Philadelphia Eagles agree to terms with RB Jordan Howard

"Philadelphia signed jordan howard and they resigned boston scott last week and the bengals awesome good. That's just that's okay. If i will stay with the bengals released giovanni bravo. Go to the eagles this matter. We're just glossing way where we're just going to gloss over geelong we'll come back to that start with the eagles does. Does this matter. Jordan howard and boston scott back and again. The boss scott was not a surprise. They tendered leave so they did. We knew he was coming back. But now jordan howard joining the fold does this matter for miles sanders. Obviously scott matters more. I wonder if he'll become their version. Of nahim hines. And kinda sorta was already and jordan. Our coming back i. I'm not sure why. I don't know what they saw. In jordan howard. When he was in miami that makes them want to put him on the roster that maybe the roster spot is in guaranteed that would probably be the case We'll see it's not gonna make me any more nervous to draft miles sanders still think sanders worth a top thirty pack

"Safer land has hires you. Who's the year too wide receiver. That has a big year after doing almost nothing as a rookie like like dante johnson. Basically liked dj. And michael gallup year for that and courtland sutton is it pitting pitman. I think judy is the easy answer. Yeah oh yeah rugs do. I mean if you're on just go with nothing. But if there outdoor jalen reagor and their rake shot likely to be the number one wide receiver. And it's he had like three separate injuries in the first five or six weeks of the season including training camp. That just really made it hard for him to abrogate going. I've been studying serianni over the weekend. And i talked to a couple of people about any and apparently first while he's a former receiver won three division three national championships at mount union and apparently everywhere. He's gone. He has improved the passing game for wide receivers. You'll read about it on. Cbs sports dot com zach. Paschal told me that he's the he's the reason why he's like. He had a good year last year. It was nick suryadi and just getting ask. The answer are screw. No paschal wasn't what the best year of his career. He's talked about that. No listen. I don't think i don't think he's about to have a bunch of pascal's as you're headed for five was a breakout for him for him would be. The point is is that i think receivers are going to have a a nice role in philadelphia because of syria again. Be worth didn't have anybody great last year. Who was healthy. All right so well they did have dallas goddard and jamie you have him listed on your breakout lists here and he in three games. A jalen reagor average right around forty yards per game did not score a touchdown. He was on fire. her yet. Jalen hurts he was on fire the three games before that with carson wentz sixty six to seventy seven yards in all three games and whatever. The production wasn't as good with with hurts. Those were hurts. His first starts so anyway dallas what. What is his upside. He could be a top five tight end if not better. I mean this is the type of situation that we look for a terrible receiving corps with a chance of a tight end leading the way and being the best guy on the team. And i think that's pretty clear with alsgaard show you in. Tandem was akard before when he was a top ten tight in what he showed you at the start of the season last year when he was healthy and wentz was actually playing. Well i think jalen hurts gonna realize that dallas goedert is best option in the passing game so god has got a chance to be really special to see anybody disagree with that. I'm not totally convinced. Alex got it is Like there was like some dallas to better than zach ertz talk last offseason. I'm not sure he's that kind of talent. I don't think he's really Showed that he's been relatively inefficient receiver over the course of his career. But look if the targets are there if he gets a hundred and twenty targets. He's going to be a top five tight end.

dante johnson Jalen carson wentz Alex Tandem Paschal last year sixty jamie nick suryadi seventy jalen three games michael gallup zach ertz wentz five first philadelphia six

"Here on our early breakouts edition of fantasy football today jamie. I'm looking at your list that you gave me. And it's got tee higgins cd lamb and brandon aiyuk three to wide receivers. What can they break out to. Can they be top. twelve wide. Receivers think higgins lamb. I mean not that. I took the low hanging fruit but i took the low hanging fruit. I mean you saw the the sample sizes of what these guys were when they were at their best last year. Two of which when they had their quarterbacks in terms of d higgins with borough in cd lamb with dak prescott in you know you just see what the could be over sixteen games. Hopefully those guys stay healthy with their quarterbacks and you could be talking about must start wide receivers and when he was he was a superstar. You know so. All three of these guys are the chance to special now. You gotta work in deebo samuel being healthy because he missed so much time and george kittle. Miss that stretch of game. So kenny still do that with those guys around. I'm gonna say. Yes if the quarterback situation is at least jimmy garoppolo and hopefully maybe an upgrade But the upside for all three of these guys going into their second year. Not all three are going to materialize. But i think the the sample of what you saw can make you very encouraged about what they could be as their careers. Continue to progress. So higgins lamb. I you did you say which one is the most upside. I think you know higgins probably just given the opportunity to be the lead guy there you still have to worry about lamb with cooper with the other guys there but t higgins could easily be the number one receiver from cincinnati. And so if he does take that next step of borough comes back at one hundred percent they add another offensive. Linemen obviously run the ball. Bit better with. Joe mixing opened up in the passing game. I mean you could see the cincinnati offense upset could be as we talked about joe burrow. You know what was he. Top six seven in terms of passing yards per game. When he was healthy and higgins was putting up a a big portion that was with. Aj green on the field for whatever that's worth whether green was producing or not producing. He was still there taking targets away. And so is the third guy who's going to replace. Aj green going to be better than they did green. I don't think so right away. Maybe eventually depending on how they address that..

Joe jimmy garoppolo jamie dak prescott george kittle joe burrow last year cincinnati second year kenny today third guy one hundred percent deebo samuel over sixteen games Two Top six seven twelve wide borough three

"I think swift is the only one. I really count on to be a legitimate passing game help the way the lions used him last season and the skill set he showed. I think he's probably the best bet among this group to have sixty five to seventy targets. I think it's an open question for everyone else So he might actually end up being number one among this group once. I you know tweak things but i like all of them well enough i think acres is the one that i'm least likely to draft this year. He you know the the six games where he was really the every down back playing. Sixty five to seventy five percent of the snaps. He rushed for five hundred and sixty one yards which is awesome but only had fourteen targets in those five era. Those six games one hundred forty seven receiving yards. I'm just. I'm not sure. What the receiving game role is going to be. That hasn't really been there for the rams since todd gurley new quarterback there was running backs all the time in fact that the andre swift has a new quarterback. That hasn't who's running backs in two years. I just don't think that matters a lot more within the context of the offense and the quarterback themselves. There are certain quarterbacks who don't throw the ball to the running max. But that's mostly mobile quarterback deshaun watson who are more willing to scramble than just dump off so acres. The carries were a huge carry. Tom numbers twenty eight in the first playoff game. One hundred thirty two overall in those six games when that fifteen to sixteen per game rather than twenty to twenty five. I'm just not sure how high the ceiling is. If that receiving role doesn't materialize. Jamie wanted to give us your rankings. Of those four. Chris went miles sanders swift nixon acres acres slipped sanders acres swift acres. I well acres swift sanders. Mixson okay and then data. They're all my top fifteen. Okay give me a quick ranking. Then jamie expand on acres number one acres swift mixing sanders to interesting very jamie europe first acres number one. I just think they're game flow is going to be a lot in his favor. This is going to be team. That's gonna have a chance to win a lot of games. I think his role in the passing game will increase slightly. I don't think it's going to be two point where he's a dynamic pass catcher but i think a full offseasons gonna matter for him tremendously. I do think the quarterback change will help him. I also think that mcveigh's gonna realize what his skill set is expand that Based on what he did in college you know he was a pretty good pass. Catcher for state. I think that will carry over the. Nfl's wall as he's used in more some obvious passing down situations. I don't think they're fully trusted him until the end of the season to be a little bit more pass blocker so just being on the field in those situations with malcolm. Brown gone a veteran that they trusted to be in those spots He's not going to be part of the roster anymore. So i think acres can be a a thirty five to forty catch guy and what will do running the ball. I think that will put him in the top ten range. So that's why. I think he's a break canada's well everybody's got swift second that's interesting debut of sanders. Last go acre swift mix and sanders. And where is he by the way just in your overall running back rankings. He's nineteenth..

Jamie Chris deshaun watson Sixty nineteenth todd gurley fifteen six games five hundred fourteen targets Tom two years twenty seventy targets twenty eight two point one hundred forty seven receiv Nfl One hundred thirty two this year

That's <Speech_Male> the only way to make <Speech_Male> this a positive. <Speech_Male> Is that <Speech_Male> if there is <Speech_Male> like a way to play <Speech_Male> a pressure-free <Speech_Male> wild <Speech_Male> playoff game. <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> This <Speech_Male> be for baker mayfield. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I by all <Speech_Male> right. I'm a throwback to you in a second <Speech_Male> listen to this theory. <Speech_Male> Last <Speech_Male> time we saw coaches out <Speech_Male> it was the detroit. <Speech_Male> Lost a bunch of coaches. <Speech_Male> Tom brady went in <Speech_Male> there. Threw for three hundred <Speech_Male> and fifty yards and four <Speech_Male> touchdowns in the first <Speech_Male> half so. <Speech_Male> That's <SpeakerChange> the only <Speech_Male> parallel that we have <Speech_Male> for missing coaches so it can <Speech_Male> get bad. <Speech_Male> Here's <Speech_Male> the weird. Take <Speech_Male> some of <Speech_Male> the best leadership. <Speech_Male> Maybe the single <Speech_Male> best leadership. I've <Speech_Male> ever seen <Speech_Male> i went to <Speech_Male> dinner with a guy from <Speech_Male> the nba. <Speech_Male> And you know you're at dinner. <Speech_Male> It's a nice dinner <Speech_Male> and you're like oh should <Speech_Male> i get this appetizer. Should <Speech_Male> i get this appetizer. <Speech_Male> I don't know you're getting the <Speech_Male> cream spinach <Speech_Male> in this and it's just like this <Speech_Male> big mess. <Speech_Male> The guy says <Speech_Male> hey <Speech_Male> get him. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Get any appetite. You <Speech_Male> want your debating <Speech_Male> get them both. <Speech_Male> I was like wow what <Speech_Music_Male> leadership. That's <Speech_Music_Male> the game plan. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> Actually go for it on <Speech_Male> fourth and to <Speech_Male> do this to <Speech_Male> go <Speech_Male> for <Speech_Male> super <Speech_Music_Male> aggressive. The <Speech_Male> idea that you're going <Speech_Male> That's <Speech_Music_Male> the game plan. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> Actually go for it on <Speech_Male> fourth and to <Speech_Male> do this to <Speech_Male> go <Speech_Male> for <Speech_Male> super <Speech_Music_Male> aggressive. The <Speech_Male> idea that you're going <Speech_Male> to win a game <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> you know. Eighteen <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> to twenty one. <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> Just go forward <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> tree like the ravens <Speech_Male> game. <Speech_Male> The ball fifty. Nine <Speech_Male> and nick. Chubb rock <Speech_Male> the ball bunch. <Speech_Male> Take that decision <Speech_Male> making out of <Speech_Male> it just like going to <Speech_Male> the game. Let's do fancy <Speech_Male> do it right now <Speech_Male> via zoom <Speech_Music_Male> but hey guys but <Speech_Male> it's close <Speech_Male> and we lose the game <Speech_Male> let's lose <Speech_Male> punching. Let's <Speech_Male> not be playing defense <Speech_Male> and hope we get a twelve <Speech_Male> round decision. <Speech_Music_Male> Let's just go <Speech_Music_Male> for. <Speech_Male> I call it the. <Speech_Male> Get all the appetizers <Speech_Male> theory go <Speech_Male> ahead brandon. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> But there's <Speech_Male> so much online for <Speech_Male> baker though. <Speech_Male> Think about this <Speech_Music_Male> yes. This is the <Speech_Male> perfect scenario <Speech_Male> for him <Speech_Male> but it can also <Speech_Music_Male> like just blow <Speech_Male> up in his face because <Speech_Male> this is a guy who <Speech_Male> has the makeup of <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> i can lead the <Speech_Male> team now and <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> with that amount of <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> pressure in <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> that type of mentality. <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> He can go <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> out there. Potentially throw <Speech_Male> three picks for <Speech_Male> picks. And now <Speech_Male> we're talking about. <Speech_Male> Is this the guy <Speech_Male> that we want <Speech_Male> to lead our team next <Speech_Male> year but he can <Speech_Male> go out there <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> lead his team <Speech_Male> to victory. <Speech_Male> And now we're like oh <Speech_Male> my goodness baker <Speech_Male> mayfield is the guy <Speech_Music_Male> i think it's <Speech_Music_Male> it's <Speech_Music_Male> a black <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> and white situation again. <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> I think it'd be <Speech_Music_Male> really good for baker. Really <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> bad <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> yeah. <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> I don't think baker <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> complete conservative <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> and they win. I do think <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> he has to go for <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> gin. Jalen Hurts inspires Eagles to victory in first NFL start

"At least for one week philadelphia. Eagles fans can feel confident with the caliber of play. They got from the quarterback position and jalen hurts leading philadelphia to the outright upset as an eight point. Underdog against the seemingly unbeatable new orleans saints. The eagles offense showed a little bit of a pulse and the saints defense was nowhere to be found in the first thirty minutes where they surrendered more than three hundred yards. It's kyle shanahan could've done his job. The eagles would have been or would be right in the thickens. Visger that divisions a mess. I mean every time you want to give them credit for making strides ford. They they pull you back in and like you said kyle shanahan and company allowing washington to get the improbable win. But i digress silly. Despite the washington win increase their playoff chances by about seven or eight percent. So there's still a fighting chance you mentioned this game and that's what it came down to is getting out to a quick start. Philadelphia thought for the first thirty minutes. Did a really good job. And they control the trenches. Which is a little shocking. Because you had this. Eagles offensive line that was was really depleted. You've lost peter's as well in that's against one of the more talented defensive front fours in the nfl. The new orleans saints miles sanders woke up and decided to contribute. You'll get the eagles offense. Ten point four yards per russian. At first half fifty percent rushing success rate for explosive runs all in the first half. Doug peterson game plan to me was was pretty good. The script resolved the playcalling was decent in. the eagles. did enough in the first half to hang on for dear life in the second. Come away with that win. And and keep themselves alive defensively. I thought before what feels like every single starter for the eagles left the game in the second half. Billy did a nice job defensively in that first. Thirty minutes stanzas. Well three point six yards per play allowed thirty three percent success rate allow tastes. Him only ran at twice in the first half. He was semi accurate throwing it. What it was just really short. Four point three yards per attempt in that first half so across the board that might have been the eagles best half football. This season they were. They were fantastic in. It was certainly against a team that had more talent. It just looked like philadelphia. Wanted it more along. The lines of scrimmages

"Bo. When we're watching games, we sometimes forget to pay attention to the offense of Lineman, but you wrote about a play against the Ravens recently where Jordan my Lada really put himself into the center of the action. Can you take us through what happened on that play? It was sort of a typical zone read up the Eagles thirty yard. Carson wentz is in the shotgun and he has the decision as to whether to hand off the Mile Sanders or hold the ball and run himself. So that's what he does. wets keeps it on a read option he'll get out to the thirty five hour live Paul, loose ball, the ravens every covered it, and he fumbles the ball. The ball POPs out and a ravens defender picks it up the Safety Chuck Clark an se starts to run from out of nowhere comes Jordan, my Lana, this six, foot, eight, three, hundred, forty, five, pound guy probably even heavier than that, and it is as if he is. Taking over all of his training from his youth he just attacks Chuck Clark like launches into the air and in the same motion swings his left arm around and pinpoints punches the ball out, and it just shoots into the air and it ends up landing at a balance. So the Ravens keep the ball anyway but to see a left tackle do something. So athletic was definitely eye opening. Jordan. My Lada is a powerhouse in front of the microphone as well. where. Does MY PASSION FOR MUSIC COMING FROM? So he says it like everything else in his life I sort of comes from his family, a big family and Kiss. One Gill he ever cut new family I and everything that I am staying. Going I, get it from my family. So He is the child of two Simone immigrants they grew up. He was the fourth of five children in a suburb of Sydney called Bankstown and he says, you know everybody in Samoan Culture is talented in music in some way, and so he is very good on guitar. And it's true like he's got a really beautiful. You know he was never despite how big he would get. He was never sort of the biggest kid growing up but around great seven as he calls it, he starts just shooting up and it never stops and this was a very sports friendly family, but rugby league was their passion. So He's playing rugby league and all of a sudden you know it looks like he's sort of the Danny Monteverde of what's going on in Rugby League Heavy like this guy. Check his Team. Running jerk. Everybody's asking for his birth certificate like there's no way. This guy can be fourteen years old fifteen years old and this becomes the running joke. Every time he's playing with his team. We fast forward a couple of years. He's seventeen years old. He's on his rise as a rugby player. There's this scary moment one day at practice. Take us through what happened. He's playing four I guess what amounts to the youth team or the be level team the practice squad sort of for his local rugby league team in Bankstown and he collapses one day. And everybody's sort of just chalked it up to you know this guy's too big too unfit, and then a couple of weeks later it happens again and they sent him straight to the hospital and immediately you know the doctors are like we need to get you in for emergency surgery. There's an issue with his heart. And over the course of about a year and a half, he ends up having to separate heart surgeries where he has a hard abrasion and both the upper and lower chamber of his heart and at that point, the idea of even continuing to play sports he thought that that was probably over. Once the second surgery was over the doctors said, he was totally fine. He was ready to go. You know once he was recovered from that. So shortly thereafter, he gets back into playing rugby league and he's sort of on the rise. But at the same time, he has to work a part time job he's doing. Jobs. So he's starting to get a little bit frustrated and a agents toss out. The idea of would you be interested in trying different sport trying to play in the NFL his agents send his highlight video to the international pathway program for the NFL and the NFL has this program where every year about four to six or seven players from around the world are given the opportunity to work out for NFL teams and it up to La when they were. When I? I. Didn't know this for. A week in La, that's when I really like. Fine Tree and What I WANNA do the hurdle from there is he has to convince his family and his family is not about it at all and as Jordan describes it, in Samoan Culture what the elders say go. So it's basically the end of the conversation

"End Targets as the same but the tight end targets are likely to fall by about twenty percent because they were twenty percent higher last year than they even were in prior years. So you could see target share just fall down not not a bad place still over one hundred targets but not the elite number that he had last year after the receivers went down and we saw it with Erz like he was not quite that guy until everybody got hurt. Bad. Fair Enough Ben. Picking Ben like the pig on Emmanuel Sanders, something happened between a man like Emmanuel Sanders lost. Championship. Actually Manual, senators mother responded to be on twitter one time I. Think I said something very nice about him and I felt horrible about that. Are you serious I'm dead serious love Emmanuel. Sanders actually I'm a big fan of his but and drafted him for years but he's thirty three years old. Now he's about eighteen months for move from that Achilles injury late in two thousand, eighteen, I think everyone thinks that he was very good last year but he actually didn't even hit forty five receiving yards thirteen of the twenty. Games he played across two different teams including the playoffs and I don't think he broke like seventy yards in like something like fifteen of the game. There's really only like five games where he had good Games and they were splash games. He had some big plays in big moments but he was pretty quiet at times and yes he was joining new teams throughout the year all those things the bigger concern for me, and this is why I just I don't even think it should be drafted I don't understand around ten thing. Has Been drafted for the last three years no saint other than Chimera and Michael Thomas has gotten seventy five targets even jared cook last year who was good did it on sixty five targets because of huge yards target and touchdown efficiency and maybe maintainers can do that. But it's a lot easier to be reasonably good at tight end than it is to be at receiver for a guy who's thirty? Three and has this injury in his past that I'm not confident. He's the same player he was prior to it and is going to a team where it's really rare for number three option to actually see significant targets I don't think his floor has seen anything justifies this pick at all he's the biggest name value pick in all a fancy drafts here. So I just want to keep emphasizing that don't. Make the mistake of seeing that name and thinking manual sanders still the guy that that he used to be that we. Value pig that's interesting. Go ahead, Jamie Larry holder of the athletic covers the saints on on CBS Sports HQ and ask them about Emmanuel Sanders and what he's GonNa do and and you referenced the seventy five targets. No second receivers had seventy seven targets and those three years granted. It's been Ted Ginn trae Kwan Smiths. They'll take. That's where it's worth because those guys are different receivers than Emmanuel. Sanders does when sanders is right the average of those three guys is fifty four targets a year, and so that Kinda tell you where it is. So let's say he's at eighty targets or maybe he gets ninety targets I don't think he's going to be north of one hundred. He's still not GonNa be productive enough based on what those other guys do in terms of Thomas Kamara and cook. One thing Larry said, which is the thing we've been talking about a little bit is that Sanders is based on his name value and his reputation and his resume because coaches fall in love with that drew brees I'm sure is going to fall in love with that. He's going to do a lot of good things that veteran players do is he's GonNa take away from. Michael Thomas and so I was reading some stuff today that Drew brees practice. He had a couple drops and the first thing that he did after having some some drops you went right back to Tom's that's the guy he's going to go to an easily mega play. But now maybe as somebody else that you can go to play and so while fantasy productions are going to be great for him as a person as an individual. He's going be hurt the other guys just enough that you might WANNA consider downgrading Thomas not as a number one overall budget as overall pick and may cook and Camara in the past game also, I'm not going to do that but I could see where it becomes a problem because of what Sanders resume brings to the saints that they haven't had in the last three seasons. You know who? The I think just fun exercise that I just did the biggest. What did you say name recognition what was it? You call the manual standardized said name value. Yeah. Name Value Pick I'm going to say it's Jared Cook. Tied at nine eightieth overall. Same point like even cooked and get to seventy five targets. Last your buddy was good and he's still there they're still gonNA use now you have legitimate competition for the number three target spot right like yeah. I. Don't see how someone out of those to get anything I. Think they're both overdraft jerry typically doesn't get drafted in our graphs when we do like our CBS little drafts unless I take him. So to see him going eightieth is yeah Whoa wild. Well I think that's it for our show. I. Guess. We could run through the listener busts. Bust meter zero to ten Josh Allen. To Seven..

"I think there's a chance for that gets given up on halfway through the year. So like I if you're telling me for that's playing sixteen games, probably four net will get more will will get more work and I would probably take for and at that point I think it would come out higher my projections even though I'm very optimistic on Jones. But? So yeah it's a tough question to answer directly but I would still draft frankly draft a round Jones ahead of him. Before. We move on just because then brought up the name so I was talking to Beat briscoe today and he said he spoke to somebody in Jacksonville and they are in love with Lewinsky Chenault of. Love. With. Somebody, told him. A young Andre Johnson. ooh Nice. Now I'm choking because I took a drink Jamie said Pete Prisco as what I get. For making fun of Jamie. Jamie, who's your biggest bust? it's Derrick Henry I I'll stick with the same sentiment that I've said all along It's really it's Kinda like what he said he's he's going to high in my opinion I'm worried about the workload from last year with the four hundred touches when you factor in the playoffs worried about the offense wind being worse without Jack Conklin there another rookie, not one hundred percent I do think we're going to see them have to throw a little bit more as Ben as talked about based on their. Pace of play in their amount of times that they have not thrown. So his lack of work in the passing game, it's more APPR versus non PGA argument because you can take him in the first round and non pr but I think it's a back into the first round, not the top end, the first round But NPR I think we saw last year the first eight games averaging under fourteen PR points per game that puts them closer to the number two running back into does to a top five. And that's the concern for me. So in our to quarterback draft actually drafted in for the first time this was drafted on Tuesday. But because I got an around three and so that's love quarterbacks getting pushed up. That's never going to happen. I understand that But if you put him in round two and this is the back end of round two, I would take him there but I'm I'm just concerned about, Derrick Henry living up to the lofty expectations based on the eight games that he did late, the way that he performed in those eight Games which were historic last year. So you are going to still take myles sanders over Derrick Henry. NPR Yes and non are now I think sanders is is now behind him based on. The potential? All right. We got more bus coming out later in the show and we got to get to the news and notes. Remember we have a mailbag coming up later this week and we're also we've got another episode on Thursday. So a lot of content coming your way..

"So almost every bust half of the first two rounds was injury related, and that again is is encouraging means we drafted well. All right let's go through our biggest busts heath. Yeah. Let's start with the quarterbacks if you want to expand a little bit more on that mahomes and Jackson so. Nobody here is going to advocate for them going in the top six picks, but on fantasy pros and on NFC, we're talking about middle of the second round anywhere from sixteen to twentieth overall. You think that's okay. The the problem with that like and I guess you could almost make the argument for more Jackson, but I think like just looking at regression, he's likely to use lose ten passing touchdowns a couple hundred rushing yards from this year which. Could still make him the number one quarterback in four points for pass such down leagues, which is what I believe fantasy pros and NFC mostly are, but it wouldn't be the number one quarterback by a ton. It wouldn't there wouldn't be any reason to separate him from Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson, Shawn Watson by two or three rounds. He should just be drafted at the start of that group based on those expectations and it could be. A lot worse than that. We saw it with bombs like even when he was healthy I'm sorry the four or five games before you get hurt the first time he was justifying that cost but he's just you. You can't go into with the expectation. They've got to have an eight percent touchdown rate and average nine yards per attempt to justify the ADP, and that's what both of these guys that have due to justify their ADP. The middle of the second round you're saying, I think in the middle of the second round yeah. Okay. I. Guess if I were going to counter that I would just say you could look at a lot of guys were being drafted in the middle of the second round and have plenty of question marks about them right Aaron. Jones and Juju Smith Schuster Andy Andrea Hopkins and Chris Godwin. Why not just take Patrick. Tom. If you're not drafting someone that you think is incredibly safe. Why not just take a quarterback their Those the players at the other positions aren't you're not going to feel better about them later in the draft. Your the position. Later, there's a much bigger drop off at running back and wide receiver, and there is a quarterback. This is a discussion I. Think we get into. A problem we get into with all of our discussions frankly, we just talk about the. Alternatives at the specific and not about how it affects your entire draft. That's one less elite running back or one less elite wide receiver. No matter how you slice it not mahomes verse those guys. But at the end of the draft, if wet mahomes over those guys, you're going to have one less really high player at one of those other positions like he said, and then you're replacing it with a later option at those positions that would have been your quarterback pick like it changes your whole roster again. It just easier to find quarterbacks I mean you're not gonNA find mahomes and Jackson, but it's easy to find those guys. I mean, you go back to the last year and even if you take Lamar the equation. If Lamar. Jackson. Didn't have the year that he had. What would we be saying about the James Wants to head. Like James was awesome. Last year for fantasy and he was I think the thirteenth quarterback off the board. You know. So you're you're talking about a guy threw for five thousand yards and so again, that's hard to find to. But you have we said this time to get into throwers. Stafford in and Rothlisberger and golf the runners of Dana. Jones and Cam, Newton and Menchu and. Maybe. tyrod depending how many games he starts you know. So there are so many other ways to go at that position that you shouldn't have to reach for quarterback, which is why I think he is right to call those guys bust and why it's in your best interest to take those other positions at those spots. Okay. Do you guys ever feel though like man I never get bachelor homes or Lamar Jackson and that They're also. I'll give you I'll give you the scenario. You know we the stories are up on the site right now you know. So we're doing and we just got finished talking about this a lot. You know. So let's let's pull back the curtain for a second. So we've been doing a lot of mock drafts and this is not just August this is going back to. Since the end of the NFL draft, you know we've had to fill a lot of content on our site because of the circumstances, surrounding sports around the league around world and we we've done more objects. We're we're oversaturated ourselves with mock drafts and Ben and I the conversation we're having was we and we said we joke about this we know everybody's picks. So then he myself and Dave are doing this pick by pick series and what are we doing in the by pixies were drafting three separate teams against each other. So imagine knowing what everybody's going to do, and now everybody has the control over three in the same format so I, take in the market accent impact on hold I think twice in the two times that we've done it and it feels good to do. It does but it feels good to do it in the third round not the first round not the second round you know and that's where I think the difference comes into play. You're not going to get those guys around three in most your drafts around to your soul and client then take him in round two but just don't take at six and seven like we're seeing on our ADP. Okay. All right, fair enough Ben who is your biggest bus one that you really want to highlight. Leonard Fournette. Hundred targets last year and just looking at his workload. He would be like the greatest target and drafts this year because he got a huge receiving workload, he is definitely do if you look at his workload for touchdown regression positive touchdown progressional scored three touchdowns. But the problem is the try to train them all off season. There's talk in this narrative that Oh they're going to just run them into the ground maybe that happens. But at the same time, they've already had to discipline foreign at themselves in th in the first couple years of his career I can't remember if it was your one or two but. The team suspended him not the League for missing meetings and things he's hat there's Ben internal strife there and now they've gone and they've brought in Jay Gruden. He's added Chris Thompson who was a guy? He always uses a pass catching back in gruden going back to his bengals days use Giovanni Bernardo, a pass catching back. So the hundred targets are. Going away almost certainly you you're going to have a pass catching back in Jacksonville now especially when you add in Levinsky Chenault who will probably play them around the short hair, the field that might even mix into the backfield they've talked about using him creatively. There's almost no way that Leonard Fournette gets another one hundred, very low efficiency targets like he. Got Last year. So he's this early down runner now but also one who team doesn't like doesn't want around has had problems with in the past I don't buy that. They're going to just run them into the ground I. Think this team's going to be out of it by mid season and they might just the activate him. They might trade him they might. Whatever they might just move on and see what they have and right armstead and the rest of the group. I don't think anyone like this is a perfect example of August, workload expectation not like people not recognizing what that means for what can happen in season. This is a team that might just give up on line four and a half way through the year and you have to factor that in like he's not someone all draft anywhere. Do you think Ronald Jones will be better than.

"Man They they bounce all over the place I we we still believe in Lamar him in Patrick Mahomes, but you saw. MELO's Mahomes the QB seven or so I know he got hurt but I'm saying he looked on fire and then it was just. Then, it was just good. Yeah. So quarterbacks tough. All right. Well, and the thing is is all players can get hurt to subvert the. You know like Oh man, they draft a quarterback tight in high and they could get hurt and they could ruin you draft in the high but you know that applies to running backs wide receivers to and you need more depth that those positions. a little riskier. All right. Here's a question from the website Robert Woods versus Dj More Jack Wants to know if I if the draft shakes out and I, go running back for the first two rounds, which is the better choice for a wide receiver. One is Robert Woods or as a DJ more. It's Robert. Woods. Y- for me. It's DJ more. I love both of these players when I look at I think they're both safe I think they're both the clearcut ones and they're going to be involved in manufactured in their offense but the upside to me is still on Dj more site. We he you know he's coming into his third year and he could break out in the NBA superstars athletic profile, his draft capital, what he's his production in his second year a lot of things point to him having a true superstar ability whereas Robert Woods. We know what he is, which is awesome for fantasy consistent, reliable, love getting them. But if I'm picking between those two players, I, I, still want that upset Dj more for me. Yeah I like the the Timpson Los Angeles and the fact that there aren't. Any other options that feels like but yeah, Dj more has more upside no doubt. Ariella grab another voicemail question. Kevin from Indiana a few years ago I was able to start. Alvin Kamara and mark ingram every single week and make tamales championship was wondering if there were any sensing that same position players that you would feel comfortable starting weekend outlets. Thanks. Same team same position. That's an easy. Yes. But it's not running back. Yeah. Let's talk about running running but let's let's talk didn't say that. Yeah. But it is unhelpful. There's only one running back corps that I would be okay with I. Don't know if you guys can think of more but to me it's it's nick cream hunt I think you're going to be able to play both of those guys single week and be completely I think both players will be a top twenty four back almost every single week. There's a chance that you could get that out of Denver. There's a chance you get. Lindsey and Gordon there's there's the opportunity for that. There's not very many backfield's where you can look at it and say I mean do you think Justin Jackson and Austin our eligibility I was the one I was going to bring up of we've seen la be able to sustain two running backs value. It's it's. Pretty rare that you see the starter and the backup running back both putting up numbers now, Alvin Kamara latavius Murray. See even. Start every week in for the reason, they were able to do that because his skill set was so different than Melvin Gordon it'll be very interesting to see how the depth chart shakes out. There was the little news report Justin Jackson is getting some time with the ones simply meaning he is ahead of Joshua Kelly, which if you look around. Then, Edwards layer like. The rookies are backups they? No. One has been able to move up the depth chart just San. Francisco Oh. There you go. That's possible. Coleman moster. It's possible. He Annapolis or the Anakin Taylor? Unless McKinnon comes. OFF OF LINE I don't think you're going to be happy with Mac and Taylor I feel like you need one of the two backs to have a pass catching. Role in the offense for both career. One of his Taylor and Hines hines not losing third downs in that on and off. How about. The Andrea swift and carry on Johnson. Was it. WAS IT BE Yeah nothing. Really. In Detroit Backfield, if you just want to be a pure nihilist. Nothing, matters go ahead start the lines running any chance for Leonard Fournette Chris Thompson. I'm throwing some wild cards out there. I will say this far more than the Detroit back. Last one Devon. Single Terry Zach Marks. That did pop up in my head as well. If single terry is is the Mass Forte and then Zach Moss's Michael Bush the difference in our answer to what you had with Ingram and camera is that we are speculating on maybes and there really aren't a lot of there's all. There's only one probable which has chubb in trump and haunt I. think you could start them week in and week out. But if you do that, realize you are you are for sure capping your upside. Here's a nice follow up from Tim in California Jonathan Taylor at rb twenty seven seems low. Why are you so low on him? Yeah the the truth is. It you know the the way the temperature felt the way the breeze was going by that I mean, the information were getting out of out of camp from their regime from the coaches. is they were it's GonNa be Marlin MAC now. At least for to start the season I am sliding closer and closer to Jonathan. Taylor. Takes that job. On the on the quickness on the quick end maybe even game too. So it Jonathan Taylor will be moving up in my ranks Mr Marlow AMAC is the is the reason that Jonathan Taylor, Solo I love Jonathan Taylor. I think he's outstanding but I can't see a world where MARLA MAC doesn't have one hundred fifty carries us here. That's not much. You know you had two hundred and fifty last year I think they're going to involve him. This is obviously a a slower process for rookies this year getting involved So yeah, I think I think it's GonNa be at some point during the second half of the year Jonathan Taylor is going to be a weekly fantasy football option but on the course of the.

Jonathan Taylor Robert Woods Alvin Kamara Justin Jackson Detroit Melvin Gordon mark ingram Dj MELO NBA Lamar Terry Zach Marks Timpson Los Angeles MARLA MAC Patrick Mahomes Ariella Indiana Coleman moster nick Kevin

"His take was quote I don't sense any great concern, but he'll miss some time. The team is making sure players stay as healthy as possible. I mean philosophy for most it's week-to-week week-to-week. The great news is he has you know week to week until the season starts. Yeah. Nick Chubb is in the Concussion Protocol. which is what all concussions lead to Yup. We do have some time there as well. Ryan Fitzpatrick, the clear starter right now in Miami? As expected, you could get real run with devante Parker early in the year even if things get murky later on, this was the dead last. Offensive Line last season they are ranked dead last going into this year but there is There are some significant investment on that offensive line. So that transform during the season Preston Williams practice with no restrictions on Monday. That was the dolphins rookie wide receiver last season who showed great he was undrafted free agent dominated preseason then came out and was looking like man this guy is for real was in fact the target leader yes. Tore his ACL but it's nice to see him back without restrictions. He's he is definitely on my late round guys to pay attention for list I know I've been higher than him on him. The new to have does this news change things for you that he's back a camp without restrictions I you know I think he's a talented player and I wanted to say I'm coming around on him. I am looking at his game logs from last year with this the hype you're talking about the targets, he didn't catch a lot of those targets and it's fantasy finishes. Last year, there was one that one out of nine games where he was relevant forty, five, forty, seven, forty, five, forty to sixty, thirty to fifty seven. That's as I seven weeks so. With gaseke with devante Parker Preston, being the third target in a Miami offense I guess I'm not in. Well, that's the question though is, is he actually the third target because while his fantasy finishes weren't necessarily great during that time and I'm I'm not as bullish for starting Preston Williams and fantasy where I was coming around to is the fact that. We, saw the shift when Preston Williams was the target Guy Devante Parker got into his fantasy rocketship Preston Williams, went down now is that will that hold will was that Ryan Fitzpatrick has decided that this is what I really want to do with the ball and the same for my sickie like his targets really went up after Preston moins was no longer there. So to me, it's not I like Williams to play for fantasy. It's what does he do to the rest of the team? What do you think? I it it causes more concerned for Devante Parker but. For Parker strange enough after a guy did what he did last year it is is ADP has stayed relatively neutral where people are still concerned about the downside of him, some or years of sucking. I get. Yeah. But. Where he where Parker is an ADP I'm fine going on that. All Right Clyde Edwards Allaire got a day off. which revealed a little something about the. Backfield behind him, Daryl Williams Yup received the first team reps in training camp. There will be I mean they're not going to go out there and give Clyde Edwards alert every single carry on every single. You know down. As a rookie and so we're kind of looking and trying to figure out his idea Andrei Washington is that Daryl Williams is that Darwin Thomson we know the name begins with D that's the. That right. That's that's for sure and that's what's important like if you're on wheel of fortune. The you are in the clue is. In the running back for Kansas City D. Yes. So we got that so you can get to the next guest I think it's it's between Williams in between Washington, we'll see what is happening in for the W.. It's It's either it's d-w. So Dark Wing Duck, oh but and if for those who are like, oh, quite Edwards got the day off. Don't worry all be reporter reporting on on C. H. Out of Kansas. City has been absolutely glowing using him on deep routes he is. He is as advertise. He is the player that they've they draft. They thought they drafted if I had to make a guess right now I would lean towards the experienced the offense side of things with their Williams over de Ondre Washington is possible but look there are Williams just dying to go out there and give you eight for thirteen again. Week four when he was the number eleven fantasy running back. On eight for thirteen. o The chiefs two touchdowns. What else do we have? I think that the the little note here about IRV. Smith the athletic is reporting that. Irv Smith tied in for the. Vikings. It's possible that they're gonNA use them on the outside a little bit more which. Look given their personnel. This makes sense just in Jefferson Really had a ton of success from the slot. I'm not saying that Justin Jefferson can't be an outside wide receiver. I'm just noting his real major success came when he was a fulltime slot wide receiver. If you put IRV on the outside bigger out there, he becomes you at least a little bit more interesting I I want I want to buy into IRV Smith I just couldn't see what the Path was. It's a path more snaps if they do some, which is a passenger routes and more targets because they've valuable snaps. General you know what? You can't do on the outside block in line like you. You're out there to run a route. All right. Here's what we need you to do. You see that DB eliminate him from the run.

"Wrong. John Greenberg second grew up in Chicago. Do realize the depth of the rivalry between bears and the old the biggest joe harshest rivalry. It's bitter you can't do. You can't sell out your hometown. And furthermore he now lives in Lost Angeles and they do have two football teams. And now you're saying you're Green Bay Fan and the only thing anybody can sort of connect the dots on is that Anthony is friends. Wins with Randall. Cobb used to play in Green Bay. Who did go to Kentucky? But they weren't even at Kentucky at the same time long gone so somehow Randall. COBB has talked. Ad into being a big green hair and while he's supposed to be getting healthy enough to play. Maybe tonight dare I say against the Cleveland Cavaliers at home here at staples. He's up there celebrating discount on help me out here yeah. We won't put a EH Green Bay packer. Born ray way back home but again father Wayne a lot off. The Super Bowl brought him a lot of br paraphernalia. I don't have any problem with him. He has been loyal to the packers. Won I was texting. What's last night tried tried to jinx text in this game's over at half time just to see if I could jinx it but whatever so now back to the question okay Aaron Rodgers? Here's made a few big time throws but as I told you before the throws that he made on third and eight and third and nine. I was dumbfounded. As to the defense that the Seattle seahawks played on those two plays because on the first one somebody named Ugo Ahmadi who played eleven snaps. That was. This is eleven played tin snaps in the game before that one winds up in single coverage on Devante ATAS disrespectful. What are you doing? This kid is five nine in Davonte is a real full. They list him at six. Looks like he's six two to me but he's at least four inches taller and Aaron sniffed it out right away so he was in single angle coverage in the slot. They don't line him up that much about a quarter of the time in the slot but once you got him in single and the safety on that side moved to center field he just switched the route from slant to outbreaking in Devante just got re released mart and he just runs up the field and Aaron just drops it over the five nine guy for thirty two yards and that was basically basically the football game but it did come to third nine the next time and they wind up with a backup. Safety named Lando Hill. On Jimmy Graham. WHO's one of the three three? He's the middle receiver of the three trips to the right and somehow just runs a little underneath route. You said well. It's kind of a pick play but not really. There's I'm not going to throw a flag on. He didn't touch him. But what you try to try to get the roof. Yeah because he's he's the inside guys pushing up and you try to rub your guy but the guy was so far. Aw Aw what are you doing. In Atlanta Hill. By the way had played seven snaps in the game. How do you wind up on the two third logs? That are gonNA make or break. The football game with Google Amati and Landau Hill on the two key receiver and so Aaron kind of had the double pomp with a guy in his face and he throws curveball. That went down his back foot off. He throws off his back foot every only ever does I got a completion percentage. Graham not make a sweet little title. Snag off the up off against his former team to diddy. It wouldn't even be close up and got me about fifteen miles just a good measure. Oh you're saying you're way better than Jimmy I do and I would have been made it that close but that's the difference because San Fran is. I'm not gonNA give him that free accident. You're not gonNA say devante atoms and man to man coverage and the end of the game when you gotTa have. It just doesn't make any sense. Remember on the Jimmy. Graham ramp lay. They were rushing five. So that when extra but clowney didn't rush and I thought he's supposed to drop back into that lane zone blitz and he just stood at the line of scrimmage. So is really six that you rushing and and you're only covering with not enough so that's what that's what it is game matches up. I think well for the forty-nine is because again like I said they can get pressure on Rogers with just four guys and we saw how that happened on the first drive of the game when they play in Green Bay it was a sad call stumble 49ers Dan scored wedding. It was two plays later. Something like Yep so I do not think devante. In fact I'll guarantee you Davante Adams will not catch eight balls for one hundred and sixty four yards Sunday. They will just say no and the thing is that there's three or four fiscal. Is that what they can do. Is that their inside. People Armstead and Bucknell diggle will wreak havoc on those. Because that's the weak link We don't know Lago because I think he tried to go and he ended up feeling ill. He left backyard as good as it left tackle but their inside people are very good skill. And that's where you can take advantage of. Because that's what a Minnesota delegate New Orleans the tackle pretty good but we put our best Russia's on your guard art. They're not used to going one on one especially with speed guys. So you're jumping right off the bandwagon. The greatest throw the football ever Aaron Rodgers in an NFC championship game against Jimmy Garoppolo. And you're saying no to. Tom Brady not to go. He went home. Why because sometimes is being the having? A great quarterback is not good enough. I know what you're trying to do. Well my guy go where I got my homeboy and look I would love for it to be. I'm sure possible for it to be my homeboy rodgers now angry. I don't know if we're going to be able to get then I'll be able to get that But overall I guess how am I gonNa go get college thousand hand. Got Me some rings. I remember with the ball. War can't go away. Dragging the gatorade stopped drinking all the blade seriously and soon it thrower the football. He's not Jari Rijn. I did not say he didn't have a shot having a slim shot and he'd be more than seven points. Yeah but it'd be let me give you this and since two two thousand twelve. Aaron Rodgers is one in five facing an opponent of playoffs that he also facing the regular season teams are figuring him out. Well you have to find a way okay to do something a little out. He's GonNa have to specify this game. He's Stevo he can be special skipped but you know the forty nine loaded forty now what is basically the whole gist. been the best team in the NFC. They'd been one or two now we we're back and forth with them Dallas a little guy the Dallas and then against the rams right. I'm sorry but we're not talking about Haina it's hopefully. We'll be able to talk about this time of year. We'll be able to talk about cowboy. Yeah I wouldn't count on it. I just want to be in Miami for.

But in order to continue to face what you gotTa do you gotTa Win. You can't keep taking pills and talk about you. Two Years Twenty twenty now okay and thinking about this game. And he's only twice was against a Florida gets maybe that's it okay. So why is he doing it now. Partly for the money and partly because I think he just feels responsible to his fans like they're like we we. Are you know that that is for the fans what they want. I don't know Conor McGregor with talk himself back into being Conor McGregor McGregor but he's he's saying nothing offensive to his opponent because he even allowed the opponent he's he's GonNa Fight Him at one seventy which is is going up in so cowboys is thankful. He's he's arrested gratitude. Thank you for. Let me fight at one seventy. I didn't have to lose any way. We're also also skip because one forty five fifty five so he doesn't have the losing the way he's all the to do just maybe two or three pounds because these strikes me of the guy that walked around seventy one seventy five. Okay so let me tell you when they faced off after the press conference or you've cowboys running much bigger cal. He's half the size a cowboy cowboy prod walks around one ninety five remind just my he looked like it yesterday. He's young he's definitely the bigger. Yeah so this. "You go yeah thank you road to perdition lot of Philadelphia might have been some of his best work with with Gilby like that thing? You do real good point time you gotta give them a little bit and yet you know what what what. The acknowledgement is actually an indictment of your guy. Because I still give you. He should be one of the five hardest to guard. What are they talking about? Shooting Shooting Jumpers. No they're talking about freight training to the basket because when he freight trains on Kevin Durant. Kevin can't stop his Kevin Seven feet tall with like a seven seven wingspan. Okay and he can't deal with him because Lebron is too big strong quick powerful. You've got the guard and he's ambidextrous at the rim. But I I don't see him attack the rim very often sometimes late in games he doesn't WANNA go clank. Those free throws last night balls. Go look they don't give us they. Don't we're shooting a career low from the free throw line. I get that but also skipped we go into the land a career low. I told you what's happening. subliminally the refs are not reciting. They're not respecting him because he can't make late game free throws Jane's makes his like crazy on you due to the free throw line because you cash them in what about what about the other night. Thirteen thirty seven last night. What was it called Ale Portland? Oh James Jason Way. I thought it was significant. James is not on Kevin's list of hardest to guard and a lot of people believe the greatest offensive player in history. Yeah he definitely got to be able to live okay so guess who is on the list. We haven't talked about my guy. Joel embiid Joel. And Kevin's okay. But but he's acknowledging he is difficult to deal with a measure question if they'd had this say back safe from nineteen ninety three until two thousand three who take the toughest Cook Guard Shack. He three twenty five okay. So He's saying in beads that all all right but you can't beat that guy if you get zero points in a game well to me he got on this list ahead of James Harden and that might be a little hard for james to swallow. Yeah I guess I don't Look I. I appreciate James Game You know. I think he bought the stuff that he's doing. I didn't think anybody over over dude. I didn't think I'd see somebody. Once I joined. Go for thirty seven. He'll season. I ain't nobody ever GonNa get that close again but the James Harden go through JD threatened. PORTIA game yeah. But there's some nights when he can't buy three and when that happens you gotta chance there are some Nice. He can't miss a three seventy five. I agree but last night back boy he looked like he was in a skunk funk he would he was not happy but that's okay but lonely my guy all my guy even list yup gets honored by everybody. All you worry about eleven assists the gang. Is that a career. He didn't rank best point guard the way he made it real clear high res not on this list but he's at he's healthy. Kevin said he's the best point guard. Okay about all that because Kyrie re was on Jimmy Buckets list cavs predicted okay. He got he got a handle. You know we've seen steph curry. We've seen Isaiah. There ought aw became. Nobody knew what Carl Riccadonna. I wouldn't even that so Kevin being a little hot water with Kyrie and James. His former team carries Guy Areso. We need a few more pieces where he learned that Brian. Jane brought that up because I wanted to. The Lebron get blamed for car easy.
