"We'll get we'll be the starter by the end of the year. But when he gets up in front of the media and says we got to see what andy dalton looks like in the regular season. Why we've never seen that before. Yeah why ever seen it before we sustain the preseason the known unknowns and the unknown unknowns and that's what andy dalton let me just say i should have said this is start ended up very nice guy very nice. Nice also sandy. No offense and you know what. I had like a little mini. Peter king moment this weekend when justin field said like will everybody. Please stop chanting my name. When andy dalton and the game. It's disrespectful to andy. Dalton i was like i fucking love justin field saying that. That's a big time. Old man. Sports journalists take to be like this guy's got all the intangibles because he said the right thing in front of a microphone. Yes i absolutely fell in that trap. I'm like yes. Justin fields the truth. And he's got it in fifty nine on the bill should be in jail the hit that was bad. Bad not strapped. I it sucks to. That had happened after he said the game was slow. Yeah after one. Preseason can't say that can't say that that guy was a little faster. I also think that Well the the other big news was mike. Variable tested positive for covert. Oh are set out. Let me rephrase that might people said that. He tested positive for kovin now. I was an nfl veteran head coach out. Probably say that in like week to the preseason to just so. I didn't have to go to camp last couple of weeks ago. It was already like cemented in my place. Yeah but he said that he tested positive. And then there were a lotta pictures that came out of him being very close with tom brady. Who's playing in the week. Half game the thursday night game and he's elderly and he's elderly and i don't know of tb. Twelve method is friendly to horse dewormed. But i don't know something to keep an eye on there okay. That is something to keep an eye on. Only other thing. I had was i again. This preseason so we're not gonna freak out about everything but one team then. I kind of forgot about you know how we always like. The texans are really going to play a season. The falcons are going to be really bad. Like really really bad. You think so. Yes arthur smith mass. No they're going to take list gauge. You're going to be really bad so when you have a brand new head coach you can put your finger in the air and see which way the wind's blowing and you can make some a couple like really big judgments on people that you never really have to answer to long-term but i'm ready to say that i think nick ceron is gonna stink as head coach. I think he's going to be because he's on. He's trying to do the thing. He thinks that he's bell check already and he's like. Oh yeah jalen hurts yeah. He's he's not gonna play last-second like all my starters and jalen hurts might have had like a stomach thing going on what he pulled like a bunch of starters last-second without telling anybody now has a gambler. I'm upset with that. Because i was not informed ahead of time but you can already seem like trying to play the games. He did the whole rock. Paper scissors thing Which seemed like he was outsmarting himself a little bit. Did you see that stat where they had them. Side-by-side bella check in syria. And it was like nick serianni forty years old bill bell check forty seventh year in the nfl. Took jesus christ although they do have flacco. Flacco looks pretty good. Yes they do have flacco. But i'm not ready to say definitively whether or not arthur smith's going to be a good head coach. Yeah no. I don't think they're in a re of total rebuilt. So i'm not gonna blame. Whatever i just know that the falcons like think about it. They were bad last year and they got rid of their best player. Yeah who jones. Yeah we calvin ridley's really good. How many number one picks to have on offense a lot. Probably hillsdale's pits. He's going to be good. You've got like nine or ten probably going to be really bad. Yeah and then. Let's see what else is going out. West the chargers. Yes they look pretty. Good baby braun during james That was an all time tweet from lebron on friday taken everyone who was anyone with the last name. James is now officially in my family. Over derwin james kevin. James rick bring him on rick. James tried looking up the youtube thing and the only thing that came up when i searched youtube basketball gambling through players team for gambling in two thousand fourteen so Yes so spread. So you really searched us and i find it. Then i'd met up and say i'm wrong. You should just search big cats tweets for youtube. Parcel bore cat tap. I probably tweeted also trae lance. I think is going to be the king of new fun quarterbacks. Because he's going to have some like shitty shitty turnovers and he's going to have some awesome through a sprinkle done and some great runs in some great runs. It's just going to be fun to watch. Yes yes all right. Other things other sports we have to at least acknowledge. Miguel cabrera five hundred. What do you got jake. You tweeted in twenty seventeen. Fourteen year against the spread dow me. There's no chance that would not have tweeted. And they were good article find their record. They weren't good. That was the best part they were just covering machine was a great ride yet. One of those. It's like Point break us a fifty year storm. He's got to get out. There and falcons surfing go to bondi beach babies when you basketball sorts covering his team. Seventeen out there but they covered fourteen in a row. That's insane fifteen and seventeen team fifty year storm so yeah miguel cabrera. Five hundred home run. He is so the list of guys that have five hundred home runs and to at least two batting. Titles what is list. How many people to batting titles. Five hundred home runs three. It's to ted. Williams miguel cabrera. That's pretty slow if he gets. He's he's like fifty. Ish hits away from three thousand hits if it gets three hundred thousand hits the five hundred home run. Three thousand hits three hundred average club. Is hank aaron. Willie mays miguel cabrera. That's insane like that's like obviously miguel. Cabrera has been doing for so long so you kind of forget but that's insane company. He also..

It says swabs it saucy nece is saucy nece crush and it is a shirt that one hundred percent of the net proceeds are going to add militia to hopefully get them on the road to getting their own restaurant wing nuts which it's i'll fully admitted it. It's somewhat selfish. Because i'm hoping that they hit it so big that it just becomes a franchise around the country and whatever city. You're in there's a wingnut. I i don't know if that would i don't know if ed we let that happen. I don't know hands on without wings. Listen you're not ashamed to admit the. I'm ashamed to admit that i told like seven different people the full story of wing nuts this weekend and just how good wings were. I was on d.c. Radio at noon on friday. And they asked me a question about like What do you think about sam israel. He's out with a concussion. You think that he's going to be able to step in that third tight end raw and i was like let me tell you a little bit about wing nuts buffalo and on like a five minute unprompted diatribe about how great is wings. Were so yes. I do hope that they get their own place. I had people hit me up being like dude where they really that good. Stop everything you're doing. They're fucking better than i went out to dinner last night at a bar that i know has great chicken wings here in town and i looked at him and i got like a not in the i can't order these wings. Wing nuts ruin chicken wings. Yeah because yeah. I can't have a another wing i would actually say like. I'm not a religious person. I think religion is kind of a crock of shit but i i understand now why people like see the light because that's what wing wingnut system to me like you could see me being crazy person sitting outside of madison square garden being like have you observed your sins and have you eaten it wing nuts dude if churches had wings them. I would go all the time. So i get i get it. People just got grass in line. It's kind of a crock. Shit i lose you lose yourself religion. I've lost myself in wingnut. we're the same. Were the same people when it comes out speaking of religion. I think billy may have seen the light this weekend. The preseason segue to our yeah we so preseason wrap up for for week to the dress rehearsal we did. The math dress rehearsal was the second third and fourth quarter of two. Yeah so zach. Wilson got in played pretty well when nine eleven had a bunch of two touchdowns touchdowns brown one hundred twenty eight yard. You think of that. Be okay but you looked amazing. He was seeing the field. He was just picking apart the packers defense. It was honestly like amazing. Sees a jets fan. And i shot from the hip and shot out there. You know i was watching the highlights again today. And i was like sack. Wilson wins the super bowl for the jets. I'm going to convert to mormonism. Okay no more beers billy. Yeah no no no. No no no when i said that i was like yeah just convert but then i forgot about all strict stuff. You forgot about the entire religion. Yeah you can just be a bad mormon. Yeah i'll be bad more. I'm so down to be a bad mormon. okay. I got my kidnapper guy. My inboxes got g flooded. Your kids stuff. You can let jake off trying to think of just kid stuff. But then i got a bunch of dm's from mormon missionaries kind of awful. Yeah they smell. They're like hey look we talked to you about the church. Latter day civilians hot lead right now got win the super bowl. I was so basically sack..
Former Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky Signs One-Year Deal With Bills
"Announced earlier today former bears quarterback mitch trubisky signing a one year deal with the buffalo bills presumably to backup josh allen. There it is a two and a half million dollar deal with some incentives tied into it. That's injury presumably would be the other scenario. He gets beat out for the backup and he's the third. Is that one. maybe it gets cut. It's a there's a chance he'll be the backup. Let me ask you this question though. Because it's easy and it's if we're making fun of mitchell way or mitchell and that's worthy of being made fun of i think but not this. He's okay right you know. He's making more than a lot of hardworking people. You know literally do in a lifetime in this bad year but they are in the end of these players these reaching the pinnacle of their profession. And it's a billion dollar profession. They make money. They're supposed to make. I mean to me. The beauty of the nfl's rev share agreement. Is they're saying okay. The players contribute fifty percent the infrastructure. The all legacy to have the trademarks team. You know however you want to think about that fifty percent we take the money in. We divvied up and go. I mean to me that means that you can't even debate if collectively that you were jones but collectively with the players deserve their millions and millions and billions ultimately. They do that said we can. Because they're making so much money. We can have some fun with it. But i gotta be honest. I think that trubisky getting resigned by the bears was closer than we thought. Because i would make the following case. Let me ask you joan. What you would have made the odds. I don't we didn't do it at the time but right when this season let's say the regular season ended and those that remember obviously foles got her trubisky came back in play statistically significantly. Better at that point. I would have guessed about thirty percent chance. The trubisky would've had been rinse we signed in some significant way. Not like a five hundred million dollar deal but a real deal. I think the odds weren't worse than thirty percent. What would you have guessed. The is debate. I yeah i would have said probably about the same because that was a lot of the discussions i know in and around chicago that day. Did he play himself back into consideration for the twenty twenty one quarterback job and when i see him getting beat out for the job. I don't mean that. As a slight m i actually think. He's a much better quarterback than people give him credit for. I think for that kind of money if somebody comes in and outplays him buffalo's not gonna be tied to that contract like if he would have signed for seven or eight million
NFL Franchise Tag: What it is and how it works
"What is a franchise tax. So you hear this word a lot. I always used to think franchise tag means. We're just gonna see that player on that specific team for the remaining of the season but there or for the next year but they're a little more complicated in that so every offseason teams have a two week window to plot to a one year franchise tag so once the player gets tagged they can either sign that contract or a long term extension. Which is the more i think. That's the more popular use of the franchise tag because a of teams don't want their their coveted players to hit free agency and they don't want another to swoop them without getting being able to offer them. I so these salaries for for each tag varies by position and the price is set by either adding the top five paid players from each position or it can be one hundred percent of a player's previous year's salary so twenty percent Increase in that salary so by position quarterback at least twenty six million a year with the franchise tag water. She was get seventeen million defensive ends get around seventeen million but less than receivers linebackers get fifteen million and so on and so forth. I think running backs get around ten million so it all depends on how guys are being being paid at that specific position so teams only can use this once a year and they can only use it on one player you can use it on the same player different years but yeah you can only had us one tag per year. There's different types of tags. There's an exclusive franchise tag which means players can't negotiate it all with other teams. There's a non exclusive franchise tag where other teams can make an offer and then The the team that has that player can match that offered and take the player And then there's a tradition. Tax tradition tags are similar to non-exclusive but players get an average of top ten position salaries instead of top five. So there's a little bit of a my discrepancy there and once the tag is applied teams have until mid july to renegotiate the contract. So like i said most common use for these franchise tag is not let a player. They want hit free agency. They wanna keep them around and then negotiate a more long-term deal to save some money and get under the cap for the foreseeable future so these somewhat can be slightly unfair A lot of players disliked the franchise tag for example on robinson is voiced his opinions against the franchise tag because it plays a lot of restrictions on upper-echelon players. So when a player like allen robinson gets franchise tagged they can't really find the real market value because they have that set price on them and if they wanted to go explore free agency then they could go interview with a bunch of teams test the waters and see what their actual worth is rather than getting a set number Just put on them so that's somewhat unfair This makes them have no financial security past one season. So if there's an injury then you know they just their value could just completely plummet. Under the franchise tag now players can hold out. That's really the only leverage they have in the su- situation but you know that's asking a lot of a player to put their public. Perception line put their reputation with the fans on the line and so most players don't do that but it has gotten to that point before so most cases players work at a deal for the tag comes into place in july which is the deadline for them to restructure. Or make that deal. So now i'm gonna get into what players have got tagged so far and What does that mean for. These teams moving forward. I player i wanted to discuss. Is alan robinson so. This one was obvious when it had to be done. Bears have a lot of uncertainty at the at the quarterback situation. So i don't think they wanted to make a long term deal without knowing where what direction they were gonna go with the quarterback. But you couldn't let player of this caliber and a player. This talented gopher nothing in return so in twenty twenty roms a career. High one hundred two passes for twelve hundred fifty yards. And he's only twenty seven which is pretty remarkable considering everything he's been through he had a tornado in two thousand seventeen with jacksonville. And he's really played with really bad quarterbacks over the years he's had blake bortles who's a backup slash bouncing around the league and he's played with mitch trubisky. Who's a failed first round pick for the chicago bears. And he's still been that he's had that production there no matter what. So i really wanna see robinson play with upper echelon quarterback and i just think if you give him a russell wilson someone who's above slightly above average maybe even just average than his numbers will go up. Even more is ridiculous so like i said he's a true number one receiver. I would argue top five in the league. He's either gonna play for seventeen million in two thousand twenty which is what his franchise tag number. I think he's looking for more around twenty million and easier gonna play under that contract or he can hold out. Which i think is definitely a possibility with this player just because of the displeasure. He's voiced on social media and kind of how players of rallied. His teammates have rallied rallied around him and they really want to see him get paid but when you look at the market value so he's gonna get paid seventeen million the tag next year.
"Grading Jason's Predictions" - Episode 040 - burst 3
"You said that the cubs would miss the playoffs that year. Two nine hundred and you were corrected fell apart. The bears would make the playoffs in two thousand nineteen. That obviously do not happen and that you would do the dishes at home. You would be nicer. Oh wait that was. One of my predictions never mind. We'll we'll take that one off. Okay i like this here. The end of the summer early fall of two thousand and nineteen are episode. Qb or not cuba's mitch trubisky with nfl networks. Charley casserly. You predicted that kanye west album would come out the next day and it did it. Did that was the day before homecoming. Yup and how do you feel about that that last album so the album suck don't know i i can assure you as they come out. They came out that day at school. I remember right after a test. All right you also said that the bulls were going to make the playoffs and ridiculous and absurd. Possibly forty six wins. Yeah now that has not been happening. Has it all right. We move on then to the cubs new manager episode twelve david ross knock grandpa rossi and that was with author. Dan yeager that joined the show. You predicted that. Zach levine would do the dunk contest in chicago. He'd been not He's not he was going to if you made the all star team and he was stopped so technically i was wrong but he had every intention of doing it until he got from the all sorts of you also predicted that the grammy nominations young thugs albums. So much fun would be not in. I had a huge problem with the grammy. Nominations that you back to back years the rat. Nominations have been just absurd so that didn't happen and actually a lot of Very well well versed people in the music world no pun intended Thought that that album should have won the grammy and it wasn't even nominated how That was incorrect. You also predicted that kris. Bryant would be traded that offseason which would have been prior to last year's pandemic season which obviously did not happen. But maybe it should have right. Maybe you should have happened. Oh no absolutely should have happened. Yeah exactly all right. Let's go to our giving. Thanks on thanksgiving. Two thousand nine nineteen. We did not do predictions. That was a mini episode in. Which you pretty much ripped everyone that you've ever sat next to in my family during thanksgiving that made a lasting impression on my family. Let me just tell you that episode. Fourteen back to david ross. This time with the interview. That i did with david ross. You predicted that. During the winter meetings the sox would sign dallas kaikal. And they did. They did and they did. Yep you also said that they would make a trade for a controllable player defined that and they did make changes. So would you identify someone as a contract player. Think back That they would trade her controllable player. Okay so they did not. But what the dallas cycle was pretty darn big so i'm gonna give that to the clinical moods pretty big. I think should get credit for that.
Bears announce coach Matt Nagy, GM Ryan Pace will return after 'impressive' finish to 2020
"Apparently matt nagy is going to make it to next year. The bears are gonna keep him the head coach. The general manager ryan pays. Who may have been more maligned than nagy. Decline the fifth year option trubisky. But it's still an option to bring him back in some way our jeff dickerson who covers the bears is essentially reporting. Nagy and pace will be back. Our dan orlovsky is voicing his opposition. What has matt nagy done as for his a an organizer as far as a leader as far as a person with foresight within their organization to say yes in that head coaching role. We love them. Now we're going to allocate some of the play calling responsibilities or the offensive viewpoint. Who are we going to give that to. And what has matt nagy done within. That building approve on great in this role. I understand what dan is coming from. But i think in this situation. He has a winning record. Chuck pagano is retiring as a defense coordinator so he's got to his staff and his thought process in his thinking. Maybe there's a guy or two out there that is really good at calling. Plays really good at putting a system in place to make. Whoever the quarterback is going to be in the future for them successful. So i'm okay with them taking a look see. They just went to the playoffs. So you take a look in just poo. poo it. because you've got to restart things all over again when you completely blow everything up so give it a shot in twenty twenty one see where it's at. He's going to be before you make that decision and that move now mr bisky mitch. Trubisky is jockeying for position to come back and be the chicago. Bears starting quarterback again. Now maybe there's a small deal there because they didn't pick up the fifth year option. There's a small little deal. Maybe there's a two year deal. That is a proven deal that he can now show with a new office coordinator his abilities that he showed in north carolina and made them take him as a number two pick overall.
Chicago Bears Lose To Green Bay Packers, But Are Headed To Playoffs
"Patriots aren't even that. Close the steelers at thirty two. The forty niners next. I'll then the cowboys and only then do we get to new england and a few spots down from that we get to the green bay packers and the frozen tundra of lambeau field which is where they could clinch the number one seed through these playoffs if they were to take care of business in chicago. Yesterday dan aaron rodgers putting on a show green that throws out sleep ridiculous finding all the way on the backside and just that flick of the wrist on love. This play realizes pressure doesn't want to get the motion offbeat that blitzing nickelback. I've gotten nbs on a linebacker down the middle feel. That's an easy touchdown. For the greatest quarterbacks ever look at them just a flick of the wrist right up where that trailing the linebacker beautiful play by rodgers and ensuing drive because they were hanging around for much of this this mitch trubisky. This is cole. Command this ball is coming out. And that's the last thing in the world you need to do as the packer defense will celebrate is give more chances because dan you know he knows what to do. Exactly greenwich see the empty. I'm going to scan. I'm going to scan them skin. I got protection that i'm gonna get trailing linebacker. That lime tight end. Linebacker doesn't do his job carrying vertical touchdown green bay rogers in the first half ten of ten. The one fifty five and three touchdowns is that good jones taking it in for score. Twenty eight sixteen bears trying to hang in there and then they're not you got. That seem route your tight end and the safe the amos cla- classes on it. You got across his face. Mitchell trubisky doesn't see the same way as the tight end turnover chicago the packers after the pick. There's devante that's the fourth touchdown of the day for aaron rodgers who puts the finishing touches on. Here's mvp resume and the road to the nfc or through the nfc. We'll go through lambeau field. You don't see the packers on the screen. Because they get the by the wildcard next saturday. You got the rams at seattle. Then later that night it's washington hosting tom brady and the bucks and then sunday. The bears will visit drew. Brees and the saints. That is the way this whole thing shaped up and

Bill Barnwell on Bears versus Packers
"Watching bears and packers and aaron rodgers to the surprise of literally. Nobody just decimated the bears and mitch trubisky forty one to twenty five so i wanna turn this conversation to the horse race. The mvp conversation because there really hasn't been a wire-to-wire front runner. This whole time. We've seen the pendulum kind of swing. Russell wilson kyle murray. Was there for hot. Second mahomes obviously and aaron rodgers who remains squarely in the thick of it after an off season full of drama around jordan. Love being drafted at quarterback and yet there is aaron rodgers just dominating again robert tanya and guys at touchdown to robert tanya made aaron rodgers the eleventh. Qb in nfl. History to pass for more than fifty thousand yards the second-fastest so where are you on. The whole rogers ram vp. Okay so i. I'm inclined to pick. Patrick mahomes by choice right now. And i think the only thing separating those two with russell wilson third is that one disastrous game. Rogers had against the bucks earlier this season. And i think if you're going to make a case for rodgers. Mvp to start with the idea that he's doing more with less and mahomes has to work with. And wilson has to work with the homes of course has a dominant group of receivers with Terry travis kelsey leading the way. Russell wilson has decay metcalf and tyler lockett and we talked about this before the season. Rogers has devante adams and a lot of question marks. Rogers has injuries and opt-outs affecting his receiving corps from week to week and on top of that. The guys who are extra showing up are posting the second highest drop rate for any quarterback in the league and yet when you put rodgers back there even against a very good defense which the bears are. There are stretches this year. He looks absolutely untouchable. The bears had no answers for him on sunday night. So the other
Rodgers' 4 TD passes help Packers roll over Bears 41-25
"It two hundred first meeting the Green Bay Packers with the Chicago Bears forty one twenty five at Lambeau field for their one hundredth victory in the NFL's oldest rivalry Aaron Rodgers fired four touchdown passes to four different receivers the bears are not dropped five in a row to four to five and six Walt Rodgers has the Packers at eight AM three sitting atop the NFC north to bounce back against division rival in a game that Sir it really put us in the driver's seat play the way we need for the server or game online later you know if you want to be a great scene these are kind of games when I think that's forced Mitch Trubisky into three turnovers including a fumble returned fourteen yards for a score by Preston Smith to open up an insurmountable twenty seven three lead in the second quarter mark Daniels Green Bay
Bill Barnwell on NFL Undefeated Teams + Monday Preview
"Bill Barnwell. It is late Sunday night almost midnight, which means it's time for you to make me smarter about the NFL. I'm going to try my best Baba Bill. Barnwell is a senior writer for ESPN host of the Bill Barnwell show and he's procrastinating his deadline to talk to me. So we just watched the saints and the packers on Sunday night football and the saints lost without. Their Star Receiver Michael Thomas. But that did not stop us from getting a whole bunch of touchdowns drew brees and Aaron Rodgers. Each threw for three a piece. But in the end, the packers won the saints lost and they've now lost New Orleans says back to back games for the first time since two thousand, seventeen bill I know you are writing a new piece about drew brees coming off of the two year deal that drew brees signed in the offseason and what we've now seen from him through these first three weeks what did you see in Sunday night's games he regressing improving? What do we have with bruise right now? Okay. So public drew brees definitely improving this is a better performance from him. Me brees was downright bad on Monday night in week two against the raiders before we got to garbage time and breeze didn't do deep very frequently until this game was out of hand but I think the concerns i. have read or have heard about arm strength or how deep is passes typically go they don't really get how reason this offense actually worked. Breezes sort of like. A singles hitter in baseball like Tony Gwynn lagging time where a post player with no range in basketball he's not going to suddenly start throwing deeply. He's Patrick Mahomes at forty one years old breeze has succeeded. Over the last three years while throwing the shortest paths in the League because he's posted the three best single season completion. In NFL history. Now. The good news for the Saints Good News For Saints Fans is that brees was much more accurate on Sunday night it was twenty, nine, thirty, six for two, hundred, eighty, eight yards a lot of that West Alvin Kamara who did a lot of the work but still going to end up thirty six is still better than where brees was. The bad news was just about everything else. The Saints Lost Starters Jared Cook and Andres P to injuries while devante. Adams List Aaron Rodgers threw for two hundred, eighty, three yards and those three touchdowns you mentioned. The saints focused on adding veterans with nicknames Emmanuel Sanders and balcony. Jenkins this off season. But. Sanders hasn't been able to stand out with ankle Thomas Injured and Jenkins has been picked apart in pass coverage including Mercedes Lewis touchdown on Sunday night the attorney for more accurate breeze that was a bright spot. But if the saints continue to struggle with injuries and get disappointing play from their stars, the Orleans is going to need this version of free stick around to have a chance to compete in the NFC. So the packers emerged three no, and that's where a lot of focus the rest of our conversation here on the teams that are now undefeated through three weeks of the NFL season. So bill, let's push deeper into the NFC here because the Chicago Bears Be Chicago bears are somehow three you know and they do it by beating the Falcons thirty to twenty six Chicago was trailing by sixteen head coach. Matt Nagy Decides to pull quarterback Mitch Trubisky in favor of the veteran nick foles mister big bleep nick himself who goes on to throw three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter. So I have a two part question for you now. Why are the Falcons physically incapable of holding onto a fourth quarter lead and? Secondly, where does this leave the whole quarterback situation in Chicago? Let me answer the second part of that question I. The bears are going to flail by the seat of their pants for the rest of the season I would assume that nick foles is going to start until he struggles and the bears trailing by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter a couple weeks from now, I would point Mitch Trubisky will come in and lead them to victory and the cycle will start the new. Unfortunately I don't have one simple takeaway for our poor friends and Atlantic. Is Different From what we saw in week to as. Much. As the defense was disappointing in this game, the offense really deserves a fair chunk of the blame for what happened scored a touchdown on the opening drive third quarter, and then basically tried to sit on their lead, Matt Ryan and company REPA- total three first downs on their next six is before the bears took the lead back and the only scored one field goal over that time after bisky intercession back running back Brian L. dropped an easy third down conversion which would have put the Falcons and field goal range. Then on the next drive kicker, young coup miss a forty eight yard field goal attempt. I know. I mean let's be fair. The Falcons defense was very bad. I'm not sure the Falcons are gonNA make any drastic changes on Monday morning, but Arthur blank can feel great about seeing this happen. On his seventy eighth birthday and. I believe I'm not mistaken not the only person celebrating birthday on Sunday. Having Birthday Pamela. Day Pablo. Yeah this is a hard way to discover that you share a birthday with the owner of the Atlanta Falcons Bill, which feels like you just cast a pox upon my house.
Mitch Trubisky Expected To Start As Chicago Bears Quarterback Over Nick Foles
"Let's start off talking about your pal and my pal super bowl fifty, two hero nick foles and when. The Chicago bears traded for Nick foles over the off season for a fourth round pick we all largely assumed it would be to replace Mitchell trubisky as the team starting quarterback. Otherwise, why do you go out and trade for Nick Foles? Mitch Trubisky is a pretty bad quarterback in the Chicago offense. Last year was pretty dreadful with Mitch Trubisky as signal caller and the two were. They were involved in some kind of quarterback competition this summer in training camp everyone I think myself especially just figured Nick foles would win that job. Well, NFL DOT com reporting that trubisky has beaten out nick foles for the starting quarterback job in Chicago. Remember all that talk about whether the eagles should keep foles or go with Carson wentz. Now, he can't even beat out Mitchell and I love Nick foles this is not me bagging on Nick foles but I'm finding it hard to believe that Nick foles doesn't look better in Camp Than Mitch Trubisky you Mitchell Trubisky is literal. Well, listen to the numbers. Okay. The bears offense averaged seventeen and. A half points per game last year and ranked in the bottom five points per game and in total yards. Okay. Trubisky through for thirty one, hundred, thirty, eight yards, seventeen touchdowns, and ten interceptions. He's a terrible quarterback he looked like he might be improving in two thousand eighteen he played pretty well in the bears playoff loss to the eagles especially at the end of the game when he made some big plays, but he regrets terribly in two thousand nineteen. That's Chicago offense was awful and Trubisky was one of the big reasons why only seventeen touchdowns on the season? There's a reason there's a reason the Chicago bears went out and got nick foles. And Nick foles has a higher ceiling the Mitchell trubisky. You can't tell me what after what we saw Nick Foles do in that playoff run in two thousand seventeen that he doesn't give you a better chance to win. Unless Nick foles arm is falling off for or age has really set in in a big way with Foale's we don't know because we haven't been able to watch any preseason games. So we have no idea what's going on in matinees training camps and what's happening behind the scenes, but it's mind boggling to me that they're going to go with the guy who in Mitchell trubisky you know what he is by this point and you know what Nick foles can do. Both of these guys have a low floor. There's there's no question we've seen nick foles when he's not on play terrible football he's not a good quarterback when he's in one of his slumps but when he's hot. There are few that can match nick foles can do when Mitchell trubisky is hot. It's only slightly better than not. So Great Mitchell trubisky what and we just to think about what Nick Foles did in those two playoff games in the NFC championship game, and then in the Super Bowl to do what he did on that stage and the love that his teammates have for him I just it's a it's a very curious decision by Matt. Nagy and the Chicago bears to go with Mitchell trubisky over nick foles but that's the decision they've made I think. Long Story, Short Nick Foles my prediction will start more games than Mitchell trubisky this year when all is said and done nick foles is probably you're starting quarterback not long after the season begins and my guess is if he stays healthy nick foles starts more games than trubisky this year. Because I know the bears aren't really that smart and I know they they sunk a lot into trubisky drafting him when they did. But at some point, you just got to cut the cord move on I i. We don't know what's been going on in training camp at. Nick foles must've looked really bad in training camp for them to go with trubisky over him.

And we're not talking about bears football today. The wait is over the English premier league. The most Popular Sports League in the world is back after a one hundred day hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic Roger I'm sure you've been getting your fix from Bundesliga but I have to imagine the return of English. Soccer is hitting a little different for you. One hundred days feels like one hundred years to be candid. I've been staring at squirrels running up trees in the park, and feeling the adrenaline burst of a run through midfield, watching raindrops charge down my window and feeling just an incredible wing-play into play of missed from the primarily, but yes, it's back today with its global ratings I mean in Britain for much of Europe for much of the rest of the world outside of the United States, it's kind of a seismic as the NFL and the NBA rolled into with the Pantheon of heroes and villains to moments of glorious ecstasy, searing dispath fuse with dodgy haircuts snack tattoos. One hundred days off. When are going to have ninety two games scattered almost daily over the next couple of weeks. It's coming back because we love it because we miss it. It's coming back for. Hard news commercial reasons ultimately to an economic decision. It's going to come back and ghost game situation where it's fabulous. It's going to be different. The lack of an audience will have an impact on the football. We watched, but most importantly it is going to be good enough. It's GonNa. Be Great enough to connect us to a ruling global conversation and that's ultimately I think. Think we will miss about sports as our calling them. Ghost Games I hadn't heard that got left the Germans. They have a name for everything. Lay. They Call Them Guy Bela. And that is what they will be. Sam Darnold knows a thing or two about those back to English premier league, so we hit positive with most of the season done with exception of Liverpool they're. They're still to be decided. The top half of the table. Seven teams vying for five spots determine who will qualify for Champions League and Europa League which for those who don't know are the midseason European tournaments to be held next year. Roger Liverpool have clinched Champions League. Spot Manchester City has of course been banned from Champions League for Breaking Financial Fair play rules so that. That spot remains open despite city being second in the League. Right now. Arsenal wolves Chelsea Menu Lester Tottenham Sheffield all in the mix. What are you expecting to see from the top of the table? When the race for Champions League qualification, which is a bit like football's march madness, it's big tournament in which the best teams in the world. You're rail, Madrid, your boss Alana's. Para Sanjay Man's by Munich's compete all. Big English teams won't be in that for brand reasons for competitive reasons for commercial reasons and is. And completely wide open at the bottom of the table. All say English football has some Incorr- ellegation, which is if you watch game of thrones? It's a bit like the moon door. Teams get flung through that in baseball, the worst teams every year like the Orioles in the mall in which is flung out of the major leagues, the mooted, and in that place. We had the Tulsa drillers around rook. Rook Express and that is, it's a searing. It is a haunting. It is a savage palm of the global football tradition, and you have six teams at the bottom who are fighting to avoid what can be economically devastating their revenue roughly hauls flung out. 49ers decline on Solomon Thomas, Chicago Bears decline Mitch Trubisky option
"The forty Niners went ahead and told Solomon Thomas well yeah we like it but not that much with the chance to pick up his fifth year option beyond twenty twenty they did not which was to be expected why commit money to a guy maybe that you you know think maybe you could spend elsewhere now same thing happened to Mitch Trubisky this weekend with the Chicago Bears Sabah those two guys who are so linked together in the draft neither of them has had their fifth year option picked up so sometimes will be on the Niners this year because is that that is the final year of his
Report: Nick Foles Traded To Chicago Bears
"It the bears have been pretty active the last two days trading for a quarterback adding defensive line help the quarterback Nick Foles acquired yesterday from Jacksonville the bears wanting a veteran presence to push Mitch Trubisky coming off a third year regression Foles who played only four games for the Jaguars arrives with nine seasons under his belt in history with the bears coaching
Jaguars ship Nick Foles to Bears, one year after signing him to $88m deal
"Radio Brady of course not the only quarterback who's on the move this week Evers teddy Bridgewater Marcus Mariota and now Nick Foles balls is heading to Chicago the bears pulling off a trade with Jacksonville Chicago gives up a compensatory fourth round pick in return for getting Nick Foles so what happens now in Chicago here's our Mike Tannenbaum and feel gates there's a restart because in in our last show we had a debate about whether we think this is Nick Foles job immediately or whether we think this is competition to pursue the starting job and he admits will battle it out during offseason workouts if we have them and then eventually during training camp if that goes on as scheduled I look at it like this the bears were settling if they stuck surface did that with Mitch Trubisky yep the rosters to well fortified in too many spots and there were too many obvious concerns and trade you're right right pace may forever have to live with the idea that he took Mitch Trubisky ten slots ahead of Patrick Mahomes and deshaun Watson we get and traded up one of the first round pick to move up one slot to get him really I'm just gonna put but it's over it's done with that I've been two thousand and seventeen fun ways to win football games and salvage I mean it and we talk about this during lunch again the like you know Matt Ryan pays to be feeling the heat a little bit right now right he knows he's got to win this year and this division is not a cake walk you've got a good Vikings team made the playoffs last year an actual Packers team within its energy efficient game last year this is not an all in move but this is a movie you have to make to put yourself back in the mix to be competitive and allow yourself to playing January football Soldier Field again they had to make so I had to make a move etrade you said what is it on the play calling which basically was a three year starter they had one winning season when I was at the Dauphin two years ago were playing against him we want him to throw the ball down the field to the left he couldn't do that he he was thirtieth in the league in average yards per attempt that's a critical statistic that compresses the field and the other thing about Ryan pace the fields point which is your locker room keeps your general manager there is a check and balance they have a championship defense to Ryan pace's credit he could walk into that locker so he felt we could go win with Mitch Trubisky after we have three years of a sample set now you walk and say Hey this guy's won a Super Bowl we have a real chance now it injects energy into that whole program it also has three years left on the contract with twenty one million guaranteed the falls also has the ability now to avoid the deal after either of the first two years in Chicago depending on his

Lamar vs. Deshaun: Dual-Threat Duel
"Dummy Foxworth is a former. NFL Player in a writer. At the undefeated undefeated Dominique Texans at Ravens Shawn Watson versus Lamar Jackson. I M extremely pumped to watch this football game name I mean how could you not like their playoff implications about like the first round by then you have to. MVP caliber quarterbacks going face to face race is not even that they are officiant are exciting. Like Lamar Jackson is spending people out of their shoes back. And I got a touchtone school into Shawn Watson taken feet to the face and throwing touchdown passes swatted. Betty goes down. We stay so to speak. This might be the most exciting game of the year. Well let's back up. This is not the first time these two quarterbacks have played what happened during their last match up as they played against each the other twenty sixteen in college we have a QB dual death Valley Malabar Jackson sensation in the sport but Shawn Watson. Is this delete veteran. Lamar Jackson Accent was at Louisville. A Lot less talented Louisville going up against Clemson and it was everything that you wanted Jackson Jackson. What's the pocket staff? Lived up to the. Both of those guys had great games. I think Jackson had nearly the three hundred yards passing any at one. Hundred sixty yards rushing touchdowns rushing one passing. Scores Standing at Louisville is walk. You're right back in this game and Watson won the game with over three hundred yards passing and five touchdowns through the air. In Ninety one yards rushing fires back the open it was a great game was close. Lamar Jackson and his team came this short of the end zone Jackson. Listen it go back then in two thousand sixteen. What was the perception of both of these quarterbacks like I mean Lamar was Ryan? Pretty high ended up winning the heisman trophy. That year and does Shawn Watson didn't do too bad himself want a national championship that year. I think people were very very the high on both of them right. well as I mentioned Sean went out and won the title. That year seemed like a no brainer that he would be A starting caliber. NFL quarterback a sure thing and yet the draft comes around and he falls to number twelve. He was picked behind. Mitch Trubisky and Dan Patrick Mahomes what happened. I don't know it didn't make sense because he didn't just win the National Championship. He came from behind throwing the ball through the air. Picking apart art the Alabama defense which was loaded with NFL talent. It seemed like what more do you want and then the very next year. Lamar Jackson also faced faced skepticism. When it came to his prospects in the NFL there were some respected people at this network and elsewhere who thought that maybe his best chance at succeeding being in the NFL was to play receiver which just made absolutely no sense? heisman trophy quarterback who wasn't running the option in college. He was running a pro style offense essentially at least a passing place. Where pro style? Why anybody would think that he needed to switch? Physicians was dumbfounded. You and I washed him very closely closely. Dominique ahead of the draft. We actually wrote a piece together about what it would take for him to succeed in the NFL. What was your conclusion from doing that? We look more deeply into a player's background in on field performance than I had with any other player and I remember being surprised at how developed a pocket could passer he was because all his highlights highlights that resonating. Your mind are him running so you think well maybe. He's like a running quarterback but no the criticism about him was not at all about his ability to read defenses or run a pro style offense. The criticism about him was about his accuracy which is fair but he was much further along as far as being. NFL Pro Ready Ready quarterback than most guys will get kind of tagged with that dual threat right. I went to his day in Louisville for our peace to do some reporting what did strike me about being there was during his throwing drills seeing how bad his wide receiver rose war they were dropping passes right and left. Yeah and I would think that. Having living bad receivers frankly or just generally mediocre talent would bode well for him in the draft process. That people would recognize that he was that entire program. I am all the success that they had while he was there was because he was great. And it's interesting that you bring that up because somehow teams looked at him and didn't appreciate that and then they looked at Shawn Watson in maybe poverty why he slid was because they had so much talent at Clemson. So like People looked at Shawn Watson and they might have seen maybe a guy who was just orchestrating a bunch of great talent and not a great talent himself. I'm not sure how they could watch the film and come to that conclusion. At the time I remember being kind of confused by but I don't understand Dan. How else do you select him behind? Somebody like Mitchell trubisky. Dominic what do you remember from watching the two thousand eighteen draft Well first of all I remember I remember watching it in a dark room with you and Bristol doing some sort of live show. It was really fun. And I remember Lamar Jackson showing up in that beautiful green suit and and feeling optimistic about him landing on a team early because I frankly thought he was the best quarterback in that draft and then watching him slowly. Sit there and all the time passing by and I remember thinking that. There's no way that they're going to let this heisman trophy. Winning Uber towns at quarterback. Go into the second day but the ravens swooped in and grabbed him with thirty second. Pick in the two thousand eighteen. NFL draft the Baltimore. Ravens Select Lamar Jackson in Louisville Right. Meanwhile I'm sure that he was uncomfortable in that moment and he did not enjoy sitting there in the green room with the cameras. Keep checking on his side face but it worked out because I don't think that he would have the success as in many other teams. You use the word confused to describe your reactions to watching these quarterbacks drop in the draft but really I I think you have some thoughts as to why it happened now. Oh Yeah I wasn't confused. Shocked said that because I seem like the right to say hey. I'm black man. I'm very aware of the the unconscious. Or maybe sometimes conscious bias that that goes into the decision making that happens in football and sports beyond that it just as difficult when you assume that there's so much riding on making the right decision that people have a difficult time getting past whatever biases. They are to try to succeed. So I'm not surprised. I think those those players that are brought up earlier like the contrast I bear I think makes it more glaring than anything else is like when you look at Lamar Jackson Deshaun Watson. Why are you more prone to see someone like rg three your career path? That's not successful than you are to see a career path of a quarterback who did succeed. There's just kind of faulty narrative out there that I think a lot of people whether knowingly or not kind of ascribed to is that mobile or athletic dole thread are or frankly just black quarterbacks. Don't don't pan out when they get to the

"It's only a game until you bet it on bet GSI. All right. Welcome back to the rich Eisen show. And welcome to the program. The quarterback of your Chicago Bears on behalf of gone rogue, which I believe will explain shortly. He's known other than Mitch Trubisky. How are you, sir? I'm doing great. How you doing? I'm good. Of course. So I guess this is the first thing we gotta get to Mitch or Mitchell. Let's get let's get right to it here. What is it? What are you said? Mitch Trubisky Silla stick with. No, no, don't be like that. Because I think you know know, is it really cool. It's cool. Are you? Sure. I really everybody. Does that mine? I was just telling somebody earlier how I've just I got so many nicknames the Mitch Mitchell. Go I'm kinda behind me. I'm like a deal with the nicknames. Now, it's either money. Mitch TRU okay. Mr. biscuit, all these Greg, Mr. biscuit, Mr. biscuit, where did just we'll just Bisky like it doesn't matter. No, I well. Well, I mean there are short versions of my name that people would never say to my face, you know, so they might say behind my back. So I guess in that respect I'm a little touchy on on what people call me. Doesn't matter because we heard when you came out of I guess from between years one and two it's Mitchell. Like, that's what we heard media. But didn't come from you. Well, that's always been my name. And then when I got drafted they just wanted to shorten it, which I was cool with. But people thought I had a problem with it, which I didn't. So okay. Was like so I was like if it's Mitchell if it's Mitch I'm going to answer to either one I as long as my last name, slow Trubisky. I'm good with it. Okay. Well, this is a radio simulcast. So if you don't mind every now, and then when I reset the conversation who I'm talking to them to use a different version is that fine. Do your thing. Okay. Okay. I'm here with Bisky the bears quarterback here on the rich Eisen show. Okay. So what what is life like for you right now here in in early may getting set for your third season in the NFL? Walk me through what life is like for you. That's awesome. It's really good to be back in Chicago with all with all the guys back in town just working through as going through year three for me. But really you're too and this often so just getting all the guys back. You've added new pieces this all. Season. We're very excited to pick back up where we left off. And we'll just got a chip on her shoulder by working really hard. And there's a new goals and expectations said and into this year. So there's a lot of excitement around the team, and we're just going to build off that chemistry and the that great team bomb. We got going and then see what we can do this year. So they extended three high which can be more answer this offseason has into season. So, you know, the conversation is certainly in the NFL last few years young coach come being brought in specifically to bring along a highly drafted quarterback going from year one year to the Los Angeles Rams did it for instance, everybody trying to get the same version of that. It's certainly looks like Matt Nagy was the perfect guy at the perfect time for you. What would you say to that? I would say absolutely we've been very lucky to have coach Nate. He's one of the best. I've been around if not the best just. Absolutely genius. When it comes to offense and Colin plays. But he's an even better person. Just how he is on a personal level is passion for the game. How he cares about his players whose competitiveness how he motivates guys and unites the team and brings everyone together he's the I kinda ask for a better got to play for and he he came in. He and brace me from day one..

Go with the rabbit classics. Oh, wow. I'm sorry. Roy is in very hurt by this necessarily. Oh, we gotta go way back with this one is a hotdog a sandwich. No, it's a hot dog. Wow. These are very definitive answers that he's giving us. And this is him coming strong with his opinions. What else you got Billy? All right. Mitch mitch? Okay. Let me ask you. Let's say your hand each one of your fingers was a dispenser of a condiment which five condiments. Would you have your hand? Dispense. Honey mustard buffalo ranch. And and read have been gret. Where's barbecue mayo? Now Mitch we had a little debate on this is butter a condiment because if you gotta use butter because the way we played the game was you could only have these five condoms for the rest of your life. So you have to a big decision and is butter on. Do you want to change any of your answers? Mitch you seem to be badgered about this. So would you like to any of your answers? Are you going with those five I would have? Yeah. I wanna change them. How would you gotta add salt and butter in there. He got a so then you gotta talk what you taking out out. I would take out ranch. And Honey mustard. Okay. So is that he's very quick decisions. He makes very quick decisions. He's very decisive here. I I would have to go with gone rogue high-protein ships. I've got the best ship out the right now because it's seventeen grams of protein per day, and they got four great flavors chicken taking chicken teriyaki, buffalo style and barbecue out there right now. And it's it's crunchy like a chip except it's healthy. And it's got a lot of protein in it. So it's kinda like they it's smoked lean chicken. "Tim kurkin knows more about baseball than anyone. I know he is modest about this. But I believe there's a question on this board. And if you wanna be on this board, seven eight six four five six eight three seven that. He might not be able to answer about baseball show Robert a Mets fan since nineteen Eighty-four you're on ESPN radio. What do you have for Tim coaching? Two questions. Number one. Jacob degrom. His last name is not capitalized. Why number two has ever been a pitcher to still play a call you guys next week manana curve because they grow for as the sun. What end is a curved because they're they grow toward the sun. All right. What do you can you answer? Either of those questions him. I'm certainly picture has stolen home before. But I don't know who that picture is. Remember, there were a lot of sales a home in the early nineteen hundred twenty different game was played type route so home like seventy times in his career Garrick stole home like twenty times in his career. So it was done a lot. Then you have to think of pitcher at some point did it. Although that's a very good question. And I'm not sure why do Grimes spells with a with a lower case D, I guess just I'm not sure how that works. But of course, Travis Dr knows on that team until recently. And I believe at one point they had three guys who sell their first name with lower case. And they had to take a p from a capitalized P and turn it upside down to make it look like a lower case D because the uniform the equipment guys didn't have enough lower. Or case Deeks what a great question and even better answer, Tim why were there so many people stealing home plate in the old days? Like what changed? Well, what changed is we we hit home runs now. So the risk reward of trying to steal a base and being put out when you have twenty seven out when the next eight guys in the lineup might are all capable of hitting a home run. This is what changed along the way is a whole little ball. Let's fun. Let's deal. Those days don't exist anymore. The Blue Jays had three sacrifice months last season. "Mitch Trubisky finds out that he will. In fact, be headed to the Pro Bowl later this week. With Jared Goff still playing for something a little bit bigger a bigger bowl of the two that paved the way for Mitch Trubisky. As you've watched this young man here in Chicago play in his second season to be even in consideration for something like this speaks to the evolution and on the path maybe a positive one that he is on right now how impress were you with him the season and how good can this young, man? Be. I was very impressed with him this year. And I think Maggie has done a fantastic job of bringing him along very similar in my in my opinion of the way that Andy Reid has has treated Patrick Mahomes. And and because the style of coaching is very similar is they wanna make it extremely simple. Make these throws continue. Don't don't hurt your football team. Let let let things happen. Let things evolve. Now, they may progress it different race. But I think Nagy is getting the most out of Trubisky and and his maturation, and I love listen fellow tar heels, you don't pull informed. No matter what. But I think he has proven, you know, as the year progressed they can win they can win it all with him. They they get a bounce the right way or whatever it looks like they're continue to move on the defense. They Bill pace has done a good job. And do a good job. This is the team to look for in the future. And and you gotta love when you have a young guy at that position. Who's made some throws like he made this year. You gotta be. Excited about him. Hey, last one you played in the league for a long time that we were discussing this earlier, Tom Palacio from NFL network tweeted this drama as senior bowl week begins. Western Illinois, D, tackle Kaelin Saunders. Also known as the three hundred twenty palm backflip guy just found out his fiancee went into labor in Chicago. I'm told they discussed this possibility. She's not doodle January thirty one and agreed if she goes into labor he needs to stay right there at the senior bowl huge opportunity laser locked that was the tweet. So where are you as a former NFL, our I don't know if you have kids I have never asked. Okay. You do. This is just committed. Follow your footsteps. Absolutely. Yeah. As a receiver man headed that way. Congratulations. Go to play for old Mack Brown. Just like you. Okay. So this kid he is not coming from North Carolina. He's not coming from Notre Dame. He's coming from western Illinois where he's the twenty third ranked D tackle in the field right now for this draft. What would you say to him if he said, hey, my fiance, and I are on board together that I'm going to stay and try and get this opportunity for our future. Others say X your kid. You gotta leave man at one of the toughest questions. You could ask. I mean, I I think about if he you know, he and his is beyond say in the mom of of his of his child. I think whatever they've agreed to I'm I'm going to support that would be a tough thing for me to do to miss my child's birth. And I can understand people saying, hey, you know, you need to be there. And maybe he and his fiancee see this as a chance to better the life of this job. And so they're willing to take the risk of of her possibly having the child may. But I I am I am not India for that decision. Good heavens. Man. I mean the way to that four kid, but, but that's a lecture whatever he decides support him either way, whatever he and his wife decide or decide is the best thing for them. "Mitch Trubisky. Dan, how you feeling today? I'm great. How are you guys? We're we're doing well still trying it's Friday, but we're still trying to get over. This loss. What was your before we get into mentioned kicking and everything as a guy who grew up here as a guy who covers this team? What was your big takeaway from Sunday's game against the eagles? I think they just left a lot on the table. You know almost a week removed from the game. Nobody can convince me that the eagles are a better team than the bears. I think that there was just a series of you know, plays and just situations that the bears just frankly, either didn't make the play or we're just uncharacteristic in those moments. So I think that that that's the biggest takeaway from me. I think that they should be playing this weekend. There's no doubt about it. If I were to told either of you before the game that the defense was gonna hold the eagles to sixteen points. Like all right, call the bears are advancing onto you know, Los Angeles the next week. So it was unfortunate. It got reduced down to the Cody parkey kick 'cause we actually talked on our podcast, what would be the worst case scenario. And that was the worst case scenario we came up with. But I mean, it shouldn't have come to that point. Probably the easiest way to say Jan with no disrespect meant to the eagles. Why weren't they the bears? That is why weren't they up for the task on an all three facets of again. You know, I I've I've struggled with that myself. I think a lot of it to me comes back to the offense is performance in the first half of the game. Think that they they really were, you know, stealing the eagles out for the most part in the first quarter. But yeah, I went back and do kind of like a deep dive of of Jim Schwartz. And I thought he would be himself. And he was he was he he's been a guy all year who doesn't bring pressure. He's he was as zone based coverage scheme that game. And he didn't alter from the only wrinkle that they throw into the game plan was they played with a little bit more dime personnel. And that means they got six defensive backs in the field. So a little bit more speed. And the reason that they did that is they wanted somebody to pay attention to Tariq Cohen, but they also wanted to be able to shrink down those those passing windows from Mitch make him think about who's my read on this anticipate when he's going to be open and get the ball out there. And that's something that Mitch has. You know, he's he's evolved. But you saw it in the Rams game. Here the same difficulty with it in that game. But I I. I just thought the offense should have been a little bit more aggressive in the first half. And they were it was very clear to me early on that they weren't going to be able to run the ball. But you know, I talked about this in the pre game show. You had an opportunity to go after rookie cornerback in aponte Matic's who gave up a half foot to Allen Robinson. And he showed you. He was willing to jump routes. He jumped one that was a near interception. The one where they ruled that he was out of bounds. He almost caught one pass the flats from Jordan Howard. So that's just bagging for a double move. And it took until like the end of the third quarter to get to that. I thought he should have been getting to the the vertical concepts much earlier in the game. I agree. Dan was this a microcosm this game for Mitch? Specifically, there was some bad as you mentioned in the first forty minutes. And there was some really good in the last twenty minutes. It kind of highlights the entire year for him. I mean, there were some really bad moments that left you scrap scratching your head. And there were some other moments that leave you very very optimistic about the future. Yeah. That's exactly how I. Characterized it, you know, and and the piece that I wrote this week I thought it was not only a microcosm of the season for Mitch. But just the team in general, but but getting back to focusing on Mitch for a moment. You know, when I think about like the adjectives that I've affixed fixed his game performances this year the most it's been inconsistent in on even seen flashes. You've seen moments. Like, oh now, I see what they they saw this guy. And why their evaluation of him was higher than, you know, Shawn Watson and Pat Mahomes, those guys, but the the thing that's still is is concerning to me is how predetermined things need to be for him in order to be successful. Everything needs to be right. So when they're when they're going through in practice periods up to that week. Maybe they practice something against like a cover for Sheller a cover to show, and then he gets covered three or he gets cover one. He he has a taste, and you can see him when he has his little hitch in this throwing motion and that disconnects is lower body and his upper body that's been passes sale. That's when they get there late. So you you need to see him just become a quicker processor of information. Get your pre snap. Look. No. There might be a rotation. Who are you looking for in that rotation to give you okay? Pre snap. They showed this now. All of a sudden, they showed me one high. Now, it's too high. Okay. Cool. I know I'm going to avert my eyes from this area the field. I'm coming back to the backside or I'm coming to the front side. And my read those things just need to become second nature, and they aren't this is a guy who had played signaled into him from the sideline in college, which is big. And I think people need to realize that and last year with with Dowell loggains, which is frankly, not given the proper coaching so very early on in his career. But then you saw when they started going on field. He started making some throws. And the thing that I liked was the heel injury did hinder his ability to scramble, but it also forced him to make place from the pocket. And that's what you want to see as far as being a long term solution in the NFL you have to make gross in the pocket. So his heel injury forced him to do that. And he did make those so some good and some bad. But with the defense like this unique consistent play from your offense for four quarters, which they frankly just didn't get against the eagles. It's Waddell and sell the commercial free four o'clock hour on ESPN one thousand Dan Durkin is a great writer for the. He covers the film work is good as anybody in town and talking about this. If you had to sum it up like Nagy, Nettie said Chicago's should be happy that they have Mitch Trubisky. Do you agree with that? Should we all be happy where he is at the end of year two? Maybe I I'd say Chicago should be happy. They have Matt Nagy. I think that's probably how I would imagine that statement. I I mean to me, it's it it shows me that Matt knows that he has the raw skills to work with Mitch. So I mean, if he's going to say something like that, then I'll trust him the one thing that that I wrote in there as I am completely confident the bears got it right with the coach. There's there's there's no doubt that that Ryan pace got it right on his second coaching. I'm confident that the bears got it, right? With Trubisky the athlete. I'm not confident that the bears got it right with cubic quarterback. So I I'm skeptical of that statement. But if Matt says it I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt as an offensive mine and as a developer of quarterback, I think I just felt like football soulmate. I mean, I think we're the step brothers of NFL or Mitch Trubisky evaluation because I think everything you just said Sylvie, and I've talked about on the air and off the air for the entire year. I look at niche, and I see an athlete still playing the quarterback position. How confident I guess this is just building on the question. Sylvie asked you. How confident is it that he can segue into being an athletic quarterback instead of being the athlete playing the quarterback position? And how confident are you that these flashes that we see will eventually evolve into consistent success? Yeah. It's it's hard for me to take the leap at this point in time. Just because when you think about how how well he protected the ball down the stretch and then in the playoffs with like your own mortality looking at you. When the clock says zero that that that that's the reality. One of those teams done playing football that weekend. How he put the ball in harm's way multiple times in the first half just completely unnecessarily and in moments where it's like you're gonna get points on this drive as long as you don't turn the ball over those are the things that scare me because I mean, you've seen that repeatedly throughout their those just needs to be to use like a computer now like erased from his memory like they needs to be taken away. And I don't know how you do that. So I mean, I'm eager to see what what happens. But when it comes to like maturing in Matt system, there isn't going to be this like exponential job. You see the progression of somebody like Donovan McNabb back when he started with the eagles or Alex Smith when he started with the cheese. It took a few years for that installation really to work and then from for them to really ascend. So I think that this is a multi year process. But regardless of that the window to win for this team is now so Mitch has to take a big step next year. I still think there's some pieces this team needs on offense. I think they're offensive line. Got pushed around quite a bit by the eagles. I think that they need a speed running back. So there are some elements that are missing from this team that would assist him for sure. But for me, it really comes down to are you willing to take the hard coaching? Are you willing to make these things reflexive because right now, they're frankly not? Interview conducted on today's Waddle and Silvy show and we play for you on the post game show. Catch.

"With and alongside. I gotta be. I mean, I'm not doubting the knowledge. I mean, he's obviously proven at the physician that he is in. Now, there's that's without question. Even with Tom Brady. Number eight is not the only person on the offense. He has to work with. But I just don't get it overall joy with news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by heard about some. I'm never going to jump out of a plane. Gallon look right at the camera. Now, I'm never going to jump out of a plane. But if I decide to jump out of a plane, I'm not getting in the plane going up to ten thousand feet and then chickening out like when I make a decision to jump out of a plane someday. And I won't, but if I did I wouldn't be one of those people. The talks about it prepares for it goes up and then chickens out some things in life. If you make a decision, you gotta go all in K. You can't pull the Mark Jackson in that game. Stop it. Why not pull Mitch Trubisky? When you make it a citizen to run this offense. You are all in on this. The ravens have acknowledged. We're going to draft quarterbacks going forward to play like Lamar we're gonna draft offensive lineman. They're a little smaller and a little little leaner, and they're a little faster when you make a commitment. And I don't think this is sustainable to win a Super Bowl. I agree with Trent Dilfer. I don't think Mitch Trubisky and Lamar Jackson if they're gonna win the Super Bowl be the next two years. He's not paying him anything. Once you got a Pam, and you can't have a great defense around him. You're not wanna Zuber bowls. But you don't you. This is so different. There is a reason if you go to watch if you pay one hundred bucks to go to a comedy show, they've got a comic and he an opening comic. And then you have the big comic. They don't have a poetry reading before a comic because you go to laugh. Okay. Certain things you go all in on. If you have Jerry Seinfeld. You open. You have a comic that opens for Jerry Seinfeld. You don't go get a punk rock band. Then Jerry Seinfeld. And a poetry you go on comedy that night at your arena. If you're gonna go with Lamar Jackson, and I don't know if I to me, this isn't what I think win Super Bowls over ten years, especially once you have to start paying quarterback like this twenty five million. You have an average defense, and you gotta win shoot outs. And you gotta play from behind, but you don't pull Lamar Jackson and Mitch Trubisky because they have bad half that by the way, John Elway's. Had Tom Brady's had if you wanna poll quarterbacks Tom Brady was awful against Atlanta in the Super Bowl for two and a half quarter. That's a great point. You can't pull core about you. Gotta go all in on the Mark Jackson. You gotta go all in on Trubisky. I wouldn't. I said Lamar's the second third round pick. You let them sit for a year. You see if you can develop him throwing and then he runs six seven times. But this idea that you gotta pull him because he had a bad half. Good. Hell, admittedly. It's a very bad time to have a bad half. Yeah. But that's those are the decisions if you may Peyton Manning against the Seahawks and the Super Bowl you watch that game. Tom Brady is the best example that Tom Brady's career was over after the first half of that falcons super. He was terrible watched. It's the end of his career. The patriots dynasty is over. I mean, everyone called it. All right coming up next. There is one one NFL playoff game. I feel very strongly about is for this weekend. Incredible..

"Like that. And they grew up wanting to be him. So they made their games like him. But the young quarterbacks we see taking over the league they play in a very different matter. They scramble out of the pocket. They launched the ball downfield. They're not afraid to throw interceptions. And there's a reason for that. They grew up idolizing someone else who they watch clips on YouTube, even after he retires that was Brett farve. And it's this distinct gap between these two generations, not only in terms of age. But in the way, they play and when you see six quarterbacks in the NFL were twenty five years old or younger in these playoffs. It sets up his fascinating contrast, not just in age. But in style, it's interesting because guys like Mahomes or go off some of the ones that really the younger side. I think of twenty five. We're still what in in high school or very impressionable ages watching a Tom Brady or perhaps a drew Brees. Yeah. When you think about what crew and fun to watch those guys can really pick apart that Tom Brady still surgically dissect the defense. He can throw a million eight yard passes over the middle. But you know, it's fun to watch. What's when you on YouTube when you wanna watch a classical gin? Brett Farr run all over the world. You wanna watch him the ball off balance like underhanded, he did every which way. And what's so interesting about it is Brett Farr when he did it was one of a kind, and it was supposed to be like, nobody else can replicate this. This isn't exactly how you're supposed to quarterback. This guy's just good enough to play in this crazy way. Well, now, this is entire generation guys. Like, well, we can play this way. And we're going to did you say that Brett farve actually practice like those off balance back foot falling down type throws. Yeah. And the, you know, everyone says you you want to practice like you play. And so once it's crazy like that's not how you're supposed to throw football. Why would you practice it? But if he's gonna be throwing the ball across his body if he's gonna be throwing the ball off his back. But if he's going to be scrambling, every which way it sort of makes sense to practice, and when you watch Patrick Mahomes play in particular, and you think about these guys. They play the same way Patrick Mahomes in strong enough arm. Like does that he can be rolling out who's laughing thrown to his rights? He can doesn't need to be on stepping into his grow the way someone else might have to simple Armstrong enough to do it. And when you look around the league, there's all these guys who've idolized, especially these young guys Mitch Trubisky in highschool.

"Goal Goldberg podcast Judas, eight o'clock get a better look at the Philadelphia Eagles who come to town three forty Sunday, then Kevin fish, paying the athletes. Nice enough to join us at around eight thirty got a couple of polls out there for you at ESPN one thousand on Twitter, and I had them up. And then I got rid of him and bring him back up here. I've got your back. How about this one? We put out there. And if you want to join the conversation at three one two three three two three seven seven six who will be the bears MVP on Sunday, there are three options and in other that you can choose your own. I think the three options that we have here are the three that I was going to give you before we put them out. There you go. So the options are Khalil Mack. Mitch trubisky. Tariq Cohen, I would rank them this way fried. I would go Khalil Mack one Mitch Trubisky three I would put Cohen number two. He was bad in the last game. You know, he was spell catching the ball and running backwards, but he's such a game changer. Well, yeah. And I don't like that when he's running the wrong direction. Returns because you know, what he's not crafty enough and not fast enough to be able to pull that off. Right. Devin Hester is really the only one who could ever do that. And then late in his career with the bears. He couldn't he would grounded. Right. So I think but tree coin on offense is such a dangerous weapon in such a help to Trubisky that the reason I would put Cohen to over Trubisky is not to say that Trubisky may have a bad game. It I think he's going to have the type of game that steady. Yeah. Cohen could really thrive with little dump offs in the backfield. Maybe he can go deep and maybe Trubisky can hit him on a deep route. Or maybe being a play in the special teams. But I think tree Cohen offensively is definitely going to be the guy and obviously Khalil Mack. I mean if this team's gonna get to Super Bowl it's because in the next three to four weeks, we're going to see Khalil Mack have two or three of his best games of his life. And if he does that this team will be going to. Yeah. There's a really good chance of that. The other ones we have two other. How would you? How would you vote vote? I might vote. You're you boy, I can't vote Trubisky one. But here's the key. You can't vote Bisky one because win this season. Have you seen him be the player on the field for this tight? He's been good. Yeah. And he's lead them offense. But I don't think any of us are confident that he's going to go out there and threw for four touchdowns in the eagles. Like, you know, what you don't have to. If for some reason if for some reason, the defense turns the ball over and gets the ball in great era. Great territory deepen the eagles territory. And he just throws a touchdown pass. There's one and another one there's two heavy runs in one while you throw for two and run for one. It's tough to not be MVP. But based on how you know what Khalil Mack does. And in order for a guy like Khalil Mack to be an MVP of a game. He still he's still got to have two sacks. And maybe a strip sack fumble recovery and something like that. That, you know, the change change the course of the game. It's not out of the it's not he did. Right. He did a lot of it earlier this year and the one guy, and we don't we don't have it on the list. We other guy that we talked about a lot earlier in the season. Now, he's on the field. All the time. Akiem Hicks has been playing unbelievable football in the second half of the season. Heck last three quarters of the season. He's been playing great great football. So he's another guy that Iraqi but close I on because you know, the Philadelphia is the bears are bears. Can't wait. The bears are eager to go on out there and keep Vic Fangio a little bit longer and this bears team. Yeah. I mean, I can't wait. Can't wait you walk around the city today you walk around the say all week and people are thirsty for a good playoff performance. And you know, you bring up Akeem Hicks, and he is entering that conversation. A beloved defensive bears and it takes time, right? He's going to have to perform well in big spots for years to come into that class with Lance Briggs. In Charles Tolman. But man, he has the personality. I think he gets the city share. I think we love watching him and the way that he works hard. And you can just see him dominating. It is fun to watch one of our other polls which unit will win the game for the bears on Sunday offense defense or special teams and our third one which third one a joke on that option. The special teams there are people joking with that you can't possibly think the special teams is going to win this for them. Right. Well, special teams could be Cohen at a punt return the unit overall in divas twenty-six in football. So like, listen, even though Cohen made all pro as a returner. Yeah. The the unit itself is not that great. And then you add in the parking kicking which is just going to give us all nightmares until we get the Sunday because heaven forbid he has to kick a big cake in the fourth quarter. Well, and that's what we are mostly saying. But out in flag valley Edwards got a different opinion. Edward what's going on. Yeah. This is Edward calling. I was gonna say the MVP for this. Sunday's bears game is definitely going to be Cody parkey. He's going to be on the money and he's gonna hit the game winner. House. How nervous are you going to be what he what he stepped up to try to kick any field goal or extra very nervous saying? This is this is the city where we don't allow too many failures. This is going to be his week for him. That's gonna make or break his his. As a matter of fact, Edward we appreciate the call must not be a bulls fan. I haven't heard that one Blitzer my entire life. But this is the city of we don't we don't allow for too many failures. Yeah. Well, you know, couple just a couple of failures. Pains finally gone. The last one I found it w throw it out there before we go any further. Are you worried at all about Sunday's game? Yes. A little nervous or not at all. I don't have voting right now. Revolt. Not at all not at all. Not at all. What was it to be nervous about you're playing with house money? This. Everybody says Philadelphia's playing with house money because they won the Super Bowl last year. So not many teams actually get to two straight Super Bowls much less win so loud, they're playing with house money. Plus, they don't have their quarterback again, they have Nick foles playing and things like that. It's all fair. But when you have the best defense in football, you go into every matchup with a a definitive edge that should allow you to compete in the game. You're not gonna get blown out. I think it'd be very, you know, we laid out all the possibilities. I think one of the possibilities. That would be the least likely to happen would be an eagles blow out of the bears. I agree because I think no matter what happens. The defense is going to be all the limit the eagles scoring. And I think there's something like the eagles having scored over twenty four points on the road this season. And don't you think the second one is I take a look for that. Don't you think that the second one would be the second least likely would be? The eagles. I mean, the bears blown out the. Yeah. The bears law in either way. Because I think the bears have only one three games on blowouts this year. Yeah. I would probably subscribe to that Fred. But I think it's going to be close either way. Chances are the bears are going to win this football game. They should there the Barrett team. Right. And you know, if you take a look at all the the entire roster. They're their team that should take advantage of what the eagles had the offer, especially if you look at that defensive front. If Trubisky can be accurate at all going down the field. The bears are going to be very successful offensively. The secondary is not the best for the Philadelphia Eagles. We'll talk with Vince Quinn from the goldbergs podcast. They actually haven't done too bad scoring on the road. I'm looking here at Tampa. They scored twenty one twenty three at Tennessee this thirty four against the giants at the giants twenty four Jacksonville police seven against New Orleans. Papa Twenty-three in a loss at Dallas thirty thirty against the Rams when they won that game. Right. And then twenty four nothing they beat Washington last week. So they've scored some points. The bears really have not blown a lot of teams out this year. And you don't expect this bears team too low a lot of people out because of what we've talked about with Mitchell Trubisky, not being the guy that's going to drop back and find his receivers and everything else. He he got what got him receivers. They got him. Alan robinson. They've got him Taylor Gabriel and think about it the first half of the season. It seemed like they were doing a lot more. And I think what you were saying earlier is you know, the way they've pulled back in this offense of going deep and doing a lot of different things. We didn't see Trey Burton for a few weeks. We didn't see Anthony Miller for a few weeks. He went three straight weeks where he had to targets one. Catch any came out here. Three receptions touchdown and at any ran the ball in his shoulder. One popping out. But they have so many weapons, and I gotta feeling you know, I understand that Philadelphia has a weapons among them alshon, Jeffery. And they also have Nelson and golden Tate. Zach herbs. Dan sproles? Yeah. Darren sproles Darren sproles Darren sproles soon to be in Colin because a lot of people have compared to recall into Darren sproles a healthy. Darren sproles is is a pest. He's a guy that can actually be a big thorn in the side of the Chicago Bears. That's one of the things I'm not really worried about deep passes. Another one of the stats again. We got them all over the place. The lowest completion percentage allowed at passes thrown at least twenty yards downfield. Pretty good number especially in this year's, you know, in in the NFL nowadays, the bears are number one. Twenty three percent patriots have twenty-six bills have twenty six Vikings Twenty-eight Cowboys twenty nine so the bears. Allowing just twenty three percent. Completion percentage eyeballs shown twenty yards or more downfield now falls is going to drill. Many of those throws some jump balls to alshon Jeffery throw seem routes to Zakar. It's and golden Tate and Nelson can catch the ball. And run. But the one thing that we've been able to see the bears do recently. They've only let it up twice. They did it against the Packers. They did it against the Miami. Dolphins is they did not tackle after guys caught the ball Albert Wilson ran wild and Cobb for Green Bay. But other other than that they've been tackling receivers after they catch the ball. You're going to have to do that with Zakar. It's and with Al Shahed Aguilar, and what's Golden State and golden Tate, especially because if you remember back to the dolphins game it wasn't like some six eight wide receiver. They couldn't bring down. No. It wasn't gronkowski out. There. Running down the middle of the field that they couldn't tack. How are you? I'm five eleven okay. You're you're three inches taller. Everybody people like me, we're running down the field. And that's what we saw Jackson struggle with. Where you look at golden Tate, Nelson Agla both really fast receivers and heck Darren sproles all these guys. They get the ball out in the flat or they cross catch it, and then they have room to run. That's where I would be concerned as a bears fan for the secondary. Because you're right, Fred they've done a better job in the second half. But all the the the issues early on were smaller wide receivers who were fast being able to get away from a safety or corner and bring all the break it and then like not allowing just that one guy to miss, but then three four five, and then all of a sudden you have a seventy yard touchdown. Yeah. You do with that. Hopefully that doesn't happen. Because those are the key things that'll kill ya. Not only early in the game. We're really get you down and gets, you know, maybe takes you out of the game a little bit. But also late in the game. You want to make sure you make those tackles, and I understand taking the ball away key thing. But the tackle comes first. You gotta make the tackle let the second guy. It always used to be. I guy make the tackle second guy convince transcript the ball. You don't want to see anybody trying to strip the ball without making the tackle it happens. Once in a while, we see it. It's happened in the past with fuller with Amos they've done it in the past. They've been better at it. I'm sure Vic Fangio's, but Hartford at it. And hopefully, they make the tackles, and that's going to be a key part of this game. I know it sounds stupid. It's football. Tackling is going to be important. It's very important. You know, Fred. You're a big soccer fan. And I know in soccer, they have advanced analytics and they look at heat maps. Yeah. To wear guys running. This doesn't really have too much to do with anything..
"mitch trubisky" Discussed on KNBR The Sports Leader
"Talking to my buddy, dad Halley the NFL network today. And he's big on quarterbacks in their first playoff game. Struggling three of the four games this weekend. Feature a quarterback who will play in his first playoff game. Mitch Trubisky of the bears against the eagles. Does. Shawn Watson for the Texans against the colts. At obviously Lamar Jackson has only playing like his seventh or eighth game against the chargers. And look at who's on the other side and each of those games. Lamar Jackson goes against grizzled veteran. Philip rivers to Shawn Watson goes against Andrew lock. He's been all the way to a native CFC title game. And Mitch Trubisky goes against the Super Bowl MVP. So big dichotomy. They're pretty interesting. Here's one thing. I'll say about the NFL weekend. I believe that the AFC Super Bowl Representative will play football this weekend. I'm not even one hundred percent sure who that will be. That's just my bet against New England and Kansas City. I do not think the patriots or the chiefs are going to the Super Bowl patriots to talent deficient at this point arc chiefs. Terrible defense will burn them at some point. The AFC Super Bowl entrant will play football this weekend. That's my belief in it may well be the chargers if they can simply get by this one game. Love the games this weekend. Really looking forward to wildcard week had have more on that coming up on tomorrow night show for sure as we lead you into the weekend today is also a very special day in forty Niners history. We'll tell you about that coming up in about ten or fifteen minutes. I'll Mark Willard here with you on these sports later, but let's get let's get juniors jots. All right FPJ. What are you? What do you? What do you got going on for us tonight here? But all right seniors joss, it's a weekly segment where I just got to get stuff off my mind. I just wrote down a couple of things for you. There's no point being in radio. If you don't use it to at times, get things off your chest. I agree. Why we do this? All right. Here's my first. I have for you. What if dating was like the NFL draft? Now, what do you mean by that? Like, you could actually draft your you could draft the people that you date. Yeah. You could tank. You can play. Well, and you know, maybe not get is taking like slump busting is that similar, I guess. Yeah. Same thing. Maybe get a couple, you know, bad dates who's doing the drafting. I would imagine you have to have a scenario where both men and women are drafting here. Okay. So everybody gets the draft. And so maybe you could have two years if you could just suffer through two years of really bad dates then boom on the other side number one overall pick. Okay. I like that. I could get into that. I was thinking not anymore. I married now. So it's it's you know, now, it's done. I was thinking about more of the lower echelon of I don't know, I guess people look spice, and maybe personality wise, just not a good personality. Not all about. Both. I got someone for you. By the way, she got a great personality birth, and then the upper echelon of the top and they'd have to date each other because it Santa fell draft. All right. So then you'd have everybody would kind of be in the middle. I gets cut a like a tournament like thirty plays one. Yeah. And twenty nine place too. So I guess you'd want to be that that fifteen fourteen matchup. Love right there. That's a perfect match. Yeah. You're that's the perfect one. Thirty matchup is where somebody looks in and goes late. I guys over his skis. All right. Let me ask you another juniors. Jots if dating was like the NFL playoffs. Okay. What do you mean by that? Just go head to head. So it'd be like the best of the best that you only get a date if you're one of the twelve best out of the thirty people. Really? Okay. So is it more realistic a best of the best? So like Brady Giselle. Yes. I mean that was realistic. I don't know. But who beats that couple? They they win the Super Bowl every year. Don't they? Yeah. The greatest of all time and the greatest supermodel of all time. That's straight out of the the teenage teenage movie books rights, Valentine's areas. All right. Here's another junior shots for you. What if every sport had a different name, then you know, it now? Oh, couldn't call baseball can call football hockey or baseball guy. What would you rename baseball bat ball? Stick ball. Stick Paul is kind of a a street sport. Yeah. Back in the day. I know they used to call rounders back in the day that was like a British thing. That's how it kind of morphed into baseball. Whether you should call it rounders. Yeah. See I know that as the poker movie, Matt Damon rounders you've never seen this. Now. See this is me am I dating myself right now, you would love this movie. Okay. This is not a dorky movie. It's just a little bit not yesterday. Mike. Let me look up rounders. How old is routers? It's not that old. But you're like twelve years old. So how old are you twenty three? So. Yeah. So for me, that's the I mean rounders came out in nineteen ninety eight. Okay. I was three years older three. But it's, but it's you know, it's hard some staying power like it rounders has its moments on cable or whatnot. You could have found it. I'll check it out. You would love it. You would love it, and it holds in other words, if you watched it day, you wouldn't be like this feels like it's twenty years old. That's huge for me by you. Do you like do you do appreciate Matt Damon at all? Okay. You'd love rounders. Yeah. Yeah. Just there's a very famous scene. Just remember teddy KGB. Okay. Well that one right down teddy KGB, and then go watch the movie, and then call me, do you know who John malkovich's, no crap? The F B. This is going to be the problem with you. And me, I you last night. You did that to me when you brought in the thing about LeBron's fit. And I thought throwing a fit turned out. You're talking about his outfit. I don't even think we have done millennial Monday be a goal of yours is just be like how old can we make Mark veal? Now, not even that old like I'm forty three. But I mean, she's. You don't know who John malkovich's, it's a symbiotic relationship. I look at it that way. Thank god. You went to UCS just like my wife did. So we have the we have that connection. And that saves us. We do. Okay. Here's the next two years who was the first person ever tabu. And who do you think it was? And why wait a minute the first person ever to boo or to be booed both both. I was just thinking about doing the other day. Like, I am. Yeah. I'm an hour. I don't like I will boo when the dodgers come to town. I don't like doing the home team never fan, and I will express my frustration in a different way. And the only time I would ever even consider doing a home team is if it looks like they're not trying because that's your responsibility to the paying customer. But it's not your responsibility to hit a home run. Every time. I want you to that's hard. Yeah. Right off season. Right. So I'm not I'm not in the one hundred who was the first her. Person to be booed. Man. I gotta feel like it was I don't know. Babe Ruth, Babe Ruth. Yeah. Because I mean wasn't. I think the homerun when it first when Babe Ruth came onto the scene. It was almost like people didn't like it was like, well, that's too easy. All these other guys have got a manufacturer, you know, three hits. And okay. So we're going to get a base that whole era, and then and then Babe Ruth would come up and just hit the ball in the seats. And it was kind of like they didn't like it at first. So I wonder if Babe Ruth was booed. I would say Babe Ruth because that's the first sports figure has to because he was the biggest of all time in the Red Sox can action. Right. And then the Bambi no other thought goes to like Jackie Robinson and people who kind of experienced it from that. Obviously jeers for horrible reasons about about that. Yeah. I was thinking more of a religious route. Maybe like Jesus Christ like when he was like getting pizza and stuff. It's a little darker people. Yeah. People didn't like his. Yeah. Or maybe like hell is this guy thinking? Actually, I am or maybe it was like an ancient Roman empire. Somebody just yelled out randomly crowd. Boo. That's catching. I do. Like this thought like how did it start? The people that are nailing him. Yeah..
