"I am that decision maker in a certain way, but I have not globally that decision making my, my sense, is I sit here today is that it is very tough to kind of mitigate some of these vulnerabilities when you're talking about having this company, potentially allowing their software to have a code that allows for a back door for, for potential Chinese spying. I think that's very hard to hard tart, mitigate. But it does that look like, okay, you're gonna turn over all your source code to us before you're allowed to ship on product in the country. Is that where you're going to submit to testing like is there a method or their steps that you could see that would actually begin to mediate this problem? So obviously, the Panthers didn't have seventy seven picks. So this is the first round pick. You think would go towards you know, like, maybe an Ed rusher or a defensive lineman or I don't know weapon for Cam Newton or maybe another offense lineman. But no they drafted a quarterback quarterback will Greer who they were strongly linked to in the off season to the point. Where Panthers fans were freaking the fuck out because they they might take them enough first round of the graph. So Jon, give me your take on that taking will Greer with that third around competently selection. So it's pretty funny because Brad, and I got I didn't care going into the draft about what we did like in terms of drafting will Greer whatever by the time. We got to that hundred pick Brad. And I are both actively rooting for the fantasy pick him just because we're just. The man. Yeah. Aside from that though, I do like the pick because. Everything. Objective. And I know this is using my calculator again. But like all these plots pro football focus, and he's this article that linked earlier today from Espy nation that has these different dance stats to measure quarterbacks in how they translate the NFL will Greer is like borderline first round prospect based on objective analysis. I've got him into the third round like guys like. If if you take out like what you see based on, you know, their size into their coaches and with their mechanics like like him in Daniel Jones should have been drafted opposite spots. I think we got a valley. There's great value there. Whether or not we need it is obviously a for debate. But is never a bad thing to have a good backup quarterbacks that costs like eight hundred thousand dollars a year. I kind of feel like John was listening when we were talking when he wasn't Emma chat. Because Brad, and I were talking about the whole Daniel Jones will Greer thing. Radd. Go ahead. Why don't you share what you shared with me? Yeah. I mean, basically, I'm the same thing. I think will Greer. Has a chance to be one of the better quarterbacks of this draft class if he's needed to play and like. You know, Bill Parcells had a rule like there were seven commandments quote unquote that quarterback had to. Meet and if they met them than they were draftable, and I'm trying to find them. Okay. Three years as a starter is a senior. Did he graduate? Did he start thirty games? Did he win twenty three games was as touchdown to interception ratio at least two to one. And did he have a completion percentage over sixty?.

So we have I mean, it's it's it's pretty basic. We have a fantastic instinct competitiveness, gene. That's a key to progress. And that is we have a tendency to anchor off the most successful person, we know in your instance, it's you among all your friends, of course, if but the problem is there's usually are almost always someone more successful in your on different dimensions, and bumps you out, the aren't them. And that's that's important too for competitive for improving, you know, the evolutionary cycle, but it also can make you unhappy. And what we have with social media is we have essentially something especially Instagram where it's constantly being rubbed in your face sort of foam. Oh, I had it last week to appoint a friend of mine this woman. I know I use the word friend Louis. "I think that inside the NFL I think Jones was viewed a lot differently than he was outside by analysts like yourself, and and and many others who who weren't really that. Appreciative of Jones. Yep. Absolutely. He's been on the NFL radar for for long time. Well before this draft cycle, even and that's the I think the important thing before we move on from that tech. I think it's important to to note, it seems like we're digging on Daniel Jones, and he's not without Regina qualities. I had was as one of the fifty best players in this whole draft. He's got the prototypical size. His arm is strong enough. He's. Very smart. There's a lot to like about him. Honestly, my biggest concern is durability because he's been hurt even going back to high school two of the last three or three less four something like that. So that's kind of what concerns me more than anything else. He might not have as much upside as some of the other quarterbacks in this class. But I would make a strong argument that he has a much higher floor than Dwayne Haskins or or July. So or Kyle Murray for that matter. So so Daniel Jones, it's it could be a whole lot worse. It's not like they took a late round pick of the top of the draft. He was going in the first round if they didn't take them then. And you know, what goes back to Gilman's conviction on him? And in weight, you have to admire that that I think anybody who is involved at the draft covers at analyze the prospects. You you have to have that certain degree of confidence in yourself that your right in Gilman, certainly has Daniel Jones only time will tell was right. But but I the gumption and he has staked his legacy, he staked, you know. The the next four. Five years the future of of the giants on that. "Overall, pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL draft. The Steelers select Byron Murphy cornerback from Washington University. Steelers long looked to solidify their secondary to match a pass rush that has been dominant the past you seasons, and by selecting Murphy, they're able to get the best overall cornerback in our opinion in this upcoming draft in the first round. It would be a great bridge for when Joe Hayden is ready to hang it up. This pick is going to have value. Not just in two dozen nineteen Ambien, and that's why. The Steelers have selected Byron Murphy with the twentieth. Pick. Beyond say, Arianna Guerande and Drake are talked about ad nauseam as celebrities. "To Steelers dot com. Theresa Varley of Steelers dot com. And he said it just all it's just the fact that they're they're they're all they're they're they're working in starting towards that. Number one goal. I'm not gonna put a whole ton of stock into this fact that they're there. But I am going to say this the fact that there is such a veteran contingent is the least a good step in the right direction. It tells me that these players have heard what was said they realize what needs to be done and they're taking action towards getting that done. That's impressive for me. That's impressive that the players are doing this. It's impressive that you know, there's coaches they're they're doing this on their own accord. I like that. I like it a lot. It's a good step in the right direction comments that you heard coming from those workouts, whether some Hayward's misused to Rothlisberger himself where all very team focused very team oriented. It wasn't anything crazy. No one was clapping back at into Neo Brown or anything like that. And so for me, I just thought it was awesome. That they're they're it's hope it continues. I have the gelling that they're going through right now it turns of those workouts while holy hopefully, carry it's carryover into training camp or I should say minicamp OTA's training camp. And then eventually the preseason regular season. So it's gonna be really good for a lot of these new players as a lot of people talking about, you know, the fact that you guys like Moncrieff and Mark Barron. They were both there. They're working out. It's giving them a chance to get to know everybody to get comfortable for Moncrieff to catch passes from Rothlisberger for baron to probably pick the brain of a guy like, Vince. Williams, get comfortable. I it's only gonna help. It's not gonna hurt. Absolutely. It's only going to help. So that's that's really the news. It's going on. And I do want to land. I talked to this hopefully, regains connections. It will come back and join us by the end, I do want to answer some of your questions on the show is of the we normally don't do on a standard is a standard at something. I do on my burn question podcast, but the standard is a standard. We typically don't have that. So we wanted to do that tonight. Anyways, if you have questions at the end of the show way into the now for the title of this show, it was sleeper positions for the first round. I wanna clarify what I mean by that sleeper positions. I'm talking about everyone sitting here now, and they're saying inside linebacker cornerback wide receiver safety e you hear hearing a number of positions that are possibilities for the first round in the NFL draft that. Starts his Thursday. I hardly spread around the corner. Exciting types. I guess I thought to myself, let's think outside the box in terms of how we're going to shape the show on in in speak of the devil. He's back. Don't say I'm that guy. No now, but he's back folks lances back. He is here. We've already talked about the schedule we talked about. I've went through on tire bliss man where we're moving along. We're already at the sleeper position stuff. Beyond saying, Arianna 'Grande and Drake are talked about ad nauseam as celebrities. "It's a contrast in personality. It's the closed door versus the open door. It's it's a special five-man major excessive Bill. Right now, he is he you know, whoever wants talked to him. He's he's willing to is calm Gregor was very similar back in the early days. Like, it's just seemed like any publicity is good. Boy, he's to talk to whoever is going to you know, if there was a camera on him. He was going to say something, you know, what I mean, he was he was did you hear Dana to the fight thing out of sonya's on McGregor liked Trajan. His throw that around that often for as much as he goes out. Brian are Brian was saying Danny about this part. We'll be heaping all this praise and all these guys, and I can't wait for that fight. Whenever that's going to be what about Kevin gasoline. What does he go from here? I mean, definitely take a break. I mean, those fights hard fights that can take years out of you. Right. Plus two training camps. Right. Like, right. Back to back in in going into it. He he made it clear like, I'm kind of tired. You know, this is this has been a little rough. It's been a rough road. Duffy take some time off. And look, we know the sport changes a lot see how the division looks around November. You know, maybe it's completely different. But I think he's up there in the top five. I mean, you give them a fighter too depending on who he beats in how he looks. He's right back up there and giving the exciting fight that he put on against assign yet Braun excited to see him against me. Shelby right here. Give them Chris wideman the guy he just lost to the only loss during that run sort of an agent name guy, maybe can be coming off the loss. That's that's great match. I think if if the timeline aligns if Jared Cananea gets passed Anderson Silva that could be good fight as well. There's something interesting. One more second than just celebrate. What would have caught assigning can be? I just had her and told you oughta Sonya proved that he's the next big little start. And he's the real he went into the deep end. And he was the guy that came out, and I wouldn't favor them gun to my head against Whitaker. That shows you how great that fight. Yeah. It's even with all whatever's time off to like, so I think the betting odds are out if you've got to sign up for the first time ever is an underdog. Slide slide, but I would say you guys know how much I love on a sign his game. I think it's next level on the other hand. I think it's appropriate that would occur as the is the betting favourite. So really what what a weekend you have see to thirty six other people like just Emporia getting drowned out four Khalil Roundtree. Of his career. And no one's talking about it not because it wasn't special because the other stuff was historic literally historic. So pretty amazing.
