"Friday. Yes. Today. We're going to we're going to have our football picks. We're going to have a little Mike mcglinchey on. We actually have. I don't think it. Mike mcglinchey has ever had the ward little or any. In any form of that word attached to him? Probably ever. They're the words little Mike mcglinchey have never been set. Now that guy that Joe Staley was a home run first round pick for the forty Niners. Frank gore was a home run pick Patrick Willis was a homerun pick. Mike mcglinchey be here over a decade will be absolutely a homerun pick. Because that guy there's something with John Lynch when you say, hey, high school, captain two-time college captain legitimate against elite competition plug and play. And right now, pro football, focus Hasim is the best right? Tackle run blocking in the entire NFL and healed the Niner line when the wheel comes around and they're good again because at offensive line this year became a unit because I'm getting a little too geeky on some of the the pro football stats. Do you know that like Brita and Rahim most and stuff for thirty eighth and forty third in allusive nece just. Imagine if jerk McKinnon and not his is. And the reason I bring up I imagine elusiveness ranking is is there a whole and how much do you get out of it nine or running backs? Get two and a half yards two and a half yards. Sorry before anyone touch. It's a Friday, man. You're going there already. Good nights. Yes. To get to work with this guy. Two and a half yards before anyone touches. Yes. And on a team that has the quarterbacking. Once Garoppolo went down is better problem. That old line is still continued to be a factor. It's been the most consistent unit for the Niners all year long. And what does it have to do with talent? Yes. Health. Yeah. They've been healthy elf cohesion, you know, it's it's the one unit that I can think of that has not had is it the big unit. It's the one part of the night football team. It has not suffered a catastrophic long-term injury. You know, you had rich Bergische word out for that one game against Arizona and what happened backup center. Snaps the ball over of quarterbacks hit, and you end up not having your chance to win in losing game, obviously. But no, the Niners offensive line has been steady. And we've talked about this. We'll continue to talk about it up until the game on Monday. If the Niners have any designs of winning two in a row and streaking in the win column. The offensive line is going to have to do the exact same job. Maybe even better. Against the giants. Then didn't against the raiders. And we know how good they were them. You take anything from the warrior game other than just what I said during the face off that any question, and this is more of a sports talk radio bar discussion type deal. But any question is to the most valuable player on the team is is no longer in doubt. It has been Draymond green for years. We'll continue to be dream on green until proven. Otherwise, we saw that last night. It was another situation where the opponent for the Golden State Warriors gave max efforts. And what was a bit disconcerting is that there was some push from the Milwaukee Bucks in the warriors didn't push back. Maybe it was because they didn't have dream on. Maybe it's because as Steve Kerr said that, you know, the warriors were focused or things of that nature. I give Milwaukee a lot of credit. That's what you have to. You saw eighteen give the warriors their best shot and because of their ridiculous talent. Level and their ridiculous athleticism. They were able to do would most teams have not been able to for the past couple of years, which has pushed the water warriors for all four quarters. And I was just looking back on games. The warriors have played this season. And obviously, the vast majority of them they've won with the exception of the bulls and the wizards. Every team they played this year in in games that they've won. There was a quarter where they were either equal or better than the warriors point point of view. So again every opponent the warriors are seen this year. They've given him the best their best. But because of talent differences that can only take you so far. There might be an experienced difference between the walkie in the warriors. As far as talent difference in terms of playing today's game not much. Well, when you look at their lot of six seventy year, vets I'm a walkie to and they've played some good basketball and buttonholes Holzer's a really good coach. So. Playoff experience and going deep in the playoffs. But as far as going out there and ball and offense and defensively Milwaukee last defensively, they're excellent thumbs up and they knew without. Having Draymond in there that if they could lure K D or Steph into what one on one or one then Milwaukee just shifted to three guys there. And that's where you're Jordan bell on your Damian Jones show. They're just they're not ready yet Milwaukee got that pretty much immediately in the game. They got the warriors going one on one and it being stagnant offensively in the ball sticking once. They got that. I think they knew they were feeling pretty good. Yeah. And also too I think Milwaukee played well, then Steve's frustration with the focus in the fouling early free. Throws her nineteen to four against you. You're feeling sorry for yourself a little bigger a little distracted ama- walkies. Good. And they kind of put it on you. And so, you know, there there's no like, you know, what we did the the raider and Niner game like how much had to do with the raiders how much I do the Niners. Ninety percent of that was just Milwaukee beating them like there was no there was no of the warriors did this or that. Steph Acadia were eleven to twenty nine Milwaukee on the game. They were better they deserve to one hundred one shots last night. You got up trip? Eighty points in the only shot nine to thirty five from behind the money last so now days so for tomorrow, no staff, no dream on. No, Shaun Livingston against him. We saw this Brooklyn claim a couple of weeks ago. They put up three. Yeah. So, but but the MRI on Steph stuff. Nobody's like their people feeling. Okay. So, but I can just tell by your bounciness when you came in today that Curry's out for three months, I can read you. I can read your pretty good. I can read you very well. CNN's into Kumho up close and personal fit gets to his right hand. It's over. It's over guy covers fifteen feet with one dribble. Yeah. I mean, he is so long, and so strong, and you know, what? Because each had seven sixteen. There were times looney didn't do a bad job autumn. And he still was was amazing. He is he's got one foot in the world of unguarded -able. He makes himself guard -able when he shoots if he gets outside. I was just about to say if he gets a job is over with me. He's going to be the guy where you just gonna have to say he's going to get his we gotta worry about everybody else. He's twenty three he's twenty three. So now, they have that Milwaukee balk. He's going to be be pretty good. But today, I mean, I I did time we'd get into college football. We get in the NFL. If you have thoughts on the warriors holiday two-way can't be are. It's a Friday too. Which is always a lot of fun and hopefully people doing right, fire wise man to smoke all throughout the bay area's big smoky, obviously. Unfortunately, because of the world we live in true tragedy happening when you say thoughts and prayers, unfortunately rings hollow. And and you think about the senseless tragedy down in Thousand Oaks, but true thoughts and prayers to other folks near Chico and China paradise which is wiped out as we know here in the bay area, especially in the north bay dealing with with wildfire is just a very scary scary thing so thoughts prayers and much love going up to to those people dealing..

"And here now is our conversation with the brand new forty Niner and giant of a man Staley was talking about often tackle Mike mcglinchey. You are going to be starting here playing right, tackle understand user migrating eventually left tackle, probably serve planets with whatever they say I need to do. So here's the thing we always hear, like, obviously, you're, you know, first round draft pick so there, nobody's trying to bury you, but we do hear the stories about how veterans who are trying to, you know, theoretically, make welcome young guys at their positions sometimes aren't as welcoming. As I may be. I know that you've been getting a, you know, good advice and welcome from Joe Staley. I'm just curious like what your expectations were and so on that front, I really didn't know what to expect because I've heard a lot of different things. I came from an old line room that was completely the opposite of that. We at Notre Dame. We always helped out everyone that came into the room, no matter what age you were. You were always, you know, welcome to the part of the family. And fortunately here in San Francisco. Oh, I've had the same experience thus far. I mean, it's a an awesome group that we have, and there hasn't been anybody that's making you feel like crap or anybody that's making you pay your dues too hard other than you know a couple of jokes here and there, but no, it's it's been an awesome experience with all the vets all the guys that we have in our room, and everybody's just trying to do the same job and that's the rookie hazing anymore. Nothing that I was not serious. I mean, we're only we're only in day to practice so wave. I, I'm assuming I'm waiting 'til training camp iced have my guard up a little bit. So yeah, even in two weeks, I still have a little bit of a guard up to see what's coming. You're tall about six to eight and you weighing what? Three, ten, something like that. And what's? What's your optimal weight? Is that many right there? What's your, what's your shirt? Is it? Yeah, it's a West Point. Family friend of ours plays basketball there. I see. They had a, I think they miss bought a two XL. I was guided, they knew him for it. You come from a big family, four brothers, one sister, something like that. Yeah, four brothers wants this from the oldest to six. Okay. Are they athletes? Yeah, nothing. I don't know. We'll see. They're all younger than me. So I don't know if anybody's gonna make the NFL, but yet they're, they're definitely play their sports. So how many games have you missed due to injury in the last ever years? Never. I've never missed the game. Yeah, there's always a recent unless there was like a family obligation when I was like I was second grade, but I can't remember that so, but since you play football, presumably been a little bit injured. You know, what are some of the things you've played through a sprained left ankle stomach flu broken hand. You know, couple Knicks every other wear. So nothing. Nothing major was broken hand. Something that most Saint people would have not played with or depends on how much you love football guess. Yeah. Can you explain, especially for people who don't care know anything about football at all? Like what's your job? My job is to open up running lanes and keep people off Jimmy Garoppolo. So that's all I can. I'm just I just kind of get in the way is really what my job is. So the paradox era, I guess the maybe it's not a paradox. It's the hard thing to come across someone your size who's also fast and coordinated and a good athlete. So there aren't that many of you to start with, but then there are a lot of people your size and speed who don't make it. So what is it you think that is the difference between people who are physically capable and who are gifted with the size, but who don't have the capability to play at your level in college now in the NFL? Oh, I think it's, it's all mental. I think. I think it's about how much you want it, how much you love it and how much you're willing to sacrifice for it. I was never the best athletes on my team. I was I've, I'm still not the best athletes on my on my team here, but I've always wanted it more..

"The national anthem at the Super Bowl is performed by Garth Brooks, perhaps the world's most famous Oklahoma. Fact check mostly true, but that also see that connection there. While so he saw him and got fixated that guy, I'm Oklahoma well, no wrong. He was McVeigh was part of the mind control program, and his trigger was to see somebody from Oklahoma that would set him on a crash course. Yes. So now this writer is going into the mind of to McVay during the Super Bowl. The beginning of the game would have pleased him. The pill stifled, the Cowboys opening drive, blocked their subsequent punt and scored a touchdown. They stuff the Cowboys second possession to finally, everything in Super Bowl is going Buffalo's way. McVay had always been a dramatic TV watcher yelling, cursing, and throwing objects objects at the screen. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, when things went wrong and at this point he must practically have been doing backflips then suddenly everything fell apart, two bills me too careless, throw the Cowboys intercepted. It returned to thirteen yard scored. Moments later, the bills fumbled you know what? Everything happens at halftime. Timothy McVeigh had to sit there and wait pondering his increasingly long odds. Well, Michael Jackson saying we are the world with thirty five hundred children. That's kind of as weird. Yeah, back on that it's going to. The second half was if anything worse more interceptions more fumbles in another super first Twenty-one answered points in the fourth quarter, so it keeps going on and it says just four weeks after the disastrous buff Super Bowl loss McVay found in latched onto the cause that would define the rest of his life, a group citizens in Waco, Texas religious cult called the Branch Davidians. So you got that and the bills loss of Super Bowl, Jim Kelly weeks later responsible for a lot of blood on American soil, and then the best part about this whole article. This guy does this whole thing where he's like sitting in Timothy Timothy mcveighs mind watching the Super Bowl and saying like, this is what happened. This could be, you know, like the Buffalo Bills led Timothy McVeigh and then he ends it with or he gets in there saying, I am not saying that Tim McVeigh bombed Oklahoma City in nineteen ninety-five because the Buffalo Bills lost four Super Bowls in a row. But I'm not saying he didn't either such a claim would be absurd. Erred, human motives are incalculably complex, but that buffalo heartbreak was one of the many shadows to fill cross McVeigh's life between his unstable childhood and his perpetration of mass murder in Oklahoma City cheese. You know what? All this could have been cured. If he just had a few folding table so he can jump through. Yeah, if that was a thing back in nineteen ninety two, then boom, he gets all his aggression out and his destructive side just goes through table and he's fine. We're not in this mess. We're what? Where does, how does this take come out? Like how do you wake up one day? Like you know what hasn't been said, how the bills being shitty and Super Bowls created Timothy McVeigh. Well, this goes back to my longstanding belief that every time somebody is arrested for violent crime, they should say what sports team they're fan. Yes, yes, which is a genius idea and that way we can tie in all sorts of things that are there torture full sumptuous. Like if if like a patriot fans were to be rescued, be like, what's that guy's problem? Yeah, he's going pretty well exactly. Come onto. Fans, you know what? Let him off got a lot to deal with the real punishment would be having to watch the Browns every year. There's a lot of crime in New York City and the jet suck. Yeah, and the Rangers suck and Ray Lewis, Nixon in Ray Lewis, stop crime in Baltimore. That's true. When when they won the Super Bowl Chicago's got some crime to not any more workers, Cleal MacIntosh. Turn of the MAC. Yeah. Realis- stopping crime in Baltimore because then he say that was crime when the ravens were playing it because he was on the field. Right? Yeah, exactly. Oh man. Okay. So yeah, that was Monday readings. Credit us again. Not not saying we're bragging. Let's two in a row. I had a pretty good, Rick rally joke on Twitter, do do you want me to do an audible version of police? Okay. For the Timothy McVeigh. Buffalo Bills. Hey, why? What happened between the two of those?.

"No, I have a sister named Mary Jane. Yeah, of course. You do Catherine. No. Any super pale Catherine's now Indiana that caught your eye? No, I can't say I did it. We, you were all the girls that dated though in college, listen more. Our shout out your number sixty nine. So list also how many of them you sixty nine no, actually shot the Caitlin Coleman. Jalen my girlfriend not talking about Kaelin right now, but we're talking about your college. So So you you say. say. Yeah, absolutely. You came in here ready to go. Your name's Mike mcglinchey and you were an offensive guard at Notre Dame tackle tackle off into Lyman at Notre Dame. Yeah, got feet like guard garden offense. When you were born was out like a situation with doctor. You see like babies born in Louisiana, the way sixteen pounds, and they give you scholarship LSU you born there like, hey, this guy is going to be off it's alive and at at Notre Dame. That's a pretty good mix. Shot to my dad, my grandpa from my last name, the Irish Catholic faith tradition, and then just kind of wrote the tales to south bend. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Mike, Mike, Glenn, she, that is the football guys name. Thank you. All right. That's the last of Michael. Showing up. Thanks, Joe, you twelve years. You have been through everything with the forty Niners like forty five coats. How many were you're gonna play? First of all, forty, five more forty, five more. I don't know. I actually have no idea. Do you feel? I'm not going to get serious answer. Okay. I think then they'll probably like homey to that. Right. But do you feel it? Do you feel are training training camps your, you're that weird spot where you've been in the NFL long enough that as you get older training camps, get easier there, like millennials are ruining training. I feel like I'm one of those guys to kinda like those old guys get like real bitter, and you guys have it so easy now you don't even remember what real training camp was back in my day. We used to go to times day patch, crack, stole, drill. And now. Yeah, it's not like that. I mean, we have a cake scheduler. Yeah, don't tell Kyle. No. And recorded also played for like murderers row, football, guys, guys, let's go. Terry, single Terry, Mike Nolan might go on? Yes, sue the suit on reginal suit, Harto move. Would you rate guy? Awesome. Awesome. Turn practice. I think he might have busted out for a walk through just to kind of get the sense of it through for him to think about the problem with you can't make as may jokes because he did it for his dad, and I think his dad pass away. So it's like come on man, like we wanna make fun of this like. Yeah, it's kind of selfish him when you really think about it. Yeah, look good with it. It wasn't like he was like, you know, big three hundred pound guy trying to rocket suit and he inject real. Yeah, inject techs, pretty Jack, Jack, Jack. All right. So Mike Nolan, Mike, single, Terry, single Terry, right? Like he wiped his ass in front of you guys. He did not. Yeah, he halftime speech. I pretty spirited just showed you poopie ass. He didn't clean. No, there was a there was unaware on. Okay. So disappointing Kiwi, edit that part out because I don't know that was Vernon, Vernon Davis game. The Davis game was first game official head coach. Interesting. So he was setting the tone or what is the Vernon Davis key sent Vernon Vern and got a personal foul and Mike, the third quarter, every second quarter of the game, and it was he liked just barely grazed the guy's face mask out a personal foul came over on the sideline, and then single Terry decide going locker room. We don't want to. You're not you're not one of us, and then he had the quote after a press conference. He's like, I won't winners yet. I can't do it. Can't. We can't play with them. I want people that want to win and they tight ends. Two thousand decade smart. Was that look. The all that sentence call off. Six years. Looks like it..

"We're talking about right, the light chess, pure shit, the uncut stuff. Yeah. So he's he sure this guy's not Dan Campbell, son kid. I fucking love him. So he's full guy the week. Nominee number one. Number two is lane kiffin who got the shit kicked out of him in in Norman, Oklahoma. And then the next day someone on Twitter tried to chirp him and ask them how church was and put a scoreboard like a screen shot of the of the score. And he said, church was great way more important, sir. Drums, sir. Have a great day. Hopefully you figure it out which praying for you? Yes, which is a failed plus your heart? Yeah. If you know a football guy, the only thing that they, they care about more than football is God, but but not really. But when it's convenient, yes, I'm doing the math. Maybe that's why Linkin kept getting fired in the NFL because he didn't let play on Sunday that's day, but rather play on Saturday. This is a sneaky like perfect football guy answer because the God football priority enter. Changeability is such a great thing for football guy to have because when the football is going bad, you can just be like, well, guess what guys God is number one and when the footballs go into good football over everything. Yeah. Well, football is got, yes, that is. That's what it is in their minds, but you're right. It's like a Bilton. Excuse, right. You're just constantly can switch the big JIMBO that that happened at FAU. No. So they sent out a text to all their alumni or their donors, whatever right after the game saying, FAU just went into Norman and defeated number seven, Oklahoma, like, here's where you can donate more money to the football program that actually could probably have gotten a few donation probably food a few p one. Not, yeah. Okay. Next up we have Tom, Herman coach, Texas, PFC. You have the quote, right? Yeah. So he he addressed the media after the game, and actually everybody that watched that saw the exact same result as last year Maryland. They were wrong because it was a much better result. Even though the lost again, he said this year's team. The reason we didn't play well, early in the game is because we. We wanted it so badly. So his mistake was he coaches guys up to go out there too hard all and so they kind of let they got. They played with too much emotion. Yeah, and too much passion meant too much too much. Whereas Maryland was not. They weren't playing with the motion or passion right after everything that they've been dealing with their either. So yeah, that's that was not Tom Herman's fault. He said the results in the two games may appear similar to the general public or fan? Yes, they're both losses. They felt much different than that to me. So yeah, so win, Texas. Is back I, I was telling Hank about the early, but Tom Herman's haircut it has meant it is something to see when it gets wet when you get sweaty. So he's in the stage where he's going bald, but he's not quite willing to accept it yet. And so what he's done is he grows his front row of hairs out like just a the very first hairs on his head. He grows them out about like three inches long. So it's it's bangs that start at the center of his head? Yes. When they get wet man, it is. It is a wispy site. So I, the first month of the season is. Tough for football because if you if you haven't been keeping those pecks tight and your hair. Nice, you're gonna get exposed wick. Yes, yeah. All right. In last we had have who is probably going to be on every week. It is Nick Sabin coach of Alabama's. You know, he had a classic Nick Sabin moment when Alba was up forty, four, seven. They had like the camera on him while the play was going on, and his team had a pick six fifty yard pick six, and he was just disgusted the whole time. He was mad that for some reason, like I think maybe the safety was out of position even though he picked the ball off, like he was so mad and just discu-. He looked like he wanted to spit on his team for getting another touchdown. Yeah, because you, it's turnover. You get a pick six. You don't get to control the clock at all right..

"You don't have any like you should be at a boathouse at least a few times just practicing. Yeah, right. You should be should be looking like like sexy God out there like and Joe bro had that nerd white pale face, but he can play. He can really play, and I saw I'm a believer. I think it's too going back to the fraud conversation. I don't. I don't think it's fair for us to put Miami on the fraud list just yet after one week. Okay. Let's put him on a watch list. Okay. We'll put them under SEC investigation for fraud. Yes, he got their ass kicked by southeast conference. So we on the fraud list right now, questionable Miami. I would say Texas has also questionably fraught. Okay, that's fair. That's fair. Other games, I mean, Alabama did their thing. We all knew that was going to happen, knows who the quarterback is going to be. They're both really, really good one scored all the touchdowns and the other that Cuyler Murray is incredible. He's electric like he was just running around for Oklahoma. I cannot believe that guy's going to play baseball. Like what the fuck are you doing. I can't wait to watch him hit two eighty. I might have. I might have a my bad situation. Okay. We might need to apologize to her words. Yeah, because because you say, let's give it a couple of well, okay, maybe I won't apologize Edwards yet, but they have an awesome wide receiver. They one really good player, so they're gonna be fun to watch no matter what. Like who knows what the fuck Herm Edwards is going to do at any given time. He's probably gonna realize, oh, we have one really good player. We're about team guess. So he's probably just going to take him out of the game plan altogether. Yes. Will Greer electric Holson best coach AA. Yes, this is West. Virginia was so much scientists also just one one, one to put a little circle on little tickle file. Kevin someone is he ruining Cleal Tate. That's going to be a fun story line to watch. Okay. Yeah. Wants to make them a passer known if he's like one of the most fun college football players to watch last year and then Arizona loss BYU. That's my favorite off-season storylines when they take in electric, usually quarterback with like a huge arm or a. Fast grandma and be like, we're gonna still west coast offense, right? This is going to work. We're going to. It's going to be exotic west coast will play strengthens like, no, it never works. It's college football run. The quarterback is faster than everyone else on the hill. That's why college football's in Saint. All right. Let's do speaking of college football, we have the return of football guy of the week if you are new listener every single week, we have nominees four nominees for football guy of the week. We put it up on my take. We have a poll when we after the vote, the winner, we sometimes usually hopefully with the help of AWOL's we can get the winner to give an announcement take exception there football week. Last year we had the Boise state dog. We had actually gave it an a an acceptance speech. We had the northwestern strength coach. We had all gas, no breaks the Purdue quarterback. I state kid that played Bosei yes. I say kids Golson the blind long snapper. So we're hoping that we can continue. Trend with your help. If you know anyone who wins football guy the week, and you can get them to give a simple acceptance speech, we'd love it. So without further ado, football guy, the week nominees are first up Torrey Carter LSU fullback who if you saw, he looks like PF t. pietas little more Jack novato bit. No fence, yeah. Well, he has full. I black and the story that they told how you describe the full? I black. It's like the guy from the program, yes. On steroids, not real steroids more intense version of that guy. So, and a raccoon. Actually? Yes. A little bit raccoon at Metallica concert. Well, funny you say that because the story is for when he showed up the first day at LSU he drove through the night from his home in Georgia to Baton Rouge, and they asked him how he made it through night. He said, red bull Metallica I love it. And this is like old school metallic. We're not talking about the blackout..

"Yes. And Cleal Mak who is a top three defensive player, and you know a game changer on the defensive side of the ball who then got paid the most money for any defender. Sorry, Aaron, Donald. He had that crown for one day. I think downs pissed off. I would be furious. Saying that it would be a little bit mad though. I would ask to just get one dollar more than clue. MAC, it's crazy because this is how the world works. Guess what guys next year someone will be the highest paid player yet, but I didn't go back to happen like a day later. I love those Schefter tweets where he's like, whoa, guys. Just in the last week, Aaron Rodgers, Aaron, Donald Khalil, Mack, this is insane. It's almost like every year the calf goes up and we keep paying guys shitload of money and inflation welcome to the new NFL. So the best part was the well. The best part is the bears are back, but best part was the raiders refusing to mention Khalil's Mack in the official tweet. They sent out there like we've made a trade for two first round thing. I think there's some screwed up about Jon Gruden strap value chart for him. Like, I don't think he likes draft picks. He certainly doesn't like first rounders like he's not a guy that wants to get a quarterback in the first round, doesn't like to pay people money. You remember what he didn't Tampa Bay. He just like collected guys. Were like handball players and six round picks he if it were up to Jon Gruden he would still have Jeff Garcia as quarterback right now. So he sees a first rounder and he's like, you know what? I just I'd rather not go through the hassle of having to deal with good players. Well, any also that word on the street is Mark Davis couldn't actually pay Khalil Mack, right? Does not have the money. There's a cash flow issue here. Shane's bills have gotten a little out of control. Should we have a go fund me for Mark Davis? I mean, it's we do just what we'll do. We'll do like a hair cutting marathon. Yeah, at sportclips where all the money goes to Mark Davis, so he can afford to pay the the note on his conversion van and he can afford to pay good players. I like, yeah, I actually think that Jon Gruden I think there's something wrong with his brain. I mean, yeah, there's, yeah, there's a lot of stuff wrong with. I think he's got advanced age syphilis. I'm just gonna put that. This is a very tough start for him. I liked it. He said that he called Khalil Mack, which is the second time he called him since he's been named raiders coach the first time being the day, he got named raiders coach and said, thank you for being a raider. MAC, I probably should have probably should have worked this out, but from the bears perspective to get serious for minute, it actually is like in a super exciting trade because the defense is now I would say top five defense, if every if everyone stays healthy, they have two studs. They have a guy who can actually get to the passer which has not happened in a very long time. Like actually watching the bears, maybe put some pressure on Aaron Rodgers going to be very exciting, but you're right. It is all on Mitch Trubisky now. No excuse. But do you not agree that this is like the way to do it because you have a quarterback on a rookie contract? It's like the Russell Wilson? Yeah. No, you're right. You go for it now agree. You're now let your when your quarterback gets has to get paid. That's when you have problem. I agree with what you're saying in theory, but I think you would wanna see like a little bit more from a quarterback before you say, okay, this is the guy that we're going to go for the window on. I, I'll say this though. Two first round picks Cleal MAC. Yeah, who gives a shit. He's one of the best fit right in the NFL. Right. You'd be. Lucky to get two guys that were half as good as clue, MAC, so it's I agree. It's a good trade. I, there's gotta be collusion or something weird going on because what the fuck are the raiders doing if you the fuck is no, it's great..

"Can't wait to watch tonight is Mike mcglinchey of the forty Niners Quinton Nelson of the colts via, you know, they're all players that are going to be really good. You know, hopefully really good pieces for them. People were saying, I can't wait to see Hayden Hearst for the second time around. Maybe he could be a sleeper tight end this year for the ravens, or I can't wait to see DJ more. Shark turns out to be the better DJ from this year's draft class of wide receivers for the same reason that we're talking about, it's it's, it's fantasy. It's vested interest in games, otherwise we're not be irrelevant to you, but would be I tell people that I have a list of I call remote stopping movies, right? It's movies that you know you're scanning through the guy and all of a sudden it's on your like, I'm not going any further. The fantasy football has created that for the NFL is that Thursday night, you're sort of flipping through the channels and all of a sudden you realize that, oh, I have Larry FitzGerald in my league, and the cardinals are playing, you know, the Rams this weekend and it'd be great to get off to a good start with maybe two touchdowns from fits. It's all about that end. I mean, I, I guess we commission this right? I mean, gambling is legalized, but people playing draftkings. Right? Like showdown format over it as a fan. What I mean? There are different ways you can go about the game, fantasy wise, and so there are all sorts of fancy implications with every game with every move that's made. And you always were thinking about how that impacts your fancy team and people ask me all the time who's your favorite team they refer. And I mean, say it my fancy teams are my favorite teams. I say the same thing. Adam is funny. I said, you know, it's my fantasy teams. I also own up to the fact that like by thanksgiving of each season, your energy can be impact that you're sitting there. You're like, you want your teams to win even more. And some were to ask me why fantasy is so important to me. It brings new life to each Sunday for us, and we are fortunate to be part of the war room each Sunday where we watch all of these games and now there you are. I played at the NFL level and would've sure we would've loved our experience to that, and it's not nearly the same thing, but my competitive juices rarely flow anymore..

"I think needs to be coached really hard and really well and when i say really hard i mean yell at him i just mean go you know the details the nuance techniques the fundamentals i think that's absolutely critical for him sure thoughts on mcglinchey i like mcglinchey a lot i think he's a really solid snap after snap player i think there's a comparison to me made between him and nate soldier who's had a really good nfl career they're both kind of high cut narrow and linear they're not wide bodies but i think mcglinchey what stands out is his fishing he does not have many bad snaps he plays with really consistent technique and execution so i think you know again people get into where he was drafted and all that it strikes me and i know others disagree with this but it strikes me that particularly when you're a lawyer team trying to get to a higher level that the goal of a draft is to come out of it with good players then make your team better so if they think mike mcglinchey is going to be a quality starting tackle then you take my mcglinchey i think he's and i we may have mentioned this before but i saw him speak at the combine when he was at the podium he is one of the most impressive kids because he's a kid i mean what's he twentyone give or take he was so impressive as a person that it just blew you away i would agree we had him.

"Really good move on their part and you know oakland probably had no other significant offer and i believe after oakland lost mike mcglinchey to the san francisco forty niners that it made any trade down attractive because they knew they wanted to tackle and they knew taking colton miller at number ten would be stupid so they get some benefit moving down to fifteen but it's not to me what the market said it should be with the packers did with those defensive backs guys who play right away the other aspect of what i found fascinating is that once we had the jason with news that maybe be was gonna go to monday night football now we're the cowboys going to pull the trigger on a tight end in the second round and when the eagles leapfrogged them to take the kid out of south dakota state i thought man that that one looks like it stunned the dallas cowboys was dallas taking dallas i don't know if they were not dan i think they obviously were in need of a tight end but i just don't know i think the irony is rich though that a quarterback tight end named dallas gets picked in dallas and not by the cowboys and and that's a position of great need for them no matter what whitten does i mean i assume like everybody else that jason witten is going do tv but it sure looks like the eagles pulled one off on the cowboys i have no idea i think because the only reason is because he still loves football and then you remember last year i did a story on him for for football night in america basically about what his routine was to get ready are to to heal on monday and and i was with them for seven hours on monday this guy in year fifteen has have the zeal of a rookie and he still really love football when we talked he talked about playing multiple years so i'm sure that it is an easy regardless of the fact that this is probably gonna be your next career i'm sure it's not easy to stop doing something that has a finite life anyway and and and.

"Number eight the chicago bears had that pick they take roquan smith who is a linebacker out of georgia and in my mind what i would say probably the best defensive player in this draft now bradley chubb is really good baroque lines myth is even better because roquan smith is a head hunter he's a ball hawk he is everything you want out of a linebacker he's the guy that can drop back in coverage he can spy on the quarterback quarterback if he has mobility can't break out of the pocket he's the guy who can bust up run game in the backfield this is a guy that's going to be very very very good player for the bears and he's prototypical bears i mean you think chicago bears linebacker bryan or lacquer a couple of years ago they they got a hold of john bostick from florida who is right into that category and now roquan smith who is you know again falls under that category of what you expect from a chicago bears linebacker he's a big physical monster who's going to be playing no there's no doubt why they call them monsters on the mid monsters of the midway because they are monsters on the defensive side of the ball and they have been in history for the chicago bears and it looks like chicago trying to get back to that and they again number eight pick in the draft tick roquan smith at linebacker on at number nine you haven't san francisco forty niners a mike mcglinchey who is an offense of tackle from notre dame again just trying to get guys that can protect the starting quarterback i whoever that's going to be is it going to be jimmy garoppolo we don't know you know we don't know moving forward you know the whole thing with the forty nine years is is there mystery right now they are a mystery right now there are several teams in the nfl who are.

"Pretty good sessile what they said so i think that makes it kind of a good pick and i just i loved clinton nelson and mike mcglinchey i think that just like joe staley and other guys guys will play with a broken face you know i'm i'm glad i bothered mcglinchey a little bit with you know they told him not to play the ball game you know it's and he told them to stick it and put a helmet on and went and played lsu and like i like that you know i i like that i just i think he's a tough philadelphia kid who's six eight three zero nine that knocked a lot of people's you know what in the dirt for thirty nine th street starts at a big time school and i'll take those guys grew well it wasn't a it wasn't what i expected i really thought they would have gone athlete on defense but once again i mean you know chub nelson in roquan went right in front of their all so there was no nobody you know that was impact and barkley wasn't there chop wasn't there i looked at the thing is five five all pro kind of players to choose from denzel ward saquon barkley bradley chubb quinton nelson roquan smith actually six and then derwin james so james was on the board but the safety need is it's not there i mean i think tart could province not nine there so i mean ultimately it's not a sexy move but the reality is is that if you're going to give a quarterback seventy four million dollars it doesn't make sense i mean you got a five alarm fire and your backyard as soon as you know this guy you know you're all of a sudden you're quarterbacks down even vested serious money in that and i think when you made that investment you're going to have to you know invest in protecting them a little bit and i think this is a rock song it's not a sexy pick but i think.

"Of getting that pressure up the middle of getting those impact defensive line aaron donald gerald mccoy dhamma consume those kinds of guys in it's now starting to put some emphasis on the interior part of the offensive line of course edge rusher still very much you need everybody wants an elite edge rusher but how seems like teams are starting to think about ways that you can get pressure up the middle and again so you look at the center guard combination and how important that is going to be for some teams as we watched the first round unfold agree with you wholeheartedly jeff again to offensive lineman have gone on quinton nelson the offense guard out of notre dame sixth pick in the draft to indianapolis and mike mcglinchey to san francisco the number nine overall select you to the first round of the offense of tackle notre dame now if you're the green bay packers let's talk a little bit more about their situation on the offense of line all just in case we've seen some surprises and you know we may see a surprise in two picks here when the packers around the clock but offense of tackle if you're thinking and again they've asked brian balogh to take a pay cut he has refused the from what we're told from what was reported by bob magana bob mcginn football longtime beat writer on the packers so if you're thinking offensive tackle you've got connor williams out there you got colton miller out there josh sprigs and brian bulava both coming off injuries questionable as well either one of them be ready for the start of training camp i think that sprigs has a better chance than below does of being ready and able to play at training camp to tackles out there connor williams out of texas the offense tackle colton millerton out of ucla early in the process jeff i heard from a lot of people that they thought colton miller might be the best tackled in the draft.

"The tooth it wasn't able to hit the very best because they had so many injuries at the quarterback position during their heyday which was just a couple of years ago i think they start to retool doron pain a big part of that good football player think they take him there at pick number fifteen sixteen the baltimore ravens they taken wax on the offensive side eventually they're going to hit this one seems to be a nice safe wide receiver pick maybe the other ones it might be a little bit too rich for my blood but there's going to be other first round wide receivers i still say calvin ridley is maybe the best most consistent out all those calvin ridley wide receiver alabama baltimore ravens next the los angeles chargers safe had problems on their offensive line i think that with the problems that they've had with injuries with barksdale and so on and so forth mike mcglinchey offensive lineman notre dame might be just the antidote that they need for the la chargers next the seattle seahawks back to back off fensive lineman isaiah win guard georgia they need an offensive lineman they get it next the dallas cowboys and so many people going to say linebacker this has jerry written all over it portland sutton wide receiver smu let stats decent wide receiver core some people are saying that this is an overrated wide receiver class or one of the worst they've ever seen there's not a lot of people are saying it's very very good so i think that you know it's it's the same thing of what we see with anything if they make any good decisions it's the sun if they make any bad to see bad decisions and it's on gera.
