"If the rookies show that they're ready to play. Yeah, I mean, you go back a couple of years ago, I was the guy on the pod that was screaming and standing on the table to give Damien Harris the football, give him the football. I love Damien Harris, but then Ramon ray Stevenson happened. And so, you know, there's some leeway there. We talk about some depth. There's some depth there. Speaking of depth, behind receiver, it sounds really weird to say that with the Patriots. I'm not telling you they have a crazy spectacular, unbelievable ceiling here. But you've got actual legitimate NFL receivers, Greg, on this roster, you've got devonta Parker, Nelson Aguilar, Kendrick Bourne, Jacoby Myers, taekwon, so those are the guys that I don't think would surprise anybody making this roster. The one that might surprise some people, train Nixon. You've got Nixon making the team, you've got Montgomery, wilkerson, and Perry getting cut. I don't think we need to talk about Nikhil Harry. We know he's gone. So why did you make Nixon the guy to be on this roster in that final spot? Yeah, I just think that he earned it with what he's done in this off season to this point. You know, we'll see once the pads go on and there's more competition, does he continue to show a really good relationship with Mac Jones and things like that. To me, it's between train Nixon and time Montgomery in terms of inside sort of can give you some slots snaps inside outside versatility. You can run end arounds. So to me, it's just Nixon show me more to this point. Jacoby Myers, then he thought about maybe if Nixon continues to pop, is he expendable? Can he get you a pick? We know his contract situation. He just signed his tender, but any thought about maybe moving on from Jacobi if you see enough from Trey and even taekwon Thor? Yeah, I mean, I love Jacoby and he's valuable, but the Patriots need to get more explosive. And Jacoby is a just a strictly possession receiver. He's not going to bust any huge place for you. Took them forever to get his first career touched down. I would be willing to sort of move on from his cap hit and go with a guy like Trey Nixon because you're going to go with you have Parker right now you Parker Aguilar Aguilar born. Thornton will have to see what kind of snaps he gets. I mean, I don't think he if the off season is any indication. I don't think he's targeted for regular snaps more of like a shot play type of guy to start as a rookie. But we'll have to see how that goes. All right, tight end. Don't think we need to spend a ton of time here, kind of self explanatory hunter Henry John O Smith, Devin Asia, who sometimes you could forget is on this team. Because of Henry and Smith. And Dalton, I mean, this is the year. Dalton Keene has to do something. He was banged up again in mini camp. So those are your four tight ends. Again, self explanatory. Let's jump to the offensive line. Let's start with tackle because I think one of the more interesting conversations we've had is Isaiah wind throughout the last couple of months here. You've got Trent Brown, Justin Haran, and Yanni could juice being your tackles. You've cut Andrew stuber and people might notice the name that I did not mention was Isaiah wind because Gregg, you've had enough, you are ready to ship him out of Foxborough..

"Lot of sense. Really, you just need one of macmillan magro and Wilson to pop. If one of those three guys pop and you get the kind of the steady if unspectacular play from juwan Bentley and you feel pretty good at the second level, you just need one of those three guys to show up and really pop for you. And I think the chances are pretty good. At least one of those three guys will play well enough to give you something there. And there's always, you know, the Dante Hightower stuff that will continue to flow until he decides to retire officially or sign elsewhere, which I think it's just retire or play for the Patriots, one more season. Let's look at the secondary here. Cornerback, we already kind of hit Malcolm butler goes to the practice squad. You've got Jonathan Jones, Terrence Mitchell. Jalen mills, they're on the team. Marcus Jones, Jack Jones, just traded. I mean, just drafted. So they're obviously on the team. And what it comes down to is you picking up Sean wade over Malcolm butler and you really explained why earlier anything to add to that or we're good to move on. No, now release is juwan Williams and I don't think there's any shock. I mean, Nick, I went back and I do you know that you want Williams started the playoff game against the bills. I didn't, I guess I had forgotten that or blocked it out of my memory, but yeah, that happened. We all wanted to forget it. Let's look at, I mean, if there's one spot that I feel pretty good about, it's safety. I mean, you've got Devin McCourty. You've got Adrian Phillips there. Two solid dependable consistent veteran guys, Kyle Duggar, I think all of us really expect that third year leap from him. And then you've got the wild card in jabril peppers, who is athletic coming off of an injury, but, you know, he's kind of an interesting guy. Miles Bryant, Joshua Bledsoe last year is what, 6th round pick, I think, and then you've got Brennan's schooler who's a UDF a, all of those guys cut. How are you feeling about safety, Greg? Yeah, I mean, I really do not like releasing miles Bryant. He's a guy I talked about last year and they did release him and they signed him to the practice squad and he eventually made it back on the team and he was out there against the bills once he was the slot corner once Jonathan Jones went down..

"We're back here on NFL live in this new end of the show, the bears are out there many camps. They Justin Fields talking about looking ahead to the season. Listen to what he said here. You know, I'm the type of guy to, you know, like to know that I'm prepared. So right now I'm just being honest, we're not really playing a game right now. So, but in that time comes, we will be ready. So right now, no, not what you play. Well, Justin, you got 89 days until you got to play a game. 89 days. Anybody, anybody want to overreact here in freak out that Justin Fields said they're not ready to play a game. Robert, you want to freak out or you good. No, I'm good. Listen, you gotta trust the process, right? Right now they shouldn't be ready to play a game. He could have probably worded that a little bit better. At the end of the day, they got a whole lot of time before the season starts. So Justin Fields keep playing the field, man. Oh, oh, nice play on the last name there. Hey, here's what's funny, Laura. What? Laura, what's funny is? We want guys to be honest. He was really just being honest. They're not ready to play a game. Nobody is right now. It's not time to play football. But everybody wants you to come on. Yeah, I'm so pumped. We're so ready. Everything's going so well. The truth though is this. He was also not prepared to play a game when he had to go out and play Cleveland last year. After the bears moved up to draft him. And that's the problem. He better not be in that situation again. Yeah, 8, 89 days to figure it out. All right, how about them cowboys, guys? The start and mandatory mini camp today, as usual, expectations sky high, a Dallas better be ready to play a game right now. There are a lot of questions left to be answered about exactly what this team will look like, but one thing that's different from this time last year, dak is healthy and feeling good. He spoke today and we'll get to that more right now with Edward. He's at the star where dak Prescott addressed the media. And what did the cowboys QB have to say? Yeah, Laura dak Prescott described his confidence as being, quote, through the roof. And by observation, you can see a moving more effortlessly in his first healthy off season since fracturing his right leg and ankle in 2020. Prescott today through scoring passes in mini camp scramble drills, moving both to his left and to his right. And when I asked Prescott about his point of emphasis this off season, he said it's been about improving as a thrower from every platform. He said he's been conscious about being more mechanically sound. Keeping his right leg under him and driving the football in a way that sometimes he didn't last season. Here's how Prescott evaluates where he is now compared to the same point last off season when his involvement was limited. I think I'm far, so much further along than I was last year at this time. I mean, just being able to get the team raps as you said, being able to move more, take care of my whole body and just focus on everything and not just my leg. To use the difference. Well, coach Mike McCarthy said he hopes Prescott will have more designed runs and movement throws during the upcoming season after admitting the coaching staff tried to be smart with him last season in that same regard. There were 30 quarterbacks last year with more rushing first downs than Prescott a year ago. That limited the cowboys offense significantly. And while Prescott spoke early in his career about his desire to play a physical style at the quarterback position, he's since learned a better balance the risk and reward of running recognizing the most important thing for the cowboys is it Prescott is healthy and playing every week. So Laura, while the cowboys still want to protect their $40 million quarterback, it also appears that Prescott feels he's going to be better able to more fully use his vast array of athletic talents in the upcoming season. Yeah, and it's great to hear that he's feeling as good as he is. And the cowboys offense will look different this season following the departure of Amari Cooper too. They could turn to the ground game where they have one of the best running back duos in the NFL and Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard. Last season, they were one of three running back duos in the NFL to each have at least 1000 yards from scrimmage and the first to do it for the cowboys since Herschel Walker and Tony Dorsett back in 1986 a long time ago. So Robert with Amari Cooper gone, questions around Zeke as their number one running back. What should be the cowboys offensive identity? Well, Laura, I'm happy that dak is healthy and has a full off season. But this offense needs to run through Zeke and Tony Pollard in that order. You paid Zeke for a reason, so allow him to be that big, bruising back that he is. You hear a lot about how Z had a down year last year. But he was 7th and attempts he was 7th in yards and 6th in rushing touchdowns, and even averaged 4.2 yards to carry, which is the third highest of his career. So you got to understand that the narrative has really been shaped because there's this fixation with Tony Pollard right now, and it's for good reason. The guy is lightning in a bottle. But understand that two back systems can work. We've seen this before. You can talk about Bo Jackson and Marcus Allen, you can talk about Deangelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart and you can go way, way back and talk about Jim Brown and Bobby Mitchell as well. It elevates the entire play of the whole offense and it takes pressure off the quarterback. When you have dak Prescott as your QB, the Super Bowl is attainable, but the way they're going to get there is through Zeke and Tony Pollard. Listen, RG three, man. He preaching. Reverend Leon lolli love. For Martin. But I want to tweak it a little bit, right? If you look at what I would love to do with Tony Tony Pollard is moving around, right? You no longer have Cedric Wilson. You don't have Amari Cooper. And so now it doesn't necessarily have to be that it's a two back system. Why can't we see Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott on the field at the same time? Go split backs. Put them in the slot. Allow him the motion. Jet suites. Just find ways to put the football in his hand. So Ezekiel Elliott can still be that bruiser can still be that lead back, but also Tony Pollard's touches increase. That's what's going to happen to this offense. That's what Kellen Moore has to do in order to add more explosion, more oomph, and more versatility. Zeke, you get the tough carries, Tony Pollard, you create the explosive plays in space, and it's going to be up on the offensive coordinator to design this offense and scheming in the way where they can both be used to the best of their abilities. Let me just tweak this sermon one more time here, guys. My concern is more about the offensive line and some of the changes there. Without my own callings and some of those we can talk about a two back system all we want, but if no one's buying time for those guys and protecting them as well as buying time for dak Prescott. I don't know how that's going to look. All right, time for one more thing before we go. Elsewhere in the NFC east. The Washington commanders had their team do a baby photo inspired shoot. They laid on the little blanket. They circled the number on how many seasons they've been in the league. RC, would you be down for this? Like if we did this on NFL live and I put out the baby blanket and how many years you've been on the show, would you do this? Listen, I don't use a baby blanket, but I ain't putting on no diaper Laura. I'm just gonna be honest. What about a pacifier? No, you didn't. Now you bought this up. Lie Dale's going to want to do it. You want to do it. And everybody's going to be all in. Like your tiktoks and then RC is going to be the curmudgeon. I'm not wearing no diaper. Happy babies. Why not? These are going to be in stadiums. In the season. Teams are going to use.

"You know, it's funny too, Jeff, because when you talk about Lamar Jackson and the conversations around him right now in this ravens team, anytime anyone in the media or anywhere is trying to say, oh, well, things are contentious. Lamar has even clapped back and said, no, it's not that. I mean, it seems like a very amicable relationship with them, but where do things stand in the contract talks between Lamar and the ravens. I guess I should have gone to church on Sunday and asked God because I have no idea what the country. Here's the deal. This is an unorthodox situation. Lamar Jackson does not have a conventional agent. His mother is on a team that is representing him at this point. So we're not getting the typical leaks that us media people rely on here. The years made very clear that he doesn't want this to be out in the public. Now it could change at any point, but Steve bisciotti, the team owner himself, has said that this is a very unique situation where, in fact, he said, at one point, Eric dacosta, the team's general manager, is not basically it's not his job to call Lamar all the time and say, hey, do you want to get this deal done? It's got to be on Lamar himself as well. And again, we don't know what the progress is at this point, but any day now we would love to hear. Yeah, yeah, prayers up. Here's the thing guys, Lamar's betting on himself. He's saying, let me show you more. Let me drive that price up even more, which we would expect him to do. I'm at an all y'all to my prayer request list, so drop those.

"Against AFC west champion. The Kansas City Chiefs. Yeah, I mean, listen, RC if the defensive player of the year comes out of the AFC west, that's really something considering some of those offenses. And by the way, no one knows who's going to win that AFC west because it's really hard to predict, but according to ESPN's football power index, the Chargers are a slight favorite to win the AFC west, the 29% chance. So I'm saying there's a chance, only 29%. All right, let's go to Cleveland, guys. Deshaun Watson was at brown's mini camp today, spoke to the media for the first time since March 25th. He was asked many questions about the 24 civil suits filed against him alleging inappropriate sexual conduct. And here's some of what he said. I've been honest and I've been truthful about my stance. And that's, you know, I never forced anyone I never assaulted anyone. So that's what I've been saying it from the beginning. And I'm going to continue to do that. I just want to clear my name and be able to tell, let the fats and the legal legal procedures continue to play out. So right now that's all I'm doing is want to clear my name and be able to let all the facts come out in the court of law and be able to focus on that. I do understand that I do have aggressive as far as the impact that is have on the community. And people outside of just myself, you know, and that includes my family, that includes this organization that includes my teammates and this locker room that have to answer to these questions that includes the fan base of the Cleveland Browns that includes males, females, everyone across the world, you know? So that's one thing I do regret is the impact that has triggered on so many people. And yeah, it's tough to do it. So the big question here, Jeff Darlington, where do we stand with the NFL's investigation into Watson, the timeline on handing down a suspension? What does that look like? Well, Laura, you heard deshaun Watson there say that he wants the facts to play out. He wants to let the legal course play out. And that is one side of the track right now, but there is the other side as well, which is the NFL's investigation, which is completely separate from the legal side of things. And the NFL has made very clear to me that they are not putting a timeline on this. They have spoken to Desean Watson once, but we know that there have been two more civil lawsuits filed since that conversation with Watson. So it remains possible that the NFL could go back and speak to Watson more about this, or they could simply decide that they do have enough information and levy whatever punishment or lack thereof that they decide moving forward. One last point we should make here, it is not Roger Goodell, who ultimately will decide this punishment. It is instead an investigation team that has been tasked with this assignment since the start of this whole controversy. Yeah, and it's a new investigation team as well. I think a lot of people don't necessarily realize that, but a new group that is tasked with this is Jeff said, all right, still more to come on NFL live and we get to ravens camp. Lamar Jackson back there for the first time this off season. RC tells us why Baltimore shouldn't change how Lamar plays if they want to be serious contenders in the AFC. That's all coming your way. Right here on NFL live. We'll be right back. Factor with us on NFL live, chiefs, one of 17 teams in many camp today while tackle Orlando Brown, not there as he tries to get a new deal done. Now you saw a Patrick Mahomes Andy Reid juju Smith Schuster all out there practicing will continue to check around with different teams as we go through many camps happening today. Let's get to the Cardinals also in mandatory mini camp. Quarterback Kyler Murray is there still waiting to see if the new deal happens with Tyler and Arizona after he made it very clear that he wants one. Number one out there in cliff Kingsbury said in terms of Kyler Murray's contract getting done. Quote, I'm praying before training camp. So Jeff, we go to you here. What more can you tell us on Tyler's deal? Where things stand right now? Well, Laura, general manager, Steve Khan has been very clear and very honest ever since this thing went a little bit sideways in February. I talked to crime right around that time and he said, look, we just need some time. We want Kyler to be in this building for the long term. We want him as our quarterback. We're going to extend him, but these things take time. He made clear that after the draft he would focus on that, he has done that and it feels like at least Kyler Murray being at this mini camp is a really good sign of progress. I do anticipate I would guess that this does get done before the start of training camp. Yeah, Jeff there was definitely a tone change with Kyler and let's get to another quarterback with contract questions. Lamar Jackson, you see him out there in the ravens, a totally different situation because the former MVP doesn't have an agent. He saw yesterday multiple ravens posting on social media about their QB being there, how much it means to them and this team. Here's more. You block it out. You know, as, you know, playing football at a young age we've all been, you know, with the media for a long, long time. And there's going to be a lot of naysayers, but you've got to be able to block stuff like that out. You know, we don't look at the outside too much. I was really excited to have 8 back out there. I told the trainer to give them art some water today, you know, he needed it, I think so. I've been messing with him a little bit, having 8 back is great. We got some great work in OTAs without him and everything. So having him back, everything's elevated. The Lamar Mark connection is looking good, you know, the Bateman connection. Give him some water. Nothing like a little mini camp trash talk. Why not? Robert, this offense relies heavily on Lamar. You spent time there with him. You know him well. You know their approach? Well, what should be their strategy in using their quarterback? Well, I can tell you right now the Baltimore Ravens can not ask Lamar Jackson to be Superman all the time. Now he is the most dynamic offensive weapon in the game today, but they have to find ways to take some pressure off of him. If you ask him to make every play in every single game for 17 to 21 games throughout his season, he's not going to be able to hold that up into the playoffs. So listen, they brought in offensive line help. They're going to get back their top three running backs in JK dobbins, gustavus Edwards, and justice hill off of injury from last year. And I know for a fact that they need to establish James crochet and Devin duvernay in the passing game. I worked extensively with those guys when I was there and I know they're ready to carry more of the load. But what the ravens have to do is they have to find other answers in the playoffs aside from Mark Andrews and Lamar Jackson because teams are going to try to make them play left handed when they get to the big time playoff football. So they need to use the regular season to figure out how to find those other answers and not just fall into the trap of letting Lamar do everything every single game. Yeah, I think when you look at Lamar Jackson and what he's meant to this team, there's been no player in the NFL asked to carry this sort of offensive load. And so what great Roman is going to have to do is find ways to allow Lamar to pace himself, not necessarily exert himself early on in games early in the season. And then allow his instincts and natural athleticism to take over. There will be plays or there will be games where we watch him rush for over a hundred yards. He'll throw for over 300 yards, but it has to rely on the other players on this offense, this great defense that's going to be healthy this year and the great coaching of John Hobart to shield Lamar Jackson from having to do too much for putting it in his hands and saying here Lamar take us to the promised land. Even Moses needed some help from God and his staff. We also do, right? Well, Lamar needs from help from his coach and his staff. You know what? Of all the things happening today, I didn't expect this to get biblical, but I'm glad that we did..

"Yeah, Jeff, that's a great insight there. And what I would just say is just another example of just bad business for Washington. Terry mclaurin is one of the most respected guys in that locker room. He's the best player that they have the best offensive weapon. He never complains. He always supports the quarterback who's throwing him the football and they should have already paid him. Now Terry would have been a lot cheaper if they had paid him at the beginning of the off season, but now because of AJ Brown as Jeff Dalton mentioned, talk about tyreek hill. You talk about Stefon Diggs. Scary Terry is going to command a lot more money at this point. And I just think they could have went about this a much better way. You handle the players that treat you well and do well by your organization. You take care of that money and right now it just looks like scary Terry is going to be making some scary money here pretty soon and he's earned every single penny of it. Yeah, I mean guys the other thing too about this is the Carson Wentz piece of it and wouldn't it be nice and nice security blanket for him to know that you've got Terry mclaurin just shored up there over the last two seasons. He has the lowest drop percentage among all whiteouts that have at least a 130 targets. Carson Wentz is like, please make this work for this guy. All right, let's get to some more news around these mini cans. You see, new saint Jarvis Landry, a nice one handed grab right there. Look at that. He actually tweeted on it. He said, come to pop up. I like that. That's how I feel if I ever catch anything. Also, there's crystal lava who's catching a pass right here from Jameis Winston. He's looked really good out there as well. You see some of those weapons, the saints have, and it gets you excited about what they may be bringing to the table coming up on NFL live Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles chargers prime for a run at an AFC west title, but how much will their defense factor into their success? RC thinks they'll be key in the chase for a Super Bowl. He'll tell you more. Next, we'll be right back. I'm on my way. Game one of the Stanley Cup final is tomorrow night. Steven stamkos and the two time defending cup champion lightning look for the three P again, Nathan McKinnon and kale macar and the Western Conference champion avalanche are coverage begins at 8 eastern on ABC and ESPN+. Many camps going on across the league. How about the jets holding mini camp today and Jeff reporter rich jamini, tweeting out this from rookie soft gardener, how much does wearing number one mean to him? Well, he paid teammate DJ Reed 50 grand for the number. Ryan, you're paying anybody 50 grand to get a number. You get on that? Listen, Laura, my son and bonus when I came out of LSU after taxes was $683 and 54 cents. I couldn't have bought a piece of a number of Jersey. But if you got it, I figured you wanted sauce is probably planning to make a whole bunch more money in that number one. That 50 grand might not hurt him, but it would have crushed me. He probably will. Robert, you were shaking your head. You're not spending any money on a number, are you? What, $50,000? I mean, who have you kidnapped? Chelsea, Clinton, come on, man. $50,000 for a number? Oh my lord. That just breaks my heart, man. I got a call sauce. As soon as we got the show, I'm gonna call sausage. We gotta talk about this, man. Sauce, you're getting a call, right? Let's read and react. Lots of people speaking today around the league, mini cans happening everywhere. Let's begin with the Buffalo Bills. Everyone's Super Bowl favorite, apparently. They're looking ahead to a season with massive expectations. Here's what quarterback Josh Allen said about it. We've got the highest expectations out of anybody. I know you can look at the media and you can hear different word after different word and different thought after different thought. But we're here for one goal and that's to win a world championship. So we're trying to do everything we can do and again, we're not putting too much pressure on us 'cause we know what to expect. But in terms of going out there and executing, we're just trying to get better and play the best football that we can play. Not too much pressure, but Robert isn't Super Bowl or bust for the bills this year. Listen, everyone throws that turn around a little too loosely, but it is Super Bowl of bus for the Buffalo Bills when you look at the players that they have returning. Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs. Jordan pouring mark a high, the guys they brought in. Talk about von Miller, OJ Howard. They brought in roger sappho of the third and then they partnered kaya elin with your Davies white when he's healthy at corner. This team is ready to roll. They're going to be dominant and I'm ready to break out the tables with Bill mafia bills mafia if they win it all. Okay, all right, well look for that. I'll be looking forward to that if that happens. At Tennessee is where we go next. Derek Henry hasn't forgotten their early exit in last season's playoffs. Here's what he said about it. Yeah, yeah. It definitely was tough. I'm actually seeing Ryan. I think back in March, we both had a sign in Alabama. We were talking about it and he was saying, he was in dark place and I was like, I felt the same way, you know, just tough and, you know, we all expected it to do more and play a lot better. And we just want good enough, and you know, they were the better team, but you know, anytime like that, you know, always hurts when, you know, I feel like everything promised everything in front of you and just falls short. So it was tough, but definitely feel me in the off season. My son like a broken record because keep doing the same thing. But all you can do is load a few of you and get ready for the next one. Ryan, you expect the Titans to bounce back after that early exit last year? I don't. I don't. We look at the Tennessee Titans in a way that they were set up to make a playoff run, having to play offs run through Tennessee, a dominant running back that was back in healthy and Derek hindering the defense that was playing extremely well. They had their best opportunity to make it to the Super Bowl and now I feel that Ryan Tannehill has made it to their peak and I don't believe this team is in the same position this year as they were last. All right, so it's on Tannehill there. Finally, did the Chargers, let's go there. They're defense should be a headline for a team expecting to be a strong contender in the competitive AFC west. Listen to Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. Want to hear about Khalil. It wasn't sure if it was real or not. So that took a little time, but I mean, yeah, it's just it's amazing to have a guy like that in our room. I told joy, I always paid attention to how I eat. He uses his hands. The way it affects you know what I'm saying? Just the quarterback and even his power, you know what I mean? Even though we have discussions about that, I can't get too detailed, but yeah, he just had all the different tangibles and just looking forward to playing with him. And those two have forced to be reckoned with. And by the way, Joey, it's real. So Robert, what are your expectations for this charge's defense this season? Oh, peer dominance. When I see the names of Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack JC Jackson asante Samuel junior and Derwin James on one team, I think it's a creative team in Madden. And it's not just the names. It's the way these guys play. Bosa and Mac are relentless. Asante Samuel junior and JC Jackson are ball hawks and Derwin James can play at every level of the defense. Deep in the box, you can come down and cover tight ends and possibly even cover slot receivers. But for them, the only issue is their defense and the division that they're in. They're going to be going to begin some offensive weapons in that AFC west that are going to be crazy. So I don't think there'll be the highest ranked defense, but by the time they get to the playoffs, they will be battle tested in any team that they face. It's going to be, it's going to be a nightmare. These guys are going to be incredible. Listen, as defense is going to be good. The defense is going to have to make plays. But the offense will still drive this team. This team still will run through number ten and that's Justin Herbert because they're going to have to score to beat the Kansas City Chiefs to beat the Buffalo Bills to beat the Denver Broncos. This defense has to understand closing and you heard the names that RG three mentioned, the most important name there is durin James. There are James has an opportunity to be the defensive player of the year. This team is built around him. But what that tells me is when the Kansas City Chiefs have the ball and they're driving late and Josh Allen has played out of his mind. You need a team, that's not going to be the Buffalo Bills in the secondary, but Derwin James and that defense that can make a play against a team like Kansas City to win the west. This defense has to be better, has to be improved and there's no way that they could be worse, but they don't have to carry this team. They just have to make important plays against big time offenses in the right scenarios like we haven't seen teams do.

"Fuck with the protection of the new babe I can wait to get back. Let's go. I hope you're ready for this. 'cause I'm sure that's right baby. Start to feel a little closer to the NFL season beginning at 17 teams and mandatory mini camp today. You know what that means, all those picture days and a whole lot of fun that these teams are having. We'll be taking you around the league to the different mini can't see in some sights and sounds throughout this show today. Also later, a live report from cowboys camp. The reason someone here says let Zeke be Zeke and that Dallas offense will flourish. We welcome you glad you're with us today on NFL live Ryan Clark, Robert Griffin, the third Jeff Darlington here for the hour and we're gonna begin in Cleveland. We go there where Deshawn Watson is at brown's mandatory mini camp and the NFL has yet to make a decision as 24 civil suits filed by different women alleging inappropriate sexual conduct. They've been filed against him Watson spoke to the media today was asked multiple questions about those lawsuits. Honestly, he's been, you know, it's been tough. You know, just trying to make sure that I stay balanced with my mental and just my social life. But I have a great family. I have a great legal team, and I have a great support cast here in this organization. So when I walk into the building, all that stuff is outside. I got to focus on football. You know, I met with the NFL a couple of weeks ago and I did everything they asked me to do. I answered every question truthfully that the NFL asked me. I spent hours with the people that they brought down. And that's all I can do is just tell them and be honest and tell them exactly what happened and they all know they have a job and so I have to respect that and that's what we want to do is cooperate and they have to make a decision best for the lead. Now I've been honest and I've been truthful about my stance and that's I never forced anyone I never assaulted anyone. So that's what I've been saying it from the beginning and I'm going to continue to do that. I just want to clear my name and be able to tell let the fats and the legal legal procedures continue to play out. So right now that's all I'm doing is one to clear my name and be able to let all the facts come out in the court of law and be able to focus on that. I do understand that I do have aggressive as far as the impact that is have on the community. And people outside of just myself, you know, and that includes my family, that includes this organization that includes my teammates in this locker room that have to answer to these questions that includes the fan base of the Cleveland Browns that includes males, females, everyone across the world, you know? So that's one thing I do regret is the impact that it's have triggered on so many people. And yeah, it's tough to do it. So Kimberly Martin is in Cleveland covering Watson, this press conference today. Kimberly, what did you take away from today's media availability? Laura, you know what's crazy to me the vibe is so different than it was a little less than a month ago when I was here in Cleveland in this building when they introduced deshaun Watson as their new QB. The tenor in that press conference. It was somber, awkward, tense. Obviously, the allegations were brought up quite a bit during that press conference. And today, those same allegations, those same lawsuits, now we have two additional now we're up to 24. Those are still the backdrop of this entire situation, but the vibe felt different. Deshawn was smiley, talked about how he's been welcomed by people in the community in this locker room that, you know, he paid for guys to go to The Bahamas team bonding a lot was made about this brown's locker room and how it was fractured last year, and they are spending a lot of time trying to build that cohesion between the offense and the defense and at the center of that is deshaun Watson despite all of these allegations, Laura. Yeah, again, as you mentioned, Kimberly 24 civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct and assault. Let's get Jeff Darlington in here for a minute. And Jeff, is there any sense on the timeline for when the league will make a decision on any potential punishment for Watson? Laura, quite the opposite, actually, the league has been very clear throughout this process. Every time that I've checked in with them, that they have no timeline. And in fact, that is the one thing in this entire situation that they've been as firm on as possible. And part of that is because in the past, when they've done these types of investigations, sometimes they felt like they've come out with their punishment and their reaction, and then they've learned something more after the fact that has put them in a bind. And I think the NFL has really tried to get away from that model and make sure that they're as thorough as possible. Like Kimberly mentioned, they have spoken to Desean Watson once at this point. It wouldn't honestly surprise me, given that we have two more lawsuits, three, I believe, that we could hear from the NFL talking to Watson again. All that remains on the table, the NFL, meanwhile, has not handed out any type of discipline on this matter. We'll continue to keep an eye on that. And then there's Kevin Stefanski, the head coach of the browns, with uncertainty about who will be as quarterback as Watson suspension looms. He was asked about that today. I think Jeff with that, I'm going to be consistent and with what I've told you before and I'm just going to let that situation play out. Is it effect you don't? Like when you, when the news comes out, and you see it, does it have an effect on you. Aside from your respect in the process, I understand that, but when you see it. Yeah, I'm not going to get into those type of things. I would just tell you every single day trying to make sure that we focus on what is in front of us. Coach, what do you say to the team about that? Because obviously you can't totally block it out. I mean, it's in the headlines almost every day now. So what do you as the coach say to the team, you have to have addressed this at some point? I think with anything that's happening outside of our building, we've been very consistent with our team and making sure that we focus on our jobs when we walk into the building. And this situation, any situation you name it, you got to make sure that you have a job to do when you're here. And that's really what we're trying to do. So Ryan, how would you describe this situation's fans? And he doesn't know what's going to happen with deshaun Watson's suspension. And trying to figure out what this offense looks like because at the end of the day, that is his job. Yeah, that is his job, but when you think about it, his first job as the head coach of a football team is to be a leader of men. And the situation that the Cleveland Browns are now in when it pertains to deshaun Watson is a very difficult one. It is one that the players of the team will have to speak on one that Kevin is the fans will be asked about. So he does have to handle that in a certain way. Show up to work in a certain way. When he shows up to work, he has to figure out who's going to be his starting quarterback. He has no idea how long or if or when the song Watson will be suspended. And there are certain things in reasons you go out and get deshaun Watson that you want to build your offensive around. But you don't know if you'll have them. So it's that Jacoby Brissette and what things have to be different in order for Jacoby to be successful. And here's my biggest point in the biggest issue that Kevin is the fan ski will face. He's not just the offensive coach. He's not the offensive coordinator. He's the head coach. So when you build your team philosophy, you say we're going to play offense this way, defense this way, special teams, and here is how it will win games. He will not be able to do that. And so he gets the final word on what the song Watson's the suspension will be when it will start and when it will end. So he's having to put together essentially two different game plans for both offense and team every single day. And that's a difficult spot to be in, and I think that's why he is so stressed when asked questions about deshaun Watson. Yeah, guys, this is a very, very serious situation in Kevin Stefanski has to be the ultimate leader when he's talking to this team because when you talk about who is his quarterback going to be, it's not going to be Baker Mayfield, right? If deshaun Watson gets suspended, it's going to be Jacoby brisson. And now Jacoby brisset can run any offense that you want him to run. It's just not going to have the same juice as it would if Desean Watson was out there throwing the ball. Right. But this is a situation that the browns, they put themselves in, right? So they got to sit at the table that they made. And when you.

"And then were they perfect at the rim no, but they got enough of it going that it made it the difference, right? Right. So jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, like, you don't have bam adebayo staring at you when you go down the lane. You don't have brook Lopez staring at you when you're going down a lane. You can finish on draymond green. You can finish when they switch on get Tatum on Steph and get that matchup. He can finish over Steph Curry. So I think this looks sort of the more athletic team. I think there are the longer team and they play like that last night. You mentioned the rebounding, you know, when they had that big, two big lineup out there with Robin Al Horford, they got a lot more size up front than Golden State has. So they should dominate the glass. Like they should control the rebound and should control that aspect of the game. So I hope that they've cracked the code to, like I said at the beginning of this, I'm used to the Celtic snap pushing these series to 6 or 7 games just because they can't take the easy way. I know they swept Brooklyn, but even that series, like every game was close, right? It was like kind of like a gentleman sweep. But I'll see what ends up happening tomorrow night. I have a good feeling about it tomorrow night, but I think the warriors come back in game 5 and don't let it end like that. I think that the solids are going to have to win a pressure game 6 to knock them out, right? I don't think the warriors are just going to roll over and give it to them in 5 games. But I also don't want to get too ahead of ourselves and crown them champs just yet either. So we'll see what ends up. What's game 5 going to be like back in San Francisco? What are the fans going to do? Are they going to boo Celtics players in the streets and how are they going to respond? And will the Celtics will mark a smart be able to take it? Oh no, I can't even imagine. Yeah, sorry ridiculous. I'm sorry. What's going to happen? We still take sports seriously in this city. I know the NBA is a league where it's people for players, not teams and all of that. We weren't going to shake hands and say, well, I hope we just get a competitive series. I hope we get an entertaining series. Hey, if you guys, if we win, you can come to our parade. If you win, we'll go to yours. I know a lot of the country view sports that way now, not here. Not here, never here. This is about us. This is about us. Look, I'm not going to flip the bird..

"You take that ad was pretty much even if you can come, if you can start the game the way they've started games. And they've been great at starting games in these playoffs. You don't need to win the third quarter. You just need to survive it, especially when they've been as good in the fourth as they happen. I felt like they survived the third quarter last night. That was certainly encouraging. And even though the turnover number was a little high, I gave that stat out on the last show about the over under 12 turnovers. They were able to play good in the minutes they needed to. So that was there was a lot encouraging about last night. Yeah, when it comes to the taunting and the fans and all that stuff, my message to everybody going to the game tomorrow night is keep it up, right? Like this is clearly affecting them. They're talking about it left and right. And I get that a lot of the time the media asks them and they're just answering questions, but it's clearly the topic on their mind and Steve Kirk came out right after the game and called us classless and Klay Thompson kind of say the same thing and then there was that report today that staffers walking around Boston are getting the bird and everything and look, I'm gonna be honest with you we were driving through the city the other day and I saw a warriors Jersey and I almost gave the guy a bird, right? Like this is Boston. This isn't Toronto, like we're not, we're not a hockey town, right? Not that weird. Although we would do the same thing if it was the bruins. That's what I'm saying. Like this is a legitimate sports town. This is not, you're not in Silicon Valley anymore. Golden State. With all the rich guys in tech out there in San Francisco. They moved from Oakland to San Francisco and it shows. Yeah, this is a real sports town and you are the enemy and draymond green in particular because as I've been saying basically the entire series, draymond green is not good at basketball anymore. The only thing that he's good at is playing defense and goofing it up, right? Like those are the two things that he can do. The guy shot is he's gotta be what like two for 30 in this series or something like that, shooting the basketball. I think he had 13 points before game two. I don't know what he had exactly last night, but he's not scoring. He's not doing anything else besides causing a ruckus and playing some solid defense. Let's give credit where credit's due here. Draymond's not a score. They're not counting on him. If he needs to score 20 points, I'm just saying he's not wrong. He's not that player he used to be, right? Like draymond. He can be a factor and we've seen it. We saw it earlier in this series. He can be a factor as a passer. He.

"As well. I'll say what I've said the last couple of shows. I still think it's going to be a rotation. I think between Mac Wilson and Ronnie Perkins and Cameron mccrone and Josh uche, I think they're all very versatile, but I think they all have different strengths. And I think you can really match them to the situation. So I look at as a situation where they're going to kind of try to, you know, it could be game planning. They're going to try to put the best guy on the field for the best, you know, based on the matchup. So outside of Bentley on early downs, is there really a guy that skill set stands out so much where you say this guy needs to be a 60s, 65, 70% usage rate guy? No. So play it off the matchups. They've done it at other positions before. They've done it a corner. Not recently, but they've done it a corner. They've done it a wide receiver. Why not try it at linebacker? I think linebackers and position where that sort of strategy would really have some benefits. I think that's kind of how they're looking at both these positions. Linebacker and corner is that it's somewhat situational and they're going to roll with the hot hand, I'm sure in some occasions, but if one game plan, you come in and you're going to be pretty zone heavy than the guy like Terrence Mitchell probably has an upper hand on Malcolm butler and Jack Jones and those types of schemes. So they'll probably throw Mitchell out there, but if they feel like the best game plan against the opponent is to play man, then you might see Malcolm butler, you might see Jack Jones, you might see some of the man guys, right? So I think that that's a possibility pretty much everywhere. And they're going to try to just mask it with depth, right? And sort of just throw a bunch of different skill sets at it. I'm not as concerned about linebacker as corner just because of what you were kind of saying, which is you're only going to really be playing one or two of these guys at a time, right? So it's not like you're really going to have to play anybody 85% of the snaps anyway. So if Bentley is your first down run stuffing may climb backer and then on second and third down and passing situations, you play more safeties in the box and you're really light in that situation and that's fine too. If Mack Wilson sort of emerges, that that would work as well. But I think that they're really optimistic that at least on the ball rushing the passer that uche or Ronnie Perkins might actually turn it on this season and be consistent throughout the season. They certainly need that..

"Yeah, they did. I thought it was really telling yesterday. He actually got hurt early in practice. I don't know what it was. He went upon he don't try to die for the football and he landed on the football. And I think he just knocked the wind out of him. Troy Brown was not too happy with him for trying to fix it. Is that what I couldn't tell if he got the wind knocked out of him or he rolled his ankle or whatever, but yeah, he walked off the field with the training staff. You're thinking, oh no, this is a guy that they might be counting on. But then he comes back in shortly after he had a really nice interception working against Christian wilkerson. It was one of those where, why can't why am I blanking on the route? Not a slant, but it's where you start to slant and then come back in. There's a little hit trap. Like a hit. It felt like more to hitch to me a hitch is like three steps slanting in. It was like he came from outside the numbers to between the ashes. I guess that's still a hit. I don't know. I haven't slept. Anyway, Christian Roberson was running a hitch in Jack Jones is on him in man and the throat was a little bit out in front of wilkerson. Like I think this was where I think the idea was that, you know, he's going to be able to kind of catch the ball as he turned and start running after the catch. But it was one of those ones where wilkerson and Jones both got to the spot at the exact same time, right? They both got the ball at the same time. Jones was trailing him a little bit. And just strong hands, strong hands from The Rookie. He got the ball. He threw the contact. He maintained control. I thought it was a great play. I thought it was kind of a high level play. It's a confidence interception. And then later in practice, too, forces the Nelson Aguilar fumble. So to start practice on the ground and walking off and then make those two big plays, I know we got beat a couple times, but it's a learning process. To start from getting hurt and then to be able to make those kind of plays, it's just, to me, and even to make those plays in the context of getting beat, you know, a few times, it shows he has a short memory. And I think that's massive. We know, you know, quarterbacks and cornerbacks. You have to have a short memory to succeed in this league, and that's, you know, something you don't necessarily see on tape. You can kind of guess, but at some you kind of got to see in person and we saw it. And so that was my big takeaway with him. I thought he showed you a short memory. He's got that fire. He's got that dog in him, right? That's the meme that's going around now with like the x-ray with the dog in the chest. Yeah. Like you'd say that. So yeah, I liked what I even though he got beat a couple times. I liked what I saw from yesterday, given he's a rookie and he's just coming into this. Yeah, he had some battles with Nelson Aguilar. I mean, Al Gore beat him on the go ball. It might have not been in balance. I would probably would have given it to him as a catch..

"But I just want to also hit on as an overarching theme here, Alex, I think there's so much concern about the coaching staff, right? And what mathematician and Joe judge are doing and all these things, but honestly, I came away from these two days feeling pretty good about the offense. And granted, these are passing camps and maybe they're a little bit skewed towards the offense, performing well and things like that. But I still came away from these two days and I said, okay, I see it with Mac. I think that they actually have some receivers now that can threaten defenses and be a problem and be match up issues. And I almost see it with the scheme too. I think the streamlining, I think some of the zone stuff that they are starting to incorporate more of. I kind of like what I'm seeing from the offense. I know that that's like a hot take because it's supposed to be a disaster and the whole building is supposed to be on fire because Matt Patricia and Joe judge are running the offense, but I see a path. Like, I see a plan here to have a pretty good offense. Honestly, if I have concerns, it's probably on the other side of the football, which will also get to in a few minutes. But where is your overall confidence level after two days of practice with the offense and what you saw out there? I like to receive a group. I don't know that I feel differently. I think I feel more confident in the belief I had going in that the receiver room is not the issue some people think it is. They don't have the true number one, but I think they're so deep that could play to their advantage. Yeah. My bigger concern is up front and we can't answer that. Like we can't answer that. They haven't been in pads, but once I say I went really going to look like it right tackle is Trent Brown going to laugh at left tackle. Coal strange still love him getting in scrums, love him setting the tone. I think that kind of makes him a great fit, but he's still a relative unknown. So the biggest issues for me are the and this isn't to say it's going to be a problem. I'm just saying, I don't know. You know, we kind of came into this off season thinking that the skill positions would be the big question mark. I feel really good about the skill positions right now. To me, the offensive line is a bigger question, Mark than the skill positions in the scheme thing. I'm still not in love with the Shanahan offense, especially if like I just said, you have all this depth. Shanahan offense doesn't facilitate taking advantage of that the way the Earhart Perkins does. So those are where my questions are right now. In terms of skill position players, I feel pretty good..

"Code CLS 50 that CLN S 5 zero to get the bonus and get into the action. Bet online where the game starts. So there was this play that Johnny Smith had against tight coverage. It was sort of an over route to the sideline and Mac just laid it out there and John Smith completely laid out leaped into the air full extension caught it brought it down. I forget who was, oh, it was Kyle Duggar. Johnny Smith immediately got up, pumped his fist like a big yell, all the guys were excited. It was something that I hadn't seen out of Johnny Smith before. You know, you could trust that to last year where you could basically see him thinking through the entire season from training camp on. Right. And if this is representative of, you know, I don't want to go overboard, you know, some reporters might say like, if this is any indication of what he can do this year, he's going to be like, look, it was one mini camp play. In June. But if this could be, you're hoping, if you're a patriots fan, you're hoping this is an indication that he has turned a corner and that he will be the 12 and a half $1 million tight end that they expected last year one year delayed. I think it's rather obvious that Belichick, one of his main priorities, this off season was to figure out John who. Because I think people look at him and he has all the intangibles and he has a lot of natural gifts on the field. And it did look like he was thinking it through way too much, way too often last year. We talked about it a lot on this podcast that he was kind of just thinking about everything. And again, when you think about what the Patriots are doing, right? They're getting rid of the full back position for all intents and purposes..

"I do wonder if he was maybe bench for a practice. You know, but a Belichick said that yesterday all the abscesses were excused. It wouldn't be the first time that Belichick sort of wasn't absolutely revealing to the media. So I'm not saying it's the case. I'm just wondering, you know, maybe build to teach Kendrick and some of the other newer guys that this is, this isn't the way we do things here. Maybe he was told to stay inside yesterday. And then he was back out there today, so I'm doing air guitar, you know, being as usual infectious self. It looks fine on the field, didn't stand out one way or the other, but good to have 84 back out there. He's one of those morale guys that you need on the field. Doing the Hollywood Hogan out there on the practice field. I'll say about born. It goes back to the Shanahan stuff. Let's not forget. Where was he before? He got to New England. Yep. And, you know, maybe that played a role. Maybe Belichick wanting to maybe move a little bit towards that offense and seeing how born fit in. Look, I am excited for Kendrick born this year. I am probably irrationally excited for Kendrick Bourne given that Devante Parker is now part of this team and, you know, he might not get as many looks or touches as I would hope. One thing that stood out to me, Greg, I want to ask you about born. I was reading our guy Mike Reese over the weekend. And he mentioned, you know, he's talking to born or whatever. And one of the things that born said, was that he was running, that the Patriots were using his running more. Could we see he's not the same size as deebo. He's not the same player, but could we see Kendrick Bourne getting some touches out of the backfield? Maybe even a little bit more than you might have thought, 'cause I thought some of that might have happened last year, but is that going to be more part of this offense?.

"And then Shanahan offense, I think he could play a role in that. And when you look at Pierre strong Pierre, Pierre strong, the running back the first guy they took, he's a one cut back, get up the field kind of guy, which would fit with the Shanahan system. So that's intriguing. It's also intriguing that it goes back to what I discussed with you. I think it was a week or two ago, Greg, just the idea that it seems like Belichick is doing what the hell Belichick wants to do. And look, he's got the benefit of the doubt. He has built the resume. But it really feels like he's kind of looked around and said, hey, if I've got a few more years on this thing, I'm going to do what I want to do. And so, you know, McDaniels and Brady and those guys might have gotten in my way of running more Shanahan offense. Well, they're gone now. I'm going to run some more Shanahan offense. That's what we're going to do. And it goes with the draft and what he did at the draft. And it goes with the coaching staff with Matt Patricia and Joe judge. This is Belichick. I've said it. He's taking risks. He's believing in himself and it's just going to be compelling to watch and whether all of this works because there is a significant amount of change, at least it feels that way. Will it happen or will they kind of go back to what they do once they tinker around here in mini camp? Maybe. But it feels like there's just a lot of sea change with the Patriots. And it's going to be very interesting to watch, and it's really Belichick standing front in line saying, nope, my team, this is what we're doing. I'm doing things that I've wanted to do the past couple of years and we haven't done it because who was here. And now it's just me. So let's go. That's at least how it looks. Let's talk about Patricia. Let's talk about judge. Again, play calling. A big topic with this football team right now. Patricia gang called plays in 11 on 11, Greg, Joe judge, was doing it for the 7s again..

"Like the warriors are just building a wall packing in the paint when Jayson Tatum and jaylen Brown put the ball on the court and tried to drive to the hoop. And they got to reestablish that spacing that they had in game one. The big reason why that fourth quarter why they went off in game one is because they were driving kicking right there penetrating and then they were leaving Al Horford and smart and Derek white wide open for these three pointers. They got to get back to playing that type of basketball and I think that maybe they have a pretty good chance in this series, but look, if Andrew Wiggins and Otto Porter and Jordan Poole beat you, then I think, you know, so you got to take your chances there. You just got to take your chances. I think the Celtics are as in good a shape as you could possibly be in an NBA Finals. It's not going to be easy. You don't get to this round and have it be a cake walk. So we'll see what ends up happening with Boston big game tomorrow night. That's kind of the series, right? The winner of a game three to one one series. More times than not, I'm sure the math tells you that the winner of game three in that situation ends up going on to win the series with a vast majority of the time. So big game tomorrow night for the Celtics, the Red Sox are still on the West Coast, right? They're still an angels. They're back to 500 now. They're kind of moving a little bit. Michael walker throwing a complete game, one run last night. You know, Sarah, you all about high and blue and we found Michael waka. That's a check in his box. That's a positive in his box. Yeah, so it is what the a's and the angels back to back or two of the worst teams in baseball right now, right? I think the angels have lost like 12 in a row. The angels were good and then they right, they're on they're on a 12 game loser. They just fired their manager. Today, by the way, the modern king of analytics, Joe Maddon, not cutting it. I wonder why that is. Has the two best players in baseball still can't win..

That i missed was that a facsimile of mike brown on the bench all season long. What what are we talking about. The warriors have been out for like two months kris k. Okay so two months. that's what matters. That's that's the number three three practices. Also they're still missing. I believe at least three guys because they're playing in the finals right now. Booker middleton chris paul get it. Yes not chris. Ball's not playing a holiday with the the what holland is your holiday. Those those guys will matter especially given that middleton and holiday are to the better perimeter defenders that that team. Usa has and if you look at the rest of team usa's roster. I don't see a ton of great defenders. There there are a few. I think those three guys by the way are going to be exhausted by the time they get to. They may well be. They may will be so. We're going to judge them. Judging when their whole judge when the games matter to strange to me like we don't judge nba teams based on the preseason but we judge team usa based on these exhibition games. That they do going into international competition. I feel like it's thirty. One point favorites. Why why is there betting line on a freaking exhibition better training but a little league baseball. Now country degenerates damn right. I didn't mean chris i'm with. Let's go monday. Nigeria money line. I just. I can't get too excited about this. If they lose the rest of the exhibitions does that mean something. Yeah that might be alarming if they're if they're still struggling to find some cohesion. That could be alarming. But i mean the talent is obviously their talent alone doesn't win on the international stage in style of game is different team ball matters. Shooting matters like yeah. There's a bunch of budget stuff that comes into play. But i i find the panic over this loss or at least the outcry to be a little bit much. So you don't take into account the seventh-place finish in two thousand nineteen. I mean that to me. It's the it's not just as game. The totality of it right. Like and i don't know howard like so in the early two thousands the world kind of caught up to the us ninety to ninety six thousand us. Gold maps then comes the two thousand two world championships in indianapolis and that's seven. The place finish was one of the worst worst outcomes in at least recent usa history. They got it together after that. They hired jerry colangelo. They bringing mike chef ski. They get their act together. Two thousand six two thousand eight then. They run off. Three consecutive years are three consecutive cycles of gold. Medals is argon. Made that like the world's caught up again that somewhere along the way and the last four or five years. The rest of the world has once again caught up usa basketball. I'm trying to understand this. I mean that's close games in those olympics cycles. No question about it. But i can't imagine the oh eight. Twelve or sixteen team losing nigeria. I can't exhibition or otherwise. I can't see it happening. No team and the and the one that followed it were built around like lebron koby. Carmelo enjoying wait. I mean that that groups at another level like as good as this group is that we're seeing right now as talented as they are after k. D. tatum's really good damian. Lillard is great. I mean come arbit- tatum. Bill lillard auto bio levin. Draymond dream ends up there in years but one has won some things. Jeremy grant jeremy grant zach living out of like. These are guys who have done anything in the nba yet. But they're all stars most they're they're also but are they to level of lebron kobe now but do you think is that what you're saying then is that what you're saying to be at the level you need to have like i'm saying the crop to win. I'm saying that if we're going to start comparing the twenty twenty one team to the twenty eight a two thousand eight two thousand twelve teams there is. There is not an equivalent right now. Lebron kobe laurent cobaine weight. And plus what we what. We called olympic. Mellow like carmelo. Didn't have the success in the nba. That some of his teammates did but carmelo in terms of talent level and certainly has resume like that group was at a whole other level. That group is a different level than jason. Tatum bam outta bios. Zach levine. Okay so not saying that you necessarily should have to have that level of time firepower to win an exhibition game against nigeria. Or anybody else. But i am saying comparing usa to itself different iterations of team usa. This one is not that one. This is not as dominant group as the ones we saw in eight and two thousand twelve. It just isn't what do you do like. What's the solution here. Like i mean i jerry. Colangelo deserves an enormous amount of credit for rebuilding that program when it was at. Its nadir mitra chefs. He comes in enormous amount of credit for what they did. But as we sit here in twenty twenty one like it's almost to me howard like the usa basketball rebuilding. The program became cool. Like lebron wanted to do it. Chris paul like dwayne wade. These guys wanted to do it and then they did it. And i think playing for usa basketball didn't become quite as cool as it was fifteen years ago. Like is that what has to happen like does not need to have like a fifth place finish in tokyo for all of a sudden the next generation of a-list stars wherever that may be in two thousand twenty four to come back into the mix and is that the only way this team can win. I mean i think we need to pay attention to the overall context like obviously one. These olympics were supposed to happen a year ago. They're delayed a year because of covid got durant out of it though like that right. It's questionable whether these the olympic should be happening at all still but along the way because of these back to back brutal seasons and everything else like team. Usa doesn't have james harden right now. Doesn't have anthony davis because of the injury doesn't have steph curry doesn't have kyrie irving doesn't have lebron kawai again. If your argument is that the second or third tier it sounds like sounds like insulting. Somehow but if you're saying that the next wave believe after those guys should still be good enough to dominate on the world stage. Maybe but if the point is that the team as best are they still. Are they still able to win. Gold fairly easily. Your probably but a bunch of them aren't on this team right now because of injuries and just the stress of the last year or two so this this is not necessarily representative of the best of the best right now. It just isn't and yes. They should still be good enough to win. Yes the world has caught up to some extent. No the the group that at nigeria's put it put out there last week. Does not leap off the page improbably. Us should've still want it. But again i exhibition game after like three practices. Let's see what happens with the rest of this. This schedule out brought mellow back. I mean he's not what he was four years ago. Eight years ago twelve years ago but the guy knows how to play international basketball. He might have sat. maybe. I guess. I didn't really. I assume that he just want to keep. He didn't kind of like four formerly re retire from the olympics. But it'd be pretty much says like i'm done like lebron kinda did to get talked into it. I feel like. I don't know if i was if i was the usa team would try really hard to get carmelo blake because his style. Whatever it is to the nba is perfect for the national basketball. He's a really good or national basketball player. On this subject damian lillard. He spoke for the first time. Since the hiring of chauncey billips. Only listen to what little had to say about his future in portland. I'm prepared to go in and do my job every year. Like hopefully we make strides over direction and could become a better team a new coach notice. That's where i am. What soured it sounds like. Lillard is at least nominally on board with going back to the blazers. But if i'm a team out there with assets. I don't listen to that response and say well it's over damian. Lillard is back on the same page with the portland trailblazers. If i'm a team with assets i hold onto those assets because it feels to me like the blazers might be one like sixteen to start from blowing that whole thing up with louis mccollum on the way out the door so get the sense now. That seems more likely than not that damian lillard at blazers training camp. He's in ablaze uniform. He starts the season with the portland trailblazers. But if it doesn't work with chauncey billips early and you get close that trade deadline. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see portland decide. Look we've got a. We've got to do something here and opened the door for damian lillard trade. What do you think. I think that nothing has changed. I think that his remarks last week because he sounded a little bit lukewarm. Or just you know you hear one of two things. Well you want to hear one thing if you're a portland trail blazers fan or if you're just looking for any indication that lillard is all in your you want to hear him say listen. I know things are rough right now. But i'm all in you know this is. This is where. I want to be you to repeat all the usual talking points that you hear from players in his position and that we've heard from bradley beal that we used to hear from james harden houston. Which is a win in phil in city fill in the blank with the city. I want to win here. I don't wanna go somewhere else. You know we're going to get this right blah blah. He didn't go down the usual list. And so i think it left open. Some interpretation but getting has changed like the disappointment was clear when the season ended. Some of the things have happened since including obviously the the the train wreck away they went about the the coaching search and lillard. Being caught in the crossfire. There at feeling heat from fans about chauncey billips being selected and so. I don't think we should expect he's going to be rah. Rah right now The trailblazers have a lot of work to do. But we also have not even hit the summer yet. Like there's the draft hasn't happened yet. Free agency hasn't happened yet. There's there's a lot of work to be done. And i think if you're damian lillard which you're probably doing is internally saying here's what i need to see happen externally saying you know what let's let's wait and see i mean you see. He can't he can't say publicly the same things that he's telling say neal o'shea right about what the the state of the roster i i would think that there are some very impassioned debates or discussions being held behind closed doors about what they need to get this thing right and if they can't get it right the he might shift is his stance about staying there long term. But that hasn't happened yet that we know of. What do you think the most interesting potential conversation is amongst players over these next four weeks like i'm kind of curious what jason tatum bradley beal talk about. Tatum and beal close friends dating back to their highschool days both went to the same high school bill with something of a mentor to jason. Tatum actually got him involved with his trainer. Drew hanlin which helped. Tatum elevate his his personal skills and they've talked about how happy they are to be playing together. Played the all star game together for the first time beal last year of his contract. Like you know we've seen these conversations yield real tangible conversation. You'd like to be a fly on the wall on for any of these guys in the next couple of weeks. Yeah i mean look we. We have a history now going back over a decade. If we're to believe that the that the heels were formed in part through team usa activities. You know which is true which is true. That's that's yielded an extra things guy. You know guys who you mentioned. Tatum and bill because they were already friends but guys also become friends through this experience right and then they start getting the ideas about playing together. Like oh hey. This is a lot of fun. Let's do this again in the nba. So there's i'm i'm sure some of that is is happening. It always does. Who else in that group. I mean man. If any of these guys that'd be trying to recruit bam out a bio but he's too early in his in his contract with miami to pry him loose from there And you know the heater still a pretty potent team but you know jimmy butler is up there in miles and outta bios future won't necessarily be there forever. That's the way it goes in the nba. I think tatum has the potential to be like the biggest recruiter. They're like he's about to start the first year of his max level extension. He can recruit bill. But like you can also does damian lillard like. It's great to play in boston. I love it here. Answer some questions of my have a playing on the east coast for the first time. Like i think data might be boston's best asset at this point. Yeah again some of this comes down to bradley. Beal's coming up to that point where he has the leverage to task out because of his contract lillard under contract for several more years and so he's not in that position. So what if it says. Like i need to go like. I don't foresee the blazers being no finish your contract. Just don't see it. i think right. And they would work with him on a deal to sure but directing it is harder so beal can use the leverage of his free agency to say well if you send me to team x. I'm not gonna resign there. Which then blows up that deal and he can direct himself to the team he really wants to be at lillard would have a harder time to doing that. Because he doesn't have free agency looming two to play that card. Yeah well i encourage any reporter. That's in tokyo tatum. Beal and lillard talking to each other. Just take a picture and then let the internet go wild crazy because it will unquestionably last thing for you. Howard the breaking news. This week in the coaching ranks. Is that jamal moseley is headed to orlando moseley of course last with dallas. A really well respected assistant coach there. Who was a candidate for that. Maverick job before. It went to jason kidd my immediate reaction to that higher howard beyond i think being an excellent choice for orlando is that we're gonna look at at moseley and jason kidd on parallel tracks. The next couple of years moseley. There was a strong case to be made that he should have been elevated to that head. Coaching job he'd been considered for other head coaching jobs. Before most recently in new york he had by all accounts a great relationship with luka doncic i understand bringing kit in he's got a history with dallas and as riccar lau said publicly having a player that played the game like kid and having a player that plays the game like don-shik make some sense to pair those two guys together. But there's always going to be as i watched these two situations unfold. I'm gonna wonder you know. Did the mavericks make the right choice. Leading jamaa moseley go and bringing jason kidd in and there's so many variables in this the first being at orlando's in step one or maybe even steps zero of a massive rebuild right there in the negatives right now. I think there's still maybe more fat to trim on that roster before they really bottom out. Yeah and you know you talk about trying to build around. You know markelle foltz. And and jonathan isaac jonathan isaac for so long. They're getting hurt and he's a great player but they've loved writing in a weird way john stays healthy. He's still more of a complementary store right like he's he's a potentially defensive player of the year at some point. He's not a guy who you're building an offense around though and marquel foltz okay. He he got himself back on track in orlando. He has a career now where he didn't have one but he's not a foundational building block. Come on like that's crazy so the roster doesn't have much talent jamal. Moseley's is coming into a situation. Which a lot of first time head coach is committed to which is all right. There's a lot of work to do so You're gonna have to do a lot of development. You're going to have to take a lotta lumps in the win loss column. It's gonna be rough going for the first year or two or maybe three. Let's see how they can get things going. But you know as it has been a certain other like kenny. Atkinson came to look a completely hopeless situation in brooklyn but was known as development coach in atlanta. And sure enough. Everybody who went there. Joe harris spencer. Dinwiddie jared allen versus lower. First round picks. Guys who were you know whether they were reclamation projects whether they were low picks everybody seems to get better the second they went to brooklyn and play kenny atkinson and his staff congenial. Moseley have the kind of effect in orlando can the front office. Get him to kind of guys. That will thrive in that in that kind of environment and carve out careers from cells and carbon identities. Jamal moseley has a lot going for him. And we've heard like many great things about it but we often hear great things about assistant coaches who don't end up panning out so i always. We have to caution ourselves on these things. Because i thought. Brian shaw was gonna be a great head coach and he was. Everybody loved him all the players sung as praises when he was associate head coach under frank. Vogel indiana he goes to denver probably just the wrong guy at the wrong time but he hasn't had another shot since then but that went really badly. Brett brown was really great in in some respects for the for the early years of the process and then suddenly. It seemed like they'd hit some sort of ceiling. Eager kokoschka of had been talked about for years is a great assistant. Coach didn't work out. Swells head coach in phoenix. David dale bumpy ride in memphis and then disastrous in new york. We just don't know like luke walton. Another example like there are plenty of coaches who as their when their assistance. We hear and see the best of them and then you know some of them be go on it and have great success coaches. I mean tyler has been fantastic. Mike malone has been fantastic money williams. Nick nurse dwayne casey a lotta longtime assistance. Get their shot and then you know it. It works out in a dozen. It's all contextual. It's all just the opportunity you have the thing for dallas is. They went with a guy who has experienced jason kit. That experience was not necessarily good experience. Like i think most people around the would look at what he did in milwaukee in brooklyn and say. I'm going to steer clear. Maybe you'd rather have the the unproven. Jamal moseley versus the somewhat proven jason kidd but. I don't think we'll know what the right choice was there for a while yet. Because it's it's gonna take some time before we can evaluate moseley as head coach. I maybe jason kidd learned something in two years as an assistant. I mean that happens. You know working with lebron for entire for two entire seasons working under frank vogel maybe picked up some things that'll be useful to him as a head coach. Moseley to me. The key is giving him time. Like you've got to be committed to moseley for a minimum. I think of three years and more likely five years. And then you see what you have in head coach. You mentioned gore. I mean it's worked out for phoenix. Absolutely but i do think he got hosed out there i mean he only had one year on the job and that year was without deandra aiden chris. Paul had devon booker of course but that was not a good team that he was coaching. There i gotta get moses the because you want to see what the guy can do when you put that team in a position to win a great example to me is james breglio in charlotte. I mean berea. Was one of those guys assistant coach elevated to head coaching position in charlotte. Not great first couple of years there but when he was given players and chance to win he did pretty well. I mean up until lamelo ball went out the horns were really good team and i think they will be a good team. Going forward in part because of the borrego is a pretty good coach. I want to see this magic team. Invest heavily in jamal. The you're the guy developed these guys and we'll keep you around no matter what the won loss record says until you get a chance to win then you judge like brett brown six or seven days since brett brown left but i can see the for letting go of brett brown. I mean they had a talented team and to a degree the underachieved. But you've got to let the coach get a roster on that level before you really make any decisions about whether they can coach. Yeah well and that's the thing about. This is what set up says apart. I think the good organizations from the bad ones is that you you decide when you choose a guy. Especially if he's a longtime assistant not a guy with head coaching experience. And you've said we believe in this guy. This is somebody who's got a great trekker record as an assistant. We're going to first opportunity. It's your obligation to when you say investment. Yeah it's time investment. It's a give them all the tools to succeed. Give him the time to succeed. You've decided you believe in him. So stand behind that have the conviction to stand behind that and take some bumps along the way you know maybe maybe memphis and or the knicks should have stuck with david physed longer. You know we had heard nothing but great things about fiscal coming out of miami. Initially we may yet you know. Find out that he. He can be great head coach in the right situation. Maybe those worth rights situations. He might be one of those guys though. I love physios and assist one of those guys. Though the just the temperament is always important. Like the government like memphis yet. Some battles with market assault didn't work out your plus new york. You just might be one of those guys that doesn't have the right temperament to be is based on what we've seen a memphis in new york might be better suited for these ranks but if he succeeds in l. a. I think he'll get another chance right. Maybe i think the point being though that if you as an organization have identified a guy instead he we believe in him then. Okay then believe in him. Stick with them and make sure you've given them enough tools to succeed Is it a pulling the plug at the first sign of of struggle and that's what happens in the nba. too often. is that seems panic. You know the fans turn. There's some minor flare up. Oh the coach and player got into it. Whatever it may good teams that can happen on as well. And it's it's just. It's the way franchises. React so you have to know whether or not the guy is is is right and then stick with them. And so yeah. Let's jomo's should get a nice long here. She got a ton of latitude in orlando given where they are as an organization given the state of that roster. Yeah i agree. Howard enjoy milwaukee looking forward to hearing the conversation with the lazarus on friday. You can check podcast. Right here on the crossover feet again. Make sure you listen to howard's interview. Spencer dinwiddie from last week. It was really really strong. Enjoy -joy the mid west our. We'll talk when you're back on the northeast always a pleasure. My friend the newest player in the pre nba basketball landscape is overtime. Elite elite will begin playing sometime in the fall. And we'll be headlined by some of the top now. Former high school players in the country players would be paid minimum one hundred thousand dollars with some making north of that and have access to high level facilities training as well as educational programs to help. Get a better grasp on that. I'm joined by brandon williams the head of basketball operations for overtime. Elite and kevin ollie the former. Nba guard uconn. Coach was the head coach and director of player development bread. And i want to start here with you. Just kind of give me the ten thousand foot view overtime elite. What are the objectives. What what what was behind the formation of this league. I think any of us. Chris who've been around for a long time i've actually seen Sort of the downside of young players who entered into professional ranks to this point. It's been the nba Who are not ready. And so what does that mean you know not not ready to form and be stars or is it just not ready to be great teammates or is it not ready to be good partners. is sort of all that you know the idea that the work day is much longer than they know. And that there's more responsibility to be in a professional athlete The responsibilities to families and communities we just have to do a better job preparing them and here was an opportunity to be part of a program that wanted to address all that. It's not just about being a good player. It's like we wanna address the whole athlete. Hope so on. Three levels were hitting basketball. Easiest thing understand. I think businesses in our world is education And then there's brand you know. These young people now are moving at a speed that we aren't as older folks and they want to build things An earlier age particularly off the court so building a brand is important something that can last well beyond their tread on tire so we're hitting it in basketball business brand. That's that's that's really thirty thousand foot view. Kevin what attracted you to this job. Just like his dad is the whole person being able coach them from a mind body and soul Experience and understanding the mindfulness athlete I've seen it from a pro level. Got up tune into play thirteen years with twelve different teams so i understand like the different trials and tribulations you go through with a player not saying that these players are gonna go through that but is getting them more prepared if they do come into some certain situations where it's not typically going the right way. How can they manage that situation. So what they do today can echo into tomorrow and having the ability to kana paint on a black blank. Canvas is what a really attracted to me to to this you know. Ot league program we can take the player really shape the curriculum you not with teaching them about subjects. But we're really teaching them about themselves as well from media training From mental health issues. All the different things that come involved because we all know chris is stress. You know from success is a lot of pressures is a lot of people pulling at you. It's a lot of people won't certain things. But how do you deal with that from a player's standpoint where you can play when you get on the basketball court and half clear and not be caught up in the distractions of off the court issues. Um as desks desks were really kind of vocal. Spirit to give back in it and how these kids you know. Have these players be available at the moment of truth to make the right decisions and that was very important to me. Kevin as you mentioned you played in the nba brand. You played in the nba. As well i wanna ask both of you guys and kevin. I'll start with you like if this was available to you as sixteen. seventeen year. Old looking back. Would you have founded attractive with a definitely founded attractive You know i kind of thought the box anyway. I was from chris. Shaw from from from south central and i chose connecticut. So you places that. I didn't even know nothing about growing up. You always thought out the box and never wanted to go down a path that everybody was going down So i was always curious. And i think that's how my mom especially my mom. My dad raised me. So i definitely been curious of this situation. No no speaking now without you know took it. I'm not sure. But i think it really gave me another option to look at it and this is what we're trying to do not saying that the ncaa is wrong overtime. Leaders wrong or right. It's not about that. It's about if you really care about the student. Athletes you give them as much options as possible. And i think this gives the lee student athlete. Another option and i think you know it's a very Great option for them to have and if they choose overtime league we're going to give our whole heart to make sure they're developed on and off the basketball court chris i- jumping after coach It would have been interesting. Chris but i certainly would not have been a candidate i would. Let's just get that right. What what things that's important. We sit down going through just grassroots community and we spent months just talking to people educating about. You know what we're about who we are. Each of us has a reputation in some other space. Not here The this program isn't for everybody is not the right fit for everybody. We are cherry picking and a lot of ways. These are players that feel like they are destined for professional basketball. There are a lot of sixteen year olds. That don't know that yet and their parents aren't convinced that yet in people that support them. Don't don't feel that confidence yet. They may be another year away or two years away but this is not. This is not the right path for everyone. Twenty four athletes roughly twelve per class. We're looking at juniors and seniors and the truth is at this age. What was really funny about scouting them is everybody's skinny and like a lanky and underdeveloped and still has like a mountain of upside to you know to to get through before you can really see who they're going to be but you know if you have a young player like brand williams who's just dreaming of being an nba player but does not much certainty. That's even realistic We gotta be very careful about this approach In taking because there there are risks but for those that that have already established in this deke. They've established a day of separated from their class. You know jaylen. Lewis has an example the most recent example. He's he's he's elevated in separate. The draft isn't tomorrow though so there's still a lot of work to do but he's already in front running physician and it gives everyone low confidence that this is the kind of investment and the kind of pet that would make a ton of sense for players like that. Let me follow up on that brandon. Because you're you're entering. What suddenly become a fairly crowded space in terms of leagues like this. You know the g. league ignite is one season in but they've had a measure of success. We've seen jalen green probably a top pick. Jonathan kamenga top five or six. Then you have the ncw with this. Recent ruling allowing top players to make money off their name image and likeness. How does how does the elite separate itself from that group. Why think i is. We start a little bit sooner so the g. league zone a great job with what we call it a year the prep year that year. That a recent graduates would be going to college and they've already been hacking the system you know going to italy or china So so there's a market for those players and we want an alternative to college for for for us though. Our players are seeking an alternative to high school so we are a school but we think about the resources that were bringing to the table first of which being an nba like environment You know start coach. Ali coach lehto in a robust set of staff. I mean scouting staff a high performance staff administrative team. Our goal was to simulate an nba organization for for young athletes at sixteen seventeen eighteen. Th there there is no other environment. Like that. And i think the big way that we separate with high school athletes Is that both domestically and internationally. We're able to put twenty four of them together in a building. So what we're selling is the best competition for these guys starts at home. I mean every day in line coaches don't minister drills administer competition aspects of practice and getting ready for games but when you look to the right and left and i noticed as a player. There's no weak link. I mean everywhere you look. There's somebody that's doing what you're doing and possibly doing more. Because they they are not just dreamed about the into the league or to the high level. They're on their way there That's where we've been able to. I think create a little separation from others that have tried or looked at something. Like this kevin. How do you approach this job. Do you do it in a similar mindset and you had at uconn where you have young players you also you know yukon. You had to keep them academically eligible you to follow that pretty closely. I mean is there is it a similar mindset or do you take a different tact. I think you just let it be you know. Similar is not. It's just whatever comes you say yes to it and you cultivate hope from it I never coached high school players. They was always you know graduated from high school. And now they're freshman's This situation is a little different in in was recruiting for two to three years. This situation is a little different. But you know from me. Chris i love the unknown about it. And that's the space i live in. Not just wanna make sure that. I have the space incorporate something in these players that they can just think about it can build from a have a foundation so when they make the transition they have every tool in the toolbox to say okay. Oh that's a problem Assess it let me be able to correct it. Let me obsessed. Let me be aware of it and i think that's the difference between you know coaching a high school kid in in the college. Kid i mean you get able to mold them a little bit better and then you have to understand where they at. Now you know back then. I didn't have social media. We didn't have social media now. These kids these players are building their brand a little bit earlier and now you just meet them where they are. And i can't wait to get them up on campus get them up until atlanta just continue to build a great relationship. Welcome spend time with the one on one in. This situation is going to provide us to do a lot more skill development that i didn't have a really good opportunity and it had not one say good opportunity. I didn't have the best opportunity. Because there's so many things we own a row recruiting You own a row fundraising these different things. Brandon's taken care of in. Dan porter is taken care of. I can just really coach the player and work on his skill development on and off the basketball court. So it's really given me my own lane. So i can really perform my job. Mama job is really breaking down and relationships it starts. Relationship is start with trust. Stars will hold is spending time with the the young student athletes on and off the basketball court and pushed them to greatness and the competition is not on. our side of competition is with him. You know can you beat your previous best bestself. Can you be better than today you know. Can you be better tomorrow than you were date. And that's what i'm coaching. And that's what i love to do. And i think we're going to have some great young man as open as biden has going to be vulnerable going to try to reach for the sky. In the sky is going to be ob- you is not going to be limits. I can't wait to get up to atlanta. We've been having some many camps. Chris has been wonderful to get back on the court with the guys. And i'm looking forward to the next mini camp and dan looking forward to getting them up to atlanta. So we really can go to work. You know when. I was was talking to brian. shaw a couple of months ago. Kevin about how he was coaching. The ignite you know it was a lot of pro stop. He was trying to bring to that team. Are you taking that same. Approach you trying to coach them like their nba players or something different. No it's nothing different is just. I'm building pro. Habits in every situation is going to be different. Chris this is going to be some guys. Come in you know. Say for instance like a. John montero will we got him and he you know is a little bit more advanced than some other players because he's been a pro- already and then it's going to be another situation where we gotta talented guy might not be able to get quick but these opportunities we can go at our own pace we can sit down and talk to them but we're really teaching and building pro habits and those habits is going to translate over to them being great pros when that opportunity come invest in the nba are the euro league so every day you know we are building like a practice plan like more of a college practice plan nba practice bandwidth doing drills. That i got from my numerous stops in the nba. You know we're doing sets in the nba. Then we gotta understand that sixteen years old as well you know and maybe sometimes you gotta you know kinda doubt it down a little bit. But i'm gonna let com. I'm going to let that go. i'm not going to focus on one of it. I'm not gonna say oh. We're doing this process. Each and every day every day is different. And that's what i love about the unknown. And i'm gonna treat it like that and we just gonna continue to bill because i think we got great mas and organization that really want to coach the whole person. And that's what i'm really excited about. You decided to upgrade your outdoor deck. So you ordered the essentials. Power washer said a patio chairs and a shiny new grill. And you use your bank of america. Customized cash rewards credit card choosing to earn three percent cashback online shopping and up to five point. Two five percent preferred rewards member which you put toward your most essential deck addition a bird feeder of yours at bank of america dot com slash more rewarding copyright two thousand twenty one bank of america corporation support for this podcast comes from invent together according to studies less than thirteen percent of all inventors who hold a us patent are women black and hispanic college graduates patent at half the rate of their white counterparts. But we can fix that by increasing participation innovation and patenting by underrepresented groups. It would quadruple. The number of american inventors and increase annual gdp by almost one trillion dollars. Invent together is a coalition of organizations companies. Universities and concerned citizens committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to invent and patent because the more diverse. The american patent system gets the stronger and more successful. our nation will become. What can you do to help. Divers inventors patent and unleash economic opportunity. Find out at invent together dot org learn more and take action today brandon not to continue to compare this team to the ignite but when i talked to sharieff abderrahim about that i mean. I had asked him about the sustainability of that team. Given how much. Money was being poured in to pay some of the players. And he bobbed and weaved floyd mayweather trying to answer that question. Because it's it's hard to commit to it without say a television contract more sponsorships and things like that when you can you speak to kind of the sustainability of this because we've seen startups with an influx of cash. Get get in big the first year. But then peter out. I mean what needs to happen. Four overtime elite to become a long term successful program while has got to answers. I think you know a concept. I mean we're we're selling on the ability to develop young players and have a more more pro ready right. So this is. This is the path we are offering basketball development. Call it professional Business development And we are also like leveraging. What is an incredible media platform that again. The things that we like to call a distinguishing factors. That's a huge one. So not to bob and weave one. We gotta be good ass. You know that. That's how have long deputy spurs the spurs. They were good for really long time. And so we've got the that there were good at this note. No pressure on kale right The the the second piece though is you know and this comes from my my time in the nba. It just wasn't that long ago where it out of chicago. Pre-draft combine interview. If i said. I wanna build my brand. Everybody in the room was like smirking and like you know what. What are we talking about like. It's about basketball basketball basketball And you know if you are young team developing and not winning a lot of games truth is you can't sell just basketball because your basketball isn't great you got to sell personalities and stories in that there's something that people can invest in in fall in love with other than like the final score like otherwise. The sixers had no chance right any any development team yet to buy into a story and for us. I think we have a chance to create stories but we get a chance to show those stories because we have a platform. So it's it doesn't take much. I mean i'm not a social media guru. But when i got recruited for this job haven't been around the block a little bit certainly from an nba perspective. I heard a couple of things. I really got my attention. One was fifty million followers That's eyeballs and we all know that that Business follows the eyeballs in whatever in whatever respect. The other was which is unfair. Because i think that number changes month over month but it started at one point four and not set maybe one point eight or one point nine billion with a b. billion views of content a month that overtime in some ways has found a way to the heart. The mind of young people It is being communicated and solid as you know the generation z. sort media and content engine We are doing an amazing thing here which is developing young talent in a pure way that we want to make sure that they are prepared. Top to bottom to do well on the court to do well and communities to do well in business but then there's this other thing which is they want to be known like. No player wants to play in an empty building. Everybody wants to play where it matters. They wanna play. When nick can rock and like the building and just like recognizing their talent. We're just artists. And one thing that is kind of showcase. By one event that that overtime overtime the media company producing s called. You see it on youtube to. Is that over. Hundred million people watched that. I mean that that's not an insignificant number that players that are going to play overtime. Lee will have the opportunity to be known The the opportunity of bring brick big brands to the table and support this platform If not already indicated by the kinds of investors that that have shown interest but the brands that are coming to the table our sustainability is going to be showing value delivering value to not just the athletes but to overtime visibility. I would imagine great for them but can you monetize it. Can you make it so this league is in the black or does it need to be in the black every year. Well my the good news is as a basketball man. No different than a different than the is Get a budget. My job is to be fishing and and spend wisely. I i'm not. I'm not asked to sell tickets or generate revenue that's for a tremendous And in successful a business operations Our job is to make sure that what we are delivering is high is a high level product That you see the growth and development of our young players. What's there recruited. We gotta make them better. They need to be able to perform and probably the best testament of our success is going to be our nba. Gm voting with this pick right but with a coach saying like they did a nice job. This guy was. Well coached testament to takeo and the rest of the coaching staff. That if we're doing that will prove successful. Because guess what the next crop of recruits when we're in the gym like we're not chasing them. There's sort of meeting us at at minimum half way. We need to keep bringing high level taliban and developing talent to prove successful and i have a tremendous set of partners across academics and across content media. That will will do their part to elevate our business. Can you expecting to tap into some of your. nba relationships. I mean as you mentioned thirteen teams in twelve seasons. You've made a lot of friends over the years. We're going to see like san preston sitting in the crowd for your practices as a whole so sam and so many gyms that i know you know Kevin durant and all these guys are destinies in overtime. Just having them be around. We had our first minicamp. Ray allen showed up and not only showed up. He brought his son to work out with guys. Just it was just amazing. does just see how the branches that we can continue to pull up on and they continue to pull on us and be a partnership in. This thing is going to be great. Are you expecting to have kind of drop ins. Durant's involved with the league. You expecting these guys. Just be around. Which i would imagine would be both a resource for you but also an attractive quality to this league definitely. Definitely we going to build a place where it's going to be hopefully a development premier development destination for everybody and you know hopefully katie can come out and work out with guys and russell westbrook and james harden and all these guys that we know and i know i had opportunity to be evolved. Then it's kinda beat a veteran guys We want them to be around. Because it's not. Just me sean. It's also watching tape like these are the different drills and look how k. d. and look how chris paul is using the pick and rolls and now they're showing up that's a that's a big big bang for us with us growing these young talented student athletes To get them inspired to the next level and they're doing a great job done only gonna do. I coached him. Chris a coach me on a day to day basis. I'm open to that and we just really want to have a love affair with guys and and the end of the day chris. We want appease the basketball guys. We wanna play the right way. We want to share a basketball. We wanna run. We wanna have fun. We want how to join the game but it can't just be me me me. It has to be weak. And i'm wanting to teach guys how to be involved in any system they get drafted about. They can be a part of a productive system and be a productive partner in in the community as well no matter what city they when they arrive to the nba brandon. Before let you go. What schedule gonna look like i mean is this team playing. Just walk me through kind of what these kids are getting into. And what kind of schedule you gonna be able to put together so schedule that that is really interesting for everybody. And i wanna try to illuminate. But i've got to be careful we are still contracting with some teams But for the audience the think about it in buckets. We're gonna play independent prep schools. That's going to be a significant part of our schedule. We are a high school so we are looking to schedule. Some of the top independence that you would typically no to have a national schedule can travel that have the ability to be mobile. We're scheduling home and away with with With those folks and it looks like net set as an example It looks like you know. Folks that are playing for a national title Arizona florida california. So it'll be a widespread travel schedule for us. We're also looking at European competition so think about junior euroleague as an example. Some of the best clubs the Insects as an example Where we can get a collection of sixteen to nineteen year old elite talent to compete against us. And then as i mentioned earlier on the show we really feel like the best competition is gonna come internally and that's where our league play Comes into effect so we are looking at our group of twenty four as three teams of eight. There will be standings you'll be able to track will compete against each other. That'll be a significant part of our schedule as well. We don't want to overstep our guys one of the things. We really wanna correct leading science. Guide us here. is is minimized the wear and tear. Nobody's while still developing and preparing for a professional level place so a schedule of maybe thirty five. To forty games is our target. We started september Training camp will will begin Play by mid august. We'll be done by by Late march is how we see our schedule shaping up i'm looking forward to it brennan kevin. It's a really interesting concept and hope you guys have a lot of success with an. I'll certainly be watching a lot of. Nba people will be watching but brandon. Stay out of a set of massachusetts. Kevin has like some basketball. Ptsd from all those bc. Matchups i'm sure would probably were so tough. I don't remember kevin. It's not real like talk about it. But lita past. We'd be six thousand. That's not very nice. That's hovering kevin brand. Thanks for joining me. I appreciate it all right. Thank you chris. Thanks so much.
"minicamp" Discussed on Around the NFL
"And gilmore wasn't quite as good last year when he was out the and then he had a pretty serious injury. So he's he's a little bit of a question mark in general but i just can't imagine they would they would trade him because you're not going to get like another good veteran and returned only draft picks would would be what people would send for in two thousand nine linebacker daily. Thomas told the espn. He showed up nine minutes late for a team meeting after snowfall nearly caused them to get into an accident on the way to the facility. Bell check sent him home. Guys like shaking be almost gum. Yeah he'll trying to get football practice and he gets sent back in the car. It's funny because they're kind of similar to of if not the two biggest free agent contracts the patriots have ever signed and daily. Thomas was a total bust and gilmore yes. He's twenty four in base salary this year but that stuff is always a little misleading because when he signed the contract it was a blue the zoff for cornerback contracts and everyone was like i can't believe they're signing someone to the number one cornerback contract in the league since then it's been totally past. He's gotten that signing bonus money. That's why you just sprinkle a little money belt accepts. Stop sweating the small stuff. You're out you're on your boat and you know this doesn't sound that's what i'm saying. Sprinkle them a few million. And hopefully this'll go away by the way over. The pierre is at the marina. The marina del rey snoop has a boat out there lau big purple yacht and there was another one a really obscenely large yacht called the hotel california and the the boat on the back. It's the name of the boat. And then where it's from. And it was winslow arizona which is a famous line from take it easy by the eagles. I figure that is don henley noted dick of rock and roll with a obscene ugly yacht. Corded in reina. Del rey is just things around on connecting. Well as anyone embarrassing on that boat by the way did anyone you our boat. No i don't know about the other on our boat everyone was. I wanna say good behavior but everybody was able to comport themselves a dignity. I saw one woman on a neighboring yacht And we were on a yacht we were on like a little party. Pontoon basically but Woman being sued completely passed out and she was on the top level of this like multimillion dollar yacht and they had to carry her body and she's a large woman had a carry her body straight down like some like a ladder to get her down to the main level of the boat so they could get her off the boat and i guess get into an ambulance alcohol poisoning scenario. Now we'll get you and also speaking of since we're in the patriots realm greg and you mentioned bus. Did you see this report from the boston. Herald that harry and maybe it's just an observation that don't put too much into it could be fighting for a roster spot this summer. This is a first round. Pick in two thousand. Nineteen greg and i went and checked out your projected starters series. You don't have. Harry listed a starter. Patriots obviously made some big signings across the board on offense. Would that be stunning to have. Harry got cut third year of his career as a first round. Pick and i have a note that he's not a lock to make the team. I don't you. Didn't i went to check specifically if you would address that that's why i wanted to. He looks it. Looks like the fourth receiver. But then if you're like the fourth receiver and you don't play special teams and he has been a stiff. You could very well see them. Do one of these fake face-saving trades august twentieth where they trade them for a conditional seventh which is like the condition is nicole. Harry is no longer can nikiel harry after we trade him which they don't get anything for him. I wouldn't shock me. He's he's not look good. It's not like that's rough rough. He was taken four picks before deebo samuel nineteen before. Aj brown and then out of curiosity. I who else in that first round is no longer with their team and their two interesting cases. You had one quarterback of course wayne haskins and then giants safety deondraye baker who had major league. Well that's usually the earliest that first round pick ever gets cut is training camp of their third year. And that's even that's pretty rare but that's like the that's like always the unless there's something crazy like the two the two guys you mentioned although haskins. I guess that was that was an alzheimer in other news. Another rosenthal favorite russell. Wilson spoke to the media at the end of. Ota's late last week and he addressed all the drama that swarmed around him earlier offseason. And how in some ways. They got blown out of proportion. Let's danger russ had to say you know. Obviously i love seattle up. You know had a great career here so far Always wanted to play here for my whole career. Obviously i mean there are some. You know unfortunate frustrations after the season went. Win it all and do it all and do everything you can you know. I think everybody on our team does we. We all want to win it and You know getting unfortunately guy a little Little bit blunt blown out of proportion. A little bit Is eyebrows raised. I don't know who the i if you're saying that they are unfortunate feelings and he's including himself in that that would make sense hit a little bit. He was saying right after the season. There were frustrations about how things ended first round exit after a twelve and four season. You know who you are. Russell wilson you've spent years building yourself up to where you are you're agent. Forget forget all the off the record stuff that they were clearly doing his literally went on the record with adam. Schefter enlisted the four teams that he would be traded to. And so they asked russell wilson i. I don't know who was but kudos because that was the follow up to have about that quote and he was just like well. I just wanted to make it clear. If they were going to trade me where would. I wanna go. But the like we don't want to trade you. We never brought that up john. John schneider was clear about that. He was on the record to this. Yeah so to try to like paint. That has blown out of the guy literally. Like i just. I just three a piece of raw meat. Greg but i grew i grew. They're saying he's not. He's a little clumsy with how to play the game. There are other guys out there that can do this in a way. That doesn't lead to this type of i wouldn't call this a mea culpa but walking back certain elements of his offseason strategy. Well what about the the anecdotes of him storming out of meeting rooms and being so upset with the offense. I mean i think when he was at the super bowl sitting with goodell watching. Tom brady win it again. After going to tampa bay and having incredible say in poll on a new franchise that started him. And five other quarterbacks down this road of malcontents status and yes it got a. It just didn't happen for me. Didn't get moved. i think. They addressed his concerns to some degree by trading for a couple of linemen and adding people and re signing chris carson but like had the bears trade scenario been okayed by seattle and russell. Wilson wants to finish his career with the seahawks. Would he have been okay. Going in chicago would have been okay being traded or just. None of that happens so now. You're back in front of reporters and you have to make good with all this absurd drama. That occurred. I guess i just have some faith in the audience a little bit here. It's like we can handle the truth. You don't have to like everyone sees through this stuff anyways. So right seahawks fans are gonna love you if if you play well i mean it is a tricky thing to go back and get them back all on all on your side but added just be honest Speaking malcontents libya.
Stephon Gilmore absent from Patriots' mandatory minicamp
"To be good indicator. He is in Buffalo for camp. Around the NFL in New England cornerbacks to fine Gilmore will not participate in the team's mandatory minicamp this week. Boston Herald's Andrew Callahan reports. Gilmore wants a new contract The
How the Aaron Rodgers-Packers Drama Will Likely End
"Strikes out. looking yankee. Third base coach. Phil nevin was irate. Got thrown out either way. We go to extras tied at four top. Ten at fluey sesa during the pitching and a three to count. That's called the ball. And gary sanchez can't believe it. The yankees are frustrated. And then they would like this. Even last two onto that zander bogart's a basic both run score and the red sox winning six four completing the sweep again. It's the first time. The red sox walk into yankee stadium and leave with a sweep in a decade prior to this series. Boston lost eleven straight away games against the bombers. Moreover the red sox have now won five straight extra inning games at yankee stadium. We'll talk more about that later. Meanwhile now let's talk about this. Tomorrow is a significant day. In the development of the aaron rodgers sodden it is the first of three consecutive days of packers mandatory minicamp in his monthly column. Packers president. Mark murphy at this to say regarding the impact of the predicament. Quote the situation. We face with aaron rodgers has divided our fan base the emails and letters that i received reflect. This fact is. I wrote here last month. We remain committed to resolving things with aaron wanting to be our quarterback in twenty twenty one and beyond working to resolve the situation and realize that the less votes sides say publicly. The better you said that again. Dominic foxworth in his monthly column. So what question media jumps to your mind. A why the hell is mark. Berkeley a monthly column. Like who cares. And also i mean can. We do a foia request on his emails. Because i'm pretty sure there is. Nobody emailing him. Angry about aaron rodgers. There is no divide. There's no fans like we don't want aaron back like he's trying to create this this friction that doesn't exist and it seems
Takeaways From Day 1 of 2021 Seahawks Rookie Minicamp
"14th must be time for Seahawks Rookie football practice details from Como's bills warts 13 undrafted free agents assigned to the Seattle roster along with three draft picks, and they were part of orientation meetings in a rookie minicamp workout at the V Mac this afternoon. Head coach Pete Carroll, trying to evaluate new guys with a shorter camp. They'll get the same amount of reps they would get the normal camp have to adjust the temple. A little bit T get that done, but they'll get the same snap so that that's that's the main thing so we could make good evaluations and also, Carol says the Hawks were still talking with some veterans about plans for a mandatory minicamp. Seattle's returning players there were already voted not to attend in person, Voluntary O T A S Because of covert concerns. The Seattle
Houston Texans' Deshaun Watson Could Lose Millions if He Sits Out the 2021 Season
"Okay. Let's start our. Nfl news with shawn watson. This thing is getting uglier. Who is it ever so they just let him go all right now just break up. Well he's got the no trade he just can't okay so as it appears to shawn watson is never gonna play for houston again obviously and if as it is also appearing the texans. Do not trade to sean here. We go with a holdout right so different numbers have kind of come out. Regarding just a huge losses that watson would incur. Okay so we're gonna try to go through this piece by piece the full scope of these consequences if he exercises his right under the cba and not playing twenty twenty one. So i if the two thousand twenty one off season has a mandatory minicamp and if to sean skips it he will be popped with a fine in the amount of ninety three thousand dollars. K secondly if the sean skips training camp he'd be fined fifty thousand dollars a day. Okay so alleged. Day day day day with forty days in camp and six mandatory days off. That's thirty four. Days that sean would miss at a total fine of one point. Seven million bucks crews k. Thirdly sean would be finding amount of the regular season game check for each preseason game that he misses so at a base salary of ten point five. Four million bucks. That's about six hundred twenty thousand dollars a game. If as expected the twenty twenty one season has three preseason games. He would lose another one point. Eight six million bucks okay. So totaling up for the entire offseason including training camp and preseason to sean would incur just over three and a half million dollars in fines if he does not show up. Now if the sean then skips the season and if the nfl like they've been throwing around are going to be rolling seventeen games for the regular season. He'd lose another just over eleven million dollars in base salary on top of that calculators out guys because this is just racking up skipping the season would also allow houston to recover to sean signing bonus allocated for twenty twenty one. That's at five point. Four million bucks in money that he would have to basically just give right back so you do the math correctly. Skipping twenty twenty one would be total financial loss of over twenty million dollars for him
Should the Patriots replace Cam Newton with Jarrett Stidham?
"Think this is where we need to start because it's where everybody is starting when we talk about the Patriots and where we're at with Cam Newton right now in terms of the Patriots quarterback of the here-and-now home and also maybe even looking Beyond here and now to the 2021 season even and here in New England you turn on Boston sports radio, and I'm not trying to pick on those guys, but there are definitely talking a lot about Jarrett Stidham and the possibility of benching Cam Newton for Jarrett Stidham. I think they're crazy. But that that's a topic for another day. Mostly I want to focus on what are your opinions right knee about how cam is playing and how he can obviously improve from objectively. What was a very bad game on Sunday against the Cardinals whether you're a chemist and or a cam hater. Yeah, and it wasn't dead. A game against Arizona and Arizona. First of all, I think you have to remember that Arizona's defense is a lot different than Houston's defense. It's a lot different than Seattle's defense back in week to that Houston game. That's you know game those were two games with Jim actually got the passing game going and you felt hey maybe they could put together a passing game that could actually be effective Arizona see on their athletic. They fly all over the place Isaiah Simmons budda Baker. Like they have guys that can play they have some different things and they certainly they were putting an egg nine guys in the box of times. I'm sure having you saw that as well. I know you have from some of the work you've done they were basically dare in New England like go ahead. S game by throwing the football and it looked like they couldn't, you know, they got a couple breaks at the end with a missed field-goal and Isaiah Simmons penalty then put them in position to win, but they didn't win that game because of the passing game, but you know, that often said, I think we all have to sort of take a step back and realize a couple of things one. You mentioned I studied quarterbacks. Each week at USA Today. I have to do what we call a QB camp where I put up five of my quarterback videos of the most notable quarterback performances. There are some weeks friends. It's hard to find five good quarterback package, which is league-wide It's just tough. This is one of those weeks like you might get Baker Mayfield than that because there's just not great quarterback players Patriots fans were spoiled from two decades of Tom Brady where we took the best at the quarterback position weekend and week out but then when you take a step back and you don't have that and you see guys like, you know, Derek Carr and his high variance play or Baker Mayfield in his high variance player. Look at Carson waves, I mean talk about somebody that's regressed. He's regressed all the way back to his senior year at North Dakota State quarterback plays tough. And right now we have a quarterback. That's high variance. Well, that's one thing. I think we need to remember the other is this he came in late in a strange year in the midst of a pandemic with no training camp more minimal training camp. No minicamps. No OTAs, no prestige. James be tough complicated offense to run that has so many different moving parts. You've read The Playbook, you know, Evan every road has like six different variations. I'm trying to do is hard. There are some play books that are easy. It's like oh, yes, this makes sense Bruce Arians Playbook. It's kind of easy. Nothing really changes Josh McDaniels doing the Patriots Playbook. It's like quantum physics for me. Like I I can't figure it out. And so to try to do that in the midst of all this is difficult. So with that context, I think you know, if you want to get into the home Jared versus cam debate. I don't really think there is one because as you pointed out this week on Twitter Bill Belichick has seen Jarrett Stidham now for almost two years. He's seen him every day in practice if Jake was going to be the answer to what fixed to what else is Patriots passing game. Yes, he would play him but he's not so that tells you what you need to know about Jackson them. I was on Jarrett Stidham home. Right before they signed Camp. I remember I wrote the peace and said look Jack said it was a planet quarterback everybody and I'm so glad I snuck in at the ad. Well, look if they could get can do it for cheap short not be great. But Jarod said it was a planet like two weeks later. I signed Cam Newton Cam right now gives them the best chance to win games. Is it through the passing game most weeks? Probably not, you know this week might be a get right opportunity. But if I you know, if for the 2021 season, I still think canvas done enough to earn the chance to win this job with a full complement of training camp preseason, all that stuff of the engine needs to get better at Short of the mechanics break. Absolutely not do they matter. Sometimes they actually do but right now he's the best shot they've got week in and week out to win games.
NFL and players union agree to a virtual offseason program

Odell Beckham will report to Giants camp on time
"Talk about other wide receiver. Odell Beckham junior was back in March. Kinda felt like man is a really good chance that Odell Beckham junior is going to hold out as he seeks a new contract. He's gonna play this season under his rookie deal. It's gonna pay him about eight and a half million bucks, but he showed up for many Cam. He participated in most of the giants off season program and word is he is going to be there tomorrow when the New York Giants begin training camp. Here's a Jordan Renna on ESPN NFL giants reporter on sportscenter last night, talking about what Dell showing up the giants training camp means he's doing all the things giants. Ask them shown up minicamp showing up to OTA's. Now he's going to show up the training camp. Look. He had an option here Khalil Mack. Aaron, Donald day matrix differently. They may not show up for their teams. Adele, this guy wants to play football, right? He's a football player dying to get back out there. So he wants to get out there during training camp and he's putting the ball in the giants court and saying, hey, look, I'm doing everything possible to get this deal done. I want to be here, right? I'm doing whatever you guys asked me. I want to be in New York Giants. Let's get this done and there's really hasn't been any serious negotiations so far to this point Odal Beckham junior getting a report to a giant strain cabbies obvious coming off a year where he had the broken ankle only played in four games that remains to be seen, how much is it going to practice? Will he be on the field on Thursday when workouts begin? Is gonna play in the preseason and do the giants get a deal done with him during training camp historically. And obviously there's a regime change in New York, but historically, when the giants do these things like they did with ally manning these things take place behind closed doors, they don't typically, you know, show their cards. Regards to contract extensions, what they might do a certain players. So does this get done? It's a very good show of good faith by Odell Beckham, junior. If you're giants fan, it's like, dude, get it done for for as as much as del Beckham, junior Camby, quote, unquote distraction, and it's been immature before the whole, you know, going boat before the playoff game a couple of years ago with a bunch of his teammates and getting into fights with with Josh Norman, dude, Odell Beckham junior's one of the best three wide receivers in the game. You're not going to get anybody as good as him. You're certainly not gonna get any better than him. I'm not a big fan of saying, look, pay him and move on, but of got to do that, right. I mean, if you're the giants and you kinda going to go through this transition phase at some point where you move on from ally manning, maybe not this year, but at some point in the future and you've you've gotten saquon Barkley and you're looking to make a rebound from last year when he went three and thirteen Beckham junior's marvelously talented, he is still just. What twenty twenty six years old. His first three seasons in the NFL were historically great. Get it done, get it done, and the fact that he has shown up or gonna show up and be there for the beginning of training camp. That's a show of good faith. You have to reward that get the deal done and move on. And last podcast. Carmelo Anthony is the new rocket man. He's going to be a member of the Houston Rockets how many of us remember his time with the Atlanta Hawks is fondly as I do, but I'm in for Michael junior. This is first and last on ESPN radio and the ESPN app. We will get into Carmelo Anthony and why. I think mellow in Houston can work coming up in just two minutes. But first, David Robinson was on the jump yesterday, sharing his thoughts on the Kawai Leonard situation with his former team is one of the oddest situations. I think I've seen since I've been in pro basketball. He's he's a hard guy to understand..
