"Welcome to Derek talk. So there's a positive update on actor Jamie Foxx. You know, we know that from his daughter Karen, you know, from her mouth. This is what she is saying that he has been out of the hospital for weeks, you know, they were all these speculations and rumors, circulating around the Internet that Jamie Foxx was basically on his deathbed, but she basically killed all those rumors which I think is wonderful. But now there is another update. Now, Jamie Foxx's family was spotted in Chicago visiting the actor as he recovers from a still unknown medical emergency that placed the Oscar winning actor in a Atlanta hospital for almost a month. Jamie is now at a facility touted as the top physical rehabilitation and physical medicine center in the country. Fox's daughters, Korean and annalise, as well as the younger siblings mother Christian granites were all in the windy city over the weekend to spend time with him during his recovery from a health scare that took place in Atlanta last month. It's still unclear exactly what happened to mister Fox. Born Eric Marlon bishop, but according to TMZ, the facility where Fox is receiving treatment specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury, rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation. Boxes 13 year old daughter annalise was seen bringing her guitar to visit her dad. So that was a great gesture. I'm going to play the guitar for my dad. So, you know, so he remains in great spirits. Her mother and Jamie's ex Christian 46 was seen leaving the facility with flowers and a balloon for Mother's Day. So I think it's been confirmed at this point that Jamie Foxx probably suffered, I'm thinking of stroke. Again, I mean, that has not been confirmed, but if you're at a rehabilitation center, that is telling me that this man is probably having to learn to walk again. You know, so, you know, I don't think we knew exactly how severe this medical emergency was. And I think that's why Jamie Foxx and his family are, you know, not really in the public eye. They're just kind of, you know, working on this as a family. They're not being very vocal and I think it's just out of respect for Jamie Foxx because I think whatever it was, whether it was an aneurysm or a stroke, you know, we're not doctors, but it sounds like it was something that was extremely severe. Severe enough where he is having to, you know, go to Chicago and have rehabilitation. So we're praying for Jamie Foxx. I mean, this is a great update because at the end of the day, he's alive. Family members are seen, leaving the facility. And I think that's a great update, you know? But I think at this point we just need to pray that, you know, he gains access to his mobility and that brain damage is not prevalent in this case because I think any time you know that you pass out and you have to be resuscitated, you know. Regardless of your age or your health, brain damage is always, you know, in the back of your mind when someone is unconscious for us significant period of time. And they have to be resuscitated. So I'm hoping that Jamie Foxx makes a full recovery. This is great news again. He has checked into a rehabilitation and sports medicine center there in Chicago. Obviously, the best in the country. You know, only the best for the Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx. You guys are locked in a Derek talk. That is the latest update that we have on Eric Marlon bishop, AKA Jamie Foxx..

I didn't watch any YouTube video shows this week, so that's why I double thumbs up for this week. All right, a couple of things that I saw during the break then. One, I can't believe you haven't seen this, but don't worry. You've got time alone now for two weeks. Murder mystery two. Sam man's got a new movie. Yeah, yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no. Tell me like that with a sandwich. I love classic salmon, you know what? One of the best presents I had at my 50th Easter was Adam Sandler had made a new movie for me. It's like he baked a cake for me. Him and Jennifer Aniston. Now normally I always think in terms of double X, Sam man's always played really well with Drew Barrymore, but these two are show me something new. I love the first murder mystery. Yeah, even at the beginning, they sort of fudged where they were. They were like, oh, they're doing a project. And Adam, what are they doing? And they're going so many edge of like remixed all the songs. So anyway, Letterman goes to Dublin. It's a part sort of travel document with David just wandering around Dublin, which is great. And then him chatting to the bad. It's really, really good. And then the other thing that's very good on Netflix as well, really smart show. You would love it. Cleo. Oh, really? Yes. Very, very good. Set in the 80s in Russia. If you really love, what was the one about the killer in England? Killing Eve. Jack the Ripper? No, Killing Eve. If you love Killing Eve, which I thought was great, your love Cleo. It's very rare. That's my double thumbs up this week. The YouTube documentary don't need to be a big YouTube fan. It's on Disney. ". After my health, a health plan you can count on. Four 38. Traffic and weather on the 8s in winter breaks, the foxes have at this afternoon Joe Fox and the traffic center. Mister Fox, let's get started on the Maryland side now 95 in both directions to try to see some minor volume delays and it is just that volume as you head north and south past route 32, so don't be surprised to see some brake lights. You're going to keep moving though. Albeit a little bit slower than you'd like. It's still a better bet than the Baltimore Washington Parkway, which is slow northbound now from four 50 all the way up towards powder mill road, southbound, you're going to be slow from one 98 to one 97, and then briefly inside the beltway as well. Once you get down into the district in a northeast, D.C. two 95 is slow from burrows avenue towards east capital, but the real delays are northbound AC two 95 as you leave the 11th street bridge up and over the Pennsylvania avenue railroad tracks with the work zone. It's only a single right lane getting you by, you're going to be jammed for that mile or two stretch leaving northeast D.C.. Southeast southwest freeway, you're moving a little bit better, but just still volume delays. Same story on the 14th street bridge, no big issues in the district right now. Bay bridge, you've totally cleared out now you're in great shape two 70 same story. No problems there. Over in Virginia, inner loop of the capitol beltway is going to be slow from route 7 on up to the American legion bridge. And that applies also to the George Washington Parkway. You're going to be slow joining the northbound inner loop. Same story from the eastbound dulles toll road is going to be very slow in that painful ramp to get onto the inner loop. 95 southbound, you'll be slow from let's say newington now across the aqua Quan, those delays are volume the earlier crashes that we had there are long gone. North about 95 slow as it has been for quite a while now from thornburg in separate stretches up to the Stafford airport that's a 9 mile stretch. Go ahead and stick with 95. It's still a better bet than route one. Still working on a crash on eastbound route 7 past one loud and it was the right lane blocked. The delays are easing though. You're going to be in pretty good shape other than that, headed back towards Sterling and tysons. If somebody you know won't wear their seatbelts start going ding, ding, ding like their car would, and don't let up until they buckle up by being annoying, you could save their life. Mister Fox, good afternoon to you, the story of the afternoon appears to be mostly volume delays around the region, precious few accidents, and let's keep it that way. Doing a great job drivers. As we head northbound out of the Virginia side of Tyson's headed towards the American legion bridge, it's volume. As you head north on the beltway, that's going to start around one 23, and the GW Parkway is picking up some volume as well as you head past turkey run. "Only sweeping change and bold action can solve the problems confronting the United States, from government gridlock, to racial injustice, to surging immigration. But the concept of slow change may not sound appealing in the face of such challenges. But two practitioners of gradual reform, Greg Berman, and Aubrey Fox, argue that incrementalism is baked into the American system of government. And even historic events, like the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act that appear as giant shifts, can often be traced back to small, continuous adjustments over time. In their book, gradual, the case for incremental change in a radical age. Mister Berman and mister Fox wanted to counter the argument that bold action is the best way to reform unjust or broken systems. We were seeing a lot of people making big promises, and talking about change in a way that didn't feel tethered to reality, says mister Fox in a video interview. Often, your best strategy for making a big change is to break it down into a lot of small pieces, says mister Berman. There's a wisdom and common sense to that approach. If it's forgotten, people lose the tool they could be using to get the result they want. He adds. Polls show that Americans favor a slower pace of reform. Most people don't like dramatic change. They don't feel comfortable with it, says mister Fox. A go slow or do no harm approach doesn't lend itself to slogans on t-shirts. But it does allow for many other benefits. The authors make a compelling case that incrementalism rooted in honesty, humility, nuance, and respect, can begin to move the needle on even the most intractable problems. Now, today's stories. "Got a question for you. Is it oh, is it ever okay to censor the contents of a storybook? Is there any, is there any reason why it should be okay? And the reason I asked this question, there's a story at national public welfare radio NPR. And there's been some controversy surrounding two books, some beloved books written by Roald Dahl. Who wrote Matilda, James and the giant peach? You might remember Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? And fantastic mister Fox. So the British newspaper newspaper, the telegraph, reports that his books, mister Dahl's books are being edited to remove words that could be deemed offensive to some readers. This is fascinating stuff. It's all woke, by the way. The character Augustus gloop in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Is that the fat kid? Augustus was the fan kit. Okay, good. Oh, well yet he was the fat kid because the character is no longer called fat in the storybook because they say that word calling a character fat is a offensive. Instead, they're calling Augustus gloop enormous. Isn't that worse? Would you rather be called fat or eaten good lord is enormous? By the way, the oompa loompas have also become targets. They're no longer. Oh, they're not midgets. We're not allowed to say midget, by the way. So we try not to say the word midget. And when we do say the word midget, we apologize. For saying the word midget. Instead of being called small men, um, are now being called small people. Further, the changes to these books reading from national public welfare radio further, the changes to these books include adding language, not originally written by the author. In his 1983 book, the witches, he writes that witches are bald beneath their wigs. I didn't know that. According to the telegraph and added line in new additions, says quote, there are plenty of other reasons why women might wear wigs, and there is certainly nothing wrong with it. It's a child storybook. The publisher, puffin, and the Ronald Dahl story company, they manage the copyrights of the books, did not respond to NPR's request for a comment. But the Ronald Dahl story company told Associated Press it worked with puffin to review the books out of a desire to ensure the stories and characters continue to be enjoyed by all children today. Well, that's nice. That's thoughtful. In other words, somebody went to them and said, hey look, here's the deal. You're going to change these books or we're not going to publish them anymore. That's exactly what they did. Quote changes were small and carefully considered. I don't care if the guy forgot to add a period at the end of a sentence, if that's the way the book was written and published, that's the way it should be. This is nuts. Suzanne nozzle is with a free expression group. She says amidst fierce battles against book bands and strictures on what can be taught and read, selective editing to make small works of literature conform to particular sensibilities could represent a dangerous new weapon. I think she may be British because basically, she's saying this is not people. This is nuts. Those who might cheer specific edits to dolls work should consider how the power to rewrite books might be used in the hands of those who do not share their values and sensibilities. By the way, Salman Rushdie is weighing in on this. I hope he's doing well. You know, he was nearly assassinated. A couple of years ago. Anyway, he said this is absurd, censorship. And they ought to be ashamed, and he's right, people should be ashamed, but this is a classic example of how the left is going in and literally rewriting our history and rewriting our books. All I can tell you is, somebody did that to one of my books, we'd be able to come to Jesus meeting..

"I mean, that's just, we've done away with it. Now, some words were removed, but others were completely added in. New words. So not dolls original text, including one new passage from the witches. A lot of you like the witches growing up. In that book, there's this idea about witches hiding in plain sight, who are actually bald under the wigs they wear. And the main character is describing his plan, how he's going to identify the witches in public to his grandmother. And he goes around and he pulls women's hair to see if they're witches. And in the original text, the grandma says, don't be foolish, my grandmother said, you can't go around pulling the hair of every lady you meet, even if she's wearing gloves. Just try it and see what happens. This is the rewrite. Don't be foolish, my grandmother said, besides, there are plenty of other reasons why women might wear wigs and there's certainly nothing wrong with that. Oh my fucking Christ. This goes against everything the author had in his mind when he wrote this passage. You know, okay, yeah, people wear wigs when they're going through chemotherapy. People wear wigs when they transgender and there's nothing wrong with that. Fucking gross. So many other goddamn examples that were just whipping around Twitter over the weekend, including one where, you know, inclusive removed gender terms. Like female females removed. A lot of people are saying these changes are ridiculous, like me. It's just another example of woke culture, just going too far. Let's take a look at James and the giant beach. The cloud men have become cloud people. Just like the singer Sam Smith doesn't want to be a fisherman when he grows up, he wants to be a Fisher then. Miss sponge is no longer the fat one, miss spider's head is no longer black. There's no more color black. And the earthworm no longer has lovely pink skin, but lovely, smooth skin. So pink is bad and black is bad. And fantastic mister Fox. He describes tractors. Saying that, quote, the machines were both black, that's been cut out. Funds, the little potbelly dwarf is now plain old bunts. He's no longer pot belly, and he's not a dwarf. Fat little Brown malice has become little Brown now. See? Nobody's thought anymore. Here's your little boy, she said. He needs to go on a diet. Has become here's your little boy. One more dieting, this is what's known as woke environmentally friendly book burning. It's no different than starting a fire and toss in books on it. This is the same thing. So they're basically doing their capitalizing on doll's name and the legacy to sell sell sell, but secretly, they've altered large parts of his work. And it's unbelievably arrogant. It's dishonest, and it's bullshit. And it's deceptive. Because the work is no longer Roald Dahl's original work.

"Do you got, Sam? Charlie Hart and I just got practicing place down on gibbons avenue historical. I thought you'd like to know we found a gun in the back of the place hidden under a lumber club. All right, to check it out. Yeah, rancher gun record is registered. What's the name? George Delano. 7 38 a.m. with the new lead on the alleged boss of the gambling ring, George Delano, we interrupted our questioning of the suspect Mike filmer. We took him down the hall back to the homicide squad room to be held for further interrogation. We checked galeno through RNA, but we had no record on him. Then, along with sergeant Sam flowers and Charlie Hart of homicide, we drove out to the address of George Delano as listed in the gun registration file. It was a small cottage in the wheelchair area. The woman who answered the door identified herself as misses George Delano, the suspect's wife. She called her husband to the door, we identified ourselves briefed him on the reason for our visit and told him we wanted to talk to him downtown. He appeared cooperative more than willing to come along. He got dressed, we drove him back to the city hall and took him to the interrogation room. He was well dressed and in his own way well mannered. After being told of a situation he admitted freely that he'd been operating games at different locations throughout the city for the past month and a half. He told us that he'd employed Mike filmer to assist him in his operations and he also admitted ownership of the gun found near the murder scene. The gun had since been checked by breast cancer and ballistics and found to be the murder weapon. Well, yes, it's my gun, but I like to explain a little bit about it. What's that Delano? Number one, I admit I'm a gambler. That's my racket. I'm noodle Los Angeles. I'm admit I've been working a few games, but I'm no murderer. I wouldn't have any part if you said you were going to explain about the gun. I would have bought it. Now look, I'd like to fill you on everything off. I got nothing to hide from you. I'll tell you everything. When I first came to this town, as I say, it's been about 5, 6 weeks. I made a few connections. And I started running these games for the first couple of weeks. Everything went fine. No B, everything was fine. Well, I had to do is doubt you color and then the trouble started and how do you mean? You might if I have a smoke, a little upset. Be careful? No, no, thanks. I want to fill in from the start. I'm going to clear this whole thing up. Yeah, that's what you said. As I told you, the first few weeks everything was fine. Then one night when the game was just about ready to break a couple of punks came in, held us up and cleaned everybody into place, made a big haul. When was this? Where did it happen? Down on each side, on stickers for everything. You know how it is. Couldn't make a report to you. I just had to take it over the last of myself. How about that gun? I'm coming to it. This thing happens, and I figured at the end of it, but no a couple nights later, they hit again. I still can't squat. You have to stand the losses. Another couple of nights they knock us over again. Couldn't do a thing about it. All right, we've heard all that. That's your racket. You can expect it. All we want to know is about that gun. Now, what's your story? I told you, I was coming to it. After the third time, they reached this, I hired a guard, somebody stand watch outside in case of another stick up. The only thing I could do. So I hired some guy to stand guard on the game. I wanted my gun in case there was any trouble when he told him to use it in case there was trouble. Yeah, that's right. How about a race in the police you tell him to use it for that? I don't know, a matter of fact, I made a point of telling him about that. All he was supposed to use a gun for was just to fire it up in the air, maybe scale those punks off and warn the guys inside at the same time. We'll talk about that later. Delano, we want to know who had the gun last night. Well, a guard did. I told you I loaned him again. Who was the guard? What's his name? What are we finding? His name's Jake, a friend of mine, got him on a leasing lease, of course he lived, couldn't tell you that. I don't know. I always contacted him at a bar in soft for a month, like I go quite a bit. A little too early to catch him there now. What do you know about this gleason? What's he look like? I don't know, I haven't seen him much, I guess he changed about 32, 33 and light brown hair tall. Ex con I think either he told me or somebody told me the time. You knew he was an ex con and he gave me a gun. Well, yeah, but I didn't count to shoot anybody. I made a point of telling him that and the jerk, especially shooting a cop, all he was supposed to do is fire up in the air so his punks came around, scare him away. To help me, that's the only time he was supposed to use a gun I told him. How much of a story do I know? Can you prove and sure I can prove it? You can ask my filmer and tell you the same thing. You can ask gleason himself at Mike said he wasn't too sharp, a little crunchy, wasn't quite right in the head. I said he was a little punchy. He wasn't quite right in my head. I mean, you met him in a bar, he didn't know anything about his background. You knew he was an ex con. He had an ID he wasn't too sharp. Maybe he wasn't all there. Is that right? Yeah, that's about it. And you put this man on the spot where you knew he'd be in trouble, and then you gave him a gun. Is that right? How about a Delano? What are you looking at me for? I told the dumb jerk what to do. I didn't count to shoot anybody. Booze now. True. I didn't have a thing to do with it. I hired the guy. That's all. It's not my fault. What are you looking at? I wasn't even there. I didn't even know about it. I didn't kill Ed cott. Didn't you? 9 23 a.m.. We continued questioning George Delano. He told us that he'd instructed Jake gleason the ex convict to stand guard at the rear of the store where the gambling wounds were held. He insisted that his instructions to bleach will wear that if he had to fire the gun at all. He was the fire in the air, and then only as a warning signal in case of robbery at him. Delano was detained by homicide opposites pending further investigation. We checked the name and description of Jake gleason through R and I and found his record and mug shot. We showed the mug to Delano and he identified it. Gleason's record showed him to be on active parole. Ten 30 a.m. we contacted the parole office they gave us his address as Bill and I checked it out. The second rate hotel in south flower street. The manager told us gleason had left the hotel about 7 45 that morning and that he was not expected back until after 6 o'clock that night. He also told us it was a chance we might locate him and one of the bars around the neighborhood. Ten 45, which started making the rounds of the bars in the immediate vicinity. The third place we stopped at was practically deserted, the jukebox at the back of the place was turned up to full volume. There was a smell of disinfectant whisky and stale perfume. There was one customer drinking at the far end of the bar. It was gleeful. Stand up police and police officers. All right. Take them down, Bill. Answer back again. Yeah, I want to kill that jukebox though. All right, you know why we want you. Yeah, I know. There wasn't any sense running. I know you'd be around. All right, let's go. Could you do me a favor? I mean, wait a minute, just a minute. It's like to tell you I didn't mean it. I guess it's my own fault. I shot him. I shouldn't have had the guns from the taking a job. I shot him, I didn't mean it. All right, come on. I'd rather be away, don't you think? I mean, there really ought to be a way. What's that? I didn't mean it, no reason to kill him. I didn't even know him. I just keep thinking there was only a way if I could take it back again, you know? Yeah, we know. I mean, if I could go back and change it, make it all different. I mean, right from the beginning, I wouldn't even look at a gun. I'd change everything. You bet I would. I wouldn't even look at a gun. Only had the chance, you know? Second chance. There ought to be a way second chance. We started with a gun Jay, you know? He never had a first one. The story you have just heard was true. The names were changed to protect the innocent. "Went and started to layer fiberglass on there, which is crazy. And he had to do it in strip. For those of you who don't know if fiberglass is like, it's just a hard plastic. You'll see a lot of kayaks and stuff. Commercial kayaks made out of it. But yeah, he ended up it starts off as a liquid, and he ended up dunking in there, I think, strips of burlap sack or something, and then started draping it over this styrofoam dragon and then afterwards he ended up painting the whole thing. But you went through this whole process and of course it was sped up and he cut out a bunch of time in between. But just to see him go through the whole process did it look realistic? Yes, was it awesome? Yes, I can't even imagine how much time that took him. I mean, that was probably of solid work. Probably would have taken in like maybe a full week, but who has a full week to just work on something? And well, yeah, so your full-time job, but also he's like, you're just working 8 hours a day. I mean, like a full week in terms of like no rest, just like a whole week's worth of hours. That's like months in order to just recreate just the head of a dragon and then a couple subsequent body parts after that. But I think when filmmakers do it, they have bigger teams because to the point of making dragons, we see that Steven Spielberg built all the dinosaurs for Jurassic Park. And I mean, the velociraptors were what, like, 12 feet tall. Obviously that took time. But when you're filming it, it looks so cool. I don't know. I think it's so worth it. The time, I think the time is worth it. Plus you're giving more jobs to people in the arts, which I think is harder to come by than in graphic design or in CGI media. I feel like that everywhere. Like when I was doing some research for this, I was looking into Wes Anderson films because everyone's a very highly stylized way of filming and he builds all his sets of miniatures, so every long shot that you see are every building that you see is actually a set of measures that this whole team just spends, like crafting and building. All of fantastic mister Fox, which was also stop animation, so you have individual creatures that people are moving frame by frame. I mean, I think things like that. Yeah, it takes time, but it is. Stunning war. Yeah, I still think one of the best stories ever is from jaws. And they made the shark and they couldn't get the shock to work. And they come over the loudspeaker, they're shark is working. The shark is working. You know, I think this is hysterical. Everybody rushed to the scene to try and get this scene done. But if you watch jaws, it's just such a great movie. And the cinematography and everything. And just to know that the shock was actually a robotic shop, these people made. And you don't get that with CGI. You don't get the passion that these people put into making this shark. And just the amount of work that was put into this. I mean, I'm not saying that people with CGI don't put in a lot of work, but it's not the same at all. Just a quick side note, do you guys know that Martha's Vineyard actually has a parade where they also have jaws in there? They have like a jaws float. And I think it's like the 4th of July parade. Yeah. So they do. So I had a buddy that had a summer home there. And the Hamptons. I'm not those people. My friends don't have summer homes. I have so I go and visit them. They're like, oh yeah, this price going on. You should totally come with us. And I mean, one of the choices I have because I'm like, I'm hanging out. Okay. But I in town, 'cause I actually know people they've been there for a while. They ran into someone who was in charge of the jaws float and Buffy. No, it was a Buffy. No, I guess better. It gets better. All right. So she actually asked me to wear this jaws costume. So I did, it's a full on body suit. So, and the whole thing. And for like, I don't know how one of the things was like an hour and a half, two hours. Like, it was a really long parade. And it was very hot outside, especially in this stupid costume. I would like walk down the street and I would like these mothers with their kids sitting right there. And then they look like jaws and I would go and just like, I had this like walk that I did where I would kind of waddle a little bit and then shake my butt, just like a tasteful shake. And the mothers at colony over like, jaws. Hello, hello. You should get tailbone sign. But yeah, so anyways, that was the thing. That it really happened. I almost forgot about it until you told me. So I traumatized. Traumatized. I have no shame, Ben. Okay. But anyways, yeah, just. I see you on the New York shake that tail. Not at work, because you're firing me. So, I love John. Do you guys want to make me die laughing? And I also need to go to this parade. I think every listener is going to want to go to this parade. Oh my God. Guys, maybe we'll do a meet up and we'll go to this break. Can we do that? We'll see. We'll see. Our stuff is portable, so. All right, so back to art and film. So when talking about art and film, we can also talk about the composition of film because, well, I don't know if I want to go there yet. So sorry, I have so many notes you guys. I'm so excited. That's why she's the lead. So I'm so sorry. So what I wanted to get back to is when we look at films, we can also look at art composition. And this is something that we looked at when we were looking at Shutter Island and scream and films that are influenced by really important pieces of art. And while I was doing my research, I was looking at ones that I didn't realize, but I was like, oh yeah, that's really cool, like Ferris Bueller's day off. I thought that one was awesome. The whole list. The holy mountain, the dreamers. Did you guys see any of these? No. Ferris Bueller. It's not Shutter Island. Okay, so in Shutter Island, we can talk about shit, ryland. I have a whole list we can go there. I also like skip jump through it while I was working on an art project off the site because I do that sometimes. So you might need to give me a little bit more background. Okay, so in Shutter Island, there's a very popular image and it's when Leonardo DiCaprio is hugging his wife from behind. She's in a very beautiful yellow dress. And it mimics gustov Clements the kiss, and it's a very pivotal part of the moment. And I always look at scenes like that and it's like, was this shot influenced by the art? Or do people have parallel thinking when it comes to art and then we as viewers can pull these similarities out? Yeah, and while I actually, from what I understand, it was based off the painting. It was based off Gustav klement's painting. But I think to your point, though, it is very relatable. Like how many couples have hug each other from behind and then kiss the other. So it's really just, it's a matter of giving something that is within your daily life, something that you would do almost unconsciously, right? A different meaning, a different flavor, a different context, just enough. So you have more than enough context there to relate to it. And then you have just enough to kind of like change your perception of it. Like, oh yeah, I just coming up and hugging my significant other from behind and just kind of cradling them and then kissing them. But there's sometimes you can give it different contextual clues like in a movie with a lost love or consoling someone or whatever. And then also you have this interpretation of it that you can see from me. Or a painting that you might not fully understand, but it kind of gives you something to think about. And I think in a way, like luso Clements painting gives you that something to think about and then giving it context in a movie, it's kind of like doing a cut for a song in a way where you can take someone of a song or giant chunks of it or maybe even the whole thing and then put your own spin on it. So I thought it was really cool how he not only took from Gustav Clements painting, but he also gave it his own twist and context to it. So it wasn't just being.

"But then some of them are extremely artistic and beautiful. Including there's actually one that's one of my absolute favorites. It's called Tokyo olympiad. This is the Tokyo olympiad. Where's a good place for that? That's a good place. Yeah. And it's a beautiful film. I actually like, I love to watch this. It's really great. I watched it when the Summer Olympics were coming up this year. I was enjoying it, which was also in Tokyo. What was it made? 1964. Okay. So it's 1964. It's by Kanye Chicago, who's an amazing film director. He did some other things like Burmese harp and fires on the plane and some other things. But he just made this very impressionistic documentary, which is quite great. I actually like one of my favorite memories about this film is one time I was watching it with a director's commentary. Yeah. And my wife and we were still kind of early on in dating. She came over to my apartment and she's like, what are you watching? And I was like, I'm watching this documentary that I really like with the director's commentary. And she's like, you're watching a documentary about a documentary and I was like, I guess so yes. That is a nesting doll of some dorm room. By the way, I am talking with Matthew shed dorm. Shut up. Adorn. That's it. And he has two podcasts 6 months later, podcast and saint misbehavin. And also does stand up in the UK and if you go to QED, comedy lab dot com. You can find everything for that. Right. Great. So but yeah, the cartoon collection is the thing I got into, I guess kind of like around 2000? Okay. Kind of when I first got a DVD player like one of the first DVDs I bought was Rushmore. The western film criterion puts out all of Wes Anderson films. They love Wes Anderson. Hey, love Wes Anderson. They do. And I think that makes them a lot of money too. Okay. But I don't think they might. I mean, I enjoy was in. You know, I'm maybe basic in that way, but I do enjoy good Wes Anderson. We all have will, the ones that we love. Did he do the fantastic mister Fox? I do. Yeah. That was a criterion. That's one of his, right? Yeah, yeah. I think my favorite one, I haven't seen all of them. There's gaping holes in my media consumption. And Wes Anderson is not at the center of it. Charlie Chaplin might be. Oh, yeah. Sure. There's a lot of chaplain in the collection. Okay. Got a good stuff. But yeah, I didn't actually know what the cartoon collection was when I bought it. I just happened to buy a DVD of it. And then I forget how I found out about it. I think a friend was telling me about it. And I was just like, oh,.
