"Woodfork sports. The top stories were following for you on WTO. Russia fires dozens of long-range missiles at Ukraine, hitting civilian targets, at least 14 people are killed. Hal harrell and other school leaders have been under scrutiny since the slaughter of children and teachers at rob elementary in May, Harold will stay on until a new superintendent is named. "And larissa and the WTO traffic center. Some road work on 66 in both directions tonight between 2080 Centreville and the fairfax county Parkway getting by one lane in each direction to the right, and on three 95 and 95 the pace is pretty good on each. And last report Horner road still closed at millwood drive because of the crash in woodbridge. They've cleared the crash on route 50 in Aldi. That is now open in both directions and things are generally pretty good elsewhere around the beltway in Maryland and Virginia, not a whole lot happening there. Meanwhile, 95 does have a work zone in Maryland, northbound approaching the Baltimore beltway, and there you are getting by in two lanes to the left, the off ramp to the outer loop is also closed. And Annapolis are headed west toward Annapolis en route 50. They've been working tonight coming from the bay bridge and getting from bay Dale drive toward cape saint Clair road, it is the right lane blocked on the on ramp from cape saint Clair's and saint Margaret's on to west mountain 50 block because of the works on there tonight. "Small fries and a small drink all for 5 bucks, U.S. price and participation may vary at Wendy's. I'm rob stallworth WTO traffic. A lot going on in the weather department. Here's Mike's Jennifer. All right, we have a possible tornado now approaching the areas on I 81 in between Stevenson, clear brook and the West Virginia line, this possible tornado moving to the east at 40 miles an hour. If you're on interstate 81, once you get north of 37 bypass, you need to get off the interstate and find a place to take cover, especially a fortified building with many walls between you and the outside as possible. So once again, a possible tornado heading for interstate 81, riding between Stevenson and clearbrook moving to the east at 40 miles an hour. A new severe thunderstorm warning in effect, covering a large portion of real estate, southeastern Washington county, northwestern Montgomery county, southwestern Frederick county in Maryland. Loudoun county in Northern Virginia, southeastern Frederick county in Virginia, northeastern portions of Warren county in Virginia Clark county, Virginia, north central foch year county. The eastern portions of the city of Winchester, Jefferson county, and also Berkeley county at West Virginia, all under a severe thunderstorm warning until two 30 this afternoon. Right now, severe thunderstorms were located online, extending from near inwards to near millwood pike to near Stephen city, moving east at 55 miles down. These cells are intensifying 70 mile an hour wind gust and quarter size hill. That will be enough to blow over tractor traders and blow cars off the interstate 81. So once again, a very dangerous situation along the I 81 corridor of approaching the three 40 corridor in between voice, very ville and charlestown West Virginia, so you need to take cover here. And I do keep in mind that the entire regions under a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 o'clock this evening, these cells are moving with damaging winds and hail, and yes, even a few tornadoes as the warm front lifts across the region. Look for highs in the 70s to mid 80s, stores will end this evening overnight some clearing with lows in the 50s to lower 60s. So once again, very dangerous weather along at just north of Winchester approaching the three 40 corridor in Virginia. We'll keep you updated on storm team four's Mike's Jennifer. If i'm either erin o'toole or justin trudeau on using these as donor fodder insane. We need money to deal with this race. If you're an o'toole you can give people the hope who may have otherwise lost. Hope you can have some of those people who were perhaps going to support a candidate come back because they see it as an opportunity to finally stick it to the liberals whereas before if they thought he was going to lose anyways. This was a protest vote. That was it open to him. If you're justin trudeau you can say that. We always knew this would be a really tight race. It's really important. He these are the stakes. Big talk But let's be clear and carter talked about this. These numbers tactically in regards to allocation of resources as a campaign. These numbers don't matter at all this. These are top line. Numbers on rolling. Polls that are a few hundred every day that tells you nothing about the situation in the nine zero five. It tells you nothing about the situation in swing writings in the lower mainland. And in fact when you look at some of those rolling polls and dig underneath. There's some oddities in it like that. Anybody under the age of forty basically supporting the conservatives or that an above they're supporting the liberals seems weird. But you you kind of assume as a pollster that all of these errors will balance out on whole..

That's actually very good because you putting metallic against iron maiden was excellent. Because it's just like there's there's no there has been no there has been no other metal band. Let's been consistently popular their entire. Run aside from metallica than iron maiden you know aside from like you know if you ask any metal fans like iron maiden everybody's fuck ya iron maiden right. And it's like matab metallica. Their their catalog is so big whereas this especially now and i don't know like progressing like jericho like almost everything jericho does. Yeah so like what he does. Not like is is is is You know it. Jericho is what he does. Forgivable like like metallica. "This is this is eighteen. O three you get shot a die you have to. They have to actually hate you. I not accurate. But it's not like he was very far away well to to discuss the the talk about the you know murderer manslaughter. If you hit somebody with your car and they die and was an accident jeopardy amina murderer them. This is a gun. Yeah but he wasn't shooting and what he thought was a human. Do you have a weather. Fuck would anyone shooter. The all oldest beyond that. We don't know why he was shooting at a ghost through what he expected. He wasn't shooting at a person. So so if i was Hypothetically in the middle of nowhere like nothing around thirty miles around me. There's no cities towns. I'm in a hit in the desert. And i'm shooting at the wall. A bullet ricochets off and kill somebody as that murderer manslaughter. I would say that one's manslaughter. But i'd say that's manslaughter. I mean to shoot anybody. You're also not firing at something that could potentially be a person. Okay let's let's it. has we need. We need to set up a different idea. So the fact is my opinion real quick. I want to change. Thomas thomas millwood. I know i'm so thomas. Millwood is not this like like ball of gases. Tom's millwood is a human shaped thing. Standing in front of francis and francis has a human ending weapon in his hands. He warns him asks who and what he is in gives no time for response which was wrong. I agree he should have waited for a response but also getting out of here. I get that. Fear is definitely more than belief your year. Viewing this viewpoint as somebody who's on the fences. Yeah as scheduled now. If you were one hundred percent convinced that this ghost who is also probably a demon from satan. Because that's what ghosts worth. Yeah i don't think you you'd really hesitate as a ghost keeps walking up to you but would you believe that a bullet can stop a ghost. Maybe a ghost can disappear. Maybe it'll just make it disappear. Maybe like. I think that that was the idea anytime. Somebody tried to grab it or touch. It would disappear so you shoot it and make it disappear and that's a big enough thing that you're going to scare it off something but the trying to apprehend it. that was. The judges defense is that he made no attempt to apprehend the ghost and they knew apprehending. The ghost never worked because they grab him and they. The one guy tried to punch he didn't try to grab it though it disappeared when the other guy was when it was running away from that other nude i think i do. Get i do your. I'm just saying. I'm just playing devil's advocate your good and it's funny because the manslaughter approach like saying manslaughter is actually what the jury came back to the court with. Hold on one more question. John so that i make sure we're on the go all in on the verdict just yet okay so this was probably in the two thousand. I think there's a dude. He wakes up one night. He's covered in blood. He drives the police department. And says i don't know what happened. I might have hurt somebody. So he sitting basically..

"Polarizing thing and that becomes a gridlock because by the use of social media that the role then is to actually split the sides even further apart. Because then you cement you'll voter base but with you've got something like this. That's in the middle. You can't split it out. I think that's a very good thing as you. I think that's a pretty small sedation appeals. Is it actually is a better thing for the whole space. Because you called spit out you can say i mean kid yourself you sit. Sit very clearly on twitter. There are painful bolts whether it's russian bolts or whether it's political belts that i'll purposely creating problems and trying to divide communities of people the people who fair change the people want change. The bitcoin is the other coin is really interesting. You click on twitter accounts. They followed three people and they come with these really bold statements at you in the middle of some discussion. A new realize these are actually paid. Antagonize that all over the place right now because people can see have fragile things. All i mean it's yeah it's concerning but this the point that you're saying is good because you can't force it down that line let me ask you about Something i've noticed. You have been clearly down the nf thi dow rabbit hole over the last few months. It seems like it's something that's super interesting to you. I'd love to hear what You know how you're thinking about these things what's got you interested in them. What you're watching. What are you observing. Kind of broadly. What's what's making this. A particular area of interest free right now so when i first got into this space. The millwood's enchant cast carello. Took me throw it in two thousand twelve. And they came back the following year it's global macro investor roundtable event. Maybe two thousand fourteen. Two years later unexplained about small contracts. And they said that okay. This is opening. The doors to token is of the things insurance contracts. Whatever it may be. And then got my mind opening to the fact that i had when i i will bitcoin. "Or go to Millwood dot org's 11 38 traffic and weather on the AIDS got to keep our fingers crossed tonight with the slick roads, especially freezing later on, Let's go to rich Hunter in the traffic center a little bit better As of late in Maryland. No issues on 95, the Baltimore Washington Parkway between the two belle Ways for now to 70 North and South, also moving well. Bell Ways to Montgomery and Prince George's counties appears to be quiet at the moment, we'll keep our fingers crossed. There's well good news. Claire Barton Park were near the clinic. Oh, turn around should find the crash out of the roadway, and all lanes reopened in both directions. And hopefully that means delays are easing. But again, the caution especially on some, unlike the Clara Barton Park, where even on canal Road is you get into the district. Not well lit at times, So you definitely want to take it easy out there because you can't necessarily see that the roads are slicker, icy again. Cruiser out throughout the area s O. Just be aware that you may be dealing with some slick road conditions and please watch your speed's don't overdrive the conditions now on the Virginia side for now, no major problems to report long 66 inside or outside the Beltway. Haven't heard much on the George Washington Parkway and other direction early as well had traveling past the Potomac River Bridges and Reagan National Airport in the district's two of the crash. I to 95 South Down all traffic diverted to go in bed on the 11th Street Bridge due to crash just south of the flyover again does sound like traffic from the outbound 11th Street bridge can go south on I 2 95 that Rand put Yang beyond the crash scene. North bound traffic not affected. And if you're you can also have access to if you're south found you when they divert you over toward the 11th. You do have access to Martin Luther King Jr Avenue as well as another avenue to get away from the crash scene. Rich 100 every utility traffic check of the forecast now a storm team for a meteorologist Mike Standiford. And one band of freezing rain is down. Move down the area. Washington Very light, freezing rain moving back him toward the Frederick region coming down the South Mountain region on Interstate 70. If we can mobilise around a pandemic, what next? Meet two revolutionaries already flouting the rules

"This ovid nineteen pandemic horrifying as it ease. Ease making us old. Think deeply about what comes afterwards about what out. Society will o'clock about what sort of society we? What's been really incredible? He's seeing how quickly the world can mobilize when it really needs to not quickly enough. Shore and the economic consequences are already devastating about four a behemoth of Planet. We have found a common purpose. Eradicating the pandemic. It's Natasha Mitchell joining you for science fiction and given all that. What could we mobilize around next if there was similar will mitigating climate change? What about the mountains of waste we generate as a species we flush freshwater Dan at Danny's landfill is piling up Arandas? Chana doesn't want out rubbish for recycling anymore and we throw out perfectly. Edible food by the ton make sense. No not really so I want you to meet to revolutionaries who have been well breaking rules to change. The world to me is a reflection of in particular in urban our society. That's not working. The fact that we twelve thousand years ago there was four million people on the planet and you sort of think so we take Melbourne and we better data across the planet and they probably created waste but it was Beautifully by the planet putting on being people on the planet and the same model. We exactly the same model now. It's clearly not an appropriate model anymore. We have a million tons of waste water a day in Melbourne. And what we do is we clean it up enough or we put it in a hole. We'll put it in the air or put it in the sea and we say our hope. The planet just fixes that problem and at some point probably when we hit a bad abi and people the planet's wasn't able to fix that problem anymore and so the model of waste that says that we can just put it out there and the planet will assimilated hall or in the Sea. He's finished so for me. Waste Rip presents a problem that we have to solve. That goes back a very long way. So it's hard to solve. I want you to make precipitated scales a chemical engineer and director of the particulate fluids processing center at University of Melbourne. He's a problem solver an inventor a makeup from water reuse and recycling to enormous batteries powered by your piece. Joost Becker is an environmental activist. Experimental End Artists to in two thousand twelve opened. The world's first zero waste RISTORANTE SILO BY JOOST. And they join me. As part of an event at the science gallery. Millwood's last pop-up exhibition called disposable. I want to talk about what happens when you try to challenge systems as they are to cleverly rethink how we use wise because what. We've got here people who do that and joost. You decided early on that you were going to respond to the the whole West Challenge and goes zero waste and not only that trying to open up a restaurant that was wholly zero waste. So what did that look like what most people do is? They see the waste product and then try and work out what to do with the waste product. I go back and look at the system if the system is generating something that is now used in the system needs to change. And so. That's what I did basically just change the system so the milk I spoke to a dairy fabric supply me and stainless steel cake so we developed like tap system we ground our own flow because we we have our own flower roll around oats. We spoke to winemakers about putting wine in kegs. One on tap might our own data everything that kind of generated waste but an even does myself. Yeah but this is much that has has come from that. I mean that was a forty two square meter cafe and it has caused ripples across the world is stuff going on in New York and in London in China and in South America. That has happened because of that cafe. Today I was sent an image of a Steiner Steel Keg and the farmer has worked for four years with the health department to try and get his keg approved now. Just my little cafe was like you know quarter of a million milk bottles or some crazy amount of milk bottles that we didn't need to buy that. My dairy farmer didn't need to buy that went didn't didn't need to purchase them and then I didn't pay someone to come and collect them and that plastic really copy restocked because he's got a fat coating from this animal fat on it. Which makes it really difficult to recycle it. So you know there's so many things and then in two thousand twelve the year on Harvesting was that was completely illegal but like my main sponsor was the city of Melbourne and had the city of Melbourne. Lago all over it and I thought if I'm going to get a crack at this I'm going to do it now. Okay so you're on harvesting in a commercial restaurant space. What were you doing because you're pushing the boundaries in all sorts of directions in this cap so people will come in and inspect building and go on my God. We had no chemical us. We had so much stuff this allies of things going on that for for people that were you know from the council checking to see you know. I had no plastic chopping boards and I had electrolytes water so water that came from was invented for surgery to clean hands and clean surgical tools in Japan. Twenty five years ago. It's basically water with salt and electric current goes through it and kills bacteria instantly us. Four billion gloves every single day that get thrown away which ended up in landfill which copy recycled and now here nets. No nothing so no bins no rubbish. We had like a little jam jar that showed there may capstone came on the kegs so I had to work to say. I don't want plastic cats on paper caps so they can go into our invisible composter so you can imagine how if you don't have been you've gotta work it out because you end up being left with stuff you know. We ended up having this board. That big of rubber bands because everything on the veggies and stuff in rubber bands but work with we were just talking about a with. Kerama on unlike a twin ball toilet so that Iran could be separated and stuff toilet applies to boys. Talk about in the toilets. Okay so so the so. This is the Iran harvesting story in this cafe. What did you do? And how did you challenge the health authorities big time? This was instilled in me by my dad. Probably account remember how it was maybe three or four years old so we were living in Holland and I used to go with my dad so he's veggie patch and be little like delft. Were little bottles. It'll all these little things coins I'd find one that had all this stuff come here in the solar we miles away from any any city or and he said we'll hundreds of years ago. Farmers would go to cities and shovel the human manure of the trenches to re fertilized their soil. Because you can't just keep pulling from soil so became caught assist with that idea and knowing that you know I don't know what it is some safe. Three percents is seven percent of the world's gases used to create a fertilizer a synthetic fertilizers. And I must say that. That fertilizer isn't even a good fertilizer because it doesn't actually narcisse soil properly. What we're doing is with mining soil. And we're not putting back what we've taken out so for me. It's like logical that we can't solve this problem unless we start looking at putting the nutrients that we've taken out back in. So what did you do with Iran in the restaurant so we use it on grain crops so use it to fertilize mustard crops in thousand and use it as a herbicide that we did all sorts of trials different levels to say what kind of facility was brought back to soil? We ended up with three and a half thousand Litas from a five-week pop-up.
