"I think i'll give you the you'll figure it was But that wasn't because necessarily of our of our professional team that was because of our five hundred volunteers on the ground and and and while it may feel uncomfortable. I what what we figured out was people. Were enjoying it and we're going out. They part of the movement. They took pride in it So i would. I would encourage folks to to actually get involved and help the campaigns directly If you can't help with your time than donate as well the the left spends money pelosi spend fifteen million dollars in the last fifteen million So yeah it's a it's a real problem in california. It's not cheap so we gotta keep gotta keep yeah. It's a it's an expensive media market no doubt and but taking back. The house has got to be you know mission number one absolutely and senate whatever will happen will happen there. It's a little bit tougher but the house is really good. I mean can you talk about how these new maps were adding seats in some republican states. We have the energy. They look like they're going to have some retirements. Feels like two thousand eighteen for them and it feels like the only ten for us correct So lot lots of reasons to have. Hope and i think you said this one of your talks at the is down so cal. Last a couple of weeks ago As doom and gloom last couple months is seemed to have presented us. There's a lot of reasons for hope. And there's a lot of trends right now that are favorable to the republican party. California will lose a seat it will really be dempsey that gets cut So that that is again a harbinger of how how things are are. Trending right The shift from left to right is happening and we have so much momentum right now if we just stay together as a party we stay on message if we if we Stay positive but still be aggressive opposition. We will get these seats back. And i think You know folks like me. Going to other districts to help Some of these challenges win seats back is critical. And i'm committed and we can win back a couple of the orange county seats to effort. We can win back all of them with mc five out of five and reopening. The a lot of these folks are fakers. A lot of the incumbents dams or fakers right people like katie porter. Fake models They don't understand what they're doing The these dams have no idea of of what it means to run a business or what it means to even run a family in california and so we just gotta pull the veil back a little bit and and highlight the fact that they are in fact fakers while i want to thank you for what you're doing for our country and hold the line my pirates single day in dc. I know it's not always easy but You know the the more that we see republicans. Stand up and fight. You know it's a it's it's definitely not easy. It's a sacrifice across the board but it's honestly the biggest honor that someone like me can have. And i'm i'm glad i'm there to represent the twenty fifth district of california and hopefully make a difference for the nation. Here's my prediction. You're gonna win by more than three hundred thirty three votes thousand. I hope so. I don't have enough air. Whatever math they end up drowning right. That's right congressman thank you..

"It's a tragedy what's happened in california so many good people that have left. I know so many people that don't wanna leave. The quality of life is nice still They built their businesses. They have their family there. But the numbers. Just don't make sense and they are starting to see. The quality of life slip sci-fi a lot more homelessness increases in crime Just different set of agenda in california's to be a deep red state as you well know and It's changed dramatically Throughout the years and so Gavin newsom try is being recalled. Right now it looks like the signatures are trend. Doug i think they'll get there. Yeah it's looking. It's looking favourable for me the whole point of supporting the recall was just to get them to allow businesses to get turned back. He's one of these guys. We've got to hit him with a stick before he starts paying attention. And this recall is the is the proverbial stick over the head right now and he's he's realizing it is real and he may be wrinkled. An amazingly now. He's allowing our restaurants to open scoffed. At first he did and he didn't realize how much anger there actually was. And i mean. California has a history of recalling governors and not successful but at least going through the recall. It's very very hard to do. But it's gonna put him through a tough fight. I think and he's up again in two thousand twenty two rat right. Yeah so he might have to survive a recall and run for resurrection right. and that's what. I'm trying to make sure that our our republican party in california needs to focus on on both races. We need to focus on being successful in twenty twenty two The recall efforts need to continue Continuing in earnest and we need to get behind that but we really have to position ourselves better for twenty twenty to make sure that he can't win if that doesn't happen so i think priority number one has to be taking back the house representatives. You totally agree. Obviously being in the minority no fund. They'll only by seven seats. But it feels like it might as well be seventy seats right. Gives it away this house's plane right now yet. Pelosi is You know in reality with with such a a close ratio in in close to equilibrium. A rational speaker would actually make more compromises and we would actually get to Irrational legislative agenda That's just not happening right now. And in and in some ways that's good for us. The shah that the left will overplay their hand totally Pelosi is now beholden to afc and aoc is is effectively the speaker of the house. Right now running the running the agenda in the country in the country So i think the average americans gonna look at this and go. Hey we're done with this doesn't make any sense And i was one of the few. They actually thought we were going to get the house back in this last cycle mccarthy and i were probably the only two that actually thought it was doable so i wasn't surprised by how many seats we got back what. I was surprised of Frankly is is that we didn't get the house back in and we will get it in twenty twenty two no doubt if not before and there are a couple of races shot. Parnell you know that. I think he might run again. In name is at home sean. And we gotta get back that highland park texas seat right near north dallas to get that one back but there were some huge victories. Michelle steel young. Kim beth van dyne at miller meeks by six votes zip.

"And they they were involved knocking on doors making phone calls and all of that helped make difference obviously in your margin so you talk about not letting the rest of the country become california california I i love visiting for the scenery. The weather some of the people Not all the people not other people like me and that's fine but it really is a test case of how to mess up on great state. You probably remember when california was the gem of the country where it was a place of opportunity. You cannot get a u. haul going and that's not that's not a joke. There's a mass exodus right now right. Yeah if you're in phoenix they will pay you to bring a u. haul back to la. They'll give you a u. Haul gift card talk about how california went wrong. Well it starts with people not paying attention right. It starts with a good conservatives like us not paying attention Not only not being active in the current political scene but not raising our kids to to appreciate what's in the constitution to appreciate what conservative values mean in the world and when we fall asleep at the wheel like that for twenty thirty years what happens. Is you end up with a single party. System in one of the largest states with one of the largest. Gdp's in the world Being run by people who don't understand business they don't understand fiscal conservative policy social conservative values And we end up with a state like ours where were despite being the fifth largest gdp in the world as a state we have the highest taxes the highest homeless rate some of the worst infrastructure We we we have a community. We have a bunch of communities that are now bashing our own law enforcement We have neighborhoods in my district. Right now where when the winds get above thirty miles an hour the power turns off and in many of those neighborhoods. The water turns off as well. "Three. That number framed in your off. Exactly we've had pens made Army knives made with rain and it's awesome and so tell us about that race but also tell us why you got into politics. And i'm super interested in. Yeah so i you know. I grew up in southern california. And i didn't grow up with an interest in politics i was. I was observing politics. I was a poly sci major. I dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot. And i had the opportunity to go to the naval academy and become a fighter pilot for the us navy f. eighteens off of aircraft carriers and Went on to serve in combat operations over iraq in two thousand and three and that. That was my goal. That was my dream in life. That was what i focused on. It was my mission I came off of active duty. Oh nine and and rotated into the business sector working for an aerospace company at the time and had a great career. Great job family wife. Beautiful boys and Was really living the dream life And i started to see things happen in california that that that were obviously discouraging but also became friction points for myself personally as a businessman as an investor Someone who's willing to stay in california became harder and harder and then along came Katie hill yeah and she ran for office in our district. California's twenty fifth district Which had been historically conservative for twenty thirty years. You know buck. Mckean was in the seat for roughly twenty two years steve night for four years and then this phenomenon wave called. Katie hill came to town and She won an election that that i just couldn't believe and as a private citizen as a businessman. Someone would no aspirations of getting into politics. I saw that election and i just realized The day after she won her election than i needed to do something. I needed to come off the sidelines We all needed to pay attention a little bit more and for me.

"Is not an easy situation. He has got a divided Congress ahead of him. He has got a divided country. She has 75 million loud, proud Trump voters who have not split from their president yet, and so he is preaching unity, and it is up to him now to condemn the fact that conservative thought is being censored on social media platforms. And in the mainstream news media. It is up to him to try to figure out how to bring us all together. And it's up to him to figure out how to work with Congress and crazy ideas to raise taxes during a pandemic crazy ideas to open up the border during a pandemic when American citizens are suffering. I don't think that's going to do it, so he's got a tough path ahead. Um, you have been very active in California. They said it was the L A times. Now's the time to turn America, California. Lord forbid, I love him happening, though this is what did I say? California's now aver but we California and the rest of the country during this election. The out. The outcome of this election was something that could have been ripped from the pages of any election in California, because it's how Democrats win time and time again. So yeah, the L A Times had an op ed this weekend make make America California again, okay, and they're talking about it. Because of these policies. He's environmental policies. All of this stuff. I thought it was really interesting by the way, said If you notice how Joe Biden handled the Keystone pipeline, right, he says he's going to cancel it and he's going to get challenged in court. I don't even know if that's gonna happen. Canada's gonna have something to say about that. But it's really indicative. Everybody who says Joe Biden is a moderate, he had a choice. He could have sided with the unions who are pro pipeline or he could have sided with the environmentalist. It shows you just where his administration Is heading because he stood with the environmentalists and the far left of his party. Um, I bring up that issue because in California a lot of people talk about the need for a third party. I'm getting this inundated every single day with conservatives who said enough with the jail P We need a third party, The Patriot Party, the Maga party. You said something very sagacious. Very wise in the break. Would you share with us your response to the concept of a third party in America? I My heart loves the idea of a third party. My heart loves the idea of a mag a party because I tell you what I'd be one of the loudest cheerleaders for it. But my brain tells me that if there is a third party, especially That will be competing with the Republican Party in its current configuration. We will never win an election again because Republicans and magazine would be splitting votes all day long, and we've seen proof of it here in California. What the Republican Party needs to do is adopt the popular populist policies. Those threads that ran through the Trump administration. The president Trump has already really shook up the party. In general, we need to keep running with it. President Trump has widened the tent. He's brought in more minorities, different demographics into the Republican tent. He's flipped something he's flipped the dynamic liberals or now the party of the elites. And the Republicans are now the party of the everyday working person. So in the last four years, President Trump has already kind of shook up the bottle a little bit and made the Republican Party different. We need to continue to go down that road, and that's why it's more important than ever that we pressure leadership in the Congress. Yet Mitch McConnell out of his leadership role. Bring in someone new Get get Kevin McCarthy's doing a great job. Help him get that majority back in the House of representatives so that we can Maybe we can make the changes to our own party without throwing it all out, because in California what happens we have a jungle primary and many Republicans. Many defense play never explain Jungle primary. Jungle primary means that whoever the two candidates are they get the most votes go on to the general election. So it's not the highest vote getting Democrat the highest bough getting Republican, it can be to Democrats. To be two Republicans that never happens. It could be a Democrat in a Republican moving into the general and so with that jungle primary system. What we've seen way too often in California, is that multiple Republicans establishment types Trump Republicans. They all get involved, and they all think their way is the best. And then they end up splitting votes and Republicans never even make it into the general election. So we need to be smart. I know what your heart feels My heart feels to be fantastic. Have a maggot party. But that is not smart. It is not going to win any elections because Republicans and Maga need to come together like we did in the last four years. We managed to do it. We had a pretty Strong base. We even got those establishment types to come along to the party. We need to continue to encourage that and fix the Republican Party to make it a useful party for the American people to serve with the American Republican conservative wants because Splitting it up is only going to end up in lost elections and California's of perfect example. Is it not all of this new breed? I think how many women or how many minorities that we did. We elect from California in the last election in my area alone, just in Southern California. We had the first two Asian American females get elected to Congress, both at the same time, Mike Garcia is back in Congress again. David validate how we had many, with many People from the state of California go back into Congress and really break some ceiling. So this new party that is starting to develop in California is recognizing that it's not about the old way. It's not about the establishment stuff they didn't necessarily Embrace President Trump the person because It's California, and he wasn't all that popular in the state. But they took his message. They took that message that appeals to so many people about economic opportunity and making that the forefront of the party. Instead of some of the social issues that I think a lot of Republicans, typically, especially our state of California, got bogged down in and that resulted in lost elections get involved with the stuff that matters to people today. Protecting their religious freedoms, protecting their family law and order and the economy. Let me just shorten that Just one message. Guys listen to her, but just put it down to two words get involved. Thank you, my dear. If, as expected, Kamala Harris becomes the new vice president. That's the governor's call, and there's amazing people in California. We've been so lucky to have incredible women represent us. There was a place that makes history with it. After American woman or Latino and a very Latino state. That's only one person can make that decision and that's going to be gathered Newsome, but I know he'll have a great group of people to pick from, Berger said. He says he believes a Biden presidency will usher in a new era of leadership in the country to deal with the pandemic and improve The U. S economy. Political drama continues in three local congressional races, They're still too close to call. Republicans are now ahead of the Democrats in all three of these races that incumbent Congressman Mike Garcia pulled away a narrow lead over Democrat Kristy Smith in the 25th district seat that's representing the Santa Clarita area. Meanwhile, in Orange County, Republicans, Young Kim and Michelle Steele continue to hold onto slim leads there in the 39th and the 48th district's respectively, with Democrats winning the midterms two years ago. In both of those Races, political analyst Jack Pitney of Claremont McKenna College tells Can IX Latest developments are not really all that surprising. Garcia was always a very strong candidate. That's why he won the special election. Now he was an incumbent. In past elections, the late vote has tended to favor the Democrats. This time is very different. A lot of the vote came in early and it's possible this time. The late vote could trends in the Republican direction, and we should still also point out that mail in ballots postmarked by Election Day can be received as late as November 20th and we'll still be counted. Protesters crying foul over closely watched vote counts rallying outside tabulation centers in Phoenix and Detroit today, responding to the president's claims of widespread voter fraud in the race for the White House. "Kristy Smith is clinging to a thin lead this morning in her bid to unseat Republican Mike Garcia in a rematch for a congressional seat that stretches from the Antelope Valley in Santa Clarita to Ventura County. The latest returns give the Democrat of 51 to 49% lead over Garcia with just 3000 votes separating the two. Smith is hoping to avenge an earlier loss to Garcia in an election to fill the seat of Democrat Katy Hill, who resigned after reports surfaced of an extramarital affair with a staff member. Both parties invested heavily in the race. Meanwhile, Republicans could be on the verge of flipping back a couple of Orange County congressional seats that turned blue in the 2018 midterm elections in the 39th district, which touches Ella County and includes cities like Fullerton in Yorba Linda. Republican Young Kim is ahead of the Democratic incumbent, Gil Cisneros. Meanwhile, in the 48th district, there's a razor thin margin separating company Harley Ruda and OSI Supervisor Michelle Steele. San Diego could be looking at a return to tougher Corona virus restrictions as the county struggles to control an increase in new infections case here. W's Darryl Saxman has that story. San Diego is in the red here of the state's reopening guidelines, but it could soon fall back into the more restrictive purple tear. That's because case rates are currently running above seven per 100,000 residents, according to the San Diego Union Tribune, and that exceeds the state spread tear limits. San Diego County has registered case rates over seven in each of the last three weeks. But it's had those scores adjusted downward to below seven because it's performed more testing per capita than the statewide median. San Diego's case rate keeps going up, though, making it harder for the county to conduct enough testing to stay in the red tear. KCR W's Darryl Sanson reporting. It's 707 on K C. And welcome to the day after the election, and, as was predicted, we still do not have a result in the race for the presidency of the United States. We do know that race is very tight and millions of votes are still to be counted. NPR's national political correspondent, Mara Liasson is with us to explore everything that's happening right now. Amara. Thanks for being here. Happy to be here. Just give us an update. What's the state of play right now? The state of play is that, according to The Associated Press, Joe Biden has 238 electoral votes so far, Donald Trump has 213 you need 270? To win on DH. There are a lot of big, competitive swing states that haven't been called yet. First of all, three Blue Wall States, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania have not been called. Georgia and North Carolina haven't been called, either. We know overnight that Joe Biden won Arizona, that means he has now flipped one of the states that Donald Trump won in 2016. Actually, it's a state that the Democrat hasn't won in a very long time, so he needs Two of the three Blue Wall States, Wisconsin, Michigan or Pennsylvania to win and now Donald Trump would also need two of those three states if he's going to win, so that's where things stand votes are still being counted millions of votes outstanding. All right, so no clear result yet, but nevertheless, both candidates made statements last night. We're going to play a couple clips. Let's start with the president. First. Set this up. What did what did he say? More The president declared victory Falsely. What you're about to hear is not true. But he went on to say that he feels that the election that his his supporters are being disenfranchised. Here's what he said. This is a fraud. On the American public. This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election,.

"That's not what the voters decide to see. I think this is bigger between Biden and Schumer and Pelosi, because that's really that they're the ones the new green deal. They're the ones that Obviously have this double standard in terms of hypocrisy and everything else regarding, you know they haven't done. They didn't do the criminal justice reform bill. They didn't do police reform. They didn't do you know, helping historically back colleges for the longer period of time than this president and with the most money they didn't create record low unemployment in all the years that they've been in Congress, Trump did it. And it's really 125 years when you add it up of unmitigated failure. That's the power that they had any think about our Constitution. Our country expects us to convene, but they don't because it makes Pelosi more powerful. It's exactly what you talk about in your book. This world is on the brink. It's either we're going to live free or we're going to die because what's gonna happen if they vote to continue to have these Democrats in power? You're not learning for your member of Congress because they're giving their vote to Pelosi. So this week we will vote on green new deal we rule. But when they did vote last week about making d C, statehood, um think of every angle what they did in the Senate. Where Tim Scott works so hard to have police reform the Democrats that they could not go forward. Even though they're offered 20 amendments. You know how many amendments that Democrats offered the Republicans? The House zero? Not once. Have you looked at district by district and have you come to a determination? Can Republicans win the house back and keep the Senate The answer is, yes. And you know what? We had a special election in the middle of coded in a Democrat district in L. A California where Democrats outnumber Republicans. Where Hillary Clinton carried the district by a majority, where the Democrats wanted by nine points a year and 1/2 ago, they got the candidate that they wanted in their state. Rep. We got Mike Garcia, first time candidate. First generation American went to the Naval Academy beside a pilot service back in the district. And then they change the election law, they said. All of it has to be by mail. Everybody's going to get a balance. And then right before the election weakened before they said that some people being disenfranchised. They put it in person voting place in the most Democrat area, and you know what? You did lose it by nine points. We did win it by 100 votes. We wanted by 9%. There are 42 other seats that are better for Republicans that Democrats hold today in the seat. Mike Garcia just got sworn into Well, either we get that done now or look, I view this and you're right. I actually sent you over a couple of chapters in the book specifically and I'm glad you had a chance to look at it, and it's out in about 36 days. On going to be out in California. Maybe we'll be able to see out there and everybody read well, because this is it. I mean, we know the history of socialism's failure. We know the founding principles. I go over all of them. We know what the Democrats 20 agenda is. We know what the president has been successful at when we know the mob in the media. They want their on one side. I'm like I'm like an oddball the one of the few out here on radio on DH Fox that actually have opposition voices, and they want to silence us every second of every day. Yep. All right, So I'm going to run. So how so? Where do you get you? "Mike Garcia the businessman and a navy veteran and this rate that kind of an early test of what a competitive election looks like in the midst of the pandemic on paper it looks like a seat that Democrats should easily hold on to it could be held wanted he flipped it in twenty eighteen he won it by nine points president trump lost the district by seven points in twenty sixteen but the interesting cabbie ought to that is that the great and expected to be very close and Republicans might even have an advantage because it's expected to be low turnout would typically use public intend to benefit from that kind of situation there to serve more reliable voters particularly in California but the pandemic is really kind of offended how the campaigns are operating and just really made turned out even that much more uncertain flowers so how was the campaign's adjusted because essentially on on a deal from a traditional standpoint at least they were shut down right under state home orders in California at the rate and the stay at home order actually came about two weeks after the primary on March third so they really didn't have much time to shift into general election mode before it this pandemic really hit us that we've seen that could boost campaign and my current P. a campaign using tactics other campaigns are using across the country the work going virtual essentially think that they're already doing like phone call texting writing postcards but they're just ramping those up as they often get testing like virtual town hall do you need them they had a candidate debate actually over in England which is interesting to watch it is kind of a new a new worlds and it was interesting queue for organizers on the ground there that are kind of the doctor one leader of indivisible group in the district the democratic group that's backing Smith and she told me that they're kind of flying blind that they normally would be walking out knocking on doors block walking and they just have to kind of pick up phone calls and it's a little difficult to get people energized to speak with Bridget Bowman political reporter at CQ roll call her pieces called race to replace Katie hill test tactics of pandemic Politika politicking talk about this a congressional race in California so this somewhat I guess is maybe a preview of what folks campaigns might be like after Labor Day right kind of a November preview right and then how quickly with the cabbie out of we don't know what November is going to look like but if we are seeing any kind of second wave of the virus or if working in situation where people have to stay home this is going to be an interesting look at what those elections look like at this special election is also taking place almost entirely by mail there are few in person voting locations and that all of the voters in the district mail ballot that's another kind of test of how does this work do people who don't usually vote by mail how is the process confusing and for the campaign the specially they have had to do a lot of voter education the theaters have a good cry uncle number of people who do regularly vote by mail okay but still it involves a lot of education of voters of if you did you accidentally throughout your ballot okay here's how you get a new one so it's just that they've had to make a lot of adjustments throughout this well it is a so you point out to sometimes there are delays with things like these in California because your vote is counted as long as it's postmarked on election day which might take a couple more days to process at the rate of California's kind of Victoria for taking a while to count ballots I think if any of the folks who remember from twenty eighteen the mid terms it took weeks in some cases to get results and some of these really competitive races so we might not know election is supposed to take place next week we might not know next week who the winner is but it really all depends on how many people turned in their ballots and how long it would take to count them miss Bridget Bridget Bowman political reporter at CQ roll call twenty minutes an hour from the hour on this morning America's first news coming up next the most efficient way to kill time while waiting for your lottery prize.

"To attack her opponent Mike Garcia for being a fighter pilot she's implying or implied in a in a in a virtual campaign appearance that him being a fighter pilot means he's not qualified to be in Congress let's listen it is what it is did you guys know he's a pilot I had I read she and of course the cloudless White House his endorsements yeah I sent I sent to my team so we we both walked down here to do this work so quite ties and I text my senior night okay he's got pictures of planes behind them I've got a constitutional law books I love the fact of being a tile it gives him experience and knowledge in international affairs what the world were they thinking they work closely with that I will assume they never thought that would become public which shows that they're not very good at she's a first term assemblywoman synching CS yes as she is that she's a lawyer so that's two strikes she I actually am familiar with that district until recently this was a Republican district and there's still a lot of people that both that way but this is not your rich Newport beach Republicans these are a lot of blue collar people a lot of working people their former congressman I believe used to own a sporting goods store that's the kind of businessman you're talking about and they're the cat they're actually the kinds of people who vote for Donald Trump and the idea that you would think someone who was in the military would therefore be a turn off to them makes the person saying that even if you think she's saying that private I'm going to be kind and say ignorant well otherwise he just made it yet because and and the thing that amazes me about that is as I look around the country where I know the districts all right in or at least have an idea in districts like this is where the Democrats took back the house by running former military people what are you doing girl and the answer sheet on well what do you think she was mocking him for which she mocking him for coming from the military she mocking him because she believes that being a pilot is a vocation it's not an academic person out there for no no no no no you're missing it the military or full of mindless automatons who do what they're told and the do you you just don't understand they're somewhere between stupid and deplorable that's what these people believe they really and truly do and I say somebody's going to get mad at that goal we don't all believe that no you don't all believe that but she obviously does and feel comfortable saying at a campaign event it well that's in a funny way let's try that our politics have become simple so polarized that if you only want to hear people on your side you can do that and you could tell that played well with people on her side and if this were a Maxine waters district she could say anything she wanted but this woman is not in the district like that and it's a gift I keep thinking people who do this really do have to be Republican plants you would pay them to do it what do you think is going to happen in that race nothing's gonna win I don't know I don't live in the district and I've never tried to predict where I don't really know anything or I think I really know I don't really know you know what I mean yeah it depends on who's going to vote at the moment I don't see wild enthusiasm on the side of the Democrats it'll depend on who can get out get out the vote organization and frankly Democrats are better than the Republicans about Dr barber stone thank you so much for stopping by always a pleasure always a pleasure John although you need to change your lead and music Johnny don't like the teacher is not good by Darlene well it sounds good let's go ahead and take a look at all the latest headlines seven million days ABC news at two thirty I'm Kevin Trapp governor Gavin Newsom is relaxing some coping nineteen restrictions stores that will be allowed to open with curbside service if they meet other safety requirements include bookstores clothing stores florists and sporting good stores the justice department is dropping the criminal case against president Donald trump's first national security adviser Michael Flynn he was fired in twenty seventeen and pleaded guilty to lying about his contacts with Russia's ambassador to the U. S. trump spoke to reporters at the White House and shared his happiness about the news so I'm very happy for general Flynn he was a a great warrior and he still is a great warrior now in my book is an even greater warrior good day on Wall Street all the major indexes closed up between around one percent and one.
