"When we got to live with it, it's one more question I got before we move up and move on to the upcoming field that you all are doing to kind of unpack some of these traumas, which is triggers, but you said something that I wanted to go back and give a little pushback on, but not in the sense of like combating it, but how do we solve it? And it was passion around generational wisdom and what I'm learning and even for myself after going through therapy after learning, connecting with individuals like yourself and getting mentally educated on certain terms like trauma and triggers and boundaries and things like that. You can't pass down wisdom that you don't have. And so it's a lot of the stuff that we want to pass into the generations, but we don't have to even think about financial wellness. We want to pass that on to our kids, but we wound up putting our kids in the same predicament because we don't have the tools to necessarily get ourselves up. And so I'm thinking about that to see what your perspective will be on it. No, great point. I think that's part of the issue. I've always called for every program that I've been a part of, I've always tried to initiate some type of parent or caregiver or guardian like programs. In other words, every program should have a parent component. Because to your point, many, many parents, and they'll tell us in emails or calls. Like, look, mister Brian, I don't know what I'm doing or mister Bryan, I need some extra help..

"I don't know what I'm excited about, but I'm excited. Let's dive in. Most hosts never achieve the results they hoped for. They're falling short on listenership and monetization, meaning their message isn't being heard and their show ends up costing them money. This podcast was created to help you grow your listenership and make money while you're at it. Get ready to take notes. Here's your host, Adam Adams. What's up podcaster? It's your friend. Adam Adams. And actually I have somebody that works with me on the show in the house, the virtual house. Mister Brian Newell, how's it going Brian? Adam, I'm doing fantastic. Happy to be on the show. Awesome. It is good to have you. And we're talking about show notes, because you know what's funny. I've been on a lot of the podcasting groups, for example, Facebook, and some other places where there's a lot of people wanting to know how to do show notes. And frankly, there's been times that I have somebody that's coming in and doing a discovery call or I have them on our show. So they're a podcaster. They're either wanting to work with us or they're having me on their show. And I look at their show notes and they just suck. They're just terrible. In a long time ago, I perfected the 6 part show note system. And then I forgot all about what the 6 part show system is because other people do it for me, including mister Brian Newell. So Brian is going to share with you just how it is that we grow your show. When we're editing and doing post productions for our clients, what are we doing for them? What does the show notes look like? What's important? What are the 6 parts? How do you do the 6 parts? What are the benefits of having all 6 parts? So that's really what we're going to talk about. We want to make sure that you're show notes don't suck. If your show notes suck, it's not going to grow your show nearly as much as it will if they're good. Brian, I make it a habit of not doing this to any of our guests ever..

"On the third day of deliberations as the first of the 27 verdicts were read and the judge said guilty Arbery's father Marcus loudly cheered in the courtroom CBS News special reports I'm Steve futterman Glenn ivy is a former prince Georges county state's attorney He's also been a defense attorney He spoke with W TOP's Dmitri and Dell about the verdicts what surprised him and what he expected It's fairly thoughtful verdict I thought So they didn't just convict on all things or acquit on all things They convicted on all 9 counts for Travis mcmichael who was the shooter But they also differentiated between that mcmichael and his father They didn't convict him of the malice murder charge And then for the individual that had the camera they acquitted him on four counts but convicted him on the other So it looked like they put a lot of time and effort into sorting through the evidence and applying the law You talked about roddy Bryan the man who made the video of the episode did you think that perhaps he would not serve any prison time or be convicted on fewer counts Well I did think he would be convicted on fewer counts I was concerned frankly that he might be acquitted entirely I was pleasantly surprised to see that he was convicted But I think you raised a good point sentencing still coming And I do think mister Brian's attorneys are going to make a strong pits that he should be sentenced in a much more lenient way certainly than Travis mcmichael who was the shooter Lots of people trying to make sense of this case just a pose against the case of teen Kyle rittenhouse and Wisconsin your thoughts Yeah I mean it's been a whip saw week from the standpoint of those two cases and you throw in the Charlottesville civil case against the neo Nazis as well but you know I think the point here was the jury felt that there was strong evidence that these three men with two firearms chasing one man who was unarmed And it's hard to make a self defense claim that's viable out of that So I thought the jury came out right here I had some differences with the rittenhouse verdict especially with some of the judges rulings but the concern I have out of the two of these cases combined Let me say it this way is that I'm worried about whether the country is on the right track with respect to finding justice in these cases I'm pleased with this case The harbor case certainly Derek Chauvin over the summer But you're really kind of come down to do you have to have video of clearer evidence of guilt in order to get a conviction in these cases I think that's a concern we're going to have going forward If George Floyd was about serious problems in American policing what about this case in terms of a person of color going about his life still being in danger for doing what we would call routine things That's the tossed up between this case and written house You know sort of the vigilante approach that many citizens seem to want to take especially with respect to black males but not solely is one of the challenges The other issue that came up in the rittenhouse case I thought was if you're in a situation where there's an active shooter what are you supposed to do Because the two people who were shot second after the first individual that's what they thought was happening They thought this was an active shooter case We've been telling people to try and defend yourselves and disarm the shooter But one of those men was killed another one was injured trying to do that So you know we've got unclear messages coming out of this week We've got a lot of work to do in this country but hopefully we can move it in the right direction Former prince George's county state's attorney Glenn ivy coming up on Public schools without librarians a problem that D.C. councils working on I'm Michelle Morello sports next to 14 WTO P and silver diner now bring you free lunch Friday for friends and family to thank you for listening to three winners every Friday Good for dine in carry out a curbside pickup Your choice Enter today at WTO P dot com search free lunch Sports at 15 and 45 powered by Red River technology decisions aren't black and white Think red Mount a rob wood for the capitals had a triumphant return home from their West Coast road trip scoring early and often to beat the Montreal Canadiens 6 to three coach Peter lavia led sums it up We got it out got it through and got it in and if that meant wouldn't it behind him in four check and that worked really well I thought we got away from him a little bit in the second period and if you come through the neutral zone you're not taking care of the pocket comes back pretty quick for the first period was excellent And I thought we got back to it a little bit in the third period and able to push more but the second period was just you know we just kind of shot ourselves in.

"Courtroom the three white men charged in the death of ahmaud Arbery were found guilty of murder After deliberating for about ten hours the nearly all white jury found Greg mcmichael his son Travis mcmichael and their neighbor William roddy Bryan guilty of nearly all the criminal counts they faced Civil rights attorney and former prosecutor Charles colman junior is here to talk more about it Welcome back to the program So glad to be here Thank you for having me Is this a case where people could see the verdict coming meaning what do we know about how the prosecutors laid things out that brought us to this point Well I don't think that we can ever see a verdict coming I don't want us to take for granted any verdict because everyone is always going to see some things differently And so the fact that they arrived at this verdict together was a testament to how clearly the prosecution was able to lay out their case to walk the jury through the charges one by one for east defendant and to connect each of the defendant's actions to the specific things that they were charged for and allow the jury to make a very pinpointed very clear decision which is what we saw and why we have the verdict that we do To get into the detail of that you have Greg mcmichael Travis mcmichael and roddy Bryan their neighbor who actually filmed this killing Can you talk about what their defense was that in a way has been rejected by the jury It was heavily on self defense That was the idea the idea was that this was something that they did out of fear for their lives For mister Brian the argument that his attorney attempted to advance was his client didn't have knowledge that the mcmichaels intended to do whatever it was that they intended to do But that his client should not have been held accountable because his role overall was minimal The jury did not buy either of those things I suspect with respect to the mcmichaels the provocation was just so great that it's very difficult to overcome it with a claim of self defense In the case of mister Bryan they did not convict him on the murder with malice basically They convicted William Ronny Bryant of what's called felony murder So what I see when I look at this verdict tells me that the jury was very careful to look at the specific charges and wanted to make sure that they got it right So the jury rejected the idea that their actions that day were somehow self defense and now I understand that the three still face federal hate crime charges So how does this set up that next case Well it's just up the basics I think this notion of a citizen's arrest which is also what the mcmichaels attempted to advance as part of their initial decision of defense before they switched gears Mid trial All of those things have been blown out of the water I think that we are likely going to hear during the federal civil rights prosecution of this case a greater deal around race I believe there was some conversation about the Internet search history of mister mister Bryan the use of the racial epithets as well as I think the presence of confederate flag on I believe the mcmichael's truck All of those are types of things that will add substance to some of the other elements of this crime but it remains to be seen what's going to happen once this interesting into the federal courts How do you think about this case in terms of its victim What does this moment mean to you as someone who watches these things closely Well I think if you're very important moment for about Aubrey I think it's important moment for his family and loved ones I do hope that they receive some sense of closure but in the larger scale of things it still is one that should cause concern And the reason why it should cause concern is because as that verdict was right today there were legions of Americans who held their breath We as a country can not rest until that feeling of needing to hold our breath to ensure that the justice system works as it is supposed to no longer exist And so it's important that we do not conflate the notion of justice for the accountability Justice unfortunately for our arbor he's out of reach because he's no longer with us and can never be made whole But accountability is what we saw today in that courtroom And I submit that that's a good first step That civil rights attorney and former prosecutor Charles Coleman thank you for your time Thank you so much.

We do you understand. That learning loss was a thing from last year. We understand that we also need to focus on the basics. The mental health part of that is huge of the have the basic needs matt. Education becomes very difficult. Mr nathan johnson. I think it starts with fear and uncertainty out of the classroom as a coach. I see things from that angle. If you're playing scared if you're uncertain you're gonna perform as well. So i think once we get to the point where we're in school. There's thoughts of being out of school. In e-learning i think that would help also think doing before and after school learning is also very important. Some kids can't get there so as a teacher out high school. You the shave off five or six minutes in black sessions. Those last twenty minutes are pointless. Not for all teachers. Some teachers are amazing. Pack everything great but a lot of times kids lose focus after ninety minutes make it eighty three minutes and have a study hall where kids who need help can get the help and the kids who are ahead can do their homework or read a book or something but i think that's the way to do it because kids need help they're behind they're not going to magically get their parents are huge part as well. I think it was that if you're a couple times engaged parents more often than not have students who are more successful. Those are the ways. All right so i think we made the rounds on that one. This one is a yes or no question so many again. Start with miss nicole cons pretty basic stand up again yes or no so we know this is currently not taught in in k twelve schools and whoever of this question i added that at the beginning because several of our candidates have mentioned it. "Our usual format of a live financial talk show either opening up the phone lines or recapping the weekly events because I had a very unique opportunity to get Mister Brian Darty on my program on the weekly wealth report here this morning and as I've mentioned before Brian is an expert in his field it which of course is related directly to social security he is the author of that book that I mentioned before a critically acclaimed and award winning book getting paid to wait bigger social security benefits the simple and easy way if you get an opportunity to pick up a copy of that book hopefully it it helps you but that Brian has been extremely knowledgeable and informative here this morning on the program as a kind of tease you all before we stepped out of the last segment I wanted Brian to take the opportunity to discuss how the spousal benefits for social security filing work so bright it maybe we can touch on that just a moment that would be great yeah spousal benefit is I think it's another incredible thing that social security does and you know when I first started learning about social security I I had a lot of surprises and most of them were good ones no I think social security really does bend over backwards and jumping through hoops to give people every opportunity to maximize the benefits and more on the way that the spousal benefit intimate in your industry are running this all the time say working with a married couple one of the spouses as a very large benefits in one of the spouses of the very small benefits in that case well we just real quickly sure the house spousal benefit works when we give you an extreme example let's say let's say the the the white was the breadwinner in her full retirement age but if it's going to be two thousand dollars if you wait until age sixty six to claim it let's say the husband he never worked a day in his wife and his benefits going to be zero so you think he would get anything on he's still entitled to receive a spousal benefit so if the white way since the late sixty six the claim her benefit she's going to get that two thousand dollars a month let's say of the same age husband turned sixty six the same time he can claim a spousal benefit and get fifty percent of his wife's full retirement age benefit fifty percent of two thousand is one thousand dollars it doesn't affect the size of the whites benefit she still gets two thousand dollars he gets a thousand dollars in the form of spousal benefits two thousand plus one thousand is three thousand dollars a month and he never worked a day in his wife if people need to be aware of this and you know situations where a ride the the husband is but if it is three thousand dollars in the white there's only five hundred dollars they they need to realize that a lot of times they don't that she's entitled to a spousal benefit it she could claim or five hundred dollars a day early and a husband good you know we'll be waiting to claim his benefits but whatever the hot the husband has to clean his benefits first in order for the white the claim a spousal benefit so what's the sequence or five hundred dollars to the husband has reclaimed his benefit yet he's still the lane it and this is where the run into situations were married couples we too much money on the table because let's say she claims it's sixty two whatever and she's gonna it's gonna be reduced only three hundred fifty dollars our own benefit that five hundred dollars is reduced let's say the husband wait until sixty six or sixty seven or sixty eight the claim when he does that she's entitled to step up to a spousal benefits increase her income by probably about a thousand dollars a month a lot of times married couples don't realize this and when he claims he doesn't step up to that spousal benefits and a lot of time social security won't tell you about this this is why I tell people you need to know what your options are when you go into social security because you can't count on them telling you that but she could step up to that Basel benefit increase and your monthly income from thirteen fifty skews me from three hundred fifty dollars the thirteen hundred and fifty dollars or another twelve thousand dollars a year what you need to be aware of that otherwise you lose that money and you believe a lot of money on the table so you need to be aware of all your options especially when it comes to the spousal benefits kind of like going right away to the grocery store and you know purchasing maybe boxes cereal paying full price for this year only to find out that if you would've waited until the next day I did that back sale goes on and it's two for the price of one right yeah exactly I I yeah so I mean they're they're willing so security I guess as a whole as you just mentioned they're not gonna they're not gonna publicize that spousal benefit if a spouse husband or wife has a year took their benefit early like you mentioned a moment ago five hundred dollars as their monthly benefit and the other spouse husband or wife has not filed yet they're gonna delay there's until age sixty eight or H. seventy and and there is three thousand dollars a month then that other spouse has the ability to get half of that three thousand which is fifteen hundred so step up to that amount correct even though they're only already getting a social security benefit yep they're they're entitled to take if they claim their own benefit prior to their full retirement age like the wife with five hundred dollars when when the husband claims because they claim their own benefits early they're not going to get quite fifty percent okay that's okay the formula that social security uses but it's still going to be a substantial jump in their income and when the husband goes into the claim there is a way around it sixty eight they need to be aware of that and I saw those the White should go win Intel social security now he claims I want to step up to the spousal benefit because again I've run into situations where social security doesn't automatically do this in the the wife is gone a number of years where she could have been receiving a much bigger spousal benefits but didn't know it so you you need to know this stuff when you go in well this is all great information here this morning again we're being joined by Mister Bryant RT president and CEO Phil tech assaulting company.

"Homicide we saw sex offenders among that group of individuals and a large part of those people that were charged ahead of three or more prior deportations so she says it makes the streets of Arizona safer we will hear from the other side of the argument in just a moment but I want to relate to you study that was done by the university of California Berkeley this was in twenty seventeen one thousand Californians seventy four percent oppose sanctuary city policies at seven out of ten while at seventy three percent Democrats the according to the Berkeley study results included seventy three percent Democrats and sixty five percent Hispanics so you could say well there is a bias to group there in my study and I was in California has been firmly in the camp of providing sanctuary cities and sanctuary states right but those who are troubled say it's because lawmakers are running it down the throats right people all right so now to the other side of this argument in Tucson voters rejected a proposal by the way to make to sign a sanctuary city by about a seventy to thirty percent margin when that vote came up this is Billy peered he is an attorney who support sanctuary cities and who objects to the federal push to arrest illegal immigrants it appears to be more of a crisis effort to it from my perspective intimidate or scare local elected officials and local policy makers from you know an acting future policies or perhaps intimating them to repeal or roll back existing sanctuary policies of their city level so that is a perspective from both sides from another state where they don't have sanctuary cities but going forward because of this new ruling which happened less than what three or four weeks ago you can expect now that the trump administration may begin punishing by withholding funding to sanctuary cities that don't cooperate what we just heard of me you know withholding funding one thing but also enforcement action we heard last week about ice agents being at the San Francisco courthouse like writing for the court house arresting of folks who are showing up there who were in this country illegally and showing up there for court proceedings right from the courts yeah right on the court steps exactly and and the I mean if you want to go to the heart of a sanctuary city San Francisco would be it right now so we are starting to see a movie more visible enforcement well off to the road to go to Mister Brian Knowles.

"The goose is good for the Gander what's good for the ride is good for the left one is good for the Republicans is good for the Democrats yes no huh fair and balanced whatever. okay much is being made of this effort to boycott businesses owned by trump supporters no so the story's going national and I don't know fresh talked about it I would assume he did it sounds like a Russell my story Kress or or even venture I don't know I was away from the radio a little earlier. did rather well thank you little problem close in the face the club is getting better. anyway that's why Mrs shows however in the story originated out of Pittsburgh. a local social media wizard a local provocateur what have you blocker his name is Brian bloom. yes Sir so you put up in a Facebook post a page identified only as band Kenny Chesney from Pittsburgh I don't argue is is Chesney approach from the artist I I don't know but anyway that's how it started and essentially he put up there a list of almost one hundred local businesses owned by people that donated money to Donald Trump and here's what he said to local media which or course descended on him like jackals as soon as the Facebook page was noticed you are well within your rights to not hand your money to somebody who supports that ideology so anyway and this year member but like take Frances conservatives ran I used to joke all the time about he was gonna have to boycott his Kerry get a coffee maker and as a yeti coolers and on and on he was going to quit buying things doubles at Dick's sporting goods who supported or didn't support or did support Colin Kaepernick I can't remember yeah just goes on and on it just becomes a blur after awhile. was it clicks but anyway so he says if there is a specific ideology that you don't support you are well within your rights not to hand money to someone in sports and ideology trump supporters have boycotted everything from Kerry to Nike. pardon me so I don't know why the other side can't decide not to give their money to businesses as well. so obviously sandy mark demarco Sandra Markle he is the chair of the county's Republican Party out there near Pittsburgh he's none too happy with look at what they're trying to do people who they just don't agree with. they want it taken punish. I absolutely believe that this is fascist behavior that I rejected. I'm not sure it's ever a good idea to. you know I am not a bumper sticker guy you might be but I just don't feel like getting in a fight with somebody in on the Walmart parking lot for no reason this is my policy call me wishy washy or not to not to a concrete in my ideals and my values but I just want to fight about. anyway so back to this Mister Brian broom when he heard about Mr demarco's comment he said I think that he should probably look up the word fascist.
