"63 but I came and I felt nothing. Tiger as long as he stays healthy, so we don't know how his knees are. We never know how is back and he's not. Well. I don't feel well today. Here. You know, he doesn't make excuses like some people do. So if he's healthy, I think he wants to do four more majors. Meaning is gonna expect if he's healthy. You could win a major this year he could still win the US Open. Irwin Augusta And the reason why he has a thing over Augusta over all the other players. He's not scared. When it comes down the stretch. So many guys even Brooks captain, even though he'd won. What? For? Peter, You never know how they feel. Coming down the stretch, Tigers thereto win. He's not there. He's not going back up. He didn't back up when you want to go. So the bottom line is if he's healthy. Because I was the only people I ke. I want radio company go and all the other people were saying Well, he's never going to win another make you well. If he's healthy, I went on and said if he helped me he still has the ability to win majors. That's his only drawback. Yeah, but it's such a big if I mean that you could put that kind of qualifier on so many professional athletes if they can stay healthy, But the problem with that is Most of most of the people who we put that kind of label or put that kind of Ah Caveat on have massive health issues have an inability to stay healthy. That's why we're saying it if Yeah. I mean, if he were a guy that was beset by a fluke injury or freak injury in his mid twenties. There'll be a higher probability of him, um, rehabilitating or coping with pain and playing through it. He's 44 years old now, and I know sports medicine is better, and I know What players do to train and heal up and All of that is more advanced and more sophisticated now than it was years ago. But it's still I think hanging over Tiger Woods. You know, I also think you know the nerves and the mental side of the game or he had a mastery over his competition. I don't think that he has lost all of that. But I don't think he has The kind of, um I don't think he Intimidates his counterparts the way that he once did. I just Mind my anecdotal. Opinion on this is I just don't feel like when Tigers in contention. On a Sunday That engulfed at a golf tournament or a golf championship. That Those around him are freaking out in panicking and choking and falling apart because Tiger is lurking, and that was absolutely the case when he was in his prime. Here's Howard in South Carolina on CBS Sports Radio. Hi, Howard. As and I say that he just broke it again. So now he's four over. Go ahead, Howard. How are you today and I just want to say living about an hour. I'm not much of a golf and that he had been until Used to hating, loving He is interested in golf. He's the kind of person that was the thing that really galls left. He's never been the same thing there been anybody replacing. Well, let me boxing had Tyson and had some great heavyweight rivalries Holyfield in there, so I wouldn't I would say that that was probably boxing's apex. Well, actually, I wouldn't even say that. I would say boxing's Probably Best arrow was In the early part of the 20th century. But There hasn't been a personality or I don't think at any point Mike Tyson might now now I'm kind of talking in circles here going every which way? Mike Tyson was absolutely if not the biggest athlete in the world. He was very close. You can debate it with Ali. There was no debate He was for about maybe 1/2 decade to a decade, he was the most popular athlete or the most known athlete in the entire world. And boxing's got nobody like it now, that's for sure. It's barely relevant here in the United States. It's a niche sport now. Elvis is in Alabama on CBS Sports Radio. Go ahead. It's a long pony. Hey, man, I was going to talk about golf, and I will. But I just want to shoot this touching from boxing. No. The seventies and the eighties. I would call that the golden era of boxing because you had Ali in his prime. I also called the end of types. And you had a lot of good heavyweights. Yeah, really Good topper box on the tiger. I think You, me and everybody else out there, and he's just I realized that Got here is done. There's not another tiger can't be another tiger, because what more the biggest things of value When he came along, Wass is asking Americans. And so even if another, I'm gonna marry you long, But there's already been one plus the odds of anyone of any color coming along a winning 12 18 14 majors. It's incontestably small. So I just need to realize be thankful and grateful that Tiger pulled together, came back and won one more major, which I didn't think he would. I don't think you'll need it anymore. And that's okay. Be okay. But maybe maybe it'll never your to your point. It will never be. Yes, in the limelight or as popular as it was during his heyday, which is Entirely possible. That's a big reason why I wanted to have this discussion with you today. You keep the conversation going on Twitter at CBS Sports Radio at the Pony Express. So.

"Breakthroughs in biotechnology. So our guest today is someone who's been with us a number of times probably five or six times. Now, one of our original guests is Dr Alison Venenum and she's a cooperative extension specialist in the Department of Animal Science at the University of California Davis Welcome back Dr. Venenum thank you. Kevin thanks nice to be back. From my bedroom and Davis. I'm working from home to you know and it's it's just really It's been crazy times. But this has been a you're the news from your laboratory is always exciting and it's really cool because I always invite guests at the end of the episode that next time you have something. Cool happen. Let me know we'll get you back up and a few people take me up on that. You have a of times. Today we really WanNa talk about cosmo the ball, and so usually start with the question that you're trying to answer. But let's talk about the punchline who is cosmo in what is so special about him. So cosmo Isabel cough that was born back in April here on UC Davis campus and he is actually a crisper. Bull. So we have been working for about five years now to try to do a gene insertion in bovine embryos and. The result of all of that work and basically represents. The culmination of a lot of effort to. Use a genome editing to do a targeted insertion of Jane in the one cell embryo of of cows, and of course, with cows, you do your experiment, and then you have to wait nine months for the pregnancy. he just happened to time his arrival with a with a global pandemic, and so that added an extra level of excitement to the whole project, which was kind of ironic. But anyway, that's basically who he is and he is a targeted gene knockin of a particular Gene Code S R Y which stands for the sex determining region on the Y chromosome and your listeners probably familiar with the fact that Jen that sex in mammals is determined by inheriting a Y chromosome from. Dad which makes you a boy or an x chromosome from dad, which makes you go and the reason for that is this Jane Lasry, which is the sex determining region on the Y chromosome basically triggers development down the male pathway, and so that's why when you get a Y chromosome, you go to the mail pathway and what we did was actually moved that Jane using crisper cast nine and made education and copied it onto another Jane with the idea of saying whether or not. The inheritance of that Gina Learn in an ex- ex-. Gina typic-. Individual would result in in an individual that has a a male appearance and we know that in some species like, Mike Tyson infect humans and horses is being observed translations of the lasry on shoes. The X. Crime is I'm and that's resulted in ex ex lasry positive male appearing individuals, and so we think based on our understanding of biology that that likely that gene is sufficient to basically trigger the mild developmental pathway and we want more boys in beef production. In the same way, we want more girls for chicken and egg production. because. The males are more efficient at converting to gain and tend to finish it a heavier white and so If there was a choice, they'd be the preferred animal for based production. So why do kind of thing with a cow? Why start there it seems like this could have been

I can't believe he stepping in there with Roy. That's a hard night out. Let's see what happens. But I know that Mike is getting very good training. He's with guiding happy all. Cordero, who came over from Brazil did such a great job even was nominated Coach of the year in the M M a space But he's a hand coach and sort of everything else. He's striking Coach Mike Very good hands and whatever the promoter is, I mean shame on him. Shame. Shame one. Whoever the promoter is trying to come out of pretended for charity. This is for profit. Say what it is. There's no problem that will be a liar. Also you well, I'm going to talk to Roy Jones. Junior in a couple of days. You should I relay the message? I mean, come on Share. What do you want? Sure. I know Roy. Roy is not going to lie about it. This is for profit. You're not getting in there with Mike Tyson. I work with either There was some money on the line. So active. So what's were cherry? That woman? What a joke. I'm just supported that, you know, and all truth. I mean, they're pretending this is for charity. Shame on them. It's not Mike Tyson was very upfront. He says the 1st 1 to the table with a $1,000,000. Get me to sign a contract. Somebody came with a $1,000,000. You signed the contract. Pretend it's for charity. What, Sam? That's that's disgusting.

Mark Cuban on the effectiveness of the CARES Act

"We're going to be speaking today with a mark. Cuban is the owner of the NBA team the Dallas Mavericks. Lots of people know him from the show shark tank and his investing in startups very active on twitter and social media in terms of fleshing out sounding policies right now during this crisis also someone who people suspect may have local ambitions of his own one day and so sort of great person to discuss Everything that's going on right now. I would like to preface this entire interview by saying that I knew nothing about basketball or the NBA. I'm GonNa try really really hard. Let's bring in Mark Mark. Thank you very much for joining us. Or what's the deal? Tracy was just asking this on twitter. Can you give us the thirty second explanation of how the NBA Salary Cap Works? Tracy tried to cram homer for the PODCAST. And so it's like. How does that work? She wants to know. I'd rather calculate Pi digits. Explain the salary cap. Okay well fair enough anyway. Thank you for joining us. As we've been doing throughout all of our episodes during this crisis I wanna make a note that it is a May Twelfth Today. The reason that important is because who knows how the world will look in a few days when this comes out but it is here. We are may twelfth about really Two months into this crisis in most intense form because there's actually march eleventh the day that the NBA was cancelled. So two months in mark of just from your perspective. All the different things you're involved. Then how does the world look to right now sort of big picture and with the businesses that you operate and invest uncertain confused hope cautiously hopeful looking for guidance? Looking for leadership. We just don't know who to trust with our lives effectively and that's keeping people from doing things the way we've always done them. So you invest in a lot of small businesses. Could you maybe give some specifics? About how your portfolio companies are getting impacted right now. What are the biggest problems that they're currently facing big? Promise that the fall in demand you know. There's just people are very hesitant when it comes to buying products and services right now unless they're related to things you can store in your home. You know the companies. I have that are selling athletic equipment. You know those are doing well. Companies THAT ARE SELLING FOOD PRODUCTS. Those are doing well. Companies that are selling pretty much everything else are not or their businesses down is some percentage so you know people trying to get. We're trying to gauge. When consumer demand will come back and that's the most difficult aspect of trying to figure out what's next so Hudson in your view what's been done from the You know sitting aside what the right approach to health prices. We've seen we saw the cares. Package passed at the end of March with the idea of helping least small businesses keep employees on payroll to not to prevent the unemployment crisis from getting worse and for people to have businesses to be to to go back to work to when the health crisis lives also seen a range of things from the. Fed in your view. How effective have those measures band? At least dampening the pain from this some some To some extent you know I'll refer to Mike Tyson. Who said everybody's got a plan until they get punched in the mouth right and the cares package that the plan was great. The initial timing of it was great. It was it happened very quickly. The implementation was was too slow and so when we got you know the day the NBA was cancelled march. Eleventh and people started really realizing that there were issues that we're going to have to address from out perspective and then you know relatively quickly for Congress the beginning of April. We had a cares for stimulus but unfortunately from that point in time till the time small businesses small medium size is actually got funding was several weeks. Add to that the fact that there wasn't enough money add to that the fact that there was uncertainty about how the money can or should be spent and what would be the case for forgiveness and that caused a lot of small businesses to hesitate and that led to a scenario where you know a month in a month. After the cares OB- stimulus was passed. Businesses really weren't able to take the steps necessary to try to continue as much business as usual and that really created a cascading negative effect. That were still in right now. So the concept was good. The plan was good but the virus punched in the mouth and the execution was near where it needed to be.

Oprah and Laila Ali: Your Life in Focus

"How are you doing? I don't know about you but I feel amazing. Okay with the dancing the meditation. And thank you so much oprah for inviting me here today. Thank you W. W. Thank you all for being here. I mean the energy in this room is so powerful because you have all chosen that you want to live a better life and you are doing starting today so as you know as you've heard I have many different titles right. My resume is pretty long but I have to tell you what I enjoy. Most is encouraging others to be the greatest version of themselves by replenishing your health your mindset and your purpose now. I was blessed to have the greatest teacher as a role model. Being Muhammad Ali daughter was truly a divine gift. It really is having him as an example shape me into the person that I am today now. My Dad had a tremendous amount of respect for himself and also for others. His courage and dedication were immeasurable when it came to standing up for people in doing what was right when. I was man thinking about them now when I was a child. He told me that boxing was his platform. It was just a job to do real work. He said boxing did not define him. He made sure that my siblings and I knew exactly how famous he was too. Oh yeah he's a say you can go anywhere in the world and people know me. Say this all the time. They don't have to know English. They don't even have to have television but they know the name Lee and he told me that it wasn't because he was the greatest inside the ring but it was what he was doing outside of the ring and I watched him doing it every day. Simply putting a smile on people's faces or free and Haas's I mean come on he did it all. My Dad always talked about how he wanted to be remembered. I remember this as a little child. It was so important to him and he was building his legacy according to his own standards. So as I became an adult his word led me to think about my own legacy. Here you are the daughter of Muhammad Ali. What are you going to do so I had an inherent desire to give back lift others as well and I knew that I wanted to make a difference in the world but I didn't know exactly how fast forward in time I was about. Eighteen years old going to school full time living on my own yes. I had a nel salon at the time I was doing nails. You ought to know that I do a good pedicure best massage you've ever had my husband knows it. I was very ambitious. One night I was at a friend's house getting ready to watch Mike Tyson fight. Y'All know who that is right. Yeah it was a heavyweight fight main event so we got our Popcorn Soda Pizza. We're getting ready to watch the fight. And all the sudden women walk into the ring and I was like. I had no idea that women's boxing even existed until that moment so I watched the fight and was it all the whole time. I went home that night. Dreaming about becoming a professional boxer myself. Well the next morning I woke up. You know we do. I started thinking I started thinking of all the reasons why shouldn't do it. I couldn't do it. I've never been an athlete had never participated in the sports of any kind in school. None no athletic background and then I really want to follow in the footsteps of the goat. I mean what I be able to do what it would take to become a boxer. I had no idea I had no idea what it would take. I wasn't that Little Girl in the gym with my father. Watching him I was my father had been done box and by the time I was old enough no exposure to any of this what people think and most of all what would my father think. I didn't think he would like it. I knew that so I talked myself out of it in a whole year went by before I decided to listen to the voice inside of me that just would not go away and I decided to give boxing try. Dr Found a local boxing gym and started training in secrecy. Yes I told everybody is like I'm just trying to lose weight. I'm just getting shape. Got About thirty pounds that I could stand to get off but in actuality I was testing the waters. I wanted to make sure that I had the natural talent and that I was going to be able to do what it would take to transform myself into a fighter and my goal was to be the best not just any fighter. I knew I want to be a world champion. I wanted to be undefeated so I went to the gym six nights a week after school and work every day. I walked in the gym excited. Eight PM never miss a day. And I worked the heavy bags speed bags shadow box and jump rope and I did it all. I mean my body was sore twenty four seven and I mean you know if any of you have ever done a Boston workout. You know what I'm talking about you find muscles that you didn't even know you had so I had to learn how to run which was something that I had never done before. My mom used to run about a mile a day. She's always very fit and she said come on. She took me to the beach and remember the first day she said. We're going to run for thirty seconds. We're going to walk for a minute. We're going to run for thirty seconds. Walked from it and we continue that interval until I could run for mile then eventually passed. I was running for two three four but she took me out there and just got me started and within about four months. I lost about thirty. Five pounds of body fat gained lean muscle and more importantly. I thought looked and felt like an absolutely different person. I had actually transformed myself into this fighter that I had the vision of so training to become a boxer was the hardest thing that I had ever done but I loved every moment of it because I kept that vision in my mind of the end result and I apply that to everything I do. Now that vision of me holding my hands up in the ring with those belts around my waist and that was my driving force throughout my entire Boston career. Once you get it you WANNA keep it so that was my vision so the news eventually got around that I was in the gym training and I remember. My father came in town and confronted me me and my father had about three really important conversations in life life changing conversations the change his life and mine and this was one of them he said. I hear your boxing. He's a True House. I Guess Dad. How's real confident? You know when my dad like I'm that one that last baby girl. I got a baby girl. Put me through the same thing right now. Lay all over again. I said is true. He said the whole world is going to be watching you and you have a light shining on you know much pressure. You're going to be under and I said yes that I've given it a lot of thought and I want to do it. Would you get knocked out or or get knocked down? I said I'm GonNa do what you did. Get backed up. My father grew more and more frustrated. Thank you grew more and more frustrated because he knew what I was saying was right but how he felt about. It was so strong so he said it. It's too hard. It's a man's sport in is not for you. I said I understand how you feel. But I've made my decision in his final. I had to do what was in my heart just like he did. And that's what I told him my heart so six months later I had my pro. Debut is my first time ever getting in the ring no amateur fights so you can imagine the pressure that was on me a young girl getting in ring for the first time with my father. Muhammad Ali in the audience eighty different media outlets my first fight ever waiting to see what I was going to do. So this was the moment to prove to my father to the world and most importantly to myself that I had become an athlete

"Audience you know from the because mark a black angle Sunday show he's Greg dial is Greg good morning how are you warning Romeo and lessons for golf or getting on an airplane very rare that I'm up this early on a Saturday but pretty unique situation that's beautiful out at this time of day yeah it is a little chilly but going to be a nice bright sunny day listen I want to talk to you about what you said and you really I think it took a lot of courage you were the only one that I heard say this throughout the last of forty eight hours since everybody's been seeking their teeth into this story you believe that he'll appeal and that suspension will be a little bit shorter and and to prove that point actually funny echo of obviously my incredible producer that you know well give me all this information I was comparing some other things that have happened in the world of sports talking about the Broad Street bullies of Philadelphia infighting was their claim to fame talking about one Marischal taking about two a player all of the soccer matches rugby matches fans you know NBA brawls Ron our test of a Ben Wallace spilling into the stands I mean this is nothing new but obviously because of how it happened where it happened with the is that the for the lights to the national stage I mean it it really has taken a life of itself well but you still do you still hold true to your statement from yesterday that you believe mouse Garrett might not play the rest of this year but he will some day be back playing in the National Football League absolutely right he will be back to play in the National Football League and if you look at the track record the history of how the NFL operates with regard to these types of finding and and suspensions almost in every case a very harsh the suspension takes place in the beginning the player has five days within which to file his appeal and then he will have an in person appeal in New York with his representatives in front of Roger Goodell in the in the good part about what has happened while someone of the good part is that the Players Association and the legal greedy Roger Goodell would be the sole practitioner sole person who makes the decision as far as the fine in in the in the suspension anything in virtually every case the initial reaction in a very harsh finances pension and then there is somewhat of a retraction to a certain extent the amount that is taken from the player and the length of the suspension so in Iraq it's a one day a longer active despicable act but for my opinions not something worthy of taking a player out of the game forever I was talking about the Lao house eight oh incident years ago when he was with the Oakland Raiders he was you know was swinging a helmet as well and again this is nothing new to sports I was shocked at the moment and use another great were just today in our interviews surreal but now that I've had a chance to digest and I started to think about all of the other situations that have happened in sports on the playing field I went through a laundry list of them this morning from Kermit Washington and Rudy Tomjanovich I talked about Mike Tyson biting the ear of Evander Holyfield Jeff van Gundy got involved in an NBA brawl almost tossed around like a rag doll talked about the run our test story he saying someone started trouble our test said years later but I ended it I mean there's just so many of these things Marty McSorley who Vancouver's Donald Brashear in the head with his stick swinging it with both hands I mean violence it these are violent games things happen and if you think that Mason road office totally innocent in this see you should think again because on the ground he was antagonizing as well what miles Garrett did atrocious but you have to look at the big picture here is that not right I agree robin in as we've talked many times the National Football League is a violent game played by violent people Indian it needs to be viewed in that type of manner that it and believe me when my house here comes back to play the the television ratings will be through the roof any of your smiles here would be allowed to play against the Steelers in a couple of weeks every national writer would be at that game every TV camera would be pointed at that game it would be must see TV and I was actually hoping that the suspension wouldn't be so long that he would have to miss that Steelers game because I think it would be a great viewing experience for for people who like to see you know it's it's like the NASCAR audience that the folks who like to watch it to see the auto accident the crash if it's something that people would want to view and to see how the Dow will not retract that suspension that much it won't bring him back out for this next go round with the Steelers but you know it in people talk about getting revenge or getting another shot what better way to do it in the next football

The heavyweight wait champion the world as you former world heavyweight champion. Vitali Klitschko is now the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Kiev and is one of the most popular politicians in eastern Europe. What's more violent boxing politics boxing my shoe much more easy. You have one opponent. We have clear rules politics you have. I love opponents no rules and in boxing input. Eh ex-professional is fighting just three or four times. A year in politics is fighting three hundred sixty five times everyday. He's five Kiev is now experiencing an unprecedented surge in foreign tourists the heading toward on Ukraine not to sample. It's famous amos cheese dumplings or it's Borscht soup but to visit the scene of the worst nuclear accident in history and the nearby ghost city city of Pripyat. Show except for to be had. I go. Kind festival. I'm on a new level new level. Talking jacked up. Yeah. That's a pre fight song. Yeah. Love. He would have been. What did you do you? Listen to music before or no pocket Naito. We'd have pop coming to park and shit has dope. Haven't make my thong before come out. He make my fights on the big speakers headphones. What was nice being the last thing? Really really loud music arena. Boom with them coming into ring. That's fire though. That's pretty artists coming out with artists come out with what do you think you like that? Yeah. Who was the first person to do that? I'm not full go Wayne Goud, but he'd have to furry food. He do with think Floyd behind the first started happening recently. Tell these ten years. Yes. In some. I've seen some seen a lot of Justin Justin Bieber walk. I was on my Floyd with house pretty funny. What do you think? What what do you wanna -ccomplish in this Bill this business? What do you wanna work with on believe you work with? This was set Mondays make my life different mean this person make a record. I mean, I kind of look at it as. You get accomplish that with two regular people would really being on the same. If you're on that same frequency, something happens that energy happens. You know? That's what happens with a lot of people that try to do stuff in their brand new artists that I mean that that means that means, you know, and they pop off immediately happens all the time, you know, so. Artif- fell off and hit to come and go, but get back on what usually happens is like a rapper like I I like to like work with like, the new guys, you know, just I I think I got a sense on who you know, who can who's about. How like a really crazy crazy drive with their with their album, whatever they're releasing. They're about to really go crazy. So you know, I wanna help them out. So I usually, you know, work with them, and and giving them giving them a big platform that I do for like a young upcoming rapper stuff is pretty dope. You know? And I kinda makes me feel sleep better night, knowing that, you know, I'm helping out, you know, more of like not just like buying or something. More of like. Yeah. Hey, look, you're talking to Mike Tyson right now. This is incredible. You have any questions for Mike while we're here. I'm just a huge fan, man. Like, I said, oh, that's the story. I was telling earlier when I got high distracted. But. Fight on on on the fucking court before year. And I just I wasn't when I wasn't with the Bush. No. But what used to like my dad has just my my God. I love my dad. God bless, but he's just a crazy was always out there and always fighting doing everything, but we used to watch your fights, man. We used to back when we used to have record him. Did we record them to and you order them on pay? So sometimes you couldn't really record him because the pay per view win the license house, we got him. But then my mom would be pissed because my dad was spend that thirty four dollars in your mother fucking fights last fifty seconds for now, we're fighting about money like, you know, he's gonna knock this motherfucker out while you. About saying. That's how long we used to watching. We had all your fights on tape, man. So I said I had to get a pitch. My dad is going to be so excited. Like, I said, I got a chance to meet everybody. Magic Barack Michael Jordan. But I'm fucking smuggling Joe Mike Tyson shit, and I'm not even on not people know me, I don't really do fan. But this is for sure family, man. So thank you for. Right. I used to watch you play have to beef with people. I think there's something wrong with this. I was just I was raised. I was raised. The moment. I was I was raised to like my dad was he always taught me protect my brothers and sisters. You know what I mean? So it so. Nope. People never really fuck with me though is fucking my teammates. You know? I mean, I would be there to be like, my teammates, my brother. So like if you go if we're going to no one really wants to fight the very few really fight. I'll I would've fought you know, what I mean. So we're really going to fight him not just play basketball. So you're not to like pick on Chris Paul, and you're not gonna pick on Blake. And then you know, I was with Kobe, and you're not just gonna rough Kobe up. You know, I mean, he me and him some rough altercations. But once I was on his team like you're not going to do that to Kobe economy. I think that's why you got me an run our tests like he was tired of people roughing him up. And we mean. Right. So just like it was never I never really wanted to get out there and fight. But like if we're gonna fight him. It'd be definitely will be gone the ones on my team fighting. There's no question about that. But let's just play basketball so family fee on Koby out in Newport Beach. She sees them the coffee shops and stuff. Yeah. Co. Yeah. Yeah. Kobe doing is out and about Cho's don't come in. Kobe from my twins ten birthday. I took them out to Newport. He worked them out. So ten euros..

But she. Right. So a piece of centered very successful business. You know, what I mean like like a really good person. So now, you kind of just stamped it because I've been going back and forth. He on feel as more fucking stopped it. And then like fuck man can't make. Oh, no. I late. I went in minutes say took off. It's nuts to be game mazing, man. And never could. I I never been the same sense. Now been the same for don't you think? That's why some people don't really like we'd it's because it shows you some shit about ourselves real. But then also think that people are afraid of the word high. No matter what it is like that word. Hi, scares people. So that's why with my whole push within his cannabis space. Right. You know what I mean? So it's so instead of like, we try to remove the word high from in and give the educational and beneficial sides of it, you know, being professional athletes because it's always looked upon as something bad losers stone, or whatever may be. But then you think about it some of the greatest athletes ever walked this are like the, you know, the man sitting next to me. Yeah. Some of the best basketball players greatest football players of all time of all smoked weed. And you know, and it's helped them, you know. So it's just we got to educate people being that's the key is is educating, and then we got to continue to tell our stories. You know, what I mean, we have to explain to people why we used it. This is what it did for us. I mean, you know, being an athlete. It's a crazy schedule 'specially being you know, football basketball, when how much travel in the city believe in addicted parents here straight on parented addicted. I mean, my parents were you know, my dad was a drug dealer. My parents were drug addicts. So I seen it all. And I knew that's why I never fucked with the coq another other should because it's in my blood to love it. You know, what it means? That's why we're at fourteen. I remember my dad was crazy, man. Well, it's a big deal us athletes, and you know, whoever can come out and tell the true story about how this plan is positively helped them I think it's important. You know, I think that's what you know. This space is missing just the educational factor. I think there's so many old stereotypes about what this is supposed to do or what this does. But in actuality, there's been you know, in you know, athletes are looked at it as cream of the crop. In radical years has been several guys that have successfully, you know, been athletes and smokers. And you haven't missed a beat and it'd been better for it. No doubt. I will usually is my guy wolf and those guys that new you hammer and all these guys from Howard. And but I was a kid. I was a fucking twelve. And you know, Mike knows what it was like, but I wasn't involved in. I was a kid. That's what I want to say. How did you get out because Vinnie way out the dangerous person doing? The fact that little kids would be get accustomed yet in gunshots. Like, they're not. King. And so, and then I remember when you started when I started hearing your name Brownsville, Mike Tyson from Brownsville kid dynamite in Sports Illustrated in the senior on ESPN like, you know, there's so much people that came from Brownsville from the ballplayers world be free to Pearl to Jimmy Smith. So Otis Otis Wilson of the bears and this little little fucking neighborhood. And and for me being around that at that time, I was exposed to so much shit. It was all psychological, and you did have them be. And you weren't talk. Talking about Bruce Seldon in that fight. It was just a generalization. How you approached every fight? Le'Veon Bell doesn't report to Steelers and can't play this season

"Expires. That's part of the CBA. It's been part of the CBA for twenty five years. But the Steelers are the ones who. Initiated this process. They blocked Levy on bell from going to the open market and getting maximum compensation for his abilities last year. He chose to stay away from the off season program training camp preseason and people were upset and the Steelers were calling out. How dare you not show? Look he didn't have to the rules that the Steelers initiated allowed him to stay away until right before the start of the season make his full twelve point one million dollars and not show up for anything before week one. And he did it and he got vilified for it. Now this year the Steelers do it again, they restrict him once again from going to the open market. So it's his prerogative to not show up for off season training camp preseason regular season. And Chris I don't think he went into the regular season intending to skip the whole year. I think initially it was well, let's see how they do with James Connor. And maybe if they struggle they'll offer me more than eight hundred fifty five thousand a week, and then that didn't happen. So there goes that. And then I think he was gonna show up around. Seven during the bye. And then there was talk about trading. And so I'm not gonna show up then. And I think as we got closer to the end of the line that Tuesday after week ten everyone became aware of it come next year the Steelers if they franchise tag him again, they're gonna have to use that quarterback tender, right? And I think that's when bowel realized you know, what I'm gonna make it to the open market. Whether I play or not I'm just not gonna play. I'm going to give up an extra six million to ensure that I can finally after two years of waiting. He can finally go to the open market and go to the highest bidder. And that that's that's American at its core in a capitalist society. We should be applauding the efforts of any wanted to try to position themselves to get the most money possible. That's what makes our entire way of life revolve. The idea that we're all going to go out there. We're gonna try to capitalize on every situation we can business and professional makes most as much money as we can. That's the American way. But yet on bell does it and we get upset with him. But. Steelers are the ones who have kept him for making the most money. He can he's merely reacting to the moves the Steelers have made to prevent him from getting paid the way. He should that's right. And really, I mean, it's the only profession in the world that this goes on it really is. I think that's the big thing too. I mean, we talked about it a little in the first year and to a point you made in the first hour with all the good points. You just made explaining that. You know, if if love EON bell was still deciding whether he wanted to come back within the last ten days the final nail in the coffin was Dez Bryant tearing his achilles. Tendon in practice that you brought that up in the first hour. And I think that's another great point. You know, we just sit there and think, oh, he, you know. Yeah. You think about this the football game? Well, no practices physically demanding as well. So and stupid things can happen in practice. I've seen guys tear their achilles and tear their ACL's in practice. No contact or a guy tripping and falling on the guy's knee. So, you know, all those things have to be taken into account, the only negative and you told them. Remember, remember, Brandon Marshall story right of half freaked out. He was when you were playing with him in Denver. They hadn't gotten his contract yet. And he's still had regular season games to play being that's going to be. If bell had showed up that would have been his life for the rest of the year because you can't shut that down about you can say, you're not thinking about it. Right. You're thinking about you're thinking about it. And usually when you're thinking about stuff like that. Then you're not playing to your full total capabilities, and aggressiveness, and it's usually the guys that lack aggressiveness that ended up getting hurt in the NFL and those type of place. But yeah, Brandon Marshall I'll still remember we're in Philadelphia in the locker room the Broncos had promised him they would reopen and give him a new contract that didn't happen. I think it was week fifteen we're going into Philadelphia. We're in the we're in the bathroom looking ourselves in the mirror before we go out. And he's kinda yelling at them. Like, you are right. And he goes I just can't play like this. I can't play like this. I know I'm so close to you know, finally, breaking the Bank and making all this money for the future betterment of. Mm and his family, and so many things and it's hard to let it loose. When that's in the back of your mind. So yes, there you have to give a guy like Le vian, some compassion and a sport and football at the running back -sition. There are no guaranteed contracts. And he's just using the tools that he sees necessary to benefit himself. And the other thing too is the only thing I say is negative here. Mike, this is the only negative for really levian bell. Is that he loses one year in his prime. That's the only thing I can look at you know, you only have so many years of being that top shelf type football player. And he was that. And he just loses one year. I doesn't matter in the long run. But I'm just saying that's the only thing I would bring up yet. Yeah. But here's the thing. And I understand how the aging process works that applies to everyone in the NFL except Tom Brady. You look at it this way. You kind of doing an advance on your retirement like like, we don't know how long he would have played if he had played this year. But you could make the argument that his career will last as many total years is it would have if there's going to be one more tacked onto the end then would have been right now because he's he's avoiding the wear and tear, and I think for running backs it's more about wear and tear than aging, right? Because you really don't start to lose a step until you're on the wrong side of thirty five. And I think physically the body is still going to be in a position where it can withstand the pounding at that age if it hasn't taken the pounding earlier, and we're seeing guys like Frank Gordon Adrian Peterson get it done deep into the thirties. I think that that for a running back giving up a year now could ultimately lead to adding a year later, but we'll never be able to disprove or prove because we won't know how long would have played if he hadn't sat this year out. We put up a poll question before the show. Do you support labor on Bell's decision to skip twenty eighteen right now fifty three percent? No forty seven percent. Yeah. It was fifty fifty right away. And and I'm surprised there are as many who say, yes. Because I thought the knee jerk reaction for most fans would be he's in the wrong. Why would he choose not to play football? He doesn't love football. He doesn't love his teammates. He doesn't love America. He doesn't love God. I mean, that's where some of these arguments. Go it's ridiculous. How these arguments quickly spin out of control. I'm glad to see forty seven percent of the people out there understand how it should be interpreted. And how we should be reacting to a guy who's making a business decision based upon what he thinks is right for him. Yeah. It's actually an encouraging number. That's why I looked at I expected it to be like sixty five thirty five, and you know, people not supporting his decision. I really did. But you know, hopefully, we are us to included are educating people about this process, and that it is a business and every player has to approach the NFL as their own singular entity as you yourself are the business here, and hey, I could speak to it. Myself, mike. I mean, I got I got tendered as my fourth year in the NFL. Right. I said, you know, what we went to the playoffs the year before I played really good. I could have asked for more money as a starting quarterback and football. But he said, you know, I said I'll I'll take one for the team and be good and be a good soldier to everybody else. Well, you know, what happened in week four? I lost my spleen that was never the same. And I never really got to capitalize the way I should have. So you know, it's all fine and dandy game. Plans are all great until you get punched in the mouth like Mike Tyson used to say, and those are the things that happen in football, which is of course, incredibly physical. So that's really the bottom line for bell. It's good.
