"He's recommendations coming in and out. Have you had any conversations with the governor. Are we gonna see requirements change Throughout the state of colorado. You know i have not had any conversations with the governor. And i i you know i think that I think it'd be really difficult at this point for him to go back and reverse course You know he pulled back all these executive orders we all know. It's all about politics. Obviously two days before the all star game you had to get everything off so that he could actually fill the stadium for the all star. Game right I just don't see him going back to mandate i think he is actually gonna start doing a little bit. What will county did and say you know what it's personal responsibility. I did hear him say Just the other day that He was not planning on and on mandates for even going back to school he was gonna leave it up to individual school district which guess what. That's the right thing to do. Let's hope he sticks to what he's saying so everybody out there market now on the calendar. Commissioner freeman is is agreeing with governor. Police's decision right here. Is that what i'm getting. I'm agreeing with his decision. His decision to leave it up to personal. I i agree i agree and i do think that's what it's going to be here. And that's what it should be because as we talk about what we talk about all year last year. I know people are getting burnt out on this cova talk but there's so many misreporting from my industry With with the with the how we're looking at this and the cases we shouldn't be worried about cases right everybody gets sick. Everybody's had the option to go get the vaccine. We need to be looking at hospitalizations. And then there's been you know in in your career path. There's been politicians that have been just going off the rails with this thing as well. So i think it is important for conversations like this to happen to be clear and concise about what we need to be watching and monitoring no disagreement there. Tanner and the other thing. You know the cdc unbelievably doesn't even follow the science. I mean they're now back to recommend mass even at your vaccinated. You know what you wanna disincentivize people that haven't got the vaccination. Yeah that's the perfect way to do it if they don't believe that there's a there's an in game two this thing and even if they get back to it it'll by the way you're still going to have to wear a mask. They're not gonna do it that that's wrong thing to be doing to try and incentivize people to get the vaccination. They just come out as we continue our conversation here with well. "No. That's not very often that. I can leave you speechless. Commissioner a that's a good that's a good start to the day absolutely talking with wolf county commissioner. Mike freeman last question for you commissioner. This is more of a generic one as well. We're talking for collins. We're talking about That area they have seen so much turnover in leadership positions. And it's it's strange transition to where they're headed Talk to me first of all about that transition for four collins but then secondly how impactful is it and how big of a deal is that when you have a ton of key leadership positions from Know put her school district superintendent new fire chief new mayor. New county commissioner board How big of a transition is that. And what type of impact do you forecast for fort collins. Well i mean. I think it becomes fairly parented. Fort collins the new boulder i mean. They're they're going way in that direction. And you know i guess that's the choice of the citizens were living in larmer county. I mean I don't you know i. It's not not what i believe. But but then. I don't live in larimer county so You know that's the citizens over there. Have there have the ability to elect who they feel is to be their leaders just like we do in weld county and obviously we're on. We're completely on nine days from each other and and i guess that's okay. Yeah i completely agree. Welcome commissioner mike freeman commissioner. I really do appreciate your time this morning and appreciate You listening about the poodle. No you're going to check that website out at some point you have to. It's it's very intriguing. Will be commissioner. Did we miss anything anything else that we need to get out there and for the people of all county not you know i think the only thing the only thing that i would add And it's coming up later in the year. But we're really excited that We're really excited to be having a fair full fare again this year just as we get blast you very much looking forward to the stampede. That's something that's really important to agree but also all well county you know. It's it's it's something that It's great to get people back together and get back to normal again here. Yeah so so. Follow up on this poll question today. What act are you most looking forward to is. Dwight yoakam. is it Three doors down. What what act are you looking for most for well as a little bit aged here but the really you only really the only one that i'm looking forward to and the only one that i really know anything about is dwight yoakam and i do like dwight yoakam. "Forty two of the program nocco now presented by the jeanine agencies. Appreciate welcome to commissioner. Mike freeman joining us. This morning was a fun interview there. be interesting to see what what actually happens now with this This transpiring this cove in nineteen dial transpiring. What's it gonna mean. How are things going to look differently. All of that will still to find out. Joining us now is miles bloom heart with fort collins. Colorado miles how are you this morning doing well. How you doing sandra doing well. Thanks so much for joining us miles. Let's dive right in. Shall we some some sad news still still searching for the missing kayaker out of carter lake. Yeah that's really a sad story Went missing on sunday and Despite an extensive search. I was out at the site yesterday. they had four boats and Just all kinds of equipment out there to look for him but so far nothing and miles. At what point do they It it's it. Sucks to save. But at what point do they wave it off and say there's there's just we're not finding anything well it'll go on for some time I wrote in my story. There is still a a two year old body Who died in tubing accident there in two thousand and six And they never found his body. And i believe but i'm not sure i think there might be one other body and their Carter lake is very deep one hundred and fifty feet deep and it's very cold and so that that cold water Make searching. Or i don't mean to sound more of it but it it makes it so the body stay lower in the water so they're harder to find but hopefully They they have bullets out there and they also have. Interestingly enough they have a search dog There's really fire fighter who has a search dog who can send humans in water and Yeah very interesting in fact. This dog found a thirteen year. Old boy Last year may who was in a canoe and the canoe overturned and and he and he died and this dog found that found the child so You know an interesting twist to a rather sad story but this dog is quite amazing. I got to see at work yesterday. And it's just one of the tools are using to to hopefully find this lovely man there's no out and and you're not not sounding morbid at all. It's just these. These are the type of stories that are so difficult to talk about. i'm. I'm sure they're incredibly difficult for you to write about miles and and seeing the reaction from people at the site right even even that i mean From the first responders out there who are looking for him. That's got to be difficult to watch. Yeah it is You know because obviously they're like everybody else that wants to find this person so that they can You know so. The family can have closure. That's kind of a tough word but It it certainly helps. I don't know how long the search will go on Last time when they were looking for this toddler you know it went on for periodically you know intermittently for for week so It's difficult to say but the very difficult on on the searches. They've used sonars They've used water Sonar they've used drones. They've used these dogs. They've used divers Yet because of the depth of the water there And and the things..

"To the business owner to make a determination on what he's going to do. Will county commissioner chairman. Mike freeman joining us. I appreciate you continuing here. Let me let me throw one hypothetical. Achy here commissioner. I know that. I don't like to do hypothetical situations but this is kind of the question that i've been hearing and seeing from a lot of business owners that i've talked to is well. What if what if. Let's say you're a restaurant owner commissioner. What are you. How are you running your business right now. And that's kind of a broad question. But what are you doing if you do have state liquor license and you know these other licenses that are funded by saying. Are you staying open. Absolutely absolutely i am. I'm staying open. And i'm gonna do what i can to protect my employees and i'm gonna do that can't make the citizens decide to come into my restaurant feel safe but at the end of the day you know. These people need to put food on their table. They you know jobs are important. And i get very frustrated when we talk about essential essential jobs because to every person their job is essential then and their family so i are differentiate between essential jobs and non essential jobs. I think every job. Essential commissioner Mike freeman joining us. Kay let's switch gears. Thanks for playing along with me there. Commissioner Let's switch gears here. One of the things that did come up as well was. You've got to be listening to the hospitals to me. That was that was a no dust statement but how often are the commissioners talking with Hospital representatives so. Wally has has probably not daily. You pretty close to daily conversations with the hospitals There an ongoing conversation and so and then last friday i actually Was on a phone call with With banner and you see health given you know given an update to the board. I was the only one there but of course then it was an update to the chair right and then And of course. I then passed on to the rest of the commissioners what what was on. What was the conversation and really the interesting thing to me. The came out of that conversation. Is there not near capacity for beds for regular beds for. I see that their issue is they're having a staffing issue. That's truly what's going on. And and and i don't really know what's causing their staffing issue but that that's essentially the issue the hospitals are having and i think the other thing that came out of that phone call. Is you know it was almost like well. The only two hospitals in weld county are entering. And and you see here in greeley. And that's just not the case i mean we're monitoring twelve hospitals across his county a lot of the people that live in southern weld county or selfless weld county or never coming up here to go to a hospital. They're using hostels. They're close to them and where they've always gone so it's a bigger conversation than the two hospitals in greeley. I think i think one of the things we a lot of people get caught up in this thing about everything being really centric. It's not really century leagues about a third of the population of weld county. So we got looking at it this county as a whole not to not to discredit or not. Pay attention to. What's going on in greeley as well. But there's much bigger picture than greeley. Well county commissioner chairman. Mike freeman So there you telling me that. The hatchet hasn't been officially buried. I don't think so..

"Idea so so one of the issues. And i wanted to see if you if you felt the same way. Obviously commissioner kirk. Meyer falls under fire from the tribune here about her testy responses about. Tell her tell her. No you tell her if she wants to do that. She has to talk to the board of county commissioners. But what. I felt like with this peace. Commissioner is that it it missed the overall conversation that took place. Where are there going to be times. we're well county disagrees with the governor absolutely but it seems like the conversation was more productive than what's couple of the quotes that were grabbed out of there. I would agree with that. And i think what became very clear in this thing and and At the end of the day the governor is not going to move somebody on a dial. That would be up to you as that would be up to us to make that decision. If we're going to move somewhere on his dial and and one of the things you know that we talked about a little bit is your dial is pretty much specifically about cases and not severity and so even though we we got a little bit of an uptick in hospitals but the taliban rate is tremendously lower than what it was. And i think you gotta factor. I think you need to factor all of that into the deal in fact. Cci that's the of counties had numerous conversations with the health department over changing the metrics in their dial to actually include those kind of metrics include severity and those kinds of things and and the stages. They wouldn't go there so as we continue our conversation here with welcome. Commissioner charron mike freeman regarding the phone. Call that took place between governor police and the county commissioners Last week so was your takeaway. This was more of an open conversation. There was more productivity from this and that it may be that this avenue and this channel of communication with the governor is open now. Oh you know. I don't know that i would go that far down her. I mean i think that You know. I really think. I really think that what it was is You know trying to Have the conversation with us. And and having us say Like a number of county have done that that that are saying you know what Whereas where we're going to we're going to move on your dial and followed these new guidelines and my issue with that is what that does is once again. The unintended consequences of that are essentially destroying the economy destroying businesses. I find it really difficult to believe that that businesses can operate at twenty five percent capacity. And actually make that work. They're gonna close anyway they can't. They're so commissioner. Let's say you know in a week. We do you guys do receive that call from the governor saying we are going to move you to level orange now there's red now there's purple. It's changed again just just today..

"The cave tech sign at three one nine nine six three one nine nine six so when you look at where we sit now and this is so new that this the cova nineteen website the the colorado department of health website has not even added purple yet but weld county lamoure county both sitting at yellow right now yellows where you want to stay one of the questions that i have for commissioner. Mike freeman when he comes on next. What happens if we start to slide over. Because we've seen the governor yet to or excuse me the governor or the commissioners really yet to enforce these restrictions. The and and this is where. I'm excited to talk with. Mike freeman because he is been the one from day one that says we have not closed any businesses we will not open any businesses leaving it to the people of weld county. What does that mean to the restaurant owner if they don't go down to twenty five percent if we do fall back at a level orange who makes that determination and i don't know if that's been made clear there's been a couple of things that we see an too early on that look like that the rulings would fall on the favor of the local government. But i'm not sure so. Well larimer county both level yellow right now not a bad place to be. Obviously you want to start a trend up to level blue level green. He don't want to go to orange and you don't want to read you damn sure now don't want to go to purple killers anyways. We wanna say yellow if not start moving up the other way. "A couple of vip guests. Coming up we'll talk with weld county. Commissioner chairman mike freeman again we had a scheduling conflict yesterday. But i wanna work through this piece with the greeley tribune Nine news when do it a little bit as well talking about the phone. Call between governor police and the weld county commissioners going to talk with county commissioner. Mike freeman about that and where the commission looks to turn heading into twenty twenty one then Yeah there's been news all over the place surrounding cs you football. It's it's been confusing hellish. Just put it that way. Kevin lionel of the colorado and will join us there. They were in zoom meeting. A zoom press conference with stephen zeo. When news started to break that the unlv game against this you could potentially be cancelled. Something to keep in mind is see. You had a game get cancelled as well. So it's a lot of people here in the state pointing to a rocky mountain showdown. Could that happen. Possibly we're gonna talk with kevin love the colorado and to learn a little bit more and i guess the one nice thing about this is that we won't have to pay too much attention to the whooping that you took last week. The only thing is though. And and i'm gonna crush ryan ryan kelly our producer here. The program going to crush his dreams right here. Because he's been working on kevin's prediction stuff. We don't know who sees us gonna play this week so we may not be able to play that today. I know i know ryan ryan throwing stuff back there behind the glass. But maybe we'll just have to have kevin Back on later this week to do this. But that's what we've got lined up on the program today Big news and co vid. And i'll talk about that here in just a minute. I want to start. The show with some positivity though i mean the stuff we'll get to hear how about the greeley stampede. They're announcing their twenty twenty one lineup their concert lineup and they release everyone though. The full lineup is out there now and Let's work through this. They're starting the concert. Start friday june twenty fifth with brett young brett. Young's been a performer at the greeley stampede. For a couple of years he's been here and he's coming back saturday. June twenty six. They need those rock fans out there. It'll be three doors down. Three doors down won't be coming back this year so so far a couple of artists that were scheduled for twenty twenty rolling over to twenty twenty one thursday. July first Dwight yoakam can you pull up a song of his. Just so you just for you. That's more and i like that. They do this honestly. This is the older country. It's a great night. they had. We were talking about that earlier today. A couple of years ago they had aaron tippin clay walker and cena kershaw. That all came and it was a great concert. They try and get back into the older country Ryan let me know when you've got some dwight yoakam pulled up. You've got it ready. Are you ready for this. Which would what song you got here. "So you've gotta be able to have school boards and superintendents working together with their community do what makes the best? What works best for that community and and all these communities are different in these small communities maybe have A. Lot fewer kids in the district and whatever, and so they've got be they've just it. It's a lot of hard work and and and a lot of input with with You know the the board and their parents and the community to just look at what makes the most sense, and that's really the role of the school board and I think they do I think they just do an outstanding job doing that and figuring out what works best their particular situation? Yeah. There's no doubt about it and I think there was a little bit of uniformity. In the aspect of having some at least some remote learning possibilities But obviously, we see smaller school districts able to get those kids back into the classrooms and I don't think. Can really overstate like you said the importance of having some sort of social interaction as different as it may be these kids needing some sense of normalcy. Well well, they do and and you know, and the thing about it is you know maybe maybe at a certain age, you can make some sense out of being able to do things online learning but I find it extremely difficult to believe that kindergarten first grade second grade third grade. That that that can actually happen in a successful manner online The attention span is not their parents are busy. They need be with other kids and they need hands on teachers. Teachers do an absolutely phenomenal job that they need to be able to see these kids and look them in the eye and know and know what their struggles are and I. Just don't see how you can make that happen online. We'll county commissioner Chairman Mike Freeman joining the program commissioner, obviously economics, and how the Economy The weld county economy's been doing is is at the forefront of a lot of people's..

Absolutely. This was a five. Oh, decision, We were all completely in support of this decision. We have very few people in the Hostel County with Kobe. we haven't had we got one for. The last forty eight days. I think those are great numbers, and and I think that as you can see more and more test, which we're seeing more and more tests performed. You'RE GONNA. Don't really see any physical distancing and going on at those protests with thousands and thousands of people, and it's not really protests quite honestly kind of those are riots. They're destroy property, and you know I'm all for peaceful protests, but that's a long way from what's going on across this country right now will. It seems like that that's been the message here. from from every elected officials that there is a difference in. That line has been crossed and a lot of these circumstances. It absolutely been crossed. And you know, and I think part of it is. People are frustrated. You know get that. They've been following all these crazy. Stay at home orders and all this stuff for up to three months, and I think they're just you know they're ready to get out and go, but they're doing it in a really destructive manner. Has the governor been speaking? With local officials it seems like governor polls. You know he was having. Weekly even daily press conferences has kinda gone a little bit quiet at least from the media front. has been in contact with with Weld County and local officials. Not To my knowledge, I haven't had a conversation living for close to a month. He has not been contacting us. Right Well County Commissioner chairman. Mike Freeman. Let's follow up with that. Is that you off guard especially with with the strict guidelines that he's been putting into place. No I'm really not surprised that you know that he's not wanting to talk to us..

George Floyd: Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison on Arrest of Former Police Officer Derek Chauvin

"Joining now more on the arrest of the former. Minneapolis police officers Minnesota Attorney General. Keith Ellison and Attorney General let me let me. I get your response. It's sort of a a a whiplash experience yesterday. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman saying. This takes time. We sort through this. Today they announced the arrest your response. I think that one of the things all the protests have been calling for is a arrest in hard in his case that has happened You know a murder in this particular degree of it Carries with it a statutory maximum of twenty five years there is a guidelines recommended sentence presumptive sentence of somewhere between twelve and a half to fifteen years. This is a serious charge with serious time associated with it And the investigation is ongoing. There's a parallel factual investigation. But even with all that with the discharge the off of the four officers this charge the ongoing investigation against the other three. That's still not going to be enough to make people feel like we are on the road to a more just Minnesota so we need to really dig into the structural change implement those of core police reforms and other reforms. "And you know absolutely I mean you know obviously well county operations have been have not stopped. They've been all the things we've got to be doing or continuing to do doing definitely can with online stuff and and that kind of stuff but there are certain things that There are people out there that can't that can't renew their license plates online. Don't have that ability. And so now they'll be able to come in and actually get their expired expired license plates. It'll all be by appointment only That can make appointments and come into the clerk recorder's Office beginning on Monday and start getting start getting the things business that they needed to do just to function in their everyday lives. And like I said our lobbies will be open on. They'll be limited we will somewhat. We've got we've got some hobbies that there's only room in the lobby for one person and and but we'll be putting those guidelines out for for each one and be to start getting things in the services that that citizens need. That weren't able to be done. You know completely online so or tell or by telephone and so Yeah we're excited to To slowly start to roll this back out and and to be able to On a limited basis let people come in and and their services that they need from all Count Commissioner Freeman. We appreciate your time. I know it's been a hectic week and we'll continue to be hectic but we'll continue to check in again throughout their those dates and times For any of those town halls for for our listeners that they want. Maybe they've got questions that I wasn't able to get to here today that you're encouraging them to join in on. Yeah so on Monday on Monday. from five to six. We'll be doing a town hall meeting. We will get that published out there as far as the the number that you can call in for that town hall meeting And then We'll see how that goes and it might be something that makes sense going forward. We welcome never done a town hall meeting before. So we're going to try this and We'll have a number of updates of what's going on with the county as far as our services what. Um How lobbies are working A number of the things that we've been doing is as you know. I mean which part of the thing that while county has done is we spent almost five hundred thousand dollars in PPA as personal protective equipment that we've distributed to first responders throughout will county As they as they call him a question whether it's a fire district or police departments from around the county meeting Pini. We've been acquiring that in purchasing the out and then goes to be able to distribute that to the first responders as as they need it. So you know we're we're doing a lot of things that To try and help with the first responders safety of the citizens of Weld County. And that's one thing we can do. Is We have to purchase that stuff and and be able to get it. Spread out around the county where it needs to go. So we'll talk about that as well. Commissioner real quick and I'll let you go here but wanted to point out to the The letter that you received You and your fellow commissioners received Believe it was Saturday last weekend from the hospital workers. Have you had conversations with those? Have you respond to that to that letter and had those conversations with some of those people In the hospital realm. You know we. We've obviously been having. Conversations of Dr Wallace has been having conversations as we continue to see where this goes. You know. Hospitals have not been overwhelmed. We don't want them to get overwhelmed. And so You know part of the part of the thing is we've also able to assist with some of our healthcare systems as well with DP and we'll continue to work but everybody together. I mean. This is a partnership we all work together. And I think we'll get through this together right commissioner. Thank you so much for your time this morning. We appreciate it and we look forward to talking with you soon. Thank you too. Thanks as Commissioner chairman. Mike Freeman appreciate his time. This morning and A lot to unpack the obviously with with the safer at work guidelines Have been going into place and how it's been received and again one of the things. I thought was interesting that that he said there was a lot of the responses that he got from business owners were that they were starting to unroll the plan. Not necessarily jumping the gun to get open as soon as things As soon as the safer at work put into place But they were starting to put plans into place because they do want to take every precaution. We'll unpack that and much much more when we finish up here on the other side also want to get to the headline that caught my when we come back. We'LL WRAP UP. "Nine thirty six the time on no co now? I'm Tanner's went very excited to have our next guest joining us and it's been a crazy week for a lot of people and I know he's one of them joining me. Now is a county commissioner chairman. Mike Freeman Mike. Thanks for taking time. It's been a week since the announcement of the safer at work policies or guidelines rather We can review what take me through. What the ensuing week has been like For you as county commissioner. You know it's it's been busy week and really what we're focusing on right now is Looking where we're going to be next week More counties is getting everything in place. All of our lobbies. We'll be opening on Monday. I'm obviously on a limited basis but lobbies. We'll be opening on Monday We've been doing. We've been doing every Wednesday. We've been after a board meeting. We've been live streaming up at the ability to to have a conversation with the public and so beginning next week on Monday with our lobbying open. We'll be we'll be going back to board games where the public can come into our boardrooms with You know we'll be practiced physical distancing and all that. We'll be doing public input on Monday Wednesday again Li- back back. You know boardrooms on the other thing that we're doing is Next Monday from five to six or we're going to be doing a town hall meeting with the Commissioner's To where people can They're sending out numbers kind of like like what Cory Gardner does or Michael Bennett or whatever regular townhall meeting where where citizens throughout well county will have the opportunity to to Listen updates on what's going on in the county and be able to call in with questions and so You we're just kinda continuing to move forward as A lot of the state reopens To tomorrow and Monday with with what with what you know even with the safer at home type thing you know the majority of the businesses not full bore not like they were February first but slowly get back to business not business as usual but but start to get back to work and not only here in Colorado but across the nation. You're seeing businesses began to reopen. And I think that's the place that we need to be and Mike those with so much confusion going around right now. I mean transparency is key. It sounds like you're providing I would have to assume commissioner that one of the questions that you're GonNa get is they're going to be more specific guidelines coming from the safer at work guidelines a couple of questions that I got from from some business owners. Some people around northern Colorado was We'll what about restaurants can they have people sitting down in them and then the other big one that I got was about churches and could they start to gather again have there. Have you guys put into place more specific guidelines for for those areas? Well you know I think I think the guidelines or the gathering guidelines are GonNa Continue. I mean you can't really have groups of more than ten people You know if you've got a big enough area you know it's Kinda like Safeway or whatever else if you've got if you've got a spot where you can have groups that are ten people or less You know or or smaller. I mean I think people should have can still be able to go to church praying. You're just not gonna be able to have a full church. Kinda like I think the last thing you're going to see come back in this thing is going to be stadiums and and those kinds of things. I know the Greeley stampede which doesn't have anything to do with US but Really Independent stampede has has cancelled for this year I think that I heard they were still gonNA do a fireworks. Show just not open to the public and so you're the things that are. GonNa be slow coming back or the ones that are involved. Big groups they groups together. The other thing that I see which I'm really excited to see the number of school districts including My son the tribune that Are Looking at what they're gonNA do for graduations. I think there's going to be a lot of innovative ideas out there. I know windsors is kind of planning. I thought district six and put together what they're doing for graduations For the for the Public School. I haven't seen anything on their charter schools yet like university in Frontier Academy. But I'm sure they'll get those in place I know windsors got something planned. I think a number of these districts are going to be starting to look at that being able to maybe bring the kids and keep the kids separate apart and be able to do graduation ceremony. So I think it's going to be a slow roll out on faith. You know once again as we go back from very beginning of this thing and you know I think I've said it all continue to say you know well. County didn't close businesses and we're not opening businesses all we did was put out some guidelines If people things and go there they need to follow guidelines fall. The governor's guideline part of the reason. The governor's putting out specific guidelines on on all these things that I think the goop gathering ones. You know that's something that doesn't make a lot of sense at this point to have huge groups getting together. I think only place you're seeing the huge groups get together as all these people that are protesting across the country. And I see there's another protests going to be in Denver today I believe maybe it's tomorrow You know protesting. Those people need to also remember. They should be physical distance. And then I don't really think they're doing a good job at that. Weld County Commissioner chairman. Mike Freeman a week after the safer at work guidelines were put into place in and wanted to see what the reaction that you saw was commissioner from from business owners. Was it an instant okay? Maybe we can start rolling on this. What was the reaction that you saw? What I saw was exactly what we expected to see. That is businesses starting to put plans in place starting to make sure that they would make the designs that they needed to do to be able to open and do things safely. And I think I think you're seeing that you're seeing that across across the work off well county where nobody nobody that I've ever I've talked to saying you know business as usual opening our doors. What they're doing is they're saying. Okay let's look at this but see what we can do to put in place to be able to keep our employees safe and to be able to keep consumer sake whatever type business that is and You know at the end of the day. employs are going to need to feel sick. Be Able to work there and the consumers are going to have to be able to feel safe but they're not going to go into that business so It's really inherent on the businesses whether that's a retail business or or whether or you know that's a hair salon or barber shop or whatever that is that Is now going to be allowed that it's now open and under safer at home to do that. We just WanNa make sure that people are doing that in a safe manner I think the interesting thing is the guidelines that two states now putting out and pretty much mirrored ours and so Which which I think. That's great and they slowly starting to put some different guidelines out. I've noticed a couple of coming out but I mean I think the guidelines of pretty much standard no matter what the businesses right and again. That's I've mentioned that. If you read through the guidelines between the safer at work in the safer at home Really the only difference as you put it is not picking winners and losers When it comes to what businesses are able to open I would say pretty much true. Yes and one thing that I wanted to get to as well. Commissioner is some of those some of those cities that are in between two different counties. Were speaking mainly of Brighton in Erie. How're those conversations been happening With with those split cities you know I really you know I. I don't I don't really know what they're doing in those cities. That's the interesting thing with your pardon Weld County and in Boulder County. We've also got the same situation with Windsor. Johnston Johnstown and Windsor both in County and in Larimer County You know I that. That's inside those municipalities. I just I don't know how they're handling at a free show they're not drawn a line On the county line. I think they're probably looking at At their guidelines and I I kinda I can honestly answer. What those municipality is. Doing that are in different counties. I just don't have that answer. I know there's a lot of a lot of questions out there for a lot of people and a lot of different things going on commissioner and I know that that has been In talking with some business owners a little bit of the confusion knowing what they should be able to follow. Do see in the coming weeks Things starting to get back more on the same page. Yeah I I mean. I really think we're pretty much on the same page all alone. We had a very very good conversation. All five of the conversation with the governor on Friday night and You know I think that For the most part I I really for the most part I think we are all on the same page. I think I think because at the end of the day is that said you know. We didn't closing visibly opie business. We're not telling anybody to go up in the business. We don't have the ability to do that. We're setting please saying here's guidelines talking with Weld County Commissioner Chairman. Mike Freeman and I know that there is a lot of misconceptions about those guidelines when they came out and I know that the governor reacted in and had some very strong words. Have you had conversations with the Governor? And if so what were those? What were those like like? I said we get conversation with the governor last night. And you know I think you know we kind of recent understanding to some degree that You know what four Thousand Square Miles I. There is no way that I have any idea. We've got a number of towns that don't have law enforcement. That are way out you know in his ORLANDS are welcoming. You know. There's I don't know what they're doing out there. That's going to be up to what they're doing they're but they're you know he can't. There's no enforcement. There's no possible way to enforce just like there wasn't enforced thousand square miles to go go out and make sure that everybody was staying in their home when we were under the state homewares. You know it's it's it's it's an unfortunate deal it's a great guideline it is. It is what it is and I believe people for the most part are doing doing responsible things and I think that's where we have to beat people up able to make responsible decisions. You Use Commonsense Commissioner. Mike Freeman and again a week after the safer at work guidelines put into place in mentioning that the county operations are going to start to come back in an old. That's a relief for a lot of people that maybe have been operating without that paycheck. I know starting to back up very exciting times at least with with still extreme caution but still a sense.

"They're they're they're willing to get rid of Houston's a little bit of a different situation because that's situations crazy but still there you'll you'll see that they're still teams teams. That are saying I'm not as married to great receiver. I will take a chance with cheaper draft or free agency and it's been like that and it's changing The receiver still obviously shoes because the passing game is so big in the NFL. But they're not as afraid to make a move with some very talented as well. I think maybe that is because Wideouts maybe start to viewed as as running backs not in the fact that you know that once you're past the age of thirty you've outlived your usefulness You know although there are some we've seen Emmanuel Sanders make a nice signing even come back from a blown out. Achilles of at the age of thirty continuing to do what he's doing but we're seeing guys come out of college and just get things done and get them done fast and this. This year's group is really deep. Mike Freeman here on the rich. Eisen show running backs. We've seen what running backs can can be coming out of college and that makes running backs even in their second. Contracts Somewhat fungible replaceable. So what's the scoop with Leonard? Fournette here in Jacksonville Clearly I think that this is the the whole concept of him saying let's go get Cam. Publicly is just the tip of the iceberg for this team and net. What do you have for me on this Front Mica? That that that situation rich has always been a little bit tenuous because for that you point out a good example. Let's go get him That's not optimal for team. They don't want you say let's go get this guy when they decided we're going to go with another guy When that speaks his mind. And there's there's something bigger though. The Jaguars are rebuilding their completely restructuring. That team and We talked about the receivers. There's there's still a belief that the running backs are not a a key part of his game and not as much that you can just going back to what you said which is dead on how receivers can be used as running backs you can just throw quick pass out to them dump it off to them and they can be devastating for more devastating than some running backs. It's not in every case. Obviously there's great running back that that can do a lot Christian. Mccaffrey can do a lot. But the receivers are can can function in that role. The tight ends can a lot in that role so teams just still look at backs and I think that was this way and say we can find someone that we like more. Maybe cheaper that we don't that we believe in and we're cool with and we're going to focus on the receivers and the quarterback and backs replaceable. That's that's what's happening Jacksonville over the least sure I just think for some reason I don't know what it is. The Coughlin's gone now. But I just think that both both sides are kind of sick of each other. I don't know you kinda get that sense with son right. Yeah thousand percent and There's a there's a couple of players Jacksonville who have and and the team. They're sick of each other. There's other players on that roster and the thing about it is I. I'm a huge Jaguars. Guy I love that organization I like that owner a lot. I like the way it's run So I think they what they're doing is I. It's risky because basically starting over. But I like what they do. Overall as an organization. I love that city. I love that area And so they're just they're deciding this is. We're just going to move on from these guys who may not want to be here and we'll and we'll build our own franchise where we want to build it and if you don't want to be here if you talk to being here welcomed by you later and I think what they're headed thinking God as one of the obviously he's one of those guys you think he will be heading out. I mean because there. That's that's something that bears in mind before we see the draft. Play out this weekend right He. He is definitely one of guys at once. I mean he's basically he's basically said it So not basically so. I think he's yeah. You'RE GONNA see which I think there's there's a couple of these situations to really watch. He's one of them some situations in Jack with the Jaguars Maybe Beckham but I doubt it and a couple of other guys and a couple of situations where Do you could see trades and moves. It's always this way with the draft. But it's really sort of shaping up that way this year and and I would just really watch the Patriots. I always say this every year patriots. Always we always say they're gonNA make some kind of big move. I just had been speaking of people around the League who find it hard to believe the Patriots when I go into this year with those quarterback militants offense. They just find it hard to believe that. That's what they're gonNA do and they're not thinking like five years down the road. They think the Patriots GonNa make some Kinda big move quarterback so watch them and and the I can't find anyone who thinks the bengals are not GonNa get borough that no matter what they're offered they're sticking with him. They think he's the kind of guy that can energize entire city. So unless someone does like Mike ditka entire draft type deal. They're not moved. They're not budging either so there are a couple of things that are fixed. A couple of things really watch and like always as you know this draft something. We never planned on. Unexpected will definitely happen well. Let's let's dive in a little bit on the Patriot thing because it's so intriguing. Obviously because it involves the Patriots and Belichick and Brady and what happens in the next step and so on and so forth. You don't think has impressed in behind the scenes enough to have the Patriots. Just say we're all in with this kid. You don't think that's the case. Nobody believes it might be. It might be what I'm saying. People don't believe it. I mean I have tremendous respect bells. He's the best coach ever do it. That organization is to me just my opinion the best history of the League. You're GonNa see though what it looks. Life is like without Tom. Brady I mean he he you know you talk about a tide lifts all boats. I mean he was a phenomenon and he'd better that organization in every way he rely they relied so much on him. Obviously with the passing offense. Obviously the office but he impacted every corner of the Organization. One Guy and so what? I'm what I'm saying is teams are saying you're going to go from that to what you have now Anyone who follows brady would have a hard time but this is particularly really brutal transition and no one believes the Patriots are going to do this. They just don't believe it now. The Patriots and Bell Is. He's a very confident guy. He may say yeah. We're good with this. You may roll the dice and that that the odds are that's probably what will happen is no believes it. Because how does a guy go from Brady to to this and not really thinking more about adding more talented roster at that position and taking a chance with something moving up with some of his players and draft this year or really good so this is more a question of they? Don't believe it but don't take is that Kinda Guy. Belting is the guy who will say I like him. He's impressed us. We're GONNA roll the dice. It's just a no one really. Mike Freeman bleacher. Report here on the rich. Eisen show so you know we keep talking James and and for good reason because James. You got the guy threw for five thousand yards. And he's got a big arm and he seems to have turned his life around and has his head on straight and his Done and you've got Cam who is a former first overall pick who was entertaining an iconic in Carolina as. He said he would be But I don't know why I'm just keep sitting here so much mike and thinking once borough gets drafted. Dalton's gotTa go somewhere. And that's when Dalton is going to start coming into this mix and he might be the one that gets the GIG in Jacksonville. Obviously J. Gruden's there so on and so forth. I wonder what you think about that quarterback Carousel Going into the draft totally agree with you on all that I think Cam Newton Has Gotten one of the roles deals and that I've ever seen a guy who was physically just battered. His whole career organization walks away from him And there was this perception in part of it is because of the Times around now That it's hard to just get a real hardcore physical guys because it's just what we're facing but There's there's fear. His his health has his is his body breaking down. I think whoever gets them? We'll get a massive steel I don't feel as strongly about James Winston. I feel that way very strongly about. I think he's got another really strong. Really impressive chapter two right and whoever gets them whoever gets them is GONNA get a huge bargain But I think I agree with everything you said. I think teams are going to go with Andy Dalton I And we talked about some of these things that can happen in draft. This is one of those things will probably will see some type of deal in the draft so team that doesn't necessarily you mentioned the Jaguars. That's the possibility there are other teams who don't get drafted player. They want so they go for Dalton and then after that or guys like Cameron and after that has James to make. It's I agree with you. Cam I mean you. WanNa talk about a chip on his shoulder and his foot. I mean you know right. He's got the chip coming in and he's got he's still Cam Newton. You know what I mean I I. I know he's not going to plow people through you know on third and short anymore unless he unless he's he's back healthy and I know he does have such a Canon Armitage airmails people about. There's just something about I mean. He's still Cam Newton and he'll put fannies in the seats. I'm just interested. The CHARGERS HACK. Nab such a need for somebody like him. Maybe they're sitting back waiting if to it drops to them and then come out with to a than to a check the box of futures. Now come get your tickets. Everybody knows who is. He's a delight so on and so forth. Maybe that's what they're waiting for with the charges. What do you think well you did on? I think One of the big things with Cam. I think there's a lot. There's a half dozen teams. That are have him on their radar and are looking to see what happens in the draft and some of these dominoes will fall into drafts and some of them may not until that after but. I think he's one of the dominos that could fall because I do think I the way he's been at times portrayed and treat it as always wanted me but there are teams that no he still has a lot left and there are teams that look at him and valued him and think he's very very good still so it's just that some of them just aren't there are willing to make a move now because they want to really get a good look at him physically And also they want to wait and see what happens with quarterbacks in the draft but eventually those there's teams out there that are sort of waiting watching him monitoring him and they're gonNa make some moves maybe for younger plan draft but There there he has a lot of interest. There's a lot of teams that really respect him. Respect his game respect him as a guy respect his work ethic all of that so those teams out there. I just wish he had been. I mean look this happens to the NFL the big boy league. It's brutal at times way guys are treated as brutal at times. I just wish he was treated a little bit better more respectfully because he deserves it. He's earned it. He's been a really good player in this league a really good citizen in his league And there's still again resist a lot left there. He's still got some game last one for you. Mike Freeman Your best guest By the end of Thursday night Who's Got Herbert? Who's got to and WHO's got love by the end of the night and if you think there's a fifth one x maybe I think the dolphins still get to I think the Patriots Have Herbert and I don't I'm not I'm still not sure where that's third guy goes. Doc Rivers denies Lakers coaching rumors

"These rumors Laker rumors once you when you hear Laker rumors is like all of a sudden they start the manifest and you start throwing fuel to the fire. But I guess there was a big fire extinguisher in terms of putting out of a rumor or fired because Doc Rivers the head coach of the clippers pre-game before his team took on the Indiana Pacers yesterday, he quickly extinguished those fires take a listen to Doc Rivers pre-game. Oh, we gotta get ready. We gotta here we go. Doc, Rivers pre-game. In this right now. Magic Johnson are very close friends as you know. And that's what we are. Good friends. I have great respect for him. But the whole history of everything Steve bomber. And I have had a we have a great relationship. And you know, this summer we decided to extend my contract, and he did something and I'm going to throw this out because I just think it's worth saying because it tells you a lot about Steve he did something that I don't think any owner would do he gave me an out. Where I could opt out the summer if I wanted to. But you know, it was like we wanted to test each other make sure that we thought this was the right fit. We thought everything would work, right? But we wanted to make sure and as my dad said trust everybody, but cut the cards, you know, so it was one of those things and then early in this year, we both decided let's in this thing take this out extending it make it a longer deal. Everything we know about the NFL's joint collusion grievance settlement with Colin Kaepernick, Eric Reid

"Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has settled his cO luge in case against the. The National Football League. His former teammate Eric Reed has also settled his case the two players sued the NFL alleging teams conspired not to hire them as retaliation for kneeling during the national anthem. They had meal as a way to protest racial injustice and police brutality with us. Now is NPR sports. Correspondent Tom Goldman. Hi, tom. Hi, mary. Louise. So what details do we know about exactly how they have settled their cases. We know nothing short interview that. Move on. We got we got three sentences in a joint statement by the NFL and the attorneys for Katherine it can read saying they have resolved the pending grievances. And that's it because of confidentiality agreement. They are not saying anything more which is a bit frustrating considering how this case this whole issue has roiled the country. I mean, let's remember how capper Nick and his actions and read and the other players who followed created great upset throughout the country. The president weighed in a number of times the vice president walked out of a game during the anthem where there were protests happening the playing of the national anthem became must see TV. But today, Mary Louise, we're left with three sentences three sentences from the people directly involved but being a dog at reporter. I'm sure you're nosing around and trying to find whatever else sang, so what does everybody else say about this? You betcha of the NFL players union. In a statement says it's not privy to the details of the settlement either. But it says it's glad that Eric Reid. Has earned a job an contract and the union continues to hope that Nick gets his opportunity as well. Eric Reed signed last year with the Carolina Panthers. And just recently he reupped with a very lucrative new three year deal. We got maybe a little insight into the settlement from Yahoo sports. It said it was told on prior occasions that cabernet can read would only settle if a lucrative financial agreement was reached between the players in the NFL and columnist Mike Freeman tweeted today, he's hearing from team officials that the NFL paid kapernick in the sixty to eighty million dollar range and then talk to university of Richmond law. Professor Karl Tobias who's followed this case closely. He says cabernet can read or vindicated in they're recovering something the money and Tobias says they're also vindicated in that a settlement shows the NFL was unwilling to let the case proceed in August of last year an arbitrator ruled the case could go forward. He rejected the NFL's attempts to have the case dismissed that gave the. Players some leverage. Although the collusion is tough to prove in. It wasn't guaranteed. The players would win. All right. So we shall watch for details of the settlement. And also as you said for what Colin Kaepernick may do next beyond being faced with Nike. I was just looking he's thirty one years old. So by Tom Brady standards. He could have a decade a play leftover knows. Yeah. That's to NPR's, Tom Goldman. Thanks very much. You're
