"About that increased the Bank performance yesterday? By the Bradley Braves, they get the win over northern Iowa fifty seven fifty four in dramatic fashion. They're down by eighteen and they come back and win the game. And the Bradley Braves are on their way to the NCAA tournament for the first time since two thousand six now back then they were very successful. They beat Kansas. They beat Pittsburgh. They lost a Memphis in the Sweet Sixteen but look out Bradley's probably going to be seated around fifteen which means they'll run into a to Kentucky or a North Carolina or Michigan state somebody like that is not gonna like seeing Bradley on the other end and congratulations to everyone in the Missouri valley conference

"And you gotta and you've got one of the best teams in the west is the game and a half out of first place, and they want earth's place that was laying five points. And it was is. I think it was an easy call on both those games. But at the end of the day, you look at those stats you look at those percentages start taking a look at bench points teams that go to their bench lot and get a lot of Vince point specially when they're catching more than five or six points. They're worth a look and it still boils down. You know, if you're not handicap at the schedule, Adam you're done NBA is all about looking at that schedule. How many wrote games in a day if they've been on AMI Roque games in the last seven days, they played descent and the other this team's off a long road trip? And now they're home for the first time, they did fairly, well, you know, on the road. And now, they're at home. It gets a team their fourth or fifth game you can find those situational spots. But. Again, there might be only one or two day. That's when you limit your betting, low volume, we're up ninety seven units hundred dollar players up seventy six hundred thirty dollars this year with my MBA program. And I'm the choir. That's all documented over doctors. All transparent, you go there and see that the the reason I say not bragging, I'm just I was able to do that pretty much betting one game day, Adam that's all I that. I keep the volume low, and we just keep plugging away. And you know, that's slow and steady wins the race in the NBA. Well, and it's kind of what we talked about, you know, really over the last two weeks college basketball. You know, there's a lot of parody. There is a wide swath of talent across most of these conferences, and you really have to dig deep into these handicaps, and the NBA it just seems like you just kind of keep it simple. And if it waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck. It's an NBA winter. Yeah. It's. Again, it's the eye test. Look little things, you know. You wonder this time of year about effort, you know, you see people giving up a little bit. Meaning that they're not bringing a lot of intensity. And the only gonna realize that I watching these games teams that don't rebound hard. You know, teams have a rebounding edge have a distinct advantage in the NBA is remember they're getting those rebounds inside of the paint and everything, and I mean, everything in the NBA is played about the ram everything, you know, teams like Detroit is coming on strong right now. There's a team that's on a roll drumming is very hard to stop in the paint. You got Griffin. You got some other role players there. And there's a team that doesn't you know, even white rep is on the superstar here this year when nine points last night for crying out loud in a big win. They had, but you know, at the end of the day there. Team is kind of buying into the team concept. They realized what their weaknesses are and they play to their strengths and they try and limit their weaknesses. And if you watch them in the paint, they get a ton of boards on and when they do that easy put back points because it's above the ramming anybody catching those rebounds is six foot eight or bigger, you know, and if they're adding some extra effort inside the paint where teams that don't want to you know, you're finding vantage is with teams like that as well. Tony George professional handicapper over at docks sports. What's going on over there right now? Tony. Well, tonight, we got limited card on TNT or forty and twenty two run in the NBA. And of course, we gotta play tonight in the funder and boisterous game and a couple of key angles and that one and then we open up both ally action tonight with a late game. And and also small selection on a double header with an AFC game as well. Of course, it's not forget NASCAR four this year. I got an ask are handicapped where he's doing Sunday cards, and we're forty one almost up a thousand bucks this year. Nascar all that could be found over that dot sports dot com..

"How much energy is Kentucky gonna put into the SEC tournament. When they got their eye on the big prize that sort of thing, so they're they're in same thing in the big twelve don't you every night you trying to figure out who's going to show up. I mean, you wanna bet that teams on the futures. You're right now, I think it's a I think it's risky at best. Even in some of the small congress three or four there's three teams win the mountain west this year. I mean, there's a couple I think a couple in the valley is either Drake or oil. But either one of those guys getting upset by a lower c- two team in the semis wouldn't surprise either. It's just one of those years. So I'm looking to spot play only and and figure out what's going on. Last night. Was a perfect example at them. You know, I did this on my YouTube video I do every day. If you looked at the Kim palm ratings last night you saw the game last night that was played in West Virginia. What's the Jinya was native ten on an overly on a spread and what outright by double digits against Iowa State? I mean, usually if you have a power rating difference of eight or six or seven points. It's an amazing. That's an amazing spread that separation between the line and a power aiding. And last night you had ten points. Even if you shit up two points for home court, which with Regina sucked all year yet. A eight point overlay against the spread nine times out of ten that's a game of the year scenario, and they got beat straight up. I mean, those are the types of things right now, they're going on college basketball that quite frankly. And I know you look at it every day do that has me still scratching my head as entering March madness, you usually during the season ten or fifteen games in you know, that well that teams who I think they are. You know, and you kind of get figured out. It's going right down to the wire here. Sometimes you just you see these results and just you gotta scratch your head and ask yourself is there that much parody or my handicapping wrong? Or is it just one of those years? I think it's one of those years out they could save to be thrown around futures bets. The last night was was kind of a rough one for a lot of people. It seemed I mean, you know, Marquette collapsed late, and they it was a disastrous end to that game for them state getting beat by eighteen at north western in a game. It was essentially how in flip North Carolina State losing at home to Georgia Tech, which may not NC state off the bubble. It was it was definitely one of those nights building. It's been one of those months already and shit. The madness March hasn't even really fully started yet. Oh, and the biggest, you know, there was a lot of services that like Marquette you yesterday I like them, but it just it didn't pass the smell test. You know, and a lot of times it's time to see and what you have in front of. You is exactly what you have in front of you. And sometimes you could take all the in. You know, guys like me, and you were watching games all the time. All the time. I'm watching reruns. I'm DVR and games. I I can't watch them all and then I'll watch them they'll one or two in the morning, you know, and you know, it's just one of those here in it's that time of year where some types of just the eye test. You just watch game watch teams body language watch. How a guy coaches, and you know, you you just wonder about the eye test and one of the eye test was for me, I stayed. They have not played that well down the stretch offensively. They have had problems putting it together they've had problems closing gains light, we all know about Hilton magic and trying to beat him in Ames and all this that and the other. But West Virginia is is. I never thought I'd say this about hundred seems dead last in the big twelve they suck in. The go on the road with Iowa State with the conference tournament seeding on the line with a ten point overly..

"Book radio that is with Tony George professionally and a gap or over at dog sports to them. And let me give you off speaker here at him. I'm I'm busy mauve alley term kicked off today. And that's one of my specialties so busy with that in the NBA and just try to just try to keep myself down in the foxhole. There's a lot of a a lot of this fire missiles going on right now. College basketball to look at it. They'll be sold is just carnage everywhere for a lot of people. So we're we're trying to navigate the landscape that is college basketball, and and looking forward to kind of get everything in the postseason where it's a little in my opinion, just a little bit easier than handicap in the regular season, which is completely unpredictable right now. Before we talk about the Missouri valley, and that does start tonight at seven Valparaiso an Indiana state. I just want to ask you in general when it comes to conference tournaments Sony, are you playing the futures market and playing those teams with the odds to win the or are you just looking to take advantage of spot plays and things like that sort on a day-to-day basis? Spot plays futures right now or again, completely unpredictable. I'm, you know, I'm not a defeatist atom, but I accept reality. And this is one of those years where the just don't know from day to day, let alone trying to stick it out on a future. You don't know. You've got in my opinion, three teams at least maybe four and most of majors conferences that can win the conference tournament. You know, you're talking big ten big twelve big east. ACC, you know, and then you have to worry about the powerhouse teams. You'll dukes kinda fallen from grace a little bit..

"Coming in off three straight losses. But against good teams. Toledo ball state niece torn- Michigan. And you have a situation where northern Illinois lost twelve straight in Kalamazoo. And you know last week we talked about the wack and the worst team in all of basketball, Chicago state western Michigan conference play shooting forty point zero percent. The worst team Chicago state shooting thirty nine point. Two so all of that points to western Michigan. Normally when all of those things would happen. It would be one of my top plays for my clients. I'm on the cusp of using it because northern Illinois is best player in leading score. Eugene German is suspended tonight. Now, he was also suspended last game. And I don't mind playing against the suspension as much as an injury women's injury. The team says crap you know, we were delta Blad blow a lot of times when it's a suspension. I think the team says, well, this kind let us down he screwed up, and, you know, next guy steps up in the next guy has stepped up so a waffling weather. It'll be one of my top plays of the night. But again, system wise, I think it's a great thing to look forward to because when you get these bad teams, and it's a close game where they're at home only getting a few points. It's been a solid solid play against. What as you look at western Michigan here going back to February second and then looking ahead to this Saturday, no place, six games and fourteen days. They play Tuesday Thursday Saturday this week all three of them know are at home. So no travel for them. But still a lot of basketball in a short amount of time for a team that's lost. What four straight games by double digits and a couple of them by upwards of twenty points. Yeah. You know? The rain is over for Stephen Hawkins'. I mean, he's been there. Fifteen years his contract is up this year or next year. It, you know, it's time for a change for them. You know, they are they are what they are. You know, they haven't had twenty wins since two thousand fifteen thirteen wins in sixteen sixteen win seventeen wins in this season. So I'm sure they will have a new coach for next year, excuse me. But I. It's a team that just shows. No sign of life at all. And even with an I use top player down. I it's still going to be one of my plays in my mix when I find allies my card, so you know, and remember yes this northern Illinois lost three team three three games in a row. And and yes, they lost their top player. But they do have another top score Levi, Bradley, he's just as good. They have they. So it's not as if the one player average twenty no one else averaged ten or less both players were very close. So they have a go-to score. And this is the same northern Illinois team at be buffalo to two and a half weeks ago. So, you know, put it in perspective that look at what they've done a body of work for the season. Not just what they've done the last couple of games. Or it's what's your top technical play of the week. You know, it's gonna be a totals plane. That's gonna be one of those lower totals for tomorrow. And it's going book providence under you know. I have one thirty is the number in my mind Villanova just one nine in one over under at home. They you know, we talked about slow pace play in the Missouri valley, they are number three hundred forty six of the three hundred fifty three teams. No one place lower providence. Six straight unders providence to and nine under in conference play the last three of these series has gone under by eight points per game. They played black January fifth that at providence. The total was one thirty seven and a half. So it might even come over that one thirty because because of what that opening total was, and you know, providence in the conference the number one team and defensive efficiency there last and offense efficiency. So I think the situation is going to be a nice nice low scoring game..

"I mean, you know, they've they got more press in the tournament that every other team has in the last decade combined. So, you know, you certainly you certainly our team that that has to take everyone's best shot. And again, you're just taking a beating every time. You play. I you know there. I don't think they're a team. They're nothing compared to last year where they had you know, multiple starters. And I think all. Five players. I averaged in double digits led by Clayton Custer who is back. But you know, Illinois state is at team this year. A little noise state is sitting at seven and five in the conference. You're tied for second with Drake in Missouri. State. Illinois state has all five players. I I'm I'm taking this from my reading. So it may not be one hundred percent accurate, but I'm pretty sure it is all five of their players averaging double digits when you have that type of team that that that that can hang into games that has multiple options late in the game in this type of conference. They're the type of team that I'll keep my eye on when we get to the tournament into arch madness. So on a game by game basis for a conference like this where you know, getting used to have that well defined whole Madge. We don't see that anymore. You mentioned, you know, the spread from the top teams and the bottom team for may from a standing standpoint, do you tend to sort of just shy away from a conference like this because of the variance level, or do you feel you have found some spot place here? You know, I found some spots. Close wise. I the Missouri valley has not been favorable to me. Like, I said, you know, Drake stands out to me after they lost Nick Norton because I played against him a few times, and you know, Nick Norton. What was a was a person who ah point guard who started every game last year a guard for almost started every game..

"Well, missouri. Valley matchup first time. I'd been to genteel. Yeah. I still haven't been there. What you think? I think it's fantastic. That's what everybody says I've been to a game at northwestern this year, I've been to do Paul's games at wintrust to the United Center for the bulls. And I've been to loyalists Bandbox, and they have the best place. That's not fair to northwestern because northwestern a real nice job. But when I was at the game students were not on campus. So wasn't as loud as maybe as it can be. Gotcha. If Michigan state or illinois's Hareb it's probably a louder game, but it's a small enough arena. And it feels like one of those really loud high school games where it's really small. Everybody's packed in there. And by the way, they did not have a big crowd at the game last night. But for that joint. I just thought this place is rocking yet. Very fun. Everybody says that I feel the same way about Welsh Ryan, and that was sort of what they were going for their where it's more of the intimate kind of right on top of feel. And the game. I went to his when Michigan was in town. So there's a huge it was it was jam packed there. So it was a great environment and everything so. College hoops in Chicago making some moves right now. Yeah, I know it and so so and it was funny because Drake comes out and their first four trips down the field down the field down the floor. They switched their three pointers. They had twelve points before you had your first bite of popcorn. I thought okay, it's going to be a good basketball game and we were down, and then we were the better team. And then for that point on we we pretty much steamrolled them at the end of the first half. We were already up by maybe fifteen eighteen points. They should free throw and miss couple seconds left. Our guy gets the rebound. Just kicks it out to a guy free throw line extended. He heaves it three quarter court swish love it. I love that crowd goes wild. Yeah. I mean, they did they really did. They storm and everybody ran up to the kid. But then they get in the locker room come play the second half, and they shot. Well, that was a fun game to watch. And it was the student. Section packed. What did you see that? Yeah. There was actually there is a pretty great student turnout, actually where the students were sitting. It was pretty full. And then the rest of the place was maybe fifty percent. That was not a great night last night. Everybody was predicting that there was going to be this terrible ice storm, and it was a week night. And I don't know if Drake draws, but it was it was a great venue, and it was a fun game to watch. I gotta get there. Everybody talked to you about that that arena that stadium has said basically, the exact same thing you're telling me right now. Yeah, you got to do that. In fact, I'm trying to think of now we're gonna actually got to go see you. I see game. Maybe I should go. Check out the Maroons at the U of C. Doug Collins court at redbird arena. Make a little road trip down to Bloomington. No, I'm not going to. Okay. I'm telling you. It's fun down there. Begnaud Lada redbird hoops games. Yeah. Easy to our drive. I went I didn't miss a Bradley basketball game for about ten years and the biggest basketball event south of I eighty in the state every year was the ISU Bradley game in Peoria or the war on seventy four. Yeah. Yeah. That's right. And I don't know that they still have that anymore. Neither of those teams are as good as they once were Illinois state season last year. Not bad not bad this year. But I think the Missouri valley still one team one one one team one tournament team. Stay with f they were leaders in valley going into last night. And then Illinois state got blown out at home and Lola one. So the ramblers right now on top of the whoever wins the conference tournament. It's gonna go. Right. Nobody's going to get a big. We're not gonna have two teams from this conference. That's for sure. Right. Okay. Just wanted to share that with you. And sister Jen after the game. So then we were trying to get out of there and beat the rain and snow, and sleet, and actually here's some of the president's speech. And so we're walking in the corridor, and they closed off the quarter where we're going so that the team can exit the the floor, and then they go through the corridor. You know, the mezzanine there where they have the snacks and stuff like that. So you kinda gotta wait for them to come. But it's kinda cool because people are sitting there applauding when the guys come through there shaking hands and high fiving the fans, and it's just a really nice intimate small college touch. I love that. You know, you don't get to do that. With the bulls, for instance, maybe northwestern has something to do. Yeah. And then when they they all the players come through in the coach comes through, and it's very nice. And then you gotta wait here. Come sister. Jane? And they push sister Jade through she's high five and a wave into people. And he's amazing. What an I start. What a nice experience. It's two fifty six. Okay. The stories the better from the northwestern medicine newsroom. We'll see high to Rohan Anna next on WGN..

"Is is what you think it is. It's not Tom Brady Jared Goff, Tom Brady for Jerry off into skills challenge or something like that. Maybe he might beat them. But at the end of the day here, you know, is going to boil down to some coaching. And the reason I Br. Brought up the Kansas City game in Andy Reid getting his ruin coach, Sean McVay. It's not going to get his rear end. Coach stops the other thing too is I guess since you're talking about this. I play this is not Kansas City St. fence, this is night and day from what they faced in the AFC championship name on the defensive side of the ball, and what he Phillips's in very experienced coordinators. We all know past head coach the whole nine yards. You know? And I think Brady Mbela check as much as they'll like the Kansas City devise away to create man-to-man this matches and bad matchups. The other team teams are like Kansas City adjusted in the second half. And I think if Kansas City one of them wanted to what would have won the coin toss in that game because New England couldn't stop them. We'd be talking about Patrick Mahomes, and you know, tyreek hill right now instead of Brady and Etylin, but at the end of the day here, I think that the Rams have very good chance to win this game. I really do. But. It's just you're always gotta hesitate on that Brady and at factor. And that's really what gives me. Great pause, which I'm finding you know personnel. Grading matchups in the proper that's far more lucrative than the side or total here. All right. Three transition to a much different market here. That's college basketball. We'll touch on the Missouri valley we've been doing our conference breakdowns here. And the last time we talked about the mo- valley. Tony Valparaiso was leading this thing at four. No, well, they've dropped four their last five Willis Chicago now in the top spot, and that's probably where they should be. So the balance of power has shifted a little bit here in this conference. Yeah. It has this is this is there's a lot of apple flow last night of what Evans flow with this conference. You know yet? You know, the home teams are dominating Evansville goes down to Bradley last night, Drake. I my only loss I've been on a hell of a run in college got eleven four run in college basketball last fifteen and and you know, mauve alleys while we stick a bow valley play. My only law shift Drake who just got their rear end handed to them, you know, by a bad road team and Illinois state. Let's they fourteen points laying four which was just shocking, you know, in southern Illinois. It was kinda followed by the wayside anything going off physically your they don't stick up eight points last night on on Indiana state. And you know, I it's been a ontinue. It has been a. Topsy turvy a conference this year with no clear cut favorite as of yet. Which is a little bit concerning and a lot a real hard for me to handicap right now. Yeah. It's it's one of those, you know, we have talked about that home road dichotomy here, and that doesn't really seem to be working as well as it has in the past action, and you know, sort of illustrated by what happened last night, you know, and and yeah, it's just a small sample size. But still it's kind of been the running theme here. So well, I mean how how do you sort? This thing out you've got oil Chicago at the top Illinois state at six and three three teams at five and four two teams of four and five nobody in the conference has fewer than three conference wins. And is it Louis Chicago? And then everybody else in your mind right now..

"We will join the AFC division game between the patriots and the chargers. And then following that. We'll get the NFC. Division game between the Philadelphia Eagles who travel to New Orleans to face the New Orleans Saints. And then the racing report was saying the Sunday supplement and Willie from nine to midnight tomorrow night. So that's your Sunday rundown. Yeah. Let's talk a little NFL little colts with Ricky in Indiana. Ricky what's going on? Fantastic. Brother. What'd you think? Are you? Well, yeah, we're waiting on the Los Angeles Rams season to end because it looks like Zack Taylor the quarterbacks coach is going to become the next head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. So more power to the Rams and does act Taylor. Get a new coach in here. And let's get this program. Back on track. Because I don't believe it's one of the worst jobs that were opened in the National Football League. You've got a patient owner you've got out several outstanding players you just gotta keep adding to that Ed to the offensive line. And you know, Rick I can live with Devon white because I mean every mock draft see has LSU linebacker Devon white six one to forty. He's an absolute stud going to the Bengals at number eleven my feeling is. And I like the Bengals quarterback. Andy Dalton the red rifle. I think he can get you to the playoffs. I don't thinking he can win you a Super Bowl and a guy. Can I believe is Dwayne Haskins some day, and I like the Bengals to draft a quarterback into Wayne Haskins. He probably won't last two eleven. So you might have to go up trade up and get him. Okay. He's probably gonna go to the New York Jets or giants at six. Okay. And what what I'm afraid of is it the Pittsburgh Steelers knowing that Ben Rothlisberger is on the eighteenth tee of his career what one year max to me probably next year. Really should be it for Ben. They could definitely trade Antonio Brown because he is absolutely fallen out of favor with that franchise. Get a first round pick for him and use those picks to move up and take twain Haskins and. A whole bunch of Buckeye fans will become Steeler fans. No doubt. If that happens. So Ricky, and I know you're looking forward to baseball season, brother. So am I we're gonna talk who's going to be the reds center fielder? You got any predictions for me? Right now. Right. Well, I'm gonna put my chips to the middle of the table. And I'm gonna take Philip Ervin. Let's give him a chance and brother, we will talk soon. Appreciate the call from Valparaiso, Indiana, man. You are the man. Thanks so much Rik in Valparaiso Brandon's in Indianapolis, Brandon. What is going on paychecks for a little bit disappointed with I'm disappointed with the I like the Bengals stupid. I'm a colts fan. And what? Yeah. That was disappointing. They just couldn't generate anything and this this could be at for Adam venit, Terry. It is. I think it is what he's had a great career. You know? But I I don't know if it's the weather had an impact, you know. But I think Kansas City now takes I mean, I don't know if they can beat nor I could be wrong. You don't want everyone account New England out. But I thought we had a chance trickster, and I think a lot of people giving the colts a chance because. Defense is effective. But today, I think they just showed what they are about. You know, I think whoever has to go there. It's going to be hard for if it is New England or the chargers, but you never wanna Brady out. But I don't know. I think this year the chiefs get that stick it to them just kind of a morbid sense of if the New England wins tomorrow to have them get run out of the gym at Arrowhead. I would love it. Sorry. New England Patriots fans, but van I am tired of them in the in the AFC title game. I I am to see it as far as as far as the Bengals go. I I hope I hope they get the right coach. You know? I, you know, I mean, you know, the the Rams seasons. Don't go one. In hope. I wish the best for Marvin. I think he was a nice guy and all time for a change. But with the quarterback situation you were talking about Dwayne Haskins if the Bengals could draft him somehow cut me, they tried the read rightful or. Kind of like an AJ McCarron type deal if he would he would tutor Dwayne Haskins for a year and then Andy move on and make bigger dollars. Elsewhere. He would be trae trading. Yeah. He could he's like Alex Smith he could make a bunch of money elsewhere. But but the, but but groom Dwayne Haskins free year Dwayne takes over and twenty twenty. Andy Dalton moves on. I don't want to hear about what you're saying. Is you don't think doll the guy that can get you over the hump and away? Correct. Yeah. I think it probably win you a playoff game. I don't think you can get you to a Super Bowl and other that great guy. He's a good career. He's a good player. But I need an impact player taking snaps. As far as you say real quick. I know you won't get so much time as far as you see. Because were going on. 'cause I mean with not follow Butler, and because I'm from here. But. Did listen to you? See I don't think there's good as last year with oh, look who all you lost. But obviously football game tonight. But I did hear Macron's comment. He was not happy. But I think they're going to be okay. I guess against they're still NCWA. You probably know more about fourteen in three, and this is a very balanced deeper American athletic conference, and I'm loving the fact that Wichita states in there, and it's bringing back memories of the old Missouri valley when I was a kid, and that was the best conference in the land. And Brandon I gotta run man. Thanks. Yeah. Baby. I mean, I think so I really do. Yeah. They're starting to find themselves in just a huge boost to beat to beat Georgetown into comeback. Like they did. Thanks so much. I appreciate it. And I want to talk a little Cincinnati Reds when we return who is going to play center field for this club. And I wanna talk a little bit of the lineup one through eight man. Yeah. When we return

"Of the Missouri valley Drake the BULLDOGS in the Missouri valley for years and years. Justin was a member of that Drake BULLDOGS basketball team. And he, of course knows who's hoops. So I said, you know, what I'm going to get you on the show one night tonight as good as ever so figured I'd get them on by the way that score was going to get to Michigan had a thirteen point lead. Forty three to thirty in Evanston against northwestern. I took a shot on the cat plus six at home. Chris Collins, a former Duke guys said he's going to have them ready or they win the game. But they did come back and they only lost sixty two to sixty. So they do cover and get me the money line went down to minus five and how about this. I mean that game was on and overpays the total in that game was one twenty seven down from one twenty nine and a half and finishes at one twenty two. That's a north western type game be lines guys. They got some more scores. But at the end of the day, Michigan, the maize and blue get the W, but northwestern gets me the money without further ado, I welcome. Justin Carlson, and that just sounds like a Missouri valley named Carlson. I mean, there's I mean, how many Carlson's have played as there's several names that you look at the core versus the, you know, all these these names these families over in the mid west and a lot of times they'll go to the same school that may be big brother went to. But a lot of times they may not they may go to a rival school of that. And I've enjoyed watching zuri valley basketball for a long time. And I love when they get into their tournament Justin when they do arch madness because you have March madness, but arch madness because it's played in Saint Louis, but first off a little background on Justin Carlson and welcome to sports X radio. Hey, it's great to be with you. Thanks for all right now. Tell me how did you first off before we get into Missouri valley in your college? And all that good stuff. How did you end up in Arizona? Was it just you.

Final Four Committee Looks To U.S. Bank Stadium Basketball Classic As Warm Up

"Bigger than what we're seeing this weekend. The the blackout curtains at they're spending all that money on for the final four are going to take away those beauty shots. And I remember on Sunday night football for bikes and Green Bay. Those are some of the great shots of the stadium when they get those aerial views Ray able to look down in the stadium in see the ribbon boards and see the fans and the field. That's not good. That's shots. Not going to be available during the final four because all of that is going to be covered. I understand. I think that's one of the best things if not the best thing about that stadium. Is that you get light coming in and different times of the day. It just looks so nice to be reminded of like what's outside. You're not just kind of closed in. It's just beautiful. But the point is obviously TV is a huge point what they need to control the light to have things consistently throughout TV also for the players because you can't be shooting in any sunlight that's just streaking across the court has to be consistent at each time of the day. So there's consistent playing conditions, but it's going to feel so much different to have those blocked up. I don't know what the square footage is. I think it's in the hundreds of thousands or thousands that they're going to have to cover up. That's why the price tag is. So big. But I think it's going to feel a lot different. Yeah. I think the stadium is it'll be neat to see. And I'm sure the media will be allowed in during setup. Because I imagine the setup for the final four will take a long period of time. You know, what they need to do this need to you're talking about the lights? And you know, it's natural. Sunlight this need to take the final four one year to Rucker park. Just take it on the blacktop record park and just let them settle it. Like the old school days used to do that. That's right. As a matter of fact, John folk did an interview with Taj Gibson who grew up in Brooklyn, and he grew up playing on on courts like that. It's a fascinating interview with Taj Gibson about playing in that environment and learning how to play the game on the streets with these crowds in haven said there were people that would give you instant feedback on your game. You know, things that he couldn't certainly say in the interview of folk, and we certainly couldn't say. But he said it was it really toughened him up and got him ready for career not only in college ball. But now in the NBA, it was a great proving ground, and when you are able to play with let's say, not ideal conditions. Not the best rims. The best backboard the best floor best shoes. Anything like that? And you can still play. And then that just you know, is going up your credibility and your skill level. When you have all those conditions in your favor. Yeah. Great story. It's coming up tomorrow on timber wolves week in review at five o'clock, you brought up playing in the park on the blacktop Taj Gibson had a ton of that in his early life. All right Sloan good to visit with you. Thanks so much two more games today over at US Bank stadium friends from South Dakota are in is it the South Dakota state or South Dakota, South Dakota state. There were some people that I saw earlier today in downtown with South Dakota state gear. So that so that was nice to see this is actually like their color scheme is fairly nice the blue and the blue and gold and the gold, but it's South Dakota state taking on northern Iowa. So Missouri valley in football. But different summit, isn't it? Yes. The Jack wraps in the summit league in the Panthers are in the Missouri valley, and then going on a believe right now. The early game is North Dakota state taking on Drake. All right. So hoops over at US Bank stadium

"Cbs sports radio when you see a team that's an eleven make it to the final four the easy argument right away for a fan to say is that the selection committee got it wrong they were under seated well let me go and this is your network and i have a complaint you know we have let's go back to the missouri valley championship in the championship game cbs is making the announcement that if they don't win this game they're not going to the ncwa tournament now when you say an eleven seed is playing for the final four they get seating wrong i don't know if they got the seating wrong or not it doesn't matter it just goes to prove that there are great change every year coach just to say this when i was in kansas all time anybody can be great for one game on one day and then if you checks fire you got a lot of guys that have confidence but you know i i think the thing that hurts things like whole yola or mid major teams to be specific or just the view that we have in the media and we could check one step further and another sport and football you look what happened with ucf this year and if that's not one of the greatest tweets i've ever seen this year when you have treated tweeted to graduate nations to you mbc if that didn't sit in the message i'll tell you something else that crossed my mind last weekend when you see chicago advanced to the final four wichita state used to dominate the missouri valley if they never switched over to the american we may not be talking about loyola chicago because they could've only maybe been one seat if wichita state did find a way to win that conference that they were still under this past year zach i think you'd make a great point and the point that really needs to be back we've got to increase the size of this tournament fancier but there are really good change there were good teams that played last night when you're not g championship there were good teams that played to start in the championship have they not been on the on the road and played on a neutral site that they would have gone games and she doesn't like tournaments well jeff jones day from old dominion.

"Of luck the remarkable cinderella story lehohla chicago from the missouri valley conference in eleven seed making it to the final four of the ncaa tournament it's not unprecedented there the fourth eleven seed to make it to the tournament but a big part of who gets ahead in these tournaments and who doesn't is what happens in other games loyola actually never had one really big upset the teams that they beat were seated three six seven and nine they never had to beat a one seed and they never had a beat a two seed because essentially that was taken care of for them for example after loyola's win in the first round in which they beat i believe they beat six seed in their game i in the first game that they played in the tournament they had the advantage of being able to play down the road a kansas state team that got to where they got because they got to beat maryland baltimore county and they only had a play maryland baltimore county because they beat the number one seed virginia in other words the number one seed in the hall bracket virginia loyola never had a play them nor do they have to play the number two seed in their bracket because somebody else beat them as well true every team that they beat had a better season they beat but the seeds that they beat were three six seven to nine and i think those are the numbers three six seven and nine or very very close to not having to beat anybody really much better than them the thing about that bracket is you've got for all this talk of upset upset upset on the other side of the bracket the right side of the bracket both number ones made it kansas is the number one seed and so as villanova and even on the left side of the bracket michigan is a number three so even with all the supposed chaos you go to the final four with two number ones and number three and really only the one outlier in the number eleven seed in loyola there's no reason for me not to speak my guns especially since they're winning every game decisively but it just seems to be the villanova is at a different level from all of these teams and i'll predict the villanova please michigan for the title that's right prediction but by.
