Needed to count them. As of Tuesday, the State Journal says clerks reported problems with just over 1500 absentee ballots That's out of 1.45 million submitted so far, just under 1000 of them returned to voters so they could be corrected the remaining that were rejected for a variety of reasons that don't necessarily mean the voters who submitted them didn't get to vote. It's just It's so cool and feel so American and so democratic and whistling The Star Spangled Banner as you walk in. I mean, there's just a cz the feeling and you don't get that when you drop off absentee ballot, perhaps, but the point is to get it in, and I think that's the thing that everybody is stressing vote first of all and get it in and that's on you to make sure it happens and they're saying Don't put it in the mail right again Tuesday. "In Wisconsin Stevens Mike Spaulding filling in for Eric bill said Jordan bruising is always on this Wednesday edition so give me a warm day out there today and I and I guess you know as always as we all try to figure out what the reality is in the stay at home safer at home the world we live in now it's we can see what's happening other places in the world Mike and and for some of those countries the stories aren't that good yes specifically in Spain we get the latest from maybe sign Matt McGarry at the foreign desk the death toll from covert nineteen in Spain is now greater than China's but still only second to the toll in Italy new numbers from Madrid show a sharp increase of a seven hundred thirty eight fatalities since yesterday bringing the number of people killed in Spain by the disease two three thousand four hundred thirty four so yes I never continue Steve as you mentioned to increase really bad still in Italy Italy right now is reporting more than sixty eight hundred deaths that about sixty nine thousand cases the U. S. second only it'll be in the number of overall cases we have about fifty five thousand here across the states in China though again that number as far as total cases the highest eighty one thousand two hundred and eighteen we mentioned it quickly yesterday but it seems like there is some more good news at least out of the water area they have lifted some of the restrictions that have been in place it in that area since early February so it looks like we may have a bit of kind of at least an idea of how long this might last in that kind of lines up with what the president says he wants to see and that is having the U. S. back open by Easter look at it will only do it if it's good and maybe we do sections of the country we do large sections of the country they could be to the president's advisers though most notably Dr Anthony Fauci say that Easter deadline will need to be flexible just for reference Easter will be on April the twelfth yeah and I I watch them I watch as I do most every day of the presidents comments vice president as medical professionals that he has a good to see Anthony Fauci get back on the stage which I think is reassuring for a lot of us who really appreciate his wisdom as well as doctor Deborah Berks but I think a lot of us are sitting here hearing the president say yeah I love to see this the economy and and folks back out by Easter but then we see the reality is that the lot of the the faith groups putting right here Milwaukee archbishop bishop list thank you saying you know not going to happen here there's a there's a request by the president there's a wide by the president there's desire I think to kind of see things improving but until we see numbers cooperating with that argument I don't know that that's going to change much and for all of us who don't like being trapped in their homes for the most part and and don't like being forced to work from home which is a new reality for a lot of people this is something gonna have to deal with but to try to force the situation or to make it seem better than it is we don't know yet in this country with exploding cases in New York City and now Louisiana we have the the early hot spot and in Washington state we don't know where this is going to go yet and all of this all this closures and all the things the measures put in place to kind of restrict us are all trying to keep the numbers down here we see what happens in other countries we don't want that to happen here until we get a handle on on this exposure and the risk and the serving the community spread angle this thing we have to hunker down that's kind of where we're at right now yeah we have some good news out of Washington DC will release some potentially good news out of DC this morning partisan politics being put aside the Senate and house say they have come to an agreement on a route will roughly be a two trillion dollar coronavirus economic stimulus plan ABC's Terry Moran has more on the dealer rescue bill providing over eight hundred billion dollars in support for businesses big and small boosting unemployment benefits and sending one time payments of twelve hundred dollars directly to most American taxpayers the legislation could now be passed and enacted within days welcome news to laid off workers who won't get a paycheck this week so again that was after fifteen hours of debates in the in in the capital so they have been given a bunch of grief for not being able to find a way to to get a deal done it seems like one could be here on the president's desk before the day is over yeah of course the devil's gonna be the details here what does this look like what's in its there's been a lot of speculation on both sides that you know maybe Democrats made Republicans try to sneak stuff and I I hope at the end of the day and we still have to have the the bill signed or at bill voted on its and then signed by the president that we get a bill that helps people as quickly as possible in a little bit later in the show will details of the numbers I'm actually curious what people think about the the check to be mailed out to people across this country adults only to get some cash about fifteen hundred Bucks twelve hundred Bucks another number I signed again final details still to be worked out and then you know twenty four hundred for couples is that enough well that will that help stimulate the economy enough that once we get back out of our houses things seem to be moving well will they spend that money and I've had a lot of conversation a lot of people on social media email and and thanks all the folks who take the time to email me you can always do that Steve that's could yet the V. "My voice there's little clamps all right so it's cool today but we're going to be okay it's gonna warm up act to get the weather forecast long term looks pretty good and kind of back to summer thing shorter show today so I'll be done at eight thirty back some does say thirty why would I be already done that we don't really know yeah that would be extremely sharp that's when I start eleven thirty handed off the brewers and the rap of that series so I love sports you know this is Mike Spaulding right I love sports and I love talking about the Packers and then we'll get some of that and and the brewers. there's a lot of things I could do on the show some of the mix of today little sports or actually have some common we're bring Wilder's back today Hayes good he's funny he didn't get enough time I know will last time in the bay area actually had a chance to sit down and talk with them he's good we're gonna bring him back we can make sense of sports and serious stuff I'm looking for the show even though it's shorter. well I mean we will not get away without mentioning there is a debate tonight all yes speaking of sports yeah yeah a lot of sports analogies the ten top democratic presidential candidates will be on stage night Houston democratic candidates qualify for this debate here at Texas Southern University and hosted by ABC news as front runner in the polls Joe Biden remains at center stage flanked by Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren the first time those three leaders share a stage comma Harris to judge Cory Booker in any clubs are are among those Democrats seeking a moment to break through was still crowded field. so does this debate it's the heavy hitters are meeting for the first time really the yeah yeah yeah together and mentioned Biden Sanders and and Warren all together does it increase the intrigue I think so I mean just one night didn't increase the entry because you don't have to watch for two whole nights with you know twenty candidates I think it's down to the big three in you you mentioned them I did see a comment yesterday on social media from my hands you Yang one of the candidates is he on the stage for this one or not yes yes yes okay so here he is apparently gonna do something tonight's that no other presidential candidate has ever done that's what they pushed out there we think that is I don't know he he shot baskets it rally he's crowd served at a rally actually crowd surfing is kind of stealing but o'rourke's thunder. I don't think we ever seen that in a you know you can really be topical and vape on the town mall see maybe that's it maybe they can do a free throw cop I don't know what what what what what what is position be I'm vaping those he's pro savings are going to be on the debate I don't know if it's providing I don't know either he's a tech guy so maybe I don't I'm I'm excited to see it's although I'm I'm not gonna I'm gonna I'm freely admits I'm gonna sample it's because I can I'm bored out of my skull watching these. ten people twenty people debates just. it's just numbers my brain so I have to be a you have typed little bits of that is just all I need all right we'll get back to sports and I love talking about sports and the Packers they will be hosting in Lambeau field on Sunday for the first time this regular either and you will be there will you be doing the wave at any point you know I don't like the way where does before I'm not a big fan of the way when Rogers appreciate that you know my only ask is is that we don't do the wave.

"I'm your host, Mike. Spaulding, dan. Cad Dookie of good city brewing. Join me this morning in the world of micro brews without risk. There is no reward. We're talking bit of off the air about your recent expansion this year into the deer district and kind of lining yourself with that whole new development downtown. What was it like getting that off the ground? And how did that come together? Yeah. So that I mean, I think what happened was we opened our doors of burry, and Pfizer form broke ground the same weekend in two thousand sixteen. So we have, like we're like on this parallel track our business, and then that whole development and the I, I think they released maybe rendering of what they wanted to do for the entertainment plaza. Was that fall fall two thousand sixteen and it was very clear that they wanted a brewery there, so, you know, we're entrepreneurs and kind of exists somewhere in our mind. But then fast, Florida year and our Burris actually, located close to a lot of multifamily housing, a lot of bucks, staff in front office actually lives on east side or did at one point. So we actually got to know some of the bucks people because they come to very and they were still looking to attract tenants. And so. Then we went through a process where they brought in a half a dozen Burs to sort of propose for that space. So that's kind of how it started. And our mindset was that was part of the original plan. But our mindset was, if there's going to be buried on there like, why not us. Yeah. Absolutely. We are competitive. So then if I go down there and go to bucks games and go to a different berry. I probably would not feel excited about the do you know. So then we signed, we signed a letter of intent like like wait twenty twenty seventeen signed in the spring of last year, and then construction kinda ran from October first through January, so we opened January first one down there and. Just. Yeah. I think we just kind of came out of whatever just happened. I'm not sure but it was pretty crazy case scenario. Right. Exactly what happened start getting that process off the ground being entrepreneurs, I would assume that you're both not adverse to taking risks, but doing something that had the potential to be this high profile to this visible were there nerves involved with doing something like that going from the east side and kind of neighborhood to now into this big giant district in kind of attached to a professional sports team. Yeah. I think there's always nerves involved, but it goes back to the risk-taking elementary, we named one of our beers core beers risks. So. We wanted as a company, we want to build a culture of risk-taking, and so with, that's gonna come inherently nervousness. And because if you're not taking risks and. It's going to come. You're just gonna kinda coast and to. There certain things that, you know to, to address. But so, yeah, I mean it was a big step for us financially, and otherwise. And this was a blank canvas didn't literally did not exist. And we felt confident in the books vision for. But at the end of the day, it's certainly risks that, that we took and been really excited with how that's played out these, I for six months, but. For us. Like we talk about a lot. We wanna see more risk taking throughout the city and I think you're starting to see that with the number breeze at are opening up, and there's more entrepreneurship that that's going on. And that's that's good for the city. So we want to embody that as a, a company having opened up a new place. Do you get a lot of first timers, I people who may be only during the big brand beers that come in and want to try something new because they heard good things or just are more willing and interested to kind of expand their pallet. Because their twenty five year old son says this is a great beer. Well, I think that I know downtown has been a really different crowd than what we were used to our little neighborhood on the east side. And that's a good thing like exposes a subpoena from all over the state all over the region. Oliver, the midwest probably who are coming in for concerts bucks games, you name it. And so a lot of times, I think people don't even necessarily know what they're walking. Into like literally, they're looking to grab a beer or get somebody. And so that's where it's super important that our staff is well trained on on what we make. And what our beers, I that we can kind of guide people in the right direction people in Milwaukee still love a great pills there. And we have a great pills there. So that's by far in a way downtown like one seller. When people come in looking for something like a light beer, we usually got into that one, actually a couple of other options that are other kind of classic lager, styles. In addition to all arrive as and other things. So is beer. Guys is exciting. When he sees someone come in for the first time and say, hey, I'm open to whatever you suggest to me, because I just want to try something even if maybe I don't like it I at least want to give it a shot. We love that mentality. And I mean, that's how we approach breweries visit and you wanna get the flight and kind of sample. Many beers, as you can different styles and then have a conversation with the bartender about those fears and learn more. So we really love. Curious customers and customers who really want to explore different styles because we're for small newer brewery were pretty neekam are as Dan mentioned that we actually do lagers. I mean it's, it's double the from tation time, so it's literally, an investment for us to do that. But we, we love that styles. Well, so you can come into our Berea have anything from WPA two barley wine to pills, new image, all kinds of different styles. And there's something for everyone, and it's great and folks come in and maybe have a specific style. They like, but are also interested in exploring, others, coming up next. On WTMJ conversations. You have to constantly have our head on the swivel ball, also being true to who we are palettes they are changing.
