"Book when the morning shift. Employees of the Crawford's Ville St Burger Chef arrived at work on the morning of Saturday November. Eighteenth they were ignorant of the previous night's events. Local media was still unaware that Jane Daniel Mark and Ruth were missing and speedway police officers were intent on keeping that fact confidential chief Copeland. Can you describe the events that occurred here last night? Sadly the Burger Chef was burgled overnight. But as you can tell the morning crew is here to open up for the day. They've already got us in their way. So I'm sure they'd appreciate it if there weren't any reporters sniffing around two. Were there any employees hurt during the robbery? This is an act investigation in its earliest stages will let the public know of any additional details. Wants their confirmed. Thank you in the early hours. It's unclear just how much the other Burger chef employees were told about the previous night's events. Thank you all for coming in. You're a credit to the Burger Chef family. And then what happened here? Which Jane is it even safe to be here right now? What are we going to do? We're GonNa do what we always do. We're going to wipe down the counters. Clear out the trash and then we're going to greet the lunch rush with big smiles and bigger savings on value meals. Okay please. The Burger Chef team was permitted to resume business as usual and at some point on the afternoon of November Eighteenth speedway police realized. Just how big of a mistake? That was all right. So we've got elway anger out talking to the kids parents. We should focus on the crime scene photos and any prince or evidence that was found right. What's that look on your face for? They cleaned up the restaurant. What the morning. We said they could stay open today. So they cleaned up. Please tell me someone took photos of the restaurant before all that happened. I'm not sure then. Turn this Dang car around and get us back there somehow. Not a single speedway officer thought to take crime scene photos or dust. The restaurant for fingerprints. It was a catastrophic oversight. That may very well be the reason. This case is still unsolved today while other factors were at play the first forty eight hours are the most crucial part of a missing person's investigation by initially assuming the Burger Chef teens had robbed the place themselves in by forgetting to properly document the crime scene. The police had unwittingly botched their own investigation. There's no doubt that they were trying to do their best. But mistakes have consequences. Though officers returned to the cleaned up burger chef to take photos and recreate the crime scene. No notable evidence was found. As news of the four missing. Employees began to spread through town. The police were extra thorough and speedway locals began to phone in tips about what they saw in the early hours of November eighteenth. The first story came in on the afternoon of Saturday. The eighteenth from an unnamed teenage couple who were on an impromptu date on the night of November seventeenth. It was Friday night around eleven thirty air. Maybe a bit earlier. I was picking up this beauty from work to Walker home. We stopped right by Burger Chef. What was your reason for stopping? Well nobody could see us and we hadn't had any alone time lately. What happened next. We hung out on the railroad tracks nearby and these two guys just like walked up. It was freaky. They told us to go home. They said it wasn't safe. To be out late. Because of all the crime and stuff lately. Can you describe the men age clothing? Anything unique old like in their thirties. They had on these raggedy outfits. Oh the one who spoke to his head dark hair and a dark beard and a moustache. He was blowing his nose and a handkerchief at the same time. The other one didn't talk but he was clean shaven and had lighter hair. I think anyway we got out of there and cut through the Burger. Chef flawed. On the way. Did you notice anything in the parking lot? No How oh well. There was a white car parked there. It was so cool. I drive home. Babe you'd look great in that car anyway officer. Does that help it? Does I was wondering? And of course we'll have to get your permission. But how would you feel about being hypnotized? Police took the unusual step of bringing in a sergeant who is familiar with hypnosis to pull memories from the couple's minds between the interview and hypnosis police. Now confirm that. Jane's White Vega was still at Burger chef before it was driven away after midnight. They also had possible suspects in mind to thirty something men in shabby clothes one dark haired and bearded the other. Fair-haired and beardless a man named Michael Greider was also hypnotized after. He called into report. Something he'd seen around the time of the robbery. He was stopped at a red light. In noticed a small car with the windows fogged up. He could just make out the site of a bearded man in the car. Police thought the fogged up windows might indicate frantic behavior within the car like four young adults struggling to break free from captivity. However it doesn't appear that gliders testimony added any more specific details the final set of tips came from people who lived on nearby lupine drive. I saw two cars well. At one was a van with a two tone exterior. They were driving fast which concerned me because they didn't have their lights on. It seemed like the car had some kids in it and I think I heard a scream as they passed them. Both cars stopped suddenly. I think someone got out of the van and walked to the car. Another eyewitness had a slightly different variation on the story. Yeah I saw two cars driving down the street. No lights on. They definitely slowed down as they drove. But I don't know if they ever stopped. Interestingly Ruth Ellen Shelton's family also lived on Lupine but her parents said they hadn't seen or heard any of the activities that their neighbors had reported by the morning of Sunday November twentieth speedway police were still on the lookout for any sign of either the missing Burger Chef team or the two mysterious men who may have been involved with the disappearance. They would soon make a horrifying discovery more than twenty miles away. A couple who will call bill and Ellen own land in the woods near Stones Crossing road in Johnson County Indiana around three fifteen pm. On the afternoon of Sunday November twentieth. They went for a brisk autumn walk across their property. It's so nice out. You'd hardly know it was November. Oh God are you all right bill? Look down in the dirt. Those children are they. Oh please tell me. They're just passed out. I don't think so Hon. Look at this girl shirt. Hit some kind of uniform bill. We should get out of here over there bill. What's happening. There are two more over here a boy and a girl. They're dead to these uniforms. I. I think they're from Burger Chef. It's those teenagers the missing ones on the news. How in the hell did they end up? Here come on. We've got to call the police. Jane Freesheet Ruth Ellen Shelton Mark Fleming's and Daniel Davis were all found dead on the couple's property in rural Johnson County over twenty miles away from the Burger Chef restaurant in speedway the Hager's rushed home to call the Indiana state police. By the night of Sunday November twentieth. The story would transform from a missing persons case to a murder investigation that would last an entire decade. Join US next week. "Through two more years of this lease with them. Although I know space spaces a little bit tight that thing. Are you doing okay on the miles? So far. Yeah. Because I have I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and my lease is up in November. And I was thinking about getting the bigger car with this car, but I love my car, but I might have to bite the bullet. I don't think you're going to get out if you had gone into the sequent ox, even or maybe even with, you know, tax on license down. I'd say you're you'll probably be okay because equinoxes held in value pretty well. And the SUV market is high right now, but going into it upside down that Mitsubishi and coming out two years early. I don't think you're going to lock those numbers at all. But if you what would what would you get her? If you could do something. I was thinking about getting traverse, okay? A bigger instant know stay with the same company or with the with the Jeep. I was going to go with the Durango, but it's the wrinkles the same size as just a little bit larger than the Jeep. So I would do I need to get something a little bit more the third back seat more room between the first one the backseat during goes going to give you more cargo area, which would be nice, but it's not going to give you all that much more backseat Ren, which sounds like what you need for the for the child seat talked to Mike Kaposi. Oh, he's the gerrymander Chevrolet. And if anybody can make it work it'll be him. But I don't want you to get your hopes up that it's going to work on the sequel knocks. Honestly, don't think it will merry Christmas and congratulations on your new editions..

"With a few things while he helps you with straight talk and honest answers. And boy there were some straight black and white answers in the newsletter this week about the continuing trend away from cars and toward crossover SUV's and mid sized pickups. This is all you need to know year-over-year. Jerry says the Toyota camera camera in November was down thirty percent. Meanwhile, the wrath four was up twenty three percent. And the Tacoma was up twenty two percent. That's that's a picture right there and Camry being down in spite of some very aggressive incentives on that Car Toys, really trying to push it. But man, I tell you what. People just aren't buying sedan still if you if you look at it, percentage wise too, low percentage still love sales, and that's why we're seeing Ford and General Motors and a lot of the other say, hey, we're getting out of the car business. I think that's a mistake personally. But hey, what do I know? Right. You know, a lot stock to Tony in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Hello, tony. Welcome to car pro USA. How can I help you? Good morning, Jerry. I'm looking at full size trucks. And I'm interested in Tacoma, Tacoma, the tundra, and I'm kind of on the fence between that and maybe a twenty five hundred Silverado or Sierra. But I'm I'm I'm indifferent. Vehicles. All the time actually asset recovery agent. I repo cars. So I'm I'm very familiar with the creature comforts of vehicles. Both the older ones the newer ones. And I was just at the Elliot car show yesterday. And I was able to sit in all kinds of different trim option models of both of the trucks. And I'm just I'm really on the fence. I don't wanna know where where you stand. Are. You are you using your truck for? Got to you got a record set up for it. Or is this just stretching tation? It would it would be transportation. And I'm and I'm an independent contractor. So if I wanted to put a sneaker lift or something on on a three quarter ton truck. People with an auto loader, but they have sneaker lifts that go that attached to a frame, and they hide right up underneath the bed of the truck. Yes. Interested in something like that. Okay. Interested in something like that. But you know, like, I said, I'm I'm really on the fence. The tundra has a little bit more legroom. In the Sierra does. Both both the back seat and. In the front cabin. But I agree. I just think you know, tundras probably the heaviest heavy duty is that's the word half-ton you can buy. But I think if you are going to put that unit on their I'd definitely go with a three quarter ton just for the payload where you're going to run into problems, I'm freight with severe springs. I think if you if you want to pick up something heavy Republicans say another three quarter ton truck. I think you'd have trouble with the tundra. I think you'll get better fuel economy, you'll get much longer lasting engine with the three quarter ten Chevy GMC in your line of work. If it were me, I would go that direction. I will tell you that. It's a big truck, and it's heavy duty. But it's not a three quarter. Now, would you say gas or diesel diesel for sure? Thanks. Oh for sure. Yeah. For for various reasons, why longevity of engine diesels are designed to go twice as far. I would also tell you that resale value is that gasoline three quarter time is a horrible horrible resale value. I mean, nobody wants to everybody wants the diesels. And you figure that out is when you go shopping for gas three-quarter time, you go to five dealers and find out nobody stocks these things, and that's because they're hard to sell and to go with the today show your spent more up front, but you'll get more than that back on the backside. Tony I've got retailer Chevrolet in Fontana. That is fantastic to my listeners. So if you wanna talk to Mike Kaposi do that. And let's see what he can do for you right now, we go to Diane. Diane, welcome. All right. Otheir? How are you? Diane. I call you in two thousand seventeen that I never was able to buy a car the car that I wanted. Nineteen ninety seven Ford Explorer, and I'm looking to get a certified or two thousand eighteen. Another SUV, but I'm still looking for a forerunner or therapy. And this is going to be my last SUV I buy because I'm in my late sixties, and I do a lot of surrounded. So I need the FEB for carrying a lot of equipment clan. What are you a comparison? Jeopardy and rice and everything between the two. I don't think anything compares to the forerunner as far as longevity. You just can't wear for runner out. And and I think it's going to be a better fit for you. And the reason is it is a truck based SUV. So is your current explore now in twenty eleven explorer went to be a crossover, which means it has car chassis. So they Radan drive very differently. But I'm telling you, Diane a forerunner I've seen him with way over half million miles and never had any issues at all. I think it will last much longer than the Santa Fe. And I think overall you'll be happier with now problem is it's going to cost you more money upfront, but you're going to save that money back over time because of the lack of repairs that you're going to have to do because they're just that good. Okay. Okay. I don't even know how much of Santa Fe car. CPO's, you know, it's gonna be it's gonna be probably. Say you're going to be about five grand more through the same age and similar miles. But I'm promising you this. If if you want a vehicle, that's just gonna be bulletproof. That's the one to get. There's just no question about it. Contest in my mind. I've got two good toy entity was in southern California feel free to reach out either one of them, and yes, I can help with certified vehicles as well. Not always sometimes if Scott, a used vehicle and inventory, and they've had it for a good while they may already have it marked down to the lowest possible price..

"Coming with the Ford ranger now and this week's newsletter. You tell us that the ram brand is coming out with a mid size pickup our refinery going to have enough mid size pickup out there. I think so I'm I'm just waiting for somebody to come out with a small truck because that's what they're gonna kill us. They're going to kill them. If they do. I don't know who that'll be suspect. It'll be a Hyundai or a Kia or you know, some. What I call tier two automaker that making great vehicles. But a lot of their stuff is little Nici. If that's a word and whoever does it. I mean, I think Mitsubishi could do it right now and kill bear with it. Everybody wants to smaller truck, each this midsize trucks mid-size there. They were full-size just five years ago until these trucks have done started getting bigger and taller and longer. And all that. I mean, somebody's gonna get rich if they'll just build a small truck think of the s ten or the ranger Joe in Los Angeles. Welcome to the car pro show. I love your show. Listen to it every Saturday. Thanks, joe. I'm looking at a suburban owner happened for many years, and I was just wondering generally is there a difference between the GMC Chevrolet. You know, there's a there's some subtle differences. Obviously GMC's got it's on look with their big bold grill and more squared off fenders and stuff, but underneath what you see on the outside and some wood grain and things on the inside. There's no difference same transformation same engine. They run down the assembly line side by side. So you know, it just. GMC in just put a review up of this week, the twenty nineteen not much in the way of changes from even from twenty fifteen and I had a. See I had the twenty eighteen suburban for review about two months ago. And that's also at my website. But you know, if it were me. Like Suburbans in nice enough for you. They are cheaper. Now down the road the resale on the on the Yukon will be better, but you pay for that upfront. So it's kind of a wash. Is there any significant difference between the twenty eighteen and the twenty nineteen now things are really good deals under twenty eighteen and not a whole lot of inventory yet on the twenty nineteen. Now the dealers had a lot of eighteen leftover at the end of the model year, which was in August last month. And so all the incentives are on the eighteenth. Because they put it up. They put him on the nineteenth nobody about eighteenth. Right. So there are some smoking deals on the eighteenth, tiles and Suburbans, but there's not enough. There was very few very matter changes tonight team, and that there has been much of a change since two thousand fifteen when they redid the whole thing and went to the fall flat third row seat and the new dash, and and that sort of thing, but I'm with you. I'm a suburban guy from way back my dad, that's what he drove. And I've always enjoyed them. But you're going to get the better deal upfront on. In the suburban if you'll go to my website Joe look under certified dealers retailers Chevrolet bear with me for. I don't know Lonzo even on the air in LA, and and before KNX when we're on a different station. Just fantastic people, family owned and operated business. Mike Kaposi owes the GM different of mine. Great guy. He will probably hook you up with a lady named Danielle. Every time I have a listener in their store and some of these people drive two and three hours to get to retell depending on where they are in southern California. But if you talk to Danielle and Mike, oh my goodness. Not only where you get a great deal. You'll have great experience. I appreciate the call, sir. Good luck to you.
