"Those are your top choices but really you can easily make a case for all five. A lot of people don't realize we've been around longer than you think i. I've been writing previous for the site for about nine years almost ten. I think ten next year next january And you know consistently been writing previews for the big races over and over each year. I've never wrote one where you know. I have a throw out section at the bottom. Where i've never put a horse in the throat section but i just didn't feel like any of these sources deserve to be labeled as that i mean we gotta feel the five sometimes will overuse the. Hey any horse win this race. This truly is any horse can win. You can make a case you can. You can almost describe a path of victory for each of these five runners. That is a pretty special. So yeah like you said. It's a five horsfield but i'd rather have this than five. Horses in three horses had no shot to win. Yeah i mean listen you look at this race in what you like to be visualizing but it's like well what do you want i mean yeah again you the rest of would be filler so to me. It's even though it's five horses. You have this insane kind of storyline where you have you know. Obviously you add affiliate maher into the mix gotta everett which is awesome. Silver state seems to do nothing but when going you know going from the met. Mileage obviously a iconic win this race and then you nikko who tat looked like maybe after that mile. Oh then he goes in roms for the cornhuskers. Now he's here now. They're kind of deciding which way which route they're going to go with him. He's alone speed and then maxwell he's done very little wrong entire career he's just never really had that kind of level of this kind of level of tests that we're about to see so there's a lot of storylines with every single course here by the way by my standards. A horse is ten to one easily. The the long shot of the group has not done a lot wrong here. He runs his race. And it you know you will be surprised that he is a pulled up. He's he's a he's was over to for him. Yeah he's he's had a huge last couple years as well. Yeah yeah you're right. I mean these sources. Well charles says it never seen a race for all. The horses have seven wins while wide open. You know in two point two million standard. Yeah and mike marsh says he check and max field and silver state box exact. Here's the all times as a handicapper when when you say chucking sources and you you say you list to of. You're pretty confident right. But boy to say. I'm gonna chuck suger say to mansfield but you have to chuck somebody right so it's not. I'm not like making fun of that. You have to take a stand somewhere. Those are just too hard worse to take stephen with any two would be hard to is. Go is going to be hard to take a stand with their wide open. You wanna talk about path. The i so. I said something. Say easier path to victory right like who has easiest path to victory in this race. I think it's an exco. Because we know if he gets out on the lead and gets that cruising speed. He's going to be tough right. Tackle not be right. I mean let's look at him real quick so you. This is a horse shoes. Obviously since moving to brad cox he's been very very good growth rafa for windsor road including that pegasus in saudi fourth still got a paycheck. There came back ran for the mild start to wonder. Oh is this see in you. Know maybe the the the the the deals over you know and then he comes back and runs a one. Thirteen buyer No matter how you slice it all numbers came back. Strong when that won career-high buyer obviously a very high buyer of the group year. And he did his thing. You know and and brad said before even for the mile like we're not really sure if one turn is his thing and it's an odd thing because you're still going you know it's it's about the one turn yogi turns. He's fine he's obviously this distance. He's been very good to wins and three starts so the fact that they wouldn't go here. And you know. Brad said after gore. Soy's after but it's like you know maybe there was two from the saudi saudi cup Or would the loss and the saudi cup was may be two quick from the pegasus and that may be us a reason why he didn't run as great as he could have been the on that melnik distance but to me he especially when he's got no pace with him the like. I don't know that don't know the distance really matters and that's kind of the problem with the race. Where is the pace other than him. So think the whole key. I think we'll know how this is gonna unfold. You know on the first turn up the backside because if he is you'll you'll be able to see like rhythms and strategies and who's pressuring. He's not. I'm really glad you set it like that. Because in the mile he got the lead. But you could tell. And i don't care about the fractions. I watched the horse. You could tell he's fighting you know fighting the track. He's not in a in a smooth rhythm over to me and the malik they were to to turn yet. And you're like this is not good. Yeah this is done. Because he just didn't he just didn't have that comfortable motion. When you watch him in the pegasus you watch him at and people are gonna say well. It was a corn. Hardly care but watch is running like watches motion. he's just very fluid very calm and controlled. That's if you see that up the backside in the whitney they're gonna be. I mean if somebody catches him. It's going to be monster effort. The other part is. Where does the pressure come from. If somebody's gonna do it. Swiss skydivers really the only option right. So she can holds the key to the race in a way. Yeah i mean we. We talked you talked about this on the flight. It's like you know you don't know. Obviously the plan was in the whitney no like but you know the issues that have happened. It's like fell into this. You know she's training gray. She needs to run here. We are so you kind of wonder what kind of effort or maybe like what kind of tactics are gonna take with. Because it's more like okay. This isn't the goal. Obviously the classic to get to the classic isn't the plan we're going to you know so. Let's get her raised have run her race and see what happens. You get i read. That's that's very interesting. She's obviously classy enough to win. The thing i mean that's the thing inches. Obviously classy enough. If she really has like we saw it helps. You wanna bring something. If he's one big races in the past. Where she you go back to. The bluegrass were she. Put it all the dirty work in that race. She definitely could put some pressure on nico. I think like you said we'll know.

"How comfortable he was. Why everybody's so uncomfortable when the player start getting a little bit a little bit more power. That's what we are seeing here. There is a shift inc in power. That's what we're going back to last year man. I'm not going to go into all the bad stuff. I because i truly believe it's the good thing and i think it was wild or maybe it was joy yesterday to say. Look it's it's the one percent of the one percent. There's a couple of guys out there that should have a seat at the table that say look jay. Kuma rules my guy. I like jay oumarou. We can get done together. I don't care what you think. But that is my. I'm the one out here that got to get the job done. Y'all can do everything you want in a board room. Y'all can do anything. You went in the draft when we get on his phil. You gotta be able to listen to me. Because i see things differently than you guys see. I'm right here so when you take j. coomer by and you don't talk to them. That's a problem. And the same thing. Jordy nelson the same thing with james jones. The same thing with randall. Cobb now randall. 'cause back so you can you see that. He was uncomfortable. Talking about oh. I don't think aaron rodgers understood. You know why. We made some of those moves. May we gotta do a better job explaining. That's basically what he said. Nobody aaron rodgers is saying is the moves who made was terrible moves. Who made made no sense so now. If you don't listen to me i'm gonna be out there right. That's what he's saying. So now it's on air. Rogers in ron randell. Call to go out there and get the job done. So doesn't blow up in their face and people like well our air you ask for this but you guys aren't getting the job done randall. Cobb isn't helping you out randall. Visit making your team better. So i think it's now the pressure's on aaron rodgers. And if he delivers he's not only going to put himself in a better position. But he's gonna put other quarterbacks like russell wilson other quarterbacks like josh allen and better position because of what he the success. He's going to have we saw with tom. Brady so would they gotta do is on third down the tight rid. You know situation. Football is when he has to thrive randall. Cobb is not gonna come in and have a thousand yards. Randall cobb well maybe he could potentially two thousand fourteen twelve hundred air rogers. But don't expect that. Don't expect randall cobb. To come in and light it up. What you need to see is in this in in the toughest moments. That tight windows will randall. Cobb come in and deliver. That's what we need to see all right. So my take away was different brandon. Might take away was that we applauded. Aaron rodgers for transparency but oddly. I am not going to applaud brian. Guten coups for transparency because he was very transparent about two things one. He did not relinquish control. He's still controls. The situation to other really want random rob on the team if it was up to him rental common the squad so yeah transparent great for the players but if you're in the management you know we should do manage buddy it's called management. It's a noun verb. You gotta manage manage the message. So here's what you can. Do you relinquishing control. I don't even view it like that. I don't view it like that question. I don't view it about who has control. I'm laser focused on winning. And you know who else is. Aaron rodgers randall. Cobb so the fact that we're all laser focused on winning. That's the only thing i'm concerned about instead. Relinquish control yeah rail cops here erin is important. You like well you know i. It was important to me. And i have all the control of you. Brought him in already aged for juilliard. Ask meryl streep performance stars. I am asking to manage a message to the media and to your own players in other management that you're working with an overall. I am not warning in the academy award or for management or acting. I'm with their while. Look i'm gonna say bryant guten kuhn's one time henceforth. He is known as gucci. All right. i'm calling his argument to say. Hey sign that man. Randall visit hardy. You waiting on waiting on air. Rodgers hand and foot for the rest of disease was going to make my job hard. That's what he really wanted to say. All jokes aside i actually. I think you're right while he was being honest and transparent and i'd get worries come from no air. Rogers is not running the show are. He's not making all the personnel decisions. I don't think that's what rogers once i think. What rod this situation is rodgers. Now his opinion is being value. They're coming to him to hear what he think about this player you you know. What do you think about this receiver. What we we are listening to your opinion. You now have input. It should've been that way from day. One or at least at least once. He became an all pro. Quarterback is should've been that way for years with aaron rodgers. now it is and this is a good thing. What really makes guten clues job. Hard is that he. It's all out in the media as the primary reason that aaron rodgers doesn't like the green bay packers organization. That's what makes his job. Is that all the guy. Pressure is now on him. So other than that. I think he was being honest and transparent. You're right wilder doesn't play that well in the media but yeah it's now there's a little bit give and take with aaron rodgers and i think this is healthy. It should always been this way rightfully so guys look. That's my job is to go back and pull on my experience. You know playing in the league right. I go back to chicago. And we had Jay cutler but before i even got this call. I'm sitting there. I'm sitting down here in miami florida plan for the dolphins. We weren't doing well. We were terrible. And i was looking at this icago beers play sunday night football and native. Were doing well. And they were terrible. And they're not called jay cutler after the game because he just got sacked like seven eight times. I'm talking about bruises all over the place. I'm like buddy man. I miss you from our our denver. Bronco days man. I'm just calling just to say. I miss you. I love you and also man just hanging out. That was a tough game. There's nothing you can do. You had no time. And then also the mike marsh system they have. You dropped back seven steps with that type of office is it's not gonna work. Just hang in there man just hanging. We all see the world series where happened. After that year jay cutler went to management said. I need x. receiver. Oh they said okay. Day what x. Received want in the draft. Who who's out there free agency as he said no. I don't need any of those x. Receivers i need my guy brandon. Marshall what he do that's that feel emory and company came and got me then. They went and got martellus bennett. Then they went and also jeopardy listen to jay cutler in they wanted him to have the table when it came to the draft. They brought an also. Jeffrey and then they pay matt forte. And what happened. They became the number. we became the number one chicago. Bears offense in the history of the organization. Why because they listened to their quarterback. Now obviously we're not aaron rodgers. Tom brady we didn't win a championship. Do anything like that. But when you have a franchise quarterback you have a face of the franchise a guy that you're paying millions of dollars you better listen. And so that's just one example. But it happens throughout the entire league. With some of our league's best especially at the quarterback.

aaron rodgers randall Cobb jay oumarou coomer ron randell josh allen Jordy nelson Aaron rodgers randall james jones russell wilson Rogers Randall cobb bryant guten kuhn randall cobb rogers jay brandon Brady

"Should buy because it's low and tomorrow we should. There was some thought of that. But you know you think about today in this is this is the iro that you don't get on radio. Know there was some thought to that. There was some thought i mean. We just didn't willy. Nilly go out and i want one of those now and then just go get it. We you know the stars had to align and we we put ourselves in those places but what scares me to death on greeley and i see all these apartments and maybe that's one of the reasons that all the apartments are going up by god. They're everywhere boardman. I mean do you live in a house or do you live in an apartment. And i live back with my parents now. See then that. Which for god's sakes what's the average price three hundred. No kidding for one bedroom. Well well of one bedroom apartment is going for how much now twelve hundred and twelve hundred bucks. It's insane just Not that this person is. That is expert in rentals are the rental market. I was in which we all know. By how long donuts. Donuts and salsa chips and salsa. My things usually radio. It's the donut thing. Because i had a legitimate reason yesterday anyway beside the story i had to give my fasting. Blood draw for my physical and the doctor told you to get donuts. He's and i had to i. It was yes. He never that that somebody told me anyway. So the gentlemen at windchills downtown. I asked him about the apartments across the way gorgeous. An increase in business based on the population in those apartment buildings. Because they're within. I couldn't even waddell if i rented that close to a donut shop so he said that they are one thousand nine hundred for two bedroom and that he hasn't seen any increase really in because of the because of the parts and he doesn't think they're very full now. I think that that's probably out of the pandemic we're coming out of the pandemic will see you know. I don't think they're probably dropping. Their prices are going to see what happens when the school when when the comes back in because that population you know the population of not all college students are starving or not all college student. I don't know i don't know things. Yeah we don't know any we're going to run out. We're going to check on some news and again you are listening. Co- now and thirteen ten k. k. We'll be back in a flash. What's happening in your own backyard. Listen to noko now with tanner's swint a northern colorado's voice thirteen ten. Kfi k good morning northern colorado. You are listening to no co- now on thirteen ten. Kfi am mike marsh markle's in specialists with auto prison specialist. We got the last minute. Call that Tanner was allegedly. And we can always say allegedly sick. You know it'd be much you you you're going to be sick because karma no no no. I'm a you know. Good things happen to good people. Deb and in person. You should be wishing tenor well. All of the energy out there. That whatever's wrong with him is better that he's better. I don't know what to say to that i. I'm a guy i can't do that. Are you kidding me. I can't do that so but no i do. Wish hannah will. Hopefully he did not sound very good this morning so back to population and home prices in apartments. And and i still drive around greeley. And i've been here my whole life pretty much my whole adult life and i've had we have had the business for gosh going on thirty plus years Thirty four. i think if i do the math correctly but And we've seen a lot of changes and I tell you what it. I'm torn the from from a business side from the money side. you know. i'm i'm good with with what's going on right. We've we've fair. We talked about that. We've fared very well on the appreciation of homes but my problem is with along with my age. I've become a bit cynical. Because i still look at a lot of this wealth that was created over the last you know twenty years of of home price appreciation and look at us. What your first house was how much my first. How would you pay for forty thousand. The first house that i lived in my current spot. Oh you're one of those kids you'd be living down in those type departments by parents paid twelve thousand dollars and a couple of granary bins. That's free market. And when he served the grain bins in buying a house it was the size needed They had a house in greeley like to know how that conversation went. I'd like to buy your house. But i need some grain bins and you know it was over over a cup of coffee over my mom's baked goods at the kitchen table. I'm sure you know. But about twelve grand in a couple of green bins and then here we are today right so and then you took that and parlayed that into the house you bought over on harbert which was buying. You'll kmart which is now behind the police station and then sold that. I think you said you pay that. That house i made. I really made a really nice profit on. That was probably feel about that. I feel i feel really good. But then we took that and bought a lot and kersey and built a house desk and then we sold that house for a yeah and that. That's probably where where we really started our house journey. When it was the first house we bought up. And you. and you did the What do they contractor. General didn't and we and we did all the flooring all the trim the doors.

"Well what do you want to see. Absolutely and we do listen to our members and our supporters. You know a lot of times what we do. Listen to is how things so when we see something do well. We're like okay. That works if it doesn't do as well then we're like well okay. Maybe won't do that again. But let us know Working to to offer things that people want I can say dude gaming rules. We can't say we're gonna offer next for raffle stop when we have a couple of really cool raffles coming up So keep an eye out. You're going to see them. Pretty soon and Coming down the pipe so with that. Let's go to episode thirty two We're gonna welcome bc liberal mla. mike marsh from prince. George mackenzie to the show steve Looking forward to this one's going to be a great chat absolutely if you looked up the word conservation superhero in the dictionary. You would see a picture of our friend omer from precision optics tireless donor and supporter of all things wild sheep precision optics located in british columbia truly stands alone in the alpine from optics. Two rifles to outdoor gear and a knowledge that cannot be surpassed. Top in that killer smile. And you have total conservation. Package precision optics. We truly thankful for the support. You show us every step of the way buying them online at precision optics dot net or roma foods located just off highway ninety seven cornell b. c. Good afternoon mike. Welcome to the Talk is cheap. Podcast real pleasure to have you on and thanks for taking the time to meet with us this afternoon. My pleasure. this is scott excellent. Mike yeah we appreciate You know really what you've done for hunts to hunters across British mia You know your involvement in victoria is You know you've been very active down there very vocal on issues around sustainability conservation related issues and you know opportunities frost hunters as well so. It's something that you know. I really watch closely. What you're doing in the legislature. We're really grateful for what you've done. The while sheep. Society b c. We had this opportunity to present. Twenty thousand letters to the premier on on the ninth on wednesday and true to form. You showed up to speak in support of of what we're doing It always seems very consistent with yourself and also the liberal party to support were getting as hunters across the landscape here and being out there to support us all the time so it was a pleasure. Senior guys aaron impress or walks showed up in front of the legislature and It's too bad it was. We have to do. During covert time. So we've been quoted times now for a year and a half off. It'll be over one of these days soon. But i think the message was important that that be delivered in the way that it wasn't and i've got a meeting with the minister coming up towards the end of the month here so i might chit chat with her little bit of this issue as well yes. So let's i guess maybe jumping to that issue. You know a little bit. And i know mike. You're very active around. Conservation related issues forced related issues. All all these different things. But you know we haven't really talked about the issue at hand with some. It's something that is a huge concern for us and we've actually got a little bit. Of flack a wild sheep for kind of making a stand in a statement around you know that we want to hold the government to account on this issue around wildlife meant using science because we did see it back in two thousand seventeen when The grizzly bear just went away. You know one of the most heavily Studied animals In the province. There's a lot of time money and effort understanding them and the government shutdown. You know kind of on election promise. So you know i guess. Maybe it'd be great to hear from you on your perspective on your thoughts and science-based while they've management kind of this this issue we're having to deal with the boat social licensing and you know maybe hunters shouldn't be harvesting taking off the landscape not based on sustainability but based on. You know because somebody doesn't like that an animal dies in the process so if you could talk a little bit to that i appreciate it over. Wildlife has been undervalued in this province side Rates in the beginning went four streak came along. We adopted that sustainable yield strategy way back in nineteen forty five with a full focus on on wood and nothing else and i think that is that that began the over. Wildlife populations nbc. And because of that. focus. Well i don't think any government is one thousand nine hundred and five is put the required amount of money into wildlife management or into managing any of the other biodiversity values on which has led us to where we are today. We have no idea of you. Know there's we haven't had a good wildlife inventory program we haven't had a good wildlife you know if you talk to anybody they would be able to tell you how many how many martin we have. How many of any kind of critter that we have in the province here and i think that's wrong when you look at the value that each one of those animals provide to society at mt enter the environment itself. I read back when i was trapping. And and on these days. Maybe i'll be back to that again at ninety but i've got every study on for bears that has been written in the last fifty or sixty years and all of them say the same. You know. just the liberal bibliography i on hearten for an example is twelve pages long and i every single report and pay for that was written on biology. The habitat for martin. Also the same thing that they're declined. Premise deformed lack of habitat that as soon as you log. The mature denver that takes away nesting denning sites and food opportunities in the red back. All those kinds of things but yet we continue to do that. And then you look at the care who situation and just about every report that you see on. Caribou talks about the loss of habitat. And what are we doing. We're still having the trees down as still throwing the habitat da. These animals are in so we haven't learned and part of it is because we have this like i said this incomplete strategy from nineteen forty five that has morph into ideology that is taught in force you programs at the university level at the college level. So these these folks that are now in forestry in senior management positions all they know is how grown cut down trees and how to make it grow faster in the optimum size to put it through a sawmill on even though that the optimum sizes still half the size that's needed to produce inadequate canopy overhead and whatnot so to change the mindset of colleagues and to change the mindset of people in the industry has been enormous task Some days. I feel like i'm just bang my head against a brick wall but i do think you know if i look at the numbers in my own caucus i think i'm i'm probably fifty fifty. Now where rated beginning. I was probably want against everybody so it is working but it's a long painful process in its it's organizations like watch society and others that have made enough noise on the outside. That helps me lincoln to colleagues and other people in the political world. So don't take my word for oldest into these guys are gonna talk to one of these guys over there. And i think people are starting to get the same message from just every organization on the province so go long way to go but We're moving at least appreciate that. Mike so i guess that's kind of the next question. You know we complain a lot about you. Know what's happening on the landscape. Loss of habitat You know there's this whole predator issue which you know is kind of the heart of act now in some capacities because of some of the pushback. We've been getting we go from here you know. We've that was one of the things we're with together for wildlife we'd see some positive changes and And there probably is a very good positive things coming together for wildlife You know we seem to change government at change of a party so you know. Maybe there was some optimism there that we'd see but we're still having the same issue so you know kind of what we need to do. What are some of the things that we can do to improve things to to make a difference and actually start reversing because it seems to me. We're still going backwards from.

"But i think it was deal break in the sense that we have a protection clause to stadium obsolete obsolescence. At the time. I think i mean. Tell me if i'm wrong. It wasn't considered like a poison pill like this will get us out in twenty years. It was just sort. Hey let's make sure we stay. Keep up with the joneses. Literally the jerry jones. I think that's correct. Wasn't like poison pill and i don't think either side saw like that i think the conspiracy theorists say well that's see they always. We're going back to la. And i just said that would be a thirty year. Play like you'd have to be if you're a real conspiracy theorists that means john shaw. Nineteen ninety-four is saying. How do we move in two thousand sixteen and right that that concept is particularly wrong. I specifically wrong I remember reading a book. Once on albert einstein Where after he came up with his theory of relativity Someone wrote him a note and said of of this is true then You know possibly guys could we. Could this could make one hell of a bomb and and the author of the book was commenting that einstein. Read this letter and said with the hell's he talking about and the reality is that these things just development time at the time we put in there. We didn't see it as a poison pill didn't contemplate. You know what happened. Twenty years later just happened Tell tell me about hiring dick for meal. How much flack did you get. How many people. Because now i mean. Sixty is kind of new seventy. It doesn't it doesn't sound old anymore. But at the time he was what sixty one or so and they said it doesn't sound but there. I think there is a movement in the league for these ever since the rams sired sean mcvay for the i mean really. Young coaches put Put there are. I mean but the success bill of p. caroline andy reid and the older coaches needs to be noted I think the bigger issue with dick was the layoff. You know it was a fourteen year. Layoff and People thought it was just out too long and but in my mind there was no doubt that if you had the energy to do it and i guess in that regard age was a factor. Can you be energized. Sixty or sixty one would ever was at the time So in that regard age was a factor. But the reality is he was very successful as a coach wherever he was it had high energy and so Thinking again in hindsight it was one heck of a higher But the first couple years. I think people thought we were crazy. And he tells the story after ninety eight so the first two years not real good. He said he flew out to see you and he starts telling you think we're going to be good john if you and you basically a bullshit. I've heard this so many times. He had he admits that he says john looked at me. Like oh my god. I've heard it all before but that was that was the beginning of the transformational off season. Did he kind of look at you and you look at him and say listen. We're gonna we're gonna stick together but we're going to really tweak a lot of things i think my reaction when he said. I think we're going to be good. I said well. Let's see when we fired rich. We had won six games. Then you went five then you win for the virus to predict this. We might win three next year. And so i think he was taking back but but it You know i. I was worried at that point but I think we had a consensus that we needed to change the offensive. Coordinator improves the quarterback position. And really Try to be aggressive in free agency and you know we hire we we signed. I think Tim in got trent green. So a lot of positive brought on. Mike martz a lot of positive things happening at off-season you trade for marshall faulk. I mean if you look back. I mean if you had done one or two of those things it would have been a huge offseason now and probably at the time. We didn't realize people were probably a little down on the franchise but if you look back and go wait a minute you edit a pro bowl player intimidate. You traded for a hall of fame running back eric. The hottest offensive coordinator in the market. You drafted a future potentially holiday toy. Hold it if we look. We shouldn't have been that shock. But it wouldn't have happened without kurt warner happening too. Because when the trent green injury happen. I think we all looked at each other even over at fox tunes. And are you kidding me. Can we not by a break then. I was devastated in game. I remember the worst sort of feeling watching that game. And i mean it's just. I it just rips your heart out because you you you do feel like you've done a lot of positive things and then you lose. You know what we thought was probably the key play. He and marshall going into that year. And and i mean you go from optimistic to. We have no chance. It's just kind of crazy how everything happened. Then warner becomes this hall of fame quarterback and i kind of. I just wonder if you guys have been good in the eighties. Right the mid eighties. Good luck in the playoffs. Seven ten years. I think yeah and so then but nelson. It's losing his team of the nineties. You were the bengals. And and jay z would hear this all the time well him and they don't know what they're doing. They're not football guys but you guys had been there for good t-. Did you feel vindicated in any way when it turned back around. Well you know if you're not tough skin in this business then you shouldn't be in it It wasn't a it was much more of a feeling of satisfaction and joy than vindication But you know. I never really took the They don't know what they're doing criticism to heart. You know I so i look kind of look past that but it was really Such a joyous occasion to win and and equally as disappointing to lose two years later because It was a really good team. Yeah and it seemed like the franchise and mike martz struggle. Getting over at jay zygmunt charlie army that whole trial for it their thing sort of historically we've written talked about two things kind of fell apart relationship wise if you win that game. Do you think it changes a lot of moving for even we've gone as far as well. Maybe they never move if they win that super bowl. I don't know if it's dad grand. But how how jarring i don't know if it's that ran i think it becomes more an issue of ownership. I think of georgia Had lived and held a team that would not have been a move I think that's much more the possibility then Then we had one that second super bowl with that of solidified the position Teams place in saint louis You know it's hard to say But i never really imagined georgia doing that. Move that's not to say of you know Subsequent on even someone other than stan might have moved the team. Also so it's just. It's just hard to predict those things Yeah it was kinda strange. I mean after they go to season. We had that bad Three season but then came back. And i'll four and look like we're going to get to the super bowl again. Lost that championship game To the panthers so you know it's then that kind of started the end. Mike had the five and then seemed like nothing like right. After that and mike marsh was he went from being like the golden child for for a minute right and then things sorta got soured at did you have you guys ever talked in years since i talked to mike all the time..

"Northern colorado. You are listening to no co- now on thirteen ten. I'm mike marsh from auto collision specialists. I'm deb. Moore's with auto. Oh quizzing specialists. I never no. I never know where you're going to introduce me or i have to introduce myself. Stand you're gonna be on your game to be married to me. Say about that. Something anyway or antidepressants. Which we take your pick. And i don't know if that's news to anybody you know we're going to we're gonna take the digital. Did you tell him why you so. So we're such bad employers. I'm gonna be facetious here. We actually have Andy duncan he's massage therapists coming in every other thursday and do chair massages firm employees and enter cells like yourselves and because we were asked to come like a little earlier because of eaten once again throw victims. We're gonna throughout this great volleyball team. Victimized me i didn't finish finish massage damon tasso and brady hall and i want to get reimbursed for that now. I just want to massage. I just wanna give card massage from damon for gift card now. I don't. I don't want massage from either day or oh gosh. Let's that we're we're not going to go down there but we are going to. We're going to a little shameless plug. we are going to do a little shameless plug on this last segment for business and I've been in this business. Like since i was fourteen years old. None pump the clocks turning sixty this year. And it's something. I still am passionate about and i still enjoy it It our industry has changed. You know we. We've been talking about inflation surging and everything's costing more and yes that is true with the exception believe it or not like our labor rates and how we get reimbursed. We that hasn't changed for what five years we've been working on the same labor rate and not to be a whiner but we've been working on the same labor at for the last book least for years and it is challenging because all our costs have gone up employee. Costs have gone up you know. We're we provide health insurance and we do know for that little sarcasm there. Hope you're listening ryan but yeah we we do. We do provide health insurance and paid vacations and time off and things like that. So i guess we're the end of that but with that said to brand new news it just popped up on. Yahoo is raising hourly rates by ten percent across the nation. And that's i guess. Ten percent is going to help a little bit and a little bit better than nothing right but let's get back to our shameless plug forgotten. But it's it's really not. I really wanna talk about I believe that the free market if it's left alone works What you're seeing in my industry ninety nine point nine percent of what we do is paid for by the insurance companies. Because you know it's something we have to have legally not. Everybody does but we forgot to drive a car. Use and i believe in insurance. I absolutely believe insurance. Something we have we need and we should have. I also believe in a good agent and what's happening. Now is the the claims offices of these big insurance companies not the agents. I didn't say the agents but these claims offices are being very heavy handed to steer the customer and they say they don't but they do to these big box stores and they're these big national chains. They only say they don't because it's illegal to leak ratto if it's not ill in the states. It's not illegal there. They they know they do and they say and they just say they do but they say they don't in colorado but they do. But i just want everybody knows. They have choice and one of the reasons that we are on. This radio station is because his local radio station. I believe in local. And i'm not just saying this when i when i look to buy something whatever it is. I look if there is any way humanly possible to buy it from someone local. Even if it costs me more i will buy from that local business and i just want everybody to know that if you've had a claim and you're in an accident very emotional time because oh my god you're second biggest investment or possibly your biggest investment is your vehicle is sitting there and you've never been through this before These big box store body shops that the insurance company's claims office is pushing you to they They're there for the sole benefit. I don't care. And i'll i'll have this argument with anybody. Those shops are there for the benefit of the insurance company. Not for the owner of the card has nothing to do with the quality of repairs They will say things like we may not be able to look at the car right away or will guarantee the work if you go here. They don't guarantee anything. The shop does but we chose out. Article specialist shows out of those programs. Oh my gosh is have been how many years ago have been eleven. Don't police swell. Yeah we've been off those it'd be biblical. You cannot serve two masters right. You're either going to please the owner of the car right or you're going to please the insurance company you cannot do both and i think that there is a i think i have an obligation to work with the owner of the vehicle in good faith which means he's mike or she is my customer and i should work for in good faith on their behalf. Now that means. I should also deal with the insurance company in good faith now. We would hope that that would reciprocate. But you're you're in the office when you hear me on the phone arguing with claims adjusters about what parts can be used and whether this needed to be blended or the problem with that is you're not asking you're asking for them to pay for equality repair to return the vehicle back to pre loss condition period if the shop is not doing that and they're not asking for that and they're not doing the procedures then they're not getting they're not paying to get the vehicle back to pre loss condition which is what they owe under the policy and it's gonna it's you know it's china source in the industry. We just had you know. One of the local chains that was locally-owned bought chain bought up by a big consolidator out of arizona. And so we've just lost and all that money fight local. That money you spent in that shop is goes back to arizona. Doesn't every every dime you spent here stays in our community and it's something our roots run deep here hotoke lesions specialist You can find us. Online may have a website and facebook. And just remember guys. You got a choice. You do not have to go under any circumstances where the insurance company tells you to go. You have a choice and we'd like the opportunity to to help you in your claiming that means. We're not gonna fix your car. That's one of the things you need. Honest honest good advice during very challenging times. It's been fun guys. We're going to run out. Get-back-to-work have been listening to no co- now on thirteen. Ten k of k have a great day..

"A sort of youth ramic objects issues and so forth but obviously which usually eugene torrential in tile making and they made roof tiles on the cont of own house in pool which i've locked in visit. Teachable has amazing of teal blue wave like cold tiles on the roof of the house and they also create a tiles for domestic interiors boffins and so forth but at a time when people were is still largely preowned baltics. People were quite concerned with cleanliness in the home and having a skull clean surface and also in the thirties and forties. That sort of clean aesthetic was fashionable. So she it was just a you know. A two waves leasing the correct point pool poultry. Were making huge amounts of paul and just the very best design to come aboard with them and one of the images that their research certainly of tunnels that she made co portrait and the way that they became so popular whereas i think flexibility of use so tall themselves all queston pool geometric shapes and some of them were with stumped onto the toes a lot of them were screen printed. So it's quite easy to change the color of tiles to mass-produce them quite quickly say they picked one tile. You could arrange them. In any number of ways to create different patterns on rule and a the designs match that the line on the edge of one tall match up with a line on the edge of the other and i became really popular and used in schools and private houses but they really took off the london. Architects use them in schools. Because i've seen his hygiene and quite fun. There's an image therapy which is actually he so apple alexa black and white image and and of the images at the time black and white the colors that the tiles were really quite striking so you could create a relative feature wall often whatever used in entrance holes are in cafeterias stairway where tickle material costa takes knocks. Scoffing said moore and still laugh. The school hasn't been demolished will select and if it is good. Nick united states talk and By some lucrative for outdoor projects and. That's an image that all the Talla in coventry in the main square the shopping centre with a cheeky leg lady godiva at the start of the hour on who lack and for that one of that. There's a hotel behind it. So they were picked off by designer. A really lovely way of saying you know durable to pop of color into this game You know was an inconsiderable low cost but you know a gerbil long-lasting feature other incredibly beautiful. I think an. It's they look really simple. Factually as with anything that looks for example typical away. And there's a lot of thought like you say it's just incredible and so interesting to think that because i had never even considered the whole idea of the The hygiene aspects of tiles. Because when i started beating into picky to For the podcast. And i saw that she had meet these titles. And i'd seen i was like i mean there 'cause i i read somewhere that there was a boom and production post world war two for new housing estates and buildings and airports and expansion and i was like oh but was there there be a lot of titles. But you're so correct. And then when i thought about i was like well. Yes thank you vitally. The entirety of the london underground near office titled Also when i think of old pops and buildings are also titled their facades child and adjust. You won't pasta and you completely. I don't know what's heading in plain sight which thank these. These things are but the skill aspect to sue interesting because they're also so colorful and joyous and just really good fun to have a skill for heads. Yeah absolutely yeah. That's really interesting. You say obviously post war government were very aware owed a lot of people suddenly becoming unemployed on and off the factors that had been used for work. Were redeployed in making materials to satisfy the housing booms. You you mentioned so there Aluminium works where repurpose for making off to making building frames narrow. Some building frames aluminium and it sounds are kotov thing to do really expensive and so forth but it was part of the government for a push to make sure that the manufacturing pulse though had things to make and people were still employed on the building boom on. So that's another. That's another whole subject about ten centuries voting but the thing that with tiles. Is that the the hygienic that gerbil fon you can put any color you like on them. There are lots of different ways thing images on tiles screen printing. Oh you mentioned victorian tall someone the berea early underground and on pubs and so forth. They were similar reasons. hygiene clean. You can wash them. And also you could because of the way they manufacture. It's you could create an sort of culprit callers in branding. If you look at london underground toil on the Earliest underground stations. So some of those on a district. Line say kensington that deep sort of ox blood purple red color and that was just a color that was selected for the outside of cheap station so that they were recognizable but also people could recognize that texture. If you couldn't see it in because the smoke was so bad you know that it was station. The mike marsh Seriously yes that's why. I think they're so that seven during you know everyone's talking skull some tall in the house now that they've chosen for aesthetic reasons call it lot texture and they're were all well. Yeah tales are beautiful. It's so interesting though. Because when i was looking at peggy's design the are sue of its time because they're very rude. They're very design heavy. There's a low of imagery they are. And i feel very much. As time has progressed. People have adopted this of minimal aesthetic entails and it's very old of the each. Have these highly of motive heavy titles bought one of her of vegas design. Projects title wise was a really important event that happened in nineteen fifty one and that was for the festival of britain. Yeah absolutely and i think it's really interesting.

You weren't willing to transfer not way. But and obviously i'm not gonna go for the obvious one but we've talked about nearly mike marsh out. Is i think moscow could do with a new pasture off. Moscow has still has looked such a talented player. I don't think he's a play where he talked about his professionalism or is is work within he conducted so pretty well and does the best it can make. Maybe some reason things have worked out or not be quite interested to know. If you guys always boy why parts is. If that makes sense so you know they solve it hidden around them. Maybe like kind of twenty mark. You know. Eric i appreciate it. Oh absolutely but. I'm glad you're here with me. To tell one of the weirdest cases that has happened in new mexico so crazy But before we go too far. I wanna mention that. This episode episode episode contains themes of domestic violence and murder which may not be suitable for all audiences. I definitely advise listener discretion. Also if you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence. Please call one eight hundred seven nine nine safe at eight hundred seven nine seven to three three to reach the national. Domestic violence hotline. This case is technically a murder case but unfortunately the body of the victim has never been found and it happened about twenty years ago. And if i recall. When i told you that i wanted you to cover this with me. You said that you weren't really that aware of it. Is that right yeah. I didn't really sound familiar to me but seeming did some research. Yes okay cool and i'm gonna be interested to hear your take on some of this insanity as we go through it but a lot of the information that i found researching. This case was in the book. September sacrifice by mike marsh corner Is with him off the record for several hours. He's a amazing guy. He told me that he was one of the only people that ever interviewed david. Parker ray sell crazy and he just knew like he knew about the hollywood video murderers he remembered The story cabin murders. He knew all these things because he covered. He was like an investigative journalist. He worked for channel thirteen and channel. Four yeah he knows his shit and And this case for him he became completely obsessed with it and before anybody even knew about like all the crazy intricacies of in before it even made it to the national stage. He started collecting all these documents. On the case and interviewing people he wrote a book about it. And it's probably one of the most thorough investigations into a case that i've ever read mark corner. The jesus did not correct correct. Mark corner wrote it It's such a thorough book. It's really amazing. The information even had. Icq chat transcripts aol Im chat transcripts and so all of that information is in the book. He talked to anybody that had any connection to these people and highly highly highly recommended and putting a link to the book in my show notes so Support mark support local journalism. He's now independent doing his own thing but Definitely recommend that book and he still called on to this day to You know he's like the holy grail of the information compiled about this case. I would imagine he still called on very frequently when it comes out. He is and he said that he used to be like a computer. Like recall of everything. All the facts of the case was just instant and he said that now that he's been kind of removed from it's not as much in so he's but he still knows a lot he's just being humble And the rest of the References that i used for research are gonna be in the show notes as usual on the morning of september tenth.
