"On the on the test kits. The South Korean company. First they came over and then it didn't work. And then we had additional $2.5 million on replacement tests. According to Washington Post On Friday, the state offered the test free to to private labs. One declined because it's just too longer to process than US versions. And the university. Maryland spent months equipping its lab in Baltimore to process the test. But abandoned the test this fall after a false positive rate of 30% on the test. Then they went over to another lab. Governor. Hogan initially said this was exponential game changing step forward. And he wrote in April. Quote. No one knew how many lives. That was 500,000 tests might save But it would be a lot End of quote yesterday, he addressed the tests. We have not had a single problem with one single lab genomics test kid. Carson Harris. Your reaction to that statement. I don't get it. The Washington Post, you know, uncovered it. The fact of the matter is he and his administration had touted that they were going to save quote thousands of lives with those tests. In fact, when I was going around the state in April and May I wanted to reopen parts of Eastern Shore. Mike Ricci, his mouthpiece, actually went on, social media said, instead of me spending time doing that, you know, we should we should do. I should do like the governor. Save thousands of lives, you know, obtaining these coronavirus tests. Well, look, I mean, the bottom line is we? This is why people don't trust the government. Because we were told, you know, this was a miracle test was going to save thousands of lives. Now we find the only thing that happened is that Maryland taxpayers paid over $15 million for something that just plain didn't work. And yet yet to the public, they still insist. That it works, and it was a good way to spend money we had I had. People come to me literally from my district who said. We have a test that is cheaper and better, and we were never approached by the state of Maryland. So the fact of the matter is that you know again. I really have a hats off to the Washington Post Hats off to the Washington Post on this. So what do you think he pursued these tests in South Korea. I have no idea. But let me tell you something. I think things some taxpayer advocate Auto look into that. And he was proud of you mean, remember, thousands of lives saved thousands of it off the plane with you. Me thousands of lives. Big Thousands of lives saved. You may have a connection. Oh, look, I have no idea. But the bottom of the bottom line is, you know his restrictions on businesses have destroyed thousands of businesses have heard a lot of people. And you know, it's time to just end all of this, you know, let me educate people. Tell him the truth about things and let them go about live their lives. Do you think any money exchanged hands here? I mean, you know, I have no high end. Well, I know some taxpayer dollars went over went over to a foreign country when we had American when he had American product that sold for less. Do you think it was a commission or any sight of kickback or anything that would I doubt it? I mean, look, he probably had good intentions to do in this. It just was. It just was bungled. So Admit you made a mistake. You know, people will forgive you. If you admit you made a mistake. Wait a minute. But now if you're double down, speaking of making mistaking Governor Hogan did not make a mistake or Yumi didn't make a mistake. It was the federal government who did other test work Fine, But the FDA changed the rules, so we immediately got the company to upgrade to even even faster. Yes. That met the new FBI A guidelines and we have used them very successfully. What did you talk about Blaming the FDA. I understand that I tell Apparently, the PCR test that they got didn't come with three agents. Look, the bottom line is this is this is this is trying. This is a typical cover up. You know, but I think people smarter than that. They know that thousands of lives weren't saved by this, even though that that's what was promised. You know, the millions of dollars to save thousands of lives didn't happen. And that's and again look, everybody was flying by the seat of their pants. That's fine, but just admit, you know, we probably we probably could have done it better. That's all. Well, a lot better, That's for sure. But I find this interesting, too. In the post. Hogan declined request to discuss the test for this article. This is a man that was on every television show that you could find over the weekend. Slamming the president, telling him to concede on down all of a sudden he's got a book, and we all know he's running for probably president in 2024. Maybe US Senate in the state of Maryland. We're not quite sure yet, but he's got the Super Pac where he's regional sorts of money. But now all of a sudden, he is not available for comment on the very tests that well, maybe they should call Mike Ricci, his mouthpiece, who certainly was more than happy to go on social media proclaiming the thousands of lives that we're going to be saved. You know by the governor's tests. Another way is also another will wrinkle to this. Channel Eleven's Jane Miller reported earlier this year that the state has been spending $45 million in emergency contracts. With a private lab and Frederick C. On diagnostics in order. This is the lab. It's taken over most the processing of the South Korean test, So it's just a lot more than 12 million. If this is accurate, $45 million for this lab to process these defective or faulty or bad kids. Look, the bottom just come clean If he made a mistake, just say I made a mis take, you know, but blaming the president. Well, that's now you know, that's the coin of the realm, apparently in Annapolis right now is blame everything on the president. You know, Cuomo in New York, you know, blame the President. Sorry. You're the one who sent people back to nursing homes. You know it wasn't the president. But this is this is just tip it. This is what we're getting from politicians instead of this And lock downs and snitch hotline. You're just jealous. You didn't get in any that was done, But I did think that was the battle on B or something. When I saw that. I couldn't believe it. All right again More for with Congressman Harrison, Do you wanna reserve respond? You can't 4 10 Wcbm succeeded. She called him out and he would stumble on with this and she with that, and she was she was murky and Smarck e and all of those things like that, And that's why this this this election is going to get very interesting. She is She is now the running mate for the vice president. So anyway, they're my thoughts on that. Larry Hogan is in the news. He's on the front page of the Baltimore Sun. I'm typically not a big fan of the Baltimore Sun but again to try to be bias here. Hogan's chief of staff received a big payout now. Governor Hogan is a Republican, and they let's see. I think you know very quickly on here. They jump in and talk about the fact that he's a Republican governor. But his chief of staff, his new chief of staff, left his job running an independent state agency that he was appointed. So I believe by Hogan. He walked away with a six figure seven's Packard said, included one year's salary. Now here's the issue. This man resigned, voluntarily resigned his position. State budget documents show that Mr McGrath was paid $233,647 a year for the fiscal year ending in June 30th when he resigned. To become the governor's chief of staff in that position. He also makes $233,000. The governor of the state of Maryland makes $180,000. His chief of staff. Makes $233,000 a year. His office has declined comments. The apparently the Baltimore Sun reached out to the governor's spokesman, Mike Ricci, on he has declined to give any appointments. "And we had we had a box that we go to the games. So we were fortunate to be around a lot of those guys. And Wayne was somebody that, you know, such a class act growing up having somebody like that to look up to and you know, mess. Same thing. Like these guys are pitted me of whatever hockey player wants to wants to do in their career. Right. So. Playing for him after being around that environment. We we he would he was a friend of my dad's. So he was kind of funny because what would happen is like after Laka we like J, Jeremy Roenick we had Peter Ned vet centers, Mike Ricci and then the sex. I was there and he'd be like reach your lines up. JR you're up, Mikey Europe. Every. Oh, you might key to him. He's honestly like somebody that I've looked up to and he's I mean to be to be in that environment. We actually had a decent team. I was after the law code. So we have an older team. And some of the some of the guys just weren't as quick to play with the red line. It was a whole new game. So africa. That's a big big change. All the guy came in before. There was there was a red line and clutching and grabbing it was like a like a war to get to the net. I played a year in the H O, look the red line. And it's so to now you couldn't just snap a long pass like for a breakaway like crazy the cab that for that one alpha came back you'd be rolling people or traditionalists were up in arms about it. They didn't really want that. And the league's like man, it's like so much so boring to watch regular season hockey because they just like go up in the red line, chip, it bear claw the guy, and it goes by them. And then it just goes back the other way. Yeah. It was so bad for so long as white what took on fucking make this rule happen. You know, you mentioned the lockout you're in Sweden for the lockout. Right. How'd you knew you're gonna ask me? Predictable. No, it was it was two fells four the president just chill. I didn't think you'd be take off all tell you. What happened was is that like, I I was in Phoenix. And we're like locked out and everybody's going over over to Europe to play. And I was twenty four I was kind of coming into my prime. And I was like I don't want to sit around for a whole year. Not do anything. They gotta play I should play. So the team that I went to had suray chara Martin Gerber who was in. Who was who's with Anaheim an auto all their goalie. We had really good team. How can Loubser GM really? Yeah. Calgary flaming fifty goals. He great guy. Anyway. So we were in Sweden with great guy. I was with with Surrey. That's what I well. I knew him. He's I heard you guys talking to him and Brent Myers. So there for Menton whoops up all guys. They're all good crew could crawl good guys have some crew whole big dogs. So all mad rocket team right there. So Shelly, Shelly we we were like the two imports at the time Moore like after game right now. What do we do? I don't know. I guess we can go to Stockholm. All right. Know oprah. All right. Let's doing. What was closest you came Stanley Cup Cup finals with autumn of that year? Remember first round against us. Yeah. Do you? Remember the first game first period of game one. We were all twenty two nothing the Shawn's and we had a good team the auto. You guys were good team was so nasty, and you guys ran through us in five games. We won one game. I scored that game. And then you I bet I told about people that they're going to win win the Cup. And then just that Anaheim team was they were so good. They approached her and Meyers on the ice on there on the ice. You You know? know over half the time it was light team. Oh, yeah. They had a great team. We also Detroit actually was close to winning that series against Anaheim. We would've matched up better against the trait. And also we had we'd beat every team like we had like almost a weekly off before the finals and that hurts a little bit. But I mean, they had a great team..

"Phone rings, you get a text, man. You know, these holidays flip on a dime. So I think that will help SPN from a content standpoint. Because there's always interesting shit to talk about. So I think they're going to get a big push there, obviously. And it's just very exciting. You can already see it. Right. I mean, we haven't even started you can already see some of the transitions. And obviously I wish maybe hopefully, we can talk three or four months. Down the line. When a lot of things that are in my head and things that I know are coming. I share a lot of details with you on that. It's going to be amazing. It really is. I couldn't sort of curb your enthusiasm very excited your favorite call from any FOX broadcast. You didn't know what I mean by that is not necessarily nearly as a fan. But when you when you were called up look because look your job is a calling you are called upon to be the voice of that action of that moment of that fight. So when you think about, and I'm asking for a lack of humility from your point, I suppose, but some kind of moment from those FOX broadcasts that you think just it all came together for you. You know, it's tough, right? Because obviously a lot of the big fights on those Faulk shows ended up landing on pay per view. You know, one memory. I just have to share as when it was Mark Hutton Bigfoot Silva, the consensus greatest heavyweight fight and UFC history. December of two thousand thirteen in Brisbane, Australia, those Australia shows happened in the morning. You know, I'm on a treadmill at three AM, I fights at like seven and here marquan Bigfoot Silva or engaging in this just epic fight. And and I've never seen anything like it live and in color like that. And it's you know, one o'clock in the afternoon. I'm just praying that people back in the states, you know, during football season or flipping the channel in a Griffin Bonner like way to try to ingest what I think has to be the best sporting event that anyone has seen in six or eight weeks. So there were so many moments like that, you know, I think being able to lend my voice to some of these bigger moments. You know, I really learned the bottom half of this roster. So intimately over a large amount of years. Right. So when I did get. Elevated and had the opportunity to be a part of these big shows. It really was exciting because I felt like I had spent so much time devoting myself to fighters that needed to become household names. And then all of a sudden, you're calling the fights with the big names. And you know, you just try to let the skills takeover, man. I never I never think about a call before it happens. And you know, just try to get out of the way and do the best job. I can man, but it's the greatest job in the world. And I'm thankful to have it at least here as we go to twenty nineteen last question before legit go. How has broadcasting changed since you begin involved in all let's go back to you. Let's see two thousand eight which is also broadcasting but from one hundred news desk, but in terms of the call fights, how has it changed? Well, I think it's changed in so far as the UFC has embraced a lot of people with sports television background and our group. Our producers Craig bore sorry leads this group now, Zac Candido and Michael plant and Mike Ricci, and these guys just do an outstanding job particularly with these analysts. Right. I mean, I think when you look at the top eight guys we have our color guys are the best and can compete with any sport in the world. And there's a lot of good coaching going on, you know, I do think that there's been an embrace of the sports TV thing. Right. Like you look at other broadcasts Lukin. They don't look or sound necessarily like ours. Right..
