Again, this is all on the outer loop of the capitol beltway. Montgomery county were traveling well both directions on the beltway. No problems were reported on 95 between the two beltways and we are a bit slow northbound on the BW Parkway finding minor volume delays when 97 up through the area route 32. We're a good shape on two 70, no issues leaving the I 70 interchange in Frederick all open southbound two 70 down from a urbana Gaithersburg all clear down to the lane divide. Traffic moving nicely from the capitol beltway via eastbound route 50 out to the Chesapeake Bay bridge currently we do have three lanes open westbound two lanes going eastbound. Over in Virginia, we're in good shape on the beltway in both directions, no problems on 66 or three 95, but starting to get that minor delay, if you will, southbound 95, where you start to bunch up before the quantity is slow over the bridge, which clear one 23 coming up on Potomac bills. "Money news. What's that strange number to the left of your account number on your checks? I'm Greg McBride, but the answer coming up. Traffic and weather on the 8s, we go to Ralph Fox in the WTO P traffic center. The Baltimore Washington Parkway continues to get our attention at this hour. There was an earlier problem spot this southbound in the area of the capitol beltway due to a down tree in the left lane. It's the left and in some cases there's debris in the right. So you've got some slowing there. Also southbound one 97 had the right side block to the crash due to a crash expect some full lane closures there. Now, on the inner loop of the capitol beltway, the ramp to get to northbound on the Parkway has lanes blocked there due to a crash as well. Folks, around the Parkway, be careful, will you? I know that I know the roads are wet, but you're going to need some extra time. You're going to watch for slowing. And with down trees, you're not going to see it till you get right on it. If that's the concern, definitely want to give yourself some extra time. Foxhall road back in the district, this southbound before canal road has all lanes blocked on the southbound side. They've got two way traffic in the northbound lane. So you're going to see some slowing there while they get that cleared up and cleared out of the roadway. Back on the Maryland side, Connecticut avenue between the Kensington Parkway and the capitol butt way had two right lanes blocked that appears to be in better shape. It appears to be moved off to the right. Things are moving a bit better there on the Virginia side, 95 southbound, that ramp to the fairfax county Parkway had all lanes, blocked due to an earlier crash, also 66 westbound at nutley street, right lane block due to a work zone. One more down tree. This one in Stafford route one both ways in the area of courthouse road. You want to watch for slowing through that spot as well. Fox WTO traffic. We'll begin in Virginia run in 95 out of Fredericksburg. You're looking good, little delay in woodbridge. Then again, as you move through, lorton and newington, three 95, you're fine so far, but heavy. Did you make the trip passing edsel road watch again? Three 95 north, I think you've got the westbound lanes of two 36 closed with our work zone. Eastbound had been last week, so now this may very well affect our northbound travelers to go west on two 36. Now earlier, remember we'd had a tree reported down, George Washington Parkway, northbound after Mount Vernon, the northbound lanes had been closed, traffic had been using the south by lanes to get by. There's no delay in the areas, which makes us think at this point, possibly the activity is gone. Now you're in good shape on four 95 between Alexandria and mcclain should find your travel lanes open. However, as you leave Virginia into Maryland, callers had reported possibly on the inner loop on the legion bridge. There were a bunch of cars and maybe a tractor trailer with flat tires so there could be some debris on the bridge, state authorities are aware now. 29 and nutley street, some flashing traffic signals in Maryland two 70s heavier, leaving urbana down toward one O 9. Be carefully to make the trip on 27. It was slowing. Before you got down toward route 80, apparently we did have some lanes opened and then closed again, then reopened. Northbound very well may be blocked again, but just be careful follow direction to 27 southbound before you get down toward route 80. Now you will find we'd had a wreck off the roadway vehicles in the ditch, 95 southbound after two 16, the activity was over on the shoulder. Looking better downtown, we had an early morning crash that was on the freeway, southbound on three 95 after the third street tunnel toward main avenue, all the activity is now gone. "Check on the commute this morning with Jack Taylor. Okay, good news where we'd had potentially a little bit of a situation in manassas going 66 headed east. As you approach and pass the Prince William Parkway the work had been along the right side of the roadway, two left planes had been getting by, but it was causing issues off northbound business two 34 because the ram to go east on to 66. There was no merge area because of the shoulder work on 66, traffic had to stop on that ramp. Now with everybody backing up, hopefully at least at this point, everything will be okay and again with The Rain showers through the area, just make sure to take it easy We're looking good now at a Gainesville east toward Rosalind. We're a little busier in woodbridge, 95 headed northbound coming up from Dale City. It's the only slowdown again between Fredericksburg and Springfield. There's work 95 going south down near 17 and found with Cruz you've been working along the far, left side of the roadway. There's a delay building in the district. On D.C. two 95 southbound, police activity right now blocking the ramp to go inbound on east capital street. There is some fire department activity in northwest, watch for the flashing lights along Wisconsin avenue, blocked between M and K streets. Now in Maryland, we're fine out of Frederick two 70 south. We're good to go between the beltways on 95 and the BW Parkway. So far, no early troubles on the beltway itself through Montgomery and prince George's counties. Just be careful if you're rolling through, you may have some shower activity that hopefully is pretty much on its way pulling out of here. We go right back out to the now very damp roads in many areas starting to see some traffic slowing on the beltway, especially inter loop in Montgomery county from the leech and bridge past river road where we normally had some high standing water over on the left side. As you get toward two 70, the two 70 spur exit 38, you will see the slowing extra caution, you don't have as good a footing as you would normally, more following distance, less speed with all that said, people seem to be behaving themselves, please keep up the good behavior. No issues currently pending in Maryland, two 70 is quiet, the earlier crash we had on three 70 eastbound beneath I two 70 is gone. 95 BW Parkway now quiet between the beltways and so it's 50 between the bay bridge and the beltway with no issues in the travel aid, but again traveling with caution. About way no reported delays Maryland or Virginia in or outer loop in Virginia at three 95 and 95 damp, but passable as far south as Fredericksburg in both directions 66, The Rain was enough to the threat of rain was enough to wash out the work zones and so they never did set up, we have nice quiet lanes, though they are wet between haymarket and the roslin tunnel, there is one issue that did crop up, eastbound ramp from the check that it's eastbound 66 the ramp to go east on 50, that ramp now blocked for weekend work. Well, joining us now is brandy schaefer town manager of warrants and brandy thanks for being with us appreciate it. No, thank you. Have you been out and about yet? Have you had a chance to see how much damage you have in warranted? Yes, actually, it appears it kind of came through parts of fock here and then warrenton took a direct hit on my own health and car included. So I've been doing assessment on foot and walking and checking on neighbors and now here at town hall working through the assessment and next steps in the storm response. What are you hearing from your emergency crews in terms of the extent of the damage brandy? Yeah, I think what's different about this damage is, you know, we're used to storms coming through and seeing some limbs down and some general damage, but this is pretty sustained damage town wide and also its whole trees. So those big large trees coming down have taken down quite a few power lines and have blocked a lot of our transportation network and so just kind of managing the traffic and dealing with live power lines that are down and also trying to check on homes that have trees on them and make sure that no one is injured. Do you have any information about possible injuries from the storm Thankfully, at this time, we do not. And so I'm really glad for that. I'm definitely still checking homes and knocking on doors and making sure but at this time we have no reported injuries just some serious structural damage and then also obviously town wide power outages. So between the power outages and all of the power lines that are down, have you guys suffered any notable communications problems? We definitely felt it early on trying to communicate with each other our cell phones were struggling to go through. We were struggling to get messages through. We do have a separate network that we use in an emergency situation. And we were able to communicate through that. But initially, just our regular personal cell phones and things like that, we were not able to get calls to go through. So there was definitely an impact in communications early on. Now, this didn't rise to the level of a tornado, wasn't officially a tornado, but was considered a destructive storm. So do you, are you setting up a way for folks in the community to get resources that they may need to clean up from this storm? Yeah, I would definitely say as a native Texan it sure felt like a tornado. I know they've just reported we were in 80 mile an hour winds and some straight line rain. It was very intense when it came through. And so we are starting that now. Our emergency services coordinator police chief deputy chief and available officers building inspectors and all public works are responding and are here now. And so we are going through those steps to coordinate with Fox your county and surrounding jurisdictions on what might be needed to assist anyone that is going to be without power for an extended period of time or if they had a structural collapse and we need to work on finding them a place to be. So we're currently working through that at the moment. We've only got ten seconds. How long will this clean up take generally? Do you have any idea? Well, I wish it was ten seconds for us, but I definitely anticipate we will be working through this clean up for several days. These are very, very large trees and I anticipate cleanup will be for at least two to three days after the storm. Brandi, thanks so much for joining us.
