You're going to hear from him in a moment. He. Has a message to the media. And that is he no longer wants his message to go through the media fascinating conversation on the way, I'm get up after game of the night, which was this one. Jalen Donovan Mitchell on the jazz taken on James harden, and the rockets looking to stave off elimination and early on all glut Hardin does here to Jae Crowder. Just think about James harden is so good at basketball. They're willing to let him drive towards the basket. Every time any create space like that with an office a foul. They don't call it. And so he knocked down the three rockets down six of the hat. That's how good he is. Just think about what I'm saying. Allowing him Elena drive to the basket. Still create space and knocks down the three guys on his left show. I guess if he goes to the basket the messed most he can get his to quarter jazz are down by three. And that's when spider Mitchell took over this is despite a Mitchell I was hoping to see the entire season. He was of youth affective and full. What's he gets gone? He's one of the faith of my favorites to watch and Utah would go from behind to in front in a hurry. That would start the corner on a seven nothing running. He continues to not down chop shots all over the place. This is the one that basically his every part of the rim before it falls fourth quarter. If he can I shot is off the back of the iron it won't fall. At a jump ball. Wow. That ball bounded out of bounds. And it'll be Viking basketball Lancer fans, don't like it. But the Vikings get another opportunity here. Checking in for the Lancer Tyler color. Kyle color rather? So Vikings get the basketball with half a minute to go in a two point lead sixty to sixty long pass to meet amid gets it behind the centre court strike gets it across the timeline to Cal Hoon. They're going to double down on Calhoun and grabbing enforce him out of bounds with twenty three seconds to go. The Miller gets nailed for the foul and heading to the line is Calhoun. With a one in one. And again, these shots become big twenty three seconds to go here in the ball game. Sixty to sixty Vikings on top of the Lancer is both teams perfect in the NC L instead at nine into his shop won't fall. The ball is rebounded by Hamid. And they follow him immediately as well. The following is going to be on jewel that is his first and the ninth team foam. One in one for the Vikings. Immed-? And you really gotta start hitting these Hamid. His first shot is up and that one is good new himself self a second in the one on one that makes it sixty three sixty Vikings on top second shot four homey trying to make it a two possession game. With twenty two seconds to go. The shot is up and off the back of the iron. That's a tough one rebounded by the Lancers ahead to Charleston Charleston. Tool from the quarter for three more Charleston lost the handle on the rebound. But the Lancers within seconds away loose ball swatted Audubon, and they're going to say was backcourt bowel over and back on the Lancers. That is going to be Viking basketball with eight seconds to go. Viking basketball Vikings with the league sixty three sixty trying to close it out with eight seconds to go. When a game they trailed most of the way. Inbound pass there it goes. Is taken away by he he's got it. He'll he'll be followed. Immediately. With four seconds to go. And if the need. Angela Saint Joseph Bursch John is up and nothing but net he got it. Sixty four sixty. Four and a half seconds to go. How second shot on the way? He looks up and he hit them both. Well, they haven't been great from me tonight. But he made he had him when he needed to inbound pass goes to Charleston, two seconds lost the handle on it last shot really won't matter. He hit the three they're gonna count it that is Charleston's three. But in the end it is too little too late as the Vikings come KOMO with the win after trailing. Most of the way your final tonight. "Mitcham election coverage continues here with the polls now close and about half a dozen states. Here's the latest WSB's, Jimmy debris. I'm Jamie Dupree in Washington. We are starting to get some real numbers in two key Senate races with Republican governor Rick pod leading in early numbers over democratic Senator Bill Nelson in the state of Florida and a Republican leading as well in the state of Indiana over another democratic Senator Joe Donnelly again there is a long way to go in those races. But it's notable that the GOP has staked out in early litas. Democrats can't afford to lose any of their seats in the Senate in the house. We are going to start getting number soon in a series of racist from Virginia and Florida in racists for congress. Democrats need a net gain of twenty three seats to take back the US house at as WSB Jamie Dupree in Washington beginning to get early numbers is Eric von Hessler just proudly announced his his support of our libertarian candidate of about sixteen thousand votes report that we have almost seven. That's so the very early numbers just coming in and the Georgia governor's race. We've had quite a few days in the race. Bill crane. Let me ask you. If camp loses tonight will be because he didn't step down. I know that series of issues around how the secretary of state's office ran the elections. And was he trying to game the system I do believe have cost him points, particularly among white suburban female voters. And I believe that subset of the voting electorate will decide this election. So because you don't have the time we only had one debate. The news me are not covering the details of how an election is physically run. There's this perception that the secretary of state's office has their hands on everything in the elections process. When the reality is there's one hundred and fifty nine registrars hundreds of municipal election, supervisors and county boards of election oversee those registrars and actually run the elections. They decide how many voting boxes or booths go to each precinct. They decide where the precinct lines are drawn. They decide. What time the precinct lines if they have to extend the hours and run late because they open late. What time that is? Unless there's a court order to the contrary the secretary of state administers and oversees the voter registration database statewide and overseas irregularities. So if there's allegations of vote fraud ballot box, stuffing, etc. They investigate that. After the election is over with most often this theme of hacking, and and suppression and rigging, and so forth has been part of our culture now since Donald Trump came into the national political picture this the question here in Georgia really has been when it comes to camp. I think. Deviate. Where there's smoke. There's fire or is it a matter of activists throwing everything on this subject at the wall. They can do to create a perception that something must stick seems to me that it's more paranoia. And as Bill was telling us in the in the break, even if Kemp would have resigned Republican would've taken over and a Republican still would have been in charge. As far as the secretary of state goes. Pointed the Republican party nominee with would there have been no preclusion on that. And the Republican party nominee would now be running as the incumbent how difficult to if he wins is going to be to convince some Georgia Democrats that it's real if Kemp wins, I think both ways now people are so paranoid. And they don't appear apparently do not need evidence. So I think we're in a situation our in an era in our politics where for a few election cycles. Whoever loses is going to claim that the the winner stolen and it was game. It was gay. And we're just in that great strengths of this nation, historically has been the peaceful transition of power, and we're now in a place in part by leadership in both parties where everything is suspect. Everything is in doubt. And we will probably be here in another state litigating the results in many of these elections as opposed to saying, okay, they got fifty two percent. I don't like it, but they want. But I'm still amazed that when you do go to vote. It's all kinds of people standing in line all in different ways all getting along. This reality day when people are cheerful at the polling place. It was worth getting up at eight o'clock for seven thirty six WSB. Eric Erickson joins us from Athens. Right. Let's get.

"Okay. Again, this this round is burned, but he's hitting my hands and he's getting tired here. The other side of that is the referee warned me. Fair. Square. The rest said shale if you don't move on, I'm getting out of here. I just remember thinking, no, you won't. He's punching me in the arms. You're not gonna stop this fight at any rate. Miscalculation old shale came in second, and that's really all I have to share for you. I mean that that really was my perspective of the fight, and that's the quick version, but I'll tell you, I'm not very good at recapping my own matches and I don't rewatch them when they're done. I don't watch. I don't get overly nervous before a fight. You feel something you got some get some kind of emotion, but I control that pretty well. After these, you know, after all the years, all the experience I've had in there. I control that pretty well after the fact. For some reason, I cannot rewatch the fight. My poems will start to sweat that makes me more nervous than anything makes my stomach's win or lose. I don't watch them. So I gave you my level best recap if anybody watch it and goes, well, you know, chill didn't quite tell that the way it happened. Forgive me. That's the way I remember it happening. And I, I will fully admit to you a instant revisionist history from my. Own matches. You don't totally remember what happened out there. You can remember some emotions you can remember maybe something you heard your coaches, yell, you don't hear the crowd much. You don't see the crowd much. It's just it's just you and that guy. And it happens very fast fade, or I felt was a very, very fast guy. And the reason I think that I never saw those punches come. I never saw those missiles calm, and I had a couple of problems. One. I think he was probably pretty quick. I think that assessments fair when I would watch his fights. I always thought he was fast, but I always questioned is fast or is he fast for a heavyweight? And there's a big difference. And I thought that I would have the speed advantage on him. I never saw his punches. I never saw a flinch. I never saw a setup. They were all power shots. There was no jab. There was no measuring the range. There was no scene where he was that it was just Bom Bom. He was looking for the kill with everything. So it was a little bit of a hard situation in that regard. And the other side of it was he didn't keep his hands where normal fighter. Keeps them. He keeps his hands down. His face is exposed risky game, very risky game. He plays. It's cost him before because of that. But the other side of that coin is it just makes it hard to see. I talked to Mitcham before the fight mitchum told me he had that same problem with him. He said, you know, he was really quick, but his hands weren't where they were supposed to be. So it just made it difficult to see and it. It gave a good advantage to him in in that regard and and he got to me and and that was really yet. I got up a walked out and I came home and here I am so Tada. But if we were to recap the and I, I'm sorry, I can't give you a better recap of the fight than that. It was. It was. It was less than a five minute fight. So I'm doing my level best here, but I just remember trying trying to stay on him trying to get my hands on him. And I've really felt there was opportunity that I look forward to him and bathe her, and I do look forward to that match..

So nothing their fans are seeing right now is surprising them and they got a tour even though it's only into the six last night schussing pitched a the kind of game. They needed at least a little link for one of their starting pitchers into the sixth inning coordinates. Yeah, I know. I feels like it's a fourteen inning on British marriage or alluding to time earlier and how long it take, you know, an pitching changes that game at three minutes hours and twenty five minutes is thus far in the c. version. Don't tell you. It's the shortest shortest game play of the five. Tell me that tonight. Start time. Nine. Oh, nine. Eastern time start time. Nine. Oh, nine earlier game in the east and in the mid west match from the asteroids and the Red Sox. I mean, we are now to the point where we are thankful if the first digit of game time is in the four in our series, and it's and you know it, it's we have. I've never seen somebody three to council in my life as seeing in this in this what's Astro series, but it's not just a pitching changes is it is the the caution with which they play the game and well, let me let me ask you a question. Who do you think major league baseball is rooting for in the World Series Red Sox versus dodgers, or Houston versus Milwaukee Milwaukee? Yeah. Okay. But be careful because you know, I I would actually favor that one right now and entertainment wise. Now there's no well the, the TV God's don't always get. I don't care when that's not what this is, but let's talk about Boston Houston, but this is this is this is. This is great. I mean, you know, we, we expected a great series so far. It hasn't disappointed in, you know, I don't know how you guys feel because you're right there, but I was actually happy that David price them get another loss. I know it wasn't a win, but when a guy like I was kind of marveling that he's sitting there, he's talking about, I'm so happy to be part of a win hard muzzle win. It's hard of a win in the postseason Owen ten before there's just did not have to explain himself after a postseason game. You know why he was crappy, even though we didn't get the w. and of course that you can't go back to Houston down. Oh, no, no, no, that was that was a series ender if they lost one hundred percent. So what are we thinking game three. Bob, Bob, you have seen them, you know, the momentum shifts of of this game. Okay. And I got a parting shot about how the Red Sox needed Mookie Betts to step up on Sunday night when he did the the odd thing it. There's so many interesting elements to this series guys. The thing is, for all of the hand, wringing about the Red Sox setup relievers. The sketchiest reliever they now have is their outgoing closer keg creek. They officially have a heart attack closer. Now he said he's completely entered into the category as a habitat closer. He is unworthy reliable and. Right? I mean, he is. He's not in this been going on all the month of September. He he lost his control of his curveball, and then that was the explanation for whereas problems. And but as you saw against the Yankees, he had no need no control..

"Is the same. It's just that his power has evaporated, which is weird with Kris Bryant, at least his powers also dropped off percentages. Loss of eighty points. We also not good last year heat at twenty nine home runs this year. He's twelve, but to my knowledge, he's been battling shoulder problem for what seems like quite some time. He really look like himself early on hasn't recovered completely. So Kris Bryant, I think you can blame some sort of shock. Problem and Wilson controls you blame something else. But outside of that, the teams oftens has been fine. And it seems like the real trouble here is that the cubs biddings underachieved the brewers of been better, and so it just applies more pressure on the cups. They face last season. Yeah. Although I will say in September, the cubs haven't hit at all. I mean, that's been a big part of their drop off very recently. They've just been total kind of power outage. I think they have something like a seventy five WRC plus this month or something in that range. It's bleak. It's bad and that's part of it. But I don't think you can blame that on a hitting coach because then you'd be arguing that they showed no ill-effects from the hidden coach for the first five months of the season, and then suddenly abandoned everything and and when a stray in the last month. He's, I don't know that the timeline really make sense there. And I think as they have cratered in this month, I think they've struck out more so it's not as if they're just going all contact. And that's hurting them. So it doesn't really fit the narrative to me, but it's true that the cubs have not hit it all recently, which also means that up until this month they were hitting better than they had last year. So that was not their problem for most of the season and the pitching staff has improved as the season has gone on right there is a fan grasp post about that not long ago, I believe. So there's been some improvement there and some downturn in the offense. And it's led to this point where the brewers in the cubs are almost neck-and-neck as we speak, I will say. So last year the Cup drink six in the majors in runs scored and this year they, they rank eleventh, which is worse. So you know, there's been a little bit of worse worse timing run-scoring overall, his and a little bit just because the home runs haven't been flying quite the same as they did last year. And what is what's interesting is via fan grips version of Cluj that win expectancy metric that we like to play around with this year by offense of clutch, the cubs are sixth. Worst in baseball, which is not very good over last year. The cubs were sixth worst in baseball by the metric. So nothing has changed there. You could say, if anything, why are the Cup? So when clutch at the plate, I wouldn't worry about that too much, but at least that is something that has not changed. They have remained just as not timely in large part because of Kyle shorter, who I've read about today at Vandross. He has been very good as Mitcham spot before, right by the way, how bad were Joe Madden's comments about Addison wrestles the other day? I'm sure you saw it was widely reported that Madden was asked on a radio show about here's thoughts on the whole Addison Russell and his ex wife in the allegations. And he said, essentially that he hadn't read them and he wasn't going to read them until MLB came to a conclusion. And more than that, he said, quote, anybody can write anything. They want these days with social media, blogging, cetera, which is technically true of co..

"So of course they have biased toward the defense us. Look this up and a couple of data points. One, there hasn't been a former criminal defense attorney on the supreme court since three Marshall retired in nineteen Ninety-three and there's data from twenty fifteen study that showed that during President Obama's tenure, just fourteen percent of nominees, had public defense experience while forty one percent of judicial nominees. The federal level had experience working prosecutors, Susan, Robin, any thoughts about the general disparity between former prosecutors as judges versus former defense? Attorneys. I don't know. I'm not really an expert on this. I could see how it could be troublesome. Just the possibility of getting biased judges who side with the prosecution during trials because that's what they worked in. But I mean, hopefully it doesn't lead to any problems, but I could see how it could. Yeah, I think it goes to bigger pound systematic issue in sector city in the lack thereof. There are definitely no guarantees that a former prosecutor will be very anti defendant. Judge are that former defense attorney, we'll be very proud of judge, but at the same time, our judicial class as been overwhelmingly experts accusers, older, white men. And I think there is a lot of value in having a diverse Spence in all respects, especially interpretations, and I think there could be value most of judges work in criminal nature. So I think that drawing from both the criminal bar civil bar just basically expanding. In general, where he pulled up his from what he beneficial. Even the schools that come from prim court basically healer. Harvard, I think that's probably hugely damaging to our system today when you have the entire supreme court basically drawn from one of two schools that can lead to a very rigid sort of pool to draw up. Yeah, I have no stats back this up, but I think that is a problem, current court. That's certainly not being addressed today that covers us for episode, two addendum, Dennis, Perry case, Susan, anything listeners look forward to episode three.
