Lexi Fox of steel panther. At any rate, and one of the fans who called in to give me grief was Alan Houston. Not so long ago, he's now Allen Dallas. He joins us here on the program. How are you doing, Al. Thanks for calling in. That is remarkable. Isn't that great? You have no idea. Just literally called in. You could say, when somebody asks you, what were you doing 6 years ago today? None of us have changed. None of us have changed. No, no, we're frozen in time. That is remarkable. It takes a lot of takes a lot of chutzpah to nice. There you go. Bro, I think your team wins. Sunday. What do you think? What do you think? Listen, it's playoff time. It's playoff football. Player ops and we are, I think we have a good opportunity. We should have won again the last time. But it's all it's all going to fall on the shoulders of Daniel Jones. No question. It just is. If he decides that he's going to throw the ball accurately and lead receivers instead of behind if he's going to pick and choose the spots when to run, I mean, we can beat this team. I mean, they're scary offensively, but if we keep their offense off the field and stay on the field, we can win the game. He wins this game last four years that let everybody to think he's the wrong guy. Crazy to even think about re signing him. The Giants absolutely were right for not picking up his 50 year option. All's forgiven, right? Winning this game. Mister president, who's the president of that club, Richard? You. So let's go. I mean, all's forgiven. All is forgiven. I'm Catholic. We ask for forgiveness. Not permission. So let's go. Alan Dallas, that's the perfect setup about these playoffs. Perfect setup. Don't talk about. Playoffs? Exactly. What can be made out of playoffs? You got a top 5. Let's Chris. Top 5. I have no idea what it is. You need NFL films music? Music. What do you got? Go for it. I said it yesterday, rich. You probably forgot. Top 5 quarterbacks under the most pressure

"Because it's not his birthday. We still need a tweet at basically, if you're trending, still alive. Can we just have like a still alive thing? Cake, do something. At any rate, he's just announcing that history of the world part two is coming out. Yes. Come on. Took a long time, but it's about time. When was the last time you saw a history of the world? Never seen it. Oh my goodness. You ever see it? Yeah, years ago. I haven't seen my gosh. I mean, I've seen it, but years ago. That is one of the movies I quote, well, I mean, you'd be able to be careful quote and stuff from it because you can't say anything to those anymore. Blazing saddles, you just can't. But anyway, he's okay. It's racial recognition. The world part two is a four night event. Streaming on March 6th on hold up. Which you can get right here on Roku. Anyway, Mel Brooks is a live thank God for that. You know what I do? At all costs. Yes. Whenever I see someone's name, I just immediately go make my mind go. Dark spot here. No, no, no. I don't go dark. I'm like, oh, what are they doing? It used to be like fearful. I've just trained myself to. I see Rick flair's name trending. I don't think anything bad. I'm like, oh, what's Ric Flair doing today? Anytime I see LeBron trending, I just think skip Bayless must have said some stupid about him. Probably a good chance of that. I'm out there in multiple overtimes. Yeah, I mean, does LeBron complain more about officiating more than any all time great. Come on now. We had to tuck this morning. I told him Kobe, Tim Duncan. Those two guys in their entire 40 year combined career never committed one. I'm embarrassed if you watch them. You could say he's a little more operatic about it. You know? He's never committed a foul in his life and everything is against him. It's like, come on, bro you're top two all times. Well, Luca Luca took care of business last night in the long run last night. The refs had a bad night last night in LA, but Luca was not. Well, so then LeBron did have right to complain. Well, it's got to be one or the other. Don't you think? According to his argument, don't you think? No, the calls that LeBron was complaining about. Well, it's just reported that jokic might not play tonight. And as you know, he is the straw that stirs my fantasy drink. You said something yesterday. There goes my drink. I want to kind of push back a little bit on it. Yes. Well, if it was yesterday or the day before you were talking about crown Victor won by Anna. And you said he made and this might have just been hyperbole, but you said he made honest look pedestrian. And. There's not a player on God's green earth that makes Giannis look pedestrian. It's a figure of speech, TJ. I'm just saying people take what you said, you say the heart. So there's someone at home thinking that or you sitting there thinking, no, because I know because remember I'm the one who told you you shouldn't win the trade. It's a figure of speech that somebody would know it's a taller than Giannis. And has a body type one would say no longer similar because Giannis is bulked up, but this is Jack, but be honest entered the league. Yeah, exactly. That's what I'm saying. To be honest, I need to be careful here. I mean, I need to be more literal, I guess. And that the moves that he makes, the way that he say, for instance, dribbles between his legs with ease. And shoots threes, it makes Giannis look pedestrian. When Giannis clearly is not pedestrian. Even when he's walking, you can't even refer to him as a pedestrian. That's how special he is. Is that okay? That's better. I just thought you were done like disparaging honest and not seem like I'm back on it. I'm out on not trading for Giannis and I'm out on the Las Vegas Raiders being a team that could beat the chiefs in the division. So I'm out on those, the two worst takes I've had in the history of this show, there will not be a third. There will not be a third as bad as those two. I don't think you can say that to you that. What do you mean, how can I say that? You never know what the future might hold. That's true. You never know what takes. I don't know. Again, as a Michigan man, a fellow Michigan man, I should know from Jim Harbaugh that one never knows what the future holds. Although I did see, I did see the school president of Michigan saying that they had productive conversations. What does that mean? That means it means that we're willing. I mean, the productive conversations means, hey, we're willing to revisit a 5 year deal that we just had you signed last year. Who re signs food tears up contracts with four years left on it. When you go to back to back final force. Yeah. I'm not saying it's impossible to do. So let me ask you this. You know, as a Michigan super thin, let's just say, I'm not trying to start anything. But let's just say hardball woodley, right? Yes. Is there anyone that you just the ultimate fan of this program? Someone that you have in mind that you'd be like, all right, I would love to I do not have one in mind. No. I don't. I mean, I don't want to think about it. And I haven't spent any time thinking about it. No,

"Book. We were watching during the live look in that you can watch on peacock. There was a play in the Patriots game against the bears where Mac Jones threw an interception. And after he threw the interception, he got pulled from the game. And Pauly found video where it looks as if the ball hits one of the wires where we have those cameras that follow along, get in the huddle, the overhead cam. And it looks like it clips the wire and it knocks it down. So it would have gone over brisker head. And he probably would have still been in the game, but it clips, it clips the wire a little bit, brings it down brisker makes an unbelievable catch. Pauly, do you have the rule on it if it hits the wire? Yes, if it either punt or a pass or anything hits the wire, the TV wire or whatever you want to call it, the overhead camera. That play is blown dead and the result of the play is nullified, and it goes back to the line of scrimmage, and that you've replayed the down. That's the rule. That would have happened. So it would have taken an interception in a very tight game and given the ball back to Mac Jones. Bill Belichick was asked who's going to start against the jets if Mac Jones is healthy. As you move forward, if he's healthy Bill, is he, is it fair to say if he's healthy, he's the starter? Again, that's a hypothetical question. So let's see, you know, where that is and what that is. Okay. Then the reporter asked this question to Belichick. Was Mac Jones healthy enough to play the entire game last night? Well, that didn't happen, so it's another hypothetical question. No, that's not hypothetical. That's not hypothetical coach. It's pathetic. He was clearly healthy enough to play. He had that one scramble for like 13 yards in a first down. How was he defined health? Oh, I don't know the definition of health to textbook position. Imagine if Mac Jones got pulled there because the ball hit the wire and then he never plays again.

"Out to me. That's very thoughtful. He said he watches the show. What was that? Rogers, Marvin, can you clip that part right at the very end where Rogers gives a, I mean, these are just mental errors. That's definitely a shout out. I've been trying to get them on the show. Shout out. Now, you know, it's nothing that is that incendiary, but it feels like I get some point you just go, I'm the leader of this team, and I don't need to err everything, we're going to get this right. We're a better team. And it starts with me, and I'm your leader, and we're going to make this right. But everything has been sort of like, you know, we need to simplify things. What has changed with the packers? They lost devonte Adams. I thought they'd still have a premier defense. And a great running game. And then you let Rogers kind of work these young receivers into the flow. And maybe that's going to happen, but that's my thought. I thought Green Bay, you lost to Monta Adams, but you still have two good running backs and you have a really good defense or the potential for a really good defense. But it just feels like there's these little comments here and there. Don't say anything. Now I know you go on pat McAfee show and you want to have more of a conversation. But it just felt like, how about you got a huge game going into buffalo? You know, concentrate on that. You don't have to tell me the other things. Yes, we know you make mistakes. People make mistakes. You got young receivers here. Without David back to yari. That's a big loss there. Okay, I understand all these things. But you're still playing in a terrible division, and you guys should be good. Competitive. And not lose to the Giants or lose to the jets, even though they're improved, you should still win those games. And the commanders, you should beat the commanders. Packers defense was ranked 9th in yardage last year. This year, the 8th last year they were ranked 13th in points given up to share their 14th. So the defense is almost exactly the same in the rankings. The offense was tenth in the league last year ranked in both points and points scored and yardage. This year, their 23rd in both categories. That's where Aaron Rodgers says, hey, I got to take care of my side of the ball. We

"It was a big deal yesterday, Mike Evans, after the loss against Carolina, to officials working the game, were seen talking to him and caught on video. Was he signing an autograph? And then we found out later that he was not signing an autograph. And then, but we didn't know what he was doing. The NFL put out a statement, a released information, and it was like, no, it wasn't an autograph. But then they didn't say what it was, and I'm like, well, why would you put it out and tell me what it wasn't? But not tell me what it was. So there was more speculation, Tom palace did a great job NFL network insider and he said that apparently getting his phone number to somebody to set up a golf lesson. I guess. Now I've looked at the video. And okay, I haven't done a deep dive on it, but I've watched it a couple of times where I go, is Mike Evans writing down his phone number. Because it doesn't look like that. Usually when you write down your phone number, you will write two O three, 5 one 5, and so you have to lift up the pen. It looks like he just writes something. Not his phone number down, yes, points. I watch a video a bunch of times I'm watching it now. They're talking to Mike Evans. He's got a pen and a little like a card. And he starts writing down something. And then they keep walking. Mike Evans still has the pen in his hand. He's still with the refs. He doesn't hand it back to them. He could have been writing as he kept walking. I kind of said that yesterday, it didn't make sense that it was an autograph because I didn't think you would ask for an autograph of a player who just got smoked. Now you may not give golf lesson tips to a guy just got smoked. But let's say they had a pre game conversation and said, hey, ref, good to see you. They know each other. They both went to a and M. But we should know that then, if they want to put this fire out, then they should give full transparency. Sure. That's all. Look if it was harmless, then great. We move on. There's other things to talk about. Like Russell Westbrook can't shoot. You know, the important things that we need to talk about every day. Here's Mike

He was a nice player for the Cardinals in. O 7 through 12. Played for the Dodgers for a touch. Yes. I have one more poll question, but we could save it. Let's take a break here. Let me take a break here. Got a lot of things to get to. Aaron Rodgers, Magic Johnson comments on Kareem and LeBron, the real reason why Matt Ryan got benched and will never play again for the colds. So a lot of things to get to a little bit later on next hour at this time, Jeff Perlman has written a book on Bo Jackson and really well done, but this is what Perlman does. He's written, I think, ten books on sports, sports legends, and wrote one on Favre. Peyton, the Lakers. So Jeff Perlman and will join us. We'll talk about fact and fiction with Bo Jackson. "The packers kept Tom Brady under wraps for three quarters of Green Bay's 1412 win over the Buccaneers Aaron Rodgers tossed touchdown passes of 5 and 6 yards on the packers first two possessions but his offense sputtered the rest of the way Meanwhile the bucks offense was held in check without star receivers Mike Evans Chris Godwin and Julio Jones Brady finally got the bucks into the end zone on a one yard pass to Russell gage capping a 90 yard drive with 14 seconds remaining Tampa Bay's bid to force overtime with a two point conversion was thwarted First by a delay of game penalty and then an incomplete pass I'm Dave ferry
Aaron Rodgers Named NFL's Top QB in ESPN Poll
"So ESPN doing their annual poll of over 50 executives players, coaches, alike, they release their top ten players at every single position in the National Football League. They've been doing this for years. And yesterday, while we were on the air, they put out their top ten quarterbacks. When I say they, again, it's an ESPN production, but it's not really folks from ESPN. It's people within the business. The peers of these players themselves, the players, the coaches, the executives. They come out with the top ten quarterbacks fellas. It's Stokely and Zack filling in from Mike Evans this morning. We're hanging out with our guys stink. Number one in the National Football League, according to these guys, Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers still the number one quarterback in the National Football League fellas. Well, a desi woman back to back MVPs. Aaron Rodgers has his efficiency is touched on interception ratio completion percentage. His ability to just absolutely attack a defense. So I'm doing I'm doing a Green Bay game. This is two years ago. And I'm talking to the defensive coordinator of the team that they're facing. And he's like, listen, if Aaron Rodgers gets it to second down in 5 minus, like second down 5, 6, 9, four, whatever. He goes, I would rather just give him an automatic first. I wish I had something to say, you can have the first down. Let's start over. It's like a take your base signal. And baseball. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly. He goes, I would just like to start over because if he gets you in a second down in 5, there is nothing you can do. He's just going to bleed you. Until they get a first down and then they'll bleed you some more. He goes, I'd rather just give them the first down and say, let's try to, let's try to see if we can get them in second down and along because that's the only chance you have. "To re sign DK and keep them in Seattle for a while. Okay, Adam good stuff there. And Mina let's stay right there with DK want to come back to you on that one because would DK be worth one of these big wide receiver deals that we've seen some of the other guys get this off season. Oh yeah, no doubt that he's worth it based on what he's shown so far. I think the question for Seattle is, do you want to pay him based on how competitive this team is? If they're rebuilding, is it the right move? I would argue yes, because while this team has already shown some signs, they don't view it as a rebuild I view it as sort of a retooling moving on from Russell Wilson, even if they were to go out as I imagine they will probably next year and get their future quarterback to move on from Metcalf as well would mean you'd be putting him in a pretty adverse situation. And I think that's the line teams often have to straddle when they do rebuilds is, okay, we're going to rip it up and try to move up in the draft, but are we putting that rookie quarterback or that next free agent in a good spot? I think that's a good reason to keep Metcalf. If nothing else, including the fact that he's beloved there and in that community. Had 12 touchdowns and nearly a thousand receiving yards last year we'll see what they do with him in the future. What steric about? What's he really like? My parents did a great job saying you're going to deal with racism. I was the one that would be like, who are you looking at? Their job was to get a headline. And I wasn't going to give it to him. We were phones back then, my career had been three years long. I approached him and I said, are we good? And he said, oh man. Kind of. One thing with me, I'm very loyal. But loyalty one way is stupidity. Nobody hid in plain sight like Derek Jeter. ESPN films presents the captain against July 18th on ESPN and ESPN+ presented by Capital One. Well, it took all of 40 days for Tom Brady to realize retirement wasn't for him this off season. The 7 time Super Bowl champ is back for another year with the bucks, and while some were surprised by the news, his teammate, Mike Evans told a story this week about some cryptic texts from Brady that let him know the short lived retirement might be coming to an end. He said this. He sent me an article where his ball sold for over 500 grand. The last touchdown that I threw in the stands against the rams. He said, that's a lot of tuition money. I just laughed and I said to my defense, I didn't know you were going to retire. He sent back a laughing emoji saying there's more touchdowns in our future. I just figured he was trolling me in a few hours later. It's announced he's coming back. Love that story for Mike Evans and Tom Brady and $500,000 for that ball, man. A little bit of money there for that. I can see why. Mina, Mike Evans, clearly excited about Brady's return, but they're definitely some questions regarding their past catchers. So what do you make of that group, Nina? Yeah, I think the question would be Chris Godwin's injury status, whether he's fully healthy, coming back into the season. What I actually think they'll be fine, even if he needs a bit of time because the bucks, I believe, made one of the sneakiest, most underrated signings of the off season when they brought in wide receiver Russell gage on a three year deal from Atlanta. Now, you know, he's not a household name. I think to the likes of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, but he's extremely versatile, super tough possession, receiver, some ways, has a similar skill set to Godwin and he's been incredibly productive for Atlanta last year when he did play and was healthy with Matt Ryan. He ended up ranking 21st in the NFL in yards per route run, which is a metric that accounts for both productivity and usage. That's actually a head of Chris Godwin and Deandre Hopkins and Keenan Allen. Now he joins a wide receipt receiver group where he's the number three. I mean, that is just the rich getting richer and it shouldn't be surprising given the way this team has been built. Yeah, I mean, I love that. He's number three, but he's starting a little bit higher than that, right? And I think the issue is like, yes, Russell gage is a huge addition. But for me, Gronk is gone. That's number one. And we all know what happened in Super Bowl two years ago when two red zone touchdowns and he was in on all four of the touchdowns. But the bigger story is that Chris Godwin is no longer there. Chris Godwin led the team in catches in touch, excuse me, and catches and targets. And receiving yards for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And so with him and ground being gone, I think it's going to be a bigger loss than just one person that can account for. Number one, number two, the way the Teva bay starts their schedule is the toughest schedule out of any team in the NFL based off of last year's winning percentage. They start off with the cowboys, then they go with the same two historically, they struggled with. Then you go to the packers, you go with the chiefs. And so who knows when Chris got it? But missing on that stretch, this team might start off one in three, maybe two and two in these first four games. And then you have a new coach to top it all off in Todd Bowles. BA is no longer there. Now Todd Bowles is the coach. If you do start off two and two, one and three will Todd Bowles be able to get this team on a run. That is a question that has yet to be answered and if Todd Bolton Todd Bowles can start off strong or even get hot when it matters, then it'll prove that he made the right decision at coach. Well, essentially, what you're telling me is they're missing their most targeted receiver and Chris Godwin, they're missing their most trusted wide receiver, at least Tom Brady's most trusted wide receiver, Rob Gronkowski, and yet their division where it's set up for them to win. And so they can just basically hold serve until they get Godwin back. Maybe they come up with a another tight end in free agency or before the trade deadline, but something tells me this team as aggressive as they've been is as demanding as Tom Brady is will still make another move or two here at some point this summer during the season to add the targets that Tom Brady needs and will walk. But there's no question. There is a void on the offensive side of the football and Tamina's point. Russell gage may be one of the guys that they're going to lean on, but they're going to have to lean on other players as well because they're missing an awful lot of targets, production, and trust. So let me know with all that in mind, Nacho mentioned the tough start for them. Those first four games. What's key for Todd Bowles in this group to establish early Mina? Well, Todd Bowles obviously is a defensive mastermind in this defense. I think is still one of the best in the NFL. Them the saints are neck and neck, and even if the saints have more skill players at this point early in the season, the bucks still have the superior quarterback in Tom Brady. I'm not terribly worried about them, frankly. I think even without Chris Godwin, if he doesn't play, and then Greg kaws obviously not going to be part of this group, I still think they have enough skill players very solid run game very good offensive line. Coupled with their excellent defense. I think they'll be able to win games. That Todd Bowles defense ranked in the top ten in both defensive efficiency and takeaways last season. "mike evans" Discussed on NFL Live
"Welcome to NFL live. We're Brady is back but without Gronk, how much pressure will there be on the Buccaneers past catchers? And the Bengals surprised everyone with their run to the Super Bowl last season. So could things look different for burrow and company this fall. Plus, for the first time in forever, there are questions surrounding the Steelers signal caller, but cut the end result actually be an upgrade from last season. We've got a packed house here on NFL live today. Menace, Sam acho and Adam Schefter with me on Kelsey Riggs and we're with you for the next hour. How about Terry mclaurin? Put pen to paper today officially signing a three year $71 million extension. We'll get to that in a few, but we start right now in Cleveland, where the browns are awaiting the ruling from deshaun Watson's disciplinary hearing that wrapped up last week, Watson has been accused and civil lawsuits by 25 women of actions ranging from sexual assault and appropriate behavior during massage sessions. 20 of the plaintiffs agreed to settle prior to the hearing and one of the lawsuits was dropped. So Adam, where does Watson's case with the league stand right now? Look, I'll see the post hearing briefs are due the week of July 11th, meaning next week. So barring some settlement that nobody sees coming right now. It looks like the judge will get the post hearing briefs and then in the words of various people, quote unquote take her time before she makes a decision and we'll see what the judge decides here because there's no track record of judge Sue Al Robinson ruling on an NFL disciplinary case being that this is the first one she's had under the new collective bargaining agreement. So really no one knows exactly how it's going to shake out. I think the NFL PA feels confident in its argument that NFL owners were not held to a certain standard of conduct here when deshaun Watson is accused of being with 66 different woman sexual misconduct and we'll see how the judge views it the NFL made its argument and again briefs do next week. All right, we'll continue to keep an eye on that. The brown's also awaiting the ruling. And they have some decisions to make regarding the other quarterbacks that are on their roster as well. Former number one overall pick Baker Mayfield hasn't been with the team since they traded for Watson in March, but he is still on the roster and set to make a guaranteed $19 million this season. He was asked this week about the situation in the possibility of returning. I think it's been pretty obvious to mutual decision on both sides is to move on. You know, I'm thankful for my four years in Cleveland. There's a lot of ups and downs and a ton of learning experiences that all forever keep with me. But I think a lot of people think if they didn't have a quarterback for the next year, but would there be any chance of reconciliation there? No, I think for that to happen, they would have to be some reaching out, but we're ready to move on. I think on both sides. All right, so it sounds like he's saying all the right things. Mina would a return to Cleveland for baker, but it make any sense. It's tricky because on one hand, if Mayfield was to say, screw you, I'm going to take my guaranteed money. I'm going to sit out after you, toss me aside. I think everybody would understand that decision and it would make a lot of sense. But on the other hand, if you take the emotions out of it and what's happened and just consider this from a football perspective and ask, okay, if Baker Mayfield's goal is to once again be an NFL starter, what is the best path for doing that if Watson was suspended for some long period of time, it actually does make sense, I think, for him to consider going back to Cleveland. Right now, his value is so depressed. Unfairly, I believe, after he played injured last season. If you were to join a Cleveland team with a very soft, early schedule an excellent offensive line and run game, as we all know, and Amari Cooper, I think he would actually have a pretty good shot of not only rebuilding that value, but probably winning some fans around the league. Now, I want to be clear. I don't think this is going to happen. You heard his tone, but if we were just to look at this from a football perspective, it does seem to be worthy of consideration to me. Yeah, maybe worthy of consideration and meaning all those points make a ton of sense. But from a player's perspective, a guy who has been disdained and lied to by his team, I see it really difficult or if not impossible for Baker Mayfield to come back to the Cleveland Browns. Number one, he said in a podcast a couple months ago that they lied to him. They asked him on the podcast said baker. Do you feel disrespected? He said yes. Yes, I do feel disrespected. They told me one thing and they did another. And that tells me that the trust has been broken. So even if there was an opportunity to come back, number one, you lost my trust when you lied to me and you told me you're going to keep me as a quarterback and you went the next day, got the Sean Watson. Number two, you talked about the ups and the downs his experiences in Cleveland. I don't think he would want to go back. Last year, he tried to put the team on his back, play with an injury, yet there was a lot of noise internally and otherwise of people saying they didn't necessarily want him there. And so if I'm baker, I am not coming back. But you wonder about the trust with not just the team, but probably the teammates that are there as well, so that'll be interesting. Adam, what can you tell us, mentioned that 19 million guaranteed this year? What's the trade market currently look like for Baker Mayfield? My understanding is that the browns are not willing to cut Baker Mayfield and have no plans to cut Baker Mayfield and they're going to continue to hold on to the hope that they can move him and his $18.85 million guaranteed salary knowing that they're going to have to pay and absorb a healthy portion of it. And it's a situation where the browns once were on the receiving end of a Brock Osweiler deal and now it looks like in this particular case they're going to be stuck with the money one way or another. The trade market is at best limited. What is July 5th, right? July 5th is different than August 5th and the dynamics change. There could be a quarterback whose injured over the next month. There could be a quarterback who struggles during camp in the opening weeks. There are numbers scenarios that could change the baker trade market that right now is pretty flat. The only team that the browns have had real meaningful conversations with has been the Carolina Panthers and they've balked at making a deal so far. Now that could change but there's obviously not a great demand for baker at this time. But this time is not the time of training camp. That's when things could change, but my understanding is that the browns are not going to be cutting Baker Mayfield at any point soon believing that they have a commodity that they know they're on the hook for contractually anyway. So plenty of time and as Adam said, we will see what happens as we get closer to training camp and then into the season. Now out of 31 qualified quarterbacks, last season, Baker Mayfield ranked 27th and both QBR and completion percentage. So we'll see what the future holds with him and the browns, but they do also have Jacoby Brissette and he's on the roster. He could potentially step in as well. Should Deshawn Watson have what is looking like it will be a suspension in the future. Now, Mercedes has not been a primary starter since the 2019 season when he started 15 games for the colts Mayfield has made 22 more starts than percent in their careers and is a slightly better QBR, but beset has the advantage and touchdown to interception ratio. So with that in mind, Sam is Brissette for a long stretch of games. If he's in there, what is the ceiling look like for the browns? I think the browns are still a playoff team, even with Jacoby Brissette at quarterback. They've built a playoff roster and they thought they brought in a quarterback who could take them to the next level. Yet now they don't know what will happen at quarterback. When you look at it, you go and you get Amari Cooper who's at over 5000 yard receiving seasons in his career. You can get little pieces, right? Like talking about a guy like jakeem grant, who's a specialist pro bowler at returner. This team, David and joko at tight end, re signed. This team has the talent to make the playoffs, not to mention their first four game of the season. You start with the Panthers, the Steelers, the jets, the falcons, right? You're gonna start off with a relatively easy schedule. Now obviously things get harder, but I think you're gonna have an opportunity to make the playoffs. I don't think they can win in the playoffs when you have unless you're gonna have an upgrade at quarterback, but.

"Greg. Circling back to mike evans hometown of galveston texas. What is his connection to that community today. Yeah i think you still see it all over. It's like he'll go back each summer and do a free football camp and that's probably the most direct way he's still helping out there just having a camp in the summer no cost to kids out there for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Some of these camps. It's like you kind of staff it with a lot of coaches from nearby schools and the players sometimes are kinda figureheads. They're they're and they're smiling and they might sign a hat to the kids. Mike's out there mice like showing them how to run routes the same of what is up teaching them these roads he he the not the arrest of women rolling on the ground. I mean just just unbelievable. The kids are tackling the ground. He's got a pile of. It's on top of him. It's neat and you'll see there's been a lot of nfl players too but for my to make it personal to make it hands on to be there with the kids. It makes it more special for him. He's paying this fall. in december. the one of the bigger games of the year is a home game against the bills. I think it's december tenth in tampa and he's paying for the entire basketball team to fly from from galveston houston to tampa to play tampa jesuit and tampa warden like a holiday basketball tournament. And then he's going to have the whole team in the coaches and everybody vote with the team to go attend the bills bucks game as guests. He's literally planting that same seed in fifteen kids from this basketball team and is neat to think that one of them you know ten fifteen years from now might be playing basketball or playing another sport professionally and carrying on the same cycle the same way you know. It seems like so many stories about people who start out in a situation like what mike evans was in. You know the stories often don't end. Well what do you think it is that has allowed him to thrive and then also to be just so inspired to give back. He'll say it starts with his mom. First of all. Heather had mike when she was fourteen years old. She had his sister kia when she was fifteen. So mike will start by saying that. His mom worked fifteen years as a hospital clerk working nights so they could have a nice christmas so they didn't feel like they were poor growing up at wish to give. But what if she is you must mustang his will and mike. It is amazing story where mike said he can remember. It's like fourth grade. He's maybe nine years old and he remembers there's this park in galveston and it's the kind of park were again. There's going to be homeless. People living there and mike as a nine year old has enough of a big heart where is porzingis. He just wants to make a goodie bag for the man that lives down the park sar gloves. And which chips his faction so much of his life. He didn't have it in the share so now that he does. It's just such a wonderful thing to combine that amazing generosity with the means to do whatever you want. They literally have to tell them mike. You can't help everybody. Because i think that's his his nature and leslie greg going back between the lines here. What role do you see. Mike evans playing on the field for the bucks the season. And how important is he to their ambitions to repeat no. He's a huge part of it. They are stacked at receiver. They have three amazing receivers. In mike evans and chris godwin and antonio brown any one of which could be the number one receiver for a lot of teams. So it's one of those where they have enough talent in the passing game. We're kinda somebody gets left out. Every week jason light their general manager was talking about how they have an unbelievable collection of selfless superstars. And that's kind of what the there. There's some teams were if you're the number one receiver in you have a game like mike evans did we. Don't get the ball as much. You might be complaining. He might jump on social media and the mouth off about why you didn't get more passes and part of the reason that things. Click for the boxes. That's just not them. So i'm sure michael have a great year this year again. He's got his head to go for a thousand yards again just because he's done it every had it at thirteen touchdowns last year. He'll be hard pressed to have that many again. But i'm not going to tell me can't do it. You know greg. Thanks for joining us today and sharing the story with us. Hey thanks for having me. "Go didn't get much better than that. You wrote that in a survey by the athletic this summer fans voted. Mike evans their second favorite player on the team behind. Only tom brady and finishing just one point. Seven percentage points behind the seven times super bowl champ. So greg why is it that fans in tampa love this guy so much. Yeah it really was depressed. I remember tabulating the vote with like twenty dollars to go. I think mike was even ahead. Which would have been really cool because again to out vote tom. Brady and a popularity contest is just crazy. But i think what they like is who he is off the field as much as i mean. They know on the field. What a great receiver is you got. Thirteen jerseys all over the stadium on a sunday but see who is off the field to know what he's been through a to see how giving it is every year you have two or three of these stories of mike helping somebody that he doesn't know what all it's like. He's a big video game guy. There was a shooting in jacksonville during a qualifying tournament for john. Madden video game tournament and mike. No these mike paid for the funeral expenses for for one of the in one of the people that was killed. He's paid for medical bills for people. There was a police related shooting and the civil suit came out. And i think the jury awarded him four dollars in their civil suit or something. Heinous like that and evans reached out and paid for some of their expenses as foundation with his wife. Now he's literally the bucks man of the year the year they win the super bowl. He's just a really generous selfless person. And i think that makes it that much easier for fans to literally adore him..

"One of the key pieces to last year's super bowl run by the tampa bay buccaneers and an important part of their title hopes. Once again this season is wide receiver. Mike evans touchdown. This one of my kevin's second of the day new tampa bay record thirteen this year and as important as evans has been on the field for the bucks. He's become even more beloved off it both in tampa hand in his hometown of galveston texas. This community is a community. It's constantly on edge and ready to fight back against hurricane against the economy against socio economic status. And it's something that might secure example. Today greg allman covers the box for the athletic. Explains how evans has overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to win the hearts of fans across the country. And exactly what makes him basically the human ever from wondering and the athletic. I'm under scelzo. It's friday september seventeenth. And this is the lead greg allman. Thank you so much for joining us today. Hey thanks for having me glad to be on gregor wanted to start with something that you wrote about in a recent story about mike evans. Can you tell us about mike evans day in galveston texas. They had this great hometown parade for mike in march after the super bowl. Ucd small town parades and it's it's not a huge thing. It's a fire truck. It's a couple of cars but the whole city comes out and you can see how much it means to these small towns when they have somebody debt can have so much success and kind of put your city on the mac pro. Football player commodity. Amy hi how ya doing man you know. He's wearing a letter jacket like a purple and gold ball highschool letter jacket. It's still has the be on. It has all district on the sleeve. He's a pro bowl player national on you know all pro and it's like he still remembers when he was second team all county fifteen year old or something. It's still rock in the high school varsity jacket. You have to respect it right. And i mean he legitimately means it when he says. This is like one of the proudest honors. I could have. I think it means more to get the little key to the city than it does to get a lot of the amazing national accolades that people that are successful him can get tom galveston ball with some of the other times. I've had in my life while playing sports and knowing that a lot in the he'll be gets wired. Well gregory of how mike evans became guy with a day named after him parade and all it really is a pretty remarkable story and you recently spoke with a bunch of people from his past. So let's go back to the beginning for a minute. Can you tell us about the early. Part of mike evans life and his family situation growing up. Yeah i mean immensely sad story of what his child who was like. I mean it's one thing to grow up poor as he did in galveston galveston a tough place to grow up to begin with but grew up in a house that had some domestic abuse. Dad went to jail when he was five for three years for abusing another woman outside the family came back got in trouble again for hitting his mom with jail for thirty days and it's really sad and that his mother's brother his uncle had also been in jail and basically just got tired of seeing his sister being abused and this one night when when mike is nine years old. You can't imagine any more fragile than a nine year old is uncle shoots and kills and stabs and kills his father in the street outside their home going out in the street all over the place for somebody. Espn did a east sixty special. On mike in two thousand sixteen. He went through the whole thing with him. The police woke me and my sister said to be ticket to grandmother's house. Others black guy in the street was pops and that's how we lost his dad and that it's something that could really set somebody off and been a reason why you just say well. No wonder these didn't work out for him. And greg you spoke with a guy who ended up becoming more or less a father. Figure to mike evans. Can you tell us about terry pathway. And how he fit into. Mike evans life back. Then yeah terry pedal. He's a great story. His youngest son taryn pedal is like best friends. Mike they were friends and youth basketball together. You went onto play nebraska. He's playing professionally in greece. Still now but terry peta basically became. Mike's father when he lost his dad i think has been in that kind of role for kids in galveston for at least twenty years here but tried to give my kind of a model of what a family should be. He just had the opportunity to to see a family structure. And that's one of the reasons. Well always coaches Hill keys to build it. They'll self esteem in trying to make a man and he's talked about. How kind of crazy optimistic and hopeful he is as a person in that. There's gang violence in this barrier island of galveston texas and he literally took the guy's from rival gangs bloods and crips and said hey you guys should do a football game together. I think becky that. I think minnow crazies hill when i would take these guys out of town stuff and plan. They shooting at each other when they came to practice. He actually knew. Mike's father and he told the story about how he knew. Mike evans as a baby. Go to malls in the oh. He was going on this thing. He got this little basket. he's comfortable. He said look you say look boy aboard the funding board lead visible goo though co q. And remembers kind of befriending. Mike's father trying to help them out trying to get him jobs trying to to kind of get him out of this cycle of abuse and going to jail that he ultimately never got out of it. Sounds like evans was actually more of a basketball player than football player growing up. What did he tell you about. How high school basketball experience changed him. Galveston is an island unto itself. You go across the bridge and it's right there a lot like we would think of kind of in the clearwater area over there. Some of the barrier islands. I don't think he knew very much. Outside of galveston maybe houston was kind of the far limits of his world that he knew until he started playing travel basketball team called the galveston hornets that he played with. And these aau teams will play in these national tournaments. So he got to go to vegas and saint. Louis and kansas city even went to canada. He sitting there in canada. And he's like. Why do all these people care about me. Why are they making a big deal. Out of me always cool to see. You'll man somebody fan of the kid. I was a big fan. I'm still a fan of sports entertainment. Not at but is surreal. Sometimes but i'm a little used to. But i'll never get tired of it and it's needed and he's still very much that same humble guy. He's very aware of all the talent he has. But i still think the idea that people would want to be like him is still amazing for him. Obviously footballs were. He's had all of his professional success where he is right now but i think basketball was probably where he got his confidence from and maybe where he i realized he could be something bigger than just galveston well eventually gave up basketball and instead played college football at texas. Am and then was drafted by the bucks greg. How would you characterize his time on the box team before last season. Super bowl run. I mean for the longest time i mean. He and labonte. David were both just great football players. That had no even small morsel of a taste of real football success. Mike came here in fourteen his first six years here in one winning season really one time they ever had a shot at making. The playoffs and still fell. Short is rookie year. They went to and fourteen and still resigned to stay here. Still liked what they had here in tampa still believed that enough that took obviously a really lucrative contract but took money to stay here and believe in the future in tampa. So it's really neat. And that jason light is their current general manager and his literally his first draft pick and fourteen with the number seven overall pick was to take my evans and it ends up being a really smart decision. I think people that liked texas am football that year. A lot of what they liked with. Johnny menzel heisman. Winning super exciting quarterback a lot of people in tampa at the thought. The bucks might take menzel at seven and jason light to his credit kind of identified that. Maybe the success was more of a function of mike evans being an amazing receiver than menzel. Being an nfl quarterback so you see menzel you know drafted later in the first round did not have in any way a remarkable career at all and here it is mike evans. You know the first receiver. Nfl history to open their careers with seven straight. One thousand yard seasons rainy. Moss is the only get ahead sick. So you're breaking record at randy. Moss said as receivers.

They woke up in their football starting, so I'm happy to be a part of it. I am happy to be a part of in the way I am. Um, but let me ask you, the line keeps moving. It's actually been quite remarkable how much the line has moved. For Tampa in Dallas. Would you say that? The fact that it keeps moving Tampa's way is also may be a sign that if you have buccaneers on your roster that you should play them Normally, I would say yes, there's the line moves that much, but not any time. The Dallas Cowboys are involved. Any time they're involved, the line usually comes out at a point to appoint a half higher than it should be there. Kind of like Um, you know, the Yankees of the Lakers, the Cowboys that the general public will bet on them, not just Um, there's the Sabbath, the savvy batters but then the cowboy fans So I don't wait too much into that. But I also you know, the Cowboys had an offensive lineman. Have an issue with Covid, Um so I could see the line going the way it is going So from this game tonight from the Tampa perspective, I've been asked about the likes of Antonio Brown. But how many guys From Tampa. Do you feel really good about tonight? Off four Tom Brady, Mike Evans and and that's really good that the defense and Leonard Barnett a pause a little bit, but I'm still going to use them if I drafted them in a flex spot. I probably won't go RB two or anything with Leonard for net, but I like I like those guys. I know there's a lot of mouths to feed and Tampa in the backfield, and a lot of people want to stay off of it. But I want At least entire CIA play out. I want no part of Ronald Jones. And I want no part of, um do you have one in banana? Bonnie Bernard? Yeah, So all right. So Brady you like a lot. Do you like him as like The best quarterback and fantasy this weekend. No. There's some matchups and again. Everything we know today will be different from next week. But there's certain teams that that I want to use that they just because of the defenses they're facing. It's like Try to always use the passing game against Tennessee. Try to always use the passing game against Chicago. Try to always use a running game against Las Vegas. Like there's certain teams and keys that I looked into, especially Um, Las Vegas Baltimore situation with their their lead runner going down, Gus Edwards. It looks like is out. So if if you're late to the pickups, um, go pick up the Baltimore starting running back and even take a flyer on Levian bell, but they should have like I was as I was preparing to just come on and talk on the show today. It was like Gus Edwards is my sleeper. This week. The Raiders have a bunch of pass rushers. And it seems like the Raiders are built to stop. You know the Chiefs and the bills and the Chargers and some of these passing games and it looks like you can run against them. And then, of course, Baltimore's running back goes down and all my Gus Edwards prep went or not. Who is that? They can't go Levian bell. Can they be it? So I want to see his name is I got picked him up and I needed was an hour ago and I'm having a brain freeze. I'm an album is his last name Jason Williams. Okay. All right. Yeah. No, he's there, guys. Um Yeah, Let's see Running back yet. Tyshon Williams. Yes, Tyshon Williams in it. And remember Baltimore put in a waiver claim, reportedly on Freeman when the Broncos released Royce Freeman so they obviously know that they're hurting in the backfield and kick the tires on belt. Like I said. I think I think it could be a sleeper pick for for Williams this week. Matt Wylie. The Gazette. My guest. Let's backtrack a little bit to tonight's game from the Dallas perspective. You know, we haven't seen a lot of Dak Prescott, but also we kind of think they'll be down. In the game. Um What do you think about Dak? And what do you think about Zeke? Because I would imagine the Cowboys would love to run the football lot if they can stay in it with Tampa. I really like both tonight and I realized both for the season from the from the Dallas perspective. Um, you know, I think they'll be in a lot of shootout. But I think their offense will produce even against the seller defense like camera. So you lie You like that tonight? No hesitation with Dak. Depends on who else I have. But if I dropped the deck, I dropped him to be my number one and I'm going to go with him. You can text in your fantasy football conundrums that 522987 to somebody beat me to Tyson Williams, who beat me to tie some Williams Deng it alright. Uh, let me ask you. You brought you brought up. Um, you brought up going against Tennessee? Would you say that the best Stack of your roster in daily fantasy might be Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins. I do. I do like that game a lot. I mean, Tennessee. There's talk that they're going to try to get their Henry back to back 2000 yard rushing season, So you know they might play the ball control game they might You know, try to keep the ball out of Tyler's hands..
Buccaneers Working to Restructure WR Mike Evans' Contract to Clear Cap Space
"The buccaneers were reportedly working to restructure. Why receiver mike evans contract due to cap space. Suits clear some. He is a sixteen point. According to the nfl salary cap report so he has three years left on a five year. Eighty two point five million dollars extension so they every structured it. This is the this is. He's restructured the with them several times so this wouldn't be the first time he's restructured to deal with the team. But this is actually very smart. Mike evans is not a player. And giving him some more time is this is a situation that makes sense. How how great is that. Brady engines career and gets mike evans

I go notice Bob Bob. That's right. That's his uncle. I I like the any time. Mike Evans. Touchdown prop You'll get, plus 1 20 on this. Wow, I like it And I'm gonna tell you why, because the one guy Brady looks for more often than pretty much. Anybody else on that team. When they get down near the goal line is Mike Evans. He had the second most targets of any player in the National Football League inside the 10 yard line. During the regular season, He had nine red zone touchdowns and all nine were inside the 10. He's got two touchdowns in the postseason in the Red Zone. You know, most people think it's got to be drunk. It's got to be drunk, and Brady did look his way a lot, but he's got another guy break. That's a good tight end. He does. That's true, and he and they and they threw him the ball. He had a touchdown in Green Bay's Chicago's very old, by the way, Naperville Central for candidates. But Mike Evans gets targeted down there and that offense by Tom Brady more than just about as much about any necks. About what's that for sex for sale Total? Yeah, boy. I think that devil Tampa got five against green baseline. Yeah, and now, But see, the problem is the homes could roll out off the hash marks. Just throw the ball away. So you may have him trapped. He's been trapped 100 times how many times he been caught? I've never I hardly when he could set your shot. I know you are. He knows how to get rid of the ball. It's true. I know, and he's been the most. He was the best, most accurate passer on the run in the NFL this year, so Either knows when to just throw it away, not to attack or he escapes trouble on this side of the ball down the field knows when to slide. Does everything right? He's incredible. Yeah, well, you know what? Just don't get a haircut. I don't get this. These guys going. Why? Wait, wait. Who's going to see them? Are they getting a haircut? Because they were going to do some production work with CBS, and they were going to take photos of these guys or why you are going to the barber shop at one time. Maybe it was, you know, it's just like a routine thing. Wow, that I don't know, but you talk about on the precipice of disaster. Last last you'd all be out and be crazy, right? The GOAT Whisperer: The Man Who Lured Tom Brady To Tampa
"So greg first question. Where are you right now. I have met the media center for the super bowl which is in the tampa convention center. Kinda for all that around downtown tampa but is not quite busy here yet. So it's a little bit still kind of thought out. I'm sure in in forty eight hours. It'll be crazy here. Well greg sunday will be the first time that a super bowl is played in the home city of one of the two competing teams. What is the feeling in tampa right now. In the up to the game as you walk around drive around you feel a super bowl frenzy even in this pandemic couple days city is enjoying a run like it's never had. He had the stanley cup at world series in october. God and now. I think just making the boy. I would have been a big step for this team but see them win. Three road playoff games. And now be as you said in a super bowl in their own stadium. It's been a wild six months for tampa or to be sure we wanted to pick your brain a little bit about the guy who many people credit with building this bucks super bowl team. Gm jason light when he joined the bucks seven years ago. This team was more or less in disarray. How has he rebuilt it. I think he's done a very good job of drafting three touchdown. She'll back to this. First draft is fourteen. Taking mike evans been a pro bowl. Receiver has reset all the receiving records already. Big exclamation shows tied his own tampa bay record with his wealth reception for a touchdown this year. Tom brady just set the new fifteen two starting offensive linemen and their left tackle donovan smith and they're left guard alley pat and then really you look at the last three draft. That's defense has come. I think they have seven. Vincent starters that are from the last three drafts talent collectors. Were finding the right fifth buildings championship team. There's a veteran presence traded for jason pierre paul from the giants and hit on him and consumers thirty four and still a very high level the this is a good mix of young. It's really worth well. Even jason light was putting pieces into place. And you know sort of building the backbone of this team. This team wasn't doing particularly well and nfl. Owners of course are not known for their patients. So why did. The buccaneers stick with light. Even as this team continued to miss the playoffs year after year after year you go back to the end two thousand eighteen and then made the decision to fire dirk cutter coach dirk cutter. He is now officially relieved of his duties by the team. And in this statement. The buccaneers say that gm jason light will lead the new search. So that means light will get. I think in most situations they probably would have moved on from jason light his gm as well. He did really well in that he kind of pulled out an important card. And was there gateway to getting bruce arians. I gotta say jason's main reason. I came back in coaching and i knew how good of an evaluator was having worked with him. And we say we share the same vision workers in arizona in twenty thirteen adding when it came time for the bucks to be looking for a head coach. He kind of got them. In with bruce arians gave the bucks somebody that he knew and trusted. Having a head coach bruce. And the relationship that i have with him is it. I don't know if we'll ever be repeated. He's just such a unique guy. We have such a unique strong bond. That we we get along well. We even argue

Super Bowl LV: The Goat vs The Future
"Well a ref- last time. We talked to you wild card weekend with six playoff games over two days and you pretty much didn't have any time to eat or sleep this weekend. We only had two games both on sunday. So is your home. Look by comparison on a weekend like this much cleaner. I can say that and not only do i have time to eat. I have time to cook. I'm very excited. That's awesome well. Let's start with the early game. The bucks beat the packers. Thirty one to twenty six tampa bay went up twenty eight to ten in this game. What was the key for them building on this big lead. I think a lot of it's just the pressure they were able to produce the packers reduced to having lucas patrick and billy turner on their offensive line and it gets shaquille barrett and jason paul. There really isn't enough. I mean they're used to having a top three offensive line in the nfl. In fact both of those teams are and without that aaron rodgers is under pressure much more often that affected a lot of throws and of a lot more often than we typically see second and eight jerseys. Jason pierre paul. I think that was a big part of it. But also i mean as many times as tampa bay receivers willing to drop the ball. I mean they are better receivers than the packers have in that secondary in that easy pretty good secondary. A huge storyline throughout this game was also the bucks on third down conversions. What did you see from them. So well under pressure a lot of it is just the packers third down defense was just not very well designed and this has been a typical problem for mike patton and his defenses. And i think the that the buccaneers kind of organised out of their game plan around what they would expect to see on third down and so you ended up seeing like for a brief period of time. They had one hundred percent success rate on third down and like a ten percent success rate on first and second down it was kind of nuts. But yeah i think for the most part. They anticipated some blitzes. This saw man coverage they decided. Hey you know i. I think that chris godwin. Or mike evans can beat this guy and this guy was usually kevin king but they were able to win a variety of throughout the game especially on third down where i think things were just a little bit more predictable for them in the second half. Tom brady three interceptions on three consecutive possessions. Third down to brady throws it under pressure. The packers failed to convert the last two of those into any kind of points. How we're the bucks able to hold that lead after three turnovers. Some of it is the individual talent of the players that they've gotten a secondary thing. Carlton davis is really put a stamp on the nfl especially in the postseason. But he's going to be one of those rising players to watch next season that will be identifying and he's played very well but i think some of it is just to have an enormously fast defense and i think was the kind of got a feel for what the packers were attempted to do offensively. They just had a better understanding of what needed to be done. We're the players needed to be in how to hit those landmarks because they weren't really being ton of their defense. From a schematic perspective. They were just kinda getting to their landmarks. a lot. faster. Whether against the runner of the pass the defining play this game was packers coach. Matt leflore making the call to kick a field goal on fourth and goal from the eight yard. Line down by eight points with just over two minutes. Left and tom brady on the other side of that ball. Instead of going forward here on fourth and goal makes this a five point game again really surprised by that decision joe. I thought that they would go for it on fourth down a reef where you land on this decision by matt leflore not to go forward on fourth down. I think it was a really bad decision. And i think you know based off of what my twitter timeline is saying. That's fairly universal agreement. Interestingly wasn't as strong analytical decision to necessarily go for it on fourth down versus kick. And i think you take a look at some of the calculators that are out there and you know it was better to go for it than to kick it. But given the fact that they had three timeouts plus they were ahead of the two minute warning. There's a little bit more time than you. Typically anticipate so from an analytical perspective. It doesn't seem like as bad of a decision. But honestly i think that you take into account some of these situational factors like the fact that the packers have the best red zone offense. Nfl history as far back as her. Dagoes which i think goes all the way back to like. Thank you ninety. I think that plays a role. I think the fact that tom brady is on the other side of the ball with a bevy of weapons and a healthy offensive line. I think that plays a role. And i think kind of every additional bit of context that we add to this decision makes those analytical models a little bit more often favor of going for it instead of kicking that field goal because they needed to have those two scores. It just doesn't really make a lot of sense of the was

"We continue our look at the NFC Championship Game Game one of our championship double header here on Westwood one, and Mike Evans certainly didn't take along to established that rhythm with Tom Brady and enjoyed it really throughout most of the year when you look at The Tampa Bay offense. Let's shove aside last week's game against New Orleans, Tony they had found a tremendous rhythm, playing the way that Brady the way that Bruce Arians kind of envisioned that they were going to be able to play. Saints took him out of that a little bit last week. Can Green Bay do that? I don't know if it was more. The Saints take him out of it. I think it was what Bruce Arians and Brian Lefferts wanted to do. I think they looked at the first game against the Saints in the said, Hey, we had five rushing attempts or eight yards. We have to establish the run. We have to get the run going. Take some heat off Tom Brady and then let him operate off play action pass and take advantage of what the defense gives him because the Saints played a lot of two. I safety which is hard to throw against. If you don't have no running game, and so I thought the game plan was great. Now coming against the Green Bay Packers. Is it the same formula? Well, they still have to run the ball. But I think the matchups outside are a little bit better. Remember Lattimore, the corner for the sainted had Mike Evans number. I mean, it shut him down, and Evans only had one catch for three. R's Now was a touchdown last week. I expect a bigger game out of the guys outside. This week. But do not think for a second that that same formula is gonna be important. If they have to run the ball. They have to get Leonard for that Ronald Jones again. Not huge days, but at least establish that. Because Tom Brady is great, but you go up the Lambo. It's cold, the weather, everything else dropping back 50 times and trying to win that football game is just not gonna work. The traditional word on Tom Brady, dating back more than a decade now has been pressure him and if you can pressure him with four that's your best ability to be able to try to If not slow him down. Get him off track. Have him you know, Firing too quickly Have him misfiring. Is that the strategy? Green Bay's got to go with you. I think it's a strategy for any quarterback. You have to pressure guys. Now It's just even highlighted more when you play against a guy like Aaron Rodgers. We just talked about a segment ago or Tom Brady, who is amazing, greatest of all time at his position as far as winning football games. It's highlighted because if you don't pressure him, he will kill you. He will dissect you. He will find the guys in. It'll be a long day. When you pressure him. He starts coming back to the pack like any quarterback, wood and all the sudden the clock is quicker. His feet move a little bit and again. He's older, so he doesn't have the mobility. And now all the sudden He's you know, he becomes a little bit like everybody else, and I think you got to get after him and try to pressure him in. It's not gonna be an easy task because that offensive line the second half of the year for Tampa has really played. Well. I mean, they've been outstanding last week. Tristen Worth The rookie right tackle completely took Camp Jordan out of the game. So when you take a look at where it is, right now, the question is for Green Bay. Is it a matter of Trying to strike hard strike fast or is it trying to sit back and give bend But don't break? Well, you tell you gotta try just to win with four initially because the danger is if you start trying to blitz and Brady pre reads it well, he's gonna know where to go with the ball. He's gonna have the answer. So you gotta be careful but seeing him too much. You're really gonna have to try with one with four and I think that's how Green Bay starts the game..
