"Jack. Thanks very much. Armstrong advisory groups New Guide for this month is our research magazine estimates that upwards of 40 trillion You heard that number right will pass from baby boomers to future generations over the next three decades. Mike Armstrong from the Armstrong Advisory group joins me now, Mike, what? What should families be thinking about when it comes to the eventual passing of this wealth? Yeah, I think there's a lot to go through. But I think by far the most important is just If I'm going to be passing along wealth to my kids, and I don't think it matters if it's you know, $500 or $500,000, but it's going to be passing along this well, give it some thought in terms of Is the person that I want to pass it to ableto handle it. Ah, too young. Do they have different issues going on? What is the best way for them to receive this money? And you know something Go wrong if if they do received, I was speaking with someone the other day. Uh, unfortunately, a family member had a drug habit. And certainly yet that person you don't want inheriting a lot of money directly, so giving thought to how to pass money along when should do it, Who to include. I think it is by far the most important decision point that needs to be made. What about the estate tax what people have to be aware of? Yeah. So the state taxes you know, I think one that probably gets even more negative publicity's than Ah, that it deserves. Because in a lot of places, people won't end up paying an estate tax. But here in the Northeast, you know most Northeast states do in fact, have an estate tax in Rhode Island, Massachusetts. Pretty much everywhere. But near camp, sir. There is both the federal estate tax as well as the state estate tax, and it's complicated in terms of a formula, but you should be where that it exists. That if you end up living here until the day you die and own a certain dollars of assets, you end up your your heirs will end up paying it. You should also be aware that there are some steps that states that estate plans can use to mitigate and in some cases eliminate that estate tax, so I think, just ignoring it in assuming that it must be paid. No matter what my financial situation isn't quite the case, you should speak to somebody about it about recent tax law changes When it comes to charitable donations, anything we should need to know. Well, yeah, I mean, they really changed how it all works. So if you go make a donation these days, you won't necessarily get to take it on your taxes, Which isn't the reason to do one. But it was certainly a nice benefit. And so you can look at things like qualified charitable distributions that the distribution of your IRA There's a lot of really stretch guidelines there. Or a lot of people look at, you know, bunching it all together into one year, say I used to make a donation every year. Well, I am going to make it now. Every three years. There's a There's a lot of tactics that are getting used now account Cheryl Distributions. Um, here we go through this and a lot Maurine. This guy, obviously it's really just Few different steps that people can take that we talked about, but Really This whole God is about multi generational planning and the items to be thinking about if you are likely going to be passing on wealth to the next generation, and as much as we all would love to do spend it. Like you mentioned $40 trillion passing between generations. So if you would like a copy of the guy, they could go to our website armstrong advisory dot com. We've got a month the guys button right there, or they can call our office on that stone numbers 800. 393 for 001. Okay. Mike Monk are strong from the Armstrong advisory group. Thanks for joining me. "Another episode of the working experience. I have the pleasure today of talking with Omit Kapoor. We're going to discuss his latest article called. GDP is not a measure of human wellbeing. A met It's a pleasure to have you on the podcast if you could introduce yourself to our listeners and give give us a brief bio of Thanks for this opportunity and getting me on the podcast vay quickly and played. I chair for competitiveness in India an affiliate faculty for the Mike Monks of the competitiveness. Course for strategy and competitiveness. And I what do you call it up editor magazine scene call tinkerers. Emily Sibley with Amish to export competitiveness writing the roadmap for competitiveness roadmap for the country and then of course Working on issues of ease of being in social progress excellent. And how long have you been in that position. Oh so I've been much care for competitive since two thousand and six. I still have been running the better business in India for the last thirteen years as chair. And that's what it is so I have given the direction of what the institute needs to focus on and the primary focus has actually been in the area of economic dominic geography. So the idea was really understand. How John Matters for competitiveness how we can actually make the country more competitive more productive? And Holly Daily needs to take place swamps. Excellent okay. So let's dive into the article which we've myself and my co host Matt had discussed on a previous. Here's podcasts and we found fascinating so if you can give our listeners a brief overview and kind of like the idea and concept behind GDP not being a measure of human wellbeing and who is the intended audience what what message judge is. Was this a message intended for the Indian population the world as a whole. If you could just comment on that. So I'll start with the last question. I have the very focus of this article. Predominantly believe that this article is focusing towards the policy. Makers goes and policymakers across the way it is. This is a debate which we need to have crossed. The border does a debate in understanding as to what GDP measures. I is it the right measure that we're really looking. We have really moved forward in the world. Lost three hundred hundred years since the whole debate started happening indistinctly seen hundreds or measurement of output for an economy started happening in sixteen hundred. But I think we right now at this stage the way the world is actually going. We have the school huge driza populist leaders and takes if you really look at this thing as too lightly populist leader that actually happening across the world is it an economic outcome or is it something else so this this is where the genesis of the species in Dumbo of understanding. What is making this one goes out one of the challenges? That we're facing and wireless challenge is actually happening in today. The date is it just about income inequality or is it about something else as well. So what we are really seeing is that that is a huge level of disparity that is actually happening in the world but at the end of the day is also what quality of life people at disenchanted for the simple reason that they are not really getting what they ought to get. So this is a very important may make sure that we are really trying to say or suggest that go beyond Judy. B- tried to understand what matters for people how to really make light speaker because at the end of the day it just not not about money that matters. It's actually. It's not the money that in the pocket knives because and of course if you really look at GDP per se GDP is a nice aggregate measure if you really look at it but it does not really the Aqaba does not dive deeper into understanding as to what is the disparity that exists like If you have one person listen if Bill Gates comes into the room the two of us here in beleaguered comes into the room then suddenly the GDP per capita is gonNA be in billions for all of us but that does not really give me any information as to what are the difference in income and how it actually affects me so we need to get into measures which really tell about the quality the of life and this is where the genesis is and really look at Judy. People say as a measure as well. It's an important measure but admits the lot of point point. It misses some amazing point as to what are the negative effects of things that are happening around us. If you really talk about the context in which I am living so India Economy from Judy point of view but we are missing a very important point and that is the the the pollution that we're actually seen right now. So what are the negative creative impact of pollution so if I actually have child mortality which is high. What is the back that actually happened so we need to instill a spirit of saying that? How do we really measure many broad sets of things that actually matter in the world and this is bad this whole Jerusalem the species and I hope and my hope is that as a measure we have across the board? We're able to move across two countries and Tim saying that we should measure our quality of life or ease of living or what you might call social progress. Yes they could be so many words that can actually get used. So how do we measure those things and it should become a movement across country. Judy became a movement For countries in the nineteen fifties. We need to see a similar movement right now in Denver saying how do we measure quality of life How measure ease of living for people? And that's what what it is all about. Yeah no it's it's a very big issue in concept and it's just an doesn't pertain on the message. Message is not just specific to India specific to the entire world in. I mean here in the United States. It's you know the the society. The cultural story is succeed. Make money you know you you go to school. You go to college. You get a degree you you get a job you get a well paying job you get a house a white picket fence and then A piece of paper's handed to you that you're supposed to be happy and what we're finding in society is that is not the case. You know miserable people who are multimillionaires But more money than you could conceive. And they're just they're not happy yet. Were you know the the news cycle we're tied to the stock market has the Dow gone up The jobs report. I mean all of this stuff to you know you have taken into perspective. You know someone who is on the brink of poverty. Earning one dollar a day would love to have a job making a hundred dollars a day or a job making fifty thousand dollars but in vice versa. They could be. They could be making very very subsistence living as a farmer in be extremely happy because they surround ourselves with family and they have leisure time and then you could take an investment banker here in New York who's making five million dollars who fills his devoid of his life with drugs in in whatever have you And he's miserable. So it's and the the real question is will the Policy makers take this is to heart you. You're almost trying to change a not just a cultural story here in the US but a cultural story. Maybe that we've even exported to the rest of the world that growth and success will solve. Everyone's problems oh this is a very important point here saying you know Won The world will have to change without without because if they don't change there is going to be a challenge. If you really look at the world itself your point there are two sets. The things that we're really talking about one. Is that social objectives. The other one is about economic surface so when you say economic objectives yes you need to make certain amount of money I. I need some money to actually buy my goats and so on and so forth but what about social objectives and when you see a social object. It's about what does how how. How much time does it take for me to travel from place to place B What visit that actually? What are the cultural things? How do I engage people? What does the What are you what? What can I do with with my time my my working twenty hours a day? What am I actually working eight hours a day and I actually have a great life where I'm able to spend time with family friends and so on and so forth I mean will occur experiences so if you really look at it the question is fairly big intimate saying how do I actually create experiences for myself because if I'm not able to create get experiences that means that is going to be a huge challenge in the world tomorrow off as you really look at it from this whole social perspective that are three broad awed elements from my point of view that need to be understood what those are? What are the basic needs that we need to go? You understand my fulfilling the basic needs for people that are so much jeff defense across the world very simple things like shelter water and sanitation healthcare availability or access to knowledge that are geared to a not able to go to school. Who'll in places like Africa? And how do we solve the problem the Nextel Tangiers water the elements of welfare and When you talk what El- elementary Alfred is going to be a question of whether we are talking about economic impoverishment Ebeling people to really do something they don't one what does the sustainable environment w luckily really talking about and the last but not least important factor is going to be scope of human betterment and that is really talking about things like inclusion Or things like say access to higher indication because this is very purely located inclusion become such an important element that may seem to be missing across the wooded because when you say inclusion it's it's talking about the whole idea of tolerance we are talking about. How tolerant my actually do IDs today today? What we are seeing in the world is now being in this whole movement of just trying to be politically correct being and we become tolerant to intolerance and that is where we are actually seeing some amazing sets of wrongs that are actually actually happening here? In fact I take a step back and I'll try to give an example of the United States a lot of people. I think it's a big favorite pastime of people to denigrate or ridiculed president trump. But have you ever realized look at eighty as to why president then trump was elected. We have to understand from very deeper issue and there are two big things. Now that I've actually happened within the United States and across If you really look at president. Dan Trump's election in twenty sixteen. He was elected. He was a popular leader in two thousand four hundred of the three thousand counties in the US and why was he elected elected because people who were chanted with the present that exist in the present system of this growth him. I'm GonNa work all have have higher incomes and so on and so forth but there was nothing like a healthcare that will available now they were disenchanted with the services that would actually being made available and so on and so forth so And then there are six hundred twenties..

What happened to the malt the mall I don't know but thank God it's gone. I don't know do we ever. I can't remember we ever figure out or find out the difference between a milkshake. A Malt O. with Mike monks is something to do with like like a Walker candy that those are malted milk balls. It's got a similar flavor so my parents would always I asked you guys want. We're making milkshakes and do you WanNa Malt or milk. Shake a milk shake a milkshake a milkshake but what how do they do. Malt is different additive but I think so. Komo halted a A milkshake is a Gla- blended ice cream milk and other mixtures like a malt simply a special kind of milkshake that included the addition of malted milk powder. It's like Kinda. Feel it on the back like on the top of your mouth. It's not good. They all day yeah you know. My Dad told me the difference was when I was a kid what that was my brother's Yankees to his. We saw something on TV and I'd say tie. Why do they do this so that's. Why don't they never get a bowl to eat their ice cream? They just heat it right out of the container. He's because they're Yankee so every question was answered that way but this though my dad and I don't know why was asking he didn't know anything about cooking or anything like that. I said what's the difference in a malt and a milkshake. Why don't they say Malt on TV. He's a malt has an egg in it. All right got it. I learned that back when I was running the streets with Cassius Clay in Louisville when I was growing up that's right which I found out later but my grandmother than ever being. TJ's father was prone Tall Tale. I don't WANNA say flat out lie but it was catches. Clay's Mohammed Ali's real or first name he did run the streets with cashes clay in Louisville. Just they weren't ever there at the same the same street they just weren't they were they were outside in the city and it looks like you're flavored EC grits are going away the current administration wants to do away with all flavored e CIG except for tobacco flavors and then the companies would have to ask the FDA for for approval for all flavors which is just. I'd make your own decision about that now. This is a highly disagree with trump about including putting mint and Menthol so I mean they're all going. We live in a free society or yeah. "Krisztal live at you see how training center Denver Broncos headquarters the Broncos with three new players in the fold after a busy day to in which they selected Dalton reisner the offense of lineman out of Kansas state and Wiggins high school right here in the Denver area. Forty first overall, then they traded up from fifty two to forty two God, drew lock the quarterback from Missouri. And in the third round at seventy first overall defensive lineman, Draymond Jones and interior pass rushing specialist whom head coach Vic Fangio said could see some time in the nickel this season if he's competitive, and if he earns that time guys as we look at the pick now of Dalton reisner, and we heard from drew lock we'll hear from John Elway Vic Fangio shortly. But Ryan interior offenses. The line was clearly need the Broncos had to come away with a starter out of the NFL draft with the pick of reisner. Did they -ccomplish that? They did. Yeah. They definitely did at at least right guard, and they did provide themselves and we haven't covered a ton yet. But they did provide themselves. Bit of a hedge it tackle or more specifically. Right. Tackle of John James isn't everything's crap. Dick cracked up to be. But now you're paying him to be that. So hopefully, he is otherwise that's leads us down another rabbit hole. But you've got your right guard at there is an injury potentially to one of the tackle 's you've got another guy that you could swing outside. And again, you know, maybe maybe you decide as we discussed right after the pick maybe decide to see what he can do at center. He's does that experience in combat govern was by. No means an elite center for the Broncos last year filling in. So it does provide that as well. I think they're still opportune. Unity to add either another offense lineman during the draft or you add somebody during college free agency. Don't forget Sam Jones is still here. Connor McConnell McGovern is pencilled in to the starting lineup. But but by no means for me, this move does not guarantee him a spot on that lot. Not at all. And I would watch Sam Jones in particular because they're very high on him going into his second year. Really the thought would Sam Jones when they picked him last year he came out with one year eligibility remaining he'd graduated, but he he came out because Arezzo state was going through a coaching change scheme change and felt it was time to move on. The Broncos new Sam Jones was probably going to effectively have a regular ear as a rookie and be potentially ready contribute in year two while here we are. And don't forget Ron Leary. You've got in Pennsylvania guard spot. But can you rely on him? Right. The last two seasons for him have earned on injured. Reserve the the injuries Vicky. Related. It would not all surprise me. Guys. If your interior ofensive line some point this year is comprised of Sam Jones, don't rise ner and Connor McGovern. All guys that the Broncos have added in recent drafts also part of that. Because there's just not a lot of faith in Roane Leary to stay healthy to stay on the football field because they still own some money. And that's one of the biggest reasons he's here. You know, there's the injury guarantee. But because he's here if he is healthy two years ago. There's a reason they did give him thirty two million dollars and twenty guaranteed because he played really well in Dallas. Now, he did have three all pros around him. So there's that and I pointed out when they brought him in. Then he was really good when he was healthy that just didn't last very long, and so can you get healthy again? Or at some point do they just have him. There's an insurance policy and grow some combination of those three young guys together and Elijah Wilkinson is maybe you're. Winging tear guy, and you have to probably figure out who your swing tackle is down the road unless I'm missing somebody. That isn't coming to mind right now Wilkinson has position flexibile swing. He'd be. He could essentially in at four spots. Yeah. Even calmer govern in a paint can be tackle you actually a lot of game. Right. You have a lot of guys in there that have a lot of flexibility and can move around into pinch. What was cool. I thought is engulfed riser was pretty open with about everybody. He talked with in the pre draft process. Sometimes even other teams sometimes you'll fall to fall exactly about how he really wanted to be with his hometown team the Broncos. And I thought it was cool. The John Elway shared that. They really liked him and more importantly might munch liked him as a player, and then you throw on top of it. The hometown angle on top of it. There was a mutual attraction. If you will that between the two sides. I really feel like we can't overstate the Mike munch factor. Yeah. Here in this. Steal. Now. I it's a good story as it is. We know adult reisner looks like playing offense of line of K state. But but in that Mike mum check is getting just his first opportunity to mold this offense of line in the way, he wants we all I think media fans cetera all latched onto the Dalton reisner story. And if you watch him play, you feel good about what he could bring to the Broncos as a prospect that the fact that Mike munch a hall of Famer came in here and said, no, no, I this is a guy that I absolutely could work with he's going to help out our offense of line. And you don't spend a second round pick on a guy to be a swing or to be a backup. So this is part of Mike munch putting his fingerprints on the offensive line, which is only gonna lead to and don't forget we talked with don't reisner after he met with the Broncos on orange and blue seven sixty and reisner was glowing. As he talked about. Mike monk shack and Chris Cooper, of course, the foreign Bronco guard. Now, the assistant align coach, and he he said he felt like there was a real connection there. And I thought to myself. Okay. We'll see if Mike monk check in. Chris Cooper felt the same way we learned tonight. They did feel the same way. Exactly. They sure did. And earlier tonight, we had a chance to talk to the product out of Wiggins, Colorado. So let's get to our VIP line. And welcome in one of the newest Denver Broncos offense of Lyman Dalton reisner coming home to play football right here in the greater Denver area. You got the whole orange and blue seven sixty crew Mike, Brandon Andrew and Ryan Dalton congratulations. How gratifying was it to hear your name called by the Broncos? Very gratifying. I just want to prove to them. You know, how much I'm worth and and prove them right for picking me up, and I'm just so thankful for the opportunity for them taking me at pick forty one. And it was awesome to hear my name. Let alone, you know, be called Denver Broncos for special Dalton we've talked to a few times now throughout this process. You've made it pretty clear to the point of. I I liked your point. You're talking to the media to moment ago. How you felt you actually had a tone it down a little bit at your visiting other teams. What is your explain that to me because you're in the process of meeting the other teams, you're talking about how much you love this area being from Wiggins, Colorado, I at some level you still had to be kind of true to yourself though. Right. Most definitely, and you know, I couldn't really be open to the media about my feelings. But of course, the whole time, especially after me with much Elway everyone at that facility. I felt like that was where home was and you know, I didn't know if I'd I'd get picked in the first second third fourth fifth sixth seventh where it was going to be at. But I knew that that was where home should be. That's why I wanted to go. And it's I think it's definitely got in the working that I'm coming home to Denver. What did you feel in terms of the connection that you had with Mike monk check and Chris Cooper when you had the chance to hang with them here at Broncos HQ? Kicked off line coaches and see how they appreciated my play and see what they were thinking about plugging. And put me in and seeing how they do things that Denver, Bronco just coaches. I got along with coaches that I felt like I wanted to play for understood what they were about the interest of what I was about. And that's something. That's great. You know, you don't with not all the coaches really understand what you're all about appreciates that. I just felt that connection with them and munch hack is a legendary off the line coach from Pittsburgh. Chris Cooper coach played right guard for the Broncos for eight years. I watched him play grown-up. So both of coaches, I feel like I'm gonna go to work for and don't use one of the coolest moments. And I was glad I was able to capture it at senior bowl are Steve atwater. Who obviously these guys do the show with every day. You saw on the field. You're excited meet him day before. And you said you got introduced me to Elway. Then he gets caught up doing something else. And rather than running to the team bus. You waited a couple of minutes went and found. John Elway the middle of field Justice shake his hand. But take us back through the emotion when you saw three or three pop up and John Elway's on the other end of that phone. It was it was amazing experience. Man, you know, just to be able to grow up watching a guy and and hear about how much will legend. He is. It was just remarkable to have them. Call me and tell me that they wanted me to be patient and tomorrow to walk on down their alley, and and be out there and shaking hands. It'd be part of the Denver Broncos team is going to be real to me. So a lot of emotion for sure. And then I'm just I'm extremely excited. Final few moments with new Broncos offense of Lyman Dalton reisner with us on orange and blue seven sixty Dalton. You have talked about the variety of positions. You've played on the line. Is there a place you feel you fit best? You know, I hate to answer that just because I'm gonna wear where I'm going to be Denver Broncos. But you know, I feel like anywhere on that often to learn to wherever month chat won't put me wherever you guys have a need. I want to be able to play. I see myself saying guard in the NFL, I think that will find, you know, find myself at and I know that that might be a position you guys could use help that. I I don't know. I'm saying you guys because we miss you got your place just cover them. Yeah. No doubt, man. So just trying to get that that spot where doing that? Now looking ahead when you get to the regular season. How many people in Wiggins are going to be coming down? I seventy six to Denver every Sunday to watch you play man. I sure hope a lot you guys might have to get a new part of the stadium. Just for the Wiggins fan, man. I'm extremely bad have many fans that are thrilled by phone flowing up and people are so proud of me. And you know, I'm going to have to have people at every game. You guys just gained the whole pan crew about a thousand people from Wiggins so big side. About that. They may have to you have to invest in a bunch of tickets or a couple of sweets to hold everybody. It's gonna take your whole rookie contract. Final thing. I have for you Dalton on Tuesday. John Elway if you had made if he had run into any prospects is restaurants. He said, no, I texted you to tell you that and to remind you, hey, pull a Sam Jones. Did you make your way to Elway's or just dumb luck? That Jon Il took you. I did order. I did order a bunch Elway's last night down here in Denver. "To do what's best for the team. We would love to keep Nick false. I mean, you talk about a guy who we've we drafted year and we've grown incredibly close with amount. Not that wouldn't want to have Nick foles on their roster. So certainly as we go into the substance of those discussions, we haven't had them yet. But there's no question we love to have a Nick foles as an eagle in Philadelphia. And we'd love to keep them. Look at some point the business is going to take the front seat. And we will see if the eagles go the extra mile to extract something for Nick foles, and if that antagonize Nick foles, and if his business takes the franc- too because he's got a tunnel leverage in this. Let's see how it all plays out. But it's interesting that they've already declared on Carson Wentz. Surprising. It doesn't surprise me. It doesn't surprise me. I'll say it a third time. It does not surprise me. But I need to keep saying that in order to. I mean because that's two years. Now the first year was him playing with reckless abandon jumping head first for an end zone with Aaron Donald never others. Are the Rams coming at him and his leg? Got crunched in the wrong spot. Boom. Bad luck also style of play which everyone who had been talking about for awhile. With him leading up to that. It's dangerous in there. You don't go head first diamond for the end zone. Live for another day. You get such a great running game. You got look Eric blunt at the time. He got JJ. You've got a whole offense live for another day. Don't go diamond head. I end zone fine. Come back. The next year struggling dot looking as good as the previous year. But that's to be understood coming back from injury. But then a back problem comes up, and those are fickle beasts, and Nick foles is special. They'd love to have him. I don't think Nick foles is going to be like, you know, what I'll make my twenty million dollars holding the clip boarding. And it must be wants to go the Kirk cousins wrote here year-by-year make a ton of money until he can finally have the leverage you go where the hell he wants. We'll see if the eagles franchise him, which that could happen. What else do? Four million dollars though, or whatever. I think it'd be like twenty five million number is. No. But I don't think the I think they would franchise him not for the attentive keeping up with the intent of trying to trade him, right? Just a couple other coaching notes that Mike monk check ends up. Joining the Broncos as their offensive line. Coach Gary kubiak to the Vikings as an offensive advise now kubiak in Elway clearly didn't see eye to eye for him to not get the job. There was Vic Fangio saying I got my own thing. Right. And I'm sorry, John. I know you're tight with kubiak that he's won a I just don't want to have a former Super Bowl head coach who's your best friend being my coordinator my first ever job. So you could understand Vic Fangio made some sort of maneuver to say, I don't want this. And which is explains why he didn't want to answer those questions at his press conference about kubiak 'cause it was stuck up in the air and makes sense and kubiak is now going to Minnesota where Kevin's defence key is still the offensive coordinator. But kubiak son is on the on the staff and apparently everybody likes each other. And that's great. But Why's shack leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers? To go to the Denver Broncos. Now, he has family apparently in Colorado, which would make sense right there. But he was passed over for the head coaching job in Denver. And he's still going there is it that bad in Pittsburgh. I don't know, man. You have to sit here and wonder Tony O'Brien had some real weird tweets this morning. My gosh. Wouldn't you want to get the hell out of there if you're right? Arabs like the ship. Was I'll read it out loud too. Because you know, this is our favorite low hanging fruit game as well. Let me find it right here. Which is which is Big Ben saying something that can be misconstrued. You extra words in the Arctic is in the article, I read on ESPN dot com of Monsanto to going from Pittsburgh to Denver, quote is what he said, I guess in his radio show making a public plea prior to leaving to retain Mancha quote. I pray that fans, right? As many letters as they can to Mr. Rooney to keep Coachmen Chac around. He's such a special coach. Yes, or no, there's one more step. There's one more step sentence that sends us in a totally different weird direction yesterday. Yeah. Right. Yes. Let's hear it when the linemen are happy and love to play for their coach. They play better. So check is making the linemen unhappy and they're not playing hard air go. No, no, no the way I took it as like, they're not happy blocking for first balance quarterback going to hall of fame. Shouldn't that automatically keep them? Happy. He's just weird. It's just you know, what I mean like, we can all there's always one line that causes you to just go. That's a little weird. It's a little off, isn't it? I can't he just just like just stop it. Right there. Just it's always like Costanza doesn't wanna leave too quick college things. Former Notre Dame quarterback. Brandon wimbush trans he's a graduate transfer for next year gonna go play at central Florida's. That means he's out of the portal, or he's in the Puerto words or protocols or the protocol of the portal. There's no this call he is but still has eligibility. So he's gone. Then he's going to play next year like that phantom zone day goes into the the atmosphere with general in it that needs some sort of nuclear blast to get you out of it. He's safe. He's not in there. Michigan's new offensive coordinator. Josh Gad has had no idea he was even going to be recruited by Michigan. Jim Harbaugh apparently landed him in a couple of hours. Josh Gad is said, quote when Jim called me it caught me off guard because I was literally just left a meeting Nick Sabin. Whereas getting my butt chewed out for twenty minutes and then telling him I was leaving. And he tried to keep me to stay. Yeah. Apparently did not go over well from what's happening right now as Josh Gaddis who is a co coordinator, I believe with the offense in Alabama. Was getting some offers from other schools at any apparently was going in the direction of Maryland. And when Harbaugh heard that he was thinking of leaving Alabama goes will let me let me get in on this and five hours later, he was Michigan's play caller and Harbaugh's apparently going to hand the entire offense off to him to which I say love it bring. Jalen hurts. And this is just a no, no, she Patterson is just fine. But use him use him in a way with you got some big huge NFL quality, physical wide receivers out wide. Let let's go. It's the twenty first century, and to to that I say just to bring it all full circle here that some folks think that may be Jason Garrett should reimagined himself with a new offensive coordinator in Dallas in the same way that Andy Reid reimagined himself and Coughlin eventually reimagined himself while still on the job with the giants and Harbaugh having the ability to say, you know, what let's get this kid this younger guy from Alabama and bring him in. And it's your job. Kudos. I think that takes some sort of looking in the mirror, and of course, the twenty-first century aspect of it all is this story came out on Jim Harbaugh's podcast. How do you get Gaddis donnas? Pod was able to land that booking right? Okay. Let's take a break. I will explain to you. Why I'm gonna leave this chair for two days? That's they can't it can't come out. But that's next. Here on the rich Eisen show Capital One. What do you think of when you think about your Bank? It's where you keep your money. Right. But you probably also think about minimums and fees pretty typical Capital One though is building something completely different and his reimagining banking. What does that mean? Capital? One wants to build a better back. Obviously, you think.

"Triangle actually started becoming significant in the last month of the season. They're like they're youngest team. I think that was in the playoffs or definitely in one of the two youngest. Teams average age twenty they won the NFC east. What else you have? All right. Also in the NFC east last year. Suitable champions the Philadelphia Eagles, obviously walk going on there at their quarterback position. Doug Peterson and how he Roseman addressed. Okay. The possibility with Nick foles today. Yes. Of course is a quarterback going forward and Nick's case. Listen, we would love to have everybody back throughout the roster. But as I've said, many many times, you know, it's not about one guy. When the youngsters out there. Go back, and they recognize the old school, and they bring it to where we are today. Bravo. You know, what I gotta say Dabo, teaching them, boys? Right. What also was good? Was it Reese Davis and Chris Fowler had no idea? No clue. No clue whatsoever. And I actually felt like more of a hip or white, dude. I do exactly what they were talking about all in the video. Just don't want that. You know, what I did have gone on practice that by the way? Since you have it on DVR. You know, what you can do that? I would recommend when you're watching the the Alabama sadness is every time they picked off tag law or they sacked him or they stopped him on fourth down inside the twenty five whatever, you know, what I was saying, no senor. That's a fun little thing. Now to to to end up happy in your your sports lexicon while you're cheering against the team plays better in Spanish. Yeah. You know, we we can argue about it. You could say objectively don't play ball players better than Spanish. That's it. That's all I believe it's into constitution. The ninety eighth amendment. We are at the point now where. NFL head coaching positions are being filled. The Broncos looking at Mike monks. Check offensive line coach for the Steelers Vic Fangio obviously defensive coordinator. Currently with the bears. They are they're down to those two guys. Josh mcdaniels is going to stay with the patriots this time. He's doing it without taking a job first. And then going back to the patriots each not interviewing anymore. He stay in with the with the patriots the Packers. They've hired titans. Offensive coordinator, Matt lefleur, which believe Bob means flower in the flower and French could could be wrong about that. But the big news of the day, and it is delicious USC shot and for it in. I believe there's German as well cliff Kingsbury who got fired from Texas Tech. Right. Just recently. Let's go to class. Okay. Sure. That's what he wasn't his inability to win football games cliff Kingsbury who got fired from Texas Tech. Who's never been a coach in the National Football League as found. Inappropriately desperate franchise. And it is of course, the cardinals who just fired their one year head coach Steve Wilks on on black Monday a couple of weeks ago, easy. Settle down. Hey, man, he was a brother. So. Black Monday for him in more ways. They want more than the obvious. So clip Kingsbury gets fired from Texas Tech goes to be the offensive coordinator at USC that the head coach clay Helton stays there to be the offensive coordinator. And the thought was SC wanted to get him bring them into the fold. And so if the clay Hilton thing continues to go at its current pace, which is not good enough for SE Kingsbury will take over. And this is this is what I'm hearing Bobby you might hear different him to take over as the head coach. But definitely get Kingsbury in there and pump up that USC offense a little bit. It's very rare that USC told thanks, but no thanks cliff Kingsbury bought himself out of his USC contract. And I'm sure he's going to be reimbursed by the cardinals bought himself out of his USC contract. So USC now man, I'm good. I'm going to take this job. Yes. It is cardinals. They still qualifies professional football franchise. But the Arizona Cardinals getting clip Kingsbury who's never been in NFL coach just got fired from Texas Tech. But everybody Bob is looking for that young hot offenses binded coach, Sean McVeigh Matt Nagy Shanahan, the younger. Now, those guys had been in the league with Sean McVeigh. I mean, he's been around the league for years, obviously, be another grandson of the great John McVeigh, but bring a clip Kingsbury end and him telling USC now, I'm gonna go ahead and get out of here and take this job. It's just an interesting story on a on quite quite a few levels. I just think that down. Franchises continue to do dumb things. Desperate. It's Sean McVeigh and Kyle Shanahan while they were young look at their resumes. Okay. So all we gotta get a young offensive coordinator. You just use something really important has never been or never had NFL type experience right now. I'm not I'm not doing the, you know, hey, you you coached in college. And therefore, you can't coaching NFL. That's fine. That's fine. But the best college coach I've ever seen in my life sucked an NFL coach and Abby Nick Sabin. And that's the guy who had a lot of head coaching experience in is very very good at his job. And the NFL was too big for him. You're going to tell me you were you didn't you weren't even a winning college. Coach you go five and seven and this isn't at LSU or Ohio State or Penn State or Alabama or USC your Texas Tech. Now, you're going to jump into the NFL and be a head coach. Why here's here's where I will kind of see it from the Arizona Cardinals point of view. And I do believe that it is a it is a desperate higher by a desperate franchises. I think this is more of the NFL going into the direction of spread offensive principles the way college football doing things offensively. We saw last night is the NFL going to that. And and being okay with that being the focal point of your offense in Arizona. They've got to get something. And sooner rather than later, obviously. They would hope they've got to start to get something out of Josh Rosen and cliff Kingsbury, even though we had under five hundred seats. He got fired for Texas Tech. I don't think there's anybody outside of the Kingsbury family who thinks that that wasn't the right move to move on from him. But when he had two thing going to Texas Tech, they could slaying the ball around a sling a sling it around slinging around. Well, so I just see era Zona again, they've they're desperate. They've almost got nothing to lose. But I think this is just another NFL team. Just kind of going full bore full tilt into college. Coach would you know spread off principles? And this is what he's he's known for even if he hasn't worked in the league this try it. Yeah. That's that's the. Bruce Arians, and.

Obviously just listened to that Keno campaign magazine, which is a big advertising industry magazine asked me for interview. After that keynote you're about to get the exclusive behind the scenes audio which is fun audio of that. But while you're doing that, please rate and review the podcast. I have not asked any of you to rate and review my podcast ever. We suck Andy I've never asked any of you to rate and review it now, I'm asking listen. I don't give a shit just give it your truth five rate and review wanted to pick up on a low of the things please really tool. You seeing put sickly frustrated. Marketing decisions you say so many wrong. But you say you spend all your money markets and would apply you really saying that plies to even the biggest infants g companies in the world world's biggest appetizers. Yeah. And I look I think that I think that for the biggest advertisers. I've empathy for many other behaviors. But it is the analogy needs the context. So it's not hyperbole is d- that when something is grossly underpriced. Every english. I'll give you the analogy if every English Premier League team reached out to Arby s Bank right now and said, you know, what? Even though we beginning. Fifteen million dollar a year sponsorships for our stadiums. We like you, and we all want to offer you eight year deals at one million a year. I think it's probably a good idea for our Bs to buy them. All that's where my mind goes with Facebook. I don't think people understand the arbitrage. It's not that television and outdoor and direct mail is zero or dead. Not at all. It's that most of those things are overpriced. This other thing is underpriced that means it needs its proper allocation. In today's world, if you were a massive company in the UK market between Instagram and Facebook, you are getting to a shocking amount of people at a very low cost. But meanwhile, they want to deck out a double decker bus for awareness. You know? So I would say this. Nobody is allocating the appropriate amount of money to Facebook and Instagram given how under price that is due. I believe that Pepsi and Puma in the UK shit, Orne Europe should spend fifty sixty percent of their money just on Facebook and its remnant answer is. Yes, should you? Do a lot of the other things they do. Yup. But they should cut the budgets on all those things. So that they can afford to fifty to sixty percent on Facebook and Instagram. I believe that. We this really interesting in the context of the creative side, you talked a lot about talk of clouds, how you don't understand why some of these big marketing campaigns why they won't do more. It's rations of the same central creates. Why know why I know why it's not in the margin for the media or creative agency. But I don't know why coke has not pushing back. But to take one step back, please that clearly needs to be a central crucify identity, and you still need to have a creative agency or an insecurity. Whatever you want to have creek. But I think you'll appreciate that. But I think appreciate us. That's not what's happening even in the traditional world. There's a TV see, but Coca Cola is what is Coca Cola doing sponsoring a NASCAR car and putting their logo on it and not tying it into their TV..

"I came across this old thread about pop culture romanticism. Okay. And they were talking about just like things that pop culture tries to make seem good that shouldn't be you know, looked at his good. So for example. One of the examples that I had used to kind of help like get these guys going about where I was trying to go with this was. A character who has some kind of mental illness, and or disability who the story comes out in such a way to where that character is good at said thing because they have said illness or disability. It's like because you're for example, you had brought up earlier off Mike monk-. Oh, yeah. Monk? Yeah. The show monk, and it's like because he's obsessive about everything that is. What makes them a good detective? Right. And I'm like that's not how it's kind of exploiting his obsessive compulsive disorder. That's not how you know, mental illness and disorders and stuff work. Right. It doesn't make you a super anything. Like, an example. I use was that bin f- like movie the accountant where he is a high functioning form of autism. So that's supposed to make him super good at math, and he can kill people and learn karate real good and shit because he can process them formation differently. And I'm like that's not how any formal autism works, right? Sorry. Yeah. No work like that in that kind of bothers me. "Golic and wingo on the road. We are in Philadelphia. Just a stone's throw away from the link Lincoln financial fielder, chickens and pizza, and let's be honest. It's been a pretty good six seven months for eagles fans. Right. You guys have had a good time. Right. What I figured and they're getting their Mojo back is Carson Wentz comes back and it's gonna make his first start since that December game against the Rams last season. Were you twenty ACL and the L C L, but he's ready to go. The winds wagon is healed. So things are good. Things are really good on the eastern side of the state of Pennsylvania. Thanks, not so good on the western side of the state of Pennsylvania. I think eagles fans are just fine with all of that. By the way the Steelers have yet to win a game. They're all one in one. They tied the Browns. They got strafed by Pat Mahomes who junior and I've already put in the hall of fame. This is whatever you want Mike monks on that bandwagon. So there continues to be issues, and we we sell the Antonio Brown burst out in sidelines, which I don't give a bleep about. Because everybody does it the camera. Just caught on what happens all the time. Brady does it every week. But then he missed practice on Monday. And then he tweeted out of the former PR player watch trade we then find out when he made a remark basically that said Big Ben made him. So there's been a lot of angst over the last few days with the Steelers Antonio Brown did show up this week. And that did address the media for the first time in let's just say he was agitated losing a game again beat up forty. We haven't won a game for me as a still has. On a Ceylon beggar for the ball of making statements is you guys me I'm pissed off. We losing we sell. Well, they haven't lost by forty list. They gave up forty but he didn't lose by forty. So how much of this? Do you say, I get it? It's because they're losing their up to a bad start. There were thirteen and three last year, and how much do you say or do we have actual internal everything that's going on say again, tell me what's different tell me when this hasn't the losing. Yeah. Exactly, right. Antonio Brown has been questioned about his social media stuff before. I mean, when when we keep hearing about they have problems, they have problems Antonio Brown's the only one who's done something. I mean the old line. I spouted off too much about lay beyond Bill early on. We ever heard a bit from them dot coming back for a while. He's enjoying that jet skis. They're averaging almost thirty points game this offense. Antonio Brown is still getting the ball thrown to him. I'm I'm almost amazed as much as being made about this Antonio Brown. Listen, do I love. The fact I'm blaming the media for the headlines bla-bla-bla to me Antonio Brown is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah throwing the ball because he's a great receiver. And they're throwing the ball. Their defense is bad right now. We haven't heard boo from them. But they're giving up over thirty points against all. This other stuff means nothing to me nothing, and it's not going to change until the winning starts happening because you're right. That is the difference for a franchise that has one double digit games. The last four seasons has been a playoff contender the lab. Last four seasons and has found a way to make this work. And so you always I think see this. I think we saw this towards the end of the time in Seattle with the Seahawks comparing those teams again where you see a lot more the personalities that are on board compared to teams like the patriots who are the gold standard. In a lot of ways who are different in ways that make most of those comparisons irresponsible in my mind. But in this case, you see the way the personality differences kids show up when losing starts to happen. Absolutely. And look at the patriots make everything the outlier because of how excellent they've been for so long not against eagles, of course in the Super Bowl. But you know, it gets most teams, however as talented as that Steelers team has been like for example last year that game in early December when the patriots came to Heinz field the Steelers did everything right but win the game. And it just seems like they've been so talented yet. They haven't been able to find a way to put all the pieces together. And I think that's leading even more frustration when you realize Benz getting older on Bell's not there, the killer bees a windows called Davis is no longer there. He's with the raiders. Another team that has their own issue, by the way. So you wonder have they missed the opportunity to be everything this team could be with all the time to get it back again the offense when your average number thirty point you're doing, okay. I I'll say again that defensive side of the ball. We thought was going to be really big time this year, and they they haven't been there. Just yet. They're given up forty two points to the chiefs. And Jeremy Fowler says they're going to try and simplify things they're going to need to because they're playing the bucks and the hottest quarterbacks ABM.

I was looking at my overrun there's and maybe I'll drop some of this at the back end of our season prediction, not for win totals. Yeah. Pat, tell you what there's a couple out there. You can make some real money. I know that everybody says that every year, I know I know that I won't get them. All right. But there's a couple that are glaringly Ned in terms of the way they've been set, at least the way I see it. I think this was scratched to be made. It's gotta have the stones hit. And thoroughly Cleveland's one bears might be one. Now, I've been singing their summer guide. He was like what are you talking about? That's right. That's right. You're supposed to be the whole vibe. You remember that? That was funny. Let's see the poll question so far it's about Mike Tomlin little more shade from Terry Bradshaw. And basically without reading the whole thing, we ask you where you would rank Mike monks. His peers in the NFL right now top five six through ten eleven through fifteen or sixteen or lower last time. We checked we were mid forty percent between six and ten. I would vote either top five or see the problem with six to ten if I vote six to ten it's a lot closer to six thousand ten. Yep. And. If I vote top five it's a lot closer to five than one. So I might vote six to ten but still doesn't offset the the the bigger in which we defend them. It's one to five one to five he's not one Bella check, Sean Payton. Yup. As locks. That's it. That's it. That's it. Mike Tomlin, coach better. Mike Tomlin who are ball Peterson. I can't say horrible, Carol. Mccarthy I'm looking at the list here. Jon gruden. I've put Pete Carroll. They're still I would personally put P three now. Pete ran a good thing for a long time. Did Pete's top five got a remade remade defense. See if he can do it with some sketching us on that side of the ball. I dunno. But they still have Russell Russell's just better and better every single year though, man writer for inbounds out about let's get it. Let's go. Anything can happen in sports and often.

"Provide credit was essential i think it was really i think it was absolutely the right decision and it meant the us economy recovered quicker and our banking system recovered quicker and it was again about stabilizing the economy jim go ahead gonna say this is the central dilemma for policymakers in crisis which is that everybody's instinct is to let the thing burn yeah because it seems just to let it burn and it seems fair good for future incentives good for moral hazard and better predict future crises but if you let the thing burned to the point this system collapses you're gonna left he left with hundreds of millions of innocent victims and it it is very hard for people to understand completely understandably that what feels unjust and immoral in the context of breaking a panic is the most just thing to do if your interest is trying to prevent the economy from mass unemployment or a decade of bread lines across the country like what happened the great depression and it's a hard thing for people to appreciate it think in part because you know we hadn't had a major financial panic in seventy five years there was no living memory of what the risks were in letting panic burnt to go too far and that the in some ways it's the central reason why these things are so terrible because the natural human political instincts around fairness and justice collides with what is necessary ineffective to protect the most people this is actually great because all three of your lane and into the mike monks you wanna climb in on that.
