Respect for Marriage Act Will Impact Your Priest, Preachers & You

"Lot going on up on Capitol Hill. That's going to impact your preacher. Now, I suspect a good many of you actually are regular church attenders you go to mass, maybe you go to synagogue, you go to church, whenever the doors are open, if you're a baptist, well you got Sunday morning, then you got Sunday school, and then you got Sunday discipleship training and then Sunday Night services, and then you've got Wednesday, prayer meeting service. Baptist go to church a lot. What can I tell you? But the reality is you folks who go to church, what's happening up on Capitol Hill today is going to impact you and you need to be very, very, very, very concerned. About what the Republicans are going to be up to. And you say, well, Tom, wait a second. I thought the Democrats were in charge of the. So yes, they are in charge. But 12 Republican senators, including Willard Mitt Romney and Lisa Murkowski, have sided with the Democrats to advance the respect for marriage act. Now, here's what we're looking for and we're waiting for. We are waiting for the vote, but we're also waiting for an amendment a vote on an amendment senator Mike Lee and Marco Rubio among others have urged their colleagues to insert language that would protect your preachers because as it now stands. If this law goes into effect, if this law happens, if Joe Biden signs his John Hancock on the piece of paper, then your pastor and your church would be subjected to lawsuit, so if let's just say a gay activist comes and they say, hey, we want to be married in your church and you say, well, we can't do that because you know we're Presbyterian or whatever. And they could, at that point, under this law, sue you.

What's Next for Republicans After Midterm Mess?

"Byron. Do you think people are going to line up to jump on a bandwagon among activists and donors? Well, there are a lot of them who do not want president Trump to either run or to win the Republican nomination. So does that mean they're going to jump on somebody else's bandwagon? I don't know. I do believe at the moment the governor of Sanders is far, far ahead of anybody else. So I think it's entirely possible. Yeah, people will actually actively support candidates in this. That will be the money primary is always important. The consultant primary is underway. I think now let me go to the RNC. It's a unique electorate, a 168 members of the Republican National Committee elect their chair. I like ronna mcdaniel. I think she's done a fine job as chairwoman for four years, and I don't like changing chair people because they ought to be a ministerial offices, not executive offices. In other words, I'm going to be a trustee for the party and running our operations between now and 2024. It's two years away. What do you think? Is she going to win reelection and do other candidates think she will be fair? Because she's awfully close with Donald Trump, but I also think she's very fair. Well, you know, I think it's not simply administrative or ministerial at all. The RNC does make policy. Remember the ill fated autopsy after Mitt Romney's laws. You're the only one, Byron, but go ahead. You're right. Reince priebus was chairman of the RNC at that point. And they went into a lot of them thought, I think I thought illogically, but they thought that Mitt Romney is going to be able to beat the incumbent president and when he didn't, they had this autopsy and said, we're never, ever. This is simply an operations review that we're making. We're not going to suggest policy in the immediately come out and so they have to support comprehensive immigration reform. So it was a disaster all the way around.

"Have a list. This is a freshly updated list of Republican senators who are supporting this, and all of these folks, by the way, were just like Barack Obama and one of them in particular was staunchly opposed to same sex marriage. That would be Mitt Romney of Utah, who now supports the bill, also Tom tillis of North Carolina, rob Portman of Ohio and Susan Collins of Maine, a Lisa Murkowski is hinting that she will support this along with senators, let's see here. Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa, telling Business Insider that she was keeping an open mind about the bill. So you could have more Republican senators joining the Democrats pastor. Yes, that's a concern. And I always, as a pastor, I always ask myself, what's the faith base of the individual making that vote, what's going on at their home church? Because it usually influences them. And then the second thing is who are their donors. And there's a lot of money that comes from this crowd. What they're all saying is that this was passed at the Supreme Court level. We're just agreeing with the Supreme Court. But that's not exactly as I understand it true. This is an opportunity for them to be what our founders intended. It checks and balances in how far this law is codified and how much of a nuisance it becomes to the faith community. And so at the very least, they need to consider language in the in this that excludes religious organizations and I've yet to hear about that. Well,

The 12 Republican Traitors Who Supported 'Respect for Marriage Act'

"Yesterday about this respect for marriage act, and in a nutshell, this is going to put a target on every single church Christian school, Christian business owner in America. You're a nonprofit. They're going to yank your tax exempt status. That's what's going to happen with this. So they had to pass this thing. There was a major hurdle they had to pass, and they were able to do it last night. 12 Senate Republicans joined Democrats. To push through this plan to codify gay marriage. And again, this is not about gay marriage. This is about not protecting religious liberty. And there's a very good chance if this thing gets passed and it looks like it'll be passed with the entire Senate momentarily, and then it goes back to the house. And the house is going to pass it, and Biden's going to sign this into law. And then you will get a knock on the front door of your church from the Internal Revenue Service. That's what this is all about. So here are the 12 senators who joined the Democrats and I'm going to share these names, then you need to call these senators and you need to give them the what for. And then I want you to call us back and tell us what they said. But these are the senators who, by the way, previously were opposed to gay marriage to get elected, but now that they're in office, all of a sudden they've had a change of heart. So here they are. Kurt Schlicter's Advice for Voting in Future Elections and Winning

"We lost. We got our asses kicked. And I want to ask you if you could do one thing, and we're going to skip everybody I have heard, agrees we need to do early voting and ballot harvesting, okay? Good. Let's do that. That's not enough. What do we need to do past that? Oh my gosh, there are a wide range of things. First thing I would sit down and do is take advantage of the time we have. And do some deep thinking about this because there is a lot of stuff. Let's start with the big picture, voters. We need to be more strategic. Stop voting with your heart all the time and vote with your head, some of the time. Doesn't mean you always elect Mitt Romney, but sometime you have to decide, you know, I would like Joe blow, but maybe Joe Smith might be more likely again elected. You've got to be strategic. I think people misunderstand principles. Here's my principle. I win. I win. You lose. Yes. Yes, that is my principal. I love the people going, well, you know, Lisa Cohen, correct about the election system. Well, you have to take power to do that. And that requires Harry Potter wand. Well, and part of it, okay, if you look at Arizona, we have to accept the fact that it's as bad as they did and tried to prove to everyone that that they want to make it look as much like a stolen election as possible. In the end, the lower ballot candidates were winning big time and one as many votes as the Democrat who beat Carrie Lake. So I don't know how that's going to turn out. And I don't want to create a fight. But we need to accept the fact that our message is not getting through. Yes. And we need to look at where that message worked and didn't and figure out who the correct messenger is.

Dinesh Reviews Biden's Desperate Last-Minute Appeal

"I want to talk about Biden's speech last night, a last minute pug nation and to many people desperate last minute attempt to save the Democrats in the midterms. And how do you save the Democrats in the midterms? Well, you can't save the Democrats now by pointing to issues. Biden has no record to run on. He can't say, well, listen, I've done a great job on gas prices. I've done a great job on food prices and on inflation. I've done an excellent job with the economy. He tried some of that, but it was sheer misinformation. At one point, he goes, Gauss prices were $5 when I came in. No, they weren't. And by the way, Twitter has started running some fact checks on Biden. Last 'cause it's a forest. Normally, these guys get away with the most outrageous lies and they're never fact checked. So it's kind of a reminder that Democrats that they want content moderation. This kind of cuts both ways. Now, a Biden speech, even before the speech, they were putting out the word The White House wise. We're going to be defending the democracy. And the press secretary was asked about this. And she said, yeah, he's going to call this out. We're seeing an attack on our democracy and the president has been very clear. We need to protect our democracy. We need to strengthen our democracy. And then someone, one of the reporters asked, well, are you saying that it is against our democracy to vote for a Republican? And this press secretary is unbelievably dumb. So she was like frozen, like the deer in the headlights. But then she goes, we're talking about maga Republicans, maga Republican officials who have been then she goes on to talk about the big lie. And so on, well, wait a minute. The maga phenomenon is now the mainstream part of the Republican Party. This is well known people who Trump endorsed are more likely to win the primaries. So in a sense or answer the question is yes, because who are the non maga Republicans? Well, I guess you could say Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney. So basically what the Democrats are saying is we want to control opposition.

Hispanic and Latino Voters Are Going in the RIGHT Direction

"Wall Street Journal is finally following our lead here where we've been saying for quite some time that Hispanic and Latino voters are going in the right direction. Very, very quickly. Democrats are in trouble with Hispanics. Wall Street Journal William galston writes, Republican gains among Hispanic voters have generated a wave of concern among Democrat strategists. In 2020, Trump received 38% of the Hispanic vote compared to 28% in 2016, much better than Willard Mitt Romney. It's funny how the guy who talks about immigration and culture and language actually does better. It's interesting how that works. Maybe all of those Republican consultants that talk endlessly on television have no idea what they're talking about. Mister Trump's share rose to 46% from 35% and in Texas to 41% from 31%. He made very large gains in other states as well. Now, at turning point action and turning point pack, we are leaning into this. We are doing Hispanic outreach. And in fact, we have an advertising campaign that we have just launched. Can we put up the images where this is all across the country? Actually focused in Arizona, where we're putting up billboards specifically targeted towards the Hispanic community. I think we're the only group that is doing this.

Caller: In General, Conservatives Are Depressed

"I want to say that I believe that Republicans and conservatives in general are depressed. When you look around at what's happened recently and you look at what happened with the Trump Biden election, there's no way Biden won that. And we feel like the same thing's going to happen again because the people in power like Mitch McConnell or Mitt Romney, they're all they're not making any changes that we need to see made. And they're just going on with what they have for power. And you know, I hear that a lot and I think there's a lot of wisdom in what you're saying, that the election integrity issue that has been shut down by the mainstream media, the left doesn't let us talk about it. They'll cancel people. Look at what Mike lyndell has been put through because he has the same concerns that we have. Chris, here's the problem with that. And I want you to give me a straight, a straightforward answer. Whether you realize it or not, in sort of, I don't mean you personally, by the way. But if people have given up and checked out, you've let them beat you. You've let them win. If you're not engaged right now, you're letting them be victorious. Do you realize that or do you connect those dots that way or not? Absolutely. I sat at dinner with a bunch of conservative Friends last night, and we all talked about it. We're all still going to vote. We're all going to go do what we know we need to do. But everybody there felt like we were in a position where we were just throwing away our time. That's the part that frustrates me. And again, I'm not shutting down what you're saying. And I think it's a very real reaction. I believe the reason for this hesitancy or this depression is the election integrity issue.

Doug Describes 'Significant Holds' in the Upcoming Elections

"Look at the landscape, there are several significant holds and I want to discuss this if you never listen to my podcast before I want you to know this. There are significant holds. What I mean by hold is these are Republican seats that they are up for election and they need to hold them. In other words, Republicans need the hold to see if the Democrat wins, they say flip. Just as there are flip seats for Republicans. If they need to get to the 51 mark as we go. So let's discuss the hold first. So far the holds are interesting. I do want to mention a couple of quick things that have came out in the last little bit of holing cycle here is we went to the number one. This is not a state that I don't think will flip by any means, but it is interesting to me that Utah is being talked about a little bit. And the latest polling, which came out as of today, had senator Mike Lee ahead of Evan mcmullin 42 to 37 as a 5 point lead. What's interesting in this is, is that the is Mitt Romney is not getting involved in this race. He's not endorsing or helping Mike Lee. That's an interesting, you know, again, if you know Utah Republican politics, this is a little bit interesting as it goes forward. I don't see this actually flipping. Or macmullan winning. Larry O'Connor: Joe Biden's One Brief Shining Moment Ends

"Know if I'm going to commit an act of heresy here by pointing this out and I want to pick your brain on this for one brief shining moment. We saw desantis and Biden standing together yesterday on behalf of floridians, then of course Biden sort of blew it by saying that, you know, climate change is now that discussion has ended thanks to Ian. But am I wrong to feel a little warm and fuzzy about seeing a brief moment of unity right now between yesterday between a Republican governor and a Democrat president? Well, I think you're wrong only if you don't have a little bit of a cynical look at it as well because let's face it, Joe Biden needed to do this for weeks before an election because if he didn't, it would devastate the Democrats even more going into these major terms. I think that they've already written off the fact that Ron DeSantis is going to win going away in Florida. Boy, where is Charlie crisp in all of this? And he's got to be annoyed at Biden coming down there, but obviously they made the calculation that showing that the federal government can function under Joe Biden and that he, you know, in this one brief shining moment he actually fulfills what he's promised us that he'll work with people across the aisle that's always been a lie. We know who this man is. We saw how he treated Robert bork and clarence Thomas and said Mitt Romney wanted to put black people back in chains back in 2012. "The state of Utah. It's one of the most beautiful places in America. There's some great people in Utah. And I know the people of Utah, especially the grassroots conservatives in Utah, are very, very frustrated with what's happening. I am no fan of Mitt Romney. He's awful. Mitt Romney is a liar, Mitt Romney is a deceiver, Mitt Romney lied to Donald Trump and got Donald Trump's endorsement just because he was afraid of what would happen in a primary. If you didn't get it, and then he goes and impeaches Donald Trump, I believe twice, we get a fact check on that. I know he at least voted to remove him once. Mitt Romney marched with BLM activists, Mitt Romney is always going out of his way to pander to foreign interests, not American interest, but Romney's far more concerned about the borders of Ukraine than our own southern border. And so now Mitt Romney is focused on a subterranean campaign. Very sneaky operation in the state of Utah that all of you need to be made aware of. One of the reasons I think this is not getting as much attention is because Mike Lee is such a decent man. Mike Lee is such a good person that he's so focused on process and he always looks to everyone's better angels. Mike Lee is without a doubt one of the most polite, gentle, genuine people I have ever had the chance to spend time with. I'm honored to call him a friend. But Mike Lee has just been railroaded by this entire Mitt Romney moderate LDS establishment in Utah. There's a great article in the federalist dot com that talks about this because Mike Lee is not at risk of losing to a Democrat. "My husband and I donated once to Mitt Romney when he was running against Barack Obama. And I got more mail back. Asking me for more money than I sent you. They wasted the money on emailing me or sending me actual mail, asking me for more money than I actually sent them. Why would I want to do that? I get that that's like, oh, we've got a donor on the line. We're going to keep asking, but after a while you have to look at, are you wasting the money? I'm with you. I don't understand where this money is going. And I think that's a question that needs to be answered. And the other thing, at least from my perspective, is I think that people don't want to donate to losers. I don't want to donate money to a group of people who just throw the towel in and go, well, we're not going to win this race anyway, so we're out. And we're just going to pull the money from someone who can win, and they just walk away. Why do I want to support that? You know, Mary, it seems to me at this point that there really needs to be a united frontier among all the candidates. If you're running on the Republican ticket, if it's at the national state or local level, it needs to be about crime crime crime. Yes. This is the issue that is resonating with people. And of course, our show originates from Tennessee. We've been in the national use for two weeks. I know that's a shocker, but honestly, the reason, I mean, look, we've got those kinds of murders happening every day of Memphis. So this is nothing new for us, but if the Republicans can not win the hearts of the minds, they are not going to do well. And they're going to have trouble retaking the House of Representatives, the Senate may be completely out of reach if they do not mobilize around the issues that people are talking about at the diners and around the dinner table.

She was on Fox News on outnumbered yesterday and she pointed something out in response to Biden calling maga Republicans semi fascists. Listen to what Molly said. Joe Biden has been consistent. He's always had this underlying part of his personality that is basically just a jerk. He fights with people. He yells at them. We remember how he said that Republicans wanted to keep black people in chains when Mitt Romney was running for office. And the more that he experiences some of his own decline with his mental faculties, the more that just jerkiness comes out, this is more hateful than the worst thing that Donald Trump ever said. And it's being said about tens of millions of Republicans. He's trying to walk it back and say that it's, oh, it's only about Trump supporters. That's just another word for saying Republicans. Republicans support their previous presidents, including the most recent president. And this is just incredibly dangerous. Dangerous rhetoric that nobody who purports to lead a country should be saying against half the country.

nail on the head He put his hand on the Bible took an oath of office to protect and defend the constitution of the United States and he uses it as a play toy Yeah Anyway I hope people don't forget I hope they don't forget that scene yesterday of wild applause for the historic moment in the United States and them storming out like a bunch of little pardon me Storming out in a little rage to Mitt Romney the only sole decent Republican to applaud for this moment in American history right Yeah Yeah it's obscene It's obscene They're petulant little children And beyond that they're you know petulant little school yard bullies who think that I don't know they can lie their way into a pissing their base and remaining empower You know a good strong wind would blow over any of these little waves like cotton and cruise and Graham and hawley I mean you know all together they don't constitute one full grown man This is why I love that Yeah okay That's what I mean They knew that this does not change the balance of the court right And they still have three stolen seats by an illegitimate president Let's get to him By the way this was significant wasn't it Hang on When I didn't win the election but not winning the election and then when the election was rigged and lost so that would be isn't that the defense that they're going to try for January 6th as though he really thought he won I mean that was significant But there's no evidence that he really won There's nothing but evidence that he lied to everybody claiming he won telling them to attack the capitol or they won't have a country anymore So it's so frustrating because all we need to do is get an indictment walk into court in downtown D.C. and begin presenting this to 12 jurors And I would do it for free for real And the jurors aren't stupid They will get this right They will hear him say things like I lost the election and they'll say hey those are the words out of his own mouth That is the best evidence of his intent We just got to get this justice show on the road Yeah yeah Well let's oh sorry you get some water out of here There you go Giant justice monk Okay So obviously Ivanka Trump you tweeted about that Let's just talk about this week and what was most significant You said her testimony will help prove that her father wanted the attack on the capitol to succeed There's quite a few hours that she and a Kirchner testified What is your take on what happened there and what it's going to mean legally I'm sorry yeah it's really interesting I've got a I've got a piece going up on MSNBC daily today that I authored about Ivanka's testimony and I've got something right here that's oh no that's okay please have some more justice juice So here's the thing I actually think Ivanka and perhaps even Jared because he sat for a 6 or 8 hours of testimony are a little bit smarter than the members of the cover up club that would be bad in Roger Stone Mark Meadows savino and Navarro and a few of the others because they really did not want to catch a charge for contempt of Congress And all of those men that I just named They've all been I think but for Roger Stone they've all been referred for criminal prosecution And the problem is when you are willing to commit the crime of contempt of Congress in your desperate attempt to hide information that would incriminate Donald Trump Well you have more charges in store for you Steph than just a simple contempt of Congress charge That gives rise to felony charges like obstructing an official congressional proceeding obstructing justice accessory after the fact because these men have been willing to commit the crime of contempt of Congress to bury incriminating information about Donald Trump rather than sharing it with the J 6 committee At least Ivanka and Jared decided we're not going that way We're not going to distinguish ourselves as part of Donald Trump's conspiracy which is ongoing to this day This conspiracy As we will see when the ultimate indictments are handed down So they said let me just go in there say my piece I'm sure there was lots of bluff and bluster and misdirection and equivocation but they didn't try to assert a privilege not executive privilege not their Fifth Amendment privilege against self incrimination and not a daddy daughter or a father in law son in law privilege which there is no such thing They sat down they testified and what they did is they incriminated Donald Trump and I can tell you how Yeah okay Here's how Keith Kellogg okay That was vice president Mike Pence's national security adviser Said in real time as the attack on the capitol was in progress we all went into the Oval Office and told him told the president please call off the attack Condemn the violence stop your dogs right Paraphrasing that last one too And Donald Trump refused According to Keith Kellogg a retired military general and pence's national security adviser He's not as bad as many of the others that were in Trump's orbit And then he said I tried and failed Mark Meadows tried and failed Kayleigh McEnany tried and failed Ivanka tried and failed so we sent her back into the Oval Office a second time because she can be pretty tenacious And she couldn't get her father to stop the attack on the capitol step That is a president in a very real way Waging war against the United States even his own daughter couldn't stop him That is deeply incriminating information presumably it's been provided by Ivanka under oath to the J 6 committee And if I were prosecuting the case she would be one of the very early witnesses I called because let Donald Trump's attorney attorney tried to say Ivanka yeah she was the coffee girl Barely knew her Never met her She's incredible Let them try that That dog won't hunt So Glenn a bunch of things this week obviously DoJ plans to investigate boxes of records taking from Trump's Mar-a-Lago the however how many boxes with this Well the ones labeled.

"What's so amazing is Mitt Romney represents one of the most conservative states in the country, Utah. Mitt Romney super bitter because he lost a very winnable election against Barack Obama. Mitt Romney represents a globalist view of open borders and corporate dominance. Mitt Romney is excited to try to send the United States military into foreign conflicts. So Romney, Collins and Murkowski. Mitt Romney said, quote, after reviewing, judge Jackson's record and testimony, I've concluded she's a well qualified jurist and a person of honor. While I do not expect to agree with her on every decision that she may make on the court, well, how do you know she's a she. She can't even tell you what a woman is. I believe that she more than meets the standard of excellence and integrity. I congratulate judge Jackson on her expected confirmation and look forward to her continued service to our nation. You want to know why? Our country's in the state that it's in? You want to know why the country is in tough shape, Democrats are partly to blame. The left is partly to blame. But what about the lack of an opposition party to actually stop the left from doing what they're doing? Mitt Romney is the best example of that. Mitt Romney is okay with the country being in managed decline as long as he gets the title of a senator. Mitt Romney's okay with America having open borders as long as he gets to be a senator. He would rather rule over the ashes over a diminished opposition party rather than fight for the tough stuff when it really matters. An inexcusable decision by Murkowski and Romney. To support katangi Brown Jackson. He won't endorse Mike Lee, a great Republican senator in Utah, but he'll endorse katangi Brown Jackson, who has a soft spot for gitmo terrorists and child predators. Why is that? For a couple years now, people have been setting up a contest between crypto and gold, but that's like comparing a truck with an SUV. Both carry stuff and travel from a to B, but they do different jobs. Gold's job is to keep the valve your money safe and preserve its value. And since Ukraine, the oil and the inflation crisis is on a brilliant job compared to stocks and other investments. So if you're worried about.

"So how are Republicans viewing this? Well, thankfully most Republicans are rejecting katangi Brown Jackson, Marsha Blackburn, Rick Scott, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee Rand Paul Josh hawley, and credit to Josh hawley for leading the charge on actually uncovering the fact that katangi Brown Jackson has a soft spot for pedophiles. However, do we really have an entire Republican Party? Do we have a complete Republican Party? The answer is of course not. Whenever things are getting critical or crucial, you can count on two senators in particular. One to a lesser extent to betray the promise to their voters. Mitt Romney, Lisa Murkowski, and Susan Collins have voiced their support for katangi Brown Jackson. Now my criticism will be mainly focused on Lisa Murkowski and Mitt Romney. The reason is Susan Collins never pretended to be a conservative. She runs as an outright moderate who will basically vote for the Republican leader in the Senate and the rest she's a wild card. She's an honest, moderate. She doesn't lie to her voters. She doesn't. That's one of the reasons why she's able to win over so many Democrats in Maine. Mitt Romney lies to his voters, and that's who I want to deal with first. Mitt Romney is coming out and saying he's going to support the nomination of katangi Brown, Jackson. He says, in his statement, quote, kanji Brown Jackson is a well qualified journalist, jurist, and a person of honor. Who more than meets the standard of excellence and integrity. Man my support rests on judge Jackson's qualifications, which no one questions. I question. Hello. Would someone ask Willard Mitt Romney? That's his real name, by the way, Willard. Hey, do you think that not being able to tell you what a woman is? Do you think that's normal for a Supreme Court Justice? No one will ask that, of course. He said she demonstrated judicial independence. Oh, is that what we call it now? Leniency towards baby torture is judicial independence. Her demeanor and her temperament, which was terrible, by the way, versus Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh, tangy Brown Jackson was excitable smug arrogant condescending and an important perspective she would bring to the court as a replacement for justice Breyer. This is actually Murkowski's statement. I stand corrected, but still. She will bring to the Supreme Court a range of experience from the courtroom that few can match given her background in litigation. So what good is the Republican Party if they're going to do the Democrats bidding for them? Now, mind you, what's so extraordinary is Mitt Romney voted against confirming her to the circuit court less than a year ago. So Mitt Romney goes from, I don't support her to support her, the more he learns about the leniency when it comes to child pornography. Why does that not matter to Mitt Romney? Why is Mitt Romney okay? And again, I can't even think about this. You guys can look it up yourself in New York Post by Paul Sperry, feel bad for Paul that had actually put together that article. It's so dark, it's so demented. You don't even want to get into it. You don't. But if you're really curious, you want to ruin your day. Go deep into the cases that contain brown Jackson went out of her way. I mean, there's one thing, look, you could follow the sentencing guidelines sent someone to prison. She went out of her way to almost apologize to the criminals, to say that the laws are poorly written. She went out of her way to actually move the laws to try to move the sentencing to try to alleviate any sort of penalty to the perp..

"If this whole political thing doesn't work out you could come canoes and you'd be fine one day there wouldn't hate your outfit. You look fat in those pants and say you're not very smart. I wish you could read. Felker shannon's is interesting because he resigned from both his day job and his volunteer job. And so that that is sort of from a political point of view. It's sort of interesting. I'm not sure from one or the other one doesn't know right but i mean it is interesting. He's in the secular part of of what the church does. His was just interesting. And it felt so unexpected Francis gibson's felt slightly more expected in some ways. But what it does bring out is what y'all are talking about. Which is maybe taking a minute other than i mean. I moved to the intrigue pat part. But taking a minute and saying wow. This is hard on family. I mean heart hard on families. It's i don't think people realize how there's very little compensation. And i would be for more compensation we're in this awkward place in which we have a lay legislature which i think many of us like meaning. It's not a professional legislature. But if we don't think for a minute it's not real time that cuts into jobs and it cuts into family time and the pressure and then snarky. You know social media world where everyone where elected officials aren't real people so we got to say whatever we want to And you see both of these representatives citing that at one level saying man. I'm tired and it's been a big lift for my family and you know christiane hasn't been around for as long so i'm not as that seems a little different to me. But certainly for francis gifts them. He's he's he's done this for a long time. He has as leadership. You even double the hours. You're spending and your often the focus And he you know it'd be interesting. He was sort of one of greg's front guys. And they were doing controversial revolutionary. Things they have taken a lot of slings and arrows and so i can see where he saying. Wow it it gets hard. And i think we forget to humanize the fact that they are putting in a ton of time and mostly i mean we all know this who'd be receive feedback from people were mad rate very few of us bother to ride and say atta boy thank you. We're work today. I love what i serving. Yes do you feel like he maybe pulled some of this on him with asking for the audit after there were no major problems with utah election or is that his job. He's represented to represent the people in his district. And if that's what the people in his district won't you know he can call for these and this is where because she. "The head of household tax filing status. It would also completely eliminate these state and local tax deduction the earned income tax credit to low income. Families would also be simplified to a thousand dollars for single earners in two thousand dollars for married couples no matter the number of children in the family out of that entire list that tanf is probably the most controversial. Now it's supposed to provide grants to states in order to help give support services like care job preparation and work assistance. However it hasn't actually been working like that you see in nineteen eighty six. The states were given more freedom to spend this money however they thought it would help. Poor families allegedly and they also don't have to justify why they think that to anyone so for example in twenty nineteen. There were sixteen billion dollars. That was supposed to go out through. The tanf grants only two point. Nine billion spent cash assistance for low income families. Not just tax breaks and activists say that cash actual cash is more important in more helpful. Picking on mississippi bit a recent audit found out that they actually spent their money on a speaking engagement for brett farr which he didn't show up for a series of fake. Non profits run by family of pro wrestlers of the million dollar man as well as three trucks. Football tickets and lobbyists. Yeah that whole mess still under investigation. So like i said. This is a pretty bold plan from romney and it is expected. Have bipartisan support. And i don't believe it's related in any way to the stimulus bill so it should be its own thing meaning would have a pretty darn good chance to pass so there you have it folks as promised. That's the news short and sweet day two things. I completely forgot to mention yesterday number one. I do have a link. You can follow in the show description to sign up for a free trial of audible which is amazon's like audio book and podcast app. Say you get a free month and then you do have to enter your credit card but you can cancel at any time so you could even like sign up and cancel right away but in any case i'm actually looking forward to trying that out in maybe seeing if i get barack obama's new book on there because he actually does his own audio book while he read his own book the one that just came out a promised land so that code is in the episode description and then also there's a link to a survey. I just figured it's been a while. Since i did one of those. She can give me feedback on the show anonymous or you can give me your email if you want me to follow up with you. The only other thing. I could possibly ask. You is to leave a review on gas if you haven't yet maybe you're a newer listener and you didn't hear me mentioned that in quite some time but really it does help other than that. Stay safe out there. Stay home if you can get your. Kobe shot as soon as you can. And i'll.

"They'll be remembered for their role in the shameful episode in American history. Although you haven't Mitt Romney, who he's going over the dark side pretty clearly, of course yesterday was all Trump's fault because Trump somehow incited people to riot. And I guess this is the sentence during Trump's speech where he was inciting them to riot. We're gonna walk down anyone you want, but I think right here, we're gonna walk down. Do the capital on We're gonna cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. And we're probably not gonna be cheering so much for some of them. Well, mittens, that's really not much of it in citation, but Have it your way. You know you might want to just go ahead and surrender. Now. It's kind of like the French surrender Monkeys. Mitt Romney is the Utah version of that. Get back on the clown car if you wouldn't get out of here, Mitt, Telephone over here for 10 Wcbm 6 80. On back to the phones we go. Ralph is in restless number. The hanging on very patiently, Ralph. Good morning. Good morning. Hey, a couple of observations from listening to the news, the information twisters and so forth. They kept using the phrase The capital is sacred. Nancy Pelosi's office see is sacred. Her Very but is sacred and so forth. It's interesting. And and to me, I thought well, Campell was built by slave labor and we're tearing down all the monuments. You know s O won't one day when they completely take over. Won't they want to take down the Capitol building? Because Laid. Others sat and those very deaths that Congress people sit in today, and the building was built Vice by forced labor and so forth. So how long can that building last anyway? Is it really fake everything? I noted that they kept talking about? Never before? We've seen violence like this in the capital, Who remembers 1968 when this City was practically burned down, who remembers in the Truman administration when Blair and House was attacked by Puerto Rican nationalists, and Ah White House guard was murdered and speaking of murder. Why don't we hear more about this young lady who was shot? Was she armed? Or why only outraged about that? Why is your information gap? So those are my point? Actually, in your third point, I think the first to show your great sense of irony on you're on your third point. We all the information we have so far is that she was apparently both a trump supporter and a 14 year veteran of the Air Force. We have no further information as soon as we have it. Believe me, you'll have a Sol. But, yeah, I'm I'm a little frustrated because you know, I don't have access to her social media. Um And I frankly don't know much about her. Um, was she just one of those people who thought all this to be kind of fun to do and what harm could be happening? Well, of course, there was thousands of dollars damaged of the capital rather substantial harm. On and she lost her life because of being involved in. This s O. Yeah, outraged about that particular shoes on hard, which was just room she wants well, but we don't know I'm going to assume she was, but for some reason, someone shot Either Capitol police officer or someone in the crowd who had a weapon. It's still amounts to a loss of life, and that is tragic and lamentable, but Until we have more information. I really can't speculate much on what her motives or the motives of anybody else Who was there who happened to characterize themselves as a trump supporter? Had we do know that there were some trump supporters and we do know That there were some antifa folks in the crowd that broke into the capital. Back, You know. Beyond that we'll see what happens..

"We're awaiting the House and Senate to resume certifying the election. That process was stopped by protesters loyal to President Trump as they stormed the capital Today, One woman was killed and Twitter is lacking. President Trump's Twitter account for 12 hours. As part of its security policy. Those stories and more coming up at six o'clock with Cathy Walker on K Away News radio. This is big Alan Jo Jo. Welcome back. It's big allergy John King away in his radio, A 50 A m and 94 1 FM. Of course, everywhere on the free I heard radio app. So by the way, if you're texting our show right now, 5669 no, and you're getting rid of response from us. We're actually not responding, but somebody is and it's not us responding, So I'm just kind of giving you a heads up on that. We're working to fix that problem. Let's go to Brian, who's been on hold that listening to us in Castle Rock. That's my neck of the woods, Brian. Thanks for listening to us like a away news radio. You're on with big Alan Jo Jo. What's up, Brian? Hey, are you guys Thanks for having me. I appreciate it. You got it. So you know, my question is, is, uh What happens next? You know, I don't think this is over, and it's so unprecedented that it's scary. And then I go back and I looked out, you know, in 2000 Gore Bush election that was contested for the Chad. And all of that, and eventually, you know, Gore conceded, but we were talking about a couple 1000 votes. You know, now it's it's millions and it's multiple states, and there've been dozens of frivolous lawsuits. Throw out the Supreme Court. There's nothing behind any of this. When do you face reality, you know is my question. That's a good question. That is in question. I mean, I think that your words as the president have consequence. They have meaning they have an impact and Which is why most of the time the words coming out of the mouth of the president of the United States are gone over with a fine tooth comb. By speech writers by all kinds of different staff to make sure that the message is received the right way. I mean, this is this is this is from Mitt Romney today. Okay? And by the way, Brian, Thanks for your call. We appreciate it and Saying that the day's events were a result of a selfish man's injured pride and the outrage of his support his supporters whom he has deliberated. Deliberately misinform for the past two months and stirred to action this very morning. What happened here today was an insurrection incited by the president of the United States. Now This is from Mitt Romney. And we know that Mitt Romney and, um The president aren't on best terms. But there are other Republicans and certainly many Democrats that have come out and said similar things about what happened today. The question is, where do we go from here? I mean, we still have what 14 more days with the president of the United States until there's a change in today's January 6, we know that at noon on, um January 20th, there would be a change in the presidency. But what do you What are we expecting? Now for 14 more days. Mm. Good question. I mean, this is what they always referred to as a lame duck time. You know where, Um You're holding the office. But what really gets done over these last 14 days we had the vice president of the United States stop following Um Donald Trump. Whatever that means, Um I think Mike Pence has 48 people so that he is following the And the president's not one of them anymore, is not one of them. So what does that say? Adam is in Aurora. Adam, you're on with big allergy. John Kellaway news radio. Hey, guys. Thanks for having me on appreciate it. Absolutely. So you guys have a barrage of questions today? This is all very interesting. The first one that I called in about was whether not when Congress resumes tonight. Whether not the formal objection should proceed or still be heard on guy think that the two fold question one. Is. Every representatives really have some sort of conclusive evidence. If they believe in their moral conscience that there was something that was illegitimate, then Yes, they have a responsibility to go through and continued to their objection. Personally, I don't think that's the case. This states that they represent these congressmen and senators that air there, Uh, single object. They represent states where Trump has a near cult like following. I don't believe that they're objecting because they truly believe something went wrong. I believe they're objecting for political survival in this state. Ted Cruz, Texas. Perfect example. Missouri is another big example. So Whether or not they should or shouldn't be heard is all a matter of a morality question and your conscience given today's events when seen how dangerous Trumps the voice is Um And I think that's the first time that reality has really set in in a physical manifestation, so I think it's gut check time about whether or not they think something seriously yet or whether or not the to abandon our narcissistic president? Here's what's interesting. And by the way, thank you for your call, Adam. We we very much appreciate it. Had this discussion with my younger brother on my way into work today, and he's not much younger..
