"And we're here with a quick news. Update some of the items surrounding them falcons. And fortunately we're going to start off with sad piece of news Because of the content deuce before warranted this involves child sex allegations but falcons have released a veteran linebacker arkadiusz mingo. He signed this offseason for about a million dollars guaranteed. It came out this weekend After he was arrested and released on twenty five thousand dollars bond that he was alleged to have committed child sexual contact to child sex offense. This incident apparently occurred Two years ago july fourth weekend of two thousand nineteen. I don't wanna get into too many of the details. They're pretty graphic and not something that we want to rehash here. At the alcoholic you can go to the alcohol dot com. We have a couple of articles up about mingo including The cap implications of Terminating his contract At this point Likewise includes some information towards an sl article that you can read. That has some of the more You know Lascivious details of what happened Before warned before you read that it is explicit. it is disturbing and police keep that in mind before you go and read anything related to this I think given the allegations Given the fact that The police felt that there was enough there to arrest him This was the right. Move by the falcons. They they didn't have a choice here in realistically. I think if they had tried to wait this out even just from a public relations standpoint. It would have been a disaster for the team. This was the only move they had Reasonably i've seen some people argue. They could've put him on the reserved lists the commissioners reserved exempt list While the investigation continued but This is too toxic. This is something you have to get away from and to be blunt in mingo was here on a one year deal. It was not like he was being counted on to be a. You know a corner piece of this which is going forward. He was a veteran Honestly one that has never lived up to his First round billing as draft pick and this is unfortunately a move. That for the falcons They're forced to make and as for the cap implications Matt chamber has a breakdown at the alcoholic dot com. If you wanna get into the details but he signed a one. The mingo signed a one point. Two five million dollar contract with one point one million guaranteed he got a signing bonus of one hundred. Seventy five thousand falcons won't be able to do anything about that. That will hit the books now. The question is if the falcons had some language in the contract that allowed them to avoid it In the case of something like this misconduct or whatnot. It's almost a certainty that they did so more than likely they'll be able to get back. Roughly that one million in cap space that was allocated towards him for the season And right now the falcons have about nine and a half million in available cap space This will add you. Know about a million back to that. So they've got the money to go out and find a replacement for mingo and again. This is not a player that has been a significant contributor since he's entered the league So it's not like there. There's a precipitous. Drop off for the falcons defense which already had question marks going into the season. I don't think anyone thought that mingo was going to be the difference maker for this defense So you have to wonder at this point. The falcons do need some more pass rush help. Could they look at justin houston Who is you know. he's he's on the wrong side of thirty but as a pass rush specialist. Someone who just comes in for that purpose He could make a lot of sense. Of course houston did go to. Uga so there are some connections to the state. you've got other names like melvin ingram olivier vernon Who are guys who are currently recovering from injury. And then you have some other guys. Like trent murphy. Adrian clayborn everson griffen Chambers does a great job of covering this at the alcoholic dot com. Go there For his right up on what the falcons may need to do. But again the falcons have rightfully terminated. The contract of marquette's may go on the heels of the child sex assault allegations get ready for stats on your baseball stats with the first of its kind. Mlb a our app brought to you by t mobile. And this is interesting. There's some different details here. That i think you guys need to pay attention to in the past. Obviously the last time fans were able to be at training camp was in two thousand nineteen up at flowery branch. There is a limited number of dates in the past. I think we had two and a half. Maybe three weeks worth of dates. That fans could go up to Flowery branch and watch the team practice. This is a little bit over a week worth of practice and in total there are six training. Camp dates that are open to the public The first of those dates is saturday. July thirty first The practice at nine thirty. Am the gates open at eight. Thirty am The next day. Sunday august i Is the next day that's open. Then you've got two days. During the week. Tuesday august third wednesday. August fourth And then thursday august fifth or three days in a row right there in the middle of the week. I know for some of you. The kids maybe starting back in school. It may be tough to make those dates. I will say historically the mid week practices tend to be less crowded. But we'll get to the details of that and just second. Finally saturday august seventh. The falcons have done this for a few years. Now they will have a practice at mercedes benz stadium that practice starts at two pm. The gates open at one. Pm you do have to purchase tickets.

I there was acceptance affirmation and approval and that it doesn't matter how much you and i have sinned if we're covered by blood and we're in his bosom when we repent we are approved and there's an approval that takes place when you get to this place that you feel the confidence to go. You know what people people they misconstrue this. We hear the word perfect. All i can't be i'm not perfect only got and i go. Yeah you don't understand the word. We're not flawless but we can become perfect. Bible actually says be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect. It didn't say be god-like your father never be ye salvation like you said. He is not calling you. And i to be duped into this week. Ought to be flawless. Kate ever make a mistake on. Never seen again. I can't tell them and help them with god. Because just last night i went off on my kids and my flesh and i shouldn't have. I want you to understand. God's mercy is there for you just like it was for me. When i woke up this morning he was standing there. Letting me know. I was still approved. I was still excepted. I was still affirmed. And he gives me. "Company right. Have my family ready to do everything adult would do. We would laugh with that. That just doesn't happen because there is a match ration- process. There's something that needs to be downloaded into our kids that they would have something. They could actually contribute to this society. Where right right all our kids. We but people do that but someone gets saved. And i'm a christian. What they did is they proclaim themselves just like christ. You just got saved yesterday And i'm saying jesus said no become my and this is what disciple means is area fifty verse four. It was prophesying. About jesus and said the lord god has given me the tongue of disciples disciple but disciples because jesus wanted them reproduce of disciples that i may sustain the weary one with the word. He awakens morning by morning. He awakens my ear. Every morning. To listen as a a disciple and i didn't turn back nor was i- disobedient that were disciple mood in the hebrew means this learn. It taught trained expert. One wholehearted follower. You were talking about man when i see gene on. You're talking about 'cause one of my jobs. One of every believers job as a disciple is to sustain the weary one with the word. But if you don't have to give how can you sustain them my job to sustain the weary one with the word until they can sustain themselves and then in turn start to sustain others. that's what discipleship was about in. Jesus that's what he said. I'm go make disciples but you can't give what you've got right. Perfect he can't ain't gone language. So for those go and disciple people mit. They had to be one. And i don't see that i've been a part of four different movements and i've had people scared to try to disciple someone because they don't know they don't have it. They're frustrated followers. They want to fulfill the great commission. Go but they don't know how and you know when you don't have the goods to give you. Don't you're not gonna jump into that fire not gonna. What do you think that is what do you what do you think how do you think one becomes a disciple because it's different. You just said that being saved or born again is not the same as being a disciple. How does one become a disciple. Live in such a time where we really miss it. But what. Jesus what jesus could have done was just leave. The manual instruction manual leaf. It's what he could have done but instead he walked around. He called those men to walk with him to do life to do relationship. You and i do relationship. We live together. You know i remember when when you lost your best friend. And i got to call and you signed man this happened. All i can feel was to hurt of my my guy. Todd losing his best friend so the first thing for me was how can i go. Try to help sustain him. How can i go speak a word of encouragement into his soul. My thing is this. If you're not walking with someone who's been down the road further than you in this walk then you don't have the opportunity to have something imparted into you. That is sustainable. We're we're disciple too. Much publicly from the pulpit. We go every sunday wednesday. We're here because someone is crafted an eloquent. Ted talk for you right and we hear it but who eats one meal.

"I had not built this relationship with him the way i was suppose to. I realized that I was calling myself a christian. But even as nice as i was and how people viewed me. I was the kid that you know what. I defended those on the short yellow bus in school. I would you know what i mean. I was always this good kid but my standards were well. As long as i'm better than you then i'm okay but you're not my standards. Jesus is my standard. And when i stacked myself up to how he wanted us to live i realized man i'm saved. He saved me on that cross. But i'm not as disciple and that word is a very important strong word. And jesus vocab what is how would you describe it like true. True true discipleship. What is it and speaking of. Jesus why was jesus such a believer in true discipleship when as well because unless something is imparted into you unless something really become second nature to you you can't reproduce it. I walk around his gym all the time. There's not one trainer out on that floor. That doesn't not carry the culture of todd durkin. that doesn't carry. What fitness quest tennis to post to be an represent and can recite what it is not like a drone like a robot. But because it's with in them. Dna they don't have the dna they don't have the gene expression that you're looking for in here and in the same way. Jesus when he says this to people if you don't do these things here. You cannot be my disciple. People got to understand in that culture eastern mindset. Everybody had prince had disciples gamliel. John the baptist. Add some to jump ship and follow socrates plato. Everybody did he's going look. I'm drawing the line if you're going to be this is what i'm requiring of you if you're gonna be my the exclusive my disciple and that's where people don't get it you know. I don't know if you noticed this people in here probably wouldn't know per se. I was the pastor if you introduce me as a pastor. I rarely do myself that way. Because i don't want people to throw on their christmas. Easter sunday suits. All of a sudden stop cussing stop being them. No i want you to be you on the beam me and then we're going to see what happens because i want the real person and what you've experienced the real person and what i see is that people call themselves christians all the time but do you know jesus never called us christians matter of fact when that term was coined in the bible it was coined by people in the world who saw men and women getting disciple d- and they look at me said there go those little jesus but the people they were referring to were calling themselves believers followers disciples. Africa's Great Green Wall to combat desertification secures $16.8 billion in international finance Impact

"Now we have science writer. Rachel danske with an update on africa's great green wall project which will soon see an infusion of billions of dollars from the world bank and others this project. The great green wall is intended to serve as a bulwark against desertification of the land south of the sahara desert while at the same time supporting communities that live in this region. Okay rachel how're you doing. I'm doing well. Thanks for having me sure. This is a rape big wall. This is a big project. It's basically supposed to be this green band that spans about seven thousand kilometers across the whole hop of africa. It launched back in two thousand seven. Rachel what would you say. The progress has been since two thousand seven now to two thousand twenty one almost non-existent which is why they launched this new round of funding last month. There was an assessment that found that a fraction of the goal had been achieved so far and the goal is for twenty thirty so they realized that time was running out right throughout this piece. You make this really important distinction between planting a tree and growing a tree. Why is that so important to think about when you know thinking about restoring lands or planting trees to help prevent desertification. The first time. I heard it. I just thought well. That's a really good way to put it. And then when racer after another would phrase it that way that we don't plant trees we grow them because that's been one of the missing pieces in restoration. Efforts globally not even specific to the great green wall but just in restoration landscape and forest restoration. Generally there has been this focus on planting trees but little focus really on looking at what gets planted in the first place in paying attention to the species diversity in the planting material and making sure that it's the right tree for the right place. There's also last follow plus maintenance of the tree then there needs to be talked to someone in west africa who was saying that. He's traveled to so many countries throughout the continental. Seen so many trees planted. But where the forests. Yeah that's a really interesting way of thinking about it. Basically tree planting mania that's been happening has come from all these different projects foundations quotas. That are saying oh. It costs a dollar to put a tree in the ground and we're going to offset our carbon. We're going to green the world but no one's looking after these trees and making sure that they live beyond that for sheer gas so now that we know that. That's not a good way to go about this. There's actually a lot of research. That's found some of the best practices for restoration projects. What are some of the recommendations have come out from research. In the past ten years when paper published last year talked about ten golden rules for reforestation. And they think those summed up a lot of the recommendations really well in addition to just protecting existing forests which probably sounds obvious. But there's a lot of research on the new. I don't have the same benefits that existing ones do and it's hard to replace that beyond that involving local communities has been just incredibly important component that researchers are saying was not really part of the focus before because the restoration ecologists are focused on the physical research and they aren't trained to think about how people play into the picture and it's just so important to the survival of the trees because it's people who are planting trees and it's people who are maintaining the trees and if you don't have community by an investment in rye these trees there and interested keeping them there. The trees aren't going to last and the trees only have their benefits when they last going back to trees here for a minute you mentioned keeping old us in place for protecting them. What else is being looked at. So that's when using a diversity of species so that there can start to be restored. Biodiversity rather than just monoculture of trees. They're starting to be focused now. Also on the quality of the seeds. And what you're actually planting. And how do we build. The systems and infrastructure for collecting and improving. Seeds is going to be the most resilient seed for that species but then it's also about the genetic diversity because there can be inbreeding with plants. If you're not collecting from wide enough geographic area than you can start to sort of limit. The gene pool and that can be problematic. You talk about this example in ethiopia of a seat initiative a network that is supposed to improve the quality of seats. Can you talk about how that would work. And how it would involve the community. The provision of adequate trees deep portfolio or pets. Bo is a project in ethiopia that they're calling it a functional trees seed system. It's a multi-pronged effort. They're trying to develop standards for seed collection and sharing that. There's high quality seed that will ensure that the trees that are planted can be their most resilient they're developing maps for how to source those seeds they're trying to strengthen the research system the infrastructure and the the research system to improve seed quality and they're linking all of that to the people who will use the seeds seeds there's technical training for farmers and the local language and there are diagrams of how to store different types of seeds. They're really trying to get that knowledge to the community to farmers and local nurseries to scale up the capacity of local decentralized infrastructure. Is there another model project that people might be looking at to expand as the money comes in. Are there other areas. That are doing good things. Yeah there was one of their project that i came across the one billion trees for africa project. And it's led by this man from cameroon tabby jota. He talked about how he grew up in this thriving economy system and he went off to university and when he came back the lands that he new as a forest with no longer for us. He started planting marina cheese and cola nut trees and mingo trees and all these different trees that would restore some of the soil health that he thought had been lost but also produce food and income generating opportunities for people so that they would be invested in keeping the trees there. He called his approach. The contagion approach. Because it's just sort of caught on. He got a bunch of men and women in this one community to be involved in the tree planting the neighboring communities saw what was happening and he was very clear that it's not like a drastic change where their community sedley rich where they weren't before but the small benefits were noticeable and so the neighboring community wanted to do something similar. And so it's just been a word of mouth approach so as he developed this very grassroots success he's gotten funding from more international sources than use it to do the work on the ground in these different communities mostly in west africa. And he's starting to do more and more with the great great wall which seems very exciting so there are a couple of different findings that we talked about that suggests the way forward for this type of restoration project involving the community diversity of. They're planting making sure that they're not just putting stuff in the ground but they're actually supporting plant growth and the communities around it but another thing that comes up a lot in your story is now we kind of what should happen. Researchers have come to a lot of conclusions that are very useful. But then there's the practice what's actually happening on the ground and maybe even what will happen on the ground. What are some of the biggest impediments to implementing the results of this research. One interesting comment. That i heard was that the implementing partners people with the money don't have scientist on their teams. They don't realize how complicated it is to plant a tree into get it right and to make sure that grows the lack of knowledge in the right places and the lack of communication between the people with the money and the people with the knowledge and also the community who is going to be involved. Those conversations aren't being had something else that a here is the expectations that donors have. They want fast results. And that's not. How trees in general work. But it's especially not how effective restoration works because all of these things need to happen and they take time getting communities involved. There's a lot of upfront investment. That needs to happen. In developing all of this infrastructure and research systems with a lot faster to just go and say just plant a bunch of eucalyptus trees. Because that's what they have the seeds and planting materials for. There's a disconnect between the speed that donors want to see results and the reality of what needs to happen. I've seen that you've written about this project for years now. What do you think you're going to see if you check back in two years. I hope to see that things. Like the pats project and this other effort the one billion trees for africa a hope that they have scaled and and that they inspire or serve as models for other projects. I don't know where. I'm placing bets. It feels like there is enough of a resounding message coming from the research community about the importance of this and the importance for the effective ecosystem function restoration and the community development but also for the climate benefits and if the global fenders governments who want to plant trees for the climate benefits if they are serious than they will start listening to these researchers. This is like thousands of miles. Four thousand miles. That's like the us plus another third right east west a huge huge area to cover an across countries. And all these different people's. How is this. possible. Rachel i mean this is a global scale. This is a huge project. it's huge. It's huge and that's probably why it sounded like the great idea when they announced it. And why didn't go anywhere for ten years but it's the partner agencies that i've spoken with involved in this project. The great queen wall are really clear that it's an environmental program but it's also the social alliance when that's meant to economic development but also really impart some resilience. See into these communities. Who are the most vulnerable to the effects of climate change. That's why they're really ramping. Up this funding now because they see the value for the planet from a climate change perspective but also for the millions of people across this gigantic area. Pinks rachel thanks for having me. "Go forward to minoru. Pain is understand that they are better. There's more in this next year. Yeah good were good word as powerful speaking truth to power right now. That's good you know and when you think about pain thanked about it like this. That pain can cause a quickening. You'll spirit and the work quicken they of the definitions for quickening is me that you may have reached that stage of gestation at which a feel motion is felt that something on the inside of you there. There may be something that god wants to birth in you and and you are in the they should phase right now and so you got to ask the question. I have my pregnant you you you you you have again. Let's go back to what we talked about. You have god's purpose come on you and he wants you to birth his purpose and begin to walk it out you own earth. Now that pain that you you you have that you're going to take that and he brings the gooda out of the bag. Yes because you know. I like my way because we already belt. Someone just put in comments. I always purpose for pain. And that is all that is absolutely correct. I'm actually doing on clubhouse tomorrow. The title of my class tomorrow is pain has a purpose and so Decorated right in the vein. But absolutely it's a birthing as you say is a birthing because what you said what happens. Is that pain. Those labor pains happening in you. Push the your bleeding and yet taunt torn somewhat sometimes enhance. But guess what you burger. Birthed that you're that's amazing. Look at gone. Look at worst brings something good out of that pain. Some somebody some someone wrote said there is. There is two different ban. That's there's bad bad and there's good bad when you look at look at james chapter one. He says count it all joy in the midst of the struggle. And you're right you wondering. How can i count my agony. My struggles i defeat my heart ships pain. I'm sorry doi right. How can i do that but you gotta look at it like this. When james talks about that he saying not the not to have joy in the pain and suffering. But you've got to have joe and knowing that you serve a god that has all power in his hand to bring you out of the pain. And as paul says in romans eight and we know that all things work together for good for those who love the lord and who are call according to his purpose right so now understanding pain..

I don't know about you. But i'm always thankful each and every morning i wake up. I always tell people that we have to wake up with god and we go to bed with god. Eight men right now. We want to bring you back on this fourth tuesday to wonderful group group that i have become really really excited about group that i love and what they do for for the kingdom of god and that is sisters who care. A leader is elder. Lisa jacobs. yup there. She is right there. She's waving and so tonight. We have a great program for you. <hes> profits darling. Mingo is going to be sharing with us tonight. And i'll let her give a brief synopsis of herself in a little bit. What god has gifted her and called her to do and then we will dive. Espn provice talk to us. All right will a man in a man. Thank you for having dr j. and to all your listeners system caring everyone that has joining us tonight. Salone i'm <hes>. Profit is darlene mango slash minister <hes>. Just the kingdom ambassador. For god. I also a license <hes>. Certified life coach. And i have a project that i do call. Success factors. i helped to restore the kraus's of god's queens here on earth. And i also worked with says who cares with lisa and i also do outreach for the homeless. They are so many things that god has called me to do. We just want to be obedient. Walk in those things are thank you for me being obedient you being obedient for having me on your show tonight to speak to his people and i'm just i'm just glad to be here. No doubt no doubt is nothing like being obedient. And samuel says obedience is better than sag period. after i. i had to learn at the hard way you you and me both the. If we all want to be honest. I think and learning calling going through the school of hard knocks flow of from the heart. You only get ready to stop some trouble right now. We're going to stop preaching our snow to here. L. appreciate you being on. Thank god for your background and what he has done in your life and where you are today. And we want to continue praying for his blessings be upon you and the rest of the sisters as well as the ministry <hes>. That god is going to do some great and awesome and mighty things. Continue doing those things you all already doing. Some great and powerful things already so with that being said. Let's go to work. So i first question i have for. You is what does it mean to find your purpose and this is something that i talk about all the time. Oh my shows is purple. That purposes is something important. And i believe that we miss it and we go about our our life and we don't even realize that god has a purpose for each each and every one of us when you go back and you look at if asians chapped one talks about the purpose of god. He says that god has predestined us. And were predestined means. Mark of course in other words. God has laid out of purpose however the question that i just ask it is for millions us. It is difficult to find purpose. Profis darling talk to us law i. I'm a purpose purpose person as well <hes>. Because it took me some time to step into it <hes>. Just like many people. Many people in the kingdom <hes>. It's like you said we're honest. We're trying to find ourselves in god. Or a lotta time. Let me scratch that. In the star from the beginning a lot of us trying to find ourselves in people we try to find ourselves in circumstances instead of trying to find ourselves in god. That's where purpose lives. But then don't get me wrong because they'll those things are happening on a lives in things that we have to overcome a part of the plan in order fussing get into purpose because as we were talking about earlier being pressed on every side going through things that to me brings out the oil and the oil is what we need in order to go forth. With god's presence is the oil. His power is authority for the walk in <unk>. Herpes of the plan of god in each and every one of our lots. So we're we're trying to find in. I'm hitting on knocking off fifties out with a new september half a century but with a lot of people say this like you know what i got to this age now still on over. I want to do. When i need you to do is get in the presence of god. I need you to get it his word. I need you to get to know him. So he can tell you a set but then he'll use may end will use property to use as people to speak to your life to give you direction but it's not trying to follow man instead of trying to follow god because you'll purpose is in the man and has gone. That's the father and that's what we can find everything we need and that includes purpose. It took me on a journey throughout my life. I didn't get saved two levels thirty years old. And when i got say before i got saved no one ever ever told me or even recognized who i was on komo somebody. They didn't recognize who i was able called on told me someone had to tell me i was in his face. Come when i'm no. I'm not by myself. I was in his face with someone. Having to tell me what will not know. God to tell me but long story short because of that i was lost. I didn't know asphalt to do somewhere to school became a home health. They became a cna became a massage. Therapist came a licensed hairstyle. Became a license. Educator became a certified life coach just so many things first of all. I'm never be without a job. That's number one. But simple and i became an entrepreneur on our <hes>. Have businesses and had businesses and and got a lifestyle and health <hes>. Company and. I was like what is it in everyone around me. That didn't understand because you know you've got those people around you don't understand what's going on with you because they don't understand. Guess what that will stop you. Because they don't understand. Guess what is part of the plant because what i had to do at the age of thirty nine. I sat down. I got my first one was really supposed to do. And i joined the church

So I'm glad to long an honor to be part of this for your name has come up several times over the last couple of years I've only had had you. Had you on the list. So that's good. Good time to reach out and can night. Yeah. Yeah. That's that's exactly what everybody's doing right now. Hey you were born in the Dr. that's my parents are from. Yeah I mean born in. Nights nineteen. I can't even remember now is a nineteen eighty. So. What what city. We were born on I was on copy dialed as basically my immediate family is, but my my mother, her family, their foaming in bed, which is. A small time to set up with the bladder. My Dad, my dad's not under the too much about my dad's Oscar damage much. But from when I understand I the capital also. Yeah, my dad was from Monte Cristi my mom's family's from La Vega? Okay. Yeah. Yeah. and. Then they moved to center the Mingo before they left to for New York in the late fifties. Okay. Yeah I mean. My Dad was actually in the military and he you know he was actually caught up through just dictatorship us he was on that but the wild thing about that, his dad, his sister, my aunt she worked for the the opposite President Enhanced Dominican Republic with them in the sixties when when the loss the EH associated. Travel to Oaxaca

"I'd like to welcome to the show Susan met Naski from Brooklyn, tropical E. dot com, and that's tropical with an I at the end but a put a link to that in the show notes Susan Welcome to the show. Thank you. Thank you so much for having and Susan. You're coming on the show to talk about one of my favorite places in Mexico. Of course, I haven't been every place Oaxaca. and. Why are you talking about Wocka? Well, it is also one of my favorite places. It's actually my favorite place because I now live here after I think my first trip was in two, thousand, fifteen and. I just kept coming back and back for months at a time, and then finally I had been traveling fulltime for awhile I'm a travel blogger and when I was just ready to settle down, this was the place that was at the very top of my list. Excellent. Well, and I understood after reaching out to Susan that she was a longtime listener, the show which is always fun to hear it is a big honor for me to be on this show when there was a time many years ago I wasn't able to really travel, and this was my constant source of inspiration. I cannot imagine a time not be able to travel except of course now but right. Excellent and why should someone go to Hakka? So I think that the thing about Oaxaca really. So special and is not often matched in other places is that it's so dynamic. There is such a depth and breadth of things to do and learn and taste and understand here. It's so easy to fill a week itinerary full of all these things and not just one type of thing but a huge variety of things. So there's incredible culture here. There's history. An Amazing Food and mess calcined beautiful nature artisan work. So there's really something for everyone and It's just such a dynamic place to learn over of everything excellent. What kind of Tannery or are you going to recommend for us where we're GONNA start so? Worked on this a lot of years there because as I say, there's so much to do and I actually hear over and over again that people come here they plan a long weekend trip and they pair it with Mexico City or the coast or other places in Mexico and. On their first or second day they're already planning a return trip because they realize immediately that there's just such a huge amount of things to do. It's such a beautiful place such a compelling place. So I've come up with a seven day itinerary that I think is really a nice balance of all these different aspects, the nature and the culture and history in the food and artisan work and I. think that's a great way to have your first trip to a Hakka to have a little bit of a balance of all the things and learn a little of everything and. WELL ROUNDED PERSPECTIVE OF OAXACA Going Day one. Well so I have this kind of divided by Oaxaca city and then day trips and I think that one way people go wrong is they don't necessarily know that the day trips and and the villages and the nature sites archaeological sites outside the city the number of things to do outside of the city is equal or more than within the city. So. I think that the best way to kind of approach your race to think of it more or less than a fifty fifty way that maybe you're going to be doing day trips about as many days as you will be just strictly inside the. So I I'd like to just kind of talk about stuff within the city and then later I can get into the day trips if that works for you works remain so. Has Been inhabited since eleven thousand BC. So it has an extremely long history a really in depth history, and that's part of why a lot of the places outside of the city are so important the pre Hispanic archaeological sites and villages that still hold to their traditions. But also the city itself is quite old and the modern day city started to be built in fifteen hundreds when the Spanish were here. So there's still lots of historical sites to see in the city that are important and also beautiful. One of the best places I think to start is south of the Mingo Church that is an ex convent that has now been converted to a church and a museum and a ethnical garden, and it's also just kind of a big meeting point in the city for tourists and for locals as well. It's great for people watch chain there's lots of street food outside. So it's a great place to start, and then the museum there is great. They have lots of great exhibits about the history and Culture Haka. Big. Museum. Not a big museum but. We're seeing and also is a great way to get a look inside at the architecture of this gorgeous ex convent and then the ethnic botanical garden that's on the grounds as well is really fantastic. It's required to take a guided tour. And I wouldn't say it's for everyone because if you it is to at least two hours and it's very in depth about plant life and history culture. And I love it and I think it's amazing. I'm taking up multiple times bill. Some of those plants are important to people because some of the local plants give us things like Miguel so. Exactly. So. But I definitely recommend it for most people. The thing I think is really special is they really go into the history of the most important plants and the cultural significance and you get to see things like the predecessor for Korn that was found here in the valley, and that is one of if not the most important ingredients in food items in all Mexico and a lot of the world, and so there's just a lot of amazing insights and things you can learn about plant life in this really biodiverse state if you're into that kind of thing.

"PGA Pittsburgh podcast referred me believes you should treat movements lifestyle, not just an activity. Are The great things that we've seen since Cova. Nineteen started as if anything could be great with something as bad as that is the fact that more people appear to be moving, especially moving outside which is our preferred method of movement. We've taken advantage of the rails to trails and partner and Philip Pittsburgh Lisa. WHO's behind? The camera has started biking more, and she's not comfortable. Riding on the roads. We spent some time in addition to being on the trails, walking and jogging some time riding bikes and one of the things we realized the. The more we bike, the more we look around social media, the more we walk is, there's a whole lot of winding going on with a biker. Saying the walkers get in our way or the runners get in our way and the runners or the Walker. Saying bikers are going too fast, so we thought we'd make this video podcast. You can either share it. We hope you do share it and you can share. Maybe it'll give you some good tips. Maybe you can share it and say look at this idiot. Who's offering these suggestions? So a couple things to remember is we have gems in Pittsburgh these rails to trails, and for the most part, unless somebody gets on it with a car, who shouldn't be it? We don't have to worry about cars having lived. Norfolk Virginia, having lived in Atlanta, Georgia, not having to worry about cars for running or walking or biking is absolutely phenomenal thing, but it doesn't mean that we can forget that we're still in a public place for still sharing so one of the most valuable tips we should remember no matter what we're doing running walking hanging out with our dogs. Taking your kids out is recognized that we're sharing the trail. The International Mountain Bike Association had the Hashtag actually reasonable for Hashtag share the trail way back in the nineteen nineties and think about this when you go out on the trails, even if you're a North Park if you're in South Park if you're Mingo Creek, Park your guest, your guest of the county, your guest of the Montour trail. It's volunteers, so think about what can I do to not only make my experience phenomenal, because movement is a lifestyle, but also make everybody else just some things we've seen in. If we've done these things to anybody who sees it, we apologize. Nobody's perfect errors are made. First thing is just be aware of your surroundings, so I ate listening to music or podcasts. What I run or walk or bike? If you'd like to do that, think about either getting something like trucks bones. They're outside the your headphones, or if you want to use headphones, put one in one year. So that way you can hear somebody calling out saying hey, watch out biker on the left runner passing you something like that not only is it for safety for you? Because nobody thinks anything's GONNA happen to them until it happens, but it also is being collegial and being nice to other people and really sharing the trail. On those same tokens, a lot of people like to get outdoors because they want to get away from all that noise in society. You know if you're if you're sitting in traffic. If you're in a bar restaurant is yes, you can do that now. You have a noisy workplace. Being out in nature is a wonderful thing, so if you're thinking maybe I'll just play my phone on speaker. Think again and remember share the trail. Maybe not everybody has your taste in music. I know most of you probably WANNA. LISTEN TO FIT LAB PITTSBURGH, but not everybody else. Else does another thing thing to think about is when you're on. These trails whether there trails or other things being aware of people who are coming behind you whether runners walkers bikers stroller runners I've actually been out running a race by a man. Pushing a stroller ran about fourteen, fifty, five five K was a little embarrassing for me until I found out, he was a lead running with his child, but just be aware, and if you're two or three abreast talking, you see, somebody's coming up behind you kind of be polite and go single file. Same thing if you're coming up on somebody else and you're walking till the brass. They're walking to abreast or their cycling. Two abreast kind of go single file for that. If you're overtaking, people think about it looks like if you're on a bicycle, this is especially common that we've seen when we're running or walking. bicyclists are fast even if you don't think you're going fast when you going ten eleven miles an hour. That's really fast, so maybe try to thread the needle between people if people are passing on the trail kind of hang back a second

These Animal Crossing Switch Console Skins Are Too Cute

"March twentieth animal. Crossing new horizons comes out on Nintendo switch. An animal crossing is one of my favorite games. I have a lot of fun with it I collect all the MINGO. Because I've tried and I don't get it. It's it's definitely depend. It depends on like your what you enjoy playing very much a time management kind of game where you go in you collect little things and you craft things and stuff like that so it's not for everyone it it's not. It's not a universal game. It's definitely for people who like certain types of people love it they do and I do and what what I WanNa talk about right now is that you can preorder a Nintendo switch. Animal Crossing New Horizons Video Game Console in. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen this just a punk by seventeen year old boy. Who So revolted Pastel Blue Green? It's yeah it has all these cute little like the little characters from animal crossing on the outside of the colors. Absolutely adorable I you should see how hard it was for me to not by this. Do you plan will crossing primarily in the switch at this is going to be the first game to come out. That's coming out on March Twenty House. I should give it a try. You think this'll be the best version to play Not necessarily it's definitely got some new gaming features. That might be appealing. But I I again like I wouldn't be surprised if you don't like this type of game. It's very low maintenance. Slow go around collecting things and building little little houses and talking villagers. It's very calming and relaxing in Star. Valley isn't it L. Little. Yeah Yeah Yeah. "mingo" Discussed on Skeptiko - Science at the Tipping Point

"Welcome to skeptical where we explore controversial science and spiritual ability with leading researchers thinkers and their critics i'm your host alex occurs and as many of you know one of the goals of this show is to push take past life regression for example science would of course dismissed the entire phenomena with a wave of the hand and maybe a little gibberish about extras mary claims require extraordinary proof worse yet we'd be told as we often are that it's actually a scam perpetrated by greedy wagers who are looking to exploit the weak and the gullible so how do we push past that blockade that the pseudo skeptics have built well first of all i'd suggest that you need the right kind of guest and i'm thinking and hoping that we might have just that kind of guest today rathi mingo is a psychic in a medium in the UK she specializes in past life regression and shamanic healing work she's going to tell us what that means she comes to us highly recommended by our friend clear broad who documents her own rather amazing experience with kathy in her new book and as a special bonus ness kathy and i were just chatting about kathy has been brave enough an opening up to agree to do stupid enough but she is agreed to try and do some kind of demonstration i don't know how it's going to turn out she's never anything like this we're not like trying to test her in any way because she said i've never done anything like that but i thought since her work is kind of unusual in unique that just to give people to give all of you and me a sense for what it's about we might do a demonstration so with all that cat welcome to skeptical and thank you so much for joining me well thanks thanks for having man hi to everyone at skeptic code that's listening rate awesome you know as i explained to you i kind of have evolved into playing this little game that i called the gupta code jeopardy fabulous this one since my introduction was kind of limited i think the natural place to start is with you and kathy mingo okay while i'm just very old inari hussin that just happens to some people an extraordinary joke i think he is i just think while i do is very natural i do need to put caveat i don't actually call myself a medium but when i'm in someone's rick failed so that's what i would do i worked free someone's bioplastic or failed so the energy around the aura and by just as a byproduct sometimes quite often people pasta come into i mean it's a byproduct of what i can i jump in there with the question because i think that there is you say that in such matter of fact way no it's great it's great i love that because that's where we wanna go but i think then we need to step back and say what is your understood handing of an aura come how might your understanding of an or a be different than you know some of the other stuff you hero out there in terms of other people and they talk about auras or or a cameras or ask you do you have any understandings of that that are different then what people might normally encounter and then related to that why do you think that's real when did that come into your experience that there is what you think okay loan so they sai odor it's quick as i can so i was trained as slight progression therapists through hit me versus that's where my training came from so i was working in shock who crest and the medium has not shown up that day so i was on would you fill in and i saw like during this kind of so i have to try everything i'm like i am kind of so i will give anything ago homes the foul so this man turned up and i said to him all i know and all i could understand that i needed to do was to lie down so i could through his work failed i see it as a failed of cone some energy around the body that houses information ice from the past and from the future i'd say it like i say as a holographic fair if you will let me push on that a little bit neither because i'm just really interested when you say that's how you see it is that because that's how you were trained an i wasn't trying to oh so what was that experience like then i mean that whole experience deconstruct it's incredibly interesting i mean first of all how do you wind up in a class for pesci progression question story for that my whole life isn't my whole life is being series of entwined synchronicity the had i not listen to that which i wouldn't be wearing now so i'm very open on if i'm gone on universal fly with you will otherwise go with it so i was a kid i was i'm a crop circle fan so i was in wiltshire on top of hail i didn't know what i was doing with my life and i actually put my hands up to universal went can you give me a bit of a clue time from my holiday and only of my flats from the door for a price folks was an invitation to do past life regression therapy so i called them and i went i have no idea how you've got my address because i never signed up for this the women sir since you went you know at she'll might database great i'll sign up because i just thought that was i'd asked so i went and did possible progression through training through hypnosis that was what i initially they date the testicle i know well no it's not just it is fantastical devon gently it does correspond with so many stories we've heard in the past about synchronicity these few of us including myself have been brave enough to always follow those synchronous desirable sometimes we look back and go wow why didn't i trust that more the is it is no doubt a profound coincidence i i'd even let's we're gonna keep peeling back the layers here when you say you're a crappy and you don i appreciate that on one hand on the other hand it's not damn it i mean it seems to be something very very important to you and the larger question of what's going on with crop circles is incredibly important we've done a couple of shows on them and people that have have the the one thing that i get about crop circles that i think is worth exploring is that if we separate the crop circles for a minute from their origin in terms of their assumed origin are cheap comes down in this craft and get back to something that so many people have ported and and kinda demonstrated in some ways is that there is some connection to extended consciousness that even comes through being in these crops rickles they are both of a portal for this extended realm whatever that extended is and there in between this physical realm and they are so well i guess we have to peel back there and say what is your understanding of what a crop circle is and what is your connection to crop circles okay so my belief system is my is very it's a contentious subject crop circles especially in the crop circle communities health there are some that are definitely my mate i one hundred percent that what's interesting is when i've heard crops may get some of them are not salon i will get told them from the man made section that same rule might manmade and then there's the other section that say that none of them are man made i do feel that they disinformation i should we've been to perhaps as with everything away again and and people go nuts when i do this all the time but i i'm sorry so many of the things he said there are super important one of the things that i learned when i first started investigating crop circles even the distinctions you're making become very blurred in terms of god yet made verses not man made because if what we found is when we really go push the people who admit to them being man made they say yeah it was man made but you know what it was kinda strange woke up out of a dream at two AM in the morning and i had the image that i should this jig this complex geometric image that i should go put in a field and i did it now that man made in the usual way we about it i suppose my major and they way that they formation is laid down physically but i know that there is on i know that there's consciousness that happens within crop circles may crop circles many of the crop circle makers signed up there is her no more i think it's noble but let's just hope paranormal for the sake of this conversation they they have things that have cameras don't what they do have i have manifested the crop circle myself but i think we'll talk about later on manifested a cliff dismiss it was i connecting among made conscious as one of the one of the crops could make the i do know said he's got a pencil i love that because they wherever they come from it's coming from consciousness i believe it's a very interesting and important point there because would you say god's pencil that puts us in a different direction than does the explanation then i don't want to get away from the t explanation because we want to we don't know what that means either but it is a pigeon hole we might want to go to what if we return to your story then okay there's some kind of spiritual transformative experience for you that was associated with you being in this crop circle or being part of crop circle community or experienced lately absolutely my whole spirit schlink's assistance i think into in synchronicity because maybe the area the crop circles are in this world which is very special which is that day which was the beauty there was a lot of phone transcendent energy that was going on you can sometimes if you lay down long enough if the former allows 'cause there's also the the cost of los crop and everything else that goes into it there's all kinds of found time slip i'm not saying alien i'm just saying you can sometimes lose time in the way that i think is very negative it's is transferred transformative the metaphor it that would be my when i stood there will not here which was on milk which is very famous crop circles and put my arms up i didn't expect the the answer would be you know we expect an answer right way don't rely going down with whoever gives us his crayon sir but sometimes time doesn't work so i had to look at this leaflet from this past life regression college which i've never even contacted and felt right when i need to go down that which i did so picking up on your story this is great stuff kathy this is great stuff so picking back up on the story incredible coincidence right there's the league you call up your name isn't even on the list act three times i'm answering lately and then the further coincidence that you're in a class and i mean it just would sound bizarre if we didn't have the rest of the story that the teacher would pick up leave one day and say kathy you take over and he would proceed to just kind of do this orrick kind of thing i don't even know that you're trained to do but it happens the other thing i find interesting i'd like you to expound upon a little bit is that you seem to press assist this as energy and then you even through quantum energy and we're not even going to go there because we don't know exactly what that means fair enough but i take it that that's how you are variances this you're not experiencing the voice of god you didn't see the virgin mary you didn't see any of that you saw lights and energy around person what do you think that means number one and number two how has that kind of unfolded in proven itself to you.

and there in between this physical realm and they are so well i guess we have to peel back there and say what is your understanding of what a crop circle is and what is your connection to crop circles okay so my belief system is my is very it's a contentious subject crop circles especially in the crop circle communities health there are some that are definitely my mate i one hundred percent that what's interesting is when i've heard crops may get some of them are not salon i will get told them from the man made section that same rule might manmade and then there's the other section that say that none of them are man made i do feel that they disinformation i should we've been to perhaps as with everything away again and and people go nuts when i do this all the time but i i'm sorry so many of the things he said there are super important one of the things that i learned when i first started investigating crop circles even the distinctions you're making become very blurred in terms of god yet made verses not man made because if what we found is when we really go push the people who admit to them being man made they say yeah it was man made but you know what it was kinda strange woke up out of a dream at two AM in the morning and i had the image that i should this jig this complex geometric image that i should go put in a field and i did it now that man made in the usual way we about it i suppose my major and they way that they formation is laid down physically but i know that there is on i know that there's consciousness that happens within crop circles may crop circles many of the crop circle makers signed up there is her no more i think it's noble but let's just hope paranormal for the sake of this conversation they they have things that have cameras don't what they do have i have manifested the crop circle myself but i think we'll talk about later on manifested a cliff dismiss it was i connecting among made conscious as one of the one of the crops could make the i do know said he's got a pencil i love that because they wherever they come from it's coming from consciousness i believe it's a very interesting and important point there because would you say god's pencil that puts us in a different direction than does the explanation then i don't want to get away from the t explanation because we want to we don't know what that means either but it is a pigeon hole we might want to go to what if we return to your story then okay there's some kind of spiritual transformative experience for you that was associated with you being in this crop circle or being part of crop circle community or experienced lately absolutely my whole spirit schlink's assistance i think into in synchronicity because maybe the area the crop circles are in this world which is very special which is that day which was the beauty there was a lot of phone transcendent energy that was going on you can sometimes if you lay down long enough if the former allows 'cause there's also the the cost of los crop and everything else that goes into it there's all kinds of found time slip i'm not saying alien i'm just saying you can sometimes lose time in the way that i think is very negative it's is transferred transformative the metaphor it that would be my when i stood there will not here which was on milk which is very famous crop circles and put my arms up i didn't expect the the answer would be you know we expect an answer right way don't rely going down with whoever gives us his crayon sir but sometimes time doesn't work so i had to look at this leaflet from this past life regression college which i've never even contacted and felt right when i need to go down that which i did

"How the league is changing. At least they're learning and know the NFL way to me there's a little bit more to that than saying this guy worked with a lot of really good quarterbacks. Let's now make him a head coach in the NFL where it is different than being a head coach in college. I think we would all agree with that question. So I don't know. I it again, this may work incredibly well, and it may not. But here's a guy got fired in college. And no other college was going to hire him as head coach. And now he's a head coach in the NFL. So while I get the outside the box thinking, and I get the association with quarterbacks nowadays. My looks would be at those coordinators in the NFL who have worked in the NFL and understand the NFL lingo. Weekday mornings at six eastern on ESPN radio and ESPN two.
