"I wrote about this, I guess what this week last week. Here. My Davenport is the only non freshman who I think you could make. The argument has gotten better either from last year over the course of this year, and that's great. But like I loved hearing my dad before, that's awesome, but that that's not a good sign moving forward. If we all start to see some progress from from some of those other guys so You know, I think they made some some positive development in that pulse again. They cut down on turnovers. They cut down on south. They still shot terribly. They still lost on their home floor. Um, there's there's improvement to be made. But if it's like the end of the year, and we're still wondering what they have, and Mike Adams with what they haven't back, Harvey, why isn't David Lee? Julius? You know, making shots? That is, like worst case scenario to me. It feels like Keith Williams is on board with that plan, because he he tries to foul out of every game, which opens up room for for somebody who's gonna be here next year. I mean, you sit right in front of me at these games. That was in the final minute of the first half that told the game and it was like a magnet. He had to get a second foul before halftime. It's like he might have pulled out of baseball that month. That guy's once also Yeah, I mean, look, he still their leading scorer. He's averaging 15 points a game. It should be 20 if you would just make it free throws, so he's still their most important player, and it is going to be their most steady, consistent score. And I'm not saying like, Well, we should just throw the season away. So sorry, Keith Williams. He's gonna be a big part of what they're doing going forward. But, you know, I think it has to be within the Framework of the offense, the system whatever John Breen and changed a lot of stuff last year with Karen, you know, running point guard and just kind of, you know, managing more than coaching, that was, you know, toward the effort of getting into the empty a tournament. They've been young and in certain spots, the rap Ivanauskas thing was ah, a square peg in a round hole that Workout, the shuffling of guys in and out that's fine. But those two players and the lack of improvement for me has been has been maybe the most disappointing thing about this season. I think you could put David Julius in there, too. I mean, played hard. He's done some good things, but he's not shot. Well, you know, I think if you look over a set, she you see a lot of like one for 62 for eight things like that. You know, he's going to be a key guy. He was a two year player when they brought him in. So he's gonna be there next year, which was back in like a. I'm with you. Those three guys, we have to see them whether they're like shooting themselves out of a form. You know what I think you could say for Mike and the Julius or just getting more minutes and and being more engaged on both ends of the floor. You know, we have to see that because if we go into the end of the season, and it's like he's averaging 15 16 points, Jeremiah's out of region eight and everyone else is kind of like them below them that that's that's a really good time. Really quick here. I got about a minute. When you're having a bad year. Fans like to cling to. Well, the cavalry is coming here schools who's coming in next year. The pandemic has screwed up college basketball recruiting all over the country, But I think one thing that a lot of folks are expressing some concern is well, there's no one to point to. There's nobody committed. There's nobody signed. There's nobody you could say, Well, you know, this kid's going to come in and change it next year. Can can you expand on that? Yeah. I mean, unfortunately, no, because there really isn't a lot. I think there's you know, they're banking on. They're gonna have to go to the transfer portal and I know that scarce and people, especially if you think about Rapolas Ivanauskas and and how that one Or maybe someone went last year, Chris MacNeil chase the role I get residency there. But I guess the one good thing is with this rule change. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of players in the portal now that could also apply to U. C. So that way that's a double edged sword. I guess the one thing for hope would be, you know, not every thing and recruiting is done out louder. Now it's done in the light of day. Maybe they have something they feel good about. That's just the staff is tight lipped and not putting it out there. Um, So I think this year because of everything because of the transition season, the pandemic you no point at all six or seven excuses, you know, Bill eventually get a little past. Maybe not from the sand base, but they're gonna have some time. John Brain's gonna have time as as he should. He deserved that. You know what he did last year and what his plan is for the program. But, you know, I don't think we could run this back next season and And have people feeling good about it or or being his patient.
