"Broadcast day. this is the Broncos wore appeared the big voice guys say Broncos in Green Bay to tangle with the Packers undefeated Packers it to an elf brown because of looking for their first win this franchise has never won in the state of Wisconsin dating all the way back to nineteen seventy one they lost a Milwaukee county stadium then they also lost in what county stadium in nineteen eighty seven they went to Lambeau in ninety three and lost lost again in ninety six losses Lambeau no three and the last trip there was in twenty eleven I'm sure they tied in nineteen eighty seven apologize Margie Gary stadium but never a win in the cheese steak and cheese excited about some cheese curds there at Lambeau field but no I'm a field once before it's really really cool cell looking for to get over there and checking things out eleven o'clock is when the kick off comes your way here you're listening to us in the rocky mountain region if you're listening to us online somewhere else around the country well it's eleven o'clock mountain time kicking following mean about our big al and Joe Joe have you Broncos game day for an hour countdown to kickoff comes your way at eight AM I'm sorry at nine AM with Mike rice and all the festivities come along with that the player interviews my chat with Chris Eyre's junior Susie war gin with Bradley job of course they Logan I'll talk to Joe Flacco in Vic Fangio and right never stocks to Derek wall so we have you covered leading right up to that eleven o'clock kick if you're looking for the game on TV gonna turn the audio down and of course listen to us but it's on fox television even though the Broncos are a C. D. even typically CBS broadcast the a FC games at and I see that during the day not counting Sunday Monday Night Football of course but note this is a fox game because a couple years ago the TV networks are switching things around and just kind of taken match of the day like week over week when you look at what the Packers have well it of course begins and ends with Aaron Rodgers and we will break down how to beat number two. well who for my money's been my favorite quarterback that I've ever watch play I said a few times this week publicly and and probably more times privately Patrick homes may challenge that not because I wanna see the chiefs win lots of games because battlegrounds hello quarterback lebron James is my favorite basketball player that ever watch play even though I would probably draft Michael Jordan ahead of him and Charles Barkley is my favorite I just love watching lebron playing that's how it's always been with Aaron Rodgers that's what made watching him tough out his season last year playing through a hurt knee impressive and kind of sad at the same time because had it just shut it down then you would have seen him struggle and I miss the playoffs again but he looks like Aaron Rodgers certainly did early in that game against the Vikings as he was just lighting up that. bikes defense but he's still learning a new offense as well so we will get into all of that here a second before we look forward and what it'll take for the Broncos beat the Packers and and we're going to dissect all of that let's look backwards and the biggest conversation point in Denver since the game Sunday beyond just how the game ended and everything that went into the going for two and then the bears picking up the fourth in fifteen yardage and the first down to set up the game winning field goal with one second left. before that and really after that it's all been about Garrett bulls that something that John Elway got into in his weekly chat with Logan Lewis on KO way and so you'll hear Jon's. criticism and in a harsh words for his. left tackle of course is worth noting John is the one who drafted terrible so John knows it a little bit of this is on him but you'll hear the the concern and I guess disappointment in John's voice well maybe a little bit optimism as well and that's where Dave began a line of questioning with the president and general manager of your Denver Broncos after looking at the tape despite being into what kind of indicators do you have that your teams headed in the right direction strides in the right direction well I mean I think number one with a stride remade from week one to week two we came out we played me don't play much better. you know yes the bears and we did the raiders and so I think we made steps offense of Lee against a very good defensive team we were able to move the football made big enough place obviously we've got to get better down the red zone you know one of those issues to the other makes a bigger place we got to get some you know we gotta make some John played in and you know what to score from outside the Reds on too could you get down there you know it's difficult to score so a lot of good thank you have a few too many mistakes too many penalties on the offensive side you know you can't beat yourselves and right now we're in can beat ourselves modes of we can clean that up and and and you know stop making those mistakes and we got a chance to you know to get better. everybody is so that was like the weirdest finish they've ever seen and then you've been around the game your entire life if you ever seen the game and that way were you make a two point conversion and then you lose the game I don't think that's ever happened since they adopted the two point conversion rule I'm serious yeah I don't remember are you know member seen one ideas you know obviously those are things that you know you're gonna have bad calls and everybody's going to have a man and I would see them the league is admitted to the bad calls but we have to be able to overcome those good old timidly you know when we look back and look at the schedule with this going to be an al and so that's why we have to overcome and play better maybe I mean do we have to overcome ourselves enough that we're getting back because we had overcome those and so that's the element now that you can have a man like you said a very disappointing loss but in a lot of good things that went on went into it let me ask you a tough question here the people Broncos fans in particular I I I can't remember and in in doing games a long long time I can't remember a response from Broncos fans on a single player I understand the frustration but what's your view of gear bowls and kind of your expectations at that position moving forward well it's got to stop in a minute there's no more you know there's no more excuses for it and you know he's had twenty six Olympic only the last two years and two games and so it's got to stop in the bottom line is if he thinks he's getting singled out here and so he's gay and he's gotta understand that can get understand what he's doing and that was my question yesterday does he know what holding yes you know does he know what he can and can't do and so you know he thinks he's been targeted to got to realize he hasn't so you know I think that you know and we'll keep working forty still a talented guy you know he's in a situation that you know we we can that you can't afford that even though three of the four only because he got were on the running plays which are just as important so hopefully that with an explanation and understanding a better understand and understanding by him of what exactly what it is with that. they are looking for on that you know he's he's got a you can't we cannot do that because it's it's B. lessons so as well as you know we have two other ones he was the only one I think you know run at a couple of their new ones so you know we can't do it the the operative line can't do it we have built a correct those mistakes. John one of the other I think big surprises so far for me and and other fans and people watching the games is no sacks in the first two games. aimed with Bradley Chubb and von Miller on the edge we certainly expected those guys to be it'll be getting multiple sack games it hasn't happened what do you attribute that to what's going on from what you can say well I think number one I see I think people are very aware those two and they're not gonna allow those two to you know to run or to run a game because they're very capable of that so the concentration has been on those to the first two weeks but you're right away we talked about it they got rid of the football the ran it get rid of it quick so there was an opportunity there and if they did drop back and have the whole little bit they were you know those guys are getting chipped and so they did it last week again and tell you know what we have to do is we've been chastened most of the time since we've been there and so people have not had to drop back and throw it because they've been they've been ahead so we've got to do a better job of getting ahead so we get people chasing the where they have to you know they have to drop back and throw it in and it gives them a better opportunity to get there so you know I think just the for the first two games are a big reason why you know we have now a lot of production from those two guys but also we gotta do better job inside you know we gotta get some run from the inside and and not not just those guys and if we can do a better job on the inside to make them concentrate a little bit more there and and hopefully free them up all right I appreciate the honesty from John Elway and you'll get that a lot every now and then you'll say is he watching the same game as us because it's John's job to pump his team up in some people think that maybe he was playing bad cop to big changes good cop because John can be a little bit more critical of Garrett bulls because he doesn't talk to him every day he doesn't see him on the practice field everyday necessarily and doesn't have to face him in the meeting room every single day and the good cop bad cop thing could work I threw it out there yesterday on the Broncos daily podcast sues you origin and I know I alluded to it before we heard from John there maybe John was jet I mind tricking Broncos country a little. by throwing your balls under the bus exams are gonna bust by just being critical of them and I think fairly but John has to bear some responsibility is a guy that brought him in and and certainly as a guy that is relying on him as his left tackle but because of that John has might muntjac now in the fold the best offense of line coach in football if not number one one a one B. with Dante's Carnacki along time online coach in in New England and that's what everyone thinks that those two guys are the best and by the way not this card and he held the coach but my my check also a hall of fame player end but we Chris Cooper a really really good player he started a bunch of years here on a bunch of good offenses here certainly with Peyton manning in NC get two guys that really know how to play line coaching you up spending a lot of the time with Kerr bulls but it's worth noting..

"You all you can walk away Scot free. Just wash your hands of debt load Cell Tina us. WE'RE GONNA KEEP IT MILWAUKEE. You Go away no PROB. The owners didn't want to 'cause they desperately wanted to be baseball owners so seelig Leagues Group behind the scenes tries to do this repeatedly. The ownership group says no now what they'll say to this day and Bartholomee said you know even in my interview. There was no credible offer well. I look at it this way. If you have an asset you have no intention of selling in somebody says I'll buy that from you is that a legitimate often depends on if you're considering selling it or not so. I don't think that in Bartholomew's my any offer of something that was you know three times what the team was worth. They would've considered selling organization so therefore there was no legitimate offering his mind by the team cecile exist behind the scene after the team leaves in works to keep Major League baseball live in Milwaukee so the Marquis Lucky burs baseball club eventually sponsors games from the Chicago White Sox <hes> to come up and playing county stadium so they did a series of exhibitions and sixty seven they played a slate of games and sixty eight and then by sixty nine they hosted every team in the American league at least one game at Coney stadium including ironically the Seattle pilots who played one of their Games in Milwaukee County stadium is so when you go into spring training in nineteen seventy the Seattle franchises <hes> in bankruptcy <hes> they got an expansion team to go into Seattle they played in a ballpark that was a minor league parks smaller Than County Stadium Worse than that and ultimately you know they failed miserably in Seattle so you're really similar to what happens with the braves in spring training as the trucks are going back from spring training they stop as a waiting. Are we driving back to Seattle or are we going to Milwaukee and ultimately <hes> ceilings group buys the pilots out of bankruptcy court the trucks go to Milwaukee they take the pilots off front of the uniforms they sold block other brewers on the front and they adopt the color balloon goal which Bruce still used to this day of course a variation of it in the navy blue they have now but in their traditional colors those were action colors in Seattle pilots and so that kind of brings it back full circle the county learned they're less than they locked the bruise into a twenty five year lease immediately although ironically the brewers never got a dime a parking lot revenue either but at least there was a long-term lease and it was Major League baseball back in Milwaukee and in one thousand nine hundred seventy what was the feeling of the Miami populists. I mean you're mentioning some still of the holdouts that kind of got burned in the first time didn't want to get burned a second time was there there is much of an embrace for the brewers when they came as the former pilots and and you know it was only five years removed from the braves leaving town the first place yeah it was too soon and they they didn't try even <hes> over a million that first year and it took him a little bit what they did however was they were they actually did better if you if you calculate it over thirteen years and it's a great comparison never turn actually in the book where I compare every team that moved for the first thirteen season because it gives you a comparison of Milwaukee and then I also breakdown <hes> the difference between your the Boston Braves to Milwaukee Milwaukee braves to Atlanta Seattle pilots to Milwaukee and the Milwaukee fans did far better in both cases in the Atlanta fans did in fact ten years out after the braves moved to Atlanta. They drew less than the lame duck year of nineteen sixty five milwaukee when everybody Milwaukee new team was we so you know everybody's pointing at this and in fact the for in the first I twenty years at the Milwaukee brewers existed they out drew the Atlanta Braves eighteen twenty years but the argument was look the braves could play in front of an empty stadium and still make more revenue than the brewers 'cause. They got seven state television network that multi-state by state radio network. They had coca cola based right in Atlanta. They're they're pumping in money that just simply the local community in Wisconsin could not match and so the the braves make more money planning empty stadium than the bruised plane in a full stadium so you're not necessarily apples to apples but I tried to dispel this idea. That Milwaukee was a bad baseball because clearly wasn't it clearly wasn't yeah I mean I do sense this because of all the teen we've doing this for two and a half years awesome and various teams leagues and stuff and to me. It's almost feels a little bit of an anomaly right because you're talking about a a relatively short period of time where this this team was in Milwaukee and you could make the argument that <hes> the success of the team both oath you mentioned in terms of on the field never had a losing season and drawing exceedingly well especially in those I say six to eight years. It almost feels to me like it was a strong concentration of success that didn't last last all that long and and strangely left. Maybe sooner against take the senators in Washington. I mean a lot of teams that just go on for decades right in averageness yeah you know <hes> he was kind of. I hate to use the the words you know perfect storm but you know it Kinda. Was You know you had I'll argue some level of mismanagement by the county. You had a braves organization that you know qualitatively for for the players was in decline. <hes> <hes> you had soaring costs baseball at a time baseball interest is going down. You have the rise of the packers in the State of Wisconsin so you have all of these dynamics starting to come together at a time when you what were you simply needed was attendance at ten and saves the team then you throw in you know the in sixty one. The twins come into Minnesota <hes>. There's all this other stuff that goes on and ten years early had the team move ten years earlier. There probably still here had the team come ten years later. They're probably still here. It's that one window in time. Were everything seemed to go against the braves being in Wisconsin and it is what it is you know hey even if they're stadium lease was two years longer sooner. Steam lease takes them to sixty thirty seven it would probably be the Atlanta Indians because it came down to Cleveland and in Milwaukee Braves ownership group is the one that cuts the deal so you know it's it's kind of that perfect storm of just everything going wrong for the braves being here in Milwaukee and you can't point your finger at just one thing 'cause it's a combination of all these things and all the things that happen for the most part are kinda logical to the era that they're in aren't last question and I'll let you promote wrote in your estimation. Given your research your knowledge of Wisconsin. You're having spent some time there of significance. Where would you sort of put the baseball legacy of Milwaukee? Would you think it resides with the braves in Atlanta now. Do you think the brewers have effectively inherited it or do you think the Milwaukee Braves was sort of a container and time that really hasn't gone anywhere. It's just sort of since they're in a in a glass box somewhere and people's memories memories. It's the ladder I think it just sits there. I mean you know the brewers have done some to embrace it. They've actually when I went in the National League <hes> they would do things on the braves came to town to Kinda remind people when the braves used to be here and but then when they moved into Miller park the kind of transitioned away from that but you know if you watch any number of burs Baseball Games Miller Park you will find people wearing braves jerseys or baseball caps <hes> wind Milwaukee or see me when the Atlanta braves come to town you will see Milwaukee fans wearing jerseys and milwaukee braves caps so they're still kinda chip on the shoulder and the community that the team left but I you know and that Kinda talked about in the book this way you may maybe the one benefit to them leaving us when you close your is you can imagine them still in those beautiful white uniforms with Tomahawk across the top you the navy caps and the and the red bills and that gorgeous white Emma on the front and it really summed up all that was good with baseball in Milwaukee you didn't have to see the ugly polyester pullover uniforms that they wore in the seventies. You have to see the pinstripe uniforms they tried and sixty nine. You know you just there's that box that they reside in in our memories where they'll always be warned spun on will always be the twenty game winner Henry earned will always be the kid and <hes> you know that they came out of nowhere and just let the world on fire Eddie matches will always be that outstanding basement and maybe that's the best place for them. You think any of its wrapped up in the just general nostalgia for the nineteen fifties. Oh I think so. I think there's a part of that <hes> certainly among among the older generation it's still remember them. <hes> and again you know they transitioned in the nineteen sixties but you know by the nineteen sixties you get into Vietnam War and the summarize protest and you know the race ride Milwaukee and sixty seven so there's a lot of things you know and easy to waxing nostalgic about when every move simply excited about baseball so that might have part of it to all right so let's talk about the book came out last year. I think it did audience the <hes> the title and a little bit of the background of it you promoting it more things to come out of it. Maybe that you think you've got <hes> in you as well other projects or anything in film documentary whatever yeah you know I'm hoping at some point maybe talk to a couple of filmmakers anchors box. I think there's a story here to be told. Of course the title of the book is home with the Braves <hes> the battle for baseball in Milwaukee and you know the natural follow up is to cover kind of the story of what happens from the Federal Court case <hes> up until until the time the brewers actually comes doing some research and decide whether or not there's enough of a story there to tell and I think there might be. I don't know <hes> but you know what I would like to do. Ultimately with the book is this to have people read it and if you have a chance to talk to me the first question I will always ask you is this who's the bad guy in the story and the reason I asked that question is because people blame everybody and it's funny because people somebody to go walk you county board so I was the fan. Stop coming almost okay well. You know it's still I think the owners overall but I get a different story from everybody and to me..

"Forty six. Wrap this up. We're gonna you got couple open lines Gary in Colorado Springs. Thanks for holding. You have a question about playing in Milwaukee talked to us when your guests manitowoc mentioned and she was corrected. The Packers used to play over several seasons. Several regular season games in Milwaukee county stadium, and they also played at least one playoff game and their walkie county stadium. But I thought one of the two you would immediately jump on it and say at all by the way, when they did that Milwaukee county stadium was the answer to a great trivia question, which was mainly on the NFL stadium where both players benches are on the same side of the field. Interesting. Interesting and why did they quit playing at county stadium because they built Miller park. No because they quit a long before. Miller will the businesses in Green Bay in the bars. And that sorta stuff put enough pressure on the Packers because that was obviously lost home games to them. Yeah. Good point. Well, listen merry Christmas. Happy new year. And thanks for the thanks for the insect. You know, I remember back in the day. Even the lions when they played back at the old tiger stadium while they call it line stayed. There were on the same side of the field. Right. Different ways different ways. All right. So we got about ten minutes. And and we know we talked about everything, but the future of the Denver Broncos. What do you see happening, obviously, it's pretty clear Vance's gone. Don't cry for me Argentina he's going to walk around with a ten million dollars. Right. You know, he's going to have another job. It's just that. Everybody wants to be successful and money doesn't always make you success. I tell you I talked to Vance. And he's you know, he's understands what's going on. He knows what the vibe is. He's not in all he he he hears things. I don't know how anybody cannot hear things in today's world with social media everybody else, everyone's got an opinion. So he knows what's going on. I think he's still hopeful he's going into this week hoping that the Broncos win or they put up a good effort that John will changes mine, and he'll able to keep his job. Doesn't look good right now. But after that, though, the big thing for Elway. And he's got a lot of things to do on this roster. But the big thing is he's got to get a young quarterback to develop develop for a year behind case keenum. And then this new guy who he drafts or picks up has to start in twenty twenty. That's what the Broncos need all these when you're down like this. And and they're down it's three years now without the play offs. You gotta have a young quarterback that your banking on and developing and he's got his start playing. You another words you need Paxton Lynch to work. They had Paxton Lynch they add their young guy that Brock Osweiler. They have Brock Osweiler. But it was at the same time as manning so Osweiler it became his team at the same time. He became a free agent. And so. I used to always say this Manning's contract was longer than Brock Osweiler on Osweiler was drafted. Manning was the future quarterback of the team when BRAC was there. So that's the way it worked out. Paxton is what set this franchise back. The fact that he didn't work out. Now, they gotta go try again. And Herbert I know John Elway like Justin Herbert of Oregon. He's going back to school. I don't know if there's another one out there that that he likes there's Missouri quarterback. He went and saw helped me with his name luck. Drew luck. Drew lock any relation to. Andrew. No, okay. Daniel Jones of Duke, it's hard to keep all these dukes played tonight. Has a big game tonight ditty. Yeah. Okay. Beat temple like sixty three to twenty seven. Okay. Good. Well, there there's a guy right there. Duane Askins of Ohio State. Elway has to fall in love. And one of those guys, you know, he's picking twelve maybe he picks. He's got to go that has to be their first round pick this year. And everyone says it's a bad draft for quarterbacks. Well, all you need is one. You gotta find Tom Brady. You got to find somebody in this draft. You got Russell Wilson was the third rounder. But do you find do you? Do you go quarterback in the first round? If they don't they have to go cornerback quarterback and cornerback are their two. Biggest needs cornerback. In court is our friend Richard Haass's big on they need to get greedy Williams. Formalities you a cornerback. That's who that's who. Richard. Who knows everything about this mock draft stuff? He's the guy that he wants the Broncos to wind up his Roby back. Nick show. That's a tough question. I think ten million a year he is at twelve million fourteen million probably not. Is going to get twelve fourteen million in the open market. I you know that the salary caps going up. Ten percent. The cornerback is probably the second highest paid position and football. Pass rush right in there. It's quarterback. It's left tackle, it's cornerback. And it's pass rusher. All about the pass. John enough support. From his lieutenants to help him find that or as Elway making all the decisions based on all the information. He gathers does he rely on his personnel people? 'cause whoever told them about Paxton Lynch missed. Yeah. In it could have been the Gary kubiak, you know, he was the head coach at the time liked Paxton Lynch, I don't know. Matt Russell is John Elway trusted. Lieutenant Matt had a heck of a draft. Now someone's got to explain what happened to the draft from two thousand thirteen to two thousand seventeen right when they were picking twentieth and twenty six thirty seconds. Yeah. That's right. And they missed two thousand eleven they got von Miller with what pick number two, right? That's that's right. When you when he picks top five they pick great when they pick and they bottom five they've picked bat. That's how the NFL's supposed to work, by the way. We only got about another minute and a half talk to me about head coaches. Now, real quick. It's it seems to be the the wave where if you have a defensive coach, and you let him go you go get an offensive coach you see that happening here. I do I think going into it. And Joel is that we found out through the Shanahan. Episode that he wants a comprehensive search. He wants John D interview five to six to seven coach candidates and Mike McCarthy's got to be somewhere near the top of the list because he's offense and he's experience. Vance was inexperienced in defense you go. The it seems like they always go the opposite from what you just had. Vance was the opposite of Gary kubiak. Kubiak was the opposite of John FOX FOX was the opposite of Josh mcdaniels. So. I think that trend will continue. I think Mike McCarthy will be. Within there will definitely be one of their top three candidates now is going to have other opportunities. And you look at the Broncos. They don't have a quarterback a pass case keenum. Cleveland's got a real good quarterback. That's going to be the jets got a real good quarterback. That's going to be good. How 'bout Arizona? Yeah. Josh rosen. That's the question that coach seems to be leaving Don right there. Yeah. And that was in pretty now. The the interesting thing is the my number of minority coaches that are gone. And now there's going to be it'll be interesting to see how that evolves again. I think Tim Colwell we'll get a job as he should. He was nine and seven with the lines last year. Now, they're five and eleven. Yeah. Yeah. Listen love you. Thank you. That'd be it's I'm honored..

"However, a great second screen is Erin is highly entertaining, unfiltered, I love the unfiltered Aaron egg were. Well, that's very nice of you to say. Yeah. We do have a good time during the game gaming could. I just say ply gem in anything else during your traffic report there. I just heard Good Hope road. And let me tell you a young lad driving down with my folks from Appleton to Milwaukee. Catch a Packers game and Milwaukee county stadium back when they used to play there. We used to pass Good Hope road. And literally every time you saw the sign. We would yell out. There's Good Hope the Packers win. Dowager for for your truly. Glad we could have you on the line early enough to hear the whole deal. The weather forecast. Also is it's not bad. It's not bad. You know, I was prepared to talk to you about wacky stuff. Like how Mike McCarthy is going to be the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns. We're going to have to table that. Right. So could happen though. I suppose it good. But you know, you're the trade deadline. I I was curious to see what was going to happen. Because I mean, there were really three options with time. Montgomery trade him cut him or hang on hang onto him to the end of the year. And and really I don't think hanging onto him to the end of the year was was really an option at all. Got something. They did. And I it's interesting because they're like you said, there's no I just couldn't Batum them holding onto him after everything that transpired over the last forty eight hours. I mean, you know, say what you want about the locker room and chemistry and McCarthy's handle on it at etcetera. But once it came out that people were upset with him, and he was upset with his teammates for saying stuff, and blah, blah, blah. Like, you just you couldn't go in your workweek like that. They couldn't go back Wednesday afternoon. You'll get ready for practice. Practice field with that hanging over the team. So. The to me that you would be gone one way or the other either by trade or by. And you have to think most you probably knew he was gonna end up on the street for the fact that Brian Goudie Ken's got anything for him. Now, it's not even a nine point nineteen tickets twenty twenty the fact that he got anything for him is a bit of a victory for the Packers. But yeah, not surprising to see him out the door. So this one we could see coming. I think there was some some thought that ha- would be bantered about we know there wasn't any discussions about a contract extension or a new contract for next year. He was vocal about that. I think he felt disrespected by it that got out in the paper. It felt like he was on his way out in. Ultimately, the move was made it Aaron when I look at trades or anytime a player is is moved or whatever the case may be I try and figure out. Okay. Is there a suitable replacement? Everybody wants to play or God. But it's like, okay. Well, we'll hang on a second here. What are they have waiting? What is ready to take the field? Now in terms of safeties. The names are germane white. Ahead and Cantrell, Bryce and Josh Jones. I would say I feel great about the combination of those guys on the field down in down output might there. Be another move in play here. Could be. I mean, obviously, they're not gonna most likely not going to bring anybody in off the street prior to tomorrow's practice. And you think they gotta start getting ready for the patriots tomorrow? So yeah, it's pretty much. You gotta go with what you've got. Now, you mentioned a bunch of names there. They are all safe. He's on the roster. But don't forget they got a sombre who is not played a snap yet for the Packers. Who may his presence may corner may allow them to continue trauma Williams kind of slow easing into the position. I say that because you go back and you watch the tape from that ram game. He was doing a lot of stuff that they ask their safety to do. Now. I don't think you would ever sit there and say he was playing free safety. That's certainly not the case. He was certainly in the slot. A lot more a lot much in the way, they've used Whitehead. Andy he saw maybe the start of that transition. So I I think people get really caught up in that idea of, you know, position titles and fighting guys in the slots when I think it's a lot more malleable than that. And I think it's a lot more Jane plans to say, you know, what they do against the Rams is not necessarily going to be what they do against the patriots. And the other teams they faced for the rest of the year. I have to believe they have a plan. Obviously, I have no idea what it is. But I think there's a lot of talent back there that has been untapped and or just under utilized. And I think moving Haukeland index who like you said there once that kind of opened up as far as his fat satisfaction thinking that he was most likely gone once I got out into the public. I think Brian good like now I'm going to get some for this guy prior to his leaving. So it'll be interesting. I know it's a question of did they get better today? It's hard to see immediately. How that happened? But don't forget improving your football team doesn't just happen by acquiring player from outside your program. You can also happen when guys step up and improve and develop throughout the course of the year. We've seen that time and time again during you know, Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy's tenure now it's under Brian, obviously. I mean, that's that's not impossible task. So obviously, it's a big test starting on Sunday night. But I'm interested to see how it plays out. Do you think Tom Brady Bill Belichick said got the note got the memo that has now in Washington? Do they know that you could have a pair of young safeties patrolling the backfield era question, I probably enough. I got to talk with a bunch of other reporters to Bill ballot. Check this afternoon was on a conference call with the local media, and he was I mean, if you sit in his praise of Mike McCarthy and his programming Green Bay. I don't think he takes anything for granted. And don't forget. I mean, my Patton you know, it was their defensive coordinator. Now. He had a bit of success against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick when he was in New York with Rex Ryan he was very his is jets defenses gave Brady lot of problems. And there could be a real correlation with what he's doing in Green Bay after watching what he did to the Rams. It's gonna be interesting. I tell you what I know a lot of people are looking at this game like Brady and ballot. Check, they're begging they're bad, and they're pretty much impossible to beat at home, especially in prime time. But I think the Packers have a good recipe for possible successor Aaron negligence TV joining us on sports central presented by Miller lite going to do a little jeopardy style question here. Are you ready? I'm ready. I will give you the answer. You give me the question. Devante atoms. David Corey Lindley. Who who are the most important players outside of Aaron Rodgers on the opposite side of the ball. Very interesting. I would say yes, they also represent the only three rostered players on the Packers who were drafted between twenty thirteen twenty fifteen to make you a smack your head against the steering wheel. Right now. Yeah. Yeah. It's it's it's problematic. And I think this has been this has done a lot of play especially in the media and fans to I brought this up alive. And I don't think there's any secret at this point that a lot of the deficiencies on this football team. Are from the lack of talent procure through the draft during Thompson's final years. I don't think anybody would argue that that drumbeat is definitely been been sounded throughout the season. Because we've seen the inadequacies we've seen guys like Josh Jones and Montreal's Adams, I'm able to get on the field guys who should be forming the core of your football team. But let's not forget that Russ ball had something to do with this as well. I mean, I know rob him off ESPN reported that Russ ball apparently is the one who made the decision to let Michael hide walk and Julius peppers and obviously Julius peppers once a draft pick. But those are talented football players who were allowed to leave your program. So I think I would just caution everyone who say who look at oh, you know, Ted Koppel's such a failure towards the end. He wasn't just Ted. There are other decision makers involved. But the overall point of the lack of talent remaining on this team. From those drafts is definitely a pertinent one. Aaron how many wins wins the north? That's a good question. I mean, I think nine or ten right? I mean way we'll look at these teams are so close together. And it's because other than the Packers. I think the rest of the team still have to play each other. So I think there could be they could be one game of their. I'm missing but off the top of my head. I think they also have to beat each other up. So I I think that you know, the last two months here this season are gonna be fascinating to watch play out. But I think there are going to be a lot of teams beating each other up, and, you know, first team to ten ways this might might make. Yeah, that's what I was kinda wondering do the Packers have seven more wins in them or do they have six? I mean that that one could be a big deal. But that Tyke it actually worked at the Packers benefit provided. They are able to beat Minnesota later in the season. Yeah. Very much. But here's the thing. It's all about you know, how you're playing down the stretch. So you hear that every year because it's very true. They have to start collecting some wins at some point. I know they're in a very tough stretch as far as their schedule goes. But look you only take it one week at a time. And they play a complete game. They played out in LA. Yes. It ended bad because of the big mistake by time on Gumri. But you look at that game as a whole that is by far their best performance of the season. And if that team shows up week after week down the stretch here, the Packers have a good a chance as anybody talking about Twitter at Chiesa TV, the founder of cheese TV this is excellent stuff. You got to digest it. One of the best follows here. If you love the Green Bay Packers. It's Aaron Naegler Aaron I do appreciate your time. I haven't been the Green Bay in the wild is whole brewers beat heavy all over the country but looking forward to connecting again sometime in Green Bay or on the phone sounds great. Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. Aaron thanks so much. Erin Nagla, really really good stuff on Twitter, unfiltered, opinions and thoughts and a little bit of snark as well.
