"Is it possible? The chew will go into the theater with an open mind and think maybe it'll be okay. No, okay. No, don't go. That's that's that's known him. Mike why we should most of the audience you should've stopped at possible. You'll go in with an open mind, right? That's true. You should've known to ask that question. But I mean, no, there's a distinct sound here. That's the reason he's getting honored with his own bio pic, jitney, mail, login ID, and it's not the sound. I can't believe you guys aren't distracted by this on any level at all. You know, it I might not out and John s going to say I haven't seen it yet. So I'll I'll let you know after I see it. And I I to me that they wouldn't use Elton John's voice. But I I'm not that interested anyways, I like Elton John I'm not like huge fan. I like is. I like. I'm an Elton John fan. Like, I'm a Beatles fan. I don't like these types of pictures, though. I'd rather watch documentary on his life than on somewhat liberalized version of that too story. I mean, there's there's been great documentaries done on the Beatles in the past. For example, there's one that Malcolm McDowell narrates about twenty thirty years ago. That's really well done. For example. Could we give the movie credit for not being a comic book movie, not being a sequel? I mean sure every single movie with a handful of exceptions this summer is either a comic book movie or a sequel. All right. So I this list of films. You wanna talk about Trump rump against a break here in a couple of minutes. I was fine. With your list is one of them not hurt of there's a glaring omission on your list, though. Of course, there is how is the God Zillah moving on your list because it's God's element. That is one. I think it's I think it's got one the idea of bringing in all of the of the monsters. Are you kidding me? You're not you're not the least interested in at least with Mike a little bit. And they how is God Zillah at this to this point not been done. Well, it's been done badly. So many times skeptical. Okay. I'd like it to be great because we've been great fun. But I'm scared. I mentioned that all the other monsters are in this. Yeah. You did how if they're all giant monsters fighting. How's that? How's that going to pot? Did you see Peter Jackson's King Kong because that sucked? But there wasn't a lot of giant monsters fighting. There was three hours of standing on deck and talking if it was ninety minutes of King Kong giant monsters that would have been clue who are the jam do. Get mothra authors in the flaw throw. Yeah. Yeah. That's the only monster. I know. So yeah. I mean, I I kind of love the setup to with God Zillah as we're essentially godzillas, basically, the green lantern of this earth, basically got to protect us from these other invaders. I like that setup speaking bad movies. Glenn Beck and his friends started a new company years ago called real estate agents I trust. And the reason they did it is because they kept running into real estate agents. We talked a good game. But then couldn't deliver the results they promised when needed the most. If you're looking for a real estate agent and it is prime buying and shopping season..

"We just want your body's. Yes. Yes. And they gave him a war. It's said thank you for crushing us. All right. Then I'm watching the new twilight zone in the very first episode is an immigrant comedian who the devil tells him. You're no one cares about your politics. It's not funny. Okay. No, one cares about your anti-trump politics. It's. Funny. No one wants to watch. And then there's this movie that literally has dead is about I don't know what it's about. I seriously wonder if the movie's a troll, and if and if peel is like dude, these white reviewers wanna like a black film director, so bad. We will literally just put hot trash on the screen. It's it's black on black. It's d'appel ganger. It has got seventeen things going on at once. And none of them ever converge in a one story, and we're just gonna put it all up there, and you watch this thing's going to be like ninety five percent on rotten tomatoes. See I wonder if they did this on purpose? I was hoping you were going to explain this film to me because we've got hands across America. What it is. I have no idea what's going on. I did enjoy it. All right. I hate thought it was woman. I thought it was hot trash, so we're off this segment is that's the same as it's always been all these years, you're wrong. And I'm right, or maybe you know, I like your plan. But it sucks. Let's go with mine. Right. Yeah. All right. So the summer. Season. I mentioned this earlier it is beginning earlier and earlier. It used to be Memorial Day weekend was the kickoff. Right. And then except when the Star Wars film would come out every three years, and then it would be that second weekend in may. And then the same Ramey. Spiderman movies started coming out that first weekend in may. And that's when marvel started when they started their cinematic universe. That's when they started releasing their movies as well. And now it's the last weekend in April with the summer movie season, which begins of course, with the movie that opens tonight that is going to be the biggest, and I think when we adjusted for inflation. It will be the biggest box office moving. I don't like I don't care about today's dollars. What you make? I was look at the adjusted for inflation numbers. I think you're looking at a movie that when adjusted for inflation is it could very well end up being the number one movie of all time. It opens tonight. Let's take a look. Thousand years ago. Fought cave came man. Up to you. Surprises. But really hoping to pull off one last one. The wildest. None of. We do his best. Sometimes the best we can do. Holy people die. Killing everybody. They shouldn't. Some. Amount us. Even if there's a small chance we owe this. Everyone is not in this to try. We will. Whatever it takes. Six. Takes. Whatever it takes. Anyway, anyway. This movie sucks. Anyway. Not a chance. I mean, you look at the track record of the Russo's..

"The Kentucky big boy Brown, Nick, Luke Brown. And just kind of depending on what region he was wrestling and at the time so that was before Vince McMahon consolidated all the regions Russell, Vince, dad in Madison Square Garden, so yeah, it was before that I used to love pro wrestling Carl. But I thought it was real. It is real people. Did this is scripted? It is real. I mean, they're real actions. Have until everybody. The injuries are real my dad when he finally got out of the businesses shoulder was destroyed. He lost his kidneys spleen. He lost. His body was destroyed the injuries are real. But the endings were predetermined. So that's kind of. So you have a bit of a brawler background. You don't you don't mind provocation. You don't mind confrontation. You know, the right kind of groceries and natural habitat for that. Right, right reasons. Man. I again when you when you grow up in that environment. Yeah. You kind of see that stuff. But when I became I I didn't become a Christian till I was twenty six raised around the church. I knew into stand up sit down. Neil. I knew in the offering plate was coming. I call it. You know, Catholic light without the guilt that was raised Lutheran. And and and I just, but I didn't know God. And I didn't understand the bible at all. I didn't trust it at all. Once I got saved and challenged me to really look at these things and understand why I believe what I said, I believe that's where the real growth came and the transition to debunk, really. Credit to because of my relationship with Bob the co creator of debunked. He's got that same attitude as me and gave me freedom to hey, we can have fun with this as a Christian. We can have fun. We can challenge people to think and that'd be disrespectful or me. I don't think we're that. I think we just want to challenge. People to think, what do you think is you've done this all over the world. How many countries eventually to go to all my goodness over? Over fifteen twenty K. What when I see things like, you know, there's there's a video I shared on my Twitter account today. A girls high school track mate and two boys? I believe have mental illness on gender dis fauria is a mental illness. Okay. Shouldn't be encouraged. It should be treated. Okay. And so two boys are seen in this video who want to identify girls. They're just dusting these girls in this. They're just made with more muscle fibers things of that nature. These girls can't compete they destroy them. Yes. And I see this video. And and when this topic is come up on our show in the past. I've brought this up that I where I cannot believe the dads are all just sitting there while their daughters are getting smeared like this. I just I I'm I'm flabbergasted like, I would have expected the opposite would happen. We'd have to go to the guys and say, hey, you understand you can't be vigilante out there. But but now they're like so dough silo there's like no pushback on any level. We when when when we had the story about Matt Lauer NBC news, literally turned his office into a rape dungeon, the lack of a better description. I and I said this at the time on our show. No janitor. No, no, nobody saw woman crying out of his office and said hell, no, I'm not gonna put up someone's going to do something about that. And I've described that as like death of the west kind of stuff having been all over the world. Do you see the spiritual temperature globally is down? Or are we dying in the west compared to what you see across the globe. That's a really good question. And I honestly think that we are dying in the west because when we get like, my buddy, one one bell does our other speaker don't laugh it's as real name, and he doesn't do coffee at one is down in Columbia three times already this year, Dominican Republic Costa Rica, it's exploding. Steve I mean exploding eighteen hundred kids he just poked a youth conference St. as in Columbia eighteen hundred kids came and they're hungry..

"Joe Biden's paths to the presidency is to win the democratic nomination by saying I ne- adult the room I'm gonna run against Donald Trump right now, you guys can go over here. And have your intersection -ality Olympics on your own time. And largely ignore all of that. Even when they come at him in debates, just largely ignore it. Because this to the two things job. I if I running against Joe Biden, the democratic primary and this goes for everybody other than Bernie Sanders. He's doing his own thing over here. Similar to Trump in the last cycle. He has a base that largely exist outside of the typical democratic voter electric. But. If I were running against Joe Biden, I would just run on a simple message. He was Brock Obama's under study for eight years and Brock Obama has an endorsed him. Why should you? Now, the obvious follow up to that is what happens when when if Obama endorses them, we got nothing to lose. Anyway. Because if Obama endorses it's over it's over for every candidate in this field except for Bernie Sanders over overnight C Muslim play the advantage while you have it. You know what I'm saying? Don't don't, you know, don't worry about a disadvantage, you may have later that you cannot control that is that is more a mortal wound if it happens anyway, all these candidates, but Bernie Sanders are done and three three seconds. After if in win Obama endorses Biden, do we agree on that? Yes. I think that's pretty close to then. Then then you might as well play the the why hasn't Obama endorsed him card now. That's what I would do. That. That's that's the only message. I would go with is. I don't if Obama won't even door some why should you? And I just stick with that. Because if in winnow palm dozen dourson, you won't be able to beat him. Anyway, unless you're Bernie Sanders at that point. But I don't think Obama is going to endorse. Not for a while. Now for a what not until not until or unless it gets down to him. And Bernie Sanders, then I do think you'll see Obama endorse. But I don't think you're gonna see Obama come over the top rope over all these other minority candidates. I don't think that at all. He's he he can't get unity in his own world about which of these minority candidates. They all like the most. So he's gonna he's gonna let Joe he's gonna make Joe Biden do the initial groundwork. And Joe Biden's deputy campaign manager saying today that he asked Obama not to endorse him. Yeah. I I I asked a coal Kidman not to ask me out too. Because I just I didn't wanna make it easy for myself. I mean, that's a stupid. No one believes that no one no sentient life form on any class m planet believes Joe Biden called Brock Obama up and said, hey, can you just kinda sit this one out? Stephen fairness to Joe by Nyack you to hold off on paying me. You know, a pretty regularly. Right. Exactly. So what you see with with with Biden's announcement video is exactly why I believe he would be the by far the sternest test for Donald Trump in a general election because he understands in America that most of us do wanna live together, despite our political differences..

Couldn't have gotten on the air for free. There weren't any minority. Other minority candidates. Couldn't have put Peter Buttigieg on there. You could have put comma Harris on their. Who is it Marianne Williamson trying to remember all their candidate? Because there's literally twenty now with Biden in the race get into that here in a second. But why even in congress? He's taking up a seat in congress that could go to a woman that could go to a minority. His his owning a seat in congress is an inherent example, a bias. So so why is even congress? They don't believe any of these things. They're all is. And they're all being told. Maybe the only thing Tom Perez said or the only thing true that was said in that entire montage was the from the DNC chair Tom Perez 'cause I can promise you no matter who gets elected Moore, lying and stealing and cheating is going to happen. And that was true, no matter who got in the last election, and in the election before that and the election before that and the election after this and the election coming up after that one. All right revival bust. It's just a matter of of are they lying cheating and stealing in a way. That does you the least amount of harm. Let's not let's not pretend anything roic is happening. Here is top likes to say nothing aspirational is occurring. Aim. So let's just let's just be dolts. Okay. Rawal adults here. Let's just keep it real. We don't lie to each other on this show. All right, nothing aspirated aerobic is taking place the lying cheating and stealing is going to continue. No matter who it's and no matter who won the last election in the one before that and the wants to come. Unless we see revival in our country the best we can hope for. Is that? Hey, that's our liar. It's sports talk radio. Yeah. I mean, I know my quarterback, you know, likes to slap his girlfriend around. But it's McCain. That's my quarterback. That's the best. We can hope for at this point. Okay. So Mr. swallow really believed what he is spewing forth in that clip. Why is he running? Why was he on television? Why does he even have a seat in congress everything he does as white male by his own claimed ideology, everything that he does or has to his benefit takes away from someone else..

I love the trailer. The cast is good. Yeah, I love to Jack black Cate Blanchett I like about cable. The movie to me. It looks like from from remembering the book is from my childhood. When I was a kid, there was like a after school special with Vincent Price. Okay. Where he did like junior versions of three prominent. You know, scary stories. Yeah, that were child friendly and sleepy hollow was one of them. And one of the one of the stories you can find this actually on YouTube. I found several years ago I was in the city, the original, the original broadcast from the seventies is on YouTube and one of the presentations they do is the house with a clock in its. Yeah. What's the third one. It's about a girl ghost and I can't remember what it's called. Boy falls in love with the girl goes to camera, but it's called. But in Aaron, I am surprised. You did not demand that we mentioned the new Harry Potter film. There's a new Harry Potter film, the crimes of Griswold. I didn't even watch the the first. The first see the first fantastic beef anti. It's it's not Harry Potter kind of like the Han solo movie based on what I've heard of that. It's like just to make a point, I'm going to go out of my way to not watch that movie, some great special effects. I love the love. Eddie Redmond, don't if I didn't know what I didn't know what his character's name was until he left the theater because I couldn't understand a word. He said the whole time, just bad debt. That's very, she's playing Mary Queen of actress. Good actors. So basically this movies about Bloody Mary. Yeah, I'm in. It looks. It looks really. I've never heard of this movie either. Ben is back with Julia Roberts. This is Peter had just who's from Des Moines, his son, Lucas hedges was in the Casey Affleck fell Manchester by the sea que did you see that? I did not. I tried it and it was. It was it was novacaine. So his son Lucas who's a very talented actor plays a the son of Julia Roberts. He's an addict and they're having some family strife. It's going to be very, very intense, and then December nineteenth, Mary Poppins returns. This is it for me, family blunt. I'm in, I'm there. There's a couple of movies. There's more than a couple on here. I am surprised or not on your list. Okay, of course, Kay. How is not on your list. He knew you'd bring it up anyways. I, the trailer looks good. I was impressed. I had very low spectator. This movie slightly hesitant towards that film. Yeah, me too. Okay. How how is. The the nutcracker film that Disney's putting out this Christmas on the list because I had boys. Okay, that's good. Is good answer twenty seven and twenty true gender is fluid. Nice, nice play. What about the the new grits with not a chance? What's his face who's playing the Grinch now than, oh, Sherlock doctor, strange. Oh, Benedict, Jim is is the Grinch now did we need a new? Why are we doing that? I, you know, we're doing that because other than Jurassic Park movies, do you know what the highest grossing universal film. The twenty th century is a live action Grinch with Jim Carrey was horrible. That's their top two properties was the Grinch with j. with Jim Carey and dress park movies selling my universal stock right now. And then there was something else I was gonna ask you about Peter Jackson's got the mortal instruments. Have you seen that one yet? I don't even know what to think about that. Do I that it looks like it looks so it was when I watched the trailer. I thought Peter Jackson body had been inhabited by Luc Besson as what I thought it looked like. The fifth is not no. The fifth element Lord of the rings right. Just like what is going on here? I felt like I was one of those Chevy car ads. One is happening. That's what I felt like when I watched that trailer just referenced a front actor. I've seen the fidelity, you know, I hate that movie. I hate it. Great movie. I hate that movie, lupus. All I hate that too. Terrible. I can't stand that movie. It is so overtly French, I can't stand it. I did just watch his last one, the sci-fi one with aiming. I just watched it. Oh, yeah. With the two whose brother and sister, they're boyfriend, girlfriend, married bad. It's kind of interesting. It's got some great visuals. Yeah, but it's he's kinda known for those great visuals. "And you are going out of your way to say, we don't want to be that we don't want to be something that Americans liked by doing something it. This isn't like some side thing. This is this is clear the clear iconic moment. If you just be honest with me, don't tell me about world team. It's tell me what had the courage to tell me. You just wanted to stick the middle finger at America and everybody who believes in the best that the flag stands for. That's what sick, at least, at least at least oppose me. Honestly, I'm the patronizing aspect of it. I got no respect for that. I have none. At least and cabinet comes out me honestly, at least Colin Kaepernick gave up, gave up his job in the NFL for what he believed that some level of respect for that. This is beyond disingenuous. This is this is this is on top of. Posing me, you're patronizing me and I'll be damned if I'm paying for that. Go see it and I'll send you Email day you now this next film. I am fascinated by the setup to it. Oh, yeah, because I love the way they have the now. They're kind of pretending. You know that like they did with the kind of pretending that the all the other Halloween movies after the first two John carpenter wants whenever made. Right. All right. And so this is the Halloween reboot that Jamie Lee Curtis is in and she's basically a gun toting grandma that has been she from other that has been preparing yourself for the day. Michael gets out. Yeah, right. I'm kinda. So this is kind of death wish meets slasher horrid away, right? Where she's basically Charles Bronson you know. So I'm kind of fascinated by somebody seventy a copy of the trailer because I had not seen the trailer yet in holy cow, my office and I'm scared, yes, she's kind of lock and load her kid. Her grandkids thinks she's nuts, you know, and she's like, I got my second amendment, Michael bringin we come at me bro. I'm like, kind of in on this. Have you seen this trailer yet? No, not interesting. This this set up kind of interested in. This is a great. The original is great horned bohemian rhapsody about. Freddie Mercury, holy cow driller to this is insanely good, really good. They're already talking that this Malik guy's going to get an Oscar nomination that he's, you know, he's that good. He looks just like him. Yeah, has the mannerisms down and I think there's there's been enough time and I don't think everybody's really familiar with the story. So I think I think this is going to be especially with the music. It's going to be big death. Front runner, Hugh Jackson as Gary Hart. Why did we need this movie? Because Hugh Jackman, I should say, Gary Hart. Why did we need this movie ho says you Jackson was going that you did actually, but but why did we need this thing? What's the morality? What's unique about this? I don't know. Other than a guy, Seaney guy, daring the media on not having an affair follow me so they do and then they find him having an affair blows. The presidency is right. And you know, maybe they're going to go back to a simpler time. When it was okay to have an affair and then lose your job naive, just having a and just go on. Number Jason, Reitman make some good moves. He does. I agree. This next one, the trailer in this movie all it's it's something the trailer. The trailer of this movie is a force of nature, particularly the opening minute of it, right? You know part I'm talking about, yeah. Okay. The girl in the spider's web is this related to the girl in the dragon tattoo from the same was an original three bucks. The author of those three books died actually before they were released. So this is the fourth book because they've got another guy that the state has okayed and he's written, I think, two books. Now this is the first of those new books. Okay. The this trailer. The opening minute of this trailer is a wow, Lisbeth salon ner this. She is a bad do have you guys seen this trailer yet? No, I do know that Claire foyer moves from the crown, which was which she was in a movie..

"So he's not so who's who's playing the cougar circuit because he can't do the Luke Bryan right kind of country music that's popular today, right? But they said that his, he's got an amazing voice. Everybody was shocked. And then lady Gaga is somebody that he kind of fines high discovers. Okay. Okay. I man on October the twelfth. Yeah, this is Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong redeeming with the director of LaLa land. I'm going to be very fascinated to see this film's box office because I'm out. I won't see it to me. I don't. I don't need you to agree with what I believe. But when you start to why wouldn't go see a Dan Brown movie about the Davinci code when you start jacking with beliefs that don't belong to you unnecessarily, you know it was the it was the American taxpayer. Are we gonna American military the flag? Yeah, it was the American people that put all of the effort into that human chievements. Nobody else did we did and to remove that flag to me is is you don't have a problem with superman, not saying the American way anymore. He's a global figure. All right, but this is a uniquely American moment in human history. And the only reason you would. Remove that is to troll me, and that's why I'm simply just not gonna participate. If we take that out, Steve dais troll me particularly, but people like me around the country. And let's also be honest. If Hillary Clinton was president today, they wouldn't have taken that American flag out. So don't pee on me and tell me it's raining. Have they explained why they did? Yeah, because they wanted this to be recognized as global achievement. Well, that's ridiculous. It's ridiculous. Nobody else did this. We can't change history. I agrees history. They apparently think that they can. So they're not getting my money. That's the number it goes. It goes beyond to this. This is what they do all the time. I mean, they are constantly. The people like the directors, the actors now, explaining it, they think they have license. This goes beyond their bullets, and this is this cultural Marxist agitprop is what this this is. Gonna write down. I'll look it up a liberal who started the space program that launched the man going to the moon. All right. It was a liberal who it was a liberal, Richard Nixon president estates for six months. When Armstrong landed on the moon, he'd have a damn thing to do with this. Okay, this is this is modern progressive culturally Marxist agitprop. This is this is these are the people that if you don't want to subsidize sex-change operations for US military soldiers who want to castrate themselves, you're a bigot who hate peop- that hates people. That's what this is. This is beyond our traditional conservative liberal political disagreement. This is I'm going to take your symbolism. They used to transcend our political disagreements. I'm guessing they're all kinds of people huddled around the around the television set on July twenty. Or whatever it was nineteen sixty-nine regardless of whether they voted for Humphrey or Nixon last election and probably said what God bless America. I'm proud of my country. Right. Well, there's protests everything else going on in the streets. Probably pretty much regardless what you thought about the protests in the counterculture. Everybody stood around that moment right then and there had pride in their country, right? Yeah. Well, we have a new generation of leftists that doesn't want that to happen anymore, and they essentially want their kind of class and wanna tear down everything that we've Allieu under stocking to participate in it. If you want to. If you wanted to take vailed shots at Donald Trump in your script, I don't care. But when you take the most iconic moment, that is the Coleman of this and remove it. Then you know what other people wanna pay for that. You're welcome to do it. I'm not going to out. I don't think it's going to have huge box office. It's not a movie designed for huge box office. LaLa land did not have huge box accidentally won the Oscar and then didn't win the Oscar, but the right stuff in nineteen eighty-two was designed to be yes, huge. It was over three box success. It was nominated for best. This is nominated. This movie is we talked earlier about as as the beside what this beat, the b side, that kind of a miser..

"Let's go through these quickly. Right? All right. So my wife is really looking forward to this first one on the list probably because it's about a mom avenging her family. First off I sent this list the other day and what's the response I get. Yeah, it looks. It looks weak. It looks now it wasn't week. It was like abysmal or some horrible thing. I'll loan whatever I said, I don't recall, but yeah, it looks. All right. This movie's called peppermint starring Jennifer garner, yes. She essentially is playing the forty year forty year old version of she played in alias basically, but it's directed by the guy that did taken. So you know, it's going to get ramped up. I thought the trailer. This was kind of cool. I'm shocked though. There's another movie coming out this Friday. You didn't put on the list. I cannot believe it didn't. You didn't put it on even seen the complete list of the movies opening. They none is not on your list. I'm not going to see them the prequel to the conjuring which you and I both agree might be the greatest modern horse series not going why it just looks. It looks. It looks. I don't wanna see that. Wow. I was shocked on your to Catholic school. Right. I've seen hor scared by enough nuts. Don't need that. Are in there done that. This is one of the next one on your list. Movie. I just wanna come out so they will stop playing the trailer. Okay. I haven't seen the trailer. Oh my gosh. There's two things that out at the movies that are driving me nuts right now. One is the trailer of this film and the other is that diet coke ad where the chick says you, whatever it is you do you and every time I yell out every time I did it again yesterday every time I yell out, what if you suck? Okay night everybody. Should you know what everybody in prison right now thought ushers massing in the back of the room, get this white boy, Rick. All right now I do love the line in the trailer when he shows up at the club and the black guy introduces them to the other black gang members and said, this is Ricky he white. I love that line. But out side of that, tell me why this movie is on your list. Tell me what because it's intense and it's got Matthew mcconaughey and then and I love me some Matthew mcconaughey. Okay, agreed. I do like the line, whereas kid says, why don't we ever why we ever Detroit dad? And he looks says, does a leave the Seren Getty good wine, but I'm looking for to this movie coming out so they will stop airing the trailer at the next on your list, the sisters, brothers, I just saw the trailer for this for the first time yesterday, this is John C, Reilly j. Jillian hall, Jay Jilin hall, Joaquin, Phoenix, there's a western. Yeah, he played contract killers. Yes. On the old west, you think it's going to be a little intense. I mean, you look at Johnny rallying think it's going to be funny, write funny. It sounds like a buddy movie. When you say. Get in Joaquin, Phoenix things get weird, really. Three really Dr creamy goes on acid or something. What I'm expecting the old man and the gun. I have not heard of this movie. This is Robert Redford Phil asked movie. He said, I'm done. He made direct film later, but he's done as far as in front of the camera. Look at the cast sissies basic, Casey, Affleck tomboy who he did. He did. He harass anybody, any female cast mates. I don't think so. Okay. Now I might have grass says he's space, but at this point she might have created that. But it's based on true story about this old man who just he went out and he robbed seventeen banks. He was arrested seventeen times. He went to jail seventeen times and he escaped seventeen. So this is true story, true story..

"So they could give everybody that it is in terms of degree of difficulty. I'm sure they will be a better movie. I will see between now and the end of the year, but none that went into it with the degree of difficulty that this one had and they nailed it and they nailed it landing. I think it is. Probably I still feel the wonder woman was a an absolute grateful. You know, we all love wonder woman. Well, Aaron has seen it yet, but I love it. I love it. Telecity, but I digress. Erin hasn't seen eah. Yeah, Aaron have year and a half, and Aaron hasn't seen Rudy, but what's. I'm out. If I drop the mic, I don't even know. I haven't even taken the time to Google what it is we we, we are. We are. That is a dude code violation. Not seen if you're above twelve years old and having see Rudy, that is a code vise dark in the cave. Oh, man. Get his Cape canings are the are know we're done talking to. Okay. Would you say it's a? Is it a top ten movie even on your list? Because I would say something this year up to this point. Okay. Agreement because you could say that, I think, yeah, I think it is probably with wonder woman, you know, one two best comic book movies ever like. I think I think I agree with you. That is like, I think I think a quiet places a better movie than searching for example. But. I went above with searching because they try of the what What they. they. I think I think I will see at least one or two movies better than Infinity wore the next few months. But the degree of difficulty the hill they had to climb. I mean, the task they took on was damn near impossible and they exceeded everybody's experts went into that movie and I told people outright, here's the deal too many characters, too. Many story writes, it's not gonna work. Right, and it was almost flawless. Agreed. All right. We should end this now. Yeah, we should just leave a lot. Let's go until we haven't been together in a while. We kind of miss each other. It's just cut. No, we don't cut the show off early. We'll go rent. Rhody will pop some corn. I still I, what can somebody filming? What is Rudy about? I kind of gathered from context. True story of Dan Rooney's curling whose Dame is he walk ice to interview used to come on the show, the cubs. He's come on the show all the time. And you wanna know true story. I told the toll Todd this the other day, I don't think he believes me. I am the guy that told Rudy Ruediger that Frank, Dan Devine died. I told him really? Yeah, because I'm sitting over there at the ballpark when Dan Devine die and we had had, I think it was through Gartner or somebody there. I was able to get Rudy on the show a few times somebody there at the I cubs knew him. Okay. And so I had a cell number and I thought there's no way everybody in the world is gonna wanna talk them today. There's no way I'm going to get him on, but you know me you had not because you asked not, I'll I'll ask for anything. All he can tell me is. No, I have no pride. I don't mind reject up is phone. I picked. He picked it up. So what did he do when you told him that he had no idea that the Dan goes? Are you realize said yeah, he just died. He was, I got. I gotta go, I'm sorry. Yeah, that's true story. That's really Ruediger Aaron. Famous walk on Notre Dame whose life dream was to play football at Notre Dame, and he walked his way on and he actually got in for like three plays. At the end of his senior season and the movie may or may not be like. Gone exactly like that, but the movie is it's it is. It's one of the movies that we agree as guys is acceptable to cry at the end of, right. Okay. Oh, I cry before the end because I cry in the tunnel when his buddy grabs him down. Starting to tear. Yeah, that's a great movie. I've seen remember the titans that count now. That's a good one. Yes. Good Disney film. All right. So fall is here. Yes, it is to fifteen movies that you want us to anticipate for the next few months..

"That is a grad is a scene wil will never leave. I'm going to be fascinated if you think I'm way over blowing this movie, but you know the next one on my list. You know what I like when you try something new right. Several years ago, there was a romantic comedy call was fifty days of summer five hundred to five hundred, and I didn't think it was that great of a movie, but I put it on my top ten list at the end of the year. 'cause they tried something different. I just wanted to give him props for it. Right? Yeah. Okay. I couldn't remember the title, but yes, I have searching number three on my list. Searching. Have you seen this one yet? I don't think I have. So it's, oh, it's the new mister Sulu what's his name? John, Chow Chow thank you. He plays a father whose he's a single dad, and I don't wanna blow the plot of why he's a single dad. Okay. He's a single father who the whole film takes place online, the whole film. Oh, this is the one. Wouldn't it shot on an iphone? Yes. In the whole film takes place online and his teenage daughter is missing. And so the interactions he has with the police are on Skype or FaceTime, you know you watch him. This is your number two number three. I haven't number three. Okay. It is. It is brilliantly executed. It's only showing here in town by the way, the Jordan creek nowhere else into the theater has. Okay. So it's kind of a limited release thing, but. If I watched it again. Put it. The film is the sixth sense. And when you see it and you see how it ends, you'll recognize why compared to the six cents because you'll have seen the signs of what what's really going on here when you reverse engineer at once you know the outcome, you would have been like, oh, why did I pick up on that? Right? So the film is sort of the sixth cents meets social media, highly would recommend it highly recommend. It's very, very well done, and it's a ridge. It'll on my phone since he shot it on his phone maybe for eight ninety. Nine. I don't know. Wow, you haven't seen this one yet? No, you gotta get. I don't go out that way. Another inside joke. Yeah, nice. When you finally come out to the slums of the suburbs, let me know what you think. Okay. I will. Number two, I have Sicario day of sold out number two. Now I can't do that. No, it was good, but it's it's not half the movie. The first one, really. I thought it was much better than I really missed. Emily blunt. I would normally miss Emily blunt renames out of a phone book brother. Okay. Yeah. I mean, I like the quiet. Can I can almost do almost anything I can almost do probably, but Josh Brolin and you know, I don't like sealed Il Toro you know, I don't like him because I can't understand what he talks. You mumbles. He mumbles everything. They're they're so good in this movie does such a great job of depicting the political scenario. I think it is a masterpiece love it. I, I missed her because she kind of was the moral center right between these two ALPHA's. Otherwise it was just two guys trying to do guy stuff this see. I didn't think that at all. I think it's great. That's why haven't number two. Okay. And my number one, you can probably guess what I have never have no idea. I've Infinity number one. I think I think I think the Russo brothers pulled off the greatest achievement in cinematic history here before you scoff. Here's why. Here's why. Here's why they had. Take fourteen films made by about nine or ten different directors. And they had to this is not. This is not Peter Jackson, completing a university built right. This is not George Lucas completing a university built. They had to take other people's handiwork other people's nuances character creation, and they had to mold it into one cohesive story, and then they do it while creating a villain that you could believe was was a threat of the magnitude that he was, and I just washed it again, the other day, the pacing is perfect. It never drags. Everybody gets their highlight and it's never like contrived moment though the chemistry in the way they paired them off..

"Okay. Like I don't wanna spoil too much of it when what you think it is turns out to not be what it is when you see it? My wife. I mean, Amy are looked at each other. Our did not see that coming and her her, our jaws just kind of drought, you know, and that's when the film really goes to a totally different, totally different gear. SU SU wouldn't go see it. It's good. You're on edge. The whole. I don't know. I don't know when you saw it, but like the way the sound editing is done. Everything about the film puts you on edge. Yeah, the way the sound editing is done where you're hearing sounds have singular sounds that have far away speakers and I felt myself like looking around as somebody you know, walking around and you realize that's the movie. Everything about the movie is designed to put you on edge and you don't get off edge until you walk out of that. Yes, I agree. I agree. Number four, ram number four. I think these two are similar. They just have different approaches, but they're very much the same story. How, how an individual family confronts evil. I have a quiet place. Number four. It'll be higher on my list you list. Yeah, it is a great film. I mean, I agree. It's a great they have done with this movie. I mean, they have released a silent film for all intents and purposes. This is a silent film. There's not much dialogue at all. And even to the point where if somebody's eating popcorn in the theater, they had like people taken out of the theater because they were arguing about somebody making popcorn noise what I love about the movie to is is they don't make these too much anymore. It's a movie that truly has some scares and truly has some thrills and provided your little wins can handle it. Definitely at the very least twelve and up are fine seeing this movie? Yes, they don't make a lot of these kinds of movies anymore, but they do a pretty good job of not showing you what you shouldn't see. No, no, what's going on, but yet I seen in the movie, yes, you know, you're in for something different another another. Film, who's the moral message is pretty profound. We see them pray around the table. It's very clear that traditional gender roles are what makes the family strong mom is the momma bear in the nurture. Dad is the defender, the provider, and the protector and these things are. So they're not even subtle in the film. They go out of their way to accentuate these roles and it's and it's the fact that they embrace these roles. When you watch the film, it's the fact they embrace these roles that are allow them to keep surviving up against this menace. But when she's in that Matt..

"I mean, all committed suicide or were captured or killed, and this just kinda walks away and for years nobody knew where he was that fascinate fifteen years later. And there's this. Pocket of Nazism there in heiress and were several of them have relocated Argentina. Number six. I had the incredible too. Better than the, I thought it was better than the first. Yes. You thought it was better than the first at you know, but I thought it was excellent. I thought it was. I don't think it was better than I thought it was excellent. I thought the story was better. Did you better? It's really good though. It's really good it. I don't know that it's worth. We waited fifteen years for that movie, but it's really good. I'm just a big. It won't take as long. I think it's just seemed important that the makers of that movie instead of just well, they waited a long time, so it obviously wasn't like ice age, five or something. It wasn't just for the buck, but it was important even though they knew it was gonna make big buck meta what it was really important that they stay true to themselves and what they tried to accomplish in that first movie you could tell and much like in. We talked about the politics of Black Panther much like its predecessor. This movie is overtly conservative. I mean, the villain of the film is the angry feminist who is upset at our capitalistic brother who believes in America Crecy. And what's the, what's the debate that the Ma, the incredible mom and her have in the data sister. We could have been friends if not. For your core value? Yeah, if your core values corvette, that's right in the script. Yeah, it's an overtly conservative movie number five hereditary. Hereditary. Remind me this is the movie. I'm trying not to spoil it. This is the movie about the family that gets caught up in the satanic cult. Okay. What's your favorite Toni cassettes cassettes cassettes. Yeah, here's a Casella Saturday. Colette cola Toni Collette yes. Yeah. Have you seen this one you thing? I think it's freaking great. It is so creepy. I agree. It is while it is creepy all the way. And when you think it's gotten to the end of creepy. I agree. It gets croupier. What I think is the most powerful part of the movie is actually would a lot of people think is the lamest which is the end I disagree. Here's why. The film does an incredible display of how evil operates and works the way it's finds the entry point into the family and then just Burrows. It's way deeper and deeper and deeper. The way it looks. It's the prettiest Knicks are always the most poisonous, right and it. And then finally the when it reveals itself. The end of the film is the only time in the movie that the antidote to the evil is actually mentioned. And that's what I thought I found was powerful because they stand up and they literally say, what did they say? At the end, we reject the trinity. So just like in in the incredible to where the angry feminist villain looks at the mom who says, you know, we could have been friends if not for your core values, evil. When it when it when the evil finally announces itself in reaches its culminated at the end of the moving. But is it say, verbalize it. It's, it tells you who it is and what it's here to oppose. And it says an upfront Toni Collette was I agree, it's it's really good, but there's really that it is, but it is really graphic and it's also not what you think it is in the trailers..

"They were going to really go at that at that part of the plot and then felt like, you know, we are still a marvel movie. So let's let's fight some more but and that's where I thought they, they just made in other marvel movie when I thought they could have made something much more. The success of this film may give you exactly what you're looking for though. Yeah, they'll be in the marvel movie out grows the adventures worldwide. So you know what you're talking about and I'm gonna be like, and that's why I live into Moines. And your name is Kevin Feige because you're right. I don't know what I'm talking about. This is just my own opinion not to give away some family secret here, but did you think it was the best comic book movie? Not a no. In fact, another one's gonna be very high on the list. Can I ask you both quick to frame what we're talking about here? Sure. Because no matter what your lists would be different, but you guys agree on things a lot more than people might think overall, though. Frame of reference this entire year of movies thus far do give it an aid. You give it a bead, you give it a sea, so we know what we're talking with just being on my list anywhere you'll came with it. Yeah, I'm is this an eight year from the year. For movies. Overall, we can't really tell because one up to this to this point, I think it's been a b. plus year. Three more of the serious fanatic. The movies are what will come out now and the popcorn movie season. It's not. It's not Memorial Day or I have made to end of August anymore. You know, marbles putting out major releases in February. Major releases are coming out in March, and so the summer movie season, I don't think it was very good. No, and I think one of the reasons why, because what I'm saying here, it's more spread out now. These don't come out. There's not a blockbuster every single week now, like there was for so many years. They're more spread out. So I think the year's been good for movies. I thought it was a very disappointing summer movie season overall. Yes, I would agree. I hate to agree. Number nine, we may disagree here. I'm have. I can only imagine here number. Not on my list. Never saw it. Okay. Here's what I love about the movie. When I love about the movie is they found a way to take a Christian song that had huge crossover appeal. It was on the billboard, pop charts and everything else, and they made a very compelling story around it and they and they, they made a very adult story being there's real depictions of abuse and things of that nature. It's not there is some formulaic at the end, but there's there's human disappointment in this movie that a lot of Christian films that take on this subject matter have have sort of refused to address. And I've talked about this for years as well. This notion that everything's got to be perfect and hunky, Dory, and everything else. And this film is pretty blatant about showing the words of human nature which makes the spiritual payoff at the end. I think even more powerful anybody as ever see this I have. I have. It's yet I tried to watch you. So you see earn? Yes, yeah, it was. I agree. I mean, there's I hate the formulaic thing but in, but that's the really at the end. That's the only time that happened. And there are moments just, I mean, there's a lot of Christian music Christian movies, quote, unquote, air quotes tend to be able to do this, but there are a lot of legit, you know, tear jerking moments in that movie, but they were not. They weren't tacky. They weren't sheep mighty five year old mother-in-law. She loved it. It was the best movie. She saw year and she cried. It's also the only movie she saw here. Oh. Discount that if you're seven, eight, nine, ten on my list, particularly eight, nine or ten odds are you won't be on this list at the end of the year, right? Okay, bumped. Yeah. Number eight mission impossible fall out which to me is the ultimate as you would say, the ultimate Steve days film. There's literally no plot to this movie. I mean, there's literally no story, but it has some of the abs- like the previous movie, rogue nation had a great story. I thought, right, okay..

"It is a Tuesday. This is our pop culture, Tuesday podcast. We take a look at the intersection between pop culture and conservatism, and with this now being post Labor Day, the summer movie season is over the fall movie season is upon us. And so we have dragged him out of semi self induced retirement. Our good friend, Mike Whitty is back with us. My friend is good and I'm this. There is no set up here. This may be the only nice thing I say the rest of this show. It is good to see you again. How have you been out? I've been well. I haven't seen you in a long time because the last two of these we've done. He hasn't been here as he career that I've been gone and they realize shocked when I walked down, they realized that they called you. You would take my place by doing the vast majority of talking. They wouldn't have to, and it worked. I walked into the studio and I quickly saw you and like I gotta get outta here and the door lock behind me. Again, can't get out how if you watched a crtv show you restore in the in the in the earlier reference to conservatism and mass media, where where do I fall in there? Well, you are I? Oh, as proud, the one proud, they'll have it on the John casick Iowa caucus voted. Yes. So if you go and find who's the agate print of the twenty sixteen I will caucus results and it says, agate John casick one in the vote total. We know who it is. You have outed yourself. I've proud. I proudly still have it on the car Massey of the day died, you know, father Levingston like Mike car. The junk casick sticker. Daddy said you've missed. You've missed too many confessions. Mike, is that what he said after that. No, I quickly ran screaming from the chapel. Fire spontaneously. Exactly. All right. So before we get to the fall movie preview, here's what I like to do with you. I have my list of the ten best twenty eighteen movies. I've seen so far. All right. Thanks for that preparation heading into now. There were three fourths of the way through the year. So heading into the heading into the last quarter of the year. All right. These are in the in the order. I would rank them the ten best movies I've seen so far this year, and I'm gonna go ten to one. I want you to just give me a quick hot. Take on my list. Okay. Are you ready? Yeah. Okay. Number ten. I Black Panther. Very good moving. I think it's a very good movie. I've watched it a couple more times. I think there is some social Justice projection in that. I don't think it's as good as I think people wanted it to be better because of the political undertone to the movie. Oh, yeah, I think so. But I actually my take on this may surprise because you and I've never talked about this Batat an air in the audience. Heard me say this before. I think the movies, weaknesses, there's actually not enough politics. I don't have this conversation that about every movie. No, I would not you and I've had this conversation for fifteen years. You always tell me if it doesn't agree with my policy. I don't wanna watch it. I always tell you, I don't need you to agree with my politics, just whatever your politics are need you to do them. Well, and entertained, I'll watch. I found it's essentially, you know, one guy's Martin Luther King junior guys, Malcolm x. right, and they don't even hide that. I wanted to see more of that interplay. I wanted to hear them debate one another more. I think the film it found itself. I think they the film scared of its own message a little bit in that they were good. You got the sense watching it..
