"One day after calling the big express golden had arrived back at the sidings very tired. He was just going to sleep when I came up in his cheeky way. Wake up, lazy bones. Do some hard work for a change. You call them. Catch me. offi ran laughing. Sometimes hard on different. I don't want to say targets victims, but are we on this? On these recordings, I mean. We're hard on each other. We're on the Italians. Unlike each other, they had it coming. Never a people deserved it more. I don't know who else we're hard on. Were hard on indie rockers were. Very hard on your peers. I don't spend big checks podcast yelling at other jeopardy champions when I could start you WANNA. You haven't ever done that. What's up with this team week winner? What a what a Yoyo James Hall Towers Gotten a little bit. We've given it to him a little bit. Haven't we can't really? Nice to Brad even though he's actually the one that you hate even buys the most cost me millions of dollars over the course of my life with his amazing blender, jeopardy, skill and luck, but for the most part we're gentle with we're gentle with history and gentle with the things that we put into the I would think somebody online was giving us a hard time for roasting my son Dylan. Dylan Oh and I'm not even aware all the villains of History Dylan deserves it. The all the people have coming because when I tried to get him out of bed this morning to clean his room something he'd known about days he was, he was just lying in bed at nine thirty drinking. A Soda and saying Oh I can't do that today. I have a zoom meeting at a eleven. What a bunch of Arche! Malarkey AH. Seventeen. How do you have more zoom meetings than I do? we. Remember you do rose to Dylan a bit in the interest of. CAITLIN giving equal time to my daughter. Dylan. Dylan. Takes a lot of the oxygen out of the room whereas Caitlin is, he's already got fans, yeah! He can lose a little bit of listener goodwill kaitlan is a fascinating jennings of all the Jennings I know she really is the best. But I don't WanNa. Give the impression that you are I dislike my awful year old son. Dylan focus you know he's not. He's actually delightful kid. He's a strapping and impressive, young man, handsome, very very confident and capable around adult. He started going for walks this week. which is really impress the heck out of me because in lockdown, he is really indulged all his worst tendencies, which is just to rediscover fortnight and play fortnight fourteen hours a day, but it should be noted that over the last couple years. Dylan has undergone that teen transformation where. He was a boy. He was a little boy, and then he was a medium sized boy. Children are accessories, but now when I walk into the House. He greets me. Not as a peer, but he he does like he has social grace. He says Oh hello, he doesn't quite call me mister. Roderick which I would prefer. I didn't see you. Thanks for stopping welcome, take your hat and coat. Does he offer you a cool refreshing drink not quite, but he's on his way, yeah he. He's definitely taller than me and knows better than me about everything. There is really nothing even if I say hey, Dylan. I asked you to wrap up the video games at eleven. It's eleven thirty and you were just screaming. at your so called friends right. Does, he say it's not eleven thirty in Alaska. He he just rolls his eyes. He knows better than us. The thing is his father is A. Nationally renowned. Experts how do how did you know who is real father's? Nobody's supposed to know this. Yes, his DAD's Nobel Prize. Winning chemist in yes almost ended our marriage. His father. Join me doing. No, but it must be. It must be hard for you not to pull rank sometimes and say you know that I'm gonNA accredited. Experts brings credited by by the ABC television network accredited advice the beginning television. I never actually. Luckily he'd ever did debate or anything, so he doesn't really try to argue. He just rolls his eyes and steams inwardly at our unfair, because really his only argument ever is, but my friends don't have to. As if this would have any bearing on whether. Scream at his at his animal crossing characters at eleven thirty. But. But we are crazy about dylan he's. He's a delight. And when he was. Younger. He doesn't do this anymore, but one of my favorite things about him was that he would put on a new outfit for every single activity he did. Like if we were. If, he was if he was watching cartoons in the morning on, TV. If. He's watching Bob the builder he would have a hard hat and overalls on Oh. Wow, and if it's switched to Batman, he would have to run upstairs during the commercial break and put on a full. caped crusader outfit and come back downstairs and then and so we would just come downstairs every morning. He would be staring at the TV in the outfit of whatever was on TV A. You have never roasted him so hard as you're doing right now. Because I know that some of his friends listen to the show, and they might not know this. They probably don't and they're gonNA. Give it to him with both barrel. He was A. he's like three years old it. Doesn't matter. When you're owning your friend. If there's no statute of limitations on wearing a Bob. The builder outfit I used to fall asleep in the Bath Tub, and at one point my mom took a picture of me fast asleep in the bathtub and I had put it on instagram this year. It was just last year. And it was in a picture album. At our house and my friends at one point. Were directed to it, maybe my sister. And boy I sure. About that for for. We thought it was adorable. It was our favorite thing. But his biggest obsession the cost he probably wore the most was a little. Engineers Yet. Engineers how to train engineers hat. And he would actually have a train kind of foam train that would strap around his shoulders, so he was as if he were a big. Big Train engineers sticking out the top of this little tiny locomotive I'm going to have to roast him. Now I mean the Batman. Thing was fine, but he's a little train. He was obsessed with trains going to roast this mineral. This child when I see him except you think you think the railroad is a good hobby. I love the biggest train spotter of all you got. You. Jump them you like it. One little old men make miniature ones. You're train guy across the board. Does your daughter ever go through a train phase? Not Trains she does changed her outfit fourteen times a day, because every every new chapter of her life deserves an entire new costume head to toe by the way my daughter does that, too, but with her. It's because of a spill. My daughter has a mind to spill. She'll cover herself interiors and. Betty sauce, but she'll need a new new princess outfit every minute, not just princess every kind, but no I tried to get her interested in trains. and. She was remarkably resilient in terms of resisting all my attempts to get her to. Adopt gender neutral toys. Even let alone boy toys. Cars trucks planes just didn't Didn't embrace them. Except as conveyances for dolls who were on their way to a party. The dolls were not going to work or some kind of suffrage jet convention, no and then. When she was very young, I would give her a car and she would turn it upside down and. An cradle, cradling in her on talk. Okay, so we had the opposite experience with a little boy. Who No matter what kinds of. Wholesome feminist empowering genitals returns you tried to get them would find the one most shaped like a gun. And hold it and make Bang Bang voices and it didn't matter what it was..

"Original. WWE podcast coming up. I chat with North American champion Roderick. Strong among the big red machine. Kane is here and get ready. You nasties the Sassy. Southern Bell Lacey Evans is here all that and and much much more. ATB starts now Kirk. Welcome welcome welcome to after the bell. I am still corey graves. Still the Internet's favorite it. Currently as far as the w landscape is concerned. I am re-matched to death. I'm GonNa tell you what I mean. It seems like week after after week after week on raw on smackdown we see rematches Ad Nauseam. Now don't get me wrong. I'm not tired of seeing any of these. He's superstars but I am tired of seeing the same matches over and over and over again just top of my head. We've seen the Viking Raiders Who I'm a huge fan of the? Oc who also a huge fan of how many times in the past few months have we seen that match we saw it again at TLC. I went on twitter. Two weeks ago to praise Umberto Correo versus Andrade because it was awesome. I am all for seeing more of it. But that doesn't mean in successive weeks. We saw it again on the TLC kickoff show yes it was awesome again. It appears after what went down on Monday night raw this week. We're you're going to see it again. GimMe little space. I mean why do we need rematches all the time what happens. Why can't somebody just win? Somebody just lose and move on on. We have got a glut of talent on all of our rosters. We have so many superstars waiting to break out waiting to shine in. Sometimes that can happen happened with different opponents. We got rid of the automatic title. Rematch is last year sometime. I get that you don't necessarily need the headline to pay per views with the same matchup. But why doesn't that apply to the rest of the roster and again. This isn't just on Monday night. Raw On smackdown. I am a huge fan of new day of Revival Revival. They put on awesome matches all the time. Luckily at the TLC pay per view. They added a new wrinkle in that the tag title match was a ladder match which gave it a different element and a different look. But I don't want to see it again next week. I WanNa see the revival. I WANNA see the new day I wanNA see. I WanNa see the Viking raiders. I don't I don't WanNa see them against the same opponents that they had last week or the week before that or the month before that it's gotten to the point where a lot of these matches. Even these pay purview start to feel like place holders. There's nothing must see. I mean granted. Maybe I'm old school. Maybe I've got that mentality. Because when I grew up there was an issue at least from pay per view you to pay per view and then generally the pay per view would mark a pivot point. It would move onto something different different opponents different stories different matchups and it felt fresh. I understand there is a ton of time to fill. We turn out so much content every single week. You're going to have inevitable rematch as you can't have have fresh matchups every single week but give me a week inbetween. I feel like I'm trapped in this weird bubble where whoever your opponent is for that period of time is the only person that exists on the WW roster to you and it just feels weird. It's not boring because the matches are good. They just don't feel as important for God's sakes it's gotten to the point where. Aj Styles and Randy Orton who are arguably. The two best superstars from bell to bell that we have ran. He's one of the all time greats. Dare I say. Aj's in that conversation too. We saw their match at Wrestlemania. Yes it was awesome. We've seen them interacting six six eight man's whatever it is they're constantly on the opposing side of one another so when they actually have another awesome match like they did on Monday night raw. Nothing thing against them I. It just doesn't feel important when two stars of that caliber do battle feel like it should mean something not just. Hey We know it's going to be a good match. I don't know I'm just complaining. That's what I do. That's why have this podcast because I need to vent or else I might literally explode which I'm sure would make AAC plenty of you happy. He is the current annex. T North American can champion and a member of the undisputed era Mister Roderick strong. Roddy what's up dude. What's happening corey time absolutely flies? It's unbelievable it seems. Seems like I was just excited to see my old friend. When you first got signed in here it's been three years which is absolutely insane to think about actually take a little bit of a trip down memory lane before for you got to Annex T? I know that when I was still bouncing around the independence You were also there. We always seem to miss each other but we all ran kind of in similar circles. Knew a lot of the same guys. You came up in an era. Where basically a WHO's who of WWe nowadays we're Kinda getting started? Aj styles and Siham Pong. Sammy Zane Kevin Owens. I mean you've really crossed paths with basically everybody and it felt like man is roderick strong. Ever GonNa get here. Hear what was going through your mind as you're watching all of your kind of contemporaries make at the wwe or wherever they were having their success and you were still kind of. I don't WANNA say left left behind but left behind. No it's true I kind of feel like I'm the last guy of that. Era on the indies. And it's it's been interesting for me because when I started around wrestling was like ninety five so I got to see all the different waves in different eras and the things that were becoming popular dealer and then when I got kinda grouped in with. Aj styles impact. Joe The dan Daniel Bryan and stuff to you know. Even though I was a young young kid at the time I felt like. Oh Wow this to me has potential to be the greatest era of wrestling ever and then as guys started to uh to make it you know. Even though I was doing a lot of great stuff in ring of honor I was going to Japan. I was doing a lot of fun stuff. You just start thinking like what do I just is not have what it takes. Am I not Good enough and you know there was a stage where I started getting into my own head and I think it was about two thousand eight into two thousand nine a little bit. I kinda contemplated like I don't know if I necessarily really we WANNA do this anymore. Not Like I was jealous of all the other guys success. I just felt personally that I'm in the same league as them and I wanted the opportunity to show the world and you know it was a a small stretch of time just a few months but after that I kind of had a come to Jesus meeting with myself and like looked in the mirror under said you you know your path is always been different and it's GonNa continue to be different and eventually when you do you know get the opportunity to make the most of it and then here I am. Today was at one of those. When you least expect it catch you off guard at all because I I can totally relate to what you're feeling because it's crazy especially in that air on independence? It was so all consuming that you're worried about chasing this wrestling dream and real life starts happening thing around you and it's a lot of times like oh wow I can't focus on real normal human things because I'm busy trying to make towns and get paid and try to get my name out out there. I remember I. I think I was about twenty seven years old which nowadays I'm like. Wow I was still just a baby but I hit that same point and then I started questioning myself when and I got a good real job so to speak and you know my son was born and I was kind of like you know what. Maybe it's just not going to happen. Just you know wrestle and enjoy what I can do and accomplish at that time and I know what it's like Kinda doubt yourself but then seemingly out of nowhere. WW calling me. Did you have anything like that happen. I was actually talking. Look into my my weightlifting coach at the time coach West and this was Earlier in two thousand sixteen I had spoke with ring of honor and I told him I wanted to just go international. I I just didn't want to be with the company anymore for a little bit. I had almost been there thirteen years and I just needed a break. You know too much of something is just you know just overexposed with the company. They didn't really know to necessarily do with me. BUBBA got to the point where me and him were having a conversation. One day and I was like you know I've finally come to terms with the fact that if I never go there I'll be okay but but I'm GonNA continue to approve all over the world that I'm as good as I feel. I am and Legit when I left the gym that day. I got a call. What the Freak House like? This is unbelievable but you know it was necessary for me to have all that time because I was you you know like you said wrestling. Just become such a focus. I didn't really focus on becoming like the person I wanted to be outside of the ring and then the more time I put into that just to better my life got the better I got this job eventually ended up meeting my my wife and a type of person you know that I wanted to be when I met her. That was my goal because I didn't want to be in a situation where I wasn't prepared to handle relationship that you know they take effort. I wasn't willing to give any of my time to anybody really and then pro throw it failing at those. Yeah you know I had a and it was just. The timing. Couldn't have been better and it would just really really wild that after all of that happened and then I signed and you know soon after I signed you know we found out she was pregnant. Rag Nat Interest Blah Blah. And just everything kind of just fell into place especially coming in T- like having an opportunity to be home and the last two and a half years as my I son spent on this planet. It's been the most amazing time my life. Don't let me ask you this working alongside your wife. Maria fear for those who don't know a member of the anime a four horse women and now down in Annex T. Do you spend a lot of time talking business with her trying to help her learn or is this kind of one of those things where you guys try to keep things separate now. We're better when when it originally the opportunity came about. It was something that I really truly wanted to ever avoid void. Just I know how critical I am myself and how hard I am myself and I never wanted to to put that on her because she's just as equally hard on herself when it comes instead fight career in her training and I. It was very very rough because I was trying too hard to be helpful..

Maybe i mean you remember the the period when there was a a lot of cultural resistance to share like just like anything else it becomes it'd be like look at what these weirdoes are doing culture yeah for a long time in the seventies. I think my dad said had it with quotation marks around it ms so and so but it felt it always felt like natural to me. Although i think it's probably going out because uncommon describing addressing a woman based on her marital status his probably in archaic thing 'cause nobody's getting married well because 'cause we don't talk about men i mean men don't have a we don't address them differently whether they're married or not but then you have to choose is for a woman like they still have to between i think ms was the maybe because we use first names more now.
