"Yeah, There's a lot of that call, and it's easy to gush. Like John did a little bit. I think it's interesting, too. Even though all the guys were healthy from where they were a week ago, they did shuffle the offensive line. Yes, Like Bucker starts in left guard, Feliciano flips over to right guard, which is the position that he manned weekend in week out. Last season when he didn't have to fill in at any point in time for Mitch Morris, which happened on occasion last year. But yeah, right guard was his spot last year. So they flipped him over to that side. Coach was asked specifically after the game about bugger and why the decision was made to put him in the starting lineup. It left guard. Coach essentially said, Look, He's a guy that comes to work every day. He's consistent with his approach. Like the program he comes from, You know, he's a product of Iowa of Kirk. Parents is, you know one of the best offensive line teachers in the college game. And you think about You know the separation between the college game in the pro game and all of these college programs that have their offensive lineman in two point stances in perpetuity. Almost every play of the game. There are guys have never put their hand on the ground when they get to the NFL. That is not the case in Iowa. They still run a pro style offense up there. They get the kind of teaching Translates very well to the pro game, and it puts those guys on a path to early success. Um But there's a guy that actually spent some time with Mitch Morris in Kansas City. The Bills had him here as a rookie. Chiefs plucked him off their practice squad put him on their active roster because they were short on players after a rash of injuries Mitch Morris actually worked with like Bucker in Kansas City. And then Kansas City got there. Guys healthy. They released like, but ER put him on waivers. Bills pulled him back, Got him back, and now he's in the starting lineup. Um, right. He's been here. He was here all the last year as well. So he's he's been around. He's got the program under his belt, and I think it It says something as well. You know, they just continue to get it done up there and they've been shuffled around a lot and winners went to the bench. Yes, they came back in When Feliciano went out winners comes back in starts playing garden and I was watched him on a couple of plays. He actually looked good. Against his Niners front, The Niners. I was really surprised They didn't want her to die. But not very much. They rushed four guys all night. I think I can only imagine that Robert Salas approach there or belief was Blitzing him is useless. His passer rating is through the roof against the blitz. He just rolls away from the pressure when we do blitz him, so I'm not going to commit extra guys to the The front. I'm going to commit extra guys in the back and hope that we can cover up with seven guys. They couldn't do it. They could. They could not do it. So Salah was very quickly out of answers. He tried a few blitzes in the second half. They didn't work. You got sacked one time. Joshed in there was there They had no answers. They were too thin on the back end, and he thought they needed to commit numbers to the back. And because of that, and they got torched. I mean, they got torched. Outright torched. Let's go back to the phones. Let's get to Tony and Rochester here, Tony, Welcome to the show. What do you have for us? Hey, guys, What's happening, man? How you guys doing today? We're doing good. Well, I'm a remember 10th Day of quarantine. No sorry to hear that. No, no, I'm doing all right, man. You know, because it could have been worse. Trust me. It could have been worse. All right. All right. Good luck the rest of the way with that. You know, I really get to see you guys because I'm always working, and I listen to you on the radio. But I must say, you guys, you guys look good to be on the radio. Well, that's nice. I've got the perfect place for radio Been told that we have perfect faces for radio. So thank you, Tony. Thanks, Tony. But listen, I mean, I just I don't. I don't. I don't have to see any more. You know what I mean? I was a little worried about what defense would do last night. Don't know. But it seems like the defense has has come back together, Man and I don't need to see any more. I'm not saying Super Bowl or anything. No, we gotta take it a game at a time. But I feel so good about this team right now, and there's no feeling. Like proving everybody wrong because as you guys know, we get so much disrespect locally and nationally. So The money like the money night run up. They had a spot where they brought in. I don't know if you guys know the movie Friday and the character Debo But last night, the Monday night Football, uh, cast brought in this this The character Debo. And they talked about how people Samuels was going to be the big bully and was going to do all this to the bills. I am. I don't know if you guys know about that the end of the movie. People got knocked the hell out. That's what I'll be finished dead last night, man. I'm just so proud of the guys. And you guys do a great show. And and I just wanted to say that. Thanks for listening..

"The film of the Games every week, Eric yesterday you mentioned and Maddy brought it up the running game. It emerged once again. We saw it against the New England Patriots and now Yesterday was very effective in in in adding to the lawsuit by the Chargers. Mitch Morse was back in the lineup. He was healthy. John Feliciano was held The Cody Ford was not, but Brian Winters was in there, and he's been in there quite a bit. And of course, both tackles have been stalwarts. Those guys have not gone anywhere all season, talk a little bit about all this. This offensive line. What do your thoughts on how much shuffling has gone on with the two guards in the center with the health and injuries that have happened inside there where they stand right now? In your opinion? Yeah, It's been a lot for that group. You know they each week, It seems like there's some type of issue with the interior offensive line. Knock on wood. Fortunately for the tackles, they've been able to be pretty much set in stone. All your Dion left a game for part for a little bit, But he was able to. I believe you've been just returned. And that same game so that tackles three snaps. I think he missed. Yeah, something like that. Yeah. So at tackle, they've been really consistent inside. There's been so much movement. One of the biggest issues you see is you see a phone Well yesterday between Josh Alan and Mitch Morris, which can happen when you're going back and forth between centers that was later in the game would be one thing. If it happened extremely early in the game, you'd say, Well, shoot. That's him working with a different guy with live wraps. It's different, taking a snap in a game with the nose guard barreling down you as opposed to in practice when it's not is intense, But, um, you know, I think I think the offense blinds played well this year for what they've had to do protection wise. With teams knowing that they're passing the ball so much. They're in a lot of 10 personnel, which isn't a lot of chips from tight ends. It's not tight ends releasing through defensive ends A lot of times. It's the five guys up front in the running backs. I'll give. I'll give Singletary especially credit. I think he's been great and protection, but but I think it's been A tough situation for them with all the moving parts, But you have guys that they know what they're doing and be have starting experience, even for the youngest of the group has a tremendous amount of starting experience these last two years. I gotta ask you this. There was a play that happened in the game, and I mentioned it on the broadcast. Um, the defensive tackle nose tackle for the Chargers jumps into the neutral zone and they were not going to the play was not going to get run. But Mitch Morse quick snap him. The flag comes out. Josh sees it. It's a free play. I called it. You know, I saw it happen. I said, Oh, my gosh. You got a free play, and that's the play they hit gave Davis down the far sideline on a free play. Nobody else on the team on the offense. Thought the ball was gonna be snapped. Mitch Morris Quick snapped it. Josh was ready for it. They got a free plane. Actually, a big play out of it. How much confidence is Mitch Morris have to have thinking that. You know, Josh could have been looking, you know, towards Cole Beasley Ord Steph digs talking to him or whatever. Mitch is not looking at him, but he snapped it. Gave him a free plane. No questions. So even if they fumbled around, whatever it is going to come back, But man Oh, man. That's a lot of confidence by Mitch Morris sending that ball back there in the shotgun, not known whether Josh is even looking at him. Yeah, that's that's a great point. And so generally, If it's a run play, you'll still want to get that place snapped. But if it's not right before the cadence, you don't snap that football cause disaster can happen on a run play under center, especially if it's a pass play. All those guys were thinking get down the field anyways, it's usually in most of their sight lines that receiver to see the flag thrown, especially if it's on their side. They'll know to take a free release down the field. And because of their not being fans in the stands this year, we've gotten to hear Josh Allen's hard counts, which he works a ton throughout the game. I can't tell you how many times in my career which we were always working with the new quarterback, always within often new offensive coordinator that we never switched up the cadence a lot because people were thinking so much about the actual play with their assignment was with their technique was These guys have so much experience together that Josh Allen is constantly working the cadence and he's gotten guys to jump on a number of times this year, and they're at the point Now where if Mitch is confident now you have. You're right, Steve. You have. If you're going to snap it without everybody ready, You have to know it's a penalty period. There's no question about it, and it's such a fine line because if the guy gets across the neutral zone and touches anybody, then the place dead, and if he's got a free pass with the quarterback to plays dead, so there's that tight window and it's a skill set. That's learned, but the centers that can do it Green Bay sticks out to be the most, too. No matter who's playing center up front for Rogers. They get 2 to 3 shots down the field, a game for free from people jumping offsides, and the bills are getting. I'm not saying they're getting 2 to 3 snaps free snaps down the field. But I've seen the number of third downs this year where they've gotten to be able to take a free shot. That's extremely valuable to get two shots and a third and medium to long. They're on their question about the offensive line. And just the way that this offensive line handled Joey both. So did you like their plan to handle Joey Bosa? I mean, he was free on one of those plays. It was the Matt Barkley sack that Matt Barkley took. How did you think of their game plan? Tol limit Joey, both and what he was able to do. He had a pretty great game against the bills, and the bills are surely Maybe not gonna face another jolly boats are Erin Donald down the way maybe in the playoffs, But, you know, we've got the 40 Niners coming up here. They've got a decent defense. A decent defensive line. We're gonna face of good defensive lineman here on out toe. To finish the regular season. Yeah, let me start with the Matt Barkley play. I like that. Mitch Morris owned up to that one. Whether it was truly all on him or not. He took the blame for that. Which seems to me that wherever the protection should have been slid, slid because of the pressure. They didn't go that way. And you could tell because he came completely free on that play. No one was counting for him. So you give him one sack there. Another sack that he had Josh moved left in the pocket away from him. It gave him a wider route around Darryl Williams, the right tackle, and he just kept running the hoop, and it was a coverage sack, So there's two of them Now Don't let me take away from his performance. Yesterday, he had six tackles for losses. Three saxophone, more recovery. He had a big impact on the game. Answer your question fully. I didn't love the fact that they weren't giving him whole lot of attention Early. Now that could be. You have to give some of the credit to the Chargers. You can oftentimes dictate the way the offensive line slides their protection where they could double team where they can chip by. Who else you bring in the pass rush where they're bringing those guys away from Joey Butta Posa, or they're bringing him with him so that he is going to get a one on one matchup. So you've got to give the charges some credit because their 2nd and 3rd best pass rushers were out. Yes, sir. Day. So with new Oh soo and Ingram out, they knew that they need to do some stuff to make sure that the bills couldn't completely focus on Bosa. So I'll say I didn't love their plan of attack against them. But you have to give the charge some credit, too, because they understand what teams are going to do to a guy like Bosa. Eric. Everybody sees these games differently, and they feel differently. When you know about the The team and moving forward. The bills come out with a 10 point win over a team..

"Let's let's have football every day, but yeah, all day every day. Yes, please. Please put it in me. I love it. I wish I could see I'm gonna have a crick in my neck thing. Bad savior. But the weather What do you want, man? Ah, I'd like to be back home with a vodka, My dogs and I watch TV easily TV right over here for you That would that would fix things and not the budget yet. We need a big screen retro. That's a good idea. Mitch Morris is the starting center before Buffalo. Here's a bit of irony. He usedto be for the Chiefs. He left the Chiefs. From many bucks to go to buffalo than the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. How many bucks many, many bucks many But many bucks in May and why not not am high and many, but, yeah. Ah, Does he get his revenge today? I don't think he's not. He's a really good guy. I don't think he's looked for event. She's got many bucks where it soothe the pain of not being a Super Bowl champion with Kansas City, But he's got a TV in every corner, so he doesn't know. Turns out, I could get a crick Crick in my neck. Are these the top two under 30 quarterbacks in the NFL? Ah, I mean, obviously my homes, but Josh Allen versus playing well, our generous ran for a first down Lamar Jackson. Marge action of your guy to us all the light of day o field. I understand. He didn't break any know I was so happy. Nothing, bro. He took that in. You see the footage after the game, he went out and just hung out on the field, like seven minutes by himself. I was like, dude, that's me. I've done that on hockey rinks before. Have you? Yes, It's just something about it, man. He was just having his peace with like the moment. Speaking of hockey real quick. I know. We gotta go to break Doc Emrick retired today. The greatest voice of play by play and National Hockey League history did all the NBC game there's room for you now, and if I knew anything I know you think about the blue line or whatever I'd get. Mike Emrick was is really one of the best play by play guys and retired today at 8 74 Camera Committee. Rest in peace. Well, he's a slide, but I was not. Oh, retired. He's not dead, too. Ate three of your best. Jason at Beato bag.

"MSG audience back in Good to have you back with us Excited to be back on the TV side of this simulcast. No knock against our radio listeners. They carried us through for the better part of the last five months. So thanks for sticking with us and ah It's a good welcome back for our television viewing audience. Glad to have you with us here on a Monday as we are talking bills football, and we just finished with some comments from Brian Winters, the first time we heard from the bill's newest guard on the roster, who is going to be Right in the middle of that competition for Jon Feliciano spot while he is out one other quick thing that I should mention with respect to Jon Feliciano. For those that may not have seen his instagram posts after he had his surgery for the Tauron pectoral muscle. He said. I'll see in week four. Which is essentially bills at Raiders. And I thought to myself. Man. I thought pectoral muscles were like Full season injury. This guy thinks he's coming back in week four and I'm in pain, and I'm just going to tell you they said 8 to 10 right? Yeah, I said that I've talked to mongo enough to know how that guy's wired like. Who did he play for? There's only came in Buffalo. Oakland would look at that one. What s so there's a significant so he's got that date marked on his calendar. And here's the thing. These guys are so maybe I ever like that, Brownie. Definitely. There was no way Well, I covered the end of your career here. I wasn't here for the start of it. I was too young. I was Which I can't say as much about many things anymore, but Ah, yeah, yeah, you were I was you were a little squirrely isn't never liked after games because you were still coming down from Game day. I'm Dave drives. Adrenaline will call it that. But in any event, what made it doubly interesting was we're talking to Mitch Morris on the zoom call on Sunday. And when we're talking to him about Brian Winters He mentions Jon Feliciano and how it's you know, a tough loss. Gritty, nasty, feisty player that gets everybody else juiced up on the line. That's nothing new. But then he said, You know, we'll get him back in due course here. So It's great that John thinks he's going to get back in that amount of time. That's fantastic, and the bills will be better for it if he does. But the but his teammates believe he's going to be back to like nobody is doubting. Jon Feliciano right now, I'll tell you this so because the pectoral that's against serious injury for alignment guys are out. I mean, J. J. What was that? What was in week? 12 week last year, so Here. Let me Not for nothing, but we had guy like Darryl Talley. Gets both elbows and both knees done. In an off season and like bounces back like he's a Super Bowl. You know, I mean that the guys were some guy's threshold of pain is a is a rumor? Yeah, you know, I mean, they just don't have one and he played last year. With a bad shoulder that required surgery at the end of the year. He played 12 games like that, so it's not like he can't. I think the biggest question is Can he still be the effective player that he is in that kind of condition Because you know, a Zhar DH as he's going to go in his rehab. He's still not gonna have the same level of strength that he would have not obviously tourney in the first place. So it's an interesting thing to keep an eye on. I will be keeping my ear to the ground here. On John Feliciano's rehabilitation from pectoral muscle surgery. And let me be the first to say I am not doubting. The guy they call Mongo in the locker room by any means so good luck to him in him, bouncing back and getting on the field again sooner rather than later. But in the interim, it's probably gonna be Brian Winters or Darryl Williams. Or somebody else who knows a TTE that right guard position for the starting lineup, and that person will be lining up to next to one. Mitch Morse, who, as I said, spoke on Sunday with the media and just a real articulate guy. Gives thoughtful answers. You know, as a reporter or somebody who covers his team or someone who interviews Mitch and wants answers. He really kind of goes the extra mile with some of what he will give you. To paint the picture. So he's always ah, pleasure to interview because you feel like he's giving you his best effort to give you the answers you're looking for, so we'll start with where we finished in the last segment with Brian Winters. So here's Mitch, Addressing the addition of the veteran guard With a guy like John getting her. It's never a good time, right? We all knew that veterans being able to get a veteran and throughout the season or before season, even a free agency was gonna be a premium this year, Just because of Covered situation, meeting times and not really getting into the building with guys until you know a few weeks ago, so Um, yeah, Brian's his bodywork is very impressive. He's put a lot of good games together. You started a lot of games and Um, I think he's hungry to be the best he made. It could be a big football player, and I think that's a parent even just one day and he's a good dude. Excited. You know, we're excited. Be with him. That's unfortunate about John will get him back. And because John such a tremendous presence and often of line room and he still is, but, um, you know, Yes, it's not the most ideal, but Having a guy like Brian Command. It's fantastic. Fantastic, and he astutely mentions the value of a veteran coming in this late juncture. Perhaps carries even more value amidst Cove. It Then it normally you talked about it, too. You got guys that, you know. What? We're just We're talking about what This roster is made up of, and Not for nothing but You always look for silver linings. So you've got these guys they're coming in. Think about how good it is for a guy like a Brandon Walton from Florida Atlantic Rookie from Florida Atlantic. Guys like this. Ah, that the young offensive tackle Victor Salak. Oh, Trae Adams. Victor Slackers got one year in but he was on the practice squad last year, but to come into this to this, you know Ryan Bates is still a rookie, but to come into this Environment with all these guys and learn and watch how they do it, Um It could train and if they're smart enough, which they probably are, if they're smart enough to internalize what they're what they're looking at, and the environment there in it.

"Guys, and they just here here here. They are. This is all everything we thought was happening is happening aid counting. Kevin Johnson was balanced by the bills yesterday because he was already a free agent. Right. These are the UFA's that are on expiring contracts in our free. Now they've been under contract until six minutes ago to their former teams. Whereas Kevin Johnson was actually released by his former team last week. Just because I saw a tweet from you a moment ago about it. I was thinking about this. I was at I was down in Philadelphia the Philadelphia area for the weekend for a couple of baseball dress. And I ended up it's a complicated league. Don't ought to go into all of it. But I ended up with Manny Machado and one Soto on my team unexpectedly because of the format get both at one point during the day. I just said thought like if this were real would I have separate press conferences? Or would these guys be in the same press conference? They might be good enough to deserve separate press conferences. So Sal tweeted, they'll be Prescott maybe one maybe a few. How do you? How do you break it down here? Sal the bills. How do you break down? What will happen is what traditionally happens is. They do them. All they roll them out one at a time at this one after another. So they're not up in the day us at the same time. But each guy will kind of go separately. The the only question is sometimes there's travel issues. Right. The guy can't get there for some reason at a certain time. So that's why I phrased it the way I did. Which is we're going to hear from several if not all of them if they can all get here. They can do it. I would expect that you never know what can happen. But usually, you're you hear from one, you know, maybe Mitch Moore. So go up there first, and then Tyler Kroft, and then John Brown, and that's how it works. Do they each deserve their own though, not necessarily I would say not necessarily reserve. I think is an interesting question. I mean for all of us who do my job for a living. We wanna get sound. We do radio. Right. I wanna hear I wanna give you guys back there at the station and ability to play John Brown's sound on the radio. Or whoever sound they signed the guy and you want to ask him questions. Yeah. No. I just don't know that they deserve their own right? You could do that. If like three of them were up do the linemen together, right? Receivers. Just makes it a little too complicated. Give the guy give the guy his own. You know, five ten minutes, whatever. So we don't know that they're all coming at the same time is basically the point here. Although the bills I would think would want to get the everything's signed physicals the medical all that stuff out of the way if there's anything lurking there that could alter their plans moving moving forward here through because free agency officially actually just began eight minutes ago, even though all these signings were reported starting at noon on Monday. Yeah. What's funny to me? Is someone asks me a question. I said, you know, I don't know the answer to this. That's a good question. And the question was do the free agents have to wait to four o'clock to get on a plane to come to buffalo. Do they have to wait till four o'clock to land. Could they be in buffalo today and just hanging out in a hotel until four o'clock, and then go to the facility and say Hello because only their wraps can visit can do any sort of talking to the teams you can't even call the guy on the phone, really? But can he come to buffalo on Wednesday can the Repco? Hey, man. I got she you're up at a hotel downtown. All right. So just hang out. And then went four o'clock comes they're gonna they're gonna call you over to the facility. I have no idea actually what how that works. I don't either. I know if it were me if I were lucky enough to be like recruited in that way. I would want to get to the place as soon as I can start looking for a place to live. Yeah, I'm Colby's got a four year contract. He's he's enough of a pro to know, he probably won't see all four years. But still he's a veteran guy. That's not a guy is going to be living at the Hampton sweets. Right. I mean, that's a guy that's made some coin in his career, and he's going to find a house to live in. Yeah. He's already he's already setting up his buffalo life. He actually tweeted earlier he's looking for a tap dance instructor. And I actually I tweeted at them you got to contact her. I can see you getting involved in something like that. So which is your favorite of these moves or which is the best move. They made fast move. I think it's Mitch Morris the center, and the reason is because I think of the domino effect of what it does on the offense of line because provided this guy stays healthy. Look, he's missed sixteen games. He's played half. The game's over the last two years. He played seven in one year and eleven another due to a foot injury and a concussion. I believe it was. But you know, if let's say he's going to be on the field. He stays healthy. You're giving them you gave him the largest center contract ever as the largest high-speed center in the league. Now, I think that would be maybe the most ever I would assume that is. But here's what happens you now. Suddenly can don't have to rely on Spencer long. You're starting center who was signed last month. You can move him to guard. You have white tellers still who's going to be pushing for a position. And I think it really just kinda let's everything else kinda breathe a little bit on the offensive line where you have some some competition and not necessarily forcing guys into roles were. Maybe you're not super comfortable with them and gives an ability to do some other things. Yeah. And you have long. Long who can play centre if you need to if something happens short that up. I mean, I don't imagine will will know right away here. But like Ryan grow hasn't signed anywhere. But maybe he's just done here now with this because Bodine is still under contract. Right. And I would think he might even be a someone who's roster spot would be in peril. They would save about two and a half million dollars. If they were to cut Russell Bodine. So you might have a competition can't between Bodine and long, but they're paying long pretty pretty good salary. And I think that would cost them a little bit more. So yeah, I haven't Russell Bodine doesn't really he doesn't. He's not interior swing man. So he's probably just a backup center. So he's probably the guy that you're gonna look at here and say, yeah, you know, probably going to be spelling not good news for him. But you go to camp you take ninety guys if you can't maybe they make a move before that and you see where it goes guys get injured, and you might need a guy at the time to to be there. I like the answer of Morse. I probably would lean the same way. I mean, it's it's intriguing to have. The new receivers. But I think they're only a certain level of good like Morse, right? Have been the best guy at his position available, and they they paid for that. And I think it's it's an indication that they really felt like last year. I mean, they had to scramble that's all there is to it. I mean, would they weren't counting on Eric would to have to retire? And then he did like holy cow. What happened to us? Yeah. Top of that. I think that you know, it's good news for a lot of us. And especially people like you, Mike, which are you on a team? It's going to throw the ball and shift away from a run first attack. I think these signings on the offensive line kind of indicate they wanna do that. Which is they signed a center Mitch Morris who's known as a pass protector much more than he is a run blocker. And they signed a tackle in Seki who is a pass protector. He can be a run blocker. But he's a guy that does very well in pass protection. I think that to me and then on top of that and Frank gore who's a very good blitz. Pick up guy. You know, he he has a running back. He can help out the quarterback in that regard. So. I think we're seeing a little bit of a change in philosophy. Maybe that's an indication to me that maybe this team is going to go more to a pass first type of oriented attack. Well, I hope so. And we'll see if you're right and whether the quarterback can pull that off sell Capriccio with us on the west or hotline how about the offense since you brought that up. I was thinking about a question like that. Can can you meet are you thinking that the offense will change like? So you sort of already spoke to that just now, but do any of these moves beyond what you're saying or apart from what you're saying suggest that they will try to be different, you know, on the level that you that you see the game. And you know, schemes, and you talk to coaches, can you see them changing beyond what you have settled ready. Yeah. I think going back to a little bit of what we talked about yesterday. I think I think changing from what we saw early in the year, but more resembling what we saw later in the year, which is spreading out the field and using smaller shiftier, your guys to create space instead of you know, having bigger guys who Josh Allen can throw fades to and he'll back shoulders and jump balls. And maybe they can go up and get I think you're looking more now at we're going to create space around the field, and we're going to let Josh Allen and try and pick out, you know, who he can throat you who can beat a guy one on one. And I think in that regard to as much as you know, I'm not saying there, Josh Allens gonna become Mr. check down all of a sudden. But. I don't think we're just gonna see him drop back and throw eighty our bombs all the time. You know what? I mean. I think that they wanna make a conscious effort to know you have outlet passes. You have guys underneath you have call Beasley here. You know? You have la- Shawn McCoy you have a tight end who can catch a pass. I think they want to be an attack where he can use all of the field not just the twenty plus yards downfield. But also the ten yards inside. "Else do you get CJ Moseley if you're the bills how else do you get Mitch Morris? You could draft a guy you don't know if he's going to be good enough. You have to wait for them to be a veteran. Instead, you pay eleven million dollars more than you just kind of said, you speed up the clock and say, you know, what forget it. We're not going to spend a second round pick on a center, we're gonna pay eleven million dollars to have one and he's going to be good enough. And we hope he stays healthy bouncing around here thing about who. The ravens have lost now. Eric Weddell gone CJ Moseley, gone, solid, Terrell. Suggs gone is Daria Smith. Probably gone. Maybe not. But very good linebacker John Brown. Chom Brown probably gone and that defense alone. It's not like they have Aaron Rodgers on offense. Jeremy, right? I mean, they have they they're like the bills. Are you have to have a good defense to help out your young quarterback in? I mean, I don't know where they're gonna wind up on defense. But if I'm the ravens I just said a little while ago, if I'm a jets fan if I'm doing radio in New York, I'm like, this is amazing. If I'm a ravens fan or I'm doing Baltimore radio. I'm a little upset and scared right now about what's happening in my defense because I have this young quarterback who I got to protect, and, you know, not wanna get in outs with on if we're in New York. My my feeling is. All right. I hope all this. I hope it all works. I hope it works paying that much for linebackers. The thing about that thing about the positional spending. Now that the jets will have at their linebacker core with Anthony Barr CJ Moseley. Yeah. And the bills think of the value they have right now in Tremaine Edmunds, and Matt Milano, especially and Lorenzo Alexander would agree as well. And on that note. Did you see Landon Collins contract with the Redskins? I did he's making what eighteen mill something. Like that. Right. Was that what it is sixteen either way the bills have Jordan poor poor mica hide combined for eleven. The Redskins just spent way over that for one safety. So we can they're they're not spending. Sometimes you find guys that are great values. Mike hide enjoyed employer. Are great value. Probably are the best value safety tandem in the league. They're very good as it is without the money being counted when you count the money, maybe the only team that could even challenge that would be ironically, the jets because they've to save these rookie deals and Jamal Adams and Marcus may quick tax comes in. Jeremy your comment on Mitch Morris is exactly why you do spend a second round pick on Robbie Anderson. If they do it, I won't be upset. It's a it's a receiver that starts if you're going to go in the first round and take maybe they take their tackle there. I need receivers on this team. I still need a badly. I'm trying to figure out how to not have one of the worst. And I know they're young and they've got stuff to prove. So worst is not the right word here. But like McKenzie and foster of shown a little bit of promise, I'm trying to go into the new season without the perception of having one..

"I don't think Washington is that place they need safety, and they love their very happy to sign players within their division. I not throw by that idea. But I just think I don't understand the danger doing this. But if they're going to do it, I think Washington makes sense sure again could see like the raiders breach and just giving him some megadeal they're card and all of this. Yes. The raiders if they decide they wanna give someone a record contract. They can do it. Let's finish with injury and Amos bears. I think he stays you think he stays guess. Now. Here's the question that bears sign anybody to an extension. Who breeds if they think he's a good player. Why they sign names or anything? That's a good question. I mean, they prioritize a lot of other guys. And they've signed a lot of extensions recently. I think that again, they he probably wants to see how the market's gonna unfold to and I just think that they will pay for him to stay. I is how I see this going. I think they should at least would you they transitioned tagged pal last year. Would you transition tag Adrian, and I don't think he's worth. But then I mean, like, I what is the range between what you think he would get in the market, and what the transition tag would be. What's the transition? Check for safety's. I was hoping you weren't going to say that. Because I don't know what the that's why it's hard for me to answer this question. I transitioned tag numbers are locked into my brain you. I thought you as if they ever are. I'm not going to be able to find it quickly enough to finish the show. But it's like, it's it's I would guess somewhere in the ten million range. Would you would you want him back at that? Number. If it's possible. Yes. I think they usually would follow last year. And I was not a fan of it. Obviously had an awesome year. No issues there. But in terms of if you use it to keep far last year and half some semblance of control refunder. I think you would do it with safety. Let's see the franchise tag. According to Joel Corey is projected to be somewhere around eleven point three million start figuring the nine and a half ten million ranch where transition. If you could get him for four years and thirty two million. Do you do it? Yes. So do you not want a franchise from our tradition for one year like nine and a half or ten and then see what the market does from there? That's not a bad idea. I opened to that. I do catalogs number is going to go down. He restructured his contract. They're going to have a little bit more than like fifteen million. They're slated have right now. So they have a lot of draft picks. So they're well positioned to add towns roster. It's not a lot not a lot of work to be done. If he's going to leave where I do guess you think? it depends on where those other guys go. I think I think that that's. that that's always the dominos fall is depending on where the big one starts. It's hard to say. Is there any player who he did not get to who you have a strong opinion on about him going to a certain place? Someone like a Cameron wake. No, no, you've just wanna finish up. No. I think you've got all the guys I feel strongly about you don't feel strongly about Buchanan, for example. I do not. I have no strong feelings about the Buchanan Thomas Davis. Nope. Again, no, strong feelings just naming people at this point come across the list, you know, their offensive line thoughts. You don't care about where Mitch Morris is going to go. I think I think the offense of wine list is very interesting. You guys like Mitch Morris? I think the Donovan Smith is going to get paid somewhere. Even though he's not very good. If you can walk and chew gum at the same time. You could probably be an offensive lineman. Okay. Question for you to tackles. 'cause I'm gonna ask you a question. They could because I don't know if they could Donovan Smith Donald Smith is not good. But he's there. So how much do you think he's going to get at least like eight million dollars a year? "And I could certainly be wrong. If anyone's gonna creek. On this. It's gonna be you. I feel like when the patriots have a number of a really scary tight end on the other side of the field for them and their defense. I think Bill Belichick strategies basically, we want to take that tight end out of the game. Because you know, if someone like is accurate to Debbie pretty giving the patriots in the Super Bowl. But if it's accurate he can contribute so much in the run game as a blocker so much as a passer that we want to not worry about that tight end taking advantage of our players. And in these two games that we're talking about. He's been not quiet, but by Kelsey sandwich. He has not really changed. Those games had five catches for forty yards in the first one. And then most recently a little more. He was five of nine for sixty one yards. So hundred one yards over two games less than he would normally do. But tyreek hill had monster games. Three touchdowns hundred forty two yards and we in week six this year and then ninety eight sorry one thirty three and a touchdown in week one twenty seven. Nineteen so from the patriots respective do. You think it is more? Like, do you think tyreek hill should be the first person? They're thinking about on every single player. Should it be Kelsey and thinking, well, we're gonna worry about tyreek hill, and he might only make an impact for player to hear their hopefully, I think it should be tyreek hill on every single play. And here's the reason why is that from a square footage standpoint. Tyreek, still real Taibbi hills real estate is one hundred yards of the field vertically and fifty third Yarze horizontally, which is with of the NFL field. Well, Travis Kelsey is amazing Bill, and I would argue that he was the best in football. And that's not like that's upper nearly bold of claim. No. But still in a year when we had three awesome tight ends that Gertz obviously George kill as well. Like Travis Kelsey was the best in the field almost every single week that he played for the chiefs this season. And he he can do about as much as any tight end can do. But still the the area that you are likely counting. For with Travis Kelsey is somewhere basically inside of the numbers on one side of the inside of the numbers on the other side. So you know, that's about two thirds of the horizontal space on the field. Whereas tyrod kill Bill first of all he can lineup anywhere. Second of all before the snap. He's going to be something you're gonna have to account for the chiefs have all this window-dressing pre snap which makes a defense have to react in a lot of different ways. And sometimes defenses lose the play before the balls even snap because they can't keep up with what Kansas City is doing prior to the snap. That's going to impact the result of that play. Tyrod kill your team in motion. You're gonna see him in the backfield. You're going to see them squatting in the back. They were almost like, hey, maybe linebackers. Don't see these hiding behind Mitch Morris, or or you know, Mitchell Schwartz Eric Fisher or L D DT the chiefs gar, Laura Lawrence Newburn party whose back off of I are this week. So like, there are a lot of different ways. Atari kill can hurt you. And I'm not saying that you ever. Ever want to relinquish points Bill, but there is something just entirely demoralizing about a long run after catch a play where the wide receiver just gets behind you. I don't mean this assay early blown coverage. Like we saw from the patriots in that Keenan Allen touchdown at the beginning of last week that looked like a mental error to me. That was just like, hey, I didn't fluff in cover three when I had to keep dropping. I keep saying vertical. Like that's on me. I think my guess was to give more mental air. But when you just can't keep up with the guy Bill or when a guy catches, the football and dashes, and you can't keep up with him. Which was the example that seventy five yard play you come to the sideline. And you're just like listen coach, whoever whether it's still Malchow Brian Florez, whoever it is that your addressing. And that's an that circumstance. It's like, I'm not sure tell you like we're the right place right coverage like he's just faster than us. Right..

"To the guys. Hey, get away. But make sure you come back Monday morning. How these guys react coming back? Yeah. They did good. They good week of practice. They look like they had done a little running on the biweekly. And so we're able to jump right back into things you get prepared for this. Good raider football team. Yeah. With with a chance to look back and kind of retool what these guys it's been a rough eleven weeks rough but a challenging schedule just the effect of trend now to get throttled up again for the next five starting today. Yeah. Well, it's important that they came back with the with the right attitude. I felt like they did and they worked hard. And so now you gotta go play. So that's that's what we're doing today. And we'll see how see how things work out. You're right, though, on this whole rivalry thing image real the both teams. I think get into this. I've got him at Thomas on my on my staff, and and he's into it nieces his old buddies there that he played against that show up for the game and are on the sideline, and you could tell that there's a love there. But there was competition. So it's a this has been going on for a couple of years, the cheap shot a Davidson on Dawson still hangs in there, and everybody's memory. Yeah. That's right. Yeah. I wanna ask you though, defensively they've struggled. I've been trying to figure it out attack in these guys. And what you see from Oakland defensively, you know, what they do is they play fast, and they're they're aggressive. They've made they've installed that are instilled that into their guys. And and and I know that's the way they install it too. So it's a it's an aggressive approach and we've got to make sure we're real accurate. He's going to give you a bunch of different looks. And we've got we've got to be on top of our game. There were great communication. You've trained us all to be next man up. You don't just say got everybody believe in it. But you get a Mitch Morris back. What does that do for you? Yeah. Well, Austin did a nice job for us. We're fortunate to have them and and now Mitch has an opportunity to step back and he had a good week of practice. And we'll see how he does. And if he, you know, something happens there, then within also comes back in and we we've got confidence in him. So it's it's a win win for that position. There. New steps Patrick all the time. But now, it's December football what about him in approaching December. And how you train him for this month. December is different. It's everything picks up a little bit in speed and intensity says I'm it's an intense game anyway, but it's intensity levels are up, and you guys are fighting like crazy. So if you if you don't have a shot. You're still coming at it. And you got nothing to lose. And that if you're you're in it you got win every game. Right. That's how you that's your mentality. So. You know, it's a great football. It's great for the National Football League. And then it's great for our players now that opportunity to play good football team and still be in the hunt here. "I mean, this is a hard one. I don't I hard. I know what I think this comes down to. And this is where I'm optimistic for both of these defenses the Rams and chiefs someone's going to make a big explosive play on defense. Just like last week with Dante Fowler on that strip strip foaming got by. Duane Brown has been a very good left tackle for Seattle this year, by the way that kind of play I was a huge play in that game it swung the score in the field position. When those two teams have been going back and forth, you have potential for that here. Kansases a little weak along the interior offense of line, especially with Mitch Morris. He's been out at center the last few weeks those guys have played well, Cam Irving and Blyth in there. They've played life is the Rams guard. Excuse me writer the center for the Chiesa played well enough, but but Donald and sue you like that matchup and then chiefs deformed injust in Houston. That's the x factor there who can get the sack fumble who can force the air ball that. Can maybe get intercepted and. Obviously game flow plays into all of this as well. If someone gets a sort of splash play early well let let's talk about the chiefs offense real quick. They had I don't wanna say they had protection issues last weekend's the cardinals. But relative to what they've done so far this year. There was a little more pressure on on patron homes in there has been the early part of the season. I mean is there anything that? You can look at it and say, well, maybe the Rams those two interior guys. Plus Dante Fowler plays a up to his potential in this game. Can can they give the chief some problems? I wouldn't. I mean Donald's going to give everybody problems every week. Yes. Best defensive player in football. And you just live with that. I've had coaches tell me just you understand going, and you're going to have about three or four really bad plays against you by Aaron donnas going to get you three or four times, and you have to survive those and play the other sixty five snaps. So that's what that will be. I what Patrick Mahomes, Gary. Is. So I trust him so much in the pocket. I think if you would've asked me even the front of the year we were seeing. Still young, but it even younger Mahomes of totally inexperienced Mahomes. And he was lighting it up. You say, well, let's see how he does. Will you continue to trust designs and stay within the pocket because that's how you stabilize an offense. Even if your protection is not holding up, particularly well, you're not you don't stabilize by running around in hoping something happens which Mahomes more than capable of making something happen when he does that. But and yet he still has the discipline the play on schedule. So I that really encourages me. I think the chiefs have the ability to whether a lot of storms because of that. And they also can have a controlled passing game because Kareem hunt and Travis Kelsey give him that dimension on screens. All right. And it's going to be a good one Monday night. We have some Sunday games as well, though. And Andy, this is this is going to be one of my favorite games of the week. Although I just don't know what angle we wanted to attack this as this is Washington and Houston Houston going to DC in this one. Both these teams you can look at them and say boy, they're sure winning by the skin of their teeth here. I mean, these are teams that. You know, they've had a couple of games. I could swing one way or another on fumbles and things like that. They're both kind of doing it in different ways, though, as as we talked about last week Washington still has not or excuse me on the money. She'll wash into still has not had a lead change in a game this year Houston is Houston is more explosive than this Redskins team offensively, certainly, but I was just crunching the numbers..

"Now, it's time to hear from the head coach live from the stadium. It's Andy Reed's post game press conference. Okay. Really just a one injury. Mitch Morris had has a concussion and we'll be in the protocol. We'll find out more later. So listen, it was a heck of a football game. I was probably the way the guy's battled. We learn a lot from this game. And. We we kinda shot ourselves in the foot a little bit early. And you can't do that against good football team. So we learn from it, and we move on and get ourselves better for the following week a young guys playing tonight. So again, they'll good learning experience for them and. And. Tough place to play. Those got a good football team. And. So good teams playing each other. We came up short. But again, we'll learn from this that time here. Your defense. Take away you stopped him on downs early in the game. Which really could get them off the field. What was missing some key pieces tonight or or those guys? Yeah. So we expect the next man up to. To do their job. And I was proud of those guys that stepped in. I mean, that's not an easy thing to do. They did it, and we can learn from a lot of cases young guys in there. And so we learn for our quarterback owes a great experience. You get battling another tests for them. So the defensive side again, we have some new guys in there. But they thought the bow their hearts. Patrick was able to settle down. After that first half may not jittery was overthrown and stuff something he got him better group in a second job. He pushed through the second half. He did settle down. He was you know. And did a nice job. So. But again, the objective Jackson won the game. And we didn't do that at the same time when you have one like this you go back to learn from it. And you're honest with yourself on the mistakes that you make whatever position it is coaches included. We we all have our things that we can do better. And so we go back and you do that. And the. Long season. They objective is to get better for that next week. And and so that's that's what we've gotta do. What what did real inside? But the second look like he almost had Tom Brady down there right at the end. And then. Got got out of it. Braille is gonna miss many of those but Tom's big strong guy. Got himself out of it. Yeah. "The founder of jetblue airways david shaw a niche in the marketplace that the others ignored or they didn't see but david even before we get into the jet era let's talk about with you met with june morris who was she at what happened but june great lady and and actually left a southwest airlines board after serving there for a long time to june had a corporate travel agency primarily she did a lot of bookings for big corporations and successful businesswoman but she was really wanted to try to take advantage of deregulation and and was trying to figure out how to make her place and i have my own business going i that i started in college and that it failed because the airline went out of business and took mile company with me and so she called me up and wanted me to come talk to earn his luck would have it might my uncle happen to be her attorney so he persuaded me go talk to her and and she said hey let's let's go do some things differently and so together kept them with my ideas and with the her backing and she had a husband mitch morris who was a who was a great man who was helping backer and we started running charters and then we've all of that into an airline and uh started the company with maybe a uh two hundred thousand dollars charter bonded in in one hundred thousand dollars and ended up selling the company to southwest one hundred thirty million dollars so it was quite a right for both of us that is quite a ride now we got to ask the senate was public anyway you'd probably made a couple of dollars coming out of out of my correct i did secondlargest shareholder we you know we had some investors are we gave no money that can you know i was so it was 33 and i had about twenty five million dollars a southwest stocks it wasn't too bad you sold the southwest but we work for them for a while.

"The injury was was effective in a couple of those but alex smith is playing the best football of his career right now and it is just make in great place the other thing i would tell you to score in the tournament at offense the chiefs have never been this good at a to an offense that i can recall negative touchdown again at the end of the first half to go with the touchdown the headache at new england the end of the first half and of course late in the game to do the same thing against the eagles are against i'm sorry last week against the redskins on monday night football s anywhere that'll adds up to a fibonacci start in twenty nine first downs for the second straight week that's a lot of first downs of possession time thirty eight minutes to twenty two show of pretty dominating perform for the offense in it's noteworthy that you bring that up because the texans came in second in the league in time of possession that had been their modus operandi and they'd been getting teams off the field they were top foreign thirddown defense and the chiefs did it with two nonstarters on the offensive line i told you this week about cameron irving i'm anxious to watched the game tape because i think he flat got aphrodite right guard tonight filling in for laredo rene tardif and zach fulton has been brilliant out of the bullpen to fill in for the injured mitch morris because now that's what three games basically the better part of three games that he's been able to do that and don't overlook the fact that this offensive line tonight with really really good good and appear to kind of where down the texan defensive line when the game was on the line once again and it happens that way seems like we have this conversation every week boy the other team really shutdown karim hot in the first half but you look at the final stats and he's got a hundred and seven yards such a good sign for the offensive line and for corinne twenty nine carries one over seven but in the first half it was very neil and uh but he just keeps right on churn of the.

"How did sheets have been winning so far and to be the last undefeated team if that they've heard forty four points in the fourth quarter games this year obvious obviously that includes the six point zero thai earlier seconds remaining on the clock with a crazy justin houston return touchdown the most ridiculous way to cover a football game that i've ever seen live um it got include that but they've been really good in the fourth quarter cream hunters been really good to close out games then that's so valuable right now that if they are going to be in close games or if they're going to be leading games to have a running back who is going to only get better as the game goes on they're going to be able to extend leaves or close out games in ways that most teams around the league cannot do so let me let me make this point now that we suspend five mood slowing about how good alex method clemencies offense have been this could be a bad match up for them i really believe this could give them a lot of trouble and the reason why is i i'm concerned about the offense of like which when healthy one of the best minds in football at the can any really the heck to a great job of coaching up that line but a lot of injury concerns they could be out all three of the guys they would have expected to start on the interior of their offense it live uh against the texans on some of its parker anger uh mitch morris and lord you wanna try these are earned has earned isn't pearl year morris has been out since we too can s the eagle's doing us would if the heard it against washington or fisher they're starting left tackle has a back injury and it was honestly kind of a surprise he was able to see what against washington so.
