"Mike Carpenters online. Hey, Mike, How is the atmosphere last weekend? How are you, buddy? Thanks for having me again. Yeah, definitely interesting Having no fan that big, but we'll have a nice little cheering section that up. There's some choice words at home thinking about the fight so Maybe they felt it in his favor. Hope is there you could hear them all those words pretty clearly considering no one else is hearing. But ah, strange experience for sure. Hopefully not too many more of those. So Saturday night on Ah, onii SPM. It was the powerful pile King Vasily The Matrix Lomachenko now 14 into I lost to tee off e mo Lopez Junior now 16. I know. He's a lightweight Champ Unification fight all four belts. How did you score that fight? I actually had it a draw. 1 14 1 14, as did Andre Ward. How did you score the fight? I thought it was a fairly easy, straightforward fight score. I had 1 15 1, 13 and savor of Lopez. Alright, but as next element said on Twitter, you know I agree with him, he said. The acceptable range That site was 1 41 14 with you had full of Andres. Anyone there to 1 16 1 fold in favor of Lopez and Look, I had around two with swing round I gave it to Lomachenko and I also give him a tinkle eight through 11 Hope those eight year 11 rounds are pretty clear. And then you know, of course, little bit stormed back with 12. But obviously if I could bake for rematch, and unfortunately right now, it doesn't seem like a little too interested in that. And again I agree with you. I I had the second round. Paloma. You know what? Let me preface this next comment statement when we want to call it if you will. I did a lot of radio back in the day. A lot of boxing with the great the late, great You know Harold Letterman, Thea, unofficial official with HBO and covered a lot of fights, and I know his daughter, Julie Letterman scoring the fight. I don't understand how she scored this fight, and she's covered a lot of fight. She scored a lot of fights. She's one of the best in the business. She she's very good. What she does. She had a 1 19 1 11. I don't understand. How she could score that fight that lopsided, But more so round number eight, giving it to tell you female when clearly Love the one that Eve around. I've watched that that he's around five times and I can't see how possibly she gave it to him. I know you know what you could have been watching. You know, I'm sure you're sick of it is I am every time there's a good fight, and this was a big one. Got a great results in the ring. We have a rule of talking about this instead of the fight and just stuff, But I mean any way you look It's just disrespectful Lomachenko they're talking about. Like you said any through 11. You're telling me you don't want one of those around when he was rocking Lopez, and you don't have that barrage a shot. Come on. That eighth round. He was his best round of the fight. And again, I watched it like five times. I'm going. You possibly score this for the other fighters. It's not even like up for debate. Right. And when I'm gone when you get a result like that, we're left with two options. Unfortunately, either ineptitude or corruption. Neither one is. You don't want to go down. I know. I know Halo much too long. I know it's his M O. We kind of Feels out his fighter and that's what he's done his whole career. He was a little bit ridiculous was you know he wait a little bit too long Did he not? Yeah. Wait do on. I mean, look, I know for the other love during this wanted to diagnose her guy and see what he has tried to get the distance in the range. I get all that, but you got it. You could sit up for three, Maybe four rounds, tops, You know, waiting. Feli eighth round to get going. He basically conceded the fight. I mean, in my eyes, I know you. I know you and many others had it a draw. But I mean, put yourself back like that. I'm sure if he did. If you had another camp, he would do differently. Well again I had at 1 41 14 the drawing. And when they put the graphic up on ESPN that Andre Ward had the same thing I'm going All right, You know, sometimes I'm an idiot. I don't I'm not paying close enough Attention and again. I'm just a knucklehead fan Lucky enough to win the radio. That's a fan of boxing but have covered you know, 80 chip should fight. Sit and watch the Brazilian so I kind of know a little bit more some, like, you know, I feel pretty good about it. Then I see the scores come out and I'm like, Wait a minute. Now I see the 1 19 1 11 going. What the hell did I just watch? Right, And that's a problem of boxing. There's no accountability is the head of the commission on every side and I started questioning him and he was kind of dismissed. Oh, I wasn't watching the cycles enough. I was focused on replay. And it was obvious that there's not gonna be any He asked for joint has to explain herself, right? This is why this keeps happening over and over again on to the next bite onto the next controversy, and you know that someone has to do something about that at some point. I think we've been saying it for a long time. Hey, man, you got two minutes left here. Is there a rematch clause or no? No rematch clause. Unfortunately, no react Lopez at the end of the fight, and we said, Do you wanna have a react? He said. Why I already beat him once. All right. Fair enough. Lomachenko had surgery on his shoulder. I mean, is that excuse sirs is just part of the deal. I mean, maybe, you know, maybe both get surgery, so I'm sure it was serious. As Luke yet injuries to the training camp, you know, they're brutal. Guys are training at a Mac three for 30 whole 13 weeks getting punched in the face during it, so no one's going into the fight. But look, that's all the problems. He had reconstructive surgery back in 2018 and sound like a reinjure of that is the most important question, Mike. I'm going to ask you. How's the food in the media room? Yeah. The food was uninspiring families. So that elite fighting it up right. There you go. And did you gamble it all? You win any money? No, no gambling. We couldn't leave the bubble. So gambling. I guess I guess I could use the MGM at but I did not get on the fight. No money one or off you go, mate. Hey, keep up. The good work with the athletic covering boxing would do this so well weekly segment. Okay, man, it's it's going to be fun. Really appreciate it again. All right. There he is. My coffin sure again covers boxing for the athletic and again. I don't understand the scoring the fight.

"Got paid. It was cute and that. Listen listen. Listen I. HE needed listen. I'm going to say this because that. That cannot be going on, said He. He said that national choir was the ones that had the trump stories. Listen or he said tabloids the national enquirer he made to Berry said it's on different. Don't mix them up. That's stuck. But where he but he said that they had the the trump payoff story, he said tabloids had the trump story. That's what he said. I thought that it was a study done the tabloid break more news, but then he said that they had the Clinton stuff than they had the The trump's listened. The national enquirer buried trump stories is called catching kill in the in the journalists community. You catch a story and you kill it like you can't trust a outlet. Of any sort that is trying to favor somebody they all do it, but in this case like that's the dirtiest filthiest type of journalism. You'RE GONNA pay somebody so you have a story and bury it. That was then that was. That's what tabloids do. That's the kind of stuff they pull. For Boxing, it doesn't work. For boxing it doesn't work like that. You know people. Stories grow legs in boxing. So you know you can have the smaller source. Remember you know all the big reporters in boxing say sauces. They all say sources all of them. So. They, WanNa to give away right, and you can pull a story out of nowhere though robot I listen. I don't hiding hiding ever seen. How not I never seen. But when have you seen? Tabloids covered boxing in America I'm not saying what do you mean we get? The you from the UK. I said Americo. Doesn't mean I'm yeah I was Zine. I didn't even know that was a tabloid. Only I mean I think it is. I'm not sure, but listen TMZ is. And, they cover they pay for all day. They rushing day running down on you. They pay for sources. They pay for stuff, so TMZ is the biggest in America, so yeah boxing does pick it up. TMC's had wilder they have. They have had floyd numerous times like crazy TMC does box. They literally created teams sports. Listen I feel you adjust. Look the Mike Carpenters of the World Dan Rae fills the world the Steve Camps. That I put in that work, you know what I'm saying and Oh. TMZ doesn't I mean look I'm not going? Say They don't. They're not hard workers. A lot of these guys you know they. They're all over the place, but on a magister journalistic integrity is something. We need in today's age because we don't have it. You Got Fox going for their guy. NBC going for their Guy, you know CNN tries to be down the middle, but they clearly have a you know an agenda in. You know it's just you can't trust a Lotta sources. I'm being sold. The TMZ had the Tang video as right they pay. They probably pay that. The tank video in a in a in a you know in in you know that video. In the basketball game, but let's go to. James would up. Was Good. Data, would it do? We in the building and baby a gotTa give quickstart out, so my beautiful wife Kelly Wilson what I mean. We celebrated twelve years of marriage yesterday and we thought. That's actually y'all twelve years longtime beautiful man. congrats a tough. It's tough. That's work you know what I mean. Let me let me let you know what I mean that took. is taking. Me But. You know that's that's what we'll do. You fill me in speaking man. I just love to show family. I love this show. Man I'm a I'm a loyal supporter to the day I die. I'm with you next on You know what I'm saying. Tyson fury. You know what I'm saying is. Can't somebody around him? Paying man's back off. You know what I mean. It's too easy man. I mean boxing is the only sport where promoter can take out. You know what I'm saying that commissioned. Put them in a nice hotels. Go to breakfast lunch with him. I mean think of any other sport. If if the you know what I'm saying like Jerry Jones went to breakfast with the referee. Frightened Shit like that. You know what I mean like. People would be looking at it. Crazy man and boxing is the only sport you could get away with that kind of stuff. 'cause it's. It's just not commissioned correctly. Still, get. All involved. Just the wild wild west be you know what I? mean so I mean you cannot. You can't put it past that somebody went to. This man threatened them. Do some money at them I mean I. It's all kinds of stuff that they could have did to the man. You know what I mean. Let's let's let's hope he don't end up missing on his farm. That might be the next story and then we really. Looking into Tyson. Yeah like that, but anyway man I hope Tyson gives found out about this seat and I. Really do because he robbed my man Deontay. And and I have never sat right with me, you know. From the chance and.

watching the sport expect to see more more than forty seconds i predicted mcgregor is going to win this fight inside of two rounds i thought he would take him out here's the deal fifteen seconds in cowboy sony was done he got here with those shoulders in the clinch and he was done look like he gave up it was just an atrocious performance on his part i just wish somewhere be like what the fuck trolls did he got his nose baroque need and then head kicked he fucked up man dentistry and a fighter that's calm cool collected ready for pressure as outweigh by some of that clearly and over their head when you look at cowboys sarony is like like seventy five whatever those not the guy he was not prepared for the fight tonight we knew connor was going to be prepared we knew connell is going to be ready we wondered whether or not he would take take him out early off see as a fight goes on thrown as the bigger stronger guy supposedly for him to be heard and fifty seconds get away from the "And so Mike when we think of professional boxing you know most people don't typically think of Saudi Arabia. How did the fight end up there? There was a big bidding we'll bidding match for this fight. It was. It was between Principality Stadium in Cardiff Wales. which is a Dome Stadium? The around ninety thousand and before that there was talk of poisoning the Madison Square Garden. But at the last moment. Eddie hearn promoter. Josh was promoter received eight another twitter. The this was from Prince Khalid in Saudi Arabia. Saying that he he really wants to bring the fight here and Eddie admitted that is actually rooted. I kind of dismissed it. There's been so much talk over the years of a FICO means you buy or other places in the Middle East and it's always has been out there to kind of dangling and Mike tells a little bit about this Unusual stadium that they've built. It's actually on the site of UNESCO heritage location. which is I think there's a little will be more than eight hundred in the world? They built this in around six weeks. It's crazy it's fifteen thousand seats. I was there today and it's beautiful. It looks like there was a great sight. Sight lines all over the place giant video screens on all four sides should be a great setup for the fight and the crazy thing is part of being UNESCO heritage site you. I can only use it for six months. So they're going to have to tear down afterward and has the build up. Felt different in any way compared to other heavyweight bouts that you've been around it lines up with a a lot of other big fights in boxing war. Of course there was the rumble in the jungle between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali was Zaire Africa. You had the Thrill Manila One of the greatest fights of not the greatest of all time that was Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier and of course Eddie Arabia's paying a ton of money to bring this fight here I've heard anywhere from forty nine to sixty million. So wow this means a lot mike. What do you think is at stake for each of these guys? Let's start with Andy Ruiz. What's at stake for him? Everything if if he loses you know people are GonNa say he was just it was a one hit wonder he was a fluke and he said that he really was really motivating him as he wants to shut up all the doubters I because he knows everyone's still doubting him but if he wins everyone's going to be become has become believer and I think he has a chance to be a real legitimate star. Two possibilities are analyst analyst him if he wins this fight and he gets cement himself as one of the biggest stars in the sport. And what about Anthony Joshua I mean again. This is a guy who was heralded by some as like the next Lennox Lewis in the next great heavyweight. He really needs to win. Because if you lose his people are going to just say that he was good as we thought he was. And where did you go from there. It's hard hard to go from selling out stadiums and making four million fifty million even sixty million with some people think he's making for this fight to me. He's still make a lot of money. He still be a big name but it wouldn't be the same again all right. Then Mike. What's your prediction? WHO's GonNa come out on top? I usually feel like I have a good grasp on. WHO's GonNa win even on imprompt plenty of times? Of course. This one's such a coin flip fight so many variables were fighting outdoors in the Middle East. But I'M GONNA go at Andy Res I just I think I don't think it was a fluke. I think he's GonNa prove that he is the real deal. Medi Has Anthony. Joshua was number and that an old axiom but styles make fights and I think his presser style l.. And it's ultra quick. Hands are the Elixir for Anthony. Joshua's power will mike. Sergio Mora what's upsurge you you had that lined up already did I came into this podcast prepare I just really am and by the way it's not Sergio after Kovolev left I wanna be called Sarah Gamarra surrogate for this I think that's probably out I showed you can is again here man what's up happy to be here this is just what we do with Sergio I discussed this on broadcast and off broadcast as well the back and forth between the two of us all right so here in Los Angeles we where we are part of our participating in going to the press conference for CANOVA's for Sergei Kovalev Canal going up to one seventy five to John's cove liver piece of the light heavyweight title Cove live coming off a pretty tough fight August twenty four th he's got a quick turnaround a back in the ring thing early thoughts on on this fight Mike they they put it together relatively quickly after that That Kovolev win against Anthony Yard what do you think if I we wanted I think everyone wanted g. three but since we're not getting not I love this fight I think it's easy work for Canal Alvarez and fight because he's going to become a happiness four divisions if you really recognize that win over rocky fielding for that Secondary Title Book Kovolev is now thirty six he's been in his knocked out a couple of days limes recently and like you said in real big trouble against Anthony Yard he got hurt to the body not fight that's his biggest weakness big strength body punching I think this is GonNa be really big night for Canal Sergio Canal moving up those two weight classes and Kovolev is a world champion coming off win but he's a significant underdog three two one four to one maybe five to one in some sports books who knows how high it's going to go what do you think of Kennel being such a favourite in this one well numbers don't lie they probably l. something we don't I mean when we look at spreads and football we always say why is that then you realize why so I give Cobra left some opportunity some chance because he's so big it just takes one point and then that's when you get surprised but I'm with Mike here I think I think he's been softened up by Andre Ward and that the fighting you know one thing he's been fighting like an older fighter really will he's fighting behind a jab- a lot more excited as aggressive and he's never been much of a mover but when you are a mover when start hitting your your your mid thirties you start being more more you sit down on your punches more now because you want to because you have to and he's on the ladder gear Morgenthau you become more exciting cross there's always been exciting no he's always crush people now he's getting somewhat crushed and touched up so that's what makes it exciting I think that's canal has been seeing there Anthony Yard had success in the seventh round I watched it last night it was a body shot started his his his I wouldn't say onslaught but his the I turning for him so the body shots are there and I I love saying this line body shots have a good memory they don't forget and that's what I think no hours and his team can you Sir Can you get better at defending the body shot or taking the body shop is that possible like no no no you're on a good Chin and the thing about the body the older you get yet for some reason you can't take him anymore I used to take great body shots and and I was getting hurt and sparring mls three camps and I had no way to escape it even when I the elbow dug into my own liver and I'm serious and it will still hurt so that's when I realize like wow this ain't gonna last much longer can you see mike like a path to victory for Kovalyov in a fight like this it would really shocked me I'd make the odds even bigger than four to one just because I think you know perhaps top three pound for pound you can make a case that he's number one and it wouldn't bother my make that case often because at some point you can look at raw talent but you have to look at resume right like you guys resume and Kello consistently he fights the best and you could argue the first off can fight but consistently beats the best and Co great but the signature wins are more on the side of the Ledger Person I have the monster from Japan number one number two I have in front of Terence Crawford in front of you said better resume moves through the way classes seamless sleet seems as power always seems to carry and I see a lot of people saying oh canola so much shorter than Kovalov we is shorter he's a stocky Mike Tyson who has broad shoulders we saw him over here he's a big Guy I think he's GonNa thaw really well seventy-five Cova the only real chance I love cobwebs Jab it's excellent he did a good job controlling yard with the jab but like Sergio said he can't take it to the body and they always say what you put in your body really would affect how you can take you there until the mid section cove is always drinking still to this day it doesn't take care of himself between fights so maybe the quick turnaround will help but also he was in real big trouble a couple of punches from being knocked out at thirty six I think he softened up big time surgery do you think of the turnaround that's another aspect of this fights on August twenty fourth now fights again on November second effectively going right back into camp after a few weeks off is that good for him bad for him not a factor at all how do you see it back to what Mike said no I know I can take body shots yeah it's the the vodka yeah sure Mexican what are you talking about thank you know but look you can't take you you can't take not only body shut we can't take it Schmidt Once you start hitting your mid thirties that's just the way it is it's father time it's undefeated and that's what's happened with Cobra left not only the fast living not only you know everyone knows that he liked to to have his vodka drink and live hard and train hard and I'll be honest with you a lot of fighters do that way our live that lifestyle I mean very few you get Mae West Bernard Hopkins and Andre Awards very very few So I think the Fast Living You burn the candle at both ends and now he's trying now he's trying to remedy everything and live that clean lifestyle but it I would say it's a little bit too late he barely got away with with yard he didn't get away with it with Elliot Daryl Alvarez a first time but he's still on hall of fame great fighter in great fighters know how to turn it around the turn around the coming back so quickly was advocate get into his A. T. up a little bit here benefited greatly from going into the camp for Dmitrenko Kim ankle than straight into the AJ fight apples and oranges like injuries a younger guy certainly but he he benefited could could Koba benefit is apples and oranges Reza's in his late twenties I mean you gotTa Alvarez was in his mid to late thirties that's the big difference the body needs to recover when you're younger and and here's another thing it was a physical fight if it wasn't a physical fight of as a quick knockout I wouldn't say much but to go from camp to back to back camps that's the hard hardship on the body it's Audie recovering from that the fight itself okay he had a difficult fight that's fine but the camp to prepare for that those thirty six minutes of fighting that it's war breaks down your body so it's not really fight it's the camps preparing for the fights I really beat you Mike the other side of it is that Kovolev is still powerful guy like he's still can throw Oh and that's always the last thing to go in fires seen time and again that their punch is still there is that you think that's a variable in a fight like this or Keto proven that his Chin is starting up take even the biggest cova left shot certainly danger in this fight for Cornell a guy who started his career below one fifty four and when I title there but he has one of if not the best oxygen we saw him just shrug off massive punches that landed flush with Gough and what I love about Canoas he knows how to write a punt Greeley same way mayweather did it the same way hopkins does he has he's actually a really good defense a fighter I don't people talk about that enough and I just think that for him to get really hit by cove to get knocked out he would have to lose focus and he's one of the most focused fighters we say I would be surprised the maturation of of canal has been remarkable like he used to be a Guy Sergio that didn't cut the ring off kind of follow guys found it wasn't very good at that the Chin of you want to call it suspect wind was it Jose Miguel cotto knocked him down early in his career but he took gluskin best shot as Mike said after jab to the forehead and kept coming I think he'll take it but I think he's got to be careful he wants to get on on the inside that's how he's going to win this fight if it's a fight at a distance that's Cova best shot because Coppola loves fight at distance where he can just throw that jab up there and followed up with the right hand but if he fights on the inside I think he's going to break down you'll have to get on the inside I just don't see Kovolev wanting to get inside he's he's GonNa WanNa try to fight on the outside of course but like I said earlier he's not a boxer he's never used his legs he's always been the one doing the crushing now he.

"Today and every day this is the inside outside guys on WJR euro Chuck and can welcome back to the inside outside guy they'll hopefully everyone out there is cruise in and being safe I mean it's kind of tough not to be safe for me to open not going real fast I don't think it's about Macomb is with us from a home construction you know Bob on the show for the last lease for five years Bob probably at least yeah yeah thought is a residential builder and re modeler and what to tell the people a bit about yourself Emma Caldwell we're located in Troy we've been around for sixty two years we take care of our people and work in pretty broad radius from that location so we're going like crazy and life's good well let's get your perspective Bob of the building industry in southeast Michigan because you're on the ground you're seeing you're fighting you're doing it every day also like up there what's it like up there it's good we're seeing a little bit of a contraction as far as new home sales new home builds but a big expansion and remodeling okay and I think that's a lot of people are fine and the value and remodeling their homes because the new homes have gotten so expensive you know it's just so pricey install due to a labor material costs that are going up every year every seems like sometimes every day doesn't it does and so I tell people and it sounds like a sales gimmick but it's not a you want to hold off till next year that's fine but you're going to spend quite a bit no warning to get the job done the next year have you ever seen that you've been is industry six decades right five decades of yeah have you ever seen prices for labor and material rice so fast in such a short time because I I I I haven't no not really but you see a lot of there's just a Lotta gouging and all forever supply and demand was in fact it's right now you know there's there's no labor out there are so if if you don't have a stab which crews working for you forget it I mean if you are a homeowner and you were going to try to do that yourself forget it we have our our guys so if if it wasn't for that you wouldn't get any help because there's just no help out there so right now you say is tough time to try to get into that kind of home building or maybe general contracting business if you haven't already made those relationships yeah I try to make a different decision for sure you know it's funny you talk about commodities prices going up you're an old dog like we are okay and that's a compliment that an insult when we came out of the recession in the eighties with member we saw some commodity spikes really horribly right but the labor didn't match and it was going up but it wasn't so today we're seeing those commodity prices go here's here's what happens if if you make dry wall for a living you see this market has a chance to raise your price a dry wall because once you raise the floor it never goes back down right and right never goes on like taxes never good good good point so word drywall copper for wiring you know the materials and shingles may stray all this stuff goes up they raise that floor in a market like this but I can't set the labors right behind it in the key to running a successful company like McCollum construction beside your ability Bob you know the plan and and canon governed is having great people as yeah I mean if you don't have good people you can destroy your reputation I don't care if you've been around six years or sixty years like we have you'll destroy your reputation and just one or two jobs I mean your snow have to have good people are everything I think they are and in most all of our subs have been with us for years the help is a revolving door for the subs but all have the same two principles on the job like my electricians and he'll be him and he and his partner will be on the job but I nectar never recognize the help that's within the sad to say what the carpenters it's a revolving door for labor out there yeah as it was a very very tough now we're using the word sob let's explain to people what a sub is our subcontractors we will get that question a lot is do your people use subcontractors for some reason in a lot of the construction industry there's a negative to the worst subcontractors now a builder like yourself it's already can be it's a positive it's the only way to do the work you do explain people about your relationship and about having subcontractors why it works from a con construction will back twenty years ago we used to have our own payroll we asked to have you know bricklayers finishers carpenters everything except for like Christians and plumbers on the payroll but the business climate today's change so much you can't afford to Kerry insurance to carry all the payroll things you have to Kerry for your for your people so everybody goes to sobs there really are no more general contractors out there Sabine everything out because if you didn't do it you couldn't manager prices and you couldn't stay in business you know one of the way cancer cans hi durable yeah he's so good it's like yours have a look at this over the years when you go to the symphony orchestra you see a conductor and what does he do she do they go out and find the best violinist in the best cellist in the best timpani player and then they orchestrate them such they that they play in harmony and I look at your job as being the same way you got to find the best Palmer the best frame of the best Mason and then it's up to Macomb construction about McCall to orchestrate them to create the best result yeah that's exactly it the my concern is that I've had the same people for the most part for years and years and it's just like I say the help around change but you know we're not getting any younger Mike carpenter he's Startin to get beat up and so are my like Christians getting beat up and sore same with my plumber so you know we have to start qualifying people to slide in that slot down the road because there's gonna be a big change in five years when all one all of the when all the older guys are gone I think we're going to we're going to be in for a real problem as far as help goes and getting things done you know what you gonna try on housing a young person at the job and housing there's just such opportunity out there now when we talk about sobs bottom line they're not your employees but you're you're you're responsible so someone says they have a sub do it and they're telling me that is to solve problems that's not the issue any issue they have on the job comes back to you and you take care of it correct we are the Buck stops here your contract is with me write your contracts not with the sub in the sub works for me and and really unless you ask for I tell you you shouldn't really even know he's just so he works for me and we have total control over Hellman and it's really not a problem for us because like I say we've had the same people for so long but the thing is they know what I expect from them and in Noah that they get the job done I am most of our team partners have have employees to one of the reasons I like the sub may I tell you the way to do with the subcontractor is because a holds them more accountable ended up here you situation employee makes a big mistake they messed up a big job you legally can't hold them responsible to fix that chat room you have to pay them again to fix that job legally if it's a subcontractor this was at the job you go okay you're not getting paid to list done right in that way the homeowner knows they get a good job especially from someone with a reputation like yourself that's why I say it's the only way you can keep a handle on pricing if I if I have my own drywall guys and they go out there and they leave a loaded dry wall of the rain and don't bother to cover it because you have to wait to get home then I have to go buy another loaded dry wall if my dry wall guy does that hi Tom we got to get rid of the dry wall and he's a specialist exactly the plumbers are specialists the framers of specialists you know I when I go to the dentist that hygienist is a specialist or if you're having surgery the anesthesiologist is a specialist so I see that as a real positive because makan construction can be more flexible than to if you need a stone Mason versus a black Mason you can hire a specialist in stone Jacqueline I think one of the biggest things we have going for us is because we have separate such a reputation with ourselves and that they have looked workforce for so long if I have a little problem on a homeowner jabber they're concerned about some I just pick up the phone and he goes back and he does that we don't have to have a big discussion and a big written agreement I just say Hey Mike you got to go back to that job and they had a problem with the dry wall or a piece of trim on the spot and it's taken care of that's what builds your reputation as the little things anybody can get a load of lumber dropped on the job together so yourself con construction right now how are you doing new are you building new houses right now we don't have a new house going right now I I think we're going to have one coming up soon but it's mostly all major I mean major remodeling two and three hundred thousand dollar remodels going right now really some people are just when you look at what it costs to buy a piece of land now days and then you want to build you know the average house nowadays is three thousand feet that seems to be the minimum eight thousand square feet right so you take the cost and the plan cost you're you're much better off to put that money into your home and the resale Sir in most cases and that's what we do when you come and meet with us we sat down in the office we look at your plan whether it's new home or a used home we do what we call value engineering and enjoy the best way to do the project and then we try to run through the numbers what is your house worth the square foot right now the way it's set what's it going to cost to replace it no because that's what people want to know who should I buy a new is it smart for me to remodel and nowadays it's very smart to remodel John a comfortable in their home yeah I mean yeah if I could stay in my home rather than have the stress of moving to make it to where I want it just what I what I do that now are you what are you going up more or you going out more what I mean by that for the listeners are you doing additions upper you do additions out well of course we do both but it's always more economical to go up in most cases it's you know we'll put like a second floor on a ranch it's much more economical to go up so I imagine you would tell someone if they think I have a dish in which way they should go that they should go what they're going to get a better bang for their Buck right there's a lot of little things if you've got a full basement on your house you're gonna put on on in addition on the back and your architect draws a basement under it why don't we eliminate that piece of basement so you have one put a crawl space and lets save yourself let's talk about more we get back from break and let me tell you when we get back walk us through major remodel or major job let's talk about some of the trends that are out there and building right now okay okay way back with Bob Michael McCall construction just a second the meantime we're gonna make this next side movie inside outside guys brought.

Macomb Bob Emma Caldwell Troy five years three hundred thousand dollar three thousand feet sixty two years five decades twenty years six decades sixty years six years

"We are heading towards a presidential election where all the rhetoric is GonNa Again Richard Something bigger than sport you know right. I agree my <hes> what I'm heading down. Is I feel like there's the company's going to run into this again and again and again. What do you think is going to happen and my sense is that were just feel like we're going to be replaying this the scene a couple of times in the in the next a year if not more <hes> I'm not so sure how often it's going to happen to be honest with you because I think that based on the way that Jamal was treated <hes> that you have folks who are more conscious now of being very careful about what they say and again Lebatardshow different? He has the cloud to to say what he wants. I mean he has <hes> he's extremely popular. I don't know the ratings but I'm sure his shows and his radio sharks are are highly rated <hes> so he has the ability to say. You know what if E._S._P._N.. Wants to get rid of me. There's somebody else is GonNa take me in a heartbeat. <hes> not everyone at E._S._P._N.. Can say that and so. I don't think that they're going to say <hes> things that they really want to say or express what they really feel so I think I think in some ways <hes> the treatment of Djamil has had a ripple effect there where where it has silenced some people in terms of <hes> truly thing what they feel or thing saying <hes> expressing it in a way that <hes> they would normally express it so i. I don't know how often E._S._p._N.. Is going to run into this to be honest with you because there are only so many people there we're who can feel comfortable comfortable enough in their situation to say you know what whatever happens happens you. You know what maybe I'm misread in that you may be right and the one thing about laboratory obviously is <hes> has a lot of <hes> has a lot of powerful people in that company <hes> Eric Ride home chief among them who sort of have is back and you're right you know he's a revenue generator and a big name and that that always gives you power you know if you're at sports illustrated during our era Peter King can say things Richard Daij cannot so in that sense Jim Trotter. No I feel like Jim Trotter could say anything he wants. That's just my own personal. That's my trust Richard. Jim Trotter Richard. I turned down the line. Peter Peter King is is in front of the line. <hes> listen Jim. I appreciate you give me some time today. I got a great deal respect for your perspective as you know and <hes> I'll certainly continue to be reading you in N._F._l.. Media and I hope you can come back sometime later in the year or <hes> you know when even if it's on E._S._p._N.. Sort of these issues continue to to bubble up because <hes> the intersection of sports race and politics is what we live with every day and it's not going anywhere and and I appreciate your sort of wise words on this podcast. Thanks very much for joining me today. I appreciate you have me Richard always a pleasure back in the studio my thanks to Jim Trotter of course in Jim Miller for both of them coming on today and what I hope was really <hes> <hes> at least compelling pelling interesting conversation prior to this podcast we had how boxing gets covered in twenty nineteen with Mike Carpenter and lands pug Meyer so if you follow boxing and you're interested in how that sport gets covered today check that one out before that Conrad Thompson the the wrestling podcast podfather the.

"So I called the expert on the man right here. Mike carpenter. What's going on brother, boxing, extraordinaire, maybe heard of them? What's going on brother beer? How's it going? I'm good, man. I'm good. I I gotta be honest. When I first heard Manny, pack you out Adrian Brodie were fighting. I even told my Showtime guys went not that crazy about the match up now as he gets closer. I've been watching the all access I've been keeping up with this. I'm I got be honest. I'm pretty excited. There's a lot more than just two guys fighting Saturday night. I'm always excited with Manny pack. Yes, fighting he's forty years old now. So I'm trying to treasure him while he's still here on the greatest fighters of all time Adrian Brunner's, the kind of guy that can really I think bringing aggression. Manny Pacquiao, I think he really wants to knock Brunner out. And he looks really aggressive in training camp. It's kind of a crossroads for both guys. Many Packers forty how many more does he have? And then Adrian Brodie he's been this guy. Who's had all the talent in the world. He wins some to get to the big fight. They lose the big fight wins through road loses. A big fight. He's never got over that hump. And now especially in box, you know, this better than anybody. I mean, the chances of getting a key megastar fight with Manny pactel's far and few in between. And so here, we are even though he lost Garcia. I know a lot of fighters are mad about it. They feel they should be getting them any I'll fight. This is a big money fight and a pay per view showdown. How many guys haven't even fall on pay per view yet Asian burners like any because of his accomplishments, but really because of his name and his brash attitude he connects with people because he's on TMZ all the time whether it's legal troubles or antics, whether was like the meaning somebody on the tunnels. So that's why he's getting a lot of people are like I really beat this guy. But here's the talent though to be there. Right. Because I know especially in all get your prediction. But also, the odds makers Vegas all side with Manny Pacquiao. I don't think this fight is easy as just going. Oh, many pack does the better fighter. You know? Even though he's forty he's aggressor. He's going to outclass Adrian Brodie. I don't see it that way. I think Adrian Brodie if his mind is right in he realizes the biggest fight of his life. He loses this one. It's it's game over and I think there's more pressure on agent broder to perform into show up. I think we're going to get a good fight thing. I think it's going to be a good fight to agree with. You there Brendan the problem with Brunner is he's giving him so many chances like how many times can I fall for this same narrative? I know I've fallen for it. I watch all access, and I was I guess I was surprised because you watch many pack out. We know he's this good guy. We know we know he gives money to the homeless into the less fortunate, and he has this great family around him. And he's with Freddie Roach. And we know that story he's I think he's been on more than. Amy buddy, ever besides maybe Floyd. But he we know his story, and he's already a legend. But with Adrian Brunner, I think there's something about this underdog story where he comes from nothing. He's never got over the hump. He's had Floyd Mayweather was his older brother tried showing the ropes. Now, they hate each other. I find myself rooting for him. I don't know what it is. Maybe four times the charm. He's had three big fights. And he didn't compete in any of those. He wasn't really competitive. I will say this about Brunner. He shows a lot of balls when he's hurt, but he doesn't show those same balls when he's not hurt who's apprehensive about being hit. And he doesn't open up or take chances. We saw him fight song Puerto loss pretty much the first eleven rounds. And he was like, oh, I really gotta take a chance now. Bam drops porter in the final round Sadam downs. I haven't down the powers day is very active on leashes. And if you're a Manny pack you off in you gotta hope of forty year old man, he pack..

"Radio one thousand. Four one thousand star one thousand what are we about thirty minutes away from my saints and the Cowboys playing some Thursday night football. The saints are gonna kick their Botts. Fans of both teams. But yeah, the saints got going on this year. Yeah. You predictions are high scary good and of the three dominant offenses. You're the only one that was a good defense. Well, we got the old man. Drew brees. Yeah. What does he thirty five thirty nine? Oh, man. You're out there. And I'm gonna throw it to you. Somebody change my bag at thirty nine years of age. Now, it's it's it's yeah, they got a good team. And they may go all the way again this year. They better before drew Brees gets hurt. Because he's the old man. So that's gotta be over on our sister station. AM thirteen forty the game. I think that game. Yeah. Blake certainly game on the game. I believe so too. If you are going to Dallas, very soon, you might be able to hop aboard. A bullet train and go down to Houston. The Japanese inspired downtown Dallas to northwest Houston. High-speed rail would be the first of its kind in the US. And now it's looking more like it will be Maggiore Yosano chief general manager of central Japan. Railway company has told reporters that plans are going forward to complete a bullet style train Dallas to Houston. Texas train is being developed by central Japan, Railway company and its partners, Texas central the next step final approval from the federal railroad administration. The privately funded bullet train known as Shinkansen in Japan can take passengers from point A to point B in ninety minutes. That'd be cool Dallas to Houston and ninety one and ninety minutes. Basically paralleling I forty five. That's what it's gotta do. If you ask me now. I've only been waiting for this for twenty five years bullet trains became a thing for Japan and Clinton said when you bring president I want bullet trains never happened. That's my Gannon the love cannon chiming in by the way. I believe I prefer to instead of taking the slow poke trained to San Antonio or US to eighty one thirty five. Yeah. Bullet train having a bullet train going from Oklahoma down. Oklahoma dallas. That's exactly what I would like that'd be a one hour crip. Yes. If it would stop at a decent place where I could, you know, a central location. But if it stops in Fort Worth Fort Worth Dallas. Anyway, normally the ride from Dallas to Houston is three and a half to four hours on a good day on a good day when there's no traffic in the middle of the night. Yeah. And anyone who drives that knows light? Traffic times are rare often drive stretches out well to over four hours, but the only downside to new bullet train no trip to Bucky. Time is money and beaver nuggets. Definitely are not. So we'll keep you posted. And if it does, well, maybe they will extend the lineup here to Oklahoma Oklahoma City to Dallas, I think it would be an excellent idea on a bullet train, especially as much business that goes on between the two eight four thousand star one thousand on NewsRadio one thousand K T L K stories like this Beth Myers. "One thousand what are we about thirty minutes away from my saints and the Cowboys playing some Thursday night football. The saints are gonna kick their bots. Fans of both teams. But the saints going on this year. Yeah. You predictions are high scary good and of the three dominant offense is you're the only one that was a good defense. Well, we got the old man. Drew brees. Yeah. What does he thirty five thirty nine? Old man. You're going out there. And I'm gonna throw it to you. Somebody changed my bag at thirty nine years of age now. That's it's it's yeah. They got a good team. And they may go all the way again this year. They better before drew Brees gets hurt. Because he's the old man. So that's got be over on our sister station. And now it's looking more like it will be much. Sure Yosano chief general manager of central Japan. Railway company has told reporters that plans are going forward to complete. A bullet style train Dallas to Houston. Texas train is being developed by central Japan, Railway company and its partner, Texas central the next step final approval from the federal railroad administration. The privately funded bullet train known as Shinkansen in Japan can take passengers from point a to point b in ninety minutes. That'd be cool. Dallas to Houston ninety one and ninety minutes, basically paralleling I forty five. That's what it's gotta do. If you ask me now. We've been waiting for this for twenty five years. The bullet trains became a thing for Japan Clinton said what are you bring president? I want bullet trains United States, and it never happened. That's my again, the love cannon chiming in by the way, I prefer instead of taking the slow poke trained to San Antonio or US twenty one of thirty five. Yeah. I loved her bowl train. Having a bulletin going from Oklahoma, Dallas, Dallas. That's exactly what I would like that'd be a one hour trip. Traffic times are rare often drive stretches out well to over four hours, but the only downside the new to new bullet train, no trip to Bucky. Time is money and Bieber nuggets. Definitely are not. So we'll keep you posted. And if it does, well, maybe they will extend the lineup here to Oklahoma Oklahoma City to Dallas, I think it would be an excellent idea on a bullet train, especially as much a business that goes on between the two eight four hundred thousand star one thousand on NewsRadio one thousand K T L K stories like this Beth Myers. Don't normally have a happy end. No, not at all the FBI tracks a kidnapped girl from North Carolina to Oklahoma. I'm Beth Myers. The end the NewsRadio one thousand Katie. Okay. "But you know, it's here he stand who used to be the offensive line guy for Notre Dame. He's the one putting everything together on the for the bears of the line now so far be it for me to say, otherwise, it's working for them. Anyway, that was long winded. But all that is to say that for the bears offense. I think chase down can run it. I think you lose something in in terms of his legs. But he's he's been in the Matt Nagy offense for a while there. So you have to assume understands it. I mean to a point where I mean confident putting them in there. In Detroit on thanksgiving and hoping for the best. I mean, the the eraser and all this. The great equalizer though is that defensive there's absolutely humming right now. I mean, we talked about this when we had the Mike carpenter from a. ESPN was at UCF think because. Champagne or banner whenever they have for university of Illinois, but we had him on. And we talked about, you know, Cleal MAC became Hicks. Eddie, golden and the one guy who wasn't really putting it together. And it turns out to get a broken hand the at all this other stuff wrong with him was Leonard Floyd. I think he had an MC L sprain last year. That ended his season. They just decided keep him out at that point. If that guy gets healthy and starts contributed a high level bed. Defense is going to be such a problem for everyone. They play because I mean, who's gonna who goes into a game in things like, okay, we gotta take Leonard Floyd at this point. You're not worried about him. You're worried about I mean, if you watch that game on Sunday night like they tried to block Akeem Hicks one on one at times. And it just it just ended in tears. He took the center in through the ground like a lawn dart at one point inclu MAC. I mean just continues to you know, you just compile sacks drips acts in the guy affects the quarterback all the time. Their linebacker core is getting better and better because they got roquan Smith. It looks like he's already getting to a point where he's going to run the show sooner than later. He plays Danny trevathan. And then there's their safeties are Eddie Jackson eater. Name is in their studs to the one issue. I think they have in terms of weakness would probably be on the defensive perimeter because I mean. Floor is fine in principle. Muka Mara is capable of playing well to he's had a good season after I think a lot of people thought after he spent what was that that year in Jacksonville, or whatever that that was pretty much at forum. But the beauty of Vic Fangio's defense is that he tends to get a lot out of corners who previously were thought as, you know, just guys Carlos Rogers comes to mind, I think Carlos Carlos Rogers, go to approachable yelling for Vic Fangio, I think he did. And then. So you look at what they have on the perimeter. I'm not terribly impressed with it. They're slack corners. Bryce, Kellyanne though in that guy appears to be that of a stud I and they blitz him a lot. So I think that's that's pretty cool. What they have. I mean in terms of what they're trying to do getting aggressive on defense and whatnot. I talk about the bears defense all day because I've seen enough of it where it's fun to watch in this era of super offense of football. I think it's cool when a defense can come in and still affect. Affect the outcome outside of what their offense is doing. So I think that's pretty cool. We can you ever prediction from our? I do think I think the bears put the north in the strength. I think the bears probably end up taking that one to the other thinks giving games interesting too. Because at Dallas Washington game, you know, that could turn into a tie for first place in AFC NFC east there, especially with Al Smith being dead. Good old Colt on the back end. Yeah. Those and my buddy that's a Washington fan said that if Colt gets hurt he hopes just like shut it down for the season because he wants nothing to do with Mark Sanchez. March Sanjay fumble acquired this. Yeah. They picked him up this week. At one point. Because I think that Washington started out, and I think they were five and two..

"You know what I'm saying? Because I could've lost my life. I got shot my foot my leg and my side. I've ran from Emerson in Monroe alway to Montreal and Lafayette before I realized I got shot. I got to the gas station and I collapsed. That's only we had new house. Now, the guy that did hit me, he got locked up, but I went to court and say that he didn't do it. You know what I'm saying? He came home and blue somebody else's brains, but that's not my fault because at the time. Time I couldn't. I couldn't say anything. I wasn't going to tell I'm not going to tell, but I bring him home. You know what I'm saying? And then a few years after that, he got his brains throughout right there in front of the press. So after you got shot by this guy, the court time came around and you, you had an instinctual decision of like, no snitching, no, snitching knows. Listen. I'm a live by an Daban that I do know telling, you know what I'm saying? And I knew who did it, but I'm like, I couldn't do it because out of put myself in danger, my family in danger and that that just wasn't happening. You know what I'm saying? Now I have a different mind frame. I'm not in that lifestyle anymore. So I'm away from that. You know, got a job and the swam at now, and I'm here and I'm staying right now. We're at the area where we generally place the casket. I, we have the kneeling bench which gives people an opportunity just to Neo close to the casket, to pay respects privately. And as you see behind there is what is called the beer. And that's what we place the casket onto and are able to move the casket on. On this device here. My name is Mike carpenter. I'm the manager of the Burgi, hence sites, funeral home. We're actually the fifth generation of the funeral home. My wife is the granddaughter of the Burgis. We actually met at a Jimmy Buffett concert in nineteen eighty six. It was through a mutual group of friends, so they knew that her family was into the funeral business. I hadn't even attended a funeral up to that point, knew nothing about it. So friend of mine when we were chasing, I started dating or that night actually said they, they have a fee and her Hong, and I looked at him like, that's probably the weirdest thing I've ever heard. Tell me what you were doing for a career before you met Tracy. That was in the computer field, so is nowhere near related to what we're doing now at that time, she was teamed up with her grandfather and he was limited in what he could do. So when an emergency came out and someone passed away at home and she needed help. I was like, I guess, I'm guess I'm helping. I remember the first time I was involved with helping yet a deceased ready and it was actually a gentleman that drown in ocean city and the surfer kind of banged him up a little bit. And the thought was, well, if I can handle that, I think I'm good to go. So I mean, that was a couple days after I started working here. So it was like, all right here we go down this. When I came to help out at the funeral home, I honestly got so much positive feedback from the family that that's what encouraged me to to go into it fulltime and to switch from one career to the other. Just like the idea of focusing on one specific area which would be helping the families get through something by the time they're here. The bad stuff's already happened. So if you can transition them from somewhat of a bad experience into leaving here three or four days later, feeling comforted and they tell you because they appreciate it, especially people on hamden. They're, they're the most appreciative group when you treat them. Well. When we know minutes. My name is Hector Vasquez a Lebanon Schumer's who knew cetacea thing south to Broadway book movement.
