"Played out is Hoof pretty remarkable going back too. When I was the word I was trying to come up with before the 10 o'clock news. Had a bunch of you lit up the text line with it. I was talking about the masks. We wear a mask different types of masks. Then I was referencing that neck thing. To call the Dickey. Because it's funny, and I'm a child. But I know the word I was looking for was buff. A buff B u F F, which is also called a Gator, a neck, Gaiter. Which is the same thing as a buff. Buff necked Gator. Now, others said, You're talking about a balaclava balaclava not to be confused with baklava. There's two separate things. Similar spelling different pronunciation. Two very different things, but I would just say it looks like a balaclava. Is a form of head cloth headgear designed to expose on ly part of the face like your eyes and mouth, so It's a ski mask is what a balaclava is, but I was talking a buff. Get a neck Gaiter. Where did they come up with a name? Gator. Maybe that was an initial. Brand of some sort. I have no idea, but it's not a balaclava, and it's not a baklava for that matter. The last thing you want us to wear something over your face that Leaves your mouth exposed again. The point of the mask has covered the mouth of the most today is the Brewers home opener, which I know we said that on Friday and then he said it for a while on Saturday. And then Saturday night came around and they said, You know what? We're just not going to play baseball at all this weekend, But today is the Brewers home. Open it 60 degrees. Who knows what it will be. A first pitch tonight on the roof will be closed, but This is much more like Brewer's home opener. Weather is it not? Cloudy, rainy Sixties. It got me to thinking of Opening day again. Opening day is the first day of baseball sometimes opening days at home, Sometimes not so home opener but home opener memories Now I have not been I can count on one hand the number of home openers. And I've attended over the years. I'm not a big home opener. I'm gonna call it opening day. If you will. I'm not a big opening day guy. Just because let's be honest, Many of you will agree with me. It's amateur hour. Okay? I mean, I can only take so much. Public drunkenness, public urination, You know, Before I go, this is not baseball. There's 80 normally. Normally there's 81 of these and you have opening day and then you have 80 other games. And I will go to many of the other 80. I don't know. Maybe I'm just a fuddy duddy and just cantankerous, which I am, but At any rate, so I don't have a lot of a lot of opening days home openers to from which to draw When it comes to my memories, But I do have a memory and I wasn't there. But when you say Milwaukee opening day when you say Milwaukee Brewers home opener There is one game for me anyway. One date that immediately comes to mind something that while it is Several decades old. Still And I know many of you were there, and if you weren't you'll remembered as well. When you say Brewer's opening day, this still comes to mind the story. Of the Brewers opening day 1997. Do you remember the opener of 1997? If not, I'll refresh your memory when we come back..

"Fifteen to twenty twenty for human trafficking, and that's not the whole city. Those seventy calls are from five hotels. Sixty five arrests related to human trafficking occurred round this area on a single stretch of road. Again, that's not the entire one stretch of road. The did have a dedicated human trafficking task force that addressed four areas of concern, public awareness, service, provision, education, and legislation. As far as we can find this task force. After they were created there made their final report in two thousand and twelve astute conspiracy realist. You'll note that that final report in two thousand twelve occurs three years before that horrifying stat about just how many trafficking calls are happening in just one area of town. So it appears that there are clusters their hubs, and you know I think it's still a stretch to accuse the authorities of being complicit in this by. By clearly, there, attempts to address it have at the very least not one hundred percent of -ffective is that a fair way to say I think it absolutely is a to take an even a little further. Maybe even backtrack. Slightly you know the the situation here with the police force being stretched thin because of events going on elsewhere in the city. Really do feel like you know different enough that maybe that. That led to the delay in response. It doesn't feel like it was a willful delay to me, but I see what you're saying Matt, like you know if this is a known sex trafficking area or with that problem general that maybe they would take the report more seriously without having to check those amber alert boxes is that I think what the the the discussion is here oh as in like. If the two girls who went missing in June of this year, if the report was that they were in that area, they would have been taken seriously. So I'm wondering I don't know. I'm just wondering like if the police were being derelict because of their knowledge about sex trafficking being such a problem in the city and they didn't take these calls seriously enough. What would have maybe led them to take it more seriously. I mean that like how could they have done a better job in this situation? I guess is what I'm asking. That's tough because according to the police, they did take it seriously and they responded immediately and began investigating right at least according to them. Right. Yeah. You know we know. Especially living in Atlanta. that. Cities, police departments across the United States in the world really. Appear at least according to the statistics in two personal experience to have issues with responding. To, missing black people to murdered black people like in the same way that they would respond to someone who's not black, who is either missing or murdered? Timeout. The Atlanta child murders says I'm young referring to that as one of the SAGAS that the country in in people that have gone through where loved ones disappear, and then there doesn't seem to be much action taken in whether that whether that lack of action is perceived or real. It doesn't really matter to the individual who has a missing loved one bright. Yeah. Yeah. I think that's a good point, and also if we journey a little bit further away from the official narrative, we see some distressing claims. The. Milwaukee Independent has some largely unsubstantiated claims I'm not saying they're not true. I'm saying I couldn't find multiple sources confirming but they. They've some unsubstantiated claims that the entire set of stories I should say has yet to be released to the public, and they say, is also hard evidence of trafficking occurring at this site just south of Washington Park in specific quote they A. Some papers were recovered including. What was allegedly since the document has not been released a schedule of what time the girls were solicited out and the name of someone who is connected to the operation. They did they did it. They then named this person. Who they say is they believe as the property owner of the residents, a disaster recovery specialist who had been again allegedly working as a spiritual leader for children at local youth camps and Ben just to clarify the site that we're talking about here in reference to is this the home that was burned or is this that area where the hotels were We're we actually talking about. That's yeah. That's why say that's why I said. said a set of stories. What we notice here is that there are three stories occurring. That's what I would categorize this as the first story is the story of two missing children who are thankfully found alive. The second story is the story of a House that burned down and was believed to be a hobby of human trafficking by some people by civilians in Milwaukee and the third larger story in which those two earlier stories take place is the tragic tale of human trafficking in Milwaukee overall best evidenced by that terrifying report of the trafficking conspiracy occurring in just one part of town unrelated I would say possibly related. It depends on how far you think these kind of webs. But again, you know in Milwaukee Independent, we have to I want to emphasize I did not find additional evidence the papers that they're talking about. Their. Alleging that police investigators when they entered the house at Twenty one hundred block there there say that the investigators found papers there and just have it released them to the public and then the house burned down. So. According to. The latest reports, we could find the the police did. Do Suspect. For people of arson as big question. Probably, a lot of our fellow listeners are wondering right who started the fire. The. We didn't start the fire the. One of the four suspects in the arson has been arrested. Police were still looking for the rest as of the end of June that may have changed. But. Again, we have a happily ever after ending here. At least partially, these children were found, they were able to return to their families, but there's a bizarre part of the story. No one knows where they were for three days. Imagine you have fifteen year old? A thirteen year old. Gone for three days. I have never been in charge of a teenager. I assume. That's, abnormal. Anyone, who does have children out there or maybe if you're even imagining having a child at some point in Your Life It's hard to know what you would do. To make sure that child is safe to get them back. If you think they're missing, you know I don't WanNa, put you on the spot. Noel but doing as the father. Of You, know. She's what they call a tween Matt. But? Yeah. No, it's true I. Mean. Honestly, she does a lot of this cost play stuff and.

Trump Says He'll 'Probably' Deliver Convention Speech From White House
"Were in the middle of a pandemic, right? So this campaign for president is a different sort of an animal. And you're not going to see big campaign rallies. Maybe just have a couple 100 people at their convention site in Milwaukee, all Social distancing Vice President Biden announced today that he will not even go Till Milwaukee to deliver his acceptance speech. Cognizant of the pandemic, the virus. And obviously this is a blow Donald Trump. Cause all Trump cares about is getting up in front of people. He likes to watch TV. He likes to be on TV. He likes to be in front of people at one of those big old rallies. So you take away the rally from Trump You take away the big convention. From Trump. And you leave him. With an ideal like this. That is so wrong. Trump can't deliver a big convention speech. So he's considering delivering his acceptance speech at the White House. On the south one No, I said earlier on a bunch of people have said our number by the way. 844305 78 100 very well may be illegal. It may be a violation number one of the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal officials from engaging in political activities. The Hatch Act typically exempt the president and the vice president. But not any other official any other White House staffer any other official Ah federal official in Donald Trump's administration. So you're delivering a speech on the South Lawn of the White House, and you got a couple 100 of your White House staffers and executive branch officials there on the lawn, the White House as you deliver a campaign speech. That will clearly I'll be a violation of the Hatch Act for each and every one of them. The second law that maybe broken is you cannot use official government property for political for campaign purposes. I know there's no better violation of that. Then using the White House to deliver A campaign nomination acceptance speech.

Keep moving or hit the brakes breaks. While playing an exhibition game against the royals, three Astros were plunked Jalen. Do you think this is retribution? The cheating scandal? Absolutely this is what happens. When not only you get caught and win a world series in Corbu. Those players are still on that same squad. May! These all seem very intentional and I am here for it I love the idea that every time the astros go new ballpark step in the batter's box. They're going to be worried about getting hit. It's better than nothing, but I'm interested to see exactly what will be allowed? The same thing happened with the back of jerseys. It came out. Oh, you can have a decal there. "I mean do. Do you have a sense of like what losing what would be? What is it like almost a quarter of the season what that would mean to league revenues individual teams the salary cap? Has Anybody done the back of the envelope? Math on that yet. Not Really I mean. I think we're all doing it and it's all happened very very quickly. I can tell you it'll be lower run but we're talking at tens of millions hundreds of millions. It's going to be a large number. I just don't know what the number is. Yeah I think we're all trying to figure that out it's hard to project just simply because you really don't know what you're going to be missing. Yeah right so I think everybody's GonNa be spending the next four weeks trying to figure out. Okay what are the different financial impacts for everybody I mean I it impacts I think the players impacts it ends up impacting. Everybody that works for the team. I mean there. There's a lot of people were going to have some pretty major impacts. No doubt take me back to last night for a minute. I mean I don't know about you. Know how everybody else experienced this but I just saw this unfolding on twitter and then eventually running to my TV. To See this strange scene unfolding in Oklahoma with Rudy Gobert and then the cancellation of that game. And then you know the holy trying to come to grips with this and then finally the Kings game being canceled almost the last minute. How did you experience it? How how was your your evening of watching this unfold? Think mine was the same as yours is probably You would have thought I would have had a lot of information I not so much I was wearing my I was with my kids and And their friends and we're talking about what happened at the owners meeting and I said look we're GonNa have another call tomorrow and you know I think Some of the owners wanted hiatus some of the owners try. I gave Richard. We play. You know without without fans and everybody's going to think about it and we're GONNA have a call tomorrow and we'll talk about again and we'll see we'll try to do what's right and then all of a sudden one of my kids said. Hey It looks like the Oklahoma Game is is getting cancelled. I'm like no no no nothing's getting cancelled tonight. It's tomorrow at the early isn't gonNA know actually rudy go. Just tested positive. I'm like what are you talking about? And then all of a sudden everybody just goes to you know I went online and started seeing the same thing you did. Wow and then does. Does the League convey that to you guys? Is there any ability for all the owners to get up to date immediately or do you have to kind of wait for the same channels that we do? You just waited same thing I mean I think I think Adam did the right thing and Adam made a decision. He's the commissioner. He's got the authority to do that. he did what he felt he needed to do for that moment. In time You're not going to be able to have a call with everybody and try to set something up and you know I think Adam Made the right decisions and you know we all heard about it and then you know it was look. We're GONNA have a call tomorrow for us to bring you up to speed of what's going on not sort of what's been happening. It's easy to time like this for us all to play backseat driver and be a little judgmental. And it's always easier to to judge these things after the fact and as you pointed out a few minutes ago mark a week ago we would have thought all of this was ludicrous. If you said we're going to be where we are right now but it's natural to wonder did did the NBA not just the NBA concert. Promoters OTHER SPORTS LEAGUES DID EVERYBODY ACT progressively or assertively enough swiftly enough because this ended up being a decision that was almost made for you guys right like Rudy. Gobert test positive. Okay Dow now. There is no choice to make. This is the only this was the only decision that could be made but earlier in the day it was. Should we play without fans how many you know some owners are okay with it? Some owners are still resisting it. There was all this debate and then boom now now now now. There's no consideration of choice. So how do you? How do you feel about yourself being in the midst of that debate about whether the NBA could have done something differently sooner? She don't think they could have. I think I think if you sort of go back to the week you know on Monday. Everybody was trying to figure out. What's the what should we be doing and you at that time? He didn't really have any health even have any cities or governments or states. That had done anything. It's only when you started hearing. Well wait a minute. Some states are GONNA end. Some cities are going to say. We don't want any x amount of people You started realizing it could become a real issue I think when you southwest by South West God southwest Hansel. Yeah and then you sort of Said. Wait a minute okay. Now we've got to start figuring. Okay what's the right thing for us to do and it just? It moved really really fast. So I'm curious about this mark the the Tamil how you can assess mood or tone when you guys weren't conference calls as opposed to being in the same room discussing all this but give me a sense of the tenor of those discussions to the extent that you can help. How vigorous of that was that debate. I mean obviously we've seen bits and pieces leak out over the last day or so about differing opinions by different owners. Enhancers of how to approach this resistance to playing games without fans and that kind of thing. Can you give me a sense of? Just what the mood of of the group has been than what those debates were like. I think I wouldn't say it was a debate. I think really what it was was. Everybody was voicing their opinion. I think we just went down. The I think everybody sort of You know you'd start with Atlanta and then you went down. You went down the group And everybody's sort of caved their views of what was going on how is affecting their teams so I think it was all a exceptionally friendly. I tell you I don't think there was anything about let. Let's have a debate about it. It's here's here's what I think I I think most people tell the kids sir. I think we could take a hiatus or we really WANNA play without fans. I'm fine either way but the people were fine with both You know some people would say. Look I prefer this one? I prefer hiatus and another one would say you're playing with other fans so I don't think there was really any debate about it was just more. Here's my personal view. I know it sounds weird to say this now but as of yesterday when the when we were just talking about okay. We're going to start having games without fans or at least in San Francisco. That was going to be the case. We're not seeing that now and there's part of me that thought well. That would be really interesting to see so. I know it's almost a perverse thought at this point that everything else. I actually wanted to see where that what that was gonna look like that would have been its own interesting to kind of unique moments in NBA history but maybe one will will never come to pass because obviously things have gotten much more serious than that but it was an interesting thing to ponder for a bit what a game would look like what a quiet game would look like sound like what kind of impact that would have on competition. It's it was interesting to kind of kick around for. Yeah I thought look I thought at the end of the day I think there was a view of. Let's try to have games without fans Because the safety of our hands in the safety of our players number one. And let's see how that goes on if that goes. Well that's great you know then Maybe we'll continue it and if it doesn't go well If we sort of saw like it's not the greatest thing in the world then you could go to that hiatus and we could say we'll wait and I think everybody was sort of thinking the same thing I mean. I think he saw the NCAA and she was doing that People are thinking all right. Look that that's probably the next step and then you quickly near we all went from. That's the next step to. That's not even a possibility. Yeah quickest side here. I want to get back on a second. But you're arenas also scheduled to host the Democratic National Convention in July. Obviously that's that's even further out so there's even more uncertainty so it's even more ludicrous for me to ask the question but I assume it's too soon to tell whether that will go off as planned or what other considerations may go into it. I think it should be fine for one. Simple reason. Let's take as a given I know very little about medicine so but from what I've seen if you take a look at China this is like a two to three month process. Where from sort of when you start seeing the infections and for it to sort of reached peak and then for it to break you know to sort of break and for people feeling all right. It looks like it's fine to go there. I think the Chinese premier went to Wuhan You know three or four days ago So it it seems like a sixty day day process so I was looking at that for the convention. I would tell you I guess. During that time period. That should be fine but again. I don't know. I obviously the city of Milwaukee. Wisconsin are going to say that. It's fine to have gatherings of more than five hundred people so it's not really going to be my decision so they will ultimately end up making that decision for all of us when they think it's safe.

"Come true to be an intern for the Pistons. As you grow and you around it and you see them work every day and you start to actually understand what it means to be in fun office in in professional sports you start learning things and try to pick up things and observe people and there's many things that I learned from Joe in early on for sure new off. I'm going to do this. I can't be Joe all the reasons you just said the things that I could do. I thought I could do that. Joe was amazing at is. He has amazing tact he. He has a mazing composure employs and he's incredibly intelligent. And Yon that had this presence that I'll never build a match that he carried with all that and that's why he's the great executive give they he is quite frankly But his his poise in his patients in tact in his timing Really been unmatched in in something. Something I learned from him early on and is really a pleasure to work with a guy like that in a franchise you just mentioned that back to back. NBA Finals. I think six straight Eastern Conference finals six hundred fifty. When when seasons you Rochester College in Michigan you decided to spend a summer on campus? You had to get a part time job and and you did what every year that. I was Russia Scott. I had to get a part time job To to stay at Rochester College my first year I went into the newspaper when in the newspaper jobs and there was one that they were paying twelve bucks an hour. I'm like that's that's a lot of money in. It happened to be at a trailer park so I quickly became the head maintenance guy at a trailer park making twelve dollars an hour and they let me work. Basically as many hours I need to or could all summer it. It's funded my college year for the next four years after that. I work every summer at the trailer park in in maintenance and H- you can imagine what maintenance means and in what what what does maintenance in a trailer park. I mean from from lawn care to a site. PREP IN POURING CONCRETE to cleaning out the the trailers after people have visited to painting to Shingling to just kind of on and on and on and so I grew up in a kind of a farming background around my family. I came from a family that that farmed. I grew up in a small community Parents that that renovated homes Probably every three or four years I lived in seven different homes uh-huh in the same community kind of growing up because we're flipping houses to kind of afford houses and so I luckily knew how to do a lot of those things. I actually enjoyed doing a lot of things that now. It's hard to find time to do anything with my hands in a handyman. But I I like it when I can but what was the worst thing you came across in a trailer a trailer home that had been abandoned victim. A family moved out. What was the worst thing you saw? Just I would just say if you've ever watched the show hoarders right like it's real and and trailers are smaller in in confined areas and just mess a lot of people's awesome personal stuff and just go in there with the mask on in garbage bags and just start throwing stuff out was quite an experience quite humbling experience. But something I'm grateful for I I mean I I got paid really well to do it literally did allow me to stay in college. I spent a summer as a custodian at a middle school and one of the jobs was was a take a razor blade and go through all the desks and you had to scrape the gun. All off the bond with I never ever put gum under a desk again. You don't do that. Someone's gotTa scrape it off. That was There's no jobs to have like him. Better go to school. I can't that's right. I'm not what I'm not built to work a real job that's right and I still haven't so But the idea of sort of getting your arms around all the responsibilities fonts abilities. I like Sam said this to me. Once in this way is like there's a reason they call it general manager like the word emphasis on general. And that until you sit in that that seat even as close as you might have worked with John Hammond in Milwaukee and your years together with him until you sit in that seat are you. Maybe a little oblivious to how many people want a piece of you in any given day from so many different areas inside outside an organization undoubtedly i. I believe I call John Shortly after that I had no idea and I probably told him. A number of time cents it's it's the greatest honor the greatest responsibility that anyone on a professional track career track that I was on can have. It's a massive responsibility. That being said in Sam I think is exactly right. We generally manage every single day in. It's it's managing up managing down as managing crossed. And and if you're doing it the right way I think you're doing it in every facet of the organization because you care about having a relationship in a partnership with the business side Peer Fagin team president is a great partner and I can't do anything without talking to him and he doesn't do anything talking because it matters. We worked together in the same thing with Baden on the coaching side and Troy Flanagan on the performance side relationships are players relationship with your agent's agents managing up to your owners every single day and then having talked about my staff my direct staff in the front office and so it's it's really remarkable to to see how many people are stakeholders invested in this big. Cog this big machine professional sports. And it's a humbling thing to be one of the people that are responsible. Keep it moving forward. It's a it's a great responsibility. Something I've hopefully continue to get better better at every day. John when you're trying to get a decision made big small mall somewhere in between and your ownership structure isn't singular. There's other teams that have multiple partners but the board of governor. The governor changes each five years with your group. And how is that in trying to do because they don't always agree on things and to be able to get them on board with something and then moved to the other places you need to get people blunt board like. How does that impact decisions that have made you know? The great thing is is they have been tremendous sounding boards more than anything and I mean that must level of respect pretty much every step of the way Really really big decisions are longer conversations more more in depth analysis But at the end of the day in intimidated hired by Dakota team and they might want to have discussions they might WanNa have have opinions and they do have opinions bud coaches the team in Peter runs the business. I run the basketball and at the end of the day they take our recommendations they allow was to make strong recommendations. Well thought out recommendations we have great conversations. Sometimes they all agree sometimes they all disagree. Sometimes they all agree with me or disagree with me but at the end of the the day they allow us to make the decisions and our professional areas and therefore be responsible for the results of the decisions. And I think that's all you can ever ask for when you say bud coaches the team that means in your mind. What won't you do with a head coach that maybe some others do some other organizations do in in terms of input what are like? Where's the line where you say? That's buds realm and and I don't feel like I can cross into it for me in. It's I'm so grateful and thankful for the relationship that we've built and are continuing to build the respect that he has from my position in the things that I do likewise me for him what I will do is we'll have conversations. Most most often in private will talk about stuff more. Just hey I have an idea. I've thought about this rethought and he does the same with me on the roster. What I'll never do is challenged him or question him In a public setting in emily not in a private setting he is an expert the two time NBA NBA coach of the year is taken to different franchises. Sixty plus winds part. You mentioned seventeen years of spurs part of four championships. He's our coach. That's his job. And he's great at it and and and he makes his decision. He's responsible decisions just like I am but but I think what we do with each other. Is We bounce ideas off each other. We share ideas. We have thoughts. We have opinions sometimes time strong opinions on today. We rely on each other for our own professional areas. The issue of tampering has been at the forefront the league the last few ears the league put in some stricter penalties in the off season. I'm not sure not sure anybody thinks that there's really a way to police. He's all that goes on. You know you know what you're up against you know. Every team in the League wants certainly every big market wants to believe they have a chance to sign the MVP and fees potentially free agent at the end of next season if he doesn't sign an extension this summer. How do you approach that idea? Do you feel like you have to be vigilant. Do you like what. What are the bugs do to combat it if if anything? Yeah not to not to be boring but I think it goes back to what we said. Twenty five minutes ago about building a culture billion environment sustained in an environment where are players have a chance to win at the highest level in love coming to work every single day. If we can do that. We've done what we're supposed to do in this business and I don't think we can really they focus on too much more worried about too much more and I think players that one win at the highest level. WanNa enjoy work and care about that first and foremost Appreciate shape that respect that and I think ultimately will reward teams that do that. The big markets small-market challenges that exist. He'll isn't isn't like your geographies your geography and there's pluses and negatives based on what everybody wants in every situation. What has has to be in place when you are a non destination free agent market to know that like you've given yourself every chance to to make a player like you honestly I don't need to go somewhere else to find what it is that I want you? I would ask you question. What defines a destination for your market? I would say a place that when you have Max cap space you could go get the a list free agent now. What you guys have done a tremendous job of in free agency are with role players? CAL like you competed with everybody in the League for there wasn't a contender who didn't want how Korva right and obviously had a relationship with them and played form and the idea of playing with the honest and all those things I would say a destination market to me by definition would be that. There was a few years ago when now Greg Monroe came to Milwaukee you beat the Lakers were involved in the Knicks. Were involved and we can argue about the level of the time. He was a sought after free agent. But like if we say it's let's look at last..

"Grandfather clock that hang down you know who needs some that badly the aimed the cannon at obviously aiming probably not a huge part I mean you have clock weights just general vicinity there's a bunch of people the aim the cannon at Byron kilborn home on the other side of the river yes yes yes bill. AC wheeler quote I saw that Byron Kilborn was the obnoxious the person to whom the unthinking populous attributed all their mischief I knew that the mob if once put in motion would shrink from no violence that the crowd would commit every unlawful act perhaps even murder as a mop but then a lawyer named Jonathan Arnold jumped up and stood on top the Cannon Fire Fuck this Guy I'm a lawyer definitely fire the they didn't tell the noise and Commotion Calm Down People were listening and then furious and then he announced that just that morning kilborn daughter had died and her body was now laying in the house and then everyone everyone's anger dissipated a little bit well that sucks is he is okay as doing is it's hard very hard day knows daughters dead he's not good so dumb question yeah how long until attack a ball five days seems like pretty grieving process we'll give him eight days I think that seems Pharaoh very nice but then nobody tell him this no in just over a week he'll have no idea we're gonNA fire all these we've over we'll come back here just this past okay I mean there's no way he saw the hundreds of people and the candidate pointed at his house right exactly yeah it's a tragedy when a parallel less they're all right let's get out of here all right stay fired up everybody let's be back today just to Kinda stoke the flames a little what he say get re pissed so the crowd dissipated and bullshit maybe and Arnold tried to speak to their common decency quote he appealed to them as American and as citizens as fathers and while he did not exonerate those overstep the limits of discretion already he boldly branded the man who would dare you tear a father from the corpse of his child as a coward and savage unworthy the safeguards that civilization had well here's a word vouchers safed reason came back sorry reason came and took the place of impulse the more violent felt ashamed and when Mr Arnold appeared from the temporary rostrum the crisis had been averted okay so he com is a lawyer yeah it was agreed that the the comeback at four pm dave what time is it now like three ten it's the more it's very early in the morning all right let's give him some space meet back here at five hours then we'll kill him your plan and if your plan was to shoot clock weights into his house his daughter was like you were going to maybe kill his daughter yeah okay but that's better than her being dead and you hitting her body was stuff it's a weird line but I guess a Milwaukee at the time we had so the crowd did return at exactly four PM and once again were an angry mob emotional has ever but then the board the trustee board called the meeting for that evening and everyone calm down and went to the meeting and without discussing it with any of the core representatives they made it illegal to cut remove or damage any bridges the penalty would be a fifty dollars fine and five days in jail so there's really very little stopping you removing bridges still who's a little way very little stopping you from removing bridges again yeah well Phil Finds Pretty Heavy but if you're kilborn near like fuck that true okay who does it physically would be in trouble sure kilmore has got the money to pay the fine arts letter published in the Gino town paper attacked equal are outrageous acts of a few ruffians in the West Ward and said they should rebuild the chestnut street bridge solid and permanent and sweep away all the other bridges he also called Byron a dictator it was signed quote a tax payer uh almost one percent with psalm yeah for sure he's putting little accents on the ease we're pretty sure we know who this is for the next several days all bridges were guarded by armed men as settlers on both sides of the river attempted to tear bits and pieces off each other's bridges it's your bridge it's all your bridge you share the fucking thing will you know they'll show them take that bridge doc wait my mind is little wait no it works that were that's your bridge Murphy bridge bridge show him when they take part of bridget can't even hear me stacey looking at me hearing in the midst of this chaos a candy store capital a candy store that's a candy store captain auto that's an auto correct it says cancer capital is but that's not what happened can't candy store capitalized so candy store we have a candy that'll help bridge flavored chocolate I'm an alcoholic Ah a candy store owner published what will be the first of several ads in the courier quote to the excitement between the East and West wards runs high we have charged our soda fountain to the muzzle to be ready for the incursions from the West Ward if any of the belligerents from that side should have the Temerity.

"He's trying to sell it so he doesn't he would never say that no of course not why be honest it's bad business. Despite the rivalry these settlements Jon Kilgore town and walkers point which is on the South side ignoring because he didn't really get involved in this miss he was very clear shut out of the party were incorporated into a single Milwaukee territory in eighteen thirty nine Byron aggressively restricted entry to his side of the river and made it very hard for Solomon settlers to cross so essentially you can't everything's fine essentially anyone go he wants anyone to go there but nobody from Juno town that's right okay interesting just again not how cities work Juneau towners trapped between the river and the lake but they often needed to access the west west side so to get across or maybe the east side so to get across the Milwaukee River settlers either had to row across take a ferry or county or county Oh okay once wrote quote the river is a fine thing as I expected but when you have to cross three or four times daily on a log it ceases to be enjoyment sorry even for this time who is this person you just gave me three options that seem pretty viable I like I'll tell you what I hate grocery shopping on a log raft what all right I got the eggs I'm GonNa go back and get the flower then we make cake in two more trips after that Sir would you like to rent a log. it'd be three eggs the eggs I bought such a stupid thing we're doing stupid here the eggs I guess I gotTa go shopping so quote the rivers defined thing as I expected but when you have to cross a three or four times daily log it ceases to be an enjoyment I often wish I was in Detroit. You don't hear that anymore that's change certainly changed the Juno towners grew frustrated and began demanding bridges be built yes most migrants Constan were poor people Byron wrote about a group getting off a ship quote you have of course some experience in the motley character of the multitude constituting the past injure of a steamboat but yet such collection of Tom Dick and Dutch and the devil what this really weird turn it Tom Dick just voter names and the devil I presume you never did see as we have had on board so bar wanted to build a canal sure right people in Juneau town greatly opposed it as it would favor kilborn town Scher so things became heated that a bank director who is an opposition to the canal was burned in effigy at a rally after Bairam relic speech this is getting a little aggressive these people fired up by the canals directors like I'm sorry they did what what of me I'm just a bag director I just don't like the canal we're going to kill you burn you we're going to burn you baked victor you will give us fucking canal it's not up to me works we'll tell us we gotta burn no can we rent a log no no we're not somebody has to die yes During elections people from the Anti Canal Party kept winning and eventually the canal project was abandoned due to cost but Byron had lost thirty thousand to get the project going okay but the main reason that failed was because Byron did not at all work well with other people that's weird because everything I've heard makes it seem like he's really cool guy to get along with I know that was a surprise it seems easy going in eighteen forty was Solomon Support the Wisconsin territorial legislature ordered. Milwaukee where have they been were they at any point like what says is fucking insane don't do this anymore I assume the towns all over the place they're fighting so this is really insane though this is like the warriors it's not normal now okay so entered the Milwaukee Milwaukee County to build a quote good and substantial drawbridge because the ferry system was considered inadequate fire in kilborn was really against it he claimed that bridges were hazardous to ships visiting docks but in reality they threatened his control of travel and trade in the walking Isn't that a terrible argument like one where you're like we will build it above it's a bridge and we're not talking about putting a street in the river this is an elevated road they work now it is how they work and they're not sure why they're called boat killers it's never been a thing that anyone has ever said because it's not at all a thing all the time never sat here comes the boat killer you're the only person who said it and that's three times this will be a bridge this is above however the show me your biggest will build it higher than that no yes yes you this is not how this works demanded flawed and not good they go they sink that has nothing to do with the bridge and I honestly don't even think you're arguing anymore bridges and boats have been at war for hundreds of years I sir not about to be part of that war I would like to wade casualties and death that you're bridge will because you are going to build a murder bridge it's an elevated road I rest my case I just fucking asshole the verse bridge was built on Chestnut Street Byron finally conceded when one of his close supporters argued that it was hard to get to the courthouse which was in Juneau town so Byron agreed as long as he never had to share the costs of any quote east side improvements on the bridge but the people of Juneau town.
