"The Braves coming back one night after Mike Sirotka, you know, it turns out was going to be is going to be gone for the season with his Achilles injury. And last night, it was Max free. Step it up with a chance to, you know. Kind of now looked at as the guy in this rotation and boy. Let me take there is so much like we talked a little bit about him through the offseason. Even in the last year coming into this season, you know is we got the first part training camp their spring training. I guess I should say In in early February. And Ah lot of things I like about him. Um, a lot of things that He was figuring out the off season and you know if he could improve a little bit of this prove a little bit of that, You know, we talked about the number of base runners and things like that, Um, hits walks. You know, the whip and everything that goes along with it. You look adopted. Max Freed has been so far this year too, and no and three starts 17 and 2/3 innings with only four earned runs, has not given up a homerun year, 15 strikeouts toe on ly five walks. He has a 50.79 to whip And I am a believer in whip when it comes to pictures. I am a guy that believes that whip is an important what is whip That's walks plus hits divided by innings pitched. What is that, trying to measure base runners? Facing what you're trying to look at is base runners last year, 1.334 in his whip, and we talked about trying to bring that number down. Reducing that number. Cause he is a guy that has swing and miss stuff. He is a guy that could pick up plenty of outs without contact now last night didn't actually strike out there many guys, but you know, 15 K's and three starts for him this year. The strikeouts per nine innings. 7.6 I'd like to see that number move up. Some last year was nine point for you know, last night didn't really get many strikeouts, but Had been pretty effective in the couple of starts before that, but we talked about specifically with him keep the number of base runners down. Thought his e R A. Was a little bit high last year, and you keep You keep lower that that whip number You know that tiara and everything else will come with it because you don't have many guys on base. And he's one of the few guys that you feel like in the rotation that you know when he needs a strikeout that he can find a way to get a guy out without contact. As we're watching Sean Newcomb tonight another guy times as that stuff, but it may get so wild and erratic and things like that boy. He needs a good start tonight, so there's a lot to love about about Max Freed..

"I listen to us when you're on the go and not in your vehicle, have it on your device. Watching the Braves baseball here with you as I have lead over the Blue Jays, Max free, just kind of rolling right along and look a lot of pressure on Max free now to step up and take over that a spot that he and Mike's Rocca had kind of. We're the top two guys, you know, on here. Blue Jays have a couple of guys on right now. So freeze! Gotta pitch out of a little bit of trouble. A couple of home runs in this game from Big country Big sexy. Ah, Big Bubba Rogers. Whatever. Whatever it is nice played by Freddy there on little check swing pop up. That was a nice play. I still say it's one underrated aspects. Freddy is a really good defense, the first baseman And I do think that maybe You know the idea of th ing him? Maybe isn't a great idea because I don't know. He just seems like one of those guys that maybe maybe he just doesn't need the rhythm of a game. You know, in in the inning. I mean, Beau Bock was listen, this reading something I guess on his on his column talking about that. Maybe maybe he's on to something that Maybe Freddy is better off suited to Ah, you know, just stay in the game Play first base. He kind of you know, feeds off its days in a rhythm keeps a sweat. You know all those kinds of things. So he makes a nice play there on a on a little check swing pop. That was a big out by the way through to get to get out, too. Right there with a couple of guys on first and second for Max Free, but Yeah, Braves. I mean, you don't have to figure out a way to win these games and their aces on the hill. Non Max retakes that spot over soon. It'll go make a trade for Clayton Kershaw or somebody like that will keep you up to date on all the oh, by the way it is Tuesday night, too, So we'll be doing rank him. Coming up at 10 40 as well. Jarvis back in the building, so he'll be asking the questions. But we do have rank. Um, tonight that you can hit us up on our text line on Twitter page and be a part of that. A swell and you know you can interact if you will that way. So earlier this morning, will Carol Injury expert joins the morning show each week. And, of course, a lot to talk about his Mike Sirotka goes down with the 20 Achilles and what the procedure and the recovery and everything like that is, um We're going to let you hear that interview with will as John freaking and Hugh Douglas had him on talking about When they think you know Mike Soroka will be able to come back from all of this. Hey, I'm doing stuff. Come on elected. Grim Reaper wouldn't happen like this, but well, it's unfortunate is not a career ender for Mike. No, it will. I'm fascinated by, you know, because I saw the play and I don't know if you saw it and how it happened. Will. How does how does something so Minor, you know, tear his Achilles like that. How does that happen? Yeah, It's a simple as the fact that like anything if you put too much stress on it, it gives way we've seen Kelly's in football. I'm sure you remember Terrell Suggs. Among others. Kobe Bryant famously tearing his Achilles and getting up there and shooting free throws came back from that. Well, it's like putting £110 on a rope that can only handle 100. It just gave way. And we don't really know why. He was in an awkward position. He was putting a good amount of stress, trying to change directions and the killer. He just couldn't handle it. Well, isn't one of those things where you know he makes that move and you see him and you go up Achilles. I mean, you know it is till you see it. Yeah, It is unfortunate, You know, even the one I remember, of course, Kevin Durant Recently everybody saw that There was some question about that because you have Captain injury or But normally you see it on and for the athletic trainers on the field. You know, in a second, they're doing an M r I, but that's honestly That's for a surgeon so they can see how much they're going to have to pull that back into place before they stick it back together. And it is a repair, not a replacement, as you would do with an A C L there. Just going It's that thing back together a strong as it was before, But yeah, the wonder things where the second it happened. That was the instant thought, just like now. So. So initially, what is the timeline for for injury like this? You know what with the repair and the recovery and getting back getting back on the pitch with the mouth. Yeah, exactly. It's it's been a situation where over the last. Honestly, it was Coby Bryant surgery. That was really the big change, Neela trash coming a little bit different kind of technical just the way they stitched it back together. Um, it's not complicated. It's just a different pattern. It's kind of Ah, different way of darning the hole in your sock. But you put that back together. You're walking at about three months and we're seeing players regularly come back between. Six and nine months. Adam Lee, like came back from it at right at five months, but they were pushing trying to get him back into the playoffs. So there was something go for. She looked, where six months years Or for Mike. I mean, that's January. There's no reason to rush this. So I think we'll see him pitching sometime during spring training, and when he'll be back if not on opening day, something 2021 is normal, Uh shortly thereafter. With that being said, You know, Kobe Bryant, you know, he had the same major. He didn't have a whole lot of swelling is is the lack of swelling, Ah, factory and healing healing faster. No, not really. This isn't one that normally in claims a lot unless it retract, which is the calf. Kind of bold up the leg toward me because of the the Achilles tendon actually pulls down on the calf muscle and the calf. When it uh does its thing. It's lifting the hell uh, So no, there's not a lot of information to it. There's not a lot of blood, which is why we have to repair it so quickly. Wouldn't surprise me. If Sara has the surgery really? Soon. If he stays there, it goes either to Pensacola or to Angelus. His company situations. Ah, then it might take a couple days just to fly in and get there. Well, Carol's Our injury expert joins us on the way for Dotcom hotline. He is the author of the Under The Night column. You can go under the knife and find find this a lot of questions in regards to next year. So you say 6 to 9 months, so I guess it's possible he's back. For the beginning of the season next year in the spring training probably would have So, you know, maybe go down and do some extended spring training down in Florida. And what not, but how much you know what we're talking about Pushing off..

"316 that Of course, you're watercooler talking points, 3 to 6 months in advance of anybody else That's out there. He is in midtown producing this show. Jarvis in the building at Jarvis, the 90 we'll hear from Will Carol, who joined the morning show earlier. This morning, talking about the mike Sirotka injuries and injury expert and his thoughts about the injury and the recovery time and everything that goes along with it, By the way, we're watching Summer Slam 92 as well. Flipping back and forth between the Braves Do lead two to nothing. Couple of homeruns, Tyler Flowers and Matt Matt Adams. Big What is he? He's big country or magic city pink bubble Rogers or what? Whatever it is, he's got going on for a nickname, but Good enough on Braves, Max Free. And this way. Talked about men get a couple of runs for Max Reed and let him settle in into his thing. But watching SummerSlam 92 This is such a magnificent show. Yeah. Shawn Michaels in the model Rick Martel, both basically heels, by the way. Sherri Martel. They're fighting over her. This is this is Shawn Michaels breaking off from the rockers and Marty Geneti and becoming a solo guy and what would launch him into You know, Some people tell you that he's the greatest entering worker of all time. Him and Ric flair might be the two greatest entering workers in the history of the business. It's so funny to see a young Shawn Michaels in this when you think about all the things that are going to go on. With the with Shawn Michaels. This kind of really the launch of his career. But this is a spectacular show. There's a lot of good stuff on and Rick Martel, by the way, should be in the Hall of Fame. I don't know why he's not In the Hall of Fame. He was one of eight w heavyweight champion Had a great run is the model that blindfold match with Jake? The Snake. Roberts was fantastic. Get a lot of good stuff that they did. What was it strike force with him and Tito Santana, the tag team. Lots of good stuff There is sharing my tail just took a bucket of water in her face. And now Shawn Michaels is chasing after it, Martell. So lots of fun stuff here tonight. Fun of the Braves win, too, By the way, is Mexico just rolling right along? So is the Falcons. Get ready? You know for this upcoming season, you know, obviously a unique training camp. There will be no preseason games this year. Ah, all the natural disasters. How about that? Earthquake and typhoon the former tugboat Wow. How about that? Wow, That's that's too big monster guys. But anyway, um As the Falcons get ready for You know what is going to be a unique season without question? No training camp. You know, we're not not a heavy training camp. You've got no preseason games. As of right now, everything's a go for Labor Day or the weekend after Labor Day. I guess it is for for the NFL to get things cranked up. Obviously, we've not had any real offseason workouts. Anything you know, it's just been a vote is kick ass virtual. Oh, th s and things like them. How confident do you feel about the Falcons? Look, I think there are some things too To say about the Falcons. And and maybe maybe this this franchise, maybe in hindsight. At least keeping Dan in the continuity of it, given the times that were in could be a good thing now. You know, I really did think that coming off of this season that either Dan or Thomas, one of the two guys would be out of a job and looking for a new position. I thought day and more than Thomas because I think I think Arthur's is very loyal to Thomas. But certainly I thought one of those guys would be gone. There'll be a new direction now given all the things we've gone through with the pandemic and black lives matter and social justice movement in all these kinds of things. You know, maybe, in hindsight that you know it will be a good thing that that there was some stability in the organization Now nobody could have predicted all the things that have gone on this this year. You know, in with all that, But at the same time having that stability maybe makes things a lot easier for everybody. You know, maybe not, You know, without Matt haven't learnt a new system in new terminology with any new coaches or things like that, that there are some definite advantages. About them add in the fact to as we just said, having Matt Ryan. The fact is that this team has a not just a veteran quarterback, but certainly they have their franchise quarterback in place. So you have a guy that's been through the system. You have a guy that You know? Probably. You know, I don't want to say it doesn't need a lot of work, but he doesn't need a lot of work. You have a very veteran laden team at some of your most important positions. You've got a veteran, You know, a couple of guys on your offensive line to anchor. You got a veteran quarterback. You've got the best quarterback you've ever had in history. The franchise. Obviously the best player. Maybe all of all time. The franchise is on the outside to go along with veterans and Deebo in Grady. And you know the return of Can O'Neill Ricardo Allen. Now there are certainly plenty of question marks, you know to go with it is their secondary. Good enough to hold up is their past rushed good enough to hold up. What can a J. Terrell is a rookie and Marlon Davidson is rookie be able to do Certainly there's questions about you know how much their pass rush did improve. Hard to imagine it, The passengers could be worse. I haven't Dante Fowler and have intact McKinley for at least one more year, maybe with a chip on his shoulder hard to imagine their running game being worse. Then what it was last year by adding Todd Gurley into the mix. So you feel like that Those positions are upgraded. Now look, They're chasing the two dragons, though right in their division. They're chasing the New Orleans Saints in there, chasing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers course, the saint's last couple of years. You know they've won. What? 24 games the last two years or something like that in the regular season. Not like that 23 24 games or whatever, in the regular season. They have been the big dog the last couple of years. Obviously, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in a go for broke Papa's scenario, not give them a lot of credit. I don't know if it's gonna work out, but you can't float. We can't fault them. For what the strategy is. Go get drunk and Brady keep our guys around and let's go for the World Series. Let's go try to win the World Series this year. Not a couple of years, not down the road right now. Today we've got to go win the World Series, and that's what they're doing. You know, out there So I give them credit for that. So it asked where the Falcons fall into that, You know, many people think that the factory won't be better than third in the division..

"Final update for us for the morning, What's going on, Carrie, We're gonna get right to it because coming up, I have a moment of the day first. I've never done this before. We're going to do it in just a couple of minutes will see exactly what I mean. So let's get to the highlights. Mets Braves last night and some run support for Jake. First pitch to Ramos swung on it it high in the air to right center field. Pretty deep into Hee aren't back. This one's going to go and it's gone. A homerun Wilson Ramos hits one out into the bullpen in right center field, Smith scores ahead of them, and the Mets have a seven to nothing. Lead. And even though Jacob deGrom might give a bar owner two here or there, there was safe. They wanted, winning 7 to 2. How heroes on WCBS, 80 Robby Cano. Couple of hits, including a walkie Drove in three. Michael Conforto. A couple of hits, scored a couple of runs in the Wilson Ramos home run A big part of the win. Another big part was did Graham who are wild of striking out 10/6. Not thrilled, though, with the outing because he didn't keep him off the board? They're in the fifth wasn't able to throw mile speed for strikes or where I wanted lets a couple balls over the middle and scored a couple rounds frustrated without seven hard time. Ripping ball and you know, in a couple of states on you said it all making mistakes. But, you know, the fortunate thing is we gotta win. Hey, got his first win and stop their losing streak. Mike Sirotka of the Brave suffered a Tauron Achilles in this game early on his season is over. Can I left the game with grind tightness. Quad tightness for Ahmad Rosario Jeff McNeil tightness in his back? And you also have the deal with J. D. Davis Prior to the game. He had issues with his belly. As we hear from Louise Ross. The upset stomach was probably from something. Yea or no. We're talking about that before the myself meeting Chief away like what you want. What do you doing, dude? Ah, Ro says at least however, he got himself right to D H. You took BP. Everything will look good on the field. Okay, so we get to come off the bench. And then next thing you know, this might be a good thing happened and he was ready for to go for us. McNeal thing happened during batting practice Mitts in Washington tonight. Steven Matz makes the start. As for the Yankees, and other night, they play another night. They win. They wind up winning this game 6 to 3 over the Phillies. Skip the highlight might just cause I'm short on time with what I want to Dio. Let's get to Aaron Boone just talking about this star. His team is off. They're off to their aid and one they're pounding teams on a nightly basis. Last night, you get home runs from D J. Lo Mayhew. Bright gardener, Geo are Shelagh Bones seems a machine. Happy with where we are. We need to keep grind. And now we got a day off tomorrow ahead of the tough stretch of essentially a tough road trip with a couple of double headers and a lot in a row, So we got a You know, continue to play well and and and try and keep racking them up and break. Gardner, who's been around here. The longest has enjoyed this nine games. Start this group of guys that we have It's hard not to have fun. Just got such a special group in such a great team, obviously, in a little bit of diversity here for us early on with the schedule and things like that, But whatever gets thrown away, we seem to deal with it and Just keep moving forward now, certainly more adversity, though, for the Phillies first game in a week, Garrett Cole control them for six innings eyes. He got the win his thirties. Now three and, Oh, now, tonight's game postponed because of this tropical storm, which might be upgraded to a hurricane. At some point, I'm not sure so they'll play to tomorrow in Philadelphia, starting at 405 Elsewhere from baseball, the late games, so the Rockies beat the Giants 768 11 Mariners one and the Padres knock off the Dodgersfive for 13 positive tests. What we know from the Cardinals Six players looks like seven staff members on then you've got the story of the Marlins. We heard from Derek Jeter yesterday, says his team innocent but made a couple of mistakes for sure. Relax. They let their guard down. They were getting together in groups. They weren't that were a mask as much as they should have warned. Everyone was in test with the whole spring training to point out to you. In the entire company. Should they have been doing no on that's then address Jeter Little chippy while talking to the media yesterday because of the Things. People have been saying about his club over the last few days, and, understandably so, and Angels pitcher Shohei Otani will just be a D h the rest of the season right now, day to day but shut down as a pitcher because he has re injured that repaired right elbow that happened the other day was pulled from the second inning of game. He had not been good. It is to start so far this shortened start to the season and the field of Dreams game in Iowa, postponed until next year between the White Sox. And the Cardinals. We found out the new deadline for the opt out for NF NFL players for this season. Coming up will be this Thursday at 4 p.m. And Broncos right tackle John James did indeed opt out yesterday. N ba wise nets and Bucks today at 1 30 the Nets coming off a win just a couple of days ago, you had the Lakers beat the Jazz 1 16 Wanna wait 42 for Anthony Davis? And might give me David Quinn here as we talk about Game three for the Rangers coming up later tonight. The Rangers lost the Hurricanes yesterday. For one. They're down two games to none in their play in Siri's, Quinn says, Got to be better on the ice. Perhaps if I gave you that when you play it, but I forgot to do that. Trust me when he says we've got to be better on the ice and match their effort. Caroline up to cames to none will see who they go with in goal coming up later this evening, and the Islanders face off of the Panthers at 12 noon. I want to get to moment of the day because we're doing something a little different, and it's going to take just a little while, but you'll understand why in just a moment it is brought to you by Resorts, World Casino and icy and Resorts World Catskills For updates log on to play r w dot com.

"Delaware, Maryland pencil parts of Pennsylvania, like Philadelphia, major cities that are in the path. Of the storm on up into New York and parts of New England as well. So there's ah lot of us who are bracing for it. I know I decided not to. I decided not to brave the grocery stores, so I consider myself to be a Generally brave and independent soul most of the time, but I didn't feel like braving the grocery store on on Monday, so I decided I would just batten down the hatches without it. I know a lot of you have done some preparation and in some parts Of the guests. Tropical storm warnings. The hurricane warnings have been issued in some parts of the United States along the Eastern seaboard. Definitely There's been work. Ah, ah lot of work that's gone into keeping you and your homes. Safe, and so I'm thinking of you, and we're glad to keep you company if you're up all night, listening to those howling winds. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio, yet another really, really busy Monday and Monday evening in the world of sports, and I'm not going to complain. Why would I complain? It's just there's a lot going on all of a sudden, but this is not a complaint. Just a lot to manage welders. It was like we went from Nothing sports in hibernation to a little bit. GOLF. NASCAR UFC Some soccer mixed in There's a lot of the niche sports and then boom, baseball basketball hockey, and it feels more like April or October, the two busiest months of the year in sports in sports radio in sports TV. Those of you who cover sports. So all of a sudden, it's gotten pretty crazy, but we're trying to do our best to keep up with everything. It certainly is a good problem to have so again. I'm not complaining in any way. In fact, I'm really impressed that we've got so many sports out there operating now and that as they navigate the challenges So far so far. The results have been largely positive. I know in the case of the Marlins and the Cardinals That they are Paying for some of their choices that they probably would make differently now. They're definitely cautionary tales to the rest of Major League Baseball. Teo even football as football tries to ramp up toward training camp, so we'll give you all of the latest per the usual in sports. There's the good news. There's the drama. There's the fantastic finishes, including a buzzer beater and a walk off, but There's also the negative and yet another injury coming from the world of Major League baseball and pitching terrible to hear that Mike's Arocha of the Braves has been diagnosed with the tourney Achilles and so It's one of those injuries that whether or not it's because of the long layoff, shutting down in spring training and then turning around and coming back, you know, with a mini summer camp and The interruption of what would normally be pretty extensive conditioning and workouts and stretching out. It's hard to know his injury is one that will require not just surgery. But months and months of rehab and recovery. And as we talked about what Jonathan Isaac of the Orlando Magic Whether it's a contact injury, whether it's a false step. In the case of both Roka and Isaac. That's how it appears. These are huge blows to them both personally. As well as professionally. So they're young star in Atlanta, Soroka lost for the season. Short as it may be a spring instead of a marathon. It's not going to be a short recovery for Mike himself, So he tears his right Achilles. And he had Delivered this pitch to JD Davis the game against the Mets third inning. And the ball was grounded toward first base. And as Soroka Who would finish with the pitch and the follow through. Makes the step toward first base to cover the bag. He crumples in that first step off the mound and You could tell he was in a lot of pain, just by his reaction seemed to know right away that this was something extremely serious. And so as the Braves come out to a really good start to this 2020 then I take the loss against Jacob deGrom and the Mets, but they come out to this hot start and now Everything looks different and everything changes and The Braves aren't the on ly team going through this. We've had multiple serious injuries to pictures. To not just starters, but two relievers. And it sucks to see a sorrow Go was was trying to walk a couple of steps and then just dropped to his knees and It was obvious he couldn't put any weight on the leg he had to get helped off the field. And manager Brian Snitker. She could imagine. Really? The exemplifying the emotions of all of the Braves. And what is there to say? Exactly? This is a weird thing. You know, It's a freak thing that happened and, um No. Sorry it did. No doubt you feel the same for Mike Sirotka. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio. Here's the kicker to it almost like the gut punch. Not that it matters when you have an injury like this, but he turns 23 on Tuesday. That's the worst. The Braves have this big hole to fill in their rotation to and, of course, Soroka seemed like an answer to what had Hail them. With their starting pitcher, starting pitching Excuse me, and we know they already made. The move might fault Novich and so Welcome to the club, The Braves Like many other teams in the majors, are facing question marks and challenges with their their pitching. After hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio wanted to get the bad news out of the way first, cause that part is difficult sucks sucks to think about sex to go through. For sure, I know a lot of sports fans feeling pretty terrible. For Mike on this Monday night. We're live from the rocket mortgage by Quicken Loan studios when you need an expert to help navigate the home loan.

Ground ball hit toward the Freddy Mike Soroka plants off the mound to try to go cover first base and at first glance The first glance amount of doctor I have stayed in the Holiday Inn before looked like it might have been Achilles because he kind of plants on his right heel and goes to push off and it just It's like one of those things that you expected that looks like it popped and he couldn't walk on it. He couldn't put the pressure on. It had to be helped off. So he is out of the game. Of course that you know again. It won't be tonight before. We'll probably have any definitive. "10929 That is our Solomon Brothers Diamond text line, encouraging believe that's a comment of them about anything that we've been Talking about here on the show this evening has always download the radio dot com at machine Have that handy for you. And, of course, social media. Imagine on the game. Follow myself at J. M. Ch 316 He's at Jarvis, The 90. Watching some Braves baseball a cz Jacob the ground Mike Sirotka hooking up. Um, you know, as you can imagine, not a whole lot of base runners. They're going to be in this game this evening. You heard that highlight from model Cooney Jr. And then, of course, he strikes out on a on a pitch. That was a ball just came up with, but that's what Jacob deGrom does right now. I looked at the ESPN put out their first power ranking, Um for the season. I gotta say, is a little disappointing. So their power ranking they had Um, And this is from by the way. Ah, guess what. The staff of writers of that they have. So this is kind of a conglomerate. And mostly written by David showing field. He's got the Dodgers at number one. Um You know, I don't have a problem with that. Um, you know, Clayton Kershaw just made his first start over the weekend. This year. There's still one of the best offenses in baseball, considering that they have not gotten off to a great start, but they have the best run differential. Major League Baseball. Okay. I got no real prominent Yankees seven and one. I got a real problem with that either is there and judge hot? You might hit 50 homers and 60 game season the way he's going, but anyway They've got the Twins at number three. Ah, okay. I mean, they've been good. Listen, they mash the ball. There's no doubt about starting pitching. Ah, very, you know, good closer, okay? They look at the Astros at five and four. Number four. They don't have Justin Verlander. They don't know when he's coming back. They've lost their closer to injury. Okay? Then they have Tampa At number five, Who's four and six. Okay? And then the Braves come in at number six. Here's their right. Despite the record, it's been an uneven start for the Braves. Ronald Komyagina strikeout been troubling concern Sorokin Frieda both made too good starts, but the Braves are trying to figure out the rest rotation. Mike Fulton image so bad this one, adding there was designated for Simon returned the team's alternate training site. To find his velocity. Okay, hasn't been an uneven start for a lot of guys, including the Dodgers and the Astros and things like that. What makes the Braves different in all that? And this is what I go back to is and looking back even to Friday night, Okay? And if you have Jarvis, you missed you Missed me going off. On Friday with the dreadful bullpen management from Brian Snitker. You know, after you know Newcombe was was a newcomer on Friday night wasn't any good, And then they bring in just seen and he lets in a couple of runs, then you know, it's it's eight to The Braves come up and they get three runs to make it 8 to 5 and snicker puts. Just seen right back out there. What happens? Rosario Home run another run. Now it's 10 5 Now they eventually came back and won the game. What was it 12 11 or 11? 10 or whatever it was it that the final score was But it tells you that you and that's what I said Friday night. If the Braves if the Braves don't get it done, it won't be their talent. If the Braves can't get it done, it's not because they don't have enough good players. They don't have enough talent on the diamond. Now do they need help? Yeah, like every other team in baseball. Who's perfect right now. You know, they have to find 1/3 guy to go stroke and freed. Look at what sorrow can freedom done, and they're in there so far. They've made four starts and given up five combined runs right To put that in perspective, you know newcomers given up like seven runs by himself. Rights given up like five or six runs by himself. Cook. He's given up six runs by himself. Those two guys have been nothing short of terrific. 23 innings coming into tonight with fire and runs and 20 strikeouts. Oh, by the way. They're whip. Freed's appoint 686 and Siro cause a 6860.9791 Oh, and then guys are glued Jackson 1.9 to 9 people. Look at we look at Luke Siara. It's 1 93 Yeah, because he's a reliever. If you inherit runners and let them in, that'll count that toward you. Looks pitch for in 2/3 it and given up eight hits and a walk. You feel good about that. You feel good about Madoka that comes in informed 2/3 innings gives up eight hits and a walk. Okay? But you know, as I say, there's so much to like about this team. And, Yeah, they have to figure some things out, but I think they're good at the back in the bullpen. They obviously have a very good line up. You know, Zoom has done some good things just botched a ball out there in left field just now, but soon has done some good things. There helped this team not and like we talked about our front and he's going to get a lot of chances to drive in runs without having to hit a home run without having to hit. You know, 400 feet to the gap. You know some singles fly balls and he'll drive in runs because he's gonna have guys all over the base path form. I don't know if he's ever been on a team that has the potential to have as many guys running around the bases the way that he does. But when you watch the Braves, what tells you that they're not one of the elite teams of Major League baseball? They have two really high level guys at the front of their rotation. I mean, if you can't see that Mike saw Rocca's If you can't see these that mace If you look at him and say, Ah, you don't think that kid's an ace? What he watching, Larry. Like what? Do you watch him? Stop watching. Zoom, stop looking at the cardboard cutouts. Stop listening to this piped in music and and crowd noise and start watching Soroka pitch. Cause he's a tremendous young talent. And just imagine their 73 and they haven't gotten anything out of a coup Nya. They've not got a whole lot of Ghazi al bases in a buck 94. Austin Reilly had that one home run have dreadful Z have been what the end of Friday night he was in the 0 95 1 E. So they and by the way, they have the third best run differential, the National League Consider that they don't have a lot of guys that are red Hot oven dance. Be Have the third best run differential in the league right now. And they haven't gotten a hold of anything yet. So imagine what happens when Ronnie and as we start to get hot And that starts to take off. So it was a little disappointed when I read that because it's just I look at this team and say Why can't the Braves? Well, they have this. They have that. Okay, let's go through every team in the National League and I'll tell you about what they have and don't have. I can play that game with every team in the league. We could. We could play with the Dodgers. We can play with the Rockies. We played with the Cubs. We could play it with ST Louis. We played with Washington. Where do you want to go? You think those teams are perfect and those teams they're flawless themselves. Course not. But somebody's gonna win this thing after 60 After 60 games, someone is going to win the division. Somebody's going to win the playoffs..

"That were sitting in the postseason along with all these in a coup Nya when you take that when he has been healthy over the 32 plus seasons Full seasons in Atlanta. We've seen which you could basically account to 600 babies, where he had nearly 3 85 waiting on base average so that Zoe's exceptional numbers and I think the fact that you're seeing a healthy version of him go out there and have this kind of a start is not necessarily that surprising. When we've seen it happen. We're just not seeing it happen for the duration of the season, so I go back to when he arrived in Atlanta, and I remember driving test was in fact, in Turner Field and seeing a billboard walking him home, and I can't imagine the pressure. This guy felt, you know, going back that far. Number one pick back in your hometown. You know, I think maybe he needed to have those those loans in order to get himself. To this place, but I think what we're seeing right now. This is certainly what they had hoped for A navy that deal and and he's playing. Ah, love. We've not seen them do any sustained period at this time. Oi McCartney, Braves insider Joining us here in the wait for Dotcom Hotline court. No, I said it. You know, after the first few games, I wasn't concerned about Ronaldo Jr. But at the same time, you know it's exciting and obviously what tremendous player he is. You know, the one thing is, you look at him last year and had he played the full schedule last year. He probably could have been very easily a 200 strikeout player. And you know, my only thing about Ronald is that if he's going to hit leadoff, Okay, then I need him to put the ball in play to use this week. You saw just a minute ago when You know, he could turn a single into a double and he gets it going, But you know when you start off, you know when when you're 11 strikeouts in 19 at bats. That's the only thing that concerns me. Does he need to kind of learn to develop a little bit of that, or realistically, you know, in a couple of years, are we going to be talking about him as their cleanup hitter anyway? I don't think so. You know, we wait can be pretty candid conversations of Brian sticker about this last year, and you know, he basically called him, you know, called himself words not really suitable for on air. When he had a gun you down a little bit further in the lineup, he said. He needs to be hitting leadoff. I think the thing that bothered me with Takuya right now he's getting pitches within the strike 52% of his pitches so far in the strike zone. He's swinging in just 15% outside the zone. He's really struggling against fastball. The 53.3% with rate on the You know nearly 90. He's seen. He's been put away on 30% 37% of them, so he's really the timing just seems to be awful. Whether he's pressing You know when you're giving preseason and I'll EVP eyes along with Bellenger and yell it bets. Ah, whether or not that's part of it or not, you know, he's certainly not the guy the timing wise that we're used to seeing it. Usually, If a guy threw me a fastball, it's going up. I think we're just seeing somebody is a little off. He had a load early in seasons the last two years, so I don't know if we're just in that kind of situation, but you know he's going to get hot and when he gets hot Everything goes his way. So I don't think anyone questioning the talent are his ability to perform and he gets on the run. The bridges needed to happen in this point. Cory, you know, I've been so high on Mike's Rocca and you know, I know you're You're stats and analytics guy. And will you look at you just kind of go underneath the surface of summer just in the wrong numbers and Mike's broken How good He was last year. You know, e r a plus and some of the other numbers and stuff like that. Boy. He's got AIDS just written all over him, and I think you've seen so far, you know? Look, I got no fear whatsoever. If I don't care if it's Jacob Graham or mixtures or Clayton Kershaw I got no problem with the Braves lining that guy up against anybody in the league that he's going to face. Yeah. I mean, I You know, I've been around Soroka, basically since day one. You know when he was really after he was drafted by the Braves to a lot of stuff with him on my days at Fox, and he's always been somebody. That's just the mindset I think has always been what set him apart. You know, certainly, Michael. Never. It has been a hot topic. You know, looking the Braves this last week, a guy that looked like it times that he might have been in a we saw emotions. Ultimately a time to get the best of him. You can tell what's going on in a Mike Sirotka star, much like we have a Tom Glavine whether he was up, whether either down whatever the situation with the game, he was just that steady presence, and I think that's the thing. You know so much of the analytics Gettinto how great the slider is, and all that stuff the mindset in the ability to kind of compartmentalized up with like karaoke. I think really underrated. Part of the game has always been somebody who said that approach in that mindset of somebody much older than his years. Corey. I've only got about a minute left. You think we're going to get a 60 game season? Actually in? I hope so. I mean, I think the news today with the Cardinals and then having a positive test, and certainly you know the stuff with the Marlins growing I hope it happens. You know we're going to see the schedules obviously going to change this weekend. We're going to see seven inning doubleheaders. I really hope it happens. It's trending in a direction where Rob Manford has the ability to pull the plug. I hope he doesn't We need to see as much baseball began in 2020 Yeah, I just I at this 0.60 games and you got teams that just won't buckle down that the Marlins thing is, we're gonna talk about it coming up here. "Distancing and you've got your touch. Isolation. Let go fight. Wanna fight. Go for it, man. Here you go. Muzzle. Give Mars will give the cardboard cutouts somethingto watch, right. Anyway. Yeah, I understand. Every gets all like I said, just play baseball. Can we just play baseball just light up on the field in your position and play? We know what the situation we know the times we're living. We get it, okay? Just give me Mike Sorokin, Jacob deGrom or Matt Scherzer and Garrett Cole and just line up and start throwing pitches, Man. I'm all in. That's all I need. Let me hear the crack of the bat. Let me hear the ball, pop it in the in the mitt. Let me just hear that. Let me just appreciate pure baseball. What's wrong with that? That that's honestly that's what the league should be celebrating is pure, unfiltered, unadulterated baseball. Not cardboard cutouts. Digital fans, fake high fives, fake waves. Celebrate the beauty of baseball. It's a wonderful game. There's a reason why we all played it. Cause it's wonderful to be out there. In the summertime in the sunshine, the pop of the MIT the crack of the bat, right? This. Appreciate it don't need to fake high fives from six feet away. Hey, yeah. Yeah, I'm watching these guys like doing virtual high five. It's like it was honestly it was demolition man. It looked like a scene from demolition metal one there in the police department and they don't actually touch each other. They just put their hands up close. They spin in a circle. Doctor doing the hokey pokey sort of looked like demolition man as wait for Wesley Snipes that jump out of the crowd and start, you know, taken that Taser and blown up a car. Celebrate the beauty of baseball. By the way, Travis d'Arnaud is going to start tonight. He's starting at the catcher is that we're under way from she was park. So Travis d'Arnaud going to make his first start of the season, so we get to see the newest Braves catcher course. Mike Soroka on the mountains will help keep you updated all night long as Mike Sirotka makes his second start of the season and look the Braves, you know. One of the things about in a short season like this is when you've got your ace on the mound. You gotta win these games, right? You know, you don't want to give up. You don't If he goes out there and does what we know he could do. You've got to win those games. I understand Game one was Jacob to Graham and this thing here, but he's your ace, too. You know when when you're aces on the mound, Go win those games because you know he's not going to give up a whole lot. He sure as heck didn't give up anything in his first start. So you know when those starts you got to go get him. You got to get your mind right? Go get a couple of runs, and that's probably all you needed. Mike's rock will take care of the rest, but you gotta win these games. You're already fighting, scratching, clawing. About how the rest of your rotation is going to be. So when you got your ace out there, go win those games. Make sure you go handle your business on these nights because you know he's going to give you everything. They handle your business. You know he's going to help you. Tonight. You know, you don't have to go out and get 14 runs tonight. Soroka ain't going to give up much of anything. Maybe nothing. I mean, he was fantastic opening day. That that's again that he's got that moxie. He's got that look. The Braves are gonna need every good quality start that they can get from their top of the line, guys. All right. When we get back Did anybody was anybody asking from our cake is to come back. Talk about that, and Tell me why the Braves need him back. "But they don't have a lot of trust that answers. And if if new come, you know, wants to be back in the rotation and feels like he should be there. This is a chance for him to really solidify that because the Braves need that extra guy. Does one too. We got it. One to find And I look at Mike Sirotka and all I see is a ce written on him. You look at his makeup, his moxie his stuff. You know his ability to not get rattled. He's just one of those guys and he looks like he's got a ce. You know, written all over him. So all good Max freed, You know, I think he as he grows matures, You know, I think you're going to see him be be a terrific started for this team as well. But they don't have answers after that. And and all those precious prospects at the Braves, you know, have Acquired dangled brought in moved up, moved down sideways Go this way. Best farm system and things like them stuff in this environment to try to count on A bunch of those guys in the reality is that you're going to need some of those guys in your bullpen. You know, those guys can't get it done. I mean, look, there's gonna be some guys on this roster that you're not going to be a symbol to mess around with, you know. You get too bad outings in the bullpen from, say, Chad Subotica. Okay, that's going to require, Okay? I can't pitch him anymore because I can't afford to have a guy like that. Come in and be bad. Three games. Not this not this season. Three games made the difference between you know I win the division and, you know, have a high CDE or, you know, I don't make the playoffs. I guess the good news is that What 95% of league because you know it's going to be like the Marlins and the Orioles will be the only two teams that won't be in the playoffs this year. Everybody else so everybody also get a pup, you know, into the playoffs this year. So you know, even if you win, like if you win like anything more than six games this year, you'll be in the playoffs. And you gotta worry too much about it, But I mean, you don't want You don't want to try to have to count on. You know a bunch of unproven guys right now. That's why I think so. I think for Sean Newcomb that this is a This is a chance where this organization Needs him to step up, and if he's going to be that one of those guys that they can count on, I'm not saying he's an ace. I'm not saying you know he's going to be a dominant pitcher, but If he's going to be, you know in this rotation, and this is where he wants to be. This is the time for him to shine. When they don't have a lot of answers, and they and they gonna need somebody else to help them figure some of these. Ah, these things out a Z move forward, and I just said, it's you know, it's It's a shame. You know, Mike Fulton image. I mean, it just Has it come together? You know, it's just It's always something with him, you know, And by the way that I was watching, I was looking at some of the fangraphs of his velocity..

"And Joe is in Colonia before we close it out on Ed Randall's talking baseball, Joe, Thanks for your call. Hey, thanks for taking my cool. I have a quick question for you. I want people talking about how this baseball season is tainted, which I don't see how it is. Everyone's starting off with the same record. I know what which I know the raise and the Reds are kind of like sleepers for people, which I think is good for the game. It's just I don't see what this is a tainted season. If you could. I don't know if you agree or disagree, but You know our opinion on that? I think just from a historical perspective, Joe. It's 162 games. It sets it apart from any other sport 162 games in 183 days. It's the slog. It's the It's the day in day out, go into the bright spark, strapping it on and playing, and we don't have that and we don't have that this year. But also I hear a lot of times during the regular season before this all happened. People sit there. Say, Well, Chief factor 100 games that we know who the best team is by now, so I mean, it's kind of you know, you know, I don't know. I just don't see it. I would be tainted season. It's Well, we do what we're going to see this year and then you just brought it up the Cincinnati Reds and I wouldn't look at them so much as a dark horse, and that's so that's really something there with it with them. And in Milwaukee in ST Louis and the Chicago Cubs, they're right. They're a good club and they've ended are really terrific Pieces in Woodstock is Nick Castellanos, and so on, uh and and that's what's going to make this exciting and unique defect that they are all starting at zero in late July. And it's and if a guy is out with an injury on goes on the 10 day I yell in the 60 our season. That's huge. So the rest of the employees of the implications of injuries are somebody God forbid, being sidelined by the virus or or symptoms. It changes everything, and we've never had that in base in baseball, in the sense that 162 games is the ultimate test. Right, And the reason I like this set up now is because it's to meet every team is in the home stretch game is very important. I know that I don't know if I'm correct it up. But some during the regular season, coaches will talk a barrel. You have a 10 game. Or if you lose 10 games that were Meaning I'm not meaningless. But you have 10 games. We could foul up and lose. And that shouldn't hurt. Yeah, um, I correct on that or no. Well, I think if a team goes out and has a bad week, this becomes devastating when you multiply it by by three And that's why everything is magnified. Every game is just so much more important than it has been in the past. And from that standpoint, it's going to be very exciting between now and September 27th Joe, Thanks so much for the phone call for us For now, That's the final out of our ball game for July. The 26 2020 thanks for your company. It's been an honor to be a part of your day. I am grateful to so many of you good people who care enough to listen and be in touch. And I am in your debt. "You know, ninth in that lineup, you got three guys who could have in a row that could steal some bases and move around and some guys who can run around on the base paths. So I would like to see if you know of settles these offices along. I want to see the brace, take advantage of their speed and put more guys in scoring position too. Where, Okay. Now, guys like Marcel Ozuna have chances. The drive in runs with without having to hit. You know something in the gap and score guy or without having to hit a three run homer. They can They can score runs in a lot of different ways. And if you want to call that manufacturing or whatever you want to call it feel free to call it that stolen base. I'm gonna go with Ronald Junior, but I will tell you that, I think overall, there's no doubt about the fact that This team, if if you know they decide to push the envelope a little bit. There's nothing about this team that says that they can't be one of the top 45 stolen base teams, no dance weaken stripes and bases are taking swipes and bases. You've got Ronnie. Obviously. 40 stolen base caliber guy. Ozzy Alba's is a guy who, if he wants to could steal more bases, Ah is well No, they have some guys that could get some things done on the base pass and in an era, you know With pandemic pictures, trying to figure some things out catchers and pictures trying to come together. Not everybody's in, you know, full on game mode, shape and stuff like that. I think early on the idea of Taking some chances on the base past. Why not? Why not? If you have that as a as an asset, if you have, that is something that is that your disposable That's the schools are not disposable at disposal, and you have the guys that can do it take advantage of it. The public aware the nationals were last year when it came to stolen bases, they will win the best stolen base teams in all of baseball. Worked out for them, right? They won a World Series. Pitching Wise wins. I think it's Mike C. Rocca's year effect. I've got Mike Sirotka both leading this team in winds and in e R A. You know, obviously a terrific year last year. Really starting to establish himself third in the National League in E. R. A. I think first overall E R E R a Plus in the league, which factors in ballpark and things like that. You know what the top guys last year in hinging Uriel is in Toronto. Now he's left the club, but No reason to think that Soroka can't continue that trajectory. And there were times last year where maybe because a load management or bullpen failures and things like that, that he would pitch really well and just wasn't on the Receiving end of a decision. I think this year you get a chance to see him get a little bit deeper in games a little bit less reliant on the bullpen and getting a chance to kind of take his confidence in the next level, you know. There's no reason to think that Soroka can't be. You know the next ace of what the National League is. He's got stuff to do it. You know, we're not going to get an All Star game this year, obviously, with With the shortened season and things like that, But this would have been a great year for a guy like him to break through and now become an all star. You don't have the big first half and become an all star, So I'm going to give the edge to Mike Soroka leading the team in wins. And also leading the team in e R. A, Um And listen hard, improved much more on on his ear, eh than from last year. I mean, if you know his E R A's 2.5 in an era of, um you know, guy's whacking it all over the ballpark. Hard to argue. You know, with a with a guy that can get you that that type of deal? Um, a ce far as saves Goa pick Mark Lanson in that we know. Will Smith not going to start on the club? At the beginning of the year, But I think that you look at this team and I think snicker has established that this is his guy, right? Wrong or indifferent. This is where the Brian Snitker factor comes in of who's his guy? Well, I think the trust factor with what Melanson did for him last year. And using green and using Martin's set up, guys, and I think Well, Smith will get some of that, too, You know, and look, those guys will get some save chances, but I think my Lansing is the guy that they look at and say, Okay, early snifter does and says Okay, we can We can, you know, use this guy consistently but certainly looked when you played 20 straight games to start the year. You're going to have some guys that are, you know, going to have to get some other opportunities because of Lansing can't pitch. Every single day into the answer that that's what they're doing is playing every single day. I'll take for strikeouts Mike Fulton average. The only thing I wish for sorrow could would do a little bit more on. I'm going to use the term that frustrated somebody is get more outs without contact. Great more outs without contact. Um you know a pretty good number, but I think full, please the guy that you look at the stuff to put up that higher number of outs without contact. I still think the guy's full t on this team, but in my sorrow can move that number up into the 7.5 8 range. And he could really be a dominant pitcher. And finally, I'll take the young kid that I think is going to be a horse for this team and innings pitched and I'll pick Max freed to lead the team in innings pitched. I think you take some of the governor's off above him and Soroka this year. I think you let those guys go. I think you let those guys Pitch their way through some things. They're probably sometimes last year where they don't get the opportunity to pitch their way out of something, so I hope they get used to, you know the right way, so I'll take Macs Freed. To lead this team and innings, pitched one more segment to go headed toward the top of the hour. "Know, have a base hit or a double or something like that with two guys at the top of the lineup that can motor around the bases and get around, you know. He could have a first and third with one out and you know, sac fly, and I think that speed element I'm I'm sticking to the idea that that speed element is going to come into play this year. For this team. Even Ah, little bit Maur. The fact that this team is going to be able to steal some bases get itself in scoring position, you know, without having to play, you know, Station to station baseball, you know? Going to third on a base hit. That's you know, the right fielder has to come over a little bit toward the gap and grabbed, you know, and they take off and head the third. I mean, just things like that of pushing the limit about how How they can Get themselves around the base paths in the scoring position better. I'm going to take Ah, Marcel Ozuna to lead this team in R B I I'm going to take Rana Takuya Junior to lead the team in stolen bases. I still think he's the biggest threat. On the bass passed, but I would love and I keep saying this because I think that there's a real opportunity for this team. I think if there's an opportunity to do some of this team, this is it is There's no reason why the Braves can't be a top for you know, 4 to 5 at worst. Stolen base team in Major League baseball. They have a lot of guys who can find their way around. The base passed and you can make some havoc. And especially again is we're talking about pitchers and catchers working and coming together and You know everybody trying to get adjusted, and this that never looks speed of speed. You don't have to teach it. You don't have to train it. Sometimes you do have to harness it. His guys can get a little bit too amped up and ramped up, But it's not something that you have to work yourself. Into speed of speed on the base paths, and I think the Braves have a golden opportunity to take advantage of them. Over to the pitching side. For wins. I'm gonna take Mike's Hiroko, um Look, I think he's the ace of the staff. I think he's the guy to watch for on this team. Ah, this is certainly a year that you know, Unfortunately, because of the shortness of it, and things like that. Maybe we don't get this. Maybe maybe from a national perspective, If if Mike's Arocha Khun take that step forward, Maybe it's not as appreciated as it would be in 162 game season, but I think coming off a year where you saw how good he Waas third in the National League in E. R. A. By the way, the guy who was what first or second in the National League in E. R. A. Re you he's over the American League now. But What was it when you did the plus adjust for home ballpark? He led the National League in E. R. A. I don't think there's any reason to think that Mike Soroka takes a step back. I think he's going to lead this team. In winds. I've also got him leaving this team in E R A. Obviously, he showed last year, a remarkable season third in the National League in E. R. A. I don't think that that's a trend that has been a slow down or stop. This year for him. I think he's going to be right there amongst the league leaders again this coming year. He's got all the moxie in the makeup that you need to have one of those, you know, great starting pitcher. You know, if anything if there's only if there's a way, you know if you said to me, OK, what would you like to see Mike Siro could improve on a few more outs without contact. Because the game sets itself up, and I say that about a lot of pictures. Thegame sets itself up where guys will be willing to swing away a lot of stuff. Take advantage of that. You know when to throw know how to get a strike without throwing one. Those guys will give you an opportunity in today's game. You know, we got guys all over the ballpark that, you know. Any more, you know, Used to be like 100 strikeouts in a season was like hell if you're under 150 that's pretty good. You know if you're if you're a 30 homer guy under in 125 strikeouts help people think that's incredible. He had 30 homers in 125. Strike up. It's awesome. Thanks, said Ronald Jr was what 188 strikeouts 189 strikeouts last year. People forget that I would bet you most people have said How many times cocoon you strike out last year on a 130 140 188 89 So that everybody only thing I'd like to see even Mohr out of Mike Sirotka saves. I'm gonna go with Mark Melanson. Of course. You know, you heard Will Smith? That's starting the year. I think they will use Smith and Green. And Martin in a variety of roles. But I think that there is something about my Lanson that snicker likes and trusts and You know, He's one of those guys that you just kind of watching. You see? OK, once he starts to go to a guy, Okay? That's his guy. And that's fine as long as the guy's performing. I got no problem with that, because there were times last year when his guy was 77. That was his guy, and he kept going to that well. Go until he had a better option to find out from it, So I'll take the lance and lead this team in saves. Strikeouts believe drama goes Mike Fulton average. You know, he's one of the guys that you look at that, you know, he's always been a pretty good guy of getting out without contact. You know, this will be one of those races. It could be pretty close, you know, amongst amongst, you know, faulty freed Soroka, But I don't think Mike Fulton average to lead this team and strike out at that number. You know would be. Can he get two? Can you get 100 strikeouts? I don't even know that's you know, help. If he did, that would be like a three. Listen it Mike Fulton Average gets 100 strikeouts. That would be absurd. Number two have because he's only going to get what Probably at best 10 12 starts, Maybe 12 starts or something like that. So if he was if he striking out 100 guys lets you know he's averaging a strikeout per inning. Probably at that point, so Ah, but I'll take faulty Teo to be the strikeout leader. And then innings pitched. I'm gonna take Max freed to lead this team. So much love kind of being given. Actually, the max freed coming off of was a very successful kind of maybe a little bit of a surprise. Uh, first season for Max freed and I think he only gets better. I think there were times when he probably should have been given a longer rope. But I think this year you have to turn these guys loose, I think, look with all due respect with a shortened season, and these guys are rookies anymore, and they've been involved in playoff baseball, and they've pitched the whole season No need to try toe Put the throttle down..

"One of your devices to be able to listen to radio station outside of your vehicle. Social Media. 19 on the game. I'ma JMC 316 He's at Jarvis, the 90 so fuck to Peter Moreland in the last segment will replay that at 9 44 years. Coming up tonight for those folks that didn't catch it early on. Well, I was thinking today about of course, obviously Freddie Freeman, not part of this group right now. Still, you know, recovering in the middle, Really? I'm probably just really even starting to recover. From the covert 19 disease and you know no real timetable in time, one about when he's going to be back and We know obviously his value. You know, it's not compare it the same way. As I do the Falcons. Okay. Julio Jones is the best player on the Falcons. But Matt Ryan is the most important player on the Atlanta Falcons to same thing with the brace Ramadan Cooney Jr is the best player. On the Atlanta Braves. Freddie Freeman is the most important player on the Atlanta Braves. He's the heart and soul veteran glue guy that, you know, hits in, You know what is supposed to be the glamour spot. You know if if there's a quarterback spot in a major league a lineup, it's hitting third in the order, so You know with that if If we take away, Ronnie and we take away, Freddie, take those two guys that we know that that's the two Alfa Mayo's of this Braves team. Take those two guys out of your team. Praise would never win anything you know, out there. But as this roster has changed around changes of catcher changes. 1/3 changes in left changes that you're going to have a D H changes in right field, Obviously, because God has been there the last few years is not going to be playing. This year changes in the starting rotation. Lots of changes in the bullpen. James change, Same change change. Okay, all the way around. So the question I ask is who are the three most important Atlanta Braves. Once you get past Ronaldo and once you get past Freddy Them for me. And this is obviously with the idea of okay. Who are the three most important guys? If the Braves are going to try to win the division when the World Series this year, Okay from me, number one Mike Soroka. We talked about with Peter Moylan, the waist broken looks acting like an ace being an ace pitcher for this team for a team that is looking for that, you know, next superstar. The lock down being you know their ace for the next 678 years or whatever. You know, for a team has been looking for that since you know that the holy trio of the of the Hall of Famers, you know Glavin, small dramatics. Soroka, you know, last year really took his game to another level. Obviously in his full rookie season, you know, third overall in the National League in E. R. A. I think was first an E. R. A Plus last year times didn't get enough help. Offensively. The won loss record could have probably been better Sometimes bullpen didn't help him out. Is Wim course, you know. Last season, a year in which evening's limitations load management things like that really came into play form. And, you know, I've said very clearly, I don't I don't think I think he got the shaft not being the game one starter. No. I'm somebody who believes that Take your best pitcher and pitch him when you get to the playoffs, and you don't have time to mess around. Oh, yeah. Those five game series that are over in the blink of an eye and you'll have time to mess around, pitch your best guys, and I don't think he got that opportunity. Last year to do that. So this year, you know, I have said that If you're going to get to that next level, you need to have one of those guys that can that can lead you there. It's not. It's not. You know, random happenstance that the Washington Nationals get where they are because they have no Strasbourg and Max Scherzer. It was one of the best pitchers in all major baseball or when the Astros were winning it, you know, and haven't Justin Verlander and care cold at the top of their rotation or the L. A Dodgers are getting it because they have Clayton Kershaw. Or, you know, re you or Walker Buehler. You gotta have one of those kinds of studs. You know, the red socks, you know, bringing Chris sale over? Is a reason why they gave up the number one prospect in Major League Baseball at the time to bring in Chris sale on his 300 strikeouts. They go on to win the World Series for it. It's not just random luck and coincidence that that happens or take take Jon Lester for the Cubs. You know when they win the world says we need to have that dude. That every fifth day you feel like okay, no matter what is else is going on. No matter how crappy things. Maybe we get out here. This guy is going to make sure we've got a chance to win. Today. I think that's what Mike Sirotka does. And, you know, I'm looking forward to what Mike Sirotka brings, you know, even in a shortened season, you know how many starts can he squeeze out? Can he squeeze out 10 starts? 11 starts in a 60 game season, You know, hopefully, I mean, that's That, you know, I think you'd like to see him. You don't You don't have an in his limitation. OK? And obviously, you know, at the very start of the year because of this condensed off season No one's expecting 67 innings from Mike Seiroku, coming out in his first couple of starts would have you but He does have to. You know, you do need him to get figured out pretty quickly into is once he starts getting full bore you don't hold him back. You don't worry about load management, workloads, Innings limitations all these malarkey stats That don't mean a thing. Pitch a young guy. He's 20 some odd Years old. Well, good. Good, you know, Tell me, John all that they all get Tommy John. Who doesn't get on If you don't get Tommy, John, you pitch in Who doesn't get Tommy John. You can't pitch like that as the Nationals how that worked out. Well, we better save Strasbourg, Okay? He saved to the tune of, you know. If you had you had a really good team that year. That team was better than the one that won the World Series last year, by the way. That that that team where Bryce was what the M V P of the league that year. Get a better team. So let him go. You know, I and I think he's got the ability to be that ace at the top of the rotation. Second Marcel Ozuna, and I really didn't think he's the big X factor off this team. Somebody has to protect Freddie Freeman. Cause of Marcel Ozuna can't produce in the clean up spot. Freddie Freeman is not going to get his opportunity. Freddie Freeman. They stand on first base a lot because you'll see walks..
