The office of president of the united states will to the best of my ability preserve protect and defend the constitution of the united states. So help me. God so help him got so help me. Don't help me. i'm mike gaba. Investigative correspondent for yahoo news. I'm dan kleinman editor in chief of yahoo news. And i'm victory the city. A fellow at the brennan center for justice well as reporters. We all love leaks of newsworthy information. And i gotta say this re to propublica is is pretty amazing To see that you know these super billionaires bezos. Musk george soros and others are paying little to no taxes is head-spinning on the other hand. How how did propublica get this information. These it is a violation of federal law for anybody at the i. r. s. two week. Somebody's personal tax returns. Couldn't have been from some sort of hack we don't know about all these are pretty big questions and one reason the treasury department of course is investigating. But you know i gotta think that the takeaway for many people is going to be reading that People like Musk and and basil's go some years where they don't pay anything the reporter in me of course says i don't really care where they got These tax returns from it does not bear in any way to the actual reporting and the and getting this important information out there that is In the public interest as long as it's accurate and the documents are authentic And no one has raised any questions so far as to whether those things are true. We will ask steve engelberg about it but i have to say it was. It was sort of interesting to watch. jen psaki. Talk about this story and kind of walk a very fine line on the one hand having to make the point that It is a serious breach and indeed potentially criminal add to leak these documents. It seems on its face criminal criminal as well as long as it came as long as the documents came from people who had access to the documents inside the government but on the other hand Given the posture of The biden white house and the democratic party right now she also of course had two very strongly. Make the case that These very wealthy americans Are not paying their fair. Share and that is a real problem with our ask code. One of the chief points of this. Is that the kind of tax increases. Biden is proposing nothing to address the issues that republicans laying out here. Yeah because it goes to the the critical issue that the public article raises which is the distinction between income which is taxed and wealth which is not taxed and no one except for some of the furthest left members of the democratic party are proposing wealth taxes. Which is what would actually go to the heart of what propublica uncovers and most most left members of the democratic party. Not as i recall did not win the democratic. No she did not president. But you know this goes to the what is it is the michael kinsley point right than the real scandal is. What's legal right. And there is no suggested here that anything that you know. Warren buffett or jeff bezos or elon. Musk or any of them did was illegal. The problem is with our tax code in our system and You know it is the buffet example is is interesting to me because we all recall A buffet you know has very progressive us on on taxes and i think he wrote a famous op-ed in washington post In in which he said. It is terribly unfair. That some years. I pay less taxes than my secretary. He also was quoted in the story is saying that these revelations are shocking. I don't know how he would be shocked. Because how would he not know is actually benefiting valves little this but i thought his response was interesting because he says well. I'm going to give a lot of money most of my money to charity. When i'm you know before i kick the bucket and You know isn't that It doesn't that address. The concerns people are raising a mature. Does yeah i guess. A lot of americans don't consider paying taxes to the federal government any kind of form of charity. Although it is it is basically the way that people get you know their services and their security and a lot of other important things was but speaking of what is illegal and we know that leaking is illegal and that a pretty serious investigation is about ready to get unleashed on propublica and its potential source. And what's interesting about it. Is that this which is the first test of the biden. Administration's commitment to leak investigations follows up on a series of weeks that we've just had where the extent of the trump department of justice's efforts to investigate leaks or to investigate reporters and journalistic operations has also come to the fore and to seize their phone records. I guess not the contents of their emails but e mail logs Without without letting them know we talked about that with lynn downey And astor we taped that down. We learned that the merrick garland justice department had continued a gag order on the new york times to prevent them from saying anything about what the justice department was doing to try to get its reporters phone records and that raised a lot of eyebrows about You know why. The biden merrick garland justice department would be pursuing aggressively the kind of leak investigation that the bar justice department had initiated. And then we learned. I just in the last couple of days that the merrick garland justice department also as taken up a position to defend donald trump in a defamation case brought by a woman g. carroll who says trump raped her many years ago in the nineteen nineties and trump denied. It attacked her accused her of being a liar and said he could not have raped her because quote. She's not my type and because he did all of this potentially defamatory behavior while he was president of the united states the department of justice has said that they will defend him in this lawsuit. Which is it..

We all night long and to start off a little foreplay action. We WanNa talk kind of Just the costumes. The wear of the Harley Quinn the poison ivy just the Susie the birds of prey of a close make they are. They are the praying birds. They are kind of not nearly as impressive like the magic intimidated. We are the praying birds. Like church. Church Burnings D- Rafters. I am a boy. Blue Hawks Peregrine Zia. I got your other. I think what we're going to be to fashion last time you heard from US. We were talking about the Evolution of the Joker Harley Quinn. A relationship and how they both evolved as characters. We did focus more Harley Quinn and on the panel. We have to my right. Mike Gaba Bigot. That's me yeah I don't have to do shit for this. It's great except me over my shoulder pointing things. I think yeah I think Oh dear. Hey whatever I'll burn down your house next to the left We've got steph Harley Quinn lover and spot on Harley Quinn Impression. Yes that was pretty solid in various remember. We went to a con together. And she walked out the Harley. Quinn cost player. I do hardly across from Arkham asylum and I do appreciate you. Did the full on giant Mallet Cooker was heavy was ready shit though. Actually my husband made that for me as president and made out of PVC spray painted. All that shit is heavy which is lightly definite keep That amount of PVC is heavy saying if it were way heavier. Sorry I'm excited for these episodes. Actually Cooper's where wheelhouse and you're on so that's just like an added fucking bonus but then we've got the purveyor of nights the the host with the most also the showrunner for from the mountains of madness we've got the sexual chocolate. The mulatto matching. Ooh back bringing it back. I always like one award recently from gigs under the influence. Not recently anymore. I don't think it's very real was like three months ago. Then Biz podcast in Richmond. Yeah lowdown himself gotten award that you're supposed to add some some things to did. I. I duNno Brench. Oh Oh yes you did. Yes yes you win. The most improved midget award awarded by. We talked about it a whole lot on the shows didn't know there was a trophy that was found in a legal parking lot from one thousand nine hundred five swim trophy for most improved midget the children's award as what we're calling. It was awarded so we took the trophy and I used the skull ring from the Guy Fieri costume from Halloween and put that is the head town. That's got a spiked bracelets from the costume. Around the base of it. And then it's got Make Richmond Weird sticker on the back and it's our Gui trophy. It's got a joystick. Hold it for a year to talk about the evolution of a costume. I cannot wait to see that in another five years three at this year and I already have three things next to it that I'm about to add to it because the rule is that you can add stuff to it. Whatever you want but you cannot subtract from it so clearly. We'll be able to drive it. Drive it to one nominee. Time didn't cost me a dime improved midget Mr lowdown Brown macgyver. You Sir I manage. Maybe I'll gentlemen known as the Hobbit look but no. It was an honor to get that I was not expecting that and it was It was a who is. This is also the last vapors last year now available for it because you are. You Co run the network with me now so but Technically fell under it because the first six months of twenty nine thousand nine you were not the co runner of the network. Though you really were you just tie wasn't it was silent partner was A. There's nothing silent about this. Very loud and boisterous very vocal berry always will be always will be swallowed by myself. You never have to guess what I'm thinking. No before we can even think catch up so all right. Well thank you guys for that. I haven't thought about it and I WANNA do it because I literally have parts next to it and I'm like I'm going to do to it fitting because that's going to evolve much like the costumes of our favorite heroes villains. We're GONNA look so we we look at the original Harley outfit was like to the neck. Almost nunnery style gesture shots. Damn you know. We're still some curves baby big curtain. It was very tight fitting but there was nothing showing therese's later on it was like it's gotten more revealing. Yes definitely more revealing over time and we're cleavages. School Bureau thing almost came into play with nurse nurse nurse and the colors have changed to. Do you like though also. Is that when it got to be more revealing? I think those new fifty two when she was breaking away from jokers when it started getting more revealing which. I kind of like that. It's not her trying to sell treated held onto. This relationship is more of just like her getting again. Own Bogus thing so Arkham Games. She definitely goes more dominatrix. Even or dark. Have The nurse costume then into the black and like dark makeup. Kinda like crying kind of rain soaked and the red and the mortar rains and then it graduates to being more like shorter tighter more sexual and then new fifty two takes it in so many different directions from like Roller Derby to like suicide squad. You got the red the Blue Pink the blow over the plane and it. Kinda changes from that red and black to that blue and pink. Yeah exactly the the the level of like neon blue to the brightest pink there's equally each other And and that is okay. Can we say this? The one thing they do really go is the suicides movie. I don't know about what birds of prey and suicide squad. I thought the colors Roy Moore Fan of the the black and Red Harley Quinn color spectrum brighter red and black or the darker red and black the darker red and black though the brighter red and black. I'm fine with as well. It's The the light blue and pink like the hair thing I was not a fan of the joker joker putting shows. That's not talking color but I was. I was not a fan colors from the color spectrum. I was as much of a fan of of that reflection of where would the correct the direction that her character is going in also pairing it with the way that they portray the joker to something that parallels. So you had this like fucking party. Girl Gaudy like very much like nouveau riche like Mafia. Yeah Gun.

"We yeah so good so well that is Kinda after we do our introductions of the panel I wanna get into initial thoughts. It's of the new movie because there is definitely a lot of split feelings on whether this was a good movie or bad movie. There's definitely some in the middle feelings about about it as well. I didn't think I would see this because I I went to preview night. I didn't think I would see this the next day but I did I. It's like fucking Shit. I all over again. I don't understand why I you got understand. Where the last Jedi I but I don't really understand what this one why we've got this mortgage board. I think what it's come to that star. Wars fans are like tool fans. We're either you're just like chill really big fan of the music and then it's fine or you're a complete news about it as much as I love tool. I don't don't think I'm in the dish. Bad categories was star wars. Just it's a thing I like. Don't be so overly critical where you're if it's not exactly your vision than you hate it. It's just that's ruining the fandom for yourself. Well we can blame George Lucas for that because he killed all of our childhoods with those stupid fucking prequel. Uh Let's not and this is not. We've done the conversations on the pre we have and I'm just saying is that you know it put it bad. Taste aced into people our age. Who grew up with Star Wars? Okay not the people that grew up with prequels but we grew up with the original trilogy and put did bad taste in our mouth and the new trilogy. j.j Abrams started was a breath of fresh air. True so this is wrapping it up up. I'm in it as well. I'm definitely on the stance the prequels personally. I don't think they are as bad as people say. They ARC mark. I think that was a great way to finally. It starts back into being able to watch new version of Star Wars it reopened the gates for Star Wars fans. And so it was a good introduction. Two Yeah you are right it did open it up to a whole new people like the people that's all when it was you know the same age that we were but they actually got to go to theater to see it so much where i. I didn't get the stadium theater right so the they literally grew up with it from theater at home so did open up to speed. There's kids they're young. That don't know gives them care about the differences that we cared about when they came. Now you know I. That's something I try to keep in mind my nephews. They love the prequels and the original trilogy. The prequels were not made for our generation not the younger generation. Yes supposed to be. It's supposed to be for kids. That's what the original star wars was. Made Kit Kit approachable but it was also there was some deeper our conversations happening within this very simple kind of storyline. And I think that's what was Kinda missing a little bit from the prequels that there wasn't that adult conversation coming interwoven into the a fun adventure movie and that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's just it's a different approach to the series and I I'm not a fan of the prequels but I always have have to remind myself. It's not about me it's that I'm a child in his thirties. It's a fan of this thing so I need to accept that if it's four kids. They like social insights and it had we were lightsabres though. That's okay so let's get into the panel. We're actually continued to write a first timer on the GEEKS under the influence network period But has been has ended at least one of our events in When we were doing the beautiful disasters movie nights at a strange ways The chucky herself bunny is here. Hey I'm happy to finally have you on that you're a big big star wars fan huge To the point where some of the stuff you've done on what is chalky call about talking so I take like popular well known quotes from different PHANTOMS. Like video games TMZ BOOKS MOVIES TV and I straight them in chalk on like chopper paper and chop words and so just Super Geek Central and found a couple of star wars things but needs to do more in in fact speaking of the prequels. The only I've done from well second quote I did from Star Wars was. It's working. It's working and again Skywalker pod racing. I need to revisit his and do some some more star wars quotes from that but yes. Let's pretty much what chucky gives you can do like. I'm half the man. I used to be quite arm. Yeah forces with me from. Oh that's a great quote. I love that movie. So much. Lodged brought up a lot this week with this new movie coming out about favorite new movie. It's my favorite New Star Wars. It's so good. Yeah I was blown away by rogue one and I'm in really having a struggle a conversation on whether or not like rogue one or this new one rises Skywalker more and I'm just so close to having just seen this one. That is a really hard call. And it's a very most stylistically different movie. Yes I mean it. It's a so you're looking at a saga movie versus an offshoot lit up to a saga movie. Right so I'm yeah I'm with you I need to really need need to watch rises Guy Order fewer times for I can solidly say Yup Bennis replaced but like fucking rogue one man who got damn it was amazing is now next on the panel is one of the Co host of beautiful disasters regular panelist here on gigs. Under the influence you know him you love him. Besides socks and sandals habits haired haired groups is here yes yes I I try not to take the socks and sandals out of the House as as wheel new but it's a good joke. I'm fine with stocks. I'm find with patting me on the head for that Through running like what three four five years now at least five year. Yeah the length of this podcast. I think yeah. Yeah Yeah yes. It's good to be here absolutely and definitely on this episode because is when we became friends one of the things we initially bonded on our deep love Star Wars. Yes so it's something that it becomes almost an identity for some people myself. Included -cluded is that this is one of if not my big Fan so absolutely it's it's like ENGRAINED IN MY DNA at this point. And it's one of those things like we. We are of an age that we fell into it at the right time at the right age for it because you know we saw wilmer young like you know the Yankee Bluejeans my wife like she didn't see star Wars until she was in her twenties and she just doesn't feel it didn't feel you've got you've gotta be it's gotTa be when you're young now young thing you see when you're like eight ten whatever and I was like three or four for the first time I mean I do i. I saw return the guy in the theater when I was like you know five years older. So that's when you're knee high to walk EXAC AH yeah. Let's let's finish the really get into my left to my right right. Hand man the sexual chocolate Mr Lowdown Brown macgyver. What is going everyone? Got Ready Skywalker. You immediately sent me a message going going freaking out and mad that I hadn't seen it yet. Because they wanted to Geek with me. Yes yeah so what we do is what we got it. Yeah I mean took the sun and we just blown loan away by it fucking great movie and Yes. He's been my heat so I've been able to see the new trilogy with a young child which has been great seeing it being a a child and then seeing a child like be able to go enjoy a new star wars movie in the theater. You know that's new for them this because it's been another generation right since the since the brick equals you think about it. Yeah I definitely. It's pretty awesome and to my right. who gets all the dry? Jacks all the draft. All the fucking garage is the prevail Easter on the influence network. He also the host of smack my pitch up anyone's trivia in Richmond at one place now but currently one one place. Yeah and he's also got something else in the world. This is Mike Gaba. "He got some brief attention three years ago when he bolted the Republican party to run for vice president on the libertarian party ticket. But now he could get a lot more attention. He's recently announced he set up an exploratory committee to test the waters for a primary challenge to Donald Trump. We recently said is quote simply too unstable to carry out the duties of the highest executive office. How serious well does he have a chance and how is one time top prosecutor does he says the president's legal troubles? We'll talk to him about that. And lots more on this episode of skulduggery. Because people have got to know whether or not their president's. I'm not a crook. I told the American people I did not create arms hostile my heart. And my best intentions still tell me that's true. But the facts and the evidence tell me it is not I did not have sexual relations with that one. There will be no lies. We will honor the American people with the truth and nothing else. I'm Mike Gaba. Chief investigative correspondent for Yahoo news. And I'm Dan CLYDE editor in chief of Yahoo news. You know, it is so interesting to look back at that moment at the end of the Reagan administration when people at the Justice department, actually quit on an issue of conscience and principal. Yeah. I started covering Justice just a few years after that. I remember that that event kind of hung over the department. It was this kind of dramatic thing. And what it said was that, you know, if you politicise the Justice department, or if you acted as general in a way that, you know, without integrity, there were consequences for that. People would actually take action man have times changed because it was always question. The first couple years of the Trump administration all the crazy things that were happening at Justice and this president attacking the Justice department and sessions and rod meanwhile, rod Rosenstein, right? He didn't quit. He he would have had reasons to quit in an act of conscience. Got used by the president to fire Komi, he had serious questions about the president's stability based on all the reports we've gotten in actually even raising the issue of twenty fifth amendment, and he watched the president attack the special counsel, Robert Muller, who he Rosenstein selected and was overseeing and yet rod just the, you know, continued into guess he's stepping down in the next few days. But man, it would be interesting to hear his wimp or not with a bang. Yeah. But hear me on on what Bill weld did. Yeah. And that's why I'm really excited to interview weld on this episode of of the show, he is such an interesting character. And look I mean right now does he have any chance to the years any chance of? Feeding Donald Trump and his primary challenge. Probably not certainly a real long shot, but he's going to be a really interesting candidate out there. And it's funny. I was thinking that maybe within a few weeks. Trump won't have Robert Muller to contend with. Because his report will be out and Muller will shut down, but he may have Bill weld out there. "I'm Mike Gaba. Chief investigative correspondent for Yahoo news. And I'm Dan Kleinman editor in chief of Yahoo news. So this is the big indictment. We've been waiting for for quite some time. We've known that. Roger stone was squarely in Muller's sites Muller and his team had been investigating and calling in everybody around Roger stone. We long thought he was going to be indicted. Now, we've seen the indictment at long last. There's some pretty damning stuff in here about stones tactics is communications Trump campaign officials and his efforts to intimidate a witness who we're going to talk about in a moment has been a frequent skulduggery guest Randy Credito, but as I mentioned in the introduction there. It's not at all clear if stone did have any direct contact with WikiLeaks. In fact, the indictment is completely absent of any EV. Evidence that he did. And that raises the question of where if anywhere Muller goes from here. Yeah. Roger stone is kind of the linchpin in the Muller investigation. At least he would seem to be he sort of at the center of everything he connects all of the disparate strands, the Trump campaign, Julian Assange and WikiLeaks, potentially the Russians he seems like he is the key to solving this whole mystery and also a history and a proclivity for engaging in exactly the kind of skulduggery that we've been talking about on this podcast of the last year, since of course, we know that he was engaging journey tricks. His own words going back to the Nixon administration and yet as you point out. This still is a mystery and Muller has not so far at least in his public pleadings been able to. Necked all the dots. And we don't know where this is going. I I will say one of the things that is so frustrating about all of this is if you look at what Roger stone and the people around him have said publicly what they've put in emails in text messages. They are all but admitting that they have done all of these things that people think that they've done and then they backtrack. So you know, they've all said that they've been in contact with with a Sajjan WikiLeaks at some point then they backtrack from that. They've all made predictions about when these emails were going to be dunked and those predictions were pretty much accurate now, we know in these emails they've taken credit for some of these things which they later denied doing they've been praised for doing them by senior members of the Trump campaign, and yet it's all kind of Meraj. Yeah. You know, you don't know what it adds up to the indictment sites multiple contacts with people in the Trump campaign at least one of them. We know is Steve Bannon because some of his emails with stone have been publicly released before, and it is clear that the Trump campaign was eagerly seeking to find out what Julian Assange had in terms of further material that would be damaging to Hillary Clinton. And this is well after it was pretty well understood that what WikiLeaks had was the fruits of hacking by Russian military intelligence hackers. You know that on its face would seem to raise questions about why the Trump campaign would be so interested in learning about this material and basically deputising stone to find out. Well, one thing is pretty clear is that they would have colluded if they'd had the opportunity, right? And also, I think the Muller indictment says this that stone may not have had direct contact with a sonic, but certainly not for lack. Of trying right. No, no. He was doing everything he could. And that's where then sky Jerome Corsi notorious conspiracy stuff fits in stone was pushing him to find out what Assange might have. But it's worth noting that Coursey you had been threatened with indictment by Muller wasn't charged today in this dight -ment, nor was the guy we're gonna be talking about in a moment. Randy credit co as one more character that I think for people who have not been following this closely as you have probably never heard his name before. But he's in this indictment. So I just think it might be worth talking about him. Just for a second. Who's Ted Malik ten Malik is this one based academe ick. Who was a big Trump supporter at one point was even talked about for a major ambassadorial appointment either as embassador to the court of Saint James or someplace else in Europe, and he was in communication with Coursey Coursey, by the way. So our listeners..

"I'm Mike Gaba. Chief investigative correspondent for Yahoo news. And I'm Dan Kleinman editor in chief of Yahoo news. So the legal pressures on the president seemed to be escalating by the day. I just got back from the court hearing in which Maria Boutin ah, the Russian agent dispatched to influence American politics pled guilty, you know, one more shoe dropping here, but the big one is this plea by or non-prosecution agreement by AM, I the parent company of National Enquirer. Well, right now, as we speak the most kind of perilous legal problem for Donald Trump seems to be that he was involved in this effort to pay off to women. He was involved with with hush money. And according to his former personal lawyer. Michael Cohen he- did it to first of all Cohen made the payments that the direction and in coordination with Donald Trump, and it was done to affect that twenty sixteen election, which would be a campaign violation and a felony. We've talked a lot on this show about whether Donald Trump would be indicted that still seems unlikely, but this is evidence of a clearcut crime and the issue here in terms of the evidence was was there anyone other than Michael Cohen who could make this claim Michael Cohen who is now an admitted liar as the Trump team always says the answer now appears to be yes, David Packer. David pecker. Lol people, right. The publisher of the National Enquirer a guy who had been a close ally of Donald Trump for years is compadres. They actually discussed his plans for running for president right from the get-go in August of two thousand. Fifteen pecker meets with Trump. And they discuss what. Possible embarrassing stories could come out about Donald Trump's apparently serial infidelity and Becker tells them no problem, we'll take care of it will engage in catch and kill a practice by which tabloid publications by up stories from various figures, and then under the understanding that they're actually never going to publish them. They just buy the rights. So the accuser can't go anyplace else and air her or rice Ori? And then of course, there seems to be a elaborate efforts to cover up the payments and the always arrangements shell companies set up. There's vouchers that are made up. So it really does look like a conspiracy to affect the election and mind, you this was happening. After as I understand it after the Hollywood access videotape. It come out. So that's the stormy Daniels payment, right? That's right. Exactly. But still that's part of that is part of the same deal. And so the question that a lot of people will ask is well could this have affected the election after all people already knew when the Hollywood access tape came out Trump seems to be able to blow by that. He's still one. But if this had come out as well and remember, you know, Trump won three states by a margin of eighty thousand votes or something. So this could have been decisive it could have had a real impact. And I think that's going to be one of the things that people debate. It really goes to the question of Donald Trump's legitimacy in terms of winning this election. The one of the thing I want to just linger hunt for a second. I just keep thinking about this is kind of exquisite irony. Donald Trump, of course, is the president who calls the mainstream media practitioners of fact-based journalism fake news all the time. And now, of course, if you believe prosecutors in the southern district of New York, he's been incredibly cozy for all these years with none other than the owners of the National Enquirer and the star talk about fake news, practically in this insincere, preferably acting as an arm of the Trump campaign. I mean, so Donald Trump clearly benefiting from the ultimate fake news in. AM I and they're Tableau. It's listen, I can't think of a greater irony than the fact that David pecker the and the National Enquirer which did so much to promote Trump's candidacy could be the entities that actually bring him down. Which is why I think we'll call this episode. Donald Trump's pecker problem. What we should take note. The president is swinging back is just tweeted as we record this..

"I'm Mike Gaba chief investigative correspondent for Yahoo news, and I'm Dan Kleinman editor in chief of Yahoo news. So you know, Danny the occasion for us to talk to star in this episode is he's published a new book called contempt, a memoir of the Clinton investigation, and it actually has quite a bit in it that will want to grill him about and we will. But before we get to that, we still have to deal with the continued fallout from Bob Woodward's explosive book fear about the Trump presidency m. We're also going to talk to our yahu colleague loopy lupin on the Brett cabinet nomination as a lawyer who's been following it, the cavenaugh hearings and the continued fallout from them very closely for Yahoo. But let's start with that Woodward book. We've now both had a chance to dig into. It and it strikes me that there's both a lot of bad news for Donald Trump in this book, but also some possible. Good news. Well, there is a lot of bad news. A lot of that's been chewed over in the media on cable TV. I'm kind of dominated the news cycle for many days as Woodward books tend to do. You know primarily there's just so much vivid detail that raises questions about, you know his, his fitness for office in, you know, in and his erotic behavior and how he is has been kind of almost manipulated by the staff around him. All fascinating, fascinating stuff. But. What would would doesn't do in this book is really advanced the ball in a significant way in terms of the Russia investigation. And the the really big fundamental question that a lot of Democrats and liberals are hoping would represent the downfall and possible impeachment of of President Trump and that is that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians and that in exchange for the Russians helping. Trump win. They, you know, did favors for for for Putin and Russia. Right. So look, I've sort of been through the Russia port portions of the book and in in fine detail here and dissect it. And it struck me that there were couple of passages that are potentially ominous, especially the the discussion about Mike Flynn and the grounds for his firing, because you know, as you know, it was publicly presented that he was fired because he lied to Mike Pence, the vice president about his conversations during the transition with Russian ambassador Kislyak, and whether they had discussed sanctions and Trump and Woodward does advance the ball a bit on that because he reports that. That. Brian's Priebus than the chief of staff and Don Mcgann. The White House counsel actually reviewed the transcripts of Flynn's talks with Kislyak when this first arose very early in the Trump presidency. And after they looked at those transcripts, they had no doubt that Flynn had lied according to Woodward that transcripts show that was actually Flynn who raise the issue of sanctions with Kislyak, not Kislyak with Flynn and that Flint and that bay had three separate discussions relating to the lifting of sanctions once Trump became president. And this raises the question about weather. Flynn was freelancing in those talks with Kislyak..
