"Sec Schools which is what you're looking for right. Yes how do you think that would play? And I bring this up because I've done this before. In my former life as a newspaper columnist it wouldn't play very well. Yeah I'm very well. The reason why I say I know because I lived through it but the difference between then and now as I was a newspaper columnist I was not a talk. Show host sitting here at the headquarters of the SEC network. But I know kennesaw. Have you ever considered going into this? Business I can't say that I have no because you asked me what I would call a very mean question. I like that I was a newspaper reporter. I always liked to ask questions that made my subject squirm and you have made me squirm. Okay so don't tell me the team that is the most relevant but tell me. Who would you add in this mystery team? Well I think that's probably the more Germane question. I think it's a fun question if you could add for every sec school that has been added since nineteen ninety and that we're talking about South Carolina Arkansas Texas A&M in Missouri. There is a reason why they've all been added. You may not like them. But there's a reason now. The question now becomes. It's not so much would you? Who would you add? Because I it's who who is who is. Who's the most likely school to be added? Because you may lie you may really like Notre Dame or you may really like Texas there. Neither one is coming to the SEC. So you then have to narrow. Who would be among the most likely I will answer that of the most likely schools to be added somewhere down the road? The most likely is the University of Oklahoma. Gotcha because in my mind. They're welcome to deny it. I can't wait for them to do so. Has indicated through channels over the years if they would consider the SEC. The problem now is you can't just add one school. You have to add to to make it equitable so If Oklahoma for instance was was was your choice number one who choice number to be. It wouldn't be Oklahoma state you'd be defeating the purpose. Do you really want to schools from Oklahoma to be in your league. The answer is no you do not so then. Where do you go? And what is realistic? I'll ask you. I gave you Oklahoma. Where would you go next? Oh now let's let's let's all do this for a living and you don't put you on this phone. I honestly to tell you where I would go but I can tell you who I would take out. Okay were you. You're welcome to do that. I'm well. I'm welcome to put my hands over my ears so I don't hear it I I mean I hate to say this but My inlaws might be mad at me but probably Arkansas But I'm not for sure our let me counter that Arkansas has has really added quite a bit both in basketball and football and baseball college series files. A couple years ago. They won track and field a million times Arkansas has a very good athletic department. They just happen to have a really bad Football Team Right now. Hey thanks for the call. We're up against a break. We have more to do so. Hurt will join us in a couple of minutes. We'll get the latest on Cat Balu or whatever. His first name is the new strength and conditioning coach at Alabama. Back with more. You're listening to the Paul Finebaum. Show podcast we are joined now by. She's so hurt. Who always has a great a great seat at at at controversies? That may not really be controversies. And that's the teeth gnashing for the last week over Scott Cochrane's departure see so always great to have you on a win. There has been a kerfuffle quite To disagree and your thoughts on how it got to this point. Good afternoon well. I think it's a continuation really of a narrative that started when Kirby left for Georgia which nobody grudge. Kirby moving up from a defensive coordinator to be the head coach at his all modern but they've had they've had series of of games. Sec Championship game. National Championship Games and That's added to the narrative. And you know Kirby is his. They've both been respectful in their public comments. But there's a recruiting rivalry on the field rivalry on an off the field rivalry and this is part of the part of. What's been the off the field rivalry where where I think? It's a good bit of it is public relations. That's not to say that Cochran didn't do a good job. He did a great job. Here wouldn't have been there as long as he was if he hadn't done a great job but he's in a different job at Georgia now and he's in a job that you can say what you want about how valuable he was certainly was in interacting with the players a lot but Nick Sabin WanNA put him on the field and let me stop you right there. So I've I've heard all this for a week now and I don't understand it And I want you to explain nick. Saban's got a lot of coaches have cycled in and out of that place and some even on the staff right now who you have to me. At least I don't know about. You have to seriously wonder what they're doing. They're so after all this experience. Experience With Kerr with not forget. Kirby's Margaret Scott Cochran. Why was Nick? Sabin so stubborn about putting a guy like Scott Cochran on the field well PLOP position. Do you put him at first. I guess you could say well. You know they made him a special teams coordinator. Georgie could have been a special teams coordinator at Alabama. He's never coached a position. Ever coached a special team and the United and assistant coach and part of a staff is different than the inner strength coach and strength coaches in charge of his particular area and his particular domain. But you know a assistant. Coach is in meetings and contributed to game plans and coaching position and responsible on Saturday for their XS and Os. And it's a different. It's a different role and for whatever reason and you know had had stock Cochran gone. I don't think that the Knicks hiring back from Georgia and he wanted to be on the field gone to Idaho say for a couple years and learn to position and I think. Nick would've welcomed him back. But Nick wasn't gonNA put him on the staff because he had. You can say what you want to about all the guys who make tired. And this guy's retread this guy was. They've all coached football before coach position before And he unheard any guys put on his staff. That either didn't have that or have the reputation along with that of being outstanding recruiters and everybody says Oh Scott will be a great recruiter and he may very well be great but he never recruited so. We'll see an blaming you because I talked to you but there there's a lot of narratives out there that Saving felt like it was time to to accelerate to two different generation. You're hearing science and technology and things which I assume we're part of Alabama's cutting edge programme every single day of the week and I realize it's not official yet. But what can you tell us about the reports of this new person coming in David? Blue and Dr Matt Ray from Indiana sort of a strengthened speed Pombo They've balloons the strength coach. They've been at Notre Dame before he was in. Indiana has gotten rave reviews. I'm sure that that Nick. Sabin is has checked him out with the NFL contacts. But he has. I'm not GonNa sit here and pretend that I watched well games of Indiana football this year and evaluated their strength and that they've improved. Their record is better. They're playing. They play Florida Bowl Game. This year is Indiana at the same level as Alabama Georgia. Lsu AUBURN NO WAY. So as you well know that. Indiana they did blow a lead in the fourth quarter. They did they did. Whether that's strength and conditioning you know so much. So much of that gets gets dumped on the strength and conditioning coach. It's not their responsibility just like it was not and and I've heard this narrative that Alabama's to get a lot of injuries last couple of years and that's conditioning that that wasn't Scott Conference fault. You know that's not. That's not correct so I I don't know exactly where you clay replay of Indiana. No the fourth quarter lead. You know just simply bring up. I mean you're you're praising Indiana I was just pointing out to the they blew a four zero lead to Tennessee like I say I'm crazy. I'm really in one of the craziest bowl games of the year I'm just I am praising him but I'm also making the point. It's not Alabama Auburn Georgia. Lsu Yeah SEC level competition. I don't think that's not a knock at the big ten. But it's IT'S INDIANA. Let's get to the bigger conversation here and thought about Scott Cocker getting a position on the field or or book type of technology. But this seems to be at least perceptively about between Kirby Smart Nick Sabin. And maybe more Kirby smart then Nick Sabin and this is a question that can be asked over and over again. And we know all the platitudes they give each other but you also know the inside. What's the relationship between these two guys? And how does this change that relationship? Well I think I think it changed the Dominican Turbie left. I think they're professionals. But I think Kirby with hired beat Alabama wants to beat Alabama wants to be that first assistant to be Nick Sabin and you know wants to establish Georgia a position that that Alabama and Lsu have had the last couple of years which is winning the national championship and you don't do that To quote the old time bomb program introductions do that with buddy-ball so you know that's recruiting is a is a tough hard nosed cutthroat business. Nick understands that makes been through it a lot. I'm sure Kirby understands it but They worked together a long time. And I'm sure that they have a certain mutual respect but right now they want to beat each other and I think That game in September in Tuscaloosa is the of of all the M we love the intersectional matchups in September and and how Stayton Oregon and games like that. But if I could only watch one game in September at the Alabama Georgia talking to she. She'll hurt she. Probably the toughest thing to try to figure out with someone like Nick. Sabin is the day because he doesn't know and And and you know better than all of us It's not something he thinks about but but but he has to be cognizant of the last two years which seem Mike Disasters because they didn't win a national championship. He also understand. The road ahead should Alabama and they had the team to win the National Championship in two thousand twenty. Do you think saving would step down? Hello no I think that would be. I think that's something he wants to do. Yeah I think he wants to establish that record and winning six National Championship at Alabama and seven overall which to see unprecedented Whether he's people as bad and and I always wonder when he does step down. What's he gonNa do is he gonNA. Is he going to go back to the NFL? GonNa go to the lake and fish. I don't I don't see that I don't really see him getting into the television industry full-time although I guess Tony. Romo changes that died. She does yes he does. He alters that equation to an extent. But Nick Is..

It was an unintentional the best now get. According STAN Van Gundy is the Golden State Warriors motto in the playoffs has been strengthened numbers. But in reality, it is Toronto getting contributions from a lot of people six raptors are averaging double figures scoring in the series. No team has had six players. Average double figures since the pistons in a losing effort in two thousand and five the lab. Team to have six guys average ten or more points and win the finals, the LA Lakers in nineteen eighty seven Golden State on the other hand has gotten half of their points from only two players, maybe they should change their motto to strength in the splash brothers pilot. Nailed it. Kevin Durant was being talked about Steph curry and Klay Thompson. We're being asked is he a splash brother does? He get company in the splash, brothers and the answer. Both from both of them was no. He doesn't get to be one of the splash brothers, but clay said it's because he's better than both of us at which. I would be down with if I weren't Steph curry because I don't have time like so, so Klay was saying, no, no, no, Kevin Durant. The only one among us who can rise up and get a shot on anyone who's ever played in league. He's the only one who can do that. So he's elevated a level beyond slash brother, but that was excellent. Stan, I salute you for how strong you've been today when you've cared to bring a opinions and information when I've cared to at the beginning of the show, you know, you struggle, there was who I don't know. She didn't have any opinion ready. It's all right. You weren't ready weren't prepped. But one of the things that you brought. And there's been a lot of strong opinions from STAN Van Gundy, he said he was surprised by Nick, nurses timeout, and made it intimate. It suggested that it might not have been what he would have done in that situation. But you never know. But you never know. And so it's a strong opinion and he also side swiped. Bob Myers is a good friend, who he respects with a thought that I hadn't heard before, which is hey, if we're going to do the blame thing, let's blame everybody and smear with the same brush, nobody gets to be blameless when the results are catastrophic and he also had the opinion that hoosiers was a what movie STAN, I thought it was one of the great sports movies, one of the great sports, movies of all time. So Monty Jones is with us the right time with Bomani Jones. New.

"Like, are you scared about is he? I'm like, no me. I'm about to freak. The fuck out gotta be some hormonal shifts with, like the sun going down and night, 'cause nighttime can feel so dusk, terrors. It's like no, the started like. Hairs? I'm like, yes, like oh, God waking up, especially in the in the beginning where like waking up every two hours and you're moves hurt and you're trying to, like, even it doesn't even have to be breastfeeding. I breastfed anti formula. Vetted. It doesn't matter. It's just like. Feeling alone. There was this picture that I saw that's going around way back when I still see it now pop up every now and again but it's like kinda solidarity in mom's waking up at night and it's like a picture, it's at nighttime. It's a mom holding a baby this little cartoon, kind of picture, and she's looking out of a window, and you could tell us night and it's just like all the stars in the sky, and I explained things like shit. But the pictures like like, here's the building, and there's like a window here here here in here and all the moms are like individually looking out the window, and it's like they all probably their perception, is they're looking out into the world and it's just dark and everyone's asleep, but them, but they don't realize that there's like a mom. Right. Below them. Hartman. Right. And it's different household. Yeah. Girl there were all awake. Yeah. But, but the but the perception in the feeling is like you're looking out the window into the world. That was like peacefully sleeping, and they're just getting their restorative rest, and you're just like. Tonight. Yeah. Like, oh my God. This is awful. And what is the TV the channels are? So the shows are so awful at nighttime like one of the main reasons that I got air conditioning in my house, one, we live in southern California, and it doesn't get that hot here, except for during the Santa Anna's. So my husband was like, we don't need air conditioning. We live on the coast. We've raised the white noise, I need the white noise, and I need to be able to close. All my windows at night, went Dan's gone. Yeah. Leave him open when he's at home. Dan's my safety net. Yes, there, I'm okay. Yeah. Mike, he'll take I'm like he'll take care of us. If some shit goes down. I'm he is Mike my security blanket when he's gone. I close and lock all the windows not house alarm set baseball bat, next to my bed, I have the shooting on. So I cannot if I hear any and our window is, like right at our into our front yard. You can hear everything I hear one noise. I'm like fuck that we're locked dash it. I'm like, once a panic room next. I. I would love it. If I had like a basement, that I could go down into and just lock everything up and Mike. Mike disaster strikes. I'm meeting like going down here with going there. Like every day, though. TNN. What are you doing? I'm like, I'm just really comfortable. It literally took me breaking down my husband. Like, I don't feel safe when you're not home. I need air conditioning. So I can lock everything. Yeah. And then he's like, yeah, okay. I get it. Now bad. My husband works from home, were always together. I have security systems inside the house outside the house, Dan is awesome. But if someone breaks into your house, my visualization as your it's going to be the one ten again. You. And Dan will be like those a did good. And you're like, yeah. Call nine one one. Oh, good job bay need. Do think we need to call my goal be behind you with a little acts? Like. Yeah. Like I think you tour the bad asses and Dan's like the chill. That's probably why I'm a little scared here. This be like, oh, I feel bad. Yeah. It'd be like you know what, sir you broke in, but we should sit down and talk about we couldn't negotiate are you hungry food? This is like my house has cameras in the front beside the back of floodlights all the perimeter of the house. I have like thirty of is closest neighbor like it, you guys are almost security 'cause, you know, each other, yes. Anyone coming into your neighborhood. It's like I have a Rottweiler. I have a now a puppy who's very loudly better alarm than the what Rottweiler. Oh, yeah, I have a bat. We're getting a gun, we got all sorts of stuff. And then there's my husband probably snoring. Like if somebody were to break, I wouldn't have a gun because I'd probably end up shooting myself, so. No. You don't citing something, you might suppose my husband's like you know, I'm trained like you. And I was like one, I don't want any guns in my house, ever, because I'm just, I'm not, you know, pro gun or anything. But, but I'm Mike care if I were in a situation where someone broken and I had to like load and point and shoot a gun. I would probably end up shooting myself in the foot or like yeah. Something like that. Yeah. Something bad ass nece that you don't have that she's the anxiety. But then I could fuck you up at us where I think you'd be like the crazy wild like spring it in your probably. If I may so very myself. Yeah. I, I like. It's turned backwards. I have a husband who turns into John wick, if somebody. I'm like you do that. I will hide in the corner with much as some of your attraction to him because I the safety net, I'm like, I, I the only time I think I could turn it onto, where I could turn into a total badass, if my child's in danger, and I feel like I would be like my eyes go, I wouldn't remember any of it, but it would go. That's your defense dude. Yeah. Deanna just for anything mild inconvenience is black. Dr Kelly who do not wanna meet. The sky knocks on the door. She's a. Girl scout cookies, I like a sign on my door to that's like no soliciting, get the fuck outta here and one day like the girl scout came by and. Knock on my door, and then I answered oh, girl scout cookies you can come in. It's like stranger danger when people onto my door, I have the front. Glad. So they can't see me. And I'm like who the fuck here? My husband is even looks at me knows I'm coming. She's like, okay, but the door I always look through my kitchen window Mike who the fuck. Okay. Oh, the other day, so we also have a door ring bell. You know, and so I will do I'll be up in my bedroom. And somebody will ring the doorbell and I'm like, first of all, who is showing up unannounced, like rude. And so then I'll pull it up on my phone. So I could stare at them silently. I won't because you can answer it. You know, you could be like hi. Sorry. I can't come to the door. I don't do that. I'll just stare into it. Yeah. I'll just stare. So Dan was downstairs with Mike. And somebody knocked on the door and I'm like this mother effort. He's going to answer the cat. Damn torn because he always does. And I tell him he's normal. Don't answer the door because somebody could be at the front door with a bat. They could hit you in the head running grabbed the dog grab Mike. And then I am up stairs. I can't make. Downstairs to, to defender. I need to be down. So the doorbell wrong, and I'm like this guy's gonna answer it. So I pulled it up to see the interaction and it was my neighbor and her daughter. And they were selling something, and Dan, go, I could cause I could hear the whole conversation and he goes. Oh yeah, thank you. That's something my, my wife would be like super interested, but she's not here right now. So I'll let her know. And then he that was it like that was the close of the conversation. And then I texted him, I'm like, how dare you pin this on me? Like tear, you what are you going to learn to not answer the door? He will answer the door for J normal people answer doors. You're acting like I don't answer my door. Now person. I answer it. Look that ASI I do. And like I said, Jehovah's Witness mistake of doing that once a week for like a month. You say you're Jewish how you get over. I'm sorry, I'm just like and they go. Oh, okay. And they walk away. Oh, I didn't know that because I don't answer my doors. And just on your little voice. I'm Jewish walkaway. I just peer through windows like a fucking freak. What does I? See, I don't care through the then they'll see. And I'm all Nope. I if somebody comes to my door and knocks or rings the doorbell I will get on the ground like I'm in the army, and like army crawl and reach up with my arm to like, lock the doors. Yes. And then my close all the blinds and turn out all the lights, and I'll look at my family like sh. Doc id? Who's at the door? Shut up eating no one gonna hear us. I think at one time grading paranoid children. By the way, I eat in and Mike are going to be like. The world is a terrifying played. No. She's going to be a ninja. I think your daughter, your daughter might eat it might get terrified, but your daughter's going to be like, she's going to be like, shut up, mom. Yeah, I'll fuck you up. I hope she's going to have more a Dan's energy, but my nice. That'd be nice. That would be. That happening. She's not going to dance energy is he said, when you for dinner, she's like, well, that mica. She's a go. Go. You always funding that person. Well, that Mike will Mike mica. She's a go go, go. Go go. She's like she's on the go. Mom always. Yeah. She don't let it. It'd be like, little sneaky, one like she's going to be like, hey, look. I'm so adorable. Don't fuck with that my eyes. Yeah. And then, like shake you in the side smart, you know, to make us and a couple of years. Good. Make it and the dancing. Ooh, look at our daughter. She knows how to it whittle. Or we should maybe take this away from her, but shadow box and talk about it. Dan? Put down. Yeah. Anyway, to CBD. It's way to calm in the house. All right. We digressed once again. Oh, oh, well in happens this I should make like a digression bell or something. You know what honestly I feel like we're pretty much on track. I listen to other podcast, I'm like three hours. What are they talking about? And then I'll listen to I'm like they literally did not get to the point until fifty seven minutes. Complained about one the other day, I like popular podcast, no names. "Coming up. Another essential behind the scenes craftsperson. The movement director who helped turn Rami Malik into, Freddie. Mercury. It's actually the invisible. What that was the most important to get. I remember him saying to me, oh, we going to do any of life eight, and I was sitting let Yoda going you doing Live Aid all the time the making of bohemian rhapsody that's next on studio. Three sixty. Studio three sixty. Full misfits them, but long together playing the other mice. Right at the back room. Pretty sure they don't belong. We belong to them. That's Rami Malik as Freddie Mercury in bohemian rhapsody, the movie about him and his band Queen in the seventies and eighties for that performance. Malik had the look the prophetic teeth that particular vocal affectation, but he also especially nailed, Freddie, mercury's moons. Now, you might think that this gesture that posture every twist or turn is the actors choice, but just like with wardrobe or makeup or the rest of it. Actors often have experts guiding what they do with their bodies somebody like poly Bennett, who's a movement director based in London. I know that Romney has said that I just spoke his language, which I think for him was an imagination hers is one of those little known, but essential show business jobs that make a character or particular scene. Look and sound believable. Sometimes movement can be something like wedding with an active that's playing with a disability or pregnancy will has to age as part of the narrative of the story, and sometimes it can be really invisible. So the movement that is invisible and buried in the actors. Ticha choices so fundamentally it's about empowering and liberating actors bodies in her decade or so as a choreographer and movement director Polly has spent most of the time working in the live theater in London. But for every medium, she says what she does is always based on study and observe -ation and inference, which is where she started with, Freddie. Mercury. I just love watching him. In interviews a love my job. But I hate talking to people like you. You lost cousin? I'm talking to. So. You probably got the best interview dogging door. And isn't it amazing? How he he? So always has a Cup in his hand. He's fiddling with a cigarette. All he's looking down. And the way that he tends his mouth his teeth is always down up rather than up and down. And when Romney said, why do you think he walks like that? I was like, well, I mean his band is coup Queen. So I don't know this is why he will like this. But I imagine, you know, he's endowing. He's embodying the word Queen. He's heightening. He's broadening. He's taking up space is someone that came to England at school wasn't really allowed any space because of his ethnicity and Wade come from. This is all the stuff that makes a person a person and for an acted that that's gold dust, which means that enact has something to play rather than a thing to do and co pay, but doesn't really know why it's happening. So you had seven or eight months. Before the movie went into production to to prepare. There must have been a ton of research for you to do a Mike goodness. Yeah. No of my what was actually going to images and then reading books about his life and firsthand experiences of people that have have spent time with him as well. As watching interview to describe your yourself is not always say, no, I'm just a musical prostitute. But here. The spacing organized. Okay. As disorganized, I know organized. That's an asshole question to ask anybody watching the consists. Of course, I could stop tracing repeated behavior in mannerisms that appearance sentence it, and and stopped thinking why they appear at certain times and trying to link them together, you know, Freddie, mercury's famous running across stage and punching the sky that's probably lot default cream press. But in finding out that he was a books at school, and he was a long distance runner. And he actually quite like, go f-, you learn those things and then you see them on stage. You see him run across the state. See him punch the sky you see him use his Hof, Mike disaster of golf club and sort of simulate hitting a ball with it interest. Then you do the extra thing you just. Go beyond that, slightly new and go. Why though sports, Freddie, spills this? There's another layer to undestanding him. Which is he does these solid tree sports? That tells us a alot about who he was and what he was trying to do things that you can win things that you can that require a lot of energy. So that made me think is movement. Coach, right. So he's pus in that has a low of stamina he's go force in his upper body hits things and he punches things. So that means that then the next step is to go to Romney guy. We're gonna delays of upper body work. So that you've got that same. We've got a similar as possible feeling would your up a bodies, Freddie did. And would you talk about a specific moments in the script and scenes just in terms of how he smokes how he stands how he gestures would would you work through each of those this bit of this. Gene is that how it works? I think my protests fundamentally was to lay the foundations of Freddie's movement Heritage's, I've cooled it said today in Romney's body. So that he will ways how vocabulary to us when we go to specific concerts, all you know, as you say storytelling moments. He's at the press conference in the film.

But getting back to your portfolio in the market. I am expecting the markets, particularly the S and P five hundred to finish the year. Let's say close to three thousand I think that by middle of next year. We could be close to thirty one hundred. And I think by the end of nineteen given this new tax reform, you could see mid thirty one hundreds on the S and P five hundred. That's a pretty good move. But again, it doesn't mean that you should have all of your stuff in the things. It's been in the last eight to ten years you need to make some changes. So get in front of this. Now, you can get help. And we are here to help you we'd like to help you, but you have to help yourself. So first and foremost, you need to find out if your portfolio is in the right place now through our on-track retirement review process, we meet people all the time that are just trying to be good stewards of their money. They just want to know if they're making the right decisions that their plan is on the right track. They don't want to suffer through another two thousand eight. Especially since retirement is just around the corner. That's because the smart millionaire next door knows that money is like a toddler. It's incapable of managing itself. You can't expect your money to grow and mature without real wealth management. There's a big difference between making money and managing money. And you got to ask yourself the question. What are you better at? I created this episode. Protect your assets to alert you to the fact that there is risk out there and a lot of you're taking a lot more of it. Then you even know I've given you some tools on how to find out if you can really tolerate that kind of risk. And if you need help understanding that then this is what you need to do with the massive tax changes that have happened this year, you need to get in front of this because it's complicated. In my office. We have a CPA we have three estate planning attorneys, and we have financial advisers who work as a team to help you get in.
