"After Columbus. I don't know how I was gonna happen. I don't know if we should do it. Buster opted out a lot of the stars of the game Baseball looks like and we don't want to jinx. Um but there three weeks away, and if they can finish up the regular season, would they go into a double bubble? So what? This is a lesson to us all is If you're diligent about your behavior, and you take it seriously and respect other people, and you're not gonna have the volume of testing. The athletes have been in the league staff because they have so much money. I'd have enough testing to test people that need to be tested. We could have handled this situation as a nation. So much better, like other nations did. And I maybe we were just with all we're all Americans are not gonna keep baseball players locked up. Well, for a little while there there was some outbreaks. Who knows why it happened. But you got to say John Baseball pulled its act together. And they're three weeks away from heading the finish line of the regular season. Then the big money rolls in and they'll go, maybe double bubble, but I Baseball did it. I will see what football does and you know basketball on any show in a different way, but baseball's so far. Although it was really bumpy for a while there It looks like they're going to pull this off. And look, the first weekend really was the scariest one. I think what really happened? I could be wrong. But the examples that had been set think this is why the NFL has a chance to is. I think everybody has realized that look if you break protocol Something could really happen and then, especially with NFL players, because they're getting full boat right now, So for them where some of the baseball players were probably frustrated, someone you know, obviously they they opted out. But You know, as long as everybody can play by the rules, and they could potentially do this thing. You're going to get paid your full amount of money into me. That's always the motivation. I want to get a full boat. I want to get all my money. I don't want somebody screwing up and it seems like at least from a 40 Niners perspective. I don't know how mature all the other teams are across the Across the NFL, but you know they've got something to play for here, and they seem like they're holding everybody accountable. We've got enough veterans on the team. Hopefully, the NFL is like that, because let's be honest, Something's gonna happen. But it seems like in baseball when it did guys kind of the broke protocol like with with Miami, right, so that's that's when it happened. If they if they stick to what they're supposed to be doing, it should work. It's a lesson to us all. I mean, if you just wear a mask, and there was mixed messaging on that forever, and some segments that still are If this were a mask, and you're just you're just, you know, use common sense Where, like, If you have the flu, and I don't want to give it to you. If I back enough away and I have a mask on we should be fine. And sometimes, especially in the NFL. I think we overdo it. A little bit of some of it is just redundant. If I have a mask on and I'm back, and I'm like trying to talk to somebody of practice, it beeps incessantly and it's fine. But you rather air on that side of it, but I think some of it Is a little redundant, but you've got to be. You've got to be diligent Ice wishes, a society We were able to, you know, we would be in a much better situation is a nation and we actually would be allowing fans to come back and earlier, But we're not quite there yet, But I think this Fred Warner thing is concerned. I see the best player. By far in the NFL that as a question mark on whether or not he's going to be able to play because of covert 19 0. Yeah, I don't know that there's another player is there that I think there's another set of lime and one other guy. To pick situation here is your mike linebacker. So we'll find out more tomorrow and hopefully pass a few tests consecutively and get back out there. But you know, he took him for a week, eight days and he starts and come back. S so that's going to be big news tomorrow. Obviously, when we start the show when they get on the field for install day you need you need your signal caller Mike linebacker to play problem. London can be our AM and FM San Francisco, the sports leader. Let's get you the four big pieces of sound today in today's foreplay. Time for some foreplay with Papa Henry. Four chunks of audio that really get you going. I have a gift and I am trying to not be selfish about it, but to use it. On KNBR one for.

"Forty catches seventy eight forty eight with eighty read. The fifty four four catches with andy reid when he was with him in philadelphia. Yeah and i look at the two running backs in a listen. I realize i'm not an NFL scout but here's what i see like leshan now sean mccoy's vision you could tell is just another level than most running backs. I i think that's what separates talked about. You know his diet in the weeds. We treats it's his body now. He's playing smarter football. You know it. It's using the vision you'll mark used to be the king of that it. His age is the way that he would tackle the way turn his body sideways ways it not take the direct hits but he played smart football with the use of his body and his vision and i think you see a little bit of shawn mccoy yeah but a and even without tyreek hill in the next few weeks because it's going to be out i think the speed of that sheaves even without hill for a few weeks we'll just is open things up for him in the backfield and you look at the statistics today thirteen carries for damian williams for twenty six yards and touchdown ten carries for shady for eighty one yards. This is a guy who point average point one average between them. He hasn't been here all of training camp. You know he missed the preseason with the chiefs. He didn't have that edge. He comes in. He probably knew what ian rapoport reported on the pre-game fifteen or twenty place so that's what he kinda probably learned and then ten carries for eighty one yards like to me i understandings thirty one but it just feels like if you just look at the numbers that maybe he should be start and should get more opportunity any probably will as we progress and don't forget the dni elder inactive. The dave guineas been that injury. We talked a lot about the second tied in you know in training camp who is going to be that we saw some blake bill. I think the biggest surprise to reggie ragland oakland inactive huge and again. We're talking about a guy that was great in three or four system in alabama drafted to be in a three four system buffalo rich ryan gets fired. They switched to a four three that she's taking implementing the three four housing adjusted for three rd. Mike linebacker will ambassador to say he could move all over the place but again rattling is one of the guys getting a lot of attention friday at training camp a lot you know he was the one holding press conference a press compete. We're talking to him and that was enacted today. He even had a media circle on friday. Hi de yeah. That's what i'm trying to think that this was news to him. I don't i don't think he walked into the day thinking that he was going to be an active or <hes>. Maybe the coaching staff grabbed them on friday to let them know they usually come up with their forty-six rotman rosser pretty early but you just wonder how he fits here and if he does evaluate we're talking on the pre gameshow if he does have value..

"Welcome back to the program. We were glad you are here and Larry is up next. Larry you're on the air. Go right ahead. Larry apparently, not answering the bell. So we'll just move on. Larry's veteran the show knows how it works. Jack is up next. Hey, jack. A poll finds for taking my call. Thank you. We should a quick thing on Nick savings recruiting and losing Justin Ross the Clinton. How many of Alabama's five store kids over the last? I'll know was fit five years have actually come from the state of Alabama. It is not a high number is not a number is is barely in single digits. I mean, I it's like the old days where you with coach Brian where you won. You're you know, you you you you held serve at home. I to be Nick Sabin doesn't care where you come from that. Exactly. Right. And nobody's calling for other people's jobs or saying that they're losing their grip on recruiting because album assigns three or four or five star kids from Texas or four star kids from Florida and whatnot. I mean my getting well, it's only an issue because Justin's from Alabama. Isn't that funny though? I mean, my business now listen how Bama wanted him. And it just so happened that he was one of the stars of the game. But that's a sidelight story. And. And he really is a good player. But. Not like Alabama doesn't ever Cevers. Georgia's got really brother to assure. You know, I thought about a minds. Nobody has a set of receivers like Alabama. No, you're an and that that concerns me a little bit actually for next year. You know, when those guys were gone, we we better be doing in some serious town on that wide receiver position. Yeah, we got a few going on back fact or my big concerns, but maybe time rela Bama star winning on defense again with with that game with the Clemson game. You know, we don't have and had had since CJ Moseley lift really stood middle linebacker, Mike linebacker. Yeah. You know? And that's something. We've got a couple of guys coming in the signed in December. But we've got a couple of guys coming in that can hopefully he'll bolster that position. Because that's something. Knicks even been known for man, if you go back years and years. You know, starting with the Rwandan mclain, you know, and coming forward. I mean, don't they aren't our long McClay. Just unbelievable. I'm back. Then we didn't have what do we hear all your Jack doesn't matter. What Alabama has on defense? Offense is so good. Well that didn't work in that final game. Bill is in Delaware. Go right ahead. Bill. Are you don't pay? We're doing great. It's like to say something about that. Jalen hurts. You know? I think Alabama fans oughta root for him every game you play the less. They're playing for Alabama having any rough. And they're gotta give it out to his parents. I mean, they done an excellent job at that young, man. And I'll tell you people wanna look at role models and sports there's relates to look for because you know, nobody I don't think there's a lot of people could have done what he done has to be in, you know, distorted for two years, and then, you know, sitting on the sidelines, and and he just it, you know, great. So, you know, I just wanted to say that, you know, I think you know. He was very good young, man. And you know, they would have been proud that. He was at Alabama. Thank you very much. Great to hear from you Calvin is in Louisiana. Hello calvin. Yes, sir. I'm a big time LSU fan. But I'm just so tired of hearing all these people going against even. I'm betcha there give their left on all their right on to have a coach like saving. He's the one of the best college coaches ever. And that's this all I want us to. Mark is up next in Georgia. Hey, mark. Hey, paul. How you doing today? We're doing well. Thank you to congratulate you on another good season. You know, y'all been doing outstanding job? Thank you follow. We'll make a few observations on the university of Alabama. I call the Clemson athletic department this past Monday and talked to one of their assistant coaches and congratulated him on a winning the national championship. I mean with Al I'm Albina fan for life in we have nothing to be ashamed of we..

"Mike linebacker spot doesn't have to take a lot of blocks and just hope that individual comes back soon because he is their best linebacker. He was playing their best linebacker. But at this point, if you if you try to hardy Nickerson there in plain for all the snaps in entrusting responsibilities, align everyone up he still can't do any assignments these tasks to do. Like, you're just basically giving up throwing the talent just trying to make something that doesn't work, and it's just not. It's just not the strategy strategy that they should add informed is really indicative of their approach at linebacker spot. Just in in the entire Marvin Lewis era. Yeah. We'll talk about the future at the position just a second. But you brought somebody up that I think is critical not only to this position. But to the lack of success of the group this year in this is perfect. And you said, maybe. There's some hesitancy there in terms of the his style of play based on. Pasa spins all that stuff. He has for whatever reason blocked me on Twitter. So I haven't been able to see some of it's not the only one hadn't been black. But I the only one. Yeah. I must've said something rubbed in the wrong way at some point or type something that rubbed him the wrong way at some point. So I'm in his doghouse. But a supposedly he kind of said something about you know, there's been some talk about Marshall Janda potentially spitting in his face. There's video out there that I have seen in. It's it's I mean, there's some evidence there, but. I don't see the fire. I don't see the effort. I don't see. I mean, I specifically remember him meeting. The the fridge running back Gus Edwards. I believe it was in the whole last week could've stopped him for basically one yard game. Completely just missed on the tat while he arms on him. But just let him go in the play resulted in a twelve yard game. I down very uncharacteristic from birth of a couple of years ago. Is this a guy who either as isn't healthy isn't fully healthy be is an in shape because he missed part of the season. He missed some conditioning stuff in the summer because I think he was out in missed the first part of the season with suspension. Is he either getting lazy or? The lazy because he got paid or lazy? Because basically, he's just uninspired based on the teams play is it a combination of all the factors is he just not a guy to be relied upon in this defense anymore. I don't think I would ever call Berkeley's -i just because of just kind of who he is in idea believe that he has a work ethic that is at Admira Bill, but the whole thing with Bertha was that we always wanted him to get the message that he was towing the line too much. And we always wanted into dial it back. So we can do the same good things. He's always done. But do it the right way. And it seems like he's just he's just this kind of player this defensive player this linebacker that can only play one speed at if you Tony down a little bit to take away the stuff that will get him fined or suspended, you kinda lose everything else. That was good about perfect in the process. So it almost looked like like what the NFL is done to him rightfully so because he has earned his reputation to a certain extent for all the extra curricular stuff. But it just hasn't hasn't been the positive change that we've expected from him because we all always wanted him earliest me, personally, I always wanted him to change for the better and just kind of progress as a player in essence. But it doesn't seem like at least from the past the four games. He's played this year that he just he just can't be the same. Good linebacker while you know, not doing any the stupid stuff that could get him into trouble in..

"Kevin French. Been waiting a long time to talk to this, man. And we finally got him. Franson. I'm very excited about linebacker for your San Francisco forty Niners just ahead of the Monday night matchup against the New York Giants. Fred Warner joining drew Hoffer. Kevin Franson on kmby are tonight. Fred, how are you, sir? It's a pleasure to talk to you. Hey, man. I'm good. I'm good. It's supposed to be on. Appreciate. What's what's it been like, obviously, you know, rookie year and everything but you go for a Thursday night game to having extended period time off to a Monday night game. Body's gotta feel a little bit better right now. Right. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. I mean when you get a little time off. To recover a little more before the game and get a little extra preparation on the next phone it. So good. Fred, I wanna know really how the NFL game is to you. I mean that I gain that you had against the Minnesota Vikings. You came out like a rockstar yet twelve tackles. I think he had a pass defended yet forced fumble in that game. And I'm looking at your background, you go from high school Mission Hills high school, you get to see I f championship you go over to BYU you play in the point set of bowl game. What's it like for you? As far as pressure goes. Did you feel any of it in that week one game? Actually, I I don't think I felt that much pressure. Honestly, you know, I feel like the coaches and even my teammates, they got me. Well, prepared for that game had nothing to it. You know, I still have my hit goes. But yeah, I feel like you. I went out there doing and was was well rehearsed. You know, people talk about how fast NFL game is, you know, everybody's fast and it moves by like so quickly. But when you when you when you when you know what you're doing no slows down a little bit in starting knows that game. After game starts to slow down a little more UCLA. I'm going to beat my partner to because he he loves the green dot he thinks it's fascinating. The only thing I. Canadian about the green dot after you light someone up, and you're kind of like, you know, you're kinda days, I'm not saying days. But does it sound like Charlie Brown teacher in there? The adults and Charlie Brown. Walk walk walk. No, it's usually not too much. The green dollar cut out. But I I mean to write off the Geico when I when they told me, I was very Mark. And I'll have the Mike and my own thought that was the coolest thing. You gotta you gotta hear about it. When you're going up, you know, how guys and they had the the Mike and they're held the green dot com. Got it. All it was. It was cool Everson analysis like all. Coach in your ear all the time the going. Doing the Nick Mullins. Well, the reason we talk about that friends, and I've debated about it so much is I find the green dot to be very significant when it comes to a football team. That's the that's the guy that's play caller on the defense. And what was it like for you in training camp? And my and like you said when you did get that green dot did you have any trepidation about wearing it. What was it like when when Shanahan told you? Hey, you're going to be our guy. Of course. I mean, one of the green dot so I guess that's really like no complete honor just to be able to be given opportunity. You know, I feel like it does it does. Hold a lot of responsibility. Obviously to get the calls out to the entire defense and make sure everybody lined up for the play. But you know, I feel like it will, you know, prepare even harder than everybody else on the defense. You know, because you are you do hold so much responsibility and sought. Pardon doing that week in week out. Hey going into this Monday night game. You know, you're going up against the back did obviously coming in the same rookie, classes, you you've heard all about them. I'm sure and saquon Barkley what is when you look at him and his game. How much is it different than others that you've played already this year in in in preparation for him. Sure. I mean, he's you said he came in in the same class. Dude is for sure playing well beyond his years. I mean, he he's got the ability, and we we've all been here. You know, you just watch watch a game. You know, you'll you'll see the screen, but if the guy who does ability, you know, be able to catch ball of the backfield and obviously run between the tackles. And he I feel like he tries to make people miss. You know, that's one of his I guess you say is person. But that's the guy that what's gonna keep a close eye on. And make sure that we're wrapping up throughout the game. Mike linebacker for your forty ninth grade. Fred Warner kind enough to join us here tonight dot I like, Mike linebacker rolls off the tongue better. But that green dot I'm telling you. Drew the green dot? Thicker I wanted. I just want a green down the back of my bald head. That's all I. Oh. In your rookie year. I just wanted to ask what what it's like for you to go up against some of the stars in the game. And we we've seen you're up against Aaron Rodgers. I mean, Philip rivers Matthew, Stafford I mean when you were growing up, and you're at Mission Hills whose poster did you have on the wall who did you root? We all know that you love the forty Niners room for forty years. But who'd you, of course. Yeah. Day one. Who was your guy in the NFL that you grew up rooting for man. You know, I feel like no a recent kind of in a high school and college. I was a fan. You know, I like the way he played in a new last couple years plane linebacker, I'll I really like watching Bobby Wagner. I thought he was us linebacker awesome. Oh awesome today. And but yeah, I mean, what what you said about playing against your stars. And watching I at first preseason game was kind of where I was like starstruck. I didn't play that game. Cowboys. And and I've seen you know, that Christ guys do they walk out for the coin toss. And I'm standing there like bad. Don't do the right there. I see him like person, but you know, after after every game of of played against do you start to realize like, you know, the the talent level is very the difference is very small at this level because you know, obviously, this is the highest level of football. And so, you know, the difference is the guys are preparing, you know, and the the detail that goes behind every everything so it's for sure it's still surreal, you know, when I'm online out there. Lambofield again. Away from Aaron Rodgers. I it's crazy to think about now. But you know, in the moment you just play football. Hey, two and seven, and and really you didn't really experience a lot of losing in college. What's it been like, the adjustment der? Because look there is a next game. Right. And you and you're trying to you're trying to win everything as much as you can I get that. And sometimes it doesn't go your way, but keeping the mentality keeping your confidence up as been in a little bit of adjustment for yourself. Yeah. I mean, I'll take I'll take every single loss. Probably just as hard that. You know, regardless of what what the game is. I take I take it super hard maybe harder than most it also does segment couple of days to kind of get over it. But I always gotta keep in the back of my mind life. There is a there's a new game is a new we gotta we gotta make sure I'm not only just working just as hard, but even harder to try, and you know, help him win. I did go through a rough season. My my last year of college this past year. It's going to help me to you know, trying to try and be a leader as much as possible a young guy. But you know, when you lose games so afraid about being a linebacker for the forty Niners in your rookie season. How many times have you heard the name Patrick Willis in Navarro Bowman have you heard that a lot so far this year? And really when you when you think about that position that level on the defense whereas the bar when it comes to the franchise. Yeah. I mean, those guys said it pretty pretty high, obviously. Yeah. When you talk about their names, you mentioned, you know, they're they are legends around here. You know? So obviously is to try and meet that expectation and put that hold a lot of way, you're not, you know, put my way to my shoulders, but you know, I feel like I'm the I'm Bill for it. And I tried to grind every single day to improve to reach that level Sunday and take it one day at a time on. Have you thought about touchdown celebration? Today the moment that you get it. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Okay. Later. It's coming. It's coming. Well. Okay. So one of your teammates toll nerd in cal- Nelson. His dad being a coach for the Ottawa red blacks, I believe that's the team name and challenge Kyle. I was like, hey, dude. You should do what your your dad's Lyman did? And that was score touchdown chug a beer will you do that? Who you chug like a coke or something just something just do something totally out there? See I don't think I could do all day. You know? I'm a I'm a I'm gonna keep a it'll be entertaining. But not. By myself thought team. I course. That's about it. It's about individual. Of course, it is. I mean, that's your celebration. That's how I would be as an athlete. That's why I'm not an athlete. I'm all by myself. I wanna talk to you about the senior bowl. I wanna talk to. I want to ask you how that experience was. And you mentioned that you know, you love von Miller. Play for Vance. Joseph Joseph in senior ball, and you're going to be facing. The Denver Broncos. Have you had a chance to talk to von? I know it's a double barrel question. But how was the senior bowl? And how was that experience for you? I mean talking about actually many dogs play him this later on this year. But the senior bowl was it was great. It was awesome. Actually that was actually the first time. I got through spirit playing inside linebacker against my peers and playing against the players who are obviously played at a high level to be invited to the senior bowl. And in that system, they do run a different kind of defense. And obviously what we wrote here. But it'd be getting that experience and being put that on tape. So teams could then see like, okay. Yeah. He woke up playing inside the boxes and doing those things that that's required album. So. For me just in that in that a little drop. Do you play against some pretty good quarterbacks through your career just doesn't whether it's college or not? But it's totally different. Now. Who's that guy does far that it like you've gone out? There is it is it Aaron Rodgers and gone damn. That's Aaron Rodgers. I'm pick this guy off. I mean. Yeah. I feel like there's there's always a dude every week who, you know. Obviously, I grew up watching and I'm impressed by. Yeah. I mean playing on on Monday night against against special. I will say is there somebody that you really wanna play against. More really wanna play against. Eli. We're not another name another name. Not sure I mean, obviously follow Dale to play against Tom Brady. And basically that'd be very pretty out. We don't we don't got them circle on the schedule this year. What about Tom would you would you would you get them? Yeah. He he he's a I'm actually not surprised by what are you doing? No know, they haven't play frigging. Quarterback that means he would come across the middle against you hours. That'd be that'd be quiet. But you know, I love that dude to death. And I'm I'm extremely happy about what he's doing. Now, they're how playing so is he on your fantasy team? Franson, I know. Fancy.

"Because I wasn't exactly fan of the pig to me on his, but he didn't look good and we to was. Gene to see him Robbo saquon Barkley neocon field. I mean, we saw for San how did with that was so we're I, he does have room to grow getting off blogs, you like to see more that it wasn't cursing. What he did on Sunday. I think that you know this year more than any in recent memory. I don't worry as much about this linebacker core. If Sean Lee does have to miss a little bit of time, I think they have enough depth and the have enough top and talent. Now Wilson playing really well and late and Vander Esch isn't a huge, huge drop oil. And another thing that doesn't bother me as much leaving out is he hasn't played well in the first two weeks, and the defense is still been good. That's secondary's phenomenal. And the the defensive line is getting to the quarterback, so I don't really worry about him missing time it. We're not even really talking about not Thomas who came over from Green Bay in the offseason who I think initially they brought in to be Sean lease replacement in these situations. You know, I think that they were hoping. And again, this totally be wrong, kinda just reading through the lease talking to some people. I think they were hoping that late Vandross would come in a great for camp. Have a great queasy that not yet injured and he might be you're starting Mike linebacker, and then you'd move Jalen Smith's at the Sam. Allow them to rush the passer often play on the field in certain packages, but those rules kind of flipped. I think because of how good Jalen sniff was, and obviously vanish suffered the injury didn't allow out practice time, but I think initially they kind of thought Joe Thomas would be the next man up Sean Lee. And then they started seeing some things from Layton Vandereycken wanted to get that first round pick on the field, but real quick. Let's go on the Seattle Seahawks injury report. We're not going to go through the whole thing, but I did want you to highlight some of the notable absences from the Seahawks practice on Friday, kinda give some decisions on what they're looking like. A lot of their starters were banged up a little bit in even some of their key contributors for also banged up. Go ahead and talk about some of the Seahawks who may or may not play this weekend for the Seattle. Yeah, let me get my producer to pull that up for me wrote quick. Producer the producer has. To thursday. Shania location. I have not seen the the Friday updated lists right now, but my is looking at right now. He should have. I know. I know one of the big ones is just in Brit the starting center for Seattle. He had a, it was a shoulder injury that you know the the, the word I got is it's not looking good. He might be anytime decision, but you know, he was questionable closer to be doubtful, questionable, Ethan posted who's back up. He former LSU office alignment. He was also banged up. He was also questionable k. Jay. Wright was another linebacker that was questionable that they don't think he's gonna play again. I haven't seen the whole practice report today, but the word I kinda got is doesn't look like HR rights gonna play. It looks like Bobby Wagner would be back from his injury that's been keeping him out in week two limited him in week one. So they'll be getting some guys back, but it also sounds like the offense align is already. Weakness is going to be banged up, and then another really good linebacker cage. Eight right. "mike linebacker" Discussed on The College Draft with Ross Tucker

"All right, Fran here we go week three college football, what's the? The marquee match up in your mind this. This is a fun one in the. There's actually a couple of good ones in the SEC, but the one that I'm going to be paying close attention to we'll be LSU at Auburn. Yeah, it's three thirty game on CBS and I'm gonna have my eyes on the trenches here you look at the the LSU offense of line. I'm a big fan of the left guard Garrett Brumfield I think you're these, this guy. I gonna want you to watch Ross this six, three, three hundred pounds heavy-handed kid. Really strong struggle. Really tough to get off of them. Once he engages strong anchor, he's got a good demeanor in terms of playing in the run game athletically. I think there are some limitations. I don't know that he's got the the best feet and lateral movement, but certainly good enough to be a starter in the NFL from what I seen. He's only got started guard. So. Positional versatility may be a question Mark as well. But Garrett Brumfield is one of my favorite into your linemen that I've studied so far and he's gonna have a big test this week. This this Auburn, defensive line is very talented inside. They've got Dirk town to junior Dante Russell's are very disruptive interior senior players. Well, and then Marlon Davidson off the right edge for Auburn, a six, three, two hundred eighty pound kid who can light up inside and outside. So garett Brumfield the rest of that LSU offense of line good test for them in this game, Joe borough, the quarterback as a junior transfer from Ohio State. He's six four. He's over two hundred fifteen pounds. He's had a pretty good season so far. And it looks like one of the better quarterbacks we've seen for the by Bengals over the last decade or so. He looks, he's throwing the ball. Well, he's making some plays with his feet. I think that he's got the ability to challenge this Auburn defense in ways that other LSU quarterbacks haven't in recent years. So keep an eye on Joe borough who still has another two years of eligibility and also. One of my favorite senior tight ends in this class as foster Moreau from LSU, not going to be known as a pass catcher, but really just ten nations. Blocker really technically sound. Looks like an extra of Lyman out there in terms of his technique, but he's, he gets after the run game and this Auburn front seven. Now I talked about defensive line. They've got a couple linebackers that love to come down hill and mix it up as well that Mike linebacker, Sean Davis. He shorty squad as kind of throwback player. We'd be talking about him as a day one day to pick if this were ten fifteen years ago. But in today's game, I think Davis wind up being a day, three guy. Darrow Williams though Ross's another senior linebacker who I think has a little bit more in a little bit more juice in terms of his projection. The next level I still think he's probably more of a day three guy, but he's six, two, he's two, thirty, seven. He's got a little bit more athletic than Davis. Does he lines up over the tight end? He can play in space. I think the Dave's a little bit more instinctive and shows a little bit more. From a play recognition standpoint, but both Williams and Davis will come down hill and mix it up in the run game. So look for more to kind of get mixed up with those guys throughout the course of the afternoon. And then when auburn's got the ball, look, we'll look jarred cinema again against nother quality opponent the the junior quarterback from Auburn, six, three, two hundred fifteen pounds. I like his arm town. I like his touch down the field. I just wanna see him process things quicker. And I wanna see develop more natural feel for navigating the pocket, especially when he's under pressure. There are times where I thought, you know, he's bailing out the back door when he didn't need to. He just doesn't refuses to step up into the pocket based off what I watched in years past. So excited to see what he's able to do against another quality defense. Here we saw against Washington in week..

"Now back to the show, let's go to defensive rookie of the year. I think the obvious favourite. The guy chose the chalk pick here is Bradley Chubb? No. Right? Because who's going to double team him right with Miller on the other side. So he'll probably rack up sacks and it could be a candidate to get that elusive, ten sack rookie season by both the did it, but it has often happened. And so if that happens, he'd probably be the police. He's easy. The easy pick. I think I chose the easy guy. So I'm going to give you the opportunity to pick the more difficult decision here. If Bradley Chubb is I guess off the board? Yeah, no. Well, I mean, again, we were doing well. We're doing like a a likely winner in the long shot. So I went with job as a likely winner. Okay. I think that's fair. I think he's the obvious pick, you know, like you said, it is rare for a rookie to pull it off. I think there's been thirty two since nineteen eighty two, so that well one a year, if you get lucky. So you know, just if anyone's gonna get it, it seems like he would be the favourite to get there, but who's your longshot then? So I I went with Denzel ward. I know that's not. He's actually a higher picnic job to some. Controversy, but I think a lot it's going to be asked to this guy on the on the Cleveland defense this year. And you know he's just having been there a couple of their off-season practices. I mean, he just seems to be a guy that has really been impressive. And I think they feel like they can lean on him. So I think it's tougher cornerback to win the award, but it's we're talking long shots, and it's the kind of guy and truthfully, what he's going to have to have a half dozen interceptions to get in the conversation that's impossible to predict. But I think if he does that, then you know any any plays well over all he could be in a position to challenge for it. Yeah, that's the thing is that it's just I think it's tough for guys who aren't pass rushers to win the award just because it's hard to get that kind of production out of a cornerback or out of a safety or even out of a run, stuffing defensive tackle it happens. I mean, people have won the award in the past for sure, but it is difficult to pull up. I went with actually not a guy who wasn't a pass rusher. I went with late and Vander SU like the Cowboys or a team who people see a lot. You know, I think the voters are gonna get plenty of chances to. Watch the Cowboys and national television. I think he's going to show up on tape. I think he's someone who with his lettuces and you're going to see him make big places going to have some highlight reel plays. I think during the season I think he's still pretty raw. So I don't know if the Cowboys are going to help him that quickly. And certainly, you know, you figure John Smith, it'll be some Sean Lee linebacker. So he's gonna have to carve cover roll out in that lineup, and I think he can be three down my backer for them from the very beginning of the season. I think if if he can play in the way he looked last season on tape and the way he looked at the combine with this is what I think he'll be a think you could be a guy who surprises people in terms of how quickly he moves. Yeah, they like a lot shows that their camp, they see him as that Mike linebacker and their defense. But you know, they acknowledged what you do, which is the young guy has to learn. So they're not necessarily going to say, boom, he's starting at that position this year, but he could or could at some point and if he does, yeah, he'll be all over the field. And you mentioned, I mean, they're fired up about Jalen Smith. They still have Sean Lee. They like their defense. It's an interesting thing I came away with Dallas. They have this sort of quiet and genuine confidence about how good they are going to be on defense as opposed to what they usually have, which is like, we'll figure it out..

"Cassidy tire and service rush, medical centers and windy city limousines will play lovey Smith a little bit, later this, hour let's finish up some of the best stuff from our conversation with former, bears defensive coordinator Greg Blache yesterday and he was explaining to us at one point why they decided to play Brian at strong side linebacker instead of middle linebacker at, first and. Then how injury, happened in Tiburon went to him and said okay it's time move the, kid in the middle, here's more, from Greg Blache well when when we went to combine Roman I met him and we kind of challenging because he wasn't, gonna run challenged him and he, came out and ran the next day and he ran very. Fast and I'd seen this big guys cost of the night before and. Then you see that time. You go told. My cat. Lee and dicked around to the hat This guy we'd like to get at that, position if everything kind of works out because I. Think we had love and pick that year I'm not one. Hundred percents eight but it was somewhere in that area but a guy that big that, can run that, fast and had to the system to play free safety return punts we knew we wanted him and actually we did we started off at. The Mike linebacker in the nickel because you felt like we could, take, a guy for free safety put him at. Mike linebacker run game particular. Six, five guy was gonna have problems protect, this late because you got a first round picnic you ruined him you, get hurt, and he's got a knee we won't be sitting here today right and so, we were very very cautious and Dale Lindsey who was a linebacker coach at the time Dale came to suggest and he says let's start him off at Sam We, everything's coming, in from one direction he's got to concentrate, on, right Technogym self from one spot one direction. And easy man and. He played the, the Mike from, the very? First day in a nickel but that's, most past situation right if they do run us a draw it's up you got one guy you don't have all the blackened. Skinny stuff to learn and while, he was planning Sam he learned to, be a mole shipping I'm saying just reach sweep and so now when he made the transition inside it was a lot easier for him because he learned to defend. Himself and take things on credit coached around and Dale Lindsey for putting this package together say hey we got a good. One let's make certain we keep them healthy and, keeping a good one, and don't take this new Mercedes tear it.

"Reggie, White Very amazing across We're here to celebrate, her lacquers career Brian, safety coming out the bears transferred him over to a linebacker stardom at Sam at the strong side ended up switching them into the middle where obviously took. Off when crazy how quick did you know how early did you know when, you, saw him hey this guy might? Be, something special well when when we went to, combine the Roman I met him and we kind of challenging because he wasn't going to run challenged him and he came out and ran the next day and he, ran very fast and I'd seen this big guys the cost of. The night before and then you see that time you go told Marquette Lee and dick. Around the hat This is a guy we'd, like? To get at that position, if everything kind of works, out because I think we had eleven pick. That year not one hundred percents, eight but it was somewhere in. That area but a guy that big. That can run that. Fast and had the flow system to play free safety and return punts we knew we wanted him and actually we did we started off at the Mike. Linebacker in the nickel because belt like we could take a guy for free, safety, put him at Mike linebacker run? Game, sticking six five guy who's gonna have problems, protecting his legs because you got a first round picnic you ruined him you get hurt and he's got a knee we won't be sitting here today right and so, we were very very cautious and Dale Lindsey who was a linebacker. Coach at the time Dale came just and he says let's start him off at Sam We everything's coming from one direction he's, got to concentrate on right, himself from, one spot, one direction and easy man and he played the the Mike from the very first day, in nickel but. That's both past situation right and if they. Do run a draw it's up, you? Got one guy you don't, have all the blackened schemes, and stuff to learn and while he was. Planning Sam he learned to be, a mole she what I'm saying Sweep and so now when he made the, transition, inside was a lot easier for him because he had learned to. Defend himself and take things on credit coached, around Dale? Lindsey for putting this package together say hey we got a good one let's make certain we keep him healthy, and keeping a good one and. Don't take this new, Mercedes tear it yeah so there was some calculated decision making question it was it just oh he's we did you guys look at it and. Say well now he's out of position to, move, or you knew all along. We'll start if you're but we're gonna move don't we, we knew we wanted him. To be a Mike backer in Barry mentor at the time who was, a veteran and he was, a? Good player he wasn't a caliber but, he was, a good player and. We felt like a lot of people make the mistake to. Get replacement and a stick him, in prematurely and all of a. Sudden you gotta disaster If it gets any, now you? Lose that whole first year and he may never be because his big thing was the size and speed so, I think it was a plan. In place and only, thing that happened when Barry got hurt we have two permanent middle a little sooner than I felt comfortable but coach drag came in and he. Looked at me he says move him now As a coach, he says, moved them now Hugo boss Hey, and honestly it was a great assistant because he was reading the rest The horse race horses.
