U.S. Army Recruitment Is Down 40%

"Numbers are so low. It's ridiculous and the army in particular, the numbers are down 40%. It's gotten to the point where some legislature are talking about drafting women for God's sakes, which is totally insane. I'll just say it flat out. I don't believe that women should be in combat. Think of what happens to man. Imagine how much worse that'll get with women and they're talking about allowing people with medical conditions asthma ADHD and whatever they got to do illegal immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as young children and this is all because the DoD is trying to make an excuse. They're saying it's a tight job market. They're blaming the lockdowns, which Democrats imposed, by the way, but the truth of the matter is it's messaging and no one wants to serve under this particular president. That's the truth. So we are building an army, God forgive me of metrosexuals and this needs to stop the CRT, the DEI, the SEL training of our troops. I know there's some good ones in there. I know there's plenty of good ones, but I'm telling you the left is doing a number on our military and is absolutely a shame. It's a shame of what's happening to our military.

Mike Gallagher, Live From Oberammergau Passion Play

"Let's go ahead and check in with Mike. Here he is. Mike, are you made it inside the theater, look at this beautiful amphitheater where the passion play is about to get underway. You can hear the orchestra tuning up in the background and we are in the very front row of this magnificent theater where the passion play is going to take place. It started in 1634 when the villagers promised God they would produce a passion play if he spared them the plague to play again, and they've done it ever since except for during the two world wars and of course 2020 because of the pandemic. But here we are 2022 bringing you along to this theater, a beautifully tall enclosed. It's cold, it's rainy, but we are under a big roof here in this huge amphitheater. 4000 people, if you can see behind me, 4000 people in this theater to see this performance of the passion play. It's about to get underway part one is two and a half hours, a dinner break at 5 o'clock, and then part two starts at 7 30, I think it starts at 8 and then goes until ten 30. So we're here, me and the Hudson's and taking it all in and sharing it with you here on the Mike Gallagher show.

"Things just real quickly about Mexico's border policies. I think we should adapt some of these. Mexico, welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to the Mexican society, Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country, federal local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request to assist in the arrest of illegal immigrants. Guys in Mexico, if you're not worthy of the country, you're not gonna get in. If you can't contribute, foreigners are admitted into Mexico, according to their possibilities to a contributing to the national progress, foreigners with fake papers or who enter the country under false pretenses may be imprisoned, foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and or imprisoned as felons. Listen, instead of taking a lot of illegals and from the Mexican border, how about we just adopt Mexico's border

There is this sense that things are kind of out of control and he's not in command. And this lens lends to that. Inflation is no one president could control inflation. But it is a, you know, it's a Gale force wind right now. It's affecting politics very hard to you heard among gas prices today. Talks about the gas tax holiday, but he's not going to get the gas tax. And there are a lot of Americans who are skeptical about whether that would that would help. So this is a very, very freighted fraught environment for him right now.

Caller: Watch Harvey's 'Our Lives Our Fortunes Our Sacred Honor'

"Every year I watch Paul Harvey on YouTube, our lives, our fortunes, our sacred honor. He tells us what happened to the founders and the signers of the declaration in his own inimitable special way. And I would urge all listeners to listen to that if you have any reservations about what they did and not what happened after they signed. We know they signed, but what happened later to them. And the king was not happy. So as we do that, and as we look at that, and as we think of our history, Carl, how much longer are we going to sit around on our butts and do nothing? This is, we are face Carl with two enemies. Tyranny and wickedness. And if we don't realize that and get on our knees and start praying, do we need a national exorcism? Especially over some of these demonstrations in Seattle and Portland where these people are riding around nude in front of a little, that's sick. If I were on somebody's website, I mean on these computer laptop computer at home, they could get arrested for child porn.

What Is the Oberammergau Passion Play?

"This was the reason for the trip of my dear friend peg Hudson has always wanted to see the passion play, which has been performed uninterrupted until COVID in 2020 for hundreds and hundreds of years back in the 1600s, the people in the tiny village of oberammergau made a promise to God a pledge that if you spare us from the plague, we will present a magnificent tribute to your son, Jesus Christ. The passion play. It has been performed every ten years on the decade since the 1600s. Well, 2020, it was it was delayed because of COVID and the pandemic. So this is the year it's back. Now this is so fascinating because it runs for about 5 and a half months every from about, I think march till October. Every ten years on the decade, except for this time, now it's 2022. So, peg Joey and I were, we are together and on the road to oberammergau. We're going to be there in about an hour. I have no idea what to expect. I know it's an amphitheater that is covered. It is a rainy, rainy day today in Germany. So we have our raincoats. We have our umbrellas. We have our sweatshirts. We are bundled up and ready for this. We're in the front row for the performance of the passion play in oberammergau. And it's kind of interesting. It's two parts. It goes from two 30 to 5, then there's a two and a half hour dinner break and 7 30 till ten, all in German, but they give us a book so that we can follow along in English. I think we all are pretty familiar with the story of the death and resurrection of our lord and savior Jesus

Biden Wants to Kill Filibuster to Codify Abortion

"From Biden talking about how he how he would support changing the filibuster ruse for codifying roe V wade fortunately, he was shot down by his own party relatively quickly, Eric go ahead, please. The first and foremost thing we should do is make it clear how outrageous this decision was and how much it impacts not just on what was right to choose, which is a critical critical piece. And on privacy generally, on privacy, generally. And so I'm going to be talking to the governors as to what actions they think I should be taking as well. And but the most important thing to be clear about is we have to change, I believe we have to codify roe V wade in the law and the way to do that is to make sure that Congress votes to do that. And if the filibuster gets in the way, it's like voting rights, it should be we provide an exception for this, the required exception to the filibuster for this action to deal with the speech.

Mike Cernovich on the Democrats' Strategy for the Midterms

"Something I always appreciate about your commentary is that you're equally critical of the right and the left because you're not really in the game, as you say. But I'm going to ask you to kind of help make sense of something for me that I can't quite understand. What is the Democrat strategy heading into the midterms? No bias, what are they thinking? What are their internal strategies Sessions? Help me understand this. Well, they're having their own neo Bolshevik Civil War where they're allowed the purchase are happening within the party. And they're afraid of their own far left Flank than they are of winning the elections. And that's a very big mistake that they're making right now. They're allowing themselves to be pulled to the far left and they're looking at really disastrous outcomes. For the midterm election, whereas because the issue is if you look at it, I'll text you this. It was interesting. There's a guy I follow a lot of as you know, wide variety accounts that I follow a lot of just what I call like normie, politically adjacent people, because I think that's the best way to get your finger on the pulses. Okay, here's a guy who 90% of his stuff isn't political and then occasionally a political thing will come up. And he did a poll saying, you know, what issue do you matter? Most to you right now, and he listed guns, abortion, inflation, and gas prices, and inflation and gas prices were the number two things. Now, for us, we're like, well, that's obvious, but we don't ever want to suffer from confirmation bias, right? We don't want to just think, well, you know, Mike sermon says that this matters most of all, well, sure, but I could be up my own in my own silo, right? We always want to see what people are take the temperature of other people. And it should be nothing but inflation should be talked about. It should be nothing but gas prices should be talked about if you're a Democrat. But

Thinking Big With Mike Cernovich

"Mike, what do you have to say to some Republicans that are still kind of very focused on, let's just say non controversial issues, corporate taxes, regulatory reform isn't a lesson post roe versus wade being overturned now is the time for us to think big to go for the impossible. I mean, the conventional orthodoxy is that you're right, no one thought this was possible. We've talked about that over the last, you know, over the last week in particular, so where do we go from here? What is the ethos of the conservative movement be then? Well, the bank movement here culturally is that the Christians within the conservative movement were always looked down upon by real Republicans. They never really liked the Christians, they tolerated them to win. And Josh Holly had a profound observation because he understands that he's lived in both worlds, right? He's gone to elite law schools. He was, I believe, a Supreme Court clerk. He's traveled in both of those worlds, right? And he realized how looked down upon Christians are amongst all of these big business Chamber of Commerce. So called conservatives. So the lesson here is that the real Christians don't need the Chamber of Commerce people, right? You have to make an adjustment now of who has the power and I say that not as a negative way to abuse power, but you have to look at who actually matters and who doesn't. And these people who think that elections are about whether or not the marginal tax rate is going to be 18% or 15%. You're along for the ride with these other people. You're not the ones dictating the agenda anymore. So I think what you have to do here is you have to press the advantage hard and you have to remind these people, look, we did all this without you. We all remember the 2016

What Time Is It in the Conservative Movement?

What Time Is It in the Conservative Movement?

"What time is it? In the conservative movement. I believe that is the most operative question we can ask, what time is it? Tell me unpack this is a very wise man, someone I've known for quite a while, and I check his Twitter feed often for how he is analyzing things. Mike zerner, Mike, welcome to the Charlie Kirk show. My pleasure, man. How are you? Good. It's been a while, so let me ask the question, what time is it? And how should we, how should we respond to our leaders unable to answer that question? Well, I mean, what time it is is the surprise, you know, Ben Shapiro did a thing with Jeremy boring with their event, the night where they said, nobody thought roe versus wade would ever be overturned. I would have bet anything. Anything that it never would have been overturned. And I don't mean that in a negative way, just predictably. Nobody ever thought this would happen with the law school 20 years ago. The idea that roe versus the way was going to be overturned was always always a pipe dream. So I think when you think about these things, you always want to think about the spiritual lesson. More so than the current event you always want to contextualize it and it just shows the power of people never giving up, right? That really is the lesson that I took from this is because if you'd asked me, hey, lead the charge against roe versus wade, I would say, well, but she's not going to happen. I got other things to do with my day. She's not going to happen. No offense. You know, all love for you. But just it is what it is. And that's why you just you can just never give up. When you have the left certainly not giving up. But I think that's the lesson here is you have to keep the pressure on people. You have to be unrelenting. You have to keep demanding that the judges, the judicial appointments matter, the that really is a lesson that you can't ever give up on anything

I was very clear from the beginning. it is strictly for. May i understand. People were getting very into it but You can't you can't use something like that. You know you gotta you gotta treat it right and when it's used for a purpose visit for purpose and then we move on and say well. It was our good luck charm moves. This is that you know we're we're never going to take anything away from our players. It was all our players you know. Maybe maybe we had some fun with it and you know there may have been certain times. We rallied around it but You know it always goes back to the players and all these guys fled so all during may i know we were for eighteen in ten in may and everyone says it was. It was scheduled route around the mustaches. We just we rallied around our players. Everybody did a great job lying so There's no reason to think that it's going to go on the other wife. Yeah and you. you can't abuse it right. You can't keep it going too long because then you know what happens next. May you've used it all up right exactly we we gotta save some for other mid there is now. I don't know if you feel comfortable weighing in on things like this because again very important stuff but who had the best mustache and who had the worst I think dustin lind one of our hitting coaches at the best mustache. She had full handlebars You know he's typically indicate so you guys may not have seen that one but that was phenomenal worst mustache. I mean in terms of performance wise. There's definitely movies but he was not in place for effort. You know the era gave everything he had. And i was. I was proud of his effort. His performance see elected all on field. That's for sure his stuff somehow looked like he was. You know fifteen years old which is amazing. I honestly i thought longoria way just did not suit him at all with just so weird so weird Insular started until we started dating all of the homers and then it was like whoa maybe Very well point. I'm yet lamont. Lamont rate he had a big mustache. Yeah and somebody that. I it was somebody that i didn't expect to dive in headfirst right away and he came in hot and it was right. I love burgers second of it. Excellent so do you. Do you try to figure out something now for june or do you just go like we just go. We just do our thing now for the rest of the way we do our thing if somebody if somebody comes up with something greater if not just things rolling and keep having fun that's the most important thing is for having five who stop having fun then. We have to find something to make sure that we are having fun because all good things happened with fun. So that's kind of. That's where i'm thinking we'll stand having fun and if a singer on yeah. I'm i'm starting to suspect. Your team just has fun no matter what so i wouldn't. I'm not too worried about that And i it seems like every like the rest league is probably getting noticed that you guys are a good team and you know you're not going to be taken lightly or taken for granted. Is that you guys know that. Probably for the rest of the way at is. I guess that's a good thing because it means you're playing well but I don't think anybody's gonna be taking lightly. I'm not so sure that anyone gets taken lightly at this level though you know everybody. S such counties. There's there's unbelievable players on every single team in the big leagues and this is the level of the game. So i think that's kind of the mentality always no matter what so. "That's that's this is an extreme situation but a lot of times there are opportunities that you just have to pivot and adjust and come up with a little bit different game plan. Provided different service are pushed forward. And it's that that grit to push forward. I think is what really makes an entrepreneur. And that's where i Sorta navigate towards people is when they have that desire to push forward. I don't have any games specifically but that's just the kind of person i look forward to being around because when you meet with somebody that has at fortitude. You always feel like things could get better. Doesn't matter how bad it is. You could have the worst day in the world and you talk with somebody like that know. Tomorrow's a new day where to get on and make it happen. And that's that's what it's all about now so given everything that you've been through and you've been successful in starting several businesses. Would there be any words of wisdom or advice that you'd have for people that might want to take a similar plunge and maybe start their own gig start their own Business any any advice that you would an for them at all. Yeah i'll be honest. I think one of the biggest things. I've found being an entrepreneur and being around venus world for ten plus years is a lot of people have dreams and ideas and let's just take baking for example because that's an easy one. A lot of people think that. Oh well hey. I can bake a cake. I'm going to start my own bakery. Well that's that's a great goal. I love the idea. But the unfortunate part of that is you don't know the baking industry and you don't know your clients and that's where i think a lot of small businesses they get thrown up with the idea grown up with the idea that mike my takes a great and i can definitely start your own business because their friends and family never shoot him down. And that's you know getting the hard truth your cake suck or you. Just don't know. Business is a problem and we have it. It runs rampant in the pet industry. Because we have a lot of people that love animals they love to death and they'll start a dog daycare boarding facility with the idea that they love dogs.

"Yakuza japan spent years living overseas which was also tour very busy and then directly from there to another overseas destroyer. The llosa's donald cook on based out of spain. So that was another Chance to live overseas out. Spend a lot of time now operating afford and getting to travel a lot as much as we could spare time and then after four years at sea came to dc. I've been here for about a year and a half going on two years now on shore will we call shore duty a staff job just outside the pentagon awesome So i enlisted in the navy back in two thousand one just before nine eleven I spent about ten years on the enlisted side than i earned a commission as a limited duty officer so now i'm a surface electron ix l. Do as an officer. I similar to mike My first duty station was out in japan on one of the carrier. I then i moved out to on the same destroyers mike. That's what we met up. And now i'm here in the nation's capital on a little shorter day stents and i'll be joining the sleet next spring awesome so The way understand. It is when you guys came up with the idea for your coffee. Business project buna. You're you're on deployment in in spain correct so tell us how that all came about yes. I'll take this one because kind of it was my curiosity. That kind of motivated it. I really never liked coffee. So much said that you would say that it was like a passionate or anything but one day. I happen to try some specialty coffee. That kind of just blew my mind. And i got interested in it but i quickly realized that the craft cocktail world is kind of big. There's a lot of options. And so i was sitting there in no award. You're one day and michelson across our man a couple of other people and asked. Hey what would you guys think about starting a little club like a coffee club and we'll all order some coffee and see if we can maybe share and it's or together a long story short. That was a big hit. And at one point we've probably had somewhere around two thousand three thousand dollars the coffee in the war dream because everyone was ordering that getting it shipped over to spain and so that kind of launched our love for coffee. Was that little copy buyers of as we call it. Well that's awesome so you get this great coffee club going. how win. When did you make that decision from an entrepreneur perspective. Where you you might have something here. I remember we were on the ship. Donny donny asks me. Hey what are you. What are you doing after this. But you thinking about medium to long-term and got planted while we there. I remember what space we were on the ship but then was month so he went to see a little bit before. I did ama- we all. We both got settled in here. Shorty has been created a lot. More time on our hands per se than being on the shift underway. And one thing. I'll say about donna that that is i love about him. Is that if he when he gets into something he'll go down the rabbit hole per se. But he will he will research in. He will become very intelligent on that subject. And so when we were having buyer's club not only. Was there a ton of coffee on the ship but there were french presses and cam x.'s. Arrow presses bird renders in all of this year. You never normally see on a ship and so we both got to dc and we met up floor probably met for a beer one night. S aren't talking about business ideas because we both had that entrepreneur streak that you know in in the blood in the dna that we want to start something and kind of learn by wherein by doing and coffee made a lot of sense because we had up that subject matter expertise. We had spent a lot of time learning about the coffee industry in about brewing in. It was just something that was very we were both very passionate about. Yeah you know. I had a similar experience i was. I was in iraq and wishing iraq at korean villages so five one of my fellow cobra pilots pepper. He's making this coffee. And i'm like what is it things to french. Press on like. I've always heard of a french prison. Never actually seen one drinking basic coffee for the caffeine affect more than anything and i still distinctly remember. The first time. I ever had nice coffee really good coffee from a french press. Totally different category I don't make coffee from a french. Press on a regular. I just i can still handle the old folger's half to. I'm not a coffee snob. But i changed my mentality about coffee. I have a true appreciation for really good coffee. Ever since then that was probably back in like two thousand seven so So talk us through a couple of your first steps as far as Making this into a business mike. You wanna take that one right now. Sure i mean at the only thing we were missing. I think was a garage now. We were we. Were meeting up At least once a week in the evening after work whether it was for espresso even like eight o'clock at night and were a little proud of this. We it took us just six. Months was a few days shy of six months from our very first meeting where we said you know. Let's talk to the day. We officially launched the visits public facing. So that's a pretty pretty short time line but we spent. It's again researching the industry both locally and more broadly we went through a lot of different business ideas at one point. If you had asked us we were going to be you know. Selling cold brew espresso in cans ready to drink We went through a lot of different ideas. And i think that's an important phase when you're for no you you generate a lot and then you experiment with them. You test them out you test out your hypotheses you left the great ideas rise to the surface and so we knew eventually that we wanted to be interesting space bringing quality coffee to people who likes that story. You just told in like our story on the ship. People who didn't know a lot about coffee who thought it tasted burns and bitter all the time and had to put tons of cream and sugar and never knew the areas that came from the stories like that we wanted to make this world that we had journeyed into make it more accessible to people And there's you third wave coffee as its referred to as a gain a lot of grammy people talking about four th wave now So it's it's been around. It's there if you look for it. But in our experience early the veteran in military circles there's still a lot of the be shared with people so we knew we wanted to do roasting. We were pretty passionate about Be strapping the business about self funding and not starting out with any debt. So he did that as well. And then i think the other the other key thing we spent that time doing was meeting on the other players in the space locally so we would go to where coffee cupping sample on test. Different coffees a lot of the local restaurants would have kind of open events that you get a ticket or you. Could you could ask to join. Instead we meet the local roasters talk to them about their business on what the scene was like. And getting to know you know. The local industry was super helpful both for our perspective and because that allowed us to to start out in a model where we had a partnership with an established wrister on that really let us get off the ground. Like i said without without taking out any loans or without going into To debt.

"But unless the very intricate they should be able to go up for Three seconds and back down, not saying to do that. That's what you should be able to do. Less is more it really? And if you have less, it gives you just cute. You don't know what to talk about next to keep you organized, right? Gauging the audience, right? Exactly. Yeah. How many times have you heard people say I have to do a PowerPoint presentation. He was my thought on that. There's no such thing. It's a power point presentation. They're a PowerPoint slides. There are slide, Dex. Power point doesn't do the presentation. It's a tool to help you engage the audience, not for the heck out of it. It does do the presentations of that. These are the ones this is death by power point. So Yeah, it A lot of people say Okay, What am I supposed to do first, when you have to put a presentation together don't run to power point first. Figure what you have to speak about, and then develop slides. That support and forced to your point. Beyond that. Here's how I designed slides when I use him, and I don't use slides all that often. But when I do I take a three by three posted note three inches by three and I designed a slide. If it can't be put on that three by three inch piece of paper, then it's too much information for a slide. Just think of it that way. Like you said. Less is more absolutely Then the other thing is, if you're going to rely on your PowerPoint slides, what happens when the computer goes down? The projected goes down. Something else happens. Then What do you answer to all of this is just be prepared. Just be prepared. Don't rely on your slides or 2020 version of these presentations. What do you do when you don't have access to sharing on zoom right or when they're fumbling around? I see it all the time. Oh, yeah. Can you share with me? I I've got it done for single. Use our host. Only let me change that. Okay. Do you have it? Well, I'm fumbling with it now. Yeah, all of that. It just adds another obstacle to using power point or keynote or any other. Platform that will do the same thing. And that's what's happening to us. The other thing is when you bring up zoom is a lot of people. They'll get the ability to share their screen and then they bring up, say Power point. What they using it slide by slide, So you see there The compound screen way you would create the presentation and they're just going down slide by slide, as opposed to actually playing. Yeah, the slide show. It could be a mess. So, Mike My thought here, and my suggestion is keep it simple. Don't rely on them Use PowerPoint point from what it was. Designed to do Keep it clean. Not all these transitions that they have, and you can have words comes Twirling in and bouncing in and you know on fire or whatever it might be. There's no need for that. They just put it there because they can It doesn't mean you should use it. The old saying Just because you can doesn't mean you should And this is a perfect instance for that. That's great information, Peter. You know, the way I look at stuff is like, Look, we're what are consumers. What are these Major companies like Tropicana Orange juice? Random. I know. But I noticed this every time I'm in the grocery store. What are they doing for marketing? Right? What are these? These huge attorneys on billboards doing for marketing? You've got one attorney here right out who advertises more than anybody. We all know who it is. He only puts his name on there. Now, That's all you have to do, because you know why? Because he knows last Lismore and like you said, when you're driving 65 find by these or when you're flying 65 in the grocery store with a crazy two year old. Growing stop, and you know you want to get by quick, but you want to make a quick You know, you just want to look at that slider. You wanna look at that product. Do you want to look at that billboard know exactly what it is exactly what it could do for you and move on from there, you know, And I can't tell you So What's the women When I'm looking at what these national brands air doing, Peter? Okay, They're keeping it simple. And when you look at social media when you look at means when you look at like the successful social media pages Less is so much more and then you when you have that behind you as a graphic appeal, or if there's some type of thing that'll invoke emotions like you said when they talked about homelessness show a hungry person on the screen. Those air people that need help that's gonna make people cough up donations that's gonna engage people. It's gonna make them sad. It's gonna make them feel something. It's not gonna make them tired. If you're reading it, so your points are very well taken. I appreciate you very much. Peter and And by the way, I suggest anybody that's interested in crafting. Honing in on their public speaking skills to contact Peter, Georgia, Peter George, public speaking dot com is fantastic. He's a resource. You can't invest in anything better than communication. I like roller coasters. So I say. Buckle up. Yeah. I. Said like Roller Coaster they'll get on this ride. This November. We celebrate twenty three years of. Bliss. That's that's a great story. I bought pizzerias I've bought bars, I bought one dramatics and some have worked out some having. So when I go to my wife, would an idea chose look I don't think you should. But if it makes you happy go go forward with it and sometimes I do and sometimes they work sometimes I sleep. All right. You know what? I'm not going to do that because no good could come out of it. But. You're doing it and I just realized with you saying with these other is d is that you have your working Right you're doing your entertainment. But. You're also working with these ideas of just you know whether that's keeping the roof over the head or at least attempting or pitching in helping out, but you're working too. So you have two. Frames of mind going at the same time. Absolutely. I wish. I could make. A lot of money in what I do. What I love to do is detaining, but I'm not at that point yet. I mean years ago. Yes it was great. I was a single guy and then I got married. But as you get older, you say, okay, I want to stop working at seventy sixty five. So, now working harder. To make that money so I can retire and liberal comfortable life I like money I like I like going out I like buying nice things I like to pick up a check for France. I swear to you if anybody ever asks me what's missing in the addiction treatment recovery community other than like. Scientific evidence on where people were at the addiction spectrum. It's fitness. It's nutrition mindset because you take away all the drugs and the alcohol all you want, but until you rebuild the foundation with healthier coping mechanisms. Everything's GonNa. Keep coming back. Is it You know I I was talking with Mike My tack awhile ago about that and he said you know the the problem is that you know you go to a certain amount of pools and any you're basically you're working all the time, and at some point just some work more than I wanNA work It's not really a business. You can double or triple your price because there's always competition out there. So where do you go from there? And it and it made sense what he said to me. Is You know I can hire somebody and? And train them, but then they're gonNA. Go out and try and steal some of those jobs or you know they're gonNA go out and start their own business after I've trained them, so it's it's a very tough industry at least from the outside looking in as to how do you? How do you grow and scale without giving your customers to somebody else giving the training for them to do a good job, so they would basically be doing the same work as you will. You've just potentially given them some aspect of a pool route I, don't know I think the. I think the. If, I was stepping back and looking at how you could grow without negatively affecting yourself if I was in that business, I would probably try and market a course on how to how to take your pools and try and get people in outlying areas out away from me, so we don't really have any any coverage you know maybe around the fringes, but you could have them mirror you for a while as part of the training, teach them what they need to know, and then let them go forth and their area to build their own thing and take. Either a small commission or something for the training, an ongoing thing if If you look at the big picture if you if somebody were to put together a good lead generator for people to find good pool techs because I couldn't find them. When I was looking at just word of mouth, you see somebody truck going by the now and you talk to a parking lot and see if they know what they're doing, but if you came. came up with a good lead generation type thing where your customers would come in from various areas, and you could assign them to these people. Somebody could start a good business without having it be franchise or anything like that just training training pool texts, having an area set for them, and then driving traffic to that area leads for pools.

P. pack and they would be better women if I decided to go with the woman which have not decided to that would be better than your woman and and Joe well we'll have his woman you know what they won't have as they pander to women because dammit if we just have a woman on the ticket yeah right yeah but as theirs is pure pandering in the face of a woman rather than conversation about marriage or anything else hello well I don't know having the woman run running for president on the same stage because he noticed what Bernie Sanders and what Joe Biden are more than happy to do is talk about how they would be just fine we're having a woman potentially behind me on the ticket I forgot the woman's because I like the progress of women the progress of women they they sometimes like me but they will not let told together on the debate stage isn't it fascinating that they pander to women ubiquitously but they are not actually allowing a woman who is running for president against them to send stand next to mother but I'm just an observation I understand the toll C. is barely performing I I get all that I'm just saying if they are still about to women and we must better to women you pick what you don't have to we got one is actually running for president she's trying to kick your **** right now how about letter and rabbit or do you not want to get rid of the debate stage or just the two of you because she might run circles around the two of you and then all we really got a problem on our hands just asking just a question fascinating stuff fascinating talks are a single cat some of the news around the state and that the impact you in South Florida talked about this a little bit earlier in the show for his legislature amid a corona concerns did actually wrap up the the budget on Friday ninety two billion dollar budget and they did end up allocating three hundred million fewer dollars due to the current a virus in the impact on the economy also course school districts across our state are close all public schools through at least March thirtieth at this point one thing I do want to point you to afford the meals for students that are used to receiving supplement meals the school districts the state wanted to make sure that those students are still able to obtain them if you're familiar with break spot sites these are the ones that the state activates during the summer months operated by the school district for meals the break spot sites there nine hundred and thirty for them active right now across the state so if you go to break spot site on the website for you can end up finding the one closest to you in addition anything that might be happening and they had a specific school all right to end here to talk more about I I like a woman I like a progressive woman she may sit behind me on the ticket well we have Mercedes lap trump twenty twenty campaign senior adviser at Mercedes lap on Twitter number said he's always just a pontificating it's fascinating to me how but you have Biden who ubiquitously will pander to a woman and you have a Bernie Sanders who looks a progressive woman and the progress of women they like me but neither one of them were all that interested in actually having a woman who is running for president on stage with them hypocrisy at all right isn't it well what personal branding so much for getting getting getting out all the update I think all the Koreans out there in terms of where they can still find that the lunches for the kids I'm at their out of school I know that being a parent of five girls are you know we are in a very different time and we're all trying to figure this out of how we best can keep you can navigate the situation of the closer closer just wanted to thank you for that but you know when you're talking about the progress of woman definitely I'm not the one that ever would be picked on that type of candidate but D. you know that it is interesting how you had a very what they would call diverse group of candidates and all of a sudden you're different oldest and widest candidates you can find at their front runners and quite frankly both of them have tremendous weakness is moving toward it you know I I we thought that we thought that the twenty sixteen when Hillary Clinton played that card of identity politics and it failed miserably as a political strategy and they still private because I got to be called the quick thing we're gonna pick the woman repeat your pick the woman for that for that but at the end of the day I think would go to prime time like now we're we're dealing with the corona virus it's basically impacting our daily lives it's not about woman or man it's about Americans and it's about coming together during this time and and putting the politics aside and what we found out yesterday is that the date for the denture itself reported it with account death debate there was still trying to find solutions for corona virus it would start talking about the crazy things like fight instead about taking millions of automobiles off the road which of course again they're all falling this far left agenda which is just not going to work or common sense Americans well the other thing that came about in this debate and we have seen Joe Biden who you have your mainstream news media continues to try to paint him as the moderate there are no moderates running for president on the left and there weren't in there aren't certainly now Joe Biden it docked in this idea of free collagen puppies for all I mean that is the people to judge position and I didn't see it previously in his in his realm so looks like you took the but the judge position a free pop these babies I'm sorry they killed three puppies college right yes I'd love a free copy but you know if you want that exactly I think you know I think that's where IBM courteously the the open open socialist you know where he stands and then I think you have you have bided being the closet socialists which is that there's no question that Biden has had to forward to the laptop all these this year because that's where his face is that that's where the party that and it's not just the democratic Douglas medic trying to save find it at the one who could beat Donald Trump I mean they're really really good pushing forty eight very weak front runner up who can't even remember what state he said he couldn't remember what the name of the firing squad that you only get one he doesn't know what decade he said I mean it's just one after the other and I find it kind of interesting when you have it folks people out on television saying he told me he read he's making a mistake I mean Donald Trump he would never get away with any of these gaps and so I just find it credible builders double standard after trying to salvage the fight and Democrat damage process yeah but he's going to have a woman on the ticket in isn't that all anyone in this country cares about I find that remarkable I mean here we are you know I can tell you working at the White House with president trump where he if power so many of his limit advisors who were there with him to make very critical position and I have to tell you it was really it was it just the women it was like the bombs were raising multiple children at the working very stressful job and so I think that we you know and I think that provided just focusing it on one apple woman G. P. like that's going to solve every single problem again another political mistake that they keep making over and over again you know I want a hapless qualified people to take it obviously the most qualified people to continue to serve our country and ensure that we stay calm during this critical time as president Donald Trump and vice president Mike pence Mercedes lap we appreciate it and again she's a senior adviser to the trump twenty twenty campaign at Mercedes lap on Twitter and of course we do have are your are primary tomorrow we did have two states ballot we will have four states going ours included tomorrow as governor de Santis articulated over the weekend we voted during the civil war we're going to vote this time around and we did have Georgia though illuzion that pulled I have in their primaries tomorrow so we will see what the impact of all this ends up happening to be the one thing in particular when you begin taking a look at the the state of this race it's rather evident that Biden will pull out a significant advantage come out tomorrow especially when you take a look at the lay of the land with the four states that are going hours being the biggest you had Bernie Sanders to lose a lot a lot of people are talking about Bernie Sanders and specifically what he said regarding you know Castro in socialism and they you know they talk extolling the virtues of education yeah but the literacy program like Bernie Sanders lost to Hillary Clinton in Florida in twenty sixteen by thirty one points he was always going to get his rear end handed to him here I it is going to be likely even bigger but you know that the the affected that particular statement in our state is probably being overstated the one thing in particular you know I admire I think he's scary as can be I think he's I I've talked about how scary he is because the P. one what he represents on talking about Bernie Sanders but I respect him a lot more than I do Joe Biden because Bernie Sanders as honest he is who he is who he is who he has been for decades he tells you what he means heading east a tells you what he what he believes any ball thrown on it and he doesn't back down Joe Biden is the exact opposite he'll go right now we're ever he is told he needs to go to try to secure votes and that's how we get free collagen poppies for all he was still arguing against Medicare for all last night but what the what if the party said but you have to do this in order to get the nomination you think he's gonna be there next because he wasn't on free copy collagen puppies for all until last night be right back right my journeys radio six ten WIOD.

"And did you see the debate last night this was one of the highlights if I'm elected president Mike my cabinet Mike and ministration will look like the country and I commit that I will in fact appoint a I'd pick a woman to be vice president there are a number of women who are qualified to be president tomorrow I would pick a woman to be my voice press center just to be clear the vice president committed to picking a woman as his running mate if you get the nomination will you all in all likelihood are you I will talk to me it's not just nominating a woman it is making sure that we have a progressive women and their all progressive women out there so my very strong tendency is to move in that direction and by the way the anchors were not six feet apart hi Lynn sweet is the Washington bureau chief for the sun times she's checking in with us this morning when it was nice to have a civil political debate wasn't well it was the worst some sharp elbows if I may say besides the ones that used to start up the debate may well but in general this was different because it was it was there was they there is wrangler but it wasn't as obvious there are differences in policy it got a little personal now and then and the most interesting thing was it was just two people on stage right John Bernie and I don't think there's any doubt the senator Sanders at perhaps a more passionate speaker but then vice president Biden but is it too late for Bernie Sanders well I think it goes into the Illinois primary with Joe Biden is the front runner if that's true and three other states voting tomorrow a Florida Arizona and Ohio then they don't get now to just be it ill be insurmountable for him to catch up so you eat D. Maxwell trying to put him out of range but until it happens I watch for is does he bow out to if it looks like you can't get the delegates or will he keep his campaign going and keep his supporters jazzed up about some potential both very long shot chance of getting the nomination I I say that because we know he did that in twenty sixteen kept going even when Clinton had the nomination all but wrapped up did you bite into anything to change the minds of Bernie Sanders supporters and vice versa for the senator I don't think there is any moment where either of them had a fatal blow turn around change you can capture initiated the campaign so now the better debater in some ways is Sanders because he he has it the point she has been talking about he has been doing for years but the mist what makes everything different is that this is the core of the virus crisis debate and the debate opened on that and five was just much stronger and what he would do going forward and good crisis gives the advantage to anyone who wants to talk the future and **** passed Senate votes and Sanders got stuck up yet I'm talking about policies imposed that bite and supported while the senator which happened before he was the vice president so it gave an easy habit or burn it for a very to to it gave an easy habit I'm sorry bordered by even to keep it cute correct Irish the boy was there talk about Medicare for all Bob which is something he's done consistently every time you spend in that debate an interviewer rally or any town hall but I didn't even say no he said we have differences but we could hold a policy difference discussion for another day let me just talk about what I'll do to address corona virus any suggestion that mission that I can and I think that will work well with the public because is let off the only thing that people are worried about now yeah it is right now Lynn sweet is a sun times bureau chief in Washington here's the lead paragraph on lenses column today with Illinois grinding to a halt because of the corona virus pandemic everything except the Tuesday Illinois primary voters campaigns and election authorities are facing historic and first time challenges we've never ever experienced something like this so right when we voted my wife and I early the other day the crowd was always busy not too busy though how do you think all of this will affect the turnout on Tuesday why do you try to make it lower I I just have to advise okay so my analysis it will be lower yeah JB Pritzker the governor said it will be well botched if you if there is any doubt in anyone's mind about safety about keeping his distance from people about catching things other people have touch ID and if you're not passionate about any candidate or the outcome it will be hard to see how that person would be motivated to turn out now there may be in some communities test places where you will do it because you care about multiple races and congressional race Senate state's attorney's race and the primary so the other thing that will maybe lower turnout is confusion we have these new voting places for some people they may test give up and say I don't want to run around looking for my voting place so if I say the approach everybody who's listening the super sites that were established in Chicago are open today and they'll be open tomorrow I think cook county it is allowing Kimberly both sides of the there that there are around so do check do you know to everybody it's a website and when you go if you are afraid of contact I interviewed one woman who although that date you's a delegate for Joe Biden Jill wine banks said she voted in Evanston I say this in my column Bob in a and she brought her own pen to sign in and she wore rubber gloves to the touch screen yeah yeah I think you could do to decrease any potential exposure and a lot of the judges usually work the polling places especially seniors are not going to be there so that's another way all this will be affected tomorrow on it you give yourself extra time make sure you do distance yourself from someone wash your hands afterwards check your wipes with you bring your own pen to the two year voting place so you don't have to worry about catching anything someone else has you should be common sense precautions and preparations you could take out now well you also point out the irony that white almost everything and I don't know why it's grinding to a stop people are working from home yeah I strive to be a bit close schools are closed the one thing that is going on tomorrow that you were supposed to do in person just about got it and we will lend sweet sun times Washington bureau chief thanks as always when I'm bowing now there's no shaking hands I'm just bowing to the telephone I guess I'm gently shaking hands thanks for having me on that show and everybody wash your hands all right have a good day Lynn thank you Wall Street is.

"Try your luck at winning the luck of the Irish giveaway he won fifty required that they have representation now is long overdue secondly if I'm elected president Mike my cabinet Michael ministration will look like the country and I commit that I will in fact appoint a pick a woman to be vice president in all likelihood all right I will talk to me it's not just about nominating a woman it is making sure that we have a progressive women and their all progressive women out there so my very strong tendency is to move in that direction I don't know what else to play because everything sort of bored me yeah it really it was I I well I'll sure why Bernie was there now Bernie double down on the fact that you know that it would but about complimenting Castro will look you know also why we we complimented China for what they do to which Joe Biden responded China's authoritarian dictatorship that's what it is we have to deal with them because they're there but the idea that they in fact have increased the wealth of people in that country it's been marginal the change has taken place it is still they have a million Uighurs a million Muslims in prison camps in the west but then again he was bumbling Joe was bumbling and stumbling last night too and I don't think it was impressive for either of them I know this it was a field day for Brad Parscale for audio cuts for future audio and video cards for future campaign ads yeah I'm I would say it is there are probably some other more dynamic moments it was a bit of a snoozer because there wasn't an audience and also because we already know who Bernie is and nobody really cares who Joe Biden is you know I mean I saw the thing with the Bernie Bros over the weekend where they came out and said flat out you're not voting for biting if he's the guy that's and you know it's it's funny because when we played you know far left podcaster Joe Rogan and he was making fun of Biden I was at last week uhhuh he's already endorsed Bernie but I mean but the question is and will I don't know if I don't know if I heard Rogan say he would never vote for Byton but you know there is a significant part of that group that won't you know they don't have to take cruise this thing they don't have to step up to the podium and say vote your conscience I'm at the at the convention July thirteenth through this through the sixteenth they don't have to do that that's kind of a given with many of them as active as that's just kinda how they act right that's how they behave I'm they don't need to be many of them don't need to be told not to vote so it's it's it's kind of a given we knew this and the question is how many in that group will hold their nose for Biden.

"I miss seeing. Everyone has grown up now. I mean like you're grown up. You're not more JANNINE. Jill stole come out. They do but I'm just saying but when they come out like I don't need to be out like all the time anymore. That's why I'm happy. I'm happy with the person I'd become because I'm like I don't need to be in these streets. Four or five days elite. There is a point in our lives where I was fun employed and I was one and you refund employed and we were going out. There is day Friday. Wednesday was a bigger angelini render heaney room and Warwick and There is day we were having cocktail somewhere. Yes Friday we're going to boot see And then Saturday we were going out again. Yeah to one oak wherever there was a six month period where we were doing those a lot longer for me. Bud exactly no no I. I completely agree completely agree. Who's Jill Abbott Jill? Abbott is one of my many older. I have a lot of alter egos but she is the crazy. Turn up queen that lives inside of me. And She She's nicest bitch I've ever met but also the evil. Oh she oh before. She's the nicest vigia event I mean. It really doesn't matter but like showing she's the one who is a head turn for her like she can. She's like Dr Chocolates High. Like you know you get one bitch. And you're having time and then all of a sudden someone will say something. And then it's like. Let me ask you this question. Tiffany haddish recently talked about having hanger honors and people in her life. That don't need to be there anymore. And she's like kind of just figuring this out you were born into wealth and your family's wealth was very public as well as your own success. How did you weed people out of your life? And how did you get taken advantage of are? Have you been taking advantage of many times and like not in the cute way? What's the worst the worst? Oh God what's the one that's the most memorable I mean? It's well I. I have to separate them into different categories. First you have the ones who take advantage of me. You know who want just like you know turn up be cute and be friends and then you have the the men. WanNa take advantage of me and they think that they can you know use their sexual or like they're like masculine wild to blind me. Yes from you. Know knowing what D- yeah exactly and bringing them spotlight and giving them gifts and you know what I'm saying so it's like there's two separate categories but there's always a towel like it's like it's always like you have to just take something. I had one person who I didn't really consider a friend but I would go out with frequently and like we're cool whenever and I had had people back in my apartment after going out and I will the next morning l. Actually had to film for rich kids And I noticed that my favorite classes were missing and I was like Oh my God so I texted him. I was like Oh my God. I think one of the guys that we had over last night stole some guy's and he was a girl you're probably right. They did and I was like okay. Well I guess that sucks whatever. I'll go to new pair and cut to like a week or two later like my friend. Mike My Friend Mike. You sent me a photo of the boy wearing sunglasses. The one I was friends with and was a girl. Aren't these years on glasses? And I was like so I had to confront him and I had you know he lied and denied and then it was like so you know somebody else bought them for him and then it was. Oh no somebody. Some boy took them from your arm and gave them to me and I was like listen. The point is you took the sunglasses. So what's what's up and then honestly I was just like this is a sign that I don't need to be hanging around this person anymore and there's also signed to me that like I need to be careful about who I let into my life and that you know people that you meet at like four. Five o'clock in the morning are probably not going to be your best friends and probably shouldn't be trusted that much. So you know it always takes like one or two something to spark and be like okay like you know this is. This is not what it needs to be. That's crazy. I remember that.

"As a reverent as a colonel I eat I have to tell you that all three of those professionals that live deep inside of me also a McCartney was Mike my Marconi award winning broadcaster I think I could say that as well so all of those people that why all of those people live inside of me so you see the movie split anyway yeah well I was celebrating and I I couldn't stop watching the BBC yesterday all that was satisfying it wasn't it it really is I mean I know there was a there's a thought that really really bad guy yeah it in charge of England Jeremy Corbyn who is absolute anti semite this that this one really fits these days pals around with terrorists that one from from the old the Serra Pailin days one hundred percent fits Jeremy Corbyn he makes he makes Bernie Sanders look like George Washington it really does because he he does not like freedom he does not like Great Britain he loves the former Soviet Union I mean he is a very bad guy everybody seems like shockingly the U. K. kind of figure that one out Britain figure that out and they gave in and gigantic wind to Boris Johnson and the conservatives and in a in a way to the to the level that they didn't even expect conservatives didn't even expect shopping at this level it is it is bigger than Margaret Thatcher and about the size of Winston Churchill in World War two and he was pretty popular after that learn things I think we should go with him yeah I think that's good they lost the the left lost seeds that have been held since like nineteen thirty I saw one those eighty four years it had been held by labor the labor party which is you know this essentially there left and been a conservative so they're now have it and Boris Johnson I mean he's you know he's great he he he really he comes off as sort of aloof and a little silly and his hair's messed up in the you know it's kind of a goofball we it by design I think you know but in reality absolute relatively smart he got disarming he comes out before before he walks on public key mas's up his hair I mean he is he's much more calculated yeah you know Donald Trump is just like a close it though he does pull the six shooters out as he feels Corbin is mmhm is mmhm Johnson are Johnson is really really really an intellectual and and is a more of a show I mean trump is a show too but but Johnson I think knows when he's messing up his hair sure and and you know a lot of this one around brexit and what it's an interesting thing here because you know half the country voted for brexit half of the voter gets pretty close vote but brexit one out and and it was supposed to go through it's been three years now where we've been waiting for this to happen and the government has and everything it's cat a cat just to screw this up and and stop it and it's interesting that a lot of people who voted to stay remain voters Kmart came around and voted for the Conservative Party because they said you know this is ridiculous like I I I don't even want to do I don't even want anyone for today voted against it but what you're doing here is you're not even honoring our vote like I lost and I'm willing to lose because it we do but we need to honor the things that that went on I heard a labor party member a yesterday and I just thought I wonder what's going to happen here in America next next election but he was he was saying you can't do this you can't and this goes to the G. O. P. as well hello obamacare you can't ask people to vote let them vote and then just overturn it just say we're not doing any of those things are any parallels to the United States you can make all right now none that you don't you guys lost trump one I understand you want to you want it wanted a different result there you got a chance to do it and twenty twenty we're in the middle of an election go out there and if you think he's been a bad president defeat him well the the effect like drug just love this from New York magazine the idea that many people on the left here in America we're looking at Corbin and saying yeah you know what's going to happen in in Great Britain is gonna be a precursor what's coming and I'm not today I'm like haha it is sin you're exactly right he was so far out of the mainstream and he was he was pushing for the things that people felt were unfair and wrong people people that voted for labor before they saw this and one of the labor leader said you can't ignore democracy now you can't ignore the people now this was a labor leader this is what's happening with the media and with the left that they are just they think that they are in the my no majority and they are not in the majority and the democratic party's learning something they're terrified by this result because this is this is essentially if you think about it from our perspective if Boris Johnson is trump Jeremy Corbett is there Elizabeth.

"My selections off the overnight. 'cause I know the horse is so well I watch I watch them. You know but it goes through. It's it's kind of refreshing because I'm looking at horses that I really they don't follow and I I actually have to dig down deep. Do the work watch the video check the workouts and XP TV DOT COM and try to come up with something that maybe isn't that obvious. And I don't know eleven rings to do that with though It's kind of fun and I'm looking forward to that. So that's what I'll be doing this afternoon. I'll my low sal races races on the video and just kinda relaxing and and getting getting ready Well I don't know if you're going to extend things into Sunday for the cup to Kareem. We'll start checking out all the The hippodrome Oh action draws the line for me the only because I say so much emphasis on what I see in in an and there's no video of little video I mean we've got some workouts in XP TV TV but That doesn't take anything and I don't know these forces that well and I'm kind of guessing and you know as a handicapper Gambler I don't like the guests. I can be right or wrong but I don't like to do it by by get sport so I watch because it's good racing and I it's competitive and all that. I'm not sure how how deep I'll get into it but It's still still get through Sunday and We'll be watching well and Mike My joins us. You know. There's a few horses that came early That that arrived well in advance to get you know to get trackwork and that was a formula. Last year that I came into into play I and it. It's become a big deal and a half I've said for years that as an industry where making a A terrible marketing miscue by not reaching out by by not. We've got such a a strong population of successful Latin personnel. Whether it's in the in the in training side the riding colonies the ownership you name it. the backstretch staff is. Why are we not doing doing a better job extending hand for the horse playing and an ownership recruitment etc of of the Latino population? I don't get it. Yeah well I mean they're trying I know this is a popular thing and You know it comes actually the I guess it's it's Seven hemisphere so it's Kinda like the summertime. I don't know what the issues are bringing these horses up how difficult it may or may not be but You're right What I understand those horses that have gotten really seemed to have an edge? I say I actually checked out a couple of breezes For some of the horses already on XP TV and honest. They didn't look like much to be but they're all going to each other so it you know everything's ratings relative and so we'll see what happens then. There's other good races there as well on that Sunday program but but tomorrow to me is the main day and that's that's where were there's action on all fronts. Who's actually even a good race at Golden Gate Fields Tomorrow always called the gold rush stakes for two year olds going a mile and So I'm I'M GONNA check that out you don't really expect to see any worldbeaters there but I. I looked at the at the field. It seems like it's fairly competitive. And maybe maybe it's something that you want to look at it as well. You never know whether whether we're good horses GONNA come from and You know we found out that door. coming up from down from Golden Gate in a graph apres showing up at almost. Exactly just never know where they're gonNA.

"Listen, I'm not as fan. So you know that. So I would do it. I've learned to play without him. I think they could learn to play without him. But again, it's gonna take some nerve to do that. But I I mean, I could get picking two and six I could pick defensive players and six I get and I can get a big time pass rusher. Like bozo. And put them in here. Jennifer. Any time any hard time getting used to him. Don. Tom gone city was uptown. I Mike my, you know, going back a couple of weeks. It's regarding the NFL rules on replay. There was so much talk after the Super Bowl about crazy calls in the AFC championship game with my by and and and the NFL feature. High long story short rules guy, you understand these rules. And I want to see if you can give me an answer on it. Just the set it up if the if the punter punch the ball near the sideline the guy looks like he touches it. But the ball goes out of bounds. But on the field, they called that the guy touched it. Now the incident where you clay is inconclusive. What is the call? Well, did they overturn it or not? No, no, the oh. So so, okay. The instant replay shows that book, but also looked like it was touch. But the call on the field was that it was much more depends. Whether you're overrule, it depends on whether your overall, I mean, you know, you're going to overrule the call with your best call if you don't have the ability to get an angle that will allow you to overrule the call and you let the cornfields stands. I mean, you're supposed to buy rule only overrule the call or or overturn the call. If you have what is considered to be overwhelming evidence that allows you to overturn a call. If you don't have the ability as you just stated you don't have the replay which confirms anything but the call on the field. And then you go with the call on the field. There's no way around it. You just said you don't have video evidence of anything else. So that would be it. If you don't have video evidence, you don't turn it. That's that's the that.
