"Orig- is on demand. Your show your schedule. Fifteen minutes after ball dot com. Check out the casts at richeisenshow dot com. Our number three of the rich Eisen show is on the air. Great chat. With Terry crews, a former NFL player who's struck it big as an actor in Brooklyn nine nine in. America's got talent is the host on NBC right now from all sorts of television, and moves it was a great shower. Then we had taught mcshea on our number one to talk about Cuyler Murray and the decision he asked to make about baseball football. Because I don't believe he's able to do. Both you missed any of that go to our app apple app store. Google play at the link at the top of our Twitter handle to get our app. We also vote on our poll question about one of the best. What's the best football movie of all time? We'll get an update on that shortly. Chris Brockman, getting set to have a news update. But my guest to my right who I'm thrilled to half here on the rich Eisen show in person for the very first time is the Walter Payton of the year nominee for your Los Angeles. Rams get set to head to his native Louisiana to play an NFC championship game for the Rams Andrew Whitworth. Good to see you, sir. Appreciate you have meal. Appreciate you coming down here, especially since there was a possibility of rain here in Los Angeles. And I understand what that means. Yeah. I thought it was kind of Louisiana weather. So make an appearance is going down. There got to be honest with you. I remember going on a trip with my my parents my family. I was about eight nine years old. And I went to New Orleans took a tour of the Superdome and everything with my family and it rained so hard. I've never seen a rain that hard. I did. I remember this. I saw snakes coming out of the sewer system. That's a fact in uh. There's not much doubt. If you said you saw New Orleans. Pretty much everything goes that way. It wasn't mardi gras Tom either. I don't believe I don't think my family. My folks would have taken me to New Orleans during mardi gras but any rate. It's a big trip coming up for you before we get to that. I do wanna hit you on the game from from from Saturday night. And what went viral quite a bit? Was you hug in your kids on the sideline your first career playoff win? After all those years of trying to get one. What was that moment? Like for you, Andrew. It was amazing. I didn't think that the seal the deal would be Jared Goff making a play with his feet. Right. That wasn't my vote for how it start happening. But you know, what got big I down there were able to run the clock out. And it was it was an awesome just watching the seconds tick down and realize that it finally happened. If thirteen years trying to get one it was an awesome feeling. And then obviously the kids were just so excited this week, and they were pumped, and they you know, they wanted as bad as as anything. And so that's the first. People. I looked for when it ended because I knew I knew they'd be new my wife, and listen the kids would be running down to get on the field, and it was all four of them. Right. Four of them all of them. They looked can I guess like other all four under ten four hundred. Yes, oh, twin seven year olds six year old and a four year olds. Let's fun halfway to Philip rivers. Yeah. And so again, just hugging those kids and having that that moment in in the books for you. What was it like taking this journey and not having one to this point in time? You know, it was tough. I mean, I've been in a lot of good football teams. A lot of great regular season records, you know, a lot of expectations in just haven't you know, yet had where we put the full team effort together and got it done in the playoffs. And obviously having a bye week was amazing being a thirty seven year old offense allow the was good. You get a little rest. Right. And you know, what I thought we played that way we looked for action. And you know, what it was just amazing just to go out and play that way. And really when you have a plan together, and you go out and you execute exactly how you thought you would doesn't happen that often in the league. And man just what an exciting night and then running for two hundred seventy three yards. I mean that that an and also zero sacks of your of your quarter. Bac, and we heard a keep to leap jump into live television at one point talking about stealing souls and things of that nature and others were making reference that that could be some sort of heaven can wait Warren Beatty reference. But I doubt that heavily that was in reference. What the Cowboys had said all week, correct? Yeah. There was just some chatter about that. And just different people that you know, we're kind of looking to see whether we'd be able to perform the way we had in the regular season. And you know, there was some comments about whether the line would play well in those kind of things, and so we had you know, we we incentivize our selves. I mean, obviously, you you go out in those games. And you're gonna play the best of your Billy's. No matter what. Right. But obviously when you hear those things, and like I say as players we go out every week and people can comment publicly on whether they think we played well or not and people in the media, if you make a comment, you get to be held accountable as well. So, you know, that's that's kind of how we felt we felt the Cowboys made some comments and some others did as well. And we just kind of felt like as a great moment to kind of say, we're here. So there really is something in the. Twenty-first-century is bulletin board material. Well, I think Twitter board material, I think if you think about it this way, not to me. It's like be careful publicly. How you go about things. It's like nowadays that can dictate a lot of our weeks. Right. So if somebody in the media has a big following says something about a guy that kind of puts them down, and who they are a player, then me and my everyday life going grocery store going to store. I gotta hear it from people and fans like this person said about this. But you so it's not really as much as that. It's out there on the media is it's about now, you've kind of like this is something that I've got to listen to people constantly chirp ear about so I'm irritated. You know what I mean? And so that's really are. I think more players take it as that. You know, it is it's social media. It's for hall public to here. So when you announce it like that it gives the opportunity that you know, what that's what I'm gonna have to hear every day. So if prove you're wrong, I'm gonna let you hear about it. So you're saying while you're shopping, I see if I can do this without naming names here. So while you're shopping somebody with. Cart. That says the offensive line of the Rams is remaining liability in the playoffs. That's something. You're going to take to the Bank. Well, you just going to keep remembering because you know, if I walked the gross store, and I'm just trying to govern Bali catch up for the kids. Right. Yeah. So he comes up to me and says don't be allowed -bility like so and so said this on Twitter yesterday. Well that happened. Oh, yeah. You hear that stuff all time? My wife gets so magic is in the show. I notice shopping weather because if somebody makes a hey, don't hold this week or don't get another, you know, whatever penalty. I mean, I'd have to literally like restrain her from going after them like I'm not going with you in public places because you get so mad show. She's she's fiery now. She's but she's got your back in the same. I'm no problem with it. I think it's great. You know, that's the way it all. Hey, that's what didn't Giselle go at somebody that one time after Super Bowl question. She can't Tom can throw it end catch it. Yeah. But but again, just to put a button on this conversation here this part of our conversation. Tom Brady coming on after the win over the chargers. Insane. Everybody thinks we saw, you know. And so we'll see I mean, somebody with as many trophies in the cases he has and rings on his fingers as he has is using something that somebody said on television. Well, that's what we're talking by. Right. I mean, you can't run as fast as this guy. You can't make as much money as this guy. You can't have the kind of career this player has scores many points. Whatever it is. I mean, we're always your in. But we can't till we can't do. I mean, that's that's your nature because I guess you really think about you're the one percent of the world, and you've been overcoming odds your entire life to be able to play the sport. Where people said it's not likely that you can do it. Well, my my issue with it is this, and this is my end of it. And nobody's gonna cry a river over this, nor should you all also is that I try and do this job from this microphone where the metric of show like this is measured in a way about my opinions. And whether I'm right or not, and I will always say, what's from my heart, and Mike gutten, I will always do it in respectful way. Because I'm not going to be some sort of hot taker for the heartache then to then say stuff and just throw it against the wall. And have that Dan parroted by players who are like see, I told you. So that you're wrong. You're kind of giving them what? They want confirmation that they're being heard. I rather be right than being told that I'm heard, and I think a lot of folks in my business would rather be heard than be right? I think that's a safe assumption. So you're not going to help me out in any way. She still call people out. I know I'm not asking for your help. But you know, you see what I'm saying hundred percent. I agree with you a hundred percent agree with you. There's a lot of people that are just rather be heard Andrew Whitworth here on the rich Eisen show. Okay. So now, it's not just you being motivated by what you hear? Or what you feel you need to prove. It's also being smart. And it's also study your your your colleague on the line and Austin Blyth might have given up a little bit of a ghost here or not. I don't know. But did you know what the Rams the convoys defensive line was doing stunting wise based on a tell that you picked up on film. I would say every week. Really you come in with plan for the team you're playing really what you see them do. And and I don't think it's really, you know, something just telling about the Cowboys in the sense of that. I think what he kinda means like what we'd study with them and the different looks. And we're. People were in the formations and those kind of things that you know, there's certain things that you game plan to be able to do and and sometimes as Lyman, especially we can get a feel for guys depending on how they play normally whether they, you know, do different things and in throughout the course of a game. And you're like, oh, you know, what kind of can fill this out of his stance. I can feel this out how he's lining up on me that this is what he wants to do. I mean, that's just kind of in the game. I guess probably something most people don't think about because that's kind of inland play type thing. It just happens. Again. Sure. I mean, when you're certainly you're taking on a stunting team like the Dallas Cowboys, it would be helpful to know where the stunts coming from or when it might be tempted, and you know, Blyth was saying that based on where me Collins was lining up with the rest of the defensive lineman were putting which hand they were putting in the dirt ninety percent of the time. You could tell what was coming. I think sometimes interior guessing fill that. I I Don the edge. I just have to you know, worry about them running around the corner most share them. So I'm a little more. What about their get off and those kind of things. But yeah, I mean, there might have been some tells that he had there. But I think that's something more. You know, if you're playing exactly in the film study, you do a good job by him having kind of feel for the guys playing. What is C J Anderson brought to the equation here? I'll man I mean, just a physicality that has been special and you felt these last few weeks. I mean, it's man to believe that guy's been was at home and not on a team is just unbelievable. He said he told Dan Patrick earlier today. He thought the season was over when the raiders cut him. And that it was over that he thought that he was going to play football at all. And now he's playing some serious meaningful snaps for team that has Super Bowl aspirations. That's two wins away from actually lifting that trophy. I mean, he and girly or are a one two punch that I think you guys had not had previously with all due respect to the rest of the roster. Would you agree with that sons? I mean the way he's played. There's no doubt about it. I mean, those two guys that the match they are his physicality with football and his. Hand and Todd speed and Jila D And just the nature of what a great player. He is. I mean, when you add those one two punches, you know, people are tired and have to chase Todd or they're tired and gotta tackle him and get him on the ground. Think that they right now are playing very well each other and give something that we haven't had throughout the season. What's the what's the challenge with the saints here for you? Well, I think obviously those guys are you know, that tremendous on offense, and and you know, in in the door really good job defensively less after season. And you know, I think both of us are a little different teams and probably were when we played in week nine. And I think the opportunity for us to go out execute offensively and be able to run the football's going to be important. But you know, what also just as a team. I mean, this is one of those games that you gotta expect you're going to get the best of each other. So, you know, it's it's really not going to be about. Hey, we gotta go perform it's going to be. We gotta plan. Our best to the final tick. These these championship games always come down to something at the end. And so it's really going to be about not only trying to perform your best being prepared. But realizing you're going to have to do. It for sixty straight minutes. And you've got your your schedule for the week already. Right. Because obviously, Sean McVeigh has got it all down to the second. Was there? I don't you can not give away any any inside information. But was there anything on the list there allotting time for Marcus Peters to have some Gumbo with Sean Payton, I don't know, you know, what we get a little free time on Saturday. So maybe maybe they'll have got a little bit reunion. This is truly one of my favorite sound bites of the entire the entire week. Would you mind loading that up right now go for roller Frangieh Whitworth here where you where champagne instead after that New Orleans game you sit in that last week when we wanted they got the matchup. They wanted with you on him one keep talking we don't seem so fair enough because I like what he was saying on the sidelines to tell you keep talking, and I hope you see you soon you, and then we're gonna have a good little nice love all the Gumbo together. Jets Gumbel week. Let's eight he he deleted this. But he's ready to go. Yeah. You know, what's my guy, man? So I you know, what he's a little prophetic. Right. I mean, he did say that we I mean, then it's true. That is true. So at least check we check that. And I don't know whether they'll actually Gumbo together. But we'll see. So it's not actually on the list formal setup. Yeah. Happening. Those things go. I mean, you can text one another and just made up and grab some would be the best place in New Orleans for that. Do you know off the top of your hand and get me a lot of trouble if named one because they don't be offended. I don't wanna get you. You know, what I think there's plenty of places in New Orleans fund some Gumbo. Okay. You're on the LSU BCS national championship team for Nick Sabin at the loss at LSU. You not, sir. Woes did he recruit you personally, Nick Saban the houses first recruiting class? What was that like for you to basically he was coming out of Michigan state at that? I was actually at that time kind of decided I was going to Florida and play for Spurrier and Nick assigned LSU, and I change my mind and decided to be tiger. And, you know, did you call Spurrier and personally delivered that news? No, I did not. But I not formally committed. I was in the processing I'd visited there and kinda thought that was going to do and then Nate came in and I met with him over the summer and really just you know from day one rails. This guy's pretty special. And I was that was that, you know, I think there's certain people you meet in in coaching that just through a conversation of understand how they see ball. How they see the big picture of the process. How you go about being successful at something. It's bigger than just Xs and os, and and whether we're going to win or lose it's about man, this guy has a process day in and day out that he's going to go about to be successful. And it something that just cleaned you to him the moment you sit down with him. And I've always said this not that John has had that kind of success at all. But I've said since I've been there that Sean is one of the first people have been around like that that just immediately you can sit and talk with him, and you get a feel like with Nick that man. This guy's daily process rhythm how he goes about working and being successful is just different. It's different. I was going to ask you about. That is to is. There any similarities, obviously, they're from different generations. And obviously he like you just one first career playoff game. So obviously, there's some break pumping that you need to do when you talk about. Sean McVay at this point in time. But you could I could tell when I met him at the combine when he had just gotten the job almost two years ago at this point in time actually the anniversary of two years of his hiring was the night of win over the Cowboys. You could tell there's something there is their similarity in any way. I really the intensity really just the obviously both are extremely intelligent guys. But the intensity day in and day out. Just never changes never wavers. Never win lose. Good day. Bad day has nothing to do with how they're going to go about their job every single day at the same intensity. And there's never never once you like, okay. Today's not in the mood or today's going tired, and he's gonna let someone else I'm interest every day that intensity level is as a thousand percent. And and you know, it's almost you sit there and go manage no way, you can be that. Well, he's gonna wear out. But I mean, I've said that about Nixon's I was there which was seventeen years ago. So how often you in contact with them at all? But I thought somebody of the day. So you know, what Nick and I haven't talked since he left. LSU to go the dolphins. And I have zero doubt that you know, it would be odd walk in there. And it would be like we seen Chile before him and always had a respect for him. And that was one of his guys when he was there. And and you know, that's kind of how. Done most of my career, just the process. I go about things, and how do things a lot of that influence came from him. Well, obviously, you know, what you do. And how you go about Andrew Whitworth. People are going to be watching you. There was one play that I saw on the Twitter verses? Well that really jumped out was on the field goal that zero line attempted from damn near the parking lot. At the end of the first half the one person who ran down the field. Just in case. It was gonna get returned the person who beat everybody down the field that was. That was you you wear of those sorts of things when you're attempting them or is that just in eight for you. It is in eight a little bit in an aware at the same time. I mean to me it's always about opportunities in leadership to show, how important things are to you. And make sure that you always atone cetera. Emma, family with my wife, and the kids and all that we always talk about that like when we walk in a place where we go somewhere, we wanna be tone setters in the sense of just being positive and being somebody that people are like man, we want to be around these people because I mean, I think people see leadership and things a lot of different ways in my opinion. The greatest leaders are people that you wanna walk in a room with not that you want to listen to. So my point is like, yes, I can give you like somebody say later gives me advice. But the reality is if like, they're really truly great leader. Like, you're like, you know, what that's the person. I want to be around every day because I'm a better version of self when I'm around them into me. That's like what I try every day. Obviously, I make plenty mistakes. But to me, it's like I wanna have a conscious Mon of, hey. Who do I want to be you know, when people are saying, hey, is this the guy wanna look up to his guy wanna be on the line with this guy won't be teammate with am. I trying to do my best to be that version, you know, and just constantly questioned myself on that. Well, that's no surprise that. You're the Walter paid man of the year nominee, so good luck on that. And then do you spend last one for you? Andrew Whitworth just even a split second daydream about what the winning two more in a row. Would mean you spend anytime there's no question. Yeah. I spent a lot of time thinking about that. And how much made I mean, obviously, this weekend alone is a special place. I mean, you mentioned the message championship that's actually the Superdome where the Sugar Bowl and also won three state championships there so in highschool, so you're feeling good walking. And that's you know, what the is. I really special place to me, and and somewhere that majority of my athletic career allow the accomplishments I have happened in that building. And so obviously, it's a really special place to me and somewhere that. Said after we lost their last time. I thought that might be the last time I get to play there that man what would have place. All always remember how special it is to me and my family, and what have been able to accomplish there. So you just are you saying, you're contemplating retirement? And now, I'm not, but you know, you never know when when you're gonna go back. So I when we lost their and weeknight, I wasn't real sure. Whether we have the play out or how next year would play whether we'd be going there, they come to us. So, you know, I didn't know if I'd be back. So I'm I'm glad to be back. Didn't you hear from Marcus Peters since you were going I should listened to him? I didn't realize there was a Gumbo now. I do. I mean, you feel I mean come on. Now. I feel you. Okay. Very good. Last year makes the playoffs again, but loses that one and took care of business against the Cowboys. And that's been a whole conversation about well, we'll get into it with Jerry Jones's comments shortly about what the ram song Cowboys defense what they were able to explore against a team that hadn't given very much up on the on the on the ground game, but Walter Payton man in the air nominee, just good stuff. What you have over there. Christopher lot of speculation on Jerry Jones future with the Cowboys expected that he's going to get a contract extension. Jason garrett. Yes. He said Jerry Jones is we all we know Jerry Jones future of the Cowboys his debate. Exactly. Right. Okay. Features on that gigantic yacht. Now, whether Jason Garrett we back whether he will get an extension, of course, Jerry Jones commented on that. When I look at what our coaching staff and survived. I give it a good great. As gave it a grade when I look around at what other teams are doing and trying to do to find their head coach Jason Garrett had been out on the market two weeks ago. He would have had five offer head coaching. I know that Jerry. So you've got to look at what your alternates did. We've got a very young team. We've got a team that we've got going in direction got players. We've got going into direction you make changes, and you're gonna change direction. Well, you know, Adam gays face. I'm going to stop. I'm going to stop doubting Jerry for the moment. You know, Jason. I just in jail. I took the cheese on the Amari Cooper acquisition. I took it. I was one of the many that just like was having a great time. Jerry, doesn't know what he's doing. He's given up a first round selection for wide receiver that has hardly done. Anything? I was still a little pissed that Amari Cooper destroyed my fantasy team last year, you know, and and I took that cheese. But he was right. I took the cheese draft night. What's Jerry Duin? Dez is out there just make up with them. Well, we'll see what happens draft night doesn't take Calvin. Ridley takes this kid from Boise now Jaylen Smith, what's he doing taking him in the second round? What his knee all blown up. What I guess he was just doing his brother of favor, south favor. What's is Jerry? I do. Maybe we should stop. And anybody else that does what Jason Garrett did take three and five team and have the offense be more. Honestly, he didn't go for it in Houston on that Sunday night game. He punted away in lost in overtime and got roasted for it. Well, guess what? He did he started like that was. Like, I told you on the show. The other day went Ford on fourth down three times. He was two for three on fourth down going for two point conversions. He was his aggressive. Preach antics, Liotta all of a sudden. So Jerry might be exaggerating. How many jobs that Garrett would have been? Tagged for but. I'm done doubting. Jerry right now, they do have a young team. Now, keeping Scott Lenihan might be something that you can try and look at and defensively. Again, what what we were looting to Andrew Whitworth. It was a tell an absolute tell Whitworth said those guys on the interior. He's just focusing on the hot boy that's coming off the edge to try and keep Jared Goff alive. But on the interior when they saw me Collins shaded closer to the tackle the Rams said to here comes the stunt. And then if he lined up wider Rams look to see which hand was in the dirt for the Cowboys, and they could tell which way that we're going to go with stunt. And if the Rams can see it, and they could see it on tape and see it on film, and then they were able to gash a Cowboys team with that maybe they should start taking a look mid game changing what they were doing. So they're still questions about the Cowboys coaching staff, but I'm done having my fun with this opposed low hanging fruit with Jerry Jones for the moment. They've got a young team with a ton of upside. Do you really think of Jason Garrett was let go five other teams on dot so maybe exaggerating, but you definitely would have been other teams that have definitely been interested in him. I think again, I know everybody thinks he's just a Clapper and all that business, but he does set the tone, and they did change their style. When Amari Cooper arrived. They did have more third a little more vertical. But they also had more motion. They had more stuff going on how much is that with born out of the criticism that Dez Bryant was throwing down. And also the tight ends that there were supposed to be the Bermuda. Triangle actually started becoming significant in the last month of the season. They're like they're youngest team. I think that was in the playoffs or definitely in one of the two youngest. Teams average age twenty they won the NFC east. What else you have? All right. Also in the NFC east last year. Suitable champions the Philadelphia Eagles, obviously walk going on there at their quarterback position. Doug Peterson and how he Roseman addressed. Okay. The possibility with Nick foles today. Yes. Of course is a quarterback going forward and Nick's case. Listen, we would love to have everybody back throughout the roster. But as I've said, many many times, you know, it's not about one guy. You know, it's about the team. And we're going to do what's best for the team. We would love to keep neck false. I mean, you talk about a guy who we've we drafted year and we've grown incredibly close with. I mean, I don't know team that wouldn't want to have Nick foles on their roster. So certainly as we go into the substance of those discussions, we haven't had them yet. But there's no question we love Nick foles as an eagle in Philadelphia. And we'd love to keep them. Look at some point the business is going to take the front seat. And we will see if the eagles go the extra mile to extract something for Nick foles. And if that antagonist Nick foles, and if his business takes the Francie too because he's got a tunnel. Leverage in this. Let's see out all plays out. But it's interesting that they've already declared Carson Wentz. That's a pricing. It doesn't surprise me. It doesn't surprise me. I'll say the third time. It does not surprise me. But I need to keep saying that in order to. Yeah. I mean because that's two years. Now the first year was him playing with reckless abandon jumping head for an end zone with Aaron Donald and never others. The Rams coming at him and his leg. Got crunched in the wrong spot. Boom, bad luck. But also style of play which everyone had been talking about for while with him leading up to that. It's dangerous in there. You don't go ahead. I I haven't for the live for another day. You get such a great running game you got Arab blunt at the time. It got J Gye. You've got a whole offense live for another day. Don't go diamond head I front end zone. Fine. Come back. Next year struggling looking good as the previous year. But that's to be understood coming back from a knee injury. But then a back problem comes up, and those are fickle beasts, and Nick foles is special. They love to have him. I don't think Nick foles is going to be like, you know, what I'll make my twenty million dollars in the clip boarding unless he wants to go the Kirk cousins route here year-by-year make a ton of money until he can finally have the leverage to go where the hell he wants. We'll see if the eagles franchise him which could happen. What else lie? Thirty four million dollars though, or whatever I think it'd be like twenty five million number is. Let's see. No. But I don't think I think they would franchise him not for the attentive keeping up with the intent of trying to trade him. Right. Just a couple other coaching notes. Mike monk check ends up. Joining the Broncos as their offense of line. Coach Gary kubiak to the Vikings as an offense of advice. Now kubiak Elway clearly didn't see eye for him to not get the job there or it was Vic Fangio saying, I got my own thing. Right. And I'm sorry, John. I know you're tight with kubiak. And that he's won a I don't want to have a former Super Bowl head coach who's your best friend being my coordinator my first ever job. So you can understand Vic Fangio made some sort of maneuver to say, I don't want this. And which is explain why he didn't want to answer those questions that press conference about kubiak because it was something up in the air and make sense and kubiak is now going to Minnesota where Kevin's defence key is still the offense coordinator, but kubiak son is on the. On a staff and apparently everybody likes each other. And it's great. But Why's munch act leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers? To go to Denver Broncos. Now, he has family apparently in Colorado, which would make sense right there. But he was passed over for the head coaching job in Denver, and he's still going there is that bad in Pittsburgh. I don't know, man. You have to sit here and wonder it's only Brad some real weird tweets this morning. Do wouldn't you want to get the hell out of there if you're right? And was like the ship seven thing was I'll read it out loud too. Because because you know, this is our favorite low hanging fruit game as well. Let me find it right here. Which is which is Big Ben saying something that can be misconstrued. You extra words in the article in the article, I read on ESPN dot com of Montana showing to going from Pittsburgh, Denver, quote is what he said, I guess in his radio show making a public plea prior to munch leaving to retain munch quote. I pray that fans, right? As many letters. They can to Mr. Rooney to keep coach munch ACA around he such a special coach. Yes. Or no, there's one more one more STET sentence that sends us in totally different weird direction yesterday. Yes, let's hear when the linemen are happy and love to play for their coach. They play better. So check is making the linemen unhappy and they're not playing hard air go. No, no the way I took it as like, they're not happy blocking for his balanced quarterback. That's going to home fame. Shouldn't that automatically keep them? Happy. She's weird. It's just you know, what I mean? Like, we can all there's always one line that causes you to just go. That's a little weird. It's a little off, isn't it? Why can't he just I don't just like just stop it? Right. There's just it's always like Costanza. There's no one leave to quit college things. Former Notre Dame quarterback Brennan wimbush Trant. He's a graduate transfer for next year. Go play at central Florida's. That means he's out of the portal, or he's in the Puerto words or protocols or the protocol Puerto there's no parole call he is but still eligibility. So he's going Trump's reporter then he's going to play next year phantom zone goes into the the atmosphere with generals ought in it that needs some sort of nuclear blast to get you out of it. He safe not in there. He's not in Michigan's new of coordinator, Josh Gaddis had no idea he was even going to be recruited by Michigan. Jim Harbaugh apparently landed him in a couple of hours. Josh Gad said, quote when Jim called me cut me off guard cause I was literally just left a meeting Nick Sabin where I was getting my but shoot out for twenty minutes and then telling him I was leaving. And he tried to keep me to stay. Yeah. Apparently did not go over what's happening right now is Josh Gaddis who is a co coordinator believe with the offense in Alabama was getting some offers from other schools at any apparently was going in the direction of Maryland. And when Harbaugh heard that he was thinking of leaving Alabama goes will let me let me get in on this and five hours later, he was Michigan's play caller and Harbaugh's apparently going to hand the entire offense off to him to which I say. Love it bring Jalen hurts. And this is just a the the whole shape. Patterson is just fine. But use him use him it away with you got some big huge NFL quality, physical wide receivers out wide. Let let's go. It's the twenty first century and to to that I say just bring it on full circle here that some folks think that may be Jason Garrett should reimagined himself with a new offense coordinator in Dallas in the same way. That's Andy Reid reimagined himself and Coughlin eventually reimagined himself while still on the job with the giants and Harbaugh having the ability to say, you know, what let's get this kid this younger guy from Alabama and bring him in. And it's your job. Kudos. I think that takes some sort of looking in the mirror, and of course, the twenty first century aspect of it all is this story came out on Jim Harbaugh's podcast. Daredevil Season 3 Review, Pop Culture Romanticism, & We Remake Video Games? | OGLFG Podcast
"What's up guys on this week show daredevil season, three review pop culture romanticism, and we remake video games, plus dumb shit of the week that more on this episode of one giant leap forgives? Gigs. Welcome to another episode of OG L G where we talk about movies video games and all things in geek culture. I'm your host, Mike c squared. And with me are my co-host been wa I'm voted before had brushed my teeth today and DJ mellie mell. Hey before we get into it this week. I wanted to just kind of shoe shit. What you real quick find out? How your we expend like anything exciting or relevant people who listen to us would actually care about. Well, I wouldn't necessarily say exciting work though. Eek almost got a ticket come in here. So then caught myself going ninety five or ninety fifty five. Yeah. That's that's pretty excited. Oh, you're telling yourself to the whole internet Reno right? Yeah. Yeah. I have a lead foot. Sometimes they happens near DJ mill is going to be I'm gonna. Now known as inmate number three six four nine. Make it in jail or prison. Not me neither I would end up. Being somebody's bitch. Real quick. I'm too soft spoken. Nobody's like, yeah. You got a pretty mouth. I guess. Chatted. Do an impression they'd be like. Let's see what else they can do. Oh, yeah. What about you? I was going to make a comment, but I'm biting my tongue. Broke the fourth ball. This is not recorded the same time. That is uploaded today is Tuesday election day. I did vote. In the midterms. And that's true. I actually woke up put on my pants and went right to the precinct to vote. I did not even brush my teeth beforehand. It's a good thing. You did though to and don't worry kids. We're not going to get all the politics and shit. But it is a good thing you did. Because from what I've been seeing like, this is like one of the biggest like midterm election voter turnout that we've had in a long time like even more so than like two twenty four team in terms. So. This uncounted more. I think I think I think more people are invested. Sure, I think a lot of people who maybe didn't vote during the presidential elections. Didn't. Have more impetus now to go out and vote. So so, but but that's. It's like, you know, exercise your, you know, your right to have your voice heard in your vote counted in August stuff. So I honestly thought about voting in the election twenty eighteen and I didn't well you mean sixteen. Yeah, sixteen. Yes. Yeah. Sixteen we're in twenty I was gonna say. Hey, I've been up since six o'clock this morning. Give me breaks. Your problem is he's been driving. So fast seen didn't realize what time it, right? You went. All right. You went eighty eight. Right. Exactly. Yep. And that was it. It was like flaming tyres. Legit. Anyway, I was going to vote in sixteen and I didn't for whatever reason. And now that the midterms were here, I'm really wishing that I would have oh, I think a lot of people are either on one side of defensively other own and I think everybody, regardless of what your political stance may be, you know, right or left. I think a lot of people feel like they have to go vote. Like this the midterms are important. So and they are important are kinda almost just as if not even more important in the presidential elections. But anyway, anyway, that was your your politic talk. Well, when did you leave for gigs for the week, I guess, but this week it was a pretty slow news week? So I wanted to kind of do a little bit different stuff. We do have two stories that I wanted to get out the way the first one. It hurts my heart, and my soul on levels. I don't think that I can really convey. But apparently Ridley Scott is making a gladiator two. And I don't know why. Okay. So let me give you info dump I'm getting this from screen ran dot com. The face. You're making me. Yeah. As if everybody could see my face. Needs to be uploaded a second head. But getting this from screen Randolph com. They say Ridley skies developing gladiator, two with screenwriter Peter Craig with the intention of directing it himself. This isn't the first time the filmmaker has made plans for a sequel to his best picture Oscar winning swords and sandals epic. Either back in the two thousand Scott, Nick cave, put together a gladiator sequel script where maximised Russell Crowe is resurrected following his own death and the finding arena at the conclusion of the original movie that would have made more sense. Just to be clear caves gladiator two screenplay revolved around Maximus literally coming back from the dead in joining forces with not only his old buddy Juba Shimon Han Soo, but also group of embattled Christians in order to take on Lucius. The now grown son of maximum of Maximus ex lover Lucelia who's begun. Waging war against the entirety of Christianity. They go on to say the plan is still for the film to focus on an adult Lucious who as you might recall was essentially saved by Maximus as a child when the Hispano Roman general, turn gladiator defeated loses conniving ankle comedies play by keen Phoenix in the ring and thusly avenged his family's deaths before succumbing to his fatal wounds. Details beyond that are being kept under locking key for the time being including whether Juba will return in term paying off his promise to see Maximus again from the end of the original movie. No, the reason I said that this hurts my heart is because gladiator is probably one of the best like sword. And sandals moves to come out in the last thirty years. Sure. I mean, we have Braveheart. Everybody wants Braveheart. I'm pretty sure that's yeah. That's that's a standard. I mean, I've never met anybody brave are fucked up. Although I can't tell you to people that it'd be like what the fuck Braveheart. But don't you dare. I want to go out like he did in Braveheart flaming arrows at my dead body. Oh, yeah. Well that part maybe not so much the being stretched in gorge shit. But yeah, the arrows, and should that's cool. I'll go out like that. This is like post mortem, I'm dead floating away. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Gladiator obviously, everybody loves Braveheart. I think almost everybody loves gladiator to. Yeah. Yeah. Also, not too. I personally love the original gladiator. Sure. I say the original like there's another one. Yeah. I hope this doesn't have honestly I just want to put that out there. But I love the original gladiator so much. So to the point where that whole speech that he gives to communist when you know, he's like he's surely you must have a name. He he's like my name is gladiator. And he's like, how dare you turn your back to me, and whatever, and blah, blah, blah, then he has a whole speech where he's like. Well, it's fuck does. He say, oh, he goes on Monday, MS maximum Desio Marie is leader of the armies of the north and commander of the Felix. Legions loyal servant to true emperor. Something I forget his name whoever point he's like a father to a murdered son husband to a murdered wife, and I will have my vengeance. In this life or the next and I was like my dick is so hard right now. You have no idea. Why? Yes, Russell Crowe like, please. Jesus. This kill me. I'll just let you say one one of them powerful speeches that gives you goosebumps. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That's that's right up there with the independence day. Yeah. It was epic. I'm even I don't remember there being that many arms in his speech. Yeah. That is true. That is true. Fatigues. Right. Right. He. As a character. I thought that what they did. With him was really. They were able to have like that strongman. But then still show that he had feelings. He had strength. But he's still tend to hurt it. Yeah. I feel he wasn't just a robot. He yes for sure. Yeah. Has motion, you know. Wasn't MS killing machine. He was a real person and had real struggles in really had to go through things. I feel like Christos from the God of war series is kind of like a play off of Maximus from sure more angry, but still like you can tell that he is a person, and he cares about stuff and has feelings, and it's not just like died. I right right now you said though that. Supposedly in the script or potentially in the script. It will be a Lucious fighting Christians or something in the original plans for the sequel, we have no idea what this one's going to be the original plan. Yeah. But the original planners say I was just waiting for like Kirk Cameron make his way into the film. So. Now, it's been a long time since I've seen the film myself. So I might have some of the details wrong. But Lucius was like you mentioned the son of his former lover, she was the Princess. So she was the empress empress daughter, right something. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Because that was his brother her brother was her brother was the one who I kind of remember him like hitting on her like, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. He was all up here issues. Yes. One. I don't wanna see any like them fight Lucious fighting against Christians. He gets revives fiery Christ like bull. No fuck that shit. You none of that shit. I don't wanna see that. But it strikes me as odd that that will be the route they would want to take in as he actually. Help the boy at the time. This seems like a weird spin to what I think would happen. Yeah. Yes. You would have some kind of bond because he helped save him and shit. Our? I don't know. I mean, maybe, you know, pow absolute power corrupts. Absolutely. You know, he gets to beat the emperor. Now, he's just an asshole just like his uncle was who knows. Maybe maybe. But it seems weird because I remember at the end when he was given his kind of dying speeds how we wanted reform and four like somebody he wanted somebody to be put back in the power like a Senator or something. Is it seems like if this film were to take place eight twenty twenty some odd years in the future is seems like a really weird term for the writers to wanna take. I agree. I agree. I I'm not gonna lie though. Like a a part of me want wanted. I still want to see that movie. Like, I don't know. I wanna sees ambi- Maximus pretty much lighter light you're gonna literally bring him back from the dead. I was like sure sign me up for nations ambi- rustling zombie though, he would be like some Lazarus pit type and he'd be like rejuvenate in you know, I'm better than ever Billick. Oldest fuck, but now, I I read a little bit about this to a couple of different sources. I can't remember exactly where it was to cite it, but they did speculate that it could be potential Lee that Lucius winds up being the actual son of maximum is seen as his own. His mother and Maximus. We're former lovers. So I was wondering if. I don't know how they would be able to put that into the story without the mother assuming cheese to the live explicitly saying something. But I thought it will be a nice jump off point for a sequel. That would not involve Russell Crowe at all. Like, you don't need to even bring back any of those characters who died of the first one this could be an actual sequel sequel. Sure, and I thought that would be a really good idea. Sure, I'll ever you would also need to since his bed. What movie came out? I think two thousand. About you wouldn't need to somehow refresh the memories of everybody who watched the original one. So it would make sense. But I would love to see a I think a sequel could be good. I just don't know what exactly which direction they would take you. But like when you said revitalization in versus the Christians, I got this like religiously. New like this. It'd be passionate of Christ. Who is? Was getting I was I was going to mention that. And that's kind of funny in that initially. Mel Gibson was offered the role that Russell Crowe took. So really? Yeah. It was a regionally offered the role, and I think like. Even Antonio Banderas. Russell Crowe is definitely not the first person. He was low on the totem pole for which Antonio would have been more historically accurate because he is you know of Hispanic descent Maximus, but they got an Australian due to play them. And it's like, yeah. No. That makes sense because you know, they have this scene where like the crowd is like chandy and you're like Spain. And this like the white in the middle of the. Yeah. Okay. He's like, yeah. That's me. Is like, okay, we're just going to ignore that. And pretend like that. He's hispanic. Sure. He's Russell Crowe is Hispanic like Sylvester Stallone is Greek. Right. Right. Right there. Yeah. It's it's not as bad as you know, Highlander. Oh. Yeah. But yeah. The movie was so I don't mean. I mean, Sean Connery is a Frenchman or spent. Yes. But in yes, but the movie was so good that I gave it a past muscle Kroll played a Hispanic. Yeah. I'm sorry. You said Sean Connery, and all I can think of like out of all of the work that Sean Connery has done. The only thing that I can think of is him in that one thousand nine hundred eighty Zorba oh, czar, Dr bag or whatever I'm we're talking about the Moncey him hard on cards against humanity. Humanum read though. With his. He's got a red Speedo on and he's got a gun in standard in the desert, and he's got a ponytail. And he's like looks like he's straddling something. But he's just standing in the in the grass or in the sand. I mean, and he's got like two gun holster belts around him. And he's standing in a red speeding. He looks like a sexy death stroke or some shit. Like, it's weird. The world is going to lose so much. But she's mo- when he dies. Oh, yes. Going to be said. Anyway, I mean, this is I just thought that was interesting when I came across this, and I was just like that please don't do because because because I'm kind of like the polar opposites of Ben like, I feel like if you aren't telling the story of Maximus, then what then there's no more story to tell you know, it's like call it something else. Don't don't be like gladiator the legend continues. Like, no you can't because it's not even about the Coliseum anymore in gladiatorial fights and shit. So why are you even calling gladiator at that point? But anyway, I I completely understand where you're coming from. But they would need some kind well, then again, not necessarily they could give it a different name. And it could be a sequel to something that you don't know unless you know, the I think the only reason that would ever make it is because it's got the gladiator name, right? Right. Right. 'cause like how you talk about. How he's like you don't like to keep doing remakes only reason I do because name recognition that will get people in theaters like I would feel like even if they had a good story. It would just feel cheap to me. It's like just just call it something else that's been her to now. Years after the fact well eighteen hill, even if this movie's two years out sure or year and a half hour ago. That's a long chunk of time to be making a sequel. Well, hey, we Halloween was forty years after the original one. We just saw that. Yeah. But it wasn't forty years after the last sequel. No that's fair. Why as far as your continuity goes those movies in happen, though? But anyway, that's besides more. We're not talking to Halloween. No more. We went down that road. Brought it anyway. All right moving on. For this next one. This was kinda like funny to me because we were just talking about this like DJ mental. If you guys didn't listen to our all the horror episode on evil, dead two. Yes, we saw that too for the first time. And so we were introduced to the character of ash played by Bruce Campbell. And I had before I seen that. I saw this other movie Bruce Campbell was in called Bubba hotel. Where? Where were basically he is in like a retirement home? And he and all the other people here think that they are famous people from the past. Okay. So obviously been from your reaction you seen movie, right? I saw at like. Eighteen I don't think it was even out for year. When I saw I thought it was ridiculously. Okay. Okay. What was the the black, dude? Who did he think he what was it like Kennedy or some shit? Yeah. He thought he was claim to be Jay. If memory serves me he claimed after an attempted assassination. They died him lack. Yeah. Yet. They changed his race or some crazy shit than hide them and protect them. It was it was ridiculous. But Bruce Campbell's character thinks he's Elvis, and I think by the end, you find out he is Elvis, though, he is he is actually Elvis you. Don't don't ever say. And so it's like there's some kind of Necker NAMA con type shit that comes and brings his crazy shit towards the end. I was really fucked up when I saw it I moving and it was a long time ago. But I remember. Parts of it. Anyway, somebody decided it would be a great idea to make a comic book, mashing, these two characters together Ashman from evil dead, movies and Elvis from and they're making a comic out of it. I don't okay, I'm getting this from us hero hype dot com, though, this is via the Hollywood reporter two of Campbell's. Most famous characters will co headline new title from the dynamite entertainment, the crossover titled army of darkness slash bubble hotel. They did not even try on a name. And it was just what's the name of the movies just mashed up when they do like a whole of darkness. They just asked me hotel or something. Army of ho temp would have been better. Hey, I would've took that. Oh. But they will naturally feature. Ashley LIAM's from the evil dead franchise and the quote, unquote, real Elvis Presley as play by Campbell in two thousand two's, bubble hotel. Bihota Scott divall in Vincenzo for Frederich e I think we'll be the creative team launching the comic. The book is described as a series of universe. Spanning events that involve an Elvis jumpsuit with special time travel abilities, a trip to seventies Vegas, plus the review of an evil new book of the dead. And a chainsaw the Necker Namakonha khotip is what they're calling me. Okay. Okay. Hey, go. According to all the team is organic. Okay. The team opens organic because army of darkness in Bobo, hotel, were spiritual siblings. Often viewing the films in close succession. I knew that ashen Elvis team would go together like peanut butter and banana. These two worlds already fit so well together in tone. It made a totally plausible that they could coexist on the same plane wanting to see what it would be like if ash and Elvis interact is a big part of what sparked this, and I'm so thrilled. We'll get to finally see that in these pages. I don't know. I feel like this is like somebody's like fever dream, or like, they got high awesome shrooms out in a desert. Oh my God. I got. Yeah. For a comic. Like, okay. Honestly, though, I feel like this would have made a great movie. Doesn't do a movie because why not let they might. I mean, honestly bless his heart. You know, Bruce Campbell. You know, I think he's hilarious. But all he's ever really going to ever be known for his evil dead guy on burn. No, no because nobody's coming. Oh, you're that guy from Byron lonely. They met I know him from like before we watched evil dead Otis the governor notice at well. No because I had seen army darkness before known. For news. And when I saw burn notice, then I was like, hey, this guy from army darkness and then afterwards I had forgot about army darkness. And when we went back and watched evil dead before I realized that they were all connected. The army darkness was connected to the evil dead movies. Like, hey, this guy from burn domini. Him like a convention your notice. He's like, yes. Sure. Sure. If that's what you wanna know me from. He's like, hey, it was a paycheck. Let's see what what this world. Really Nieves is like Bruce Campbell. Cohen Eddie Murphy, dare you grow every roll out the ever ever played anything all three of the different characters. He played in the Spiderman movies the wrestling announcer. The bell hop dude at the theater in the concierge at a restaurant. The fringe concierge at the restaurant. Yeah. You can play all those characters. I'd watch that. And he he can just brandit link Tyler Perry. Bruce Campbell plays. Bruce Campbell Bruce Campbell. Bruce Campbell Bruce Campbell, right. Reduce written acted edited by music imposed on of Tyler Perry. We're never speaking of kickstart. I was actually going to send you this information this week. But I got busy. Tyler Perry has announced that the media movie coming out in twenty nineteen Medina's funeral or family funeral or whatever is the last one good. Yeah. Go pull gladiator. Outline it'd be Medina's age playing media. So this will be the last that we see of media. You know, I'm disappointed in Tyler period. Because have you guys seen gone girl? They've been athlete movie where his wife. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Tyler Perry plays his lawyer in that movie. He does really good. He's not goofiness. Like, oh, hey, how you doing like ain't doing Annette Bosa? He's being a series of dramatic role. Right. And I was like, you know, what I I like this Tyler Perry. He's got a couple of movies that he's in that he plays that serious. Yeah. But then he went down. Bouma DEA halloween's. Like, honestly, if he was to ever try head a moment to where he have got his career in people in Hollywood to take him seriously in general audiences to now always take him as Medina. He should've stopped doing those movies like longtime ago. Yeah. It's like you can't try to put it to bed next year and be like, no more. No more media movies is like no, that's all you're going to be no for no, I'm sorry. The man was in a movie in address with Eugene Levy, you can't undo that. Oh, I'm starting to have like a fantasy booking moment. Now. I wanna see Tyler Perry play as Madisha alongside of Vicki Lawrence as Thelma Harlem. The bank. When I first somebody was Vicki Lawrence from mama's family. No. When I when I saw Medine for the first time, the only thing, I can think of grandma. From the old like basketball commercials who who used to play grandma. Oh, EU talking before my time here, Ben, you should know who was it. That'd be basically he was like the shed his time. I can't think of his name. Yeah. But who played grandma mom, I have C because because he had the big in the dry. He was basically like doing slam dunks shit but head straight up mustache high initiative, and I was like, okay. God any who? But so yeah. Kids get excited for the army of darkness slash bubble. Hotek comic coming to a comic bookstore near you. I guess. Army of hotel. Yeah. No, honestly. Yeah. I think they should change the name army you hotel, and I was a lot better that does sound pretty sweet I'll give you that. It'd probably better. Well, that would somehow tie in like the Boba hotel movie because that was the name. So it would the army of. Yeah. Yeah. It sounds more pleasing to the ear and army of darkness slash bubble hotel. And like in again, it's like the first two movies aren't even call it army of darkness. But that's just the one. Everybody knows we're not evil dead. Bubba hotel to make more sense army of darkness Boho type. But whatever anyway moving on. I came across this old thread about pop culture romanticism. Okay. And they were talking about just like things that pop culture tries to make seem good that shouldn't be you know, looked at his good. So for example. One of the examples that I had used to kind of help like get these guys going about where I was trying to go with this was. A character who has some kind of mental illness, and or disability who the story comes out in such a way to where that character is good at said thing because they have said illness or disability. It's like because you're for example, you had brought up earlier off Mike monk-. Oh, yeah. Monk? Yeah. The show monk, and it's like because he's obsessive about everything that is. What makes them a good detective? Right. And I'm like that's not how it's kind of exploiting his obsessive compulsive disorder. That's not how you know, mental illness and disorders and stuff work. Right. It doesn't make you a super anything. Like, an example. I use was that bin f- like movie the accountant where he is a high functioning form of autism. So that's supposed to make him super good at math, and he can kill people and learn karate real good and shit because he can process them formation differently. And I'm like that's not how any formal autism works, right? Sorry. Yeah. No work like that in that kind of bothers me. So what I did is I post them like tell me some of the things pop culture that you don't like that puck ultra romanticize is and tries to make seem good which aren't necessarily inherently good things. Right. And been wa I'll let you go ahead and gophers. I honestly don't really think of anything. I mean, the closest thing I can think of kind of be. How the relationship between Harley Quinn and the joker has suddenly become a that's a good one. Just because originally from the cartoon, I'm like, why why I understand her having kind of like a love for joker Stockholm syndrome in relation things like that. But joker views this woman as expendable and always did. So when I see this reimagining in all these people who don't know about the history of the character. I sound like an elitist right now. Basically, it's like this is not the relationship the ways being portrayed in the films. Now is not the relationship that I was introduced to these characters as having. So I don't like it. And it's almost reminiscing of like the fifty shades of green. Yep. That's another. It seems like this woman's in. It reminds me of things I've heard about Melles character in the twilight. Yeah, she's kind of like, this this hopeless can't help herself always being used in the closest thing. I could really think of that might fit within what you were asking about pop culture romanticism says, that's that's actually really good examples. I and I didn't really want to dig deeper into that shirt. Because knowing myself, I will go off at a tangent. Jack this podcast. No. At that. Those are good because I agree. I it bothers me when I see in any form of media where they try to make abusive relationships seem like that's cool. Putting in stuff it's like, the whole point is Harley has basically Stockholm syndrome. She she she's like, a battered wife, and she doesn't know. How? She doesn't know that she can leave or or she doesn't believe this. She deserves better than that. Right. You know, she thinks he's conditioned her to feel like this is what a relationship is supposed to be what me showing you love is all that shit. It's actually kind of funny that been brought up the cartoons. Because I remembered the Batman cartoon there are episodes where he has excuse me kicked from behind out of flight stairs. And he has there. I remember one specifically because I was I was reading an article about it. She presents herself in a sexual way. Like, she wants some hit some of his attention. And he just shoves her off a desk in keeps her going. He's held a gun to her head. Well, he he's giving her up on tobacco man to save him. So yeah, he multiple times in even if. You haven't read the comics, which most people who follow superhero movies today haven't. You're sure. The cartoon was fairly recent within the list twenty five years or because we used to watch it as kids. So you're talking ninety five ninety seven ish. You know, I'm not sure the exact dates on the comet or the cartoon. But. That's the whole generation. That's raising the generation. That's, hey, let's, you know, romanticize Harley Quinn, and it's funny because they got the wrong message. Yeah. Because the cartoon actually it actually makes me wonder how they put some of that on the cartoon in the first dust fair. But I feel like the cartoon portrayals of joker in Harleys relationship, which is the original origin of that relationship for those that don't know Harley Quinn was not a character in a comic aided her for the animated series. Right. And she became a comic character afterwards. But they the way they portrayed. It was that it was an abusive relationship, and it wasn't healthy and Batman and multiple characters even poison. I tells her like you need to leave him like he's good for you. So I feel like other interational especially suicide squad and shit. Like that I feel like they've taken wrong message from that. Yeah. And they've remained assize it in a bad way. I don't leave a bad taste in my mouth. Okay. All right. No good. Well, my main one was monk. But then I started thinking about afterwards in. Any basically any movie where they have a much much older man who comes in his love interest is much much much younger woman or practically girl, you know, interview with the vampire with Tom Cruise and Kirstin dunce she was like thirteen and he was supposed to be sure. Couple of hundred years old. Sure. Yeah. I mean, any any form of that? And there is quite a few out there where they take this much much older character, and they make him fall in love with this. Barely legal. I have issues with that. I get your point. I would say in that movies defense, though, is that it never seen at least to me. It never seemed like there was like a sexual like tension between them it was like more like he Brad Pitt's character one of the family, and he was mad because he felt like Tom Cruise stole that from him when he turned him into a vampire, so they kind of adopted this young girl. She's mad because she had her her womanhood stunted because she can never age she can never develop in be a woman, and, you know, have children her own or be sexy or anything like. Sexual component of it, the whole vampirism thing. Yeah. I mean in some studies that's linked to sexual. Oh, yeah. Yeah. The whole vampire lore in the gi's way intertwine wrapped up in sex and auto shit, and like less fullness that was more of the way that I went is that they actually put in turned her to vampire instead of sure in just in general just in any form of media. Yeah. That kind of bothers me too. When it's like, some forty some euro, dude. And he's like, you know, like a professor or something he's like banging his college student or something like guess, she's an adult, but there's something predatory about that to me very much. So, you know, because especially when you are in a position of power or influence over that person. I actually had saw a mean yesterday I was on Facebook. And one of the groups that I'm in, you know, it's it's an adult only eighteen and plus sure crazy dirty jokes, whatever. I think isn't it. Plus, the one of the the memes kinda took a little too far for me almost to the point where I've tossed around the idea of leaving the group it's a picture of a woman sitting in a hospital bed with a black guy in a broken arm. Oh, this is going to be and it says. What do you call? What do you call a woman who has landed herself in a hospital, and then the me modern eath of it said a dumb bitch that can't make sandwich and follow directions. And I kinda took a step back. And I was surprised that there weren't more comments on it. There was only thirteen only thirteen comments and some people were very against this meme in somewhere very much supporting it, and I had to resist the urge to make a comment because a lot of people had made the comment. Oh, yeah. You know, domestic violence is is now funny. Great, obviously. It just kind of rubbed me their own way. And if that's a something that's a mean in that's funny. And that's accepted that is kind of what we're talking about here. That's that would be fuck romanticize. Yeah. Yeah. Making light of it. Yeah. Right. Like, it's okay for guys beat on their wives and girlfriends, whatever we'll think back in Ben wa helped me out here. What is the name of that show where family guy, basically spoofs it at the intro of every episode? Oh on the family with all in the family were that show where the main character? He is. It's implied that he's abusive to his wife. It is in verbally able. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like, mentally verbally, necessarily physically. But I'm pretty sure he's it's implied that he's like a racist. Oh, yeah. And like and shit like that. And I'm pretty sure homophobic to pretty much anything you could be negative. You know, he was and. Yeah. And I get like the other characters were trying to show how he's wrong for being that way. But I still feel that they were kind of celebrating that kind of culture and mindset as well at the same time. So not actually no they weren't that was Norman Lear trying to bring that to light to make people realize how absurd it really is. And that's what made it funny. That's why he always had the foil in meathead head or rob Ryan sure L, the jeffersons was a spin off. Yeah. I don't know. Maybe it's kind of like. Thing where I think people took the wrong message from it. Sure. Sure. What that was his intention. Yeah. What your intention was in? What has come across? It's totally different things. Because when it's another show from back in a day where the guy he's like one of these days Alessi's Powell street pointers. Yeah. It's like a honeymoon. He's like straight up talking about I'm going to knock you to fuck. This just like a laugh track or whatever would go in. And it's just like that shouldn't be funny. Oh, you that was back in like the fifth we still had gender role. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. But but do you have any other one before I know not that I can think of I might of the six o'clock this morning. Well, to an extent. Yeah. The one that really jumps out at me are women or these girls who have like no self esteem or are are really catty easily manipulated abuse by guys who take advantage of them. And how that gets you'll Matt assizes? Oh, he really cares about. No, that's not a healthy relationship. That's what bothers me. I agree. And to a lesser extent. Because it's just the punchline not meant to really be romanticized. But I've seen like light gags bits of like retards strength where somebody is mentally deficient like super stronger or like like you said, no he wasn't like, mentally retarded or autism or anything. He just had OCD. Yeah. But but I mean. It's still a psychological thing that people need to be treated for and not necessarily. Yeah. Like, yeah. Lightly. The point should be. Hey, this doesn't make you different from everyone else. Not this makes you better right than like normal. Right. Not better. I didn't want to go down this rabbit hole too much. So the first thing, mentally, I guess consciously this happened when I kind of thought about the topic instantly chill to like the positive side of the spectrum. I don't wanna go off the rails too long. But do you guys have any remembrance of his show called life goes on? No it went from like eighty nine like a few years into the early nineties. Start a family the family, but one of the main characters. Corky. Played by Chris Burke, Corky was in autistic kid. He was mentally handicapped when he was high functioning, so he could actually go to high school in do things. It was a really good trauma that used to come on Sunday nights. I would watch that. I think it came out like. We're on the same area. So I mean, like all our TV shows it'd be on at the same. I believe it came on Sunday nights on ABC. Like, right. I think after either before or after like, America's funniest videos and stuff. I I used to watch that every Sunday when I was a kid. I love that show and it really actually presented. I don't know the PC term so mentally handicapped retarded autistic, whatever you want to say it presented those sorts of people a really good light. Because this kid wasn't autism actor who played okay, okay himself. So it was it was a really good show. And I don't think it's even airs anymore on cable if it does or if you happen to be able to catch like a DVD of it highly recommend you watch the show because it was a really good show. Time is far as mine. I had more time to think about this guy. So I had a bunch, but I'm not gonna go into super big to just kind of get you the highlights. Men or women who interrupt weddings to confess their love to another person Deyan cue that shit drives me fucking insane. When I see that movies. It's like, wait. No. But I loved you. And he doesn't understand about that passionate night that we head because we were on a business trip, and we were stuck together on a plane or and this is like, yeah. Are you fucking serious right now? Like, we have build a life. Together. We are trying to continue to build a life with each other. We have known each other for like, perfect example Titanic. Yes, Billy's ain't plays asshole as obnoxious rich character in that movie. But they have known in heaven were poor with each other for some time. Now that was the thing though is they didn't. More sewed into random gonna she met that same day on the boat nicely thirteen. She was she was that unhappy look like she was ready to throw disown her family and just throw her life away to go run off with this motherfucker who she don't know from Adam. I'm like an promise you give him one night of drinking out with his buddies. He'd been cheat. No her because he seemed like one of them while you know, like, you can't pin him down type characters, and I'm like, so you was ready to die to be with this, dude. Like, okay. All right. Sure. Whatever. But. Yeah. Anytime that happens in movies that that bothers me on so many levels because I'm like not to say that people don't break up people for shitty reasons. But if you tell me that you just met some random person over the course of a day or two and now you were so enamored with them that you willing to throw away whatever future you had playing with somebody else. Granted they could have been asked old it could've been, you know, not good person for you. But you should. Should leave them because they are a good person to be with because you met a new random of that. You understand like that rubs me wrong. Oil so many levels. Another one that I have we've pretty much touched on us a lot. So I'm not going to really go into it. But mentally manipulative relationships like we talked about with Harley and shit and bunch of other character relationships like that all that kind of shit bothers me. One of my favorites. Self righteous asshole characters who everyone thinks is cool. Tony stark is the biggest asshole in all of the. But everybody loves him. The characters in the universe will call him on his shit. Sure occasionally, but everybody still likes Tony pretty much. Like that kind of stuff fares. Bueller? Fears moves day off is one of my favorite view fares. Bueller is an ad reprehensible people I have ever seen in my life. Yes. He gets everything he wants and everybody loves him. He's a horrible fucking. Yes yet. Hey, you're gonna say some Ben. Ours is gonna. I absolutely say nineteen eighty five. I absolutely love that movie. But if you go back, and you watch it there's no reason that I should love them. Oh, no, no. I actually showed it to amber for the first time last year. And I think she enjoyed it too. But at the end of it, I was like, yeah, he is like evil like like he makes his payers think he's like on his fucking deathbed. He has the whole school thinking, he's got like cancer some shit raising money. And it's in the poor principal assistant appealing his shit. Yeah. But the poor principle like, yes, he was an asshole. But he was doing his job. Now granted he went above and beyond the job. He principal. Yeah. We showed him for years is house that was a little bit too much. But he was just like I'm finally going to catch him. Right. Like, I'm going to finally expose him for his ship in. So I understood his motivation. I think he went too far, but he was just doing his job. And we're supposed to not like him because surprise his best friend never called him out on his shakes kind when the car when are back, and he sees all the mileage only he kind of he's like tries, but at the same time he he gets over in. Yeah. He's like all this happens within the same day. And he's just like, okay. It's all good. He's like I'm going to take responsibility for this. I always wanted to see fares. Bueller? Yeah. And everybody just hates him because he was such a dick. But go ahead. There actually was a I was wrong. I think about it a little bit the movie came out in eighty six eighty five what you were saying you wanna see a sequel there actually was a television show which only lasted one season in like nineteen ninety or something. And go to how Buehler was wasn't asshole his friend Cameron camera. Yep. Cameron Cameron who was played by the guy who would kind of be like the chauvinist spin. Yep. Cameron Gandhi Mueller. Get rid of get rid of like the romance aspect. Okay. His friendship with ferris was very similar to some of these women. We've been talking about. Yeah. That's true. He's he's the Harley to his joker for sure. Damn our never see. He's not expendable like that. But it's the same kind of concept doesn't have much this person doesn't have much confidence. They're easily manipulated their talked to doing things that they otherwise is though because there's a scene where fares is on the phone with the principal and kicks Cameron in they ass. And he's like, well, why did you do that? You kicked me? Why yell at me? 'cause you kick me, you know, like, they go back and forth with each other. I think though what their relationship though, that fares to some degree or another in his own twisted way. He actually does care about Cameron. Whereas joker. I don't think on any level. Oh, no. I think the joker just wants a companion. Well, no that that's the point. That's why maybe Harley Quinn joker. When it be the sure, but it's so. Yeah. But their relationship is somewhat abusive where fair is does. I mean, he. Alienates not the right word. But he. He took advantage of his friend to use his friend's father scour. Yeah. When he he exploited him as exploited his friend in in for his own personal benefit, and he claimed that it would help Cameron too. But Cameron saw like a much bigger risk than reward. Unfortunately. Because like you said everything always works out for fair, we got the happy ending. But in all reality. We don't know what happened because those mileage never got. Mileage on all are kicked out of him. Shit foot. A mileage kicked a car out of we don't have. Equal. There is no camper. But I'm saying we like we knew at the end of the day. They were going to get he was going to get co. Yeah. Yeah. And they try to play like this moment. Like cameras finally gonna stand up for himself. He's like, no. I wanted to see I'm Glen. And he's going to have to you know, I'm just going to have to deal with it. He's gonna have to look me. And we're gonna have to this any other chat, you would've never had the scenario. If it wasn't for fares. Don't try to turn this into. Oh, it's something positive to bring Cam outta his show making more. A Ferrari and side of a garage. This is why we do not have faced. Bueller partout? I'm telling you Cameron is Cameron father shot both of them. But, but, but my last thing that I hate that pop culture romanticize is and this is probably because my girlfriend watches a lot of Grey's anatomy. So I've seen a lot of this show. But I'll see shows like ER or any kind of fire and rescue show anything like that public health and safety type shows, especially ones like Grey's anatomy, where they break the rules. But everything still works out. You know, it's like, yeah. There's never any repercussions for. They will like Carol in the fuck. And 'cause it. Yeah. Like they will outright like confront families parents in yell at them about how bad appearance they are. And it's like your child this that and the other in bowl on you, treat them like shit. And it's like you would have lost your job hospital with a guy sued. It. Everything's okay. Mighty end of it. You're like, oh, you're right. Dr Phillips like you know, we weren't treating our child correctly. And it's like, no fuck you. Like that kind of stuff drives me crazy when I see that shit where I'm just like. And you're like, oh, you can't do this against -ocial rules in this in this. I don't care. I got a patient to save. And it's like, yeah. You had no patience after this episode because inner is never any repercussions. Every now, and then they try to make it seem like somebody might have gotten trouble, and we'll review boards going to have to look over this. But they never get fired. It's always it's always wagging finger out not do that again. But nothing ever happens. I should like have you ever saw house house was asshole? Oh my God. I because he always figured out. What was wrong? It was like oh forgiving like. No. This new like is that kind of like, Tony Tony's always an asshole. Tony always comes in and figures out a way to save the day, the smartest guy in a room. So it was just like, well, I guess we we put up with him being an asshole because this house is a good thing. Though. I forgot about house but house was yes. So any kind of show the dick any kinda showed? It's like that where they do some asshole ish type shit or something that's really just outright even illegal sometimes hopping, pills and. Yeah. And but it's it's fine. But ended up so it's fine. Everything's fine. Whatever everything's that. That almost that. That's kind of on the fringe of that character being a bit of an anti hero, I suppose, but that's for later. That's related. Okay. Okay. All right. But yeah, no. That was. Was our little things that we hate that. Pop culture tries to make some cool or okay or mantis is in some way, shape or form those fun. I like that. Nice on a very special episode. Forgive. It gives some some meat and potatoes to our show. Sure. We don't always talk about superheroes and shit mostly. But. Anyway, moving on. All right kids. So the are doing another ask us anything. I do not have any fun game show music for this one. There is no eight it's that time again like there's there's nothing like that for this one. So sorry anti-clinton. Sorry, guys. I kind of liked it though survey says, yeah. Like you could put the little game show again. Like, you always do envy like. Esco anything? No, okay. Loan on this. Let's just keep going. All right. Fuck you. All right move it on everybody. No. No. No. No. No. No. I like where your head is give you that. I like where you're at is. I don't know. I mean, like I said I figured it doesn't always have to be a big grain standing song and dance though. I do enjoy doing it. You have no idea. I know the joy in your face. But this week we got like a few interesting range of questions. The first one is going to be hard as shit because I did not have enough time to sit down and think about it. So you guys might have better answers than me. But the first one comes from the IMDB journey podcast and find them on Twitter at I m b d IMDB Jesus internet movie database IMDB journey. They said favorite year in movies. So about you go first Mel g thinks you're already I already going and ready to go. Okay. What year? Did we get like? Fuck. Been why are you ready now? What year did we get fuck redid not get? Actually, I thought this was going to be a difficult question. But then I kind of thought back to like a few movies are really liked and what you're they came out. And then I did a little bit of digging. And it turns out that a lot of movies that I really love came out your nineteen ninety two. Really, okay. Okay. It was a great year for films. Let me let me drop a few for you here. Now mind you a number of these are obviously for me. But it's not like I liked them clearly because value there actually good films. The start with the original Mighty Ducks. Okay. Okay. Buffy the vampire slayer. Yes. Okay. A few good men. Yeah. Truth hurt. Wayne's world. Yes. Okay. Okay. And. Know, we're going to get for that the bodyguard. Okay. Okay. Oh, that's what you're Vinnie. Mommy mile can base in your candidate singer as the cartoon chicken cool were. Okay. Anyway, right now, Mr. baseball line love, Mr. baseball. That's a really good film. Okay. I don't think the critics really loved it. But I think it's fucking great. But now we're gonna get into some of the some of the ones that might really hits you when the kid the kid feels all right? We're gonna start off with this might not hit for you. You may not never seen. It is probably one of my top ten favorite films of all time. Even though it's not that good critically ladybugs. Never heard of it. Rodney Dangerfield has the coach of girls soccer team. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I still remember going to the God of the Saginaw eight the not before it was even the dollar quad, not eight. The go see that. Encino, man. Yes. All right. Three ninjas. Yes. To really good. I liked the second one in the first one actually, surprisingly, I don't like any of we got a couple more Kurtulus to hear fern gully. Well, this was not a cartoon a league of their own. Yes. Tom Hanks, and the biggest film, which is something that we discussed a couple of weeks ago. Yes. There you go. Nice. So in those aren't even all the films that came out that I liked there's just a big list of them. And I knew some of these came out ninety two I didn't realize they all did. So they actually got excited to good shoe signed for. Signed for. Yeah. All right. No you over scroll. And did you did you find? Because if not I'm ready. No, I got to ninety seven. Oh, okay. Ninety seven. All right. Hit me. We had Titanic. Okay. L A confidential. Boogie night. Okay. As good as it gets. Okay. Goodwill hunting or Gatica not that anybody's ever seen that. But me, okay. Again at face of face off. Oh, yes. So today saw. John Travolta, Nicolas Cage. We had men in black the first one. Okay. The fifth element. Good one starship troopers. Yep. Starship curse? Austin powers the first one. Okay. International the ministry. All right e second dressing park. So the lost world. Conair? Okay. All right. Okay. My best friend's wedding. Okay. Julia roberts. The rump com. Devil's advocate. Yes, I loved movie canneries, Al Pacino us and Konda. Ice cube ings. Scream came out that year. Okay. We had anesthesia I know what you did last summer. Okay. Tomorrow never dies for those JAMES BOND fans liar liar. Ooh. I love liar. Liar is bloom. The breakdown G I, Jane. That ever popular Howard Stern's private parts does actually the album. That's actually the album some kid friendly ones. We had the anesthesia and Hercules come out that year. Okay. And I'm gonna get a lot of ship for this lot of shit. But I don't care. Batman and Robin. No, the nipples false. Yes. Mr. our notes, Wirtz nigger and George Clooney everyone chew. Ashley Judd, Morgan Freeman in kiss the girls. That's a good movie the rainmaker with Damon. I mean, most of these I knew came out in ninety seven. That's a good list. That's a good list. They don't hit me as hard as ninety two though. So there's a good say ninety ninety two was a good year. But in my defense, I didn't know that most of those came out ninety two because I was only one so to be fair. But that's what I was saying to new number of these came out in ninety two I didn't know all of them did. Right. But I figured it was best to go through. So many movies and then look at start from right soldier for being Ben be older. So yes, I get you. I mean looking back yet the movies that dropped in ninety two. Some of those are like my favorite all-time movies Aladdin is my favorite Disney movie ever. But I mean ninety seven had a pretty good list. Okay. All right. Fuck the shit. I got the best year movies. Hanes. Dow. Okay. Maybe not is if you say the one that I just looked then I'm gonna be pissed. Okay. All right. You're ready. Brace yourself. Before the turn of the century before the new about. Nineteen ninety nine. Okay. All right. All right. That's not the one that. I just looked at all right here. Oh, yes. Oh, Hans now may matrix yell. Okay. All right fight club. Yup. American Beauty the green mile the six cents being John Malkovich. Okay. Giant Toy Story to the best. Toy story. Office space. The Blair witch project. No Star Wars the phantom in is. No, no, no. Eyes wide shut which some people don't like them actually movie. Boys. Don't cry the talented, Mr. Ripley American pie s. Dogma? I love that movie the mummy Britain Frazier. Best my best one ten things. I hate about you love that movie. Tarzan? Yup. Boondock saints. Yup. Yup. Sleepy hollow. Virgin suicides. I liked it. Hang on. There was one other one here. Big daddy. Some are Sam big daddy Girl Interrupted idle. Hanes idle hands cruel intentions. Yes. Yes. Skipped over that. When two and there's there's a lot more, but ninety nine had some good nine was good. I was shit talking. I don't think it's the best ever. But a lot of good good. Good movies game up here. Say ninety nine head a lot of rom coms varsity blues never been kissed. She's all that. And so those were those were a lot of teenage you could tell the film's, really. Lucie. Come out that year is blue as my head is like a shark fan. Hello. Oh, poor Illo rolling around that. There was only three sharks? That was the last like song he ever put out. And hey, I ended his music on a low don't how he's doing. What Chicago's music for phantom ever. Stop who he'll be dead still releasing music. Who's that? Hello, really, he'll be he'll be releasing stuff from the grave. He's one of the best ever. So this one came from Tuesday's with Mary at T W M underscore podcast on Twitter. They say favor anti hero from any universe. And of course, why did shut why kids he's bed ass. And he's got really good aim anti euro, though. I guess if you go off to suicide. Yeah. I guess so because the comics he's just a villain pretty much. But if you go off a wheel Smith's version true. Sure. Okay. Kind of what I'm going off of. Okay. All right, fear. Fear been one who you get. Will house is almost anti hero. If anything he's laying chaotic goods, you're okay. So I wouldn't really consider him that it's kind of a toss up. We got stone cold Steve Austin. One don't call Geeta. Full. Fuck you that is so good thing. You had me with stone cold. You lost me a Geeta? Oh, no Geeta all of Geeta Geeta. It's over nine thousand. Oh my God. Oh that is really good damn. That's good. I can't outdo Tosseh. Is it's toss up. I'm like I couldn't choose between the two. I mean, let's put it this way. Austin was a he'll that became an anti hero. He was never like pure, babe. No. Best anti hero. And while Geeta is now face a good guy. He's still is like a begrudging. Oh, yeah. Donald it. He's with Bomani has. He's he's not as much of an anti hero as he used to be. But he's still he's still fist. Oh, yeah. No for sure God damn to him. No. Those are good because they peaked in light my love for both those. Yes, don't coast vase, and he's character for both those characters at around the same time. So God damn those are good damn. Those are good. Shit. I can't even think of one now, I guess, and I mean, I'm this is going to be a cop out answer just for recent nece and all that. But deadpool dead polls, probably right now, my favorite anti euro, fair enough, you know. You know, I mean. Honestly, honestly, just because he's funny. I mean, because I don't really, you know, he isn't ever done anything so cool or he had his cool. Turn like, you know, he's a mercenary. So he's never really been a good guy. But he tries to do. Good things from time to time. Right. What it benefits usual, right? Braga. Okay. So we're going to go into next one. This one is by crime in movies, and you can find them on Twitter at crime in movies. They said do you guys believe that cloning is taking place because Gucci looks different laugh minus up. Okay. Now when I read that I needed to make a mental note that I need you to explain because I don't I think he's talking about the rapper gang today. Still confused. I don't I I wouldn't say just off of that person though. But I've made this joke for years that they have Leonardo dicaprio's like blood in a vial shirt share in a lab share. And they just keep cranking out these like young actors that look like they could be his like cousins spring or some shit. There's like nine different actors working to day who look like a Lino young. Oh, yeah. Matter of fact, there's a guy. So. Okay. So when the venom trailer, I came out there was another movie that was coming out that was very similar to called upgrade in the guy who and if you don't know who this is you might want to look up, but look up Tom hardy and Joseph Gordon green. Yes, they look so much alike. It is not even funny like to so much to the point. When I would see the trailer for venom and see the trailer for upgrade. I'm like it's time already in two movies are really similar or. No, okay. David, Gordon, green, David, Gordon, chose Gordon. So I like that it's something Gordon, green, whatever. But he looks liking. It is Dave almost identical to Tom hardy. It's like creepy. How much they look alike. So yeah, I I would say some things somewhere. Yes. Somebody owning some celebrities and shoot who knows if anything I want to get to a point where we can clone because if you're rich enough, and you can get a clone yourself anytime you ever needed an organ transplant or a blood transfusion or anything like that tissue, spinal fluid. Anything like that you got to copy yourself? So you're always be compatible. You know, this really you're talking altered carbon now. Yeah, I know right. That this sounds vaguely familiar like a movie, then I might have seen altered carbon. No. No, no, definitely if it was on Netflix. It was not something that I've seen. What do you get that? Like the whole. Oh, will we're going to make copies. So that you can it was Gatica. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You harvest your or you're right. Right. Right. Right. Yeah. It was definitely gotta. Yeah. You just brought up to I know. Six AM. Okay. You're right. All right. So the next one that we got here is by great job. Thank you. And you can find them on Twitter at G J T Y podcasts. They said if you could have played any Burt Reynolds role in a movie who and why been wa go ahead. That's tough. Like like real the first thing that popped in my head would just be like Jack horn, boogie nights. But oh, okay. All right. All right. That one's anymore ski skier. But yeah. No, okay. Well, no, there's probably going to be people who if you ask this question, you're going to get some of the obvious answers. You're gonna end up getting like. Already call this from smoking already calling. Okay. Neither one of say neither one of mine yet. So are you going to get a JJ from cannonball, run dago? Yeah. That's another good one. Is going to be two of the big ones. I don't know. Maybe maybe I don't wanna be on. Maybe I just wanna be behind the mic. I'll be Charlie. Yep. Yep. Goddamn. Yes, sir Reynolds. Yeah. Yeah. He plays the. Yeah. Charlie in the in done deluise is like the other dog. It was Trump. Yeah. Wasn't sure that's another good. Disney movie to Aldo's gotta have. Anyway, it's not Disney. But. No, really. Oh, wait, other people made cartoon movies wasn't Disney. Ben knox. Did I'm shot. Okay. They actually put out anesthesia anesthesia, not Disney. Brought she's brought to you by wells. Disney bought FOX. Well, now, Disney everything's in ninety seven when she wasn't Disney. This podcast is brought to you by our friends at Disney. Go ahead. I would say. His role in the longest yard as Nate Scarborough. Okay. Okay. I don't know why. I just. I don't know maybe because I wanna make it in prison. Put Nate Scarborough was very clever in very scheming. And he stuck it to the man. Hey. So you wanted him in the remake not him in the remake her original. Because Adam saying what is the guy now the remake? But he he still was the same character in either both of them, right? Right. She's like across was he wasn't. Yeah. Wasn't. I don't think he was any in. No, I think you should. No, Adam Sandler is name was Adam sandlers care. His it. But he doesn't play the same. Character. Got you either. Which way be Burt Reynolds in prison. Burt Reynolds sticking to the warden ever football game. That sounds terrible. Anyway, the next one we got is from infamous, and you can find them at information's on Twitter. They said favorite person to watch do impressions of other famous people. Can I can I say myself? Yes, 'cause I'm like stealing show here. No. Probably God damnit been unit who I'm talking about. But I think we talked about him once before what's that comedian Erie speared? Speier's ears. He does some of the best impersonations sorta got his shack impersonation is like some of the funniest shit. I love so his God. I love Denzel. Denzel. Sorry. I kind of took the wind on sales over there. All right. There was another TV alumni impressions to Frank Kellyanne. Oh. His. It's John Madden is just yachts. Yes. And I watched him on ESPN or something he gives it an impression of. Charles Barkley in front of Trump's book. And you could just see his face. Yeah. These not my pig. But I just remember that because it made me what was yours internally left. Kevin pollack. Okay. I could see that. Actor comedian. No, I know who he is. But what what impersonations does he do? Oh god. He can do a lot. Anybody can do Christopher Walken. I love what he Allen, Robin Williams. He's done Pacino. Here's a pot. Murphy. Christopher lloyd. Can a podcast now has. Everybody has podcast my dog has pockets, and I don't even have a dog. So. No, it's funny. Because when when you said. Because for walk in the first person, I think of and I know he's supposed to be dead to us now because all fucked up shit that came out about him. But Kevin Spacey does a really good Christopher Walken. Like he does. But anyway. So our very last one we got from chewed gum. And they are on Twitter at chewed gum. Pod. How do you feel about the TV show? Gotham is it accurate to the comics Iago, fellas DJ? Accurate to the come. I because I know that been wa he's not a big comic reader, and you probably watch them either. I mean, like, I'm a big fan of lowering Graham, but it never watched Gilmore girls. Boy, I I'll tell you. No, no, no, no Gotham is its own thing. It is else worlds comic at best. What if comic? But. No that that is. No, okay. So Jerome is not a character in the comic books. No. He's I saw a picture. Well, almost talked about this because I know you watch Gotham if you seen the new bane is gonna look like a nice show now bringing to the show, and I'm like get the fuck outta here. Man like, it is some like really bad Hobo costs. Not good. Because this like this. I'm split on this question. I love Gotham. But is it accurate? It was nowhere beer, then damn com. Not even though I don't know what shameless is trying to provoke with. Question year. But I like I'm splitting the baby in half on this one. I absolutely love Gotham loved to Rome. Love what they've done with it. It is not at all based on a comic, not even close. Not even no not even a little bit pennyworth is more based off of a coming. Right. Right, right. The hit movie is more accurate to them. Is. No, no, saying saying calling the Elford penny where series pennyworth. Yes. Yes. Is penny. Word that's going to cause confusion. Yeah. Yeah. Owner making it showed. It's going to know. It's like, no, not the dancing clone. Oh, yeah. That is Butler like, really, wait. What y'all paying money to make this? Okay. But no that that's everything that we get for ask us anything this week. Thank you again to everyone who submitted these were really fun. We may do one again next week. If if we don't come up with a specific subject for dumb shit of the week doing other one of these because these are fun because I don't know what to expect right, right? And they're completely unscripted. Yeah. Yes. Well, as our most of our show is shoot a week as well. But we kind of go into it knowing like a general idea Ray, what's he like bam in your face because the three of us have a very interesting dynamic, and especially with there being a little bit of an age gap between each one of us. Sure. Sure. It kinda like the movie lists ninety to ninety seven ninety eight whatever nine I'm sorry. Ninety nine. Anyway. Anyway, it's I agree with you. I think this is cool in its in agreed. I'm good with that. All right, anyway, thanks again, guys doing this. If if even if we're not doing a scheduled ask us anything if you ever want to ask us anything you can go ahead and send us any of your questions on Twitter. We're at giant leap the number four geeks. Or if you just want to Email it to directly it is official OG g g mail dot com. All right. We wanted to talk about video games a bit. And we're not gonna talk about red dead redemption to we're not gonna talk about fortnight or anything that's coming out of pipes fallout. Seventy six none of that shit. We're gonna talk about a game hasn't even been released. It. And not really this is just going to be a springboard into our conversation. But I'm getting this from gamespot dot com. Basically there is a resident evil to remake in the works. And it's going to be coming out soon. And it's as the resident evil remake is coming on January twenty fifth twenty nineteen for PS four Xbox One NPC while the remake is striving to stay true to the mood and tone of the original is taking some big liberties controls and camera are more akin to later isn't evil games making for uniquely. I take on the classic. No. I came across a story because they were talking about how they were going to have the original costumes for Leon and clear the main characters from the two games that you could play in get that nostalgia. From the original original resident evil game to them. Sorry. And basically. This came up, and I was just thinking. They've remained a few games. They've remastered if you was well masters. I don't I'm never too hot. Onery masters because it's like you're literally just taking the same game and making it look prettier. Right. And it's like, well, why would I pay full price to play the same game again? Right. If you're not doing anything different. Okay. Yeah. He looks cool by that's when people like Onishi remastered final fantasy seven. I'm like, no, I beg game and beat it already. If you're gonna do some Winnie make either add new content. Take a different twist on it or something. But don't just put it out again with better graphics. But so my question to you, guys wise. Think of a video game that you liked from your past that you would like to see a remake of now. I will ask Melville first because you're standing right at me. And I could see you. So why don't you? Go ahead and go yet. You know, you don't have to give a whole ton of information. But just a game that you liked from your past that you would wanna see remain. And what do you think they could do to make it enjoyable for today's gaming audience? Okay. I actually come up with two of them talk. And one of them is kinda weird random, but I enjoyed it. It was called golden axe. Okay. It was for the Sega. Oh, okay. So you know, what this then knows what I'm talking about in essentially it was like. I don't want to dump the game down, but Xena warrior Princess riding on a dinosaur accent people through the city. Okay. That you got me. You got me so Xena dinosaurs in modern times, I'll take. I mean. Yeah, you could get off the dinosaur. You the fight. But she did have a like a double sided axe thing. That was like slashing people. Okay. And I think that there's a lot of potential for that. Okay. Now what kinda game at the time? Was it was like a. Like a top down game with the. For the Sega in what it is. You can see the city, and you can see them side scrolling. Okay. Okay. All right. Still. No. So now now if you were to remake it now, would you want it to be like a open world game like say like GTE where you can go anywhere, and do whatever you. Yeah. I think that would be kinda cool. You could customize her weaponry, you could customize the stuff on the dragon dinosaur looking dude. Oh, yeah. Put like armor. I remind me did the dragon dinosaur thing have armor. Why are you talking about the original like because the original one you say it was saying it was actually an arcade game dragon's? They did not know. Armor. It's a drag. Just be mouse. You would knock the enemy off the mound. Clamming right. You can get hit a few times or knocked off a few times before it would right, right? So goal next. That was that was that was the way the quarters. Hey, I I never played it for the arcade version, but I played the shit out of it for the. And I actually still have golden X on my Sega at home. So okay. Do you have the original? Or do you have it in one of the six hundred one? Oh, no, no, I have originals. Nice. I have original Genesis. And I have the black cartridge. It goes in there noise. And then the other one was very random obscure to it was. Do you? Remember kirby? Yeah. Yeah. I'd like to see a revamp version a Kirby where you can do more than just the tetris beans that they played. Sure, sure. I'd like to see like adventures Kirby. I got I got some similar to that. But sure, no go ahead. Good. I don't know. I just I always played that game. And I thought that there was more potential to it. And I know that there was a cartoon of it in the nineties. And it was pretty much a lot of Dame's that came out of ninety cartoon after awhile. I see see Kirby. Like, a Mario party type thing where it could be. Okay. You could you know, you can make Kirby do different things and see like what kind of power is a little pink football head. Okay. Okay. I'm gonna say they actually still do make urban game on this. There's a game that came out on the switch Kirby's bene- franchise. Hey, it's only one of those things where like they're always kind of making a game of in some kind of Kirby Kirby is still in like the. The. The up game super smash, bro. Kirby's Vance and they still make Kirby light to platforms like the original on on the GameBoy. I would say I haven't seen Kirby since a super Nintendo. So no it didn't necessarily have to be something still back early in production. But just something that you would like to see redone. Yeah. From what it hasn't been done. Yeah. No, that's fine. That works. All right, actually fact about Kirby Kirby's adventure was one of the final games released on the ES. And I believe it was nineteen Ninety-three. A lot of people. Don't realize Kirby initially his first game was out on the GameBoy self nothing. I did not know that. But I did have they originally GameBoy. So should have known that. Nice. Well, you just been learning. No. Go ahead. And it's all you. Oh is on me now. Oh, man. I don't know, man. I don't play a lot. I thought about it. I thought about it and I had to heart. I'm like, what did I play when I was younger that I really liked that hasn't really been revamped recently. And it got me thinking one of my favorite games, I used to rent back when you rent any s codes was adventure island to island. And venture actually a re skin version of the wonder boy series. Excuse me. Hudson. Soft bought the rights to the game itself and not the character. So the head of the filter characters. So you've got like the wonder boy series, which continued making games, and then you have the adventure island series, which kept making games. However, the last adventure island game that was made came out in two thousand nine on the we and it was like a tutti platformer. It hasn't been like a decade since they've made a game. But I would love to see master Higgins brought into a three d world. Like put that on the Swiss like, you have you know, Mario three d and why not take that series develop that in to a three d platformer they've done. It was onic they've done with Mario shirt, master Higgins, isn't a huge staple. But I like the game. So I figured why not modernize that for today's audience because like the you have an ax. You throw your accident enemies. You have to continuously eight fruit. Survive. Say those mechanics could be made into a game that people would play in a Herbie totally see that. Aaa title. But I totally see being like steam game shit up. I'd play it. And then and then another series now mind you back in twenty thirteen they did come out with like almost like an Emo RPG on Stein of shadow run called shadow run returns. I'm a huge fan of shadow run. Fennel run is actually began as like a tabletop RPG it came in the late eighty s it was very cyberpunk. But it brought magic back. So it was like magic fantasy cyberpunk universe. And I love the games. They put it on the snus and the Genesis and I like what they did with shadow run returns. But I would like to see it kind of go back more to its traditional means except give it a template like she five where it's not like it's not so much like. Like in everquest or a. While world of warcraft, but make it play like grand theft auto open world sandbox, you can go anywhere where they would be mister Johnson, Duke and assign you run you can get just make it play like that. I would love to play grand theft auto. But in the universe of shadow run that could work that honestly could work really well, actually. One of the things I really loved about the Genesis version as opposed to the snus is that while it is linear. And there are things you gotta do actually progress in the game. Storyline wise in beat it. You can go to all these Johnson's who give you the runner jobs to do in so fear radically the game can never end because you just. This played over the you'd never end the game. Because there's always new things for you to do. Sure things will start repeating. But you can always do something other than progressive story. And if you can do. Side quests, you're gonna always exact exactly. And if you can just perpetuate that in the universe is expansive as GTA. That could be insanely fun. And then you can take that online in do runs a team. I was just thinking do. Yep. Yeah. As opposed to Emma, one PG clicking type thing let it play like an actual console game would play with a controller. Okay. Now, did you have another one? It was at it. No that that was it. Now, I'm gonna treat them right, right? Like go. Get a gofundme. We started like please make this. Yeah. Like in just like GTA, not like sky. Remember anything first person third person GTE but shadow run. That's what I wanna see. Okay. So the first one I'm going to do I got three try to be quick the first one, I got is bloody. Roar. Now with that one. Think streetfighter, but you could turn into animals, okay? Like Anamour spokes kinda sorta. Yeah. Each character had like an animal spirit or whatever to transform into. And like there was a girl named Alice, and she turned into a giant bunny, and you in all your fighting styles where like based off of that animals like movement like she would like bouncing kick and shit like that. And like you Witter ears. Hey, there was one guy who's my favorite character to play as he was Baca rue the mole and he had like big mole clause and shit. He can burrow into the ground and like stab you with them. And listen even this game, bloody roar, white warlike router figured of. And what what platform is it on PlayStation, PlayStation, two shit like that. Okay. I think the only ended up coming up like four games, maybe like six if you like to spin off games or whatever. But I me and my cousin Anthony used to play the fucking shit out of blood say kinda sounds legit. I'm like hard core. And like the combos in that game. And the transformations and shit were awesome. I feel like all they would have to do is make that game. But make it like dragon ballsy like tin Chi. I think is how you would sit to where you kind of had a giant like battleground where you could fly and move around and go through. Different objects. Wanted to be just like. Confined to a small little fighting arena. I'd want it to be. You know, certainly open world, but like a big area to fighting. Okay. And you almost like king of the monsters like a big like a big. Yes. Yes. Yes. Exactly. Like that. Yes. All right. So that's my first one bloody roar, please do that. That would be awesome. Another one. Actually, I think bloody Ruhr is owned by. It was a Hudson soft property too. I think NAMI owns now. So they'd be in the same boat as the adventure island series in. We can get both them bitches. Go funded me started like, please make these. I'm going to save my best one for last second one is sonic. I now I kind of talked about being wa with this. He he was already like against he's fucked sonic. I'm done with Johnny. But hear me out. Okay. If you can find a new way to use speed. I think that that game mechanic any of itself would make for a good game because traditionally sonic, you know, that's his thing. He runs fast. Right. I feel like if they could make it to where you had to kind of build up speed to like do attacks like say, you had a boss fight and say, you have just like a small little dash attack that you can use that will be cool to or maybe you have to run around the boss, and like build up speed attack or just have different levels to where you have to build up enough speed to where 'cause you know in games, it's this running gag that sonnet can't swim and drowns and shit Ray as you can have. A running gag of. Have a level where you had to traverse water as sonic, but you had to build up enough speech where you could run on top of the water, and then have enemies trying to attack you when shit like that make it, you know, more and unecessarily completely open world, but have the levels have elevations tomb. So you had to like jump up and go up in the round things if you can design a good level for speed and make the speed work in a different way to win. We're not used to think that that could work plus treat him like Morio. Yeah. Give him upgrades perks and shoot. So instead of picking up of a flower gives you fire like, let's say you pick up something that turns you into metal. And then you can just run through any object in level, or you know, you pick up something that turns you into water and shit, and you can like I don't like disapper it and come back together, some cool. The medal things already been done true in pacman world true. But make it sonic though, thought that'd be pretty cool though. Like an employed him to pick up armor pickup like a something. He can ride it plus two. You can get what's his name Jalil, white, invoice. The nineties cartoons. And then you gotta game right there. Oh, no, the one the whole reason I wanted to talk about this was just so I could talk about this particular game remake Batman the video game the nineteen eighty nine movie Batman video game. Now, not the one that came out on any ES that one's good. But the one that came out on Genesis you could fly that play. Oh, and you could drive to batmobile shit that game was dope shit. I have Lee make that I have that game. Could be okay here me up. All you have to do is just take that make the Arkham Batman games just set it in the timber universe. You'd have your Jack Nicholson joker. Your Michael Keaton. As Bruce Wayne Alfred golfer. I think the guy's name is the guy who played Alfred or whatever I don't know what the fucking actor's name was he's dead now, which is uses lightness. It's all CG. Anyway, just they could use his voice. Get Michelle Pfeiffer, his cat woman. Danny Vito back is paying win. And then you could do the shit that they never got to do in the movies like Billy Dee Williams to face. Like he's supposed to be RV day. Any original Bamiyan like just make the Arkham Batman games with all the combo fighting the gadgets, the Ridler quest all that shit. But just put it in the timber in universe. You have a game making completely open world don't have pretty much make GTA as the Arkham game in the timber universe. And then get Michael Keaton to beat voice of Batman. And you have a game would buy that game. Preorder people would eat that shit up. You have no idea because I mean, you're playing on a bunch of different things. One. Everybody likes Batman Arkham games. He's played those like those games and everybody likes Batman. And you get the nostalgia factor of bringing back the eighty nine. Tim Burton feel in everybody for the most part who was in those movies. It's still alive. You can probably get Jack nNcholas. You'd have to back up dump truck full of. Would you could probably get Nicholson to come back and voice the joker. You can get Keaton to do it. I know he'd do it. Why not Michelle Pfeiffer and shit like that like you could do all that shit and just make that into like a series of games? You can have the original eighty nine movie Batman returns. And then start doing the sequels that never was because you know, timber in them left and didn't do the right, right? But yeah, you have me sold make the eighty nine Batman Batman the video game do that. Which by the way, you have to come over and show me how to get past the first level. Oh god. I ain't played a game. It's a law relearn it, but you can't get past the I've beat hard punching. You put a lot of people in the face the first four that you punch in the face. I can't. I got you on that note. I gotta say shadow boy junkyard underscore. Dave. He is actually a nineteen eighty nine Batman for the ESPN. Ron. He's good. He's really good that he placed game fast. Beats a quickly. Oh, I can do that with Mario. Oh, look at you. Oh, really? Okay. Super Mario land. So that I don't get jumped again I have played through that game and Ken beat it in about five hours. I don't know. My best record is. I wanna say I don't know what that ranks as time. But hey, five holiday. Like from starting from nothing getting all the secrets all of the. Oh, Storrow that's like one hundred percent all the way from the beginning to bows IRS castle wave star road, which what we talking about super. Mario land for the S N E S refer what I'm kind of cut out the Super Mario SNES. That's Super Mario world with the star roads. Whatever you're waiting you sit in five hours girl Mel you own that Cartwright. Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna show you how to play that game. I don't I don't think that five is my best. But I know that I can beat it in five. I think that I can probably do it in less than five. Oh, we we need to raise this for charity fun. That'd be fun stream it, okay? I can casual ninety six and a half that see I've never been a speed anything anything because I'm. If you could see your way, I play video games, especially about like, you game milk that shit like I could probably be spider may like two weeks ago. And I've just been like, I'm I'm just swinging around doing me take himself. He's in front of the statue of liberty should us. How row you can't actually go out to the water to go to but still that would be cool. If you could though it would be, but it's one of those things it's like sonic, like the act like Spiderman can't swim. So he gets into water. And it's like, oh, he doesn't die. But he just like kind of dog paddles. And it's just like, okay. They don't they don't want you to go that far, I guess, whatever. Anyway, that's beyond the point in any any other last minute. Like honorable mention games off the top of your head that you want to throw out there before we go. All the top of my head. No. But the second my head hits the. Yeah. I know. I'm like, I'm like every time we do one of these things we always end up thinking of stuff after the fact, I do have one that was kind of like a it was a tossup between this one and the Kirby game elad echo the dolphin game. Yes. Actually, no going to lad doing the lead in the video game. Because we haven't really seen in the lead in video game to my knowledge nuts since the one that was on the Genesis. And I actually enjoy the one on the Genesis king. Video game is relying on the Genesis. Also, I have both of those in play them for wittingly stampede level. Couple of just popped in my head one may already be in the works for has been made in I'm unaware of it the other one probably not pitfall. I wanna see okay with activision game pit Paul from the original and television because they had a sixteen bit fit fall remake with like pitfall, Harry, son. I can't remember his name. Also wanna see Disney owns Lucas arts now, but I wanna see maniac mansion. Okay. Okay. Get on. All right on a modern console. Came to my head to delight good idea. So honorable mentions their hit full maniac mountain in lead. Meaning I'm sorry. That's actually it was actually a really fun game. Where it's it's one of those games in this league. It's on PC came on the and ES too. But the fun part about that game. But you can actually screw yourself over to where you can't win. Maybe that's not fun. If you end up, right? Maybe not necessary. Oh, yeah. But all right. No. This was this was really fun. What are these days? We'll we'll do this again. And we'll pick some different games. Like, yeah. Maybe maybe we can we can shoot it out to the listeners and be like, hey, you like give us some ideas for video game you'd like to see remade. And why we'll talk about it. This was this was fun. I had fun with this. But seriously who's ever listening? The powers that be somewhere. Make that Batman the video game. Please we'll give you all fucking money. Please. Yes. Yes. But all right. Very kitty. We are. Of daredevil season three where you looking like that kitties. Yeah. Pretty much. Yeah. I kids on the show constantly if you guys can't tell special guest here with me, my girlfriend, amber, she's going to join me to do this review. We finished season three of daredevil on net flicks. But a week or a week ago. Yeah. Yeah. And so we wanted to give our thoughts on because we've followed all the shows up until this point the only things we haven't seen is the second season of iron fist. Yeah. Not a real rushed watch. It was should the ships cancelled now. So it's like, well, hey, if we're going to watch it at all we need to relatively soon before it's gone forever. But we watched the first season of daredevil, and we really enjoyed that. We went into the other series on a high with just cajones, and Luke cage and. The second season. So so let's before we get into season three. Let's just talk about real quick how he felt about the first seasons of daredevil. We really liked the first one the first season was kind of like, I think everybody's favorites of all the marvel. Netflix shows is the first season daredevil because it kinda was like catching lightning in a bottle. Like it came on a nowhere. And it was a nice balance from the more. I don't wanna say family friendly stuff in the emcee, but lighter they did a lot of stuff that you probably wouldn't see in a marvel movie. Yes. Yes. Yes. I would definitely agree with that. Like. Not more gory. But all gory too. But what he for sure? And they do a lot of stuff that you don't really think they would do. Yeah. There's a lot of morally reprehensible stuff that they do on the show that you wouldn't probably get an AMC movie, which was nice, which you know, you have this long form storytelling, and you can sit down with these characters and actually go through. A long story with them and kind of see like the characters evolve and change and do things that are morally, maybe not the greatest especially with MAC. Yeah. He'll Matt kind of walks that fine line between good and evil. You know, he's the devil of hell's kitchen, but he's a devout Catholic and shit. So it's like he has you know, he's living to world's like metaphorically and literally with him being vigilante and a lawyer they even talked about it this season. Yeah. He struggles or straddles that line and being a lawyer and kind of break in the laws the daredevils xactly which the first season it was about trying to strike a balance between these two things and his rivalry with Wilson Fisk, which king kingpin is the. He is the driving force behind this show, and it really shows because once he's not really a big part of season two debts. Everybody's least favorite part now. Frank castle will come in the punisher and season two. He he helped that season a lot. But once the story line with Frank, and then the little bit of Fisk that you do get this season is over in focused fully on the hand Elektra and all that we don't like downhill, I don't think anybody really I don't think anyone loved season two. I mean, it's like the Frank part the first half a season two was really good. Then it kind of veers off into some shit. Whereas it could have been good. But I didn't. There was nobody in the whole hand storyline that I was really like into as a villain like Electra. I never really thought it was all that great of a villain. She was a good foil for Matt. But I didn't think that she could carry a whole half a season, let alone now when they go into the defenders, and she's like, the main Bagai, and I'm just like she didn't do she couldn't carry daredevil show. Why did you think she's going to carry this show? Exactly. But we really really enjoyed the first season daredevil. The second season was not so much, but it wasn't terrible. But I think this one I think season three has gone back to the roots of season one like figuratively and literally figuratively in a way like it's more grounded. And they've kind of taken all the fantastical stuff with like the unday ninjas magic. And all that shit out. Now is just about some street level thug shit. And I like that. I did like the fact that we brought back. Oh, and for those that don't know we're going to spoil the whole season. I mean, it's been Oilers. Yes, it's been out for quite a while at this point. So if you haven't seen by now, just don't listen to this. We watched Lilly you've had a a good amount of time to seen it at this point. If you were going to watch it, it's on Netflix. I mean, come on. Anyway this season. He he does not done the daredevil costume at all. No. So it's kind of reminded me a lot of season one because he's back in a little black ninja. The whole first season like when's again ago suit when you're going to get a and I did say he's going to get it like the last episode. He does. But this one I was like, so he's not gonna weird at all this year. Okay. And that that has all reason for it though. There's a story reason for it. Sure. But he never even when because there's a point where he goes to the guy who makes the costume for them. Yeah. And he's working for Fisk or like framingham or whatever like trying to get him to help him catch, Matt? And he gets locked up in there with the suit. I thought oh he'll put it on now. But he doesn't know 'cause I was thinking they wouldn't want to get caught with it. Come sure. But I thought what they were going to do do one of those things where ma- would have the true daredevil, sue and then bowls. I would have some kind of tweaked version of it in like make it his own names. Not bulls eye Poindexter, you can't call them that because it's not as name in the show. Oh. That is it is. But they don't reference that sure they're not just gonna outright call. You've got to be like me who don't know anything about the comics and just go with what you know. Exactly. I don't have to be that Ben. Poindexter Ben Affleck is no no he he had his chance. But I did like that. They kinda rerouted him back in a more grounded state, and they make references to things that happened in defenders and stuff like that. But they don't spend too much time on it which I liked because I was like, okay. We've we're done with that. Like, no more lecture shit because in the beginning. He was all electric. Oh, please. Don't go back down this shit like over electorate this point. How it is far as the characters. How did you feel about our main characters this time around like Matt foggy Karen, the newspaper editor I feel like it started off really slow because the first couple of episodes were kind of slow sure. But once you. Get in a little deeper. You start see them row. I guess more into episodes. No because they're kind of like at the beginning fogging. Karen? They don't know they think Mets gone. So they're kind of like all solemn and sulky. Well, foggy things Matt's even up on him. Yeah. Thinks he's dead. Fuck them. They massed dead. Locker we go foggy also out there doing foggy. So he said he got to Hogarth money. No. He he doing fog a real quick. Can we talk about how fly foggy was good party? He had a haircut in those suits. Long coat. Wow. Yeah. You could tell we don't we're gonna office by you know, like the business people wear. To protect his suit. He had his his low new haircut and shit. He was looking fly. I was like okay work at the big time. Law firm got his girlfriend Hogarth infringe moaning. Doing me. So he he I think of all the the supporting characters had the best arc. Yeah. Really all the characters outside of Matt. It may be Ray care and did a lot this season to we're going to talk about here. I want. I wanna I wanted to to just just in general. I I think that almost even more so than I really enjoyed foggies character because foggy has never really had much to do any season. He's always been there for like moral support any motions support. But he's never puppy dog pretty much, you know, and I always feel bad for him. Because I'm like, you know, he he's that best friend supporting character. But he never really got agency to do anything. They always gave Karen shit to do even in the first season. I mean, she kills Wesley will some bullshit anyway, Wesley was like my favorite character in season one. And then when I I didn't literally cry but I was mad. Killed with Wesley. Was like me could've killed here. And I wouldn't even been. But no, they've always given care something to do. They've always made it a point to give her something to do foggy. He he was always a character. That was like, you know, they need to give him more in. They've been building to it. And they Finally I think hit a good stride with him this year. As far as. As far as Matt story goes, I really liked that we got to delve more into his past and his struggling with his face. I I liked all that stuff in about him kind of given up, you know, his belief and not that he doesn't believe in God anymore is struggling right where he didn't become an atheist is just a he's given up on believing. Ned God helps people and does good things and stuff like that. And he's he's lost faith. And you you see him struggling with that and father is in Lincoln or laying them late in if other Layton. Yeah, I was already said lengthen, but whatever on the the priest that he talks to and all this season's he he's really trying to help get back on this fee and come back to to God in and get back into church and stuff, and that's not really trying to hear. None of it. And I liked all that stuff. I like the stuff with. The non that you find out later is Matt's mother and. Just how she was kinda give him net tough love shit. You know what? I mean, you're Maggie sister, Maggie a- and. Because I have never really read a lot of daredevil comics. So there's a lot of stuff that I'm kinda passing familiar with with his story line. But not a hundred percent like no his lower to where I knew like, okay. This is the because I know that a lot of this season was kind of based on the born again storyline in the comics. I don't know a whole lot about that. Besides I just know that Fisk is doing his damnedest to just destroy daredevil Matt's light. Yeah. But I did I did like to see him kind of fall away from the church and go give into his more darker urges and shit like that. I mean, he does a lot of reprehensible shit throughout like, okay, like us. I mean from him stealing foggy. He stole his wallet. Matt went to go. See foggy to get his help. Yeah. Well, yeah. He was alive. The Steelers gave him a hug and stole his wallet in is bar card. Yep. Yes. So he can sneak into prison and impersonate foggy so we could talk to this prisoner because other than most people think that daredevil is dead. I it was always confused though. Was it supposed to be the people thought Matt was dead to? I don't know. I didn't really get how that was working out. But. Besides that. He he does a lot of shady shit throughout this season. I like that to see him struggle with that. I liked on his mother's character. I thought she was a good addition to the show, I still love the relationship. He has with the priest. Had with the pre. Because fortunately, he does get killed towards the later part of the season. Karen, though. Okay. Karen? I had issues with all the characters. I felt like they served a purpose time, especially foggy. But just fuck caring like, Karen. Al- ever since season one. They've been alluding to her past and like how she was troubled, and she was on drugs and any other and in this one they finally reveal what her issue was basically, basically her own episode. Yeah, I was really frustrated at because I'm just what is happening. I liked it. It was fine. But I felt like it could have been convinced. I don't feel like we we needed to spend almost an entire episode flushing out caring pages long. They could that could have been like the first ten minutes or so, and then we moved on for the episodes are about an hour law. And we spent the better part of that our on her flats thirty five minutes. I believe. Yeah. And I'm like guys come on. Let's get to shoot. What are we doing here? I. I don't. Always had issues with Cairns character because she always kind of dies dumb shit throughout the show think. Yeah. And she never really gets called on it. She's always like, oh, well, at least I was trying to this any other. It's like, yeah. But you do some silly shit. But she does get reprimanded this season. True. And I do like how foggy called her on it. You know? And Matt does as well. Not so much mad though because he kind of like understand she got fired too. Sure, he's doing some stupid too. So he's more standing, but foggy calls her out when she goes to Fisk and is trying to get a goad him into a TAC air. He's like what the fuck are you doing lately late in tag is Ingham? What did you think you were going to achieve while I wanted to get him to attack it? It's like what did they have be? I didn't get here into at that point. They don't know that Fisk is pretty much running the whole. Yeah. FBI at that point. But I'm like, they probably would have just let him kill you right there and nothing would've came. Anyway, you came or not. Here is like who care. What? Oh weird. She says he was coming to this whole town. We don't know about no hit on her. Right. But I didn't I didn't like I didn't like Karen throughout the other seasons. And in this one when they finally do give her back story about how she was on drugs and kinda like dropping out of college, and she was troubled, and then her her brother gets killed in a car accident is caused by her which was kind of his fault as it was hers was both our fault because. Okay. So she's like Dayton, his drug dealer and her brother wants to go back to college. And she doesn't wanna go back. She runs off and shit. You know with the drug dealer boyfriend. And so her brother's like oh in order to get you to not be with him. No, more and go to school. I'm going to go to his trailer in burn it down. And then the drug dealer boyfriend beats the shit outta him with a tire iron. And granted she was already pretty messed up at this point. They have been getting highest shit. Yeah. Doing a bunch of drugs, and it was a bad situation. Yes. And she. She takes. She takes. Him. No, she I'm sorry. She takes jerk dealer. Boyfriends gun shoots him and takes off with her brother in an egg into a wreck. And you know, he dies because of and because the sheer from town has pity for the family, the he lets her get off and go and says that the brother was driving himself. So they basically frame it to look like the brother just had a car accident died and killed him so accident and then her dad was so upset he's like you need to leave. Yeah. You gotta go. You gotta leave. And I was just like, yes. Fuck her. Like that is I'm like again, you did something that granted you couldn't control what your brother did. But you are responsible for the accident for him dying in for you being high off your and taking driving with him like she should never got in the car and drove right? She should've just let him drive or something. I don't know either way the fact that they went out today way to get her out of truck. Bothered me a lot like that at all. So that day that rubbed me the wrong way. And then just what she does to route the this season outside of that about being stupid confronting Fisk. And you know chasing these stories down and everybody keep telling her, you know, stay away from this shit. Don't get involved with this shit. And she's like, oh, it's okay. I killed Wesley. Fuck out of here. Fuck you admits it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Flats says, which I don't know how she didn't nothing came at because they had doing that. What about as far as the stakes? I think that the stakes are much higher this season. And I it feels like they're real consequences to things to happen in the show this time because in the other seasons, especially season two yet things happen to people. But it always felt like they were always going to be okay. And they were always going to make it through this season. It gets so dark, and there's so many like double crosses and reveals how how much power Wilson Fisk has that. It's like by the time, they wrap it up at the end, it was satisfying. But I was really concerned. I'm like, I don't see how we're going to get out of this shit. I'm like he had because there comes a point where they finally get Raina deem to agree to testify against Wilson, Fisk and reveal oughta shit that happened with him and all that. And he does in the jury that they have four it. They get tainted because one of the jurors gets threatening. He's telling them all their names and addresses, and should you know, letting them know like, hey, if you go with this shit, you know, kingpins going to kill you. And so they throw it out a court, and I'm just like you can't win. No. You got the FBI like chief of police, the the judges the jury controls everyone oughta shouldn't is pocket. It was like how are you going to beat him which still makes me kinda raised eyebrow to the ending because I'm like, I really was thinking that they were gonna have bullseye kill the kingpin. Because I'm like, I don't see a scenario where he's not going to get back out. Again. He literally bought the prison that he was in. He bought the hotel that they put him in house arrest all when they took him out of prison. So it was like an control. Well, what do you do at this point? So that was that was one thing. I did like, but it kind of made me, raise eyebrows. Like, I don't. Leave this with a wind down the way it did because there were real consequences, and there were real stakes. And I mean, hell, you know, there's multiple occasions where I thought that Matt's identity was going to be revealed to everybody. I think that's the one thing about it that I really didn't like is that he never does get his identity revealed 'cause I don't like the fact that he can still go back to his regular life again by the end of this. Oh, we're going to start up new law for you know, it's it's Murdoch Nelson page, and I'm like. I don't feel like he should be able to keep being met. No more. I'm like you got to be daredevil full-time. Now at this point. Like, you can't go back to be mad. No more. He's on try. I guess, but what about you like, how did you feel about just the consequences to things that happened in collect the double crosses and all that stuff to see? There should have like you said a lot more because Fisk just got out of so much because he did control had his fingers in so many pots, and it's like nothing came of it. And now he's just going off to jail by really don't think him and Vanessa are going to be there, very long. Well, remember today were the deal was is that he would not prosecute Vanessa for killing or ordering to kill Ray. Yeah. If agreed to stay in prison, but I'm like, that's not really a good solutions. I think Vanessa just going to take his place. We talked about that a lot because Vanessa her. Character has a good arc through this. Everybody had a character arc. Because she goes from kind of being the the woman who kind of complicit in the kingpin's wrongdoing along with right to actually being involved directly and making calls herself. Like, it's kinda revealed as she just as evil as he is. Outcast. It kind of. She doesn't show it off. Sure. Right. Right. Speed very to or self. Yeah. But, but she this was her first tune in to really like dabble in shit like she's kinda always known, but she was never liked directly apart of it until now and I liked that they did that. And we kind of Iraq is that she would be the new kingpin. Yeah. If we get a season for you know, that she would be kind of the catalyst to start everything up again, which I would like to see that. Because I think that as long as they do this show. To some level or another kingpin is always going to have to be the main villain. I feel you can bring in other characters and things like that. But Wilson Fisk has to be the driving force behind. Yeah. I believe so too. Is far as the dynamic between Fisk, and Matt I think that that is the bread and butter the bread and butter of the series in general, but especially of this season, and it doesn't just appoint you don't get to see a lot of interactions between them throughout the season because they don't come face to face all like that. But when they finally do that final confrontation they have at the end. What he's like beating shy might kill him. I was I was waiting for it. I knew something would intervene stop them. Because. Yelled Innis phase. He's like this city beach. You Bates you like. Wow. Kinda remind me of all those times Fisk told bendy like just yell and scream. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And matches screaming and his face. It was it was an interesting dynamic that they had with. Yeah. Poindexter and Fisk as well, this kind of father son thing that I had going is they kind of shared kind of dark secret almost they both killed somebody a child. So dear was that. That was one of the other things too. That wants to talk about as well that. Bullseye is a good villain. He feels very flushed out, but this season still feels a little bit too long to me because there are multiple episodes that kind of drag and there's a little bit too much backstory for certain characters like the whole thing with Karen I felt like they could chore net bay, and they do the same thing with bullseyes character with Ben Poindexter day spend pretty much a whole episode doing flashbacks about him as a kid and him being psychopath has just shown the fact that he killed his baseball coach. And after that like, no no showed. I think that all they needed. All we would have needed to got an audience formation. We needed to and still understood where he was coming from was the scene the scenes that they had would him his psychiatrist. Yeah. Because they talked about him killing baseball actually need to see what I'm saying. I'm like I feel like they could have just had the interactions between them. To him. Listen to the tapes, and that would have been enough because we go back to it again, and again, and again anyway traipse, so I was like did you really need to show us all the other ship to flashbacks when Fisk is renewed a files, and he's like seeing everything and his apartment and audit. And I'm like y'all could cut audits out and we didn't eat. That could have been more time we could have been spending with I don't know that the main character of the show I like that they did flesh out the villain. But I think that we spent too much time with him because there was I think that there was an intention to try and make us feel bad for Ben sure like he's crazy Fisk is taken advantage of. But I never felt bad for this is just crazy. No, I didn't feel bad either. Especially with how OCD he was and everything so. You know, what that's not why don't feel bad for them. But he was crazy. Yes. Very much. So I agree. And there's nothing wrong with being OCD or anything. But he was just really. Yeah. Whole 'nother level he was he was he was very of cessive about perfection and being the best at everything and so much so to where he would he would lash out violently if he couldn't be the best at everything, and he had a lot of abandonment issues and. Yeah. He has he has all kinds of issues. But I did I did like him as villain. But like I said I just felt like they they spent too much time explaining how he got to be the way he is. But I did like to dynamically between him and fish. I like the dynamic between him and Matt as well like that whole. Confrontation at they have when he first shows up in Matt's costume as daredevil at the newspaper. Yeah. All that stuff was really good. Just not not only the fight scenes between number just two conversations. They had when Matt reveals kingpin had killed the girl that Ben had been stocking up until. Yeah. All that stuff was really good. What did you feel about Vanessa herself this season though? They feel like they kinda rushed her character because she wasn't in. Yes. Any episodes till the end, didn't you think it was weird today? Should she doesn't show up until I leave and said it like when she on the show up. Yeah. Because they kept talking about her and only I don't think we're ever going to actually see her. And I'm like part of me thinks she was running because they say like oh Fisk wanted her out of the country. So she could be protected, but they kind of kept making excuses for her not to come back. Exactly. So I feel like she was kinda running because she no want to she doesn't like this part of Fisk. Then you see your at the end, and she's like kill him pretty much, but they kind of rushed her like kind of growth. I guess. Yeah. No. I agree because I feel like I'm you spent in that goes to kind of point of we're spending time with Karen, and Ben and stuff like that. You could have brought up Vanessa back and kinda show where she had been doing this whole time. She's in kinda. Developing getting her to the place that she gets to by the end because there's like she never came off is straight up evil season. But this time by the time, we meet her at first, it seems like she's not happy that exactly what it felt like you know, when when she comes back. But then it's revealed she's not happy because she can't do evil shit too. And he's like hiding the business from where she's like I want to be involved. And I'm like where did that come? Yeah. All right. But yeah. Is far as I don't know. Like all the stories stuff. I really enjoyed the fight scenes. I did like this season. I think that they were more brutal. I liked the hallway about there's always a hallway hall. We see. That's what's so funny, though is because that's kind of bled into all this shows or just cajones is the only one that hasn't. There's always a hallway fight there's one in Luke as when the iron this so defenders just Jones the only show that hasn't had one. So she's no action to her show. Anyway, she's I'm too drunk to beat them. All right. I did feel like the fight choreography was really good this season. The fight felt a little bit sloppier dyke. They weren't as like man was and yeah, but but they were a lot more brutal though, like dead throughout the whole season. You said he just continued to believe. I said they'd like a few in. I feel like he's just perpetually bleeding. Just every episode every time you see me, he's bleeding from some part of his body every time he's on camera. Because after the he gets recovered from the explosion from the defenders, you know, his his series fucked up. So his senses like his powers aren't working correctly. And he tries to use. What does that thing that you said you put your nose? Oh, the Netti pot. Use the Nettie pie, and he costs out so much. Oh, fuck and just there's multiple times where he's just just dripping head to toe, which is blood. He never fully recovers. No. After that prison fight. He was just off. I'm shocked. He made out of the prison. Yes. Yes. And then immediately drive them off a cliff into trying to kill them. Oh, jesus. Break. But I I like that though I liked how they were stacking all the odds against him and making it difficult for him to succeed. That's why I cared so much about what happened with home yet. So much shit to get past. I don't see how you can win. I'm like in any other instance, I could always see how you could get through this and make it work. But this time I was like I don't see a good ending from. Nobody. All in all I felt like the Fandel finale felt right? And it was a satisfying conclusion, I enjoyed how it ended. But I didn't quite by that this is gonna stick. Yeah. That's that's my one thing. I'm just like I just don't see Fisk not getting back out again. Like, if they don't cancel your devil, which I hope they don't if we get a season for. Come. What are they do to cancel all the net? Flicks. Marvel shows it was only to les Jones in daredevil. They cancelled Luke cage located physique hire a weekly or they cancelled Luke cage. They announced the cancellation of Luke cage the day that daredevil premiered Loesch shoe. Yes. So we still going strong. Yes. Okay. I'll forget about that. I like him punisher daredevil and just cajones. Only shows that we still know are keeping keeping going Balu Caja physical. Probably not the defenders. Oh, hell, no. No. They're not definitely not going back to Schick people didn't like that. When they came out. They named trotting really like it. It could have been it wasn't bad. It could have been better. I just think today they fucked up because I thought Sigourney Weaver was a good villain. I just think that they shouldn't have went back to the hand. They should have did something different because much hand. Exactly. Exactly. But with this. I did like how ended I don't buy that this is going to last very long if we have a season for you're going to have a lot of work to make me believe that Wilson stay in prison for anything more than our free. Hasim bought the prison yet. Right. Anyone off somebody killed some crazy shit because I'm just like I'm not buying it. But I am curious as to how the next season is going to be if there is one because. They try to make it seem like mass going go back to his normal life and shit. But I'm like, I I don't see how you can after this. No. I also don't see. Like, they tease at the end that because Ben gets paralyzed by the kingpin three way fight between him and Matt and. He they're doing some kind of surgery to bring him back. And at the end, he like opens his eyes. He the bulls eye target is Iowa's that was like the corneas Parham. God didn't have to do that. Because it showed him having his eyes because you didn't need to show. The bulls eye and his is like you didn't need to do that. We know who to characters you didn't need to do that extra shit. But I don't I don't wanna see him come back like he's a good villain. But unless like, I think you told everything you can tell plus wanna hear that be buzzing shindigs head anymore. He had some kind of dated some effect for him. Where like whenever he was like freaking out. It was like Disney. I use easy like buzzing noise in his head. And I'm like, I don't I didn't care for that. I don't necessarily want to see him come back. I I would love it if they made kingpin the villain again. I season four. But I think they're going to have to introduce some other villains some smaller ones as well. And he still be like behind doing his thing. I don't know. I. Could have done a lot more with season four volume just spend the DA pretty much. I'm kind of disappointed if all you doesn't become the because I think that could have been a good dynamic change with him and mad. He's a district. Attorney defense attorney. So I think that could have been something could have been because then you're kinda clash against back in been fun. But they didn't they didn't go that way in the end. I don't know. I. I hope that we get another season. I know I don't have any reason to believe we won't besides the cancellations they've done so far. But I think daredevil if nothing else that'll be the one that lasts longest probably, but I'm just curious as to what story they're going to decide to tell this time around in what they're gonna do with Matt. And how are they going to make us feel like there's something as steak now? Because like I said they went so hard this season. I don't know how you top that like it'll be hard. But I mean, I I've always liked how the guy who plays. Matt comes across as a character. He's always endearing and I always like him and always wanna see him win. Even when he's doing some shady shit. I'm always like man, he don't he don't get it together. You know, he get back on track. I just know it as far as our rating system goes, what would you say? Where would you place daredevil? I okay. What would you rate the first season daredevil? Probably really fucking light. Okay. Season two. I really didn't like it. Now, you just didn't like he did really fucking. It wasn't the worst thing on the planet. Okay. Well, I guess hated it or really fucking aided. It. It was like a man okay somewhere between men hated. Yeah. That's that's fair. And I could sit there and watch it on my phone season three. It's kinda straddle on that line between liked it and really fucking liked it. Okay. I think I'm about where you are. Definitely season one really fucking liked it season two geeks. Kind of. And season three. I'm just gonna say a firm liked it. Because it never quite got to where I was just like this is the best thing ever. Like it did in the first I had a few those moments. Like, I said the ending really did it for me and a couple other parts in the middle of the season. I really enjoyed. But there was one too many lulls where I was like, okay. Guys wrap this shit up on pretty sure you slept through the whole care enough. So no 'cause I was like ended out if I was just I don't care. I don't give a shit. And then when they finally, you know, wrap it up with the big climax. And I'm just like, oh, so y'all just to make me not like her. I see what you're. I would definitely recommend.
