"Well, everybody now has been saying, oh, he had a really bad August. No, he's had a really bad 12 years. But the difference is he now has an opponent that's shining a light on it. That's that's the difference. Obviously, it has been a particularly bad. But but like you said, there's been a pattern for 12 years of this type of incompetence. Welcome to another Financial Guys podcast with Mike Haeflich and Mike Speraza. Today, we are extremely pleased to welcome Republican challenger to Mark Polenkars for Erie County Executive Chrissy Casilio live and in studio. Chrissy, welcome and thank you so much for being here today. Thank you for having me. I feel a little odd that I'm the only one here not named Mike. Yeah, well, that's a problem in our office. There's a lot of problems between Lomas Haeflich, Mike Shaver, Mike Zimmer. We dominate the office. There's a lot of Mike. Yeah, that's right. And we're sorry if you get whiplash because you feel like you're watching a tennis match here today because you're sort of sandwiched between the two of us. That's OK. So so I knew of your last name, at least just from a lot of the business that your family has done. But can you just tell our audience, our listeners a little bit about yourself? Because I think some might feel like me, like, geez, Chrissy Casilio. OK, let me start Googling and let me just Google the Casilio name. Yeah, of course, you find things on a very highly successful business that you've had based out of clearance. Right. Yes. Yeah. So tell us about yourself. So I'm actually not involved with the family business. I decided to do my own thing. I have my degree in journalism. I thought I was going to be the next Oprah Winfrey. And although maybe not her, maybe she's not a good example. Yeah, she's she's she's getting canceled right now. I don't know. Pre -cancel Oprah. OK, I got it. I have my degree in journalism and I thought I was going to make a career in that. I had worked with WBEN and very quickly I learned where the money actually is, and that was in marketing and PR. So I had the opportunity to switch over. And within my first year of working in marketing at the radio group, I very quickly realized that this was my thing. Fast forward, I have owned Casilio Communications for 10 years. It is a marketing communication agency where clients hire my firm to manage everything for them. All of their marketing, all their communications, internal communications, external communications. We do it all. I'm very proud that the business is 10 years old. I've been doing this for 15 years. And so my business is actually one of the reasons that opened my eyes to everything that was going on. And I'll tell you why. Do I need to tell you about my family or do we skip that over? It's up to you. They're probably really nice people. I mean, I don't want to dismiss them and ignore them. I didn't want to get too far without acknowledging that I'm married to my high school sweetheart. He is a pharmacist. He is a saint. And I have three small kids and they're all excited. What's nice is that they're young enough that they don't really know what's going on. They just know that they think that mommy's a superhero. Lots of excitement. The parades, I'm going to have to do parades no matter what for the rest of my life, for the kids. So I have three small kids. I have a wonderful husband. That aside, my business, one of my clients is a nursing home group. And this is what really was the catalyst in opening my eyes to how things were being run in this community. And I'll tell you why. I have been with them my entire career, before, during and after COVID, and I knew the numbers from what I do because I'm on the communications team, on the PR team. We work together as a team. There's a handful of us. And when Andrew Cuomo had that nursing home order, it was like the grim reaper went through the facilities. And they say, once you see it, you can't unsee it. And when that happened, besides it being tragic enough in itself, I saw Mark Poloncarz and Dr. Bernstein, who I call Dr. Overtime, I saw them do absolutely nothing about that. And I felt like I was going insane because I knew they knew the numbers. I knew that they knew what was going on. And then I knew that they were doing absolutely nothing. And what was astounding to me, I mean, you don't have to be the director of health to know the type of care in nursing homes. It is the most intimate type of care that you will ever, I mean, you're getting your teeth brushed, you're getting dressed. These residents aren't even getting out of bed unless somebody is physically lifting them out of bed. And you're getting help in bathroom situations, right? You're getting hugs and compassion and love. I mean, these people are angels. And so then for some reason, at some point, it got, besides the horrible idea from Andrew Cuomo and the state people, then we had our own Erie County leaders, quote unquote, fail us. And then what bothered me even more than that. So I'll give you then a number of examples. So besides the fact that we were giving them the numbers and I saw they were doing absolutely nothing about it. But, you know, so Poloncar has had his daily COVID briefings and, you know, he'd yell and scold and talk to us like we were children. And he must have gotten some sort of rush being in that type of position. A lot of them did, including the former governor. It definitely went to their head. But I remember this one time that, and I'm going to be careful protecting my client, but I remember this one time he was doing his press conference and he was talking about that there was an outbreak in one of the south towns and he started scolding them. And he was threatening to shut down schools and, you know, putting curfews in place. And I don't even know what at the time it was like, we're going to go and level C, three, four, like blah, blah, blah. And I remember looking at the numbers that he was putting on the screen and I remember the numbers that we had submitted to the county and all but maybe one or two was from that facility, from the facility. That facility was having an outbreak at that time. And he never shared that information. He didn't have to name the facility, but there's a different story, completely different story. If you are giving numbers that there's a case and saying, hey, we might have to get ages your 85 up and they're all at this one facility, but you're going to close on your schools and close on mine, it would have told a completely different story. And he would have been more transparent of what was going on. But here's what I it's funny, some of the stuff you said, because Mike and I just did a morning show and we said the same thing like, are we missing something? Where is the data that we're supposed to be seeing that would change our minds? Because I just haven't seen it yet. Still, it's been three years. I still don't have any data yet that tells me, Mike, shutting down schools was a great choice. Mike, shutting down the economy was a great choice. Mike, you know, doing whatever was a great choice. The only choice that was actually should have been made was the one they didn't make, which was nursing homes. That was the one they should have made. Don't put sick people back in nursing homes. They did that. Remember, though, at the same time, they told us that we killed grandma because we didn't get vaccinated or we don't wear masks. I do want to go to Mark Poloncarz because I think he's a house of cards, obviously. But Mark, Mark has had a lot of opinions on a lot of issues. And for the most part, he's been wrong. Right. And one thing Mark doesn't do, Chrissy, is say I made a mistake. I was wrong ever, ever. I've never heard him say that once. I my one question before we get into his job performance is if you're in that position, let's say, and you may if you're the Erie County executive, you're a governor, you're whatever and you make a mistake. Are you one that would sit there and say to yourself, you know what, I'm going to go to the podium and I'm going to admit my wrongs and I'm going to work on it and get better at what I made the mistake on, because that's what we have to do. I have to call clients all the time and say, I am sorry. I told you I just did it last Friday. I told you a number and it was a different number based on this factor. And I had to man up to that and own that. That's what people have to do in business and life and relationships. Is that something you're willing to do? Have you ever made a mistake? You have to. You have to. Because similar to me, and this is where my business experience comes in. I'm in the same boat as you. Now, I very rarely make mistakes with my clients. I don't know. I would agree. I agree. But you do. But the times that I have I'm I'm my success is based on job performance, not the single mistakes. It's the overall pictures of are my clients satisfied with my performance? And what's amazing to me is how for some reason that doesn't apply in government. Ever. You can mess up time and time again. You can never take accountability. You can never own anything, but you'll get reelected. It's astounding to me. But if I were to do have if the performance of Mark Polancar was happening in a private sector, he would have been fired 11 years and six months ago or his business would have closed or his business would have closed because because people would have been like, no, you you're not good at this job. But that's the sad thing is that money, money speaks. You know, it's tough with incumbents. You're definitely in a position where you have influence and your head gets bigger and bigger and your confidence gets bigger and bigger. And then what happens is that you're no longer serving the people. You're just serving the. What do I want to say? I feel like themselves, like they're serving themselves in their little inner circle, like I think they're so afraid they're going to let their their friends, their family down at the expense of of all of us. Right. The people that they're really supposed to be caring about. Well, I will say what I have found, particularly with Polancars and again to my earlier statement, once you see it, you can't unsee it. And decisions are being made for climbing the political ladder. Decisions are being made to appease Albany, appease the federal government so that he can feel good about going and saying, I have a good relationship with Albany. I have a good relationship with the federal government, but completely ignoring the fact that that relationship is actually causing this community more harm than good. Right. Right. And now, I mean, just let's bring it up to basically today, we are now hearing reports, 52 people that were housed in a cheek to our hotel are now being relocated to an Amherst hotel because of a broken sprinkler system. The reporting and again, we're not there to tell you this is right or wrong, but the reporting is that illegal immigrants were hanging clothes lines off of sprinkler systems. And now you've basically turned that hotel into a mess. It's uninhabitable. Correct. Right. So nobody can even be in that hotel now because they have to make repairs. It's not a place that any human being can actually even be in. So now they're going to relocate these people to Amherst. Before that, Republic Steel is going to leave 178 people now seeking jobs. We heard Mark on a Friday afternoon try to justify the what they called the blizzard of 2022 after action review by basically, again, not apologizing and not saying he'd have done anything differently, but by saying, you know, you know, there are some things that have gone wrong of late. But how about this and how about that? And how about you give me a break, essentially? Right. You forget. That report was bizarre. It wasn't actually a report. It was just a pile of papers that have been sitting on his desk for seven months that he just then made public as if that was supposed to mean anything. But like you said, there was no reflection of, OK, from this report, this is our next step. This is our action. There's nothing. I mean, yes, he has said things here and there, you know, but at the end of the day, you had 12 years to do even half the ideas that you were thinking of and you didn't. You got caught being incompetent again and you're just trying to brush it under the carpet. Forty seven people died, right. Forty seven people. That's double what what happened in the blizzard of seventy seven. I was like nine years old. The blizzard of seventy seven had twenty three people die. This was double. And you knew days before that this massive storm was coming from the west days before. And he waits and waits until Christmas Eve. And then he shuts things down. Then he says, oh, we have to shut things down. But by the way, we can't even get emergency vehicles out. So guess what? You're on your own, folks. Like that's essentially what happened. And like I was going to say that to the deaths are tragic enough and sad enough of what happened that day. But then you add into the fact that he told emergency personnel, including police officers, by the way, nobody will be patrolling the streets. That was a legitimate thing that he talked about during this whole thing. Nobody will be patrolling the streets. They're not going to go out. OK, then you have businesses in Buffalo, one of which is a client of mine, get looted and there's food getting stolen. There's anything getting stolen from you. You can't have it both ways, right? You can't say we're going to shut the city down. We're going to shut the counties down. Oh, and then we're also not going to have anybody around to help if somebody's sick or injured or if somebody's business is open or business is able to be looted. And that's what happened. And he took no responsibility for that either. That to me is just as bad as anything, because you essentially told people, we're not here to help you at all. There's another important factor, too. It seems like people are forgetting about November 2014 when we lost, I think it was 14 people then. How many storms are we going to go through where people are stranded, having to spend the night on the Thruway where people are dying? I mean, this this is western New York. It's it's like Florida being caught off guard if there's a hurricane. It's so bizarre. How is there not an action plan in place that's just just like Florida? I mean, you go down there, you see the signs for the hurricane routes. They have the protocols of this. People know what to do. How is it that we just don't have because systems like that need to be in place so that we don't have politicians like Mark Poloncarz putting commerce over the safety of the people. Right. And the systems are there and then you need someone to say we're activating the system. It's like we are now using this this emergency plan. The task force is now out and ready and helping. And but you don't have a guy like him. He slept through the night when he should have probably the day before, maybe even by 10 o 'clock that previous night said we are now shutting the Thruway. We need everyone off the Thruway while they can get off. I mean, I get so fired up over that. I get fired up over the nursing homes, the assisted living. My mom was in assisted living at the time that all happened. And I thought to myself, great, if you want to have people wear masks, hazmat suits, for God's sake, in nursing homes and assisted living, I'm all for that. The little paper masks are probably not even close to being enough in those places for those very, very vulnerable people. And Mike, real quick, I'll say that not even just for covid, for anything. Right. I mean, like those people, if they got a basic flu or a stomach flu or something, they could they could pass away. Sadly, like their their their immune systems are so compromised at that age when they're in there. Like, if you're serious about covid, then be serious about covid. That's my problem with all these people. If you're going to get serious, get serious. If not, don't waste our time with it. Right. And I'm sorry, all I was going to say is I mean, this all seems to culminate into an idea of patterns of behavior, patterns of horrible, horrible job performance behavior. And yet he's still sitting there in office and he still gets a pass by his supporters. I just I just wanted to add to because, again, I was in the thick of it. You had you had your mother, you said that I had 19 facilities across New York State where I'm overseeing the communications of it. I'm I'm receiving the messages of the website of people talking to their parents, of people dying. I saw firsthand the people dying. I saw the messages coming in. Mom, we can't see you. We love you. But the thing that also, you know, I can't speak for the rest of the state. I kind of can. But if you look at Erie County, we had the convention center empty. We had our schools, our universities closed down. We had surgery centers not operating. It's not like we needed to put them in nursing homes. And you think it have the spine and the leadership to say we're not putting them in nursing homes. We have these other options. But it was just this blind like whatever comes from Albany. That's what we're doing. And that's continuing to happen. It's funny because the Buffalo, well, everybody now has been saying, oh, he had a really bad August. No, he's had a really bad 12 years. But the difference is he now has an opponent that's shining a light on it. That's that's the difference. Obviously, it has been a particularly bad. But but like you said, there's been a pattern for 12 years of this type of incompetence. Yeah, here's what I'd say, because I'm going to get into the the second part of Mark Poloncarz himself personally and his attitude and his personal issues. I think you say 12 years, Kristine, I agree he's been here for 12 years and he's been doing certain things for 12 years. But realistically, you only have to look at about the last year, the last eight months to get a picture of who Mark Poloncarz is. And is this who you want as your leader? Right. And we're going to look at here we go again back in January and that's now coming to light. We have we have numerous issues with Mark Poloncarz and, you know, assault. We have been threatening to shoot a process server. Now we have a relationship issue. Look, I've been you said high school sweetheart. I've been married to my high school sweetheart now for five years. I've been together with her for 14. I have never once even as a college and high school kid told her she couldn't leave somewhere. She didn't want to go or or screamed at her outside my home. Yes. Do we argue with our spouses? Of course we do. The last thing I do when I argue with my spouse, I was getting her face. I'm usually like 20 feet away being, you know, we're going back for nothing ever like what they said. That's what rational normal people don't do what he just did this week. And they brush it off like it's OK. Yeah. Like my husband and I, maybe we're the weird ones. We don't even say the F word to each other because you have we set up these boundaries because you have this level of respect and love for each other. And there's no reason to if you're really that mad, you know. Take a break, work it through. It's bizarre. And what's interesting is that since becoming a candidate, it's amazing how one once story comes out, suddenly more people feel comfortable coming forward. And the story is now starting to pour in, not necessarily about the personal matter, but just his overall demeanor of now everybody's coming up to me. Yeah. He's been a bully forever. Yeah. That's his personality. He has a hot head. This and then the stories. I was at a restaurant. He did this. I was here and he did that. Like it's a pattern of behavior. You have to have a certain type of personality. Yeah. Some type of anger issue to be treating people that way. No doubt. And I'll say this, Mike, you and I, you know, have people that we work closely with this office. You do not want a leader that's like that getting angry or upset about things. I have no problem with that. Being irrational and almost crazy is a problem to me. Right. Like, again, I would I if Mike Lomas, I'm going to use Mike Lomas as one of the founders of the firm. If I saw him and his wife yelling and screaming at each other and report came out and said, Mike Lomas cornered his wife in the home, of course, we would have a conversation with Michael. We'd be like, what's going on here? No doubt. Mike Lomas doesn't do that. Why? Because he's a rational, normal person that understands how to live day by day. Right. Same thing with Glenn. Mike, same thing with you. That's that doesn't happen to normal people. It doesn't matter if you're Republican or Democrat. That should not happen. And that is a crazy thing. When you think about that guy's running a whole county. Yeah. Well, and again, the pattern of behavior. And yes, that's a domestic issue. And we talked about shooting the process server. But look at how he lashed out at Hannah Buehler from Channel 7. Look at how he got all angry with Byron Brown. The head on to where we began about Stefan. The headlines of that storm very quickly turned to that spat and how he treated Byron Brown. Name any natural disaster in all of the world where the story was. Look at these elected leaders bickering. And that was such a time to shine as the city. Good neighbors. It was a time for them to say, hey, they did the storm. But look at look at how they came together. And instead it was this pissing match between it. How embarrassing. I will say Byron Brown didn't really even I feel like go back. He was just like, whatever. I thought he actually handled it well. He did. Yeah. I give him a lot of credit for that. Yeah. If anything, I mean, you'd say to each other, you know what? We'll do this later. Like right now, this is what we have to do. We have to figure this out. We have to save people's lives. We've got to put that other stuff aside for now. But to your point, Chrissy, you know, when you you see someone behave this way, like if I witnessed someone be that way at first, I'm thinking it's like a one off bad moment just happened to me. But when you start hearing story upon story, to your point, yeah, it is a behavior. The other thing is when you get to the point where you are doing that, you are chasing someone down to get your cell phone back. You might allegedly got physical to get your phone back and then people are screaming around you. To me, that's a sign, that's evidence that you don't have the capacity to sit back, be patient and be thoughtful and actually figure out a better way. And that goes back to job performance, but also personal behavior. If you are flipping out, the first thing you do is flip out and then you're seeking forgiveness for that. That's a problem. And that's Mark Poloncarz. And if people continue to think, heck, 12 years of this and we want more, you might have a problem, folks. You might you might seriously have a problem if you don't think you need to make a change. Let's go to this. I mean, you know, I've seen over the years you see Lynn Dixon, the last election, loses by about seven points before that, Ray Walter, 2015, he loses by only getting about a third of the vote. How can you win? How can you win against him in a in a in a county where you feel like his supporters will just continue to forgive, keep giving him a break? And then here he is in office again. Yeah, that is undoubtedly something that can't be ignored. I I'm not stupid. I know that this is David going after Goliath. I know this is my first time running. I went from zero to one hundred. I get that. But I also know that I have the leadership, the personality, the demeanor to keep fighting until we cross the finish line. To put your answer your question in simple terms, I think people are starting to wake up. I think people are fed up. I think they're tired of what's been going on. One of my lines that I've quickly learned from this past month is Nimba, not in my backyard.

"But a lot of people don't have that, that ability. And that's what breaks my heart. These people continue to vote for the Joe Bidens of the world with the idea that yes, it will be better and I'll be able to work my way out of where I am. And it's actually going the other way. And welcome to another TFG podcast. I'm Mike Hayflick, along with my partner, Mike Speraza. Mike, how are you doing today? I am good. No complaints here. I can't elbow you. You're not, you're not like sitting right next to me. I can pretend I am, but it's not really working for me. We can figure it out. I don't know if you can see my arms over here, but we'll figure it out. Yeah, I see them. I see them. Yeah. Hey, so it's back. Not actually COVID, Mike, but mask mandates. Major movie studio Lionsgate reinstating the mask mandate. Effective immediately, Mike. It's serious. It's dangerous. Get those masks on. They will be required on certain floors in the Santa Monica offices until further notice. And, um, this is the official, uh, note here from let's see Summer McElroy, uh, is response the manager for Lionsgate slash stars. And, uh, she says employees must wear a medical grade face covering surgical mask, K on 95 or N 95. Geez. I forgot how much I, I hated those terms, Mike, until just now when indoors, except when alone in an office with the door closed, actively eating, actively drinking at their desk or workstation, or if they are the only individual present in a large open workspace. So there are some exceptions, Mike, but can you even imagine that they're thinking COVID COVID is back when a couple people, a couple people have, have gotten COVID again and have tested for COVID -19 amazing. Well, yeah, I'll tell you what's not actually back. It's COVID. Uh, COVID is not actually back. I know they're saying there's a new variance, Mike, that's the new thing, right? Whatever GB four, five, two, one dash four, whatever they're calling this new one. LGB, Q plus AI, 14, 17, and that we know isn't coming back, obviously. Um, you know, it's, this is another fear tactic gets to get people all juiced up. It's working, by the way. Um, you know, and Mike, what's coming in 2024? Hmm. What is happening in 2020? Oh, another election cycle. So we need to scare people and we need to get people worried about not going to the voting booth again. So we can do what we did in 2024. If it's not what we did in 2020, now in 2024, what we know is Mike, there's going to be a crisis. We just don't know what it is. Is it, is it more COVID? Is it going to be a climate change issue where we're afraid you can't walk in public or you're going to die. So they can't go wait in election lines. We don't know what it is. They're going to try COVID again. I'm interested to see how it works though, because I really will tell you, I don't think it's going to work the way they think it is. You know, obviously people like us aren't going to follow it just the way we did last time, but will they get all the people they scared last time based on vaccinations, Mike and booster schedules? I don't think it's going to work, but we'll see. Well, Hey, why not try it though? That's what they say. That's what they say. That's right. Yeah. Keep going. Double down, triple down, quadruple down. So, so the, there were several employees, Mike, testing positive for COVID -19. This was from Dr. Nicole Sapphire. She said, the reason you have an uptick in cases right now is not because you did something wrong. It's because for the last several years, we've seen an uptick in cases in the winter. And we also see one in the end of summer. This is just a normal cycle of this respiratory virus. Now to your point, Mike, I think this is just the normal cycle, the normal routine for liberals and Democrats. The normal cycle is to fear monger, make people anxious again, make them feel like they, they might peril from, from the COVID virus. So you, you've got to stay in and then eventually they're going to start saying, um, but don't worry, you'll be able to vote, but you're going to be able to do it by mailing in your ballots. You're going to be doing early voting, right? So to your point, this is just part of their playbook. And I swear in somebody's crazy laboratory, political laboratory on a whiteboard, this is there, I'm sure for mid to late August scare up people in, on COVID again, scare them up. And then are we going to hear about more boosters, Mike, do you think? Well, it'll be interesting to see what they do. Here's my thing. And I believe this, I think this could be a good thing for Republicans to be honest with you, Mike, because if you do this again and you, you fight this fight, like the way they did the last time, you actually may move more voters to Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, whoever the candidate is, because people are just not going to do it. And I'm going to tell you right now, they think they're going to start to push this stuff in September, October, when kids are back to school and they're going to say the kids need to come back and mask. We need to put up the penalty boxes again. Um, it's going to cause mayhem. I thank God, Mike, I don't have a kid in school yet. Obviously both your girls are way out of school now, so you don't have to worry about that. But a lot of parents are going to have to worry about, I'll tell you if my kid was in school, I'd be ripping them out in homeschooling them so fast. I would make it work whatever my wife and I had to do. My child is not going to school and face diapers. My child is not getting boosted and vaccinated. It's not happening. Um, we'll see what happens though. I mean, again, do I think people are going to get scared and go boost up? I'm sure they will. The same way that all these people think that Donald Trump, you know, created an insurrection on January 6th, anything they hear from CNN or MSNBC, they'll run with and you know, some people, but I think a lot of the middle voters are going to say, wait a minute, I'm not dealing with this bullshit again. No way. So to use some of their terminology, do you think that literally the conservatives, the more moderate thinkers, the common sense thinkers, those that actually look at facts and evidence, do you think this is going to trigger, uh, their microaggressions, which I would say, if you tell them that they can't go out again, if you tell them that they need masks, that they must get vaccines, these are macroaggressions. These are aggressions far, far worse than not calling someone by the right pronoun. And, and do you, you think that this could really sway the more moderate thinker, maybe even the moderate Democrats and hopefully a whole bunch of independence? Yeah, I do. I think it's the same thing that we're seeing with the four indictments on Donald Trump. I think a lot of people in the middle that don't actually like Trump by the way are kind of like, wait a minute, this isn't adding up anymore. We're going after this guy on crimes that for the most part, Mike, they really have no evidence of, they just keep saying he does these things, but when called to bring evidence, they really haven't been able to. I mean, some of the crimes in New York with Alvin Bragg, you look at them and you're like, well, many people have made payments to people or, you know, many people have used different accounts and you know, you look at the one in Georgia, they're going after Mark Meadows for making a phone call to an attorney in Pennsylvania. What is the crime for that? Right. I think that's the same type of thing that we're seeing here with COVID where people are going to say, okay, enough is enough. I don't maybe love Trump as a man. I don't love Trump for who he is. However, I need to vote for someone that actually cares about me and that's not going to make my family and myself go through hell. And I do think there's fear out there too, Mike, with the indictment thing. I know I'm going back to that, but at some point, you know, it's kind of nerve wracking, isn't it? When are they coming after me? When are they coming after Mike Hayflick or Lomas or Wiggle or the financial guys as a whole? When you do these things that they've done, it begins to make you wonder again, not a conspiracy theory guy, but man, it's kind of scary what's going on right now. And if you don't see that, you're either blinded or you have a serious, serious form of Trump derangement syndrome, which I've said this on the record, Mike, and I'll let you get back in. Trump derangement syndrome has impacted and affected more infected, more people than COVID ever did. I can assure you that. Mm hmm. Yeah. You wonder, um, we'll, we'll talk a little bit more about Trump a bit later. Um, and then I want to talk to, uh, to you about our president, our president Biden, who, who, who visited Maui recently, just, just to wrap this though, many mainstream media outlets have actually been running a lot of, uh, of, of their programming on again, masking. So MSNBC, they ran a segment on kids masking to prevent the spread of the virus at the beginning of the new school year. Of course, PBS had one about wearing masks in crowded areas to prevent the spread. CBS mornings warned about the summer COVID spike that may happen due to people letting their guard down, Mike, they're letting their guard down. They're not, they're not behaving as they're supposed to. They're not, they're not, they're not programmed well enough yet, Mike, to know that they should have just been putting masks on Mike because the end of the summer was nearing. So, um, but we got to move on. It's making me, one thing I want to vomit. Let me say one more thing on that. This is, this is yet another thing that they're going to say as an Alex Jones conspiracy theory, because he was the one that came out and said, this is coming. Uh, it'll be another truth. Just like the Babylon B is now the, the full source of actual truth. Every time they joke about something, it happens. Um, Alex Jones has been called a conspiracy theorist for years now, some things he's been wrong and I will say that, but this is another one to say, Oh, they're not going to do that. Don't worry. They're not coming down with COVID mandates again. Oh, but they are. And there's evidence of it too. Target has gone to, you can pick stuff up now. They're creating pickup lines again. You have stuff talking about voting and elections again. I mean, it's, it's coming and I'm waiting for it, Mike. I'll tell you what's going to piss me off is when they do it with sports games again. Oh, you're not fully boosted yet. You don't have a mask on. Yes. Or you can't come into the bills or savers games. That will be the end of it for me. I think if they go to that, that, that extreme. I think you're right. I think when you start messing with people's sports and their inclination to want to go and get together and have some fun at a sports event, you really are. You really are needle in people at that point. Um, all right, let's talk about our president, Joe Biden. He finally makes it over to Maui to check out the conditions there. And, and this is what he does, Mike and his, I mean, literally moderate to maybe severe dementia state that he's in. he uses a minor fire at his house to claim he knows what it's like to lose a home while visiting Maui. So this is essentially what he said. I don't want to compare difficulties, but you know, he's going to as soon as he says that right, Mike. Um, but we have a little sense Jill and I have what it was like to lose a home years ago. Now, 15 years, I was in Washington doing meet the press, like to actually look this up by the way, and do some fact checking on this because you know, many of the things he said never, never proved to be true. He says, um, lightning struck at home on a little lake outside the home, not a lake, a big pond. It hit the wire and came up underneath our home into the air conditioning ducts. To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my Corvette 67 and my cat. So this isn't the first time he's recalled this Mike. He, uh, he, this happened in 2021. He said that his house burned down and, uh, you know, here, here he goes, you know, this is what I think people who are ill do. Um, this, this actually says it started a small fire that was contained to the kitchen. So this was not almost losing his wife and his Corvette and his cat, Mike, by the way. So a little bit of extra, what we call that hyperbole, exaggeration, um, just telling a damn right lie. So, so he is so out of touch. There's another, another thing I want to mention then about his visit there, but he is so out of touch that even in the worst of tragedies, literally standing on charred ground, looking at probably miles worth of, of nothing, it's got to look like a war zone in Maui. And he can only think of himself, Mike. Well, first thing is Joe was your house fire. Was that climate change too? Or was that just a faulty wire? That would be my first question. Number two, Mike. Yeah. I mean, look at, this is politics. One -on -one you try and reason with voters. You try and reason with people, you know, in ways that you can, just like he does with the, the Bo Biden stuff. But there's a point in time where it's not, it's just not comparable. Right. And you have to see that moment that have a brain in your head. And I don't think he has it personally. Um, this as, you know, as like you said, there's charred remains, thousands of people still missing, by the way, your, your pitch is, Hey, I almost lost my cat. I don't care about your kid that might be under the rub. In my Corvette. Your cat, your Corvette, the same Corvette that Hunter was putting the documents in and bringing hookers to same Corvette. I'm not sure. But the, the, the thing like, again, at the end of the day, these people don't know where their loved ones are and you're making comments about a small house fire that was probably from an oven that you left bread in. And you're talking to people like, Hey yo, your kid's underneath the rubble. Don't worry about it. I lost my cat in my Corvette. I mean, I know how it feels. No, you don't Joe. And that's not how you talk to people that are going through the single worst thing in their life, especially ones that lost loved ones. You know, the ones that lost their house, Mike, that obviously stinks. And you know, I deal with a home insurance that's terrible, but it's when you don't know where your loved ones are, or you don't know where your family is or your friends are because in children are right. That's, that's the stuff that to me that like, come on, Joe, man, don't, don't, don't patronize people like that and don't make people feel like crap. And then tell a story about you and your family. It's unbelievable. Yeah. It never ends. Here's a, another, another thought that he had as he, as he was walking around Maui, he basically says, you know, he he's walking amongst these people and he shaking hands with officials, of course, probably not even sure where he is at that point. Um, he stops in front of a search and rescue dog. And while petting the dog, he joked the boots, the canine was wearing. He says, you guys catch the boots here. He smiled and said, that's some hot ground, man. So here he goes with his man comments, again, just with no common sense, whatever, no compassion at all joking that the dog's got to wear boots because the ground is so hot. I mean, I just like, this just makes me wonder who still supports this man. This man is ill. This man should not be, he should not be leaving his home anymore. I don't think he could leave his home unattended and not get lost or maybe die in a tragedy himself. And who on earth is still support in this man? Well, he's, he's the guy that you're, you know, your parent, let's say that you're afraid to leave at home, or they're going to leave the stove on and burn the house down. And I'm not trying to make a, a fire comparison. That is not, that is not, I totally agree. I'm being serious, right? I mean, this is the type of guy we're talking about here. We've all had that in our family, grandparents, parents, you know, maybe even children that are, that are handicapped or something, right? I mean, we, we have these fears and they're legitimate, right? And for a guy that can barely talk in public, you do worry, is he forgetting things that, you know, whatever it may be. Um, I'll say this to him. I don't know if you saw the video. It's came out today and it's been circulating today of him at some kind of, uh, event in Maui and he's falling asleep. Did you see that? He's falling asleep. No, I thought you were going to, I thought you were going to say the one where he was doing the press conference and the guy offered him a glass of water and he kind of looked like he didn't even know what that meant and he wandered off to his left. But no, I didn't even hear about this next one. I don't think we can possibly keep up, Mike. We can't possibly keep up. And to our point, Mike, you know, we make jokes and we smirk sometimes we talk about this guy, but, but it's really not funny. And it really is a problem that we have that as our leader, again, dealing with, uh, president G in China, dealing with Putin in Russia, um, even dealing with Zelensky in Ukraine, like this is not the guy you want doing that. And again, what scares me is and not to make light of it, but you wouldn't trust this guy dog sitting for you, let alone running the country. Right. And again, to my point, how many like you you've had family, I've had family that you, you fear for their safety. If you're not around, right. That is this guy through and through. It's scary.

"Hey, Mike. Yeah, listen, here's my concern about the ticket you mentioned. By the way, I love that woman from Arizona. She should have won that election. Jerry Lake, she's great. I am so worried about what the media is going to do to Trump. I just, I feel no matter what he does, he can't win. But you say that about desantis too, right? You know what the media know what you know what the media is going to do to desantis, right? I think it'll be different. No, it won't be. Does not have a history of, you know, all this stuff they accuse Trump of. They've sabotaged him to death. I just don't think he has a chance. He could run with George Washington anymore. Yeah, you know, you know what maybe being in Atlanta, maybe you're not, you don't have the benefit of hearing Florida media, what they're doing to desantis they're calling him a fascist. I know, but he knows how to handle the media. He's not going to get it. You don't think Trump knows how to handle the media? I think sometimes he gets out of control with his comments. He gets into arguments with people at a very massive personal question because you sell. Policies were phenomenal. You voted for him. You voted for him in 2020? I'm sorry. You voted for him in 2020? "So here I want to get some pay dirt from you, Mike. I need you to back up is only you can. The truth, the evidence for the rotation of the turrets, the gun turrets were moved from foreign enemies who are populists to domestic enemies like Trump and maga and America first. How do we know this happened after 1617 and 18? Sure, and we could spend 5 hours on this alone. But just to try to tell it is linearly as possible. And let me just preface by saying, I do not apply on substantive foreign policy issues other than, you know, my mission is censorship and digital freedom. And so when I talk about things is I'm going to hear about the events in Ukraine or dynamics around Russia or whatnot. This is not to make an opinion one way or the other about that. I leave that to other folks. I'm simply going to explain essentially what happened and how this was turned inward. So you had the events in Ukraine in 2014, where I got to jump in because this is going to be a mad. I would say America is not an empire, or at least if it is, it's a very unusual one, because other empires control the territory they invade. We allow the Iraqis the Afghans to pick their own leaders and then we leave. So if it's an empire it's a very, very different kind of empire. But I just wanted to make that footnote. Okay, so talk about talk about the events in Ukraine, Mike. Yeah. So you had this Crimea referendum in 2014 that created response from the U.S. and NATO folks around this threat of what was initially called the de Rossi mop doctrine term essentially coined by a frequent NATO sort of thought leader Mark galeotti. The gerasimov doctrine was this idea that Russia was using information warfare in order to influence the hearts and minds of folks in central and Eastern Europe. And was sort of using Internet propaganda and what not to do that. And this Internet propaganda was propping up right wing populist parties in central and Eastern Europe that were, say, you know, Russia sent sympathizers. So

And this guy has Trump down to a T, and he makes fun of themselves, so, you know, there's something for everybody. But the last sketch on SNL was Oscar Isaac as a janitor walking into a local community college creative writing thingy. And he walked in with the mob and the bucket and the teacher was like, oh, no, no, no, we're not done. And you know, and then she says, well, you know, I've seen you with your books in the hallways. Do you write? He's like, yes, I do right. Very meek character. I do. I'm not the writer's you folks are. I just write here and there. And she said, please sit down and read something you've written. And of all people do a leap, the pop star coming into the school, asking, are you Mike? Yeah, I might. Oh, I've been wanting to meet you. And basically it went down this road where she asked him, could you teach me to make out? And the teacher of the creative writing class was like, no, no, I don't think we need to go forward. And the two women were like, yeah, this is getting creepy. But the guys were saying, no, no, let them finish. President Biden to unveil his $2 trillion infrastructure plan today
"Correspondent Mike Power get a little bit Maura on this infrastructure bill that President Biden is going to unveil today. Um, more big spending from the White House, Mike Yeah, You are looking at the White House that is expected to unveil an ambitious plan to spend $2.25 Trillion on the jobs and infrastructure package that could form technically a cornerstone of Biden's economic agenda in Pittsburgh today, that's where he's supposed to make the announcement. I also is going to propose using the revenue from increasing corporate taxes. And pay for eight years of ambitious spending on roads, bridges, utilities and other needs. Technically, really two phases of this plan to the first one is the one that you'll be unveiling today. The next one will be a second when they will be unveiled. We believe were hearing about in the next month or so. But this in this time where infrastructure has kind of been a running joke for the better part of the last couple of years, it's something that always being put off because there's some Sort of a scandal or something that's come up on some level. Now we're actually going to have a plan that will include approximately $650 billion to rebuild the country's infrastructure, Its roads, bridges, highways, ports, There will be $400 billion toward home care for the elderly and disabled $300 billion for housing infrastructure. 300 billion to revive US manufacturing will include hundreds of billions of dollars to bolster the nation's electric grid to enact nationwide high speed broadband and revamp the nation's water system. So there's a whole bunch of elements that are involved here. By the way, just so we're all clear, too. Last minute they're still changes being made. So a Zafar is what is and isn't in it. First Morning News
Takeaways from the Senate hearing on Washington, DC riot
"Faulty intelligence and band communication lead to the breakdown of security during the capital riots. A hearing about the rights underway on Capitol Hill is good policed on that. Joining us live now, NBC radio National correspondent Mike Power Morning, Mike Yeah. Good morning, Joe. You're looking at former U. S. Capitol security officials telling Congress and enjoy hearing yesterday that they did not have sufficient information ahead of the January 6 attacks in the Capitol to accurately predict The scale of the attack. You had testimony from former U. S. Capitol police chief Steven Son, House sergeant at arms Paul Irving and Senate sergeant at arms, Michael Finger and all of whom resigned their posts after the Capitol siege following request from top leaders of both parties. But you also heard from U. S. Capitol Police captain Kardashian Mendoza, who's been with the department 19 years and said that that day January 6 was by far the worst of the worst. In terms of events that she has worked over the past two decades. And clearly what the messaging was here was that while they felt Capitol police and others felt they were prepared for an event, it doesn't sound like they had any idea of what this event was going to turn into. Capitol police chief Stephenson said. These criminals came prepared for war. They came with their own radio system to coordinate the attack. They came in climbing here and other equipment to defeat the Capitol Security features. At all three former capital security officers agreed that the January 6th attack was planned and coordinated. It involved white supremacists and extremist groups. And they did not get enough information from the FBI about it if they got any at all. In fact, some of them son it was there was indicating that he hadn't heard anything about FBI intelligence indicating that this could evolve into something bigger. Harsher greater than what the expectation was, until literally yesterday. That's when he heard about about to be fair. He did resign after the jet the January 6th attacks. But he said during the time there, there was no preparation that based on the intelligence, they believe that they met the threat that was they were prepared for, and now they know they had the wrong plan. There wasn't enough of the information coming from the FBI, even though the FBI sent a report the evening of the attempted evening before the attack detailing various calls for violence next day, but those never got to the proper people, according to reports yesterday. This is kind of strange, because even before this rally occurred, there was word that the National Guard was rated standing by in the National Guard was offered. So I mean, you know, uh, somebody was prepared. It seems like there was a head's up on some level or or maybe that's the worst case scenario thought like, Let's just make sure we've got that kind of back up, ready to go. But even then there were concerns over apparently optics as to whether or not the optics of having a national guard. There was something that was a concern whether or not there was a call made early in the day requesting Help from the National Guard has had sons. You said he made a call at 109 P. M. But you according to Irving, he said he didn't receive such a call. So now you've got senators going, okay? Let's get phone records to verify that somebody made that call at 109 asking for National Guard help and what happened or what their confusion was on some level immediately afterwards because that could be a big indication As to why the guard didn't get out there quick enough clearly for the situation, so there is still more investigation that needs to be done. I believe that there's going to be another one of these coming up next week that will be greater detail That's determined what happened with the National Guard on some level, but at least at this point in time, the indication was Capitol Police didn't have all of the information at their disposal to determine Whether or not this was going to be his violent as it actually turned out, already

"Yeah, And I don't know that you want to be that team because I think it can While you can get the quarterback, I think it's I think subsequently that plays out and you put yourself in a bad position for For years to come. Um, well, the quarterback just goes to a team that's going to be like his old team. If they give away everything, so maybe, Yeah, just switching uniforms and the teams are gonna be Similar You know, we don't even know if the show Watson is going to be available. We have no idea if Aaron Rodgers is going to be available with that. We have no idea. We're just kind of thinking they might be. Stafford is me, is it that they're going to trade Matthew Stafford and I'm a huge Matt Matthew Stafford guy, Steve Steve said He thought he could be one of the greats of this generation. If you were in a better position, just being you know, with the with the Lions and All. They heard that there's a guy that there's a guy that speaking from experience coming from Tampa, but yeah, and look, I don't I'm with you. I think they can. They can win with Jimmy. I do. I just think they stand a better chance to win. If you get a guy like Stafford in that, that's it. You're just trying to upgrade upgrade the team, and I think you know you watch him play and not a lot of people watch Lions games, But you watch him play and this guy got sick. He's incredible talent. He really is in your right bread. I mean, he's tough as nails. Some of the games in their back into are just incredible. So it's not like you're saying, Oh, my gosh. We need a quarterback. We can't win with this guy. You went to the Super Bowl with this guy, and I think they could again. I mean, I do, but I didn't give him a much better chance. If you have a guy and I'm again with you after the CL. He just different. He's not. I thought he was gonna be awesome. When he first came here, I thought Oh, my gosh. These guys have you remember those six or seven years? He could not. He was like completing the The ball like 85%. He didn't seem the Jaguars was first. Unbelievable. It was unbelievable. And I remember I think I think the natural if If we do move on from Jimmy, Obviously, the natural trading partner would be New England because he knows the system and belt check probably won't understand you want, but here's what I'm going to say for the foreseeable future. We might have the best wide receivers. Doubles too tight in combo in the National Football League, including the Kansas City Chiefs, because I will put I I will put Deebo and in Ah yuk And our our favorite title and number 85 against Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelsey and name another wide receiver. Hardman. Maybe Yeah, maybe So. So you have read to you, Jordan Reed on this team Still good call. So we're gonna have the most explosive trio of receivers in the National Football League when everybody's back and everybody's healthy, and that is I would stand by that all day long. And now there's some people get mad. Say what about this team? What about this team? What about these guys? No way. So we've drafted tremendously for the positions that we've needed, especially at wide receiver. We keep everybody healthy. Now we have to have somebody that can Take advantage of those skill sets and Jimmy that year. One Absolutely was that guy. I just don't know if after the A C. Elia's is Matthew Stafford 1000 person, and so it just It changes the calculus If you bring in someone like that, so I'm ready to part with our first round pick. Think we have a higher pick right now. For a better pick than all the other quote people that are competing for him and left unless people start throwing in multiple picks, because I'd be a little concerned I'd start to question it if we had to throw in. You know, multiple ones or one and a. You know, I'd maybe even do one of the three. But beyond that's like, I don't mind over pain. Some But over paying a lot eventually comes back to bite you, peeking says. That may be Garoppolo in a second for Stafford making major. You make it right now to change their mind making. Yeah, let's just say you could get your quarterback situation taking care of and you still have retained your 12th pick in the draft. Then what do yeah. What do you want? What do you want to add to this team? You want to have an edge rusher? You want to add another dynamic wide receiver? You wanna a linebacker? A safety? A corner A tackle? What do you want to add? Yes, please. Okay. You know what? I'd love another dynamic edge rusher. And I think if you have Two people to contend with, you know, with with Nick coming back. I mean, he's a beast. And if you have if you have somebody else that draws attention is going to change all the dynamics of our pass rush, And it was interesting to see you know. I actually thought the bills could win this game. Going into the game is right. And I was you guys should take me now. I probably shouldn't even offer this but watching the game by myself. I yelled the TV. Oh, yeah. The ref! Oh, you have a player. Was young, the bills and the coach the minute they kicked the field goal. I mean, because I thought that, Mike Yeah, you don't get it you There's no way you're gonna be this team because SUBS subsequently they're going to score and they're going to score touchdowns and you can't stop him, especially playing that stupid pre even defense that they were playing. That's just silly. Unless you're gonna get a ridiculous pass rush. So on the other side of the equation, you saw Kansas City. I have not been blown away by Kansas City's D this year. The man they were, they were getting a lot of pressure on one Alan. They were and they were rattling him. And that was really the difference in the game and no matter of the quarterback. I don't care who it is. You get pressure on him. You hit him a couple of times. He's going to make mistakes. There's no and you hear it all the time. All that guy he got rattled and he started throwing picks or he started making horrible decisions. Yeah, that's every single one of them. There's never been a guy that's gotten blast and gotten pressure that's been able to kind of maneuver through and so consistent pressure matters. And last year we way certainly had that, in fact. We're the only team in the last year to make Patrick Holmes look pedestrian had Patrick Mahomes Had he not thrown that one ball up in the air down the field that looked like playing three flies up when Larry was a kid. Um He would have been the go to the game. He would have not been the hero on guess. Oh, man, we were just on the cusp. Now. Mahomes yesterday looked unbeatable, and he's been pretty dang impressive, but I would love to get mean. Yeah, we need corners. But remember, you can. You can suffice with average corners. If you got a ridiculously great pass rush. You gotta rush with four and get it done. So you see a man before? Just just think about the heat that Tampa put on Aaron Rodgers yesterday. And I think that bothered Rogers to the point where he wasn't bad. He was good, but he wasn't great. And we could talk about calls that were made and you know, by by the floor and what have you that didn't help out Aaron Rodgers, but I think we were not given. We would not be given Tampa's defense, especially Barrett and Peter Paul, and the pressure those guys were able to put on..

Very light on 1 28 here between, say, Wall, Fam and Danvers. No problems there. 93 is clear all the way to the New Hampshire border and no difficulties on Rue one. The Mass Turnpike has been good since late this morning, and it's still clear both directions between 2 90 Auburn and the potential tunnel downtown. Speaking of downtown, things are good coming into the city Tonight. Storrow Drive looks good coming in past the Longfellow Bridge the Tobin Bridge and deliver it down Rampart. Good and so is the lower deck of 93. My king with WBC's traffic on the three them for the rest of the 90 occasional Fleury, maybe in northern Massachusetts. But, you know, I keep watching the radar and it looks like for the most part these air starting to clear up, so we'll take that for sure. We've got a pretty cloudy night ahead with the load just about 30, right by the coast and closer toward the lower twenties, if you're north and west of Boston Tomorrow. Some sunshine not quite so cold in the afternoon high pushing the mid forties maybe a flurry or to north and west of 4 95 in the afternoon and evening hours. We can so far looking pretty good son on both Saturday and Sunday, But it will be very cold. So if you have to be outside layers, warm drinks, mittens, maybe Bernie mittens, whatever you choose. We've got a hand. You're 31 on Saturday. Real fields in the teens and then for your Sunday we've got blustery conditions behind near 32. Let's take a look at the temperatures right now, saying 27 in Westford, west of town, 25 in south Bridge south of town on the South.

"Not be available, So just taking your calls. Let's go right to Michael in Lebanon. A Michael your thoughts? What do you have, man? Talking about? Getting vascular vaccinated? Well, you know, I don't know if you heard the story the other day about the 93 year old couple who got their celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary getting their shot. I saw something about that. I didn't read the story, but they're called Spring Kentucky couple that got their shot and Hamilton, Ohio because they met the requirements and Amazon. So they crossed the borders and got the shot. I just wonder what you think about it. I can't exactly visit Using in Ohio back change, sort of space looking Mike Yeah. And you were talking earlier head right about the snowbirds right in Florida were down of Laura. People are bitching because you could go online. And you know and sign up. And people who lived in Florida couldn't get it. But some guy from like whatever. Cincinnati was getting vaccinated with his wife. It seems like you should just go to the state you live in, you know, And I'm sure everyone has an excuse and why you got to go to another stinger that but I don't know. Just go in orderly fashion state. You live in whatever state is on your driver's license or where you Have your mail sent. Find the vaccine there don't seem like that would be kind of basic that you have to just show your from, you know, here and you get the get the shot. You would think I don't know. It seems like there's certain looking. I'm not Saying, This is not a very, very complex, complicated process, getting the same notice. But there's certain things that just seemed to be like. No. You living your This is Kentucky. You live in Ohio Go over there and get the vaccine. You know you're not more special than anybody else. Just go there and get theirs and more guitars here. Because I'm gonna look this up and I want to see how it was done in the early sixties late fifties, when they did the polio vaccine, because, like I told you, you got that one, right? I vaguely remember. I was a little kid. I might have been. I was Three of my earliest memory. Probably. I was probably like four years old. Maybe. And I remember going to the high school and standing in line with my family, and we ate the sugar Cube that had the vaccine on it. And I don't know how they organize that that we can't get something like that together Now. I mean, it was hard to distribute. Don't get me wrong. I get it, and it's a big, you know the stuff that has to be shifted. I think that's so That's a major part of it. If it could be if they could ship that and just sits in a giant warehouse for months, and they just keep taking vials, But it can't be stored. It Was a negative. Forget water. I forget 17 degrees, so something like that, But the thing is, they got that's a this new Johnson and Johnson thing that's supposed to be room temperature. One shot. You're done. Seems all right. I'm down with that. Again. I'm way ahead of you in life. Thanks for pulling that out. But the only reason is because I'm a lot over a Who do we have here? Court? Is it in Harrison? Yeah. This is court. Enjoy your show, guys. Thanks, man. Um, yeah. So, uh, have a conundrum from everybody. Um, Eddie, I'm saying ages you so if you remember 65 years ago. 55 years ago. Really? You couldn't go to school unless you live had smallpox vaccine and other things like that, Um, when you come a long way since then. Here's the problem. Everybody is talking about bird immunity. Um 70 to 75%. And at that point in time, I think that's when the government and all the agency's going to say, OK, we feel safe about lifting all the restrictions. That kind of thing. Well, here's the Here's that conundrum here. I will tell you that probably 40% of the people out there and I have some serious with people talking in the medical industry. Are not willing to take the shot. Just kind of like Rocky is right now, and I understand that Um, but here's the problem. You'll never get to herd immunity of 75%. Unless 75% of the people either had the vaccine. Or had the Tobin So you know, if 40% I'm taking it, there's no way to get enough people to get that 300 million people vaccinated. Especially when there's no requirement but then to get vaccinated. So you know, we're in a democracy, and I'm all for that. But, you know, 55 years ago, it wouldn't have been that case. So we've got a real issue here with government's gonna wait for her community. We're not going to get to it. Look, I am excited that this shot in the vaccine is out there for the very reason you just gave. I want life to get back to normal. I want to get the damn ass off. All right faces. I want to sit down in a restaurant past 10 o'clock. I wanna go in the store and and be able to talk to someone and see their faith. All of that. I agree with that. I'm happy the vaccines out there and I hope it's and again. I may decide not to get it, but I'm I'm hoping that people do. Let's talk to Steven four, right, Steve? What do you have? Yeah. Eddie, Remember shoot. So I'll talk in 1963 or four. Yeah, I got the football. Sugar Cube hold. So did way gotta write our classroom, right? And it's a great sport, so neighbors in Fort right Nice. Yeah, I just remember my whole family going and they had it at the high school gym, And we all went down there. And it was a giant line as I recall, but you know, you stood in line you went in there took your little cup poop out. Knows it. That was so I've got like, uh, you know, my younger brother and sister. They don't remember that part but my older brothers and sisters, I'm in the middle, the middle child. And they go. Yeah, Yeah, we went got the sugar Cube and you know, pretty good flying. You know, I don't know what you can't do that now with the share of you. That's what I was wondering, And you know what That's the thing is. I don't know either. Steve is why you can't mean that was so easy and it was so efficient And I mean and this is 57 certain professions. It was very efficient. Yeah, I guess it's just, you know, look, the complexity of viruses and a Corona virus and this is now even and already. It was kind of a serious so there's no question. I just don't think it's E just like something's happened easier than others kind of kind of deal. We'll just say we got lucky and he was happy with. What has happened is here is we over? As we've gotten further advanced, we overthink everything. You know, as opposed to just doing it. Has kind of the point of what you and I have been talking about, But we're talking around it as we go and everybody's overthinking everything we could do this better. We're now we're into over in 2021, Man. Everything is used to be a supersized. Everything has to be worth online for their futuristic now. Hell, no. This is still 1948 on the truck and get into the dam site. Thank you. End of story. It is very simple way you put it. Thank you. I mean, maybe it's just wishful thinking. But that's clicking away. There was Robert, What do you think?.

"Anneli WBZ. Boston's news radio 3 13 traffic and weather together. The Subaru retailers of New England all wheel drive traffic on the threes. Trouble on the expressway. Yep. Mike Yeah, We've got a lot of folks heading out of town here. Ben is the afternoon rush kicks off the South down expressways just crawling along here from the tunnel down to South Bay. By the time you're down by the gas tank, it loosens up it. Pretty good from there down through east Milton and Quincy. It slow into the brain tree split. I've got 22 minutes. Boston to Braintree to give you an idea. North bound delays coming in. Yeah, from granted. Have a past Neponset circle, but just a bit slow up towards the tunnel. Now, Ruth, three South is backed up a little bit coming off the expressway. It's really not too bad at all down along the South shore otherwise The lower ends of 1 28 93 there in decent shape, And so it's 3 24 down into that Bridgewater random stretch. Now up to the North 93 North is hung up to Medford coming on Password 16 and Route 60, but you pick up speed. After that route One is clear up to Lynnfield and Danvers in the upper end of 1 20. It's pretty quiet for now. Delays on Route nine. This is Route nine West that's backed up a little over a mile through Brookline. There's apparently a lane closure out towards chest. Not here. Lab. So you got to deal with that all the mass Turnpike is doing pretty well. Past 1 28, eventually into Framingham in Westborough, and then downtown. Things were pretty good. With the lower deck delivered down ramp and the Tobin Bridge. They're all okay my king with WBC's traffic on the threes. Way had some snow flurries and snow showers around. Most of them have faded away, although we may still see a few flakes around the area as.

"Mike Yeah, just north of the city. Here, bandits. The Tobin Bridge, Outbound that's jammed all the way up and over and on the Rue one up around that Chelsea curve. All right. It's a disabled boss, one of those many Busses in the right lane. It's just ahead of the sixth Street on ramp, but a mile after the Tobin Bridge, right Lane Disabled bus That's the problem else. Restore. Oh, drive east is backed up a little bit coming in Deliverance Circle pretty slow in delivering up ramp. No surprise. The lower deck of 93. All the airport tunnels are fine up to the north of the city. We go. It's check 1 28. With the WBC news radio road report. One little bit of a hang up here on 1 28. It's on the south outside. It's a bit slow in the right lane exiting to reach three in the Middlesex terms like dead in Burlington. Otherwise, if you stay to the left, you'll get by that just fine. As long as you don't want to get on with three and then heading down to the mass pike, you're in good shape about north out that still looking good from West in all the way up toward Cape Anne. Kristen AC and the WBC news Radio road report. Things really aren't so bad on the expressway for a Monday afternoon. It's wide open. Coming out of the tunnel is slow going as you pass, self pay and Columbia Road little slow into the brain tree split, but 15 minutes overall Boston to Braintree isn't bad at all. North sounds fine all the way in 90 three's backed up both directions exiting for route 24, which we expect it stays like that on 24 south for a little bit. 95 South is clear all the way into Foxboro down through Mansfield, Route three south along the South Shore is good and the mass turnpike trouble free as well. My king WBC's traffic on the £3 of break eventually tonight, giving us clearing skies and temperatures fall to in the low twenties, and some of the coldest suburbs will be just below. Phrasing Marquis.

Gadget Lab Podcast
The iPhones 12
"Mike, yes Lauren Mike, are you going to upgrade your iphone? Well have an iphone. But it has five gene. Yeah, who cares? Let's see if we can answer that on this week's show. Hi Everyone. Welcome to gadget lab. I'm lauren good. I'm a senior writer at wired and I'm joined remotely by my Co host wired senior editor Michael Cholerae. He who does not have an iphone hello from Pixel land. And we're also joined by wired senior associate editor. Julian Chicago to who has like seventeen different phones on him right now. Hey Julie in below my desk has like six phones on right now so. So today we are talking about yet another apple event this week apple announced a new iphone twelve, actually four of them and a tiny smart speaker, and these are the first iphones with five G. which matters doesn't matter doesn't matter yet. We're GONNA talk about five G. later on in the show what you need to know about it the challenges and rolling it out across the US and whether you'll even be able to connect to five G. With the new IPHONE are calling. We'll night is going to join us later on for that but first, let's talk about the phones themselves. Jillian. Phone has championed edges. Let's get that out of the way. That's probably the most important thing here, right? Okay. But obviously, there's more than that what stood out to you most about the new iphones twelve as someone who takes a lot of photos and tests the cameras on phones a lot. A. Lot of their camera upgrades. We're the most exciting thing for me and and I really like how a lot of those camera upgrades are kind of for the most part. All across the entire lineup from the 699 iphone twelve mini, you're getting the same main camera that they improve the aperture on as the iphone twelve pro. But for the most part that iphone twelve pro, you get these new features like pro raw, which gives you the ability to edit. Raw photos and also get the benefits of apples, computational photography, and that is just someone something that's really exciting for someone who takes a lot of raw photos with my camera just gives you more granular control over photo editing and also the other thing is they're bringing night mode to every single lens that's on this phone. So finally, you can take a Selfie, at night and not have to worry about it being too terrible, looking or grainy. So overall I think the entire suite of camera features on the entire range is pretty exciting and pretty dramatically better than what you had last year on the iphone eleven. And tell us about some of the video improvements to yes. For the improvements, they added the ability to shoot HDR with Dolby Vision, which is you know apparently the only phone that can do this and basically lets you get this program cinematic looking effector or look. You could say with all of your videos at ten bits of it's like super high quality. It just looks really good. With the option to edit the colors and have really good cinematic looking video as well with the iphone twelve pro you there have this improved stabilization system that moves the sensor itself. So basically, in fact, you're getting something that feels and looks much more high quality than ever before, and again, this is somewhere where apple leads compared to every other phone manufacturer except maybe Samsung is pretty close. No one else does the ability to shoot video quality this well, and it's just every year. It just seems to be getting further and further away from other companies even like you. Google. Pixel phones that take really great photos Mike what did you make the event? You know my favorite thing that I saw this week was the mini, the small phone small phones in general are exciting to me. Our colleague Brian Barrett wrote this week that the arrival of the iphone twelve mini is a harbinger of good for the small phone community I think you know fabulous when they came out what was it like eight years ago or so we started seeing these gigantic phones and then. People really liked them and they started them in huge numbers. So phones just kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger. We've all been waiting for phones to get small again, phones have gotten smaller, but they haven't really gotten small enough, and now this year I think phones are starting to get just about small enough to satisfy the people who are looking for small phone I was out last week two weeks ago at A. Socially distanced event and I saw a guy with a Sony experience x to compact, which is like a really tiny. It's even smaller than the iphone mini android phone and I asked him about it. I went over to him six feet away and I said, Hey, what is that and he started going on and on about it and the way that he was talking about it was so passionate and I realize that. Like okay. You know what? There is a huge market. People are really really passionate about smartphones and people are GonNa flip when they see the mini I think coming until November So I, think for people who really want it. They're going to have to resist clicking that buy button for a couple of weeks

The Afternoon News with Kitty O'Neal
Bear Fire Renamed North Complex West Zone
"The bare fire in Butte County with reporter Mike Baka. Actually, they also are calling it the North complex West zone. Authorities air calling that but whatever you call it, it has been deadly. It has been a destructive Here's Mike. Yeah, well, what they're telling us now. 70,000 Acres 2000 structures destroyed. And, of course, the three deaths that were reported yesterday and Kitty, it really moved fast. In a westerly direction late Tuesday afternoon. Those those winds really pushed it from Plumas County Interview County and, of course, a lot of dry fuel when it made it dangerous. My quote of the firefighters been telling you that there's an unpredictability to it, which is kind of common for fires up here. And of course, we're very familiar, of course less than two years ago, the campfire Um, within about a 90 minute period yesterday, they were saying that it's moving in a northerly direction. Then they were saying northwesterly direction. Then they saw it shifted south, and that's Kind of commonplace right now they're saying it's moving. Suddenly ah little bit. They're still doing a lot of structure protection in the forest town area, Brush Creek, Feather Falls and the Lumpkin Ridge area. We know the firefighters are doing their job, but one can only suspect it's taking a toll. What's interesting is it's very dangerous to compare things to the campfire. But chief Gaddy yesterday that I never thought in my lifetime. I was something that would be similar in scope and how it moved. Like the campfire, and that's what they were telling me yesterday and they have been helped out by the weather. Today. They're very happy with what happened with the weather, lower temperatures and certainly helped. The winds are not gusting, but They thea unpredictability of it. Initially late Tuesday afternoon into the wee hours Wednesday morning, that's what really had them on edge. Yeah. Well, finally, I understand that we are getting help here in California from firefighters around the country and even the world Israel maybe Australia. Yes, and Chief Daddy again telling me the Suppression efforts, and the resource is have nearly doubled in the last 24 to 36 hours, which is great, which means the other fires around the state are not as bad and those resource is air now being shifted to this fire. Another interesting tidbit regarding this fire is the way they are mapping it. They're using Lake Oroville as a firebreak. So they are able now to put resource is in other places to protect structures. And if they have to, They're going to let that fire burn all the way down to the eastern portion. Eastern side. I should say of Lake Oroville and then protect structures and other areas. So it's weird to say this, but the topography which has always worked against Firefighters in Butte County. At times it's kind of helping them because of how big Lake Oroville is interesting. Well, Mike Baka, thank you so much for this report. Sure.

Rock N Roll Archaeology
This Meeting is Being Recorded
"Welcome back everybody thank you for tuning in. Again we've taken a couple weeks off in having recorded. WE'RE GONNA. Get. A little punk nibbles going here for you You know one of our short episodes GonNa be s a little bit. Talk about what's going on and we're going to kick this off with what are you listening? Sorry what are you listening to as an aspiring teacher? I should probably know how to speak correctly. Right So this is Aaron and I'm going to pass over to Mike and say Mike. What you've been listening to lately. Yeah Hey guys what's up? How you guys doing Pretty well, he did ask you a question, but I'm okay with just not answering just ignore the question they ignore the question completely and just see where this takes us. Yeah as someone who wants to be a teacher I should get used to that sort of thing. Yes. I'm just going to say Mike has been listening to Miley Ray Jepson. Because he really likes the way she sings and the fact that she uses words. Mouth Worm. So now we'll kick it over to. Jesse. Jesse what have you been listening to? Yeah. Have you heard of? Mandy Moore. But seriously. We actually have some news about the podcast, not not just what we've been listening to but. We recently joined. A network of podcasts called Pantheon podcasts were like pretty excited to be a part of this group. Pantheon podcasts is a conglomeration of sorts of that have been assembled of many different podcast specifically with the theme of Music, and there's tons of different podcasts that are on this network and we encourage you guys to A. Check out some of those folks that are on the. On the network with us there's quite a few shows on their own. We joined up with them recently and I've started familiarize myself with. A few of the podcasts on there there's a few that like I definitely listen to myself indefinitely enjoy Have you checked out any of those from Pantheon Mike Yeah Yeah I've been listening to some. It's pretty cool. So, what some of our listeners might see is our show will will show up in the Pantheon feet as well, and we kind of encourage you to Not only subscribe to our show so that you get new episodes as it comes out but also if you go the beyond. If you search pantheon on your podcast amp you'll find their feed, which like they put out a bunch of different episodes of a bunch of different shows and something new is on there every day So no matter what style of music you like there's something there that my interest you there's also some really deep kind of like music history shows on there that are like more investigatory kind of stuff. one I've really been enjoying is the show no filler. And maybe we can connect those guys at some point they seem to like some of the same music that we like. And the shows pretty cool because it takes a look at abandoned like maybe is known maybe he's not quite as known but bands that have had like a single that got out. But it goes back to the album from like singles have come out and digs until like one of those tracks between. And Goes Kinda deep until like some lyrics and and maybe over our story arc of full albums been I've been digging that lately they just had an episode of bit ago they had me without you. which I really like me without you and so the anti poetry and the mix genre of all. Of Digging There's there's quite a few that I've checked out at least a handful of episodes for but I mean there's so many podcasts on the network. You can't really listen to every single thing unless you're just listening at two times speed all day long but a couple that that I've already become a fan of there's one called. Make It stop which is called? The title of the subtitle is a bad music podcast where they specifically talking about music that they think is straight up bad and They've had some episodes around even bands that I don't necessarily hate in fact, the first episode ever heard they just bashed on the band creed. That's a band that I don't hate but it was it was still fun to hear them Bash on the bad music. They also feature some other bands like not future, but they talk about Imagine dragons they hit up Maroon five definitely nickel nickelback in all time an all time worse was that's called. Make It stop check out there? Pretty pretty cool over there, and there's just a few others that I've listened to to although make it stop is the most called a muses. A. Dad Bod, rap pod. Those guys are pretty sweet anyways. So, check out some of the other stuff of their pantheon everybody.

Tricia Lewis from Recovery Happy Hour Podcast
"So, I think maybe you guys may have heard of today's gassed. I mean you might know her from this podcast might be a little popular. I am so stoked to welcome Tricia Lewis onto addiction unlimited today. I'm so excited to have you here this so fine. Thank you so much for having me. It's so crazy to be on this side of the Mike Yeah Right. I've been in the middle of a launch and like doing all of these solo. Recording so much by myself. It feels a little weird. To be interviewing again on. Yeah, it's I. Never share my story on the show. I just like to share it. Help. People share their story, so it's rare that I get to talk about myself, yes. I get. So. Let's start with that. Why don't you tell the listeners a little bit about yourself who you are what you do and all that good stuff? Yeah, my name's Tricia Lewis and I host a podcast called recovery happy hour, and it's about its second birthday so it's it's going strong, and it's one of the most fulfilling things I've ever done. And I hosted a little event last year called sober by South West with my partner in that Endeavor Kris Marshall. And I got sober in twenty sixteen, so recovery has been a big part of my world for almost four years now. Nice I love that you love your podcast, too, because it is truly one of the pieces of my career that I'm the most proud of it's one of the things, absolutely the most proud of and I just turned two in April Yeah, we started right around the same time yet which I didn't realize until I talked to you when I was on your show, I knew realize that I think because I saw you so much on social media I just made the assumption that you had been around way longer. We'll happy birthday by the way if you celebrated too happy. Second Birthday to you. I just had my regular birthday, too. I just turned forty eight. We'll happy birthday twice. Them up today. That doesn't an interesting journey. Okay, so tell me what made you want to start a podcast? Like what was that thought process for you in your sobriety. That urged you to do that well. I started when I had been sober for two years sober. Something like that and. I was in a facebook accountability group, and with you know Gosh three hundred people, and there's a lot of newcomers in there, and at that point having two years felt like to some people, and and so I was just giving basic advice at anybody would give to their fellow person who's struggling and people kept saying well. When are you going to write the Book GonNa write a book I guess they liked what I had to say and to be honest I. Don't have the discipline to be a writer I'm so envious of people that do and I was like well. What's the best way for me to sort of you know? Give back and. and. Be of service. That doesn't involve writing, so it was a podcast that was that was what I wanted to do, and you know the thing about podcast. Is that so many of them are stories of what it's like? When somebody's drinking which serves a purpose, but I wanted to talk about. It's kind of like you know. I wanted to talk about what happens after what happens once you get sober and you're living your life without alcohol. What's next and so those are the stories that I focus on and You know everyone that comes on the show has to have at least a year of sobriety so that we've got enough to talk about. Yeah Yeah, I love that, too, because it is like I feel like the drunk part of the story is the least interesting part you know. What anyway, because so many of us do the same things Parts of our stories are similar. Some people drank worse than others of course. I definitely had more legal trouble than along. But I think you and I can both agree. The those stories are important, but then after a while you get kind of tired of them, and you want to hear something new. which again is another reason why? I don't really share my story on the podcast? It's not because I'm hiding. Anything is just because it's just not that interesting to me, yeah! Yeah, the recovery part's Res Way more interesting the is, it's been more fun really, and this is something. We've been talking about a lie in my facebook group in my membership site. Like Fun In sobriety. And what is

Bobby and Billy Dukes from Taste of Country
"Welcome to episode two forty nine, where at the end of this? Eddie Mighty and I will review the movie wall card. The Dewey Cox Story. It's an old movie, but it's a music movie. I never thought it'd be funny, so if you haven't seen the movie, you still might light. Listen to the review. Is We're we're kind of down? But if you haven't seen it and you WANNA watch, maybe go watch it. Then come back to the end of this podcast, but we're GONNA put it at the end. In case, there are spoilers to right Mike. Yeah a little bit. But that's not a movie doesn't matter if it's spoiled, it's not like some crazy indy. There's nothing you can really spoil it. Yeah, so check that out. CHECK THE MOVIE I! Also talked to Billy Dukes, coming out from taste of country on the top ten hottest artist, a twenty twenty kind of go through that bill, smart guy like him had a Montauk about that music headlines of the week. Live nation is trying to get artists to take pay cuts for concerts and festivals next year in a memo obtained by rolling stone live, nation sites, unprecedented times and quote the exponential release. Excuse me the exponential rise of certain costs as reasons for adjusting payment policies. That's interesting because they're going to have to pay a lot more. To make the make, sure things are safe and clean, yeah. Then they thought they would. Let me read more about this. Most of the new policies shift to financial burdens to the artist's. For example, the company wants to decrease the monetary guarantees promised to artists before and a bit twenty percent across the board. Live nation also says that if a concert is canceled due to poor ticket sales, it will give the artist twenty five percent of the guarantee. Well that's interesting. And I think I'll speak on this as also a performer I work with these promotion companies promoters all different ones I. think as long as books are shown. People can make wise decisions about business are doing together, and it's not that I don't trust live nation or an artist, but I would like to see if I'm someone that's has agreed to a tour or agreed to three or four shows even show I wanna see those costs, and why am I? GonNa take. Mine Down Twenty percent. The twenty five percent on the on the cancellation is great for an artist. Also, there's still get paid even if they don't sell tickets because people don't WanNa come. Twenty. They're guaranteed twenty bucks. They, probably a lower act would be guaranteed about ten to fifteen thousand. Unless it's a baby act on big tour there about five, five, thousand, seventy, five hundred. Lower. Ten to big acts are. Hundreds of thousands of dollars a night. So you're talking about. That's a nice little little. Give there. But that's interesting I never thought about the fact that it's going to cost more to put on shows. So I think as long as they show their books a little bit I don't know why artist would say no to that true. because. Everybody's GonNa lose some money here. Everybody, and no party, promoter or artist. Should benefit, and the other should suffer. You should kind of all being this together in a way. Interesting I didn't think about that some more. Maybe do a whole podcast on that that'd be the most boring podcasts ever open a book. Now the whole country is protesting. Rage against the machine is actually back on the charts. The band's self titled Debut. Album landed back on the billboard. It reached number eight on the I tunes top album charts as well. Yeah, do we have any rage I both them up? This is right in my gut from back in. High. School more so than college. I guess it was like ninth and tenth grade. I would have. Someone sent me a tape of the edge in Dallas. They'd hit record play and take an hour and the. An hour and I get a lot of rage and that. Was a big rage guy, but I didn't really know why I. Just like the sound I didn't really know. What they were protesting at the time by the time I started to know I started to get older and getting college, and they started to fall off a little bit. Do their own things. But now look back. Pretty cool. This is one of my favorites. What else do you have all right, so? We're limited in the range music. A CON has secured a six billion dollar contract to build a con city. A futuristic cryptocurrency theme city in Senegal. Along with having homes, malls and a power plant, a city all amenities. The city needs including schools in a police station pretty baller. Some people have buildings. Here's a whole city. Alex Super Futuristic. Does this ever actually happen. Though I don't know the guy who did smack that now has a city and see the king because he just. There's King Oh. Yeah, what because if he's not? He's still. The city is named after. And then if he does something really bad and his older life like commits a bad crime. That's a change the name of it because they don't want the name the city after so like you're not seeing any bill. cosby elementary schools still remaining in play. Now that he would do that, but I'm saying. You know. Commits. Fraud. Martha Stewart style. Do. You have to change the name of the city. Finally Dashboard confessional singer Chris. CARRABBA suffered severe injuries in a motorcycle accident. Luckily they weren't life threatening, and he expects to make a full recovery as watching the video of him in the hospital bed. You see it yet. Sad lookin'. Yeah, it looks pretty terrible. Motorcycles. Just never had the need to Yana on motorcycle. He's motorcycle guy though he looks cool riding motorcycle. Down Hilas here, oh! Oh, I've never seen him writing I just say like He. He's the kind of guy that will look cool. Riding motorcycles tattoos like the good face. We have those things tattoos in the face pretty good to go. But he's what happened to him. Do you know I don't know? He had a car car hit him. I don't even think that he hit anybody. I think he just fell rookie. Here's the one thing I've never acted motorcycle. Think. I've ever been on one driving me I. Never Motorcycle. Let's talk about new music before we get into this. I'm just really it's really weird about even building statues after people who are still alive. It's always a tricky thing because they do something. That's not so good they. Statue down. You want us to wait on your statue then. Yeah, okay. I personally don't, but like I wondered in my town. There's a sciences boy home. Bobby bonds if I do something bad and I go to jail. Do they rip that down I? Don't want that

Introducing Deep Dive After Hours with the Pro Group
"This is after hours and I'm joined by some incredible human beings and in case you're wondering what happens everybody. Like how do we get so big and diverse? Well this is a very unique group human beings we call them the pro members. And they're all here we. We just got back from Adobe Max and we're just continuing the content loved the livestream and we've just been producing so many things. I'm not going to introduce everybody. There's so many of you guys and is so great to see you. My only regret is that people who were who were here yesterday. No longer here. I mean they're still alive but there's just survive. This is after hours with the programmers and the pro members are basically people that are part part of our exclusive coaching community. There's two hundred eighty of US. And we run from all different. Sizes shapes. Want Solar Printer freelancer student. People have really multimillion dollar agencies part of it and it's just this community that makes what I think what we have so unique and precious so there's no agenda. We're just going to have a conversation we're GONNA go and there was like a robot voice thing that's okay so I think we're just kind of at the end of one conversation so this'll be the beginning of the next conversation. So what's hot? What's on your mind? Let's get. Let's get real conversation. Who WANTS TO START? I feel like there's been a lot of discussion people. That are already in a really good place with their business. But they can't see that they're in a good place and they're concerned about what's the next thing that have to do to make my business better versus just doing what's necessary to get more clients and I think I'd like for us to talk about that. Because this past week I've been learning so much from other people And seeing other people's work but hearing them say that I need to do this before I can get clients. I need to do this before I get climate. It's like do you not see how amazing what you're doing is already like. You're you're in a perfect position to already get clients. And maybe that's because I'm not inside the bottle as they say and I'm able to see their work for how great it is. So can we talk about that? We can there's this phenomenon that happens and on our walk back from tacos powerful voyeurs today. I should just turned to how do you? How do you do that so fast? Like how do you take me from here and bring me down here and she asked me this question and I had to think because you know still short walk? I was thinking because think most of us look at problems with a magnifying glass. We're up so close to or studying every single detail. We're studying everything that we can do. All the things that make us annoyed things that make us scared. And this is all we have to do is to gain some perspective. You've heard that expression before and I mean literally gains in perspective by stepping six eight ten twelve hundred feet back and looking at the problem from afar and I think that gives us context an example. I gave to her. Was If you're sitting there and you're waiting for a parking spot and you've been patiently waiting and somebody pulls out of that parking spot and you're about to go in and some a-hole some D. bag scoots in that gets it. You've got steam ears finding you lowlife key the car all these dark thoughts are going through my like. Why why are humans like? Why can't we treat each other with kindness and be generous? Why can't we do that? Some courtesy goes a long way. But that's you looking through the world through your eyes through that magnifying glass. But if you were just pop back a little bit maybe even just into the back seat and look at yourself looking at the situation and observe the witness to it. You might say okay. Here's a woman waiting for a parking spot. And somebody else may or may not have seen that. She was waiting and took an opportunity. Who knows but this woman has her health. Has a wonderful family is in a car that she owns. That's insured really. What is the big deal? There's another spot a few miles away and if we can get kind of perspective that distance I think it changes how we look at things. So Mo- you looking at anybody else here can see their problem so clearly. You're good enough or tweet this line or talk about a user benefit instead of talking about yourself. It's so clear and they can just as easily turnarounds. A Mo- is your problem. Here's your challenge and you need to overcome it. How do we do this ourselves? How do we get this kind of clarity? Now Ashes Ready. She's primed ahead a little coaster. Mike Yeah I like that metaphor icy now very clearly. I used to have that in my family values like you see very positively in every aspect of your life especially teaching. My kids are just we are alive. Today that's best blessings is what you should see him get up in the morning. Thankful you are alive today and you can get to do so many things but I was not implementing the same thing in my business. So today's session we. I was looking at a bigger problem where I want to reach. It was like hundred doors away from me just for that I was not taking. I was not dead it for the tenth door or I was not able to see that. I'm talented I have worked ready. And the canvas is ready to paint. I just need to go brush in hand and start painting Ed so I see that metaphor now from my personal life to how to implement in business and enhance when you told me that car parking exempt you thank you. You HAVE INCREDIBLE CLARITY. When it comes to your children you can see them and you know that if they just changed a little bit they will have more happiness and success and everything will work out but right when it comes back to us. It's like wait a minute. Different rules apply and now hopefully if nothing else. Try to insert a little pause between catalysts and reaction. Something mixture react. Just stop amid kind of observe. What's happening in your mind? And then you can choose how you want to react. Sorry I just wanted to jump in real quick. I was talking to Alex earlier. And he was talking about everything that he failed on and he was saying that his man I was following Chris. And the following moe in this is that referring to you and he's like and they're killing instagram and they're doing all these things and I'm sitting here and I'm struggling and I'm just falling behind. And he got super caught up in his failures and four second pause and he was like but then I thought about it he was doing so much other good stuff in other areas and have been so hard myself when it comes to this one specific thing and that's what a lot of us I feel I do. We get caught up in the bad because the good is so abundant because the good is the norm. Like we're you succeeding and we're used to Kinda having good days or at least average days but the bad sticks out so much because it's so rare that we don't really know how to cope with it and we give it a lot more attention than it should have An S. That was what he was saying to me earlier and he was like. I just took a step back and changed my perspective on it and was like I may have not one in this one area but at least it gives me a chance to go back and succeed again. And that's how cabin framing the things that we've been doing here even though we haven't done the best before is still gives us the chance to reframe and you know try again. I have a different take on that. I think that was excellent. Chris all done if you sit there and you replay the memories in your childhood and we did a lot of this yesterday and we created two columns. We're GONNA do the two column conversation again credit to columns and we asked ourselves how many times you remember the people who you love the most your parents who took care of you. How many times a day praise you for doing something right? I make a list. Just just follow through the thought experiment and then put that list away for second and then the second list ask yourself. How many times did they tell you you did something wrong. And Am pretty sure. That list is in multitude longer than the other lists so we've had a lot of training finding the things that are wrong. We've had not a lot of training in pointing out the things that are right in fact when you think that you've done something right. What is the response you get? Don't let that get your head getting too big for your Britches. Stay humble be
