I think he hit like nine home runs off the career. I couldn't get a guy out. No kidding. I told him. I said, You know what? No, I love you. But there's a base open. I'm gonna hit you. Pandemic playoffs: Brewers, Astros in despite losing records

"When you woke up on Sunday morning none of the eight matchups were said I. think that's kind of cool that would be like the the final day of the regular season Lebron Yeah I don't even know who we're playing. That's what it was for every single team yesterday in Major League Baseball your dodgers are going to play the brewers who got in yesterday with the first losing record granted at sixty. Games with the first losing record for a team in the history of the Major League Baseball Playoffs there were twenty nine and thirty one opening round best of three all in the same ballpark what are your thoughts and we couldn't lose I mean you know it. Likely not, but we could because his only three games all they got to do is win two of them, right? So baseball is so weird dodgers obviously you mentioned we got him at home dodger stadium. I don't think that you know I'm sure we're going to roll out Walker Bueller in Kershaw and we're going to do what we need to do to get to the next round But you could lose you know teams could lose you know the beginning of the year, the dodgers and the Yankees were pretty much the favorites to to get to the thing. In the end, but then the pandemic happened then we had to do all of the rescheduling and figure out how many games that went on for so long how many games should they play the only WanNa play this amount, the players, WanNa, play that amount it became a money issue, and now we finally have gotten to the point where October will be playoff baseball. Speaking out, let's go through a couple of interesting storylines after this round by the way, then everything is going to be played at trial sites and eventually the world series will be played at the home of the Texas Rangers and they'll wrap that no. Later than October twenty eighth, they want to avoid the second third. So homefield everybody early, and then we're going to neutral sites, Los Angeles San Diego. Texas and Houston quick thoughts the Yankees of the five seat in the AL, the five seat, the rays of the one-seat. What does the same thing with the dodgers? Right? The Yankees could they take care of business they moved their events they don't they go home whether they a one C or DHCP. It's everybody's even really to be honest with you. Everybody's even Garrett Cole. Start, for the Yankees Chain Bieber for the Indians in for all the money they paid Garrett Cole Shane Beavers had a better year he has in when you look at it, there are no fans in the stands. So there's no home field advantage for anybody you know what's great about not having fans the Houston Astros. Left right. Everywhere they go. They are the sick see the astros have made it in baseball's big off season, they should just get blinked. Every time people bring up the Astros are frown just cheated just blatant just cheat to win. They're taking on the Minnesota twins keys, dodgers will take on the brewers the padres in the playoffs for the first time in fourteen years will take on the Saint Louis Cardinals and the much maligned and I know it's a sixty game season. How about the Miami Marlins under? Derek. Jeter, for everything that they have gone through there and they'll get the Chicago cubs. Yeah. They they. They deserve to being I'm happy for I'm happy for Jeeter because when he? Blew everything up and traded. Call Stan and everybody was like Oh they just care about the money. They're completely trash in the organization, and now they're in the playoffs and they take on. Chicago like you said, one

Chicago White Sox clinch winning season, plus current playoff field

"Turn your head because I certainly did over the past couple of days maybe I got washed up at a bit of college football, the NFL return and but I didn't realize the Chicago White Sox. We're now in first place in the American league central after going eight and two in their last ten games they are. Let's see a game up on the Minnesota twins who have figured things out and are now in second place in that. Leaves the Cleveland Indians losers of six straight all the way down to third place at twenty and twenty one and four and a half games out. So so the Indians have gone from first place in the division arguably the team to beat in the American League two. Now, a wildcard team outside of the top two in the division and four and a half games out just that quickly I mean, don't you know six in a row and when the white sox are winning four that's at least. Four Games in the last four days and with a deficit of four and a half, it's gone from a half a game to four and a half year. By the time Friday rolled around you have the Detroit Tigers at twenty and twenty six, and then the Kansas City royals at twenty and twenty eight. Neither of them are atrocious baseball teams, which honestly is a bit better than I had anticipated for both of them but neither of them are going to be infecting the playoff picture with their presence. Where do we go here? The Chicago White SOx thirty and sixteen winners of four, straight eight and two in their last ten they swept the Tigers this past weekend. Let's take a look at their scheduled down the stretch here. See who they have coming up. They have four with the Minnesota twins who I just spoke about being a game back. So this'll be a fantastic series between the white. SOX and the twins it'll be in Minnesota Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday some fantastic pitching matchups in those. Then they travel to Cincinnati to Cleveland and retell her for return home ver-. CHICAGO. So the white sox tough schedule down the stretch with clubs over five hundred and then the reds mixed in there. So we'll see if they can continue to play quality baseball they continue to be led by Jose Abreu. He's crushing the Baseball fifteen home runs. Forty eight RB is Tim Anderson is currently your Major League leader. In batting average, he'd be your batting champion at three, sixty two. If he qualifies in Thirty six games, one, hundred, fifty, two are bats I think he has just qualified fine when it comes to that statistic on the pitching side of things Lucas g Alito. Continues to pitch well, Dallas Kaikal not a lot of people talking about it but six in two two, one, nine era talk about a successful year Then you got mad foster coming out of the bullpen with a one three, one era so Chicago a well rounded team they were my surprise bic in the American league at least they got the memo because. My Cincinnati reds on the other side will get to them but they still haven't figured things out sell but hey, one or two in regards to surprise picks. So the summer I'll take that absolutely. Did I think they'd be a first place team I didn't think the white sox will be a first place team but I certainly thought they were good enough to. Make the wild card and make the playoffs. Now we're talking standard one, sixty, two, five teams but yeah, certainly a pleasant surprise on the south side of the windy city.

"minnesota twins" Discussed on ESPN Chicago 1000 - WMVP

"Ponies will give us a Derby. Picking a preview coming up here in just about 10 minutes. Gesture. Rogers at 11 30 Cubs rap in Pittsburgh today going for the sweep. The White Sox leave Minnesota with just one win in three games. Jeff and both of us are White Sox fans, and it's kind of the same old. Same old people are surprised at the White Sox struggle, even though they're good now against the Minnesota Twins. I said yesterday that Jose Berrios has always kind of been a thorn in their side. He wasn't great. Yesterday has been great this year, but did enough to get another win his 12th career victory against the White Sox. Did you know since 2010 The White Sox have exactly two seasons in which they won the season. Siri's against the Twins. They could still do that the two and four against him this year and I think there's four games left against Minnesota. I'm going back to 2010. You got almost what 11 seasons worth of data now of games. The White Sox are 85 1 await versus the twins. That's a 4 40 winning percentage against the division. Rival just hasn't been good kind of the same old, same old. Not great. No, I would say that and I would imagine to the 2000 probably weren't very kind to the two white sacks when they're playing the 20 of those numbers, But like I do remember Those twins teams when I call them the Parana Parana apparently were, you know, a thorn in the side of the white sacks. So yeah, this goes back. It feels like now, Two decades sucks where the twins have owned the white sacks. For the most part. You know what, though? I came to the right I'm coming more and more to the realization that what baseball has done, they've broken their sport in terms of pennant races. Like we're talking about the play offs like I should be a little more upset with the Twins, taking two of three fromthe white sacks when the White Sox could have walked away, you know, atop the division. And yet I'm well, they're going to the playoffs. Like we said yes, and there is no huge incentive to winning the division. Especially this year something, but here's the thing. Do you really think they're going back? Next year? They're going to have added television revenue over their playoff sport. I would think so. So do you. What do you think they will her uncle, But I think they'll all think they'll keep it the same. There's too much lost revenue this year for them to reverse course next year. You know what I mean? They're going to try to make up Generally, once you have cash in hand, you don't want to go back to not having you know, I think you're right. So because of that September baseball like set aside the fact that it doesn't matter. Had they played 162 game season this year. It would still probably be similar because I don't care about That 7th 8th 9th teams that are racing for those final playoff stats because they're substandard teams anyway, they're not the teams that you really are going to get excited about. If you're a fan of those teams fine, but In September against the Twins. Both teams, you know, fighting it out for the division along with the Indians, and the reality is that I just you've broken September baseball the pennant race. It's kind of meaningless. With some with it with 16 playoff teams. Yeah, it's not gonna have I mean, and I'm not gonna have much punch going forward. It didn't really dawn on me until I was you know, until you're watching him, and I'm like thinking myself. I'm not as invested as I used to be, and it's because you've adopted the NHL and the MBA format. And so now you've minimize the importance of your regular season and you know, I'm sorry, but for me as a fan, I'm super psyched about the Red Sox. But now it's all setting up. You know, as we sit here on September 3rd third as we sit here on September, 3rd My focus is intent on a three game serious that I need the White Sox to win two out of it's true. It's a good point. I mean, in a normal year with fewer playoff teams, and it's you know, the season is winding down now. On September 2nd last night, a much more upset that, Yeah, there's no doubt about it. I'm much more upset with start. I'm much more upset with the errors are much more upset with the magical, much more upset that You know, the Lopez just can't figure it out like I'm much more upset about all of that, Under normal circumstances, That's that's true. This was rent saree after the game, talking about the ugliness in Minnesota the last couple nights and how they need to put it behind them. This was not a pretty box. There's no way to make a profit centers are making excuses for all fly ball way run down that actually started condition incorrectly and then part There's no way to justify it just was a bad night. You know, thinking some field just know that's not a baseball player. That's not the way we go about it by also know that let's put this all behind us because we have very little little time left and we have to play. Continue to play baseball. We have previews to this game. So find your stride again. He got four against the Royals. Get it going, You know you've got Pittsburgh coming up. So feast on the teams that you can. I'd like to see him play a little bit better against the Twins will get one more crack at them in the regular season before it's over. I don't like Reynaldo Lopez is a starter. I never really have. I mean, he's had little glimpses here and there and a couple good starts last September, But now 77 career starts already with white socks. If you can believe that, it's 77 career starts to get a good sample. Career IRA on the south side of 4 73 in the area plus of 93, meaning he is 7% worse than an average major league starter. And I just don't think it's in the cards for him to be a long term, viable starter for this team. He can't get out. I mean, he's gotten out of the fifth there. He's gone into the sixth. Going back to last year. Twice in his last 10 starts, he dies. He has good stuff. When he could harness it. But the reality is that he's so inconsistent. And what you really need from a starting pitcher is a guy who you can trust the majority the time go out there and get you through the the order, at least twice, you know, And maybe you know if he's got things going, Fabio, but you know, but Ronaldo Lopez at this point, you know, I told you I think he's a reliever. And I'm not even sure about that. Right. But I don't know how you can continue to try him out there. You know, at this point where we're at this year, you know, I don't know if you have any other great options Gotta roll into dunning, don't you? Well, Yeah, I would. Yes. I mean, isn't that it doesn't make too much sense, right? A man who knows if Rodin's coming back, right? That's what I was trying to think about is like like he's still even with Dunning has a spot in the rotation right now, down to the injured list sold through on even geo. Somebody who you don't want really tempting, You know the order of third time through like and a lot of ways. Ronaldo Lopez with a piggyback of Geo Gonzalez works, you know for a team that's trying to Win some games because you can kind of when Renaldo Lopez could get through the order once or twice every fifth start like you can kind of piece that together. Yeah, but for now, for this season with the injuries that have I feel like Lopez is kind of set to be there, But I I'm already I'm already locking in danger. He's a part of the rotation. You're still trying to find 1/5. Now I guess that's without you know, without kopeck this year, you know, and I can't trust Carlos. We're don going forward. Luckily, they'll get in the playoffs and you won't need 1/5. Yeah, well, that's the whole just get there. They're going to get there. 3123323776. If you want to talk baseball, we gotta react to the MBA games Last night, The refs interjected themselves, injected them interjected themselves right way too much in both of those games last night. Especially the end of the Milwaukee game, and I was crazy. How about Jimmy pockets in the heat now up to Oh, though, on the box first time ever, I believe Under this playoff format. This is about 36 years old now in the MBA, that the top two seeds in one conference are both in an 02 hole. The Raptor season is kind of on the line tonight. Yeah, they play Game three. Against Boston. There down o to the rafters are now the Bucks. Every other species there are two things that they're not sure world has for us. One is danger. One is utility because the natural world can be dangerous and it can kill you. You can have thousands of people killed by snakes in India every year still or not show world can be a great advantage. It can provide you food and shelter and various other things. And all species are aware even if instinctively of these things but we have a third thing, which is that we can actually love the natural world.

"We're just getting word from ST Louis. At the ST Louis Cardinals are They have 13 members of the organization that tested positive for the Corona virus. Seven players, six staff members. They will remain quarantined in Milwaukee. While they continue to get daily tests, the league is cancelled the cardinal Siri's against the Detroit Tigers. But plans for the Cardinals to resume playing Friday. Against the Chicago Cubs is still on really? Hey, Alex. How many people are on a major use? It isn't 30 this year. This year. Yeah. So that's more than usual. I wonder. Did they do that? Because They they felt like they needed to have extras. I like standbys because some of these guys are going to get if seven of the players and six of the staff have the virus. How many more Habit is well, I mean, do they I don't know. It's just It's just they're going on. I'm trying to break that crutch. I have to assume that they kind of passed it among each other. So They announced on Friday, the two players on the team tested positive. And they said that the positives came from test taken on Wednesday morning. So you got it turned around 48 hours. But they played the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday. And they checked and there are no Minnesota twins that have tested positive. I'm very nervous about this whole Experiment. They're trying. They're trying. I gotta give him credit for trying. But they man they're just one team after another. The Yankees are seven wins. One loss there. Aren't there absolutely mowing? Down the competition, so I want to see this season. Be completed. I'm worried that I don't think it will be. The Miami Marlins have not played since July 24th half the team tested positive. Even though they initially tested positive. The team still took the field that day to play the Philadelphia Phillies. And so they're getting back to where the Phillies are now going to start playing again. I think it's tonight. So so far Major League baseball Is, as he's determined Tio make this season continues so Anyway. Little Corona virus news Coming from way We're all looking for some kind of connection to The reality is something that we're used to. And this is what we kind of like Something that you know a baseball game. I don't even know you that big of a baseball fan, but you know what? It's nice to watch. Does it kind of reminds you if you don't look at the fake people in the stands. Put some of this. Some of some of the places have cardboard cut outs of people behind home plate. That's it. So meantime. Don't go over approval ratings. Um I'm looking at that Congress by the way, Congress has been working on this bailout package, right? And they've been trying to figure out how to come up with something, and apparently, they're all on board. About a $1200 check. Uh, per person. Depends upon your income. Man depends if your violin taxes and things like that. So The Thames and the Repubs are both on board. With that The difference is they are split, supposedly on the Democrats want the continuation. Of the $600 per week unemployment extra. You get your state unemployment, and the feds will send you $600 on top of that per week, and they want to extend that into somewhere in early 2021. So that's AH, August September October November December 5, maybe six months. I like it. I don't have the exact day. And the Republicans apparently have said no, no, no, no, Wait. We don't want To make it an advantage for people not to work. And they are hearing nobody has given me the numbers. I haven't seen the numbers. On how many people Are not working because they're getting $600 on top of the state unemployment and that's Mohr than they would get if they went back to work. And so that's what the Republicans are concerned about. But the other issue behind this if you come up with a bunch of people who are getting $600 per week, and they haven't gone backto work, Maybe it's because Where they work is not open. Maybe where they work has gone out of business. For example. I've told you this before. The number of people that work in restaurants. Far exceeds this is probably it wasn't Southwest Airlines CEO. I think so, Anyway was the people that work for airlines and the auto industry? That's a lot of people. You take those two combined, They do not add up to the number of people in the restaurant business. And so the restaurant business by far seems to be the hardest hit. So if they're on unemployment And they're getting $600 more per week and they work in the restaurant business. I'm going to take a wild guess that they are still The business where they work is not open and since they work off of tips, it's awfully hard to determine whether or not they're making more than they did when they were working. I can't doubt it. Presley at, um You know, white tablecloth restaurants that sort of place. But that is that is what the beef is about. Is 200 versus 600 I thought when I heard that last week, I see what they're doing. They're going to settle it for you. Okay. Split the difference. Settling for okay. Everybody happy find signed the deal. So the president is Going to be coming out. Theoretically at the top of the next hour. Usually it's like 2030 minutes later. Congress has gone home for the day. They have not been able to come to an agreement on what kind of bail out they want to do so. Everybody went home. So they're not working on it. The president still working I'm not sure. I'm afraid that the members of Congress by the way. They have Where'd I get this from the dispatch today? About ratings. Dan. Congress's ratings are so bad Where aware did I put it? But really, they're not liked by anybody. So What are they? Well, this is why there's something that's important. They need to come to some sort of agreement on it, but they cannot. So they went home, so it's becoming abundantly clear. Here. It is fewer than one in five Approve of Congress..

"Already given us a lot of your time which I really appreciate your ten years into your career. Now do you still love working in sports and if so why what is it? What is special about working in sports? How much time do we have left as long as you want? Because I can go on and on about this Absolutely still love working in sports ultimately to me and this is something I when I tried to lure people to this environment I say I I truly believe I have not worked a single day outside college and even coming in here when it was negative. Ten degrees this morning. I can honestly walk in with a smile on my face. One of the things. I think that motivates me as a coach as a leader as a trainer is when I started out. I didn't have anybody that truly train me or show me the right direction. I unfortunately had to learn a lot on my own and I don't want any of our reps that ever ever have to go through that so I want to ensure that they are provided the right inside the right tools to make them better as narrowly sales people but as professionals add individuals and try to get the most growth out of them. So that's really. What motivates me and and how I get appreciation of it. I can see somebody from when I can not every single person on on our team. I had the differences at the different person. They are today when I started a year ago and that they're really quick to smile on my face and there's even a bad day at work you didn't take a look out in the field and you realize that it's really not that bad of a day. I Love Your Lincoln photo. It's like it's you a stadium with a huge smile on your face on a sunny day and I'm like this is it. This is sports right. This is this is what we do it for. It's like the environment is just different than anything else. And there's something to really love about that. Brian thank you so much. "Entire team hit their goal and I miss my goal very very badly. 'cause I focus too much time managing your too. I focused more. Thailand selling ended up hitting my revenue generation goals. But my team in the end missed our goals and the regular season so it wasn't until like year four five Dot Kinda. Put it all together and understood from a time management standpoint the right balance that you have to have yeah. That's really interesting. Because that is a tough thing I mean you are you're evaluating staff your motivating staff. You're setting their gold. You're holding them accountable next thing you know it's like all the Times gone as you've got to that point though as you got that four year in what did you learn where the essential qualities and skills you know yourself. You knew what made you tick. You knew how to motivate yourself. But what did you learn about other people and getting them in line and getting them thriving in their revenue generating roles are there any special patterns noticed. These attributes tend to work really well for people in sales roles. Yeah Absolutely I. You know one of the first thing that I would try to find. Out What motivates people and you get a wide array of answers ultimately one of them has to be self motivation. There's only so much I I don't WanNa be in an environment where I have to look over your shoulder or anyone who look over my shoulder in order to do the job right there has to be some trust factor there that stems from self-motivation You'RE NOT GONNA have people next to you dialing the phone where you actually have to do it yourself The three main things I. I've noticed with with reps the successful ruptured I look for one is passion and when I say passion. I do not mean a passion for sports. This is one of the things that they're really gets me. Going is is every person who wants to work at sports. They always talk about passing. They are sports. That actually doesn't matter to us. We have people actually in our organization. That aren't really fans of baseball. They knew they want a new sales and they like doing it. So they sell the team and then the product they have to give but ultimately you have to have a passion for sale itself you know you have to enjoy the creating relationships the thrill of closing sale throw throw the chase and be able to live with the with the ups and downs and the constant knows that you're going to receive that's ultimately what I look for Secondarily would be Kinda coach ability and understanding that. You don't have all the answers. I know I don't have all the answers. I'm constantly looking for advice from my superiors and our leadership team to pass onto the next generation of sellers but being understanding of. Try this out. Try this out figure out what works best for you know that you don't have all the answers and that we're there to guide you and help you. I'm not trying to create seven other means on my team. Everybody has cell differently but if we notice something that doesn't work or hasn't worked in the past. Try to steer you away from trying to steer you in the right direction and then finally ultimately in any sales role. You need to have assistance right. And I really GONNA say not everybody's GonNa say on the first call either and so how you follow ups are and and being able to take a no answer and still work with individuals throughout Lionel. And how we can turn that into a. Yes. I think that if you're persistent and you drive in that manner then you're GonNa have a lot of success. I love those terms. I love the way you phrased that and I really think. Coach ability is such an under. We don't talk about it enough like when I was managing more staff like having someone who wanted to learn open to learning new. They didn't know everything he just loved. You love interacting with that person because you knew that they just wanted to improve and I love that. I love that you highlighted that so I have to ask. I've had a lot of friends of worked in baseball. I have a lot of friends that have jumped in and out in from difference boards and had a little time in baseball. How much more difficult is it with such a long season a large stadium? Many many home games is that a daunting challenge. Or is that something because it sounds to me like you're a pretty competitive person? You'd like to take these things on you like that challenge is that is that true or is it a daunting thing or is an exciting thing. Didn't quite friendly helps when your team wins. One hundred one games on the list of history that that doesn't hurt Having fun during the season either. I'm so I can't speak to. What a losing season at this level is life but in my curls opposing passers. I actually find it a lot. Easier being able to focus solely on the management side of things rather than the actual selling now. There are certainly days where I missed getting on the phone and I actually missed closing a sale but I get that enthusiasm and appreciation through my raps when when they bring in revenue on there and Luckily you know. The twins are huge. Advocates of a work life balance That's one of the things that will stress upon me when I got here and I saw firsthand so including day and I I would say I probably worked about thirty full games last year. Which is in drastically more than the twenty. I was working with the sky every year so it and we make sure that people aren't working extended hours that they're not really over during themselves. You know you get the rap in their first year. They want to stay in walk every game. And it's like you need to go home right. You don't WanNA burnt out by the end of the year because there's a long season it's a marathon not a sprint. I have a twelve year old daughter. Who's a huge? Wnba fan? Love the game but she is an indoor baseball at all. I have a son who's into baseball not into football. I have another son. Who's a football but not into this? Like the reason I bring that up is not just talk about my kids. But how important is it in sales roles to really know and understand your target market and go in the spots where you're most likely to be able to to close and find that audience because you and I were just at the national sports form and we met there and it was awesome meeting you and one of the things? I was so impressed. Learning Naughty sessions was just how well sales people can target and understand their audience. How important is that vastly important? In any organization that had been around for a while that actually survived and his thriving. There you have a good handle on their target market rate so when I started with the Chicago Sky the last people are gonna I was GonNa call you girls basketball teams because that are even covered and so it's all about finding your niche in the market but obviously understand your target market but then the market also touching on the markets that you might not necessarily think are for urination or they might not come to mind at the start and the basic one is is businesses if you can be successful selling businesses and board the you can go anywhere you want essentially but you have to focus on businesses and people focused on talking to the fan but most of the fans are going anyway and so in in sales revenue generation role. It's more about the people that are on the fence and who you can actually get join the team that won already buying. You've worked for multiple new organizations now in your career. How important is culture to a thriving were placed end and as a manager now and somebody? Who is steering a staff through the company experience? How what role do you play in trying to establish a strong culture think vastly important? You know I wasn't able to truly answerless two and a half years ago. I'd say that we didn't have the best culture in the organization that was working for we brought in a couple of new people that really transition the organization and showed me what it meant to to treat their employees properly and ultimately my biggest takeaway from one of my previous employer. Was that you know. People don't quit. Jobs people quit people and it starts from the top down.

I do believe when it's all said and done, he's going to be a whole fame pitcher, but I know CC's will respect it. I know CC is a leader on this Yankee team. I know the players on the team actually love them and a manager. Absolutely loves him. How could you not the cannot start about? The playoff game this year. They've done at the last two years. Two years ago worked out great against Cleveland. He had one gem against the Astros. A poor performance of game seven last year. He could make it out of what the third of fourth inning. The Boston Red Sox in game for the stuffer. CC sobat. The is not good enough to be starting a playoff game. Could you sell me on C come out of the bullpen having a moment? Yeah. Sure. Black. I invasion, the Yankees playing teams like the Astros and Red Sox. And the Minnesota Twins stuff is not gonna play but said to mount Holly, New Jersey, our buddy CJ up next on a foul CJ. JJ because of making a rare quarrel at this hour. That's what I'm talking about CJ. You hear my voice you prompted to pick up the phone. That's the thing of beauty. I love it. You know, things go sped. I'm like, some other course as you probably know I like to play the long game that think this matches what you do for this season I look at the OPEL situation for the future of the Yankees, I doubt which is going to be a hot topic. You t h maybe a quarter of spot, which you might be good at really fast. I can see the possibility for him next year. I think it's outrageous. You look at Edwin Encarnacion guys, probably playing the remainder of this year, and he's going to go somewhere else. Like I don't look at Cornell Cioni supported a long term future, and I'm going to be honest with you. C J, two more and more. I think about Clint Frazier and the way he has handled himself. He just does not strike me as a guy, the Yankees are going to believe in Wong term now, the AKIs aren't going to give away, confessor fresher. They're gonna make sure they get something useful in retire. For a guy who can rake the way that he can rake. But yeah, I get the sense he's going to be expendable. I get the sense. He'll be on the move and the Yankees will have to try to figure out what do role on this team is going to be, but CJ that's bridge you cross next year for the time being you thinking about this team. That's one of the three or four best teams in major league baseball on how to try to win a World Series. I know with the one game obviously, you have to talk about the only way look at this valid something shop. Play the world gay dot com ball RJ back to hear about the straightening MBA cow with step, because this gets rid of any more that by drastic, it's object barracks. More gratin. That can't. Wait, listen. It's an app soon. No Brennan for the next CJ. I don't wanna hear about Culver. I don't wanna hear about Goral and here's the bottom line. This is a three player draft. You've heard about Diane, you've heard about Mirant. You've heard about RJ Barrett. You got to get one of those guys don't take cute. Don't reinvent the wheel get the best player on the board and bear it. Hands down three. Assuming Moran is going to go to which he's going to go to I think we all know that because they traded away Mike Conley. Now they're getting their point guard at a future goal. Gated guy could be the point forward. He could score. He can rebound the basketball he can play defense. He could do it all RJ, Barrett's got a very, very high upside in this league. That's guy. Go get. With the war, even going to next couple of years with it could probably pretty hard. One thing very simple. That. Player available kid before any place, taking the pick be dressed in a row, I would agree. And, you know, CJ think about how the Knicks doing business though, and look, we want to see how this off season is going to play out, but you saw report that Houston, call the New York Knicks about Chris Paul. And a next basically said, thanks, but no, thanks. That's what they should be doing a guy like Chris Paul. That would be the soda move. The Knicks have made in years past that has gotten him into a world of trouble. I mean that Paul contract to say is an albatross is being kind that is a hideous hideous contract. So you have the chance to draft. Well, do it. You have a chance to go. Get Kevin Durant do it. I don't care about the achilles still would bring him in I'd still be willing to take that risk and built a team that way. What's it out to Iceland marks joins us? He's on a foul. What's up Mark JJ? Always pleasure to listen to you. To you so much going on with the Yankees. Things that concern me little. Got to catch lightning in a bottle when you have it. He had issue go with a mission as much as you can on Tanaka find a way to die is much responsible control like that on five days rest. To keep them, you're right about that. Here's the problem, though. You can do it as much as he can. You know, like I noticed that their off days mixed in when you can try to tweak the schedule. But I'll give you an example the Yankees now pointing this entire week went off day. They played these three against Tampa. You point four against the Astros. Like you can't give to knock an extra day rice against the Astros, because the schedule doesn't allow for, you know, I agree. Now you can change the most. Okay. They lose a million half. Now, did they really? Title based that they made a place for Tikal because. Okay. Washy still frontline pitcher and pitching each. Okay. That he was come to Yankees, lose into the fray, a million and a half. They don't so World Series. Thank you. Check in saying with the fun warming teaching the Yankee have right now. That is not a championship from storing motivation. It's not okay. He thinks that it is compared to Houston. And I'm not saying Minnesota because Minnesota, you know made a point of before they don't have that great respondent. But I have to get somebody that's been a make them comparable to Houston with that. But more care where. But here's how I would disagree though. What your assessment I don't look at Dallas. Geico's one of those guys and I get the sense, the Yankees, never really wanted Dallas cackle that they were interested. But we're interested to appoint remember they could've found him in the off season. They didn't do it. They could sign them in early. June. Didn't do it now goes to Atlanta and pitches. Great is going to be glued for Brian Cashman, and Steinbrenner is absolutely not. But I think the Yankees have their eyes on somebody else. And I don't know who that would be if it were me run a team. It's an easy call it would be Masimov on I wouldn't take twice big game. Ability will be revitalized by being a winning situation once again, and Bumgarner strikes down people. He misses bats. He's got a good whip this year. I'd be on Bumgarner I hear a lot about Marcus Stroman lukewarm to that idea. Mainly did it affect it. Stroman doesn't miss a whole lot of bat sees a gamer and he's going to be intimidated pitching in his hometown in New York. He's a Long Island kid, but I'd prefer Bumgarner over Stroman, and the guy I don't want the Yankees going anywhere near is Trevor Bauer and I get it. He's got really good stuff. He pitched well in the postseason that guy's personality in New York to me has recipe for disaster written all over it. So I wouldn't be thrilled about the idea getting Ballard. But the Yankees and not getting Dallas guy. What does it tell you? They're going gonna get somebody else. I hope I have this, right. I want to say Shaya it might be Shia, but I wanna say Shire in queens. Do I have it right shy? Of course, you got to right about that shy. I feel like I am now you know, moving up in the world because I am not butchering one of my ten thousand names that I butcher. So I'm glad I got your name, right? Appreciate that. You call it. What's going on? First of all, it's really good to hear you during the waking hours, so that I can actually listen to you. Nice to have that once in a while. But that. I totally agree with you. That Madison Bumgarner sounds like the right choice. And I think when Fraser does not belong in New York City, he is. I, I don't think he got out for New York City. I think that he is being hit the attitude with, with the media. Here is just a bad recipe. I think he goes to smaller Varga team or just team. That's not New Yorker, probably Los Angeles. And he's, he'll probably be fine. But he's here. Now, I think I think we got rid of him. And I think he's, he's the centerpiece of any trade. You mate? I would argue that as well. I think Quinn Frazier is a very talented kid. He showed you basically shy in one a month month and a half with the Yankees, not having Aaron judge with not having Giancarlo Stanton, the he could rake the big league level, but is maturity a question for cooling Frazier, it absolutely is. The way you handle the media. The defiance. He's on following the team and he's following players on Instagram. What sell put that the day you getting sent down in a minor leagues. Showing up late this grant. I know necessarily have to be there. But again, that's not a good look, look couldn't Frazier's expendable for them. Because they are loaded long-term in the outfield. They're wounded Stanton's under contract takes his under contract. Judge is going to be on the contract. So yes, I know all three of those guys have injury concerns. That's fair. But they're going to be everyday players, if they're out there they're going to play every day, you need a big pitcher, he will get you a big picture question is, who is it going to be? We got a whole lot more to do. We're going to dive into the NBA draft. And I know some people are going to try to reinvent the wheel. There's no need to reinvent the wheel if your mills Perry in Nick sitting there at three so we got a whole lot more than that. We got Greg and singer from the MLB network. He's a character. Can ask him about what pitches? The Yankee should target the Mets right now down to two one against the Atlanta Braves..

"For you. If DSL dot com. Bleacher tweets. Oh, right. Bluster three very good Bleacher tweets day. I one from PK Steinberg. Of course at PK Steinberg. Okay, which team so far this season has most defied expectations Rena bananas, Minnesota Twins or Troy far Casses, Texas Rangers. I gotta tell you, you know, I thought it said that this is a great question. And you know coming into the year I thought there was a chance that Minnesota woods catch up the Indians. Like I thought the names win this division eventually. But I thought the twins had a chance I had no thought that the Texas Rangers would be a team that would be over five hundred because it seemed like this year was going to be all about rebuilding. So you know what I'm more surprised by the Rangers? What about you? The Rangers have had a great year and I don't want to take anything away from that. I just remember as I've said before, on the show back in February and March it was a foregone conclusion that the Indian. Yeah, we're going to run away with the central and it's been as much about the Indians failures as it has about the twin success. But to see where the twins are say, that's probably a little bit more surprising to me taking nothing away from what the Rangers have done. Jason Emeco at Jason Emeka wants to know where do you think Will Smith will go at the deadline? Now the cubs got Kimbrell. I think the dodgers Phillies Red Sox brewers ironically enough, because he came from there and twins could all use him. But Jason says Boston makes the most sense to him yet. Yeah. The Red Sox have the greatest need Jason. But I think in competitive in a competitive situation where teams are offering a prospects to the giants. The trade form. I don't think the Red Sox are gonna get them because they're at a disadvantage in as we talked about all year in two thousand nineteen the credit card Bill is. Come do Josh knowing all the money spent, and this isn't all criticism, it just all that whole this prospects. Given up for guys like Chris sale. All the money spent the Bill has come due no question about it. But hey, you know if you end up winning a title, it's worth it. So it it's it is what it is finally Matt Spiegel at speaks ten twenty seven says, Austin Riley's emergence has made it very easy to forget all about, and earn CRT. How should the Braves plan to use ender? When he returns from the I L, I off awesome, Riley's gonna keep playing your I think, whatever happens. Oeste Riley is going to continue to play. I think it's the classic line for managers. Oh. He's in the mix. Enter CRT is going to be in the mix on a daily basis that probably using the give kunia day off. They'll give them to give Nick more cake day off Austin Riley will get occasionally day off just Donaldson. We'll get a day off in the move Riley into third base. But also Riley is gonna play. And I think he's gonna play. More than ender is. Yeah. As he should he'd certainly earned the time and you've earned the right to continue to tweet at us using the hash tag, Bleacher tweets. Boy, that was a bad segue bus ride apologize for that. I'm gonna go take a nap now. Yeah. Well, I understand because we know you didn't get any sleep. We know you probably in by quite a bit after that defeat last night. It's your opinion. Yeah. But I, I understand I could hear you. When you got halfway through that you had no idea where the exit ramp was goodbye, everybody. Exactly. Well, that's it for today. Thanks to Jaco too risky to Sarah Lang's to Joel Sherman to Josh. "It is always a pleasure to be with you. It's been a long time since George willin I upset down to talk and many of, you know, terrible event happened in November of twenty sixteen that may have driven a wedge between us and we have to we have to bridge that divide. Because in, in November of two thousand sixteen we all know what happened the cubs beat the Indians in the World Series. And therefore George will I just really can't talk much anymore. Welcome back, Georgia's great tab, you. It's not my fault that this year. The Minnesota Twins woke up the nineteen twenty seven that will not last. The thing the things that will last are the subject of the conservative sensibility, your brand new book, and I've got to say, first of all, it's wonderful. And Secondly, I've done something with the conservative sensibility. I've never done before. I actually bought the book because I wanted to listen to it, Peter Ganim reads, it quite eloquently, and normally people, and you sent me the book, but I wanted to listen to this one, because I sense, it's your magnum opus and having listened to most of it. Now is that what you consider it to be? It is I almost jocularly considered naming my closing argument. But I'm not going anywhere. Victory. Yes, it, it's a some Asian of how I think the conservatives sensibility, which is a way of seeing and experiencing an anticipated events plays across great questions from foreign policy, -education economy, and the problem of equality of opportunity, a range of policy issues. But when I say, sensibility, I mean, more than an attitude, but less than an agenda. It's more about a way of seeing. I'm not trying to tell people what to think, but how to think about the complex social problems and do so in the context of particularly American conservatism as opposed to blood and soil conservatism. I have been listening to this George mostly on the path between old town Alexandria and mount Vernon, but also walking around Alexandria, and George Washington, of course figures heavily at the beginning of this, the Princeton at the battle of Princeton, and throughout the constitutional moment, which begins in seventeen seventy six and concludes in seventeen eighty nine so you have rooted, your, your closing argument in a an argument that began in seventeen seventy six in which continues today, which is to be aware of the frailty of human institutions and of direct majority rule. Precisely that democracy in a free society is not the default setting for humanity. It's a very complicated creation that requires a very rich local soil. The. That what George Washington did was not just found a country but created it created a great presidential office that has. Grown far out of proportion to anything headed find the argument at American politics of the last century, or so has been between James Madison and his constitutional architecture of separation of powers. On the other hand Woodrow Wilson. Who was the first president to criticize the American founding, did not do it. Branch by sending that government is separated. Powers was fine. Once when we were hop related country with eighty percent of people living within twenty miles Tidewater, but now sit Wilson where United continental nation. Held together by copper wires and steel rails, and therefore, we need to government that is unhampered by separation of powers in particular Neto, president can be stride the earth like colossus government moves dispatching efficiency. Well, I think we've tried that, and I don't think people are happy. They are not happy at one of the many elegant phrases in the conservative, sensibility, though, is the one where you say the modern conservative movements attempt to recapture the Madison, Ian dynamic is a is a kin to LASSO a locomotive with a cobweb checking the executive with the constitutional structure has become very difficult. I talk about it almost weekly with Dr Larry Arnn at Hillsdale College, in many other people, you've been meditating on it, and you're not a pessimist, but you're not an optimist either your realist about decline and your realist about the ravages of time. And I wonder if you've added in the factor that technology now has dumbed. Us down. So damn much. I don't know that anyone meditates on these things anymore. I think you're right. What, what are cold social media, and might better be called? Antisocial. Well, they're just made for snarky negatively and for universal disparagement and they give rise overtime over not very much time. Turns out to a cultural contempt in which people feel that they're not exercising critical faculties, if they praise something or someone. It's an alarming decline in our, our civic discourse, and it's going to take an awful on time to unring this bell, and get us back to something, not a culture of reticence, perhaps the culture of restraint and respect. I don't know that we can get back. I'm going to play the full pessimist here. George will and you write about the ruins of Rome, when the decline and fall, the Roman empire was begun. And I am been reading in tandem with the conservative sensibility. Andrew Roberts, life of Napoleon and his education is overwhelming and the education of the framers is overwhelming when compared to the education of the average American today. And I, I go back to Jefferson running Madison in seventeen eighty four because you talk about these guys throughout this book, Jefferson rights to him the proposition for a convention has had the result. I expect if one could be obtained, I do not know whether it would do more harm than good, while, Mr. Patrick, Henry lives, another bad constitution would be. Performed in several forever on us what we have to do, I think, is to devoutly to pray for his death. In the meantime, keep alive. The idea that the president is, but an ordinance and to prepare the minds of the young men. Do you think we're preparing their minds of the young men and women in twenty nineteen for these kind of challenges, certainly not data on this college students study less than they used to write less than they used to read fewer books than they used to and short? We use your phrase dumbed down higher education. You're you say you're being the pessimists at my book is in part and explicitly says as some intelligence pessimism. Not fatalism. Nothing. Seems to me is inevitable. But the fundamental conservative truth, is that nothing lasts. And what you try to do is maneuver against the, the wreckage done by what Lincoln called in his first grade speech silent. Artillery of time. And there's so many ways for this is the basis of pessimism. There's so many ways things to go wrong, and it's so hard to recover. Institutions civil and political of freedom when they have been allowed to decay erode and rot. And for long. If you're looking for a sign of optimism the headlines on this morning, safer will do that is the fact that Republicans in the Senate seemed of found their pulse again. And they're pushing back against the idea that this president or any president should be able to unilaterally imposed taxes on the American people, which is what tariffs are there signs, flickering signs yet, but signs nonetheless, intelligent life in congress, which is saying after forty fifty sixty years of constantly spinning off powers to the -secutive branch and able in the administrative state to become the Frankenstein, it has become perhaps, just perhaps they're recovering the medicine equilibrium of pride in their own branch of government, and their understanding that their branches properly rivalries, with the executive branch not part of a team player. Now I. I am intelligent peasants that you do. Enjoy enjoying people to intelligent pessimism. That is quote more than mere mood. And I and I try to have that I am an optimist, only because the supreme court has added has, has restocked with justices Gorsuch, and cavenaugh and the lower benches with forty one federalist society approved originalist, and that there might be a tendency to restrain the administrative state, which was Woodrow Wilson's terrible legacy upon the United States. And but you're not such an optimist that the counter majoritarian judiciary can actually check this. Where are you now on, on, on your enthusiasm level for whether or not the courts are up to returning to the Madison design? Well, I don't know if they're up to it. But there are last best hope we've seen and partly this was encouraged by careless rhetoric on the part of conservatives conservative set for years, what we wanted judicial deference. No, we want we want to understand that judicial deference, often as dereliction judicial duty to supervise the excesses of democracy. There was a time when they had a doctrine culpa non delegation doctrine. Yes. And they would say to congress, you have no right to spin off powers essentially legislative powers to executive agencies simply because it's convenient for you to do so one mistake does not really his fault. The sainted medicine in the federalist papers, you see in the legislature at all times the legislature, sucking all power into its impetuous for tax. Well, the reverse has been the case for the last century, it has been. Yeah. The legislature spun off powers and this must stop. They do their dicta to attention, but they are not addicted to responsibility. Let me talk about the good news in the conservative sensibility in, that is actually it's focus often very subtle on Lincoln. And I want to quote maybe the best line in the book Lincoln, the most luminous career in the history of American democracy. Memo's morally edifying career in the history of world politics with this. But would you explain why that is? Yes. I'll begin with the phrase you used to go. The counter majoritarian difficulty Lincoln, his ascent to greatness began when he recoiled in eighteen fifty four against the Kansas baske- act, sponsored by a Senator from Illinois. Stephen Douglas, the Kansas Nebraska did essentially say, we're going to solve the problem of what to do about slavery in the territories of not yet states. We're going to solve it with Puckett or sovereignty to of people convoked, slavery up taking vote it down as a matter of Marlon difference. So long as we have majority rule Lincoln said, no Lincoln said America's not about a process majority rule is about a condition, which is liberty. And in that recoil by Lincoln against the Kansas bresca this great career began that less, of course, his life, only eleven more years, but eleven years. And in that I think there is the hope that we can produce out of any crisis, the necessary individual, you write at length that the constitution does not presuppose great men, it, it is the work of an extraordinary generation, but it does not require as the gall said, graveyards are full of indispensable men. It doesn't need a Washington, though. It needed to Washington at the beginning. I am still confident in this constitution. I don't go anywhere. More of George wail coming up right after the break. I've got to tell you about relief factor dot com though as I do three times a day..

"And Abdala. They will be back again tomorrow from nine till noon. We'll follow them tomorrow. Just like doing today. They throw the millennials earlier that bring the old guy in Beijing the old reliever comes on in after the youngsters the young pups. And that's what we'll do for the next two hours. We'll talk baseball. I'll give you a very, very short rant about the NBA. I mean short couple things I gotta say about the NBA on Felix upstairs. He says you can't say those things on the air I said the right field. Yes. Was. I. I told you that if we were to do anything, and you wanted to go on your rack. Yeah. I would have to do an after dark podcast. Yeah. Yeah, it'll probably would that be able to be done with this company because they would not allow that either. So I'll get into a little NBA stuff a little bit later on yesterday. I went out it was unbelievable. My forehead is sunburn because I was sitting at the Heineken beer garden at seatgeek stadium before the Chicago fire played New York City f c and I had a beverage and I had a brat and people that follow me on Facebook or Twitter. You saw it was one long brat, and it was very good at one big can of Heineken that was really good? So we'll talk a little bit about that. And also the game before out of here at twelve noon, but lots of baseball to get into as always. We will talk a lot of major league baseball around the league the eleven o'clock hour here. The ten o'clock hour, your calls are welcome. Three one two, three, three two three seven seven six, and you can get to me at fr. Red underscore Hubner that. H. U. E. B. E R. We've got a lot to talk about baseballwise the cubs are going for the series win against the reg, the rough reg, the reds of have not been easy for the north siders this year taking on three Cincinnati about a week or so ago. And now splitting the first two games and making yesterday's interesting. When Dietrich homered off of Darvish in the eighth inning tying the game at six came down to the end of the contest and the cubs coming away victorious Bodey with an RBI putting the cubs ahead and they win eight to six we'll talk about Darvish. We'll talk about chat would talk about this homestead the cubs went back locked, and the cubs are six and six over their last twelve games. They split the they split, the road trip, three and three and then they have split so far their first six games seven game homestand. They go for the series win and. Also to win the home stand today. It will be Tanner Roark, and, oh, Jose cantata lightly to be dancing through the raindrops. It's supposed to rain. I think it may clear up in time for the game to get in as the cubs go at it at Wrigley field. We'll talk about that. And we will also get into in this first hour the White Sox because there's an article in the sun times. Tommy Waddell, asked me at Friday. What it was. I was looking at it was newspapers newspaper back page of the sun times today, says if he five hundred coming off a one hundred law season, the White Sox, or flirty with a break, even season that would boost a rebuild, and Rick Morrissey, has an article nineteen victory improvement in twenty nineteen is feasible the rebuilding sacks just might finish with five hundred record. I would be more our be more inclined to agree with him and to get behind him on that. If. In fact, they play a little bore consisted baseball, and we'll get to some of the things that happened yesterday. They have dropped two games to the twins. And when I say dropped. I do have Charlie Tilson mind when I say that we'll get to that for those who missed it. They lost the first game on Friday. Eleven to four. They lost yesterday. Eight to one day, but outscored nineteen five in the first two games Minnesota. And somebody tweeted by Twitter gets to be the tweets. He's all we've got sixteen more against these guys. Yeah. The twins are hitting everything the twins in the first fifty games of the season had three hundred runs scored even my math from Our Lady of the mount and more knees will allow me to say that with a three hundred runs and fifty games. They scored six runs a game. Two games. Three games ago before they played the sax they had eight overs a game. They hit I what is three the other day. I think the only had one yesterday. What's wrong with them only? One homer. But the twins are an unbelievable t right now. You'll look at major league baseball. And right now the Minnesota Twins have six eighty six winning percentage. That is the best in baseball. There are thirty five and sixteen cubs thirty twenty six hundred percentage. The dodgers thirty four eighteen to six fifty four percentage. The Astros are thirty five eighteen sixty they just had to get rid of the White Sox who took two in a row now. They've taken two straight from Boston down in Houston, and the Yankees of sixty seven winning percentage but the Minnesota Twins at thirty five and sixteen seventeen at eight record at home. And they are the top team right now all Abass ball three one. Two three three two three seven seven six. I'm going to talk about the fire later, but quickly said smart. Call right off the bat. We'll get to your market as you can see what's going on. Hey, how you doing today? I'm gonna talk about, you know, I wanted to tender afire game speak, their radio coming schedule. Are they, they're not in Chicago and they're not out there next week, right? Yeah. The league actually takes a little bit a break because they have this Gold Cup tournament. That's played a lot of players leaguer playing it. So the fire believe it or not today is may twenty fifth. The fires next home games until June twenty second. Okay, nothing. I touched by the twins and 'Success hitting home runs. Their scouting area was Asian of opposing teams before they got to be top notch. They gotta be picking up things when they're just not only scouting, but what the other pitchers how they set up and continue other teachers before the pitches, even gift to them, they must be guessing exactly what's coming and where it's coming and everything to be successful. They got a lot of young guys marketing appreciate the call. Started here on ESPN thousand I very, very good along these teams right now are very, very good analytically. They do a lot of good game prep. That's why I was a little upset the other day when the White Sox played against ver Lander Overlander is one of the best pitchers in baseball. It's amazing at his age. He just continues to get better. There have been before years ago with Roger Clemens, but we'll just leave that at that. But you look at it the White Sox headed off approach. I thought against just Verleger. They're approaching at some of these other guys been better. But they've been shut down the last couple of games in Minnesota. We'll get. We'll talk more whites actually got tons of White Sox. Talk about we've got tons of cubs to talk about, and your phone calls three one two three three two three seven seven six. Remember, if you're out and about may, she also listen to the show, the ESPN app, Kate, take it on your phones, wherever it is. I know I listened at home a lot. I come downstairs in the morning and I just tell tell my EVA's on echo. I say, you know, hey Alexa, play ESPN Chicago radio and boom there it is. So another way to listen to us if you don't wanna go out over and turn it on at home but baseball yesterday at Wrigley field. It was a very interesting game back in. Fourth you had you Darvish going out there and Darvish, go seven plus innings. He gives up twelve hit six runs two walks five strikeouts. But it was an important game for Darvish edited -portant game for the cubs. Darvish goes. When the bullpen needed arrest. The bullpen has been used lot. The cubs before the game yesterday said downs. Goodness and also sent down Norwood who had pitched the day before and they brought up to relievers. Dylan Maples who got the win yesterday. And also, they brought up Tim Collins. He didn't see the he didn't pitch yesterday. Tyler Chet would came and got his first save. But after the game Joe and talks about how important the win was especially with Darvish is outing. Well, they seem to be like that, especially like recently. We're seeing a lot of good pitching. The wind was the friend of both sides today. But really, got to give you a ton of credit for getting that deeply into the game. He said, it's good stuff at the end the stuff was still there, but it's one hundred seven pitches and you just it's a deflating when all that happens. I had his quickest ending before, and there was a six pitching. And I thought he looked really sharp. And of course, with the shorter bullpen let's give it a role, but he was he was really good. He was very good tough. Situation hard ground wind blown out. I thought he did great. Yeah. Darvish pitched pretty well. I mean it was his longest outing as a Cobb. He gets into the eighth inning and they needed that they needed their pitcher to go that deep because they have been using the bullpen a lot Joe mentions at the very beginning about the way the games had been listen to the games this week. Okay today is Sunday. Here's the six games from previously this week, Monday a loss five to four to Philly that a win on Tuesday. Three to a win on Wednesday, eight to four at Thursday. They lose nine two seven Friday they lose six to five every one of these games. Lots of runs big scores very, very close back and forth and yesterday a win eight to six now I mentioned how Tyler chat would came in and Tyler chat was the guy that can really help this team going forward. I'm not exactly sure what he's going to do how he's going to do it as he going to be. The long guy are they going to consider using him out of the bullpen at the end yesterday? He came in, in the ninth inning with a two run lead eight to six and the first thing he did was give back to back catch divider Suarez. Then he he gets double play ground ball where he hustles his tail off over the first base he's standing there at first base, he's not running there. He's standing at first base waiting for the throne from second base on the three six three or three six one double play. And imagine talk not only about chat, which defends but also how he decided to go to chat with the ninth inning that he was available. You know, he's been throwing really well. Chatty, stones rice he could do anything for us for anything. He's that valuable stuff that good. You saw the stuff and one of the most underrated things you've ever talked about. And I'm sure some of you didn't notice it, how he covered for space. I've talked about this in the past guys are really good fielder. And he covers first base as quickly as they radically perfect as anybody else in that really helped make decorate throw out of the ground ball. The second base that got the double play as soon as the ball is hit and the replay. You can see Tyler chat would busting at full speed over to first base. He knows his job. He knows where you're supposed to do with the ball is hit tier led to the left hand side, and it was a very, very big play because there are times of pitcher doesn't get there in time. There are times where you know, the pitcher may Loullie gag over the first base dot Tyler chat. Would he didn't so chat would help this team? And think about it, then we're gonna get into Lucas g Lido to the to the pitchers who allow the most walk. In baseball last year. Chat would walk ninety five guys and ninety for Lucas g Lido? They are both very, very important cogs for their team this year. Three one two, three three two three seven seven six. One thing I want to get into also for cubs, and I mentioned this on Friday with Jesse when I was in here for carbon the current in your co show and I every time I say it, it sounds stupid. So if you wanna tell me, I'm stupid. He wanted tweet me tell me, I'm stupid, but it seems like the cubs do. Well, whether hit home runs. And one of the reasons I say this to the reasons, one of them is whenever they're struggling and leave Manhattan base. They're not at the long ball. And what do we always hear Joe say, at least three or four or five times a year? We just need to move the ball around. We need to get the bad out of the ball and hit the ball around watching the Houston Astros. The cubs federal an opportunity to do that. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as a cubs go down to Houston. The Astros put the ball in play there do a very good job of putting the ball in. Play. Now the cups don't always do that the cubs win yesterday. And why did the cubs win?.

"Signing my number one off season move the Minnesota Twins hiring. Rocco? Ball deli as manager. Yes. That calming Rocco ball deli as the twins manager. My number one move the off season. I love it. Because for probably a similar logic that the twins applied here. You have a great character guy, a great clubhouse guy, a guy that when he went back to be a first base. Coach with Tampa was coach it was beyond just being a first base coach he was a mentor. You know, he can he can give pointers on hitting. He can be clubhouse guy even after his playing. Rear. I think he's gonna make a fantastic manager. I I mean, the the central obviously still belongs to Cleveland, but we're not that far removed from the Minnesota Twins being a playoff team. I think that they'll they'll definitely be better than they were last year, especially with the dishes that they've made from a player's standpoint. But love the idea of Rocco ball deli at the helm of the Minnesota Twins Brockhall. Y'all some Trump assholes? Scale wake for the gaming. He's got the fatigue thing. Right. That's true. This. This goes to show just how long this off season has been going on because you guys up in forgot by far ille- best move valleys of the Astros Goldie gold. Oh, yeah. Goldie? The cardinals is Abby out though, is that they have to extend him. No, see. That's that's the thing for me is like that's just gravy. I think the price paid was so reasonable even for a hypothetical rental that it was an obvious move for the cardinals. And I can't believe especially in the given hindsight now that we've looked at some of the other deals that have gone down. I can't believe that was the best offer brings up ten player. Mark Reynolds back to the Rockies continue J. That was about was. I was gonna say it was a nice ending point. I think Paul Goldschmidt is the is the clear-cut winner here. Congratulations to me. Well, I think we all love all Goldschmidt a hell of a lot. I still think I 'cause why p is a big cardinals fan. He's like why don't the cardinals getting like why are they cheap annot? Like, why aren't they going to you know, enter the Bryce Harper sweepstakes. Because you you got your guy like they're going to now do their best to extend him. And they have a great track record as it pertains to extending players superstar players during prime years when they actually want to get something done. So yeah, I I would love love to see Paul Goldschmidt, Saint Louis school border sky. I don't think so. The other way. What else we got? If you were if he were. If he were abortus guy, I feel like that would have been the big story line over the cardinals trying to. Yeah. No, L sports. Okay. Okay.
