"Scott really was game to do all that stuff. I saw him, I saw him playing Hamlet at the old globe theater. And I thought he was wonderful. And, you know, you try and put the pieces together, he had to get a haircut, right before we were filming singles. 'cause he was doing young, right? Yeah. Yeah, he got a haircut that was a little too short. I mean, now, of course, it's okay. We should have just like died his hair platinum on or something. I don't know, but that length of hair beetle came now, but at the time it felt like a little out of kilter with the look of that guy who is an in between guy between the scenes. He felt a little bit more of a business guy. So, you know, you try and make it work and everything. We actually did a couple of takes with a wig at one point. And it's just a wig is a wig. We were just like, yeah, let's do it. Let's just do it the way you are and let's do it. Let's. Let it rip and he and Kira sedgwick had a very great relationship. And so hopefully there's some truth in there. But it doesn't play like a documentary. And that's okay. What you had, you wrote a diary thing like your diaries for making the movie. And that's good behind this scene stuff you and Ken was. I always thought my dream guy for that role would have been River Phoenix. And I don't know what kind of state of mind he was at that I know he was starting to have some issues at that point, but the straight version of River Phoenix's career if he doesn't get sidetracked. That would have been there. So for all we know, Campbell at the time was kind of developing what his style was going to be. So he could have tilted more to the River Phoenix of it all. Right. But he has a very kind of noble stature about his work. He's really a great actor and very director. And we spent that time together. We lived through it. And sometimes it's perfect and sometimes it becomes perfect. And sometimes it doesn't I mean, the casting, Jerry Maguire, it's like it has to be those two people. That's the other example of that, right? You just got two for two, and then you throw the script and you shoot it well, now you have an iconic movie. Yeah. But you can't graph how it's going to work though. Had come in twice and the last time she came in for Jerry Maguire, her dog had died and she was just not the right frame of mind. And she left for the audition and none of us even talked about. It was that moment in a room where you just don't even bring it up. It obviously wasn't going to work. And then, I don't know, 6 months go by or whatever and Gail 11 casting director really super good friend of mine says, you know, I can't get that girl from Texas with the dog out of my mind. Can I bring her back? I think she's probably not right for you. Probably not right for this story. Can I bring her back? And really, yeah, it was bring her back. She was a sweetheart, you know? And so she came back on a day when I think Mira Sorvino and Gwyneth Paltrow and a couple of other people. I think we're around probably Joey Lawrence Lauren Adams is in there too. I'm trying to think of like so. I think so, actually, I think you're right. And Cruz was there to read with them. And something happened. Renee walked into the room and he just made, she made him laugh. And she just came in with all that young spirit and there's a moment. I think I was even filming it, where Cruz turns around and he looks at me and he looks at her and he looks back at me like, wow. Come on. Yeah, come on. What are we doing here? Yeah, but it was also like a real human in the world saying, isn't she something? And that was the character. And so that was like Renee, we love Renee. To do a screen test together, but that moment, galvanized the fact that we could do an unknown against Tom Cruise, the ultimate known, and that would be Jerry Maguire. But we didn't know until that day. I said you nailed it too, but I sure changed rad tidwell, who is probably one of my top four favorite sports movie characters of all time. And the whole family, and it's just so unlike anything. The sports movie versus the RomCom thing with Jerry Maguire. I think I litigated this once. I can't even remember where I landed. Part of the reason for that, Russian commanders have to decide whether to fight, to take more territory or a defend the territory that it has. They don't have enough troops to do both. Another problem, they're running out of precision weapons, and they can't repair the thousands of tanks, personnel carriers, and general support vehicles that have been damaged in the war. You know the ghosts don't like to come to my house because I have a rule. Yeah. If you got a haunted, you gotta pay for it. Give me half that ring. I like it. Because to me, this isn't about, you know, and I'm whatever ten years older than her. This isn't about look at me or look at my body or anything. To me, this is about, I'm free to be me. And I accept everything about myself and I enjoy everything about myself and this is as free as I can be. And I love that spirit and that's what this is to me, so I would do it. But I'm not sure anybody would want to see it. I don't know that I would shoot a video of it. I think people would line up to see it. Get you an only fans. But let me ask you this question. Would you have done this at 37? Did you feel that free and that empowered at 37? I personally probably didn't. Like I think it's taken me this long to get to a point where I don't really care as much about what other people think. You know what I mean? And I sort of understand what do I really enjoy who am I really? What's fun for me, like that sort of selfish anger. Yeah. I love you, Terry. Oh my God. There's so much more for that. Yeah, I never say no to a streaking event. I actually never have. I probably should have when I was younger and even at my age, but I would so do that. It's so interesting. Yeah. Because to me, I never do streaking or anything to be like, look at me and all this stuff. It's purely out of fun, lost in the moment, free spirits. So I like that. That's great. This is a kind of moment that I always look at things like on your deathbed on your deathbed will you be sorry you did such and such and such. This is not, this is you will never be sorry on your deathbed that you had this experience. No, but look at the lady body. Like, the female body is pretty everybody wants to see a brass. You wouldn't do it? No. Have you seen like, if you really look at what's going on down there? And I appreciate that. Like, what's going on down there? But it is not pretty. But it's comedy. "Crime story impeachment which come on september seventh if i if i run my dates correctly. Here's my big takeaway from the abundance of trailers at they have released for this in the last three weeks. Really like quite a push. So and i think i'm starting to get the feeling like this is going to be an american story o. Oj simpson moment. Where i think we're going to revisit a lot of the stuff from the clinton impeachment monica etc. But i have a question about all these trailers. We still haven't gotten a significant amount of time with clive owen. His bill clinton which leads me to believe. They're either sitting on marlon brando in the godfather level performance or marlon brando. Doctor moreau level performance. Like it's it's going to be one or the other that is definitely a take and you may right. I choose to think about it slightly differently. Which is they have two things one. It's very very hard. I mean presidential performances especially in this era are almost uniformly imitations right and it's distracting to be like oath. He's just like bill clinton. Yeah whatever Falco place. Hillary clinton like i think it was a smart move to minimize them in the trailer because immediately becomes about. Wow clive owen. Doing a great job being bill clinton sure in it's distracting from the show. They wanna tell. I think the second piece of it is the from my understanding of it. The reason to tell the story about something that you know obviously isn't fresh and a lot of people's minds but i for people of our age our generation certainly is. Is it for. Sarah paulson to win more awards. That's going to happen. But i think it's more to tell the story of the monica lewinsky and linda tripp and people who were actually the prime movers of this. That shook the firmament that the much larger figures were resting

I got married wok and i got a new job and i won an emmy what i was consulted outset. That was a conversation facilitator close to an got his. I am well but it was still a traumatic experience. Part of it exactly was dramatic. Knowing that i was thrive people were hurt. That can be survivor's guilt do survivals guilt. And maybe some imposter syndrome won the show survivor guilt about that. As well as the most accomplished person ever met in my life top of. That's that's a fantastic wait f associated conversation. Okay okay so you could. You could give jacket jacket compliment. You are stop and see now. I don't know if that's what i'm supposed to do. Stop i would say no. But i'm not the expert. It seems like you to. Are it depended on whether you were saying stop because you were gonna give me some tips because frankly i was running out of things to say. This is a great point. It's depending on your role be allowed to do certain things that other people here the guests on the show would just talking about anything anything in the world that i probably should have stopped. But here's a key facilitator allow up. Because i have if be exactly have you daryl. Who who that's me was it and i i love. This is really good information. It's me who just right here. You can see me okay. Halos shaking shaking this guy. Yeah what do you think of that. Back up it. It is and that's a conversation starter for me. I feel like a lot of people have questions about it. Well sure yeah. I mean do you back into a room or i didn't see you walk. You were here when i got here. I had to took a long time to get in here. Should i punch his bottom. Yeah i think so. Is that what we do that. Auto as long not. Not not me no choice. Something's as big a you expect to be punched in it. I assume people are punching it all day or planning on doing. I want to put a stamp on. This can't put it on social media paying me. I delve into the images every night. When i look for myself. My husband's funerals. So how many funerals does he do a week. At least he a lot of people a lotta people who had a tough time but it's not death universe you have just been more regular funeral. That's you know this is a good idea. Because you know i've been to funerals and people say such nice things about the person i go. I wish the guy was alive to hear all this a lot of times they are. He does the big parties where you can be alive but you can lay the casket. It's like topsoil topsoil topsoil up. I haven't read game. But tom. Sawyer was watching tom and huck. I think it's called goodbye. Norma jean or something. That sounds familiar. Yeah she plays one person. Ashley judd plays norma. Jean wound she and and mira sorvino. Yes she plays. Maryland and norma. Jean is like the bad devil on her shoulder. Oh thing yeah very interesting. I sign up for that one. That's great. I like the concept on that one. Are you interested in dorothy. Stratton at all. I don't think i recall. She was a the playmate of the year and is a very dark story about the kind of sleazy pimped. I type character. That got her photos to playboy interesting and then wanted to be this van golly of her career but she left him and then he later killed her and there is a really amazing grim but incredible movie called star. Eighty that bob fosse directed about it. Okay that is just brutal. If you like the stories like this and it's all pretty factual there's some dispute over it from peter bogdanovich or later boyfriend. Who was boyfriend after you know. When she got killed he had nothing to do with it. But this story is fascinating. And there's a bunch of documentaries on her as well because again it's another example of a woman who's the subject of sexual fantasies nine control of our destiny and also came to a bad end by crazy guy. I am interested in those stories. I'm always interested in the stories. Yeah same here showbiz stories or some of the best stories ever for sure. Yeah and they're never predictable even though the ones that they can have Parallels like we're just talking about but there's always some twists. There's always some weird thing possibly because it gets to the heart of the light psychosis that's involved with going into any at sherve. Entertain very true. All that jazz is one of my favorite movies. I don't know if you just mentioned a bunch of stuff that i i haven't seen talking about a movie that you have insights however lies has never been like on my mood board. She's actually not in all that jazz. But i'll issue not who. I'm sorry. i feel like a complete idiot. I said the rufus wainwright did a complete recreation of minnelli's great carnegie hall show. So i mean. I don't think you have anything to worry about all that jazz. What is that. It's a sort of autobiography Fiction film about. Bob posses like directed by bob. Fossey and roy scheider plays him and it's a brutal self-assessment and all the women he had affairs with are starring in the film. It's about his workaho eliza. It's about his womanizing his perfectionism and all of that stuff and the style of the film is so profoundly Influential like for instance. The head was very much influenced by it. And there's like incredible dance numbers in it. of course. I highly recommend it. Okay enjoy it. Yeah yeah sometime. I love a movie night. I've movie opening fourth of july. We called one nation under god. That's a high school drama. I play the debate. Teacher trick the kids into debating. Should we put that phrase back or pledge of allegiance. You're a good guy or a bad good guy. Atheist college professor. Like gods now dead which is redundant. I shouldn't say college professor. Yes that is true. Well listen thank you so much for some of my best luck to you. So sam. Sorbo dot com dot net kevin. Sorbo all right. Thank you very much. Congratulations on the syndication. And walk into the new timeslot. Thank you it's good over here. That actually makes sense. Thank you very much anyway. I enjoy listening. Sore bows and it. Kinda touched on something analysis thinking about what have year Predecessors retired about seven or eight years ago pointed out that the worst form of child abuse to put your kids at government schools yes. That's the reason y'all were for exactly the reasons that y'all were talking about the garbage south are being taught or i should say indoctrinated with listened. There's so much of it tracy. I'm having a line issue. So i i need to. I need to let you go there. I'm sorry about that. You have a big delay between you and me is causing problems but you know what are the issues with public education right now. Is i think that it isn't a monopoly. You've got to pay for it whether or not you want and school. Choice is a great way to get around that if public schools had to compete in you know in some states Charter schools are becoming an aggressive entity. The public schools are killing jobs. Even though most of the charter schools are public schools. They're trying to kill him because they view them as competition the publishers. Don't like the competition. And i think he gotta have competition in schools. You fundamentally gotta have competition To improve things it very much. I mean for example amazon right now. Is it a lawsuit. Because amazon is allowing products into amazon. They're seen which products sell well and then amazon is recreating those products as quote unquote amazon basics. And there's a lawsuit. Now because amazon decided there was a popular smart plug you plug it into your wall and you could use your phone to turn it on or turn it off and amazon decided to develop one of course compatible with alexa and apparently it was overheating and causing fires in l. They're in a lawsuit because of this but what are the issues. There is amazon's monopoly power. How they're deployed how they're using it. How they're bullying people who go on amazon sell their product and then amazon suddenly competes with the product. That's monopolist behavior and their products. Tend to not be as good. And you don't know it because they elevate it and it's just a super deep problem that we're dealing with congress unfortunately amidst about this the other day it just got a gut left by the wayside with everything else. Congress is proposing legislation to deal with companies like amazon and even apple and google and twitter. And the like and amazon is is. He verbally the crosshairs because of the competition problem. The problem though is that congress doesn't know what they're doing i mean for example piece of legislation congresswoman jay-paul is issues one of the squad. She's writing a piece of legislation that would prohibit computers companies from selling software and hardware beyond the necessary components of the stack to run the operating system. Now if you're not a computer you have no idea what i just said but let me explain this to you. The stack to get your computer to operate. Are the very basics of computer code. By which your computer can rut so that you can see the screen and you can install software but the question is. This is the problem. Tcp ip again. If you're not a computer. Got no clue what i'm saying. Pcp that's the protocol by which you connect to the computer. The computer to the internet without tcp ip. You cannot connect your computer to the internet. The question is is it necessary because under the legislation the democrats are proposing. It's not because you can still run the computer operating system and you can get the computer work. You just can't get on the internet and they have a divided and this is the problem now. If i'm really honest with what's happening There's a less radical proposal and the less radical proposal. That has bipartisan. Support no less is almost as bad. It would prohibit companies like i know apple the best. So i'm gonna use apple you buy your iphone. What is your iphone. Come loaded with your iphone comes loaded with some existing software. It comes loaded with the phone app. It comes loaded with the With voicemail concluded with the web browser it comes loaded with Email app compared with the music app maps. Whether and all that. According to the bipartisan proposal by a bunch of congressman who have never programmed a computer in their life. Apple will now be forced to sell you the iphone without anything on it so when you low draft. Can you imagine the loading process the first time you get your iphone. Hi we're from apple computer. We can't load software onto your phone so now. Which phone app would you like to pick. Here are three thousand different phone apps you could be and under the proposal. They're not allowed to prioritize over others so they have put everything out but a quarter. Now they're apple so they would still come with eight. I'm sure they'll get sued by someone for that. But then you gotta go through. Okay pick your home okay. Now pick your voicemail okay now picture email okay. Now pick your web browser. Okay now pick your phone or your your weather app in your music apple not goes it would literally take you all day to set up your phone the first time you bought one and by the way how does apple build a phone as safe and secure as it. Is you notice. No one talks about viruses on an iphone because the way apple him they would no longer be able to design their phones in that way. So now everybody simply worry about Viruses and hey. Let's pick your antivirus app. Congress is probably not in the best position right now to be legislated on this they're scratching and it's bipartisan each against tech companies. But they're good about it in a stupid way in large part because of members know what the heck they're doing. They've got to get their kids to program their vcr..

Thank you very much. Congratulations on the syndication. And welcome to the new time slot. Thank you. It's good to have somebody here. That actually makes sense. Thank you very much anyway. I enjoy listening to house. And it kinda touched on self analysis thinking about one of your predecessors retired about seven or eight years ago pointed out that the worst form of child abuse to put your kids the government schools. Yes that's true for exactly the reasons y'all were for exactly the reasons that y'all were talking about the garbage they're being taught or i should say doctrine with listened. There so much of it in question is i'm having a line issue so i need to. I need to let you go there. I'm sorry about that. You have a big delay between you and me It's causing problems. But you know what are the issues with public education right now is. I think that it isn't a monopoly. You've got to pay for it whether or not you want. It and school choice is a great way to get around that if public schools had to compete in you know in in some states Charter schools are becoming an aggressive entity. The public schools are killing. Even though most of the charter schools are public schools. They're trying to kill him because they view them as competition the publishers. Don't like the competition. And i think he got to have competition in schools. You fundamentally gotta have competition To improve things very much. I mean for example amazon right now. Is it a lawsuit. Because amazon is allowing products into amazon. They're seen which product sell well and then amazon is recreating those products as quote unquote amazon basics. And there's a lawsuit. Now because amazon decided there was a popular smart plug. You plug it into your wall and you could use your phone turn. It ought to turn off and amazon decided to develop one of course compatible with alexa and apparently it was overheating and causing fires. Now they're in a lawsuit because of this but what are the issues. there is amazon's monopoly power. How they're deployed how they're using it. How they're bullying people who go on amazon and sell their product and then amazon suddenly competes with a product. That's monopolist behavior and their products tend to not be as good. You don't know it because they elevate it and it's just a super deep problem that we're dealing with congress unfortunately amidst drop by the day it just got a gut left by the wayside with everything else. Congress is proposing legislation to deal with companies like amazon and even apple and google and twitter and the like and amazon is is. He verbally the crossers because of the competition problem. The problem though is that congress doesn't what they're doing. I mean for example One of the pizza legislation congresswoman. Jay-paul is she's one of the squad she's writing a piece of legislation that would prohibit computers companies from selling software and hardware beyond the necessary components of the stack to run the operating system. Now if you're not a computer nerd you have no idea what i just said but let me explain this to you. The stack to get your computer to operate are the very basics of computer code. By which your computer can rut so that you can see the screen and you can install software but the question is and this is the problem. Tcp ip again. If you're not a computer you've got no clue what i'm saying. Tcp ip that's the protocol by which you connect to the computer. The computer internet without tcp ip. You cannot computer to the internet. The question is is it necessary because under the legislation the democrats are proposing. It's not because you can still run the computer operating system and you can get the computer to work. You just can't get to the internet and they have it divided and this is part of now. If i'm really honest with what's happening there's a less radical proposal and the less radical proposal. That has bipartisan support. No less is almost as bad. It would prohibit companies like out. I know apple the best. So i'm gonna use apple. You buy your iphone. What is your iphone. Come loaded with your iphone comes loaded with some existing software. It comes loaded with the phone app. It comes loaded with the With voicemail colluded with the web browser it comes loaded with Email app it complied with the music app maps and weather and all that according to the bipartisan proposal. By a bunch of congressman who have never programmed a computer in their life. Apple will be forced to sell you the iphone without anything on it so when you can you imagine the loading process the first time you get your iphone. Hi we're from apple computer. We can't load software onto your phone so now. Which phone app would you like to pick. Here are three thousand different phone app. You could be and under the proposal. They're not allowed to prioritize over others so they have put everything in order now. They're apple so they would still come with eight. I'm sure they'll get sued by someone for that. But then you gotta go through. Pick your phone okay. Now pick your voicemail okay now picture email okay. Now pick your web browser. Okay now pick your phone or your your weather app and your music app and on and on goes it would literally take you all day to set up your phone. The first time you bought one and by the way how does apple build a phone as safe and secure as it. is you notice. No one talks about viruses on an iphone because the way apple designs them. They would no longer be able to design their phones in that way. So now everybody simply have to worry about Viruses and hey. Let's pick your antivirus app. Congress is probably not in the best position right now be legislated on this. they're scratching itchy. It's a bipartisan. Each against tech companies. But they're good about it in a stupid way in large part because none of these members know what the heck they're doing. They've got to get their kids to programs. Vcr little on their computer. They don't even have vcr's their blu ray. They don't even know how to do that..
