How did you come up with this idea because obviously rest of fans love to hear these stories about wrestlers especially behind the scenes stuff that goes on and travel stories and things like that. How did you decide to flip the script and actually hear from some of these fans that are are quite unique can have lived Several lives inside of one. Some of them for years for years fans wanted to be on my art of wrestling podcast and the art of wrestling was just me in the locker room talking to different wrestlers and i feel that people were so they got so into the show that they felt that their stories needed to be heard also and it just something. I wasn't allowed. I i just wasn't what my show was at the time. And it's something that i've always wanted to do is give the wrestling fan of platform. And then there's so many other. Inspirations whether it's a podcast called love and radio which had hotline show Whether it's a beautiful stories from anonymous people from my friend chris. Whether it's college just like this with brian. And mike you know like i've always loved the call in show the idea of it and there's so many other things but it's something that i've i've wanted to get back into the weekly podcast game and it took me a while. Yard took a lot out of me. I did it for almost ten years. Five hundred episodes and this is something new and fresh and ready to jump back in. And i'm having such a great time and sort of the fans really cool. Well have you. Fallen show is a. It's a great idea but then there's always there's execution so what you have done is actually wise because you can basically go through and listen to everything. I i would presume that if someone has a great story. But they like babylon for one thousand nine minutes. You can shop the thing upright and make it. Yes yes wiseman. Yes which i at right. It's the perfect thing. And it's something that i that helps the show flow. It's you know it's only a thirty minute podcast so But if the caller is talked bad like they do sometimes it would be our thirty minutes. So we've we've served it down a little bit. How how cathartic heavy found this for some of those fans that maybe you did have to do a little bit of editing at the end but you listen to this whole thing and it's like wow. This person really needed to get this off their chest or really wanted to to give this back and really reveal how much wrestling has affected them or impacted them or how much it helped them at some point in their lives. How much it's been really helpful and you've been able to play a kind of a shadow psychologist or sociologist here. Yeah now. I'm becoming the dr phil a professional wrestling. That's my new thing it has and there's been some great call so far there there's a couple of haven't played their thirty eight year old mom who's like i didn't know at wrestling was and now it's something that we bond over and i'm taking my child to the eight to c w. and become to saint louis and there was one that i just got the other day about a friend who wasn't sure about wrestling who is a trans A trans woman and they didn't think they had a place to go to wrestling and then they were introduced aid. W and where you see trans and nonbinary and wrestlers like sahni and nyla and that that's opened the doors and they feel comfortable going to wrestling. They just got wrestling tickets for aws. They're super excited. So these are calls. That i love. I love those passionate calls. I love playing those calls at in the heart strings. But then i also you know love playing a call where a guy side new jack try to piggyback to women and then they both fell on the sidewalk..

There's a fan that thinks is the best and wouldn't even know and the new japan style and these people wouldn't translate because it never seen or heard of him before so i just you know there's a fan in japan who in. Wwe tours loves to go watch sports entertainment and there are new japan fans who look at it like that's great but that's not really wrestling so it's a quarter bill murray movie. It's a rap song let it's about wrestling and it's like it totally fits in because we all love wrestling you know. I'm sure it's a weird cell. But i've kinda operated in this weird space as a musician who who's kind of wears his phantom zone asleep. Whether it's video games. Comic books anime you know and pro wrestling so To me it was like a perfect fit to kind of work. I don't know. Is this the first time you've ever done anything like this. Like a music premier. I'm pretty sure this is our very first music premier but going back we've been doing this as two thousand five so there's plenty of vital remember. So when you go back and watch them and you still get the same feelings knowing the results knowing what happened at still can feel all the emotion behind it. You know the near falls. The everything Yes i think the second match to me is is to me that might be imaginable. Time was actually four. I've been chastised by the chad right. Here apologize. And i just think for it to be the first one that kind of put a lot of is on new japan for who weren't already watching it just think that significance is what makes it my favorite out of the four matches. You know you've been a longtime fan when you when you remember getting tapes at blockbuster. I just watched the last blockbuster movie and man. it's just took me back. Like fridays was was pizza and blockbuster and and i remember getting the star star cade. Gasol stark eight eighty six. I guess and And i stayed up all night watching it because it was way too long. And my mom's like i'm going to sleep and man. I just yeah. Like blockbuster was those are beginning of tapes them onto trading tapes on the internet. And things like that. I booster tapes so so was that your first memory. What would your first memory of pro wrestling. What's the first match you ever saw. Where i love this over me I lived in philly. I grew up in philly Big wwf town and wrestlemainia happened. Gosh which was wrestlemainia was that were savage. Won in the tournament is that was four. Four four was in atlantic city. It was sold out. And that's only about ninety minutes from us but since filial such a big town they opened up the the stadium the spectrum and put the put the whole thing on closer tv. And i don't know if it was free maybe five bucks and they had merged damn there and everything and we just sat and looked up at a screen like this the whole time and loved it. And that's one where look if somebody is willing to be crazy enough to eat a chair into the head you know at least don't cut around and do the wwe type thing where you miss. You know the impact of it. You miss what you're doing it for. And i thought in some ways that was actually worse than the end because as you mentioned you don't know how that thing you know. I'm sure they practice it. I'm sure they made it look as good as they could but obviously it wasn't optimal some of the problems they have with production. You know that way missing shots and missing things that is actually in some ways worse now again. That's don't know how much more negative i can be about the show. There was again so much good about it that hopefully we can get into that. And hopefully that is the focus of most of the chat and most of the responses that we get today. I think you know you Posted something or your wife did the other day where you're now Hundred and forty pounds with a twenty nine inch waist. And i couldn't help but notice that i am a hundred and forty pounds with a twenty eight inch waist and the point of this is You have those stats and they think that you should be rehabbed. Well the good news is is you and i can swap close now. Yes you're close but it was concerning to me like should i be rehabbing. No i think you have much more muscle tone You know. I don't have a lot of muscle tone. Well you're gonna get more every day. Jim we're going to give you get you under those weights here. Pretty soon trek. Yeah now i also was was. I could have gotten this wrong but when you were when you were very sick and i think that you had. I don't. I don't remember when it was but i was face booking with your wife and she said i could have sworn that she said something like they're starting to figure out what what what happens you. Why everything went so awry with your autoimmune disease and she seemed to suggest that they had some sort of idea where they could maybe prevent it from happening or or next time something happened it could prevent from getting. Is that true or did. I misread that. Well what the issue was is with all cova thing you know. A lot of the hospitals were very difficult to get into and every six months every so often. I need to get an infusion of this drug and because of the covert situation. I didn't get my scheduled infusion so that was probably part of the problem. Ac led to the recurrence of my autoimmune disease that causes it to flare up You know just kind of a perfect storm of everything happening. I was misdiagnosed with laryngitis. What it was actually. bjp pneumonia. And i think that kinda was a domino that triggered a lot of things so so you so they feel that as long as you can keep getting your infusions every six minutes like. Hopefully we won't have this problem exactly and you've also been fully vaccinated against kovin. I've got both my vaccinations so we're good to go. Matter of fact my wife is a superstar in the travel industry and thing in florida. She doesn't want her. And so i'm gonna travel with her may fifth blood and gut. Oh i'm going to be at daly's place so if you're going to be there come on by and say hello. And i love to meet any observers subscribers who are going to be there for blood and guts which coincidentally they did not named after me they that they didn't may i'll see a bunch of people there. That'd be fun now. this will be if recall correctly. You'd know better than i your first major trip since getting out of the hospital. He and ernest attempt with bianca. Belair they've had the best buildup of any match on wrestlemainia this year which is not saying much but yeah bianca belair michael. I love everything about this issue with the main eventing and look they had stumbled coming out of the gate with bianca daily which i didn't think they could screw up and this hasn't been beautiful either but jim mentioned it's been one of the better builds they've had and it's bianca's time she's a star. She should be one of the faces of that company going forward so give her the one. We have got to bobby. Lashley and drew mcintyre for the title. And i still predicted this will open the wrestlemanias show. I believe it will be the first match in the ring. I think he's going to have a great reaction. It's going to be interesting to see what got everybody's attention because from what i saw. I mean it's ballard o'reilly and from what i it wasn't. It didn't feel as epic as the first match but then again i haven't seen the end is as yet to but with that said i mean it was still a hell of a match and for me personally being a little bit more old school and enjoying that work a little bit more. I mean for as much as people were hyping up. Phoenix and kenny omega and make no mistake. That was an awesome match. You know we'll find out what you think here but o'reilly in in valor. You can't put them in the ring and not get something out of it. That's not gonna be awesome and considering aid of sorry. Tease audience does tend to skew that puts them closer to your age group. That likes that matt style. Work that leans towards like of the two matches. I do prefer the kylo. Riley finn ballard style of match. So i think t probably served its audience. Well and obviously the. The younger audience loves the kenny. Omega phoenix stuff. Which was spectacular. So it'll be interesting to see who Who wins the night. I'm afraid that maybe the news unfortunately but we will. We will see. What did you think about How everything went down with aws. Last night. I mean we've seen it for years you know in wrestling beat downs and group faction beat down you know. They really picked up steam during the monday night. Wars aero with the w. o. Being people down putting up the the hand signal the wolf pack hand signal on into bullet club and new japan and everything it meant there and then we see the next extension of this. The good brother. Show up. Karl anderson and doc gallows showed up on impact last night at the end out there helping to beat down jon moxley alongside the young bucks. Who also came out as well as kenny omega. In don callous. You know for a lot of people in in new japan's long in the tooth and they've gotten tired of it when it comes to. Aws people have been waiting on this waiting to see if we get gallows and anderson in there and waiting to see if we quote unquote get the band back together. What did you think about the post match angle and the beat down and are we probably reading ourselves for week after week. After week of people on impact. Eighty w laying there in a ditch. I don't think so. But again i i liked it now. It should preface this by saying for some reason audio kicked out for the main event. So i couldn't feel it but chris. Jericho burned it out by screaming. So much could be. Yeah but i did like the angle. I like the fact that they gave us the clean finish on the main event. They didn't give us the bs of the the good brothers or anybody else coming out i they delivered and i think that's important and i think that can be the difference maker for aew to not overdo this still deliver the clean finishes we want. Then if you wanna do that angle. That's great. I don't understand yet. The young bucks coming out and to sweating with them. That seemed out of nowhere for me. But i thought the good brothers were a nice influx and i'm anxious to see where this goes started off pretty odd to with the young bucks. Scu against a hybrid and the acclaimed. I know dave has been big on private party. You know he loves the the the the moves and has been on them for a while top-flight also as well too. I mean obviously you see with with both of those teams. How well they could do. But i've been a little bit more partial to the acclaimed. And i don't think it's the hip hop thing. I don't know. I just look at them and i see a whole package that they don't really have the ability obviously to have this spectacular move. Set that either private party or top-flight. Do but i think overall all around if they can come along in the ring i mean. I love the package in the presentation. And the presence. Especially that max castro has already you know as a guy that's trained a lot of people and obviously we watch a lot you know. What do you think about the acclaimed as it stands right. Now you know in there with those three other veteran tag teams and do you see what i see or am i really kind of overselling low bid and getting blinded by a little bit of the shininess i think the verdicts is a little bit out. On how far they can go but i am like you a big fan of them and i think as heels. They don't need to have quite the spectacular set of moves at some of the other guys. Do i actually. I did a. Nwa legends fanfest training camp years ago. And max was one of the guys there. And i thought he had potential then and that know probably five years ago now i could be off by a year or two but he showed potential then. He was a really nice guy very respectful. So i'm very happy. He's given that shot. And i think that's a tribute also to aws tag team division. Which i've always been a fan of tag team back. You know midnight express days..
