"Grilling JR with the voice of wrestling, mister Jim Ross, Jim, how are you, man? Good calling. You look like a college professor this morning. It was glasses. Man, I laid it all of a sudden my eyes needed a rest from the contacts. So today's my last day in glasses, I'll go back to contact. So I won't be four eyes next week. I look pretty again for Eugene. Oh yeah. You're pretty boy. But these cheeks. Oh God, these chunks. Exactly. You can't change the cheeks, brother. You got double digits. So what do I mean? What the hell? But good. I'm glad you're having your legs are good. I know ad free networks busy. I see all the projects. My God. It's amazing. The work you guys put out. I'm really proud to be affiliated with. We've had a lot of fun, man, and not only did you get all of our shows here early in ad free, but the bonus content would come up with like we recently just had FTR come on and break down their one on one match from dynamite a few weeks ago and do a little Q&A with fans and it's the ultimate experience if you're a wrestling fan and you want to have interaction with some of your favorite Hall of Famers or stars from the day and we got your old radio shows and some old hot lines and just a lot of fun stuff and it's a portable. It is, man. And it's a month. Yeah, and it's not available 9 bucks. 9 bucks a month is what gets you in, come on. Yeah, that's done in two Starbucks. Yeah. Well, all I know is is that you're out on point about if you're a fan, you're going to love it. That's not hyperbole. I believe that to be very true. And but the other thing is, is that you can kind of create your own menu. Yes. And shop, you might be more interested in. Eric Bischoff's podcast than ours. Or another. So what? That's the beauty of this thing. So I believe it's here a fan. You got to do it, man. You just got to just, it's just too handy. And my God, it travels with you. There's all kinds of positives to this thing. So I hardly, is that a word? Yeah. Hardly. I thought I just made another one though. That showed my ignorance even more profound. But yeah, I just think it's a way to go. 9 bucks a month. You gotta be kidding me. That shouldn't be part of the decision. Check it out. If you Conrad, you can't afford $9. We need to talk about other issues in your life. You know what I'm saying? I know what you're saying. And you're saying ad free shows dot com is a great value and you should check it out and we're glad that you're checking out our podcast today because Jim I teased this last week, but we're talking about a show I actually attended in 20 years ago this week was Judgment Day O two and this is the first official world wrestling entertainment pay per view after the name change. There's just so much to unpack here. Unpack. I love the idea that we're getting the moment to talk about the name change. Bruce and I talked about it a little bit in years past, but man, the WWF was so branded. You know, these days, if you and I were to go to lunch, somebody might say around us. I mean, I think we'd probably both order water, but somebody might say, hey, I'll have a Coke, please. And the server might say, we serve Pepsi. And the guy who placed the order might say, oh, that's even better. And it's almost like, well, if you wanted Pepsi, why did you say Coke? Because Coke is the brand. If you and I were to get a Nick or cut today, we might say, oh man, I need to get a band aid. Well, that's a brand. It's a bandage that we really need, but a brand is band aid. And a Kleenex is a brand. The WWF, if you were to tell somebody, oh yeah, my son's training for wrestling. You mean that WWF stuff? That's what they would say. And now all of a sudden, we got to get the F out. And I can't believe after all of the incredible legal battles that mister mcdivitt has won over the years, he takes an L to the panda, I didn't see this coming. I don't know why that happened. If you want to know. Let's do. The court was an England. Magnificent had the magnificent stroke in England that he would have in Pittsburgh and New York City like he has had a great success that you mentioned. I think it's the best lawyer I've ever even met. Yeah. He's amazing. But because all the hearings were England based, you know, the panda was ten to dudes or there were an English company. And people stood up for the taking care of the animals. And in their own country, so these powerful foreigners coming over to disrupting things. So I think that was the deal. The home field advantage had a distinctive advantage in that particular case. And I'm not just defending Jerry, but I know how good Jerry is. But he never got a foothold in that thing because of, you know, it's hard to sway at a very, you know, an audience that's very prejudice. Sure. So it's gonna ironic. The court system, he got bit in the ass there by the prejudice. So anyway, yeah, it was an interesting time. I remember, I think it was the first time we had a producer. She's great to Jennifer goode. One of my favorite people to ever work with and she's really smart and got a little family growing right out there. I think she lives in Vermont or somewhere in that neighborhood. But she's no longer a WWE, but she was a player. And the respect of getting things done, so she says, we're coming to our first one camera. And guess what I'm.

"Nick grilling, JR, with the voice of wrestling, mister Jim Ross, Jim, how are you, man? I'm good Conrad. You sound like you're full of P and V this morning. Man, I am. And I'm hoping for a little P and V, let's move on. Hey, we're excited to be back here. And when I say back here, I mean, you just returned from across the pond, baby. A little trip to Liverpool. How was it? I'm a little jet lagged. It was great. It's great. I saw so many people that hadn't seen in a long time, and you know, with all these in our business, it's crazy as it is, you know, you don't know when you're going to see somebody again and especially at my stage of the game. I had a great time. It was really nice to catch up with people and how they're families doing their kids are doing and all those things. And it was just amazing. How many people were there that I hired back in the day, it was really cool. So it was good. Good experience. I really glad that I did it. They treated me good. I think it's free to everybody. So I'll say this, those guys are big thinkers. And their entrepreneurs kind of like you and me, they got that they got they had a plan and I just hope they did well on it. It looked like they did. So in any event, it was a fun trip. Well, I'm glad you had fun and I know we're going to have fun today. We're going to be doing a raw watch along and man, anytime we get to watch old Monday Night Raw with you, it's going to be a good day. We're going way back to April 28th, 1997, which is kind of fun when you think about it because as we're watching this today or as folks are listening to this today, it's the 25th anniversary of this. 1997, man, really important critical year for the company and wrestling as a whole, is it not? Yeah, yeah, it was big. Crucial time. But we had we're just reloading our shells to get younger, get more athletic JR, we got to get some new faces up and running and so we did that, especially could, with that roster, just I'm always going to go back and look at it just astonished it. Who we were able to sign and put it on the team. So it was a really unique time for us. It was crucial for WWE. All that 97 stuff really led to that march to going public. And so it was a money wise that this period of time we're going to talk about today and this will take a raw was right in the heart of all that stuff. So it should be fun to talk about. Well, I'll tell you what else is fun to talk about feeling better and before you and I went ahead and clicked record today. We talked about fields. Now maybe you're not familiar with fields. We're going to catch you up, but let me tell you this. CBD isn't about what you feel. It's about what you don't feel like stress, anxiety, or pain..

"For the gift packs, the gift boxes, nothing else, just a bottle of sauce. I got I've been getting a lot of great positive feedback on our seasoning, which makes anything better. We got a large size now in the traditional size. But it's all good stuff. And they make great gifts. You know, we talked about this at the holidays, stocking stuffers. What they're good for Father's Day, they're good for birthdays, thank yous. Thanks to that nature. So check it out and take a look at it. And again, it costs nada to look. Absolutely, check it out. He said it the multi purpose seasoning goes good on anything. There's nothing I haven't tried yet, JR, that I haven't said, my gosh, it just enhances it. It's an enhancer. And it just makes it so much better and burgers, dogs. It doesn't matter. Throw it on there. Steak. You know, whatever you're gonna throw on. Seafood. Yes. Your grilled fish and you want something to add a little personality to it. That's the way to do it. And it's healthy, it's got, I think it's got, well, it's like the mustard. I use our seasoning like salmon. And sometimes if I have the chance, I will season it and let it sit overnight in a refrigerator. And then when I grill it, I will grill it and that the end when I turned it and it's already almost ready to come off the grill. I'll drizzle that's a big time chef cooking term. I'll drizzle our main event mustard on it. It is, it is phenomenal. Wow. You gotta cover, you gotta drown it, but drizzle it on there, it's a taste. You may want some more when you taste it. But boy, it's really, really good. So, but we appreciate everybody's business. We really do. It's just wonderful to be appreciated in that regard. And I know a lot of people buy our products, because they're good. They taste good. And they're also supportive of my family's efforts. And that's what I really grateful for. That's awesome. JR's BBQ dot com. Check it out. Find those gifts, send it. If you're a man less than Senate to your significant other, say, hey, this would be a great gift. He said it Father's Day's coming up. It doesn't even have to be. It could be a thank you. It could be anything. Yes. You know, so there you go. Listen, JR, it's been my privilege to be with you here again today. We appreciate all your support on grilling JR on behalf of the voice of wrestling, mister Jim Ross, I'm Paul bramwell, and we'll see it right here again next time here on grilling JR. "To get Conrad. I like to think that I have that attitude, but I know that you horseman have it. I know that you haven't only. Let me ask you a question. You want to just do something and hang on that microphone or you want me to hang on to it. Let me just say one thing, Terry. When we have an opportunity to get the other on national television, we are running along. A statement and tonight. Once again, the horsemen are going to make a statement and a behalf of the horsemen, the spokesman Ole Anderson has a few words. We want to make sure that everybody all around the country has an opportunity to hear what I'm about to say. And I want you in particular to pay attention to its sting because you're the reason we're here tonight. I want you to know you're not going to be a horseman anymore. It's over. No more horsemen for this thing. Yeah, don't close your mouth a second. I'm going to explain something to you. I want everybody to listen real close and you listen real close. When Rick called me and called on to come in here, it was for one reason. And the reason he called us in here was to get rid of you. When I tell you, just be quiet, there's three of us standing here and there's one of you. Just wait a second. One thing that nobody looked for and nobody could figure was when you jumped in and helped Rick against this guy. We held off. A little later in the Iron Man contest, we came in at ring and we were ready to stick your head in the sand again. And as we came through the ring, Rick gave us a pay attention. Rick gave us that sign and waved us off. You were spared for the second time. And then something that nobody would have ever dreamed could happen happen. When you became one of us, a horseman. And you were a good horseman. No argument about it. You're a great wrestler. You're tough, strong kid. But you did the one on forgivable thing. That we can never forget. You know what that was? When you signed that match to meet Ric Flair for the world title on February 25th, you signed your death warrant. Are you listening now? I'm gonna tell you what I said to Rick. We all agreed we should just stop you right now, but Rick says no no. No. He's helped me one time. We let him live one time. But on one condition, and the condition is this. You go to the promoter, you go to mister Jim Ross or whoever you got to talk to. And you tell him that you're gonna cancel that contract with this man wait a minute get over here. You just listen. You listen to me and you listen real good. Anybody even a blind man could see there's three of us and there's only one of you. We're going to spare your life. You got about two hours to make up your mind. What you're going to do. And I'm telling you right now, it's only because of his nice kindness that we're going to let you live right here. Two hours, you make up your mind, you go tell Ross, you tell everybody in the world on this national TV that you're going to give up that chance at the world title. You understand? Sting. I bought you a little time because what you got. The whole deal is this, you got two hours to make up your mind and you're no longer a harsh man, and if we ever see you again, you're not going to be quite so lucky as you are tonight. Come on. Look at this. I'm trying to tell you. I want you to die. Get out of here. I can not believe this but this is the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life. This is pathetic. Rick flair absolutely pathetic. He gave the guy chance. Well, gave the guy change. Yeah, you're a big chance. We're gonna be right back. Let's continues live. Don't go away. We'll be right. So there you go. What a masterful angle, it's great. Now we know sting is no longer a horseman. He's got two hours to decide, but it feels like the decision was made for him. Great angle man Terry funk and all the Anderson and Ric Flair and staying just good stuff. And I got shout out from Ole. How about that? No, it's well done. And I would say all those guys had a hand in only may have been the leader and the creative one of the guys that had great influence. But the all those guys were able to contribute. And look what you got there. Yeah, Ole. You got R? Aren't any bad talker? Somebody's noticed. You know, Terry funk took promos in the level of anybody. So and always has been that's one of his great skills. So I wasn't surprised it was good, but what I found funny in the after fact is how many times wholly tried to get everybody back on track and stay within the time that they had allotted for it. Did you notice that? Yeah. So he was directing traffic in only Anderson way. He would if he was the real guy. So it was a good piece of business. And literally one hour later, it all went to shit. Ole Anderson is going to replace thing in the cage match and sting is going to run out to confront flair, but as he's climbing the cage and gets pulled down, he blows out his knee. And this is going to be a major blow to the point where you guys all come back and mate in Atlanta, just figure out what the hell do we do now? On Tuesday, he's going to have surgery with doctor Jim Andrews. They're saying he's going to be out to August sting, is hoping to beat that and come back in July. But we got a pay per view later this month and we're scrambling to figure.

"Same team when it comes to COVID-19. Buy and tech and Pfizer remind you, please consider getting vaccinated. JR how are you man? Man, they kissed me off in purring. I have no passion, phoning it in. Are you going to the nearest thing? With the voice of wrestling. Hall of Famer, mister Jim Ross, goddamn. It's play Friday come on. Hey, hey, it's Conrad Thompson and you're listening to grilling JR with the voice of wrestling, mister Jim Ross, Jim, how are you, man? I'm good, Connie. I'm good. I had a little issue with my foot this week. Healing, but it's one of the old skin scabs away, sorry to be so blunt. And the new skin appears. It's really sensitive, so sincere to cold, it sensitive to heat. Touch. It's just I am the one legged man in an ass kicking contest. Hey, you got a chance. So anyway, the doctor said it was doing as well as they ever wanted. So I'm healing on the right track. She said, it's just not going to be the pain's not over yet. So I have medication for that if I need it. Take good care of me there to management. It's a whole different deal than what used to be. You know, we went through this period of time where you get paid minister from your doctor, you were frowned upon, and I said, hey, what's going on here? Did you try buffering? So anyway, now it's a different ball game. And held at 70 years old, I don't plan on developing any drug habits that don't already have. Hey, time, sir. So anyway, it's all really good. I want to work. I have missed any work, and I take pride in that statement. So anyway, all good, man. I'm still calling wrestling on Wednesday nights on TBS. Loving everyday minute of it. Well, we are so excited to be talking about our topic today. It's the man called sting and golly, man. What's new is old again or what's old is new again? You know how it goes. They're just as staying as still in ring and you're still working with him. All these years later, we're going to talk about maybe the most important year of his career, 1990 today, can you believe that it's been 32 years since sting when the world title? It feels like, I don't know, 15 years ago, not 32, goodness. The typical pro wrestler answer are former pro restaurants. Oh yeah, yeah, I remember. It's where the plaid shirt and Nikes. No, I don't remember shit. I remember it happening. I think I call that match. I think. Yeah, you did. And when I see where we say that, I don't anybody to miss understand I do care. It's just I've called so many epic matches. Thanks to the talent now, not me. Thanks to the talent. That men they cluttered up, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember that. But I do remember the date. I thought it might be passed. I thought it was probably overdue. Should have happened earlier. You got to have instincts to tap tag in, somebody that's hot. And he was obviously hot. But we were obviously so unorganized. Nobody was paying enough attention, past the politics of booking. So anyway, that's how I looked at that situation. But he was Steve Borden was just a can't miss guy. And now he's back more focused. And I say that government laugh at me. He's older. He's a Christian. He has a different lifestyle. He has a different point of view and outlook. He has a new marriage. So he's got reason to have a major changes. And he seems motivated to want to pass it back on red and the Darby Allen. He's taken Darby under his wing. If nothing else on traveling and planning a match or it may be. So Steve is a he's done a lot of and he doesn't do a lot of ballet hood, but he's really a good mentor to the entire roster. There's not one person at roster. A wrestler. They wouldn't tell you they're a little stinger to some degree at some point in their wrestling fandom. Everybody covers every base. So anyway, that's what I'm thinking on that. We're really. Blessed to have it. He said, important to us. So I don't even think about his age. Tony Cox is not going to overbook him. Steve board is not going to let himself get over booked. He said, he thinks he can handle to maintain some level of sanity. So we're lucky right now a and to have him. Just like the folks in WCW, we're lucky to have him back 30 years ago. You remember those old dusty roads, a campaigns for the headache medicine that said something like, I know a thing or two about pain, something like that. Well, here's the deal. CBD isn't about what you feel. It's.

Just trying to figure out this new system, you've always thought and they tell me that our crack stats and we're ready to roll. So, buddy, we've been clueless. This has been comedy gold. This is from 25 years ago. We're going back to the first ever two hour Monday Night Raw. It's from February 3rd, 1997. It was in the Toronto sky dome. It was actually recorded on January 31st with an attendance of 25,268, so what I'd like you guys to do if you're gonna watch along with us, this is the part where you want to fire up that peacock machine. So launch the launch the cock as Connie sometimes says. Go to Monday night he is something. And we're going to go to season 5 of Monday Night Raw, episode 5, and we're going to count it down, jam. I'm ready to roll. All right, let's do it. What did you have better things to do tonight? Hey, yes, sir. Here we go. As we record this, I'm leaving town tomorrow morning for lovely Chicago. Very nice. Yes, sir. All right, well, let's talk about that as soon as we launched this. So let's do it in three, two, one and play. The revolutionary force in sports entertainment. Welcome everyone to the sky dog runner Ontario Canada. Tonight it's Royal Rumble raw world 25,000 fans are here plus Shawn Michaels psychosis and two championships on the line. The man they call Vader making his way to the ring here in the sky down to play smash mouthless stone cold, but right now let's take you back to the Royal Rumble. Yes, it was the Alabama where over 60,000 fans were on hand to witness the most controversial conclusion and Royal Rumble Match history. Austin Oliver diesel. And Falk and Vancouver. He knows what they've got to kind of know about. That's right. Nobody saw it happen. No evidence. No evidence just us. In the 25 or 30,000 people over there. Just the millions watching at home. And now they're also going to go in my next Brett. In Toronto, a lot of the fans will like it. It's a lot of the past did not. "You're listening to grilling JR. What the voice of wrestling, mister Jim Ross, Jim, how are you, man? I'm pretty good Conrad and getting better every day. She'll Healy. My skin cancer on my ankle was getting better. It's bright red, and it hurts. But it's improving. That's all that matters. Just give me some improvement every day. And it's still early looking, but I don't know if I only think I'm screwing around me some hot woman has an ankle fetish. And they can tolerate my ugliness of my burn, burnt foot, ankle. The funny thing about that, I didn't even think about this Conrad. Here's the energy part for me to try to heal. This just doesn't feel quickly. Right. It's in a part of your body that has no fat. So in your ankle, this line is that way. And it's just got to take some time. Yeah. And it's like, you know, I say it's felt like a bad sunburn. It's really another level, but it's the best way to explain this radiation burns. That's what it is. Because all the skins gone now. So I saw new skin that means it's more exposed to the nurse or more exposed. So it's a bitch in that respect. But it is getting better. And while that Oscar is gone, and the new scan is starting to mature. So that's just what it is. You know, and I kind of get used to it. Thank God for these creams that they gave me at the cancer office. Cancer clinic. So I use that three or four times a day. And to help heal a damn thing. But I'm going to make it fine. It's just yet. I've had to write a lot of paint. Right. And flying is the shits. Yes, this. So, you know, we all got to be careful. When I get on the plane, I'll make sure I got plenty of Sam on my burn, and I have it wrapped. And protected. I've always fly I'll tell you. You know what I've been doing Conrad? What's that? People gonna probably laugh at me. And some of you go through the airports. I've been ordering a wheelchair. Oh. Oh, walking is a killer. Yeah. Just kill it kills it. So I'm going to get in the wheelchair at the airport on both ends. So they picked me up. I got my driver picks me up here at home. Takes it to the airport where I meet the wheelchair guy. Who now come buddy with, and they're all fans. They all like my ten, $20 tips. So I'm very popular they seem to come in because I think most of the people that have wheelchairs are tipping them like in ones. Yeah. Or something into that denomination. So let's take it a load off of me. So when I get off the plane and we're going this week, as we take this, it'll be Washington D.C., which has very, very strict COVID rules, regulations. So that's helped me a lot. I feel when I first did it, I felt kind of oh, I guess my ego was getting involved. I just didn't feel like I don't want people staring at me because I'm serious. I sailed through the airport. In the wheelchair, that fucking black hat. AJR. How are you feeling? Great, man. Great. So it's nice and fewer pay attention. They know I'm not a cycle injury, this ankle thing is not a work. I'm really this bad way, but I'm on my way to work. At 8 o'clock tonight, as we were speaking, Wednesday. I'm ready to kick ass. That's a great medicine for me, quite frankly. They sound corny, but it's a great medicine for me to as long as I get there. And we start going over the show and getting ready for going the air, I'm it takes my mind off how much I'm hurting. And then I have medication. Sometimes I get a shot. So, you know, I just, I got to do what it takes me to get on the air. Yeah. I feel small obligation. It's like they folks who watch the show. They don't want me to half ass it. Bring in something. I'm not ready to do, or I don't care about distracted. So it's fair to the consumer. And you know, we both have the same philosophy of customer service. We're not going to short change anybody. No. So that's kind of where we are. It's been an interesting end of the year and then moving into the new year. It's just a little daunting to be honest with you. But if I got 30 days to suffer, so to speak and heal, okay, I'll do that. So we'll do this. I told you earlier, I looked like that little dog on the rest. That is black eye. So that's been on top of a conversation because you can't hide from it. No. I said, you are just for sunglasses on your show. I said, why? We don't have any on cameras. Right. Does it matter? It doesn't to me. You know, now if Lawler was sitting on that chair, it'd be for something to be looking for in the format on cameras. Yeah. And we just don't already have any on cameras. So anyway, that's where we are, buddy. It's just a little Val, get a lot of support. I know a lot of folks that watch this show text me on a text because tweet all that stuff, Facebook, tweet. Instagram. I get all these. And it's good, though. They're taking time out of their day Conrad to reach out to me when they have probably had better things to do. And for all those extra pieces of effort, I'm very thankful. And by the way, you noticed, I got a new lightbulb. Okay, I got it looks. Well, I still get carried away and how good it looks. I do have a noodle LED light that goes in my lamp. I got two lamps. And there they are. So better than veterans man. So but everything else is good, man. I'm just doing well. I really have been good. That's why everybody lives and dies on anymore. 18 to 49 ratings. Yeah? A lot of people don't understand why that number is so important to cultivate and to monitor, but that's what the network sale. Their ad sales target 18 to 49 year old people. So that's why the 18 to 49 number. So important. For all advertisers. And the better we do ratings wise, you know, you hope at some point. That Tony can recoup and move forward. And let's say, yeah, that works out. So it's all good, buddy. It's all good. It's just a hurdle. And, you know, you're not both of them. A lot of hurdles. Oh, yeah. So that's what we do. But I do really appreciate it by support. That's a very appreciative. Well, we're glad you're doing well and back where you belong back on TV back Colin wrestling and we're back today talking about one of the most important royal rumbles of all time. One of my favorites, Royal Rumble 2002, we recently talked about this with British preacher too, and normally I don't do that in the same week or month or what have you, but this is one of those special exceptions because there's so much going on here in the WWF in 2002. So Jim and I are going to talk about some news and notes and then we're going to do the actual watch along for the rumble match itself. So if you haven't already get your peacock fired up, season 15 episode one Royal Rumble of two, we're at one 24 26. That's Royal Rumble O2 on peacock and our timecode is one 24 26. Before we get into watching the show though, I want to just add some context to where we are. We're coming off of vengeance, which we covered last month in the archives, and as we closed 2001, there are some other wrestling companies trying to make a run here. World wrestling all stars, and extreme wrestling federation..

"Grilling JR with the voice of wrestling. Mister Jim Ross, Jim, how are you, man? I'll get Conrad. I'm doing fine. It's a good week. It's a good week to be above ground as they say. So everything's good, man. AEW business seems to be doing well and that's a really nice shows, I think. Outstanding wrestling. You know, with that roster, we're by the most many of their strengths are simply, and I don't mean simply like, okay, here we go. Build a bell. And there's so many of them. It was seen to me that if we miss a certain week, you didn't have some good matches or matches under delivered, which can happen in a human business. Boy, I think that it's hard to miss. So that's what's fun about going one of the things I spend about going to work is certainly seeing what Tony Kahn's got in his head and who's going to be featured this week and he's on the opportunity to steal show. So things are good, you know? Like I said, are you doing business good? JR's BBQ dot com is hanging right in there. We don't mind. A lot of folks still eat after the holidays, I discovered. That's great. So everything else is pretty good. My wound. Is healing slowly, but it's healing. God damn it, it hurts. I'm telling you. My skin. When I shower a real good and use a loofah gently on this wound, it looks like something from outer space. It's just bright red. Which means it's burned all the hill. So the only thing I can do is aggressive cream I put on it and then we manage it up for TV for sure. But I'd like sitting around my place here at Jacksonville now. I'm fine with, I don't order the bandage. I'll just keep the medicine on it and take the occasional pain pill, which I don't like taking because make sure it's worthless as shit. So anyhow, everything everything's really good. I mean, you know what's healing? I got another 30 days of that. So I got 30 more days of this aggravation. And I go to see the doctor next week just to check on how's healing? So I'll probably take 5 minutes. Hour to drive over him back probably seriously, but ten minutes, let's say. But I'd rather go and know is to set home because I'm too fucking lazy to drive. That's where I am. Hey, how would you do your Halloween party, did you? No, we did a Halloween party. We didn't do a New Year's Eve. Yeah, we have some holiday. It's a little recent. We pumped the brakes on that, thought better of it. You know, with COVID acting up, I thought, you know, I don't want anybody getting sick on our behalf trying to get to our place to have a good time. So we're going to redo it and we'll do it the first weekend to spring. I guess late March, somewhere in there, but yeah, we had to break the news to the guests and unfortunately the caterer and the DJ and all of our folks who were getting paid to be there, but they'll get that payday here in a few months, I guess. Yeah, well, negotiate my wife negotiate. Excited about is that you're back behind the damn microphone on dynamite. I mean, how cool was that? After all the years where we saw where, unfortunately, on the other channel, sometimes people like to have a little fun at your expense. Boy, you got a hero's welcome on TV. Pretty cool to see you get your flowers while you're still able to receive them. So yeah,.

"You chat one on one and ask me anything during our ask JR live events. What do you think of that? And our top guy, got to hang out for a weekend with a king and I at top guy weekend in Chicago. You simply will not find a better value in all of wrestling. You not only get grilling JR as you get all of Conrad. Did you see those teeth? My God they're bigger than you. Look like giant yellow king size bed. Ad free and on video or as low as I can't believe this. You're raising prices. $9 a month? Hey, look, don't make me go red ass because my God, you know I will. Hurry over to shows dot com. Right now. And sign up. Man, they kissed me off in purring. I have no passion, phone and get in. Are you sure? With the voice of wrestling. Hall of Famer, mister Jim Ross, God damn it. It's wonderful. It's play fighting. You need to pull your head out of your ass. Hey, hey, it's Conrad Thompson in your list thing that grilling JR. With the voice of wrestling, mister Jim Ross, Jim, how are you, man? Have you on a mister Conrad? I'm doing pretty good, actually. I have my 17th skin cancer treatment this morning. As we're recording this, and so that means I've got Wednesday Thursday, Friday left this week, then I think two more three more next week than I'm done. And at that time, I hope to hear the news that your cancer free JR. So I'll know that next week. So I got much on my mind. He left in this shit. But I posted a picture the other day that got a little crazy ass play, because my leg looks like fucking beach jerky. That radiation has burnt the hell out of everything at thank God they've improved the processes Conrad to where I have a custom made boot that when I lay flat on the table, my foot business boot so that the radiation only hits the cancer area. You're gonna go everywhere else, but you know, it's not an exact science here. So I got my leg it hurts and it's staying in a throbs. But they told me about all this. It's not like I woke up with I said, oh, this is gonna hurt, huh? They told me what it's going to be. Like, and now it's bubbling up and it's got little blisters. So they all got a pop. So I really got a lot to look forward to this weekend. So it'll be all right. Look, people don't think we're shit to me and, you know, I just got my eye on December 29th and getting back on dynamite. It's my goal. It's always been my goal. I design this plan with the doctor's advice and their counsel. That we could pull this off. So as we had it, the 29th, which is next Wednesday, is that morning's my last treatment. And therefore I have my consultation with the cancer specialist and hopefully send me on my merry way. So in theory, that day they'll declare you cancer free, and that night will hear you on TNT. Oh. Yeah. That's the idea, buddy. I'm going to walk out of here. I'm not a little bit of a limp. But by the time I go on the air, nobody can see that anyway, they're going to see me sitting there talking. And I look forward to that. I really do look forward to it. Just tell the kids. That's how you ask about the lamp as your gangster lane. They'll know what that means. Yeah. Yeah, man. It's my gangster lane. You dig. You did, baby. So I'm just working through it. It's really made me a better man, I think. This is a challenge. This whole thing has really been a challenge, physically. And mentally. And you sit there at night sometimes and wonder, what if on the next Wednesday, I don't get declared cancer free? I still got a battle at the son of a bitch. So what we do there, we battle. Just keep fighting until it's all gone. And that's how I look at it. I don't have any, well, what if you know what else? I'm going to beat it. I have to beat it. And I can tell you this, everybody listens to the show. You don't know how important you are to us, not just from us earning a couple of bucks. But from the standpoint of the support. Yeah. And the good wishes and all those things, just terrific. And I see that a lot of our brethren in the wrestling media enjoy take a clip out of our conversations and stuff and use them for clickbait. If it's getting more people list our show, I'm happy for that. Of course. I don't care. We don't care. So what are you going to be doing in the Alabama game? I'm going to be right here at home, housed in a New Year's Eve party, hopefully celebrating with a cocktail that Alabama has beat Cincinnati, but I want to get our predictions on that next week. Unbelievably, we'll be talking about another kind of bowl. Battle bowl is the 30 year anniversary of starrcade 91, which is a real stinker of a show. So it should be fun to hear. Yeah, it'd be great. Me and Jim, yuck yuck about that one. But today, on Christmas Eve's eve, what a topic we've got Stone Cold Steve Austin who just recently turned 57 as we're recording just a few days ago. And we're going to break down his career from 95 to 96 and he starts 95 in WCW and of course Mike's a handful of appearances, most of the time working with Jim duggan, and in a losing effort, by the way, and then ultimately beats him in the first round of the United States title tournament and then loses to Randy Savage, and that is ultimately Austin's last appearance in WCW. How crazy is it to think that Steve's last TV appearance for WCW was against the macho man? Yeah, it's pretty cool. I didn't realize that. But I wasn't there either. Right. I left WCW at that time..

"Yes, sir. Also, this would be the last question. I don't want to take a few more details. I'm drawing my best save up my money. It's hard. I got a four year old daughter and I got a little girl on the way. Wow. You know? So it's kind of hard. And give us too long to play in for this one. But I've never been on a cruise, and I want to go so bad. And is there any way at all possible? There were any downtime in there in the ring that I can sign on that waiver and say to somebody what I got in the ring. I don't know buddy. I wish I could give you a definitive answer or give you hope. I'm too honest. It's a long shot. But. Nobody seen you. Nobody else is not a good term. I haven't seen you work. I'm sure Chris Jericho probably hasn't seen your work. I might be wrong. I don't recall it. You know, hey, look, what do you live? I live in close to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. You should be able to, you know, maybe when. I wish there was a way you could be on the we have a show in Jacksonville, the last Wednesday in January, come a New Year's Eve kind of thing. And I hope to be back in the saddle for that one. I was just right here. I'm 20 minutes from the arena where I sit. But that would be a good opportunity for you. It's just a drive, the easy to get here. I don't know, buddy. It's a tough, it's tough, navigating those waters you're in right now. And the key thing is, there's nothing more important than you got to do. Ain't that cruise. Take care of those kids. And somewhere along the way, you can play restaurant a weekend and have a job and have benefits and have a steady income. Because how many spot shows or how many shows are on Thursday night type thing? I'm sure there are some. Most of them are on Friday and Saturday. So you get somebody that runs a lot of shows and you prove that you're worth then and if you're good enough on those jobs, I'm not going to notice you. We're just going to get out. I was always going to bring a guy in this allegedly a star. Draw the house. Really good. You're really good. They see you. They're not going to tell somebody. Hey, you got to check out this guy. He's one of the shows I was on. He's pretty good. Absolutely. I'll tell you what, will or man, me and him train together. And whenever we were trying to one time, I was going to try to do a swan time bomb off the top first army drawing, really. And he volunteered to be my son dummy. He's a great man. Ask him about it one day. I landed on him and said, I met the show at the bottom of his beat. Those are tricky moves to practice. You should practice on a dummy. And waiters, waiters not a dummy. Well, one more thing. If you don't mind, man, I believe in God. And I believe God can hear you. And I already said, did you know you gonna get the healing? So I know you agree. You might have possibly a quick, you can't stop me from fraying. The lord, thank you once again for another opportunity coming to prayer to lord. I pray right now and I don't want to pick up too much time, but Deloitte afraid you just touch mister Jim Ross. You know this cancer? And then the name of the lord, I rebuke the lord, a brand that you just feel him. He's in the successful treatments that he needs and just take that cancer and send her out back to hill working from God. Thank you for everything. Amen. Amen, thank you, buddy. Lauren, that's the first. That is a first. I don't know that we've had any live prayer on ad free shows yet. Thank you. Good call, Blake. Thank you for joining us. Good luck on your journey. But remember the priorities. Two kids. They would be here without you. It's your job now to take care of them. You win. I really appreciate that brother. And miss Lauren, I want to for making some all of our dreams come true. We're designing free series deal. I would have never dreamed in a million years. I would have been able to talk to all these people. Listen to me either. I am not the one making these dreams come true. I just get to be here, part of the fun. Glad to have you Blake for following your story. Jim, he's asked similar questions and some of our other zooms. He's getting all kinds of good advice from great minds in the wrestling business. So thank you Blake. Thank you so much. Man, skylight was a home run with my mother in law, and it's gonna be a home run for you..

"With none other than JR, Jim Ross is the voice of wrestling and of course our co host on grilling JR. How are you tonight? Mister Jim Ross. Oh, good. I'm good. I'm having a little beverage in my JR's copper mug. Tell me. Are you a big fan of those copper mugs? Yeah. Everyone else is too, and you can get yours. Are they on box of gimmicks? Is that where we can get those? You can get them at JR's BBQ dot com. There you go. That website. Yeah. That I talk about endlessly and nauseam. I always want to talk about that website. All I want you to do is go over there and look. You guys found a nice stocking stuffer for the rest of yourself. How about that? You actually get a gift of resting or in a gift that you wanted. That is the truth. There you go. Yes, there you go. For my birthday, a couple of months ago, I ordered myself a huge, I'm talking about it had to be a case of the original barbecue sauce. It was on the floor of my pantry because there's not room on the shelves for that many barbecue sauces, but it is so good guys. Try it once, and you'll keep coming back. You'll buy it thinking it's a novelty or a gimmick. It's not it's delicious. You're gonna love it. But this is ad free shows. And here I am just plugging away on this barbecue sauce and those mugs. That's how we do Lopez. What do you have for Jim Ross tonight? Well, Lauren, as always, thank you for hosting, looking fabulous this evening, by the way. Thank you very much, sir. JR is an absolute pleasure to get the chance to visit with you. Had a chance actually my daughter and I we went to full gear this past weekend or dash was a two weekends ago now. Did you wear a coat? I did. It was cold. That snow was a pleasant surprise. I had one nipple fall off. It's somewhere bouncing around and downtown Minneapolis. I haven't. Nobody's turned it in, so I don't know what else happened. Did it get on the blue line or green line transit? I don't know. Check. I don't know. I think it popped off when I was running across the street from the arena to the hotel. All the time, Jim, what are we gonna do? I don't know. I don't use mine. I don't need them. I'm good. I just wanted to cover it here and say that it is an absolute pleasure talking with you because I grew up in as many did in the 90s. I actually pursued a job at career in broadcasting, so you inspired me to pursue that. I was play by play for multiple sports, got to cover the junior college World Series there. Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you. And it's good to know that for as much as you've accomplished for as much as you've done and seen that you still take even mispronunciations to heart that it matters that much to you. Well, I want to be you want to be you want to do your job right. And it's just, I'm sure I've mispronounced words, my entire career. Every broadcaster that you're going to listen to this weekend doing football will mispronounce something. A round down in distance, the wrong tackler, whatever. And it's just shows that we're human and you're not working with a script. So everything's extemporaneous. It's just a big OS ad lib. And then sometimes my mind is rolling faster than I can talk and then Daniel Bryan Danielson as I should call it. You know, I'm calling the other name forever. I was headed to a relationship we signed him. And sent into Shawn Michaels camp. So it's just a hard break. And I'm concentrating. I'm not, but I love the cannon fodder, provides for 7 naysayers, who said, man, he's got to retire. It's just embarrassing. So I was out of embarrass me, I'm Google, and I don't think that that hasn't happened. It's good to see. It matters a lot to you still and, you know, hope to have that same passion many years from now is as I get done hopefully towards the end of my career one day. So thank you so much for being an inspiration and thanks for all you do. You bet, man. Just keep Logan what you do. And that really helps you along the journey. And I'm going to write another book, it looks like an offer deal for publishers about my 50 years in wrestling, which will be I got into 74, so it's 2024, a couple years. And above ground, that's what's going to happen. So I should be fine. But I never stopped loving what I did. Even in the oxen, no money and long car trips, stinky ass rest for smoking in your car, cigars, weed. And I was the driver, so I was off limits to all that shit. But it killed my car. It was the smell of pool hall. And they didn't care. They were begrudgingly pink too mounted right in. And then someone would try to beat you out of that. I'll get you tomorrow to answer. Sure you will. So anyway, but anyway, if you love what you do, seriously. That's how that way across the board and what we do for living..

"Mister Jim Ross, God damn it. It's play fighting. Hello and welcome to grilling JR. This is Paul bromwell and I'm joined by the voice of wrestling. Mister Jim Ross, JR, how are you this week? I'm good. I'm good, Paul. Thanks for sitting in for the big boy. He's taking care of business, you know? He's ubiquitous. He's everywhere, and he's quite the entrepreneur. So Conrad, whatever you're doing, open successful and I'll rejoin each other soon. He's a busy big boy. You can say that again, my friend. Come on. You're busy as well, Jim all over the place between dynamite, full gear, lots going on in the AEW world. Lots going on in wrestling. Yeah, yeah, for good. Good news for some folks and not so good for others. You're referring I give assuming to the WWE layoffs. I am. I have to ask you, I wanted to talk to you about this before we get into this week is Chris Jericho 2001. But I wanted to talk to you specifically about some of this that's been going on, especially the last year. You sat in the chair, talent relations have had lots of difficult decisions over the years, but we have never seen anything like we have in wrestling in terms of releases like we have over the last 12 to 16 months. Well, you know, you've become a public company. It changes the ground rules. Throughout that, that whatever is the said company. And, you know, even though they had a huge profit, which is congratulations to them, but it was bad timing, I thought to come off the heels of a big announcement that announced great profitability in the third quarter, and now on the heels of minutes after you're finding out a lot of Dallas all of them are good soldiers. Their name came up, and you know what the criteria is? Is it creative? Is it issues that we're not aware of? Is it simply budgetary? Some people overstay their welcome. You know, I don't have a clue. I know that for all of them that got let go, they should not perceive this as the end of the world. Because it sure as hell isn't. There's just no way that you could frame that and say, well, you know, that's why we're going to do now honey. Christmas is here. We don't have any if you run your budget that close. Or you've got no, you know, a little stash of cash. Yeah. And after being after working full-time, you're not spending it on a lot of travel and P and a, T and E or TNA. Any other value in there, but you're able to save somebody and you're not working 5 days a week. So you should be able to save some money on your trance that wasn't picked up by the company. And I just don't believe that any of those talents should be thinking that I guess my run in wrestling is over. It's only going to be over if that is your choice. If your choice is that, well, you know, I don't know. Then you maybe you may have your own answers. Maybe it's not that important anymore, and you're willing to go do something else and explore other opportunities. I don't know that. But I know that one of the questions I used to ask tell us all the time is what is your plan B? And if they had no plan B and they gave me the old line about I love wrestling and this is all I've ever wanted to do and I'm living my dream. If I get to get a contract with you JR, blah, blah, blah. I used to question them on that. Because here's what happens. You get it to the process to this person that has one gold, and that is to be on WWE television. And if things don't work out, sometimes people take make stupid mistakes to try to rectify it or they become less of a team player. They're disappointed in the system. They're disappointed in what has happened. So the bottom line is, it's just all those individuals. Some of them could take time to work on their bodies. Some of them could take time to heal. God forbid they may want to spend more time with their family. And there is this little thing called the holidays coming up in December. So I feel badly for them. I sound like I might not, but I've been in this position. And I always never went into the next day saying what are we going to do? I always prepared for those rainy days. I'm a businessman. So and I think that's how they need to for my feedback. That's what I would look at. Take this time to better yourself. You know, get bigger stronger faster, rest, clear your head, be with your family. Common sense things. But I can tell you this, getting cut from the WWE or AEW or any other company, including companies called the National Football League. You get cut doesn't mean it's over. And I hope that they can bottom they listen and they know a lot dude. You know, I feel for you. But don't put yourself in a rabbit hole and say, I just go, I want to just get away from everything. I need time. Okay, if you need to, take time. But don't get up the next morning thinking, I just don't know what I'm going to do. This is horrible. Yes, it's horrible. But get over it. Get over it and move forward and prove yourself and try to regroup because there's a lot of folks doing wrestling right now. And if you're ready and willing and able and you're good, you're good locker room person and all that stuff. You know what the hell? That is shot. Something else is going to come around. So like I said, that's the main message I would give them. I don't know why all those people were cut. I like some better than others, just like anybody.

"This is Paul bromwell. Filling in for Conrad Thompson this week and I'm joined by the voice of wrestling, mister Jim Ross, JR, how are you this week? I'm good, man. I'm having a good week. It's been a good week so far and I did a little travel not bad. Good places. After we do this, I'm on my way to Oklahoma City. To go to the OU, Texas tech game, the Saturday. So kinda excited about that. Seeing my house at, you know, I lived in forever. I went back to office. So, you know, I was in my buddies around at the weather and I still sit outside the back got a patio in the backyard covered kitchen outdoor kitchen, big screen TV, big 50 inch and it's perfect for cigar smoking. I don't smoke cigars with my buddy's dude. And I do drink the beer. I got oh, you Coke machine out there, so I'm set. I'm ready to go. So I'm actually to get home and see everybody including my family and so thanks for giving my youngest daughter and her husband and I are at another guy a lawyer. Especially in the field, getting ready to start a cannabis farm. And we're looking at the working title of black hat farms. I've lost the land in Oklahoma recently and for the grow houses and all the things that are going to be their life. They're going to they're going to it's a big deal. She's got a great job in marketing. She's not going to quit that. I wouldn't even let her consider that. So I'm excited about that for my kids. You know, I figured out it was probably smarter to lead them things when I was alive. Sort through all the heartbreak and the minutia and the legal stuff, the probate courts and all these things, after I was gone, it's going to be hard enough when I'm after I'm gone, simply because I got so much memorabilia I need a clever creative way to have somebody that knows what the hell they're doing. Couldn't my home inventory my memorabilia? And then figure out the best way to pair it down. You know, and so I guess the cool stuff. But it's hard to give a quite frankly. But it's just so much. It's the whole room full of stuff. I always just stacked everywhere. It looks like a hoarder. And my wife kind of was a hoarder. So she collected memorabilia for years. Every year, I get something from my birthday or Christmas or John Wayne Adam or Mickey Mantle item. So I've got John winning stuff, signed, worn, you know, to cigarette lighter. All kinds of cool shit. So I have fun going back out there. There's a lot of good memories. So we'll have fun tonight here on this with this. I like these q-and-as. Got a fun, you know? It doesn't matter what the folks put in their questions. Yeah. You're gonna ask why is ask question? How is there to get them built? I don't know about. What is your extensive booking ackermann say should be? So you're not going to try to if it's just not a soap box deal. Just normal conversation, I love these. But I said, we'll try to make it deny. JR, listen, if you get wise asked questions, we want red ass answers. Can you promise me that? Work on it. Okay, that's what I want. That's what we want. Listen, you said black hat farms. That was the name of it where you serve in chocolate cake. Is that the slogan? Is that what we're going to do? There'll be chocolate cake eventually out of it, but somebody. But I think it's a really grateful and proud of my kids for taking on such a big project. It's awesome. Yeah, it's a big project. It's very cool. It's the most I've ever invested in anything in my life. Homes included. So I just it felt right. I have a circle of friends that are accountants and lawyers and financial planners. Everybody got to see the business plan. So I'll get on it. Real positive feedback. So we're doing the right way, I think. But it's a big, heavy dose of cash to get it started. Well, Jim, you talked about it and having everybody over on the deck there, firing up the girl, the 50 inch TV. That sounds a lot of fun. What's the go to? What are you going to throw on that grill? The meat of choice you think for a party like that. Probably stakes. Okay. Steaks, fillets. Healthier, you know, I like fillets. They're more tender as a rule. I love rib eyes. So they're always in the hunt. A stakes probably the main thing. A little JR seasoning? Yeah, hell yeah. Makes it easy. Like stealing. I mean, you got to be an expert. You can turn your grill on it, but the beat on it at the right time. And all you do is cover it in our seasoning. You're home. You're done. So that's kind of how I look at that whole thing. Guys, like me who are amateur cookers is collected to do it for, I don't know if it's therapeutic or what. I really enjoy grilling and cooking for myself. And guess time of time. I just find it to be a fun thing to do and I want to do it as pain free as I can. I want to I'm not generally well seasoned with RJR seizing on mistakes. If at all possible, let them sit all day or overnight and their infinitely better. That's not a wise Taylor. That's the real stuff. And then anybody can do that. All of a sudden, you get your grill on, your meat has been sitting there overnight. It's been a season. Marinating so to speak, you want to add a little bit of liquid smoke on there, have at it. So it's really easy to keep it easy. My buddies are more interested in drinking. And that Coke machine that owe you Coke machine. Doesn't have any copes in it. It's got a few miles of water and a bunch of beer. Yeah, it's pushing out the good stuff. Yeah. Nick ultra. Right. Well, I'm not saying it's the best beer. I'm just saying, it's what I have my refrigerator thing right now. The best beer is free and cold. There you go. Free, cold and with a steak. There you go. All right, JR, we'll listen. This.

Cooper never even existed, the crew made him up to get cash and then split it between one another, only to learn that cash was traced by the FBI. So they threw the cash away into the river, our oceans, so it couldn't be found. It's just a theory. Theories of the third kind. Listen wherever you get your podcasts..
