"He looked like Sergio cordova, which to me doesn't sound good, but to Doyle sounds great. So I of the beholder. Amanda Garcia looked like a goal scoring striker for Minnesota United. No one knows so who apparently sits a good luck message to his teammates ahead of this, but as chosen not to come to preseason and now the start of the regular season, we will see if he ever shows back up from Minnesota. That's a pretty big TV at this point, but vinegar Garcia gets the goal in Minnesota and I didn't go to Dallas and when that is both thrilling for Minnesota United, but also has to be hugely hugely disappointing Doyle for FC Dallas. Yeah, FC Dallas looked like the bad version of FC Dallas that we saw too often last year where everything is static. And they don't get numbers into the box. They play in a really precise way. And when they can move the pieces on the chessboard and the way they want, they're really, really tough to beat. But there are times when they open up gaps, and they're just not instinctive about exploiting them. That's number one. Number two is the only guy who's ever sort of attacking that space in behind the back line. Is Paul areola. The last guy doesn't do it. His or Ferreira doesn't do it. It can make them, it can make it very comfortable to play against them. And I don't think they ever made a Minnesota side that's influx that's working in a new center back that just cut the guy who was supposed to be their starting right back. Like the day of the game, like they never made this team uncomfortable. And that's not totally out of the realm of what should be expected of FC Dallas. And I do wonder if Nico estevez is going to figure out going to have to figure out a way to spice it up. Is Jesus him and as a guy that can change any of that? I don't think so.

"You know who might not be running it back though? Minnesota United, there's a statement that they put out a minute of reynoso has been suspended without pay by Major League Soccer for failure to report to pre season training. We have no additional information beyond that at this time. They've been freaking out. In Minnesota, and rightfully so, where are we at with this Doyle? It appears we're at nowhere with it, which is shocking to me because well, last week, I think it was last Monday's show. I came out and I said, what I expect to happen is that, you know, he'll say, it was a Thursday. I said, I think he'll report with ten days left. And he'll play 30 minutes the first week and 35 the second week and the third week he'll play 65 minutes and everybody will be grumbling, then we'll have the international break and come back and it'll be a 90 minute player and everybody by May will have forgotten that this has happened. But I nosed around a little bit, talked to some folks at Minnesota United. They're really not happy with him in Renault has been a handful since day one. He's not an ideal type of leader in terms of what you want to build your team around. Obviously on the field, he has been mostly spectacular, though he had, you know, not as good a year last year as I think we could have asked for. He's been on the field mostly like the type of guy that you would build your team around. Off the field from day one, he has been, you know, he's mercurial. But they've always been able to live with that. They've always been able to say, yeah, that's him, but it's worth it because of what he brings us. There is a level of frustration and disappointment around this player. That has, I have never heard from Minnesota folks before. And again, I'm talking people at the team. This is really tough. It does not look like it's going to work out happily. I suspect still that he will find a way to come back to Minnesota and then that staff will do what they can to smooth things over because the team is literally built around him. But it feels like some bridges are damn near burned at this point.

I think in any of their meetings against Minnesota this year. So that could have been some way contributed to Minnesota's success against them. And he's been in good form, too, he scored a couple goals two weeks ago when Portland clinched the number two spot in there went against rail Salt Lake. It's tough to call. It's tough to call. Timber scored 14 more goals than Minnesota this season, but by the same token only real Salt Lake conceited more goals than the timbers did among playoff teams. I don't know. Maybe it's a three game winning streak. Maybe it's their history of success and knockout tournament play. An unconfident one nil to Portland for me. That's what I'm saying. Pereira with just two assists in September, not good enough. And it's true Darryl DK's been in red hot form. But Nashville has some players in good form as well. So right now, anybody over 12 years old, they will be able to get it. Nb mandated to get it and then as students age into that age range, then they will have to get it as well. And the school board knows they're probably going to face lawsuits are going to face legal challenges. They have throughout the pandemic for a number of different things for their at home, learning that they did, and some of the other measures of testing that they're doing right now, every student in the U. S C. Has to test negative once a week to be able to come to campus. And they have won most of those, if not a majority of of the challenges against the school district. They say they believe the bill probably have to battle legal challenges again, but they feel like this is what they need to do. We want the first families that moved To perth specifically chain migration So my uncle was the very first And brought along and so they over the decades more and more afghans have gathered there But it's still very small community Especially compared to the you know western sydney And dandenong communities in melbourne and sydney on on the east coast which which are way So i think really early on developed to a strong kinda of like insular island mentality where you kind of acutely aware that you are in short supply in a place like And then and then. When i was For high school. Back when i was about twelve thirteen Moved to the states To kind of be closer to My mom's side of the family To yeah in in virginia as much bigger african community Suddenly i was kinda thrown into a very different a setup where like public school. Everyone's have kind of an. It was cool for different reasons. I mean and i definitely prefer it that way in the sense of like finally being around people and not having that like weird outsider Suddenly like you know in a place like this even though it's kind of still we're not like a major city elements just one of those places like that for for whatever reason A lot of immigrants of of from from afghanistan have gathered. you know It's kinda like michigan. Like loads of arabs in michigan list of somalis in minnesota united. It's like weird and not clear. Exactly why or how it happened. But like it's cool that happened We kind of formed their communities all around. And yeah and then. I came back to australia for a unique when i was eighteen. came back to melbourne so Did you need a couple of more years than building My kind of like artistic practice on a ride early practice. And then i move back to america two years ago You know what. I found interesting. Is i my family. We came here in ninety two so it was my sister and my mom and my youngest sister haven't been born yet so i grew up in melbourne a muslim school. But i always wondered if i had grown up around like other somalis because there weren't that many of us in melbourne at that time in the early nineties i was wondering we had been raised in london or in the us in minnesota. As you said up to the somalis minnesota. I was wondering what my life had been better. And so i ask that question to you because you sort of did touch on that With things a lot easier when you found other afghanistan. I mean it's complicated but i think in some degree in some ways for sure like just having that Legibility you know where it's like. My cousins dislike are everywhere but like at the same time the flip side of that is that you know it means that you know. My uncle's taxi drivers pretty much. Said like suddenly like level of surveillance right. Like if you're out walking around with friends during the mole suddenly like this auntie or that hunting sawyer Travels around like you know the grapevine how it is so so there better be people you get before you even reach your mom's got a few calls you like what the hell iowa and i'm walking around see you i swear to god as you need to make use of the on in let me god i pray that they denver figure that out because if they do they'll be too powerful powerful and its sell us out quick no shade. But i don't want to go there so So as we've said you've moved quite a bit and it sounds like you know there are pros and cons to being around community. Has this made you think differently about what community means. What belonging means other questions that you think about For sure fisher. I feel like so much of the dilemma of of course being third culture kid rise. You're constantly striving or Like trying to find that like alternate place of belonging or that like ritual practice or group of people you can finally breathe easy with but unfortunately like the hajr is about it is the there's no resolution there's ultimate final place final resting bites. You know where where everyone around you will will fully understand those parts of you feel that when i was in australia. I always felt like really weirded out that like people didn't quiet Like all this time.
