"Go didn't get much better than that. You wrote that in a survey by the athletic this summer fans voted. Mike evans their second favorite player on the team behind. Only tom brady and finishing just one point. Seven percentage points behind the seven times super bowl champ. So greg why is it that fans in tampa love this guy so much. Yeah it really was depressed. I remember tabulating the vote with like twenty dollars to go. I think mike was even ahead. Which would have been really cool because again to out vote tom. Brady and a popularity contest is just crazy. But i think what they like is who he is off the field as much as i mean. They know on the field. What a great receiver is you got. Thirteen jerseys all over the stadium on a sunday but see who is off the field to know what he's been through a to see how giving it is every year you have two or three of these stories of mike helping somebody that he doesn't know what all it's like. He's a big video game guy. There was a shooting in jacksonville during a qualifying tournament for john. Madden video game tournament and mike. No these mike paid for the funeral expenses for for one of the in one of the people that was killed. He's paid for medical bills for people. There was a police related shooting and the civil suit came out. And i think the jury awarded him four dollars in their civil suit or something. Heinous like that and evans reached out and paid for some of their expenses as foundation with his wife. Now he's literally the bucks man of the year the year they win the super bowl. He's just a really generous selfless person. And i think that makes it that much easier for fans to literally adore him..

"One of the key pieces to last year's super bowl run by the tampa bay buccaneers and an important part of their title hopes. Once again this season is wide receiver. Mike evans touchdown. This one of my kevin's second of the day new tampa bay record thirteen this year and as important as evans has been on the field for the bucks. He's become even more beloved off it both in tampa hand in his hometown of galveston texas. This community is a community. It's constantly on edge and ready to fight back against hurricane against the economy against socio economic status. And it's something that might secure example. Today greg allman covers the box for the athletic. Explains how evans has overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to win the hearts of fans across the country. And exactly what makes him basically the human ever from wondering and the athletic. I'm under scelzo. It's friday september seventeenth. And this is the lead greg allman. Thank you so much for joining us today. Hey thanks for having me glad to be on gregor wanted to start with something that you wrote about in a recent story about mike evans. Can you tell us about mike evans day in galveston texas. They had this great hometown parade for mike in march after the super bowl. Ucd small town parades and it's it's not a huge thing. It's a fire truck. It's a couple of cars but the whole city comes out and you can see how much it means to these small towns when they have somebody debt can have so much success and kind of put your city on the mac pro. Football player commodity. Amy hi how ya doing man you know. He's wearing a letter jacket like a purple and gold ball highschool letter jacket. It's still has the be on. It has all district on the sleeve. He's a pro bowl player national on you know all pro and it's like he still remembers when he was second team all county fifteen year old or something. It's still rock in the high school varsity jacket. You have to respect it right. And i mean he legitimately means it when he says. This is like one of the proudest honors. I could have. I think it means more to get the little key to the city than it does to get a lot of the amazing national accolades that people that are successful him can get tom galveston ball with some of the other times. I've had in my life while playing sports and knowing that a lot in the he'll be gets wired. Well gregory of how mike evans became guy with a day named after him parade and all it really is a pretty remarkable story and you recently spoke with a bunch of people from his past. So let's go back to the beginning for a minute. Can you tell us about the early. Part of mike evans life and his family situation growing up. Yeah i mean immensely sad story of what his child who was like. I mean it's one thing to grow up poor as he did in galveston galveston a tough place to grow up to begin with but grew up in a house that had some domestic abuse. Dad went to jail when he was five for three years for abusing another woman outside the family came back got in trouble again for hitting his mom with jail for thirty days and it's really sad and that his mother's brother his uncle had also been in jail and basically just got tired of seeing his sister being abused and this one night when when mike is nine years old. You can't imagine any more fragile than a nine year old is uncle shoots and kills and stabs and kills his father in the street outside their home going out in the street all over the place for somebody. Espn did a east sixty special. On mike in two thousand sixteen. He went through the whole thing with him. The police woke me and my sister said to be ticket to grandmother's house. Others black guy in the street was pops and that's how we lost his dad and that it's something that could really set somebody off and been a reason why you just say well. No wonder these didn't work out for him. And greg you spoke with a guy who ended up becoming more or less a father. Figure to mike evans. Can you tell us about terry pathway. And how he fit into. Mike evans life back. Then yeah terry pedal. He's a great story. His youngest son taryn pedal is like best friends. Mike they were friends and youth basketball together. You went onto play nebraska. He's playing professionally in greece. Still now but terry peta basically became. Mike's father when he lost his dad i think has been in that kind of role for kids in galveston for at least twenty years here but tried to give my kind of a model of what a family should be. He just had the opportunity to to see a family structure. And that's one of the reasons. Well always coaches Hill keys to build it. They'll self esteem in trying to make a man and he's talked about. How kind of crazy optimistic and hopeful he is as a person in that. There's gang violence in this barrier island of galveston texas and he literally took the guy's from rival gangs bloods and crips and said hey you guys should do a football game together. I think becky that. I think minnow crazies hill when i would take these guys out of town stuff and plan. They shooting at each other when they came to practice. He actually knew. Mike's father and he told the story about how he knew. Mike evans as a baby. Go to malls in the oh. He was going on this thing. He got this little basket. he's comfortable. He said look you say look boy aboard the funding board lead visible goo though co q. And remembers kind of befriending. Mike's father trying to help them out trying to get him jobs trying to to kind of get him out of this cycle of abuse and going to jail that he ultimately never got out of it. Sounds like evans was actually more of a basketball player than football player growing up. What did he tell you about. How high school basketball experience changed him. Galveston is an island unto itself. You go across the bridge and it's right there a lot like we would think of kind of in the clearwater area over there. Some of the barrier islands. I don't think he knew very much. Outside of galveston maybe houston was kind of the far limits of his world that he knew until he started playing travel basketball team called the galveston hornets that he played with. And these aau teams will play in these national tournaments. So he got to go to vegas and saint. Louis and kansas city even went to canada. He sitting there in canada. And he's like. Why do all these people care about me. Why are they making a big deal. Out of me always cool to see. You'll man somebody fan of the kid. I was a big fan. I'm still a fan of sports entertainment. Not at but is surreal. Sometimes but i'm a little used to. But i'll never get tired of it and it's needed and he's still very much that same humble guy. He's very aware of all the talent he has. But i still think the idea that people would want to be like him is still amazing for him. Obviously footballs were. He's had all of his professional success where he is right now but i think basketball was probably where he got his confidence from and maybe where he i realized he could be something bigger than just galveston well eventually gave up basketball and instead played college football at texas. Am and then was drafted by the bucks greg. How would you characterize his time on the box team before last season. Super bowl run. I mean for the longest time i mean. He and labonte. David were both just great football players. That had no even small morsel of a taste of real football success. Mike came here in fourteen his first six years here in one winning season really one time they ever had a shot at making. The playoffs and still fell. Short is rookie year. They went to and fourteen and still resigned to stay here. Still liked what they had here in tampa still believed that enough that took obviously a really lucrative contract but took money to stay here and believe in the future in tampa. So it's really neat. And that jason light is their current general manager and his literally his first draft pick and fourteen with the number seven overall pick was to take my evans and it ends up being a really smart decision. I think people that liked texas am football that year. A lot of what they liked with. Johnny menzel heisman. Winning super exciting quarterback a lot of people in tampa at the thought. The bucks might take menzel at seven and jason light to his credit kind of identified that. Maybe the success was more of a function of mike evans being an amazing receiver than menzel. Being an nfl quarterback so you see menzel you know drafted later in the first round did not have in any way a remarkable career at all and here it is mike evans. You know the first receiver. Nfl history to open their careers with seven straight. One thousand yard seasons rainy. Moss is the only get ahead sick. So you're breaking record at randy. Moss said as receivers.

"Your football headquarters with their who tastic deals like the quarterback, a draft and 10 boneless wings for just 10 99. It is without Further ado I welcome onto the program. The fantasy football guru for the Gazette. Matt Wylie. Matt appreciate the time as always. Hey, Thanks for having me. It's one of the most most today at Christmas morning for some people. They woke up in their football starting, so I'm happy to be a part of it. I am happy to be a part of in the way I am. Um, but let me ask you, the line keeps moving. It's actually been quite remarkable how much the line has moved. For Tampa in Dallas. Would you say that? The fact that it keeps moving Tampa's way is also may be a sign that if you have buccaneers on your roster that you should play them Normally, I would say yes, there's the line moves that much, but not any time. The Dallas Cowboys are involved. Any time they're involved, the line usually comes out at a point to appoint a half higher than it should be there. Kind of like Um, you know, the Yankees of the Lakers, the Cowboys that the general public will bet on them, not just Um, there's the Sabbath, the savvy batters but then the cowboy fans So I don't wait too much into that. But I also you know, the Cowboys had an offensive lineman. Have an issue with Covid, Um so I could see the line going the way it is going So from this game tonight from the Tampa perspective, I've been asked about the likes of Antonio Brown. But how many guys From Tampa. Do you feel really good about tonight? Off four Tom Brady, Mike Evans and and that's really good that the defense and Leonard Barnett a pause a little bit, but I'm still going to use them if I drafted them in a flex spot. I probably won't go RB two or anything with Leonard for net, but I like I like those guys. I know there's a lot of mouths to feed and Tampa in the backfield, and a lot of people want to stay off of it. But I want At least entire CIA play out. I want no part of Ronald Jones. And I want no part of, um do you have one in banana? Bonnie Bernard? Yeah, So all right. So Brady you like a lot. Do you like him as like The best quarterback and fantasy this weekend. No. There's some matchups and again. Everything we know today will be different from next week. But there's certain teams that that I want to use that they just because of the defenses they're facing. It's like Try to always use the passing game against Tennessee. Try to always use the passing game against Chicago. Try to always use a running game against Las Vegas. Like there's certain teams and keys that I looked into, especially Um, Las Vegas Baltimore situation with their their lead runner going down, Gus Edwards. It looks like is out. So if if you're late to the pickups, um, go pick up the Baltimore starting running back and even take a flyer on Levian bell, but they should have like I was as I was preparing to just come on and talk on the show today. It was like Gus Edwards is my sleeper. This week. The Raiders have a bunch of pass rushers. And it seems like the Raiders are built to stop. You know the Chiefs and the bills and the Chargers and some of these passing games and it looks like you can run against them. And then, of course, Baltimore's running back goes down and all my Gus Edwards prep went or not. Who is that? They can't go Levian bell. Can they be it? So I want to see his name is I got picked him up and I needed was an hour ago and I'm having a brain freeze. I'm an album is his last name Jason Williams. Okay. All right. Yeah. No, he's there, guys. Um Yeah, Let's see Running back yet. Tyshon Williams. Yes, Tyshon Williams in it. And remember Baltimore put in a waiver claim, reportedly on Freeman when the Broncos released Royce Freeman so they obviously know that they're hurting in the backfield and kick the tires on belt. Like I said. I think I think it could be a sleeper pick for for Williams this week. Matt Wylie. The Gazette. My guest. Let's backtrack a little bit to tonight's game from the Dallas perspective. You know, we haven't seen a lot of Dak Prescott, but also we kind of think they'll be down. In the game. Um What do you think about Dak? And what do you think about Zeke? Because I would imagine the Cowboys would love to run the football lot if they can stay in it with Tampa. I really like both tonight and I realized both for the season from the from the Dallas perspective. Um, you know, I think they'll be in a lot of shootout. But I think their offense will produce even against the seller defense like camera. So you lie You like that tonight? No hesitation with Dak. Depends on who else I have. But if I dropped the deck, I dropped him to be my number one and I'm going to go with him. You can text in your fantasy football conundrums that 522987 to somebody beat me to Tyson Williams, who beat me to tie some Williams Deng it alright. Uh, let me ask you. You brought you brought up. Um, you brought up going against Tennessee? Would you say that the best Stack of your roster in daily fantasy might be Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins. I do. I do like that game a lot. I mean, Tennessee. There's talk that they're going to try to get their Henry back to back 2000 yard rushing season, So you know they might play the ball control game they might You know, try to keep the ball out of Tyler's hands..
Buccaneers Working to Restructure WR Mike Evans' Contract to Clear Cap Space
"The buccaneers were reportedly working to restructure. Why receiver mike evans contract due to cap space. Suits clear some. He is a sixteen point. Six three seven million dollar cap hit this season and the bucks currently only have to a little over two hundred and seventy thousand cap space. According to the nfl salary cap report so he has three years left on a five year. Eighty two point five million dollars extension so they every structured it. This is the this is. He's restructured the with them several times so this wouldn't be the first time he's restructured to deal with the team. But this is actually very smart. Mike evans is not a player. That you're going to move off of anytime soon so extending his money out giving you some calories. Capped salary cap room and flexibility. And giving him some more time is this is a situation that makes sense. How how great is that. Brady engines career and gets mike evans

So in the first instance can you just give us a sense of the genesis of this megadeal. How did it happen sure Think the channels of the deal was compensation which you i will never forget about the station with daniel jank and the conversation just understand the chinese online luxury market In both electric pavilion was doing private. "Here's a couple of the profits that I do, too. Let's talk about this. You know, you mentioned Mike Evans. Here's one. Nobody knows some unbelievable. They think it's a sausage guy. I go notice Bob Bob. That's right. That's his uncle. I I like the any time. Mike Evans. Touchdown prop You'll get, plus 1 20 on this. Wow, I like it And I'm gonna tell you why, because the one guy Brady looks for more often than pretty much. Anybody else on that team. When they get down near the goal line is Mike Evans. He had the second most targets of any player in the National Football League inside the 10 yard line. During the regular season, He had nine red zone touchdowns and all nine were inside the 10. He's got two touchdowns in the postseason in the Red Zone. You know, most people think it's got to be drunk. It's got to be drunk, and Brady did look his way a lot, but he's got another guy break. That's a good tight end. He does. That's true, and he and they and they threw him the ball. He had a touchdown in Green Bay's Chicago's very old, by the way, Naperville Central for candidates. But Mike Evans gets targeted down there and that offense by Tom Brady more than just about as much about any necks. About what's that for sex for sale Total? Yeah, boy. I think that devil Tampa got five against green baseline. Yeah, and now, But see, the problem is the homes could roll out off the hash marks. Just throw the ball away. So you may have him trapped. He's been trapped 100 times how many times he been caught? I've never I hardly when he could set your shot. I know you are. He knows how to get rid of the ball. It's true. I know, and he's been the most. He was the best, most accurate passer on the run in the NFL this year, so Either knows when to just throw it away, not to attack or he escapes trouble on this side of the ball down the field knows when to slide. Does everything right? He's incredible. Yeah, well, you know what? Just don't get a haircut. I don't get this. These guys going. Why? Wait, wait. Who's going to see them? Are they getting a haircut? Because they were going to do some production work with CBS, and they were going to take photos of these guys or why you are going to the barber shop at one time. Maybe it was, you know, it's just like a routine thing. Wow, that I don't know, but you talk about on the precipice of disaster. Last last you'd all be out and be crazy, right? You know, you had, like 40 guys going to have a home. The old chief's back. Yeah, right. Willie Lanier. Really? On total lack All the old guys come back. Jim. Tyrrell, I got a mom and yeah, you could tell you getting out name y'all. I mean, w Freddy Martin family. Come on. Len Dawson, get the whole get the cigarette in a Fresca. Come on. The GOAT Whisperer: The Man Who Lured Tom Brady To Tampa
"So greg first question. Where are you right now. I have met the media center for the super bowl which is in the tampa convention center. Kinda for all that around downtown tampa but is not quite busy here yet. So it's a little bit still kind of thought out. I'm sure in in forty eight hours. It'll be crazy here. Well greg sunday will be the first time that a super bowl is played in the home city of one of the two competing teams. What is the feeling in tampa right now. In the up to the game as you walk around drive around you feel a super bowl frenzy even in this pandemic couple days city is enjoying a run like it's never had. He had the stanley cup at world series in october. God and now. I think just making the boy. I would have been a big step for this team but see them win. Three road playoff games. And now be as you said in a super bowl in their own stadium. It's been a wild six months for tampa or to be sure we wanted to pick your brain a little bit about the guy who many people credit with building this bucks super bowl team. Gm jason light when he joined the bucks seven years ago. This team was more or less in disarray. How has he rebuilt it. I think he's done a very good job of drafting three touchdown. She'll back to this. First draft is fourteen. Taking mike evans been a pro bowl. Receiver has reset all the receiving records already. Big exclamation shows tied his own tampa bay record with his wealth reception for a touchdown this year. Tom brady just set the new fifteen two starting offensive linemen and their left tackle donovan smith and they're left guard alley pat and then really you look at the last three draft. That's defense has come. I think they have seven. Vincent starters that are from the last three drafts talent collectors. Were finding the right fifth buildings championship team. There's a veteran presence traded for jason pierre paul from the giants and hit on him and consumers thirty four and still a very high level the this is a good mix of young. It's really worth well. Even jason light was putting pieces into place. And you know sort of building the backbone of this team. This team wasn't doing particularly well and nfl. Owners of course are not known for their patients. So why did. The buccaneers stick with light. Even as this team continued to miss the playoffs year after year after year you go back to the end two thousand eighteen and then made the decision to fire dirk cutter coach dirk cutter. He is now officially relieved of his duties by the team. And in this statement. The buccaneers say that gm jason light will lead the new search. So that means light will get. I think in most situations they probably would have moved on from jason light his gm as well. He did really well in that he kind of pulled out an important card. And was there gateway to getting bruce arians. I gotta say jason's main reason. I came back in coaching and i knew how good of an evaluator was having worked with him. And we say we share the same vision workers in arizona in twenty thirteen adding when it came time for the bucks to be looking for a head coach. He kind of got them. In with bruce arians gave the bucks somebody that he knew and trusted. Having a head coach bruce. And the relationship that i have with him is it. I don't know if we'll ever be repeated. He's just such a unique guy. We have such a unique strong bond. That we we get along well. We even argue
Super Bowl LV: The Goat vs The Future
"Well a ref- last time. We talked to you wild card weekend with six playoff games over two days and you pretty much didn't have any time to eat or sleep this weekend. We only had two games both on sunday. So is your home. Look by comparison on a weekend like this much cleaner. I can say that and not only do i have time to eat. I have time to cook. I'm very excited. That's awesome well. Let's start with the early game. The bucks beat the packers. Thirty one to twenty six tampa bay went up twenty eight to ten in this game. What was the key for them building on this big lead. I think a lot of it's just the pressure they were able to produce the packers reduced to having lucas patrick and billy turner on their offensive line and it gets shaquille barrett and jason paul. There really isn't enough. I mean they're used to having a top three offensive line in the nfl. In fact both of those teams are and without that aaron rodgers is under pressure much more often that affected a lot of throws and of a lot more often than we typically see second and eight jerseys. Jason pierre paul. I think that was a big part of it. But also i mean as many times as tampa bay receivers willing to drop the ball. I mean they are better receivers than the packers have in that secondary in that easy pretty good secondary. A huge storyline throughout this game was also the bucks on third down conversions. What did you see from them. So well under pressure a lot of it is just the packers third down defense was just not very well designed and this has been a typical problem for mike patton and his defenses. And i think the that the buccaneers kind of organised out of their game plan around what they would expect to see on third down and so you ended up seeing like for a brief period of time. They had one hundred percent success rate on third down and like a ten percent success rate on first and second down it was kind of nuts. But yeah i think for the most part. They anticipated some blitzes. This saw man coverage they decided. Hey you know i. I think that chris godwin. Or mike evans can beat this guy and this guy was usually kevin king but they were able to win a variety of throughout the game especially on third down where i think things were just a little bit more predictable for them in the second half. Tom brady three interceptions on three consecutive possessions. Third down to brady throws it under pressure. The packers failed to convert the last two of those into any kind of points. How we're the bucks able to hold that lead after three turnovers. Some of it is the individual talent of the players that they've gotten a secondary thing. Carlton davis is really put a stamp on the nfl especially in the postseason. But he's going to be one of those rising players to watch next season that will be identifying and he's played very well but i think some of it is just to have an enormously fast defense and i think was the kind of got a feel for what the packers were attempted to do offensively. They just had a better understanding of what needed to be done. We're the players needed to be in how to hit those landmarks because they weren't really being ton of their defense. From a schematic perspective. They were just kinda getting to their landmarks. a lot. faster. Whether against the runner of the pass the defining play this game was packers coach. Matt leflore making the call to kick a field goal on fourth and goal from the eight yard. Line down by eight points with just over two minutes. Left and tom brady on the other side of that ball. Instead of going forward here on fourth and goal makes this a five point game again really surprised by that decision joe. I thought that they would go for it on fourth down a reef where you land on this decision by matt leflore not to go forward on fourth down. I think it was a really bad decision. And i think you know based off of what my twitter timeline is saying. That's fairly universal agreement. Interestingly wasn't as strong analytical decision to necessarily go for it on fourth down versus kick. And i think you take a look at some of the calculators that are out there and you know it was better to go for it than to kick it. But given the fact that they had three timeouts plus they were ahead of the two minute warning. There's a little bit more time than you. Typically anticipate so from an analytical perspective. It doesn't seem like as bad of a decision. But honestly i think that you take into account some of these situational factors like the fact that the packers have the best red zone offense. Nfl history as far back as her. Dagoes which i think goes all the way back to like. Thank you ninety. I think that plays a role. I think the fact that tom brady is on the other side of the ball with a bevy of weapons and a healthy offensive line. I think that plays a role. And i think kind of every additional bit of context that we add to this decision makes those analytical models a little bit more often favor of going for it instead of kicking that field goal because they needed to have those two scores. It just doesn't really make a lot of sense of the was

"We continue our look at the NFC Championship Game Game one of our championship double header here on Westwood one, and Mike Evans certainly didn't take along to established that rhythm with Tom Brady and enjoyed it really throughout most of the year when you look at The Tampa Bay offense. Let's shove aside last week's game against New Orleans, Tony they had found a tremendous rhythm, playing the way that Brady the way that Bruce Arians kind of envisioned that they were going to be able to play. Saints took him out of that a little bit last week. Can Green Bay do that? I don't know if it was more. The Saints take him out of it. I think it was what Bruce Arians and Brian Lefferts wanted to do. I think they looked at the first game against the Saints in the said, Hey, we had five rushing attempts or eight yards. We have to establish the run. We have to get the run going. Take some heat off Tom Brady and then let him operate off play action pass and take advantage of what the defense gives him because the Saints played a lot of two. I safety which is hard to throw against. If you don't have no running game, and so I thought the game plan was great. Now coming against the Green Bay Packers. Is it the same formula? Well, they still have to run the ball. But I think the matchups outside are a little bit better. Remember Lattimore, the corner for the sainted had Mike Evans number. I mean, it shut him down, and Evans only had one catch for three. R's Now was a touchdown last week. I expect a bigger game out of the guys outside. This week. But do not think for a second that that same formula is gonna be important. If they have to run the ball. They have to get Leonard for that Ronald Jones again. Not huge days, but at least establish that. Because Tom Brady is great, but you go up the Lambo. It's cold, the weather, everything else dropping back 50 times and trying to win that football game is just not gonna work. The traditional word on Tom Brady, dating back more than a decade now has been pressure him and if you can pressure him with four that's your best ability to be able to try to If not slow him down. Get him off track. Have him you know, Firing too quickly Have him misfiring. Is that the strategy? Green Bay's got to go with you. I think it's a strategy for any quarterback. You have to pressure guys. Now It's just even highlighted more when you play against a guy like Aaron Rodgers. We just talked about a segment ago or Tom Brady, who is amazing, greatest of all time at his position as far as winning football games. It's highlighted because if you don't pressure him, he will kill you. He will dissect you. He will find the guys in. It'll be a long day. When you pressure him. He starts coming back to the pack like any quarterback, wood and all the sudden the clock is quicker. His feet move a little bit and again. He's older, so he doesn't have the mobility. And now all the sudden He's you know, he becomes a little bit like everybody else, and I think you got to get after him and try to pressure him in. It's not gonna be an easy task because that offensive line the second half of the year for Tampa has really played. Well. I mean, they've been outstanding last week. Tristen Worth The rookie right tackle completely took Camp Jordan out of the game. So when you take a look at where it is, right now, the question is for Green Bay. Is it a matter of Trying to strike hard strike fast or is it trying to sit back and give bend But don't break? Well, you tell you gotta try just to win with four initially because the danger is if you start trying to blitz and Brady pre reads it well, he's gonna know where to go with the ball. He's gonna have the answer. So you gotta be careful but seeing him too much. You're really gonna have to try with one with four and I think that's how Green Bay starts the game..
How the Tampa Bay Buccaneers upset the New Orleans Saints to advance to the N.F.C. championship game.
"Drew brees tom. Brady eighty five years worth of quarterbacks second quarter at six three saints and then dan fish huge mistake by brief. Yeah first of all the internal pressure and second of all the physical. Play at the line of scrimmage by murphy bunting getting physical with the receiver michael thomas undercutting that outraged by drew brees. That throw was a huge tone. And that. I love the to mike evans big body in the red zone. Stay in between the quarterback and defensive back touchdown tampa bay for cash in ten six tampa ensuing drive seats trying to respond. This is james winstons. First career playoff past and dan take a look at the triggering. Yeah love the beautiful design and then trey smith leaking down the middle field. But this is really about everyone paying attention to alvin kamara. Watch the tailback in. How many blocks defenders run that way. They lead tricon smith on blocked out here. You big cat. Take great play designed by matt. Nagy that sean payton carries over to yesterday saints thirteen. Ten is the advantage there. Bucks get a field goal. So we're tied up at halftime first. Possession of the second breeze to smith again beautiful. Throw we've seen so much by drew. Brees that incites thought. Fade carry into the sideline touchdown new orleans but then later in the third dan. This play changed the entire game. It's incredible winco junior yet. Tampa new orleans wins. The right they get that slant because it's man coverage but just watch that right hand come in on that back side punch to finish that playoff for tampa bay's defense. That ball bounces right to their defender to huge turnover for them saints turnovers and the bucks cashing in. That was the story of the game. Here's brady that's leonard. Four bucks tied up at twenty cook knows. That mistake was critical. Comes another one dan. Although this one clearly seems to be miscommunication yeah really. It's really just trying to get a vertically route to evan chimera out of the backfield but what happens is never liked. Does a remarkable job of playing with vision onto drew brees patient and then no wasted movement snaps drives on that football before kamera ever turns around and drew knows that was a terrible decision. Saints third turnover leads to this brady takes it himself. Tom brady giving the bucks a thirty to twenty lead. Only the rap isn't excited about it and one last chance now. Desperation time for freeze. That is tipped in the air. And that is all she
Brady, Bucs, end playoffs for Saints, Brees, 30-20
"Tom Brady threw for a hundred ninety nine yards and two touchdowns while Tampa bay's defense forced four turnovers which resulted in twenty one points as the Buccaneers beat the saints thirty to twenty to advance to the NFC championship game next week against the Packers at Lambeau field Brady threw a short scoring strikes down Leonard Fournette and Mike Evans after losing twice to the saints during the regular season Brady was happy with this win but now it's time to move on we have great chemistry with five practice it's hard to get to this point there's nothing guaranteed from this point forward but you know we gotta go out there we got a our very best to to be one of the best teams only drew Brees threw a touchdown pass but he was also intercepted three times in what might be his final game with the saints after fifteen seasons I'm Craig heist

And I know the idea that's out there that the Chiefs are just gonna flip a switch, but I like Nick Chubb. I like Karim Hunt. I like this. This Brown's team playing with no pressure to go on the road and perform well, I am taking the Browns plus 10. But I'm also taking the over 57. I think that they're going to be a lot of points scored would not surprise me of both teams here. Go for 30. I think the chief's win. I just think 10 is too steep. Yeah, I'm really torn on the side. But I definitely agree with the over here because Kansas City off Abi, with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid as a combination. They score well over 30 points a game, So I think Kansas City's got that side covered, and I think Cleveland And run the ball against Kansas City. So I think 10 is probably about right. Maybe a little high, but I definitely like the over the best on this one. All right. And then the final game Sunday bucks on the road at the Saints. I love the bucks, plus three and I also like the over 52. I think the bucks are going to dictate pace here. I like them being on indoors in the dome. It's been a long time since they played in this dome. Remember Week one of the season. I know the saints have had the Bucks number I even know That historically, the third time is generally not the charm. The team that won the first two typically wins the third, but I like the way this bucks offenses playing. I like the idea of Antonio Brown, Chris Godwin. And certainly Mike Evans, Rob Gronkowski, Cameron break Brady is playing really, really well. I think they will put.

NFL Playoff Futures: Who will make the 2020 post-season?
"Wanted to talk about playoff odds and not not. Just who's gonna make the playoffs but also the nfc the nfc's a really weird place. The saints are plus three fifty to win this to in the nfc. None of us like the saints even are as good as they looked last week against tampa. There's still this unease with because breezes arm strength. It just makes me nervous. I'm starting to talk myself into the saints. Okay yeah okay so a couple of things number one. Smart people in july and august said wait until brady gets half a season under his belt and they're going to get better you know. No one cares. More about the details. And tom brady doesn't have a training. Camp does not as doesn't put pads on till till august fifteenth. He's gonna get better and better and better and so week one when when the bucks and the saints played. I threw that out. I said this this doesn't matter bracing to get better and better better. This was the closing the gap game for me. And then i didn't see that and obviously they were there whipped everywhere you know. Ali maher pet being out was a big thing with with with with people who started the game. But i think that this was bigger than than alley marquette quite frankly okay The the saints were able to get a four man rush the entire game. Are they able to pressure brady on half of his dropbacks when they had a four man rush. That's really good Since marcus davenport's come back in week five had the most pressures in football pressuring and football There's just something there. The problem at the beginning of the year was that lattimore and marcus williams were bad and those are two pretty good players and i think that you know a good pass rush. Ken console that those guys can get better and so with with brees. Listen there are. There are problems with the fact. You can't throw down the field. The offensive line is not as good as it has been in years hospice and matter with brees because he gets rid of the ball and a second. It's like peyton manning he doesn't need you know the the the best offensive line in the world and then lattimore who we were kind of dunking on because at one point he was giving almost a perfect passer rating. He owns mike evans. He own them. He is not given up a reception. Mike evans the last three games. They've played and so when if those guys play in the playoffs again. There's that match up. So i i don't. I'm feeling better about the saints. Now that i was two three weeks ago. Good coaching staff. I gary coaching staff. Yeah so the fear in this isn't just the saints but the fear is all right. What happens at their downtown in a playoff game. It's basically the lamar jackson corollary. How am i feeling down. Thirteen to three in the second quarter and they've just done a three and out. What were my emotions in that moment. That's my the saints because a breeze. I think that because they don't you don't think they're capable of a big play. Is that your fear if teams though like all right. They've got to air this out. They've got to quicken the pace and also it's amazing to me a cameras probably been the. Mvp think it's either him cook mahomes berry some order Okay i'm amazed at teams aren't just like all right. We're taking him out like bell. Check in his prime your. He got added as kids to the coaching staff and decided to throw a fight street. Drafts fail check All he would do me like chimeras not beating me. You can have everyone else on the saints. I'm not getting beat by that guy. I'm falling everywhere he goes. We're hitting him constantly. He's not beating me. Why don't teams do that with them. I don't get it okay. So first of all they have a of weapons. Thanks so she when michael. Thomas is healthy There's a lot they can do their you know. I think peter king early breakdown. His column this week about there was a play where the bucks dropped eight men into coverage and it was a weird play. They had their fullbacks put out wide and brees hit a random tight end. Adam traveling for a touchdown even throwing into eight men like that. There's just something their breezes still really really good so. I think it's a bit simplistic to say. Just take away kamara because they can do other stuff And they can. They can change their game plan so

"The ball is coming out of a breeze hand when he gets contacted by Shaquille Barrett, But when Drew Brees is arm starts going forward, the football was still like in front of his hands, so that's what allowed it to push forward. It definitely came out. The left arm by Shaquille Barrett ends up knocking the football breezes hand but a big break one that Tampa desperately needed the first real pressure that we've seen against Drew Brees, and it works. You mentioned shack here he had to quarterback pressures that led the interceptions last week in the Giants game. Maybe this a jumpstart Tampa. They've got it in 21 in New Orleans. Tom Brady got dubs it underneath outside for Ronald Jones, and he's taken down right in the line of scrimmage. Coming up to make the tackle CJ Gardener Johnson was watching. On this side of the formation the right side of the formation. Antonio Brown comes in motion towards the tackle box and looked like he flinched a little bit before the end of the going up field. They didn't call anything but I thought maybe they'd end up getting him for a false start. Now, second down and Tim after New Orleans first turnover tonight. Brady has thrown two interceptions in the first half goes to work here out of the shotgun pressure, he adds. Throws bought at the 10 Yard line is Calling it in is Mike Evans. He's a little slow to get up. Have to wonder if that finger on that might get other evidence is a little slow to get up. It was the finger of God when the injury but I don't know what happened immediately when he caught this pass and went down to the ground kind of motion to the sideline that something did not feel right for him. Couldn't really tell. They just showed a replay of it. But he comes off the sidelines, not going back to the bench or anything like that. But he's getting attention from a couple of trainers first and goal from the nine he was holding his right groin injury area Now Lady clothes for the endzone incomplete but a flag noise. Jenkins was in coverage of Rob Gronkowski. Pass was well short of Gronkowski. But the flag coming in here is John Husi best interference. Defense number. 20 occurred in the endzone ball in place of the one yard line Automatic first down, So it is on Jake. It's so great position here for the Bucks and good news. If you're a Tampa Bay fan that Mike Evans is back in the game. Just needed to shake something off comes out to the right side of the formation. Ronald Jones in the back field for the one yard line first goal. Brady's gonna fill a fade out for Evans incomplete Lattimore with coverage, but that past was nowhere near my given A lot of times. You see, Brady and his receivers go to the back shoulder throw that quarterbacks work on so much, but that time Brady was trying to throw the traditional fade going to that back right pile out of the end zone. Evans tied up the line of scrimmage is not able to create any separation. Good to see you back out there after reaching for the droid area on the previous Ronald Jones again in the backfield, ball right Hash one. Tampa Bay scoreless 10 22 3rd. Jones gets the hand off straight ahead on his stopped short. We got maybe a foot. So that'll bring up third and goal. Be willing to bet this is gonna be another one of those four down situations. You're down 31 way to score a touchdown. They're gonna bring give their heavy package into the game will be surprised if we see a quarterback sneak here from Tom Brady has done that so many times throughout his career. I have two rushing touchdowns this season. 9 49 and rolling third quarter 31 to nothing. New Orleans leading Tampa finally get on the board here. Lady under center takes the snap fakes a handoff complete in and out of the hands of Rob Gronkowski Rock has caught touchdowns in three straight games. But that time the linebacker Demario Davis got a hand in the cookie jar did knock it free, fourth down while the ball looked like he was thrown behind Gronkowski a little bit His New Orleans was anticipating run. They really stacked up their line of scrimmage, and there was no Gronkowski had a step on Demario Davis. But this ball if it's thrown out front, there's no way that Davis gets the right hand on the football. Frustrated Tom Brady now faces 1/4 and goal as you suggested, they will go for it with Brady in the gun, this time to the one yard line. Motions. Gronkowski to the right side takes the snap looks throws left side jump ball for Evans incomplete and there is no Martian Lattimore in coverage. Evans was looking around, saying, Where is the flag? Where's the flag? He won't get it and it's a turnover on down Wow, a goal line stand and everything continues to go the way of the say's. They lead it 31 to nothing with 9.5 left. "Godwin role and how explosive this team is when Chris Godwin place because you have to roll coverage. So Mike Evans, you have to make sure you cover the tight end. And then he gets some one on one matchups, or even when Scotty Miller is healthy. Antonio Brown could be That guy or Antonio Brown is gonna make you make a choice as the defense of red of the double Mike Evans or him. So that means one of these guys, one of these all the time talents, one of these Pro Bowl all pro caliber wide receivers is going to get one on one matchups. And when they had that extra guy, they beat people by 18. They beat people by 28. They beat people by 25. That's the type of team this becomes. Once you get that one extra piece and Chris Godwin is really good. Don't get me wrong. But Antonio Brown was the best wide receiver we had ever seen for six years statistically, and he's coming back to play and no. One word I heard to describe him when he's been seen in Tampa is phenomenal. And if Antonio Brown is phenomenal for Antonio Brown is close to what he used to be. This team is going to be extremely dangerous offensively. That's a scary scary thought, because obviously they've been scary without him to this point, and you add to your point Ryan, a guy who when he's right Has a ceiling that very few wide receivers of his time or any time really have played, too. So that's the million dollar question. How can he Can he keep his mind right and played to his level on the field? You could He change how you view them. Ultimately, if he's phenomenal, or do they do they have a notch above anyone else? They are different. They they are different if they had they changed. If he changes as V P. I mean, think about it. He's been extremely quiet off of the field lately. We haven't heard Antonio's brown name other than what Team he would sign with after the eight week eight week of the season. And so now we see him and so when you look at Antonio Brown if he's different if he truly understand his back is against the wall, he could help this team win a Super Bowl. "Throws broken. Robinson had it for a moment. Davis knocked it away and Davis may have injured himself on that play. I'm just shocked it threw the ball. I thought they'd hand the ball off in force bucks to use their last time out and then run the clock down about 30 seconds or whatever would be and kicked the game winning field goal. But instead with the incompletion Tampa Bay gets to hang on to the time out with a minute 22 left, right. How do you not just spin the clock? Like Had Brady not done what he was about to Dio. What Chicago did right? There might've been the dumbest thing ever. The hell were they doing on that place? The hell were they doing? Throwing the ball right there. If you call a pass there, you're better completed because if you don't, which is exactly what happened, You stop the clock for the bucks. And then you put more time on the clock for Brady. And you keep Brady in the game. And sure enough, that's exactly what happened because after the Bears kick that field goal to take that 2019 lead Tom Brady gets the ball back with 1 13 left needing on Ly a field goal to win. Now, remember how I mentioned that Brady had won 42 straight games when he had a lead of 13 or more. Here's another stat for you. He led 59 game winning drives in the fourth quarter and over time going to that moment, the most by anybody since the NFL merger and he goes right to work, right? 12 yard completion to Mike Evans. He gets out of bounds. He stops the clock incomplete pass to Mike Evans, a short completion, another incompletion, setting up this play box playing without God. Watson.

I have to tell that story so that Bruce Bruce Brad Kowski with this year former quarterback, Pff analyst, So Mike Evans is now doubtful. A plane. Khalil Max. Questionable other injuries that you think we'll have a real impact on week one. What do you think, Bruce? You know, it is a shame with Mike Evans because they've been put so much work in this office to get ready to play. And I can't wait to see Tom Brady and what this offense looks like, You know, because Guys know Tom Brady is great, but it's also he had to learn a new language off season, right And there's no O th There's no mini camp. So I was talking earlier about how It's just a matter of how fast you can process that you know, because of New England. If he has to change might call and change the offense line from going to the right to the left. It could have been Larry And now it could be Leo. And there's just little nuances that you got. It processes that fast and route adjustments and all that. I mean, it's Tom Brady. Yo, he's mentally sharp. He's a student of the game. He works his tail off more than anyone. But that's going to be an adjustment and you got Sean Payton and Drew Brees on the other side that basically finished each other senses. So my money's kind on them this weekend, I think Drew breathing. The same handled Tampa Bay, but I think overall, I think camp picks it up and eventually they're going to win that division. "Plus yeah drew Brees Mike Evans J. miss Winstead all full David Boies Sam so that's my only argument what do you think my man wait so you're about Spanish you tell me I guess we lost Rico he says he's a bucket here makes it seem like he's a member of the football team I personally and I like Mike Evans a lot and you know I've seen his story before I'm I'm a big fan of of Mike Evans and I think he's gonna have an unbelievable year this year what did he say yeah but my cabins left catches more yards that's not true my cabins and I know I got hurt at the end of the year one thousand one fifty seven yards this past year and Michael Thomas it's summer over seventeen hundred yards now career wise yes Mike Evans has more yards you seventy two seven thousand two hundred plus yards seventy two hundred plus yards that was over six years ago Michael Thomas has been the lead for four years and Michael Thomas in the lead for four years has five thousand five hundred and twelve yards and thirty two touchdowns avances Bennell league for six years seven thousand two hundred and sixty yards to be exact and forty eight touchdowns Evans is a heck of a player and now he gets a significant upgrade at quarterback going from Winston to Brady I put evidence though if I had to rank this if you ask me the receivers that I would want for this upcoming year and then we go in order now I would say Hopkins one I would still portfolio to I will go Michael Thomas three then Mike Evans for and if I have to pick a fifth I'm basically deciding yeah you can probably go Tyree kill those right now would they be not in the picture then AJ green just been hurt too many years and that has been the same AJ green I would say your five best receivers in football and then you could you come over in any order that you want if we're being fair you could move them in any order that you want because they say the Hopkins is one you could just make as compelling a case that Julio Jones Michael Thomas and Mike Evans are Tyree kill should be one for Hopkins and I know you look at the entirety of the career and the question is entering twenty twenty and I like that combination of him and calamari I I just look at Hopkins and this is a guy the two things that stand out the most about him was that twenty fifteen season when he was playing with absolute garbage at quarterback and what your mallet Yates in Wheaton and he had over a hundred and ten catches over fifteen hundred yards eleven touchdowns that's absurd plane with those four quarterbacks Julio Jones said that right now that doesn't mean Julio Jones is in a great receiver at the ludicrous to say that Michael Thomas to go five games last year without drew Brees has that drew Brees Mike Evans okay hi James wants to no one supposed twenty yard you suppose a lot of interceptions still and you have the speed of Tyreek hill as well but when I look at the five receivers Hopkins Jones Thomas Evans and Tyreek hill and I really do believe that Odell Beckham is gonna have a monster this year the Bombay Adams is going to need to have another monster year and stay healthy because just bringing in Devin Funchess for the Packers is not enough to to really maybe I don't say limit his reps but spread that football little bit more thank you a god when I think it's gonna have a big year to another big year now playing the Brady here's one that very very underrated and we all we know that he's a good player but probably doesn't get the credit that he deserves because of the football team that he plays for I remember that quarterback situation was it usually not a disaster was a disaster last year Kenny Golladay Kenny Golladay last year that you know he was someone that had sixty five receptions almost twelve hundred yards eleven touchdowns that that is damn impressive where he goes in last year and play sixteen games and wanted staffer get hurt let me let me see how many games Stafford played last year before he went out for the rest of the season now you get staffer baxo galleries numbers even go up more but Stafford last year in twenty eighteen nineteen Matthew Stafford played a total of it was eight games the season gala day is playing with not good to put it nicely not good quarterbacks we have like David Blough on the field at what point so that was a situation where last year where blah they played five games validate very impressive to but yeah five receivers best wide receivers in the league Hopkins.

"Is it worth making that risk when like mike evans and joe mixon what's joe mixing upside is his upside if he has a career joe mixon taibbi if he has like the best version of joe if he puts puts out the best version of joe mixon. Is it that much better than mike evans. It's what mike evans does every year so i think i would look at that and kind of wade out without say. I'm just gonna take mike evans who's more of a sure thing <hes> but i would also also say that part of it would be impacted by who i take in the first round because like we've been talking about. We love the receivers in rounds four through bruce seven or so if i if i get a receiver if i get an adams or a julio were michael thomas hopkins or somewhere in that range a more likely to give joe mix six in a more serious consideration but i will say i you know i can already. I'm going to look further into this same play different round episode but levy on bell joe mixon send you get joe mixing our full round later than levian bell and you know probably the same player in the chamber. Take bell but obviously you were talking about around difference. I think it sounds sounds decent on paper. I've taught my head not great offenses. You know is really going to have that many more targets than mix in probably but maybe not a time john let me just wrap up here with more. Just kind of following up on this show makes them think kind of just tracking his compares against wide receivers joe mixing or cheonan joe mixon. Okay yeah okay so there's five players that is on the list something for everyone to think about look at see how many people you're already targeting. <hes> you know if you're in a dynasty leak and you get some of these people. I don't know it's an interesting wait to think quickly evaluate someone it's the path system points age team and health and you can download the full sheet of of the cream of the crop. There's not too many players but this is. This is exactly what i wanted. I want a full list of <hes>. Here's seventy five players meet this requirement. I wanted to be very very you know. Exclusion like small and it's only thirty seven players on it now. What do you think about my gavin's instruction. You agree with you just because a lot of things you said joe mix in for mike evans is on the list right so he's a path player player. I'm picking a path player over another path player but you know joe. Mixon is kinda like qualifies for it because he hasn't played enough years in the n._f._l. Joe makes it could easily go. Go out there. Play fourteen games finished twenty four and boom. He's a bona fide path player <hes> but i agree in terms of overkill now too so he's he's right in right in the middle of that for me so go ahead and wrap up the show there on friday. We have the same player different round. Seth is going to be bringing it with his list as he does every year. I'm excited to see it <hes>. It's our epic saint player different round till then talk to you guys later with the n._f._l. Talking heads thanks so much for listening to this episode of the n._f._l. "Louis in Los Angeles Rams again Cleveland Browns and now the jets so he's he's about coach for half the League. Yeah keep job. Oh Man oh without you. Get back with all or nothing real quick. I'm GonNA touch on this. There was a game against the foul pins where a number eleven Tories Smith hit Cam Newton as he was sliding hit him in the head and yet is the one that got injected. Yes okay now. During that play Number Eleven Twenty Smith Hips Number Twenty seven a Democracy Casey Hits Newton as he slide hits him and the head. Everybody gets an uproar. We'll number eleven from Carolina Toy. Smith runs over and shoves Diamante Casey now Tori Smith got a personal foul for that it but he didn't get ejected and he didn't get to spend it and then number ninety eight McKinley attackers McKinley from Atlanta. He came in at hit number eleven. Your Mike Evans Hint Marshon Lattimore in the saints game and they suspended for a game afterwards we need to do that here. I don't know I was flown out of the game twenty-seven allocating the head on Cam Newton right but then the other guy comes in number laboratory Smith and hits I think it was a fight between two guys and they're throwing blows and one retaliates that's when they'll inject a both but I think I only got ojected because of the hit on Cam Newton not because of the fight with the other Guy Roy Ghost he gets objective but why wasn't Tori Smith ejected for a hitting twenty seven to Monday Qaisy. It's just like when Evans came over and shove lattimore. Everyone's got a game suspension for that knows so. What did you say any of that with this? I don't know I was thinking that whole exchange in Lattimore didn't like Davis Polk turned around and that's when Evans clocks them great extent. There's video of the children that are arguing about whether it's raining or spring-clean they're like little it went viral. You have to look at it and the one kid goes you poked my heart makes me think of he gets really upset because pokes them in the chest he could you see poked my heart any out to me. It just shows how were the red-headed stepchild for the N._F._l.. When crept link that happens every team in the N._F._l.? Sounds real the team are idiots and they're wrong. Speaking of the Falcons they the free they they're free agent safety J._J.. Wilcox they just signed in the off-season tour his A._C._l.. Won't play the whole season. They got a defensive end it. Didn't they Alan Bailey. They signed him to a two year five point two five million deal from he was he was a former chief defensive now just Sunday on their line. It sounds like they're gonNA need some depth on Jim. Medicine up over there in training camp has started but that was practice on the twenty second Wilcox. was he a rookie now. He's been all around the league he gets around around are are injured guys. We touch on this briefly with Justin Evans. The guys that we put on the populace is the physically unable to perform list. It was not just Justin Evans. It was also Jack Cinci outside Linebacker acker David Kenny and wide receiver Exhibitor Kubo See those guys need to step it up because I'm telling you are not gonNa make the team being on the list if you're not out there practicing and showing areas you stuff. You're not gonNA save your already got cut. Oh that's right because we signed. We signed two guys. We signed an undrafted rookie cornerback mazzy Wilkins he played at plant. I Dunno where that is in U._S._F.. And he was a triumph triumph player at our mini camp in May and then we also signed tight end Troy Nicklaus who played for Bruce Arians Arizona from twenty four eighteen to twenty seventeen so he's GonNa Compete for backup tight end job. Tom Tight end. This is the guy that the thad quote when Talking About Bruce Arians coaching style he said quote he gets my name confused with down motherfucker a lot. There worried said that at his press conference today he said if you're going to bring you kids out to the training camp. You might want to put some ahead. Moss Airbus plug their ears. It's not going to be family might hear some language as opposed to hear out there. Oh and he said no music you did you see that in the all or nothing with the panthers they just got stopped and came Newton. Their practice goes over to the D._J.. Center or whatever it was ahead over there pretty puts on this pop song. Oh No no what it was T._l._C.. Thank you okay. I'm pretty well. I'm a millennials on that. One talking about of course Greg Olsen knows all the words he's over there seeing it I I'm singing it to ignore and Greg Olsen singing and he's like trying to get all pay attention. It's going I know other words basically so Cam Newton goes on he's blast and then it's an Thomas gets pissed off because apparently he's like hey we should be out of your haven't flown. He hated the song it was the song he's the fun police. He's the that turns it off and then walks all the people at the team anymore that joking yeah the defensive coordinator you gone. Oh Brian Linger signed with the Texans he did Bruce Arians was talking about the kicker situation in its press conference sounds to me like Matt. Gay is the favorite to win this one the way he said it yeah he's looking for. I'm looking for somebody that can kicked long. Make a long line when we need it at fifty plus yarder which that is not Cairo Santa's didn't he kick a really kick like a fifty three yard game winning Field Goforth last unit ONA saves against McCain Remember improbably but he doesn't have the leg that gave us I guess for for what we've heard right as apparently hiccup afoot talking about raised roof in the practice facility because he's going to one. They're not using that anyway. Maybe maybe that's why because he can't he keeps hitting the ceiling. He's a kicker. He's not opponent. He's hitting the roof. Is that good I don't. I don't know if it's good but it is so what he's got a strong leg. I think there are being facetious funny sarcastic. I like how you you gotTA. Give me a synonym for your big words. Oh my dummy J._p.. Got On the top one hundred list number sixty five. It just came out like fifteen minutes ago the sixty thou- not bad I'm glad did you put on a Gerbil coordinating. I know but I it's going to be all year. I've been coming up without buccaneers drinking game for the for the season he then this and I was just thinking we do over the podcast where you gotta take a drink every time you mentioned John McCall away to sloshed edit. It was ranked seventy fifth on this stupid N._F._l.. Top One hundred live okay here. We are good for J._p.. He got number sixty five this. This is awesome stupid when people but I mean Joe McCoy stance any better they were listening to seventy fifth now make it on their last year mccoo since these things are just popularity contests just like a pro bowl. Did you hear that Mark Sanchez is officially retiring. No no no football is one of the greatest N._F._l.. History like his best season spectator because this is my favorite Jon Gruden moment ever Ralph and I about died and now seen in a Monday night football game when Sanchez is he with the jets or the eagles jets and it's a crappy game for Sanchez like he's just getting stopped and you know how Jon Gruden basically okay kisses everyone's ass when he's announcing the game and it's bad for Mark Sanchez and he's sitting on the sideline. He's looking at a binder. He's got his hands his heaven his hands to sit like kinda clutch attended hair like pulling his here a little bit and Jon Gruden goes. I don't know what's going on with Mark Sanchez. It looks like he's doing calculus down. There and Ralph and I like look at each other to Jon Gruden. Just call Mark Dumb. The the playbook was just too much for him was bad. Never forget that but I was watching that game you were sleeping on your member. Meet Waking you up and being you've got to see play. He just fumbled the ball. uh-huh running into his offensive line was hilarious. He had that one good season and he just looked like he could be an elite quarterback. They get to the N._F._C. Championship lives and then it was all they are the jets are just the shit organization from top to bottom. They're just bad ownership Batman everything they don't. They don't care in their division. They'RE GONNA wait till go belichick. Tom Brady die before even try and retire higher. They'RE GONNA die. It's win. Nobody remembers those two then that's when the jets might actually start trying to win games but I wouldn't play for the jets for nothing. I'm play where for the browns before I play for the jets. Go to the jets as your career dies. I can't think of anybody the early come from the jets that does done anything poor todd bowles he goes there. It just gets dumped on for three or four years for years and you know I mean he's brought good coach but just they just horrible for him. Sanchez had stood no chance no chance and then by the time he'd left the jets. He was ruined. Yeah John Jets just a bad bad organization. They're right. I think if you rank like as far as organizations are concerned Miami's up there to WHO with a bad organisation ownership and all that stuff front office put jets are just. I don't know man it's special fan. Do you think they're like the red-headed stepchild of New York City 'cause they have the that attitude of being the debt like the working class by the Blue Collar New York team there the bargain bin Pittsburgh steelers players on their team but speaking of Pittsburgh steelers in be as press conference today remember during our quarterback whisperer podcast he was talking about Lou Gehrig and the other guy wally while he pippen and that wally was the starter the starter he got hurt. Lou gehrig comes in while he didn't start another game. Never missed a game for nineteen years or some crippling right just totally took his job. Nobody's Sir Pinson right you. Lou gehrig is a household name sal be like to tell the story to his players say so don't get hurt. Someone's GonNa take your job. Don't get hurt. Someone's GonNa take your job and be be prepared to take somebody's job yeah. He said that in the press conference today that the the Most Valuable Player on the team is the guy that's ready to fill in for the guy that gets hurt so he also said he needs to come up with a news story because no one knows who gary against all these young. You guys have a clue who is talking about and whippersnappers. Stay on my lawn media-bashing here typically time..

I didn't have any speaking. Yeah. So you're not there's a snooty girl even in the cast. You probably a line. Does it say, Mike Evans, Mike headlines? It does not really the shooting guard, Mike Evans or Mike, Mike Evans. Our Hollywood FOX morning show down was in the movie. Vast have cast listed alphabetically. Mike Kevin now, but Laurence Fishburne has named in it. Now, Mike, I'm really good basketball players. Reggie Theus was in there. He didn't have any lines. Either Bernard king, of course, who's a legend Warren in their data. King is in their Reggie Theus dated Juanita Jordan before she was Juanita Jordan. And I think MJ may have stolen her from him knocked her up and now three kids one hundred sixty seven million dollars later. Really? Yeah. She's married or not married. They were married till they got divorced. MD reportedly had to pay hundred sixty seven. Let's go Stephen. Hello. Steven you're on KOA I-. Well, that movie was about Rams quarterback died, and then they took him out too early took him out of the body in any came back as a rich guy. Leo farnsworth. Yeah. Yeah. Ninety to put him into and. Backup quarterback got hurt. And they put him in his body at the end. Okay. I vaguely remember it. I I watched the movie back then. And I thought it was pretty good damn good. You could say that. That's all right. Thanks, david. Thanks for calling. What what about Wildcats Wildcats is high on my list is that a basketball move now? Goldie Hawn coach he's a coach Wesley Snipes. Woody harrelson. I didn't see that one. Great. Okay. Nipsy? Russell plays our principal. Nipsy? Russell trying to sell peanut brittle by the way. Whether so bad in Scottsdale, rocky, spring training had to move indoors. Wow. That's how bad it is there right now. Well. Yeah..

Week is do we give everything away or weird? Al tickets to give away. Yeah. When that's the thing we technically had those yesterday that would have rolled over. But nobody can pick them up. This weekend, right and the building's closed. The building is closed. Well, I mean, someone's here in case someone won a prize. But we don't think somebody's here. Says DOE come in. I got a message back from from Mike Evans. I I hit about said that I heard that. That's how you guys know must have must have kept that to yourself. What do you mean what he's weird? What are you? What you want him to do? Oh, I'm just talk or. Better in the corner. All creeped out. I think the perception is wrong here. I would do the same thing if I'm getting tires. I I don't have an obligation to make conversation with anybody want to sit there until you get my tires done. Well, if I knew who he was and he just look weird weird. So that's why they call where down I guess I'll man I hate going to win the Super Bowl. Okay. Get lost seventy seven five seven nine five. What's weird is supposed to do? How was this guy being when he was looking at weird Al kid like what do you want to put on a show waiting for tires? God. I don't know. But who gives a cr-? Crap. Right. They're fun. So. And there's Mike Evans, you know. Super-duper professional, Mike. We're just recording a by product. Who was that? I don't know you want me to answer it answered on the show. Hello. Yeah. No, don't you ever. Call me again. I hold. You sounds like one of his kids told you. He's a great bother me alone super father. He's the best. I only parent a couple of days. Couple of hours a day. Leave me alone show them. Yeah. Those damn kids. Our kids right now. Millennials your kids are millennials millennials? They're standing twelve does that make them. Or is there? A new probably knew why is there? We gotta find that out there or do you don't need a nickname until you annoy the piss out of people. And then they finally give you a nickname. So we're just to piss us. All right. We'll give them won't be like these little sons of Beijing. This weekend. I am. I mean, I'm excited for this. I think this is I think there's no losers in this week in one of the things like like there's the old guard. There's Tom Brady. There's drew Brees, you know, forty and forty one respectively guys, we know we're going straight to the hall of fame. And then there's this new guard with golf, and you know, with Patrick Mahomes, are they the next are they going to lead the next generation of these corvettes, you remember the AFC was either Tom Brady or was Peyton Manning winning championships, you know, sprinkle in a flak on a Rothlisberger. Every now, and again, but are these going to be the next kind of generation that takes us, you know, that takes us through the next two decades to see the torch passed or d kind of want to claim the little nostalgia for one more Super Bowl. I, you know, I actually I'm. I'm torn because because I know that breezing Brady you're going to the hall of fame, and I know about their greatness, but I'm actually really excited about kind of this next generation of of quarterbacks is next generation of football players. I, you know, it's it's fun. I mean, if we went back in even though I'm old school, and I didn't necessarily like the offense of fireworks of the match up between Kansas City and Los Angeles earlier in the season. Eight really is the way the NFL has pushed and the owners have pushed for this this game to look, right? I mean, it was kind of their perfect. They're perfect storm scenario on that Monday night when those two matched up. It was hey, we've we've tried to, cultivate, this younger generation of football fan. This. This generation of football fans at grew up on Madden and grew up on fantasy football. And the game looked exactly like it does on Madden. And you know this. Is really exciting for us. So that would be kinda cool. So the NFL you think is rooting NBC is route on NBC CBS is gonna get gonna do the Super Bowl. You think they're rooting for Kansas City in the Rams, I think they wouldn't that wouldn't disappoint them. I think the probably the best the year to get ratings regardless. But probably the best match up if you will just from markets L A, obviously to me they want to promote Los Angeles. They want Los Angeles. The NFL does to be a big football market. You know, they've got the Rams that that are great. They've got the chargers now that they'll eventually move to that new stadium out of that soccer stadium. So I think they have they have their they have a desire for the for LA to be a major football hub. They they want that to happen especially considering there is no bigger front running market than LA bright. So the best way to get Los Ange in Los Angelenos, Los Angelenos cited, Los Angeles Z's. Is to probably Los Angeles Abaquin like down the Super Bowl that they can all front run and get behind right?.

"Winston and Mike Evans. It's great news for Godwin. It look you could paint one hundred pictures of what James Winstons off season looks like it's as good as it gets. Yes. Sorry, Jack nickel. I. Let the Helen hunt movie too. Is that Brooks can you confirm? The is that correct. Yeah. I know you're a big Helen hunt guy. Yeah. I think that's guess fair enough. Look the big question for me is look, Jamie. God James Evans, a Chris God when that's very exciting OJ. How're OJ Howard is the biggest question Mark because he was ascending. I was ready to have him has an era. Traditionally been a non tight end guy. Yes. And that's that's the prompt asked. The problem is will the offensive scheme overcome James Winstons propensity to target the tight end position heavily OJ Howard was on the direct precipice of a massive breakout. This year before he went onto the I R. You would help that airings will not get in the way, but it is worth monitoring. Certainly it's exciting. Jameis Winston future. Though airings is just he's a vertical passing guy. He's not going. He's going to be a players coach. Which is what we said three or four episodes ago about Winston you need somebody in his corner. You know, you need somebody in his corner. So ESPN's verse Mortenson reporting it Antonio Brown. I wasn't done with the bucks. Oh, you aren't. 'cause I just had no thought is this a rhyme or some sort of pun do want it to be. No, no. I don't Ronald Jones. Yeah. Not a pass catching running back. No. And Bruce Arians likes his running backs to be workhorse guys. Who can also catch the ball? Is that how you view pain, Barbara though? Or are you looking at them making a fight change? That's just bringing that up that that Ronald Jones would certainly be a hot topic of conversation as we move in. What what are the what does the team to a pain? Barber does Ron Jones second round pick. Does it get the opportunity, but that is going to be a struggle for Ronald Jones? And and pass protection that's huge for Bruce Arians to get guys on the field. Yeah. Yeah. This is big news too. Because we weighed in. In on the last episode Chris Mortensen thinks there's a high probability and Tony Brown is traded. This is crazy. I think on the last show, you you had the highest percentage chance that you thought he was going to be traded by reading the tea leaves Mortenson saying this look it's going to be a very interesting off season. Now, I believe is it March second when his he has his hits. No, no. But he just gets a two million dollar bone. Right. But it's in their advance. I it's in their best interest to trade him before that could have. That's what I had read e it's all over the place. So because there's also the waiting until June first. So then they can start. They can split up the dead cap. Yeah. So I'm I'm not exactly sure what they view as the best foot forward. But if they if they honestly think this team is so negatively impacted by Tonio Brown. What would you can you imagine? It's going to be. I mean a year ago. Right. We start. We started this past season and Tonio Brown left bell. You could argue for the past few years, you could have taken him onto in any draft. Yeah. Both. Could be off the team next year. I mean, we already know loves gone, there's ludicrous. So the chargers they've activated. Hunter Henry as of today off the PUP less. That's awesome. So he should be playing at least in some capacity, which if you saw Virgil green made clear cleared the way for him with his catch fumble to Virgil greens credit, then he came in with a with a monster block. That's what he does best. Yes. Yeah. And then to marry his Thomas is quote, not thinking about retirement with the achilles injury to marry his Thomas, you're thinking about retirement is thinking about you. That's not sorry. I love Thomas, but this is going to be a tough. It's going to be tough to come back. And then be he was already in the decline. Yes. All right. That was today's news and notes, by the way, we want to remind you this year news note, sponsored by sleeper, and look you.
