"De it is one and done this year for the Milwaukee Brewers in the post season they drop the NL wild card game to the nationals by a final score of four to three last night the burners did take a three one lead into the bottom of the eighth inning Josh hater proceeded to load the bases in part due to his lack of commands the ending though may have been extended by a blown call by the umpiring crew Washington's Michael Taylor was awarded a base after being hit by a pitch the pitch though pretty clearly looked like it hit the knob of his back first here's a you're describing what he saw on the play I definitely got the bad but also got his hand so you know the ruling on the fair was hit by a pitch in this this is probably wasn't enough to return it after a prolonged discussion the umpiring crew stuck with the hit by pitch ruling one Soto drove in the game when he runs for batters later on so does go ahead single Bruce right fielder Trent Gresham let the ball get past him in the outfield that ultimately allowed the winning run to score Grisham knows this one's gonna hurt for a while it's been heard and expected her and when I really kinda deportation going off season well the Los obviously stings burrs manager Craig Counsell provided some perspective after the game this is a game you think about for awhile and of course right gonna think about this game because these opportunities are hard to come by it's it's hard to put yourself in the playoffs and get yourself calls to win in a row all while Kerr game so it's gonna staying as it should as we expect but I still get laughs with just how we accomplished what we did

"It then back to Milwaukee if you need to for game six and seven, what that does for the Milwaukee Brewers is it makes it difficult for them to use Josh hater a lot Josh or did not pitch back to back very often in the regular season. He did it maybe five or six times, obviously in the play offs, there's a higher likelihood that Josh hater does that, but the dodgers what do we know about the dodgers? What do they do really? Well, they work counts. They build up pitcher workloads vary significantly. So I think the bullpen attrition here in this series for the brewers is their biggest downfall because Milwaukee has a great bullpen, but that bullpens wanna to get a lot of work here in this series. One of the things about the dodgers that gets overlooked, especially when you talk about playoff time is that they work a lot accounts, which means you turn the lineup over a lot faster. They draw a lot of walks. The analytics based teams are paying a lot of. Attention to that third time through the order penalty. One is that mean for the brewers? Well, it means that if they get four, four and two-thirds something like that from a starter, it's going to be a big time boost for them. They're going to be very happy to get four and two thirds at a time from their starting pitchers there. They'll probably have a bullpen game or two at some point in this series as well, like the brewers attrition rate in the bullpen. Is this going to be way too high in this series and the dodgers don't have that same problem. You know you've got Clayton Kershaw. Yes, he's had playoff problems, but he can work deep into games. You trust him, hunt Jin Ryu. Does it walk anybody? Good. Strikeout rate this year did battle some injury problems. You can trust him to work deep into a game, Walker bueller. Maybe the best Ross stuff of anybody on that dodgers pitching staff, maybe the best raw stuff outside of Josh hater of any pitcher in this series, then you've also got rich hill who did struggle in his cameo appearance in that series against the Braves, what another guy that you can get four or five. Solid innings, oughta him in all likelihood. So the problem I have for a walk in this series, I think they're pitching staff is just going to get so overworked. And it already is pretty overworked because they didn't get a whole lot of innings. From the starters, in the regular season, they relied heavily on the bullpen. They've played a lot of playoff type games here lately with the the playoff race for the wild card in the division. Now the dodgers have as well, but the dodgers are much deeper team from top to bottom. So depth is the big factor for me here in this series. Also, the dodgers offense has gotten much better. They were very, very good in the second half the brewers got better in the second half as well. But I trust the dodgers a little bit more in the playoff run environment. They hit for more power. They'll draw walks hits or less. You get a lot less hits when it comes to the playoffs because you know teams defensively shift. You've got a lot more hard throwers that are out there. So you get weak or contact. But there. There is a correlation between playoff success and power. The dodgers have more power than the brewers in this series. They go on the road to Miller park, which that good hitting environment. So I do like the dodgers here and this is tough for me as somebody that has a Dopp did the brewers as a second team and as my National League team. But I just think if the dodgers have a lot of things that don't match up really well for the brewers here in this series, and when you think about the cubs and the head to head battles between the brewers in the cubs, I know that they won game one sixty three. The brewers have had problems with the cubs because the cubs walk a lot, and the cubs really only had offense this season when they drew walks. The dodgers will draw walks..

Of kids some white kids I think given who was the big star for Villanova in this past year the NCAA basketball championships he tweeted out some rap lyrics that have the n.. Word, in it and and there is a certain sense of the g. a. or the g. e. r., that you're tweeting out That some people but I've always looked at it you know same thing with kids who sing this if you market it to people and they sing it that's on you Right That that is. On you don't tell people you want everybody to buy your albums that you. Want everybody love your. Music and then if somebody sings the, words you're upset about, that you, know use your brain and how you want to use. It but the reality of something like this is this kid, said, look this is how I felt this is how I. Felt and that's an. Issue the baseball is going to have to deal with. That he is going to have to deal with Are you worried about penalties suspensions do. You have any sense of what comes next You know what happened Consequences that happened.

"The milwaukee brewers off the scoreboard the brewers never got on it tonight as the mets pull off the shutout victory they beat milwaukee five to nothing to open up this four game series i'm wayne randazzo this is the mets post game show on the wr mets radio network the mets had lost five consecutive games here at miller park until tonight's effort from mats and company but matt's especially getting through six scoreless frames he tied for his longest start of the year and now both of his wins this season have come against the team with the best record in the national league these milwaukee brewers although the brewers who have now lost twenty times this year have been shut out in nine nearly half of those twenty losses didn't quite matter though to the mets how it came as long as they scored some runs and got a victory they did that tonight thirteen hits from the mets offense a good side as they try to break out of what's been basically a week long slump and the mets in that week have gotten tremendous starting pitching along the way to the tune of a zero point five eight era for the mets starting staff going back over their last five games as matt's throws the six scoreless innings tonight jacob degrom toss seven scoreless in yesterday's game zack wheeler one earned run in six innings tuesday jason vargas five shutout innings monday and noah syndergaard in his last start seven innings one run so two earned runs allowed by the starters in their last thirty one innings pitched a full turn through the rotation with zero point five eight era and the mets holding it down tonight from bullpen standpoint the brewers really never got close again after that third inning when they loaded the bases and it's the mets who win five nothing at miller park we'll have much more to come on this mets post game show including the scores from around the major leagues highlights from this mets victory we'll hear from the manager of the mets mickey callaway as well i went right dazzle this is the mets post game show the wwl wire mets radio network never.

"They need six weeks to ramp up their armed strength so that they can go six innings out of the gate so that they can go 100 pitches in the opening two weeks of the season spring training has built for pitchers the rest of the position players they use did not come in in shape and they would go early spring training would be six weeks to allow guys to get in shape that doesn't exist anymore guy's go in great shape it spring training is really about some revenues deciding who is on your roster and then it is about length thinning out the pitcher's as far as the of their ability to stay on the mound starting pitchers four five six seven innings so when we're talking about jake arrieta and lance lynn and alex cobb they need to be in somebody's camp and i would think teams like the minnesota twins and the milwaukee brewers and others including the yankees have interest in getting those guys on their roster sooner rather than later the answer is that an advantage for some of these teams like the brewers or the twins or or or who whomever is at an advantage for them to say hey listen you you should probably be on a roster pretty soon i don't think it matters to area atta his agent it doesn't matter to lynn and his agent because they'll they'll get paid the same regardless and because they're they're gonna be signing of a four five sixyear year contract and it's all guarantee unlike while we had lashed last week with garoppolo and talking about breeze and or aaron rodgers quarterbacks in the nfl x amount of their contract is guaranteed as soon as these guys sign it's all guaranteed so it doesn't matter so much to ariana lynn or cobb it matters to the club you would think that the club if they saw one of these guys signs with the yankees the twins the brewers or or somebody else they want them in camps so that they can get them healthy and slowly progressing.

"Don't like so let's start with the let's start with the governor's side of the story if you will you saw the video by now right there are some guy in a cubs jersey at a game and and the in the milwaukee brewers stadium which i know the cubs have fans all over the country milwaukee to chicago is a car drive it's not that far so them sure a lot of the cub fans go to milwaukee and there's governor christie whose son as a gig working for the milwaukee brewers and they say every time they get a change the goal visit their kid they always go see the brewers game so he was at the game on sunday the cubs in the brewers who are in a very good fight for first place in their division but the governor says he confronted a cubs fan during sunday's game against the brewers because in the governor's words the man said quote some really lousy all full stuff with a lot of children around now i don't know about you but i have been to so many sporting events over the course of my lifetime that you know what it's not uncommon for people to say really lousy awful stuff in the presence of children i don't like it but you know what i don't try to police it i don't turn around to somebody and saves hughes me sir it would probably be a good idea if you refrain from using profanity in the presence of children changes all be wearing a beer by the time i finish that sent and so i know what i'm doing in for the governor to say uh while you should have said that stuff around kids that that that's an excuse he just didn't like because something was said about him that's why it was a problem he was caught on video of course it is right in the guy's grill a very surprise you you you know you do that to somebody you don't know you're lucky don't get smashed in the face he was really lucky other governor called the guy a big shot turned around his plate of nachos or whatever you had and walked down the stairs.

"Underestimate the milwaukee brewers who are a a really good young team uh on the rise and they're they're not allowed to tell their so don't underestimate milwaukee uh the rest of the division is average quick right now everybody's pretty even bruce good stuff thanks for the time today enjoy a matinee day baseball at wrigley against the the cubs in the brewers today at wrigley field thanks bruce all right mike thank you bruce the mine of the score in chicago he covers major league baseball on the cubs yup that's a cubs team john that the yearago today they were fifty two in thirty one twenty one games above five hundred today they're exactly at five hundred forty two and forty two a year ago they were plus one fifty one in run differential today the plus seventeen that's a one and a half one per deemed prince than a year ago runs scored a year ago they were at four thirty eight to three eighty six right now such plus fifty two that's negligible nuns allowed it's a difference of eighty two runs they've allowed eighty two more runs in this season that's a run a gain almost exactly so the differences one point six runs per game difference between last year at this time and right now for the cubs everybody has waited for the reigning world series champions to make that significant run and if you start to him and done now and if you start doing the math in they haven't done it that's the that's the key in the other key is this baseball and they still have how half a season to do it only takes your feet only takes one run any one ten deem on ten game winning streak something like that they're only three and a half out and if they did that if the cubs play in october i questioned their starting pitching but from a line of perspective there as good as anybody in the good as houston from ofensive lineup perspective if you just run their lineups lent's one another and in baseball i mean wants to get to the post season and like you said pitching as a.
