"The whole vaccine mandate and this is where you see capitalism really going to work so yeah like if you go on instagram. You'll see they're. They're these accounts and all over social media that promise vaccine cards from anywhere from like fifty bucks to like five hundred bucks and like y'all we got the real nice vaccine cars. We got the cbc one. If you're in the uk we got the nhl s fucking joints with the fugger. Got it no questions. Asked pass through Apple pear bitcoin. Shipping is quick and you will be deceiving your employers in. No time and yeah. There's just been over the last couple of weeks. We've seen an increase of stories that are just around like the use of these cards are like the feds. Busting shipments last week in tennessee. And in alaska the fez got over like six thousand vaccination cards like indifferent shipments that were from china that were like basically destined for people across the us who were trying to get in on that. You know that replica. That rep of vaccine card and they were all printed with the cbc logo and like look super super close they said however when when officials looked closer they noticed spelling mistakes and poor printing quality so they weren't quite one to one as we say in the replica world. But yeah it's it's it's this is gonna be a thing because we have the dumbest looking vaccination cards. It is trying to find mind just like yeah evaluate it because it really look like shit like really just a piece of paper. Yes like someone's handwriting on. It has like white out on it for some reason. So like mine i think gets more scrutiny than like a fake one would because people are it out. Yeah the very first your over. The whiteout is like pfizer. And the date. That i got it. I mean the first dose load is. I'm i used to dabble in the extra legal entrepreneurial arts and when i was at dodger stadium getting my vaccine there was just a pilot shits like just out in the open all pro. You could swipe dish it right now and so they can get it going. I'm a better personality and adults. Who feels more responsible to the people around me and i was just like it was sort of blowing my mind that i'm mike wolf. I'm thinking this you know people could work. Take a couple salam off on the side and make good money because we don't have anything that's even remotely close to having any kind of like security features built into our money. You know what. I mean like dry with that. Like couldn't under a black light and there's like a thing that's like only the cdc paper has or what there's round thing like that. It's literally just a piece of paper and wipe like all. These branches are so bad at like even the unemployment website was like twenty years behind. Like how do these people not know how to get with the times..

I don't know how anybody votes for Mitt Romney or takes him seriously. But it's clear to me that Willard Mitt Romney is angling for Republican presidential candidacy in 2024. I just hope that Same Republicans that were dumb enough to nominate this guy in 2012, and many Republicans that nominated them with that voted to nominate him in 2000 and eight aren't fooled again in 2024. I hope instead of Willard Mitt Romney, you given opportunity to Donald Trump, because I think when you look at integrity, and when you look at leadership, and when you look at results, Donald Trump's record speaks for itself. And will admit Romney's record speaks for itself. Michael Johns will join me next. We'll talk about whether or not Donald Trump may actually have a shot at winning this election. "But my friend sitting across the glass Mike Wolf was forced into a furlough when he wanted to be here, working. So whether it's the bills who could end up losing a game if they decide to make the Titans forfeit Tuesday. I don't think the league's at that point yet or if the Broncos are Patriots were to lose a game check. It's not the end of the world. 99% of the people listening right now and 19% of people in this country would even take the league minimum salary. That everyone's making of a half a million bucks. Okay? Not to mention that the guys they're making millions and millions of dollars. You lose a game check. I get that it. It's gonna aggravate you. Nobody wants to lose any kind of paycheck. But people have had to make adjustments. We've had 30 million people in the country that filed for unemployment. I know that numbers. I'm off a little more than 30 million people. So The NFL was kind of playing with fire. With the way they approached this be diligent. Take care of your teammates, Take care of your fellow staffers, employees and basically create your own bubble where you're just going home to work work to home. But there are variables. Guys go out to dinner. Guys go to the store. They have significant others, or maybe unless significant others that are in their household. And you have to trust it. They're all doing the right thing. So you want to talk about the idea that the NFL creates a bubble? Logistically. It's a big challenge because of the number of moving parts. You would essentially if you if you were going to strip it down to your barrister, essential personnel. You're still talking about basically the traveling party. Plus injured players and a few more medical staff. So you're looking at upwards of 100 to 150 people that you would have to figure out a way to isolate from now we'll just call it October, 15th will get around to the Middle week. Until the end of December. And then you get in the playoffs and creating class bubbles actually, probably a little easier because you could move everyone to Arizona. Houston, Dallas, Ella have plenty of fields to work on. Get to a hotel back to the facility, but To do it now is still going to be hard to execute. At the same time..

"Holes. He was really having difficulty here in the place last night. Yep, no doubt about that cow. Thank you. So I don't know. I mean, I my understanding Wass. That there was a limit that and the crowd noise is controlled by the home stadium. But there was a limit that was put in place by the league that said, You cannot go and I thought it was 70 decibels. And then it was adjusted to okay, you can at times go to 75. I mean, normally in a really loud stadium like up in Seattle or Kansas City, or, frankly, here in Denver, when the team is playing well in this place rocks, you're gonna hit your decibels. Decibels will be up over 100. 110 right, 115 So the league had stipulated 70 to start with and then modifying that and allowing 75. Yet he was having trouble getting the plague call and they were battling that that play clock. It seemed like almost the entire second half. I don't know if they crank that up there. But you're right. Six days ago, Dave, the NFL revised the stadium. The rules and allowed teams to crank up the volume on the fake crowd noise up to 80 decibels. Yeah, I don't so that I don't know a little bit louder. But that's pretty loud, considering there's nobody in the building and maybe my My theory is maybe it's echoing a bit off of the You know you're in an empty stadium. And maybe since they're no people in there to soak up that noise, that vibration maybe it bounces around in the stadium a bit and does make it louder than it really seems from the 97 0590. How loud was the speaker in the quarterback's helmet? If they ever put one on before. I have not. I have held the helmet up to my ear listening to it. It's It's very similar to see. How would I. How would I describe that? It's like the transmission you would get if you had the old school walkie talkie. It's you, Khun. It's very clear, but it has that sort of sound right. So Yep. And by the way stadiums that hold 2500 fans or more, which is what the Broncos did. In the last game against Tampa Bay. You can opt out of using the simulated noise altogether. I don't think the Broncos did that in the Tampa Bay game lead from what I could tell Because I think the 5700 that were there. I did take my headphones off a couple times. I couldn't. I couldn't hear him. Anything from them. Yeah, it's just not enough people. I mean, to put it in context, right right before we say so long. The four A five a state football championships have been played most recently and empower Field of Mile high right for those games combined you get, I think last year They got, like 17 or 18,000 people. And you know, it's nothing like the roar of the stadium when you have 76 or 77,000, so you can imagine if a third of that 17 or 18. That's all you have. It's It's not mean that's a cavernous Facility. It's not going to sound like it's anywhere close to being full because it isn't it unaided looked empty with 5700 people. It was like somebody dropped off a tour bus and they were getting a tour of the stadium. That's how few people In a stadium. The seats 80,000 people, It's It just looked like these guys just kind of showed up to take a look at the stadium and I don't know why they spread him out so much. They should have just condensed tomorrow because you could put 5700 people just on the first level and socially distance. That's true. Rick saw one guy in the top level. You did? Yeah. Yeah, like every top. Do they just tell you could sit anywhere in the state? I don't think so. I don't know. I wouldn't think so, either. Because there was just like one guy in the upper deck may be worked there. Don't know City stay for the whole damn game. Tampa Bay number 10 Final score Seeyou later that's going to do for our show, thanks to Mike Wolf for sitting in this morning for millennial Grant. We'll be back. Grant me back with.

If you're the sort who wants to watch it on television again. My pro tip to you is C span is your friend C span has thie uninterrupted undocking head coverage that you will enjoy A and you won't have to worry about anything from the network. So that's just my personal opinion. But we love if you can't watch to please listen to it here on K away. Interesting thing, Dave. Today on the block that a recent survey a Monmouth poll set Monmouth I guess I should say not mon mouth. That was a little little little full in the mouth there more mouth anyway. Monmouth Poll says that three quarters Of likely voters say they're going to watch the debate tonight. That would be like 75 million people. Right. Well, I don't feel like we're going to get there. I think people are just saying they're going to watch the debate because they want to see him, you know, informed I think you're going to have a lot of people watching at the beginning, and I don't know whether the stick through the whole thing. But I just curiosity. What's gonna happen in the 1st 10 minutes? They're going to have tremendous audience for that. Here's the thing that people in my my job or or similar jobs, political analyst writers the people that have been writing about the upcoming debate. Ah, lot of people on the left are already declaring Joe Biden the winner. If he stands through the entire thing doesn't rule and manages to remain coherent for 90 minutes. They've already declared him the winner. If if that's the bar for your candidate. I'm sorry. I truly I'm sorry that that's how low it is, but that's where they're trying to put it, but something that struck me this morning. And that I think is important. Remember all the pundit class off journalists? All the writers, all the talk show hosts. We follow this stuff. Like rabid dogs, right? The average American voter does not. So I see a lot of columns dismissing the importance of the debates, You know Mindset by nine in Pennsylvania. What's really gonna happen? People have already made up their minds anyway. They're not going to change your minds watching a debate. Everybody knows what the real truth is, except you're overestimating how much people pay attention. You know, in my industry, we want to believe that what we say is incredibly important, and people want to listen to it. I mean, except me. I'm I'm shocked every day that I have an audience. I'm not going to lie. I wake up and I'm like God, I don't know what I did for this, but thank you. So there are a lot of people that are gonna watch tonight. This is going to be their first bite at the Apple. And I think they're going to be very surprised by what they see. We shall see day. What do you think? Yeah. In normal times on previous presidential debates, it was a hit and miss. You might tune in the first one. And then I don't know, maybe the second one. Very few of the third, but we're in a different era right now than we were then big time. We have such poll polarization politically. Democrats hate Republicans. Republicans hate Democrats, their evil I mean, we've never had an atmosphere like that, and then the supercharged atmosphere they symbolize. Each one of those candidates the point of view of that voter that I hate the other sign he's going to make it better. And there is so much emotion involved, and I think that's the difference. You're going to have people watching because they want to see that other guy killed. Yeah, whatever it happens to be if it doesn't happen. There. There is a possibility that it actually debate could break out tonight. Where, you know everybody likes to think that Donald Trump is uninformed doesn't know what's going on, doesn't listen to his briefings. But I'm telling you, that is not true. If you've watched him in any of these press conferences. He? He answers far more questions competently, then he doesn't and and he does so in a manner that from my perspective indicates that he's very well informed about these issues. And I think for Biden supporters who despise Trump and expect him to be this bumbling moron. They're going to be in shock. Now, if Joe Biden is awake because it doesn't start till line on the East Coast. And he comes out and is cognizant and has his. You know, wherewithal with him. He also could be a very good debater. Then again, it could be an absolute dumpster fire, and that's what makes this debate so magical. You really don't know what's gonna happen. You don't buy the first debate is so critical. Yeah, yeah, the 1st 10 or 15 minutes of debate number one. That is when it it can be won and lost. Absolutely. There is a possibility it it'll be vanilla known. I'll get excited. I'll just talk policy that it could happen. No, I don't think so. Either. I do think that Trump's gonna come out swinging, and it's gonna be really interesting to watch how Joe Biden handles that because he gets flustered and angry, and he does not do well when he's flustered and angry, and you know what he's going to go after he's going to go after Hunter Biden at some point, he's going to go after 100 100 Biden immediately. Like immediately. I mean, there's all sorts of evidence out there. Biden is going hey, and he hasn't been asked any of these questions because he's avoided all questions so he will get all the questions he's avoided. During this debate. Now what's interesting is and I don't know how much truth to this. There is, but the Trump campaign said, Hey, we want Tio have an independent third party group. Check us both for air pieces. Before we start the debate. Check check us individually for air wigs that could be used to feed us answers or anything like that in the debate, and Trump's like yacht down with that. Let's do that. In the bind. Campaigns like Oh, I don't know..

M. R. pretty much everything except the letter might be meager I don't dump mechanic time I don't care how it feels about you Reno I just one of you have it I go ahead no worries so first thing that comes to mind is like a really good real salmon sandwich you know we are getting warm outside we are getting like those futures at that age sixteen candidates have you know perfect time to grill some salmon up and make a really get damaged so the first thing I would do you wanna make this for myself is I get a tomato and a slice of first you know just like a regular everyone has been just sit on your counter slice that and then heavily salted and peppered about thirty minutes beforehand so what that's going to do is it's going to have to take out a lot of that moisture and that this may not have so when you go to use it to put on a sandwich you know you're not like having this wet soggy sandwich okay and then so do that then go heat your grill and anyone of pressure grill with you know like all is well market the oil of your choice to believe special element although okay we we we know we're allowing Reno do you know do you have a grill yes I do okay all right perfect all right no word on it and then you apply blush it's L. as in securing it and then for the salmon itself you just want to kind of keep it simple no pressure with oil and salt pepper just a favorite did you really want to seem to be the start of this this mail put on the grill and the rotating hot it's about forty five minutes on each side so you're kind of looking for like a medium well you have done this at the same time incidental side but it but it lasts for you know a little bit time and then for the French bread you know but it and then you wanna tell us on that same girl just on the like on the cooler side it will check if I could get toasty consistency that is thanks to no I couldn't find a chart neck so that way you have acted like crispy bread the naked crunch with that because you have same event came in the country so you can have all of those pictures looking for you and then I anytime that I can combine my play of plaster together with a little bit of you know like garlic and if you have red pepper flake like a little bit of that just kind of give a little spice mix that all together for like in a holy and you just want to flatter that on top of your brain and I played with the salmon on top of it you know some of that to me now and then the whatever lies would it be like equal parts of musk the mail yeah you know whatever your preferences in your family's preferences how many calls parts guy some people are some people who really love no more more mustard I resent people that answer so I'm going to ask you something about how cooking is that you can kind of tailor that to your email you can cope with your soul little bit so it just seems layer that out let take the salmon on top of it which your sliced avocado that's a little too often and then some of that tomato slices diagonally you know so that way you have a nice kid like half a sandwich and then she's yours you know you're silage which you do chips or you know you could even make it with some tight like some fried potatoes and roasted potatoes or anything like that yeah that sounds very good I have said so they did for that does there you go right now for the details you know plays a lot of any other you can even grown since the girls already on it just kind of make a come south caters with message that we have kind of that sandwich and imply that is speaking so are you saying are you wait when you see a slice of the pie I want to understand this shift because this is important potatoes especially in summers billion be growing a lot my guests this summer is that you cite some into circles and around and then you just flip on or what do you ever you do it like homestyle where at like you know chopped up like it's a half either way I work for a sandwich I would slice and kind of like around you know probably around a quarter inch sticks that way there they need they they can get actor Kristen S. but they don't get over cuts so then you know just put him on the ground game with them well and then similar to your favorite seasoning salt that you typically have that's in there and then well that's bad boys sweat and kind of get crispy around the edges in fact that plan out the oil's gonna boil going to make them not like really Ted brown color yeah and then probably about the same amount of time like forty five minutes on each side and then after that discuss them you know just test them.

The Rockies wrap up their series against the Diamondbacks, fiber, buddy, Jack Corrigan along with Jerry Schimmel producer, engineer, Jesse Thomas, Mike wolf at master control back in Denver. Rockies of one the first two games of the series but had a law suffered last night and Trevor story leaving the game with a sprained right thumb and we're still waiting for all the details? Yet doesn't look real promising. He's already been put on the injury list. We do know that to Jack, we're just waiting to see what the extent of the damage might be Trevor had an MRI scheduled for ten o'clock this morning. So that's happened. He was gonna go right from there to a hand specialist to no word on what that hand specialist has told everybody. But yet. Upload for the Rockies, we could tell last night when Trevor came off the field. And, and it didn't it went, right? The clubhouse that things might have been pretty serious turns out that they were hopefully not gone for very long. The Rockies have brought up Brendan Rodgers to take Trevor spot on the roster. It'll be the lake getting the start this afternoon, a shortstop and Jeff Hoffman coming off a very good performance will try and lead the Rockies to the sweet. Exactly. Right. But blocks talk about he said, Jeff pitches like he did last time around against the Padres. The Rockies have great chance of sweeping the series. It was that crazy game where Jeff often allowed one run in five innings, and then the Padres scored fifteen more against the Rockies bullpen and that crazy series one of the, those games there was maybe the craziest of them all, but Jeff op and his pitching much better these days, Jack and hopefully that carries over today and give the Rockies chances weep to series Rockies on deck will take a quick break. When we come back, we'll sit down with. Last night's winning pitcher, John gray. Stay with us. Sunday, KOA Rockies radio network. "And they're also touch some of the other monuments. And then what happens for the weekend? Sunday, right. Kicks off around the clock is does every year, and then the demonstration will concluded the stage. Okay. And ride kicks off at the Pentagon parking lot. And where's the stage at? Over by the Lincoln Memorial. Okay. So where would people be best assembled, if they want to watch all of these bikes and rolling thunder come through? Well around avenue. That's where the ride goes through. So it really depends if you want to end up at the guest speakers at the stage or if you wanna ride, but, you know, obviously starting points are the Pentagon parking lot. Yes. Okay. And you welcome. All comers. If people are saying, maybe they're not traditionally part of rolling thunder, but they own a motorcycle. And they say you know what? I just wanna go out there can just show up at the Pentagon parking lot and assemble with you. Yeah. Absolutely. And, you know, like as far as rolling thunder goes, you know, not everybody in rolling thunder motorcycle, so we welcome people from, you know, we have people from all walks of life. So tell little sell people. A little bit about the organization rolling thunder. I'm very familiar with it, because I've worked with some of these, these vets with with projects for four vets and also for support of our soldiers overseas. And they're very active in that. But tell people what is rolling thunder about, and what do they do? Well, a lot of people don't realize that we have another section of rolling thunder, which is rolling thunder charities, right? And that's money that goes out to help veterans, you know, if I inside Nanteuil need, maybe, you know, our members go, and we visit veterans that are in PT programs at the VA hospitals the community living centers, which is kind of like a nursing home. We're there on a regular basis, and we're advocating for them in these facilities on and also giving them some company, we have a group of people that go out, you know, for the community centers, they bring bingo, they played bingo with them. We bring them some hot meals and stuff like that. And you know, it's much, much appreciated because a lot of times when you're in those kind of you kind of feel like you're separated from society, and you're a little bit forgotten one of the things that we wanna make sure that they know they're not. All right. Mike. Mike wolf. Thank you very much for this preview. And I hope you and everybody who's involved with rolling thunder has blessed Memorial Day. "mike wolf" Discussed on Smart Kitchen Show

"Here when this is Mike wolf, welcome to the podcast t show is here from what is perhaps my favorite session. From March two has an eighteen it's the session where I got together with some of my fever journalists on stage and talk to them about how they do their job. We had jewelry from wire we had actually cart Thompson from c net. Wilson Rothman from Wall Street Journal and Lisa McManus from America's test kitchen. And these are folks who I read all the time to understand what they think about new kitchen products. And I thought it'd be great to get them on stage and talk to them about how they're doing their job in an era where increasingly technologies having a say in how consumers cook in the kitchen. I just thought it'd be great thought it also would be valuable for people in the audience folks who make appliances who make kitchen products who sell them to understand what these folks think about and how they go about reviewing these products, and what some of their favorite things are what they hate about the new products in the kitchen, so. It was really fun conversation. I hope you enjoy it before we started to talk a little bit about CBS and how our live event went. It was pretty great. I'm sure many of you visited who visit the spoon saw a lot of the coverage were doing if you haven't made sure to go to spin dot tech, which had a great time to seeing all these companies in one room and talking to them, but their products, and you know, eating Greek pizza from like world champion pizza chefs, and it was great. So if you haven't checked out the coverage, go to spoon dot TEC. Check it out. All right. That's it for now. Let's listen to the podcast. I'm so excited. We actually have an extra person. So I'm going to grab a stool here because I read all all of your work and appreciated of the hard work. It is to review products and products are changing so quickly. So I want this panel to talk about this. And how you guys think about products in that kind of this merkich and era. But before we do that. I'm just going to quickly go to down the line and introduce you to say who you are because I think people know the general publications refer jewelry from wire Wilson Rothman from the Wall Street Journal, Lisa McManus from Americans test kitchen and Ashi Kurt Thompson was seen it. And what I love about. This is kind of each have your own the lens through which you look at kitchen products. Can you each very briefly kind of explained how you how you will if what wires lenses when you look at a kitchen product, I have a very low threshold for the S. And I think I can see it pretty quickly. I used to cook it a bunch of restaurant kitchens. I write about food all day. And then I go upstairs, and I cook in my cook dinner because it makes me happy. And if I just start trying to integrate it into whatever that tool is I usually have it for a month or two or three, and I just start trying to integrate it into my daily pattern, and if it's not working. Somethings probably wrong. But I also try to think about house my mom going to do this house. My sister who all's has even lowered pelerins BS like how she going to deal with it. How is some these grandma going to deal with it? And then somewhere in there, you kind of start to realize what's important, and what's not when you get tech product kitchen products. What are you? What is the lens through which the Wall Street Journal you look at? Yeah. I mean for us we're not going to be running through every product in a category trying to assess whether it's you know, this one gets a five in this gets a four and a half. We're really looking at or I'm looking at and my team is looking at what is changing about the way we are in the spending time in the kitchen like this device like for instance, adding WI fi to an emergency circulator seemed at first like a stupid idea. And then I realized wait a minute. Other people don't go to the internet. Find out exactly the right time to cook. You know, a piece of salmon at the exact temperature was a pretty picture Sam click button, and you're. Rica there, the kitchen change, and so that became something that we you know, we cover, but I also edit a lot like working, you know, a team of people who are all coming up with their own ideas. So there's a lot of this question. What does this really mean? And more and more. Now is it going to steal your identity when you plug in right? Will admissions test kitchen? I don't know if everybody's familiar with what we do. But we look at a lot of nontechnical kitchen products home cooks on the executive tasting testing editor. So I do product reviews as well as ingredient taste tests, and we focus on supermarket products. We focus on common cookware, and we do really practical tests to see which one is the best. And then try to explain why try to figure out why. And we really tried to not with people's money or time and get them the products that are gonna make successful in the kitchen. So when I I'm starting to incorporate more and more high-tech stuff smart things, and I think our audiences his gated likes to cook is somewhat affluent educated. And they wanna know when the should incorporate this technology into their home kitchens and seen as started mainly reviewing ovens. And stoves, and it didn't matter if they were smart or not. But over the years now it's been about three and a half years we've seen just an emergence of connected products, both large and small so my role has changed a little bit. In terms of the things that I review I found myself now, reviewing war, small smart appliances. And there's definitely a focus with with our publication on just the tech aspect of it. The people who read our say, not only are they interested in the latest Afon or Android phone. But they also want to know like, oh, my God is connected. Can I have this connected cooking system and things like that? So we review a lot of products even some that we might have seen on crowd hunting site that like made a lot of waves some things that are interesting, even if they're not connected, but just if there's if there's something that makes it a little bit different. It's probably my wheelhouse. And we America's test kitchen as brand around reviewing kitchen products. You you spend a lot of time with it would imagine you start to say you starting to review more tech forward products. How is the process change? If you guys had as publication had to say, okay, we have certain standards around types of products will review talk about how things change. Well, traditionally will do things like a spatulas and millions battles out there. A lot of these products are one of a kind or one maybe another ones come down the pike. And so we're looking at these things in isolation sometimes were comparing them to the divisional technology does this an improvement over the way. People Kartli do things is this relief practical is it really functional in terms of publishing them. It's been a little bit of a rocky road. Because. We had this happened with the June oven. I reviewed the first generation, right? As it went into kind of hiatus as they were preparing the second generation and my review gut sat on for a couple months didn't run. And then the new one came out at high jumped on it and pushed it through the we have a very long process of a lot of fact checking in various editors. It's not best. So it was we got it out quickly. Once this was done with it. I got the whole process to go a little faster than usual because that was frustrated and we're talking about how this changes are online for publishing. Joe you said you have this low tolerance for BS. I feel like I can read all your your reviews, you're writing your I can see this appreciation for maybe innovation makes a product better by also since very quickly when there's a noise and probably more, no more. So than with you Joe. So talk. The crank. He got talk about some instances of where you've seen products that have been integrated technology where you've just made you felt a the product backwards or didn't make the product better at all. Okay. I've got one. There's for me. I think this comes from me having cooked in a bunch of kitchen restaurants restaurant kitchens. I always want to be able to have the primary function of device be able to be accessed without touching my phone.
