"Is forgetting, your phone charger twelve is paying bills like, I guess if you don't have the money, I see where that could be stressful because one of these student loan payments, your point is that how technology technologically sooner these they are number fourteen is your phone screen. Breaking like, these are the things that stress them out. And I it does. I mean, don't get me wrong. I'd be upset if I broke my screen, but I don't it wouldn't like stress me out and ruin life. Well, that sucks, you know, probably have a bad half an hour. And then I'd forget about it. 'cause it was in my pocket. But if you start your screen all day long. And so what was interesting to me is I I mean number twenty on. This was washing the dishes like how is that stressful. And so I just read it and thought, you know, what's whenever I watch all the videos headship on. Podcasts or when because I do the dishes and miles. Yeah. Not maytag. You know, she does. Well, hold on. I load the dishwasher at our house and unload, the dishwasher there she takes care of the laundry like seventy five percent of the time. It's kind of the trade off. But I kind of look forward to the dishes myself. All right. Yes. I dress free. It's, you know, thinking about it stick it in our kids, do so I don't I got out of that. Because now, it's the kids chores, but. I don't know. This this dovetails to me in this little kid be whenever they start doing. The dishes are eleven and nine year old do the dishes. So the nine year old sometimes need some coaching. But in general, they can load the dishwasher, they know it shouldn't have big chunks or whatever. And they do a fine job unloading unloading, the dishwasher at eleven and nine so, but this I think dovetails a little out of technology. But there is another article I saw that said basically were not quipping kids to for life. And when you look at number twenty washing dishes, number nineteen, what aware is stressing you out that's helicopter parent that is here. Use your phone here. You know, like, I don't want to deal with you. I don't want you to throw a fit. It's abdication of responsibility. I think and I don't say that to be harsh. But I mean, seriously, I just I don't know these this whole list of stuff. I just look at it and go sit isn't something registers for overly stressful on it. Day-to-day basis what McCain of his company from a cannabis company, and the funny thing was then they compared it to older generations, and it was like nuclear war, you know, the Cuban missile crisis. The degrade depression, you know, terrorist attacks all these other things, and then you hear you got millennial saying man, my wife, I might be slow. My my my wife just said, I need unload, the dishwasher might get in trouble here. Mike bizarre with us here of some other things we need to get into my. Yes. I got to going to the final four. Losing in the final four to Michigan state, just so you know, I'll put that up on Twitter here in a bit. But when I want to start with. Is. The story of j Leeson and Charles periods quite complicated. And has not always been the most healthy. I've been critical of the Senator in years past in legislatures pass thought he took roads that were not roads that were good for rural Texas in rural Texas future. It's never been personal it simply been policy and standing up for for place in the Senate that doesn't see much of a role for rural Texas most of the time. And I thought that to be Frank that he's cow failed to that. At times, the demise of rural, Texas, but. I'm going to stop right now. Intil you that there needs to be some praise of the Senator of Senator Charles Perry in his staffers listening right now, I'm sure are on high alert that I'm gonna turn this around into some sort of parody. I m not the Senator deserves praise. This was the Senator this was yesterday at the state Senate. It's a health and human services hearing in we have talked extensively on this program about the demise of rural hospitals, and he oh, how can you live in a place? If you don't have access to healthcare in a lot of the problem. Bottom line with rural hospitals is that there are Medicaid patients who are treated in the hospitals. Do not get. A good return on the care that patients received Medicaid patients received. They essentially weren't reimbursed for the cost of service in it tears away margins in very small margins in rural health care. And here's Charles Perry. And I'll let you hear him in his own words because it deserves to be heard. I again have been critical win I deserve when I think it deserved criticism. But I'm going to be fair. Am even going to praise Senator Perry right here in the center Perry. Charles Perry outta Lubbock for this. I'm gonna let you listen to a couple of minutes, maybe three or four minutes of testimony that he gave in a Bill that he's put up in the state Senate because it deserves to be heard. Here's Charles Perry. Going to bat for rural hospitals into a member. Sunk you up. Senate Bill seventy members we do a lot of things under the pink dome. When we're down here every two years and most of them are hopefully lob changing an important. I would suggest to you that Senate Bill one seventy is probably one of the most important bills that most people probably would not understand appreciate unless they deal with real hospital care twenty one year old hospitals closed, Texas. It's not January of two thousand thirteen twenty one despite a long-standing legislative intent that real hospitals be paid their cost or mere costs to treat Medicaid patients in recent years. We've drifted off so far off. That course that HHS see now estimates that rule hospital under payments to be well and excess of one hundred million dollars. A year are two hundred million dollars a biennium all five hundred million ninety three following a similar wave of real hospital closures the legislature, Placer rotter in the.

"You know, all of these bills and all of the other bills that are being filed on the legislature and their thousands already involve senators and house members in the best sense kind of trading with each other. Can you work with me on this? I need help on that you need help on this other thing, it's a collaborative enterprise. And you know, there are a lot of things where you know, Senator from El Paso might not care. What's going on in Morello Morello Senator might not care really about what's going on in Dallas? But their friend from one of those places is asking them for help. And there's a conversation that goes on all the time. That's kind of what you know. That's what they're doing on the floor. They're milling around talking to each other. You know, feeling each other out can I do this for you? I can't afford to do I can help you with this. I can't help you with that. That's kind of what happens when you introduce a bad relationship into that messes everything up, and it's not just that the Lieutenant governor and the Senator from Merill. Aren't getting along. It's that every other Senator when they're dealing with those two has to have this other fight in mind while they're talking about their business. So I would like to have Cal Seliger's vote on this Bill, but I have to wonder if I'm talking to Cal Seliger about it. And I'm negotiating my, someway, getting cross ways with the Lieutenant governor who's help I need on this other thing over here. It just complicates things. And is as things get more comp more complex as you go into a legislative session. Those kinds of sour relationships really begin to tell you know, a great example of this is what happened two years ago when Dan Patrick and house speaker Joe Straus than the speaker weren't getting along fouled a lot of deals that might not otherwise have been problematic. Ross Ramsey every Monday, Wednesday and Friday there Texas Tribune dot org. Pre she giving us e oh, Georgia vici-. You always so staffers. "Lots of unanswered questions. Gimme just sick in here. Mike. We've got to figure out what's going on. Now. Look at what we voted on constitutionally with regents just phone up with my thoughts from Ross Ramsey. My local councillors, I get up off the couch and think about things where does that put region gate now, the Ross Ramsey says the doubts the governor will name new appointments, and because those appointments to be confirmed by the Senate and the house at this point or confirmed by the Senate, I should say and a lot of movement in the Senate if you think that kill Celliers free agent, you wait until he has look at a Rick Francis. Reappointment there with the board regions tomorrow, the clock expires on appointments in Amman. You're standing is in. I'll look at this. And maybe right about it. Monitor standing is. If the governor is not named reappointment, then they serve out the duration of the next two years and in their done before the next legislature, which still bodes a problem for tech, many would think with Rick Francis. Who apparently fired Bob Duncan over the vet school for him? Still be in play there with the board regions really disappointing. But also, here's my other thing is that if he is not if he's not there. Rick Francis, then sewer unless he reappoints the other two s Peraza and then the chair the border regions allots to lots to mow lower there. And also certainly be tweeting about that later after the show. But that's when I'm walking away with here. Is we? In that portion with Ross Ramsey. That's really a wish I just I'm kinda glad I don't. I'm a kinda glad you here. Because I would just ask question myself like crazy man might glut. What's what's going on? So I went to a training today. A mentioned yesterday that I got my under the radar kind of went in and got my real estate exam passed it. And then went to some training today at the Lubbock realtors place there on fiftieth in Knoxville jeering WI fi I did use the WI fi and you're providing the credentials with bazaar solutions. Yeah. And that's what I thought. I hope nobody's goofing up because Mike's going to bust them, but are not be watching anything risk during all these session trainings when we're working on doing a cybersecurity training for a bunch of real estate agents as well through them. So we're just got to find the right date. That'll be good g lane in the big fish petty. He we try. Mike bizarre bizarre solution. So I started the program with into world scenarios, and how the internet could take us there. And that's reductionist of when I said in the beginning of the program, but of looking at a headline the other day people can call you FaceTime. And you don't answer it. But then they can still watch you FaceTime. Here you hear you. Yeah. They can oh on you. So what they've found apple says, we'll have a fix for this by the end of the week what they found is that if I FaceTime you and then bef- if you don't answer, but it while it's ringing. I can I swipe up or down, and I can add myself to that call it'll essentially self answer. And then I can hear everything that's going on on your phone, but you can also hear my son. So essentially just creates the connections that treats it as a group call and everybody gets added automatically cycle on you without your knowledge. Hold on. Does that go pass like the? The end of the ringing into the voicemail. And then forward is FaceTime doesn't go to voicemail. Wow. Right. So rings. Somebody can stay on the line with you for how long I think until you figured it out. They hung up. Well, it's the Russians dude. It could very well be it's the Russian. It's it's a big deal. And so if you imagine them Collin Collin a bunch of. Whole it. Start calling senators and whoever else see I'm sure they got all their cell phone numbers in their pockets in committee meetings. Do let's listen. Now, the the kicker is if your phones on vibrate, or whatever it will ring, and and do the things that it would normally do even if you have on silent at vibrate or whatever. So it it's got to be kind of an ignored phone. But if you set your phone to the side, I mean it'll happen with me in the office. I have my phone on silent from a meeting. I'll forget about it..

"Life. We have Mike bizarre bizarre solutions in studio as we do each week and talk about. Out technology, and how everything's going to hell might bazaar. We try not to get that far into. But you know. And get pretty rough it how you doing good, man. I wanted to real quick say to the I don't know if you saw the police departments Facebook post today, they got some guy that was trying to jump off the flyover on Mercer sharp to the loop. Yeah. Seven hours, they spent when the gauche eaters talking back off the ledge so toss out a thanks and a good job to the Lubbock police department than gauche eaters, that's pretty serious hours. That's a longtime is like through the middle of the night. And so it was I know I thought it was interesting there their post was basically apologizing that it was closed on like, I think that's a legitimate reason to close the roads you can get somebody to for seven hours visit completely closed. That's what they said because he was on the fly over up at the top. He was going to jump off of their I guess that was his plan, but they talked him off the legend. He didn't. So I got a food story to we can interject when they hear your foods story. So it's not like horrible or crazy disgusting, but the whole. On. Let's get this one. And then we'll get him with yours. Hey, welcome in other side of Texas. Thank you. You gotta food story for us sort of. I've got a story about Dr Pepper. That's okay. Okay. So this goes back to years that I my girlfriend at the time somehow married me my wife now, but. I thought this is going to different direction, but go ahead. Yeah. So do kinda real conscious. When we first started dating because I wouldn't eat or drink after her, and she took that sort of a personal insult and didn't understand that. I don't eat or drink after anybody. No, though, scaring off your plate. No, no. I don't drink out anybody. I don't eat off of anybody food or four nothing. This is Kyle yet. Okay. So Kali heating, even the save his life. He's not eating up your food your plate or your utensils. And he's not sharing his stuff either. No, no, probably not. So few months in she's over at my house and drinking a can of Dr Pepper and my dog walks over to me. And I thought it'd be funny to give him some Dr Pepper. And so the dog said back give them a little Dr Pepper, and he looked off the can. And it didn't bother me. Then I take a wig of the canned Dr Pepper and. Staring at me, the whole time just baffled. If y drink after a dog, but not a human being especially one that. I'm dating. By marrying. Yeah. So yes, he was pretty off foot by like, I said, it didn't didn't bother me. But that's probably at least, according to her the grossest food or drink story that I have I like funny, mud dog eats his own turds and doubt your wife does. So. Yeah. Think it's probably safer entering after her than a dog of what's the psychiatrist had say about all this. I don't go to that guy. Bristow? No telling what they would say. Okay. All right. So a drink after your dog, but not your wife. So you know after danger for years and now being married to cave from time to time, and we'll try something leading drink. Let me ask you this call is she walked in and she took the gallon. The mill held it up to her lips on a Saturday morning and took a big swig. Would you still take milk out of that container? You're the weirdest food Yate it somebody else's house will be asking our guests that as we roll along on the show the latest for you. We try to break the news in ways that others don't. But we break it just for you from. Austin? Just the season where the house in the Senate is they begin the legislature begin to put out their base budgets now. These are not finalized budgets are still budgets require a lot of ins and outs and horse trading. But based budget, usually means these will stay fix things within the budget, the house budget this morning seventeen million three hundred and fifty thousand dollars to Texas Tech's proposed large animal veterinarian school Awada hyphenation. What I just said. That's good news for a lot of tech supporters vet school believers that you've got that kind of support on the house side. That's the good news because whenever you go to the higher education coordinating board, you need your asked to be fully funded. The bad news is. In this will not understand because Dan Patrick in a lot of other statewide 's. Got reelected right here in this part of Texas from which we're broadcasting Amarillo down the Midland over to Abilene up to Lubbock. The Senate only appropriates four point one seven million dollars towards the bet school which sets up a situation in which you've got about a thirteen million thirteen million dollar disparity between the two that's gotta be somehow reconciled throughout the legislature. How that happens? I'm not quite sure. In the context of a legislative battle were billions are going towards Harvey seven billion dollars on the house side going into public education three point five billion dollars into teacher raises on the Senate side. But you've got this thirteen million dollar incongruity in that's enough space four. That God down in college station to operate in. I think you know, who I mean that John Sharp down in Austin in take a thirteen million dollar discrepancy and do with it what he will do in the in the. So we're just. The jury's out. "Com. The saga cliff Kingsbury continues to evolve there's on the cardinals are interviewing the sought after assistant on this week for their vacant head coach position, according to NFL network insider, Ian Rappaport who tweets there is on. The cardinals are interviewing former Texas Tech coach in USC offense coordinator, cliff Kingsbury for their job and done the New York Jets had also expressed interest in Kingsbury as a head coaching candidate Rappaport. Added that gang green interviewed the coach on the jets gang. Green interviewed the coach on Monday USC Abed name gangrene USC hard Kingsbury as its offense coordinator in early December. He still employed at the school Rappaport reported there per team official, and that was a lot of the who raw earlier this week was that Kingsbury would have to resign in order to take. These other interviews kings vary spent apparently, he's not Kingsbury spent the two thousand eighteen season at Texas Tech. But he was fired after five and seven season Kingsbury, then accepted the position at USC. The former air raid Slinger served as offensive coordinator at texting during the height of Johnny Manziel mania before taking the post at Texas Tech. He went thirty five and forty and six seasons at his almo- mater. So I think some weird levellers correlations between Kingsbury. In Aurore, not just in their physical appearance, but they are new generation leaders in. It's it's quite something to see those two stories side by side, especially if you're in west Texas to go from to go from tech to the pros is not been something that we've seen before. But could very well be the case kings vary in light of the Mahomes intrigue in the in the pros could become somebody who puts out more Mahomes in Kingsbury even said. It was if he had had Mahomes for one more year, he would not have been fired from Texas Tech. But this is a little, you know, I've had some things in the past couple of weeks have shook up, and and I just whenever there's crisis. There's always opportunity, and it's in those crises, and how we respond to them that that, you know, not only is legacy made a statement made about us. But it makes the medal of who we are in. You know, my hat's off to Kingsbury that you know, as soon as that news came down. "But it's forty and that, you know, the begins to I've gotten them in the past from Amazon that it was like you just bought a three hundred dollar book like a kindle ebook way. Overpriced that makes you want to react to it. So again, don't click the links in it, go go log into Amazon opened the Amazon app on your phone. Whatever you've got. And then go look your order history. Not there through your apps on on apple yet. Go through your ads or don't go. Joe echo long Email. Yeah. Never used. The links in the Email. All I did was said here's the number two apple care column in that works, and they press delete the Email. It's a bogus thing. Yeah. They did. They told her in the end it was, but I think a lot of people in this probably aged him. Oh that they dig into there. And and and this goes back to like all the dark web stuff, we talk about right? I mean, some of this is just a shotgun approach, right? Literally costs them tiny tiny amounts of any money to send out all these mass yet your dark web checked by Mike bazaar, coach my need to. Yeah. Least a month. I'm on it. So I was kind of trying to avoid entry. Void it posted. A an article on our Facebook page today on the bizarre solutions Facebook page, just a two and a half minute video, but it was a security researcher fooling around on the dark web. So if you want to go see what a dark web marketplace looks like go finer Facebook page watch the video it's really anti-climactic. It looks kinda like Amazon movie called dark web seems like there should be. It's part of Reckitt. Ralph opening. Ralph breaks the internet boiler do that seen it. You my kids come on. Let me that's just part of the movie. My kids went and watch N lead riff on this for a second get it. We must have spent three hundred dollars on movies over the internet. I mean over the holidays he have got on the dark web prime bought those for cheaper. Story or or gone to the videotape rental store in Abernathy, Texas and spent like twelve dollars it. Also, the gas station earn was okay it was next to jolly Roger Burnett. Of course. It's not there anymore. There's like one blockbuster left in America in Alaska. Okay. What we'll go watch this one. Yeah, it's crazy how much movies cost anymore. But here's a I think is good because we have Cinemark USA Cinemark seen their movie club, it flawed constantly the movies, but it's like nine bucks a month, and you get one free movie and it rolls over. So if you don't use it it just rolls of the next month. So as long as you watch a couple movies year actually pay for itself, and then you get twenty percents off while your concessions. So Father's Day shea in the boys got me, your why my wife introduce you got me a movie pass. It's from the company called movie pass it out of the gate was great. I went to any movie I wanted to you check in. They put the movie on a car, you swipe the card pays for your movie. And they're like, oh crap. We're going broke. I guess he didn't they shut it all down for and then I could like go see the movies. Nobody wanted to go. See those were the only ones I could go see really. And so I was like I'm not using anymore. And so. My wife's cancel it. I was like. Okay. Well, now, that's like you can go see three a month. Oh, yeah. Which to me, I'm I that's better than nothing. But I'm thinking about the Cinemark deal because there's other perks to that as well and session discounts and Cinemark is here. I I'm sure if you didn't have a Cinemark nearby ABI worthless. But yeah, for sure. Yeah. So we got Mike bizarre bizarre solutions. Coach PO join us here..

The neighbor is the one who helps CNN covered a story that went down in Floyd county, east of Lubbock and a been remiss in mentioning it. "Com and give me a hard time for anything that was just blatantly false sore heretical on what is about to go down on the big program here in just a moment. We'll have our friend Mike bizarre on bizarre solutions people wondering about paper ballots versus the machines. How can the machines be hacked to Mike bizarre knows all things tech. You'll get in with us then coming up towards halfway through the program. Bob Garrett of the Dallas Morning News will check in. I've. I've talked with insiders throughout the day on what's going down in state races. What's going down in Aurora versus crews or crews versus roar? Cow. Everyone. Look at it. Lots of insiders saying. Gonna come down to Dallas county. Bob Garrett, douse morning news. With the latest here in about half an hour. And then Dorothy Kennedy of the Lubbock county. Elections office will jump on with us talk about the turnout today in Lubbock county how total turn out. Compares with previous elections. We can say this Texas election source is a group that I trust. They are projecting an eight point three million turnout, which would be about half a million less than the presidential cycle of two thousand sixteen but it would be three point six million more record breaking turnout compared to fourteen gubernatorial off year election. Now that would put turnout measured as percent of registered voters. Casting ballots at fifty two point five percent, which only compares to a selling beer and liquor in the city limits in Lubbock or gubernatorial election in Texas and nineteen seventy Lubbock drink wet and talk dry for about eighty years. We'll see what happens that all brings about. Unexpected turn out. The story courts today is cruise versus Aurore in what's going to happen in that race. Here's some news that I can bring you based upon conversations that we've had with folks on the other side of Texas down in Austin. We can break some news to you to help shake the evening and. What we have reduced his. A lot of Republican numbers have been based on. Greg Abbott's campaign. The Abbott campaign course, two thousand fourteen he comes he comes in as governor. But Dave Carney, his political strategist and the rest of his campaign never stopped campaigning after that point, and they continued to build what are called models implemental circles. Now, these models are the in built in rented or sold to other political to other GOP campaigns. Maybe some democratic campaigns. I'm not sure, but buying large Republican campaigns. Now, I'm told by some of the finest in the state that his numbers are flawed which could set up for a very interesting evening. Let me let me walk you through this. Abbas models have typical breakdown of strong voters of likely voters in less than likely voters in abbots model that a lot of other campaigns have just bought into. When checked by political pros what they find is that eight and ten maybe only is the word that you would throw in there. Only eight and ten are four Abbott all the way eight out of ten and that's the strong Abbott voter the likely Abbott voter is at around sixty sixty five percent. Now how that comes to bear on the US Senate race is this. Rourke in cruise when a likely Abbott voter is asked. Will you vote for Ted Cruz or a Rourke? It's a split a fifty fifty split. So these consultants, of course, think that people been raw knocking on the wrong doors being operating under a faulty assumption. Whether or not that's true will find out as we broadcast at about five. Oh, eight central standard time is numbers. Start coming in about seven o'clock exit polls start rolling in about that time. But that is that's a big deal to has a lot of people on edge. I know for a fact the packs and people are on edge the Qin Paxton for Torney general that Dan Patrick. Who I hope to be the soon to be former Lieutenant governor has his people on edge. Because as those numbers bear out that puts Abbott at about twelve to fifteen points ahead of do, you know, his political opponent his campaign? Opponents name lots of people don't her name's loopy vow. Does that puts him up about fifteen against loopy vow Dez and the thinking is that Patrick could be running about ten points behind Patrick so uncomfortable now as we look at bear county, which is San Antonio..
