"So they have certain amounts that they have to pay out to their retirees every year. They have to be able to generate a certain amount of yield for the, for the fund to continue to perform. And for a lot of these, it's not looking so good yet. Bitcoin continues to over, over a longer term perform incredibly well versus, I mean, it's basically the best performing asset on the planet. So maybe the pressure is building there. Go ahead, Peter. I was just going to say, Lisa, maybe you should grab the report that Mike posted up there in the nest and give that to your daughter and tell her to send that along to the endowment, to the president of the college. Yeah, that's a great idea. Yeah, Mike sent that to me, I think yesterday morning before 7am. And it was like the coolest thing to get first thing in the morning. It was like, of course, the allocation recommendation should be 84%. I mean, Don't you think that that would work have the day that the opposite effect of what you're looking for, though, because they don't take it seriously now, right? Like if you if you say to somebody who's managing risk, you should make an 84 plus percent allocation to any asset, they're gonna probably think you're completely off your rocker. Well, it can be used as an argument to say it's okay, you don't need to, like, maybe you err on the side of caution and don't utilize the 84 % metric as a as their pension fund, just get your toes wet with like a three to 5 % allocation or something like that. Be like, you should de -risk your portfolio and buy some Bitcoin. Well, yeah, and on the difference between the endowment and the pension funds, I mean, I'm very close to a wealth manager that's here in Texas, who manages a public endowment for one of the universities. He also manages money for one of the oil titans family is like been in the oil business for near bought their first field almost 100 years ago, and it's still producing. So this wealth manager is very well known in Texas, and he has a lot of these big families that he has a portion of their wealth that he manages anyway. So I gave him the BlackRock report last night, and he was hugely eager to read it, said he'd read it with give it a lot of attention. And what I said to him is forget the 84 % allocation to Bitcoin. I mean, if BlackRock has 10 trillion dollars of assets, what's 1 % due to the price of Bitcoin? What does 1 % do? And I mean, he gets it, but these people collectively that are involved in these processes are not 25, and they're not on Bitcoin Twitter. It's going to take a while.

This is of course after their earnings all being announced this morning Credit Suisse shows though now down by 10.7% after the bank announced that major overhaul of its business and plans to raise CHF 4 billion of capital we've been hearing from the Bloomberg interview with the Credit Suisse CEO Ulrich carna this morning on more details on that major plan, which of course they see as turning around the business and creating what he described as a new Credit Suisse, looking ahead towards Wall Street trading later S&P minis are two tenths of 1% stronger announced our features are flat though, of course, as markets will have to suggest the results coming out of mate yesterday their shares tanking by 20% and after I was trading so that's when we'll be watching closely a little bit later on ahead of the European Central Bank meeting later, we're expecting 75 basis points hype the arrest trading just above parity, Dan two tens of 1% against the dollar the pound is den a quarter of 1% at one 1595 as the Bloomberg data spot index is up by about a tenth of 1% that's after two days of losses on that index in terms of the bond markets here in Europe, the sell off and Barnes continuing the German ten year yield now 6 basis points higher, two spot 17, Italian tenure BTPs, no trading at 4.4%. The divergence in policy between central banks has been something that's been a factor of recent months. How do you think what we should be looking out for in the ECB decision that comes later? Well, definitely, you should look obviously at the size of the hike and then maybe DTS zero because this will be the natural way for the ECB to reduce its balance sheet. So definitely this is something we are going to look at. Monica, what we're also looking at is some big news out of the U.S. later. We've got GDP, durable goods, orders, initial jobless claims. What will you be looking out for on the other side of the Atlantic today? Well, definitely there is some softening in the soft data out to the U.S.. So we still believe the hard data will continue to hold the end despite the surprise of the Central Bank of Canada yesterday. We do believe that until the end of the year, the fed will say quite okay. So 75 and 75 on default coming meeting Evans said that the labor market will be what we will be looking at quite closely because this is where the monetary policy

I mean those cases he puts out the hyde park cases really. They're great and all the colors and at the time even erwin would he did to get tuxedo produced he was. He still used a in the united states to mysolar in california actually and then he set up his own sewing factory in east chicago. Indiana where burgers and then it got so big where he set up instill has his own bad company. They make the bed in china directly his. He's not having somebody in china make it. He set up his own sewing operations in china and as far as soft bags of concern and they've made other types now. They got the tuxedo. They had the fuzzy kind. You have different levels of of soft bags now. yeah basically. I could tuxedo bags. Still own exactly the same way. And they're the largest gig bag company in the world. Yeah absolutely and and i mean if they were kind of known are known as the hard cases then why not include the most high quality soft bag under the umbrella. So i think you you obviously chose the right. You know yeah. It was a natural extension for them. Yeah yeah that's great. I mean and and it's sounds like you had a great time and like like you said you had fun you. I'm sure could support yourself with yup as a job selling these cases and boom you're in the industry and And all that stuff so so where does it stand today. obviously so so in burgas still making them all. The one of the owners comes over and tells us she's uncomfortable where they're all within two minutes of being there goes. I just hope. I didn't offend anybody. There's something really special about that if you're given the the resources to do it and if you have the support to do it And i certainly did. I mean the mentors. I had allowed me to get to where i've got is Is something. I talked about all time and pay that forward as much as i possibly can. Well you can't go. I mean Covid anyway. I could not go to a meeting which i would attend routinely you know five six seven where i could not run into a bill. Wien fellow. I mean you're like it's like bill bella checker andy reid. You know you've got this this this legacy of fellows that you've created across the country. That are unbelievable. I mean they're just at the top of their game and must give great satisfaction knowing that you've helped to treat that or train them so you're really helping to sort of treat these patients that you've never met. It's a really cool thing. Yeah well look. I think that you know for those of us. That going academics. I mean there's a lot of different reasons. People do it but for me without question the the lasting legacy hopefully and i said this the other day i'm not i don't spend much time on linked ian but what i got a note that mike ri- way when of my fellows who i know you know mike. Posted on linked in about a novel approach that he just got published for doing a poster approach for total shoulders and in just struck me like what. What's cool about having fellowship in residency. Is that you hopefully are going to have fellows and residents that are going to surpass you and be better than you and there are some people that get threatened by that and i saw the opposite of that. Like i'm going to revel in your success so much That more so than oh you know. I want you to fail because that makes me look like the big guy i i couldn't think anything further so when i see mike riley doing great. May i see steed goldberg. One of my fellow scot who basically started a revolutionary total shoulder system in his garage. It's a total game changer. It's fda approved. It's gonna get bought by one of the big companies and it's totally transformative instead..

Okay so i got a quick story about in the ether. I have also a guy. The colleague i guess a writer friend. He writes for this same site. Or at least we did back then Call pop does but at the time we were just doing blogs that we were trading sort of you know files on our music blogs and he got an advance copy of in the ether. He sent it to me. Because what goes and i listen to them all like. Oh my god what is wrong with townsend. What is this he goes is from their new record. I'm alike ones that come on. He goes pretty soon. But i got an advance and it was like a not feeling it. So i i mean just the start me the way he kinda growls his voice but and i didn't realize it was an affect. Tation that he did on purpose because he was playing a character. It was more of a character driven vocal. I think In towns in wrote in his book that you know he had complete creative control of endless wire Roger didn't necessarily like that as much and because peed had been working on so many things and some of this material was was used in other ways for some of his solo projects but he sang on a number of these songs so that kind of satisfied his creative edge to be able to take the lead on a song and then craft other songs that would fit into rogers wheelhouse. What are the standout songs from endless wire for you for me. I like the ones that that sound more. Who liked to me which would be mike. Post theme I think i like two thousand years and.

It's just just like they need some kind of music or something to start the show. Unlike what it used to be. Now, when we were talking about you this yesterday we all used to watch television together. We used to do things together with families. As a country. We would watch the same TV shows we would be compelled to ask the same questions. Who shot J. R. Did you see who shot J? R? What do you think Shot Jr With these days, right now we're all watching separate things. We're doing separate things. Which I'm not a big fan of. But lost are the days when we used to have the great television show theme songs. You just don't hear him anymore, and I'm holding in my hand right now. I thought you might appreciate this. Here It is right here as I'm going to my 45 collection. I found this one. And this is Mike Post who was obviously known Ken Dog for his television show themes. Right, and I have this record. It's a radio DJ promo, saying, So. It's the same song on both sides. It's mint condition never been played. I'm gonna play it for you and you tell me the theme song, okay? Okay. I see what you do. Well, I mean, I know of it, and I know what it is, and I recognized the music. I recognize most everything about it, but I've never seen an episode that I know of. I mean, I think we've watched a few of them. Growing up those many years ago wasn't my favorite show, so I couldn't say that. I loved it. It is interesting that they're saying it's one of the 50. I mean, that's crazy. Best shows of all time and neither one of us really watch it. So we're probably in the minority there because clearly everybody else is watching. The only thing that no coming from Music radio and having worked music radio My whole life. The Rockford Files. That theme song was done by Mike Post, and he also did Hill Street blues in both songs were actual hits on the radio. Not just You know, because, right? Yeah, on the on the television show But yeah, written by the same guy. It's always fun to. I'd love stuff like that. When you When you learn something I don't know. Just it's like jeopardy for me. If you spend more money than you make right, right, Or, you know your investments are returning any kind of yield, So I mean, there's there's a lot or your cost of, you know, I mean, we've had clients coming. I'm really interested in getting a business owner any anything. I really need to get help on my investments. And then we went through everything. Okay, This is great. And, yeah, you're paying some high fees. Your broker's charging you a lot. And you know, you got this high variable annuity. That's a lot of costs. And he had those ingenuity. He kept on calling it this, you know, guarantee insurance thing or something like that is not the same thing. Well, I wouldn't call it insurance guarantee thing, but, yeah, no, it was just because you work in the industry and I don't have. That's what it's called. Call it guaranteed injuries thing sounds more like what is that on the statement is a variable annuity and I come up with a name myself So, but the point is that he's coming in, and that's how it works. Sometimes really funny how we found out that the insurance he was paying for was so expensive his health insurance And you know what? What? You're evaluating dissolve insurance? Yeah, because he's complaining about and I said, Well, that's a pain points like a doctor. You're going to the doctor, and he's like, Well, I'm paying all these gosh, turn Fees. You know where I'm having this pain in my side. Will the doctor starts poking around? Yeah, right. It starts asking questions. Why? Why do you have pain in your back? Well, you know, maybe you got some kind of tumor back there. Let's do a cat scan is doing him around. Maybe you got a pulled muscle. Maybe let's go on the road to Morocco. Yeah, Yeah, maybe maybe shouldn't been surfing. Yeah, maybe ocean. Maybe you just need to get a little more exercise to strengthen those muscles and you're gonna be fine, actually. Right. You did more stretching some yoga, whatever. But the point is wind start looking for health insurance like you don't either. Why do you have a tune and $50 deductible? And I feel like the more I know about my finances. The more That that's true, The more I need on hand. The more that I want on him with the uncertainty of everything happened in the world like I want to be. This is gonna sound crazy. Maybe it won't. My wife makes fun of me for it. I keep in my sock drawer and envelope and every time I have an extra dollar $2.10 dollars $50.100 dollars when I sold Set of tires because I bought a new set of tires for my truck. I just wanted them to look different. And the brand new tires that came on my truck. I mean, literally had, you know, 100 miles on, so I sold him really cheap to to a guy on Facebook marketplace. And I took the $600. And I just stuck it in that envelope. I'm up to about $1600. Now. My wife. I thought you're gonna say, like 60 bucks or something and saved No, no, it's like $1600. But it's in an envelope in my sock drawer in my wife thinks I'm absolutely deciding Which doctor Because that kind of Oh, no. Well, tell everybody l am one. It's the top drawer right next to the chest drawer. And your address is 81 of Yeah, so, yeah, but, I mean, the idea is that sometimes folks come in for one thing thinking that's the big problem, And there's something else that you confined because, yes. You know, I didn't realize that I was in the information business. I had no idea when I started this industry. I thought, you know, I got approached by a district manager Know what's called a captive investment firm, and they came to me saying, Oh, you got to help people give advice and And you get to give him all this great advice on the retirement plans. Like, Well, that sounds pretty exciting, right? You know, you get to help people, and because my parents were nearing retirement at that time, So there were three retirees can building their wealth and planning returns like I could help my parents and people I care about right and your friend grandparents who were with Yeah, we're tired. It was like this is great. But what's really funny is that end up finding I'm in the information business. The more information that folks give us the more we're able to help him, right. It's unbelievable the people that restrain and hold back and don't give that information. We're like, Well, there's not much we can do for you. You know, there's only so much you can help because you only have so many pieces of the puzzle to put together. You know, there's just not, you know. Sorry. I mean, I don't know. I feel like there's something missing here and then it's funny. Sometimes those folks do become clients. And in a year or two later, something else comes up. Oh, yeah, By the way, I got this real estate property If you're talking about Organized accountable here. Surely it's not something that big, just frightened about. Well, they just failed to mention that because yeah, it zump times. It's just, you know. Hey, I'm gonna give you a little bit and then Eventually those kind of things come out. But the point is transparency up front is huge to be able to help someone in their retirement because, you know, it's like going to the doctor. Oh, yeah, untraditional one inch to four inches again, depending on where you are. Mike posted snow totals about an hour ago. WGN TV. New Lenox came in with nine inches, Lockport and Gurney both with 8.5 inches, 8.5, also in the Oak Park River Forest area, so we will have more. In addition to that. It's one of those slow, meandering storms that we're seeing. You know, we haven't had one like this in a long time. Had for gotten that on January, 31st. 10 years ago, which is today's January 31st. Right, 10 years ago, 21.2 inches of snow was amazing. Dramatic snowstorm That was the legendary one Snowmageddon Snowmageddon that shut down Lakeshore drive right.
