"I think gen for spending time with me and during the interview and hope you enjoyed that. Look forward to hearing your feedback on her podcast as well so mike. What's the question of the week that came in well. This is not only a question of the week. it's also seems to be the support ticket of the week. So we're kind of combining the old with the new. So got this one on facebook says when i try to upload my filed a blueberry hosting from power press i get this air in air says authentication failed please verify your email and password are correct and what that usually is is that you either changed your password at blueberry or you had us change your email address logging at blueberry or just the internet gods didn't smile on you and unlinked your breasts from your blueberry account so which is go back to link it up. I'll have explicit instructions in the show notes. We won't boy too much with the technicalities but basically got gotta log back into blueberry from power press and that will usually take care of it and sometimes you gotta unlinked the county that might be something going on there but basically Gotta do the step that you did. When he initially set up our press or maybe did later delinked back actually is one of the things we fixed in purpose. Eight point four of we've changed the way the log in works and basically you have to log into blueberry itself in the same browser. Then you can link up your account. You don't have to remember your password or anything. it's cool. I'll so it really works great when it works but anyway so the key is be logged into blueberry then work on your power press plug-in right correct so few in there you got the credentials already and you just lincoln that way but if something went sideways you have to the on link and then re lincoln it goes pretty good now for those of you that have networks You know that's a whole nother conversation there how to link specific account so if any of you have more than one we definitely wanna talk with us on making sure that your media uploads are going to the right bucket so that you can get stats individually for each show of yet more than one podcast with us. Want to talk to us about that as well so again. Anytime you change your password to bloomberg dot com. You have to do the link between power pressing blueberry again. It makes sense that that would be the case. So i understand why this is the question of the week. So don't get scared. Good just need to re link up. It's just like getting logged out. A g mail get logged all the time. It's annoying but just the fact of the interwebs. I think blueberry customers got unlinked as much as i get logged out of g mail. I think you guys would pull your hair out. Luckily doesn't happen very well. No we're not that busy with that question. Just just does happen once in a while. All right that's gonna bring the end of podcast insider here this episode number two seventeen recorded in november nineteen eighteen. That's right oh no nineteenth day mike. "Salang great with Mike Catt is like her best friend, and the cat uses the hedgehog Esser brush, so she quite frequently has cat hair in her quills because the cap Russia's rubs against her. But they are wonderful, wonderful little pets. That's a good know the fact that it could be a potty trained is like absolutely amazing. And I think that they're the mo- they're the cutest little things. I, I met a hedgehog rescue a little group before, and I met there hedgehogs, and they were like to, like, little cats are. I mean they're like little pets. They knew they were there reckon because I had him, stirs gerbils rabid. I've had all different things in my Guinea, pigs in my lifetime, but I'd never seen a hedgehog in them when you got your hedgehog, the mazed me how they acclimate like a like a true, Pat. So I think it's a great idea. And I thank you for bringing that to us. I, I love the idea of the hedgehog in and chocolate bar. I know I mean like I said, they're, you know, they're wonderful pets, and they have the perfect schedule. All I mean, kids are at school during the day. That's when they sleep, that's when they're nocturnal they get home in the evenings. They can, you know have that time together for a little while, then they go to bed and the hedgehog kinda does its thing. So it's a great starter Pat, and it's, it's really a great pet that if you're looking for a pet that is not extremely high maintenance anymore. Talking about spending, you know, just a couple minutes a night with the pet, you know, giving it some attention and having that interaction besides that, you know, it has its own toys. They love cardboard rolls. I mean her favorite toy at everything we buy or the end of the toilet paper rolls, and she'll stick her head in there and run around with the toilet paper roll on her face, but they're really wonderful pets, and their great starter pets. Well, I thank you very much. And I hope that all be learned a lot about hedgehogs because they're the key. It's a little things Google on town near you're gonna love.

"Actually a group of women who work in air tamen predominantly in front of the camera, but we are also devoted to animal rescue advocacy education outreach in just helping animals in any way possible, and that's really how we came together. Because if you live in southern California, especially working entertainment, we would all see each other not only at doing rescue events, but doing awareness into red carpets, and things like that. So we kind of met and just decided, you know what none of us are. Angelina jolie. Unfortunately, or the Kardashians in a different way. So let's pull together work as a team and get the message out about helping animals and let's talk about some of our other members for small one. Which is actually we're about to go to one of her own events this afternoon. A dog adoption is Taylor. Hasselhoff. Yeah. Taylor has a hot and she's wonderful. She, of course, is the daughter of David Hasselhoff with whom I worked for five years on the series Baywatch. That's right. Alexandra. And then Taylor was born, I think. I do wanna call you an icon. But yes Alexandra's on pain, watched sushi's forever. Eternally obey watch babe, and I will say, I didn't really watch, you know, Baywatch bribes seen all your pictures and things like that. I think a lot of guys watched they watched it was extremely popular. But look very popular show, but a lot of people, you look every bit is futile. She did on Baywatch and tailor it just kind of happened organically, it was nothing because obviously, you David our friends, but Taylor is very involved in helping animals. So she joined the group and she was actually on a show on e called the rich kids of Beverly Hills and still does a lot of different TV shows, and we also work with a Patricia do y'all on and people in, you know, in English speaking, market may not be as familiar with Patricia, but she's a former miss Panama. And she is wonderful because she helps us so much when we're doing events where there's a lot of people who speak Spanish. Mine is basically non-existent. It's like no Carney survey. So. No meat and beer. Or do you wanna beer? I don't drink beer. I know the word for a couple of words that I can't say on our podcast. And that's about the extent of my Spanish, she is wonderful. And also just a lot of TV shows on Univision and to among though, and, and then also Kerri Kasem works with our group. She's really kind of focused on elder abuse since everything happened with your dad. She's a daughter of Casey Kasem radio DJ and top forty countdown host, who am I used to listen to the fathers of our animal angels? I've have some connection to my tax. Just because I guess she was born in panel. Bad old. Listen to Casey Kasem in, when I was a kid everyone listened to Casey morning, when they were kids if you were a kid in the eighties, you listen to, you know, you're Canadian, I was a kid in the seventy row. If your kid in ADC listened to American top foia, you know, we love that, and yester- since themes fathers in our group, I would say a lot of second generation Hollywood. But just so devoted to animals, I think, you know, coming from your set Baywatch a lot of animal girls just were on that side. I know what it's I I'm so excited to see what my fellow cast members on bay watch do, for example, you know, Pamela Anderson is a huge advocate for animal by is and Donna, Jericho really worked hard during these recent California. Fires rescuing animals up in Malibu ember and talk a little bit about that later in the podcast in outrun, I forgot to mention through all this. I host the television show for those of you who hopefully have seen it. But for anyone who has not I haven't it's amazing unity on bay. Watch bet I watch you on the live. Host television show called alive and well and it's just like it sounds, we help you live better. Eat healthy look great. We just want you to look great, and feel great and have your best life. So that's what we to on a light in your house for that Michelle, really. Thank you so much. Now, I just want everyone to feel wonderful. And that's what we do with angels. I want people in animals to feel great and have wonderful lives and were syndicated nationwide to just check your local listings in a plug for my show. But I we have a lot of things we're gonna talk about today, and especially we've just come from having the fires going on here in southern California. Yeah. So let's talk a little bit about this is something that all of us need. Whether you're in southern California or his gone through the floods like I used to learn Florida. So we're used to having hurricanes, but you have to prepare. Was there. It's hurricanes earthquakes fires. You have to have an evacuation plan for yourself and your pets. So we wanted to talk a little bit about not only how important that was. But what you should have. So one of the first things that's a really good idea to have is something called a rescue alert sticker. Sam Mike Catt Sam is distracting. We. Animal in tears. Venture animal inches podcast is seeing the one who's been painting Samson, paying another show, try and figure out some solutions. Get a rescue alert sticker. That is a sticker that you put on your front window or front door that will tell first responders, how many animals are in the house, so they know if they're coming in and there's a problem like a fire. They know whom to look for. Right. So hopefully, if you are not at home, they can get your pets out to safety. But if you're expecting announce disaster, unlike we recently had, and if you're in a hurricane area, and things like that you have morning, and so if your vacuum waiting you wanna make sure that you have certain items that I want to have a place if you're not going to take your pet with you have a friend somewhere that you can drive to leave your pet with that's extremely important. Yes. Now you can either find a boarding kennel or if there's you can contact your animal shells. Through to see if they will take the animal during an emergency. If you're going to go to a city shelter for vacuum most cities, take animals for double check because we're in California. It's different here than in other states. So make sure that wherever you're evacuation area is that they will take pets, but I know most of them are starting to take pats because people are staying in their homes because they don't want to leave their pets. Yeah. I wouldn't leave my pets. No me either. I would never I would never ever ever be without my pats or at least having a safe place for the mistake. And one of the things you also want to do is make sure they're micro-chipped and that you have different things like certifications for rabies vaccine has even if they're in a safe place if they were to somehow got loose in some areas, they will not give you back your pet unless you have to have proof of ownership of that, Pat, and you also need to have proof that they've been vaccinated now is that vaccinated for rabies. Is that just for dogs or would it be? For cats and bunnies in bunnies. Do not require any backs in Asians. So I think it's just for cats. Now I didn't even know his for cats. Not even sure my cats have had rabies shots, that I check. I don't know. But I, especially with dogs, they do have to have rabies vaccinations, not every cat goes outside. So the laws may apply differently depending on where you live right now. One thing when we were actually we did not have to evacuate this past week, but we did have our cars packed and ready to go, because just two miles as the crow flies they had to evacuate. So we included litterbox extra litter extra cat food. And of course, that kept the pet carrier and first-aid kits. Always good to have in any medications. They may be on. Right. Right. And I think that one also good thing is to have a recent photo of your cats. Just in case, something happens all your dog where you're. Hi my into that mode rabbit bird, whenever you're running stories is just in case. And it's, it's just in case you need to either your separated from your pet, or you need to make posters to try and find your pet or even to identify them if they ended up at a shelter. Yeah. So that's always a good thing to have. Now, people are so much better, now, the, the government and community entities are so much better in allowing people to keep their pets. Even if normally they might not, like, for example, on a bus or something that's traveling outside of an area that's dealing with the disaster. They might have changed the rules with pets in terms of allowing them in our hotels often will allow pets just at emergency time spent actually hotels are even a lot more pet friendly than they used to be. So if you're evacuating to a hotel you can do that. Also, make sure you have leashes collar. But, you know, I think it's always good much like for people that you haven't evacuation kit. And I know people don't think about it till I didn't have one. Yeah. Until you like know that there's an earthquake, which, again, about ten seconds. Now with our alert system before, but, you know, fires of spending time in Florida. You do know the hurricanes coming, just have everything together, and make sure that your family is safe and out of harm's way, as well as your pets in any have anything you may need in cases situation arises, and there's also more information on that you can go to the Lucy pet foundation dot org, which is Lucy, Pat foundation and they have very, very concise list of things that you need in order to evacuate, which their southern California organization, but again, it applies to everyone. Great excellent. So. Well, let's hope there are never any kind of natural disasters again, not going to happen. I was just be happy if we stopped burning we stopped burning. Yeah. But then yeah. Now, the problem is, it's going to rain next week which brings mudslides. Right. I'm crossing my fingers is just the right amount of rain right to keep it from being a tinderbox here, which it is right now. And at the same time, not getting the ground saturated that all the vegetation is burned up in its slides down on our houses of California's a great place is this is what keeps it from being. It's already got very fast growing population, but these kind of disasters keep people away a little bit. So we don't come soup. I super fast growing we are kind of super fast growing. It's, it's not a secret and it's not re talk a little bit about something that I don't know about you, but I like to walk around my neighborhood, and one of the things that I like to do, especially since I spend a lot of time with Rapids. And as you know, and of course, we were with dogs in the shelters. But I kind of know all my neighborhood dogs, but my husband just kicked me this awful nickname. Caused me. The dog Stocker. Why would he call you that Michelle? Well, I just when I go walking around the neighborhood, I say Hello out of the neighborhood dogs. I know them by now. You even cross the street when you see a dog right? Well, well, this is what's going on. And I don't know if it's just me I'm starting to feel a little bit bad about it, because some of my neighbors are no crossing the other way. I think I wanna play talks too much in this. There's one of my neighbors, who has this beautiful white fluffy dog, and she is just amazing, by the way. I'm not the only one like there's a line of people waiting to pet this particular dog Lulu, and her mom has freely given me permission to pack his ask permission before I touch an animal just like just because it feels invasive to.

"What would you do with it up there? Man. I probably by. Four hundred. Now about to say, all right? Just get one really big one though. Well, TJ welcome to the show. Bill Curtis is going to be three news related limericks with the last word or phrase missing from each you can fill in that last word or phrase correctly. And to the lyrics will be a winner. You ready to play? All right. Here's your first Limerick. My pet is a bit of bread on the servant in his habitat. Those who own sweet dog all live high on the hog I feel lousy because I have a. Yes. Dog owners are happier than cat owners. Turns out it's been proven with a new survey showing how dog owners self identify as very happy. Whereas cat owners is very our bite me again. The survey found dog owners are happier than those with cats. The survey also found and this is true that people with cats are less happy than people who have no pets at all. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that cats make you unhappy may just be that cat owners are miserable losers for entirely, different reasons. Hashtag not all cats because. I. Really, great cat. That was basically like a dog. And now I have a dog and there were like this. I can't even tell them apart. So this it's funny. How people always say that. Yeah. They always Mike Catt is different. No. It's not. Yeah..

"The bills and pills. Feels like home. Is getting down in this town. I'm not sure what you're doing over there. Right now, I'm watching Karen in her chair and actually Mike Catt winter is like a fur coat around her neck almost she's laying on the back of her chair. I don't know if you can see it you got pick that over a little bit more. But. Yeah. Humongous you there. But yeah, she's all sucked out. She wants to go outside to the pool. He wasn't feeling well yesterday. I don't know if it's maybe allergies because down where we're at. We have all the pollen falling down. Now. My whole yard is covered. My car is covered in pollen. Meanwhile, it's I was talking to some friends radio friends yesterday. And it's like it's snowing here. Snowing yellow we eight inches on the ground right now. I'm like, oh, okay. I gotta go. I'm dying of allergies right now. Because all of our flowers and the pollen, and the leaves are sprouting and yada, yada. Hard life in Florida. I watched all the pollen off my car today. And then, of course, it rained. It hasn't rained since I don't know when but every time I wash my car, I can make it rain. There wasn't hasn't been supposed to rain for quite some time. Yeah. Mother nature is a plane tricks on us 'cause it's been more here. This time of the year for us. It's been almost ninety which is strange, but it's it's that way all round known a Radic temperatures, you know, so again climate change. Global warming does exist. Eight four four three zero five seventy eight hundred eight four four three zero five seven eight zero zero pick up the phone and give us a call. That's amazing website too. In the story that daisy just read all these stories that everybody reads during the show or posted on talkin pets dot com. G and the talking just click on the homepage right there. You'll see the news, and there's a video and so on and so forth. But if you want to get those websites, and you didn't quite catch it you can look on the news section there. And all the stories are there with the websites and so on and so forth. But that's for horse owners and stuff. That's a pretty beneficial website, you know, to pick out those diseases, but as you were reading the story, it was like you were like thirty sixty ninety days pick your disease is like, which one do you want it? When do you want to get it? You want herpes in thirty days. Oh, sure. That's what it kind of sounded like this story. But it's like, no you can identify herpes and all these other diseases and horses with this website. So, but it's good information. Yeah. Vaccination that's what they say. But there is a argument out there about over vaccinating too. So you gotta be careful on that. I do of believe in that you can over vaccinate. It's the same thing with the human human body. I mean, you can if you're on antibiotics, you could take too many antibiotics, which doesn't help your immune system to fight things off so much screwed either way. We are. That's very much -biotics and you die of an infection. If you do anti-biotics, then you die of over vaccination, or you know, but yeah, I mean, I can the old days. It's weird because I, you know, grow growing up it was like. We had dirt in our mouth and everything else all the time. And we were outside playing his kids. So we're pretty much immune to all they will now kids saying house and played video games and everything else, and they're not immune to this stuff now. So their body gets intact with it. Then it's like what is this? So it's kind of frightening. I don't know if you saw where they're they're sciences now thinking about where they can build hearts in an organs. Animal human organs just from. They put the design into the computer and this machine builds it. Builds a human heart. So when they're saying within the next couple of years that'll be out there that you know, if somebody has a damaged heart from a heart attack, or whatever they can build you one. So you don't have to go on a donor list anymore. So I was reading that they can actually clone and it's very expensive right now clone do like lab created meet right? You don't need an animal, right? You don't have to. Well, that'd be that's we've covered that story to that. You won't have to eat an animal from a cow or anything. There's a whole lot of scary factors in that. Because if they make the meeting a lab, and we start eating lab meet what happens out of the cows. And everything you're out there. I mean, you're the poop and fart, and that's one of the big things that climate change right there to gas but joke, it's very true. There wouldn't be as house, and what are you doing? Tomorrow with people still kept having cow's milk. Great. Well, yeah. Man. You never know. So.

I'd like to thank my crew Mike Catt crew, which is Charlotte. The timid one Dennis the cat that thinks he's a dog 'cause he's Maine Coon and Molly the diva four enlightening me about different breeds. And letting me know that even about were not specific breeds. That's okay. And then of course, my extended family, these are my community cats that we take care of them when I say take care of. No, I don't just feed them feed. We give them coverage during cold weather. We have fixed both them. And we take care of them with flea medication. I wanna say coverage during cold weather. We're in the south so called weather might be like fifty degrees. But. Two cats from the south that's a lot. So they have a heated house. Yes. You heard correctly Sammy and Jethro have a heated house, and I'd like to thank them for let me make their lives better. And then in turn making me feel better about being able to take care of them. "Four seven three eight seven year pick up the phone. You do what? Dawn in New York did. Hi, dawn. I'm okay. How are you? Find out. All right. Oh, what's going on? Okay. Few months ago. Few cats walking around kitten. I went and left him some food. Two kittens tuned in to five. Okay. That can happen. Okay. Now. I want fight though. The family is. Yeah. She'll take food tonight. Sure. My thing show. No sniff. My she loves you play with string with me. Okay. Okay. Okay. Then Lanny don't know who's who. But he's got long hair. Yes. Beginning to trust me. Oh, all right. Yeah. She stays close. She just watch it. What's happening? Okay. Okay. We got over. I'm not sure about him. You watch this. Well, maybe Rovers not sure about you. Listen, I don't wanna go through all the cats here one by one. But I I will tell you this. If if there are friendly cats, you absolutely can take them indoors if they are moderately friendly over time, they'll become more friendly indoors other safer indoors, they'd be live longer lives indoors, they need to be spayed or neutered. No matter what you do. Now are these barn? Cats. Pharrell? Are they burn cats is this a Barone that you have? Yeah. All right. So. One option haven't touched. So. Uh-huh. One option is to leave some of them out in the barn provides shelter. So there warm it gets pretty cold in New York. It could get pretty hot in New York at certain times of the year as well. So make sure they have shelter to keep out of the sun and make sure, but if they're barn cats are inside the barn and make sure that they have shelter to keep warm, which is the bigger issue. So that's that's that's possible to do. It's also possible based on your description to actually take these cats indoors. You need to stay as I said, you need to spay and neuter the cats. There are veterinarians that will do it low cost and then bring them indoors and don't expect them to all cuddle with you. It could be some will be more trusting than others. It will take time you have to make life interesting indoors. So the good news is they have one another to play with and interact with. Plenty of litter boxes, so they have lots of spaces and lots of choices to go. If your house is on more than one level, you need a litterbox for four cats and dogs. Oh, you currently have four cats. Okay. So I would think twice about bringing in. What is it five more cats? So the friendliest of the bunch maybe you could bring in slowly introduce to your other cats. There's a way to do that to suggest that you're going to be more likely to be successful with all that. And that is to introduce the new cap very gradually put the new cat in a sanctuary room and over time acclimate that new cat two other cats use products like feel away multi cat, the the classic feel away will help to these are very mom products. She's play which is a great stress BUSTER. And when finally finally they come together. Then they all get a reward. They get an amazing treat and what they will. Learn over time is I only get this treat with the this. Other cat is around. But I wouldn't you know, having if I'm doing my math, right? Then you have ten or eleven cats and that is a bit much. So what you should do that is to spay and neuter the cats that are the barn cats. Make sure again they have shelter shelter shelter. You could supplement whatever they the barn with food cat food only place. They can put them now is in the cellar. Mike Catt, you know. Gorgas downstate. All right. So given listen given your situation. There's nothing wrong with having barn cats if they're well-cared-for up. That's the big caveat if they are well cared for. So as I said, and I'll say it again had the cat spayed or neutered. So you don't have more kittens make sure there's shelter. So they're warm and also safe safe away from predators in a shelter, preferably. Also one that's a pie that potential predators. I don't know if you have raccoons up your way, but potential predators can't get into peyote. You can coyotes get into the barn. No, they haven't come that close. Yeah. All right. So then that's not an issue. But make sure the cats have a way to get away from portentous predators. Should they come in? And and also supplement the one food and they'll be fine. We have in the born right at put to bed sitting there. Good and have dry food. I bring out moist who good water, that's wonderful. Thirty five time.

"Here encouraging them to go. So like if they like going on the counter, and you don't want them to be on the kitchen counter, you need to provide them with a better option rather than sometimes going to be really hard to train them not to go on those things unless you say, hey, there's there's somewhere better that you can go. So let's talk about where can people find out more about Tustin paw? And where can they see your beautiful designs if they talked and dot com. That's key U S T A N D T H W dot com. They can see all of our designs have lots of different categories that they can check out or they can follow us on Instagram and same thing. And we do lots of contest giveaways, and yeah, so they can find out more of that. And jackson. You have so many beautiful designs, and it's hard to, you know, this is idea that we really need to come and see it because there is so beautiful. Is there anything else you wanted to talk about that? You didn't get it. Chance to. Yeah. So there's two things that were kind kinda doing. So again, like I mentioned earlier one of our core mission, basically working on the issue of homeless cats. So there's about one and a half million cats are euthanized each year in the US, and it's our core mission. Basically bring that number down as far as we can one point five million is a lot. And so we are currently now working were actively looking to partner with the humane society of the US, and I have reached out to them. And basically, we're just kind of trying to work something out there. So that's kind of like our one of our main focuses for the rest of this year is figuring out the best way that we can contribute and in terms of product development. There's some really exciting stuff going on them posso. I mean up until now we haven't uniform designs. Most of them though, are kind of like beautiful version of things that are. Already exists and what we're really trying to focus on for the rest of this year and next year is basically redefining furniture, and so it's like, okay. Why is scratching posts always shaped like it is is that just how people have been doing it. Or is there a better way to do? You know, why is it not a ball? Why is it? And so we're kind of challenging a lot of those assumptions to really redefine some things like litter boxes and tat toys to really give it some more attention. So we're super excited to the next year. Well, I think everybody needs to toughen pie and check it out and keep visiting and see what you come up with as far as all these great, innovative ideas. And I love that you give back. There are way too many cats that are you know, you have to neutering spayed your cat. You have. That's other shows that that's on cata to those are some other shows definitely we have to all be more responsible. So that number one and a half million is crazy in that nuts. That number can go down. And I know that there's it's wonderful. What you're doing to partner with humane society and drive down. That number definitely is the only place to purchase your product on your site tuft, impa dot com. So yeah. Some of the products we work with different artisans globally. So some stuff you can find. But it's definitely not very accessible to people in the US. I can't we just try to find the best products. So we make and fine products from around the world to bring them. So that it's your the US we're really focused on the US and our site is one of the only places you can find in the US. Okay, everyone you need to head over to tuft and paw and look at this beautiful cat furniture, transmit, you will find something you're kidding needs. And Jackson at liked. Thank you so much for coming on best bets for pets and telling us all about tuft and PA thank you so much for having me. It's been a pleasure. I love the site tuft in pot. It is beautiful the sights beautiful the Furniture's beautiful. And I love that Jackson the founder and ecommerce manager of tucked impa does it with the mission of saving more cats lives. How wonderful is that? So take a look at tuft and PA and get something great for your kitty. I had my staff Mike Catt staff Dennis and Charlotte and miss diva. Molly, they all lead the scratcher..

"Welcome back everyone. I am so excited. I am hurrying. I have with me today. I am most show the cat rapper. Welcome to shoot. Hey, thank you for having me. Appreciate it. Moso most people. I mean, there's rappers and there's people that have cats. The combination. Just it's unusual. So right. You know, you're doing a lot of great things for cats out there and awareness and all that. But I I have to ask how did you start rapping about cats or become the cat rapper? Well, rapid has just been something that I've always done. I've been rapping since I was sixteen. But for me, it's always been about living my truth. I never felt comfortable with rapping about life that I didn't live. So I didn't know two things. I knew that. I love cat ladies. I knew that love cats. I knew that I was a positive guy. So I figure why not live my truth in only rap about the things that I represent and that's what I did. I never thought that it would be anything. I was just living my truth and love that. And that says it all you've also done a lot of videos, and you have y'all crew of. I guess bandmates as he'd call them. Yeah. My cat family. I yeah. I call mine my cat crew. But I guess yours are kind like bandmates. I know the names, but let's talk about them for everybody out there because you have five right? Yeah. At five to give you like a little introduction to all other. We'd love to know. All right. So first off we have DJ ravioli is the ginger cat. He is very cool. He's my studio cat. He's always hanging out in the studio with me when I make my music, and he meows all over the place. He just wanted to be underneath a daddy all the time. And then you have Queen sushi. She is a speaks. She has no for she is very reserved. She's kinda like just Mike Catt. She only likes to be underneath me and be around dad, and she's very like stealthy in quiet. Then you have her sister mega man, mega man is just one big love bug. She just wants to cuddle watch TV. And she much you rub. A belly all night, then you have their mom. Her name is tally tallies. We call it a lover because she loves everyone. She's just full of love if you have hands. She wants you to pet her. So she's just the all around lever of all cats, and then you have black savage. He lives up to his day because he is very bad. He runs around in Arabia. Olea best friend is in the Klay wrestling games. All the time. He's very lovable as well. And that is my cats. What? I love it. Now, I've seen a few of your videos, and is rally only the one that not only do you wrap with your cats twice them, which is not easy because of my cat. I've only dressed one and that's Dennis and wearing a sweater. He was moonwalking because he didn't like anything item, and your cat seems totally cool with it. Oh, yeah. Well, they don't have a lot of I. So it's just something that they they love to be warm. So with Mike ass, they love to just be warm at that extra clothing. And it's just something that we have been doing for years and years. So it's the second hand nature and then look adorable and debate all of them or was it just all of them. Okay. Because one of your cat bath. Right. Right. Right. Right. Well, I did a rat with DT ravioli in in the bath. Because every two weeks, they all get a bath. So not black savage. She is just a regular black cat. He doesn't need a bath. But the other cats has special needs, and what you're seeing is over the course of the week. They get a lot of oil built up on their skin ravioli and makes his for really Tang Li together in for the other kids. They don't have any at all. So they have skin like so it gets really dirty. So every two weeks I have to give them a bath. Anyway. And I just figured hey, you know, what I make it even funnier. Why not rap while I'm giving them a bath. No. That's great. Okay. So let me see banished him so Quincy she sees Bob. She's the like the bald cat, but. And tally are Bob to. Yes. So tally is their birth. Mom and two sisters are sushi and mega man. They are same litter. Got it. And. Yup. Yup. What made you decide because I think the Bob cats are really cool. But most people just think cats need for how did you acquire your crew? Well, I've always been a different person is well, so I kind of felt like I was more drawn to them because to some people Spinks our cats with some people don't view them as cats because they don't have any further. So I'm ball there ball. We kinda have that in common. And also, I've just been a different person a person to walk my own path. And I felt like an outcast growing up, you know, just growing up in life. So I felt like I related to a more different type of cat. You know, I just felt like and people look down on them. So I kinda wanted to shed a little bit of light on that side show. Another version instead of the version that is shown. Well, there is one that's in the video. We're gonna talk about. And I think she's are they all female, I had three girls and two boys the ones despite the Baldwin's are all girls and the two other cats are boys. Okay. Well, I think the Baldwin in the video is gorgeous. So thank you very much shave that. Okay. Here's this is going to be a hard question for you. But I know everybody that's listening is probably thinking. Okay, he wraps but your cats rap with you in songs, so who's the best. I know gingers like you're inside the studio one some thinking, it's probably gingerbread who know how do I know who's the best rapper whose divest rapper, man? I think I got a credit all of them because all of the lyrics in all of the energy is drawn from each of them in in different occasions. So I guess I would have to say they all power me up. Yeah. They all give me that inspiration. I gotta I gotta bring all five. In your great, dad. You know, you just don't provide love, it's they're all good. Thing. I tried. I try not to okay now. Besides that. I love having.

"This is the fourth time that we've done this event fourth time that we've done this. And I started this event because I felt like a law student. I felt like I had done something. Like there was a calling in me. And I had no idea how to bring this out, and I had hit about two million in revenue not knowing what I was going to do next. And so I decided at the time says back in two thousand thirteen two thousand fourteen I decided to do the event I had about half a million dollars in retained earnings from businesses. And so I just decided to put it all on the line. And I decided I had no idea how I was going to get to our one to go my upbringing. I feel like is as as humble as it gets. We were never. Ever in a lot of debt, but we never had anything extra. We hear on reduced lunch programs at school. What am I parent split? My mom was a single mom. I watched that challenge for many years. I'm sure it had a lot of impact on me that I don't even recognize. And so when you hit a certain level of success. And I think those of us who are in this room know, that there's like at some point in your life. There's some sort of calling for something different. And for me that finally started to catch fire when my businesses cross the seven figure Mark having no idea where I was going to take it from there. And so over the last four and five years I've. Been rubbing shoulders with some of the greatest entrepreneurs in the world as a student and after interviewing hundreds of people on the podcast or personally or here on the stage. It has. Held a few consistent themes, and they weren't the themes that I thought they were going to be because I started out on this journey as a kid. I wanted to own a major league baseball team. I wanted to buy the Cleveland Indians. And so my life became obsessed with trying to reverse engineer the greatness of others that I saw that were I had that. I thought were head of me. I kept trying to find the formula. I kept trying to find the system. I kept trying to find the pathway. And I'm Doug. Very deep down this rabbit hole to try and reverse engineer. How other people headed to what they had achieved. And as a people, we're the only thing on the planet that has the ability to envision something in the future. We're the only species that can do that plants. Can't see the future. Mike Catt doesn't know the internet exists. No other no other species. Can envision a future that's different than what is. So what entrepeneurship is is the process of building that? And so there's there's this point at least for me anyway, where there's experience of trying to figure out in our heads. How we go about doing that trying to pull that into the president now for some of us. That's just I see a different life than what I have right now. And for others. That is I have this grand vision for something else. I had this grand vision. I have this thing that I want to solve. I have this passion that I want to amplify, and it's a process of creating that type of change so most of us enter into this because we have some life that we want to experience we have something that we want to bring about in our own lives or in other people's lives. And at some point in our entrepreneurial journey, and I've seen this a hundred percent of the time at some point what we thought was going to make us free. Actress actually, it makes us feel enslaved..

"Just gone through the floods like I used to learn Florida so were used to having hurricanes, but you have to prepare wizards hurricanes earthquakes fires you have to have an evacuation plan for yourself and your pets. So we wanted to talk a little bit about not only how important that was. But what you should have. So one of the first things that's a really good idea to have. His something called a rescue alert sticker. Mike Catt Sam is distracting resulta animal in tears animal. Angels podcasts, it's been painting. Another show try and figure out some solutions. Get a rescue alert sticker that is a sticker that you put on your front window front door that will tell first responders how many animals are in the house. So they know if they're coming in, and there's a problem like a fire, they know whom to look for right? So hopefully, if you are not at home, they can get your pets out to safety. But if you're expecting a natural disaster like we recently had and if you're in a hurricane area and things like that you have morning, and so if you're vacuous you wanna make sure that you have certain items that first of all you whenever place, if you're not going to take your pet with you have a friend somewhere that you can drive to leave your Pat with. That's extremely important. Yes now, you can either find a boarding kennel. Or if there's you can contact your animal shelter to see if they will take the animal during an emergency. If you're going to go to a city shelter for. Vacuum most cities take animals, but double check because we're in California, it's different here than in other states to make sure that wherever you're vac-vacation area is that they will take pats. But I know most of them are starting to take pats because people are staying in their homes because they don't want to leave their pets. Yeah. I wouldn't leave my cats now me either I would never I would never ever ever be without my pats, or at least having a safe place for that mistake, and one of the things you also want to do is make sure they're micro-chipped, and that you have different things like certifications for rabies vaccine has even if they're in a safe place, if they were to somehow get loose in some areas, they will not give you back your Pat unless you have to have proof of ownership of that, Pat. And you also need to have proof that they've been vaccinated. Now is that vaccine for rabies is that just for dogs or would it be for cats and bunnies? Bunnies. Do not require any back nations. So I think it's just for cats. I didn't even know us for cats. Not even sure my cats had rabies shots that I check now especially with dogs. They do have to have rabies vaccinations, not every cat goes outside. So the laws may apply differently, depending where you live right now. One thing when we were actually we did not have to evacuate this past week. But we did have our cars packed and ready to go because just two miles as the crow flies. They had to evacuate. So we included litterbox extra litter extra cat food. And of course, that kept the pet carrier and first aid kits. Always good to have in any medications. They may be on. Right. Right. And I think that one also good thing is to have a recent photo of your cats. Just in case something happens or your dog or your. Mike. Rabbit bird whenever you're. Just in case. And it's it's just in case you need to either your separated from your pet or you need to make posters to try and find your pet or even to identify them if they ended up at a shelter. Yeah. So that's always a good thing to have. Now. People are so much better. Now, the the government and community entities are so much better in allowing people to keep their pets. Even if normally they might not like, for example on a bus or something that's traveling outside of an area, that's dealing with the disaster. They might have changed the rules with pets in terms of allowing them in our hotels often will allow pets just at emergency time. Well, actually hotels are even a lot more pet friendly than it used to be. So if you're evacuating to a hotel, you can that also make sure you have leashes collars. But you know, I think it's always good much like for people that you haven't evacuation kit. And I know people don't think about it until I didn't have one until. So you like know that there's an earthquake which again about ten seconds now with our alert system before earthquake by fires of spending time in Florida. You do know the hurricanes coming just have everything together. And make sure that your family is safe and out of harm's way as well as your pets. And then you have anything you may need in case situation arises, and there's also more information on that you can go to the Lucy. Pat foundation dot org, which is Lucy Pat foundation, and they have very very concise list of things that you need in order to evacuate which there southern California organization. But again, it applies to everyone. Great excellent. So well, let's hope there are never any kind of natural disasters again. I was just be happy. If we stopped burning we stopped burning. Yeah. But then. Yeah. Now, the problem is it's going to rain next week which brings mudslides race. I'm crossing my fingers is just the right amount of rain right to keep it from being a tinderbox here, which it is right now. And at the same time not getting the ground is saturated that all the vegetation is burned up in it slides down on our houses. California's a great place is this is what keeps pick for you from being. I mean, it's already got very fast growing population. But these kind of disasters keep people away a little bit. So we don't become super super fast growing. We are kind of super fast growing. It's it's not a secret. And. Talk a little bit about something that I don't know about you. But I like to walk grammar neighborhood, and one of the things that I like to do especially since I spend a lot of time with Rapids, as you know. And of course, we work with dogs in the shelters, but I kind of know all my neighborhood dogs. But.

"The kidneys can actually be damaged. Of course, the worst case scenario with a that can't effectively urinate because of the urethra is obstructed is death death can happen within hours. So this is again, a quintessential emergency in feline medicine with help we can fix it. In a lot of cases, we can make an impact we can get that cat stabilized. So it's one of those things where if you get help it's a really good idea. It's not one of those hopeless thing. So see your veterinarian. So that help can be started. Yeah. Let me underscore that as an emergency and critical care specialist. This is one of the most common problems we see in the emergency room. I can recall nights where I have helped treat or treated primarily myself more than two dozen cats presenting for obstruction of. Your e threes, and very rarely very rarely am I not able to ultimately send those kitties home to their families to continue leading a happy high quality of life. Yup. But if they hadn't seen you it might not have been a happy ending. Unfortunately, probably not. Okay. So another thing that is an immediate red flag. And I think most of my cat lovers would recognize it. But what about paralysis? What if a cat can't move their limbs one or more of their limbs? Absolutely. So when I hear parents, tell me Mike Catt can't move his or her back legs or Mike Catt was normal this morning, and I came home, and I found them at the bottom of the stairs unable to walk in the pelvic. Limbs are in the hind limbs. There are a lot of things that go through my mind. But the first thing that goes through my mind is. Oh, does this kitty have an underlying heart disease that caused them to abnormally developed a blood clot? And that led clot got lodged in the major vessel right before that vessel split off to go into both of the lakes. Anatomically. We call that a saddle thrombosis in. It's very painful for cats. You've got a blood clot inappropriately law arched in a big blood vessel again, typically because of an underlying heart disease that often parents know, nothing about and now because blood flow is compromised to the back limbs, these cats can't walk. They're scared, and they're extremely painful in this often manifests both as an inability to walk and vocalizing, they're crying, and again, sometimes screaming if I'm being completely honest because of the stress. S anxiety and pain associated with this. These cats need to be immediately transported to a veterinary facility as quickly as possible when I was going through my training too many years ago to admit here, we always said these cats don't have a great prognosis, perhaps the most humane intervention for them is humane euthanasia because their prognosis is poor. I'm happy to tell you that medicine has advanced feline critical care in feline cardiac care has progressed since I was trained. We've learned a lot more and patients who develop this kind of problem a saddle thrombosis developing. This issue is not an immediate death sentence. We no longer immediately recommend euthanasia. It takes a lot of aggressive critical. Care in pain management to get them through this acute crisis, but they can get through the acute crisis. It's not a surefire guaranteed thing. But we can do so much better today two thousand eighteen than we did five ten twenty years ago. So I would say the only sure thing about that is if you don't seek help things aren't going to go. Well, correct. And another thing to highlight is we're talking about saddle thrombosis. We're talking about that abnormal clot, lodging and blood vessels in compromising blood flow to the back limbs when a pet parents saw that their cat couldn't walk in the back legs. I think it's important not to be blinded or put the blinders on that saddled thrombosis, the only thing that can cause those signs and a kitty there's a lot of other reasons that an animal may not be able to walk. There's a lot of other disease processes that could explain why kid he's not able to use their back limbs bone problems nerve problems weakness caused by organ dysfunction in so getting the kitty to a veterinarian to be thoroughly evaluated is of absolute importance only a veterinarian can help, you know, the difference. Yes. Exactly. Okay. So I wanna tell you about something really cool that I have discovered and it's called pretty litter cat litter. Now, you might think that cat litter is not really something to get excited about. But I'm a veterinarian so gross things tend to excite me. Now, the cool thing about pretty litter though, is that it has a built-in health monitoring system. So it changes colors and kind of helps you keep tabs on your cats urinary health. So that you know, when it's time to call your own veterinarian other things about it. That are super cool is that it's lightweight the whole. Entire bag only weighs four pounds. And it lasts for an entire month for one cat..

"Com. Rewind. And this addition you'll hear about Johns new editions as well as Marty's peacekeeping kidding mardi and Saint Augustine Florida. What's going on with your cats? Well, wait a minute. I are you going to tell me, congratulations. I became a cat. Daddy. Really? Yeah. I just adopted two kittens you made the best move of your life telling you care for children that your best friend a child. You don't have to send them to college. They don't care if you leave your underwear on the ground if you don't shave or whatever you made the best decision. Anybody could make the underwear on the ground. You leave him on the floor. They play in them. Yes. The thing about it is they don't care if they love you just to stay a little food and give them a little pet on the head whatever. Yeah. And they're always there for you. There's no doubt about the edge. Such a joy, a pleasure. Very good. Very good. What's going on with your cats? Mike Catt peewee. He's very talkative. He understands English. And he has he's very talkative cat. I started like he's speaking Chinese. But anyway, what happens is the whites. Myself will be involved in what he thinks is an argument. It might be an argument about politics might be a real human type argument as soon as the voice was started to raise. He walked in the middle of the tour starts saying things in cat language. I'm getting the impression he wants us to stop arguing. But my question to you is really telling us the stop arguing or is it just at the tone of the of the noise is like annoying have those equal. I know he's a very talkative cat. I think he's trying to be peacemaker and he's actually trying to make us stop arguing. It's a cat or a dog or any type of animals. I think they pick up on our emotions big time. I mean, if they're bonded with you. I mean, of course, if they're gonna see distress. I mean how many times in the past? I mean, I know you've gone through this Katie, and I've gone through it myself that when you were depressed or something was going on. And you know, whether you're crying or really upset that your animals pick up on that. So if you're having an argument with your wife, of course, your cats are going to pick. Up on that. If it's something that they don't normally.

"Yes. Yes. Happy new year. Happy new year to you, sir. I'm a. I live in Newport, Richie, and I'm wondering about animal cruelty laws. Mike Catt was cut douse with gasoline by a neighbor, and it was trapped and I've got nowhere with the police are animal role has tried. But the culprit the neighbor had got rid of all the evidence. What is the law here about not channel must died? And I took them to a veterinarian. And he's seriously injured. What are what are the what can I have done here? Please don't seem to want to do anything. No reports. They don't care. I mean, they have an attitude. Yeah. Yeah. So basically if they don't have enough proof. To be able to file charges that will hold up with the state attorney. They're probably don't don't think it'd be worth their time in the counties and states money to follow case with no evidence to be able to convict someone. So then that leaves you with the option of making a civil case and following a lawsuit. Against the person for the harm. They did. But once you get to court you have to prove it as well. So I don't know if you have a history of it. If you have other neighbors who same thing happened to if you you can have circumstantial evidence try to prove your case. But you need to have some evidence is going to be convincing to a judge in a jury if necessary. For damages. And then you have the question the economic question of whether it's really worth your time and effort to spend money on a case, you might lose. So I know there's a lot there's like going on on a case like that whether you should pursue it. And if the state decides, they don't they can't pursue it. Because it wouldn't be economical because they don't have any proof in the person will just get an attorney would be dismissed. So none they're going to really go after unless they could prove continually prove damages. Well, the thing is it's it's the thing is it happened so quickly. This guy calls me up in tells v. John come over quickly. I have the evidence of this phone call. Some over clover. Quickly promoted quickly, which I did. And then I got there, and I can't I'm a witness to it. I saw it. I smelled it. I had animals controls gasoline was all over the cage. And I like I'm left hanging here. I'm like, I can't get satisfaction from my animal to I'm the you can I mean you can follow lawsuit. You can present your case, and whatever evidence and personal testimony. You have then it's just up to a jury to decide if they want to convict. Yeah. I mean, just. Just terrible. Well, I mean, you can't the on the other side of the fence. You can't accuse somebody of something without evidence. Because you could accuse them of anything you wanted to tell tell the story about it. And who knows if it's true. I mean, it's you gotta have some proof. I don't know what else to tell you. All right. I guess I guess I have no way of defending my animals. I appreciate your your advice. Thank thank you. Let's go to J C J C clicked off his thing is we clicked him on.
