"A pretty remarkable achievement. When you think about it. You've got to be very proud. Of that accomplishment in the toughness your team is displaying right now. I really am Dad. And you know it may be mentioned some of the post game press conferences. The toughness that our fans are seeing is the way we wanna play basketball, the rotations, the physicality, the energy That is something that's built up throughout the week when it's very difficult to really come with that you only go have the external of the fans. You know, I've often said in this environment, I'm not sure road games aren't the best way to go sometimes. Because the home games other sleep in your own bed, not traveling, which is important. You don't get that extra out from the crowd is we don't have a crowd. And you have been really proud with our guys to handle that narrow, focused and the things I said those guys, all right, whoever is in this room Thank you. You made a commitment. Assistant basketball. During a time when you know it's an opportunity for you saw the key. The young man from Duke tonight, opt out. Look, you saw that one of the top five trap pick and I'm selling three weeks to go in the season, so You know, what are you men are doing right now? The way they're fighting. I'm proud to coach him another proud to put on a Cincinnati uniforms. David Lee. Julius did assume call with reporters after the game yesterday and said earlier this year we were playing individual basketball. Now we are playing team basketball. That's something that you've talked about in recent weeks is that kind of a typical evolution for a young team with several new guys? I think it is. I think, you know if you just take it for face value, you know, I like it into your freshmen coming in. And we all say they don't know what they don't know. But you're coming in your You know a lot of times. You have older guys, that in front of them, you're winning. And you just kind of fall in line right? And you know, we came in. Not a lot of guys in front, Not a lot of separation with your top eight or nine guys from a talent production standpoint, and then all of a sudden, you know we weren't winning. So it's like, Well, I'll just do things I did in high school, right or I'll do the things I did. You know, when I was in another school and That's not the way T figure it out and rightfully so. Understand. Why would have that mindset on the other page of it is is, you know the things that we started with a little bit early, and it's still fight every day. Is this the statement of guys there? I'm all in the room. I'm all into what we need Do is a team. But really, I'm only all and if it works out for me. Right. If I get the minutes I want to shot attempts. I want the opportunities I want. Then then then, then it works out for me. Well, that's that's not how basketball works is that of the college game works, and it's a fight for all of us coaches right now, in today's day and age, right now, in terms of You know where we're at is even more so right on the Kobe environment, So I think our young men are playing more for each other and more for the team with an understanding that you know their roles. There's a level of sacrificed each person's role. But in the larger picture, it isn't opportunities for play for championships and win games. It seems like during this four game winning streak, there's been a different leading score in every game, a different leading rebounder in every game, a different leading assist guy in every game. It has been pick a hero. Uh, each night. We talked about that being a strength or team, So you take the numbers, You said it is not a lot of separation talent, wise or even experienced was on our team. How well what can we pull together from that? And it's exactly what you said then. The opportunity from Mike Adams Woods to you know, be a little conference. You know, Week on a roll this because he's played so well or for a Mason mats in the closed the game out of free throws or for David Lee Julius to take a lot of big time plays down the stretch of her Christmas have six blocks. We have that in place because you know we do have some depth. And with that death comes opportunity for different guys to step up on different nights. And sometimes it takes. You know what a great teammate needs to do. That is to enjoy the night that a teammate had. You know that your knight will come You feel like guys they're getting there and that specific aspect? I do. I do. I really do, but also knows the challenge form. You know, outside voices shouldn't influence inside choices. So Doing their environment, You know, Twitter and you said that one of your boys is averaging 15 and 10 and getting 20 shots a game and you're not right. So it's a constant battle. It's a constant battle and my team's over the course of the years. I've always gotten better towards the end of the year. In large part because there's been a difference between some of the go to guys and not go to guys in the kind of leadership roles of who you want to go to certain times in the game, and who are your Alfa Dogs have already been established on and obviously and really, really good programs that have recruiting classes for Consecutive years. They have that were you know my second year we're still building that piece. And I'm so proud of the way they played the way they've committed to each other. Now, the challenge is, can they continue to do that? Uh, you know, while again, you know they're on the Internet, looking at the boy's staffs or somebody's in there, You're gonna get more shots upper playing more minutes as you mentioned Mike Adams. Woods was named to the conference on a roll today for his play. Last week. 12.5 points in your two wins, he shot. 50% averaged five rebounds, had three assists per game and played excellent defense. This summer. When players went home. Michael lost a bunch of weight, and he's skinny to begin with How much did that affect him early this year?.

"But they have not been what former head coach Mick Cronin used to refer to his turnovers for touchdown for You Turn it over near mid court. It leads to a breakaway for the other team points off turnovers. There's only a one point difference. So again. The bear cats nearly twice as many turnovers, but it's only cost them shots, not baskets for the other team you but it also killed runs. I mean, you talk about going where you had a seven point lead, and it goes down to a four point lead, and it goes down to a one point lead because of turnovers. Keep Williams is electric as the years with the ball five of 10 from the floor 50% not a bad percentage. He's got five turnovers. He's doing too much, and if you factor in a couple of those bad shots that he takes I mean, he's his plus minus he has minus three on the floor right now, because of his decision making his decision making has become more solid. If he's going to lead a team is one thing to be a score. It's another thing to lead a team and everybody had certain things to say about Jared Company. And rightfully so. But Jared come with new how to lead a team and your incoming wasn't Alfa. And when Jared led, along with Trey Scott, everybody followed you. CF has a has the ball. Cincinnati has a one point lead. Mehan Aura. Mobley rather now has a bandage over his eye where he was bleeding. Perry drives to the rim is scoop shot is no good. Rebounded by Keith Williams. Cincinnati Breaks with numbers Mike Adams Woods puts up a shot, missed it. Put back up by Keith Williams. No good, but Keith got fouled, and we'll go to the line to shoot too. You got fouled twice, so he got following the shopping tip back. But then the play was over and the fish was walking to make the call. Keep.

"700 WLW Cincinnati Up by 7 41 to 34 The bear Cats have been excellent defensively in the 1st 3.5 minutes of the second half. As you see up hasn't scored yet. I'm great at the way they get the ball out whether they blocked shots. The defense of Cincinnati is so much differently when Chris vote is in the game because he can play head up. No double teams needed, although Davenport off often comes and helps out, but when he could go one on one and just hold his guy when the shot goes up, it's easier for guys who is not leaving their God to come and help in double team to box out located defender. Get the rebound and run with it. Chris vote leading the Cats with 10 points so far today, Mike Adams Woods has nine Keep, Williams has eight. This is just the third time this year that Chris voted scored in double digits. And his first time in ages. The last time he had 10 or more points in a game was December the 16th against USF. Last year, he averaged double digits, 11 points, but Going has been tougher. So far this year for Chris Vote has been tougher. He came in with 16 blocks on the season. You see doesn't have a block in this game, but yet they contested shots at the rim. So a good portion where they called him the miss and get out run. Mobley checks in coming out of the time out for UCF. Reynolds is out. Fuller is also into the game and you see, it has the ball trailing Cincinnati by seven. Carry out near center court. Julius in a defensive stance. Carrie goes by him on the dribble throws an alley oop, and it's dumped in with these by CJ Walker came right behind. Keith Keith was looking to stop. The penetration didn't see the man behind the full court pressure by, you see up to Julius jumps and passes for Williams up the sideline for Davenport. Didn't see vote under the basket now feeds it to keep Williams. We've got a collision and another offensive foul called on Keith Williams, his second in about two minutes span. No, he's saying, how come I saw Keith at Kroger when I was sitting in line for an hour and a half? After the game on Friday, and he was upset because, he said, the officials aren't letting them play and I understand what he's talking about. But at the same time he's got to be able to stop on 2 FT. And make plays when he's cutting to the basket because Johnny Dawkins is the former, you know, Duke player and all Duke does is take charges. They do a lot of drills on charges, and so if you notice anybody in the league When it comes to charges you see, at least the league in charge is Pete Williams comes out after picking up his third foul and we have reached 16 minutes. Media time Out exactly. 16 minutes left in regulation. Cincinnati 41 u. C. F 36. This is Bear Cat basketball. Presented by Ukraine a news radio 700 wlw..

Brendan Barry got hot in the second half. He led the way with 17 points. All 17 came in the second half. And I'm guessing they all came in the last 10 to 12 minutes of the game. "Working out at a team of people. Pass him the ball and he was getting shots up and working on going to the hole. And then it was impressive and to see that Translate into game action toe like where he never left off. Remember, he was on a hot streak. 19 points in this last game in his hometown in Wichita against that team, they didn't get the win. But to have him pick up where he left off is impressive today. In his last four games before the six game stretch of postponements. Zack Harvey was averaging just under 14 points. Temples ball to begin the second half. Cincinnati on top by six. Jeremiah Williams, who had nine points in the first half pizza to the low block and JP Mormon jumps to get Jeremiah Davenport in the air puts up a shot that goes in foul called on Davenport. They count the basket. NBA style. Yeah, Davenport is known for Po going every time somebody pump fakes. You know he's hanging on the Raptor whenever you look into the sky, but that imports got some get back in them. So there's been a lot of talking, going back and forth. I love that competitive edge. JP Mormon makes the free throw to complete a three point play. Cincinnati had a 32 to 22 lead late in the half. Temple is scored seven straight points. It's a 32 to 29 game early second half Haven't poured Has it at the right. 0.2 steps outside the three point strike, both sets the screen. Now it's Mike Adams would back to Davenport into the middle of the lane boat. Within easy left hand scoop, tremendous entry pass by Jeremiah Davenport. He looked right over a coach and getting the fist. It says. I got your coach 34 29. Cincinnati with a five point advantage Less than a minute into the second half. Williams feeds it to the low block and Damian done no look Cross court pass of Andre Perry. Mrs. An Open three and another rebound for to Julius, his seven Cincinnati into the front court. Julius Driving Slows down the left elbow finds Devenport 43. It's no good offensive rebound boat does it back outside for Davenport, now Michael Adams Woods. Top of the key for the Julius Left hand dribble, beats it over to Mike Adams. Woods finds Julius up top, but he threw it too wide of them, and it goes out of bounds. Mm. Julius was relocating and that ball came right behind him. Sort of a nonchalant baseball pass. By Mike Adams. Woods 10 Turnovers for Cincinnati, Only five for Temple Temple had 19 when these two teams met eight days ago. Why did they only give him 20 seconds? Battle driving on Julius Running shot. No good rebound snatched by Davenport outlets boarded Julius pushes it into the front court, driving into the lane pizza over the vote, and his shot is blocked out of bounds by Forrester. He's gotta go up strong that he's leaning with his body and trying to avoid the defender defenders only 6 FT eight So if you could just catch it and go put that farm in his chest and put it up, then you can score. It feels like he's rushing is yes. Keep Williams has it. Give Andre Perry crowding him Keep spending into the lane, dribbling near the right elbow passes backward for Adam's Woods shot blocking 10. Micah Cross court pass to Julius Open three. Short rebounded by DIVX. Andre Perry, Cincinnati up by five temples ball in the front court. Here's Jeremiah Williams. Julius will defend cross court feet for Mormon drives on Davenport gets to the rim help defense by boat to effect the shot. Offensive rebound for Temple Williams for three. Too strong rebounded by Mike Adams Woods. Outlets for Julius, who pushes the pace passes for Adam's Woods. Now it's Williams to the rim got to be a foul and there's the whistle tremendous passed from Majka. Adam's words to a little hand off like they were running a beer and they gave the ball to keep Williams and he slices from the wing to the middle. Puts it up and attack. I love the cross court pass first by Julius I was called on JP Mormon, his second Two foul shots coming for Keith Williams. Making 65% so.

"Left in the half Forrester at the line for a couple of foul shots. He is two for two so far tonight. Started his college career playing for the Indiana Hoosiers, and his free throw is no good, Dan. I think thinking on that is they gotta give Mama do a little bit of a rest because you know he's coming back from being out with Colbert so he needs a quick blow. And then if they could get a minute out of Chris Boat without fouling, they can put mama doing for the rest of the half and take Chris out. Second foul shot Good. That's seven first half points for Forrester, Cincinnati's leaders 4 26 2 22. Temple goes to a half court trap Bear cat Solve it. Now Temple backs up into it. Man to man defense. Here's vote just outside the arc, hands it off top of the key for the Julius Julius to the wing and Micah Adam's Woods has a foot out of bounds as he catches the pass, catch the ball and shooting. I mean, it's very simple Things is like the third time. This has happened in the last couple of games where guys on the side of the court and steps out of bounds. This vote out as you anticipated. Mamadou Diarra checks in Mamadou Looks like he lost some weight. It was already skinny. Yeah, he looks really skinning out some Eminem's and watching bank off his ribs. Temples fall down by four battle outside the are guarded by Mike Adams Woods. Good defense by the bear Can I swore he knocks the ball away. We've gotta scramble on the floor. And Cincinnati comes up on the loose ball. It's a two on one break. Davenport to Harvey. No Foul shot is blocked out of bounds by Divx. Andre Perry. Are you serious? I mean, he puts it up and get smacked to the ground, and the official just points to the sideline and saying No, no call Zack Harvey came down hard. The back of his head slammed into the floor. No whistle. Harvey will throw it in from the baseline 307 left and a half since in any leads by four. Lobs it into Mamadou Diarra. The right elbow passes backward for Mike Adams Woods. Now it's David Lee Julius on the Sea Paul logo 15 left to shoot 2 55 left in the half. Julius passes for Davenport into the corner. Mike Adams Woods. Or three, and it's good, pretty simple. Instead of trying to catch it and attack baseline where their options are limited. Catch it and shoot cats are up by seven for the first time in the first half 29 to 22 Jeremiah Williams in the lane just below the free throw line gets up a shot. No good. Rebound hits the floor diving attempt by starting out of bounds and it goes out of bounds off temple. Tremendous hustle. There was going to say if they get at the temple. He was already out of bounds when he threw that ball. But to dive on the floor. To really try to sell yourself out. To get that ball to get extra possession for your team is what bear cat basketball is all about. I said Harvey, that was actually Jeremiah Davenport with that tremendous effort. Try to get that loose ball. Cincinnati's ball 29 22 the bear Cats up by 7 2.5 minutes left in the first half Julius Outside the arc passes to Davenport, looking down low for Mamadou instead passes on the right wing for Adam's Woods Julius of the left point. Unsurpassed for Harvey steps into a three and the rainbow is good. He's been putting in the work. Yes, he's been out, but he has not been idle. He's been putting in took the time and you started to see the payoff that double digit Lee for Cincinnati, 32 to 20 to eight off the bench in the first half for Zack Harvey. Forrester. Guarded by Mamadou Diarra and illegal story, Barry three point shot. He missed it. Julius has the rebound Cincinnati running every time they grab a rebound. Here's Gavin toward passing for Adam's woods outside the arc right back to center court. Julius 1 35 left in the half 16 left on the shot clock for you See Julius dribbling out near center court on the far sideline. The R sprints out to set a pick Now it's Davenport, Allie. You caught into the basket by Diarra briefly lost it. And then the ball goes out of bounds off. Mamadou can't drop the baby. Come on. We just talked about those strong and from there as he hits his chest. This is my bad. But his active nous in the paint from block to block off that role when he rolls down on.

"Putting his elbow abs They need through the elbow, which was funny because John Brennan was saying the same thing on the other end, which he did throw the elbow. He gave the shock value right in the chest. But somewhere across the country, I can hear Davenport, who sounds a lot like Troy cope, Pain yelling out and one As it rings around the arena. I was called on Kevin Cross his second so to two lane starters have two fouls free Throw. No good. Offensive rebound for Jeremiah Davenport game is tied at 15 the bear Cats try to feed it down low. It gets deflected and stolen by two lane. Good Hustle by Mike Adams Woods to Tip the ball away, but two lane comes up with a loose ball. Now cross shoots a two point jump shot from straight away, please. It's short. Rebound run down by Michael Adams would Cincinnati the ball game tied at 15? They feed it into the middle of the lane boat trying to pass to the corner. It is stolen by two lane. He's trying to be unselfish, but he was 5 ft. From the room 9 39 left in the first half 15 all the score. Walker backing up towards center court fakes, Right dribbles left. He's at the free throw line passes backward for cross cross, throwing it outside the arc for Walker Walker with a spin dribble. Watson driving shooting offensive foul called on Gabe Watson as Mike Adams would steps in and draws a charge and you look at me because I'm smiling, first file in seven games for the bear Cat out. Vicky was there but the fact that he jumped right into him. Michael was still moving. He wasn't set. You could still be moving. But as long as your principal of verticality is not sliding left to right, he hit him and he flew back. Sixth team foul on two lane. Cincinnati has only been called for three. And with 901 left in the half the bear cats will have the ball with the score tied at 15 to Julius crosses the timeline on the dribble passes toward the near side line and Adam's Woods cross court feed caught by Williams all of this taking place outside the three point line to Julia swings. It left outside the arc for Adam's Woods back to the Julius Straightaway trainee's got it gave him a Reggie Miller hard triple threat. Just one wife of the ball. The defender backed up on the rules and shot. Cincinnati has taken an 18 to 15 lead. 8 45 left in the first half to Julius with seven points. Forbes outside the arc in front of the Bear Cat bench, guarded by Michael Adams, Woods, those it toward the corner and cross driving baseline against vote. He dribbled it off his leg and out of bounds. Dan, the office looks so much better with the Alfa with the hands on the ball. When you have a scoring point guard in college basketball, it opens up everything else for your for your perimeter players. As well as your big Cincinnati up by 3 18 15 8 22 left in the first half. In New Orleans. Cincinnati has it in the front court. Mike Adams Woods, 30 FT from the bucket. Their cats getting into position against this zone. Defense Julius outside the arc left troubles behind the back now accelerating toward the top of the key, stumbled a bit but maintained his dribble. Here's Adam's woods. Way out outside the hash. Mark. Cross court pass caught by the Julius gets his defender in the area passes the Davenport for a wide open three. Missed it. Offensive rebounding the stick back for Keith Williams. How beautiful was that? You penetrate baseline. Collapse the defense kick it cross court for three missing often to rebound. Put back 70 run for Cincinnati and a five point lead the bear Cats biggest Forbes drives and draws a foul from Chris Vote his second But that's the way you do it. You first of all, you don't let him go based on but he did put it up straight in the air, both hands in the air. But the action from the bear cats on the offensive end was tremendous. And that takes us to the under eight minute media time. Out. It comes with 7 39 left in the first half. Cincinnati Up by 5 22 15 and you're listening to bear cat basketball. A game of those three point shots runs the floor. Well, didn't see any of that last game. He rebounded Well, though, back to back turnovers for this line up against two lane zone defense. The green wave with the ball leading 12 8. Thailand. Pope driving to the rim he gets tied up by rob Banks. And on the jump ball indication Cincinnati will get it My man rob banks, the reason I love rob banks and one he thinks he is just as good and deserving to be on the floor is any of the scholarship players. Secondly very long arms for his size and very strong and big hands to lane stays with 1 to 2. Full court trap banks in the backcourt had it stripped Here's Walker and was driving to the bucket chutes over banks missed the shot rebounded by to Julius, who pushes the pace the other way. Long pass to a wide open. Madsen three point shot clangs off the front rim. He gets his own rebound drives toward the who bounces it into the paint. Atari Eason kicks it out to to Julius, who's three point shot is too strong and the rebound is chased down by Jordan Walker, the smallest player on the floor. That's the kind of action Americans got a half make it frenetic. Had two open threes missed him and two lane has the ball with a 12 8 lead We played about 5.5 minutes, Thailand Popa step outside the three point line banks on him defensively to the wing and Walker. Ounces it to Watson, Gabe Watson, driving into the lane stops on the low block pass his top of the key for pope hands it backward for Walker Walker with a step back to point jump shot, too strong rebound battled for and the battle is won by the Julius. Mason Madsen, now with the left elbow. It is Eason. They pass around to Mike Adams. Woods shot clock winding down to nine banks right back to Mike Adams Woods at the right point shot clock at five. Eastern sets a pick. Here's Mads and going by his defender. Baseline. Jump shot. No good. Tipped up by Eastern. No good. And the rebound is controlled by two lane. He was hugging him around the way so he couldn't jump and he'll come out of the game. For that so to turn of the turnover on the play, where he lost the ball, then now that file which gives them the opportunity. Pete Williams back in Jeremiah Davenport back in Forbes, playing with two fouls, driving right to the rim, his finger roll is good, and the help defense by Tory was not existent. He's going for the shot clock instead of coming to make a presence felt first. Cincinnati has gone about 2.5 minutes without scoring. The bear Cats have fallen behind by 6 14 8 12 45 left in the first half. Cincinnati passing into the corner. And the shot has put up and in the bear cat score and pull within four. It is 14 10. Having a little trouble with our feed to pass along who scored that last Cincinnati bucket. It appears to be Keith Williams. And now two lane turns it over. Cattle and have these stretches where they'll go without. And we've seen this over the years with all Cincinnati teams, and it's not just a Cincinnati team. It's all in college basketball. But since 90 has the ability to get points back quickly because they press all the time they shoot quick threes, and they like to attack the basket, which gives them opportunities. The last Cincinnati Bearcat basket was scored by Jeremiah Davenport, not Keith Williams, Cincinnati trailing 14 to 10. That's gonna be an intricate part of your defense. It's a defensive weapon. Temple by 2 44 42 9 minutes and 31 seconds to go Mike Adams Woods at the free throw line. Southpaws. First shot is up. It is around the rim and in First point tonight. The sophomore Michael Adams Woods. He's got another one coming to try to tie the game. Jeremiah Williams got hurt on the collision. He's going to come out for temple and he was hot. So the bear cats will happily see him go to the bench. I know as the Take a little time in between free throws. Mickey is really upset because he knows this is their change that they ever going to be the team in the league and beat Cincinnati. There's six in a row. They have lost to the bear cats. If they're ever going to beat the bad guys, this is the time they're gonna be them. 5 12 left in the half. It'll be Cincinnati's ball after forcing the 32nd violation for turnover number 10 the bear Cats have committed five Keith Williams inbounds in the backcourt to David Did, Julius and the junior from Michigan will dribble into the front court for the Bear Cats. Here's Eastern outside the arc, right, Tari bouncing it on the wing for Jeremiah Davenport now Williams 43 keep shot No good. Rebounded by Divx, Andre Perry. Jeremiah Williams dribbles into the front court for Temple Julius Defense. Williams pounding nails with right hand dribble now beginning to drive toward the three point line into the corner for an open three battle, missed it. Rebounded by the Julius Long lead feet caught on the run. Mike Adams Woods into traffic kicks it back to Davenport and he drills a three point shot, and he was floating to the right. But he loved that catch and shoot. He's a great spot up shooter. Eight straight points for Cincinnati. In the Bear Cats have a 22 to 19 lead for 22 remaining in the half. They left battle to dive. Andre Perry, dribbling along the three point line. Hands it backward for Berry, Cincinnati calling for a travel No whistle Mormon. Now, with the lefty dribble turns to face Davenport passes to bury outside the Arctic Mike Adams Woods with excellent de berry trying to get off a shot. It got blocked and Cincinnati comes up with a loose ball to Julius, weaving through traffic to the lefty. Finger roll is good, and Cincinnati has scored 10 in a row to take a five point lead, jumped off the left leg. Put Shut up with the right hand, then switched it over to the left. "That's Michael's first point, Cincinnati down by 5103 left in the half. Left. He's got another foul shot coming. Myka bends at the knees puts up the free throw around the rim and ends so got the friendly roll Both times. Cincinnati pulls within 4 63 seconds left in the half quarter will dribble up the floor. Here comes a double team passes it ahead for a T n Now he fires it forward for Dexter Dennis very close to the sideline. Back outside the arc reporter now Ettien isolated right side against Mike Adams Woods, driving on him Help defense by Diarra. His man gets the ball went to the home, Mr Schott. We got a violation against Wichita State. He stepped out of bounds. So that's how Cincinnati comes up with the ball 43.6 seconds left in the half. Tough. It was a traveler stepped out of bounds there, but great defensive possession here, and that's what the bear cast needed. And now you gotta figure out how to get you a good shot here. 2.5 on a solid note. Julius driving passes to Saunders fakes the three drives to the hoop passing in the paint for vote. Could have a foul called on Wichita State. Like the decision. They're struggling from the three point line. Instead, I'll drive it. I go get fouled here and try to make a play for someone else. I like that decision, thereby freshman Sanders. I was called on Dexter Dennis his first personal fouls Now 11 for Cincinnati, four for Wichita State. So getting a little closer after was eight. Nothing With 7.5 minutes left in the half. Cincinnati has the ball. We're down to 22 seconds left in the half. There's a seven second difference between the clock's Julius passing into the corner, Harvey for three. Got it and Cincinnati pulls within 1 12 1st half points for Zack Harvey. And that's what I said. I mean, that's six man stepping up and bang the big three. There is our exact hard AT T end with a tough driving shot. It is no good rebound, tipped outside as the horn sounds, and the bear cats will head to the locker room down by one. After that, Rainbow three splashed in for Zack Harvey and you know, I've noticed that's his shot. He didn't have to release it and bring it down. I.

"I wrote about this, I guess what this week last week. Here. My Davenport is the only non freshman who I think you could make. The argument has gotten better either from last year over the course of this year, and that's great. But like I loved hearing my dad before, that's awesome, but that that's not a good sign moving forward. If we all start to see some progress from from some of those other guys so You know, I think they made some some positive development in that pulse again. They cut down on turnovers. They cut down on south. They still shot terribly. They still lost on their home floor. Um, there's there's improvement to be made. But if it's like the end of the year, and we're still wondering what they have, and Mike Adams with what they haven't back, Harvey, why isn't David Lee? Julius? You know, making shots? That is, like worst case scenario to me. It feels like Keith Williams is on board with that plan, because he he tries to foul out of every game, which opens up room for for somebody who's gonna be here next year. I mean, you sit right in front of me at these games. That was in the final minute of the first half that told the game and it was like a magnet. He had to get a second foul before halftime. It's like he might have pulled out of baseball that month. That guy's once also Yeah, I mean, look, he still their leading scorer. He's averaging 15 points a game. It should be 20 if you would just make it free throws, so he's still their most important player, and it is going to be their most steady, consistent score. And I'm not saying like, Well, we should just throw the season away. So sorry, Keith Williams. He's gonna be a big part of what they're doing going forward. But, you know, I think it has to be within the Framework of the offense, the system whatever John Breen and changed a lot of stuff last year with Karen, you know, running point guard and just kind of, you know, managing more than coaching, that was, you know, toward the effort of getting into the empty a tournament. That's not gonna happen, so I don't think we're gonna see that as much this year. What does that look like with guys like Keith and Chris? Boat down the stretch? Yeah, you and I talked about this before the season, the sophomore class, and Jeremiah Davenport has been a revelation. He shot the ball Well, he plays with energy. I think I think every bear cat fan is happy with the progress they're seeing from him. Mike Adams Woods I thought was due for a break out season might be a little bit much, but I like what I saw was a freshman. I thought steady improvement. That could be a good thing. I think to a degree, he's gone backwards. We're now in the second semester. It's a different type of season but still second semester off his sophomore season. Same thing for Zach Harvey Game one Love the energy, love the confidence that I saw, and I just I haven't really seen in extended bursts since that to me. I don't like picking on college kids, those two individuals. To me, that's been disappointing. There's other factors. They haven't had anybody to close out games. They've been young and in certain spots, the rap Ivanauskas thing was ah, a square peg in a round hole that Workout, the shuffling of guys in and out that's fine. But those two players and the lack of improvement for me has been has been maybe the most disappointing thing about this season. I think you could put David Julius in there, too. I mean, played hard. He's done some good things, but he's not shot. Well, you know, I think if you look over a set, she you see a lot of like one for 62 for eight things like that. You know, he's going to be a key guy. He was a two year player when they brought him in. So he's gonna be there next year, which was back in like a. I'm with you. Those three guys, we have to see them whether they're like shooting themselves out of a form. You know what I think you could say for Mike and the Julius or just getting more minutes and and being more engaged on both ends of the floor. You know, we have to see that because if we go into the end of the season, and it's like he's averaging 15 16 points, Jeremiah's out of region eight and everyone else is kind of like them below them that that's that's a really good time. Really quick here. I got about a minute. When you're having a bad year. Fans like to cling to. Well, the cavalry is coming here schools who's coming in next year. The pandemic has screwed up college basketball recruiting all over the country, But I think one thing that a lot of folks are expressing some concern is well, there's no one to point to. There's nobody committed. There's nobody signed. There's nobody you could say, Well, you know, this kid's going to come in and change it next year. Can can you expand on that? Yeah. I mean, unfortunately, no, because there really isn't a lot. I think there's you know, they're banking on. They're gonna have to go to the transfer portal and I know that scarce and people, especially if you think about Rapolas Ivanauskas and and how that one Or maybe someone went last year, Chris MacNeil chase the role I get residency there. But I guess the one good thing is with this rule change. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of players in the portal now that could also apply to U. C. So that way that's a double edged sword. I guess the one thing for hope would be, you know, not every thing and recruiting is done out louder. Now it's done in the light of day. Maybe they have something they feel good about. That's just the staff is tight lipped and not putting it out there. Um, So I think this year because of everything because of the transition season, the pandemic you no point at all six or seven excuses, you know, Bill eventually get a little past. Maybe not from the sand base, but they're gonna have some time. John Brain's gonna have time as as he should. He deserved that. You know what he did last year and what his plan is for the program. But, you know, I don't think we could run this back next season and And have people feeling good about it or or being his patient. So when you see the positive progress this season and we need to see some development, you know, including recruits moving in the next year, I appreciating you Let me bug you is always man. Thanks so much. Thank you. That's so Justin Williams covers you see football basketball for the athletic. He is on Twitter at Williams underscore Justin, Did you watch the Sunday Night football game? "Their cats have dropped five in a row. They lost today at home to Tulsa, 72. 66, Cincinnati falling to two and six overall and oh, and three in league play Tall, says won five in a row. At Memphis home against Houston when Houston was ranked fifth in the country and now on the road at Cincinnati. That's a heck of a three game run for Frank hates Golden, Hurricane Tulsa, six and three Overall, three and one in the league at the start of play today, Cincinnati shared the bottom spot in the conference standings it owing to with two lane and Temple. Two lane one today, beating in East Carolina. So two lane is off the schneid Temple plays later. Against Memphis. No, I beg your pardon. That game has been postponed due to covert 19. So the bear Cats in Temple will remain winless in conference play extremely frustrating Day for the bear Cats and their fans. Today, they fell behind by 12 rallied to tie with 14 minutes in 19 seconds to go. Immediately allowed Tulsa to score 11 straight to fall behind by 11 and then fought back and tied it again. With 1 30 to go. Keith Williams was at the free throw line of the chance to give Cincinnati its first lead All day he missed tells to grab the rebound went to the other end of the floor, and then Brandon Rachelle Who was the best player on the floor today, by far got the ball in the paint appeared to fall over backward could have been traveling instead of followers called in Cincinnati, and as he was falling over backward, he put it up and in completed a three point play. It's also went on to win for their from their won't make it. What you just described this incredible. I mean, in saying all of that the cats had a chance and you're talking about a team. That is an experience, a team that is trying to is devoid of leadership. You know the best team not just have one leader. We all want to have a captain. That's it. That's one thing, but you need a group of leaders. You need a upper class group that will speak out that knows culture. The first thing you build when you're establishing anything is you established culture. First culture breeds everything. You know when they're trying to figure out what's going on in something, they put it in a Petri dish, which is guaranteed culture. Their cats don't have a culture of winning, and so what they did last year doesn't carry over to this year because the bulk of the scoring and leadership is gone and you have two of the quietest guys back who are just used to being role players. Now you ask him to step into bigger roles, and we think production equates to leadership. It does not The guys that you brought in. They don't lead vocally. They don't leave with their intensity. They don't lead with their preparation. What you find right now, If you find the cats on a five game losing streak, let's take a look at the individual scoring today as we wait to be joined by head coach John Brandon. He is on his way as we speak for the Golden Hurricane. They were led by Brandon Rochelle. What a performance 25 points, 13 rebounds and every big play down the stretch. After the bear Cats tied the game with 90 seconds to go rate Edo Woo Had 16 points. That's a new career high for him. Keyshawn Embry Simpson had eight Darion Jackson had eight. Elijah Joyner had seven. Curtis Heywood had four. Austin Richie had to and added up to 70 for Tulsa for Cincinnati. Keith Williams led the way with 18 points, but Keith was For for 14 from the floor. Jeremiah Davenport scored 16 points off the bench. He also shared rebounding honors with seven. David Julius had nine points and a team high four assists. Zack Harvey had eight points in the game Theresa and had six points and seven rebounds. So Davenport and Ethan shared the rebounding lead for Cincinnati with seven apiece. Mike Adams. Woods had five points. Chris Vote had four points, It added up to 66 4, Cincinnati. And a bear Cats head coach John Brandon joining us now coach he rallied from 12 points down and tied it with 14 19 to go rallied from 11 points down after that, tied it again with 1 30 to go. It's kind of been the story of the season so far some of these great comebacks, but the margin of error is so small that if you make one mistake or Don't get a key rebounder. Stop that cost you the game. No question. It's exactly what's been. Your mortuary is very small, and you just can't quite get over that hump. And I thought you guys played really well tonight in terms of What they game planning part portion. I thought they were completely vested that they gave everything they had that really great 11 days of either the rest. Then we came back here and work. We just We got to attend for 12 for 14 17. Just just We're not making it just don't make the close shots for shots and Something you have times like that. Sometimes you have years like that, But I believe the work that they put in. We're going to eventually make shots I thought we played. You know, we still got get loose balls or something that we got to clean up, But our guys gave us everything they had tonight. Every guy on the bench contributed, played nine guys, double figure minutes basically. And we just couldn't finish at the end. Yeah, I thought that your shot making will take care of itself. Once they passed the ball better. You guys had 17 more shot attempts than told you had five more rebounds until so you had 16 offensive rebounds. But you only had 11 assists, and.

Now it is Embry Simpson in the front court. He just made a three passes back for Rachelle, who was unstoppable in the first half. Now. Richie launches a long three missed badly rebounded by ISA. Cincinnati's ball down by five. Julius Driving toward the lane throws it backward for East and three point shot. Missed it. Chris Vote with an offensive rebound. Their cats reset. Mike Adams Woods on the CPA proud of about 300 fans comes to life. Julius top of the key for recent driving on Rochelle. No look, feed Adam's Woods for three. He missed it from the left corner and he was opened and there was no weeks I rebound. Even though Keith was there, he didn't get a rebound position, so he just conceded the rebound. Michael over three from outside the arc, and again the corner shot was money for him last year. Else's ball with a five point lead. Ritchie in the corner. Deep corner, guarded by Eastern feeds it down low for Rochelle. He's double teamed, his bounce pass nearly stolen. It is stolen. Keep Williams got it ahead to vote. Now, Adam's Woods dribbling behind the back passes it for Easton goes up strong, missed a layup. Right next to the RAM, rebounded by Tulsa. Arnesen is one for nine. And that was an uncontested layup more or less just kind of rushed. It tells his ball up by five. Rochelle, hands it off on the perimeter, and Bree Simpson gets it for Joyner Joyner, now driving Job by vote to help his teammate Julius and cut off Joyner. Here's a step back three slams off the backboard. No good did not hit the rim. Cincinnati has the ball trying to take a bite out of the five point deficit. Julie is dribbling in the front court. "Guard will tell you someone's hot. Let's get this person to shot. I've been in Around basketball here with bare catch nearly 30 years and we've had some great point guards and when somebody's hot, they wipe off what the coaches called and said, Let's get this person the ball 36 28 tall, so 1 39 remaining in the half as Rachelle brings it up the floor. Shell has 13 in the first half for Tulsa. Keith Williams defends Richie sets A pick Here's a long three. Good Lord Brandon Rachelle is on. Conscious. That was three steps behind the line, and he had nothing but net, but he's feeling good to initial post feel good. He's three for three from outside the arc he has 16 in the first half also leads by 11. 1 10 left in the half. Williams wants a ball screen. Now passes into the corner for Davenport tried to feed it. Download didn't put enough on the past gets knocked out of bounds by Tulsa. Make a path before you make a pass. Seems like get back. I speak of whenever someone scores on everybody tries to come back and do one pass. Let me see what I can get that everybody stands around and watches. Meerkats have eight seconds to get a shot off under similar circumstances earlier in the half, they didn't realize it had a 32nd violation. Williams will throw it in for Cincinnati. Opposite outside the Arc four to Julius Julius is going to shoot a three. His shot around the rim. No good. Rebounded by Rachelle one hand rebound with a Flex tells his ball with 52 seconds left in the half and an 11 point lead. Joyner dribbling just past the CPA logo. Now feeds it for Richie. Richie's Going to drive Bounces it back for Rochelle Rochelle, guarded by William Step Back three. No good. He finally missed one. Cincinnati grabs the long rebound to Julius throws it ahead. Formica. Adam's Woods double clutch bank shot good, and a foul called on Tulsa. Chance to get this lead back to eight. Get the deficit cut a little bit. But it's the transition office. If the cats can get a stop defensively, they're eager and their athletic enough to get out in the open floor and make something happen, But it all starts in the defensive end. Joiner called for the foul his first Mike Adams Woods at the line.

"Also has a bench point lead 17 7 11 14 left in the half. Golden Hurricanes knocked down 33 pointers here in the first half. That's three more than tells him made in the entire game last year here at 5th 3rd Arena when they went over 17 I'm outside the arc and Cincinnati won by 31 points. Wow. I mean Cincinnati shoot right now, Like they're playing outside in the commons there. Two of 13 Chili. A 15.4%. So Tardis is open four Keith Williams over to Zack Harvey over one Julius over to their shooting floaters and runners and shots that they cannot rebound because They're shooting themselves out of position. Tar is getting too often to rebound, trying to convert. But he's throwing it back up there using that pump baking and then powering it back up the donkeys trying to hurry up quick shooting and he's missing. This boat has a basket. Jeremiah Davenport has a three point basket. Cincinnati trails 17 7 bear Cats will throw it into the front court with 20 seconds on the shot clock after fouls called on Brandon Rachelle of Tulsa, Cincinnati. Inbounds cats have it outside the arc. Here's Williams driving baseline blows by his defender went up for a shot had it blocked, But the loose ball went to Ethan and he lays it in keep rubs his chess because he knew he should have went the donkey instead of trying to avoid the contact. Little token, full court pressure by Telesis Cincinnati breaks it with these now attacks Adam's woods into the lane for a runner too strong rebounded by Rachelle Passes up to center court. Embry Simpson has it Now a shell for three. His second attempt to second make Oh, he's loving. It goes a little arrow to his sideline. He pulls it back. He's filling in early six. Nothing tells on a pair of three point baskets by Brandon Rachelle East and drives toward the rim puts up a bank shot misses. It gets his own rebound. Mrs. It tips it up again. No good Michelle with the rebound. Takes a bounce pass inside, throws it backward for Joyner. Now he fakes it. Three passes to Rachelle drives into the lane when up came down, no travel call that Cincinnati steals the ball. Julius near the three point line. Now tarry ease into a wide open Micah Adam's woods lobs it outside for the Julius three point shot. Hangs off the rim. No good. Rebounded by Tulsa. He gave up a wide open layup to kick out for three. And that's why they're struggling. That was Mike Adams Woods, who made that decision. We're about three minutes into the game. It is six. Nothing tells that Toss with a ball in the front court hears Joyner. No look, Bounce pass stolen, but Cincinnati loses it out of bounds. Michael Adams Woods knocked the ball away and then Chris Boat Inadvertently knocked it over the baseline, so Cincinnati will match guard guard they bring in You're my damn important. Take out. Sorry, Cyn. I think when you look at Mike Adams was, there's a lot of people that could step up. His last five games have been subpar for his standards. Possible, throw it in in the front court, leading six Nothing Joyner into the corner. Here's a three point shot short, long rebound grabbed by Jeremiah Davenport. He's just checked in long past, caught in the front court by Adam's Woods passes over to Keith Williams, who misses the three point shot. Also will attack two on one fast break. Got away with a travel. No, they didn't late whistle. And the travel is called on Ray, do. Whoa! I mean, if you want to be the old Dallas Mavericks, just a straight jump shooting team. Thistles.
