"The ascot that he wore? Have you ever worn one yourself? I have not worn and ascots like I remember when Charles Woodson was around here, making the Ascot very famous is a part of Sunday NFL countdown, But today I Haven't gone down the Ascot path yet after seeing Dan go down that road, I'm not sure it's a place I need to. I like that stay consistent, different from the seasoning different from the Ascot. I'm very proud of you, my friend. Now let's head to the FC half because earlier in the show, we are going step by step showing you the team's road. The Kansas City Chiefs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The road to the Super Bowl. And in case you missed it. Obviously, we started with the A F. C. You can check out our conversation on Shin angle on junior on the podcast. But right now we are on to the NFC, the divisional talking about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So we're heading back to the buy you back to Louisiana because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the New Orleans Saints. 30 to 20 Now junior looking back on that match up. What did you take away? That sort of got Tampa Bay to where they're in Super Bowl 55 right now. So this was the game where they got Devon White back, and this is the match up. I was looking forward to in all of this today in seeing him against album Camaro on that other side Because we saw the Saints going into this game. It became apparent very quickly. The Drew Brees, who again had 11 fractured ribs during the season, it was dealing with a lot of stuff. Was not gonna be able to push the ball down the field. We heard a very frustrated Michael Thomas tweeting during the next round of the playoffs in the NFC championship game about their inability to go downfield, But it was just a reminder of at full strength for me. How business that Tampa Bay defense was, especially with that linebacker corps that we saw show up big against Green Bay later on. Yes, and I went back to my notes, and I think that's a great point because I didn't even think about that because I was looking at basically the biggest Differentiating factor statistically and it was a turnover battle. And that's where I think Drew Brees. What did he have three interceptions and then an additional turn over. So the Bucks won the turnover battle 4 to 0. Their offense turned three of the four Saints turnovers into touchdowns. And so now I feel like if you're in a situation clearly, I mean, take care of the ball in the Super Bowl. We all know that the Chiefs Clearly if they lose a possession or two, you know they can still find themselves in the game. But it's largely been the Bucks playing better taking care of the ball. Tom Brady managing the defense stepping up, and that's sort of where they are right now, it was. It was a big time performance for that defense of side of the ball. We mentioned getting whole injury wise. Ronald Jones, who had been out that prior around against the Washington football team was back in this game Him and Leonard Fernet both over 60 yards on the ground and that component of their game, the ability to use those weapon. Is that Tom Brady like so much? Certainly a big part of that now to help us go back into this match up again. We're joined. Now on the good your hotline by our ESPN Saints reporter Mike triplet with us here now and Mike. I'm curious that game. I think so Much got to be made from the state's perspective about the limitations of Drew Brees. But as you look back at Tampa Bay, and they went out there and did in this game, what stuck out to you now looking back on this performance from them? Well, you make a great point about Devon White Mike because the fourth turnover in that game that wasn't a Drew Brees interception was a Jared Cook fumble. When the Saints had a seven point lead and in the third quarter and it crossed midfield. They could have turned that to a 10 point lead a 14 point lead. But what happened was once the same finally got down later in that game, and they had to play catch up. You know, do priests still had a lot of success possessing the ball moving the chains, But when they were trailing and they had to catch up and his go to guys were taken away from him. That changed things, dresses. I mean, we could find a linebacker who contest 1000 Come here away from you. It's It's so rare and this winds and and it changes a lot, although suddenly realized the Saints Routine that wasn't built to play from behind in the fourth quarter of game and that's when two of those interceptions happened. So one of them courtesy of Devon White, so I completely agree with you that They made it. They made it really hard for the Saints come back. That was a good show case for the Tampa Bay's defense of all the games they played. I think that's the one that probably showcase their defense. Best in a big game this yet that's a big compliment. Today. A woman came Michael in junior Mike Triplet, ESPN Saints reporter here with us on today and bullet Junior Now, Mike You know, I love this because when we're looking back, we're thinking in the mindset of the coaches scouting. Let's look at the tape. Let's look at the video. Now. Is there a flaw that you saw from the bucks that the Chiefs can probably look and say like, that's exactly what we want to exploit? Well, yeah, I mean, look the same. It was like infamously to help meet the Buccaneers place in the regular season 38 to 3 in Tampa. Band that was in those two games. They made Tom Brady throw two interceptions of peace in those games. They sacked him. I think three times in each of those games, and they really want that that all the line of scrimmage now I haven't had a lot of journalistic, and that is where Kansas City's you know, bread and butter is that they're just gonna be relentlessly attacking Tom Brady. But if they can You can't confuse him. You can't surprise him. But if you could make him feel uncomfortable, he will throw. You know, I mean, two interceptions in each other's games against the same three against the Packers last week, Even though they're in this game, he turned the ball over three times I speak, so he is not impervious to mistake's if you can put pressure on him. Awesome stuff, Mike. We appreciate you coming back and reliving What I know was a tough moment for the Saints, but certainly a team with a lot of questions of its own going in the off season. Just curious. Have we heard anything on the Drew Brees front at this point about this off season with Saints? No, I mean the only thing that would change. It would be a change of heart is his point. I think all of science points to him leading toward retirement. Unless he just decides that That's not the game. He.

"Always like was you're going to devote that You know, All those resource is to Thomas and will throw the other guys and he was having some success prone to Emmanuel Sanders. Trick One. Smith had a big day. Um Jared Cook. Until he lost a fumble. But obviously what they said over and over again was they killed themselves with the turnovers. They four turnovers in this game. He was trying to force one to Michael Thomas on the very first one. Which made a big impact. So you know they were gonna let him today do that to Michael Thomas. And they were going to take what Tampa Bay was giving him and they were winning. You know 20 to 13 and cross midfield. You know there was there was a moment Where was that? They might go up 27 to 13. And they were gonna be fine with that. But you know that playing that style of football where you just Kind of chip away and take with the defense gives you can't lose the turnover battle for nothing. If that's the style of football, you plan Myka little bit of breaking news right after the game. We know now that the associate head coach tied in coach for the New Orleans Saints, Dan Campbell would not be the new head coach with the Detroit Lions. What are Lions fans getting in Dan Campbell? What should they expect and How big of a losses is for Sean Payton staff. Well, you know, Dan Campbell actually played. This is Sean Payton's been doing this for so long and Drew Brees that he played with breeze and under painting for a year later in his career on Ben came and joined Peyton Staff. I think it was after the 2000 and 15 season after defending interim head coach in Miami. We definitely counts as sort of a disciple of Peyton's a guy who's learned how to how to be a head coach. How to run an organization. He's the guy that broke down the team a lot on Saturday nights and have speeches for him and things like that, Um, you know, kind of just a veteran voice in the room. Not necessarily, you know, irreplaceable. You know, guy who helped build this organization s Oh, I don't think would be devastating to the states to lose him, but they're obviously because they have such a veteran coaching staff. But obviously they think really highly of him to have brought him in. You know, sort of 10 years into this breeze Peyton there and put him in such an important role, and I think that's what the Lions one from him is. You know the leadership more than necessarily any offensive ex isn't owes and just, you know, having been around this winning program and having that brought up under Bill Parcells and trumpet Definitely a branch of that tree. That is ESPN Saint reporter Mike Triplet. Joining us here on game night after the saint season comes to an end and quite possibly the career of Drew Brees, New Orleans Falling 30 to 20 to the Tampa Bay Bucks. In the divisional around on Sunday night, Mike, We appreciate you taking the time to join us here on game nights and enjoy as much of the off season as you can. Right. Thank you. "Vet? You hear him on ESPN? L a radio joining us tonight. Having a lot of fun getting getting things riled up. Getting things stirred up, Kirky coming coming here in a game night. Start stirring things up like that's why do I like it a lot, baby. We appreciate everyone who was waiting on the Goodyear hotline. We will get to you in just a second. But right now we have to welcome in ESPN Saint reporter Mike Triplet to break down the fall out of New Orleans 30 20 loss in the divisional round. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucks first and foremost, Mike, I think the question everyone wants to ask and wants to know. Was that Drew Brees is last game in the National Football League. What is the Reed? You're getting down in New Orleans. Well, the Reed is that it almost certainly Woz. He did not confirm it. But Everybody has been expecting for this to be his final season, including him this season, and he's certainly took time. Soak it all in afterward, he was on the field. With his kids and his wife for you. No more than an hour after the game spent time with Tom Brady actually throwing a couple passes to his kids. Ah, lot of hugs a lot of looking around and enjoying this experience now, freeze has said. That's how he's treated each of these last four years that he wants to soak it all in as if it might be his last. But then he wants to make a measure decision and take a little time. But you know, this one feels different than the previous years. Yeah, I know. It feels a lot different right? But it's another early exit from the playoffs for this football team, And it's like to a point where you love the contributions of what Drew Brees has meant to that organization. But With some of the financial commitments that you have throughout the team like it's you love drew, but we don't love him that much to keep us in his salary cap purgatory that seems like they've been in over the last 10 years, while breeze has been quarterback. Yeah, well, a couple of things there. First of all, it's too bad. We're having this conversation after that game, because I think Greece has done enough in these last couple years to prove that he is, he is still special enough to be the best quarterback. For this team. Even the new Drew Brees, the 40 40 42. As of Friday, 42 year old Dupri's He doesn't throw it down the field, but, you know, completes a ton of his passes and As the highest passer ratings of his career in recent seasons and at the low interception totals. Unfortunately, he really struggled tonight. And this was one. You know, one of the ones that It's too bad. He has to go out on this note because he didn't get the job done tonight, And there's no way to sugarcoat three interceptions in a playoff game for the first time in his career. If he looked like this all the time, I'd say Yeah, they have to tell him it's time to move on. He doesn't look like this all the time. But This is a really disappointing way to go out and, yeah, the salary cap. What's interesting about that? Is they They were going to get their way out of that tap trouble that you're talking about. Even with all the you know, $20 million players that have now 15 million. Our players, the great players they have. And then the losses of revenue from co bed where the calf has been going up 10 million every year. It's now expected to go down, maybe by 20 million next year, and that is really, really gonna hurt this team. So This is a team that still has so much talent that I think they'll be competitive, no matter who's here, but they cannot bring everybody back. Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Man, I get it. Drew Brees was fine in the regular season. But this is the game that matters. So like this is, you know, I mean, like this is the point in the season where the results Absolutely are do or die, but actually heard Sean Payton say on a podcast earlier this year that the the quarterback of the future for the Saints is already in that locker room, whether it be J. Taysom or Jamous. What have you heard in regards to that? I think he believes that and I think he thinks he can win with both those guys, especially if this team still has Michael Thomas haven't come ERA. One of the better offensive lines in the league on did pretty good defense. Even if they can bring everyone back. I think Either direction that they go. They could be a competitive team, whether the reviving Winston's career or, you know, working off what they saw from Taysom Hill and trying to exploit his strengths and work around You know some of the issues he had when he spent too much time in the pocket, But so you know, those are two very worthy candidates. I would rank them ahead of, you know, going up and getting Ryan Fitzpatrick or Andy Dalton there, Nick Foles or something like that. But I don't. I don't think either one is locked in as here's our quarterback for the next 10 years, and then we're gonna go back to the playoffs every year. I still think they need to think long term whether that's Developing Winston. Whether that's going into the draft this year or always looking at potential draft picks, they're not set there yet. They certainly are not question marks about. Although Jamis Winston did come in and threw a 56 year touchdown passes. Smith on a little gadget was he was the best quarterback or his over was the best quarterback on the fields. QB rating Perspective one for 1 56 yards and assume the Hall of Fame voters in a room right now, and this is all they get their faces. Look at that I do have one other question is being Saint reporter Mike triplet with this here From the state's perspective, I think one of the more shocking things in this game is that Mike Thomas put up Bagels. Zero catches zero yards. Carlton Davis obviously chirping at him a lot. What did Sean Payton Drew Brees, Mike Thomas himself say about either the game plan that Tampa threw at him or the inefficiencies with the New Orleans offense that had him Literally make zero impact on the game. No, You're absolutely right. And you know such a weird season for Michael Thomas because he only played four complete games all year and three of them were against Tampa Bay. And he did not. I'm sorry, only played four complete games with breeze all year. Andrea. We're gonna stand today and they did not find success in those games. And you know condoms is a bigger physical corner. Who matches up pretty well against Thomas in the same chair..

"Not that this will be the last post season that we see from Drew Brees. You look at Tom Brady. Tom Brady again. I know it's a proven nobody. He signed with the Bucks and came in division felt like that was gonna be a team had playoff aspirations and beyond, just like us. Head is breeze and Brady Sunday night in New Orleans. That will certainly get the headlines. Tampa Bay will start Leonard Fernet at running back, a New Orleans native and former ls you Tiger Ronald Jones, working his way back in that quad injury is Game time call with regards to those quarterbacks who are future Hall of Fame Ear's Saints coach Sean Payton with what those two guys were accomplishing, and what they have accomplished is a better way to say it at the age there at we talked constantly about the physical It's hard to appreciate is the emotional stress and challenge week in and week out the attention to detail the amount of film the amount of after practice snaps with players. The amount of corrections you know, along with all the things relative to taking care of their bodies in the off season in season sleep nutrition. It's their Olympic type training methods that you know you normally would get during a period of color, you know, into 10 years, And obviously these two are different man. No doubt they are different. The Saints won two regular season matchups with the Bucks with me two times. Explaining why this is the highest stakes battle between two old white guys America has had in okay, Wow. Brady has technically been the better quarterback. Yes, struggled under pressure, Which is why he got looked by the Saints. The first two times they met because that states pass rushes ferocious, which might be the most relatable thing about Tom Brady as he ages like I'm in my mid thirties. Use and if I knock my knee on the edge of a better term, my next wrong way. That is a wrap for the weekend, so I get it. And that's why I am going with New Orleans in this one because Brady is the better quarterback. But New Orleans is the better defense and they are better specifically in a way that's made Brady struggle on. Yeah, yeah, that would make it though three wins over the Bucks and Brady this season. It is the post season, though. Different time of year for Tom Brady and Marcus Spears has a tough time betting against the sample seems to have six protection. No better litmus, Justin what they were able to do against the Washington football team, even though they gave up to sex to the run pain in the middle, which is a level of concern, But his team is different. Antonio Brown is starting a sin looks more comfortable and Brady just has a Is more confidence is more number one more protection, obviously, and then just the confidence in who he's going to where guys are gonna be and just understanding that that report has been being built throughout the season, so I get to as the T V 12 man, and that's That's not to say that this game to go anyway. I just Man. If somebody was asking me to bet with Tom Brady lose three times in the season to the same team out always probably bet. No. So there's a take on how will play out? Let's get some takes from the two reporters who cover these teams for ESPN, Mike Triplet and Jenna Lane, both Freddie and Fitz Simmons. They can't trade touchdown for field goals on the offensive side. That's going to be really important. Tom Brady told me. He feels like they left some opportunities out there against Washington. But I'm really looking at the defense. I think they have got to get their hands on these receivers. We've got to press them. I think that the line of scrimmage they really need to disrupt their tiny more than anything, especially considering Drew Brees is not taking a lot of deep shot. A lot of what he's doing is underneath. So they've got to get to the quarterback. They've got to attack him, and they really need to disrupt the timing of these receivers. Well, the formula the first two wins is getting the tumble over the four man thought You can't blitz him because you can't surprise and you can't disguise. You have to just make sure your defensive line gets to him and the Saints did that. With three Statics and each of the first two meetings, five interceptions they forced in the first two minutes. I don't expect either of those totals to hit again. That they've got to make him uncomfortable on speed of his cock with just their form in front. The good thing is their defensive line is healthy for this game to coming up. The Yankees keep their batting champion and a starter, they hope will again become an ace. And how will Urban Meyer's transition to the NFL goal inside? On the other end this SportsCenter all night on ESPN radio?.

"How do you feel about the saints against the bucks? Well, I've had a lot of fun with that stat. Not only you know, on Twitter but like my own brother in laws that telling you this since November. I don't wanna play with time. But here's the thing. The only way you can play a team three times in a season. As if that team is a playoff team. So you know Tom Brady even get to play the you know, Open $16. That's three times you have to play a team three times because they're really good and the Buccaneers have been playing their best football is a lot of five people in ST And more so than probably any of the other 21 teams we talked about in the past. There is a team that they all just met each other in week one. You know that It is in the preseason, Uh, on Antonio Brown showed up in week nine. So there is a team that has been formulating truck here. There is no doubt The Buccaneers are the best they've been all year for my money. I'd still rather be the team that won 38 23 10 weeks ago, then the team that lost 38 to 3. But there's no doubt this is going to be the Saints toughest matchup against the bucks yet. The way that offenses gel in writing. What has it been like when the focus of his game has been Tom Brady, Drew Brees and everybody else has not mattered regarding this matchup, Mike Well, here's the thing I wrote that story today for ESPN dot com and And I'm sure everybody's got a little Brady and Bruce fatigue. But let's be honest. The one special match up. I mean, when you hear the guys talk about it It reaffirms how special it is to Google. He said He was testing Tom Brady earlier this week talking about it. I guarantee you Drew Brees is not commonly tax the opposing quarterback every week. Say Wow, what a well, you know it's special to them. The first place until 1999 produces Michigan. This is actually the four by decade. They've played a game against each other. It uh it is special. It is special, and it's special because of these guys. Look, they wouldn't be here if they weren't both loaded on drily. The Saints Um or more so than even the Bucks are not just about offense. They're probably more about defense and offense these days. Fourth decade. They've played against one another. Okay, now I feel in ancient all of a sudden, Michael Thomas. How healthy is it? Probably about his healthiest has been since week. One. Um you know, he Shaken up a little rust. I'm sure because he did again go on IR from weeks 15 to 17. But that was sort of a design plant instead of I fought through a game. Now I gotta miss Wednesday's practice and I'm swelling up. He decided to take the last three weeks off. But even though we did that, even though he's fighting through that he still had Read games with eight plus catches, two games of the 100 Policy Arts. He's effective even when hurt, but I do think he's probably about as healthy as he's gonna be in this season, which is a good thing, obviously, for the Saints they there's a little risk involved when you decide to shell the guy for the last three weeks of the season. Now they hopefully going to see the benefits of having done that. 30. Seconds left. What did the Saints have to do to make sure they go? Three, you know, and not two in one versus Tampa Bay. Well, the formula the first two wins is getting the time really with a four man front. You can't believe him because you can't surprise him can't disguise You have to just make sure your defensive line gets to him and the same state that with three Statics and each of the first two meetings, five interceptions they forced in the first two minutes. I don't expect either of those totals to hit again. But they've got to make him uncomfortable and speed up his cock with just their form Improv. The good thing is their defensive line is healthy for this game, too. You had a homework assignment are and those on the lake yet. Is it back? It's funny. I started texting people wouldn't go when I found out I was going on. I still have a mixed jury on this, but they are back up and running for business. I heard some houses reviews. I do not have a personal encounter. So again, this would be a continuing green. Hopefully when we continue to talk about in there trying thanks so much, Mike appreciate enjoy the game this weekend, too. Thank you guys. "Or was that just a dominant defensive performance for New Orleans? They had a kind of opportunities. Leslie basic drops. Potential interceptions in that game, too. So on down a lot of game late in the game really was out of hand. But, um, you know, it isn't the chains have done a really good job all year of getting pressure. Was their defensive line and given opportunities for that secondary, and now they're going to be as healthy and deep in the second areas have been all year, so that is something they can absolutely do. Mike. We appreciate it jumping on for a few minutes. I know that the maybe there are some fans around the NFL and I know that in New Orleans, definitely that feel the sage have gotten the raw end of the deal. The last several years, you know, the miracle of Minnesota and every other non call against the Rams and things like that. Nobody in Chicago's pulling for the Saints. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that does that. Come up as you approach this playoff series now. Well, I would say this. I mean the things they're sort of the poster team for how hard it is. Get to a Super Bowl. Um, as you mentioned, they've had so many minutes spent. This is their seventh trip. To the playoffs since they went to the super and they've fallen short of getting back there with with all those things. Another funny wrinkle. The only three teams in NFL history have ever gone 13 and three and knocked out in the first round by it happened twice and now they're a two seed. That isn't getting a first round. Bye because they extended. It seems that they used up all their Carmen 2009. Let's see if they can finally break through it. That's amazing, Mike. We appreciate it jumping out for a few minutes. We'll talk to you soon. All right. Thank you. Thanks, Mike. Mike triplet from ESPN NFL Nation. I can't feel bad about it. I mean, you know, I know, I know. But if you had known if you had no dog in the fight Mean everything He just said. I mean, you know, the Minnesota miracle why they got doesn't tackle digs at that point, And then you know the non call against the Rams, where they've actually changed rules because of it. And, uh, is remarkable. I mean, I would like to be a fan of a team that you know, has a seven trips and goes every right as an opportunity. And actually looks like the real deal until they don't go to the Super Bowl. That would be nice. Uh, Mitch, Mr Risky getting ready to go up against the saints. He wasn't the quarterback when they met before and Mitch talked about going up against New Orleans. They play tough. They play tough and they play hard nosed football and they're gonna be in your face and they're gonna try to change it up with a bunch of defeat. Voices and try to confuse you with different looks and, um e think. When you go against a team that gives you different looks and tries to confuse the quarterback. You just gotta be on point with what you what plays you have in your game plan and where you need to go with the football verse. Whatever. Look, they're showing. So for me. It's just gonna be a big study week on our game for him and film study and just making sure that I'm on the same page with my guys and whatever. Look, we get that Um, we're in the right play, and and we can have a successful play out of whatever they try to bring out us. Uh, again, It's gonna be efficiency on 1st and 2nd down, staying out of Third lungs and being in those third man, Jules that we've been better at these last few weeks and staying on the field. So once we get down in the red zone is gonna be huge to come away with points. But we've got a lot of respect for this defense, and we know it's gonna be a good challenge this weekend. Yeah, He sounds like he's ready, He says he's prepared will see. You know if that matters at all. When the Bears and saints take the field a little less than an hour from now we come back. We'll see how our polls are doing. On the Bears will also give you some of our bold predictions. We've got Jeff Dickerson joining us at three o'clock and don't forget before we're out of here will play our bears 2020 season in review, And, as you said earlier, it's been up and down throughout the entire course of the year, one of the stranger years you'll ever hear and you get a chance to hear all the highlights a little bit later on here when the game's over, Don't forget. I know we have Notre Dame basketball but assumes Notre Dame basketball's over. Hopefully, it's His bears game goes a little bit long yesterday. The second game of the day went toe like 7 20. So there's a good chance that you know one Notre Dame will be over and hopefully their post cable show will be near over. And then it will have Jeff Miller and also Howard Griff is with the postgame show for two hours, taking your calls and talking about the Bears and hopefully surprising everybody and knocking off the New Orleans Saints. "Mike the say It's got to be pretty excited. They got everybody back to this game, don't they? Yeah, The timing is good In some of that was by design. They decided Michael Thomas was playing through his ankle injury or about six weeks and playing okay. I'm never getting quite fully healthy. So they decided. Let's shut him down to the last three weeks of the regular season and try to get him back close to 100% or the playoffs. So not only is he back They're hoping that they're going to get may be the best version of Michael Thomas that they've done since week. Wanton and obviously Making sure to get Alvin Camaro back from the reserve coded list. Eyes a big boost, so they're not the only ones they were doing the same thing with a couple of their safeties. There's about as healthy as they've been all year. Mike. It's amazing when you think that Freeze and comm ERA and Michael Thomas have only been on the field for 10 quarters throughout the entire season together the van in the field, and yet this team can still put up 30 plus points per game on average. Um, was that say about the coaching or the quarterback in particular who's had the better season? Sean Payton and Drew Brees. Well this season. I think you'd probably say Peyton and really, I think he's sort of cemented his legacy and the recent years in this kind of four year stretch have become A little more of a run heavy team. They're actually ran for more yards this year than they have since 1983 and and he's won. He's gotten 18 1 record now without breathing quarterback. I went five and Oh, With Teddy Bridgewater last year three and one with Taysom Hill this year. Um, this very lean on Camaro more while Thomas. There's so much time Thomas missed nine games, Camara For a while there looks like he might be the offensive player of the year on a lot of that also is a tribute. How good that's all offensive line is in New Orleans, but they're really good protecting Drew Brees and really good running the ball. But It shows that the states can do in a lot of different ways. Mike triplet from ESPN joining us here on ESPN 1000. There wasn't a lot of talk about it even here this week, but did the NFL Purposely have this game on Sunday. So that Alec American play because if it was yesterday, he would not have been off the list. Right? Correct. I mean, I don't think so. Um, although I do think The decisions of who's playing in these games has a lot to do with, you know, TV ratings networks and the mask up. Stay one. So I did kind of think it had a better chance of being on Sunday because of the Chicago market. Yeah, maybe the networks prefer. Hey, we like get now That's America. And instead of a none of us are gay, But the look you know the state Sandra paranoid. They're gonna put it on Saturday because charity think the league hates the same. They put Tampa Bay They put Tampa Bay on a Saturday night Made Tom Brady play out cold. Whether at night on a short week, and you know the Buccaneers didn't have time to get all their players back. So I don't know necessarily that the things played favorites with the Saints, but it's certainly certainly ended up working out well for them. So the Bears are missing. Roque want Smith and that's huge on defense for the Bears. Saints are missing. Trey Hendrickson 13.5 sacks, but they do get back irritants CJ Gardner Johnson and we remember Last time the two teams met. He got Jovon winds to punch him in the helmet because you know, he pulled his mouth guard out, But I love CJ tweeted out. I'm back And here's the guy was 69 66 tackles and 13 passes defended. Five tackles for loss, hey, might entertain people his own locker room, but he's a pretty damn good football player. Yeah, It will be interesting sidelight to watch today because, um, you know, emotions could play a part in this game with people who still have the residual that feeling, And that's the thing the same after Lloyd. I'm sure they've talked about that because Look, I mean, when you're the favorite in a game like this, you just got to make sure you know you're not giving stupid creepy. You know, You don't want to give personal foul penalties. Roughing the passer penalties, turnovers, big plays. So I'm sure I'm sure they want to make sure nothing goes awry. And in that area, Same with anything out. Yeah, There's no doubt I want to ask you about true breeze. A couple weeks ago at it all, It's not like every rib he had was broken or fractured. I mean, what what? What's his condition right now? He's look. He's another one who the timing has worked out well because he came back and played the final three games of the season. And he was definitely still showing a lot of rust and limitations in his first game looks better in his second game, look even better last week. Um Andre actually has thrown some balls down the field further than he was earlier in the season. Okay, so I think we're gonna get Version of degrees. That is You know, as long as he looks In his age 41 season. We're not going to get the 2011 Drew Brees or anything like that, but I don't think he's really battling too many limitations. So the Saints defense, NFL best type for NFL best 18 interceptions, five against Carolina. Last week was that the said speak more to Carolina's disarray..

"Hitting the kickoff on the points Bet Sports Book pregame show Chicago's home for Sports, ESPN $1000 Way had some high scoring games, and now we got the game we're watching. Today. Baltimore and Tennessee. Not exactly what you'd expect. 17 13 game is here late. Third early, fourth, whatever. But Yes, and weird plays by The Baltimore QB and and and Derek Henry's not be able to do anything. The whole game. There's some hidden. Go on there. Just 32. And she brought the brought the lumber there on that play, and I'm surprised Baltimore being at her. I mean, Turn around Baltimore put brought the lover against Tennessee. I'm surprised Tennessee be in Baltimore's 40 yard line. Didn't go for it on fourth and two, but you know, they want it. So there you go. Yeah, well, the over is not looking really good. So I just was a total there. I want to say 50 Lucy. It was high. Yeah, Yeah, it was. It was not, I thought would be some scoring in this 1 54.5. Yeah. Sounds like you might invested on in that e could have Could have also taken the Baltimore minus six. No minus three. Okay? They're just, you know, just do anything at this point. I'd rather just split. Just give me a split that we find. Well, maybe Teddy will tell us what we should be doing. Karma. Karma already told us the underdogs have been barking since 2016. But Have so far Tennessee is not covering right there. Getting a three and 17 13. Yeah, I got Baltimore Man history, So Yeah, well, see, I thought there was a bear's line up to 14 yet. I don't know. I don't think I don't think it's actually I don't think it has. Let's check in. We'll check in with our guy. We'll check in with Teddy Green stand out of points about sports book. Teddy. The game has been, You know, it's one has been going back and forth a little bit, but has been the highest one of the week. Let's see. How's it going today? So far, it teddy Good afternoon, Fred and welcome to know juice Sunday at points Bet Whether you like the bears or perish the thought the Saints both are being offered it plus 100. That's even money. Novick. The line opened it ate, spent most of the weekend 10 and now sits a 10.5. Perhaps surprising, the public is on the bears. With both 59% of the tickets and 60% of the money on Chicago. The total is 48 a half and two thirds of the money is on the over as always, points that is offering hundreds of ways to bet the game. Drew Brees over under for passing yards is 270.5 minutes. Travis Keys is to 41.5 Alvin Kamara is plus 400 to score the first touchdown, followed by Latavius Murray at plus 600. Even Montgomery is plus 900. If you want to safer bet, check out our booster betting on Montgomery to score a touchdown has been boosted from plus 1 25 2 plus 1 60. Good luck, Everyone. Enjoy the game. Thanks, Teddy. The my Gomery 1000 A sure thing. I mean, if if they get close to the goal line, you're thinking Montgomery's in the score. Yeah, Whenever sounds like a sure thing. Yeah, I don't know. It's you again. You mentioned that New Orleans defense. Fourth in the league gets the run. And again the bears coming off a game where they were not effective at all, where barely won one for five against Green Bay. So you can't You can't do that today. I mean, you will be in the dust and such thing that public money is on the Barrys. And maybe it's just the trend of the underdog and you kept getting some real value. This line keeps going up, right? But if we're to go over People betting on New Orleans while surpassing their their average of 30 points a game or they betting on the Bears toe. Come up with 567 more points in the 19 over on under. They have right now. Will you think about it when they met in week eight. I don't know what the over under was for that game, but I would think it would have been higher than 49. In over time it got to 49 2026 23. So You know, I think with all the guys they got back, and we're gonna check in with Mike Triplet from ESPN NFL Nation, the Saints writer, But, you know, they've got everybody back the at the Harrises back. Michael Thomas is back Alan Camaros off of the covert list that they got everybody back everyone so you would think that they'd be able to score some points. Unless the Bears defense Rings it unless the Bears defense shows what they saw in the first half of the season, and, like I said, even losing 26 23 in overtime, That's not awful when you give it up, 26 points to the Saints in OT, when, um You know they're averaging 30 points for the year, so the defense did step up and played a pretty decent game except for a couple of plays that got loose and Alan Camaro's a guy that can do that, And so they just got up. You know, they got to play well, and with all the guys that the Bears have down with Roque want Smith and Jalen Johnson. I don't think it's amazing. I'm looking at Twitter and seems like people thought Jalen Jackson had chance to play. Now. You practiced on a limited basis a little bit throughout the week. I never thought he was coming back. Did you know I mean, there's questionable and shoulder. I didn't hear the coaches even kind of given inkling that it was possibility and So it's not a surprise when the Interactives came out today that he's still out and talk about real Quant Smith being out one of our Twitter poll questions is which Bears defenseman has to be a star today to help fill that void. Um, I guess no surprise because hello, Mac is the guy and he's the study. He's the guy gave up all the draft. All the trade resource is and you're paying him all that money 60% saying he's gotta be the guy. Guess a team picks and 17.8% currently in the poll because I think most people say he brings it all the time. You know what you're gonna get from them. He's going to leave it out in the field and your guy Robert Quinn. He's your guys since he's not. Yeah, nobody else's guy Don't 15 or 16.4%. Leave. The $90 million man who's getting $30 million this year is is going to do anything. No. Today we'll look in here, it says here. Quinton Mac, have a combined salary hit on the salary cap of 20. In 2020 north of 32 million. They've combined for 11 sex. Okay. You want a folk for better? Yeah. Better value there..

"Everyone's having a great day. We're inching closer towards wild card weekend. It's going to be an extravaganza Football three games on Saturday three more on Sunday, including Bears and saints, 3 40 local time kick You can watch that game on CBS. You can watch it on Nickelodeon. We talked to no evil, An evil son. Yesterday I was gonna be on the call it Nate Burleson a little bit more for the younger audience. Maybe sit down with the kids and watch some of that. SpongeBob will be part of it. My kids absolutely loves SpongeBob. I guess anybody about what? Under the age of 25 probably loves SpongeBob like I'm this SpongeBob. I'm too old for that. Do you Could do the boys like SpongeBob? Your car they boys did when your kids they love SpongeBob. I mean, like, it's a phenomenon, you know? I love the man Still to this day, the crab Daddy? Yeah, I'm a committed loving pipes. This stuff. It's nonsense. I mean, I said, that's on in the background. Like what are you guys watching the one they still like for? It's like sarcastic bite, and it's punching. Um, thoughts is South Park? Yes, that they love South Park. Still, even this year and I got a little taste of South Park as a kid like that was that was kind of I want to say about mid nineties That was kind of coming into its own a little bit. So I was in high school. I was in college, I guess. Favorite character Carman Self Park, a Cartman. Mr Hankey the Christmas Now that Christmas poo is pretty good. Yeah, it's probably I don't think I don't know the NFL's gonna be inviting Trey Parker and Matt Stone probably do some South Park crossover with their broadcast any time, So I doubt it's SpongeBob and the kids from Nick. I get it. It's carbon in your co and let's get out to the Krone hotline and say hi to Mike Triplet. He covers the Saints for ESPN NFL Nation, and he joins us now. Preview the game. My kite, Everybody Happy New Year. Into you. So you guys had to settle for me instead of you know the animated analyst But I'll try to do my best Can we couldn't come up with SpongeBob? I mean, my goodness, Triplet. I think you'll be fine, Esso. I mean, the same to same feel pretty confident. I mean, the bears really back their way in there. Eight. Nate, You don't want to overlook opponents in this league. Certainly the plants and we know what the postseason has been like for the poor Saints the last couple years, but They got to feel confident about this game. Don't they might Yeah, but I think you just said it. I mean they lost in the wild card round when they were more than a touchdown favorite against the Vikings at home. Last year. S O. I'm sure they'll leave nothing to chance. And they you know, obviously had to go into overtime to beat this bear steam earlier than on the Bears are playing even better now than they were and a little healthier now than they were. But Yes, The thing about the Saints is it's It's sort of the same versus the Saints in a lot of cases where they play up to their potential. They're stealing is as high as any team in the league, and they just need to make sure they play a clean game. They feel pretty confident against any opponent if they could do that. I think it's very easy for, especially if you're not a football fan outside of New Orleans, Mike, I think it's easy just to think of this team and think of the offense. Think of Sean Payton and Breeze and Tamara and Thomas. And tasting Helen like the whole shebang, And I guess that it's easy for the defense to kind of get lost in the shuffle, But the kind of year the D had you know this team finishes number one overall. Devi away Number two and defensive Devi away. Did the defense exceed expectations greatly or did they kind of expect that they'd be this good? Well, you're exactly right about the perception of the Saints. And it's funny because when I've been talking about this match up a couple of times the strength of the Saints this year's on both lines. The offensive line on the defense of line they run game is the most rushing yards I've had since 1983 and their defense finished fourth in the hours allowed and second TV away like you mentioned This is sort of been happening. Um Throughout this current four year stretch. The Saints have now won four straight NFC South titles, and they've done it with a more well rounded team. Running game on obviously Alvin Kamara big part of that, but great offensive line playing and really get defensive play. This is not the Saints that throw for 5000 plus yards every year with Drew Brees. And they're sunk. If they can't do that, they can win in a variety of different ways actually threw for fewer yards than they ever have in the brief Pinera, this is this the best job coaching by Sean Payton with all the things the way that you're started. It's it's you can certainly make an argument is everything they've had to navigate that. I mean, just last year, they went 13 and three Would breeze missed five games and and Teddy Bridgewater had to start in his place, Eh? So that was that was a leading contender. But it's been a lot more of the same this year. You're right. Michael Thomas has only played seven years. Actually breeze. On Michael Thomas have only played 10 quarters together this whole season, so they're hoping to get him back. Pretty close to full health. This this could be his close to full health as as breathing. Thomas have been together since we want That's kind of crazy. I mean, breeze. Excuse me, Thomas and tomorrow are are definitely expected to be full Go, though. On Sundays that right, Mike? Yeah, I think neither has been Openly discussed by the Saints. But this was always the target from Michael Thomas News back in practice yesterday, um, where he said the other day that he thinks the three weeks off that he just took his really done him Good..

"We know can run the football if they want to get creative with him and the guy that brought up from the practice squad, a rookie running back Tony Jones Jr. So you know, it's not completely dire straits like what we saw when the Saints Went into Denver and one when they had really no quarterbacks to choose from what makes things more difficult for the Saints. Is there also about as thin it receiver because of traditional injuries? Michael Thomas trick on Smith and down to here is still out at the receiver position. That was Saints reporter Mike Triplet. The Saints would need losses from the Pacer for the Packers and the 40 Niners, as well as a win against the Panthers. For that to happen, it is a new year, but it's obviously the same old problems as Cove. It is impacting multiple teams in the NFL. The Browns had to close their training facility after a positive test on the coaching staff that, of course, ahead of their very important match up against the Steelers on Sunday. And they need to win in order to make the playoffs as either a number 56 or seven seed. The Washington football team controls their own destiny. All they need is a win over the Eagles and the NFC East. One thing that would certainly help them with that veteran QB Alex Smith.
