"Time. I was lucky to get a little slow back in those days and I'm always striving towards getting more and more of those from in the future. We're coming up on about a minute and a half before our commercial break here at the bottom of the hour, but I want to ask you one more question about your dad and yourself and being around him. What things do you think you do similar to what your dad did? In other words, how do you emulate him now? And then what things have you branched out and done a little bit differently than what your dad would do? When you know, learn your kind of basic training schedules and basic training techniques from whoever I get. Have a basic same training schedules and training techniques just to schedule you put the horses on and what you do with them from when they first come into the barn and so forth. I think you also kind of branch along and you see that you see so many different ways you might pick up things from your neighbors that you're training alongside or you're like you say you're watching these trainers back here like Brad Cox and Wesley ward and Mike maker and some of the other good trainers that I'm watching and training against here and you actually see some of the things they do maybe spacing the works differently maybe in some cases less works between races or in some cases more works between races and so I think you do venture off the plan a little bit but I'll always have that ingrained in me is basic training regimen, but I've definitely branded off a little bit from other things I've seen and are things I've learned. Talking with trainer Bill mowry here on trainer talk presented by facing tipton. We're going to take a short break when we come back. We'll look back on some of the horses. He has had the privilege to train over the years.

"I guess the mayor is but essential quality. You know if you think that those two are going to win now k now you have to look for okay. Well what can i do in the other races to maybe get this thing to to pay. Well i think the problem is people look at. They think that way and then they're thinking their thought is well. I got spread and catch And i would argue that. A lot of people are doing that. And so to me sequence like this if you do think that there are two layups maybe three layups like maybe it becomes a matter of you actually go kind of narrow and those other legs but just narrow with a price or two or three. Not you know going five and sixty because there's just not five or six big prices in these races. There's just not and so and by the way the other option. Hear me out on this. You can bet elsewhere. You can bet on another card you know we talk about it because it's the fun fun big races of the weekend right. But you know that doesn't mean that you're money needs to be tied up in at all let alone more. If it's not where your opinions are good or you think the sequences good. I mean it could be early on. There's you know there's some lot of first-time starters lightly raced maidens in the first race Same for the second race. You might have a strong feeling or inclination. I one of those third races. A decent siles allow its field with a big favourite on the outside love and thunder. Who's finished second three times in a row as the sub two-to-one favourite. You might think this is a beatable favourite versus later on in the card where you don't think those two big favorites are beatable so maybe the third race starting at double or maybe just a win bed on one of the other horses like there's just you what you need to identify and look at all of these other races because there are other opportunities. That aren't just the ones that everybody's playing you know. And by the way everybody knows all of these horses in the big stakes race to write like your. I know at saratoga as everybody knows most about everything but you know you're not you're not really privy to anything that most people playing are are are not whereas a regular saturday belmont. You might be able to find a little bit of edge somewhere because you may be did a little bit of replay work. But people watch these stakes races on the replays of are hundredfold of just a regular thursday race on like youtube or something like that. So people are aware people know those races people have strong opinions of them. The app alston spa whilst inspire earlier on You know as expected Very chad brown centric. He's been on it insane role and had another nice win saw on it seem like you want a couple on. I didn't watch. I watch roster far win the feature. I did watch that but Yeah he's just been rolling and seems running away with trading town. Mike maker was gonna kind of make a A run at that but not so much. What are we take a quick break. We'll do a one commercial break and we'll get to the jury and then we'll talk more about the saratoga card a little bit later on his friday edition of the jason beam horse racing. Podcast.

"There again need to give connections after the sale but a new york red so happy someone york so is bill. He likes saratoga. I'm sure it'd be back for the number route. Nice that's right that's right. He wondered bernard class summer. That's right let's see. Can you can shoot for that if he wanted. He ran second in the dinner party last year after the summer. So pretty funny. You look at that But you know. He's it a big brown for for big brown. He's gotta be. He's one of brown's a big success stories. One of one of his best. One of his best progeny part of a price. I saw nasha thompson was was tweeting about The new york breads. And and so did dave rennick after some like it. Hot browns win so he adds to his resume and then another claim story Paradise farms and david stocker with the special reserve. So kind of nice you. You spread the winds around with your clients over the weekend worked at will right. Special reserve wins that that maryland sprint. And this was. I thought this was a very difficult race the two handicap. I ended up. You know the two favorites run run one to strike. Power went off favored But you know special reserve. When rad one rad took over you could tell. He wasn't going to be beaten of their broke. Though sharp and i read had a great position off a strike power you know felt very comfortable going down the backside. No just a really nice horse. And i think he's getting better triple digit fake in here hundred buyer for for him and i'm not sure is that let me say. Is that a career-best right. Yeah career-best for buyer. So he's a midshipman gelding. So really you can have some fun. And there's just looking michael a- there's not a lot of that's his nineteenth start as a five year old There's not a lot of mileage on him. No agree yep. He's also he's also one turf. I'm so proud of miguel. And what he's doing and becoming a right hand man to his father who is one of the best schwartzman that you're ever going to meet. You know you sources are impeccably cared for and look fantastic and they are running out of the shoes. Yeah is The the clements are firing and this was actually a this was actually a nice nice value to went off at over eight to lunt pay nineteen bucks. "The not only the game but the horses and you know and it feels like we were getting run into brick walls. The last two weeks since the derby over all of this stuff you know with no commentary on what took place with the facts of the case. Not my place to say that. I'm just saying as a person who loves and respect game in the horses so much. it's just been difficult. Two weeks My phone blowing up with people wanting explanations but they're not really wanting to hear about the game and and what it is so you know. They're getting one representation of well in two weeks time. Here's you know talk with the best and the worst is the best of it here. Is you know a little horse that comes from a small breeding operation. Even the story about how they got the mayor and everything that transpired this you know this horse to win the preakness. And he's trained or who is a hard working deserving you know salt of the earth kind of guy. I saw his way up the ranks to todd pletcher vine and his motion the race and how much it meant and and honestly heartbreaking to that he was so you know obviously upset that his wife and daughter learnt their share the moment with them. But you know this is what is beautiful like the game. This is what everything good about the game and somehow we have to get this message out there better and before bad things happen. Be more proactive. Must react it. People need to see really how beautiful this game is. And it is. I know ever ever be able to tell me. He is not yes is good and bad. And there's bad in every walk of life in every industry never going to be perfect but it's incumbent upon us. It's our responsibility to make it. The best it can be an represented. The best can well said and and that'll be really well received appreciated rich. I it. I i try to distill it exactly those sentiments. I try to distill it into saying being a good steward. That's it let's and you know incumbent on on every bunny rich before before we wrap up haven't had a chance. I haven't even watched the soaring softly yet. So give us a quick summary of what went on with the clermont winner of of the of the story softly saturday not he was good. She was very good. I thought you know she didn't have a great trip. She was kinda hungry for white. Throughout was a little bit keen Not very big philly at all either diminutive But i think she was very good. I question how far ultimately the end of the day. She'll go maybe she'll top out at a bio which is fine if he's a good violent but The team like the seven h really you know suited or well and you know one thing. I've been noticing. And i think people that are playing in wagering all of the horses that spend the winter in patient pay. You gotta pay attention to all of it. You know i. It's a wonderful place to train horses. It's a little bit of a deeper surface. Not as deep as it used to be but still you know more demanding and horses come outta their running. Whether it's not whether it's come on. But i see particularly with the horses. You look back you know. Two or three works back. And they had a steady supply of works from patient park they are. What's the pay attention to And and they all look great and we saw you know the the year that christoph had last year particularly in the summer and now he's got to be secret weapon. Miguel come on you know up in saratoga. You know. I think it's an incredible story. And you know. Have his son. Is you know one of his main assistance. And how well those horses running out of The barn that miguel's overseeing. And you know for me. I watched the grow up. He grew up with my son joey. They've been friends since a little. You know seventy years old running around.

"Ability to make distinct runs two. Maybe even three distinct moves within a race but those are the horses. That can win those kind of racist because there's no big field very good horses so competitive And then of course you know you you have your freaks of the world like a seattle slew who can break slow bull his way to a field and just keep running the entire mile and a quarter. That's very rare very unusual. But you know. Like when i look at ron fowler and in and again having watched the as many times as i have already and continue to watch it I see a horse. It's got multiple moves. He's got the ability to get to hang out and wait and then do it again and that's from edible You got a good buyer figure. I again heikal. I think after we talk about all this and medina spirit as well as the verve. Everything ron bauer is for real. His braces a true race is not like some fluke that have just because they went quick around the front he ran and in. He created his own trip. And i think that's important to you. Know really understand. He created his trip l. and was just ridden. Ridden to a t. And prepared just perfectly so it It all all came together Wins off by by three and a half and really one as he pleased So mardi marnie mcghee made an interesting little note that Two years in a row. Eleven to one and change winners with the skydiver. Last year she was eleven. Seventy two one and rob our eleven eighty to one interesting. you know. it's funny. Because i was having a good day saturday in that race. Kind of blew me up My regrets account was firing on all seven. I again i do not see are coming but he you know going back and looking through it i you know. I just came away with the impression that this is a really nice. Call that This coming out party You know obviously michael mccarthy new orleans that he had a cult that long I found it interesting. How many times are you going to hear in your life where the owner had a talked to train running and kentucky's it no doubt and we're looking forward. I will get john friedkin on this week. We'll talk about the the approach and you know even if he had run At a race in the derby the way that race unfolded and the way the you know. The certainly the splits were it. It wouldn't figure that you know that it might have been for not i. It just feels like this was this was a very well orchestrated In every respect. And i'm looking forward to actually sit talk to us on wednesday about twirling candy and You know this unraced mare kashmir by cowboy cowie product. I brought up cowboy cowboy with with michael because of course he was there when cowboy cal campaign In the dodd blecher born. So there's there's some really nice elements to you know what went on here. Home-bred and smallish Operation with just a couple of broodmares and It very very as i started this morning. You know very satisfying especially under the backdrop. We were dealing with that You know just was. It was a tortured week much. You know what it really was And this you know feels like everything. Good about the game you know we. We've been in the game a long time. We've seen the best of it and seen the worst of it You know. I remember being a kid working at a farm on island And the man that i worked for mr niles Big big show farm but they also had coaching courses. You coaching competitions. And i was working on the coaching side of the barn and other farm and mr niles. Maybe the best source. That i've been around in my life could tell more about a horse's soundness backing them into a harnessed and most people can have an jog up and down the road and he was in his age and he was so excited about the russian foolish pleasure mattress and then of course you know tragedy And i was about ten. And i went to the bar in the next morning not.

"Truly like when i do my homework for for. The fox shows america's eight the races. I watch endless. Amount of replace Because you miss so much if you're just watching the whole race you you have to make a concerted effort. Oh okay. I'm studying. Bauer this trip and then watch the replay with him. I'm going to watch keep me in mind and just watch him. That's how you really can break down the race. It's time consuming but you learn so much and you know. Keep me in mind to me. He's not handy he. He has his gates issues whether it's because he's week behind or so he can't push off the same way you know horses propel themselves. They don't pull themselves. They don't drag themselves along. They push with their hind end. That's why we'll talk about overspending fine. You'll see those horses have tendency to break a little bit slow or not. Be handy not be able to stop and start. Mo- average horses have won running them where i am right the better the horse. The longer that we're on is the cheaper. The horse the shorter that run is now. You're really good. Horses have to have the ability to make two moves or stop and start at least once within the running of race. You're great horses. The horses that can continually stop and start their ballet dancers. They get in the spot in idle in. Wait for the ryder again. And then move again a second time. So you know. I've always contended the derby's one by a horse that can make a long sustained run for a horse that has the.

"Know he he have a big hold one and hold them up. Hold them up and then they still find I i didn't have that knack. I couldn't hold one up for five eighths of a mile and then have them find. They just did didn't on the. I can't explain it You know ramon dominguez And i think flavian pratt's zilk. He could have a hold of a horse not really studying along but you know have him in his hand tablet his hands and then they keep finding underneath them You know. I think it's just like a knack of some. Writers are better than others but all good writers share that one thing in common that they don't get a horses way in p. Progress that they just are able to slide in the gaps and find the spots as you know steadying checking or altering course i mean you watch their race and again i probably watched it at least twenty times now gave a smoother journeys you can kill us and you could you see is when he kicked outside and there was a there was one strider to where you know. Sort of leveling off At the top of the stretch and became apparent that that he was going to inhale tonight bourbon. And then i the when you when you put the split side by side you know you can see the difference uniform for people that and it's funny because i brought this up going in last week You know about the the challenges of explaining in let's say medina spirit getting beat And it it absolutely was a textbook case. Where you you look at what the splits were in the derby. You look at the splits here and i. It's easy to understand that you know the two were vulnerable. Vote midnight bourbon and medina spirit. Were going to be vulnerable to a closer the biggest concern and and it absolutely affected at least the way i was thinking about the race for saturday rich and i don't know how much you got to watch on your obviously on tv doing Doing the the fox show but the racetrack was the inside was trim hale was golden and even into saturday. It did seem to be a little bit little fire as the day was unfolding on saturday but boy it. It was a biased racetrack. Certainly on friday and and a little bit into saturday but he you know even around our having to come off the rail did he saved an immense amount of ground. You know all the way around there before he tipped out. I mean that the classic pimlico trip. Right i mean let's forget. Pregnancy and black eyed susan pimlico special big races but on a daily basis. If you pay attention to pimlico over the years you not the guy chasing three wide around the turn that wins i. It's not it's not conducive to that kind of trip. I mean you have to be much the best you know if you're going to come out around. The world is safe. Ground be patient disciplined. Stay and then hit back. You turn for home so you know. It's not surprising that pimlico would pay play that way and obviously it was a very good surface. You know as belmont it's been. It's been very very fast. I mean we're seeing you know. Twenty five thousand dollar megan's going a mile run forty five and change and continue so no. There's a lot of life You.

"Said the winner was under my radar Didn't really pick up on him and then after the race. When you start looking a little deeper you go you know. Okay this this one. I should have paid more attention to And again watching his stride. I and i've watched that recently. I'll probably twenty times This he's surreal he. He's he's a nice call. I think he's voice that Just to his hat in the ring to have a say about who's going to be the best three zero one all the smoke settles. And there's there's some things about this that are that are pretty unique. J. president is gonna join us in our three and j unearthed a fascinating tidbit As far as we can tell go back to the eighteen eighties to find a horse that won the preakness In there but not making it their first win on dirt. While that's interesting. I i didn't even realize that that that's that's a really cool fact. what you know kind of interesting when you start thinking about horses that are sufficient on all surfaces. He goes back to their balance. They just have such an incredible balanced So mechanics are so good that it. It's not affected by one surface or another where they're able to to replicate their form or whatever you think about john. Henry was not a very big horse and he he was able to run as well on turf. Dirt amine I actually think there's something to that You know bigger horses tend to not be quite as inbalance you know. Just there's more of them.

"We're back. And i i had to go look because i could've sworn that that i had that i had voted for. Cc third as older as older mayor mayor but it was actually something very kind of similar. Now i know. I i thought that because it was valiants that i that i voted third And i did not. I did not vote for for the night visa. I voted montgomery girl. Sarin getty empress valley. It's and valley. It's is of isn't a clip source and that. That's that's why i kind of associated her with with the cc with michael but it was all right and of course those of you that were listening to was it. I think it was last year. That yeah i think it was last year. The asmussen rough me up about So you know when you put these things out there. If you don't think that that people see them they do. What was he mad about that. I didn't i didn't even though. I voted from totally as sprinter i don. I don't think. I had him as a portion of the year finals that he made me laugh which ridley or a year joanna gas rich gorlic lines that you did a good good. I just Just off the phone with with michael mccarthy and we kind of celebrated not just saturday but His career and Really fun conversation. And they a win meg. That was widely hailed for for a variety of reasons And i think it was a satisfying result for a lot of people. Yeah i felt that way. And you know obviously i have You know a a friendship with michael. I mean we've been friends from back when he was working for todd You know. And i'd ride horses for them and Just a an easy to root for 'cause you know how deserving years how hard he works and and and genuinely what a good person he is. he's he's one of those people that is always thinking about other people and how things affect them and he just thoughtful guy and You know it's funny. That kind of flew under my radar watching the race and then watching it over several times. This is very deserving winner. He's not the biggest horse but his stride is mechanics are really all now. I mean he gets more ground than a horse's size should get as far as you know the length of strike I he he was very good winner. Yeah they was impressive. Give a give the overview as as you watched me what And what were your expectations going in. How did you think the race would unfold. What was different about what happened. Then we'll dissect it well you know you had believe. Medina spirit was going to try the same tactic tactics as get in the derby And you know just reading everything leading up to it. It seemed as though he was disappointed with the trip. They saw different trip From me bourbon and derby So you know and actually had interviewed iraq forty left. Pretend moco and you know. He kinda said that they wanted to be forwardly placed and put him in the game so you kind of knew they weren't going to give the spirit too much rope right They were gonna. They're going to be on him. And i thought i read wrote a perfect race. I you know he had plenty of pressure And i.

"To see be more from authentic and I'm just going to run this Apollo thing into the ground even though justifying This group has to be go deep enough. I think foundations going to be important. It's a two year old fair enough fair enough. We're going to actually get tight on time. And I know you WanNa want to get a player to there's there's Frank Angst and Franken for coverage for bloodworks Well definitely talk to frank over the next three days What do you plan this weekend when he got Well I'll lightning round. Pick three that and in the SAM. F Davis I really like flame. Debbie and Santos race. Nine grand motion Just left left with too much to do a wide trip and the DEM oiseaux gets comeback to between or distance here. has some speed and and I like the switch to John Velazquez just looking at the losses on her page seemed like jockeys really never wanted to make a move with her outside all the time she has some speed to us. Here is the shortest distance. So at nine to to blame Debbie in the Sun Coast Also at nine two in the Tampa Bay Hamry for Mike Maker who is Having quite the winter So we'll we'll go with Mike. Yeah Do Alpha got it done two weeks ago. I think embry We'll have some pace of clothes into In the Tampa Bay and then Sam f Davis. We'll see how much they bet independent independent Paul But we also coming out of That New York weekend This one in the male counterparts rhames in Just was never getting shot the way that race unfolded another one. WHO GETS to cut back to Shorter distance from the nine furlongs in December and With the Rail I would look at ten independence hall. Yeah Fair enough And I I was surprised when I sat down and looked at this On Thursday night and a fairly unabashed trauma fan and been friendly with Mike for a long time on and it Kinda rooting here For the source but this is not If there was the consideration or people thought that this was just going to be a set of tomato cans. It's not and now. And then there's the whole Premier Star pace scenario. There's nobody to run with him early period unless somebody is aggressively ridden our our man. Gus Pick so we talked about earlier. Okay he he did my podcast and it was great to finally meet them in person and I mean he made good cases this format and it all comes down to what they had on independence hall. I agree with you when they targeted this race. So you know. I guess it wouldn't be three year old debut but you know basically. The meat of the season starts here and So good five. He'll be one to ten and then the field came out and say. Wait a minute here. These.

"And a half and and we know he likes being over there at belmont so <hes> that'll be not this weekend but next yeah well and the the third leg after having won the belmont derby coming back to valmont <hes> the opportunity to split decisions i suppose <hes> with the carol back <hes> certainly and and when it came to when it came to assignments with the variety of trainers <hes> <hes> because it is interesting that you know wars like this that was very much a a you know ultimately you had to mm feel that henley's joy that is most likely future was going to be on grass to go to mike maker who was so proficient on that front front. What's your what's your decision making process on on on trainer assignments yeah. That's another thing you know. I get that it's not an exact doc science. I you know <hes> might to <hes> you know steve. Steve johnson has the majority of our horses and and and tur- forces <hes> <hes> you know it's like like right or some times get tagged being speed writer turk writer <hes> both mike maker and steve as me sooner exceptional trainers <hes> and you know i try to have you know some diversification just to spread things out a little bit and <hes> clearly mike has had had endless numbers of kittens joys. <hes> you know in his portfolio so it wasn't like that was a tricky decision. They're not that that the horse the horse could be doing just as well say in in steve's barn but <hes> i it was it was just <hes> a- a- an in the moment well this makes a lot of sense you know we'll send this one over to mike. Get him going there. <hes> you know but we have good programs working in in both of those situations and it's not like one or the other can only train this type of war. It doesn't really come down to that in any way shape or form. It's more just <hes> you know kind of a geography thing and a timing thing well. <hes> everything that you've been doing as is working <hes> well. Maybe not obviously not every single purchase <hes> and every <hes> <hes> candidate pans out to the extent that that these two who are and snapper and <hes> and so forth but <hes> outstanding an outstanding strike rate obviously jeff and you continued success <hes> who's the two year old gives the two year olds that have got you guys excited <hes> as the fall approaches we've got i got a few <hes>..

Streamer Ninja Jumps From Twitch To Mixer

"Streamer ninja has has switched sides and was picked up a sign a contract with microsoft's mixer streaming service and has left twitch. Well huge now that everybody has. I've heard of mixer. I should say i you've been on mixer forever and i don't have objectivity here. I have a dog in this race. I have been working working on a project at mixer for months now with other ocean with mike makers game studio to be clear. You're with other ocean mcmichael. Who's been a guest on this podcast cast and who worked with the guys on the starrewards project. This is something you guys have now. Tank ball project tank ball. It's a remote controlled soccer between with real real robots that you control remotely and it is exclusive to the mixers exactly so yeah you can go on there. You can drive a robots around and play soccer and less but so i it's been funny to me because because nobody really knows about mixer and now everybody knows about store on the app store until mixer ninja moved over there he announced he was going to do it and then like a couple days later he did his first stream lollapalooza in he ended up with a million views he had like so the story. That's it's sort of been happening. As ninja stream count on twitch has been going down pretty steadily. He's not the top streamer he wasn't the top streamer on twitch when he left the numbers just by the sheer number of concurrent views and stuff so he had been declining for a while and people associate that with some declines in view related related to fortnight but i think the the world cup has let's say reenergized a fortnight viewing crowd but when he came over to mixer are offered free one-month sub i think it might be free two months up now to ninja and like his stream numbers were up like forty k. during the lollapalooza stream and and i was watching it was it was fun. Question was it's about talent versus platform right where people are gonna follow him over over and download a new app and watch a new service. Essentially you know in the old terms. It's quite different than switching t._v. Channels while the p._c. This is the same thing same thing but some people have you talked about video games. Yeah right people are sometimes very tied to their platforms. We're talking about steam versus epic game game store for example because that's where money's tight into an some extent. That's where people who are subscribe to twitch either via the amazon prime subscription or who actually pay per month are monetarily tied to to to the platform. I think that's an a non trivial thing the fact that a lot of people have amazon prime so they have free suburbs cbs when you go over to mixer like yeah.

"Street sets out of the AP Andy mayors, really, you know, really is bread is MS breath ago longer. And he's been you know, he's been picking off a lot of low hanging fruit. Running in in listed stakes and some of those spots well placed, but this is a great three and. Past accents. And breaking lucky. Again. Here's another example there were horses that were making up ground late. They weren't. Nobody nobody came on the main track two to pass win. But. Breaking lucky did did stock and fellowship to fellowship actually loomed. At one point Peter yellow absolutely took note of Kennie decker the the Fred Bri. Fellowship hard hitter. Now six ended up third near could effort, and he's approaching he's going to he's going to end up a millionaire. Fellowship. Up over eight hundred thousand probably with that. Now, a little less, right? Yeah. Seven seven seventy five give or take. But he's he's tracking toward a million dollars. Now. Six years old the awesome, of course, Jackson better, and then the other stake. What can you say about Mike maker maker between the McKnight and yesterday the John Conley? Unbelievable. Zulu alpha and solo I'll discuss it with with Johnny just a couple of minutes. But. The. The the power house on these turf. These turf stakes Mike maker, it's really something and go alpha and solo on paper. It looked like the race was coming down to them. And again, this was another part of this is what I'm saying with Johnny. I want to ask because it it. The day was really, you know, ultra form fall to be honest. I we we worked so hard to figure out. You know, who who might be live at a price and know, there's a lot to be said for. You know for just. Taken what's out there? And in this case Zulu alpha soli, oh, they were one two and vying down the stretch, and it was the rat. And. Jose. And they ding Dong it. And it was Zulu alpha prevailing. And this is the Michael way. Runner that John gentlemen, had right? John John had and. Had been claimed we talked to John when he won the sycamore. Then these last couple of starts in Florida makers had the Kalua met bread Street Cry gelding. Hunting horn rain. Well, the trip was the trip wedded up in okay for coolmore hunting horns third here. And of course, magic wand second in the turf race number one though in the Philly sprint dream Pauline. And certainly. For Kieran and for Stonestreet. This was really a a site and a welcome sight. And she's obviously going to be a major part of the filly and mare sprint seen in twenty nineteen Karen McLaughlin joins us. Congratulations. Thanks. Thank you very much. You know, how how bothered were you in the weather turned, and you knew it was going to be a kind of a wet mass at one the sugar swirl under similar conditions, but it's still wants settling. Bad for all everybody at the strana group for putting on such a great card, and then having it rained so much I felt bad for everybody. But they put on still a great show and she obviously handled the wet before. So we weren't that concerned about it. I felt bad for the whole day. Well, look that this group, and you know, here's the champion from last year shamrock rose you had blamed coming back in this spot. It looked like there was going to be the potential may be for blame to to set an easy pace. And that really didn't materialize. The race was run a little bit differently Castellano. Really I thought managed her beautifully. Thinking that half mile Guam with their don't don't. Speed was good. But he did the right thing. And she obviously a special Philly. We've always thought she was a special Phillies Ben on Laki through her whole life on different situations. Broker main Tedi N rising star we brought into Florida and then decided to stop and give her a little time off came back in round great a van and August Acerra toga. She was in the priors of temblor third or fourth. Gotta temperature the day before the race and we had to scratch, and then we wanted to run in the raven..

"And then it went from really from bad to worse. Yeah. I actually did not realize the forecast had turned as much as it did. And I was talking to friend on Friday night. And and they were like, oh, do you think they'll be on the turf tomorrow? And I said on the turf, so what are you talking about? Like, oh know, the weather has turned quite a bit. So I looked at the the forecast, and it was like, oh, jeez. I had no idea it got this bad. So it was a bit surprising. It was a little bit. Like this year's derby. I think where we thought there was gonna be whether at a certain time, and then there was whether a different time. So it really did catch everybody a little bit by surprise. And then it was worse overnight. I think than we expected I guess the effect that it had on the first half of the card was that anybody that expected to make was going to try to make a big move in. What would have been much more competitive runnings of the two turf sprints, and even the I didn't have that opportunity anymore. So I think if anything had kind of it may be pared down the movement on leaderboard that we could have seen. Nobody had what looked like an insurmountable lead. So everybody was sort of there for the. Aching and anybody felt like they could probably in a one or two race move. Make a make a real dent in whatever their deficit was. So I think that was probably the biggest effect that that the weather had. I know that the turps burn itself would have probably been a pretty it was a competitive race more competitive race on turf because we're all the trouble wouldn't have been one to five was stormy liberal in there. But it was likely to be one of those two right? So it wasn't as if anybody in less than but he was making huge actor, huge coal try. I don't think anybody was gonna make fifty thousand dollars in the race. But I think the ladies turf sprint probably had a probably suffered a little bit because of that. And so it just made everybody adjust. What I like about these days is that a lot of people have tendency to just pout about racist being off the tariff, and they don't want to take any opportunity to to change their handicapping or to Rehana cap or figure out you know, what else they could do. And it does give you one of the some of the last opportunities for value in this game do present themselves in races taken off the turf, and I can't say that enough. So if. You feel like you wanna just completely bail on a given card because of the weather take another look and give yourself an opportunity to at least try. The. The race in between the two sprints the maiden race that had the big full field and. We end up with a Bill Mont winter at eighteen dollars and the other Chad Brown, and we'd had a conversation on on trail as it happens about the other Chad the one that was going to be the shorter price Samaranch and anybody that had looked at Mike Welsh's notes in the in the clock report knew that same Meranti was not keeping up with high amplitude as as it happened. And so for me, personally, I that up, you know, playing with a couple of prices, including the ill-fated boy trip wire had a cardiac incident, I felt terrible. And I haven't mentioned this yet, but trip wire for the Ramseys and Mike maker had been working really well and look well spotted for the not that they byu, but for a first time on dirt and. Suffered a cardiac incident and the mid race. Did not make it..

And breeding had a question on Twitter. We were talking about megahertz and trucker Kurt with a. A great question as saying, you know, megahertz still alive, and as far as I know. She is the live. And I believe she's in New York at Peter chasm, MRs caz hill form because he bought her for a very reasonable price forty fifty thousand. I think at a. She was in foal to quality road at the time that she had the quality road. I think Colt. Who? Mike maker is training and the that horse went through the Saratoga New York bred sale the hundred thousand and megahertz had another full. That followed that one. But I haven't there hasn't been one. There wasn't one in twenty eight teen. So there should be a two year old floating around, and we'll we'll try to confirm that. But she only be she'd be twenty now. Megahertz and. Far as we know she's here in New York somewhere that or at castle. So we'll find out. Good question. Right..
