NFL owners approve 17-game regular season, 3 preseason games
"A 17 game to the NFL schedule is Official. The 40 Niners will play at the Bangles. The FC will get the extra home game this year. And next year, the NSC and etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Not that it was unforeseen. But what do you think, anyway? We kind of knew it was the owners vote. I assume it was 32. Nothing unless Mike Brown abstained. I don't know how that guy ever had any Children. Maybe it was 31 old and one. I don't know. But he held Davis as well. That's why I only had one child. He abstained all the league votes. So we knew it was going to be the Bangles. So the 40 Niners this year will play the NFC North. So the Packers and Vikings air coming to Levi's in the 40 Niners are going to Chicago and Detroit. Eagles because of the common record will be the other. NFC team as well. That will be on the away schedule and they're planning a F C South, which means a trip to actually land is coming to us. Indianapolis's coming To us. And then on what else is happening there? Uh, Houston is coming to us as well. Um and then on the road, it's Tennessee and Jacksonville. And the 17th game is gonna be pretty kidney. Obviously, the three within your own division home in a way, like every year. We knew it was gonna be the Bangles and the way it works this year, they're just lining up. Conferences. So the A F C East is playing the NFC East E A. F. C North is playing the NFC West, and that's the 40 Niners and Bangles. They have C south, playing the NFC South E A. S E West is playing the NFC North. And I'm gonna go back and forth on which conference gets the extra home game, and this year it'll be the FC.
Black Lives Matter owes Mike Brown's family money
"Was so shocked to hear this and very disappointed. And i'm i'm hoping you know you would wish that people could work out their problems before bringing it out to the media but this is out there now. My brown is a father. My brown senior talking about the mike brown who was slain by police. Officer darren wilson in ferguson missouri. His father is demanding now. That black lives matters movement. Pay his family twenty million dollars. He and other activists are saying that they made money. Black lives matter. Made money off his son's death and that he and none of the families have received support. Then you would think that they straight right. You would think that the brothers and sisters who've been arrested in ferguson been killed in protests they received nothing and here's their statement at a press conference the other day we all black lives matter. Movement is countered into the limelight. Just forgotten about ferguson. And what kind of movement are we building. We're saying black lives matter. But the free fighters families are being left behind. Were our restitution orients. Where's is building a movement. This is just what people wanna hear. When it comes to black lives matter they want to invalidate. Black lives matter. We're hoping that we can hear from the founders of black lives matter so they can straighten this out. But according to mike brown's father they only received five hundred dollars from black lives matter and they're raising money in his son's name and those families have not received anything governor andrew cuomo of new york. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is leading the group, which demands a 10 Day audit of votes by an electoral commission, a separate group of House conservatives also plans to challenge the results. The Limits of Filming Police Brutality
"This summer Ethan wrote a new article in it. He looked back on the optimism he felt in two thousand sixteen his faith that cameras and social media could reform the relationship between communities and the police tasked with protecting them. But now, he says increasing awareness through video is not enough as I was wrong. It appears that it was George Floyd's. Killing. That may have led you to change your mind and. You describe watching that video. And being struck by the police officers face as he looked at himself being filmed can can you tell me what it was? You saw that struck you. He makes eye contact with someone who is filming him. And he doesn't even attempt to say put the camera away. He isn't embarrassed about what he's doing. That is the image of someone who is looking at someone filming them and felt like they were not be consequences for his actions. I wanted to read back something you wrote in your piece you said the hope that pervasive cameras by themselves would counterbalance the systemic racism that leads to the over policing of communities of color and the disproportionate use of force against black men was simply a techno utopian fantasy. I think we often look for technological shortcuts to deep societal problems. Systemic racism over policing fear of black men in particular these are giant thorny difficult problems. And I think I and many people hoped that police body cameras in particular but also mobile phone cameras would tilt the playing field. For me the most disturbing and maybe dispiriting piece of this was the fact that we're starting to see very good peer reviewed large scale studies that suggest that police weren't body cameras don't have any measurable effect on use of force on police misconduct compliance, and that seems really surprising for whatever reason. This is not shaping police behavior and I think the answer is that police officers know consciously or unconsciously that there a set of protections that are going to allow them in most cases to use extreme force and and not suffer consequences for it i. think that overrides whatever psychological effects we might have from that sense of being watched. And yet it was that video that lead to water. Now, possibly, the largest protests in American history is that not proof that the the video works. Unfortunately the less. No and I have bad news on that front my lab at Mit Center for Civic Media did a very large study of media coverage of. Police violence affecting unarmed people colored. So we looked at over three hundred instances of unarmed people of color who were killed in encounters with police between twenty thirteen in two, thousand sixteen. What we were able to show was that there was a huge wave of media attention to these stories for about twelve eighteen months after the death of Michael Brown. Before Mike, Brown. These were almost always a reported as an isolated incident after Mike Brown, we were eleven times more likely to link these stories into a larger pattern of systemic police abuse violence. So for that brief period of time for about twelve to eighteen months, we paid much better attention to these stories and we told these stories in a different way we told them as part of a larger pattern. But by the end of our study, media attention was back down to where it had been before. My prediction is that we will see some sort of six twelve, eighteen month window of attention to stories like that, George Floyd. But unless something else substantial changes, I would predict that wave attention will away in much the same way the wave of attention around Michael. Brown federal way. So in light of that, let me continue reading from where I read before. In your piece you say that Techno Utopian fantasy you spoke about was a hope that police violence could be an information problem like Uber Rides or Amazon recommendations solvable by increasing the flows of data. But after years of increasingly widespread gut body CAM use an even more pervasive social media. It's clear that information can work only when it's harnessed to power. What what do you mean here? How do you harness information to power? The hope for change coming out of George Floyd's murder is that this is a moment where communities really go after the structure police departments and the structure of our associated with them. Ferguson. Where Michael Brown was killed is one of the best examples of this that was a police department that had incredible influence within local government and was functioning almost as its own revenue generating and tax generating force. That was a police force that struck Shirley had grown out of control, and one of the things that we have to realize is that we can use things like video and imagery to call attention to this. But unless we harness it to changing those broken institutions, we're GONNA find ourselves back on again.
Race for No. 1 pick in 2020 NFL Draft: Joe Burrow to the Bengals becomes the trendy pick
"I just don't think that Joe burrow necessarily says the things that he said being a little wishy washy about committed the bangles before this and that all goes away because of the scouting combine his want to throw gasoline on the fire eight maybe he again maybe he wants to challenge we had Carson Palmer on the show radio row Superbowl week he said I was gonna get drafted number one overall people told me don't go to the bangles there losing organization I said I've got I'm good enough to change it there he said look looking back there was a youthful arrogance about me I thought I could change it I realized I learned I could not so perhaps Joe burrows in the same boat but perhaps Schober also is getting other information or other direction from his father his dad played professional football his dad played football in the CFL his dad has been a football dad it's distinctly possible is dad knowing the ins and out of an NFL career or a pro football career says you know what you don't want to go to the bangles and let's get you somewhere else which is exactly what Archie manning did so this is no slam against Bengals fans of this city of Cincinnati you know they're no worse or better this is no worse or better than many other cities in the NFL this is simply about can you trust the ownership namely Mike brown to support you to build a winner Joe burrow is the best quarterback in this draft by a long shot he's the best player because the numbers he put up last year he's also the best back because of two ways injury Joe burrow in a quarterback league is the best quarterback in this year's draft so you know he's got some leverage there and does he have faith that Mike brown who is renowned in the NFL as a cheapskate does he have the faith that Michael brown will do enough that we had to go on the show late last week and he absolutely was adamant that the idea the narrative that the Bengals don't wanna win is silly just look at the playoff berths that they made the playoffs seven times under Marvin Lewis and that if you make the playoffs that many times and you draft as well as they do which they do draft very well then you shouldn't be criticized for not trying to
Bengals at the Combine in Indianapolis, taking a closer look at Joe Burrow
"With us here from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis where we will be all week so much going on. I'm waiting next with Adam. Schefter Louis Riddick Todd mcshay and Mike Tannenbaum just to catch you up right now. Here's what's happening today in Indianapolis. It will be a very busy week. At Five o'clock eastern though owners are expected to meet players to talk about the new CBA which could expand the playoffs and move to a seventeen game regular season. We've got forty seven. Nfl head coaches and GMT. We'll be talking today. You're also hear from SEC. Standouts Joe Borough and to a ton of Aloha who also addressed the media earlier today. Jonesboro put on an absolute show as you know on route to a national championship for Lsu setting an FBI. Single season record with sixty touchdown passes and Ditto. While completing a whopping seventy six percents of his passes and not only that but bro won the heisman trophy in dominant fashion receiving a record ninety point seven percent of the first place votes here. Our previous comments from Joe Borough on February seventeenth during a reception. For the Davey. O'brien award. He had this to say I do have leveraged the Bengals have their process and I have my process. We haven't even gotten to the combine yet. There's a lot of things that happened. Leading up to the draft. A lot of information gathered bras. Mother Robin shot down the idea. Her son does not want to play for the bengals. Saying we have no idea where that came from. It's a story out there that has created that doesn't have any substance at least from our perspective here Hasbro earlier today here at the combine. Of course I want to be the first pick. That's that's every kid's dream you know I've worked really really hard for this opportunity and I'm blessed to be in this position. I'm a ball player. Whoever picks me on my go show up? How play whoever for forever dressing? You know. I'm just not going to be presumptuous. About what they WANNA DO I. It's the draft. You guys have been covered it for a long time and you never know what's going to happen so we played a month longer than everyone else and everyone else's been training a month longer than us you know. I wanted to put. I don't I didn't think I'd be able to put my best foot forward here at the combine so I wanted to wait till pro day had another whole month of training and just be the best that I could be when everyone when. Everyone's eyes are on me. You know coming in. If you're the number one pick the teen is picking number one. Is there for a reason? So you're going to have to come in. There's going to be ups and downs and you've got to stay steady through the process. Our research tells us about Joe. Borough is his own man. He's not going to be talked into saying things for other people's benefits so if that's what he said. That's that's fantastic. I'm looking forward to getting to know him getting to meet him through. The process haven't been able to sit down with them yet. But we've got that on the horizon. We'll talk more about Joe. Boroughs plans to hold off throwing here at the combine. But might I'll start with you in terms of do you want? Do you not want to play for the being. You have any issues at all with where we landed at least at this point. No I mean as I said last week Joe Borough at the end he does not have leverage. The bengals have the first pick in the draft. If they want to draft. Joe Joe Borough. That's where he's GonNa go now with that. Said I think it's incumbent upon sack Taylor in the Bengal organization to create the Right Environment. Where he could come in and they could build something sustainable and truly transformative so. I think where we wended. Wendy is appropriate last week. He could've handled that better but to Joe Boroughs credit. I think they tweak things I think they're in a good spot now. He's been well-coached past week. Tower doesn't it. Yeah and Adema to your Do All your contacts. It appears that borough likely young he's projected pick. I still think that's where the bengals ultimately go. And they're sitting there and that's about this a team that needs somebody to revitalize that franchise and they are expected to look to trade Andy Dalton at some point this off season and so when you're sitting there in division with Lamar Jackson there in Baltimore think that they know that they have to get somebody in there. That's going to put some points on the Board Baker Mayfield Cleveland and this is going to be the pick for the Cincinnati bengals. Even Joe was considering trying to exercise some kind of leverage really the only leverage you have is withhold your services and not playing not report even if he was thinking along those lines. Let's say he's doing a deep dive trying to figure out exactly. Just what the Cincinnati offer as far as developing me as a quarterback. Could you blame him? Could you really blame him for wanting to dig? Deep on exactly what? What does the future going to look like during over the course of my rookie contract with this football team would exactly? What exactly is Mike Brown's commitment to go ahead and building out this roster around me because we all know a lot of what's going to happen to him has nothing to do with him and has everything to do with everything that's going to be around him. Just look at the past three or four drafts. And how certain players have benefited from going to certain to certain teams? Just look at l a look at the difference between jar rookie year in his second year. Sean mcvay came in. It flipped his rookie year. People were saying Jared Goff to Canada. All of a sudden his second year is like. Oh wait a minute. Maybe he's not so bad you couldn't blame him. If that was a thought Lewis to that point I also think an opportunity. If you're Zach Taylor to say hey what's happened in the past. It's irrelevant we're going to myself with you and we're going to build something great and we can't worry about what's happened before we have a lot of work to do. But if I'm the bengals if I have a hey coach Taylor. That's worked with quarterbacks. Like you mentioned Jared Goff Joe Boroughs Billy and character. That's a great opportunity for the bengals. Sino three things one. Is that if something were to go on with. The bengals is not going to happen in public and this has been addressed in the past week if it's going to happen behind the scenes so whatever we hear from this point on. Don't even don't even look at it. Don't think about it because it has nothing to do with with what is going on behind the scenes. The second thing is this guy's different cab he beats. It goes a Beatles drummer. He doesn't care what anyone else has done. In the past what everyone else is GonNa do in the future? He's going to do what's best for Joe Borough but the third thing I know about him is he's a football guy he's his. His brothers played linebacker at safety at Nebraska. His Dad's a almost four decades coach in football. He's a football guy at its core. He's from Ohio. Obviously I think when it's all said and done he winds up going in Cincinnati if he's number one overall pick but again. If it's GonNa Happen it's GonNa Happen. Not In the media. It's GonNa happen behind the scenes again. Joe Bro not expected to throw on Thursday. He said he just wasn't ready yet. Not a huge deal. Sam Darnold Kyla Murray. The last two years have opted not to throw here at the combine as well. What did make headlines on Sunday? Oddly enough pros hand measurements the measurable quarterbacks took place on Sunday on the smaller side. Love listen here's what he said after it was suggested his aunt size was small considering retirement after. I was informed that we slipping out of my tiny hands. Please keep me in your thoughts while he's got good company because here's what Super Bowl fifty four. Mvp Patrick Mahomes had to say who had just slightly larger hands than did borough my small Andrew doing great so far all right he should say believe in yet. Here's borough earlier today addressing his hands. Yeah I mean these measurements you can. You can take so much from them if it's a glaring issue on film with turnovers. Yeah it's probably an issue but I didn't have a lot of fumbles or anything like that so I just tried to make a little joke out of it I think it's a non factor I don't get paid to talk about. Measurements and analyze. The measurements like played to play football. So that's what I'm GONNA do. I look we're not gonNA make too much of this question. Well yet about what? They actually do what they're actually measuring here so worry not. We've got a ruler. We've got Louis at. I mean really what you're really trying to do is just trying to measure the expense of someone and they put it down on the ground and you actually hear about guys actually doing hand exercises to stretch their hand as wide as possible although when you're grabbing a football you're actually going to measure from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the Pinky here and this is hard because this is a hard rule and you can't really get good accurate measuring you look tired type by just under nine right. Look I'll give you a non center's Oh that's attention and would have actually done something with my. I mean what's interesting when you watch the tape of Joe Borough? There are situations where people come from behind strip him when he's trying to move up in the pocket and run. I mean that's going to happen if you have nine if you have ten inches so I mean it's not a glaring obvious problem as far as him on the football field and that's why I think it's really. It's just going to be something that will hopefully wind up forgetting about certain the biggest thing is and you know this with all of these drills you know as well. Mike you go back to the tape and you're trying to find something after the fact that says okay. Now I'm going to look specifically at these things so you're gonNA look cold weather rain and then ball security and Joe Boroughs as good as any college quarterback you're ever going to see in the pocket in terms of two hands on the ball and protecting the ball. I saw him in two thousand eighteen the last weekend. In September against Ole Miss. You can go back and watch the tape. My suit was soaking wet when I did the open of that game. It was pouring rain driving rain in anyone who says it doesn't rain in Baton Rouge on a Saturday night is lying to you. Because it poured and he completed seventy two percent of his throws with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in that game. So you go back to the tape and you try to look at these things and what the tape tells you is. He's just fine. You know I had a theory here. I have an interesting experience with hand size so I was forced out in two thousand eight. We were we trade for Brett Farve and just as a fan of sport. I can't wait to go out to the first practice and watch Brett farve throw. There's nothing physically imposing about breath and he goes out there and he's throwing Abe I've ever seen and I ask them like what is the value. Where's this philosophy comes from it? He said you know what Mike I have long fingers and I actually couple of football the way a lot of people throw a softball. I could actually be over the top and that's where I get all my philosophy from just watching my practice. It was unbelievable to watch though. I know as Lewis show. There's a tradition of how we measure hands but finger. Length is actually an underrated aspect of playing quarterback so far so far small hands but long fingers and you know what my pinky and all the time strong throwing football pictures of the five. It's easily the least important finger in the hand and I can't remember it ever being a big factor. It's all there in the grip. The pinky to me doesn't matter. It's archaic. How we're measuring the quarterback's hand span now with that. Said there's thirty four quarterbacks in the last fourteen years who have been drafted that have had hands of nine inches and smaller and really only two of them had any sort of Sustained Success Ryan. Tannehill is one of them and Jared. Goff is the other. That's it so there are thirty two out of thirty four. Who have failed. But are we going to say that he's going to the Joe Boroughs? Not GonNa have success because his hands tells me that the reason for their failure wasn't because they were nine inches weight.
Does Our Solar System Contain a Primordial Black Hole?
"There's something big lurking in the frozen hinterlands of our solar system that appears to be tugging at the a tiny worlds beyond the orbit of Neptune the object is assumed to be a hypothetical world called planet nine which has extremely far-flung orbit around the Sun and causes all kinds of gravitational chaos out there in the dark but as the search for planet nine wears on and astronomers have yet to so much get a glimpse of it some researchers are pondering the object could be might not be planted at all could it be a primordial black hole the solar system is a big place and while astronomical techniques are rapidly advancing many tiny bodies in the outer solar system have yet to be found planet nine thought to be a rather more substantial object however with massive around five to ten earth masses scooting around the sun at an average distance of four hundred to eight hundred astronomical units or a US since one a you is that average distance at which earth orbits the Sun that's ten to twenty times the orbital distance at which Pluto orbits the Sun So if exists planet nine takes between ten thousand in twenty thousand years to complete just one orbit the possibility of a large world orbiting the Senate such a huge distance is captivating studies of other stars system's reveal that exoplanets between the masses of Earthen Neptune are relatively common why our solar system doesn't contain a world with this mass range is a puzzle but a planet nine really is out there it would be profound historic discovery that would reshape our understanding of the system of planets that orbit our sun suffice to say any planet with an orbit this extreme would be very difficult to spot but astronomers are scouring infrared surveys with hopes of seeing distant object slowly crawl across the sky if it's out there planet nine should be emitting infrared radiation energy leaking from the planet since its formation but so far apart from the gravitational effect of something in the outer solar system there's precious little direct evidence for Planet Nines Existence Enter the Black Hole hypothesis in September nineteen astronomers Jacob Schultz Durham University and James Unwin of the University of Illinois at Chicago published a new study describing their alternative hypothesis the gravity personal weirdness in the outermost reaches of the solar system isn't being caused by planet at all instead they pointed to the potential presence of a primordial black hole a theory it's caused a bit of a stir no this kind of black hole does not pose danger to the rest of the solar system it'd be too small for that but in the distant regions solar system it's impact would be significant the only evidence we have for Planet Nines Existence are the gravitational effects it's having on Trans Neptune objects and Black goals are the most gravitationally endowed objects in the universe after all primordial black holes are the most ancient kind of black hole there hypothesized to a formed right after the Big Bang density fluctuations in the early universe what have rapidly formed black holes of all masses these ancient objects would have been flung throughout the cosmos and over time they would have slowly evaporated via hawking radiation smaller ones popping out of existence I but let's back up a step why does scientists think that some extreme object is out there in two thousand sixteen planet Hunters Constantine but Teagan and Mike Brown of Caltech announced their discovery of a group a very distant Trans Neptune objects the were all strangely clustered moving was similar orbital alignments their orbital alignment was also weirdly tilted so it appeared they were all being corralled by gravitational interactions with a larger planetary body but no other large planetary body exists in that region so Teigen and Brown hypothesized an as yet to be discovered planet was out there and so the hunt began while many theories of cosmic evolution suggest that primordial black holes should exist we have yet to directly observe one though there is some compelling indirect evidence take for example microloans what's the transient brightening of stars caused by massive object passing in front of them causing a brief brightening by the curvature of space time creating sort of magnifying lens analysis of these micro lens events suggests that there's a population of small black holes out there with no other visible clues except for their gravitational impact on space time mm-hmm Shilton unwin took a fresh look at the Trans Neptune object peculiarities and simulated. What would happen if a black hole with a mass of between five and ten earth masses had an extreme orbit around the sun sure enough their models suggest that primordial black hole with a mass within this range would cause orbital turbulences like the ones already observed in the population of Trans Neptune objects this could also explain why little optical or infrared observational evidence for planet nine exists a primordial black Cole would generate neither signal in fact if a black hole is nearby and may also be dragging around a cloud of dark matter that could be generating different types of radiation searchers therefore suggest based on their findings the experimental program needs to be expended including searches for high energy cosmic rays like x rays and gamma rays coming from moving sources while this is an interesting avenue of steady replacing hypothetical planet with a hypothetical type of black hole may be overcomplicating the mystery the planet nine we spoke with Mike Brown he said could blackhall explain the gravitational effects we are seeing in the outer solar system absolutely all we know is there is a six earth mass something out there and we don't know what the something is Brown points out that planet would be the most obvious something but as long as it has a mass of a few earth's could be anything but the plausibility of it being anything other than a planet is extremely low to say the least with tongue in Cheek Brown added it might be a six earth mass hamburger or a Burrito but yes it might also be a six earth mass black hole the physics of course don't care one bit what the six earth mass are made of you could equally well hypothesize that every exit planet that we only detected by the radial velocity method is a black hole is it possible yes does it make any sense in the unit I know while investigating other gravitational sources of what may be messing with Trans Neptune objects is good science. It's more likely the planet when is a planet and not a primordial black hole astronomers just have to keep searching and there's a growing consensus that will be discovered in the not so distant future

Lakers reportedly to interview former Grizzlies coach J.B. Bickerstaff as coaching search continues
"B Bickerstaff is going to interview for the Lakers. Head coaching position at Bernie, son. It is son. Yes, he spent two seasons as the grizzlies head coach and went forty eight and ninety seven he was also the interim head coach in Houston after Kevin McHale was fired right before the rockets hired Mike, Dan, Tony. He's scheduled to meet with Jeanie Buss. Rob Pelinka Joey bus, Jesse bus, Tim, Harris. And of course, Linda and Kurt Rambis. And yes, his father is Bernie Bickerstaff interim coach five games before. Mike Brown after Mike Brown was fired. But he looks like his dad, of course, you would he's well worked. These are the Lakers coaching candidates, and this is their last two seasons as head coaches JV Bickerstaff was fifteen and forty eight and thirty three and forty nine before he was fired Frank Vogel was twenty nine and fifty three and twenty five and fifty seven for he was fired Jason Kidd, forty two in forty twenty three twenty two five. Admits season final Holland's ten and twenty seven in his last season was fired mid season. And Mike Woodson was thirty seven and forty five before he was fired. That is you'll want to coaching pool. I I don't know enough about J V Bickerstaff to have an opinion. But he's interesting. I always liked his dad. Interesting list. My feeling is that they have completely blue completely blown this coaching. Search not been good. They they should have got money Williams. If that was the guy that they wanted they should've paid whatever and giving him whatever it is. He wanted to get him. Because what I feel like is. If you have someone in mind, that's your number one guy the moment that it goes out to the public. That is your number one guy. He is now your guy otherwise you look like a second option, and you're the Lakers. You can't be the second option. And then when you go to your number two guy, and he turns you down your now on your third option. And everyone knows this is your third option. Well, that's why you know, it's amazing to me. How stuff gets out like?

"You think in that conference station that encounter that went on and on? Did you have walked away? He's he said, yes, he thinks. Now, he should have walked away. Do you think you should have walked away? That's what I was trying to do trying to walk away. There is a spot either place where I could. Because we were surrounded. We can go right? We couldn't go laugh back, you know. And then. That I was killing prayer still singing. I was looking past the crowd, and I took that first debt net. Crowd backed up cook a second step crowds. Start scattering are breaking apart. They're not took a third partner action seen a clear space as a dash the space, and we started going that way and from somewhere from a clear space a person was there. You feel you were blocked. I was blocked. That's a lie. We know that's a lie because we have video of the whole encounter. He walked up to a bunch of kids got right at one of their faces foul mom with the Maga hat on. And banged the drum as loud as he could. That's what happened and everything else that all these other descriptions of all the other versions of events guys, lying, but it shouldn't surprise anyone. Because this this individual is, in fact, a a liar. Nathan Phillips is somebody who I think people should understand is not to be trusted on this account. I'm sure on on many other accounts as well. I mean, he's clearly. A weird guy. Right. So I would I would start with that. And it doesn't mean that he's untruthful. But when you add into it all the things that he said that are false that are fake you have to stop and say to yourself. Well, hold on just a second. What exactly are we why do we give him that this benefit out? All that's right because of his he's a native American military service. That was the only store they wanted to tell kinda reminds you remember what the Trayvon thing when there was such an effort and you saw with with Mike Brown. Do you have a minority and in the whole Ferguson situation, you have a minority in Ferguson, a minority in what was it producer Mike was that in Miami? Where was the trip? I know it was Florida where wasn't in Florida. I forget now. Anyway, I think it was in the Miami area. But it could be could be in another. So it was in Florida. That's all it really matters. But there is this very clear media decision to. Trayvon Martin as a twelve year old. And in fact, people forget this. It was an NBC reporter or producer who changed the audio of that guy's Imerman. So that it sounded like he said something he didn't say just because she thought, you know, for the 'cause you know, why not let's just stack the deck on this guy. And you had Mike Brown. This photo that would show up him. All the time was him in his high school graduation photo clearly designed Miami gardens, Florida. I was right about Trayvon. Okay. Clearly designed in the case of Mike Brown in Ferguson to give the impression that he some kind of scholar and the guy just just strong arm robbed a store moments before. And then he tried you arm, rob a copy of his gun, and it didn't work out. Well for them. This. It reminds me of how the media talks about the the communist story who look at the Trayvon case you look at the Mike Brown case. And there are people who will still say that there's some kind of heroes. I saw a black lives matter March in New York City. Where there was a bit. There was a car. You know, I think it was a pickup truck driving down sixth avenue, and there was a big placard of Mike Brown. And, you know, remember Mike Brown like Mike Brown, some kind of hero, Mike Brown. According to I witness testimony that were included African Americans live, by the way in Saint Louis, and we're there for this whole situation. Mike Brown attacked the Cup. You know, probably didn't like the cop. You told them to get out of the middle of the road and asked him if you just been at a store or whatever and. Things got things got physical. And he tried to charge a police officer. Will you try to charge a cop, and you're six foot three and two hundred sixty pounds or whatever he was guess what he can end very badly. But they will stick to the narrative, even when it's false because it has emotional impact. You see it emotionally touches people. Even though it's not true. It becomes a fiction. That is useful. The media will do this. They will tell stories to you that are useful fiction. And that's why with this guy Nathan Phillips, you know, he's a native American. He was just there peacefully. Praying wasn't doing, you know, also he was demonstrating for who. What is he standing outside Lincoln Memorial standing there, and he's part of the indigenous peoples March, what is what was really his purpose is what I want on. This guy's an activist. I'm just curious. These are the questions, I think are real journalists would ask somebody. But instead they present this narrative of a guy who they say, you know, his his military service. You know, and a native American background or all you need to know about them. And then even his military service becomes a point of some contention play five. Clear you served in the marines at the time that was going on. But she did not serve overseas. What I've always said is odd. Never step foot in Southie at Phnom. And that's. I don't know how clear how much care can that be? We're not come home. Those times got spit on did on colder BBQ from Vietnam times. Honorable discharge. Got.

"And I don't know my friends children his daughter, his son in law have a lot of say-so. Now. I I don't know, but they have made some great changes here. And I don't think they're anywhere near that condition. Right now. I think they will be good. I think go gee staff. I would think at worst would be eight. I mean, I don't know. But look after watching Marvin Lewis for sixteen years, and after GOP ING this attitude that this team Everett care they are. Run like some Gerard Crecy. They never make changes. And yeah, they sold the stadium out for quite a while thing. Mike Brown's the envy of the NFL because he had a mediocre team that never one time or everyone of the playoffs yet. He could. No, no, he could says so without stadium. Well, back together James of these last two years. The fans were like okay hit bring marva back. You're not bringing us back out. It was a lot of people. And I think that had a lot to do with the changes made. So. So yeah, I'm gonna go game this year. I have the gave it six years when they lost the charges. I said hang on up this playoff game. I don't my son that and so I'm going to next year. So man, I feel great. I feel Feel young. young which when you go to and if we can swing it out there. We'd love to meet you in person, man. Addressing got some good times coming definitely okay? Well, got up to stop. I don't know if you got other callers, but I'm just tickled to damp and go into what John was saying about Janna hero. I mean don't did here. What eight years nine years, I like Dalton. But I wouldn't I would argue John about Janna hill right now if they did drink all still bid now I would like to see as I was chatting early. I'd like to see get one season under a new coaching staff result. Louis, and I would like to see just one season of this dancy. What he does if we wanna Super Bowl fantastic. If we don't then whatever. Or if I decide not to do it at all, and trade, and whatever I mean, the Bengals are making changes. And I'm not going to argue with any changes, they make this point. I'm just happy. Something different is happening. It's about if you deal Dalton it's using the resources that you'd get from dealing him and using them wisely to better the team. That's you know, whether that's freed of money from from another quarterback or moving up to get a potential franchise changing guy. John, we're we're gonna close up shop pre sheet you calling in good hearing from you. Thanks for calling in our time here flied tied up. Awesome. All right. Well, let's get to a couple of quick text messages here. John, I you know, you've already had a couple of people come your way. About the the Dalton saying, let's see what was the from from dean saying I just wanna say him with John. And it's time to turn the page on Dalton he has value. Now, don't miss out like they did with Chad Johnson when they could when they could have gotten for two first round picks. If you remember that John that was supposedly there was an offer any now, I remember that. Because when there was a disgruntled I think it was maybe after eight or something in in. It was the Redskins that were supposedly offering a one in three that could become another one that was kind of a production based pick there, and you know, so he's he's in agreement with you there. Many also adds this franchise is one five playoff games and fifty one years it's time to roll the dice. And I I really finally have hoped that that's happening. So fi- that's just crazy to think about five eight has. One. He doesn't have any of them. The let's see the other is from this is an actual question. We talked at we hinted a little bit at the eagles. This is a different route with it. But it's Frank from Virginia, by way of Mason..

"I guess he's still an assistant and very very very recent former Browns head coach Hugh Jackson Lewis on his way out city thinks Jackson deserves another chance insensitivity or elsewhere. Franken you see this happening or is this just more bingles insanity. Michael, I'm all about giving guys a second chance. And the case if you would be a third chance, I have no problem with that. Here's what's going to be tough getting around three thirty six and one three thirty six and one that was his record and Cleveland. And then when he left when he got fired they were five and three. So as an owner trying to sell something to your fans, and I understand it wasn't the great. The situation in Cleveland for you Jackson up until this season. How you going to sell that to your family's more of an Lewis didn't wanna playoff game, but he leaves with a winning record. How are you going to sell that to your fans three thirty six and one I don't know that Mike Brown's primary IMO was ever selling anything to his fans. I mean, the Bengals is you know, I hate to use the word mom and pop, but that's what the owners and other NFL executives with would. They would describe it. I'm for Hugh Jackson having other chance he was with the raiders and the Bengals speaking and the Browns speaking of dysfunction. Yeah. So I'm fine for Hugh Jackson have another chance. I'm not sure why he would want one with a third situation that seems completely inadequate most of the time. But I I don't I don't doubt that the Bengals will go this way. If you look at Mike Brown's history recent over the last twenty five years, by the way, Marvin Lewis even got tired of it. I don't believe second. Mike Brown fired Marvin Lewis now. I believe the Marvin said, listen, I gave him my best here didn't work to do something else. And I think the way that Marvin Lewis left helped you Jackson because he wasn't hitting leave kicking and screaming, then he's noting his guy for the job, by the way. When you Jackson was the coordinator in Cleveland. I'm sorry in Cincinnati. They'd good Rex. They went twelve and four. They did have good records. This will get this isn't about Hugh Jackson and his ability to coach you're seeing it's about the ability to sell it. And I'm saying why would you wanna go there and be in the third dysfunctional situation been as a head coach? And I know it's tough for African American coaches, given what we just saw to be really picky about head coaching jobs..

"You know that the team was playing well form at the end of the year that sort of thing in that's that meant a lot to him in that decision process. Now, we sit here we go. Well, theoretically the browser still alive for the playoffs. I think the Steelers are still alive for the playoffs in the division. Crown? So I mean does that excuse play in there? And I mean. I go back. Also, John to is this something where we know about Mike Brown. He's he's not. I don't know if you wanna call him like non-confrontational, or whatever you wanna you wanna label him as a lot of labels. But. With Marvin you almost wonder if he wants to take the white glove treatment with him and say, you know, we've got this one year either you stay or the opt out that mutual mutual parting. You know what I mean? So I I don't know. Those are kinda some thoughts rattling in my head. If you want expand on those or your thoughts on if he comes back. I mean, like you kind of mentioned a little bit is it probably going to be more of the same in twenty nineteen if marvins back or the injuries and all that is that play into a potential more successful season. So we want Marvin to essentially retire because on think he's ever going to get fired. If he does lead it'll be part of his decision making his well, we will more than to retire because we believe that that's like the one tangible obtainable step in progress that we as fans can hope for because the the underlying from the main problem with the Bengals. Not as the head coach. It's more the owner in how he runs things obviously all those things have expanded upon death. And when people talk about, you know, the the Bengals wouldn't be anywhere near where the are without Marvin Lewis, perhaps that's true. But then we get upset when people say, you know, how are they gonna do better than them for? They were. I don't think a lot of it's realized that if more Lewis has gone in. Let's just say for hypothetical reasons a huge accents the replacement. I truly wonder who is going to win over Mike Brown's heart in that scenario because Mark Marvin Lewis is underrated ability is to, you know, somehow swindle power away from my Brown with whatever, you know, charm, or charisma or persona that he puts on for him. And I don't know of a single coach out there that can possibly do the same thing with a man, you know, that operates in has the personality of Mike Brown. So it honestly is curious to me, you know, win in if Marvin Lewis, you know, moves. On who is going to be the guy that can possibly convince Mike Brown to do things differently. In also be guy that Mike would even trust in would even accept into his inner circle because he's such a family, man. And I think that's the reason why a lot of people think it's going to be Hugh because he's kinda runs things similar Morgan has similar personality traits are good friends. And so Mike would would trust, you know, Marvin betting him, whatever. But I don't know. I think as an aspect that not a lot of people think about when they when people talk about Marvin being the best thing for them. Because Marvin might be the best kind of might be the best coach with that kind of personality that can deviate the power away from Mike in that sense. Okay. So I agree with you. You know to be honest. I think it was. Win was I think it was actually the the twenty eleven off season when he came back. I was like after twenty ten I was like, no, no, no, no, no. When they resigned him. I changed my tune a little bit and saying this is the only guy it seems that is grabbing Mike Brown's here. So that's why I was like, okay. I'm in I'm in for another term with Lewis. And now it's turned into this after I mean, obviously twenty seven through twenty fifteen that was enjoyable, but since you know, still can't win the big games players. Don't show up in the big games. We know the nervous we know the narrative so. I've got just a couple more questions..

Not that importance. I just I I retweeted one of the tweets put at us. If you want to go to Handelman Nigel check that out. He's literally took a picture of you know, he was snapping pictures. I had no idea. I get. I mean, I'm flattered, but I'm also a little worried for this guy because you know, we put the shirt on funny. And we thought the actual secret service would never actually let us in. And he's obsessed like that the secret service moved me and threw me out and get a life. Speaking of the president. He's in town again tonight role in Fort, Wayne, he is up in Fort Wayne tonight, Mike Brown. And apparently Indiana's a pretty important state. Rob embarrassing would that be for the president and the vice president to not win their own home state? I mean, it's not a home state for Trump. Is for pets? And but also state that Trump one big two years ago. I mean, he's got a feel like that. He doesn't get Missouri. Indiana, North Dakota. "Right now. Why because what Bret Baier was talking about? Is exactly what we're getting into did Joe. Donnelly just have a Murdoch moments the articles up at WABC dot com. This is from the debate last night, Indiana Senator bait. This. I want to say for the record that I'll believe for a second that Joe Donnelly meant it this way. But holy crap. This is the way he said, it was a question about diversity. That was the question. That was a question about diversity. I found it a peculiar question. But I sat and listened as the candidates answered the question you, add the democrat the incumbent Joe. Donnelly Republican challenger. You had a Mike Brown. And then the libertarian. You had Lucy Brenton. Now, let me give you Lucy Brenton's. Answer. It's a really interesting question to ask the libertarian because I don't see color. I don't see. The differences in people that are shallow. Quote, Martin Luther King because he said, he's more interested in the content of your character. People of color don't want to be given some sort of bone because of the color of their skin. They want to earn the right to be there. Just like anyone would now that was her answer. This is Mike bronze answer. I think Lucy hit it on the head there in the sense it equal opportunity. Make sure there's never any discrimination, and you know, you based upon merit and it should be colorblind. I know in my own business belted over thirty seven years would never tolerate anything were there wouldn't be complete opportunity. When you come there. You work hard. You're able to advance and always beyond guard against discrimination and stuff like that. So I think when it comes to diversity, it should be a natural thing in if you're inviting an open, and I've done that in mind tire life since I moved back to my hometown started with fifteen employs for seventy. Eighteen years built it into nine hundred across the country and always had the policy anybody that can come to work there created jobs year after year, it's been a place of opportunity and would never tolerate any discrimination or any of that stuff along the what now that was the answer from Lucy. Brennan, the libertarian Mike Brown Republican, and I was convinced. Holy cow. This is the first time they've ever actually thought about the question. I thought those answers were weak as the day is long peculiar you don't see color yet. You know believes that with all due respect. No one. The conversation about diversity has to be a very honest. One of I hire the best people. The real issue here is that people who decide that person's because of skin color because of religion it because of disability what have you or or birth or socioeconomic status somehow shouldn't be involved in that process of being able to be selected in the first place. That's the fundamental issue. It's like they never thought about the question. And then Joe Donnelly said hold my beer, I'm telling you, you should be sitting down we want. Everybody to have a chance in Indiana and in America and my offices reflect that both on the campaign side. And on the Senate side, our state director is Indian American, but he doesn't amazing job. Director of all constituent services. She's African American, but she doesn't even more incredible job than you could ever imagine. It isn't their race or their religion is the incredible person that they are. But at the same time they have to have a chance. They have to have an opportunity, and that's my responsibility. And I've done it in every office. I've had and I've done it in every campaign. I've had because my campaigns and our Senate office should reflect the face of Indiana. Yeah. Maybe you missed it. But I know you didn't our state director is Indian American. But he doesn't amazing job. I'm sorry. Senator. Did you just say, but he does an amazing job. But he doesn't amazing job. Oh, oh, I guess you did. And and what about your your state director? What about your constituent services director, our director of all constituent services? She's African American. But she doesn't even more incredible job than you could ever imagine. I'm sorry, sir. I just want to make sure did you say bite, but she doesn't even more incredible job than you could ever imagine. Oh, okay. Holy crap. Now, I just wrote about this over WABC dot com. And what I said is that you know, Indiana was looking for a Murdoch moments and Joe Donnelly had gone out of his way to tie Mike Bron to Richard Murdoch. He wanted to suck Mike Brown into this. I think Joe Donnelly may have just given it you tell me is this the Murdoch moment. This is the kind of gaffe, but they do an amazing job. Yeah. They're black. But they do good. Yeah. They're indian-american. But they do fine. I don't I really truly don't think he meant it that way. But you gotta deal with what you just said. This is the kind of gaffe never-trumpers would say is indicative of Trump's supporters, right? That's how it would get played. If this is a Republican this would be front. This would be all CNN could talk about. You tell me if this is Joe Donnelly's Murdoch moment, I know this when you're three points down with a week to go. That's not what you wanted to say,.

"Told him that you could maybe have too much of a good thing. And while the state definitely want for Trump, not everybody in the status pro-trump. And I think that you can beat that horse too many times. And yeah, they backed off. I mean, literally there were six minutes left in the debate before somebody mentioned Trump Trump couple of references references to the president. Right. But nobody said Donald Trump and tell that point and that was Joe Donnelly did it if there wasn't Trump fatigue poor this coming weekend. There may be after Monday when he makes one but two appearances in Indiana on Friday and Monday at both appearances. He's expected to talk about Mike Brown, of course, was the Republican candidate. But he's also expected to talk about you know, Jim banks was running for congress. He's holding an event there in Fort Wayne at the Coliseum. So is there Trump fatigue? Is that one reason that maybe? They didn't mention Donald Trump too much during this debate could be those undecideds. You know, Trump is really here to get base out. And that is really where his focus is going to be. And if you think back to twenty sixteen that's where I mean, you were looking at counties on election night that. Democrats weren't supposed to lose. They were supposed to lose. But not as badly. And so I think that when you start thinking about how Trump is gonna play he is not playing well with educated women, we know that and he after what's happened in the last couple of days with national events. He may not also be playing well with cement decided it. So they're pulling maybe showing them that's true. But I I think he's all about got the base out. Statements as true, the finding showed disregard of the executive branch zero tolerance harassment policy. My position has not changed. Well, I think that's bold. And I think that's hard hard to argue. And I hope you don't go all over social media on him. Because he he deserves a mount great respect for first of all stake in the position in the beginning. And then holding to it a lot of people in the public in the public view. Don't he sticks right with it? I've said this and I'll stand behind it. I'm not concerned for Curtis hill. I think these investigations were very thorough. I believe both the prosecutor and the inspector general who believed the the women. I'm sure his behavior was creepy. Yeah. I believe the women. I didn't know he did a big a scientific poll real poll. He just 'cause friends they usually on the internet. Click here in VO. Yeah. He actually put some pennies together and did a scientific poll on a whole bevy of issues. Everything from the Senate race to Holcomb to Curtis hill, a whole bunch of things and the results are in on the US Senate race and Braun in this poll is up forty seven to forty three over Donnelly sorta jives with a poll Braun put out internally the other day seems like maybe Braun has some momentum. He may have some momentum. And I I don't know where that momentum's coming from. I think the television ads are I think the most my friends tell me. They've just stopped watching. And but when Mike Brown spoke to the the flock at the thousand people at the Republican dinner several days ago week ago, or so views, very good. He was tired. But he was very very good. And if you if you listen to Mike Braun and his story of just pulling himself up by the bootstraps. He didn't want to work in New York. And the any any grew this company any employs a lot of people in his county in his region. It's a it's a great story. And and my gosh, I really believe he's going to be a great US Senator and. And so, you know, I I just I I've told him recently that I really liked his funny ads during the during the primary, and I think, you know, me well enough. I don't throw rocks. Artificial intelligence discovers dozens of mysterious cosmic signals
"Space. Scientists have been hunting for mysterious alien signal for years, but it's hard to find anything meaningful because faces rather large. The big problem isn't actually collecting the data going through all of it and saying, hey, there's something so scientists have brought in artificial intelligence and machine learning tech to look for signals within existing data robots work, very quickly. Of course. Now, the latest discovery came after a I dug through four hundred terabytes of data collected in August of last year. They said that they had this breakthrough that they picked up something that well, it's way outside the Milky Way. Dallas Cowboys' Jerry Jones ready to make some noise
"You feel and and President Trump is convinced you and a lot of you echoed what he said that guys that are Neely are being disrespectful to the country to the flag until the military. Even though that's not the case, even though they've told you why they're Neely, Jerry doesn't care scale all care about is money. And if it doesn't make him money or he feels it might stop him or prevent him for making absorbent amount of money because he's making money, but Jerry field, this might stop him in some way because he's still gets. Pushback this, even though this policy might go in the playoffs Steele might be allowed to kneel. At least I was pushing back. He can always fall back on that and the fans will stay with Jerry. One of them saying it was just the league, voted him and this what the players are allowed to do. So he'll always have that in his back pocket. If he loses the final, the final vote. But I am so disappointed, but I'm not surprised here reacted like this. So I'm going to reiterate to everyone wants more. I know Jerry very well. You could say all too well, I spent literally hundreds of hours interviewing him for three books that I wrote on the Dallas Cowboys one on the Tom Landry Cowboys. One on the Jerry, Jimmy Cowboys. One on the Jerry Switzer Cowboys that somehow in spite of itself won the Super Bowl. I don't often agree with Jerry's politics or his stances on lots of things, or he's worldview or sort of his perceptions. But I do respect one thing about Jerry, Jerry is who Jerry and he will let you know between your is exactly what he thinks and he doesn't care what you think. He's just going to tell you what he thinks and that I do respect that. He just is going to lay it right on the line that my players who collect the checks that I saw are going to literally toe that line as in, they're going to stand for the national anthem with their toes. On my line, it's my, it's called Jerry world. This guy nickname, but with toes on the outta balanced line along their sideline, your toes, you're going to be up on the line. You're not going to be back on the bench. You're going to stand. This is this is a decree from above in what. Did he call the big media session that he did yesterday, he calls it his state of the union, his annual state of the union as training camp opens out in Oxnard, California, not all that far from where we're sitting right now because he is the president owner and operator of the Dallas Cowboys. And he operates. Well. Argue he operates that way because these are his decrees for this year. This is how he feels about the end. He doesn't care what any other owner things. He doesn't care about the ongoing dialogue between the legal fishing, the players association. This is his policy. And originally it was said that each teen could sort of operate its policy the way each team one voted on his Gill. Okay, but, but within the confines of those rule, right, which was insane to me if you want to protest, you can stay in the locker room, right? Neil Bryant them. You can save you if you come out and you have them. But if you don't want to, you can stay in the locker. It was insane. Wasn't gonna work, and now it's not going to work because they're back to the drawing board trying to come up with a new idea. But in the end with Jerry, he's not going to hide what he thinks. He's not going to camouflage what he thinks and he's not going to do what Mike Brown had just done is the owner of the Cincinnati Bengals the day before, what am I Brown say? I was in St.. Acted by the league office not to comment anymore about our anthem. Paul's because there is ongoing dialogue. Well, that's the politically correct thing. Say I have to stand down. That's what might Brown said the Jerry standout. Did he care what anybody else said? What not improbably league wanted the owners not to comment because if they don't comment, maybe someone else won't comment, but we know that's not gonna stop when there's controversy swirling around daily. So I want to be very clear about this, but this is the one thing I appreciate about Jerry Jones. You know exactly who he is, who he's not..
